- 2:02Speaker 1: in l A Man when I was living out there.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But welcome to money making conversations. I'm your host with
- 2:07Speaker 1: Sean mcdot Now. My next guest is an accomplished actor
- 2:10Speaker 1: on shows like Falcolm Crest's Fame, Hill Street, Blues, Knots, Landing,
- 2:14Speaker 1: Dallas or Dallas whoa boy back in the day who
- 2:18Speaker 1: shot j R. And New York Undercover off on fox
- 2:21Speaker 1: Man That was the show. His film critics include Get
- 2:24Speaker 1: Richard Died, Trying, Hoodling, Predator, Minister Society. That is a movie.
- 2:29Speaker 1: If you've not seen it, you should catalog that. That
- 2:31Speaker 1: is one of the best urban um interestity movies of
- 2:35Speaker 1: how dry bys and interstity violence. I was living in
- 2:38Speaker 1: l a at the time when that movie came out,
- 2:40Speaker 1: so it was really very relatable. And anymore. He's a
- 2:43Speaker 1: TV and film director and UH deep Cover when he
- 2:47Speaker 1: was a deaf Jeff goldbloom Man, We gotta talk about
- 2:50Speaker 1: that man s the act two, UH, producer, writer and
- 2:53Speaker 1: the author of the new book that we're gonna talk
- 2:55Speaker 1: about on the show today. Bill Duke, for your career
- 2:58Speaker 1: on screen and behind the cameras. Since I said his name,
- 3:01Speaker 1: please welcome the money making conversations. Bill Duke, God, bless you,
- 3:06Speaker 1: my brother. Thanks for having me. Hey Bill, how are
- 3:09Speaker 1: you doing, my friend? I'm blessed man, thank you for
- 3:12Speaker 1: having me on your show. Well, first of all, uh,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, you know, I know your talents. We we've
- 3:16Speaker 1: we've we kind of met a couple of times when
- 3:18Speaker 1: you came by step always the morning show, and uh,
- 3:20Speaker 1: he was always quiet, but always had a message about
- 3:23Speaker 1: giving back man even Ben. That's but that's about my
- 3:26Speaker 1: fifteen years ago when we had that conversation, and I
- 3:29Speaker 1: see you still maintaining that with your foundation. Talk to
- 3:33Speaker 1: us about it before we get into the book. Well,
- 3:36Speaker 1: it's the Duke Media Foundation and you can see it
- 3:38Speaker 1: online at Duke Media Foundation dot org. Just Media Foundation
- 3:41Speaker 1: dot org. And we teach young people who are interested
- 3:45Speaker 1: in our industry. Uh. Two things. One is media literacy.
- 3:49Speaker 1: We've gone from some in television to Hulu, Crackical, Amazon, Netflix,
- 3:58Speaker 1: augmented reality, virtual reality, cell phone apps. I mean it
- 4:01Speaker 1: goes on and on and on, and it's not about
- 4:04Speaker 1: just purchasing those things. What are the jobs behind those issues?
- 4:09Speaker 1: And the second thing we teach young people is financial literacy.
- 4:14Speaker 1: We are taught how to spend money, but now to
- 4:16Speaker 1: use money. So we teach them about what is the
- 4:19Speaker 1: FBI C what's the Federal Reserve with the stock market,
- 4:22Speaker 1: what is Wall Street? What's debt with his credit with
- 4:24Speaker 1: his compound interest? What are phones? So that they're given
- 4:28Speaker 1: the information that they can utilize to their benefit in
- 4:33Speaker 1: terms of leveraging dollars for themselves. That's really amazing. And
- 4:37Speaker 1: what's the age group and how can one? Uh, I
- 4:40Speaker 1: got a young person, I'm assuming a male and female.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And what's the age group that participates in this in
- 4:45Speaker 1: your foundation program? They're high schools from fourteen to eighteen
- 4:50Speaker 1: years old. And we tind to hold it four times
- 4:53Speaker 1: a year. Um, we are constantly raking funds for it
- 4:57Speaker 1: because you think we want to eventually take a national
- 5:01Speaker 1: particularly financial literacy is so important. You know, we were
- 5:04Speaker 1: trying to spend money for now to use this absolutely well.
- 5:08Speaker 1: You know the thing about it is always used me
- 5:10Speaker 1: as an asset, you know when you're doing it again.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And Bill, first of all a fan. You've been like
- 5:16Speaker 1: a mentor to me because I've watched your talent. Uh,
- 5:21Speaker 1: people don't understand you don't have to know somebody for
- 5:24Speaker 1: somebody to be your mentor. It's just what they how
- 5:26Speaker 1: they carry themselves, how they present themselves on screen, the accomplishments,
- 5:30Speaker 1: and watching your career, I have to say, you're you
- 5:33Speaker 1: have been a mentor to me because you've laid the
- 5:35Speaker 1: groundwork to say this can happen. This can happen. And
- 5:39Speaker 1: you have a production company there that produces film and
- 5:41Speaker 1: television show called Duke Media Entertainment. Let them Let the
- 5:44Speaker 1: fans and the listeners know about that. Well, we UM
- 5:49Speaker 1: try our best, you know, to collaborate with other companies,
- 5:53Speaker 1: UM Network, Studios, online, et cetera, to create content. We
- 5:58Speaker 1: call it entertainment and we don't fat or anything, but
- 6:01Speaker 1: we think that, you know, you can entertain people but
- 6:03Speaker 1: also give them a little nothing to think about, uh
- 6:07Speaker 1: without you know, because we don't know everything. But you know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: there are issues that raise their heads that should be
- 6:13Speaker 1: addressed and you can do it in an entertaining way.
- 6:15Speaker 1: So we tire our best to do that. And so
- 6:18Speaker 1: UM that's that's that's our goal. Well, you know, the
- 6:21Speaker 1: interesting thing about having a production company, because I have one,
- 6:24Speaker 1: is and uh but yours is way more advanced in mind, Bill,
- 6:28Speaker 1: And is that when you think about how do people
- 6:32Speaker 1: what are the wrong the incorrect way that people present
- 6:35Speaker 1: ideas to try to pitch ideas to you? Aught your
- 6:37Speaker 1: production company, if you can give by my listeners, Uh,
- 6:41Speaker 1: how quick? How to and how don't to pitch an idea? Well?
- 6:47Speaker 1: First of all, um, today pitching an idea? UM A
- 6:52Speaker 1: lot of the creative executives and industry or accountants and um,
- 6:56Speaker 1: you know you're going to pitch an idea verbally. I
- 7:01Speaker 1: think you protect yourself better if you have what it's
- 7:04Speaker 1: called the deck, and it's a visual digital presentation of
- 7:08Speaker 1: the vision. Um, who is your basic audience? How many
- 7:12Speaker 1: of them are there? What is your gender? Et cetera.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Have a little sizzle reel, would be great to have
- 7:18Speaker 1: the script plus a synopsis. But to answer your vital questions.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I used to go pitching with passion and all kinds
- 7:27Speaker 1: of well my grandfather, big grandfather with a slave or
- 7:30Speaker 1: whatever and that of that, this is why it's important.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And I used to pick those ideas. And I go
- 7:35Speaker 1: back to my agent because no one picked the ideas up,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and I said, what in the name, but what's going on?
- 7:41Speaker 1: And so he said, hey, Bill, did you answer the
- 7:44Speaker 1: essential questions in the first three minutes of the pitch
- 7:48Speaker 1: and said, what is that question? He said, Bill, what
- 7:52Speaker 1: they want to know is how in the hell you're
- 7:56Speaker 1: gonna make me mo money back. Yeah, that's true, that's true.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I never thought about that. But you can have all
- 8:06Speaker 1: the past that you want. If you can't tell them
- 8:10Speaker 1: how you can make them the money back, it ain't
- 8:11Speaker 1: work too well Deep Cover, which is one of my
- 8:14Speaker 1: all time favorite movies. How did you make that transition
- 8:17Speaker 1: to directing? Well, Um, I was directing uh stage played
- 8:26Speaker 1: in New York and out here in l A also,
- 8:29Speaker 1: But I was always and I wrote my own stuff,
- 8:32Speaker 1: but I was always intimidated by the equipment of you know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: the cameras in there, the dolly grip, the dollies and
- 8:38Speaker 1: UH and the lights and everything. And I just overwhelmed
- 8:41Speaker 1: by that. And so UM I got um a show
- 8:47Speaker 1: called Homistown USA by UM, you know normally, and Alex
- 8:51Speaker 1: Hilly produced it. I was on a couple of seasons um,
- 8:54Speaker 1: Janelle Allen and myself, but then I didn't work two
- 8:56Speaker 1: years after that, and I said I would, I would
- 8:59Speaker 1: get over the sphere because I have to have more
- 9:01Speaker 1: than one skill. I applied to the American Film Institute,
- 9:04Speaker 1: got in and thank god, I said, wow, that's awesome,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and uh I got a film out of that called
- 9:12Speaker 1: The Hero and it got some recognition. I shot it
- 9:15Speaker 1: around to everybody. They wouldn't take it and so they
- 9:18Speaker 1: won't let me directly. I went away on a retreat
- 9:22Speaker 1: for UM meditations. I'm a transport meditation practitioner and I
- 9:27Speaker 1: wanted to cheat. My agent close and he says, David
- 9:30Speaker 1: Jacobs wanting to see you from notch Landing music producer.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I said, what, so I flew. I went back and
- 9:37Speaker 1: met with David Jacobs. It was like a strange little meeting,
- 9:40Speaker 1: very brief, and then um, for my age, it's not
- 9:43Speaker 1: gonna happen. A week later, the agent calls me said,
- 9:45Speaker 1: David Jacobs wants you to direct the first episode not Landing.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I cheered. I was so happy. Then I went to
- 9:53Speaker 1: work and I was there for like, you know, prepping
- 9:57Speaker 1: the the and the last day of prep, Joe Wallentine
- 10:01Speaker 1: comes says, do you know we know you're gonna be
- 10:02Speaker 1: a great director from your real I said, what reel?
- 10:06Speaker 1: Well the view you're turned into David? I said, no,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I just gotta he's wait a minute, He goes to
- 10:10Speaker 1: the David Jacob got David Jacobs had mixed my box
- 10:14Speaker 1: up with someone else's. That's why I got my first cob.
- 10:20Speaker 1: That's a that's a blessing. That's a blessing, but God,
- 10:24Speaker 1: God blessing. But also the obviously I was gonna tell
- 10:26Speaker 1: you was about my first day on Dallas. I was
- 10:29Speaker 1: the first black director on Dallas and I go to
- 10:31Speaker 1: the gates and I rolled the windows down and the
- 10:34Speaker 1: security guard said to me, who are you delivering for?
- 10:40Speaker 1: That was that was a moment. And that's the I
- 10:44Speaker 1: read that in the book. And I'm gonna let everybody
- 10:46Speaker 1: know that I don't want to get wear all them neggets, Bill,
- 10:47Speaker 1: because I remember that. And you you, you pause momentarily,
- 10:50Speaker 1: because you didn't want to like become a become a
- 10:53Speaker 1: black panther back in the day black pather on. But
- 10:57Speaker 1: we're all famous for Sean McDonald, and I'm now talking
- 10:59Speaker 1: about a world famous brand that's blinds. Gloord dot com

- 12:52Speaker 1: This online bank was for closing on us. They even
- 12:55Speaker 1: had documents that I signed for a home equity loan.

- 13:05Speaker 1: mortgage are kept online where thieves for an end domestic
- 13:10Speaker 1: hack them. It's simple. They forge your title and borrow
- 13:13Speaker 1: every penny of equity you have in your home. Like
- 13:15Speaker 1: this police officer, I know about title fraud, so our
- 13:18Speaker 1: registered with home title Lock and discovered some thief had

- 13:51Speaker 1: we sort of stopped paying attention and racked up a
- 13:54Speaker 1: lot of debt. Yeah, it was stressful. He blamed me
- 13:57Speaker 1: for my credit card debt, and I blamed him for
- 13:59Speaker 1: building that man cave. It's awesome anyway, we stopped blaming
- 14:02Speaker 1: each other, did our homework and read that a smart
- 14:04Speaker 1: way to consolidate debt is to get a fixed rate loan.
- 14:08Speaker 1: But getting a loan was brutal and a time drain.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So I was in my man cave researching personal loans,
- 14:13Speaker 1: and I found best Egg. They have an A plus

- 17:54Speaker 1: it down, Johata John Netta. I was named nothing my father.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna you to them Southern people, they just want
- 18:01Speaker 1: to share their name. You want to extend life. And
- 18:04Speaker 1: how you doing? Wonderful? Good? Okay? Cool? You brought this
- 18:07Speaker 1: gentleman in. You know. Here's here's the thing about you.
- 18:11Speaker 1: There's a second time I've been able to get you
- 18:12Speaker 1: on the show where the Council because to fly out
- 18:14Speaker 1: of town and you you're not about sharing the stage
- 18:19Speaker 1: about you know, because I was trying to just book
- 18:21Speaker 1: you and you're trying to bring another person on the
- 18:23Speaker 1: show last time. So tell me about your personality. Why
- 18:27Speaker 1: is that? Because a lot of people they just want
- 18:28Speaker 1: it's all about them and they got a moment be
- 18:30Speaker 1: on the show of ra Sean McDonald's all about me,
- 18:32Speaker 1: but but not you. I'm a hard worker. I like
- 18:36Speaker 1: to get the work done. I'm really more of a
- 18:38Speaker 1: behind the scene manager and person. I like to create greatness.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I don't really like being in the spotlight, you know.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And really with this new venture that I have um
- 18:53Speaker 1: just launched, I'm more out front. I don't really want
- 18:59Speaker 1: to be is that it are bad good, it's good,
- 19:02Speaker 1: But for me, that's not who I am. Behind the scene,
- 19:06Speaker 1: you know, I don't think that can happen nowadays, you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: because of social media. Social media, you know, we have
- 19:11Speaker 1: directors are not stars, Executive producers are not stars because
- 19:16Speaker 1: of social media. Because people want to know so much
- 19:19Speaker 1: about them, want to engage in their their their process.
- 19:23Speaker 1: They want to be able to like what you do.
- 19:25Speaker 1: They want to be able to comment on how you create.
- 19:28Speaker 1: So that's that's what I've learned about myself. You know,
- 19:31Speaker 1: because I've been with Steve Harvey, I was truly up
- 19:34Speaker 1: behind the scenes guy as you were with Usher, because
- 19:37Speaker 1: you come into the radio studio and she melted into
- 19:39Speaker 1: the wall. It wasn't about your your role. You were
- 19:43Speaker 1: there to make sure his his role was successful and
- 19:46Speaker 1: then you you moved on. So I understand that, but
- 19:48Speaker 1: I know that as rus Sean McDonald as as you
- 19:52Speaker 1: are now. They plays a different role on building your
- 19:55Speaker 1: brand because you're now a brand. How does one if
- 19:58Speaker 1: I'm from Sean McDonald, I'm trying to get in the business,
- 20:01Speaker 1: how do I contact you? How do I find out
- 20:04Speaker 1: if you're the right place for me to take my vision,
- 20:08Speaker 1: my ideas and my concepts. Well, first of all, you
- 20:11Speaker 1: look at my record. Okay, you have to look at
- 20:12Speaker 1: my record, and then you just like me, google me,
- 20:16Speaker 1: Just google me, Just google people. I was saying, you
- 20:20Speaker 1: have a business card, No, you know, just google me.
- 20:24Speaker 1: You will find me if you need me. I'm I
- 20:27Speaker 1: don't business I'm not ever gonna get one. And somebody
- 20:30Speaker 1: passing that business card the other day that they made
- 20:32Speaker 1: me want to go Why I said, I don't. I
- 20:35Speaker 1: don't use this because in the end, I would tell
- 20:37Speaker 1: people if your brand has to have value, And I
- 20:40Speaker 1: don't say that arrogantly. I just tell people that exactly,
- 20:43Speaker 1: you gotta have value. You gotta believing it to a
- 20:45Speaker 1: certain point that if I don't, if I'm when I
- 20:47Speaker 1: tell somebody, I don't feel I'm missing an opportunity. When
- 20:50Speaker 1: I tell them that, I'm just letting them know that
- 20:52Speaker 1: I'm confident enough to know if you want to talk
- 20:55Speaker 1: to me, you find confident. You said it, you said
- 20:57Speaker 1: the word. Come on, you said the work confidence. And
- 21:01Speaker 1: at sixty one when I got back in the business,
- 21:06Speaker 1: sit behind my desk. Good, we're looking good, we're breaking
- 21:10Speaker 1: that sixty. Come on, let's get that. Come look at longer,
- 21:13Speaker 1: when you go longer and see this. Look were writing
- 21:17Speaker 1: fifty go up, and there we were writing fifty up.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Put again, taking piure. We're gonna post this, take this.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Don't worry about we're taking pictures, y'all. There you go,
- 21:26Speaker 1: there we go. We have to take some pictures for
- 21:28Speaker 1: social media. Six because social media. I put in the work.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I put in the work. You got this smooth skin,
- 21:35Speaker 1: black crack. But she's a sixty work. I got to
- 21:38Speaker 1: my age out do Come on. Now we're in a
- 21:40Speaker 1: battle now, battle of sixties. Now for his joy. Yeah,
- 21:44Speaker 1: so you know, don't you don't you look at people
- 21:47Speaker 1: at your age to be going? I say, can you
- 21:49Speaker 1: go you? I don't look around like hope. Now I
- 21:53Speaker 1: get my rest a night, I go home. I go, Okay,
- 21:57Speaker 1: did he did he say? You with fifty five? Man?
- 22:01Speaker 1: I don't look like that. But you know it's rest,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but I don't get resd you get rest. I get
- 22:08Speaker 1: mad when sleep takes over my body. See I I
- 22:12Speaker 1: go home at twelve thirty, no one. I gotta get
- 22:15Speaker 1: up before fifty because I get up at the same
- 22:17Speaker 1: time every day, because that's just my I have to
- 22:19Speaker 1: tell you too, getting up this morning with the challenge.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I don't worry about don't worry back. But see you
- 22:24Speaker 1: sitting next to a phone, a food who just passionate
- 22:27Speaker 1: about what I do? And I've been doing that. Guy
- 22:29Speaker 1: asked me that. Guys, he said, how long you've been
- 22:32Speaker 1: doing that? It was Kevin Ross from Radio Facts. He
- 22:34Speaker 1: asked me, how long you've been getting up? I said about.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I wanna tell you how I got up because I
- 22:40Speaker 1: used to work at the post office. When I got
- 22:42Speaker 1: to the high school, I used to work the post off.
- 22:44Speaker 1: It was from six pm to six am, so I
- 22:47Speaker 1: always was up and I would drive home I had.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I had a seventy one Gremlin with no radio. Girl,
- 22:54Speaker 1: let me tell you something. You understand the value of
- 22:57Speaker 1: the radio when you have sleep. I saw the real
- 23:01Speaker 1: coming to Muslem and that I wouldn't immediately got my
- 23:03Speaker 1: first check. I got me a radio putting that gremlin
- 23:06Speaker 1: before before y'all wouldn't be talking to me today if
- 23:08Speaker 1: I didn't buy all that. So Mr Walker, I don't
- 23:10Speaker 1: wanna leave you all this beautiful conference. We will be
- 23:12Speaker 1: record leg and realizing that you know, she she she
- 23:15Speaker 1: looking all beautiful and artiiculand and she's sleeping and I
- 23:19Speaker 1: don't sleep. You know, we're the yin and y ain't
- 23:21Speaker 1: a beauty talking about Jim Man? How you got how
- 23:26Speaker 1: can they get in touch with you? And what's the
- 23:28Speaker 1: ultimate goal? What do you see three years from now?
- 23:30Speaker 1: What's what? Where? Where's your brain in three years? Well?
- 23:33Speaker 1: I think three years from now, UM, we are going
- 23:35Speaker 1: to definitely make a mark on this industry. UM. A
- 23:40Speaker 1: lot of agencies you know, UM you've probably heard stories
- 23:43Speaker 1: about the integrity of various UH agents and agencies and
- 23:48Speaker 1: how they u players off. UM. Well that's where the
- 23:53Speaker 1: opposite of that, you know, UM we UM we want
- 23:57Speaker 1: UM when when a player comes to us, UM, they're
- 24:01Speaker 1: gonna know that we are standing behind them and that
- 24:03Speaker 1: we have integrity and that we have their best interests
- 24:06Speaker 1: UM at heart. And that's why right because you know
- 24:10Speaker 1: your your name means something. You know, this is how
- 24:13Speaker 1: it really works. You know, I know her, I don't
- 24:16Speaker 1: know you, and then you you, So her brand value
- 24:20Speaker 1: has at least allowed me to look at you and
- 24:23Speaker 1: relate to what you're trying to contribute. But you're bringing
- 24:25Speaker 1: the model the model because she doesn't have time to
- 24:28Speaker 1: do what you do. And so that's what you do
- 24:30Speaker 1: in life. And that's why I was just talking about
- 24:32Speaker 1: social media. She's a brand, you know what she wants
- 24:34Speaker 1: to resist that or not. You know, she can't because
- 24:38Speaker 1: of the fact that people the not only just social media,
- 24:41Speaker 1: but the digital platform just can just type in your
- 24:44Speaker 1: name and that's good and bad. And so that's why
- 24:47Speaker 1: I work, because people can take negative and that can
- 24:49Speaker 1: dominate your your core. And that's why I constantly worked
- 24:53Speaker 1: up update, update, um content on me. You know, like
- 24:57Speaker 1: I said, I have my Rashan McDonald dot com website,
- 25:00Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations dot com website, and Baker Spotlight dot
- 25:04Speaker 1: com And so always know that the value of who
- 25:06Speaker 1: I am is a friend. And so you know, we've
- 25:10Speaker 1: already talked about what we're gonna do, and I'm serious
- 25:12Speaker 1: about that because I feel that, you know, we've've seen
- 25:15Speaker 1: each other. While I had to say visually since the
- 25:19Speaker 1: l a radio station we first started meeting. When us
- 25:21Speaker 1: you come back there and you know, we come on
- 25:24Speaker 1: my show? Can you come on my show? You know,
- 25:26Speaker 1: getting kids? But I've been knowing him way back before then,
- 25:30Speaker 1: from the Moitia days, you know, and and things like that.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And so I remember when I knew he was a
- 25:34Speaker 1: star wars way back on Vibe when he when he
- 25:38Speaker 1: did his first hit song and and he did uh
- 25:40Speaker 1: and he did a live routine and send Bad was
- 25:44Speaker 1: hosting up. I looked at the friend and I go,
- 25:46Speaker 1: that's a star right there. I said, I can't believe
- 25:47Speaker 1: what this young man is doing. And so that's a
- 25:50Speaker 1: blessing for you. The blessing is relationships. Is relationships, and
- 25:54Speaker 1: I want you to consider me a partner and uh
- 25:57Speaker 1: and making your brand grow and um and so and
- 26:00Speaker 1: and you need for me to do. Let's let's make
- 26:01Speaker 1: it happen. And so before we go, just give a
- 26:04Speaker 1: little shout out on how we can get in touch
- 26:06Speaker 1: with you. Okay, get in touch with me um um
- 26:08Speaker 1: at Walking three sixties Sports on Instagram, um and on
- 26:12Speaker 1: Twitter and www. Dot Walking three sixty Sports dot com. Okay,
- 26:18Speaker 1: Jay Pat James on social Instagram, Ginetta Patton and Jay

- 27:16Speaker 1: hack them. It's simple. They forge your title and borrow
- 27:20Speaker 1: every penny of equity you have in your home. Like
- 27:22Speaker 1: this police officer, I know about title fraud. So our
- 27:25Speaker 1: registered with home title Lock and discovered some thief had

- 28:00Speaker 1: and racked up a lot of debt. Yeah, it was stressful.
- 28:03Speaker 1: He blamed me for my credit card debt and I
- 28:05Speaker 1: blamed him for building that man cave. It's awesome anyway,
- 28:08Speaker 1: we stopped blaming each other, did our homework and read
- 28:10Speaker 1: that a smart way to consolidate debt is to get
- 28:13Speaker 1: a fixed rate loan. But getting a loan was brutal
- 28:16Speaker 1: and a time drain. So I was in my man
- 28:18Speaker 1: cave researching personal loans and I found best Egg. They

- 31:28Speaker 1: thank you, Rosian, thank you for having me. I haven't
- 31:30Speaker 1: done a cooking show. You know, Rashana hadn't done the
- 31:35Speaker 1: cooking show yet. I'm be calling you when I get ready.
- 31:39Speaker 1: You haven't done it yet. Huh No, sir, don done

- 31:54Speaker 1: the rest you have the fire. Wait, I just got
- 32:00Speaker 1: to get me. I gotta step up my baking game.
- 32:02Speaker 1: There you go, There you go, because Ricky and I've
- 32:04Speaker 1: been talking about this by coming on his show, Ricky
- 32:07Speaker 1: smiling for real, by doing we've actually talked about doing
- 32:11Speaker 1: the coming on the show, doing some type of cooking
- 32:13Speaker 1: thing at the house, you know, because you have to
- 32:15Speaker 1: bake these storylines where he has a disaster called rashand
- 32:18Speaker 1: to come in there they are I just big like
- 32:21Speaker 1: thirteen and show him how to do like thirteen desserts.
- 32:24Speaker 1: But that hadn't happened yet, Steve, you know well. Season five,
- 32:29Speaker 1: Season five, Season by Frat Brother Season five, the five
- 32:33Speaker 1: starts tomorrow. Hold on, no, I ain't gonna let's just
- 32:36Speaker 1: go buy know I had. I introduced a new a
- 32:41Speaker 1: cousin and four new kids to the show, and that
- 32:43Speaker 1: took up most of the tape and we only did
- 32:45Speaker 1: eight of a boat. I got you, so you're gonna six.
- 32:48Speaker 1: It's gonna happen. Okay, Okay, now you know Rickie at
- 32:52Speaker 1: phone kids, Now I know I could have rolled down
- 32:54Speaker 1: with a couple of sweeper tato pies, a couple of bananas,
- 32:58Speaker 1: baked banana pudding's, and a old piece cobbler that I
- 33:02Speaker 1: could have came in. There been Santa Claus in the summertime.
- 33:05Speaker 1: You could have, you could have, but but you know,
- 33:08Speaker 1: I got partners and I pitched everything, and so you
- 33:13Speaker 1: know how that go. I had to I had to
- 33:17Speaker 1: poor teeth to get the new kids on the show
- 33:18Speaker 1: because they stuck on the old kid because I didn't
- 33:21Speaker 1: want my kids on the show because they had they
- 33:24Speaker 1: developed a sense of entitlement and they didn't deserve to
- 33:27Speaker 1: be on this season. They did not. That's what I
- 33:30Speaker 1: love about Ricky because Ricky's show, you know, it's it's
- 33:33Speaker 1: it's really a reality show that's really real. You know,
- 33:37Speaker 1: the issues that he has on that show with his kids,
- 33:40Speaker 1: that because you know, he's a traditional father, you know,
- 33:42Speaker 1: in other words, you know, like my child, she's twenty,
- 33:45Speaker 1: she's not ever gonna be old. You know, she's gonna
- 33:49Speaker 1: always have to respect me, you know, yes, sir, no, sir,
- 33:52Speaker 1: whatever it takes, you know, because because not just that.
- 33:55Speaker 1: The first time Ricky and I talked about this TV show,
- 33:57Speaker 1: because we always talked about the moment you know when
- 33:59Speaker 1: you when you're in there talking to the therapist talking
- 34:03Speaker 1: about the issues y'all having. What's going on this season, Ricky,
- 34:06Speaker 1: come on now, we'll talk about the show man. Tell
- 34:08Speaker 1: me about Season five starts tomorrow on TV one, Ricky
- 34:13Speaker 1: smiling for real? What's going on? Yeah? Season five? Season
- 34:19Speaker 1: five starts tomorrow, Ricky's amount for real. I'm really really
- 34:23Speaker 1: excited about it. Um, I'm introducing four new kids. A
- 34:27Speaker 1: cousin that's living with me that moved from Nashville to Birmingham.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And you know, Uh Gary that's on the morning show.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Uh had some issues with cancer. So you get a Yeah,
- 34:39Speaker 1: you get a chance to see that, and you'll get
- 34:42Speaker 1: a chance just to see a whole lot of stuff
- 34:44Speaker 1: on there. Um, that's really really interesting and it's funny,
- 34:48Speaker 1: and you're gonna when you when you see the show tonight,
- 34:51Speaker 1: you're gonna be laughing so hard, you're gonna be crying.
- 34:53Speaker 1: You're gonna be like, that's the best episode I've ever
- 34:55Speaker 1: seen I've seen. Uh. At the premier, I saw the
- 34:59Speaker 1: first episode and it is super funny. Okay, cool. So
- 35:04Speaker 1: the first episode airs Tuesday, October thirty, the a p M.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Right right, Okay, cool, cool. Now now this one because
- 35:12Speaker 1: I've already posted on my social media. It's got all
- 35:15Speaker 1: my social media platforms because they sent me a video trailer.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I posted that. I'm posting that this afternoon, and I'm
- 35:22Speaker 1: also posting the bandity they said. So I'm in full
- 35:26Speaker 1: Ricky Smiley molde right now, promotion mode. Right. You know,
- 35:29Speaker 1: that's what you do with your fraternity brothers, you know,
- 35:34Speaker 1: absolutely get the word out there. Get the word out
- 35:36Speaker 1: that Omega five five fraternity they incorporated found the Nights
- 35:40Speaker 1: Ruth did the cue. Now talk about HBCUs, the role
- 35:44Speaker 1: of HBCUs, your graduate of HBCU, talk about the importance
- 35:48Speaker 1: of HBCUs in your life. Yeah, man, you know, supporting
- 35:53Speaker 1: HBCUs is really really important. Man. To see all of
- 35:56Speaker 1: these people that have died and made the ultimate sacrifice
- 36:00Speaker 1: to build these universities. You know, I went and stood
- 36:03Speaker 1: on the grades. I was standing in between the grades
- 36:06Speaker 1: of George Washington carbon in book of t Washington, And
- 36:09Speaker 1: when I looked across the campus of Tuskegeon saw kids
- 36:12Speaker 1: walking to school. Man, I broke down and cried. I
- 36:16Speaker 1: broke down. I literally broke down and cried to see
- 36:20Speaker 1: these educated black men during times of slavery to have
- 36:24Speaker 1: to put together a university called Tuskegee Institute. And I
- 36:30Speaker 1: and it was almost like I wanted to follow my knee,
- 36:34Speaker 1: you know, because I felt like I was on holy
- 36:36Speaker 1: ground for somebody to do something like that and make
- 36:39Speaker 1: us who hey, you know, reside. I get choked up
- 36:43Speaker 1: when I talked about it, because because brother, if you
- 36:46Speaker 1: think about think about where people went through back then,
- 36:51Speaker 1: just where our kids and for years and years and
- 36:54Speaker 1: years for everybody to have what they have, and for
- 36:58Speaker 1: the sacrifice that people made to put together these wonderful
- 37:02Speaker 1: institutions like more House and Spellmen in Alabama State Alabama
- 37:06Speaker 1: and them Grambling UH University is to educate Postman, because
- 37:11Speaker 1: I promise you you don't get the same treatment. You
- 37:13Speaker 1: know when you go to other and go to the university,
- 37:16Speaker 1: you get the police called on your while sleeping in
- 37:18Speaker 1: the dorm and and all the other stuff, and you
- 37:21Speaker 1: just a number when you go to these other schools.
- 37:23Speaker 1: But but man, you know, all of these wonderful people
- 37:27Speaker 1: that have put together and organized for us to have
- 37:30Speaker 1: universities to attend. It is life changing. And I just
- 37:35Speaker 1: get emotional when I talk about it, because man, if
- 37:38Speaker 1: you ain't never been to a commencement exercise or a
- 37:42Speaker 1: football game or basketball game at of h b c
- 37:44Speaker 1: qu it's part of your DNA is who you are
- 37:48Speaker 1: as a human being, and it just I help you
- 37:51Speaker 1: just identify and make you so proud to be black,
- 37:55Speaker 1: you know. And I just appreciate man and honor in
- 37:59Speaker 1: memory of people like Booker T. Washington and and all
- 38:03Speaker 1: of these people and our founders that found it out
- 38:05Speaker 1: great fraternities and sororities and and and and dear what
- 38:09Speaker 1: they had to do with nothing and no resources and
- 38:12Speaker 1: made all these wonderful things happened for us to carry
- 38:15Speaker 1: that legacy. I take it serious. And thank you for
- 38:19Speaker 1: asking me that. You know, I really got to get
- 38:21Speaker 1: emotional because you know, Racin, I can't even tell you,
- 38:25Speaker 1: you know how I felt when I stood on on
- 38:28Speaker 1: on their grave, the book Washington. It meant a lot
- 38:33Speaker 1: to me, you know, and uh, you know, I had
- 38:36Speaker 1: tears coming down my eyes. Man. And then when you
- 38:39Speaker 1: just look acy these kids with their headphones on, with
- 38:41Speaker 1: the backpacks walking to class, and and and and and
- 38:46Speaker 1: that's why I believe in voting. I believe in getting
- 38:50Speaker 1: out doing the right thing, trying to help people, educate people,
- 38:53Speaker 1: love people, feed people, encourage people, not make everything about me,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and to get out and be a part of that
- 38:59Speaker 1: legacy as where you know, it's cool being a comedian
- 39:03Speaker 1: and being on tour and doing all this stuff, but
- 39:06Speaker 1: I use that platform to do good, to continue to
- 39:10Speaker 1: educate and love and motivate and and teach and love
- 39:15Speaker 1: all of this stuff. So you know, uh, I don't know, man,
- 39:19Speaker 1: that was suppsed to be talking about this show man,
- 39:20Speaker 1: but boy, thank you for asking me that. Nobody forever
- 39:25Speaker 1: you know, you know our relationship, Um, you care and uh,
- 39:30Speaker 1: and I think that that's that's that's your popularity is
- 39:33Speaker 1: that you're willing to show your emotions. You willing to
- 39:36Speaker 1: let people know your passion and let people understand that. Okay,
- 39:40Speaker 1: you use your platform, you're you're one of the funniest
- 39:42Speaker 1: comedians out there, headlining tours, all of the company, playing
- 39:45Speaker 1: major vengues. But in the end, you care. Use it
- 39:48Speaker 1: in social media, use it in your road tide, road tide,
- 39:52Speaker 1: road tie, use it in your now that that's that's
- 39:56Speaker 1: just I just loved Alabama football because listen, but listen
- 40:05Speaker 1: because I get I get a lot of people. I
- 40:06Speaker 1: get a lot of flak for supporting Alabama football team,
- 40:10Speaker 1: but they don't know the story because I was one
- 40:13Speaker 1: of the at risk kids that had an opportunity to
- 40:17Speaker 1: visit the campus of the University of Alabama and to
- 40:20Speaker 1: have an opportunity to meet coach Paul bear Bryant in
- 40:24Speaker 1: the Football Player. That was where I went to my
- 40:26Speaker 1: first stepisode. That's what happened to be on that campus.
- 40:29Speaker 1: And I love Alabama football team. I'm a big fan
- 40:33Speaker 1: and it represents our state, you know, in Division one football.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I love football and I played football myself. So when
- 40:41Speaker 1: it comes to the exits and the old road, damn
- 40:44Speaker 1: tide all day. Thank you for that passionate HbCO conversation.
- 40:47Speaker 1: I'm anna peel that off and I'm gonna repost that
- 40:50Speaker 1: on my social media for HBCUs. You know, my show
- 40:52Speaker 1: broadcast on all HBCU campuses, so I will definitely get
- 40:56Speaker 1: the word out and support. Hey man, you never don't
- 40:58Speaker 1: ever change, Ricky. You know you got my number one.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I need you. You call when you need me. I

- 46:46Speaker 1: worcome to money making conversation, the author of the critically
- 46:49Speaker 1: acclaimed autobiography of his critically claim autobiography, The Education of
- 46:54Speaker 1: Kevin Powell, A Boy's Journey into Manhood. Please worcom to
- 46:57Speaker 1: money Making Conversation. Kevin Powell, Good morning, Thank you so
- 47:01Speaker 1: much for having me. Thank you so much. Well, Kevin, Kevin,
- 47:04Speaker 1: we've met? Having we Hey we met? I'm not sure, sir, because, uh,
- 47:09Speaker 1: because Vibe was was Vibe, you know, because you used
- 47:13Speaker 1: to manage Steve Steve Harvey, and I look and I
- 47:16Speaker 1: saw your pictures. I've I've actually met this young man,
- 47:18Speaker 1: because you know, we meet a lot of people. Anybody
- 47:20Speaker 1: just shook my head casually, but thank you for coming
- 47:22Speaker 1: on my show. I just want to get that out
- 47:24Speaker 1: of the way. I believe we've met because you're accomplished
- 47:27Speaker 1: young man. Now I measu you this as a writer.
- 47:29Speaker 1: How do you go from writing on from CNN to
- 47:34Speaker 1: NPR to ESPN to essence. I mean, my mama give
- 47:40Speaker 1: me a work ethic. And my mother is from South Carolina,
- 47:44Speaker 1: from from the South. And so even though I was
- 47:46Speaker 1: born in the north, New Jersey, boy right New Jersey, right,
- 47:50Speaker 1: New Jersey, correct Jersey, and I've lived in New York
- 47:52Speaker 1: for almost thirty years, to New York and New Jersey. Yeah,
- 47:55Speaker 1: but I was raised with the very serious work ethic.
- 47:58Speaker 1: And I don't tell definitely granted, and I just you know, God,
- 48:02Speaker 1: you know you you you you take seriously while you
- 48:06Speaker 1: put on this earth, I believe. And at early age,
- 48:08Speaker 1: when I was eighteen, when I was in college, I said, well,
- 48:12Speaker 1: I definitely need to help communities around this country as
- 48:14Speaker 1: an activist, as a leader. And I definitely clear that
- 48:18Speaker 1: I write, I need the right and so you just
- 48:20Speaker 1: you do your work, you know, and you you push,
- 48:22Speaker 1: you know, you can't give up, you know, if you
- 48:25Speaker 1: live long enough this you will know. So you have
- 48:26Speaker 1: a lot of ups and downs different times that I've
- 48:28Speaker 1: made tremendous amounts of money in my life. At been
- 48:30Speaker 1: times when I've had colossal failures, but I always get
- 48:34Speaker 1: back up no matter what. And you just stay humble.
- 48:36Speaker 1: You stay humble and no matter what. And I think
- 48:38Speaker 1: that's that's critical and I take very seriously. You know,
- 48:42Speaker 1: I work with a lot of young people now, um,
- 48:45Speaker 1: and I take seriously like we've got a skill sets.
- 48:47Speaker 1: You know, no matter what your business or your your
- 48:50Speaker 1: passion as you really need to become a master at it.
- 48:52Speaker 1: You know, you need to know that world. And I
- 48:54Speaker 1: just said early on that I needed to learn the
- 48:56Speaker 1: world of being a writer, being a public speaker of
- 49:00Speaker 1: how to run a business. I've run my own business
- 49:01Speaker 1: for twenty two years. I take all that very seriously.
- 49:04Speaker 1: So with that being said, what here's a here's it here.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I'm a sitcom writer. I'm ana sitcom writer. We need comedy,
- 49:12Speaker 1: we need more. You know. That's why I respect you
- 49:15Speaker 1: as a writer, because, like I said, when I went
- 49:17Speaker 1: to when in high school, you know, I didn't respect
- 49:19Speaker 1: the process, you know subject vert now, I didn't respect
- 49:21Speaker 1: the process and so when I when I went to college,
- 49:24Speaker 1: I you know, I got into the University Houston, but
- 49:27Speaker 1: they didn't like my writing school. So are you from Houston?
- 49:30Speaker 1: I want to raise Houston, Texas. That's where I'm from.
- 49:32Speaker 1: I was just there. I love Houston. Shout out to town,
- 49:35Speaker 1: come on, come on there. And I got home there.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna I'm not gonna leave there. I got
- 49:39Speaker 1: a home in Atlanta and a lot of both locations,
- 49:42Speaker 1: and and and the one thing about the beauty of
- 49:45Speaker 1: traveling you get to see the world. And I tell
- 49:46Speaker 1: people to travel all the time. And I get back
- 49:48Speaker 1: to what I wanted to say about your ability as
- 49:50Speaker 1: a writer, because I have to respect that because I
- 49:52Speaker 1: know that I had to step back to learn how
- 49:55Speaker 1: to write. What makes a good writer, Kevin? What what
- 49:58Speaker 1: is the nuances of your mind being the translate words?
- 50:02Speaker 1: And it becomes very creative from a writing perspective. That's
- 50:05Speaker 1: why I say I'm a sitcom right. That's different for
- 50:06Speaker 1: what you do, which is it's all praises do to God.
- 50:11Speaker 1: It's all connected because I mean, honestly, so I grew
- 50:14Speaker 1: up watching a lot of TV, and so you know,
- 50:16Speaker 1: I think all of its valuable, Like what if if
- 50:19Speaker 1: I'm actually turning the Education of Kevin Powell into a
- 50:22Speaker 1: TV pilot right now, myself and my co writer, So
- 50:24Speaker 1: what does that mean? We got to go and watch
- 50:26Speaker 1: a lot of TV shows and so being sitcoms, comedies
- 50:29Speaker 1: or dramas or books, you know, poetry, and you just
- 50:32Speaker 1: I believe you have to read a lot in the
- 50:34Speaker 1: space that you want to write in. You know, like, well,
- 50:36Speaker 1: what are the best sitcoms down? Whether I need to
- 50:38Speaker 1: go watch all those sitcoms going back to the nineteen
- 50:40Speaker 1: fifties right up to the present. You know, what are
- 50:42Speaker 1: the best dramas that ever been on TV? What are
- 50:44Speaker 1: the best films out there? And so anything that I've
- 50:46Speaker 1: ever written in I make it a point to study
- 50:48Speaker 1: that that that particular type of writing. Like right now,
- 50:50Speaker 1: I'm working on my fourteenth book, which is a biography
- 50:52Speaker 1: of Tupac Shakor. I've been reading for the last couple
- 50:55Speaker 1: of years a lot of biographies, but also watching a
- 50:58Speaker 1: lot of documentary films, Like you know about saying the figures,
- 51:00Speaker 1: it could be James bald when it could be mean him,
- 51:02Speaker 1: some old any one house, just anything that's telling the
- 51:04Speaker 1: story about a person's life, so it could help me
- 51:06Speaker 1: write this book. And the same thing you know applies
- 51:09Speaker 1: to to sit And I think that you know any
- 51:11Speaker 1: of it. You know, there's nothing I mean, brother, I
- 51:14Speaker 1: don't think there's any shame and saying. I think it's
- 51:15Speaker 1: beautiful that you said, Well, I had to learn how
- 51:17Speaker 1: to do it because we all are students. I'm forever
- 51:19Speaker 1: a student. I'm still always going to read stuff. I
- 51:21Speaker 1: was just one of the folks that learned. I figured
- 51:23Speaker 1: out early on when I was gont eleven, twelve years old,
- 51:25Speaker 1: I want to be a writer. But I still didn't
- 51:27Speaker 1: start writing really seriously until to high school and then
- 51:30Speaker 1: really once I got to college and to this day.
- 51:33Speaker 1: You know, I'm I'm thinking about it in different ways,
- 51:35Speaker 1: like Okay, how do I make this better? How to
- 51:36Speaker 1: reach people in new ways? And so it's a process,
- 51:39Speaker 1: is a journey. You just gotta be open to it,
- 51:41Speaker 1: you know. Yes, I first of all, I'm willing to
- 51:43Speaker 1: admit my flaws because I too. When you come on
- 51:46Speaker 1: this show, I don't want anybody that they can google
- 51:49Speaker 1: me they see success, their flaws tied to that success,
- 51:52Speaker 1: their mistakes tied to that success. But also tell people
- 51:55Speaker 1: just because I was incapable. I understand the process. Then
- 51:59Speaker 1: look it, I'm gonna sit come writer. So obviously I
- 52:02Speaker 1: learned how to write something. I learned how to put
- 52:03Speaker 1: words together from a community standpoint, from a storytelling standpoint.
- 52:08Speaker 1: So I always tell people that in African American, so
- 52:11Speaker 1: you know, so so many leaps that that people allowed, setbacks,
- 52:15Speaker 1: People tell them you can't do this, And I look
- 52:17Speaker 1: at your life. Your life is tied to people saying
- 52:20Speaker 1: what you can't do, and then there's a series of
- 52:21Speaker 1: people that tell you what you can do. Talk to
- 52:25Speaker 1: us about it, talk about their journey. Well, I mean,
- 52:27Speaker 1: first of all, I think you know, one of the
- 52:28Speaker 1: beautiful things about being black, which is what we are,
- 52:31Speaker 1: is that we're natural storytellers. We're a naturally starting to ramatic,
- 52:36Speaker 1: you know I'm saying. So I always say to people
- 52:38Speaker 1: like we should honor. Like my my mama is a
- 52:40Speaker 1: Gichi from South Carolina. When I've grown up, sir, I
- 52:43Speaker 1: was I was told that people spoke a certain kind
- 52:45Speaker 1: of way that wasn't correct realized Now my mama seeks
- 52:48Speaker 1: beautiful poetry and just like you know, so the people
- 52:51Speaker 1: of Houston, of Atlanta, wherever we're from its beautiful poetry.
- 52:55Speaker 1: And if we if we understand the genius that we
- 52:57Speaker 1: have inside of us, and that you know, if we
- 52:59Speaker 1: want to get in to entertainment, we want to get
- 53:00Speaker 1: into this world. All we need to do is like
- 53:02Speaker 1: book and T. Washington said, put your buckets right down
- 53:05Speaker 1: there and watch them. Magic come up in the sitcoms,
- 53:07Speaker 1: in the books, in the drug whatever you want to
- 53:09Speaker 1: create in the music. You know what I'm saying, And
- 53:11Speaker 1: that's what I think about. And so you know, for me,
- 53:13Speaker 1: it's it's most of the work that I do just
- 53:15Speaker 1: comes from our people, our communities, our history, you know,
- 53:19Speaker 1: current events and things like that. And as you know,
- 53:23Speaker 1: it's endless. We got so many stories. Well, you know,
- 53:26Speaker 1: the thing about it is that like I was working
- 53:28Speaker 1: at IBM, and then when I left IBM to pursue
- 53:30Speaker 1: a career into entertainment. The reason I went in entertainment
- 53:33Speaker 1: in this world because I didn't see. I didn't see
- 53:36Speaker 1: I didn't see the end. You know, I just feel
- 53:38Speaker 1: like I could just I could just create. I can
- 53:40Speaker 1: just I can just grow as an individual. And then
- 53:43Speaker 1: the writing aspect of it has made me, h, Okay,
- 53:48Speaker 1: you know, you can't stop me. You can't stop me
- 53:52Speaker 1: from telling my story. You keep telling me to stop
- 53:54Speaker 1: me from writing my story. You can't stop me from
- 53:56Speaker 1: promoting my story. And so that's why people need to
- 53:59Speaker 1: understand the all of education. That's how I respect you
- 54:02Speaker 1: so much. One of my good friends with Stephen A Smith,
- 54:04Speaker 1: and he's a word smith verbally and and with a pen.
- 54:08Speaker 1: And I always I said, that's the genius of you.
- 54:11Speaker 1: The genius of you, Kevin, is that you do it
- 54:14Speaker 1: as well. You're very articulate. You know you you you
- 54:17Speaker 1: braced your tones and understand that you you have a
- 54:20Speaker 1: world perspective. And the reason I say that is that
- 54:22Speaker 1: the fact that you know tupac Chicoo. You just threw
- 54:25Speaker 1: that out like that was not tupac Chicool. I consider
- 54:29Speaker 1: the greatest rapper, storyteller, rapper of all time. Now you
- 54:32Speaker 1: can look at me. Now people can look at me.
- 54:34Speaker 1: But no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't care
- 54:37Speaker 1: what you're This guy went political, this guy went party.
- 54:39Speaker 1: This guy was sexy, this guy was below he had drama.
- 54:43Speaker 1: He uh Dear Mama is the is the one of
- 54:47Speaker 1: the all time great Mother's Day songs. Brenda had got
- 54:52Speaker 1: a baby is one of the most incredible true to
- 54:55Speaker 1: life stories. How do you Want It? One of the
- 54:58Speaker 1: greatest party songs of all time Don't Don't talk to Me?
- 55:02Speaker 1: So I couldn't look at that when that movie came out,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I could look at that movie. Can anyone go do
- 55:06Speaker 1: a justice? See but Joe book, I'm waiting on your
- 55:09Speaker 1: book because I know you're gonna and we're gonna come
- 55:11Speaker 1: on this show when that book come out. You gotta
- 55:13Speaker 1: tell me because we're gonna do it. We're gonna do
- 55:15Speaker 1: a half hour because I'm a fan. Kevin, You're my
- 55:18Speaker 1: little brother man. I'm gonna protect you. You might make
- 55:22Speaker 1: conversation every Monday. Don't miss us. This online bank was

- 56:25Speaker 1: sort of stopped paying attention and racked up a lot
- 56:27Speaker 1: of debt. Yeah, it was stressful. He blamed me for
- 56:30Speaker 1: my credit card debt and I blamed him for building
- 56:33Speaker 1: that man cave. It's awesome anyway, we stopped blaming each other,
- 56:36Speaker 1: did our homework and read that a smart way to
- 56:38Speaker 1: consolidate debt is to get a fixed rate loan. But
