- 0:00Mark Chapter 16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene and
- 0:05Mary, the mother of James and Salome, bought spices so that
- 0:09they might come and anoint him. Very early on the first day of
- 0:12the week they came to the tomb. When the sun had risen, they
- 0:15were saying to one another, Who will roll away the stone for us
- 0:18from the entrance of the tomb. Looking up, they saw that the
- 0:21stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large.
- 0:25Entering the tomb they saw a young man sitting at the right
- 0:28wearing a white robe, and they were amazed.
- 0:31And he said to them, do not be amazed.
- 0:34You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been
- 0:36crucified. He has risen, He is not here.
- 0:40Behold, here is the place where they laid him.
- 0:43But go tell his disciples and Peter, He is going ahead of you
- 0:46to Galilee. There you will see him, just as
- 0:49he told you. They went out and fled from the
- 0:51tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them.
- 0:55And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
- 0:58Now, after he had risen early on the first day of the week, he
- 1:01first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast
- 1:04out seven demons. She went and reported to those
- 1:06who had been with him while they were mourning and weeping.
- 1:09When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her,
- 1:12they refused to believe it. After that he appeared in a
- 1:15different form to two of them while they were walking along on
- 1:18their way to the country. They went away and reported it
- 1:21to the others, but they did not believe them either.
- 1:25Afterward he appeared to the 11 themselves as they were
- 1:27reclining at the table, and he reproached them for their
- 1:30unbelief in hardness of heart, because they had not believed
- 1:33those who had seen him after he had risen.
- 1:35And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel
- 1:38to all creation. He who has believed and has been
- 1:41baptized shall be saved, but he who has disbelieved shall be
- 1:44condemned. These signs will accompany those
- 1:47who have believed in My name. They will cast out demons.
- 1:50They will speak with new tongues, they will pick up
- 1:52serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison it will not hurt
- 1:55them. They will lay hands on the sick,
- 1:57and they will recover. So then when the Lord Jesus had
- 2:00spoken to them, he was received up into heaven and sat down at
- 2:04the right hand of God, and they went out and preached
- 2:07everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed
- 2:10the word by the signs that followed.
