- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Center, Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson
- 0:03Speaker 1: with you. It's nice to have you with us, and
- 0:05Speaker 1: we've got a packed show for you on this Monday morning,
- 0:09Speaker 1: including the very sad news that is coming out of Michigan.
- 0:14Speaker 1: An attack there on a church, a Michigan church shooting attack.
- 0:18Speaker 1: The new numbers we have are four dead, ten wounded
- 0:20Speaker 1: as of when we are recording this and centered it's
- 0:23Speaker 1: just another tragic event we're witnessing.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Well.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Unfortunately, this is a pattern we're seeing over and over
- 0:29Speaker 3: again of violent murderers attacking churches, attacking Christian schools, targeting
- 0:34Speaker 3: people of faith. In this case, it was the Church
- 0:39Speaker 3: of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, the Mormon church
- 0:42Speaker 3: in Grand Blank Township, Michigan. A deranged man drove his
- 0:48Speaker 3: truck through the front of the church while the church
- 0:51Speaker 3: members were worshiping, open fire, murdered as you said, four dead,
- 0:57Speaker 3: ten injured as of right now, and also set the
- 1:02Speaker 3: church on fire. All of us I think today saw
- 1:05Speaker 3: the images of the church a flame. And at this
- 1:09Speaker 3: point we don't know the details, we don't know the
- 1:11Speaker 3: motivations of why this deranged killer targeted this church, But
- 1:17Speaker 3: we've seen so much hatred for people of faith. And
- 1:20Speaker 3: I will say right now, my prayers and I know
- 1:22Speaker 3: yours too, men are with all of those who are wounded,
- 1:26Speaker 3: that they would reach a swift recovery. Where our prayers
- 1:29Speaker 3: are with the families of those who were murdered, and
- 1:32Speaker 3: everyone in the LDS church that is really just just
- 1:35Speaker 3: hurting right now at this persecution. It is another manifestation
- 1:41Speaker 3: of the hate that we have seen day after day
- 1:44Speaker 3: after day. And I very much pray our nation gets
- 1:47Speaker 3: beyond this vicious hate. Yeah, no doubt.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And I got to say law enforcement did an unbelievable
- 1:55Speaker 1: job of saving lives and showing up very quickly after
- 1:58Speaker 1: this heinous attack began, and probably save countless lives based
- 2:03Speaker 1: on the number of people that were inside and center.
- 2:05Speaker 1: This just goes back to a really important point that
- 2:08Speaker 1: we have got to stop demonizing law enforcement in this country.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The way that Democrats have continued to do that. Ice
- 2:14Speaker 1: agents is a great example of what we saw last week,
- 2:16Speaker 1: because these men and women who put on a badge
- 2:19Speaker 1: every day are willing to go into situations where they
- 2:22Speaker 1: don't even know what's going on and save people's lives.
- 2:24Speaker 1: They did it yet again in Michigan.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Well, you're exactly right, and I will say in Michigan,
- 2:30Speaker 3: law enforcement responded within minutes, came in and took out
- 2:34Speaker 3: the shooter, and no doubt saved a lot of lives,
- 2:38Speaker 3: including a lot of children. And later in the podcast,
- 2:41Speaker 3: we're going to talk about the consistent pattern of rhetoric
- 2:47Speaker 3: and demonizing law enforcement, demonizing ice that we have seen
- 2:51Speaker 3: from Democrats, and even in the face of these horrific murders,
- 2:54Speaker 3: Democrats keep ratcheting up the rhetoric and tragically that rhetoric
- 2:59Speaker 3: is in violence. We're going to lay that out in detail,
- 3:02Speaker 3: but before we do that, we're going to talk about
- 3:05Speaker 3: the impending Schumer shutdown. We are two days away from
- 3:08Speaker 3: the expiration of funding for the federal government, and I
- 3:13Speaker 3: believe it is highly likely that Chuck Schumer and the
- 3:15Speaker 3: Democrats will force a shutdown this Sunday. On the Sunday Shows,
- 3:21Speaker 3: the Democrats were out in force, all blaming the impending
- 3:25Speaker 3: shutdown on Donald Trump. Donald Trump, which is no surprise
- 3:28Speaker 3: because in their world everything is Donald Trump's fault. But
- 3:31Speaker 3: we're going to break down number one why it is
- 3:33Speaker 3: so likely that the Democrats are going to force the
- 3:36Speaker 3: Schumer shut down. But number two, what to expect? What
- 3:38Speaker 3: does it mean? What are the consequences of a government
- 3:41Speaker 3: shutdown if on midnight September thirtieth, the Democrats block funding
- 3:46Speaker 3: the government. We're going to explain it all to you
- 3:49Speaker 3: on today's pod.
- 3:50Speaker 1: All of you know that I am a pro Second
- 3:52Speaker 1: Amendment guide. I've shared on numerous occasions how caring my
- 3:56Speaker 1: firearms saved my life from a gang related attack. But
- 3:59Speaker 1: for those of you out there with family members who
- 4:02Speaker 1: may not be comfortable having a gun by their side,
- 4:04Speaker 1: you still want them to be able to protect themselves
- 4:07Speaker 1: and others in times of danger. And that's where the
- 4:10Speaker 1: Berno launcher comes in. Berna is a handheld pistol that
- 4:13Speaker 1: fires both kinetic rounds and chemical irritants to separate you
- 4:17Speaker 1: from an attacker. Berna is a handheld pistol that fires
- 4:21Speaker 1: both kinetic rounds and chemical irritants to separate you from
- 4:25Speaker 1: the attacker. I'm here today with Josh Cherard from Berna
- 4:29Speaker 1: to share the true story of how a California homeowner
- 4:32Speaker 1: used a burner launcher to stop a home intruder. Josh
- 4:36Speaker 1: tell us what happened.
- 4:37Speaker 4: You know, Bob Braid was one of the earliest adopters
- 4:39Speaker 4: of Berna back when we first started. He lived in
- 4:42Speaker 4: California in a residential suburb of la that was pretty
- 4:46Speaker 4: prone to a lot of vagrancy, a lot of homeless
- 4:48Speaker 4: walking up and down the street. He kept to Berna's
- 4:50Speaker 4: living room and one of these vagrants wandered in his home,
- 4:53Speaker 4: just confused, probably chunk and intoxicated in the wrong house.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Bob was able to pull his burner out, point it
- 4:59Speaker 4: out the intruder, who promptly backed out of the home
- 5:03Speaker 4: back into the yard. And of course it was all
- 5:05Speaker 4: taught on surveillance. He didn't even have to use the
- 5:07Speaker 4: Berna and he was able to ward off this intruder
- 5:11Speaker 4: in a situation that could have ended incredibly badly had
- 5:15Speaker 4: more force than used. This is a great demonstration of
- 5:17Speaker 4: how the lowest level of force can be used to
- 5:20Speaker 4: rectify a situation. And of course it was all caught
- 5:22Speaker 4: on video, which it makes for a great illustration of
- 5:26Speaker 4: how that burner can be used on a day to
- 5:27Speaker 4: day basis.
- 5:28Speaker 1: There's a lot of people are going to say, well,
- 5:29Speaker 1: why wouldn't the homeowner just use a gun in this case?
- 5:32Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, One, it comes down to the legality. You know,
- 5:35Speaker 4: in this part of California, it made me very difficult
- 5:37Speaker 4: to use a gun. And then two, we saw that
- 5:41Speaker 4: this intruder literally just stumbled into the wrong home in
- 5:44Speaker 4: an altered state of mind. Nobody wants to kill anybody
- 5:48Speaker 4: that doesn't need killing that they absolutely don't have to.
- 5:52Speaker 4: So this is a great instance where the burner was
- 5:54Speaker 4: able to be used, the lowest level of less legal
- 5:56Speaker 4: forces able to use rectify the situation without bringing a
- 5:59Speaker 4: gun into that situation.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I tell you I have one of these. My
- 6:03Speaker 1: family members do as well a lot of my friends.
- 6:05Speaker 1: If you want more information on how you or a
- 6:08Speaker 1: family member can protect themselves with a Berno launcher, go
- 6:11Speaker 1: to Berna by RNA dot com. That's burna dot com
- 6:16Speaker 1: by RNA dot com. Again, protect yourself and your family
- 6:21Speaker 1: burna by RNA dot com. All right, so let's get
- 6:25Speaker 1: into this shutdown, Senator, And this is a very interesting shutdown. Democrats.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Obviously they have a game plan. They were rolling it out,
- 6:34Speaker 1: as you mentioned on the Sunday shows, and what they're
- 6:37Speaker 1: clearly aiming for is a shutdown where they can say
- 6:40Speaker 1: this is Donald Trump's fault Hakeem Jeffries. He was on
- 6:44Speaker 1: TV about the government shutdown, unloading on the president and saying, look,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Republicans have behaved as consistent rubber stamps for Trump's extreme agenda,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and so therefore there has to be some accountability for that.
- 6:57Speaker 1: So this is a shutdown they're going to cause, even though,
- 7:00Speaker 1: as you mentioned, it's clearly a democratic shutdown if it happens.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Well, let me explain what a shutdown is and why
- 7:07Speaker 3: this is relevant. So, the way the federal government works
- 7:10Speaker 3: is the executive branch cannot spend money unless Congress has
- 7:15Speaker 3: appropriated that money. That's how the constitution works. That Congress
- 7:18Speaker 3: has to appropriate money in order for the executive to
- 7:22Speaker 3: make it expenditure of taxpayer funds, and typically those appropriations
- 7:27Speaker 3: are for a period of time. The fiscal year of
- 7:29Speaker 3: the federal government runs from October first to September thirtieth,
- 7:34Speaker 3: So at midnight on September thirtieth, the existing funding for
- 7:38Speaker 3: the federal government will expire. In order to continue funding,
- 7:42Speaker 3: Congress has to act. Now, the House has passed a
- 7:46Speaker 3: continuing resolution, it's also called a CR. A continuing resolution
- 7:50Speaker 3: essentially says nothing changes and the House's continuing resolution funds
- 7:56Speaker 3: the government until the middle of November. It changes no
- 7:59Speaker 3: policy at nothing. It just says everything that's happening. Now,
- 8:03Speaker 3: let's keep it going for a couple of months. The
- 8:06Speaker 3: House has passed it. It is now in the Senate.
- 8:10Speaker 3: In order for legislation to pass the Senate, it takes
- 8:13Speaker 3: sixty votes, that's the ordinary filibuster rule. A week ago
- 8:18Speaker 3: we took up the houses clean CR. There's no riders,
- 8:22Speaker 3: no attachments, nothing on it. It's just a clean let's
- 8:25Speaker 3: keep the government open. And the Democrats voted party line
- 8:28Speaker 3: against it. Now we cannot pass funding for the government
- 8:33Speaker 3: in the Senate unless at least seven Democrats vote for it.
- 8:37Speaker 3: We have fifty three Republicans, we need sixty. That means
- 8:41Speaker 3: if seven Democrats won't vote with us, nothing passes the Senate.
- 8:46Speaker 3: And a week ago the Democrats all lined up party line.
- 8:49Speaker 3: They are projecting right now we're going to vote this
- 8:51Speaker 3: week again on a clean CR. And mind you, this
- 8:55Speaker 3: is not a Republican piece of legislation. With it with
- 8:59Speaker 3: some made your Republican priority. I'd love to see some
- 9:01Speaker 3: Republican priorities in there, but this is not. This is
- 9:04Speaker 3: simply let's keep the lights on, let's keep the government open,
- 9:07Speaker 3: and the Democrats are lining up to say no. Now,
- 9:10Speaker 3: let me tell you why the Democrats are, I think
- 9:13Speaker 3: very likely to force a shutdown because several months ago,
- 9:17Speaker 3: when we had the last battle over government funding, Chuck
- 9:20Speaker 3: Schumer agreed to keep the government open, and the left
- 9:24Speaker 3: wing of his party lost their mind. AOC and all
- 9:28Speaker 3: of the woke radicals, the socialists got furious with Chuck Schumer.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Chuck Schumer's favorabilities plummeted, and I've got to tell you,
- 9:36Speaker 3: Chuck is terrified of being primary by AOC. His job
- 9:40Speaker 3: is in real jeopardy. And so I believe Schumer's made
- 9:43Speaker 3: a decision. He's going to shut the government down because
- 9:46Speaker 3: that's the way he proves to the crazies in his
- 9:48Speaker 3: party that he is a ferocious warrior. Now, let me
- 9:53Speaker 3: give you some quotes from multiple Democrats about government shutdowns.
- 9:56Speaker 3: And the only thing that was different on this is
- 9:59Speaker 3: that the time of the quotes, you had a Democrat
- 10:02Speaker 3: in the White House. So here's what Chuck Schumer said
- 10:04Speaker 3: in January of twenty twenty four quote. Passing a clean
- 10:08Speaker 3: cr this week is important for two main reasons. First,
- 10:11Speaker 3: passing the cr of course, will avert a harmful and
- 10:14Speaker 3: unnecessary government shutdown. No reasonable member on either side, Democrat
- 10:19Speaker 3: or Republican, wants a government shutdown. About Chris Murphy, one
- 10:24Speaker 3: of the biggest radicals in the Senate. In September of
- 10:27Speaker 3: twenty thirteen, Here's what he said, quote, there is a
- 10:30Speaker 3: time and place to debate healthcare, just like there is
- 10:33Speaker 3: a time and place to debate energy policy and immigration
- 10:36Speaker 3: and education. But not when the funding of the federal
- 10:38Speaker 3: government and all the lives are impacted by it hang
- 10:41Speaker 3: in the balance. How about Elizabeth Warrens same time, September
- 10:44Speaker 3: twenty thirteen. The least we can do, the bare minimum
- 10:48Speaker 3: that we can do, would be to pass a continued
- 10:51Speaker 3: resolution to keep the doors open and the lights on.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Threatening a shutdown is the last resort for those who
- 10:58Speaker 3: can't otherwise win their fights through elections, can't win their
- 11:01Speaker 3: fights in Congress, can't win their fights for the presidency,
- 11:04Speaker 3: and can't win their fights in courts. Here's what Brian
- 11:08Speaker 3: Shotts said in September of twenty twenty three. I've seen
- 11:13Speaker 3: the same thing over and over again. Shutdowns don't work.
- 11:16Speaker 3: The government eventually reopens, and neither side has accomplished a
- 11:20Speaker 3: single thing. No one wins, but Americans have a lot
- 11:23Speaker 3: to lose. Senator Mark Warner, September of twenty twenty four,
- 11:28Speaker 3: that's a year ago. Government shut downs unleash chaos on
- 11:32Speaker 3: federal workers, delay pay for service members, and weaken our
- 11:37Speaker 3: position on the global stage. Bernie Sanders in January of
- 11:43Speaker 3: twenty eighteen. Shutting down the government is a serious and
- 11:47Speaker 3: dangerous action. That's a terrible Bernie Sanders impersonation. Sorry about that.
- 11:53Speaker 3: That We must do everything possible to prevent shutting down
- 11:56Speaker 3: the government would impact tens of millions of our fellow
- 11:59Speaker 3: Americans who would be unable to access government services. It
- 12:03Speaker 3: would severely impact federal employees who would not get the
- 12:07Speaker 3: paychecks they expected. It would also have a very significant
- 12:11Speaker 3: impact on our armed forces. In other words, we must
- 12:14Speaker 3: do everything that we can to prevent a government shutdown.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Senator Mark Kelly, a supposed moderate from Maryland, September of
- 12:22Speaker 3: twenty twenty three. Quote. A government shutdown would have serious impacts.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Service members won't get their paychecks, airports could have major delays,
- 12:30Speaker 3: Nutrition assistance for children could be cut off. We can't
- 12:33Speaker 3: let any of that happen. Congress needs to work together
- 12:36Speaker 3: to prevent a shutdown. I literally have twenty more of
- 12:41Speaker 3: these quotes. Senator Tim Kane, January twenty nineteen. I'm a
- 12:45Speaker 3: Senator from Virginia. Some of the hardest effects of a
- 12:48Speaker 3: shutdown would be seen in my state. Well, you know what,
- 12:51Speaker 3: every one of these guys, I think it is very
- 12:53Speaker 3: likely they're going to vote in the next forty eight
- 12:55Speaker 3: hours to shut the government down. And it's not because
- 12:59Speaker 3: they think government shutdown is a good idea. It's because
- 13:02Speaker 3: their base just hates Trump and they want to have
- 13:05Speaker 3: a primal scream. And so I think the odds are
- 13:10Speaker 3: very high the Schumer shutdown will happen because he will
- 13:13Speaker 3: force the Democrats all to vote to shut the government down.
- 13:17Speaker 1: When you talk about this vote and when this goes down,
- 13:21Speaker 1: what's the time frame? And then how does he come
- 13:24Speaker 1: out of this getting Is it just a few days?
- 13:27Speaker 1: You think? Is this one of those that could turn
- 13:29Speaker 1: into weeks that we've seen in the past because or
- 13:32Speaker 1: is it just Hey, I did it. Therefore I really
- 13:34Speaker 1: am a radical Democrat, so therefore you should keep voting
- 13:37Speaker 1: for me instead of AOC.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Look, I think there's a chance this extends to weeks. Now,
- 13:42Speaker 3: let me explain what a shutdown means. A government shutdown
- 13:47Speaker 3: doesn't shut down every function of government. So the basic
- 13:51Speaker 3: principle is essential functions continue even when government funding has expired.
- 13:57Speaker 3: So what does that mean. The military continues to and
- 14:00Speaker 3: protect this nation. Law enforcement continues to serve. Border patrol
- 14:04Speaker 3: continues to serve. FBI agents continue to serve anyone who
- 14:08Speaker 3: is essential for the public safety continues to serve. Air
- 14:12Speaker 3: traffic controllers continue to serve. The Coast Guard continues to serve.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Throughout the government. What happens agency by agency is the
- 14:21Speaker 3: agency heads have to designate employees who are quote essential
- 14:27Speaker 3: and employees who are quote non essential, and the non
- 14:31Speaker 3: essential workers stay home. They stay home, they're not paid.
- 14:36Speaker 3: The government paychecks stop now typically after a shutdown, and
- 14:40Speaker 3: shutdowns can expend extend weeks or even longer. Typically, at
- 14:44Speaker 3: the end of the shutdown, the workers all come back
- 14:48Speaker 3: and they're paid back pay. So it actually costs the
- 14:51Speaker 3: federal government a lot of money and a lot of
- 14:54Speaker 3: functions that are non essential. So one of the classic
- 14:57Speaker 3: areas that will be shut down if Schum forces the
- 15:00Speaker 3: Schumer shutdown up will be national parks. So I will
- 15:04Speaker 3: say if you were planning this weekend to take your
- 15:07Speaker 3: family to a national park, if you're going to Yellowstone,
- 15:10Speaker 3: I would watch the news very closely because if the
- 15:13Speaker 3: Schumer shutdown happens, Yellowstone Park will be closed. If you're
- 15:16Speaker 3: planning to bring your family to DC to go to
- 15:18Speaker 3: the Smithsonian, the Smithsonian museums will be closed if the
- 15:22Speaker 3: Democrats force a shutdown. That being said, I will tell
- 15:27Speaker 3: you something that has changed the terrain very significantly. So
- 15:32Speaker 3: last week Russ Vote, who is the head of OMB
- 15:35Speaker 3: the Office of Management and Budget, put out a memo
- 15:38Speaker 3: to federal agencies and said, I want you to lay
- 15:43Speaker 3: out a plan if the Democrats force a shutdown to
- 15:48Speaker 3: terminate workers who are working government workers who are working
- 15:52Speaker 3: in areas that are not consistent with the President's agenda
- 15:57Speaker 3: and the priorities of this administration. I gotta tell you,
- 16:01Speaker 3: I feel a little bit like rare rabbit. Throw me
- 16:04Speaker 3: in that briar patch. I think if Schumer and the
- 16:07Speaker 3: Democrats force a shutdown, we're going to see the Trump
- 16:11Speaker 3: administration give pink slips, not furloughs, but terminate workers, and
- 16:16Speaker 3: in particular, terminate workers in government agencies that are critical
- 16:21Speaker 3: to Democrat priorities. So you could see workers in the
- 16:25Speaker 3: EPA being terminated. You can see workers in the Department
- 16:28Speaker 3: of Labor being terminated. You could see workers in the
- 16:31Speaker 3: irs being terminated and not just furloughed for a few days,
- 16:35Speaker 3: but handed to pink slip, given a reduction for saying
- 16:39Speaker 3: your services are no longer required. And I will tell
- 16:41Speaker 3: you if that happens this week, we will hear a
- 16:45Speaker 3: collective howl of agony from Democrats. And I'm willing to
- 16:50Speaker 3: bet so. Senators will all return to Washington on Monday.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Our first vote will be at five thirty Monday evening. Tuesday,
- 17:00Speaker 3: all the Democrat senators will have lunch together. All the
- 17:03Speaker 3: Republican senators will have lunch together. Given this memo from
- 17:06Speaker 3: the Trump White House, I'm going to predict that the
- 17:09Speaker 3: Democrat senators are going to be screaming at each other
- 17:12Speaker 3: in that lunch because they're going to be some Democrat
- 17:14Speaker 3: senators who say, do not give Trump the excuse to
- 17:19Speaker 3: lay off a bunch of workers who are who are
- 17:23Speaker 3: fighting for Democrat priorities and what we care about. And
- 17:28Speaker 3: I think Schumer is scared for his own political survival,
- 17:31Speaker 3: So I think he's going to try to force a
- 17:33Speaker 3: shut down anyway, but that memo has changed the dynamic
- 17:38Speaker 3: in a very real way, and so there is a
- 17:41Speaker 3: non zero chance that seven Democrats decide to heck with it.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I'm going to break with Schumer and vote to keep
- 17:47Speaker 3: the government open. That would be a good thing if
- 17:49Speaker 3: it happens. But we'll see what happens this week.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So let me ask you this question, because I think
- 17:53Speaker 1: it's an interesting one, and that is, should we secretly
- 17:57Speaker 1: be hoping this happens so that we get this those
- 18:01Speaker 1: jobs that many people say, Hey, I lay them off,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and let's get leaner as a government and stop all
- 18:07Speaker 1: the waste and abuse and the fraud and the overspending.
- 18:09Speaker 1: This would be in that kind of Doge mentality, or
- 18:12Speaker 1: is that a cautionary tale of like, hey, you may
- 18:15Speaker 1: think this is great, but it's really not.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I think that could end up being a
- 18:20Speaker 3: very good outcome. If the Democrats force this, It would
- 18:24Speaker 3: be worthwhile for them to feel a very real consequence
- 18:28Speaker 3: in terms of their constituencies who fund fund their endeavors,
- 18:33Speaker 3: losing the ability to promote their priorities and listen within
- 18:38Speaker 3: the federal government, within the deep state. There are a
- 18:40Speaker 3: great many bureaucrats who are left wing bureaucrats who are
- 18:44Speaker 3: fighting for the teachers' unions, who are fighting for the
- 18:48Speaker 3: radical environmental groups, And it would be good for America
- 18:53Speaker 3: for anyone that is actively undermining the country, actively undermining jobs,
- 18:58Speaker 3: actively un mining the ability of kids to get a
- 19:01Speaker 3: good education. It'd be good for America for those folks
- 19:04Speaker 3: to be terminated. And I do think if the Democrats
- 19:08Speaker 3: force a shutdown that President Trump will view that as
- 19:13Speaker 3: all the justification he needs to make permanent reductions and force,
- 19:19Speaker 3: which could be a very good outcome. I think what
- 19:20Speaker 3: will happen then is the Democrats will cave and the
- 19:23Speaker 3: government will be funded. And if the government shuts down
- 19:26Speaker 3: for a few days because the Democrats want to have
- 19:28Speaker 3: a temper tantrum at the end of the day, the
- 19:31Speaker 3: consequences of that are not enormous. They're going to blink,
- 19:35Speaker 3: They're going to give in because simply keeping the lights
- 19:40Speaker 3: on at the end of the day, they don't have
- 19:42Speaker 3: an argument against that.
- 19:44Speaker 1: So final question on this, and that is if this
- 19:48Speaker 1: does extend and everything happens and the shut down the
- 19:53Speaker 1: way that you described it, and what this really looks like,
- 19:55Speaker 1: at what point does this hurt the Democrats? Like, is
- 19:58Speaker 1: it weeks or months? In I mean, I mean we've
- 20:00Speaker 1: seen longer shutdowns that it does seem that shutdowns now
- 20:03Speaker 1: are just automatically taking a little bit longer.
- 20:07Speaker 3: So look, in the first Trump administration, we had a
- 20:10Speaker 3: lengthy Schumer shutdown. And at the time of the Schumer shutdown,
- 20:15Speaker 3: in the first Trump administration, uh, the federal government had
- 20:19Speaker 3: funded the military, had passed had passed funding for the military,
- 20:24Speaker 3: and so our active duty military soldiers, sailors, airmen, and
- 20:27Speaker 3: marines were getting their paychecks. But unfortunately, we had not
- 20:32Speaker 3: funded the Coast Guard. And the Coast Guard is funded
- 20:35Speaker 3: in a different title than than than than the remainder
- 20:40Speaker 3: of the military. And so I went to the to
- 20:42Speaker 3: the Senate floor and fought to fund our coast guardsmen.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Our coast guardsmen are are often left out. And by
- 20:50Speaker 3: the way, the coast guardsmen were going to work, that
- 20:54Speaker 3: they were protecting our border, that they were rescuing people
- 20:57Speaker 3: in distress. Uh, the they were doing the heroic work
- 21:01Speaker 3: that the Coastguard does every day, but they were not
- 21:03Speaker 3: getting their paychecks. And I'll tell you, the Democrats stood
- 21:06Speaker 3: up and objected and said no, we will not pay
- 21:10Speaker 3: the men and women of the Coastguard. I think you'll
- 21:13Speaker 3: see some of that that same effort if there is
- 21:16Speaker 3: a shutdown. You can anticipate that that multiple Republicans, myself included,
- 21:22Speaker 3: will go to the Senate floor and try to fund
- 21:25Speaker 3: individual portions of the government. Say, Okay, Chuck Schumer, you
- 21:28Speaker 3: want to shut the government down. How about the Coast Guard?
- 21:30Speaker 3: Will you pay for them? And the Democrats will probably object,
- 21:34Speaker 3: how about NIH the National Institutes for Health? Do you
- 21:36Speaker 3: want to fund them? Do you want to do cancer research?
- 21:39Speaker 3: Or do you want to shut that down? And my
- 21:41Speaker 3: prediction is the Democrats will object over and over and
- 21:44Speaker 3: over again to each of these individual funding efforts. And
- 21:48Speaker 3: part of the reason they'll do that is they're counting
- 21:51Speaker 3: on the media to be dishonest to try to blame
- 21:56Speaker 3: the shutdown on Trump. I think that is very hard
- 21:59Speaker 3: to do when the bill on the floor is a
- 22:03Speaker 3: clean cr All it is doing is continuing the status quo.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Will CNN and MSNBC and and and the corporate media
- 22:12Speaker 3: try to say that means it's Trump's fault that really
- 22:14Speaker 3: to keep the government open, he should spend over a
- 22:17Speaker 3: trillion dollars and give in to the democrats demands of
- 22:22Speaker 3: passing their extreme agenda. Sure, they'll try to say that,
- 22:25Speaker 3: but that's a hard argument.
- 22:27Speaker 4: And so.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I think you'll see lots of spinning. But part of
- 22:32Speaker 3: the problem is I think Democrats feel there are no
- 22:36Speaker 3: consequences to them when that when they embrace extreme positions,
- 22:40Speaker 3: and and so you could see an extended shutdown because
- 22:43Speaker 3: the first Schumer shutdown in the first Trump administration, I
- 22:46Speaker 3: think the Democrats felt they paid no political price for it, uh,
- 22:50Speaker 3: and and that probably emboldens them to force another shutdown.
- 22:54Speaker 1: You know, you talk about the extremism uh of the
- 22:57Speaker 1: Democratic Party. You're witnessing it now on this issue on
- 23:00Speaker 1: Capitol Hill. But we're also witnessing it with their rhetoric
- 23:03Speaker 1: that has not been toned down even since the assassination
- 23:07Speaker 1: of Charlie Kirk. And Democrats act like they're being moderates,
- 23:11Speaker 1: that they're not being radic or extreme. Well, we've got
- 23:13Speaker 1: the tapes now to prove that's just absurd.
- 23:17Speaker 3: No, that's exactly right. It is no matter how much
- 23:20Speaker 3: violence we see, the Democrats keep leaning in on their
- 23:24Speaker 3: extreme rhetoric. Just this weekend, Gavin Newsom tweeted out in
- 23:29Speaker 3: all caps, Stephen Miller is a fascist. That's the entirety
- 23:34Speaker 3: of the tweet. It's in all caps. Steven Miller is
- 23:37Speaker 3: the deputy White House Chief of Staff. And it is
- 23:41Speaker 3: by the way, as of the time that we are
- 23:43Speaker 3: recording this, it has twenty seven million views. So people
- 23:46Speaker 3: are seeing Gavin Newsom saying Steven Miller's a fascist. And
- 23:49Speaker 3: just to remind you, the bullet casings from the rounds
- 23:54Speaker 3: that were fired and murdered Charlie Kirk, among the things
- 23:58Speaker 3: etched on the bullet casings were, hey, fascist. Catch Gavin
- 24:04Speaker 3: Newsom knows that his staff knows that, and labeling Republicans
- 24:09Speaker 3: they disagree with as fascists is tragically. It is inviting
- 24:13Speaker 3: more and more violence. And I wish I could tell
- 24:17Speaker 3: you that Gavin Newsom was an outlier. He's not. Democrats
- 24:21Speaker 3: across the board are doing this. I want you to
- 24:24Speaker 3: listen to Hakim Jeffries on CNN and listen to just
- 24:28Speaker 3: how he's ratcheting the rhetoric up and up and up.
- 24:32Speaker 6: Give a listen when he was greeted formerly by former
- 24:37Speaker 6: President Joe Biden, and then of course at the Capitol
- 24:39Speaker 6: during the inauguration, which, by the way, was like a
- 24:42Speaker 6: super villain convention that the American people had the witness
- 24:45Speaker 6: and it's been a national nightmare ever since.
- 24:48Speaker 1: One question, right, super villain convention. So Charlie Kirk's assassinated
- 24:54Speaker 1: Democrats say they need to down you turn down the rhetoric.
- 24:57Speaker 1: And then we're what fourteen days later, and he's saying
- 25:00Speaker 1: that this was a super villain convention. That's not.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That was Friday Night, by the way, where he says
- 25:07Speaker 3: that the inauguration is supervillaant villain convention. Tim Waltz, governor
- 25:11Speaker 3: of Minnesota, obviously was Kamala Harris's vice presidential nominee, has
- 25:15Speaker 3: described Ice as quote the modern day Gestapo. JB. Brit Pritzker,
- 25:21Speaker 3: the governor of Illinois, claimed the country is becoming quote
- 25:25Speaker 3: Nazi Germany because Ice is quote grabbing people off the
- 25:29Speaker 3: street and disappearing them. Jasmine Crockett, who manages to never find,
- 25:37Speaker 3: never find a level two idiotic, two inflammatory, two over
- 25:42Speaker 3: the top that she's willing to go, she compared Ice
- 25:47Speaker 3: to quote slave patrols, and look, this is so extreme.
- 25:54Speaker 3: You know, there was something remarkable that happened in the
- 25:56Speaker 3: last couple of days. I don't know if you saw
- 25:57Speaker 3: this h Ice Cube the rapper.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yeah, his bus was attacked.
- 26:05Speaker 3: His bus was in Portland, Oregon, and it was firebombed
- 26:09Speaker 3: because these idiots saw the word ICE and thought that
- 26:12Speaker 3: Ice Cube was ICE, the Immigration Enforcement Agency. But like
- 26:19Speaker 3: these antifa leftist knuckleheads, you know, by the way, like
- 26:25Speaker 3: like Ice Tea and Ice ice Baby better like you know,
- 26:28Speaker 3: you know, cover up their name tags. Because the folks
- 26:31Speaker 3: that are angry are not terribly bright. But it is
- 26:35Speaker 3: a consequence of this demonizing of treating them. Look, it's
- 26:41Speaker 3: fine for one side or the other to say I
- 26:44Speaker 3: disagree with my opponents, they're wrong, their policy positions are
- 26:48Speaker 3: are harmful, they're a mistake. That that's the normal give
- 26:52Speaker 3: and take a political discourse. And there's something fundamentally different
- 26:57Speaker 3: when you scream fascist, not see gestapo, and you direct
- 27:02Speaker 3: it not only your political opponents who keep being the
- 27:05Speaker 3: victims of violence, but you direct it to law enforcement
- 27:07Speaker 3: into ICE. You know, I was just in Dallas at
- 27:11Speaker 3: the ICE facility where another deranged shooter unloaded on an
- 27:16Speaker 3: ICE facility. And it seems no matter how bad it gets,
- 27:21Speaker 3: the Democrats keep it up. We put together a montage.
- 27:25Speaker 3: I want you to listen. I'm gonna apologize to this,
- 27:27Speaker 3: apologize for this. I'm going to subject you to several
- 27:30Speaker 3: minutes of Democrats gone wild, just to show just how
- 27:37Speaker 3: elevated their rhetoric is and and how harmful it is.
- 27:41Speaker 3: So give a listen to this montage.
- 27:44Speaker 7: Donald Trump's modern Daescapo is scooping folks up off the streets.
- 27:49Speaker 7: They're in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to
- 27:52Speaker 7: foreign torture dungeons. No chance to mount of defense, not
- 27:56Speaker 7: even a chance to kiss the love one goodbye, just
- 27:58Speaker 7: grabbed up by massed agent, shoved into those vans and disappeared.
- 28:02Speaker 8: When you compare the old films of the Gestapo grabbing
- 28:07Speaker 8: grabbing people off the streets of Poland, and you compare
- 28:10Speaker 8: them to those nondescript thugs who grabbed that that student,
- 28:16Speaker 8: that graduate student, it does look like a Gestapo operation.
- 28:20Speaker 8: You know, my dad served in Second World War. He
- 28:24Speaker 8: fought the Nazis, and I think he's looking down right
- 28:27Speaker 8: now when he's happy that I'm fighting today's Nazis.
- 28:30Speaker 9: Because if we just roll this clock on the wall
- 28:33Speaker 9: back seventy five years we'd be looking at a time
- 28:37Speaker 9: and Nazi Germany where people ran around with signs like
- 28:41Speaker 9: this new ICE sign that says report all foreign invaders
- 28:46Speaker 9: to ICE, with Uncle Sam there holding up the sign.
- 28:50Speaker 9: This could have been a Gestapo member seventy five years ago,
- 28:53Speaker 9: report all Jews.
- 28:54Speaker 10: It's somebody who understands history.
- 28:57Speaker 2: When I see ICE, I see slave patrols.
- 29:00Speaker 11: Dangers that we saw in.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Nazi Germany are the dangers that we need to react
- 29:07Speaker 2: to now.
- 29:08Speaker 7: And another thirty billion dollars to hire and train ICE
- 29:12Speaker 7: agents who have functionally become a secret federal police force
- 29:16Speaker 7: with expanding domain.
- 29:18Speaker 12: An authoritarian government in Washington, DC is dispatching massed agents
- 29:23Speaker 12: to abduct immigrants from our streets.
- 29:26Speaker 13: To be coming out of our country. I mean, I
- 29:29Speaker 13: grew up in a dictatorship and I don't even remember
- 29:34Speaker 13: ever witnessing anything like that. To have a democracy, a
- 29:39Speaker 13: peacan of hope for the world to now be turned
- 29:44Speaker 13: into one of the you know, one of the worst countries,
- 29:49Speaker 13: where the military are in our streets without any regard
- 29:54Speaker 13: for people's constitutional rights, while our president is spending millions
- 29:59Speaker 13: of dollars bumpting himself up like a failed dictator.
- 30:03Speaker 11: Every single ICE agent who's engaged in this aggressive overreach
- 30:08Speaker 11: and are trying to hide their identities from the American
- 30:12Speaker 11: people will be unsuccessful in doing that. This is America.
- 30:16Speaker 11: It's not the Soviet Union, but not behind the Iron curtain.
- 30:19Speaker 11: This is not the nineteen thirties, and every single one
- 30:22Speaker 11: of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how
- 30:24Speaker 11: long it takes, will of course be identified.
- 30:27Speaker 14: This is not Germany, that's the ass and the good Stoppoh,
- 30:32Speaker 14: this is the United States of America.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Unmask yourself.
- 30:37Speaker 15: Just been overwhelming. I mean just watching everything online now
- 30:41Speaker 15: the ICE, you know, thugs and people do not want
- 30:46Speaker 15: to continue to watch people fund this kind of extraction
- 30:51Speaker 15: is going to violence. Yeah, it's violence.
- 30:53Speaker 10: The other things and all the other cuts pays for
- 30:58Speaker 10: a massive increase in the masked secret police that are
- 31:03Speaker 10: terrorized in our communities. ICE.
- 31:07Speaker 12: This is despicable. It's un American. I called ICE the
- 31:11Speaker 12: modern day Gestapo a few months ago, and some people
- 31:14Speaker 12: thought that was going too far. I thought that was
- 31:16Speaker 12: too extreme. God angry at me for saying that. Well,
- 31:19Speaker 12: come on, like that's literally what's going on.
- 31:21Speaker 7: You have called to abolish ICE.
- 31:24Speaker 15: How do we achieve a future that's post ICE.
- 31:30Speaker 16: How do we achieve a future free of terrorism by
- 31:35Speaker 16: abolishing ICE.
- 31:36Speaker 5: ICE is a terrorist organization.
- 31:38Speaker 17: It needs to be defunded, it needs to be abolished.
- 31:40Speaker 16: We're seeing aggressive Gestapo type tactics in people being approached
- 31:47Speaker 16: on the street, in their home, at the clinic, at church,
- 31:52Speaker 16: at all kinds of locations. That's why this morning on
- 31:56Speaker 16: the House of the Floor, I warned the American people
- 32:00Speaker 16: that this is looking like the American Gestapo in the making.
- 32:04Speaker 5: I think we need to be really active at like
- 32:06Speaker 5: challenging what ICE is doing on every front we can,
- 32:10Speaker 5: and obviously being ready in the case of Trump trying
- 32:14Speaker 5: to call in the National Guard or whatever federalized national Guard.
- 32:17Speaker 18: I can't see how anybody can say they're a Christian
- 32:20Speaker 18: and treat someone from another land in their own land
- 32:23Speaker 18: this way. It's mean, is what it is. It's mean spirited.
- 32:28Speaker 18: A lot of these folks are being picked up by
- 32:31Speaker 18: you know, hooded thugs in the street in the most
- 32:33Speaker 18: Unamerican ways.
- 32:34Speaker 19: ICE agents without visible ideas, without any official markings on them,
- 32:41Speaker 19: with masks, they're as they're acting more like vigilantes than
- 32:47Speaker 19: of agents of our government.
- 32:49Speaker 17: Because we don't live in a country, an authoritarian country
- 32:53Speaker 17: where we have secret police who are masked, who are intimidating,
- 32:59Speaker 17: who are scaring people. That's the stuff of authoritarian states.
- 33:04Speaker 17: That is not the stuff of the That's not how
- 33:06Speaker 17: the United States operate.
- 33:08Speaker 2: He sent out ice and border patrol to intimidate folks
- 33:13Speaker 2: from walking in to our event. He end up arresting
- 33:17Speaker 2: this poor soul that was just trying to sell strawberries
- 33:20Speaker 2: as collateral damage to intimidate us. That is a previous
- 33:23Speaker 2: stephen of things to come in voting bruce and polling
- 33:26Speaker 2: places across this country. And the ice issue is alarming
- 33:30Speaker 2: beyond words. It is the private, largest private domestic army
- 33:35Speaker 2: of its type police force anywhere in the world. He'll
- 33:38Speaker 2: have thirty thousand people that increasingly appear to be swearing
- 33:42Speaker 2: an oathabamus to him, not the constitution of the United States. Again,
- 33:46Speaker 2: wake up to what's going on in this country. That's
- 33:50Speaker 2: happening in the United States of America. Masked men jumping
- 33:53Speaker 2: out of unmarked cars, people disappearing, no due process, no oversight,
- 33:58Speaker 2: zero accountability. In the United States of America. Today, people ask, well,
- 34:02Speaker 2: is authoritarianism? You're being hyperbolic, We're being hyperbolic if you're
- 34:07Speaker 2: a black and brown community. It's here in this country.
- 34:10Speaker 14: I have heard enough in the last couple of weeks
- 34:14Speaker 14: about ICE agents and wearing masks that I think when
- 34:20Speaker 14: we win the majority in the House, you're going to
- 34:22Speaker 14: see enough Democrats make it a priority for ICE enforcement
- 34:28Speaker 14: that they are no longer faceless. It looks too much
- 34:32Speaker 14: like some eighteen hundred's bank robber or you know, some
- 34:36Speaker 14: KGB officer in Russia, you know, pulling protesters off the streets.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Senator, you listen to that, and it's very clear that
- 34:44Speaker 1: Democrats get talking points and they stick with them. And
- 34:48Speaker 1: when they do this, they're doing it on purpose to
- 34:51Speaker 1: undermine the rule of law. They're to undermine law enforcement.
- 34:54Speaker 1: We've seen them do so the Supreme Court as well.
- 34:56Speaker 1: There's quite a few, quite a few examples recently of
- 35:01Speaker 1: them really just using their words to turn people to
- 35:04Speaker 1: hate someone, to hate law enforcement, to hate police, to
- 35:07Speaker 1: hate the Supreme Court, to hate law and order. And
- 35:11Speaker 1: yet they say they want to ratchet down, but they're not.
- 35:13Speaker 1: They're doing the complete opposite of that.
- 35:16Speaker 3: So, and Ben, let me ask, is so one of
- 35:17Speaker 3: the key Democrat talking points that they keep repeating is
- 35:20Speaker 3: they say that ICE are fascist or Nazis are good
- 35:23Speaker 3: stappo because they're wearing masks. Let me ask you why
- 35:27Speaker 3: is ICE wearing masks so they're not docksed.
- 35:31Speaker 1: That's what it boils down to, so that they're not
- 35:33Speaker 1: outed by the same people that have maps of where
- 35:36Speaker 1: ICE agents are, so that you can go after them
- 35:39Speaker 1: if you want to.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I mean so Democrats, including Hakeem Jeffries, have called for
- 35:44Speaker 3: unmasking ICE, identifying them and going after them. And look,
- 35:48Speaker 3: that's putting ICE law enforcement officers at risk, that's putting
- 35:52Speaker 3: their spouses at risk, that's putting their children at risk.
- 35:55Speaker 3: This lunatic in Dallas used an app, the ICE Finder
- 35:59Speaker 3: to go find the facility, to to get up on
- 36:02Speaker 3: the roof with a bolt action rifle and fire multiple rounds,
- 36:07Speaker 3: murdering two people. And and look, I understand. I think
- 36:12Speaker 3: it's perfectly reasonable if you're an ICE agent not to
- 36:15Speaker 3: want a bunch of angry radicals who want to harm
- 36:18Speaker 3: you and your family to be to be able to
- 36:20Speaker 3: doc you. This is a direct result and it's not
- 36:23Speaker 3: fringe people. Hakeem Jeffrey stood at the podium and said,
- 36:27Speaker 3: unmask these guys and go after them, and that tragically
- 36:31Speaker 3: lunatics are listening to them.
- 36:33Speaker 18: Yeah, they really are.
- 36:34Speaker 1: We're gonna keep exposing it and keep calling them out
- 36:37Speaker 1: when they do it. Don't forget. We do this show Monday,
