- 0:01Speaker 1: I see the Tucker Carlson and Senator Ted Cruz interview.
- 0:04Speaker 2: It seems like this issue on whether or not the
- 0:06Speaker 2: United States should strike is kind of dividing a lot
- 0:08Speaker 2: of your supporters. No, my supporters for me, My supporters
- 0:13Speaker 2: are America first. They make America great again. My supporters
- 0:16Speaker 2: don't want to see around have a nuclear weapon. Tucker's
- 0:19Speaker 2: a nice guy. He called and apologized the other day.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Ted Cruz is a nice guy. I mean, he's been
- 0:24Speaker 2: with me for a whole time.
- 0:25Speaker 3: But very simple.
- 0:26Speaker 2: If they think that it's okay for Iran to have
- 0:29Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon, and then they should oppose me. But
- 0:32Speaker 2: nobody thinks it's okay.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Good Friday morning. It's the forty seven Morning Update. Nice
- 0:40Speaker 3: to have you with us, and we've got two big
- 0:42Speaker 3: stories for you this morning. First up, Donald Trump giving
- 0:47Speaker 3: diplomacy more time when it comes to Iran, as there's
- 0:50Speaker 3: major meetings in Geneva directly with European countries and Iran. Also,
- 0:57Speaker 3: the former leadership of Iran's Sun telling the people in
- 1:02Speaker 3: Iran it is time for you to rise up and
- 1:04Speaker 3: topple the current regime. Is there a real chance that
- 1:08Speaker 3: Iran's leadership could collapse? We'll explain that for you as well.
- 1:13Speaker 3: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Story Number one major news coming out of the White House,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and that is that Donald Trump is now saying that
- 1:22Speaker 3: he may take up to two weeks to side whether
- 1:24Speaker 3: he is going to hit the main site of Iran's
- 1:28Speaker 3: nuclear program. Now what does this mean, Well, multiple different things.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Number One, it's shifting towards diplomacy. According to the Washington Post,
- 1:37Speaker 3: has temporarily stepped back from immediate military action, allowing up
- 1:42Speaker 3: to two weeks to exploit a new opportunity for diplomacy
- 1:45Speaker 3: ahead of the planned talks in Geneva with European foreign
- 1:48Speaker 3: ministers and Iran's foreign minister. That is happening, by the
- 1:52Speaker 3: way today. One of the reasons why the President said, okay,
- 1:55Speaker 3: I can maybe wait another twenty four forty eight hours,
- 1:58Speaker 3: see if you guys can talk. So sends into Iran's leadership. Now,
- 2:03Speaker 3: these European led negotiations could be significant. The Financial Times
- 2:08Speaker 3: right now reporting the European powers, including the UK, France
- 2:13Speaker 3: and Germany. We'll meet with the Iranian officials in Geneva.
- 2:17Speaker 3: This is the first quote formal diplomatic engagement since Israel's strike,
- 2:23Speaker 3: and Trump is giving diplomacy this window before deciding. Now,
- 2:28Speaker 3: there are some that are criticizing Donald Trump in the
- 2:31Speaker 3: media on the left, saying, oh, he's lying, he's you know,
- 2:33Speaker 3: he was telling the people who ran that they must
- 2:35Speaker 3: leave now, and now he's backing down. He's being a
- 2:38Speaker 3: ws No, he's being responsible president that is allowing for
- 2:42Speaker 3: negotiations while also having pressure on them to hurry up
- 2:46Speaker 3: and get a deal done. You have to remember that
- 2:49Speaker 3: Donald Trump gave them sixty days referring to Iran to
- 2:53Speaker 3: get a deal done, and they didn't. In what happened
- 2:55Speaker 3: on day sixty one, their site started to be attacked
- 3:00Speaker 3: when the Wall Street journal is also noting that Trump's
- 3:02Speaker 3: two week deadline is a strategic delay aiming to compel
- 3:06Speaker 3: Rand towards negotiations or collapse under mounting global pressure. Now,
- 3:11Speaker 3: this timeframe also shifts immediate responsibility to Israel. That is
- 3:16Speaker 3: something that Israel is more than happy to have because
- 3:19Speaker 3: it's clear that their work and hitting certain targets they
- 3:21Speaker 3: believe is not done yet. And this also reflects Donald
- 3:25Speaker 3: Trump's campaign promise to avoid US war commitments. Now, the
- 3:30Speaker 3: White House signals are also very clear. At this hour.
- 3:33Speaker 3: The AP is confirming the White House via the pre
- 3:36Speaker 3: Secretary Caroline Levitt framing this two week period as driven
- 3:40Speaker 3: by quote a substantial chance of negotiations and Geneva. Trump
- 3:46Speaker 3: emphasized he's always interested in a diplomatic solution while maintaining
- 3:52Speaker 3: military strength as a backup. Now, why is this a
- 3:56Speaker 3: positive development? Is the question that many of you may
- 3:59Speaker 3: be asking. Well, it's diplomacy over force. That is something
- 4:03Speaker 3: Donald Trump's been in favor of the entire time he's
- 4:06Speaker 3: been in office, and the paws marks they move away
- 4:09Speaker 3: from immediate military escalation, something we were expecting honestly over
- 4:13Speaker 3: the last twenty four to forty eight hours, and it
- 4:16Speaker 3: signals Trump's openness to diplomatic engagement, especially through the European mediation,
- 4:23Speaker 3: where America is going to be waiting by the phone
- 4:25Speaker 3: but not actually involved in it. We also know there's
- 4:28Speaker 3: no immediate US strike at least at this moment. Military
- 4:33Speaker 3: options we have been told have been laid out and
- 4:36Speaker 3: are on the table, but there's no authorization for immediate
- 4:40Speaker 3: action from Donald Trump. That does a break from prior
- 4:45Speaker 3: posturing and also media reports. And then there's the global
- 4:49Speaker 3: coordination President Trump working with our allies in Europe. This
- 4:54Speaker 3: move is synchronizing US policy with active European diplomatic efforts
- 5:00Speaker 3: directly with a RAN's leadership, and it's reinforcing a more
- 5:04Speaker 3: unified and multilateral approach. Again, it's clear that Donald Trump
- 5:08Speaker 3: wants to avoid war. The bottom line is this. Donald
- 5:13Speaker 3: Trump's announcement of a two week decision window reflects a
- 5:17Speaker 3: major pivot. It's a pivot from what we thought was
- 5:20Speaker 3: going to be in an immediate strike to diplomacy, providing
- 5:25Speaker 3: breathing room for these ongoing talks in Geneva. It also
- 5:29Speaker 3: demonstrates a strategic recalibration by the Trump team from brinksmanship
- 5:35Speaker 3: to negotiations, and without that brinksmanship and without that threat
- 5:39Speaker 3: of a real attack in the next twelve or twenty
- 5:42Speaker 3: four hours from Donald Trump, it is bringing a RAND
- 5:45Speaker 3: to the table quickly, and it also lines the US
- 5:48Speaker 3: with international efforts to de escalate the tensions over the issue,
- 5:54Speaker 3: and it allows for breathing room for Israel to continue
- 5:57Speaker 3: to do what they need to do to protect their country.
- 6:01Speaker 3: So if you take a step back and you look
- 6:03Speaker 3: at what's happened over the last twenty four hours. This
- 6:06Speaker 3: is good news for America and our interests. I think
- 6:09Speaker 3: at the end of the day, many Americans don't want
- 6:12Speaker 3: to be involved in an attack on Iran. But there's
- 6:16Speaker 3: also overwhelming support in new polling for making sure that
- 6:20Speaker 3: Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. And the only person
- 6:25Speaker 3: that can stop Iran from getting that nuclear weapon is
- 6:28Speaker 3: clearly the United States of America with our bunker busting bombs.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Now there's also one other person that can admit, defeat,
- 6:37Speaker 3: and stop all of this insanity that is Iran. And
- 6:40Speaker 3: that's the hope in these meetings is that diplomacy will
- 6:44Speaker 3: seem very real to them and also a real option
- 6:48Speaker 3: to get off this path to well chaos and destruction.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Now story number two.
- 6:53Speaker 3: The exiled Crown Prince is now saying the Islamic Republic
- 6:58Speaker 3: is collapsing as we speak in Iran. The exile Crown
- 7:02Speaker 3: Prince of Iran and son of the last Persian shaw
- 7:06Speaker 3: urged Iranians on Tuesday to prepare for the impeding fall
- 7:09Speaker 3: of the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Republic as the
- 7:13Speaker 3: country struggles to fight off attacks from Israel, saying this
- 7:18Speaker 3: the Islamic Republic has reached its end and is in
- 7:21Speaker 3: the process of collapsing. The Supreme Leader is like a
- 7:24Speaker 3: frightened rat. He has gone into hiding underground and has
- 7:28Speaker 3: lost control of the situation. What has begun is irreversible.
- 7:32Speaker 3: The future is bright and together we will pass through
- 7:35Speaker 3: this sharp turn in history. Now, the military conflict between
- 7:39Speaker 3: Iran and Israel stretched into its sixth day, with little
- 7:43Speaker 3: signs of slowing down, as Israel is continuing to hammer
- 7:47Speaker 3: Tehran's nuclear pursuits. Now, the former shaw of Iran sun
- 7:51Speaker 3: and he knows a lot about when your time's up.
- 7:54Speaker 3: They ruled Iran from nineteen twenty five to nineteen seventy nine.
- 7:58Speaker 3: That's when it was overthrown in the Islamic Revolution. That
- 8:01Speaker 3: is when the around hostage crisis also happened when they
- 8:04Speaker 3: took American hostages in our embassy. And he went on
- 8:08Speaker 3: to social media in English and Farsi and directed the
- 8:12Speaker 3: messages to his fellow countrymen and encouraged a full out uprising,
- 8:17Speaker 3: saying this now is the time to rise, the time
- 8:20Speaker 3: to reclaim Iran. Let us all come forward and bring
- 8:24Speaker 3: about the end of this regime. He also advised that
- 8:27Speaker 3: there is a plan to establish a democratic government in
- 8:30Speaker 3: Iran within one hundred days of the collapse of the
- 8:32Speaker 3: Islamic Republic. He also urged military, law enforcement, security forces,
- 8:38Speaker 3: and state employees to join the effort to topple the
- 8:42Speaker 3: government under the leadership that is currently there in Iran,
- 8:46Speaker 3: saying this, do not stand against the Iranian people for
- 8:49Speaker 3: the sake of a regime whose fall has begun and
- 8:53Speaker 3: is inevitable. Do not sacrifice yourselves for a decaying regime.
- 8:59Speaker 3: By standing with the peace, you can save your lives,
- 9:02Speaker 3: play an historic role in the transformation of the Islamic Republic,
- 9:06Speaker 3: and take part in building the future of Iran. Now
- 9:10Speaker 3: you hear this and is it real? There's a chance
- 9:13Speaker 3: that all of it could come cut tumbling down around
- 9:15Speaker 3: the leadership in Iran. Yes. Why because we know that
- 9:19Speaker 3: the leader of Iran is in hiding. We also know
- 9:22Speaker 3: that millions of people in Iran fled Tehran when Donald
- 9:27Speaker 3: Trump said you need to leave. Now another example of
- 9:32Speaker 3: just how fragile the current regime may be. And finally,
- 9:36Speaker 3: a lot of the people that were afraid of the
- 9:38Speaker 3: regime may realize they're not as powerful as they thought,
- 9:41Speaker 3: especially knowing the air superiority was toppled in a matter
- 9:46Speaker 3: of hours by Israel, and Israel can do basically whatever
- 9:51Speaker 3: they want to do from the skies right now. So yes,
- 9:54Speaker 3: there's a lot of reasons to give diplomacy and other
- 9:58Speaker 3: things like this few more days before the present makes
- 10:02Speaker 3: a decision, and that clearly is good for all Americans
- 10:06Speaker 3: and also the Middle East.
