- 0:01Speaker 1: What we saw was I think a little bit different
- 0:05Speaker 1: Donald Trump.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I think that's okay.
- 0:08Speaker 1: There have been a lot of people saying Donald Trump
- 0:10Speaker 1: looked different night one as he was standing there with
- 0:14Speaker 1: Make America Great underneath them Byron Donald's sitting to his
- 0:20Speaker 1: left if you're looking at the President, Tucker Carlson as
- 0:23Speaker 1: well sitting to his left.
- 0:25Speaker 2: To the right jd Vance.
- 0:27Speaker 1: To the right of him was the speaker Mike Johnson
- 0:31Speaker 1: at the convention. When Donald Trump made his way into
- 0:34Speaker 1: the arena, it was also a little bit different. It
- 0:39Speaker 1: was not as loud as you traditionally hear at a
- 0:44Speaker 1: Trump rally. It was a very somber but I also
- 0:48Speaker 1: think serious moment for Donald Trump. He understands, I think
- 0:55Speaker 1: better than anybody, as we saw his ear, his right
- 0:59Speaker 1: ear bandage, that he is an individual who could easily
- 1:04Speaker 1: have died. He is someone whose life could have been
- 1:07Speaker 1: taken from him because of this would be assassin and
- 1:10Speaker 1: he was shot.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I want to say, if you have.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Ever been in a shooting, you understand what I'm about
- 1:18Speaker 1: to say.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Many of you know I've been in a shooting.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I had to use a gun to save my life
- 1:23Speaker 1: and had two different people pointing a gun at me,
- 1:25Speaker 1: one put to the side of my head, and I
- 1:28Speaker 1: can tell you that you are different after that, no
- 1:33Speaker 1: matter how much you don't want to be different. And
- 1:36Speaker 1: what I mean by that is your perspective changes. There's
- 1:39Speaker 1: anger that comes in afterwards. We saw instantly Donald Trump
- 1:43Speaker 1: be angry when he put his fist up and yelled fight.
- 1:47Speaker 1: There's then this realization that you could have died. There
- 1:52Speaker 1: is then a significant change and shift to concern that
- 1:59Speaker 1: it can happen. And again, I have a massive amount
- 2:03Speaker 1: of compassion for our men and women in uniform that
- 2:06Speaker 1: have dealt with PTSD. I didn't understand it till after
- 2:10Speaker 1: my shooting, and I cannot imagine what men and women
- 2:13Speaker 1: that go through that every single day in Afghanistan, Iraq
- 2:16Speaker 1: or anywhere else around the world where they're serving, what
- 2:19Speaker 1: they dealt with after nine to eleven, for example, when
- 2:22Speaker 1: you're there for a couple of years on multiple tours
- 2:25Speaker 1: of duties and you're being shot at, and you're shooting,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and you're seeing your friends get blown up, and you're
- 2:29Speaker 1: seeing your friends get shot, and you're seeing that life
- 2:34Speaker 1: can end, not at a time in or a moment
- 2:36Speaker 1: of your choosing because of evil. Donald Trump seemed different,
- 2:43Speaker 1: and I don't think that's a bad thing. But I'm
- 2:45Speaker 1: sure Donald Trump is dealing with the fact that and
- 2:48Speaker 1: this is that they call it survivor's guilt for reason,
- 2:52Speaker 1: Why am I still alive? And why did an innocent
- 2:54Speaker 1: man who was just there to support me die? Why
- 2:57Speaker 1: are there others that are fighting and are gonna have
- 3:00Speaker 1: lifelong changes in their recovery in the hospital still who
- 3:04Speaker 1: were shot? You think about that rally, and Donald Trump
- 3:09Speaker 1: is going to be thinking about that rally. It is
- 3:10Speaker 1: going to be on his mind because he knows that
- 3:14Speaker 1: there was a kind, loving father who saved his daughter
- 3:18Speaker 1: and mother's life and it cost him his own as
- 3:20Speaker 1: he was shielding them from the bullets. And I'm sure
- 3:23Speaker 1: there's moments where he's gonna be thinking, did I have
- 3:25Speaker 1: to do that rally? Should we have done it indoors?
- 3:27Speaker 1: Should we have done it differently? Should we have changed
- 3:29Speaker 1: the way we did things? That is what any person
- 3:33Speaker 1: with a soul is going to be thinking in that moment.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And not only is the president having to deal with that,
- 3:40Speaker 1: but then there's that concern of is it going to
- 3:43Speaker 1: happen again?
- 3:45Speaker 2: I think you.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Also realize and this has got to be the hardest
- 3:48Speaker 1: part for President Trump. There is a confidence with the
- 3:52Speaker 1: Secret Service around you. I have been inside the bubble
- 3:58Speaker 1: in my career several times, many times when I was
- 4:02Speaker 1: a saraga on the Bush campaign, and I've been on
- 4:06Speaker 1: stage with the President. It's a different level of Secret
- 4:09Speaker 1: Service protection when you're sitting duck up there. But there
- 4:13Speaker 1: was a feeling of invincibility that made you just focus
- 4:18Speaker 1: on what your job was because you're like, I got
- 4:20Speaker 1: them right, Like they're around us, We're gonna be fine.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I'm not thinking about snipers. I'm not thinking about a
- 4:28Speaker 1: lone wolf. I'm not thinking about a shooter in the crowd.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And you go up on that stage and you do
- 4:34Speaker 1: your job well. I mean, you look at the president
- 4:38Speaker 1: last night at the convention, and I mean this he
- 4:43Speaker 1: is a little bit different, and that's okay. But I
- 4:46Speaker 1: wanted to paint that picture so you understand because while
- 4:49Speaker 1: all of this is going on, and when I was
- 4:52Speaker 1: involved in my shooting, I think the most frustrating part
- 4:56Speaker 1: for me afterwards was the fact that I couldn't control
- 5:03Speaker 1: my heart rate when I would be doing things like
- 5:08Speaker 1: pumping gas and a car would pull up on the
- 5:10Speaker 1: other side of that gas pump, and I couldn't see
- 5:13Speaker 1: that person. And there's that concern, is that person about
- 5:16Speaker 1: to come around the corner and pull a gun on me,
- 5:18Speaker 1: or shoot at me, or try to rob me or
- 5:21Speaker 1: carjack me. And it wasn't because paranoid. It was a
- 5:26Speaker 1: involuntary thing that would happen. And it took months and
- 5:30Speaker 1: months for that to go away until I felt quote
- 5:33Speaker 1: normal again. I the way that Donald Trump is dealing
- 5:38Speaker 1: with this publicly is unbelievable. But I also want to
- 5:42Speaker 1: make it clear we need to make sure we pray
- 5:44Speaker 1: for this man. We need to pray for him and
- 5:46Speaker 1: his recovery. One tenth of an inch that bullet moves,
- 5:50Speaker 1: he doesn't move his head, and those are the things
- 5:51Speaker 1: he's thinking about. To look at that prompter again for
- 5:54Speaker 1: the statistics, and he would not be with us. And
- 5:59Speaker 1: while you're having to deal with all that, and look,
- 6:01Speaker 1: there's also the fallout that comes after this with your family.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Everybody wants to talk about this shooting. That sees you.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Everybody's walking up to you giving you a hug, which
- 6:10Speaker 1: is sincere, and saying we're so glad you're alive. But
- 6:14Speaker 1: you keep hearing that's a different narrative. It's no longer hey,
- 6:18Speaker 1: thank you for fighting for our country. God bless America.
- 6:21Speaker 1: It's now we're so thankful you're alive. That is a
- 6:23Speaker 1: different conversation. He will have with every single person that
- 6:26Speaker 1: he comes in contact with in Milwaukee this week, and
- 6:30Speaker 1: it will be.
- 6:30Speaker 2: The same thing that has said to him for weeks.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And I would argue through election day that narrative is
- 6:36Speaker 1: not going to change. But that's a different conversation. I'm
- 6:39Speaker 1: glad you're alive. I'm glad you're okay, I'm glad you're alive.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Continues to go back to it to remind him that
- 6:45Speaker 1: someone tried to kill him. That's a lot to deal
- 6:48Speaker 1: with for any person. If there's anybody that can deal
- 6:51Speaker 1: with it, it's Donald Trump.
- 6:52Speaker 2: He clearly is.
- 6:54Speaker 1: But then I want you to think about what's happened
- 6:55Speaker 1: since then. The bubble around you and the Secret Service,
- 6:59Speaker 1: the protection that you used to have that made you
- 7:02Speaker 1: feel confident to be able to go up on that stage,
- 7:04Speaker 1: that is gone right now. I don't care what anybody says.
- 7:08Speaker 1: In the back of his day, he's like, they didn't
- 7:09Speaker 1: get the last one. They could screw it up again.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That's gonna change your demeanor a little bit. And then
- 7:16Speaker 1: you got to do everything else you're doing right now,
- 7:18Speaker 1: right Go to a convention, run a convention.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Pick a vice presidential candidate.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Jd Vance, by the way, put out an amazing simple tweet.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It said, just overwhelmed with gratitude. What an honor it
- 7:29Speaker 1: is to run alongside President Donald J.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Trump.
- 7:32Speaker 1: He delivered peace and prosperity once, and with your help,
- 7:35Speaker 1: will do it again.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Onward to victory. A very very very very very simple.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Okay, A very simple tweet there, A very important tweet.
- 7:48Speaker 1: He also tweeted out on the fourteenth, this dude is
- 7:53Speaker 1: just built different, and posted the true social post by
- 7:56Speaker 1: Donald Trump that said quote, based on yesterday's terrible event,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin the
- 8:02Speaker 1: Republican National Convention by two days, but have decided that
- 8:05Speaker 1: I cannot allow a quote shooter or a potential assassin
- 8:10Speaker 1: to force change the scheduling or anything else. Therefore, I
- 8:13Speaker 1: will be leaving for Milwaukee's schedule at three point thirty
- 8:15Speaker 1: pm today.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Thank you, Donald J. Trump.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And jd Vance wrote this dude is just built different.
- 8:21Speaker 1: He absolutely is he is built different. I want to
- 8:28Speaker 1: shift for a moment the conversation from what I just
- 8:32Speaker 1: described with Donald Trump personally, and I just still think
- 8:36Speaker 1: it's incredible what this guy's doing right now.
- 8:38Speaker 2: He's built differently.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I want to talk about Day two theme at the
- 8:43Speaker 1: Republican Convention. The Day two theme is make America Safe Again.
- 8:50Speaker 1: That means so many different things, by the way. Right now,
- 8:54Speaker 1: it means that we have to focus on the border crisis.
- 8:59Speaker 1: We got to focus on crime in this country. And
- 9:04Speaker 1: I think there's going to be a lot of praise
- 9:06Speaker 1: for Trump for his resilience after this assassination attempt. Day
- 9:13Speaker 1: two at the Convention has a different meaning than when
- 9:16Speaker 1: they announced last week what the themes of each day
- 9:19Speaker 1: were going to be. No one was thinking that it
- 9:22Speaker 1: was going to revolve or they would have to include
- 9:26Speaker 1: the possibility of an assassination as part of the make
- 9:30Speaker 1: America Safe Again theme. It was going to be about crime,
- 9:34Speaker 1: it was going to be about the border, it was
- 9:35Speaker 1: going to be about now security, and now it's about
- 9:38Speaker 1: the idea that there are people that are trying to
- 9:40Speaker 1: kill Donald Trump. The Republican National Convention is focusing Day
- 9:45Speaker 1: two with a crowded list of events and speakers touching
- 9:49Speaker 1: on a broad range with immigration and crime is going
- 9:55Speaker 1: to be featured in the most prominent way. And Democrats
- 9:58Speaker 1: will not do this that their can. I do think
- 10:01Speaker 1: this is also a moment where you compare and contrast
- 10:04Speaker 1: the two. You look, now, Trump is formerly the GOP nominee.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It's official. That happened day one. You've got his VP candidate.
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's official. JD Vance. He's there shaking hands with Tucker
- 10:20Speaker 1: Carlson Byron Donald's members of his family, Don Junior, who
- 10:23Speaker 1: looked proudly at their father, their friend who nearly lost
- 10:27Speaker 1: his life two days ago.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Like that's big.
- 10:30Speaker 1: There are other attendees that are there that I'm sure
- 10:32Speaker 1: are like, Okay, we gotta admit it. Now, this guy's
- 10:34Speaker 1: built differently. What do I mean by that? Senate Minority
- 10:37Speaker 1: Leader Mitch McConnell. He was dued when he made his appearance.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I understand why people feel like he's not done enough. McConnell,
- 10:47Speaker 1: by the way, who blamed Trump for January sixth riot
- 10:50Speaker 1: in February twenty twenty one, stating the former president was
- 10:54Speaker 1: practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that
- 10:57Speaker 1: day and you want to know why the guy got
- 11:00Speaker 1: boot McConnell booed at the convention. I am glad that
- 11:05Speaker 1: he got booed at the convention. I think it stands.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm glad he got booed because it's proof that people
- 11:12Speaker 1: love Trump and can't stand the bureaucrats that run Washington.
- 11:18Speaker 1: There is a very clear divide in our party right now.
- 11:21Speaker 1: You're either with the Mitch McConnell's of the world that
- 11:24Speaker 1: cow down to the Democrats, don't hold them accountable, allow
- 11:27Speaker 1: them to use law fair to get rid of their
- 11:30Speaker 1: candidates and have gotten us to the point where we
- 11:32Speaker 1: had this assassination attempt. Or you're on the side with
- 11:35Speaker 1: Donald Trump and hardcore conservatives that understand that there is
- 11:39Speaker 1: evil in the world. AP put it this way, hosts
- 11:43Speaker 1: of speakers will applaud the former president's strength and resilience
- 11:47Speaker 1: after the shooting at Israelly in Pennsylvania Day two, and
- 11:50Speaker 1: will remind the country that safety and security are a
- 11:53Speaker 1: major major issue. Nicki Hayley, right, we're being told is
- 12:01Speaker 1: going to be a part of this. I'm fine with that.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Let's go. I don't think she's going to get some
- 12:06Speaker 1: massive welcome. By the way, want to make that very
- 12:09Speaker 1: very clear as well.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So let's talk about last night's speeches.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Okay, this is incredible for me and jd.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Vance had a speech last night and it was a
- 12:25Speaker 2: speech that a lot of kind of criticized this morning.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Just so you know, they've criticized this speech because they
- 12:31Speaker 1: thought it wasn't a lot of energy. It was one
- 12:36Speaker 1: of those speeches that Minie said, Hey, I think this
- 12:39Speaker 1: is pretty like bland speech.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Giving a speech two days after you've.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Been gotting the phone call that you're the vice presidential
- 12:48Speaker 1: of Canada is intimidating.
- 12:50Speaker 2: And do I think it could have.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Been punched up a little bit more being in the
- 12:56Speaker 1: room last night. Yes, I think you could see that
- 12:58Speaker 1: on Donald Trump's face little bit as well.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie to you guys.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm also not a cheerleader when I see somebody out
- 13:05Speaker 1: there that I wanted him to kill it. I think
- 13:08Speaker 1: it was a six and a half seven out of ten.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Do I think it's going to hurt the ticket?
- 13:12Speaker 3: No?
- 13:12Speaker 2: Do Am I worried about him picking him now or No?
- 13:16Speaker 1: I also think he's better in debates than he is
- 13:19Speaker 1: at speeches.
- 13:20Speaker 2: So all I care about is the VP debate.
- 13:23Speaker 1: But there were also some incredible moments in his speech
- 13:26Speaker 1: which I if you miss this, I wanted you to
- 13:28Speaker 1: hear it because I love the story of Jdvans, I
- 13:32Speaker 1: love the history of Jdvans. I love the addiction aspect
- 13:37Speaker 1: of the overcoming with his mom and his grandmother raising him.
- 13:41Speaker 1: But there was one part in the speech last night
- 13:43Speaker 1: that was truly incredible, and that was this moment in.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Our movement, ladies and gentlemen, it's about grandparents all across
- 13:52Speaker 3: this country who are living on Social Security and raising
- 13:56Speaker 3: grandchildren they didn't expect to raise. And while we're on
- 13:59Speaker 3: the top of grandparents, let me tell you another mammal story.
- 14:03Speaker 3: And my mamma died shortly before I left for Iraq
- 14:05Speaker 3: in two thousand and five, and when we went through things,
- 14:08Speaker 3: we found nineteen loaded handguns.
- 14:11Speaker 2: They were.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Now the thing is, they were stashed all over her house,
- 14:32Speaker 3: under her bed, in her closet, in the silverware drawer,
- 14:37Speaker 3: and we wondered what was going on, and it occurred
- 14:41Speaker 3: to us that towards the end of her life, Mamma
- 14:43Speaker 3: couldn't get around so well.
- 14:44Speaker 2: And so this frail old woman made sure that no
- 14:47Speaker 2: matter where she was, she was with an arm's.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Lame of whatever she needed to protect her.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Family backs who we fight for. That's American scirit.
- 14:56Speaker 1: That for me was the highlight jd Vance's speech last night.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I thought it was an incredible moment.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I thought it was one that made people love him, his.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Family, his story.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It was one of those moments that I think people
- 15:15Speaker 1: will remember. And look, there's some people that may have
- 15:17Speaker 1: heard that in thought to themselves, Hey, that's ridiculous. No,
- 15:21Speaker 1: that's a grandmother who wanted to protect at all costs
- 15:29Speaker 1: her the person that she loved the most, the people
- 15:32Speaker 1: that she loved the most. There was also another really
- 15:36Speaker 1: cool point of last night, and that was JD Vance's
- 15:41Speaker 1: wife coming out on stage. She's not a political person.
- 15:45Speaker 1: She is a mother, first has a wife, and she
- 15:50Speaker 1: stepped up on the stage. This is not her thing
- 15:52Speaker 1: to be a public speaker. And I always feel bad
- 15:56Speaker 1: for people that are expected to do amazing things on
- 16:00Speaker 1: the stage when it's just not what they do.
- 16:03Speaker 2: They do, they're not trained for it.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Spouses and politics are treated like they are supposed to
- 16:09Speaker 1: be as good as their husband or their wife. And
- 16:11Speaker 1: I don't think that's fair, and there were people last
- 16:15Speaker 1: night that I hoped she didn't screw this up. I
- 16:17Speaker 1: thought that Jade Vance's wife did an amazing job introducing
- 16:22Speaker 1: her husband to the world, because there's a lot of
- 16:25Speaker 1: people that were going to watch JD for the very,
- 16:27Speaker 1: very first time.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I want you to hear her introduction.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Good evening, Good evening. When I was asked to introduce
- 16:41Speaker 4: my husband, Jadie Vance to all of you, I was
- 16:45Speaker 4: at a loss. What could I say that hasn't already
- 16:49Speaker 4: been said before? After all, the man was already the
- 16:53Speaker 4: subject of Ron Howard movie. JD has shared much of
- 17:00Speaker 4: life through his own eloquent words in his book He'll
- 17:04Speaker 4: Billy Elogy. During his Senate campaign and now as a
- 17:08Speaker 4: City United States Senator, it occurred to me that there
- 17:13Speaker 4: was only one thing to do to explain from the
- 17:17Speaker 4: heart why I love and admire JD and stand here
- 17:21Speaker 4: beside him today, and why he will make a great
- 17:25Speaker 4: Vice President of the United States. I met JD in
- 17:37Speaker 4: law school when he was fresh out of Ohio State,
- 17:40Speaker 4: which he attended with the support of the GI Bill.
- 17:43Speaker 4: We were friends first, because I mean, who wouldn't want
- 17:46Speaker 4: to be friends with JD? He was then as now,
- 17:50Speaker 4: the most interesting person I knew, a working class guy
- 17:54Speaker 4: who had overcome childhood traumas that I could barely fathom
- 17:58Speaker 4: to end up at Yale Loss School, A tough marine
- 18:02Speaker 4: who had served in Iraq, but whose idea of a
- 18:05Speaker 4: good time was playing with puppies and watching.
- 18:08Speaker 2: The movie Babe.
- 18:12Speaker 4: The most determined person I knew, with one overriding ambition
- 18:17Speaker 4: to become a husband and a father, and to build
- 18:20Speaker 4: the kind of tight knit family that he had longed
- 18:22Speaker 4: for as a child. My background is very different from Jad's.
- 18:29Speaker 4: I grew up in San Diego, in a middle class community,
- 18:38Speaker 4: with two loving parents, both immigrants from India, and a
- 18:42Speaker 4: wonderful sister that Jadie and I could meet at all,
- 18:47Speaker 4: let alone fall in love and Mary is a testament
- 18:50Speaker 4: to this great country. It is also a testament to JD,
- 19:03Speaker 4: and it tells you something about who he is. When
- 19:08Speaker 4: JD met me, he approached our differences with curiosity and enthusiasm.
- 19:14Speaker 4: He wanted to know everything about me, where I came from,
- 19:18Speaker 4: what my life had been like. Although he's a meat
- 19:22Speaker 4: and potatoes kind of guy, he adapted to my vegetarian
- 19:25Speaker 4: diet and learned to cook food from my mother Indian food.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Before I knew it, he had become an integral part
- 19:34Speaker 4: of my family, a person I could not meant could
- 19:38Speaker 4: not imagine living without. The JD I knew then is
- 19:43Speaker 4: the same JD you see.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Today, except for that Beard and.
- 19:50Speaker 4: His goals in this new role are the same that
- 19:52Speaker 4: he has pursued for our family, to keep people safe,
- 19:56Speaker 4: to create opportunities, to build a better life, and to
- 20:00Speaker 4: solve problems with an open mind. It's safe to say
- 20:05Speaker 4: that neither JD nor I expected.
- 20:07Speaker 2: To find ourselves in this position.
- 20:09Speaker 4: But it's hard to imagine a more powerful example of
- 20:12Speaker 4: the American dream. A boy from Middletown, Ohio.
- 20:29Speaker 1: You know, I got to say that I thought that
- 20:32Speaker 1: her explaining who he is and explaining what he stands
- 20:39Speaker 1: for and where he came from was one of the
- 20:43Speaker 1: most powerful moments of the night from someone that's like, look,
- 20:46Speaker 1: I married him, I love him, I want to support him,
- 20:51Speaker 1: and it was very real.
- 20:53Speaker 2: It came across very.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Authentic, I think in the hall and I think it
- 20:58Speaker 1: translated on TV. It excited me for his family and
- 21:04Speaker 1: the story of where he came from is an important one.
- 21:08Speaker 1: It's going to relate to many different people, and I
- 21:13Speaker 1: got to say that was one of my highlights I
- 21:16Speaker 1: think last night in the convention hall was listening to
- 21:19Speaker 1: her introduce her husband that she's clearly so proud of
- 21:23Speaker 1: and the father of our children so proud of.
- 21:26Speaker 2: I love it.
- 21:28Speaker 1: These are the type of stories that I think we
- 21:30Speaker 1: as conservatives need to just enjoy and be excited at
- 21:35Speaker 1: the age of JD.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Van's I mean, he's younger than I am, for goodness sakes, and.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I never get to say that, and I just I'm
- 21:42Speaker 1: rooting for them. I love the fact that he is
- 21:44Speaker 1: this type of individual with small kids.
- 21:47Speaker 2: It can relate to the family's real issues in.
- 21:50Speaker 1: America today, whether it's public education, whether it's just paying
- 21:53Speaker 1: for things with kids, what the cost of living. These
- 21:57Speaker 1: are things that he brings the ticket because of his
- 21:59Speaker 1: age and his wife and their family.
- 22:04Speaker 2: That is incredible.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Let me first start with just talking about how incredible
- 22:14Speaker 1: it was to see Donald Trump on stage and the
- 22:17Speaker 1: reception inside of that arena. I was there for what
- 22:23Speaker 1: I would refer to as a front row seat to history.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I also saw the president in a much smaller setting
- 22:30Speaker 1: right before, about an hour and a half before no
- 22:34Speaker 1: less than that thirty minutes before the convention started and
- 22:37Speaker 1: he went to his seat. And I want to first
- 22:41Speaker 1: start by saying, Donald Trump is a different person right now.
- 22:46Speaker 1: And I want to be clear, I don't mean that
- 22:48Speaker 1: in a bad way. This is something that has happened
- 22:54Speaker 1: because of the shooting and its perspective faith, a demeanor
- 23:00Speaker 1: that is very different. As I watched him speak to
- 23:05Speaker 1: this smaller group in a different tone, in a somber tone,
- 23:09Speaker 1: in a focused tone, I leaned over.
- 23:14Speaker 2: To Senator Ted Cruz. I said, he's different. This is different.
- 23:19Speaker 1: And if you watched the first twenty five minutes of
- 23:22Speaker 1: the speech that he gave, he was different. And then
- 23:26Speaker 1: he started to get a little bit of his campaign
- 23:28Speaker 1: groove back. There were people that criticize the speech last night,
- 23:32Speaker 1: y it's too long. And I said this when he
- 23:37Speaker 1: gave the speech, or afterwards when I was doing commentary
- 23:41Speaker 1: on Fox, and I said, you know, if you got
- 23:45Speaker 1: shot five days ago and survived an assassination attempt, you'd
- 23:50Speaker 1: have a lot to say too.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I think I didn't mind it all.
- 23:54Speaker 1: The link of the speech I as it was described
- 23:58Speaker 1: to me by one and I thought was a great analogy.
- 24:02Speaker 1: The first twenty five to thirty minutes. Was like church
- 24:05Speaker 1: on Easter Sunday. It's a sermon that is to the masses.
- 24:09Speaker 1: It is a sermon to people that maybe only come
- 24:12Speaker 1: to church one time a year and it's a packed house.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And then the second part of that speech, the long part,
- 24:18Speaker 1: was Sunday School with all the regular attenders. He gave
- 24:23Speaker 1: a clear message to the American people about what this
- 24:27Speaker 1: administration is going to look like, the Trump administration number one,
- 24:31Speaker 1: and why you should take a look at the agenda
- 24:36Speaker 1: that he has laid out and look at your life
- 24:38Speaker 1: and ask yourself questions about safety in this country, safety abroad,
- 24:45Speaker 1: economic issues.
- 24:47Speaker 2: These are issues that affect the American people.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Many Americans don't feel safe in their towns anymore and
- 24:53Speaker 1: the cities they live in. They don't feel like their
- 24:56Speaker 1: government has their back on those issues and their prioriti
- 25:00Speaker 1: tizing illegal immigrants and criminals ahead of them because of
- 25:03Speaker 1: radical das and a wide open southern border. You look
- 25:07Speaker 1: at economic issues, it's very clear that many Americans believe
- 25:10Speaker 1: that Bidenomics has truly hurt their family. They's destroyed their
- 25:17Speaker 1: purchasing power, it has destroyed their ability to really focus
- 25:23Speaker 1: on a future that looks brighter, and now it's a
- 25:25Speaker 1: future that just looks like it's survival that has changed.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And so there were so many people, millions of millions,
- 25:35Speaker 1: that were going to tune in, not just because they're
- 25:38Speaker 1: maybe willing to give Donald Trump another chance, but also
- 25:41Speaker 1: because they wanted to hear what he had to say
- 25:43Speaker 1: about the assassination attempt on his life and being shot.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I think Donald Trump did an amazing job because most
- 25:51Speaker 1: people don't watch the entire speech. That's just the reality
- 25:55Speaker 1: of TV viewing habits. A lot of people that tuned
- 25:59Speaker 1: in that may wouldn't have normally tuned in. They watched
- 26:02Speaker 1: ten minutes, fifteen minutes more than they would have watched normally.
- 26:06Speaker 1: They would have gotten the highlights the next day on
- 26:08Speaker 1: social media on TikTok, on Instagram, on Facebook, etc.
- 26:12Speaker 2: On x they said and listened to.
- 26:15Speaker 1: A very somber and a very different president of the
- 26:20Speaker 1: United States of America by the name of Donald Trump.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I think many people that watched this speech were watching
- 26:28Speaker 1: out of curiosity to see what he was going to say,
- 26:31Speaker 1: how he was going to act, but also because they
- 26:35Speaker 1: have seen what's been going on with the Biden campaign
- 26:40Speaker 1: day after day now there's a civil war that's broken
- 26:42Speaker 1: out the Democratic Party, and that makes people want to
- 26:46Speaker 1: watch what the other side is saying and doing. It's
- 26:49Speaker 1: human nature. You then start hearing hours before Donald Trump's
- 26:55Speaker 1: going to take the stage that Joe Biden's probably not
- 26:58Speaker 1: going to be the candidate. More people tune in because
- 27:02Speaker 1: now this is like a sporting event. It's like one
- 27:06Speaker 1: team screwing up. What's the other team going to do
- 27:08Speaker 1: in response? You combine all that together, and I think
- 27:13Speaker 1: what Donald Trump said in that first twenty five minutes
- 27:15Speaker 1: of a speech was truly the most important speech that
- 27:19Speaker 1: he had ever made. And then as many of those
- 27:25Speaker 1: people were more than likely tuning out, he started talking
- 27:29Speaker 1: to his base. He started talking to the faithful conservative voter,
- 27:37Speaker 1: evangelical voter. I think the program last night was phenomenal.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I think the convention was unbelievable. It was the best
- 27:46Speaker 1: Republican convention I've ever seen with a party that is unified.
- 27:52Speaker 1: And I think this is going to be another reason
- 27:54Speaker 1: why it's going to be very hard to beat Donald Trump.
- 27:58Speaker 2: The other big story.
- 28:00Speaker 1: That is going to have massive ramifications on this election
- 28:08Speaker 1: is the reality that apparently Joe Biden is starting to
- 28:13Speaker 1: understand that he is not going to be the nominee,
- 28:19Speaker 1: that they believe that he doesn't have a chance to win,
- 28:21Speaker 1: and they are convincing him of that. Reporting coming out
- 28:25Speaker 1: now is at the big five families of the Democratic mafia,
- 28:29Speaker 1: the Clintons, the Obama's, the Schumer family, the Pelosi family,
- 28:34Speaker 1: and the new Jeffrey's family on the House side leadership
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the Democratic Party have all coalesced with the media
- 28:47Speaker 1: and the donors. So that's seven entities working together to
- 28:51Speaker 1: force him out. I've been told by sources that I
- 28:55Speaker 1: trust that Joe Biden is still holding on because he
- 29:00Speaker 1: wants to make sure that he gets a sweetheart neel,
- 29:03Speaker 1: a golden parachute that if he does come out and say,
- 29:07Speaker 1: I'm not gonna, you know, be the guy. I'm going
- 29:12Speaker 1: to finish out this term, but I'm not going to
- 29:14Speaker 1: be the guy that what actually would happen then is
- 29:19Speaker 1: that whoever gets this job, they're going to agree to
- 29:22Speaker 1: give immunity to my family. Hunter Biden's not going to
- 29:26Speaker 1: go to jail, My brother's not going to go to jail,
- 29:30Speaker 1: and I'm not going to be prosecuted or any other
- 29:32Speaker 1: family member. He wants to guarantee from what I've been told,
- 29:37Speaker 1: and I believe this to be true, that nobody with
- 29:41Speaker 1: the last name Biden is ever going to go to
- 29:44Speaker 1: jail because of the actions of the Biden crime family.
- 29:49Speaker 1: And he has leverage and the Democratic Party is more
- 29:52Speaker 1: than willing to give him that. The question is because
- 29:57Speaker 1: there's going to have to be a trust factor. You
- 30:00Speaker 1: trust Kamala Harris to not screw you, because if Kamala
- 30:04Speaker 1: Harris becomes the president and he decides to step aside
- 30:10Speaker 1: and not take the nomination, he's got to trust that
- 30:15Speaker 1: a woman in his entire career has been basically documented
- 30:19Speaker 1: with screwing the people closest to or no pun intended,
- 30:23Speaker 1: is going to be trustworthy enough to take a hit
- 30:29Speaker 1: in the polls to protect Joe Biden, because it's not
- 30:34Speaker 1: going to help Kamala Harris or any other Democrat that
- 30:38Speaker 1: becomes the president. If they did become the president, hypothetically,
- 30:42Speaker 1: it's not going to raise their approval rating if they
- 30:45Speaker 1: immediately say, oh, and by the way, here's all these
- 30:49Speaker 1: convictions against Hunter or Joe or his brother or anybody else,
- 30:54Speaker 1: and we're giving a blanket immunity, and they're all going
- 30:57Speaker 1: to be all sins of the Biden crime family are forgiven.
- 31:01Speaker 1: That is not good politics. So could you promise that
- 31:05Speaker 1: and not deliver on it? Absolutely? Do I believe that
- 31:09Speaker 1: Kamala Harris could lie to the face of Joe Biden. Yes,
- 31:17Speaker 1: I absolutely do, which is the reason why I think
- 31:19Speaker 1: he hasn't dropped out yet. It's the reason why the
- 31:22Speaker 1: family has isolated him. They have isolated him politically, They've
- 31:27Speaker 1: isolated him in the name of COVID. He has gone
- 31:30Speaker 1: into complete and utter hibernation from all reality and the
- 31:36Speaker 1: Democratic Party they know this, so they've got to sweeten
- 31:40Speaker 1: the pot. They've got to figure out a way to
- 31:43Speaker 1: convince a senile, paranoid, Alzheimer's dementia ridden individual that they
- 31:53Speaker 1: can be trustworthy, trustworthy enough that he can walk away
- 31:58Speaker 1: without having the ability to pardon his son, because there's
- 32:02Speaker 1: nothing to pardon him for yet, because his son, being
- 32:05Speaker 1: an idiot, didn't take, you know, tried to take a
- 32:09Speaker 1: deal that was too good and now is fighting in
- 32:12Speaker 1: these court cases instead of wrapping them up. I understand
- 32:16Speaker 1: how hard it is to deal with someone that has
- 32:18Speaker 1: Alzheimer's or dementia. If you've ever dealt with somebody with
- 32:21Speaker 1: Alzheimer's dementia.
- 32:22Speaker 2: They dig in.
- 32:23Speaker 1: They're irrational, they're not willing to usually compromise on things like, hey,
- 32:29Speaker 1: I need to take away your car keys. Hey, you
- 32:32Speaker 1: don't need to go out alone. Right, you're not going
- 32:35Speaker 1: to tell me that I can't go shopping by myself.
- 32:37Speaker 1: You're not gonna tell me I can't drive. They dig in.
- 32:40Speaker 1: So I think you're also dealing with that aspect of
- 32:43Speaker 1: Alzheimer's dementia with this clearly mentally incapacitated individual and that
- 32:49Speaker 1: paranoid individual who believes that now his entire party with
- 32:54Speaker 1: good reason. By the way, I don't think it's paranoid.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I think it's reality has turned on him and thrown
- 32:59Speaker 1: him to the wolves. I've never seen anything like this
- 33:03Speaker 1: in the Democratic Party, where these mafia style families, the
- 33:08Speaker 1: Biden you know, the the Bidens, used to be one
- 33:12Speaker 1: of the Big five. They're not anymore. They're on the outs.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Democratic Party have no need, no use for the Biden family.
- 33:20Speaker 1: In fact, you could argue that if the Biden family
- 33:23Speaker 1: went down for all of their corruption, right, all of
- 33:28Speaker 1: their corruption, that the Democratic Party would actually benefit from
- 33:34Speaker 1: crucifying them. Acting like that's not a part of the
- 33:37Speaker 1: Democratic machine. Nancy Pelosi wants to act like she's separate
- 33:43Speaker 1: from this corruption. The Clintons and the Obamas won't act
- 33:46Speaker 1: like they're separate of the Biden corruption. The Democratic Party
- 33:50Speaker 1: in general wants to act like they're separate from the
- 33:53Speaker 1: Biden corruption. The members of the House and the Senate
- 33:56Speaker 1: and the Democratic Party don't want to be tied to
- 34:00Speaker 1: a man who is this corrupt. If it's all coming out,
- 34:05Speaker 1: so now you understand why the machine has turned against
- 34:09Speaker 1: Joe Biden is in essence, kicking him out of the
- 34:13Speaker 1: White House and out of the Democratic monarchy is probably
- 34:18Speaker 1: the best way I can describe it. A guy that's
- 34:20Speaker 1: been there for forty plus years is now being fed
- 34:22Speaker 1: to the political wolves.
- 34:25Speaker 2: The media, by the way, they're all on board with this.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Every single member of the media in the Democratic you
- 34:33Speaker 1: know media, however you want to describe them, every single
- 34:39Speaker 1: one of them, every single one of them is throwing
- 34:44Speaker 1: Joe Biden under the bus. They want to get rid
- 34:47Speaker 1: of him. Even his own cabinet is throwing Joe Biden out.
- 34:54Speaker 1: They're leaking everywhere his staffers within the White House, and
- 35:00Speaker 1: and they're almost trying to manifest destiny. This I think
- 35:03Speaker 1: they think if they say it loud enough, say it
- 35:05Speaker 1: often enough, leak it enough times where the fever pitch
- 35:10Speaker 1: continues to grow that Joe Biden's going to drop out,
- 35:12Speaker 1: Joe Biden's going to drop out, they can somehow turn
- 35:15Speaker 1: that leak into a reality, which which is a moment
- 35:19Speaker 1: of caution as well.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Joe Biden could just say screw all, y'all.
- 35:23Speaker 1: None of you are loyal, You're all scum, and if
- 35:27Speaker 1: I'm going down, you're all going down with me. In
- 35:30Speaker 1: other words, all of you in the party are gonna
- 35:32Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna hurt all of you while you're
- 35:35Speaker 1: hurting me. This is going to be the biggest political
- 35:40Speaker 1: story going into the Democratic Convention, and the fact that
- 35:44Speaker 1: it's August and we still may not know who Donald
- 35:49Speaker 1: Trump's running against is completely and utterly insane. Make sure
- 35:53Speaker 1: you share this podcast with your family and friends, please,
- 35:56Speaker 1: because a lot of what I just played for you're
- 35:58Speaker 1: not gonna hear on the news.
- 35:59Speaker 2: And I'll see you're back here tomorrow.
