- 1:31Speaker 5: I can't.
- 1:41Speaker 6: To turn the mout turn.
- 1:43Speaker 4: You probably got to turn mouth turn out turn the
- 1:47Speaker 4: word of the mono.
- 1:55Speaker 7: Come come on your.
- 2:01Speaker 8: Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody. You're listening
- 2:06Speaker 8: to the voice, Come on dig me now, want it on?
- 2:08Speaker 8: Receive Harvey's got a radio show.
- 2:12Speaker 9: Five things that I know successful people have to do
- 2:16Speaker 9: to be successful. The principles are the same. You can
- 2:20Speaker 9: apply it to anything, you know, if you want to
- 2:23Speaker 9: be happily married, you know, whatever it is. The principles
- 2:26Speaker 9: of success are the same. There are a series of
- 2:29Speaker 9: things that you have to do. You cannot skip the
- 2:31Speaker 9: steps of success. If you do, you're going to have
- 2:34Speaker 9: to go back and step on them anyway. So here's
- 2:38Speaker 9: here's here's a part man that I want you all
- 2:41Speaker 9: to understand about me and and and and about how
- 2:45Speaker 9: to look at it. You know, you you cannot underestimate
- 2:54Speaker 9: faith and prayer. You just can't. You cannot underestimate the
- 3:02Speaker 9: power of faith and the power of prayer.
- 3:08Speaker 1: See for me.
- 3:09Speaker 9: This is just for me. Now, this ain't in the
- 3:11Speaker 9: scripture nowhere. This is just something I discovered. What prayer
- 3:15Speaker 9: did for me was was it tied me to my creator.
- 3:21Speaker 9: It gave me a sense and I'm describing it this way,
- 3:26Speaker 9: but I'm telling you it's deeper than this. But it
- 3:29Speaker 9: gave me a sense that I wasn't alone, and at
- 3:33Speaker 9: actuality I wasn't. But prayer helped connect me to the
- 3:40Speaker 9: power source that was available to me to get through,
- 3:46Speaker 9: get around, or get over whatever it was that was
- 3:51Speaker 9: in the way, whether it was just a period I stretched,
- 3:54Speaker 9: I had to go through hard work.
- 3:56Speaker 1: It had to period I had to go through to learn.
- 3:59Speaker 9: Some lessons, some periods I had to go through from
- 4:02Speaker 9: having to pay for some of the mistakes I've made.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Whatever the case may be, prayer gave me a.
- 4:11Speaker 9: Decided advantage, especially oh here we go, Especially over my enemies. Now,
- 4:22Speaker 9: the majority of people in my life that were my enemies.
- 4:24Speaker 9: I didn't want them to be my enemies, make no
- 4:27Speaker 9: mistake about this. But through the thing called life, some
- 4:32Speaker 9: things went down. Some things happened from here and then
- 4:35Speaker 9: went over here, over that way, and a person became
- 4:38Speaker 9: my enemy. The majority of enemies I have came out
- 4:43Speaker 9: of nowhere. I have no reason to even see why
- 4:46Speaker 9: they are my enemies. But you know, life goes on, man.
- 4:50Speaker 9: It happens from time to time. Some people just won't
- 4:53Speaker 9: let it go. See some people, in their quest to
- 4:58Speaker 9: do something to you or to make you pay, they
- 5:01Speaker 9: just won't let it go. But it may cause you
- 5:05Speaker 9: some discomforting and some of it may be lies about
- 5:07Speaker 9: you and all of this and all of that, but
- 5:10Speaker 9: that that can't prohibit you from going forward. So what
- 5:14Speaker 9: I'm saying is prayer gave me the strength of wisdom
- 5:18Speaker 9: understanding their carriage to either go through it, go around it,
- 5:24Speaker 9: or go over it. But it happened. I do not
- 5:29Speaker 9: know how I could have made it without faith and
- 5:33Speaker 9: without prayer.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It would have.
- 5:36Speaker 9: Something would have got me. YouTube would have got me.
- 5:42Speaker 9: The bloggers would have got me. My partners that I
- 5:48Speaker 9: grew up with, that used to laugh behind my back.
- 5:51Speaker 9: They would have got me. My friend that went over
- 5:55Speaker 9: my mother's house one time and told her, you know
- 5:57Speaker 9: what Steve's problem is that telling them jokes. He just lazy,
- 6:01Speaker 9: he don't want to work. That would have got me.
- 6:06Speaker 9: They didn't know. I ain't really mad at them because
- 6:09Speaker 9: they were just All they was doing was based in
- 6:12Speaker 9: their conversations and passing judgment based on what they knew,
- 6:17Speaker 9: based on what they believed.
- 6:19Speaker 1: They didn't believe I was gonna make it. But that's them, though.
- 6:25Speaker 9: If it was not for the faith, which is the
- 6:27Speaker 9: belief in things that you cannot see, I wouldn't have
- 6:30Speaker 9: made it because I would have listened to everybody else
- 6:34Speaker 9: who didn't see me getting here and went along with it.
- 6:40Speaker 9: And then prayer. Oh my goodness, man, how many times
- 6:44Speaker 9: has prayer bailed me out? Prayer has bailed me out,
- 6:48Speaker 9: press still bailing me out. Tell you the truth, man,
- 6:53Speaker 9: quiet as it's kept prayer, that connection to your heavenly Father,
- 7:00Speaker 9: that connection to your creator, that connection to that source
- 7:04Speaker 9: of power and inspiration, that connection of never feeling that
- 7:08Speaker 9: you were alone. You know, I was watching the Bishop
- 7:10Speaker 9: Jakes on TV yesterday and it was a repeat, and
- 7:15Speaker 9: one of the things he was talking about, well, let
- 7:19Speaker 9: me just get to the gist of it. I was
- 7:23Speaker 9: going through a portion of my life and I went
- 7:28Speaker 9: through it for some years, y'all. I had gotten myself
- 7:30Speaker 9: into a jam that lasted for years I'm telling you
- 7:36Speaker 9: for years, with some serious consequences to follow.
- 7:40Speaker 1: For years, and I was so busy looking at where
- 7:48Speaker 1: I was at.
- 7:51Speaker 9: I was sulking sometimes, Man, I'd get on the radio, Man,
- 7:54Speaker 9: I'd be just done.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I was sulking.
- 7:58Speaker 9: My my spirit had gotten low. I had gotten tired
- 8:04Speaker 9: of the fight. And I would come on some mornings, man,
- 8:08Speaker 9: and I would try try not to let on, but
- 8:10Speaker 9: I was hurting. I was because I had been in
- 8:12Speaker 9: it for years. Man, I had been in this thing
- 8:15Speaker 9: for years. And one thing I was doing. I was
- 8:19Speaker 9: so busy looking at where I was at. And when
- 8:22Speaker 9: I was watching Bishop Jakes he preached his sermon. He
- 8:27Speaker 9: was talking about so busy looking at where you at
- 8:36Speaker 9: that you don't even realize that God has been with
- 8:42Speaker 9: you the entire time. And you know what, Man, just yesterday,
- 8:49Speaker 9: just yesterday, I heard this and I text him. I
- 8:53Speaker 9: text Bishop Jakes, and I thanked him because it was
- 8:56Speaker 9: an old message I could tell. And I called a
- 8:59Speaker 9: text him up and I said, Man, thank you so much.
- 9:01Speaker 9: I was just watching you on TV and you told me, Man,
- 9:05Speaker 9: something that I that I'll always remember that whatever you're
- 9:09Speaker 9: going through, that He's there with you the whole time.
- 9:13Speaker 9: But see when sometimes when you're so busy looking at
- 9:16Speaker 9: where you at, you don't even notice where he is.
- 9:19Speaker 9: And see sometimes, man, that that helped me, and that's
- 9:22Speaker 9: going to help me in the future to realize that
- 9:25Speaker 9: what I'm going through, that he's there.
- 9:27Speaker 1: He's there with me, and he.
- 9:28Speaker 9: Gonna protect me, and he ain't gonna let my enemies
- 9:31Speaker 9: overcome me, and he ain't gonna let nobody overtake me,
- 9:34Speaker 9: and he ain't gonna let me go on there because
- 9:36Speaker 9: he's there. It's just you can't be so busy looking
- 9:39Speaker 9: at where you at that you don't take notice of
- 9:41Speaker 9: where he at. God is always there, He's always available,
- 9:45Speaker 9: And the best way to tap into that and know
- 9:47Speaker 9: it is you got to pray. Prayer has changed my life.
- 9:51Speaker 9: Prayer can change your life. You can become something if
- 9:55Speaker 9: you just pray.
- 9:57Speaker 3: You're listening.
- 9:59Speaker 9: Show, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. It's time
- 10:05Speaker 9: for us to realize that He did it again. Another
- 10:07Speaker 9: great day, another beautiful day, another opportunity. It could be cloudy,
- 10:11Speaker 9: it could be raining, it could be sunny, it could
- 10:14Speaker 9: be bright, it could be overcast, it could be a
- 10:16Speaker 9: little chill. This morning, it could be a little bit
- 10:19Speaker 9: hot for your comfort. Whatever it is you hear, man,
- 10:23Speaker 9: you here? Ain't that a blessing to be here?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Man?
- 10:27Speaker 9: Take take a layer of clothing off, put a jacket on,
- 10:29Speaker 9: do whatever you got to do, but celebrate the fact.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That you're here.
- 10:34Speaker 9: Man, if your feet didn't hit the ground already, you
- 10:37Speaker 9: got time to say thank you for that.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's all good. Man.
- 10:40Speaker 9: Show some gratitude to an almighty God that just keeps
- 10:43Speaker 9: on showing up, just like he said he would. And
- 10:46Speaker 9: I'm grateful for that. This is the Steve Harby Morning Show,
- 10:49Speaker 9: Shirley Strawberry calling for real Mississippi Monica Junior and the
- 10:54Speaker 9: legend of nephew Tommy Junior.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yes, sir, what it is?
- 11:00Speaker 10: Yea un?
- 11:00Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. Have we thought about this yet?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Have we thought about this as a culture in the community.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Have we thought about what we're gonna do to people
- 11:08Speaker 5: that that vote for Trump?
- 11:09Speaker 1: Have we how we gonna put them out our life?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Have we thought about that?
- 11:13Speaker 10: Now?
- 11:14Speaker 5: We need to come up with a plan, Like we
- 11:16Speaker 5: said about this, because they out there, we know them.
- 11:20Speaker 9: Close, that have gone public. I pretty much I had
- 11:23Speaker 9: nothing to do with them. And like Amber Rose, I
- 11:25Speaker 9: never really you know, ok that heavenly depending on what
- 11:30Speaker 9: she thought or see or ever. And then that little
- 11:37Speaker 9: rapper boy with them tattoos on his face, that's first
- 11:41Speaker 9: time I heard him. So, but he don't need me
- 11:43Speaker 9: to be famous. A little lucky of whatever his name is,
- 11:47Speaker 9: Lucky pot look.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Some of the names as a rapper stage. He out
- 11:56Speaker 1: here with a mega hat on.
- 11:58Speaker 9: You're a black person with omega had I think you
- 12:01Speaker 9: don't You don't even know how stupid that looks.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So I really had nothing to do with him.
- 12:05Speaker 9: But uh, I think, uh, we are to form a squad.
- 12:12Speaker 9: You know, me and Tommy a long time ago, had
- 12:15Speaker 9: uh had created a group called ride down there dot com.
- 12:21Speaker 9: You knows where he was taking, Like if you wanted
- 12:23Speaker 9: for fifteen hundred, we could do certain things to certain people.
- 12:27Speaker 9: But I think, uh, we can put together a squad,
- 12:30Speaker 9: you know, get.
- 12:31Speaker 5: A squad together with that basically, so we a belt though, yeah, yeah,
- 12:40Speaker 5: oh that's gonna be left.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah about the old school, old school like you and.
- 12:47Speaker 9: Yeah, just a whipping to roll up on them and
- 12:50Speaker 9: just pull the belt out your belt loops and rolling
- 12:53Speaker 9: around here, just whip them.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you ain't got to beat them real bad and nothing.
- 12:58Speaker 9: They ain't gotta leave no marks and nothing, cause we
- 12:59Speaker 9: don't them in trouble, but just a public equipping.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Well, she told you not to touch nothing.
- 13:08Speaker 9: You knock them pickles down off of that shell because
- 13:12Speaker 9: you were standing up trying to get some ketchup and
- 13:14Speaker 9: you're not.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Boy, I did that one time. God, she'd.
- 13:22Speaker 10: Not good.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Not good.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Now I got to pay for these pickles. We ain't
- 13:26Speaker 1: got no money for these pickles. These pickles ain't even
- 13:28Speaker 1: on the list. Now we're paying for stuff we can't
- 13:30Speaker 1: even take.
- 13:31Speaker 9: Oh okay, okay, coming off.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 13:37Speaker 11: Coming up at thirty two minutes after the hour, we'll
- 13:40Speaker 11: hear from the nephews.
- 13:41Speaker 6: He runs that prank back right after this.
- 13:44Speaker 3: You're listening hard morning.
- 13:46Speaker 11: Show, and it's time now for the nephew to run
- 13:49Speaker 11: that prank back. What you got for his nep huh yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm here. Stupid is here.
- 13:57Speaker 5: I know this is uh, you know, we we were
- 14:00Speaker 5: talking about voting most of the time because it's that time.
- 14:03Speaker 5: But you know, we have to sprinkle stupid in here somewhere,
- 14:06Speaker 5: and then that's the way it comes to me. And uh,
- 14:09Speaker 5: it just looks like I'm stupid all the time. But
- 14:11Speaker 5: I guess that's who.
- 14:15Speaker 12: Speaking of you.

- 21:35Speaker 11: daddy say these hurtful things about me.
- 21:38Speaker 6: I would be shocked if.
- 21:39Speaker 11: My son as making this stuff up on his own.
- 21:42Speaker 11: Should I have a talk with his dad?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Well, I would start with whipping the.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Boy right at the gate.
- 21:51Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't give a damn what you heard your
- 21:53Speaker 9: daddy say, uh huh, is you talking to me? I'm
- 21:56Speaker 9: your mother. You don't district, you don't critiquet talk. I

- 22:22Speaker 10: Now.
- 22:22Speaker 9: You can't stop his daddy, but I can stop you,
- 22:25Speaker 9: so that that's why I would start.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But now you know, you.
- 22:29Speaker 9: Ain't supposed to discipline the child, and you're supposed to
- 22:32Speaker 9: give a child a right to think and give him choices.
- 22:35Speaker 9: That's how y'all raise y'all rabbit ass kids raise him
- 22:39Speaker 9: like that.
- 22:40Speaker 1: We're not doing that.
- 22:41Speaker 9: I told my grandson just yesterday, I will knock your
- 22:45Speaker 9: little monkey ass out.
- 22:48Speaker 6: Okay, what.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And what did he do?
- 22:54Speaker 1: He went and told his little brother, I'm not a
- 22:56Speaker 1: monk kidder. That's what he got out of that.
- 23:01Speaker 9: All right, I'm not a monkey about said you issue.
- 23:08Speaker 1: He is stuff something.
- 23:10Speaker 11: Moving on to Dalvin and Tulsa, Dalvin writes, my sister
- 23:14Speaker 11: and her husband sold their home in LA and moved
- 23:17Speaker 11: closer to family. Now that they have money. Nothing is
- 23:21Speaker 11: good enough for them, and we're tired of them acting
- 23:23Speaker 11: brand new.
- 23:24Speaker 6: I want to tell them to.
- 23:25Speaker 11: Chill, But will I look like a hater if I
- 23:27Speaker 11: talk to them A.
- 23:29Speaker 9: Well, that's not making you a hater. You just want
- 23:33Speaker 9: to Maybe you should just do it in the form of, like,
- 23:35Speaker 9: hey man, just want to pull your coat? Uh, some
- 23:39Speaker 9: of the things you all are saying in front of
- 23:40Speaker 9: the Famili's got them a little bit upset.
- 23:42Speaker 1: You might want to pull up a little.
- 23:44Speaker 9: Bit because a lot of people are not as fortunate
- 23:47Speaker 9: as you and feel like they'll be having it rubbed
- 23:49Speaker 9: in their face a bit.
- 23:51Speaker 1: So if I wish you just pulling your coat, I'm
- 23:53Speaker 1: cool with it. You know, he of your best life.
- 23:56Speaker 9: But you know, now that you all have done that,
- 23:58Speaker 9: we back home and you you are amongst the poor men.
- 24:01Speaker 1: You know, we don't have nothing.
- 24:03Speaker 5: And they only balling dog because they sold that house
- 24:06Speaker 5: in Cali.
- 24:07Speaker 1: That's the only reason why they balled the well, the only.
- 24:09Speaker 9: Reason they balled is because they moved back with people
- 24:11Speaker 9: that's really poping. Okay, Yeah, you stayed your ass in Calli,
- 24:16Speaker 9: you wouldn't be having none of it.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Struggling struggles, expensive out there.
- 24:23Speaker 9: Yeah, you have moved back to Byeway, Mississippi.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Now you you the superstar over there. Ain't anybody having that.

- 24:42Speaker 9: little towns, you'd be going New Nathan.
- 24:44Speaker 6: You all right?
- 24:48Speaker 11: Moving on to Alison and Piscataway Alison. Alison writes, my
- 24:52Speaker 11: husband loves to watch explicit videos, so I asked him
- 24:56Speaker 11: if we could make one. He said, he doesn't think
- 24:59Speaker 11: of me in that way because I'm not that freaky.
- 25:01Speaker 6: Is that good or bad?
- 25:03Speaker 9: Well, he just told you what he likes. What you
- 25:06Speaker 9: aint He watched explicit videos. You asked him, could y'all
- 25:12Speaker 9: make one? He say, he don't look at you that
- 25:14Speaker 9: way because you're not that freaky. You're not you know,
- 25:17Speaker 9: and you're gonna get some question you're not gonna believe.
- 25:19Speaker 9: I think you need to leave this one. I'll just
- 25:21Speaker 9: let him watch the movies, because you're gonna be up
- 25:23Speaker 9: in a movie doing something you ain't know you was
- 25:25Speaker 9: really I don't think you really cut out for the
- 25:27Speaker 9: point of movie fiousness.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Doing something.
- 25:32Speaker 9: Go ahead, I'm gonna tell you right now, don't do that.
- 25:35Speaker 9: That film gonna get out it's gonna get out.
- 25:44Speaker 1: If somehow Hello, what you mean?
- 25:48Speaker 2: How is her husband gonna put it out? That's what
- 25:51Speaker 2: I mean? Yeah, So how will he get out if
- 25:54Speaker 2: it's in their bedroom?
- 26:00Speaker 6: Wouldn't put that out?
- 26:03Speaker 1: How did the Kim Kardashi take it out? Her mama
- 26:08Speaker 1: was the manager. Indeed, God, shot tell you right now.
- 26:13Speaker 9: It's a it's a man sitting in jail right now
- 26:18Speaker 9: that his whole house was video allegedly, and people are
- 26:23Speaker 9: scared to day on the fil how they get out?
- 26:26Speaker 9: And how see you can't take that chance?
- 26:29Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree with you there, you're right all right?
- 26:32Speaker 11: I see, Okay, Well, husband didn't want her to do
- 26:36Speaker 11: it anyway, so.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Oh, invite it over there?
- 26:40Speaker 3: God, why what are.
- 26:44Speaker 6: You talking about?
- 26:45Speaker 1: You're talking about the other case some parties. I'm glad
- 26:51Speaker 1: I missed, God boy, boy boy, God lad I ain't
- 27:01Speaker 1: on the guess listen, m all right.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Last one.
- 27:05Speaker 11: This is from Chaney and Cape Canaveral Shane writes, my
- 27:09Speaker 11: girlfriend sent me a photo of my boyfriend in another
- 27:13Speaker 11: girl's face. He laughed in my face and asked if
- 27:17Speaker 11: it's a crime to talk to other women. I didn't
- 27:20Speaker 11: know how to answer him, because.
- 27:21Speaker 6: It was just a picture? Did he say that to
- 27:24Speaker 6: throw me off?
- 27:25Speaker 9: No, your girlfriend has sent a picture of him talking
- 27:29Speaker 9: to another girl.
- 27:31Speaker 6: What in another girl's face is how she put it?
- 27:34Speaker 1: What do that mean?
- 27:36Speaker 9: In another girl's face mean you was up on somebody talking.
- 27:38Speaker 9: They wasn't kissing, they didn't have a clothes off. They
- 27:43Speaker 9: was over there talking. He laughed and said it's a
- 27:46Speaker 9: he can't talk to nobody.
- 27:48Speaker 1: But the real.
- 27:48Speaker 9: Thing is you need to check your girlfriend. What's her
- 27:51Speaker 9: motivation here? He all he talking to her?
- 27:55Speaker 1: So what? So what?
- 27:57Speaker 9: Sometimes you can bring stuff in your life to do.
- 28:00Speaker 9: Don't exist. Somebody was talking to the lady. You ain't
- 28:03Speaker 9: found no text, You ain't seen no pictures of him.
- 28:06Speaker 1: You ain't.
- 28:07Speaker 9: You ain't seen no post on Facebook. She sent a
- 28:10Speaker 9: picture of him. He in public somewhere. Obviously, Why is.
- 28:13Speaker 1: The girlfriend in this mess?
- 28:16Speaker 6: She shouldn't be.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Sorry, messed, But I'm just saying maybe that's what it was.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Why did be taking a pictures of something?
- 28:21Speaker 5: Now you need to take a picure of a man.
- 28:25Speaker 9: But a lot of time it's angle though, because you
- 28:27Speaker 9: can make a person like if you take a picture
- 28:29Speaker 9: at an angle, he can look like they kiss it.
- 28:32Speaker 6: You know, yeah, really.
- 28:35Speaker 9: It's yeah, yeah, it's an angle like that over the
- 28:40Speaker 9: shoulder angle.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah. They look real close. They could be three feet apart. Yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 9: I think the dude is innocent. I think your girlfriend
- 28:48Speaker 9: shouldn't have sent you the picture. But no, he ain't
- 28:50Speaker 9: throw you off, even to throw you off from what what.
- 28:54Speaker 9: You ain't got no evidence, your nothing says your man
- 28:57Speaker 9: is cheating. Why why you're bringing putting this in your life?
- 29:01Speaker 9: Showing up but no evident. You need some new friend
- 29:04Speaker 9: that ain't gonna do nothing to me that ain't gonna do.
- 29:08Speaker 11: All right, coming up at the top of the hour,
- 29:12Speaker 11: we'll talk to south former South Carolina representative and political
- 29:17Speaker 11: analyst Bakari Sellers.
- 29:18Speaker 6: Right after this.
- 29:20Speaker 3: You're listening Morning Show, all right.
- 29:25Speaker 9: Everybody else, promise we got special guests this morning. Our
- 29:27Speaker 9: special guest is a noted politician. He's an attorney, he's
- 29:32Speaker 9: a political correspondent, and he's been on the show many
- 29:36Speaker 9: times before. One of my favorite people, absolutely, but he's
- 29:40Speaker 9: also been on the front line and this year's election,
- 29:42Speaker 9: and he's joining this morning to break down VP Kamala
- 29:46Speaker 9: Harrison's opportunity agenda for black men. And we're excited to
- 29:49Speaker 9: have him back with us today. So let's go on
- 29:51Speaker 9: to get to it. Please, welcome to the show, my friend,
- 29:53Speaker 9: our brother, mister Bacari sellers.
- 29:56Speaker 10: Well, sir, I'm glad had to be here. Good morning, happy,
- 30:01Speaker 10: happy to be on with y'all.
- 30:02Speaker 1: What's happening man, it's good. Hey man.
- 30:05Speaker 9: Let me start with this tweet that you sent out Winstead.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Let me just start here.
- 30:10Speaker 9: Your tweet said, y'all out here, critique and Kamala like
- 30:15Speaker 9: your guy didn't just stand on stage and sway to
- 30:18Speaker 9: elevateor music for thirty minutes.
- 30:20Speaker 2: That park right there, we saw it.
- 30:25Speaker 12: We got a I gotta stop tweeting on cop of migos,
- 30:29Speaker 12: That's what I got to say. But it goes to
- 30:35Speaker 12: this this standard that is just it's wild to me,
- 30:38Speaker 12: because you know, they asked him about climate change at
- 30:41Speaker 12: the Univision town hall and he went on a rambling answer,
- 30:45Speaker 12: and no matter where he is, he's incoherent.
- 30:47Speaker 10: He doesn't make sense.
- 30:49Speaker 12: He he was.
- 30:50Speaker 10: Swaying for thirty minutes.
- 30:51Speaker 12: They say this because he had a medical emergency. Well yeah,
- 30:54Speaker 12: he had two of them and they were over and
- 30:56Speaker 12: this man simply said, I don't want to take any
- 30:58Speaker 12: more questions, play some ave Maria and he did I
- 31:01Speaker 12: mean if if Kamala Harris did anything like that. And
- 31:05Speaker 12: what I tell people all the time is black folks,
- 31:08Speaker 12: particularly black women, she's running the one ten hurdles in
- 31:12Speaker 12: high hills and then have to complete a summer thought
- 31:15Speaker 12: at the end.
- 31:16Speaker 6: Yes, yes, yes, I love that. Yeah, I love it.
- 31:19Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:21Speaker 12: And so you know, we just gotta we gotta pray
- 31:23Speaker 12: for And it's crazy because on November fifth, the election
- 31:26Speaker 12: won't probably be decided.
- 31:27Speaker 10: In fact, I'm sure it won't be decided on the fifth,
- 31:29Speaker 10: but we're gonna be anxious and.
- 31:31Speaker 12: We're going to be you know, this woman has been
- 31:33Speaker 12: so qualified for every position, and I mean, look, I
- 31:36Speaker 12: got to I can't just critique folks on that side.
- 31:39Speaker 12: I mean, lord Jamar, who we you know, have some
- 31:42Speaker 12: affection for as a rapper, talking about she's not qualified
- 31:45Speaker 12: to run a dunkin donuts and this you know when
- 31:47Speaker 12: black men taught like that as well.
- 31:49Speaker 10: You got this woman who.
- 31:50Speaker 12: Was who was a DA a lawyer, an attorney general,
- 31:54Speaker 12: the United States senator, vice president? What what what conversations
- 31:57Speaker 12: are we actually having? That's that just frustrated the man.
- 32:01Speaker 9: Yeah, let me ask you something, because now we're Finnah,
- 32:03Speaker 9: give this some I'm curious about what's your thoughts when
- 32:07Speaker 9: you see blacks for Trump. I'm so curious as to
- 32:13Speaker 9: what they're, why they're for him, What is it that
- 32:17Speaker 9: you think it is? And I don't think it's this
- 32:21Speaker 9: horrifically huge number that they're trying to make it out
- 32:24Speaker 9: to be. I don't think you're not walking around saying no,
- 32:26Speaker 9: Trump Junior, you're a hero and all is here.
- 32:29Speaker 1: What's your take on that?
- 32:31Speaker 10: So? I think they're two.
- 32:31Speaker 12: There are two lanes, and the first lane are people
- 32:34Speaker 12: that we just need to, you know, kind of discount,
- 32:38Speaker 12: and those are the ones who.
- 32:40Speaker 10: Like shiny things.
- 32:41Speaker 12: Those are the ones who like what he says and
- 32:44Speaker 12: want to be different and think that somehow. I get
- 32:48Speaker 12: this all the time being a lawyer. I come in
- 32:50Speaker 12: and quote somebody to feet and they're like, oh my god,
- 32:54Speaker 12: you know a white boy caut on the feet and
- 32:56Speaker 12: they say that's perfect, Like it's their ice is coder
- 32:59Speaker 12: than our type idea.
- 33:01Speaker 10: And that's just one category outset aside.
- 33:04Speaker 12: Then there's another category that we have to pay attention
- 33:07Speaker 12: to that Kamala Harrison is paying attention to and that's
- 33:10Speaker 12: a group of disenchanted, particularly black men and Hispanic man
- 33:14Speaker 12: and I meet them all the time. We all know
- 33:15Speaker 12: them who just simply feel like nothing's going to change.
- 33:18Speaker 12: Government hasn't worked.
- 33:19Speaker 10: For them, no one's message to them.
- 33:22Speaker 12: Everybody else in this country gets help, but nobody completely
- 33:26Speaker 12: understands or empathizes what it means to be a black
- 33:30Speaker 12: man in this country or a Hispanic man in this country.
- 33:33Speaker 12: And it feels like the world is just beating us up.
- 33:35Speaker 12: And y'all want us to go out here and vote again.
- 33:37Speaker 12: And you know, you told us that things are going
- 33:38Speaker 12: to change under Barack Obama, and I don't necessarily feel it.
- 33:42Speaker 12: I may disagree with it, but I can't disagree with
- 33:44Speaker 12: how they feel or Joe Biden. And now you're saying
- 33:47Speaker 12: the same thing about Kamala Harris. And so that's why
- 33:49Speaker 12: you have to listen, and then you have to approach
- 33:52Speaker 12: the problem differently, which is what she's doing well.
- 33:55Speaker 9: And that leads us to this part right here, because
- 33:58Speaker 9: she came up with this opportunity agenda for black men,
- 34:03Speaker 9: and she wanted to lay out some critical policies you
- 34:06Speaker 9: know that was designed to uplift and empower black men
- 34:09Speaker 9: across the country. From your side of it, what are
- 34:12Speaker 9: some of the key points to her a new agenda.
- 34:14Speaker 12: So the first thing I wanted to do, and when
- 34:16Speaker 12: I was talking to them and we were talking about
- 34:18Speaker 12: doing this, is simply say, look, this isn't going to
- 34:20Speaker 12: just be a criminal justice agenda, because you know, a
- 34:24Speaker 12: lot of my white progressive friends and a lot of
- 34:26Speaker 12: my conservative friends, all they want to do when they
- 34:28Speaker 12: talk to black men is about how to stay out
- 34:30Speaker 12: of jail and keep your friends out of jail.
- 34:32Speaker 10: That's the only conversation they had with black men. And
- 34:36Speaker 10: I said, let's make sure it's holistic.
- 34:38Speaker 12: And so Kamala Harris took this approach where she's talking
- 34:42Speaker 12: about small business grants up to twenty thousand dollars. And
- 34:46Speaker 12: the way I think about it, in the way she
- 34:47Speaker 12: thinks about it is that's you know, helping you get
- 34:50Speaker 12: a start in a barbershop.
- 34:51Speaker 10: That's helping you get a box.
- 34:52Speaker 12: Truck, that's helping you get back on your feet with
- 34:55Speaker 12: your entrepreneurial spirit. And so a lot of people look
- 34:57Speaker 12: at that, a lot of people look at the legalization
- 34:59Speaker 12: of marijuana. But the two key points that I focus on,
- 35:02Speaker 12: Steve which I found to be something that warm my
- 35:04Speaker 12: heart was the Health Equitage and where she talks about
- 35:08Speaker 12: a sickle celle registry, where she talks about actually making
- 35:12Speaker 12: sure that the Affordable Care Act covers for free and
- 35:15Speaker 12: we lower the age for colorecto and prostate exams. I
- 35:18Speaker 12: mean looking at black men's health because we all know
- 35:21Speaker 12: somebody who just fell out and died at thirty five
- 35:24Speaker 12: and forty and forty five years old and we don't
- 35:26Speaker 12: know why. And the second piece that just jumps off
- 35:30Speaker 12: the page to me is putting more black men in
- 35:32Speaker 12: the classroom.
- 35:33Speaker 10: Because when you go out and talk to young boys
- 35:36Speaker 10: as you do, Steve probably and we need to give
- 35:38Speaker 10: your flowers while you're living. You talk to young black men.
- 35:41Speaker 12: More than any other person I know, and it means
- 35:45Speaker 12: so much to them and so much to the community.
- 35:47Speaker 12: And when you talk to them, one of the first
- 35:49Speaker 12: things they'll tell you is they don't have people in
- 35:51Speaker 12: the classroom that identifies with them.
- 35:54Speaker 9: Now that right there is a fact. Hey, we stay
- 35:58Speaker 9: with us. Bokari right back, everybody. We got more of
- 36:01Speaker 9: a Bacari sellers right after this morning show. Hi everybody,
- 36:07Speaker 9: We're back and our special guest this morning is one
- 36:10Speaker 9: of the men that's been on.
- 36:11Speaker 1: The front line for this year's election, and he's.
- 36:14Speaker 9: Been a he's a noted politician, he's an attorney, political correspondent.
- 36:18Speaker 9: He's our guest this morning. Bacari Sellers is our guest.
- 36:22Speaker 9: So we're talking about the agenda that VP Kamala Harris
- 36:27Speaker 9: had released on Monday, and we're talking about some of
- 36:31Speaker 9: the highlighted things. And before we left, Bacar, you said
- 36:34Speaker 9: something that was really interesting that I thought couldn't really
- 36:39Speaker 9: be addressed this way, because you know, I hear people
- 36:42Speaker 9: always talking about, you know what, what's the black agenda?
- 36:45Speaker 9: And I've been trying to tell my listeners, you know,
- 36:48Speaker 9: you can't just run out here and have one platform
- 36:52Speaker 9: just for black people, because you got to get everybody's vote.
- 36:55Speaker 9: But she actually came out and verbalized an agenda to
- 37:00Speaker 9: address black and Hispanic men. And that's what we're on
- 37:04Speaker 9: the phone talking about. So for everybody who when they're
- 37:07Speaker 9: gonna do something for us, and I do understand the frustration.
- 37:10Speaker 9: So we're talking about some of the key points, and
- 37:13Speaker 9: one of the things you said you were excited about, Bacard,
- 37:16Speaker 9: was the launch of the National Health equity initiative for
- 37:18Speaker 9: black Men'll go back over that again because that's really
- 37:21Speaker 9: a huge one.
- 37:23Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean we all know that, you know, kind
- 37:26Speaker 10: of culturally, for example, black men, we work hard.
- 37:30Speaker 12: We're usually the last ones to go to the doctor.
- 37:33Speaker 12: We get a sniffle, a little chest pain. You know,
- 37:36Speaker 12: you take some robotesting. Some times it's just a gas, right,
- 37:39Speaker 12: that's what we say. Uh, you know, your head hurting
- 37:42Speaker 12: and spinning, and you just or you don't go get
- 37:45Speaker 12: the preventative exams that.
- 37:47Speaker 10: You need because you don't worry. You worry about it
- 37:49Speaker 10: crippling your family with the costs.
- 37:52Speaker 12: And Kama Hereson is like, let's have a conversation about that.
- 37:55Speaker 12: Let's have a conversation about why black men are dying.
- 37:58Speaker 12: It's such high rates a young agent.
- 38:00Speaker 10: And let's make it affordable for them to get to
- 38:01Speaker 10: present a care they need. I mean, let's talk about.
- 38:04Speaker 12: Lowering to age for these exams, because we know that
- 38:08Speaker 12: cancer are particularly prospect cancer and co directed cancer is
- 38:11Speaker 12: affecting us at.
- 38:12Speaker 10: A younger ages.
- 38:13Speaker 12: And let's bring people in to have these conversations so
- 38:16Speaker 12: we can go get our physicals and do the things necessary.
- 38:19Speaker 12: And so I just think that that's profound that black
- 38:22Speaker 12: women who always take care of us, you know the jokes,
- 38:27Speaker 12: Black women go through everything, and when black men get
- 38:29Speaker 12: a cold, we just that's we out. We're done for
- 38:32Speaker 12: a week. But Kamala Harris is the one who's simply
- 38:35Speaker 12: talking about making sure that we have equitable treatment for
- 38:39Speaker 12: black men and their healthcare and looking at them holistically.
- 38:42Speaker 12: I just think it's powerful. Kamala Harris is talking about
- 38:45Speaker 12: making sure that black men, black boys can go to college,
- 38:49Speaker 12: get their college paid for, get in the classroom, peach.
- 38:53Speaker 12: Those things are things that matter in shape communities. She's
- 38:56Speaker 12: often talking about mentorship programs, are apprenticeship programs.
- 38:59Speaker 10: Et cetera.
- 39:00Speaker 12: But it's a holistic approach to the experience. And I
- 39:03Speaker 12: think it's a win for black men because listen, even
- 39:05Speaker 12: if you're a Republican black guy, listener, We've been asking
- 39:08Speaker 12: for a party to listen to us for a long time,
- 39:11Speaker 12: and finally a candidate, for the first time in American history,
- 39:14Speaker 12: has to put out an agenda that simply caters to
- 39:16Speaker 12: our needs.
- 39:17Speaker 9: Hey, pricar hold that thought right there. We'll be right back, Hey, folks,
- 39:21Speaker 9: We're going to take a short break when we come back.
- 39:22Speaker 9: We'll have more with Bacari Sellers right after this.
- 39:25Speaker 3: You're listening morning shows.
- 39:29Speaker 9: All right, everybody, We're back in our special guest this
- 39:31Speaker 9: morning is Bakari Sellers. There's a couple of the points
- 39:35Speaker 9: in this A part that I was hearing about about
- 39:37Speaker 9: lowering the rent and providing down payment assistance.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah for first time black homeowners.
- 39:43Speaker 10: Yeah for sure. So, I mean it's part of our
- 39:45Speaker 10: housing agenda.
- 39:46Speaker 12: And this is is kind of twofold. The first part
- 39:49Speaker 12: is that she says that one of the you when
- 39:51Speaker 12: you go to the bank and you want to get
- 39:53Speaker 12: a loan for a house in the first first time
- 39:56Speaker 12: home buyer, one of the things you run into is
- 39:58Speaker 12: the fact that you got to have cash when you
- 40:00Speaker 12: buy out. I mean, you just can't go out there
- 40:03Speaker 12: and buy no house on.
- 40:04Speaker 10: Your good looks. You know, you can't. You can't bring
- 40:07Speaker 10: no can goods to the bank. You got to have
- 40:09Speaker 10: some cash for a down payment. And so there is
- 40:12Speaker 10: a twenty five thousand dollars credit that you can receive
- 40:16Speaker 10: for down payments. That's what she put in our housing class,
- 40:19Speaker 10: but in particular for black men. One of the things
- 40:21Speaker 10: that Kamala Harris is going to do is you're.
- 40:22Speaker 12: Building three million new homes. So there's a component going
- 40:26Speaker 12: into her agenda for African American men where you're going
- 40:30Speaker 12: to make sure that the people building these homes, You're
- 40:33Speaker 12: going to make sure that not only the builders and
- 40:36Speaker 12: the developers, for those individuals building US homes, they look
- 40:39Speaker 12: like me and you stee, the people who are out
- 40:41Speaker 12: there we're putting the work we're spending this money on,
- 40:44Speaker 12: but particularly these folks, the first time home home buyers,
- 40:47Speaker 12: which oftentimes are younger and skew, blacker and browner. The
- 40:52Speaker 12: people who will build them as well actually look like us.
- 40:55Speaker 12: I mean, it's important. It's it's a way that you
- 40:57Speaker 12: can look at policy with some level of an election death.
- 41:01Speaker 9: You know, man, I'm really happy to have you on
- 41:03Speaker 9: today to kind of clarify this message because I think
- 41:06Speaker 9: it's something that's been kind of sticking in our.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Side a little bit when we hear.
- 41:12Speaker 9: That we're not getting the proper amount of support from
- 41:15Speaker 9: black men. But I think this is my opinion on
- 41:19Speaker 9: election day as is that's occurring in this record number
- 41:24Speaker 9: of early voting that they're already doing. I think that
- 41:28Speaker 9: the people do they never poll is us and I
- 41:31Speaker 9: think that we are the ones who can make We
- 41:35Speaker 9: are the deciding factor in this election purely find wait,
- 41:40Speaker 9: this is it. That was an election against Biden against Trump,
- 41:44Speaker 9: and it came down to Georgia and for the first time,
- 41:47Speaker 9: we turned Georgia blue.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And they and they waited.
- 41:51Speaker 9: They was in full and Cobb County and all of that,
- 41:54Speaker 9: and we know what that is in Atlanta, and that
- 41:57Speaker 9: was the decider. And I just think, man, that if
- 42:01Speaker 9: we show up in the numbers that we have the
- 42:04Speaker 9: potential to show up in, if we just get to
- 42:06Speaker 9: the polls, I think we will have a new president
- 42:10Speaker 9: of the United States and her name will be President
- 42:13Speaker 9: Kamala Harris.
- 42:15Speaker 12: I mean, you're right, but actually, I mean I think
- 42:17Speaker 12: it's a little bigger than that. If we show up,
- 42:20Speaker 12: I mean, particularly black men, I mean, this race is
- 42:23Speaker 12: in our hands, right and the question is what do
- 42:26Speaker 12: you want this country to be, not just for you,
- 42:27Speaker 12: but your children and you know, the parents that you're
- 42:30Speaker 12: taking care of. I mean, I'm forty years old, so
- 42:32Speaker 12: I'm at the age nowhere I'm like watching my parents
- 42:35Speaker 12: get old, trying to take care of them. I am
- 42:39Speaker 12: raising five and a half year old twins and I
- 42:40Speaker 12: got a nineteen year old at Howard that's majored in
- 42:43Speaker 12: U Street. I hope she's going to class, but right
- 42:46Speaker 12: now she just seems to be. Anyway, that's a whole
- 42:48Speaker 12: nother conversation.
- 42:49Speaker 10: But I.
- 42:52Speaker 12: Want the country to be better for them. I want
- 42:54Speaker 12: to turn the page on that hate and that racism
- 42:57Speaker 12: and that bigotry. And you know, one hundred thousand dollars
- 43:01Speaker 12: watches or gold shoes or bibles thinking that's gonna that's
- 43:04Speaker 12: gonna get me. And what it takes is listen, I
- 43:07Speaker 12: want to have to sign us with you. Black men
- 43:09Speaker 12: got to come out of Wisconsin, Detroit, got to come
- 43:12Speaker 12: out in Philadelphia, Atlanta. You know, the white college educated
- 43:15Speaker 12: women that listen to your show got to come out.
- 43:17Speaker 10: They don't have to vote like their husbands.
- 43:19Speaker 12: They got to come outside and vote. I mean, it's
- 43:21Speaker 12: going to take a collaborative.
- 43:23Speaker 10: Effort, but if we do this and do it resoundingly,
- 43:25Speaker 10: we can finally turn.
- 43:26Speaker 12: The page on the last eight years, which is which
- 43:29Speaker 12: look like January sixth with Confederate flags running through the
- 43:32Speaker 12: state cap I mean the United States cap.
- 43:33Speaker 9: So right, So right, hey, bro, I want you to
- 43:36Speaker 9: come back on the show before lectured and keep us enlightened. Man,
- 43:40Speaker 9: So thank you for joining us this morning. I appreciate
- 43:43Speaker 9: you explaining the agenda and folks, we got to get
- 43:46Speaker 9: out and vote, ladies and gentlemen. That was our guest
- 43:48Speaker 9: this morning, mister Bicai sell Us.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Thank you, Bate.
- 43:51Speaker 12: All right, man, I'll be sacking travel bak So.
- 43:54Speaker 9: You know, I enjoyed having him on man because I
- 43:58Speaker 9: like the way he broke down the opportunity to agenda
- 44:01Speaker 9: for black men, and she turned around and actually came
- 44:04Speaker 9: up with one. She actually laid out something directly at them, and.
- 44:09Speaker 1: That's pretty powerful.
- 44:11Speaker 10: Man.
- 44:12Speaker 9: That's taking a step I've never seen. I've never heard
- 44:15Speaker 9: anybody say that.
- 44:16Speaker 6: Thanks again to Bakari Sellers.
- 44:18Speaker 11: We'll be back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 44:20Speaker 11: Show right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 44:26Speaker 11: coming up at about four minutes after the hour. It's
- 44:28Speaker 11: my Strawberry letter for today, and the subject is I
- 44:31Speaker 11: heard him because he scared me. Okay, we'll get into
- 44:36Speaker 11: that and find out what that's all about in just
- 44:37Speaker 11: a few because right now it is time for the

- 45:18Speaker 5: you're not King Kong. You're more like bubbles. You know
- 45:21Speaker 5: what I'm saying. That's you're right in now.
- 45:22Speaker 9: You're not who you thank y'all strong, strong as hell
- 45:29Speaker 9: though if being bubbles might be plenty real, they.

- 46:40Speaker 13: No, I got a couple of days in mind.
- 46:43Speaker 10: Well actually, uh, we got a call from uh from
- 46:47Speaker 10: I think we've got something that's gonna that's gonna really
- 46:52Speaker 10: help you guys. And and something I think that she
- 46:55Speaker 10: wanted to recommend that something that you probably wouldn't wouldn't
- 46:57Speaker 10: think about getting. I'm okay, wrecking my brain is actually
- 47:04Speaker 10: gave us a call. She's actually had an idea, you know,
- 47:07Speaker 10: what she would really really like for her birthday present?
- 47:10Speaker 10: So what's the name of bigger and better. Like I said,
- 47:14Speaker 10: I follow she called you.
- 47:16Speaker 13: I'm sorry, she called you to get me idea on

- 47:22Speaker 10: Yeah, well this is this is something that's a little
- 47:26Speaker 10: a little different, and it's something that you probably would
- 47:28Speaker 10: never in a million years think of. But here it
- 47:30Speaker 10: bigger and better, where we make you large and in charge.
- 47:33Speaker 10: We actually do some things that we definitely know you
- 47:36Speaker 10: wouldn't have thought of. So I definitely understand her.

- 47:44Speaker 13: Scott get to the point.
- 47:45Speaker 10: What actually let us know that there are some things
- 47:49Speaker 10: that are really really lacking between you guys, and she
- 47:54Speaker 10: would very much like for her birthday. Well, you can
- 47:57Speaker 10: be a lot more well endowed. So you know that's
- 48:00Speaker 10: what we do here, bigger and better. We actually hello
- 48:04Speaker 10: what I could be? Well what more well? In doubt, sir,
- 48:07Speaker 10: So I think really what's going on is Beyonca is
- 48:10Speaker 10: really not satisfied right now and.

- 48:20Speaker 10: what I mean? You're you're uh. I guess maybe it's
- 48:23Speaker 10: may be very impotent.
- 48:24Speaker 13: I'm not sure, but kidding me, what's the name of
- 48:28Speaker 13: this company here?

- 49:04Speaker 13: Whatever services the first for me's gonna increase me in
- 49:06Speaker 13: the bedrooms.
- 49:07Speaker 10: Is the first sign of denial.
- 49:09Speaker 13: Right, I don't have no I don't have no problems
- 49:11Speaker 13: in the bedroom. Okay, well you know, I don't even

- 49:56Speaker 13: I'm in denial, you love, sir.
- 50:00Speaker 10: I really want to help you as much as I can.
- 50:03Speaker 13: Listen, man, listen, I'm trying to get my wife's on
- 50:05Speaker 13: the phone right now.
- 50:06Speaker 10: Okay.
- 50:07Speaker 13: I know you you've got a job to do, But
- 50:09Speaker 13: what I need you to do right now is stop
- 50:11Speaker 13: calling me.
- 50:12Speaker 10: All right. I'm trying.
- 50:13Speaker 13: I'm trying to be nice to you because I'm sure
- 50:15Speaker 13: whatever it is she calls you and you're just doing
- 50:18Speaker 13: your job.
- 50:19Speaker 10: I'm trying to get you in here to get a
- 50:21Speaker 10: consultation so we can get you further along than where
- 50:23Speaker 10: you are.
- 50:24Speaker 13: Consultation a consultation. I don't need no consultation. I don't
- 50:29Speaker 13: need no sisters from your start.
- 50:30Speaker 10: Sir, you're so you call me no more?
- 50:32Speaker 13: Man?
- 50:32Speaker 10: Hey, you're small and I want to make you bigger.
- 50:35Speaker 13: You want to make me bigger?
- 50:36Speaker 10: What? What?
- 50:37Speaker 13: What is this anyway? Bigger? Huh?
- 50:40Speaker 10: What kind of job is that?
- 50:41Speaker 13: How do you even get a job like that? You
- 50:42Speaker 13: apply for this job? You're idiot when you're a high
- 50:45Speaker 13: school job.
- 50:46Speaker 10: I'm trying. I'm trying to stop calling me man, mister darnell.
- 50:51Speaker 10: I'm still trying to help you get through the situation. Okay,

- 51:04Speaker 13: me again. Tell you what, I will come in for
- 51:06Speaker 13: a consultation. Give me give me your address and everything
- 51:10Speaker 13: like that, all your information, and I will come down

- 54:07Speaker 1: It could be yours. Buckle up and hold on time.
- 54:09Speaker 1: We got it for you. Here It is strawberry letter.
- 54:12Speaker 11: Thank you a few subjects. I heard him because he
- 54:16Speaker 11: scared me. Dear Stephen Shirley, my husband and I had
- 54:20Speaker 11: two kids before we graduated from high school. We did
- 54:23Speaker 11: what everyone said we could not do. We got married,
- 54:26Speaker 11: we raised our children, and we're still in love. We
- 54:30Speaker 11: are reclaiming our youth, and our children are sick of
- 54:33Speaker 11: us because we have run into them at nightclubs, bars
- 54:36Speaker 11: and the strip club once. We both just turned fifty
- 54:40Speaker 11: and we both work from home, so we have a
- 54:43Speaker 11: ball together. Weed is legal in our state, so we
- 54:46Speaker 11: just started smoking weed and doing edibles because we have
- 54:49Speaker 11: very stressful jobs. I love drinking wine, but my husband
- 54:54Speaker 11: doesn't care for alcohol. Last Saturday, I got a box
- 54:58Speaker 11: of wine and I had about four glos. My husband
- 55:01Speaker 11: had half a glass. His friend brought over a bag
- 55:04Speaker 11: of gummy bear edibles, and my husband.
- 55:06Speaker 6: Ate a few, but I had a lot more.
- 55:09Speaker 11: I started feeling the gumbies, so I went to lie down.
- 55:13Speaker 11: It got dark and the bed was feeling good and
- 55:16Speaker 11: the house was quiet. I figured my husband left to
- 55:19Speaker 11: hang out with his friend. Around nine pm, I heard
- 55:22Speaker 11: a noise in the other bedroom and jumped up. I
- 55:25Speaker 11: couldn't see anything because it was pitch black in the house.
- 55:29Speaker 11: The room was spinning from the wine and I from
- 55:33Speaker 11: the wine I had, and the edible was still in
- 55:35Speaker 11: my system. I grabbed three wooden hangers from the closet,
- 55:40Speaker 11: and I could see a figure in our guest room,
- 55:42Speaker 11: so I went to swinging. I hit, and I hit,
- 55:45Speaker 11: and I hit, and then I ran back to my
- 55:48Speaker 11: room and locked the door. My husband was yelling to
- 55:51Speaker 11: call nine one one because he had just gotten attacked.
- 55:55Speaker 11: I opened the door slowly and laughed because I had
- 55:58Speaker 11: just attacked him. He was not laughing, and he wanted
- 56:01Speaker 11: to press charges. I swore that I didn't know it
- 56:05Speaker 11: was him, and I was terrified. He is so mad
- 56:08Speaker 11: at me. I'll never do edibles again. Why can't he
- 56:11Speaker 11: understand why I attacked him. I'm so glad you said
- 56:16Speaker 11: you'll never do edibles again, because you certainly don't need to,
- 56:20Speaker 11: and your husband doesn't need to do anything either. This
- 56:23Speaker 11: could have been way worse than it was. You both
- 56:26Speaker 11: could have gotten hurt. It could have been one of
- 56:27Speaker 11: your kids in the other room. You got out of
- 56:30Speaker 11: it unscathed, but your husband caught it from you. That's
- 56:34Speaker 11: why he's so mad. I mean, it's self explanatory. Now,
- 56:37Speaker 11: yes he should, and he could be more understanding about
- 56:41Speaker 11: the fact that you reacted out of fear in the
- 56:43Speaker 11: house that night. You said it was pitch black dark,
- 56:46Speaker 11: but you beat him with hangers. You said, I hit,
- 56:49Speaker 11: and I hit and I hit. That's a lot, and
- 56:52Speaker 11: I'm sure it hurt. Hopefully, you know, time will heal
- 56:56Speaker 11: and he'll forgive you. Maybe hopefully he will, but you
- 56:59Speaker 11: got give him time. So in the meantime, you need
- 57:02Speaker 11: to flush all those edibles and all that weed down
- 57:05Speaker 11: the toilet, and no more wine for you.
- 57:07Speaker 6: I'm glad you said it yourself, Steve.
- 57:10Speaker 9: I can't even believe you tried to seriously address this
- 57:13Speaker 9: ragged ass letter.
- 57:14Speaker 1: That's what you know.
- 57:15Speaker 9: You was actually trying to give sounded like to the
- 57:19Speaker 9: damn food. But this letter don't make no damn sense.
- 57:22Speaker 9: Listen now, this right here, this this letter right here,
- 57:26Speaker 9: this is the dumbest one we didn't have in a while.
- 57:29Speaker 9: This one is dumb right here. Now, all this this
- 57:33Speaker 9: whole letter that I hurt him because he scared me.
- 57:36Speaker 9: That's what the Tyler letter is. But let's just go
- 57:40Speaker 9: down to what's really wrong your My husband and I
- 57:44Speaker 9: had two kids before we graduated from high school. God,
- 57:49Speaker 9: that's hard, man. I mean that's a lot of people
- 57:51Speaker 9: now now you know people have children in high school.
- 57:54Speaker 9: Ain't nothing that happens. But didn't that make you.
- 57:56Speaker 10: Go, damn?
- 57:57Speaker 1: Two kids? Wow in high school? Whoa damn? Damn?
- 58:04Speaker 9: And we did what everybody said we wouldn't do. We
- 58:06Speaker 9: got married, raised our children, and we're still in love
- 58:10Speaker 9: now Here. The problem with the letter we reclaiming our
- 58:13Speaker 9: youth and our children are sick of.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Us because we have run into them at.
- 58:18Speaker 9: Nightclubs, bars and strip club once. We both turned fifty
- 58:24Speaker 9: and we both worked from home. Why y'all still at
- 58:27Speaker 9: the club though at fifty. I'm telling you right now,
- 58:34Speaker 9: there's some people in trouble right now, right now that's
- 58:38Speaker 9: in a fifty still party because you're having too much fun.
- 58:45Speaker 9: And I want you all to understand what fun is.
- 58:47Speaker 9: Fun is an acronym. I talked this to my children
- 58:50Speaker 9: a while back. They said, Dad, we're going out after
- 58:54Speaker 9: the fight. I say, where you going? I said, I'm
- 58:55Speaker 9: going back to the hotel. Man, I'm gonna get me
- 58:58Speaker 9: some room surface I'm going to bed in Vegas my
- 59:01Speaker 9: sons we going out and saying, man, y'all be careful
- 59:03Speaker 9: out there. It was already midnight when the fight was over.
- 59:06Speaker 9: We leaving t Mobile Arena. They said, we're going out
- 59:09Speaker 9: and said, I said, we're gonna have some fun. I said, son,
- 59:12Speaker 9: it's a little bit late for fun. I had enough
- 59:14Speaker 9: fun at the fight. But if you keep having fun,
- 59:19Speaker 9: fun is an acronym because if you keep having fun,
- 59:23Speaker 9: fun actually stands for it's effed up now. That's what
- 59:30Speaker 9: f you in stands for, It's effed up now. If
- 59:34Speaker 9: you keep on having fun, it always gets to a point,
- 59:38Speaker 9: like if you stay at the club till it closed, Yep,
- 59:40Speaker 9: it's effed up now. If you keep riding the roller
- 59:45Speaker 9: coaster over and over and you wind and got something there,
- 59:47Speaker 9: and you keep riding now and now it ain't fun
- 59:49Speaker 9: no more. It's effed up now. And that's what didn't
- 59:52Speaker 9: happen to them. Weed is legally in our state. So
- 59:55Speaker 9: we just started smoking weed and doing the edibles because
- 59:59Speaker 9: we have streust at fifty. You started smoking weed at fifty, damn, y'all.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Stupid man, y'all, y'all.
- 1:00:09Speaker 9: I love drinking wine, but my husband don't care for
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: alcohol now here what I know what we're talking about
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: a certain economic level. Last Saturday, I got a box
- 1:00:17Speaker 9: of wine and had a box of wine.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: No, hang on, hang on, Stee, we'll have in a
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: while of.
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: Your response coming up. Three span YadA at twenty three
- 1:00:31Speaker 11: minutes after today's Strawberry letter, subjects I heard him because
- 1:00:35Speaker 11: he scared me.
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: We'll get back into it right after this.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: You're listening hard Morning show.
- 1:00:41Speaker 11: All right, Come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 1:00:44Speaker 11: The subject is I heard him because he scared me.
- 1:00:48Speaker 9: This letter is ridiculous. I surely tried to help him.
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: I can't two people in the head in high school.
- 1:00:55Speaker 9: It had two babies in high school before they graduated. Damn,
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: that's what. That's what you have to say to that.
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: One baby we understood, but two babies, damn. Okay. And
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: then y'all did what everybody said you weren't gonna do.
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: You got married anyway, y'all still in love, but y'all
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: recapturing your youth. And your children are sick of y'all
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: because y'all ran up into my nightclub, balls and Troop Club.
- 1:01:19Speaker 9: And we both turned fifty and we both work from
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: home and we have a ball together. Then she said
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: weed is legally in our state. So we just started
- 1:01:28Speaker 9: smoking weed and doing elibles edibles because we have very
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: stressful job.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Didn't you just say you work from house?
- 1:01:33Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:01:34Speaker 9: How stressful is your job if you're working from home?
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: And why do you start smoking weed at fifty?
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Y'all?
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: Stupid? I love drinking wine, but my husband don't care
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: for alcohol. Le'ss sadday hear I go. This was no
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: this some pole, this some pope mess right here.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Last said I got a box of wine. I haven't
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: heard that in a while.
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: Like I said before we left, you should have got
- 1:01:56Speaker 9: yourself some some spanyarda and some Anie Green springs and
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: just really just set it out and had yourself a
- 1:02:03Speaker 9: wonderful hood ass time. Y'all familiar with Annie Green springs? No,
- 1:02:08Speaker 9: Annie Green springs is wine? Surely, okay, it's a heavy
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: just okay, don't worry about it.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: You know what is though? You have heard of span YadA?
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: Sorry?
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: No, okay?
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: Anyway, And I had about four glasses, my husband had
- 1:02:27Speaker 9: half a glass.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: His friend bought over a bag of gummy.
- 1:02:29Speaker 9: Bad edibles, and my husband ate a few but I
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: had a lot more and I started feeling these gummies.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: So then I went to lay down.
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: It was dark in the bed, and I was feeling
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: good and the house was quiet, so I figured my
- 1:02:41Speaker 9: husband had left out with his friend. Around nine pm,
- 1:02:44Speaker 9: I heard a noise in the other bedroom and jumped up.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I couldn't see anything because it was pitch black in
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: the house. The room was.
- 1:02:50Speaker 9: Spinning from the wine, and I had the edible was
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: still in my system. I grabbed three wooden hangers from
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: the closet. That is not a good weapon. If you
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: hear a noise in the house and you get up
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: to inspected, what is three wooden hangers gonna do?
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: This was an edible decision you made right here. If
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: weed had you thinking that these.
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: This is I could see a figure in our guest room,
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: so I went to swing and I hit, I hit,
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: I hit, and then I ran back to my room
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: and locked the door.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: What my husband was yelling to call nine one one
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: because he had just got attacked. How high are y'all?
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Let me stop doing? How high is these people? You done?
- 1:03:44Speaker 9: Grabbed three wooden hangers, ran in the next room of
- 1:03:47Speaker 9: your house, start beating your husband? You don't realize nowhere
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: in the hollering that this is your husband. Your husband
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: holler called nine one one. I'm being attacked. Dog? Who
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: you getting your ass whopped in your house? And you
- 1:04:03Speaker 9: hollering to who called nine one one? How high are y'all?
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: How high can you be? Because he had just got attacked,
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: I opened the door slowly and laughed because I had
- 1:04:18Speaker 9: just attacked him. Oh you laughing, I'm surprised that I've
- 1:04:22Speaker 9: seen that on a lot of people smoke weed laugh.
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: He was not laughing, and he wanted to press charges.
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: What went right there?
- 1:04:34Speaker 10: Right?
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Wit? What?
- 1:04:36Speaker 9: The letter was already stupid? And then women he ain't laughing,
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: So now he want to press charges. How high are y'all?
- 1:04:49Speaker 9: What black man?
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: See?
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: This is what we don't do. What black man is
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: going to call the police on his wife? What black man,
- 1:04:59Speaker 9: you know call the police to their house?
- 1:05:03Speaker 10: Right?
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: I swore that I didn't know it was him, and
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: I was terrified. He's so mad at me. I'll never
- 1:05:10Speaker 9: do edibles again. Well, that's a great decision. You need
- 1:05:15Speaker 9: to stop doing edibles. You need to quit smoking weed,
- 1:05:18Speaker 9: and y'all need to quit buying that damn wine in
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: that box. Why can't he understand? Why tactile? Why are
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: you writing us? Don't nobody out here on the Steve
- 1:05:31Speaker 9: Harvey Radio Show listening audience even give a damn about
- 1:05:35Speaker 9: this letter.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: That all we know is y'all old ass.
- 1:05:38Speaker 9: Had got to stop smoking weed, doing edibles and drinking wine.
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: See you just started at fifty. You can't combine all
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: this stuff. Y'all doing too much. Y'all at the strip
- 1:05:51Speaker 9: club running into your kids. You fifty, you pass strip
- 1:05:55Speaker 9: club age, Bob nightclub, you passed the age each you
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: you missed your childhood. You can't do it no more.
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: You can go you can. You can go to a bar,
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: but you gotta go to a bartist age related. You
- 1:06:15Speaker 9: probably need to go to a tavern or something.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, man, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:06:24Speaker 9: See they real regular people because you buying box of
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: wine and all this head and hand four glasses, so
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: just going to live a regular life. You start acting
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: more of an adult.
- 1:06:33Speaker 10: You.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I can't help you, though, I don't give a damp.
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: Stop doing drugs and drinking and cut some lights on
- 1:06:41Speaker 9: in that.
- 1:06:42Speaker 11: Day, pitch black in the out it'll be live. Your comments,

- 1:10:41Speaker 11: and he heard my friend in the background. He got
- 1:10:44Speaker 11: mad because he didn't know she was joining me. I
- 1:10:48Speaker 11: wasn't withholding info. I simply forgot to mention it. I
- 1:10:51Speaker 11: was too busy trying to get our child situated before
- 1:10:54Speaker 11: I left town. He doesn't tell me everything, so why
- 1:10:57Speaker 11: is he tripping?
- 1:10:58Speaker 9: So you have to explain, not just go live your
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: life what your girlfriend showed up. You're all ways shopping,

- 1:11:38Speaker 11: I'm on a Christian dating site for older people, and
- 1:11:41Speaker 11: all of them look a lot old.
- 1:11:42Speaker 9: We already know you was older because your name is Early.
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: You didn't have to say that. You could just say
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: you was on a Christian dating site. Already know you

- 1:12:29Speaker 11: and date younger men?
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Wow, girl, you can pass for sixty.
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: That's what she was.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: So we never heard nobody say that before.
- 1:12:40Speaker 11: She said, I'm not gonna tell my age, but I
- 1:12:42Speaker 11: can pass for six.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: I can pass for sixty. Now, baby, let me just
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: go and say that.

- 1:13:30Speaker 9: What you can't see nothing on the night stand, it's
- 1:13:35Speaker 9: because if you can't see nothing on the night stand,
- 1:13:38Speaker 9: because it's covered with pills.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: He gonna need some help. He gonna need a lie
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:13:45Speaker 9: If you something metal laying up next to the bed, now,

- 1:15:27Speaker 11: lives are very very important. I just had for myself
- 1:15:31Speaker 11: a scare. I didn't share that with you guys, but yeah,
- 1:15:35Speaker 11: I just had a scare. I hadn't had my mammogram
- 1:15:39Speaker 11: yet for this year, and I just happened to fill
- 1:15:41Speaker 11: some thornness in my left breast area and then I
- 1:15:46Speaker 11: felt it. I did a self examination and there was
- 1:15:49Speaker 11: a lump there, and of course, naturally.
- 1:15:53Speaker 6: I freaked out.
- 1:15:54Speaker 11: I immediately got on the phone call my doctor, got
- 1:15:56Speaker 11: an appointment the next day. She said it up, so
- 1:16:00Speaker 11: I can go and get my mammogram. They couldn't find anything,
- 1:16:04Speaker 11: so but they didn't they didn't give me a clean slate.
- 1:16:09Speaker 11: They still wanted me to get a biopsy, so I
- 1:16:11Speaker 11: had to do that in that time. That waiting period
- 1:16:14Speaker 11: was about two or three weeks, and it was just
- 1:16:17Speaker 11: panic mode because you don't know what's going on in
- 1:16:20Speaker 11: your life. You feel this lump and you don't know
- 1:16:22Speaker 11: what it is. So finally I went to get my
- 1:16:25Speaker 11: biopsy and everything. Still have to wait a few more
- 1:16:28Speaker 11: days for the for the results. Got the results and
- 1:16:31Speaker 11: it was benign.
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: Praise the Lord, Praise Jesus.
- 1:16:35Speaker 11: Please, yeah, good, yeah, please, ladies, get your get your

- 1:16:44Speaker 11: I don't have any history of breast cancer or anything
- 1:16:46Speaker 11: like that in my family, but that doesn't mean you
- 1:16:48Speaker 11: can't get it still.

- 1:19:16Speaker 11: one million dollars or kiss a lion on the cheek
- 1:19:20Speaker 11: for what but the line?
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: That's it?
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: No, no, no, Me and that EXE are just being
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: a warm embrace we're not getting in that cave. Tell
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: your head off. I'm gonna kiss some of the cheek,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: but she better not turn her lips towards me. Now,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: she better not do that.
- 1:19:41Speaker 9: You ain't gonna be turning towards me. I tell you
- 1:19:45Speaker 9: that that line ain't gonna be turning to That's what

- 1:20:31Speaker 6: All right here we are, guys, our last break of
- 1:20:33Speaker 6: the day.

- 1:20:35Speaker 11: Seller's political analysts. Bacari Sellers shown. Yeah, breaking it down, point,
- 1:20:42Speaker 11: very profound point.
- 1:20:44Speaker 9: Yes, we've got to get out and vote, y'all. It's
- 1:20:46Speaker 9: go time now, no more messing around. Make sure you registered.
- 1:20:49Speaker 9: You can steal register, you can steal vote, you can
- 1:20:52Speaker 9: make a difference, and come on brothers. They're trying to
- 1:20:55Speaker 9: count us our book, but we know who we really are.
- 1:20:58Speaker 9: We black man strong identify as a black man. I
- 1:21:03Speaker 9: make no excuses for it. I ain't on no side
- 1:21:06Speaker 9: of the coin. I am a proud black man.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: That's what I am. I know who we are. I
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: know what we are, I know what we about, I
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: know what we go through.
- 1:21:18Speaker 9: I know the challenges. I know everything about this thing
- 1:21:22Speaker 9: called black manhood, and I'm proud to be one. I
- 1:21:26Speaker 9: wouldn't trade places with nobody in this world because of
- 1:21:30Speaker 9: all the accomplishments I have, I get to also add
- 1:21:34Speaker 9: the fact that I did it all as a black man.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: So to all you.
- 1:21:38Speaker 9: Brothers out there that have jobs that's working, do you
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: accomplish this as a black man? All of you brothers
- 1:21:46Speaker 9: out there, as fathers, husbands that open businesses, that have
- 1:21:52Speaker 9: a corporate positions, that have political positions, that have jobs
- 1:21:57Speaker 9: at the post office, that waste manage at the cab company,
- 1:22:01Speaker 9: at the beverage center, you did all this as a
- 1:22:04Speaker 9: black man.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: Hold your head up and be proud of that.
- 1:22:08Speaker 9: Because I'm telling you, I'm aware that it comes with
- 1:22:11Speaker 9: a certain specific set of challenges that oftentimes other men
- 1:22:16Speaker 9: don't face. But if you are black or brown, you
- 1:22:19Speaker 9: know exactly what I'm talking about. Now, you may not
- 1:22:21Speaker 9: be able to relate to what I'm saying. As a
- 1:22:23Speaker 9: white man, I understand that because you ain't had to
- 1:22:27Speaker 9: wear this skin. But I ask any white man living,
- 1:22:31Speaker 9: would you trade places with the black person? Would you
- 1:22:35Speaker 9: trade places with them? Would you give up your life
- 1:22:39Speaker 9: and your privilege and your existence and all that you've had,
- 1:22:43Speaker 9: would you replace it in exchange for a black person?
- 1:22:47Speaker 9: And the answer is no. Would you accept the treatment
- 1:22:52Speaker 9: that black people have had to face in this country?
- 1:22:55Speaker 9: As white person, would you trade places with a black
- 1:22:58Speaker 9: person in the US, the United States of America, knowing
- 1:23:02Speaker 9: what they have suffered through and gone through, or even
- 1:23:05Speaker 9: if you don't believe they suffered, would you trade places
- 1:23:08Speaker 9: with them?
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: And the answer is no, Because brothers, I know who
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: we are. We know who we are.
- 1:23:15Speaker 9: That's why we see each other sometime and we just
- 1:23:18Speaker 9: randomly speak. You know that's still happening. I still see
- 1:23:22Speaker 9: brothers in places, man, and I give them a head
- 1:23:25Speaker 9: nod when I see them because I recognize them. Sometimes
- 1:23:30Speaker 9: I'm walking down the street and walking some places and
- 1:23:33Speaker 9: I'll make eye contact with a brother, and I just say,
- 1:23:35Speaker 9: what's up, brother A Steve, what's up?
- 1:23:37Speaker 10: Man?
- 1:23:38Speaker 9: And we just give each other that nod because we
- 1:23:40Speaker 9: are aware of what it is. So I've been proud
- 1:23:44Speaker 9: to be a black man my entire life. My proudest
- 1:23:46Speaker 9: day as a black man was October sixteenth, nineteen ninety five,
- 1:23:53Speaker 9: the Million Man March. That was never a day in
- 1:23:57Speaker 9: my life I have been more proud to be a
- 1:24:00Speaker 9: black man. A police officer who was on a horse
- 1:24:04Speaker 9: saw me, and I wasn't as famous as I am today,
- 1:24:07Speaker 9: but I had to show me and the boys. I
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: was on showtime at the Apollo Steve Harvey show was
- 1:24:13Speaker 9: just about to start, and this policeman was on horseback
- 1:24:18Speaker 9: and he recognized me, and he got down off his
- 1:24:22Speaker 9: horse and he said, hey, sir, can I say something
- 1:24:24Speaker 9: to you? I said yeah. He said, I apologize. I said,
- 1:24:30Speaker 9: you apologize for what he said, for what we were
- 1:24:34Speaker 9: prepared for. He said, this entire police force was prepared
- 1:24:39Speaker 9: for looting and rioting, and we knew that's what was
- 1:24:43Speaker 9: going to happen. He said, to see this many people
- 1:24:47Speaker 9: and to have no incidents at all, He said, I
- 1:24:51Speaker 9: just wanted to say I'm sorry, I said, I appreciate
- 1:24:54Speaker 9: you saying that, and he got back up on that
- 1:24:56Speaker 9: horse and it was heartfelt. And that was one of
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: the greatest days of my life. But I've had many
- 1:25:03Speaker 9: after that. And you shared two brothers, and remember because
- 1:25:07Speaker 9: you are who you are, and we have overcome all
- 1:25:10Speaker 9: that we've overcome. There's an election coming up, and they
- 1:25:14Speaker 9: talking about black men gonna set this one out because
- 1:25:17Speaker 9: we feel disenfranchised, and I understand why some black people
- 1:25:22Speaker 9: are saying that, I really really do, and we ain't
- 1:25:25Speaker 9: saying that we feel this enfranchised. We have been this enfranchised.
- 1:25:30Speaker 9: It ain't a feeling, it's a fact. It's a reality
- 1:25:33Speaker 9: that we all live in. But it's also the obligation
- 1:25:38Speaker 9: that we have because we will be fathers of children
- 1:25:42Speaker 9: and we have to leave a better world for them
- 1:25:44Speaker 9: than the one we lived in. And this election has
- 1:25:48Speaker 9: something to do with that. Something happened in my world
- 1:25:52Speaker 9: as a black man that I didn't think would ever happened.
- 1:25:54Speaker 9: I saw the election of a black man to become
- 1:25:57Speaker 9: the first African American president of the UN the United States.
- 1:26:00Speaker 9: I didn't think I'd ever lived to see that in
- 1:26:02Speaker 9: my lifetime. I was actually shocked when he won. I
- 1:26:08Speaker 9: voted for him, I pulled for him, I pushed for him,
- 1:26:12Speaker 9: but I was shocked. And now there's another first on
- 1:26:16Speaker 9: the horizon. The first woman could become president, and this
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: woman happens to be black. Now for us, I'm telling
- 1:26:25Speaker 9: you it's a win win. All we got to do
- 1:26:29Speaker 9: is show up and make the difference. I'm tired of
- 1:26:33Speaker 9: people telling me how black people think, how black men are,
- 1:26:36Speaker 9: what black men. I'm tired of your ass ain't black.
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: You don't know, you don't know. But I'm gonna tell
- 1:26:42Speaker 9: you who we really are. We everything you don't think
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: we are. We are capable in ways that you never
- 1:26:48Speaker 9: thought we could be capable of because we that type strong,
- 1:26:52Speaker 9: We black strong, we black men. You feel me, That's
- 1:26:55Speaker 9: who we really are. I'm perfectly fine with that. Congratulations
- 1:27:00Speaker 9: Steve on being a solid black dude. Congratulation all my
- 1:27:03Speaker 9: brothers out there who are solid black dudes. And I
- 1:27:06Speaker 9: know you man, I'm proud of you, man, and I'm
- 1:27:09Speaker 9: glad to be one of you. Count me in every
- 1:27:12Speaker 9: damn day because I'm black twenty four seven, just like
- 1:27:16Speaker 9: the rest of y'all.
