0:06
Speaker 1: Grammy's Best New Artist. But outside of Billy, Lizzo's biggest
0:08
Speaker 1: hurdle to winning was eligibility. The rules state to be eligible,
0:12
Speaker 1: artists must have released at least five singles or one album,
0:15
Speaker 1: but not more than thirty songs or three records. Lizzo
0:17
Speaker 1: had previously released two albums, two epis, two mixtapes, totally
0:20
Speaker 1: more than thirty songs, so there was concern she'd be
0:23
Speaker 1: left off the ballot. However, the Grammys have decided that
0:25
Speaker 1: since much of Lizzo's prior workers released independently or via
0:28
Speaker 1: small labels, it didn't offer her much of a shot
0:30
Speaker 1: at a breakthrough. This is an entirely impresident. Both Megan
0:33
Speaker 1: Trainer and Marion Morris are examples other nominated artists with
0:36
Speaker 1: similar released background. So Lizzo is eligible. That's good news.
