- 0:13conversations.
- 0:20Alright. Welcome back to JeoPARTY.
- 0:23JeoPARTY. Right? That's what we're calling it. This is episode 2.
- 0:27If you haven't listened to our first one, again, this is just an opportunity for
- 0:31you to get to know us a little bit better as hosts because I'm kinda
- 0:35jumping on as a secondary host with more of these episodes
- 0:38of Journey with Care, and it's a good opportunity for you to get to know
- 0:41us a little bit better. And, again, we want to introduce
- 0:45you to our Sojourners discussion group on our website, journey with care
- 0:48dotca. There, you can get to know us a little bit better as well or
- 0:52other listeners. You can ask questions about CareImpact, about
- 0:56us, about the podcast, anything that you your
- 1:00heart desires to know, or you can just chat amongst yourselves
- 1:03on the Sojourner's group. Alright. We are in part 2, Wendi,
- 1:07of Jeopardy. Mhmm. And, last week, we did fun and
- 1:11whimsy, faith and purpose, would you rather, and learning
- 1:15as our categories. This week, we are doing another
- 1:18would you rather, life reflections, character,
- 1:23Community, and Connection. Would you say you learned anything about me
- 1:26last week? Do you feel like you know me a little bit better? Yeah. See,
- 1:30I never knew you were that into Indiana Jones. It it makes me
- 1:34interested to when we go on our next, road trip as a team,
- 1:37to the conference, if you're gonna have to you're the driver. So
- 1:41I'm wondering if you're gonna take us on any adventures if, Indiana Jones has
- 1:45taught you a little thing. Are you wanting to live out some of those
- 1:49fantasies, Indiana Jones fantasies, on our road trip?
- 1:52We'll be playing, the soundtrack for the full 13 hours
- 1:56down. Oh, goodness. I'll have my
- 2:00fedora on because I do have a fedora. Okay.
- 2:04I no longer have a whip. Just don't bring a whip along. Yeah.
- 2:08The border crossing, that that could be problematic for sure.
- 2:11Yeah. But I do have a bunch of bobbleheads on my shelf. I might put
- 2:15one of those on the dashboard for the trip. Well,
- 2:19I think that would be fun. Anybody that has, been with
- 2:22Johan, we all know this and give a shout out
- 2:26if if you know this about Johan. He's a lot more fun
- 2:29after 10 PM, when we have meetings and
- 2:33planning sessions or when we've done, group,
- 2:37retreats and stuff. He gets kinda crazy then. So I really should
- 2:40be interviewing you after 10 PM, because we know the 10
- 2:44PM Johan comes out. So did you learn anything about me,
- 2:48Johan, from our last episode?
- 2:52After editing you for so many episodes, I think I I knew
- 2:55all that stuff because you don't know listeners don't know the stuff I've
- 2:59had to cut out, some of this inside information. I
- 3:03I I probably could've I probably could've answered a lot of these for
- 3:06you. Didn't even need you Johan. But, yeah, I probably learned a few things about
- 3:10that. So true. Yeah. Yeah. I just hope you're not doing AI and just,
- 3:14putting my voice into answers that you've created. You'll
- 3:18never know. You'll never know. Alright. Let's get on with
- 3:22Jeopardy 2. Jeopardy. Alright.
- 3:26Alright, Wendi. You're gonna start this one off for us. Pick your category
- 3:30and pick your Okay. I'm gonna go light to to get us
- 3:34started. I think it's gonna be light. We'll see. I'm gonna do a
- 3:37would you rather for 100, please.
- 3:41What's one quality you admire most in a friend?
- 3:47I have some good Wendi, and if I look at their best
- 3:51qualities, maybe it's an overused,
- 3:54simplified word, but I would say authenticity. A a good friend will
- 3:58actually tell me what they think and not what they think I want to hear,
- 4:01And so we can have some good discussions. Always loving, but, they're
- 4:05really authentic, and we can go deep and,
- 4:09never have to pretend around each other. Your turn.
- 4:13Alright. Life reflections for 200.
- 4:16What's one thing you wish you had known when you were younger?
- 4:21That you get older. You didn't know that? I think
- 4:25young people think they know that, but I don't think they really believe
- 4:28that. That's true. You're right.
- 4:32We're kind of invincible when we're younger. Right? We think we are. Like, have
- 4:36you hit midlife crisis yet? Do you feel like you're there? Like, are
- 4:39you on top of the hill, creeping close to the top of the hill?
- 4:43Where where would you find yourself on the hill in the analogy of life?
- 4:48I've been riding that hill for 20 years.
- 4:52It's a big plateau on top. Well, you're
- 4:56younger than me, but I would say probably I'm not gonna
- 5:00measure our maturity levels, but I I'd say we're pretty on
- 5:03par. I I probably peaked, so I'm probably on my way down. But
- 5:07so my physiotherapist would say My turn? Yep. Okay.
- 5:12Alright. I'm gonna go with life reflections for 100. What
- 5:16is one thing you're pretty good at that you wish you can teach others?
- 5:22Well, not to brag, but I do awkward pretty well.
- 5:27It's a redeeming quality since since childhood that I
- 5:30could embrace my awkwardness. And I think what I
- 5:34it actually in all seriousness, it's allowed me
- 5:37to bring diverse people around the table, whether that's
- 5:41government leaders from high, high up or or
- 5:44frustrated frontline social workers to
- 5:48people of different cultures, different denominations, different religions,
- 5:53male and female. I love a diverse crowd, and I
- 5:57love to bring people together and create some
- 6:00commonality, build bridges, amongst
- 6:04diversity in ways that is meaningful and authentic, that
- 6:07doesn't force people to be different than who they are, that
- 6:11they could bring their authentic self. I I love creating that
- 6:14space, and I would that's what I wanna teach across Canada. That's
- 6:18what I wanna see the church be doing in these, these spaces
- 6:22across all the cities across Canada. I wanna see us embracing diversity
- 6:26and, being people of peace. Alright.
- 6:30We're gonna change it up for the next one. You're gonna pick my category and
- 6:33number. Oh, okay. I'm gonna see if you have
- 6:36any character. So I'm gonna do character for 400. If you
- 6:40had to choose 1 Bible character that most resonates with you,
- 6:44who would that be and why? My automatic
- 6:48answer for the past 20 years
- 6:51actually, for the past 37 years,
- 6:5538 years. I'm only 41, almost 42.
- 7:00Yeah. So since you were in preschool. Probably would have been
- 7:03David. I used to sing songs about David when I was 3 years old recording
- 7:07myself on a little tykes recorder. But, I
- 7:11mean, in recent years that? Yeah. My parents have it, I
- 7:15think, somewhere. But Can you insert it into this podcast?
- 7:19Inquiring ears want to hear. That might have to be
- 7:23a Sojourner's group thing that we put on there if people
- 7:27wanna get that. There's your bonus for you. I do.
- 7:33But in recent years, like, even studying the life of David,
- 7:37he didn't do so many good things too. Like he, he lived
- 7:41a pretty he did a lot of bad things. Like, I
- 7:44don't I don't wanna associate with those those types of things, but the
- 7:48worship side of things, the songwriting, obviously, not everything
- 7:51in David's journey in life is is admirable,
- 7:55but that's the same with all of us, I suppose. So, Johan, why don't
- 7:59you choose a category for me? We will do would you rather
- 8:02for 400, and I'm gonna Alright. What do you
- 8:06got for me? Would you rather live in a secluded monastery
- 8:10or travel the world learning from different religious communities? I think I
- 8:14know the answer to this one, but Oh, I as much as I like being
- 8:18by myself, which I've alluded to in the first episode,
- 8:22if I wanted to retreat, I would definitely travel the world
- 8:25learning for different religious communities because that was my background,
- 8:29before settling in here in Winnipeg. But
- 8:33even still, I'm very intrigued, and I love traveling and learning from the
- 8:36religious communities even here in my own city. So,
- 8:40yeah, that's an easy one. Yeah. That's what I figured you'd
- 8:44say. Let's do community and
- 8:48connection for 300. Okay.
- 8:53Can you share a tradition or ritual that's important to you and your
- 8:56loved ones? I would say
- 9:00eating dinner together as much as possible every
- 9:03night at the table. We don't have devices on.
- 9:07We don't eat at different places unless one of our kids
- 9:11has an event and they need to eat early or something or my son's working,
- 9:15but we try as best as we can to eat dinner
- 9:18together every evening. So So I'm curious
- 9:22to add on to that. What's the vibe around your table? Is it, like,
- 9:25laughing and joking around? Is it, like, serious conversations?
- 9:29Is it, like, how is your day type of thing? Permanent
- 9:33proper or loud and and clowny?
- 9:37What is it? It's called forced joy.
- 9:42We don't always we don't always come to the table
- 9:46with happy vibes.
- 9:49Things are going awesome. So actually, when any of us
- 9:53are feeling down or just
- 9:57not in a great headspace, we will join hands and
- 10:00we will all lift up our hands to the sky and
- 10:04pray. And that's how we get forced joy. It's like,
- 10:08Lord, give us joy today. It's kind of a weird thing that we do,
- 10:11but when we're Wendi we're grouchy, we just are like, oh,
- 10:15you're you're looking down. Like, let's join hands and lift them up to the sky.
- 10:19Because it it causes things to become lighter all of a sudden. So
- 10:23not that we don't have deep discussions ever. So anyway
- 10:27Alright. I'm gonna choose community and connections for
- 10:31400. How do you handle
- 10:34conflicts or disagreements within your relationships?
- 10:39Oh, that's a doozy. As an Enneagram 8, I I
- 10:42do, not back down from a good challenge. I
- 10:46choose my battles because some things are just not worth fighting for. They're just petty
- 10:50and whatever. You can have it. But if it's something that I'm
- 10:53passionate about, I actually like
- 10:57having the discussion and
- 11:01even being challenged, in my assumptions or my
- 11:05thinking. I do like it, but how do I handle it?
- 11:09If my family were to answer this question, they would probably
- 11:12say, mom leans in or my wife
- 11:16leans in, and we would rather lean out,
- 11:20because I'm a challenger. Okay. So so let
- 11:24me qualify that, though, because for me, in disagreements, if
- 11:27we don't see eye to eye and it's not even about who's right, who's wrong,
- 11:31there's usually it it's more of a communication issue.
- 11:35To me, leaning in isn't about being in a fight
- 11:38position. It's actually, I wanna get to know you better. I want to
- 11:42work through this. It matters enough to work through it rather than
- 11:46retreat and put it under the the carpet. So I'm not one of those people
- 11:49that likes to leave things kinda lingering where the air is
- 11:53thickened and there's a disagreement. I'd rather have it out there. I'd rather be
- 11:56told exactly what people think than to wonder and have
- 12:00to, like, tiptoe around somebody. So I'd rather
- 12:04have just the open, honest conversation, and I hope that I can
- 12:08create that safety for others so that they can have it. One of the
- 12:11great qualities in in you as as you lead
- 12:15CareImpact for sure. Yeah. Because we have a lot of
- 12:18challenging topics that we we navigate in society and in
- 12:22our churches, and how do we work together. We need to be able to
- 12:26embrace some challenging things. Alright. Wendi, you wanna pick
- 12:29my next one? Yeah. Sure. Why not? I'm gonna do a would you
- 12:33rather for 300. Okay.
- 12:37So this is a good one. Would you rather watch a chick flick with your
- 12:40wife or an adventure thriller with your guy friends?
- 12:44So that could be Wendi Indiana Jones. Definitely an adventure
- 12:48thriller with my guy friends. My wife doesn't even
- 12:52like me watching chick flicks with her because she'd rather watch it.
- 12:55Oh. The ladies that she knows would enjoy it. And she would tell you the
- 12:59same thing. Yeah. So what kind of movie do you like to watch with your
- 13:02wife? If you have a date night and you could go to
- 13:06any movie, what type of movie would you both enjoy?
- 13:10We love movies based on real stories, real
- 13:14events. And so that's what we usually opt for. Things like that.
- 13:18Nothing nothing usually romantic. It's sometimes we'll
- 13:22go to adventure movies as well. Stuff like that. She likes that as well. So
- 13:25you have to love an adventure if you've married me. So Yeah. Because you
- 13:29are AKA Indiana Jones. Exactly.
- 13:32Yep. Okay. So choose one for me now.
- 13:36Let's do character for 200.
- 13:40Okay. What is one character deficiency
- 13:45that most gets under your skin?
- 13:48Oh. So I'm gonna go with inauthenticity
- 13:52because I really love it when people bring their
- 13:56whole self to the table. In the church, at
- 14:02staff meetings, at the table around with my family,
- 14:06I don't like the drama where people are playing games or pretending.
- 14:11What I don't like in in certain dynamics is
- 14:14when there's, like, a big elephant in the sanctuary or big elephant in the room
- 14:18or in society and nobody's talking about it, and it's the most
- 14:22obvious thing. And there's ways to do it so that it's not like
- 14:25bull in a China shop that is destructive, but it's just like if
- 14:29it's there, can we at least talk about it?
- 14:33I think that's one of CareImpact's goals is to expose those elephants
- 14:37and talk about them. And to chomp on them lovingly
- 14:41and say, here, here, elephant. Let's step out of the sanctuary.
- 14:46There's other places you can roam. I've ridden an elephant before.
- 14:50Have you? Cool. I want to. Okay.
- 14:53You're up. Johan? I will do would would you rather?
- 14:57You can pick the number. Okay. Let's go hard. I don't know what's here, but
- 15:01okay. So would you rather meet a historical
- 15:05religious figure or witness a miraculous event firsthand?
- 15:11I would probably rather meet a historical religious figure.
- 15:14Oh, really? I think so. Okay.
- 15:18But, like, I'd I'd love to meet Paul. I'd love to have a good
- 15:22conversation with him. See, I would I would have probably,
- 15:26said I wanna continue to see miracles happen because
- 15:30I can see Paul in heaven. Like, eventually, we'll we'll meet up.
- 15:34Right? But There might be a lineup. Yeah. That's
- 15:38true. You might cut to the the chase. Get the VIP
- 15:41pass. Yeah. I'll give it to you. Alright. I'm gonna choose
- 15:45life reflections for 400, please. Describe
- 15:48a life changing moment that shaped who you are
- 15:52today. I think
- 15:56that the most shaping things have been when I have
- 16:00been displaced purposely and selectively,
- 16:03and I had the privilege I acknowledge I had the privilege to do so to
- 16:07choose. Many people don't when they come here as refugees or
- 16:11or under circumstances that they did not choose. But,
- 16:14fortunately, I've been able to choose to do education,
- 16:19overseas in Costa Rica and Bolivia and Middle East, and
- 16:22and those probably have been quite life changing
- 16:26for me, actually, in in high school too. I had a bit of a travel
- 16:29bug here, and, I was an exchange student in Europe. And
- 16:33all of those have been defining moments for me in my
- 16:37faith where I just didn't lean on my own church community and
- 16:41my friends and my family to support who I was. You bring your
- 16:44old baggage with you wherever you go. And so so those those
- 16:48suitcases of bad habits or, critical thinking or
- 16:52or things that need to be weeded out or gifts and abilities you didn't even
- 16:56think you had and you're you're forced to to
- 17:00lean heavily on God. And and those are really deep
- 17:03moments and spiritual encounters for me that continue
- 17:07to resonate and and shape who I am and how I think today.
- 17:11Alright. Let's do a would you rather.
- 17:16Let's go with the first one then. Okay. So here here's one for you,
- 17:19Johan. Would you rather drink church coffee, and
- 17:23we know what that's like, or warm flat pop?
- 17:28Fortunately, our church coffee isn't terrible. No. But I
- 17:31mean, like, the church coffee. Like, our church has good coffee too, but,
- 17:35like, the classic watered down Folgers.
- 17:40Let's go with that. Yeah. Made in a big percolator
- 17:44that at 8 o'clock in the morning, and it's 11.
- 17:47Because coffee is my favorite drink, I find it offensive to have
- 17:51bad coffee. So I need to go with flat warm pop.
- 17:55Mhmm. Preferably Coke 0 type
- 17:59nonsugary pop because I don't drink too many sugary pops. So
- 18:03Okay. Yeah. I think I'd have to join you for that too.
- 18:06Mhmm. Yep. Good answer. Good answer. Okay. I'm gonna go
- 18:10with, community and connection for 200.
- 18:14Here's a nice light and fluffy one. Describe your ideal way
- 18:18to spend time with friends or family. Oh, I
- 18:22love this question. I love having people
- 18:26around my table. Our 11 foot table gets filled regularly
- 18:29and just with good food and company around the
- 18:33table and then go back to the patio in the summertime anyway or
- 18:37spring and have a a fire pit going and, just
- 18:40hanging out together. It doesn't even have to be that,
- 18:45entertaining per se. We don't have to have a movie going on anywhere,
- 18:49but I think just rich conversations of laughter and and
- 18:53depth of conversations where we can all be authentic. If
- 18:56Harold would be there, my husband would be part of the this he might bring
- 18:59out the karaoke. It's not my jam, but, karaoke does
- 19:03bring out the life of a party too. So, we might throw in some
- 19:07karaoke as well. And you got a great fire
- 19:10pit patio. We should do another podcast meetup, and we can
- 19:14join you in your happy place there. Should, and people are welcome to come
- 19:18over. We love having people over, and I built that fire pit
- 19:22myself with my own bare hands. That was my holiday project last year.
- 19:25And, yeah, we'll definitely have to do that again. We did that last year, and
- 19:29it was a lot of fun. We talked about the Enneagram around the the fire
- 19:32and had some good food and some good laughs. It was Ice cream
- 19:35party? Yeah. We had an ice cream party. That's right. You remembered.
- 19:39Alright. And what about you? Can I ask you the the last
- 19:43one, community in connection for 500? Sure.
- 19:46Okay. So this is a a little depth. You created it actually, so I'm
- 19:50gonna throw it right back at you. How do you prioritize
- 19:53relationships in your life? I think this is a a good question.
- 19:58It's hard because you're connected to so many people, and you
- 20:02wanna make time for everybody, but it's impossible. Right? Yeah.
- 20:06So I probably have to answer that in terms of those
- 20:09closest to me, my my close family
- 20:14in my under my household, just making sure
- 20:17that checking in with them, asking them questions.
- 20:21And and some good attachment trivia there is the reality is
- 20:25we we need to have quality attachment. A
- 20:28fraction, 20, 30 percent of the time with an individual
- 20:32is more important than quantity of time where we spend a lot of time and
- 20:36aren't intentional with that person. I know I remind myself of that if I
- 20:40have mommy guilt, for not being able to be everywhere at the
- 20:43same time. I I can't be omnipresent, and and yet if I
- 20:47can focus in on having quality time with family and Wendi,
- 20:51when I'm there being fully present is is a valuable thing to
- 20:55to hold on to. Okay. I'm gonna pick here as Wendi. We
- 20:58need more done in life reflections and character. So
- 21:02I think you can use some more character.
- 21:06Thanks a lot. I I would definitely go
- 21:10for more character too. Character for
- 21:13500. Alright. Let's have it. Which character trait are you
- 21:17most aspiring to develop in your life?
- 21:21Well, I think there's many things that I
- 21:24wanna continue to grow and nurture. I would say I have a growth mindset where
- 21:28I'm always where I'm reading and pursuing
- 21:32greater character would be an aspiration for me. But if I had to choose
- 21:35one character trait, what you're asking, I would
- 21:39say I wanna become more loving and grow
- 21:43in love. 1, it's a never ending pursuit, so
- 21:47we can always become more loving. In in first
- 21:50Corinthians 13, it talks about if I speak in tongues of men and of angels
- 21:54and I have not love, I'm only a resounding gong and
- 21:58clanging cymbal, and I don't wanna be that. Hopefully, not on the podcast
- 22:01either. I wanna be truly loving. And if I have the gift of prophecy and
- 22:05can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and I I wanna pursue
- 22:08knowledge and and the mysteries of God, and if I have
- 22:12faith that can move mountains, faith that can build
- 22:16CareImpact, to impact our our nation, but I do not have love,
- 22:19I am nothing, and I want my life to count. So I would have to
- 22:23say my answer is love. I want to do all things
- 22:27with greater and greater love that comes from the father's heart.
- 22:32Good answer. You think we got time for a few more?
- 22:36Yeah. I I definitely wanna grill you a little bit more.
- 22:39I I'm thinking, I wanna finish off the the would you
- 22:43rather. There's a question here that I I'm interested because it actually
- 22:47has real life implications, and I wanna see your answer on this. Are you
- 22:51ready for it? I made this one just for you, Johan. Would
- 22:55you rather for 200? Alright. Would you rather sit in a
- 22:59long meeting with your CareImpact colleagues
- 23:03or a long car ride with them? You know we do
- 23:06both. Yeah. I would rather do the car ride, to be honest.
- 23:10Would you? Okay. It's It's good you're not dreading it. I would.
- 23:14Because our meetings are generally online, right, over
- 23:18Zoom, and I just don't enjoy Zoom very much. I'd
- 23:22rather have a good conversation with someone sitting beside me. So
- 23:25definitely take the long car ride in. I love long car rides. So That's good
- 23:29because you're gonna be doing a lot of the driving. A whole bunch of us
- 23:32from our CareImpact team are driving down to, Kansas
- 23:36City for a conference that we're a part of,
- 23:39and, it's gonna be fun. Maybe we'll record an
- 23:43episode on the road. That That could be interesting. That is on our schedule, so
- 23:46they don't know it yet. So we're gonna put the mic onto them, and we're
- 23:50gonna get some good conversations on the the car ride, hopefully.
- 23:54Surprise. Let's go with life reflections for 300,
- 23:57please. What will you have written on your epitaph
- 24:01after you've passed away that you want people to remember?
- 24:05Oh, yeah. And that had like, like,
- 24:09you know, you go to funerals sometimes, and it's like, are we talking with the
- 24:12same person and and everybody's a saint? And I'm I wouldn't want people to think
- 24:16I'm a saint because I as you know, I'm not. But what would
- 24:20ring true? I'm gonna try a little bit of a rhyme here because it's gonna
- 24:23be corny. So please don't relisten to this after I'm
- 24:27dead and put this onto my stone because this is not thinking
- 24:31it through. How about this? Here lies Wendi
- 24:34Park. She had the spark and left
- 24:38her mark. Does that work? Would it fit?
- 24:41Sounds a little rehearsed to me. Think about it. Did you just come up with
- 24:45that on the spot, Wendi? I did. I did. I I could put
- 24:49it into a wrap, but I'm white, so that wouldn't come up very well. We
- 24:52can run with that. Indeed. That's fine. The girl who loved Shmonfat.
- 24:57But she also killed her. That's probably
- 25:01true. We need to know the cause of death to give me a theme here.
- 25:05So in all seriousness, I don't know how I would word this, so I'm gonna
- 25:08stay away from poetry. That's not my lane. I I I get it. I hear
- 25:11you. I wanna be known for that person
- 25:15who was the one
- 25:19who wasn't afraid to try, the one who had vision and
- 25:22faith to move forward and try new things and to challenge us
- 25:26to be better as a church. And, I hope
- 25:30I've done a good job of disrupting in a healthy way, and
- 25:35I'd love that on my epitaph. Alright. Sounds
- 25:39good. That's a very serious ending, though. Am I supposed to take the
- 25:42last question? We can do one more question. I also have rapid fire for
- 25:46you, so I'm gonna put you on the hot seat. But before we get into
- 25:49that, do you need more character, Johan? That's all we have left
- 25:53is character. Okay. We're lacking character. Okay. Here, Johan.
- 25:58Character for 300. What life experiences impacted you
- 26:01and developed character within you? I would
- 26:05say marriage. Marriage is Yes. Hard
- 26:08work, but Amen. It's it's so good. I think
- 26:12it's such a gift from the Lord to develop character within
- 26:16you. It will pinpoint all the weaknesses and the
- 26:19strengths, and you're exposed all the time.
- 26:23So thank God for marriage, but, yeah, that's
- 26:28it's definitely developed character. 21 years for you this
- 26:31year? It'll be 22 in May. So
- 26:35Oh my goodness. Yep. You guys got married when you were, like, 15 then or
- 26:38something. Something like that. Yeah. Me and Harold are
- 26:42old compared to you, and we're going on 19 this
- 26:46year. So yeah. How old were you when you got
- 26:49married? I was a week 20. Oh. Yeah.
- 26:53Little babies. That's so cute. But my wife is older than me,
- 26:57so a year and a half. Okay. See, I married up.
- 27:01Harold is 10 years older than me. Okay. Enough about
- 27:05me. I wanna do rapid fire with you, Johan. Are you ready?
- 27:09Are you is your seat hot enough, or do we need to crank up the
- 27:12heat in there? My head's in a fog, which could make this interesting. Oh, yes.
- 27:16But it's not 10 o'clock. It's not 10 PM, so this might not be
- 27:20as interesting as then. Okay. So I've got a few questions here, and
- 27:24just give me the first thing that pops in your brain. Okay. What's
- 27:27your favorite book of all time other than the Bible? Bible is a
- 27:31good answer. Treasury of Prayer by
- 27:35E. M. Bounds. It's a book my grandfather always
- 27:38had on hand, and I inherited that. So
- 27:42it's precious. I'll have to look it up. I haven't heard of that one.
- 27:46If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?
- 27:51Well, I talked about this before. I'd say Paul. Oh, lots of
- 27:55questions for Paul. Yeah. Okay. That sounds good. Yeah. He would
- 27:59I would like to sit down with Paul too. Would have a good debate, I'm
- 28:02sure. Okay. What's your go to karaoke
- 28:06song? We're out in our backyard having campfire,
- 28:09and Harold brings out the karaoke machine. What song would you go to?
- 28:14Haven't done much karaoke other than at your place that
- 28:18one time. And that was Christmas songs, which I don't really like. So you
- 28:22could do like, what's your favorite song that you could sing along to?
- 28:26I don't have a favorite song. Oh, come on. Do you have, like, an
- 28:308 are you an eighties, nineties? I'll just I would pull
- 28:33out some old YouTube. It would be like with or without you YouTube sort of
- 28:37thing. Okay. YouTube? Yep. Yeah. I'll take that.
- 28:41Dogs or cats? Dogs. Good answer.
- 28:45Do you have a dog? We did have, but we don't like dogs.
- 28:50So you really hate cats is what you're saying? We don't like pets.
- 28:54I like other people's cats. They're God's creation. Okay. So you like
- 28:58my cats? Yep. Okay. If you could
- 29:01travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
- 29:06I would love to see Greece. We got a good friend that has a
- 29:10place there. So Wendi of a CareImpact, I mean. So Yes.
- 29:13Yeah. He always goes there every summer. I know. That's that's why I wanna go
- 29:17too because he sells it. So I know you love coffee, so I'm not gonna
- 29:20ask you the coffee or tea question. But what's your favorite coffee bean to
- 29:24date that you enjoy? K. This is interesting.
- 29:28I've tried I've tried the most expensive coffee bean in the
- 29:31world at the time. It's it isn't anymore. I don't know if
- 29:35you've heard of cat poo coffee. Oh, I've heard of elephant poo coffee.
- 29:38No. This one was in cat poop. Yeah. Elephant poo is actually a
- 29:42lot. That's more expensive now. That one's more
- 29:46expensive. But at the time, it was cat poop coffee. It actually
- 29:49wasn't my favorite, though. It was okay. Okay. So what is your favorite coffee
- 29:53bean? I've I've roasted my own beans, so I really enjoy that. But
- 29:57I would say, definitely, Kona Hawaiian coffee
- 30:00beans are delicious. They're amazing. Okay. Kona coffee.
- 30:04Sounds good. Okay. So what's the last movie that
- 30:08made you cry? I'm not really a crier.
- 30:12Me neither. This would be a hard one. I don't think I've cried at
- 30:16a movie. Ever? So I can't really answer that. I'm
- 30:20gonna get Corey to your wife to cut onions while you're
- 30:23watching a movie then next time. You know what? Here's my answer.
- 30:27It's probably Lord of the Rings because it's it was so
- 30:31long that I've had to pee and that
- 30:35feeling of having to pee made me cry. It's like, oh, I don't
- 30:39wanna leave because this is a great movie. But What about
- 30:42have you watched the chosen? The the have you been following along in the chosen
- 30:46series? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. And none
- 30:50of that brought kind of an emotion to your tear
- 30:53ducts, like, a little mist? Oh, I would say probably for
- 30:57sure because, like, you just Wendi you learn
- 31:01aspects of Jesus' character, like, even though it's you know a lot of
- 31:05it's fictional, but the heart behind it, like, you see it in a
- 31:08different light kinda makes Jesus a real person and Yeah. I don't know.
- 31:12There's definitely some good feelings there. Yeah. Okay. Well,
- 31:16that'll do. What about are you an early bird or night
- 31:20owl? I am an early bird, I would
- 31:23say. Okay. Yep. I was never able to stay up
- 31:26late. Except for 10 PM, Johan. 10 o'clock, Yohan.
- 31:30Yeah. What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
- 31:34Join CareImpact. Ah, good answer.
- 31:39Why is that adventurous? Little bit of an unknown. Just
- 31:42jumping right in. I don't know if it's the most adventurous. It's the first thing
- 31:45that popped into my head, which was what I'm supposed to do. Right? So What
- 31:48is the last song that you've listened to? Check my
- 31:52phone. The Prodigal Song by Corey Asbury.
- 31:56Okay. What's your favorite childhood memory?
- 32:00Probably when my dad was a paramedic, he brought an ambulance
- 32:03for show and tell for me. That was a great memory.
- 32:07Yeah. Yeah. That is a great memory. Up to this side of the school with
- 32:10the sirens blazing and bringing in able to bring my
- 32:14friends in inside the ambulance and, yeah, it was a good dad
- 32:18moment. Oh, yeah. Good break breaking rights. Having a
- 32:21dad with a as a paramedic. Yeah. If you could have a
- 32:25superpower, what would it be? Fundraising?
- 32:30I Wendi in on that too. Yeah. And what is your favorite
- 32:34season? Summer. What's your biggest pet
- 32:37peeve? Lack of communication,
- 32:41Poor communication skills and being late.
- 32:44Oh, yeah. What's the best piece of advice that you can think
- 32:48of that you've ever received? I can't think of the
- 32:52best, but the first thing that comes to mind, which we kinda live
- 32:55by in marriage and family, is don't go to bed angry.
- 33:00Mhmm. Good. If you could have any talent
- 33:03in the world, what would it be? Besides fundraising?
- 33:09I would like to learn the banjo, actually. Okay.
- 33:13Yeah. You can have a banjo. Johan is a banjo. Okay.
- 33:16You are from Saskatchewan? How did that not come up in our
- 33:20question and answers? Well, there you go. Yeah. We threw in a bonus there,
- 33:24guys. Okay. Last question. What's the first thing you
- 33:27do in the morning? Wake up. Go
- 33:31on. Shower and coffee. That's it. Okay.
- 33:35Alright. That was the last of our rapid fire. So we got
- 33:39one more episode coming up. One more where you can get to know us, us,
- 33:42ask us anything about CareImpact, us as individuals,

- 34:19gonna have that one on the road on our road trips, so that'll be interesting
- 34:22as well. So Yes. Anything to add, Wendi? Well, this has
- 34:26been a lot of fun, getting to know you a little bit better, Johan, and
