- 0:53Ultimate. fucking casuals what is wrong with
- 0:56me is another podcast by the lbx media thank
- 1:01you yes yes uh boxing b -sides we're back up
- 1:05in your fucking ears um this is not the ultimate
- 1:09effing casuals which you should listen to also
- 1:11but not right now because you're listening to
- 1:14this joined once again by shanada you're back
- 1:19i'm back back up on special guest appearance
- 1:23And the one and only. We're here, Alex. All right.
- 1:30Oh. I think you can do a longer intro for Shanada.
- 1:34I don't know if they're Canadian or not. I always
- 1:39get confused with music. Is Alexis on Fire a
- 1:41band that other people know? I know them. Oh,
- 1:45yeah. Yeah, okay, okay. Canada has the... I think
- 1:50it's... 40 % of our music has to be Canadian
- 1:54somehow. On the radio? Yeah. So there's a lot
- 1:58of bands that I think are very popular because
- 2:00I hear them all the time and no one's ever heard
- 2:02of them. Actually, Alexis on Fire is... Maybe
- 2:06you can disagree with me, but the Hispanic community,
- 2:09they're kind of big. Thanks. I just found out
- 2:15that Marianna's Trench is not very famous. That's
- 2:19actually... I like Marianas Trench. Or I used
- 2:22to. They're a little too... Oh, they're pop.
- 2:26Okay, yeah, I don't know who they are. Never
- 2:28mind. They're not really... They're pop, but,
- 2:30like, their big hit song was Slap You Like a
- 2:34Bitch and You Take It Like a Whore. So they're
- 2:36not, like, happy pop. They're kind of angry pop.
- 2:41Like, I don't get any pop. Yeah. Alexis on fire.
- 2:46Post -hardcore. It's... Yeah. i'm familiar with
- 2:51them i always thought it was because it's all
- 2:54one word i always thought it was alex is on fire
- 2:58well that's the debate right is it they did that
- 3:02on purpose yeah so nobody knows if their name
- 3:05is alex and they're on fire or if alexis is on
- 3:11fire yeah i hope i'm not on fire yeah well Boxing
- 3:16B -sides. Let's extend the olive branch since
- 3:19I mentioned the ultimate F in casuals. UFC 314
- 3:21is coming up. One fight actually at the top of
- 3:26the bill got taken off, but I'll just skip over
- 3:29it. Alexander Volkanovsky, the living legend
- 3:32versus Diego Lopez, the fucking uprising. I'm
- 3:37not going to say superstar or anything yet, but
- 3:39he's making his waves. That's for the featherweight
- 3:41title. Michael Chandler is fighting Patty Pimblitt.
- 3:47It's just the stupidest name I've ever heard.
- 3:49Patty Pimblitt. Johnny Pichik. I love Patty.
- 3:54Patty the Batty Pimblitt. His stupid fucking
- 3:57bowl haircut. Yep. It's the only reason I know
- 4:02him. That and the viral video where his dog had
- 4:04diarrhea on some lady's lawn. Uh -huh. You haven't
- 4:09seen that? I have not. Oh, how do you guys not
- 4:13know this? I'll have to go find it. He was walking
- 4:18his dog, and some lady's ring camera caught it.
- 4:21And he's walking his dog, and he goes and, like,
- 4:23rings her doorbell. And she's like, is that fucking
- 4:25Patty the Batty? And he's like, my dog just took
- 4:29a real sloppy shit on your lawn, and I tried
- 4:32to pick it up, but I can't. Like, do you have
- 4:35some water or something I could pour on it? He's
- 4:37like, I tried. And the lady's like, what the
- 4:40fuck is happening? Is that Patty the Batty? Yeah,
- 4:44my dog just took a real sloppy shit on your vlog.
- 4:49He actually said that word for word, bar for
- 4:51bar? Pretty close. Yeah. In their stupid accents
- 4:57because they live wherever they live. It's a
- 4:59hilarious video. You guys need to find it. Try
- 5:02to do the accent, Shanada. No. No. I'm not going
- 5:07to do that. That's a hate crime. That was funny.
- 5:16Another interesting character, Bryce Mitchell
- 5:19versus John Silva. John Silva is actually really
- 5:24entertaining to watch. He avoids grappling as
- 5:30much as he can. And so does Bryce Mitchell. So
- 5:33this should be moderately entertaining. And Yair
- 5:38Rodriguez versus Patricio Pitbull. Pitbull is
- 5:42making his... debut he's coming off of a just
- 5:47recently released by pfl slash bellator so here
- 5:51he is and uh that's it let's let's get into some
- 5:55fucking boxing here you know there's there's
- 5:59another pitbull in boxing oh yeah mma pants out
- 6:02there yeah they should check out isaac is he
- 6:09isaac or isaac he must be isaac isaac Probably.
- 6:14You suck. Here's just one to mention really quickly.
- 6:23Pat Brown, an Olympian from the UK, makes his
- 6:28debut at Cruiserweight, gets a stoppage in four
- 6:31over Federico Grandone from Argentina. He's a
- 6:36late replacement as well, like a week maybe.
- 6:42Take notes, George Cambosos, because this is
- 6:44how you're supposed to do it. We're just going
- 6:49to shit on Cambo for the rest of his life. Forever.
- 6:53Anytime. Until anytime there's a late replacement
- 7:00of like a week or less and they get stopped in
- 7:02like the first third of the fight, it'll be a
- 7:07Cambosos moment. Last one on this card I wanted
- 7:13to mention was Cameron Vuong. He stops Jordan
- 7:15Flynn in seven. I've been mentioning Cameron
- 7:18Vuong for I don't know how long now, but I'm
- 7:22going to keep doing it. I like Cameron Vuong.
- 7:26He's fun. Moving to the 29th. Top rank in Las
- 7:34Vegas at the Fontainebleau. I'm going to go from
- 7:38the bottom up. There's a whole bunch of other
- 7:40shit that happened on this card that I don't
- 7:42really care about. So from the bottom up, Emiliano
- 7:47Vargas, TKO2 over Giovanni Gonzalez. Party. Bruce,
- 7:54go ahead. I want to also say, as I said last
- 7:59week, I also think Emiliano is going to go very
- 8:02far in his career. And I'm calling it right now.
- 8:04I think he's going to be... A future title holder
- 8:07in the division. Wow. At 140? That's a bold statement.
- 8:11That is. I rank him very highly. I think he has
- 8:15the potential to become a potential great, potentially
- 8:19elite, in fact, in the coming division in the
- 8:23future. Well, you heard it here first. Yeah,
- 8:26you did. He shows a lot of promise. He shows
- 8:28a lot of promise. Of all his brothers, he does
- 8:31show the most. For sure. And he's the youngest.
- 8:35He's, I think, 20, right? Yeah, he's 20. Yeah,
- 8:37he's 20. He's going to do well. As long as Top
- 8:41Ring builds him up properly, he's going to do
- 8:44well. Seem to be doing a good job so far. Bruce
- 8:48Carrington, TKO3 over Enrique Vivas. Shit wasn't
- 8:53even close. Yeah, I mean, Shushu looked good
- 8:58this time. Yeah, he did. I don't really like
- 9:02him, but he did look good. Got it done quick,
- 9:05the way he's supposed to. He talked a whole lot
- 9:07of shit in the post -fight interview. Oh, that's
- 9:11right. He called out fucking everybody. Man.
- 9:17Well, seems like he can back it up so far. So
- 9:23far. So far. Yeah, I don't know if that's going
- 9:26to hold forever. Yeah. One of the things that
- 9:32always goes down is as you go up, the chin resistance
- 9:37goes up, defenses get better. You're not going
- 9:41to have fucking Vivas in front of you every time.
- 9:44Exactly. Hopefully Shushu doesn't get turned
- 9:47into Shushi. Excellent. Nice. You know what else
- 9:57was nice? Brian Norman Jr. TKO3 over Derek Cuevas.
- 10:04Brian Norman better than we expected? Should
- 10:07we not make too much out of this considering
- 10:10it was just a WBO mandatory? I didn't expect
- 10:17him to finish it that fast. Yeah. At all. He
- 10:20looked pretty good. He looked exceptionally good.
- 10:24He looked a lot better than... My previous estimations
- 10:27of him. I think that the conversation is turning
- 10:32from Boots is going to destroy him to can Boots
- 10:35knock him out? Which is, you know, it's kind
- 10:39of a step up, you know, from people saying, oh,
- 10:41he sucks too. Oh, well, you might be a formidable
- 10:43opponent. True. Which I believe I think on my
- 10:47first instance on this podcast, I did kind of,
- 10:51I did say that, huh? I did say that right, Leo,
- 10:55remember? What, about Norman? Yeah, about Norman.
- 10:58Yes. Yeah. I'm not high on Norman. I'm not too,
- 11:04too high, but I still think he's a dangerous
- 11:05fighter. You know? He's super fast. We'll see.
- 11:08He's got really fast hands. Yeah. I was impressed
- 11:12with him this fight. Yeah. Like, I don't know
- 11:16if this means he's going to be a world beater
- 11:20or anything, but he impressed me. How does he
- 11:24do against Barrios? Eat him. You think so? Yeah,
- 11:28Barrios is not that... I don't think Barrios
- 11:30is that good of a fighter. I don't think he's
- 11:31that good either. I think... I like Barrios.
- 11:36The guy that beat him last time was Ramos. Not
- 11:40Jesus Ramos, but it was... Abel Ramos. He was
- 11:44a pretty big underdog coming into the fight.
- 11:47I mean, what was the equalizer was the power.
- 11:50You know, his skill wasn't really there that
- 11:52much, but the power, that almost took out Barrios.
- 11:58Yeah. I'll tell you, Brian Norman Jr. has good
- 12:02power. So if he can fight Barrios like how he
- 12:06fought Quivas this fight, I think Barrios is
- 12:09going to be in some trouble. I'll tell you that
- 12:10for sure. Yeah, you guys can probably convince
- 12:12me. Like I said, he did better than I thought
- 12:16he would this fight. I wasn't expecting that
- 12:18sort of win. It took him, from my estimation
- 12:22of the welterweight champions, like Boots, then
- 12:25Stanionis, then Barrios, then Norman. That's
- 12:28where I had it. But now, Norman, after this,
- 12:31maybe swap Norman and Barrios a little bit. They
- 12:36should fight. They should. That's not going to
- 12:40happen, though. They won't fight. I'll guarantee
- 12:42you. PBC in the top rank? Definitely not. But
- 12:46they should. They should, yes, of course. Those
- 12:50two never really see eye to eye properly. I fucking
- 12:54hate the politics of boxing. It ruins everything.
- 12:57That could be a whole podcast in and of itself,
- 13:00just talking shit about the podcast of each promotional
- 13:03company. Yeah. And then how much we love Turkey
- 13:07so we could get that Saudi bonus, huh? Yeah.
- 13:12Not worth it. No, it's not worth it. I don't
- 13:17want to sell my soul to this motherfucker. Yeah,
- 13:19but I'm going to sell my soul. It's not going
- 13:21to be to the fucking Saudis. Yeah, I suppose
- 13:25that's a little more personal for you than us,
- 13:28probably. Yeah, you actually have a vendetta,
- 13:30huh? Well, it's a topic for another time. That's
- 13:36a different podcast right there. Yeah, that one
- 13:38is too. Mikayla Mayer and Sandy Bryan. Do it
- 13:43again. Michaela Mayer gets it done clean this
- 13:45time. I thought Sandy Ryan won the first time,
- 13:47but Sandy Ryan, let's say that the cards did
- 13:51go her way. Sandy Ryan's win would not have been
- 13:54as good as this one that Michaela Mayer has over
- 13:58Sandy Ryan. They were talking about doing it
- 14:01a third time? Like, what? Fucking what for? Who
- 14:05else are they going to fight, though? There's
- 14:09not that many good women in this weight class.
- 14:11Natasha Jonas is a good one. Michaela Mayer and
- 14:15Natasha Jonas already fought, but that was a
- 14:20questionable decision. That's putting it pretty
- 14:21nicely. Who's the one chick? She just came into
- 14:26the scene. Lauren Price just beat Natasha Jonas.
- 14:31I don't think I know who Lauren Price is. She's
- 14:34really fresh onto the scene. She's being built
- 14:39up right now. Beat Jessica McCaskill. She might
- 14:43be a future title holder. She's already got two.
- 14:49Yeah, I was going to say I think she already
- 14:51is. I thought they were interim titles. No. Really?
- 14:55She's got three. Three of the four, I believe.
- 14:59Oh, interim. No, she has IBF, WBC, and I think
- 15:05WBA. I'm going to check. IBO. What the hell?
- 15:09Oh, shoot. That's my bad, guys. If somebody has
- 15:14the IBO, especially on the women's side, chances
- 15:18are they have everything else, too. Yeah, Lauren
- 15:22Price is the WBA champion. So let me ask you
- 15:26guys this, okay? Do you guys often tune into
- 15:28female boxing? um if it's that's also a different
- 15:33weight class lauren price is one weight class
- 15:36low oh no she's not no they're both welchers
- 15:38sorry sorry um i watched them on the cards but
- 15:44i don't really look for it yeah it's definitely
- 15:47getting better but until pretty recently women's
- 15:51boxing was not as good it's pretty there's so
- 15:54many mishmet So many mismatches. Like, I'll never
- 15:57forget that poor Canadian barista that they put
- 16:00in with a world title holder. And she just got
- 16:03fucking demolished in like 12 seconds. That wasn't
- 16:07that long ago. That was like 2020. Someone that
- 16:10took a few boxer -sized classes. I would have
- 16:14done better. And I am not a boxer, but I would
- 16:16have done better than that. Like, the first punch
- 16:20might have missed if it was me because I'd be
- 16:22too far away for her to hit me. mayor definitely
- 16:25won this one yeah pretty clearly yeah very clearly
- 16:28i don't know if i need to see another one i think
- 16:31i'm with you leo but i just i also don't really
- 16:35know who else they fight that lauren price is
- 16:39a good one just lauren price uh yeah natasha
- 16:43jonas if you want to get revenge uh michaela
- 16:47if michaela mayor wants revenge for the crappy
- 16:50decision I guess. I don't know if I particularly
- 16:54want to see that either. Right. I don't really
- 16:57think I do either. It's just Lauren Price. Just
- 17:01start racking up those belts and start racking
- 17:04up those defenses. Mayer is more skilled than
- 17:09a lot of the women, I think. Like, her fundamentals
- 17:11are better. I think she maybe had better coaching.
- 17:16Yes. Really don't like how they make that whole
- 17:20fucking storyline of the fight. They make it
- 17:23all about that one coach that used to work with
- 17:26Michaela Mayer, then switched to working with
- 17:29Sandy Ryan. Yeah. I don't remember what it's
- 17:34called, but it's something about literature or
- 17:37just any sort of written art that if there's
- 17:42two women having... Do they have dialogue? And
- 17:46is it not about a man? The something test. Yeah.
- 17:51Berkmeyer test. Is that it? Starts with a B.
- 17:54I remember that much, but. I'm surprised they
- 17:57didn't mention it. Bechdel test. Yeah. I'm surprised
- 18:02they didn't mention the paint in any of the posts.
- 18:04They did. They did. Fucking everywhere. Mayer
- 18:07had that red handprint on her ass. I'm sure that
- 18:10was a nod to the paint thing. Absolutely. No,
- 18:13I was joking. Yeah, they plastered that shit
- 18:15everywhere. Yeah. I missed the sarcasm. Sorry.
- 18:21But this fight did not pass the Bechdel test.
- 18:24No. Do better, top rank. Although, I guess it
- 18:28is kind of a thing. Trainer switches? Yeah. I
- 18:35guess. It's like when they make a big deal about
- 18:37guys being sparring partners five years ago,
- 18:39and you're like, eh. You're like Rody and Ryan?
- 18:44Yeah. Or, like, they've really been trying to
- 18:47push the Joe Joyce and Herkovich amateur fight
- 18:51being important. That was fucking a million years
- 18:54ago, guys. No one cares. Well, you know, with
- 18:58Tank and Roach, Tank wanted the amateurs, but
- 19:01Roach really wanted the pro. That one I actually
- 19:05do think... I can get down with that one. Yeah,
- 19:08that one, Roach was not scared of the power.
- 19:11There's another... little one that doesn't get
- 19:14brought up a lot that's nico ali walsh is actually
- 19:17muhammad ali's grandson i don't know if you guys
- 19:20knew that but i tried try not to put it out there
- 19:23because it seems like top rank doesn't want to
- 19:25it's a bit of a secret it's a bit i've never
- 19:29heard of that it's boxing insider stuff i might
- 19:32be i don't know i wasn't there when uh when it
- 19:36happened when it was conceived go back to ultimate
- 19:39fucking casuals bro yeah no kidding Pedal my
- 19:43casual bullshit over there. Support for this

- 21:53casual bullshit? William Cepeda and Tevin Farmer.
- 21:57What a fight. Just some quick ones on the way
- 22:00up. Yocasta Valle, the jungle warrior goddess.
- 22:07split decision over Marlon Esparza. It was competitive,
- 22:12though, so my estimation when we talked about
- 22:16it on Boxing Before Dark, I was thinking that
- 22:19Marlon Esparza was washed, spent, fucking in
- 22:24the hamper, getting ready to throw in the wash,
- 22:27but definitely not the case here. I thought she
- 22:31would pull it out. I really did, but she's not
- 22:35done. Maybe not as good as she was, but she's
- 22:38still tough as nails and has a decent gas tank.
- 22:41She came in overweight. This isn't the first
- 22:45time. No, but she was going down a weight class
- 22:48as well. That's true. She made her usual weight
- 22:53class. She made her usual weight, but didn't
- 22:55make the 112. So, Yocasta, she's fighting someone
- 23:0015, 20 pounds heavier. 15, probably. Yeah, but
- 23:06that's kind of why I thought Esparza might win.
- 23:08I knew she'd be bigger. It was an entertaining
- 23:12fight. Probably another one where you could argue
- 23:15that the two -minute rounds isn't great. No.
- 23:18I don't care for the two -minute rounds. Actually,
- 23:21that was worth bringing up with Michaela Mayer
- 23:25and Sandy Ryan. Mayer might have got the knockout
- 23:28if they were three -minute rounds. Yeah, because
- 23:30as soon as the action started heating up, The
- 23:32fucking round ends. It was ridiculous. I'm with
- 23:36the guys in the Discord, or not just Discord,
- 23:40but I'm on the side of you can't change it in
- 23:43the pros. Just all at once. You gotta start at
- 23:47the bottom. Grow it from the bottom. Yeah. You
- 23:51can't expect people that have been fighting two
- 23:53-minute rounds for 15 years to suddenly just
- 23:55do three -minute rounds for 10 rounds. That's
- 23:59true. They've been doing it for so long. I would,
- 24:02at the very least, then, would like to make the
- 24:04round counts the same. Like, title fights are
- 24:0712, even if they're still two minutes. I could
- 24:11get behind adding rounds. And I do think they
- 24:14should go to three -minute rounds. But I think
- 24:17you kind of got to do it in the amateurs. From
- 24:19the beginning of their journeys. Yeah. But I
- 24:25don't know how that really looks either. It's
- 24:29hard to make a big change like that in a sport,
- 24:31I think. No matter how you do it, people are
- 24:34going to complain. I haven't really done anything
- 24:36like that, really ever, change the round times.
- 24:42No, like, I don't know. I'm picturing it kind
- 24:44of being like helmets in hockey, where it becomes,
- 24:49I guess in boxing, it would be one more thing
- 24:52that you negotiate. Could be. You negotiate the
- 24:56size of the ring, you negotiate the number of
- 24:59rounds for fights. Women for maybe five years
- 25:05while people are coming up from the amateurs
- 25:07negotiate the time length. That could have some
- 25:10repercussions that are unexpected though. Yeah,
- 25:14but I mean like so many things are negotiated
- 25:17fight to fight in boxing. I don't think negotiating
- 25:20the length of the rounds would be... that much
- 25:24different. I guess you're right. They just gotta
- 25:27get the sanctioning bodies on board. Because
- 25:30that's what's holding it up at this point, I
- 25:31think. Some of these women want three. Yeah.
- 25:36And the fucking argument that women can't fight
- 25:39three minute rounds is stupid. I guess they could.
- 25:43UFC or MMA in general, they fight five minutes.
- 25:47Same as the men do. They have some bullshit argument
- 25:51about injuries and stuff. It's stupid. No, yeah.
- 25:56Yocasta Valle, split decision over Marlon Esparza.
- 26:00If you're listening, Joey, our girl, she didn't
- 26:04make it. It's alright, though. Yocasta Valle,
- 26:07always fantastic. Always fun to watch. She beats
- 26:11Anissa Estrada, and I'll die on that hill. I
- 26:16like Valle. I do. I just thought that Esparza
- 26:19was going to be too big for her. Yeah, it was
- 26:22a problem for sure. It did prove to be a problem
- 26:25still. Oscar Collazo. KO5 over Edwin Cano. WBA,
- 26:35WBO, minimum weight titles on the line. Good
- 26:39stuff. I have very little notes. He looked great.
- 26:44He's... Bring in excitement to a weight division
- 26:47that, what did we call them? Or what did you
- 26:50call them? What did I call them? Victim weights?
- 26:53Victim weights. I know the guys in the chat were
- 26:57kind of saying that Koyazo was not, you know,
- 27:00good for beating all these cans. But, I mean,
- 27:02his skill, he has skill. He's got a lot of skill.
- 27:04He is not beating cans. Koyazo's good. And he's
- 27:10only had 11 fights. I hate. When people do this
- 27:14with the minimum weights, it's like, oh, he's
- 27:16just been knocking over Thai cans for however
- 27:19long. And it's like, no. He won a belt in ten
- 27:26fights. Maybe less than ten fights. Less than
- 27:30ten. Yeah, he won a belt in nine fights. Became
- 27:35a unified champion in ten. Yeah, I don't... I
- 27:41don't understand why people are saying he's knocking
- 27:44over cans. They're not cans. They're fucking
- 27:46title holders. Who else do you want them to fight?
- 27:50They're pretty good people, you know? Not bad.
- 27:53Yeah, they're fine. Collazo's good, though. Collazo's
- 27:56good. He's gonna be a problem. His biggest problem
- 28:00is gonna be that he's tiny. Like, even at that
- 28:03weight class, he's not very big. He's 5 '2".
- 28:06Like, CP Freshmart is... was... Is 5 '0". I think
- 28:13Melvin Jerusalem is also 5 '0"? Yeah, and so
- 28:20are the brothers. The Shigeoka brothers? Yeah.
- 28:24I think they're both 5 '0". Melvin is 5 '2".
- 28:30Everybody in there is about 4 '10"-5 '2". There's
- 28:37not much height range. There's this one, this
- 28:40other Filipino guy, Pedro Taduran. He's 5 '4".
- 28:46So that's actually pretty tall for 105. He's
- 28:50tall for 105. Not Katani, 105. But no, I don't
- 28:57think anybody beats Collazo in that weight class.
- 29:00I think he could also move up at least one. Maybe
- 29:05to the strawweight, right? This is Strawweight.
- 29:10Minimum and Straw are the same names. What's
- 29:15the weight class above? Lightflyweight. Who's
- 29:20in Lightfly? It's actually really competitive
- 29:22right now, Lightfly, isn't it? I don't recognize
- 29:25anybody in here. Oh. But there are some decent
- 29:30records. Filipinos, Mexicans. Japanese, Thai,
- 29:37as expected. Not really any American stuff, huh?
- 29:44No. No, this is flyweight. I'm thinking flyweight.
- 29:49Flyweight is very competitive right now. And
- 29:51if people want to hear about flyweight, they
- 29:54need to come to Boxing Before Dark because there
- 29:57was a Japanese doubleheader weekend this same
- 30:00weekend that me and Leo are going to talk about.
- 30:04Yes. And I'm going to watch it and be well -studied
- 30:08and well -prepared. It was great. Man. You know
- 30:14what else was good? William Zepeda versus Tevin
- 30:17Farmer rematch. It was... It was... I thought
- 30:23it... I'm not sure what to really say. It was...
- 30:27It was great. Zepeda was putting on the pressure,
- 30:31throwing a lot of punches. Tevin Farmer... Showed
- 30:33that he's still very crafty. Was landing good
- 30:37counters. He was landing some solid shots. Like,
- 30:41he was landing the cleaner punches, but much
- 30:44fewer. So it's one of those, like, which do you
- 30:48prefer? I don't know. I'm kind of feeling like
- 30:51Tevin Farmer might have taken this one as well.
- 30:54It's like I felt like he took the first. I disagree.
- 30:59But the thing is, I think he could have won.
- 31:02It seemed like he was injured, correct? Yes.
- 31:05Yeah, he fucked up a hand and the other elbow.
- 31:10The thing is that with the first fight, I think
- 31:13he won personally. This fight, I think he lost,
- 31:16but I think he really would have won if he had
- 31:19everything. If he was naturally healthy, you
- 31:21know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Healthy farmer
- 31:23wins this one. I agree. I honestly believe if
- 31:27this went one more round, I think he would have
- 31:30knocked out Zepeda. If you saw how he was beating
- 31:33up Cepeda in that last round, dude, Cepeda was
- 31:36stunned. He was stunned. He had him hurt. He
- 31:38was kind of bad. Yeah. If he had taken the initiative,
- 31:43I think he would have knocked him down. Well,
- 31:45I think Farmer was trying to save his hand for
- 31:47that last round. His power hand is the one he
- 31:49hurt early. And I think he wasn't throwing full
- 31:54power for most of the fight and really going
- 31:57for that knockout in the 12th round. But I did
- 32:01think he was behind on the cards. Yeah. He definitely
- 32:06won that first fight, though. I don't care what
- 32:07anyone says. They fucked him. He won the first
- 32:10fight. I felt really bad for Farmer, too, because
- 32:14they told him to do the interview, and he was
- 32:18like, no, I don't want to. And then he was angry.
- 32:23He said some things he probably shouldn't have
- 32:25said. Nothing terrible, but just like, I'm so
- 32:27fucking sick of this. I always lose the close
- 32:29fights. Yeah, how many more times do I have to
- 32:32do this before one of them goes my way? And he
- 32:38was still respectful to Zepeda, though. Like,
- 32:40Farmer's a respectful guy. I like Kevin Farmer,
- 32:44but yeah, he always gets fucked on close fights.
- 32:47This one, I don't think he particularly should
- 32:50have won, but... I honestly don't really think
- 32:53that it was really in his... I'll explain. It
- 32:56just wasn't possible for him to win this one
- 32:58if he was injured like that. You know what I
- 33:00mean? I guess someone like Zepeda. You need to
- 33:03throw... You need to give it all out to Zepeda.
- 33:06But... That was something that Tevin Farmer did
- 33:08say. Yeah. And the thing is with Tevin Farmer,
- 33:13I mean, he didn't crash out as bad as someone
- 33:14like Anthony Joshua and Usyk. You know what I
- 33:17mean? No, no, it wasn't like a terrible crash
- 33:20out, but it was, I am emotional and I don't want
- 33:23to talk to you. And then they made him talk.
- 33:26Yeah. I don't think they should do that to boxers.
- 33:30Boxers should have the right to like refuse those
- 33:32after immediate after interviews. Well, I'm going
- 33:37to get out of the ring. Yeah. Usually when they
- 33:38do, when they leave the ring, that's how they
- 33:40avoid it. They stopped them from leaving the
- 33:44ring. Oh, lame. Like he was on his way out and
- 33:49they stopped him and told him he had to do the
- 33:51interview. Lame. Pretty lame. I did notice that
- 33:54Claudia was not translating it in real time.
- 33:59Oh, the farmer. Yeah. Yeah. She didn't translate
- 34:04it to the Mexican crowd. Yep. Yeah. I like Claudia.
- 34:10I think she's good at her job. Probably the right
- 34:12call not to translate that. Because he was already
- 34:18getting booed hard, and they booed the fuck out
- 34:21of the American anthem, and I loved it. Oh, yeah,
- 34:25that's right. You're Canadian. Yeah, I am. William
- 34:30Zepeda, what is next? Because if he's thinking
- 34:34that he's really going to fight Shakur Stevenson,
- 34:36think again, Playboy. That's not the best move
- 34:40for you. I personally think that Zepeda, I think
- 34:44he's going to become another Giovanni Cabrera.
- 34:46Or like a Thomas Delorme, where they pulled up
- 34:49younger fighters. Who were we saying that about
- 34:51last time? I think last time we said that about,
- 34:54I believe, dude. I don't remember. Was it Kambucha?
- 34:58Oh, Kambosas. Kambosas. Yeah. Yeah, I think William
- 35:03Cepeda is going to be like that for once he loses.
- 35:06For Mexico? Yeah, for Mexico, once he loses.
- 35:10Because, I don't know, I mean, he has a lot of,
- 35:13he has pretty good output. But his skill, man,
- 35:16I think he just kind of lacks in, you know? Yeah.
- 35:20Zepeda's whole thing is output. You're right.
- 35:22Like, if people can handle the pressure, he's
- 35:26got nothing. And, dude, that ring was small.
- 35:29Like, it was really, really small. And the fact
- 35:32that he couldn't really cut off the ring properly
- 35:35in a small ring like that, that just screams
- 35:39to me that he's just a tiny skill. Well, and
- 35:42Farber was making him miss. The whole night.
- 35:45Farmer was making a mess. That too. I mean, I
- 35:48personally think Roach beats him. Zepeda. Well,
- 35:50not kills, but you beat him in split to two.
- 35:53Shakur, I think also could even knock him out.
- 35:57Shakur does not knock out Zepeda. I would say
- 36:00Roach knocks out Zepeda before Shakur does. I
- 36:03know that sounds silly. I know that sounds silly.
- 36:06But Zepeda, to get knocked down by Farmer. Farmer
- 36:11has more power than he gets credit for. You guys
- 36:13are just wrong about Farmer. I'm agreeing with
- 36:17you here. Not you, Leo. I just mean the shit
- 36:20talkers. Farmer has power. Not good power, though.
- 36:26A fuck of a lot more than Shakur. I was going
- 36:29to say, Shakur does. Well, the thing is, I don't
- 36:32know. I just feel like Farmer... I don't know.
- 36:35It's hard to explain. I think the reason why
- 36:37he has good power is because he has really well
- 36:40-placed shots. Like, really, really well -placed
- 36:43shots. And the way he uses his punches. Half
- 36:45of how you get power. That's why Inoue knocks
- 36:49people out. Well, Shakur, the way he boxed that
- 36:52135 from what I've seen, he doesn't really...
- 36:54His jab is not so much a power jab as much as
- 36:58it's kind of closer to a flicker jab. Does that
- 36:59make sense? Or do you guys disagree with me on
- 37:01that? I just think Shakur is shit and I don't
- 37:04watch him enough to have an opinion on any specifics.
- 37:07You don't like Shakur? I fucking hate Shakur.
- 37:10I hate him so much. Why is that? Why? He's boring
- 37:16as fuck. oh yeah I hate him because of that too
- 37:19but like he talks so he has no self -awareness
- 37:23I went on this rant on the other podcast but
- 37:26he talks about knocking people out and all this
- 37:30stuff and he's never gonna do it like know who
- 37:33you are be Reagan now like I'm gonna make you
- 37:37look stupid I'm gonna give you a boxing lesson
- 37:39you're never gonna touch me these are all facts
- 37:41Shakira can say but I'm gonna go in there and
- 37:44put him in the hospital no fucking way No fucking
- 37:48way. I just think that Zepeda just doesn't have
- 37:51enough skill to, you know. I think Zepeda could
- 37:55stand there and let Shakur punch him in the face
- 37:58for five minutes and Shakur still doesn't knock
- 38:00him out. Really? Zepeda has a chin. Well, the
- 38:04thing is, I think Zepeda's chin is kind of overrated.
- 38:08You know what I mean? I think he's been with
- 38:10enough camps to where people think that he does
- 38:12have a good chin. Maybe, but Shakur has negative
- 38:16power. Yeah, maybe that was a little ballsy.
- 38:19I'm going to stop defending that. I'm thinking
- 38:22about it now. Maybe that was a little too controversial,
- 38:24even for myself. I'm not saying that Zepeda beats
- 38:29him, but Shakur does not knock Zepeda out. Shakur
- 38:32doesn't knock anybody out. I think he knocks
- 38:34them down at least, though. He gets a knockdown.
- 38:37Let me tell you, Shakur's really good. You can't
- 38:40deny Shakur's really, really good. He's very
- 38:41skilled. Yeah. Yeah. I still think Keyshawn beats
- 38:45Kushker. He's a better BOMAC fighter, but, you
- 38:49know. Yeah, he does not knock Zepeda out. Does
- 38:52Keyshawn knock Zepeda out? Uh, yeah. I lean towards
- 38:57no. I don't think Zepeda's chin is as bad as
- 39:00you think it is. I don't think it's as good as
- 39:03you think it is. Hence the disagreement. Yeah.
- 39:09We'll see in the future. I guess. The thing is,
- 39:14for Mexicans, I'm not trying to be biased, but
- 39:17in the Mexican community, we like to favor the
- 39:21Isak Cruises. Yeah, I love Mexican -style fighters.
- 39:26The thing is, they're fun to watch, but it's
- 39:28just, I don't... I like the B -Bowls. I do like
- 39:33the B -Bowls. I just think that watching skill
- 39:37and watching a chess match is kind of fun. To
- 39:39me, at least. It can be fun as long as they actually
- 39:43throw punches and hit people. Yeah, I agree.
- 39:48Shakira's too far the other way. It's not watching
- 39:51a chess match. It's watching fucking paint dry.
- 39:55He's like Ali if Ali never threw a punch. He's
- 39:59like Rigendale. Rigendale was... Rigendale could
- 40:04if he just chose not to knock people out. Shakira
- 40:07can't even choose to knock people out. I won
- 40:0935 at least. Fucking anything. Healing punches.
- 40:14Him and Devin Haney. That one is a barn burner
- 40:20for sure, huh? Devin Haney versus Shakur? I remember
- 40:25when Shakur walked into the ring with Devin Haney
- 40:28after he beat Lomachenko. I was like, I almost
- 40:31cried. Nobody would watch that. No, fuck no.
- 40:37Now, with Tank and Shakur, I'd watch. It'd be
- 40:40fun. Probably. Maybe. I never get excited about
- 40:46Shakur fights. They're not exciting. He is very
- 40:50skilled, but he is boring as fuck. And his lack
- 40:53of reality in his shit -talking just annoys the
- 40:57hell out of me. I guarantee you that they'll
- 41:00probably put Shakur versus the Peta on the Canelo
- 41:04Crawford undercard. You think so? I think so
- 41:08because, I mean... Well, I don't know if it's
- 41:11appropriate to say on the air, but it seems like
- 41:14they're kind of instigating a certain rivalry.
- 41:20Yeah, I can see that. Oh, I know what you mean.
- 41:24Yeah, to try to sell tickets. It's not a lie
- 41:28that it does sell, that type of rivalry does
- 41:30sell, but to try to instigate it like that is
- 41:33kind of crummy. Floyd Mayweather made a career
- 41:37off of it. In the latter half. He's a real candle.
- 41:43They do make those country versus country cards
- 41:48every once in a while. Japan does it. They'll
- 41:50bring in a whole bunch of Mexicans and it'll
- 41:53be like Japan versus Mexico or Japan versus the
- 41:56Philippines. Not the big televised ones, but
- 42:00like Koraku and Paul has Japan versus the Philippines
- 42:03fucking twice a year, I think. I know They have
- 42:08Mexico versus Puerto Rico. Yeah, they do those
- 42:12cards a lot. Yeah, which I think I'm getting
- 42:15sick of as well. Well, the rivalry isn't that...
- 42:19Well, and it's not that good right now. There's
- 42:22not that many good Puerto Ricans right now. Oscar
- 42:25Collazo, baby. Yeah, but I mean, you can't make...
- 42:31There's Mexican minimum weights that he could
- 42:33fight. That's worth... You know, the rivalry
- 42:38title, you know what I mean? But you can't make
- 42:40a whole card out of it. Like, there's not three
- 42:43good Puerto Rico versus Mexico fights. Berlanga,
- 42:47Zayas, and Colazo. There you go. Boom. I guess.
- 42:53We should be promoters. We should be promoters,
- 42:57huh? We would be good promoters, but we would
- 43:01end up being crummy in the end. Anything more?
- 43:05No, I don't think so. For this one? No. All right.
- 43:09Zepeda was underwhelming, and Farmer wins if
- 43:12his hand isn't busted. Yes. All right. Last thing
- 43:18is, just really quickly, Konstantin Ursu. It's
- 43:23another monster, but this one's from Moldova.
- 43:27The Moldovan monster. He slaps Ethan James in
- 43:31seven. He should be the bear. Yeah. His last
- 43:36name means bear. Why is he not the bear? I don't
- 43:39know. Because he's the Moldovan monster. I'm
- 43:44so fucking sick of monsters. There's one monster,
- 43:46bitches. Well, maybe for you. Be real. There's
- 43:54one monster. I got the Mexican monster. I got
- 43:58the Mexican monster. You got the Japanese monster.
- 44:00If you're the Mexican anything, you're not the
- 44:02thing. If you're the someplace thing, you're
- 44:08not the thing. You're the knockoff. Of that place
- 44:11only. Yeah. You're going to piss off the Mexican
- 44:15audience with that one. Good. They need to face
- 44:19reality. They can call in. The Mexican audience
- 44:22can call in at our number. 833 -589 -7637. There
- 44:28you go. I had a beta. I had a beta. Leo, did
- 44:32it say that way? Yeah. But, well, his nickname
- 44:36before was cooler anyways because he was the
- 44:38red flag, right? Yeah. That's a way cooler nickname.
- 44:42That was a cool name. The Mexican monster. Oh,
- 44:46I'm the dollar store version from a different
- 44:48country. Yeah. Anyways. Right. So that was a
- 44:57lot more than I expected for Constantine Urso.
- 45:01But there you go. Hey, did you know that our

- 48:0910th um it's a bunch of on here there's a lot
- 48:15of french canadians so if you like french canadians
- 48:18then there you go it's boxing nobody likes french
- 48:21canadians not even the french canadians wait
- 48:25you guys like french canadians up there nobody
- 48:27likes the french canadians from anywhere Dr.
- 48:33Blue, where is me mama? What? That was the surprise
- 48:38reference, I'm sorry. Oh, I never watched that
- 48:41one. Dr. Blue. Oh, Dr. Blue, where is me mama?
- 48:47No, you need to... You guys should look up Quebec
- 48:51accents. They're fucking awful. I've heard nothing
- 48:54good about them. Fucking awful. The stereotypical
- 49:04sort of caricature -ish. Yeah, except like through
- 49:11the nose and more French -Canadian swearing.
- 49:17That's going to be our downfall is the French
- 49:19-Canadians in this podcast. They're going to
- 49:24protest this podcast. The French are good at
- 49:28protesting. They can come for me. They can come
- 49:32for me. I'm from Western Canada. The French can
- 49:35go fuck themselves. With the beavers. Right.
- 49:43After we're done fucking the French here. Marv
- 49:47Nation. This is in Albuquerque at The Pit. I
- 49:52wasn't going to even check this one out until
- 49:55I saw the name of the venue. And then I decided,
- 50:00you know what? That's a pretty cool place. What's
- 50:03going on here? And we got a bit of a MMA guys
- 50:08doing boxing plus some actual boxers. Fucking
- 50:12Rampage Jackson. What? Even I know that name.
- 50:17Yeah. Versus Rashad Evans. Six rounds at heavyweight.
- 50:22That's one of the MMA guys or MMA people fighting
- 50:26MMA people boxing. I should say. And then the
- 50:30other one, John McDessie versus Diego Sanchez.
- 50:34It's one of the first winners of the Ultimate
- 50:38Fighter TV show. Nice. On the undercard of this,
- 50:44we have Fernando Vargas. This is the eldest,
- 50:48I believe, of the Vargas brothers versus Gonzalo
- 50:52Correa. 10 rounds at 154. Fucking Shane Mosley
- 50:58Jr. versus DeAndre Pettis. 10 rounds at middleweight.
- 51:03And Brian Mendoza. Wondered what he was doing
- 51:07last week after the Fandoro talk. No, he's fighting
- 51:15Jire De Los Santos at 154 as well. Party. Last
- 51:21thing, and this is the reason we're here. Motherfucking...
- 51:27Jaron Ennis versus Imantas Stanionis. Other than
- 51:32Ray Ford versus Thomas Matisse, is there anything
- 51:36else on the undercard worth talking about? Wasn't
- 51:38Omari Jones fighting in this one or no? He is.
- 51:42Omari Jones fighting? Yeah. That's going to be
- 51:44worth checking out. Oh, he was on... Yeah, that's
- 51:48right. He was on DAZN not too... Like, fucking
- 51:52two weeks ago. Three weeks ago. It's going to
- 51:56be worth checking out for him. I'm watching his
- 51:58career closely. Yeah, Lamar Jones is definitely
- 52:02worth watching. I don't recognize anybody else
- 52:06other than Ray Ford, so have fun with that. And
- 52:11Jaron Ennis unifying the IBF and his IBF with
- 52:17Stan Jonas' WBA title. Oh. What happens? Boots
- 52:22should win this, right? Yeah, he should. That's
- 52:24what we're all expecting? Yes. The thing is that
- 52:29I don't think he's going to win easily. No. I
- 52:32think it's going to be a war, in my opinion.
- 52:36I've been thinking about a lot of fights this
- 52:38year, but this one for sure, the way that Stan
- 52:43Yodas fights and Boots fights, it's going to
- 52:45devolve into something spectacular. But gruesome,
- 52:49I think. I like standing on this. I'm going to
- 52:53cheer for him. I'm pretty give or take on Enes.
- 52:58The thing with Boots, he's really good. He's
- 53:01exceptionally well. He does an exceptionally
- 53:04well job at taking down a high guard. But, I
- 53:08mean, in my opinion, I think Boots makes a lot
- 53:10of mistakes that not a lot of people see. I think
- 53:12one of the biggest is his inside work and his
- 53:17defense on the inside because a lot of the time
- 53:20he just... I don't know the word, but he just
- 53:22stops. You know what I mean? He holds a Philly
- 53:25shell on the inside. And he doesn't have, like...
- 53:28I want to explain this. You know, like, let me
- 53:32give you an example. His last fight, right, with
- 53:33Chuka Sedazian. He got hit a lot with shots that
- 53:36he should not have gotten hit with if he was
- 53:39an elite fighter. You know? He has a really...
- 53:42He makes the mistake of just standing in the
- 53:45pocket and staying still. You know what I mean?
- 53:49Yeah, no, I agree with you. He kind of takes
- 53:53breaks almost. Exactly, yeah. And it's like,
- 53:56well, if Danny Otis catches him hard, because
- 53:59Danny Otis, he's a pretty hard puncher, right?
- 54:03He's got heavy hands. And if he catches boots
- 54:07with the left hook, which that's potentially
- 54:11going to happen. I don't know what's going to
- 54:13happen. I don't know what's going to unfold.
- 54:16I think that... This is going to be, for sure,
- 54:19Boots' hardest fight. Well, and I do think...
- 54:21Knocked out on both ends. I do think Boots might
- 54:25have trouble getting Stanionis' respect. Stanionis
- 54:29takes a punch well. Like, he's not going to be
- 54:33scared. Yeah, for sure. The thing with Boots
- 54:36is that I just worry for how he's going to take
- 54:39a left hook from Stanionis. Because that Philly
- 54:42shell, he does not belong... I don't know. I
- 54:46just don't like him using the Philly shell. He's
- 54:49from Philly, but you don't need it. Yeah. No,
- 54:54this one should be exciting. I'm excited for
- 54:57it. Predictions? Ennis with a close decision.
- 55:06I think Ennis is probably going to win it, but
- 55:09I'm going to be cheering for Stanionis. I might
- 55:12put a coffee bet on Stanionis. I think the odds
- 55:14will be pretty wide. I believe there's two ways
- 55:19it could go. I believe, I think, like what you
- 55:22said, a really close end of decision or a standing
- 55:26on his TKO. TKO, specifically. Specifically,
- 55:33yeah. I don't see standing on his winning this
- 55:35via decision. If it's a matchup fight, I don't
- 55:39see standing on his winning decision. Possible.
- 55:43I don't know about impossible, but unlikely.
- 55:47I would say impossible with a match room. They
- 55:50tend to do that type of shit. You know? You guys
- 55:55know politics, you know? They're not going to
- 55:57let Boots Ennis win. Or they're going to have
- 56:01to let him lose a decision against a PBC fighter
- 56:03on their own. Freaking, you know, on their own
- 56:06freaking card. You know what I mean? No. That's
- 56:12true. I'm going to be cheering for Estani on
- 56:14SKO. Same. Yeah, me too. I like boots, but I
- 56:18mean, it would be fun to see. It would be funny
- 56:21to see Stanley on his win. Well, we got to back
- 56:25the Lithuanians. That's true. I don't know why,
- 56:30but we do. I was waiting for the explanation.
- 56:36They're not American. Oh. And then I remembered
- 56:40you guys were both American. I disagree because
- 56:43I thought it was funny. Well, anything more for
- 56:47the matchroom card? No. All right. Well, then,
- 56:51let me do... You've been listening to The Boxing

- 58:04That. So, we're heading into Boots Weekend. Also,
- 58:10UFC 314, Fear of the Persuasion. But it's Boots
- 58:15Weekend. Parting words. Alex, start us off. Yeah.
- 58:23I'm hopeful to see how Omar Jones' career looks
- 58:26like, his professional career. I think he can
- 58:30excel. I know a lot of Olympic guys, they kind
- 58:35of... become so part of the pros. But you know
- 58:39what? I think he can. He's got the goods. I think
- 58:43he's got the goods. We'll see what happens in
- 58:44the future. My turn? Yep. I actually got a quote
- 58:49for this one. So, I really like Edgar Allan Poe's
- 58:54writing and his whole life story is fucking madness
- 58:57and his death is crazy. If you guys don't know
- 59:01how Edgar Allan Poe died, you should go read
- 59:03the Wikipedia. Absolutely. Yeah. It's, well,
- 59:08like, mysteriously is the best way to put it.
- 59:10He disappeared one night, and then they found
- 59:13him the next day delirious in somebody else's
- 59:17clothes. And then he died at the hospital. And
- 59:20nobody knows what the fuck happened. But Edgar
- 59:24Allan Poe's life is awesome. But I found a quote,
- 59:29not from one of his stories, but just something
- 59:31he said that I really liked. All religion, my
- 59:34friend, is simply evolved out of fraud, fear,
- 59:37greed, imagination, and poetry. I like that one.
- 59:42I like boxing. Yeah, I need to find somebody
- 59:44who liked boxing and wrote about boxing. But
- 59:47I have read every Edgar Allan Poe story and poem,
- 59:51and some of them are hit or miss, but a lot of
- 59:54the less popular ones are really mindfucks. Yes,
- 59:58I've read a few of them. Yeah, I love them. I
- 1:00:04think I already mentioned UFC 314, so check out
- 1:00:08Ultimate FN Casuals if you want to hear more
- 1:00:10about that event. You can't see it, but I'm wearing
- 1:00:14a fucking Boxing Over Everything t -shirt. Do
- 1:00:17you wonder where you can get one of those? Shop
- 1:00:20.lvx .be. It's easy. And I'm going to ride with
- 1:00:26another George Foreman quote here. Boxing is
- 1:00:28like jazz. The better it is, the less people
- 1:00:31appreciate it. Nice. Confound. God damn it, George.
- 1:00:36Always with the good shit. I know. That's going
- 1:00:40to do it for this edition. And if you want to
- 1:00:42hear about a whole bunch of Japanese boxing.
- 1:00:45Boxing before dark. Because I have three cards
- 1:00:48that we're going to go through. And they were
- 1:00:50all exciting. Oh, shit. Was I right? Yeah. That's
- 1:00:58it for this edition of the Boxing B -Sides. We'll
- 1:01:01catch you next time. Bye. Later. Welcome to the
- 1:01:17fucking show. All right, just a quick blurb,
- 1:01:19just so you can get back to what you were doing.
- 1:01:22Why would a boxing fan, let's assume they're
- 1:01:28like a purist or some shit. Why would they want
- 1:01:31to watch MMA? Why would they want to listen to
- 1:01:35an MMA show? I'm going to come at this from sort
- 1:01:38of like a primal level. So I will admit there
- 1:01:41are some very unique and stark differences between
- 1:01:46MMA and boxing. And it seems like one of the
- 1:01:49main things that keeps boxing fans away from
- 1:01:53MMA is the grappling aspect. And yet sometimes
- 1:01:56it can be a lay and pray. uh type of fight and
- 1:02:00it can get old but man like it's just instinctual
- 1:02:06man some of these people the way they find an
- 1:02:08mma is just brutal and i feel like that's what
- 1:02:12it comes down to when it comes to being a combat
- 1:02:13fan a combat sports fan um i mean we saw it just
- 1:02:18recently uh mauricio uh roofie versus uh bobby
- 1:02:23green a spinning back fit or spinning uh a wheel
- 1:02:27wheel uh wheel kick Man, it's I mean, they went
- 1:02:30viral and it's something that everyone can appreciate,
- 1:02:33even boxing fans. I know if you have a few friends
- 1:02:36that are boxing fans who I sent him that clip.
- 1:02:40I mean, and they they were amazed and that, you
- 1:02:44know, they won't even tell me that they wish
- 1:02:45they would have seen it live because seeing seeing
- 1:02:48that that type of stuff live just elicits like
- 1:02:52a euphoric feeling that, you know, you can't
- 1:02:55get. I mean, it happens in boxing, too. Whenever
- 1:02:57you see like an amazing fight. But I just got
- 1:03:00to say, like in MMA, you get those type of fights
- 1:03:04as well, just in a different type. It's different,
- 1:03:08but sort of the same. It's sort of weird how
- 1:03:11I describe it, but it's different, but the same.
- 1:03:13It comes down to that same like carnal or primal
- 1:03:16instinct of just like fights. Yeah, I always
- 1:03:21think like the biggest. The easiest transition
- 1:03:24that I always recommend, I say this all the time
- 1:03:27on Ultimate fucking Casuals, is if you're not
- 1:03:31too keen on the grappling, Muay Thai and kickboxing
- 1:03:36are exactly where you want to start. Like, you
- 1:03:40start working on the kicks, the elbows, the knees,
- 1:03:42all that stuff, and you can come to learn to
- 1:03:47appreciate grappling. I never thought I would,
- 1:03:50and here I am. Yeah. Like I said, some of it
- 1:03:54is very boring, some of the grappling. It depends
- 1:03:56on the fighters, but sometimes, man, there's
- 1:03:58boring boxing fights all the time. Yeah, you're
- 1:04:02right. But man, some of these grapplers, man,
- 1:04:06these scrambles that they do, it is pretty crazy
- 1:04:09just to see it. Rolling around the floor, you
- 1:04:13can see the stuff that they're doing in between
- 1:04:15the scrambles. It's sort of crazy. Flipping someone
- 1:04:17over, the trips, I mean, it's... It can be fun,
- 1:04:21but yeah, you're right. The easiest transition
- 1:04:22is definitely start out with Muay Thai, kickboxing,
- 1:04:25and, you know, slowly work your way into MMA.
- 1:04:28And, you know, this is the thing about the ultimate
- 1:04:32fucking casuals. We will let you know which fights
- 1:04:35are going to be good. Which ones, you know, if
- 1:04:38you're not too in tune with the grappling, we
- 1:04:40can get maybe a little tag or a little asterisk
- 1:04:44on certain fights saying, like, this is a boxing
- 1:04:48purist type of fight. you can watch this and
- 1:04:51enjoy this like we'll let you know yeah we always
- 1:04:55try um like i came into this the whole show was
- 1:04:58started with me i didn't know shit about mma
- 1:05:01i'd never really seen an mma fight in its entirety
- 1:05:04in my entire life and i came into this with nothing
- 1:05:08and yeah that's where we're at now is like we're
- 1:05:10talking like i make sure i go out of my way to
- 1:05:14bring up muay thai And bring up kickboxing so
- 1:05:17that people know. For boxing fans to know, this
- 1:05:21is where you can start. All right. Well, that
- 1:05:26was about it. I really appreciate your time.
- 1:05:29Thanks, Isaac, for jumping on real quick. Thanks
- 1:05:33for having me on. All right. Thank you.
