- 0:01Speaker 1: The Biden crime family today is having a really tough day.
- 0:05Speaker 1: There are new reports out that Hunter Biden and his
- 0:08Speaker 1: press conference, which has been seen as a backfire even
- 0:12Speaker 1: by the Democratic Leeds, are now saying that Hunter Biden
- 0:15Speaker 1: is a real problem for the presidency. New report also
- 0:20Speaker 1: says Hunter is a quote loose speedball on Joe's sinking
- 0:26Speaker 1: USS reelection. On Wednesday, while defying a legal congressional subpoena,
- 0:32Speaker 1: Hunter Biden decided to hold that news conference that we
- 0:34Speaker 1: played for you, and if you missed it, you can
- 0:36Speaker 1: go back and grab that podcast from yesterday. And the
- 0:40Speaker 1: White House's reelection team was not happy about it at all. Now,
- 0:45Speaker 1: let me just read for you what they reported on
- 0:48Speaker 1: this in Axios. Now, the Axios is a publication online
- 0:53Speaker 1: that is a far left publication.
- 0:56Speaker 2: They're not looking for conservative readers.
- 0:58Speaker 1: They're base is like MSNBC or even more extreme than that.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But let me just read for you, and look, Excess
- 1:06Speaker 1: has extensive tentacles into the Biden White House and the
- 1:11Speaker 1: Biden apparatus at every level of government.
- 1:14Speaker 2: That's why them writing this means.
- 1:16Speaker 1: That there's a lot of people that are really upset
- 1:19Speaker 1: about this that work for the president of United States
- 1:21Speaker 1: of America and within the Democratic Party.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Quote.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Hunter's new strategy has caused tension between his team and
- 1:29Speaker 1: the White House.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Top aids the President.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Biden originally crafted a plan to largely not respond to
- 1:34Speaker 1: attacks and conservative media coverage of Hunter Biden, a risk
- 1:39Speaker 1: adverse approach to avoid giving stories more oxygen. But Hunter's
- 1:44Speaker 1: team ultimately wasn't satisfied the media coverage didn't die down.
- 1:48Speaker 1: His team has come to believe that his lack of
- 1:51Speaker 1: a response was alienating potential Democratic allies and hurting his
- 1:57Speaker 1: father politically. Hunter's team keeps quote the White House and
- 2:01Speaker 1: Joe Biden informed of his plans. The report continues, but
- 2:06Speaker 1: the President's team has far less control over hunter strategy
- 2:09Speaker 1: than it once had. Yet, Hunter the deadbeat Dad is
- 2:14Speaker 1: a loose speedball on Joe's sinking re election ship.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It gets better. The White House is.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Concerned that if voters believe Hunters corrupt, they'll see Joe
- 2:26Speaker 1: Biden as a suspect too.
- 2:29Speaker 2: You think now.
- 2:31Speaker 1: After that disastrous Wednesday afternoon news conference, Hunter ran to
- 2:34Speaker 1: his pals and defenders at Axios to unleash this beauty,
- 2:38Speaker 1: saying quote Republicans quote unquote have weaponized my dad's love
- 2:42Speaker 1: for me and turned his greatest strength, his compassion, his
- 2:46Speaker 1: empathy is authenticity into evidence of corrupt complicity. Weaponize my
- 2:53Speaker 1: dad's love for me. That was the main line. Who
- 2:56Speaker 1: do you get that from some twelve year old girl?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Poetry journal? That's what one writer said. What is even
- 3:03Speaker 1: more laughable is the idea that Hunter is doing all
- 3:05Speaker 1: of this to help his father. This is a hormonger
- 3:09Speaker 1: so selfish that while he was spending eight hundred and
- 3:12Speaker 1: seventy two thousand dollars on sex, he was fighting paying
- 3:16Speaker 1: child support payments for his own daughter, an innocent baby girl.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Just to put it perspective, and notice how the media
- 3:24Speaker 1: has not made that point. So let's pause there and
- 3:27Speaker 1: just really go into that for a second. At the
- 3:30Speaker 1: same time that he was spending one hundred and eighty
- 3:33Speaker 1: seven thousand dollars on sex trafficking, okay, on prostitutes, he
- 3:38Speaker 1: refused to pay and was fighting to pay child support
- 3:41Speaker 1: and even acknowledging that his child was his own child,
- 3:45Speaker 1: an innocent child in Arkansas. The same Biden family that
- 3:51Speaker 1: claims they care about you as an American citizen and
- 3:54Speaker 1: whatever you're dealing with right now, refused to allow that
- 3:58Speaker 1: child to take the.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Biden last name.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Never forget that they then refused to give the adequate
- 4:05Speaker 1: and appropriate documentation for the amount of money that he
- 4:09Speaker 1: was making, and then every indication was that he was
- 4:12Speaker 1: lying about his income to the point where she had
- 4:15Speaker 1: to lawyer up and drag his again, this deadbeat dad's
- 4:20Speaker 1: aas into court. The same time all of that was
- 4:25Speaker 1: going on, and this lady who he had a child
- 4:28Speaker 1: with was having to fight this legal battle and refusing
- 4:32Speaker 1: to acknowledge the existence of his kid. Do not forget
- 4:35Speaker 1: that the President of the United States was also refusing
- 4:39Speaker 1: to acknowledge the existence of his own grandchild that he
- 4:42Speaker 1: knew obviously was his. We also know that he refused
- 4:45Speaker 1: to pay child support to the point where he was
- 4:48Speaker 1: forced to take a DNA test so that then he
- 4:51Speaker 1: would finally start having to pay some sort of child support,
- 4:55Speaker 1: and he has fought every step of the way to
- 4:57Speaker 1: stop the money going to that child. Now, during Hunter's
- 5:01Speaker 1: news conference, where he took no questions, not that he
- 5:04Speaker 1: would have been asked anything difficult, right, the House of
- 5:07Speaker 1: Representatives voted to open that impeachment inquiry into Hunter's dat
- 5:11Speaker 1: for a whole host of alleged crimes and misdemeanors. Additionally,
- 5:18Speaker 1: the houseoversde Committee has also launched a contempt of Congress
- 5:21Speaker 1: charges against Hunter for ignoring their subpoena after former White
- 5:26Speaker 1: House aide Peter Navarro and Stephen K. Bann ignored their
- 5:29Speaker 1: respective stupid January sixth Committee subpoenas. Both of them guess
- 5:33Speaker 1: what were indicted by the DOJ, which brings me to
- 5:38Speaker 1: the contempt of Congress proceedings that have been initiated against
- 5:42Speaker 1: Hunter Biden, and it does have the potential idea of
- 5:46Speaker 1: jail time as well as a fine. That's only if
- 5:49Speaker 1: the DOJ will take up these charges the same way
- 5:52Speaker 1: they did against Stephen K.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Bannon. The others I just.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Mentioned the House Overside Committee Chairman James Comer and the
- 5:58Speaker 1: Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan initial shid the contempt to
- 6:00Speaker 1: Congress proceedings against Hunter Biden after the President's sun failed
- 6:04Speaker 1: to appear for that subpoena of that closed door deposition
- 6:07Speaker 1: on Wednesday, the same type of definite deposition that the
- 6:11Speaker 1: children of the then sitting President United States of America
- 6:14Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump had to sit for and did sit
- 6:17Speaker 1: for now I have prosecuted and convicted to contempt of Congress.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Hunter's punishment could be up to one hundred thousand dollars fine,
- 6:24Speaker 1: as well as time in jail. A deposition is a
- 6:28Speaker 1: standard procedure used by congressional investigators. The two men stated
- 6:33Speaker 1: Democrats use depositions and their investigations regularly, including the Adam
- 6:38Speaker 1: Schiff impeachment inquiry, as well as the partisan January sixth Committee.
- 6:42Speaker 1: The House Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskins, a Democrat,
- 6:46Speaker 1: emphasized the importance of standard closed door depositions.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Quote.
- 6:50Speaker 1: We will not provide special treatment because his last name
- 6:53Speaker 1: is Biden. Coleman and Jordan wrote in their latest letter,
- 6:56Speaker 1: as our committees were today prepared to opose on Hunter
- 6:59Speaker 1: by Biden, he chose to make a public statement on
- 7:03Speaker 1: Capitol Hill instead, where he said his father, Joe Biden,
- 7:07Speaker 1: was not financially involved in his father's business dealings. Now
- 7:12Speaker 1: Representative Matt Gates came out and he said this. Peter
- 7:15Speaker 1: Navarro and Steve Bannon were indicted on contempt charges for
- 7:18Speaker 1: not complying with the illegitimate January sixth Committee. There was
- 7:21Speaker 1: no basis to comply with the Democrats fake committee. I
- 7:24Speaker 1: believe Hunter Biden should be held in contempted to Congress
- 7:27Speaker 1: for defying a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee. But
- 7:29Speaker 1: it's clear the corrupt White House and corrupt DJ will
- 7:33Speaker 1: protect their own from prosecuting prosecution while shamelessly targeting their
- 7:37Speaker 1: political enemies. Matthew Graves, the DC attorney who prosecuted Navarro
- 7:41Speaker 1: and Bannon, worked on the presidential campaign for Joe Biden
- 7:44Speaker 1: and other Democrats. I doubt we'll see what we'll be
- 7:48Speaker 1: seeing the same indictments against Hunter. This process will not
- 7:52Speaker 1: be fixed until we initiate total retribution against the deep
- 7:56Speaker 1: state for what they're doing to our country. I cannot disagree,
- 8:00Speaker 1: by the way, with what Matt Gates put out there
- 8:02Speaker 1: in his statement on X and here goes. Let's go
- 8:06Speaker 1: back to the other question here, number one. Exactly how
- 8:09Speaker 1: was Joe Biden involved? Is what the question that we
- 8:13Speaker 1: all are asking and the question that should be answered,
- 8:16Speaker 1: because evidence shows that Biden met with Hunter's business associates
- 8:20Speaker 1: and his name was at the center of the family
- 8:22Speaker 1: business strategy the entire time. What was the product? What
- 8:25Speaker 1: were they getting from Hunter Biden? Was he giving them widgets? Now?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Was he an expert in any of the fields that
- 8:30Speaker 1: he was operating in.
- 8:31Speaker 3: No?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Was Hunter Biden actually giving them a product that they
- 8:35Speaker 1: were purchasing for millions and millions and millions of dollars. No,
- 8:39Speaker 1: So what was the business? The business was selling access
- 8:42Speaker 1: to the father. The business didn't exists without Joe Biden's
- 8:44Speaker 1: position of power in the government, and it doesn't exist
- 8:47Speaker 1: without Joe Biden being the Vice President and now the
- 8:49Speaker 1: President of United States of America.
- 8:52Speaker 2: So the two men, Jordan and Comer said this.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Today, the House will vote on an impeachment inquiry resolution
- 8:58Speaker 1: to strengthen our legal case in the courts as we
- 9:01Speaker 1: face obstruction for the White House and witnesses.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And that's the real takeaway here. What we are.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Saying now and the reason why you move forward this
- 9:09Speaker 1: impeachment inquiry resolution is in the right to strengthen the
- 9:13Speaker 1: legal case in the courts because they are facing obstruction
- 9:17Speaker 1: for the White House and from witnesses.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Quote.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Today's obstruction by Hunter Biden reinforces the need for a
- 9:23Speaker 1: formal vote. Let me also say this, even the media
- 9:27Speaker 1: is not buying Hunter Biden's excuse. That's why this press
- 9:30Speaker 1: conference is backfired. Just in such a grand way. I'll
- 9:35Speaker 1: give you an example at CNN. John Berman, a former
- 9:39Speaker 1: colleague of mine who's no conservative, was talking with Democratic
- 9:44Speaker 1: Representative Meeks on Capitol Hill. The GOP has just come
- 9:48Speaker 1: out when he's asking the questions saying, look, we're vowing
- 9:51Speaker 1: to hold Hunter Biden contempt of Congress for defying the subpoena.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And of course the Democrats are coming to Hunter Biden's aid.
- 9:59Speaker 2: But listen to what was said. This is truly amazing,
- 10:02Speaker 2: clear clear.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Donald Trump Junior, Donald Trump Junior did appear in various depositions.
- 10:08Speaker 3: So why then is Hunter Biden different than Donald Trump Junior,
- 10:11Speaker 3: who did testify behind closed doors.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Well, Donald Trump Junior testified and he had a choice. Also,
- 10:22Speaker 4: I think that if he had said he wanted to
- 10:24Speaker 4: testify in a public flaw, he would have been granted
- 10:27Speaker 4: the ability to testify in a public farm. I think
- 10:31Speaker 4: Donald Trump Junior would not want to testify in the
- 10:34Speaker 4: public forum.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I think that it's more important so that the public
- 10:37Speaker 2: can see.
- 10:38Speaker 1: By the way, that's not the question that he was asked,
- 10:40Speaker 1: you know how their footmness.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Well, he wouldn't want to do a public form.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I actually think Donald Trump junior would love to do
- 10:46Speaker 1: a public form. There's a reason why Democrats didn't bring
- 10:48Speaker 1: him before a public form. They did them behind closed doors.
- 10:51Speaker 1: The Republicans, by the way, have offered both.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Of these things.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And this is how much of scumbaggery there is within
- 10:58Speaker 1: the Socialist Communist Rxist Democratic Party. And Berman's opening line
- 11:03Speaker 1: there quote just to be clear, Donald Trump Junior, Donald
- 11:05Speaker 1: Trump Junior did appear in various depositions. So why that
- 11:09Speaker 1: is Hunter Biden different than Donald Trump Junior who did
- 11:12Speaker 1: testify behind closed doors? And Meek's like, well, he did
- 11:14Speaker 1: it behind closed doors, we wouldn't do it in public.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So he's.
- 11:18Speaker 1: So you want to talk about an argument of what
- 11:21Speaker 1: about is this is it for the Democrats?
- 11:23Speaker 2: And keep listening to his closing remark what's taking place
- 11:27Speaker 2: in that regards? And so Donald Trump, I believe junior.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Did not necessarily want the public to hear to see
- 11:34Speaker 4: what he had to say.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And Joe and Biden does want.
- 11:40Speaker 4: To testify in a public forum to the welcome see
- 11:43Speaker 4: the questions that.
- 11:44Speaker 5: I ask of him.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I mean, for a party that claims they're all about transparency,
- 11:50Speaker 1: they are falling all over themselves to make sure that
- 11:54Speaker 1: Hunter Biden doesn't have to testify, and if he's done
- 11:57Speaker 1: nothing wrong, then he's want to testify. I would want
- 12:02Speaker 1: to testify. I'd be like, let's go. And that's the
- 12:06Speaker 1: reason why the Trump children testified. Number One, they were subpoenas,
- 12:10Speaker 1: so they didn't have a choice right and they knew
- 12:12Speaker 1: they'd be held in contempt if they didn't go, so
- 12:14Speaker 1: they went.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It was an abuse of power. They still went.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Now, James Comer also had this to say on the
- 12:20Speaker 1: subpoenas and the documents, and he says, we are going
- 12:23Speaker 1: to court and we are going to win.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Listen to what he had to say on Fox Business.
- 12:29Speaker 6: I mean, this impeachment inquiry now is formalized. Congressman, what
- 12:33Speaker 6: does this get you? Do you think they are going
- 12:35Speaker 6: to stop blowing off your subpoenas. Do you really feel
- 12:38Speaker 6: like they're going to actually come to the table and
- 12:40Speaker 6: try to work with you on all of this.
- 12:43Speaker 7: Well, we're going to court and we're going to win
- 12:46Speaker 7: in court. We have built up a case I think
- 12:48Speaker 7: we put won in court before the impeachment inquiry.
- 12:51Speaker 2: But this impeachment.
- 12:52Speaker 7: Inquiry and the fact that it was a unanimous vote
- 12:54Speaker 7: among the majority party in the House Representatives. I think
- 12:58Speaker 7: that the Democrats are going to have to think long
- 13:00Speaker 7: and hard before they go to court, because we will
- 13:03Speaker 7: win in court and we expect to get the documents
- 13:06Speaker 7: that we've requested. Most of these emails should have been
- 13:09Speaker 7: available through for you requests, through Freedom of Information Act
- 13:12Speaker 7: request and they've blocked that. So they've violated so many
- 13:17Speaker 7: minor laws that really don't have time to talk about.
- 13:20Speaker 7: It's the major laws, you know, the money launder and
- 13:23Speaker 7: the influence peddling, the bribery. I mean, these are serious,
- 13:27Speaker 7: serious violations of the law, not to mention tax evasion
- 13:31Speaker 7: and tax fraud.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Wow, incredible, and you also mentioned securities.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Frauduct securities fraud as well. So we're going to go
- 13:39Speaker 1: to court and we're going to win in court. We
- 13:41Speaker 1: have built up a case. I think we would have
- 13:45Speaker 1: won in court before the impeachment inquiry. But this impeachment
- 13:48Speaker 1: inquiry and the fact that it's was a unanimous vote
- 13:51Speaker 1: among the majority party in the House of Representatives, I
- 13:55Speaker 1: think that the Democrats are going to have to think
- 13:56Speaker 1: long and hard before they go to court, because we
- 14:00Speaker 1: will win in court. That is a response of James Comer,
- 14:04Speaker 1: a very by the way important response to understand the
- 14:08Speaker 1: reason why they have done this the way they've done
- 14:11Speaker 1: it and gone so methodically through.
- 14:13Speaker 2: This is very very very very clear.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Now they're trying to connect these dots the right way,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and there are so many out there that are now
- 14:25Speaker 1: looking at what has happened and looking now that you
- 14:28Speaker 1: have two things here, evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens
- 14:31Speaker 1: and I'm talking about Joe Biden and evidence of wrongdoing
- 14:34Speaker 1: by Hunter Biden and now defying the subpoena, and you
- 14:37Speaker 1: understand why there's so much heartburn for the Democratic Party
- 14:40Speaker 1: today and so much heartburn at the White House because
- 14:43Speaker 1: they're at a point now where it's like, well, what
- 14:45Speaker 1: do we do right now? There's also another narrative that's
- 14:48Speaker 1: come out here, and I also want you to understand this.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But first I want to tell you about a company
- 14:53Speaker 1: that I really want you to check out. For ten years,
- 14:56Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile has been America's only Christian conservative wireless provide.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And when I say the only one, I mean it.
- 15:02Speaker 2: They're the only one.
- 15:03Speaker 1: They make a huge difference every time that you pay
- 15:06Speaker 1: your bill because they actually get back to conservative causes
- 15:09Speaker 1: and organizations to help you stand up for what you
- 15:13Speaker 1: believe in. While you're paying a bill, you're going to
- 15:15Speaker 1: have anyways, this is the part that I love about
- 15:19Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile.
- 15:20Speaker 2: They're making a difference.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Every time you pay your bill, every time you make
- 15:24Speaker 1: a phone call, every time that you send a text message,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile actually gives money back to protect First and
- 15:32Speaker 1: Second Amendment rights, to protect the lives of unborn children.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And that's what they're doing right now is they celebrate
- 15:39Speaker 1: their tenth anniversary. If you switch right now to Patriot Mobile,
- 15:44Speaker 1: they are going to give a donation to help protect
- 15:47Speaker 1: life and to help mothers choose life to an organization
- 15:51Speaker 1: that does everything they can to protect the lives of
- 15:55Speaker 1: unborn children. Then every month when you pay your bill,
- 15:58Speaker 1: they're going to continue to report the causes that I
- 16:01Speaker 1: just mentioned. And this is exactly why you need to
- 16:04Speaker 1: make the switch. If you're tired of woke companies, switch
- 16:09Speaker 1: your cell phone to Patriot Mobile. Whether you are a business,
- 16:13Speaker 1: a small business, or just a family, you can switch
- 16:16Speaker 1: and they make switching easy. They have a one hundred
- 16:19Speaker 1: percent US based call center making switching extremely easy. You're
- 16:23Speaker 1: gonna get nationwide coverage, unlimited talking texts, and usually save
- 16:27Speaker 1: real money. On your bill nine seven to two Patriot.
- 16:30Speaker 1: It's nine seven to two Patriot, nine seven to two Patriot.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Or go online to Patriot Mobile dot com slash ben.
- 16:38Speaker 1: That's Patriot Mobile dot com slash ben or nine seven
- 16:42Speaker 1: to two Patriot. MSNBC is throwing around this new conspiracy
- 16:47Speaker 1: theory that quote Biden's impeachment inquiry is quote Trump's retribution.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Trump is not in charge of the Senate. He's barely that.
- 16:54Speaker 1: The Republicans are barely in charge of the House, and
- 16:56Speaker 1: they don't have the White House, they don't have the
- 16:58Speaker 1: presidency of the vice presidency or the dog the FBI.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But even MSNBC now realizes there's so many problems for
- 17:04Speaker 1: the Bidens they got to come.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Up with a new conspiracy theory.
- 17:06Speaker 1: So this is their new conspiracy they floated about a
- 17:09Speaker 1: half hour ago.
- 17:11Speaker 8: The fact that there is no probably doesn't bother the
- 17:14Speaker 8: likes of Jim Jordan. I think Representative McGovern got it
- 17:18Speaker 8: right when he said when Trump asks them to jump,
- 17:22Speaker 8: they say how high, and.
- 17:24Speaker 2: That they're now jumping. They're not jumping for Trump.
- 17:27Speaker 8: This is his retribution and it's a pr a pr
- 17:31Speaker 8: very cynical, pr driven attempt to Bess much Biden without
- 17:36Speaker 8: any evidence.
- 17:37Speaker 2: No evidence.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So they're just this is Biden's impeachment inquiry is Trump's retribution.
- 17:43Speaker 1: They don't have control of the Senate, they barely have
- 17:46Speaker 1: control of the House. We have massive amounts of evidence,
- 17:49Speaker 1: and you just sit there on MSNBC and you say, oh,
- 17:51Speaker 1: they have no evidence. It's the only card they have
- 17:56Speaker 1: left to play. That's the one thing that I will say.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I think this is all about the idea that this
- 18:03Speaker 1: is the only card that they have left to play.
- 18:07Speaker 1: There isn't any other card left. You can't defend not
- 18:11Speaker 1: showing up. You can't defend the press conference. You can't
- 18:15Speaker 1: defend the payments going to the Biden crime family.
- 18:18Speaker 2: You cannot defend the dollars.
- 18:21Speaker 1: That were going directly into Joe Biden's bank accounts. You
- 18:24Speaker 1: can't defend the phone calls. You can't defend the meetings.
- 18:28Speaker 1: You can't defend the foreign travel, you can't defend the
- 18:32Speaker 1: golf outings, you can't defend the payments coming from are
- 18:36Speaker 1: the worst are adversaries, the Chinese and Russia. That's the
- 18:41Speaker 1: reason why they're all sitting there in this scenario right now.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I want to play for you part of my conversation
- 18:48Speaker 1: that I had with Center Ted Cruz as we were
- 18:51Speaker 1: taping the podcast that we do vertic with Ted Cruz,
- 18:54Speaker 1: and you can hear the entire conversation by going and
- 18:57Speaker 1: downloading it, but there's a couple significant excerpts I wanted
- 19:01Speaker 1: to play for you. The deal with these two different subjects.
- 19:05Speaker 1: One of them obviously Hunter Biden and in him defying
- 19:08Speaker 1: this congressional subpoena in which would happened. The other one
- 19:10Speaker 1: is actually impeachment and why the Republicans are impeaching Joe
- 19:17Speaker 1: Biden and pulling this impeachment inquiry. It's not a political
- 19:21Speaker 1: witch hunt. It's based in facts, and I want to
- 19:23Speaker 1: make sure we go through that. And I want you
- 19:25Speaker 1: to hear what the Center had to say because it's
- 19:27Speaker 1: important because he's in Washington and he's talking to the
- 19:31Speaker 1: people that are doing this on the House side, and
- 19:34Speaker 1: to remind people how we got here is so vitally important.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Take a listen.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I want to talk about Hunter Biden and Hunter Biden's
- 19:42Speaker 1: refusal to show for this deposition. He had this press
- 19:45Speaker 1: conference on Capitol Hill but said I'm only willing to
- 19:48Speaker 1: go public. I'm not willing to go behind closed doors.
- 19:51Speaker 1: That is dictating to Congress what you will and won't do.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Usually doesn't end well unless you know the deck is
- 19:58Speaker 1: stacked on your half, on your side with a DOJ
- 20:02Speaker 1: that refuses to prosecute. Is that part of how this
- 20:05Speaker 1: is going to play out for him?
- 20:07Speaker 9: Well, let me say, first of all, we now know
- 20:09Speaker 9: the answer to what we talked about in the last podcast,
- 20:13Speaker 9: which is whether or not Hunter Biden was going to
- 20:15Speaker 9: defy the congressional subpoena. And the answer is yes. And
- 20:18Speaker 9: I'm going to give credit where credits due. I thought
- 20:20Speaker 9: the odds were about fifty to fifty. I could see
- 20:22Speaker 9: him going either way, and you were one hundred percent
- 20:26Speaker 9: on the other side.
- 20:26Speaker 5: And so, Benjamin, you were right. I was at best
- 20:29Speaker 5: fifty percent right.
- 20:30Speaker 1: But I'm going to frame. I'm going to frame this
- 20:32Speaker 1: transcript and put it in my office.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Now.
- 20:34Speaker 1: This is the first time in history of verdict I've
- 20:36Speaker 1: gotten these accolades.
- 20:37Speaker 9: Put it off right now. I'm telling you, I'm manning up.
- 20:41Speaker 9: I'm admitting it. You didn't even have to rub my
- 20:44Speaker 9: nose in it. I came forth right on the front end. Look,
- 20:49Speaker 9: he refused to comply with a subpoena. There are a
- 20:52Speaker 9: number of things that will flow from that. One of
- 20:54Speaker 9: the things that will flow from that is the House
- 20:56Speaker 9: I believe will hold Hunter Biden in contempt. That's significant
- 21:01Speaker 9: being held in contempt of Congress. That you can be
- 21:04Speaker 9: jailed for being in contempt of Congress, and but for
- 21:08Speaker 9: that to happen, the Department of Justice has to prosecute you.
- 21:11Speaker 9: And I got to say, one of the reasons why
- 21:13Speaker 9: I think Hunter Biden is perfectly content to defy a
- 21:17Speaker 9: congressional subpoena is he does not believe Daddy's Department of
- 21:21Speaker 9: Justice will prosecute him, and so I think he and
- 21:25Speaker 9: his lawyers feel like they can just ignore the subpoena.
- 21:28Speaker 9: But when the contempt vote happens, and I think the
- 21:31Speaker 9: votes will be there to hold him in contempt, that
- 21:34Speaker 9: will be the next stage in the escalation. Now we
- 21:38Speaker 9: talked about previously on Verdict. Why often when you have
- 21:41Speaker 9: someone come in for testimony, you proceed it with a
- 21:45Speaker 9: closed door deposition where you get into more detail, you
- 21:47Speaker 9: go back and forth, you prepare for the open hearing.
- 21:51Speaker 9: And that's what the House Republicans did. Now, I will
- 21:55Speaker 9: say at Hunter Biden's press conference. He said, quote Republic
- 22:00Speaker 9: Wilkins do not want an open process where Americans can
- 22:02Speaker 9: see their tactics, expose their baseless inquiry, or hear what
- 22:07Speaker 9: I have to say.
- 22:08Speaker 5: What are they afraid of? I'm here, I'm ready.
- 22:12Speaker 9: So I got to tell you, Ben, I would give
- 22:13Speaker 9: advice to Jim Jordan and James Comer. Take him up
- 22:17Speaker 9: on his offer. Hold him in contempt, fine, but also
- 22:20Speaker 9: bring him to an open hearing. He has said he
- 22:22Speaker 9: would testify in an open hearing. Yes, there are strategic
- 22:25Speaker 9: advantages to doing a closed door deposition first, but get
- 22:28Speaker 9: him under oath and in front of the American people.
- 22:31Speaker 9: If the outcome of this is he defies the subpoena,
- 22:34Speaker 9: he's held in contempt and nothing, nothing, nothing happens. That
- 22:37Speaker 9: is a bad outcome. That is not an outcome that
- 22:40Speaker 9: furthers justice. That is not an outcome that further is
- 22:43Speaker 9: holding Joe Biden accountable for his misconduct. And so I
- 22:46Speaker 9: think the best. Yes, they're irritated that he's defying their request,
- 22:51Speaker 9: and I think they ought to hold him in contempt,
- 22:53Speaker 9: but they also ought to schedule that open hearing for
- 22:57Speaker 9: the first week the House is back in January and
- 23:00Speaker 9: and put him under oath on record on national TV
- 23:03Speaker 9: and walk him through the evidence.
- 23:06Speaker 1: If they do that, does that mean that you lose
- 23:09Speaker 1: the chance for the closed door deposition? And is that also,
- 23:12Speaker 1: and I'm playing devil's advocate here, does that imply that
- 23:16Speaker 1: you're basically conceding to the demands of Hunter Biden on
- 23:21Speaker 1: the entire US Congress?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Yes?
- 23:23Speaker 9: And yes, and so what look, losing the closed door deposition?
- 23:28Speaker 9: There's some advantages to having that, sure, but you can
- 23:32Speaker 9: litigate about it for a year and get nothing. Or
- 23:35Speaker 9: on your second point, they could be piqued, they could
- 23:38Speaker 9: be annoyed. Well, gosh, no witness is going to dictate
- 23:41Speaker 9: what we do because we're tough. Well, so what, Look,
- 23:45Speaker 9: there's a job to be done. And the good thing
- 23:47Speaker 9: is you and I both know Jim Jordan and James
- 23:49Speaker 9: Comer these are serious men focused on a serious task.
- 23:52Speaker 9: And so I think the appropriate reaction is not to
- 23:56Speaker 9: have your feelings hurt, and not even to be annoyed,
- 23:59Speaker 9: although you are perfectly justified in being annoyed that a
- 24:03Speaker 9: witness is effectively dictating the method in which he will testify.
- 24:07Speaker 9: That is annoying and in the vast majority of situations,
- 24:10Speaker 9: it's utterly unacceptable. In this case, there is an overriding
- 24:16Speaker 9: interest of justice of putting the evidence before the American people.
- 24:21Speaker 9: And remember this is something that you and I have
- 24:22Speaker 9: said a lot on verdict. This is not about Hunter Biden.
- 24:27Speaker 9: This is about Joe Biden. If the result of this
- 24:32Speaker 9: is they spend the next year fighting over the contempt finding,
- 24:36Speaker 9: that is a complete waste of time. We need the
- 24:39Speaker 9: evidence in front of the American people that Joe Biden
- 24:43Speaker 9: was corrupt. And in this Hunter Biden is an accomplice
- 24:47Speaker 9: and he's a witness, but he's not.
- 24:49Speaker 5: The actual target.
- 24:50Speaker 9: The only reason anyone cares about Hunter Biden is because
- 24:54Speaker 9: he was integally involved in the alleged corruption and bribery
- 25:00Speaker 9: of his father, who was vice president of the United
- 25:03Speaker 9: States and is now the President of the United States.
- 25:05Speaker 9: That's why they should say, fine, we'll have you first
- 25:09Speaker 9: week of January in front of the full hearing on TV,
- 25:13Speaker 9: and we'll walk you systematically through the questions and might
- 25:16Speaker 9: they get some surprises.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 25:17Speaker 9: Part of the reason you do a closed door deposition
- 25:20Speaker 9: is so you don't get surprised. You get an answer
- 25:22Speaker 9: in the deposition, and then when you do the hearing.
- 25:23Speaker 9: If they say something different, you can confront them with, well,
- 25:26Speaker 9: that's not what you said at our deposition. I get
- 25:29Speaker 9: that that that that is strategically better, But my point
- 25:34Speaker 9: is having Hunter testify under oath now versus not having
- 25:39Speaker 9: him testify for the next year, it ain't even close,
- 25:42Speaker 9: which is better for the pursuit of justice?
- 25:45Speaker 1: All right, So let's say that what you're you're mentioning
- 25:48Speaker 1: here happens. I want I want us both to go
- 25:51Speaker 1: on the record. Would Hunter Biden show up for that
- 25:56Speaker 1: public here?
- 25:56Speaker 3: Now?
- 25:56Speaker 1: I claims he would, right, but he was saying that
- 25:58Speaker 1: because he wasn't gonna show up for that. That was
- 25:59Speaker 1: his way of getting out of the closed door. So
- 26:01Speaker 1: let's say that that Jim Jordan and James Comer, they
- 26:05Speaker 1: do this to speak of the House says, let's this
- 26:07Speaker 1: our new strategy, Johnson, Let's go with it. Do you
- 26:10Speaker 1: believe that Hunter Biden would actually show for that open hearing?
- 26:14Speaker 5: So again, I don't know.
- 26:16Speaker 9: I think there is a significant chance he wouldn't show
- 26:19Speaker 9: for the open hearing. But if you forced me to
- 26:21Speaker 9: put odds to it, I'd probably say sixty forty he shows.
- 26:25Speaker 9: I think there's a forty percent chance he backs out
- 26:27Speaker 9: and said, oh, I was just kidding. I'm not going
- 26:29Speaker 9: to testify there either. But I think there's a sixty
- 26:33Speaker 9: percent chance that he follows through. He is at this
- 26:35Speaker 9: point defiantly said he's ready to go, and he's made
- 26:38Speaker 9: that offer, and I think ego and vanity may compel
- 26:43Speaker 9: him to go and testify in the open. If that's
- 26:47Speaker 9: what happens, what do you think? Where are your ods?
- 26:49Speaker 1: I think there's a zero percent chance he'd show up
- 26:51Speaker 1: for the second one, because if he knows he doesn't
- 26:53Speaker 1: have to show up for either, and they're not going
- 26:55Speaker 1: to hold him in content because and you would know
- 26:57Speaker 1: this legally, I don't, And I'm asking you sincerely, if
- 27:00Speaker 1: he didn't show up for the public hearing, what's the
- 27:02Speaker 1: recourse there?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Would it go to the DJ.
- 27:04Speaker 9: They hold him in contempt? And DJ again would would
- 27:07Speaker 9: sit on their hands and do nothing?
- 27:08Speaker 1: Because if you're gonna if you're gonna be held in
- 27:10Speaker 1: contempt the first time, why not double up on it
- 27:12Speaker 1: and say nothing at all.
- 27:14Speaker 9: Look, you're actually giving very good legal advice for someone
- 27:17Speaker 9: without a JD.
- 27:18Speaker 5: There's a lot of force to what you're saying.
- 27:21Speaker 9: Look, the reason I think it is slightly more likely
- 27:24Speaker 9: than not that he shows up. Is is ego, it
- 27:27Speaker 9: is entirely who he is, and they've been so braggadocious
- 27:31Speaker 9: saying that he would do it that I think he
- 27:33Speaker 9: would find it personally hard to back out of. But
- 27:36Speaker 9: there's no doubt the the risk averse the CYA approach
- 27:41Speaker 9: is don't show up to either. By the way, that
- 27:43Speaker 9: shouldn't be the risk averse approach. If we actually had
- 27:46Speaker 9: a functioning Department of Justice that would go and prosecute
- 27:50Speaker 9: you for contempt to Congress, then the the risk calculus
- 27:54Speaker 9: was would change. But remember Congress held Eric Holder, then
- 27:57Speaker 9: the Attorney General of the United States in contempt, and
- 28:03Speaker 9: DJ did nothing. Now Eric Holder was in charge of DJ,
- 28:07Speaker 9: but they did nothing, and I don't expect the Biden
- 28:10Speaker 9: DOJ to do any different.
