- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome. It is a verdict with Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson,
- 0:03Speaker 1: with you, Senator the elephant in the room. We have
- 0:07Speaker 1: officially lost the Senate, the ability to pick up the Senate.
- 0:11Speaker 1: And there are a lot of Americans that are going
- 0:13Speaker 1: to be tuning in to you this morning and they
- 0:16Speaker 1: want to know who is to blame for this. There
- 0:19Speaker 1: are a ton of people arguing over this right now
- 0:23Speaker 1: that's saying it's Mitch McConnell's fault. No, no no, no, it's
- 0:25Speaker 1: Donald Trump's fault for picking candidates like doctor oz Or.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And then it's not even his fault, it's his wife's fault.
- 0:30Speaker 1: And everybody's trying to figure out, how do you put
- 0:33Speaker 1: this in a box? And I think it's so important
- 0:35Speaker 1: to get your take on this. What happened, how did
- 0:38Speaker 1: this happen? And who's to blame for it? Well, Ben,
- 0:42Speaker 1: let me start out by saying, I am so pissed
- 0:45Speaker 1: off I cannot even c straight. We had an extraordinary opportunity,
- 0:50Speaker 1: We had a generational opportunity. This should have been a
- 0:54Speaker 1: fundamental landslide election. We should have won the House and
- 0:59Speaker 1: the Senate. We should have a thirty forty fifty vote
- 1:02Speaker 1: majority in the House. We should have fifty three fifty
- 1:05Speaker 1: four to fifty five Republicans in the Senate, and instead,
- 1:09Speaker 1: holy crap, the Democrats keep the Senate. Worse than that,
- 1:14Speaker 1: the Democrats potentially grow their majority in the Senate. Worse
- 1:18Speaker 1: than that. Yes, we take the House, but at best
- 1:23Speaker 1: we're going to take the House with a couple of seats.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Maybe there is an outside chance we lose the House.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I don't think we will. I think the numbers are
- 1:31Speaker 1: enough that we will hold onto the House. But it's
- 1:34Speaker 1: gonna be a majority of two nineteen to twenty to
- 1:37Speaker 1: twenty one to twenty two to eighteen is a majority.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So we're going to be looking at a two three
- 1:43Speaker 1: four vote majority at best. The rage Americans are feeling
- 1:51Speaker 1: across this country, the rage that I'm feeling, there are
- 1:53Speaker 1: almost not words to describe it, because this opportunity was
- 1:58Speaker 1: screwed up, was screwed up badly, and the people are
- 2:02Speaker 1: going to pay the price. So the American people, the
- 2:04Speaker 1: country is screwed. For the next four years because of this,
- 2:08Speaker 1: We're gonna see horrible left wing judges confirmed. For the
- 2:12Speaker 1: next two years. Because of this, we're going to see
- 2:15Speaker 1: judges taking away our free speech rights, our religious liberty rights,
- 2:19Speaker 1: our Second Amendment rights. It is an enormous missed opportunity,
- 2:25Speaker 1: and I got to say it, it is hard to
- 2:27Speaker 1: describe my feelings as anything other than rage. Right now, Senator,
- 2:31Speaker 1: before we get into some of the exit poll data
- 2:33Speaker 1: that I think really tells you a lot about where
- 2:35Speaker 1: the American mindset was going into election day, I want
- 2:39Speaker 1: to remind people about our good friends over at Patriot Mobile.
- 2:42Speaker 1: If you have a cell phone and you do, there
- 2:45Speaker 1: is a company where every single time you make a
- 2:48Speaker 1: phone call, you are actually standing up for the values
- 2:51Speaker 1: that you believe in. The company is called Patriot Mobile,
- 2:54Speaker 1: and they actually save you money on your cell phone
- 2:57Speaker 1: bill while also supporting Christian conservative causes. Now, this is
- 3:03Speaker 1: why I love them as a company. Not only do
- 3:06Speaker 1: they find conservative causes and candidates that believe in exactly
- 3:09Speaker 1: what you and I believe in, the sanctity of life,
- 3:11Speaker 1: freedom of speech, the Second Amendment, but they're having a
- 3:14Speaker 1: huge impact when it comes to sending out for kids
- 3:16Speaker 1: in our public schools and helping with adoption. Right now,
- 3:21Speaker 1: since Roe v. Wade has been overturned, these are the
- 3:24Speaker 1: important issues that they do every day all you gotta
- 3:27Speaker 1: do is switch. You're gonna get the same cell phone
- 3:29Speaker 1: coverage you get right now. You're gonna save money. You
- 3:31Speaker 1: can keep your same cell phone number, and switching is
- 3:34Speaker 1: really easy. You use the same towers and the same
- 3:37Speaker 1: coverage you have right now, except you are supporting conservative causes.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So check out Patriot Mobile. Get in the game, Patriotmobile
- 3:46Speaker 1: dot com, slash verdict, Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict, use
- 3:52Speaker 1: the promo code Verdict. You'll save money and you'll get
- 3:56Speaker 1: free activation. You can also call them nine to seven
- 4:00Speaker 1: to Patriot. That's nine seven two Patriot or Patriot Mobile
- 4:07Speaker 1: dot com slash verdict. One of the things that I
- 4:11Speaker 1: still think is so shocking is the exit poll data
- 4:14Speaker 1: did show that Americans were very concerned over the issues
- 4:20Speaker 1: the economy. They were very concerned over inflation, they were
- 4:24Speaker 1: very concerned over parental rights, they were very concerned over
- 4:29Speaker 1: all of these types of issues that clearly leaned to
- 4:32Speaker 1: the Republican candidates. Yet on election day we still see
- 4:39Speaker 1: and Democrats were as shocked as anybody. They were expecting
- 4:43Speaker 1: a bloodbast senator. And then they went on TV this
- 4:46Speaker 1: weekend on the Sunday shows, and they were basically sitting
- 4:50Speaker 1: there in total disbelief. They were actually saying out loud,
- 4:54Speaker 1: we cannot believe how well the Democrats did, comparing it
- 4:59Speaker 1: to how bad the economy was, and how low the
- 5:02Speaker 1: presence approval rating was, and how low the Democrats approval
- 5:06Speaker 1: rating was as a party. Look the Democrats that assumed
- 5:09Speaker 1: they were going to get utterly obliterated in the House,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and the Democrats thought they would lose the Senate, and
- 5:17Speaker 1: on every objective indsia they should have the top issues.
- 5:22Speaker 1: A large majority of Americans believe are on the wrong track.
- 5:25Speaker 1: They believe the economy is terrible, but they believe Joe
- 5:27Speaker 1: Biden is doing a terrible job. The top three issues
- 5:30Speaker 1: in the country number one, inflation, number two, crime, number
- 5:34Speaker 1: three illegal immigration. Democrats are disastrous on all three of them.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And yet at the end of the day, look, one
- 5:41Speaker 1: of the patterns we have out of this selection incumbents,
- 5:44Speaker 1: by and large one across the board. So the voters
- 5:47Speaker 1: came in, we said, we think it's all crap, let's
- 5:50Speaker 1: vote for the guy we got right now. And so
- 5:53Speaker 1: a whole bunch of incumbents prevailed, despite the voters recognizing
- 5:57Speaker 1: their lives had gotten a lot worse, and yet they
- 6:02Speaker 1: reelected the same people who did this. In terms of
- 6:07Speaker 1: whose fault it is, this is going to be a
- 6:10Speaker 1: discussion we're going to have for weeks and months going forward.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I think there is plenty of blame to go around.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Everybody bears some of the blame. But I will tell you, look,
- 6:26Speaker 1: the issue right now that I think is critical. The
- 6:31Speaker 1: Republican Senate has a leadership election scheduled for Wednesday, two
- 6:37Speaker 1: days from now. It would be insane if we reelect
- 6:44Speaker 1: the same leadership two days from now. If we say, hey,
- 6:48Speaker 1: nothing happened, Everything's good. Keep rowing off the waterfall, crash
- 6:54Speaker 1: into the rocks, everything's awesome. Listen, if you have the
- 6:57Speaker 1: number one team in the nation and you get crushed,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and you get crushed, and you get crushed, you know
- 7:01Speaker 1: what happens. They fire the coach. The idea that we
- 7:05Speaker 1: would have leadership elections on Wednesday is insane. I can
- 7:09Speaker 1: tell you I have publicly called for delaying the leadership
- 7:13Speaker 1: elections of the Senate until at a minimum after December six,
- 7:17Speaker 1: which is when the Georgia runoff is, because at this
- 7:20Speaker 1: point we don't even know who the Republican Conference is sadly,
- 7:24Speaker 1: we know it's a minority, so at best we're going
- 7:28Speaker 1: to have fifty senators and with Kamala Harris as the
- 7:31Speaker 1: vice president, that means the Democrats will have a majority.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But we don't know who the senator from Georgia is.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It could be herschel Walker. We don't know who the
- 7:41Speaker 1: senator from Alaska is. There's still it's gonna be a
- 7:45Speaker 1: couple of weeks before they reallocate the ranked choice voting,
- 7:48Speaker 1: so we don't know who the Senator from Alaska will be.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And yet what is happening is the Republican Leader, Mitch McConnell,
- 7:56Speaker 1: is trying to force through a vote on Wednesday. Now,
- 8:00Speaker 1: one of the things to understand people ask, well, gosh,
- 8:03Speaker 1: what's a Republican leader election like? And I have to admit,
- 8:08Speaker 1: when I first arrived here ten years ago, I didn't
- 8:10Speaker 1: know what it would be like I went to my
- 8:12Speaker 1: first one. So they do it deliberately immediately after the election,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and the people that vote the old retiring senators don't vote,
- 8:20Speaker 1: So the people who vote in a leadership election are
- 8:22Speaker 1: all of the new senators coming into the new Senate.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So you show up when I showed up there in
- 8:28Speaker 1: twenty twelve. I'm a baby senator. They put you in
- 8:31Speaker 1: a little temporary office down in the basement. You have
- 8:34Speaker 1: like three little offices, which with a bunch of people
- 8:36Speaker 1: packed in there. You don't know what you're doing. You
- 8:39Speaker 1: don't even know where the men's room is, and you
- 8:41Speaker 1: immediately walk in and have to vote on leader. And
- 8:43Speaker 1: they do that because they don't want the freshmen, who
- 8:47Speaker 1: are the least they have the least hooks in them
- 8:49Speaker 1: at that point. They don't want them to be able
- 8:52Speaker 1: to organize and vote against any existing leadership then, so
- 8:55Speaker 1: they try to force a leadership vote through before you
- 8:58Speaker 1: have a chance to do anything. The first leadership election
- 9:03Speaker 1: I went to in twenty twelve, I was amazed. I
- 9:07Speaker 1: kind of set back and said, oh, this should be interesting,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and I assumed the Republican leader was Mitch McConnell. Then
- 9:13Speaker 1: would stand up and give a speech and say, hey,
- 9:15Speaker 1: here's what I want to do. Twenty twelve, Barack Obama
- 9:20Speaker 1: had just been re elected to a second term. We'd
- 9:22Speaker 1: had a really disappointing election like this one. I'd got elected.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I was one of the few bright spots, at least
- 9:28Speaker 1: from my perspective not necessarily from Mitch's of the Democrats' perspective,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but you know, I was waiting for a Republican leader
- 9:37Speaker 1: to lay out a vision of here's how we're going
- 9:39Speaker 1: to fight against Obama, here's what we're going to do
- 9:42Speaker 1: to press back against these disastrous policies. Then it will
- 9:46Speaker 1: amaze you. At leadership elections, the leaders don't give speeches,
- 9:51Speaker 1: they don't lay out agendas, they don't say what they
- 9:53Speaker 1: intend to do. They say absolutely zero about their plans
- 9:59Speaker 1: going forward. Instead what happens. It was a shocking by
- 10:02Speaker 1: the way, because if it's a leadership election, you would
- 10:04Speaker 1: think and that's the first time I'm learning about this.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I thought for sure there was a Hey, here's why
- 10:11Speaker 1: I still think I should be the leader. Mitch McConnell, right,
- 10:13Speaker 1: this is what we're gonna do, this is what we're
- 10:15Speaker 1: gonna how I'm gonna do things. This is and then
- 10:17Speaker 1: would answer questions you're saying that will not happen on Wednesday,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and does not happen in the past either, So I
- 10:23Speaker 1: can tell you in the past it has never happened.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And look you point out think back to like when
- 10:30Speaker 1: you and I were in junior high student council elections. Sure,
- 10:34Speaker 1: someone would stand up and say, elect me to student
- 10:36Speaker 1: council and if you do, I'll have chocolate ice cream
- 10:40Speaker 1: in the cafeteria. Like they have some promise of what
- 10:44Speaker 1: they're gonna do, and you'd be like, oh, okay, I
- 10:46Speaker 1: like that, I'll vote for you. I naively came in
- 10:49Speaker 1: and said, okay, I assume that's what the leader elections
- 10:51Speaker 1: are like. They don't give any speeches at all. Instead,
- 10:54Speaker 1: other senators stand up and give nominating speeches. And the
- 10:58Speaker 1: nominating speeches are are these epic poems composed to the leaders.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And so I've been there ten years. I've never voted
- 11:10Speaker 1: for or against Mitch McConnell. Why is that no one's
- 11:13Speaker 1: ever run against him? And every election has been a
- 11:16Speaker 1: vote by acclamation. In other words, he's just been adopted
- 11:19Speaker 1: by acclamation. We've never had a cast a vote. My
- 11:23Speaker 1: first year I saw that, I was like, okay, this
- 11:25Speaker 1: is really bizarre. But then two years later, twenty fourteen,
- 11:29Speaker 1: I've been in the Senate for two years, something new developed,
- 11:33Speaker 1: which is in twenty fourteen, for the first year, Mitch
- 11:35Speaker 1: McConnell created a superpack, and Mitch's Superpack raises and spends
- 11:42Speaker 1: about three hundred million dollars every two years to elect
- 11:45Speaker 1: Senate Republicans. I remember sitting there in twenty fourteen, two
- 11:50Speaker 1: years into my term in the Senate, amazed and horrified,
- 11:55Speaker 1: in fact, texting Mike Lee, the wonderful Conservative from you,
- 12:00Speaker 1: Tau and my closest friends. This is terrible because today
- 12:05Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell is the single largest donor to every single
- 12:09Speaker 1: Republican Senator, almost without exception. He doesn't give to my campaigns.
- 12:13Speaker 1: He didn't give a penny to Mike Lee's campaign six
- 12:17Speaker 1: years ago. He didn't give a penny to Ron Johnson's campaign.
- 12:21Speaker 1: But Mitch. For most of the Republicans in the Senate,
- 12:24Speaker 1: Mitch is spending ten million, twenty million, thirty million, as
- 12:28Speaker 1: much as forty million dollars on their races, So most
- 12:31Speaker 1: of the Republicans are scared to cross him. I do
- 12:37Speaker 1: think this cycle it may be different. So I have
- 12:40Speaker 1: publicly called for delaying the leadership elections from Wednesday till
- 12:44Speaker 1: after the Georgia runoff, which is on December sixth. Several
- 12:48Speaker 1: other Republican Senators are called for the same. Mike Lee
- 12:52Speaker 1: has called for the same. Ron Johnson has called for
- 12:54Speaker 1: the same. Josh Holly Is called for the same. Cynthia
- 13:00Speaker 1: Lumis has called for the same. Actually, Marco Rubio has
- 13:03Speaker 1: called for the same, which surprised a lot of people.
- 13:05Speaker 1: That was an unusual development. Just a few hours ago,
- 13:10Speaker 1: Lindsey Graham called for delaying the elections. We're starting to
- 13:14Speaker 1: see several Republicans lean out and call for that. That
- 13:18Speaker 1: being said, the response of Republican leadership is not only no,
- 13:22Speaker 1: but hell no, we will vote, Shut up and vote.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Is that because they're afraid you guys are going to organize,
- 13:30Speaker 1: or because and is it also they're afraid that as
- 13:34Speaker 1: each day goes by, more and more Americans will sound
- 13:38Speaker 1: off and talk to their elected officials about why they
- 13:43Speaker 1: don't want Mitch McConnell to be the leader. Yes, yes, yes, listen.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think if you look back at the record of success,
- 13:53Speaker 1: just like with a football coach, where you would fire
- 13:54Speaker 1: a football coach if the team loses when they should
- 13:57Speaker 1: have won, we should have won. And I got to say,
- 14:01Speaker 1: Mitche's philosophy as leader is to snuggle up to the
- 14:06Speaker 1: Democrats and work with the Democrats. You know, you look
- 14:09Speaker 1: at what happens when the Democrats have a majority in
- 14:13Speaker 1: the Senate. When the majority leader is Harry Reid or
- 14:16Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer, they don't cozy up to Republicans. When Republicans
- 14:22Speaker 1: had a majority in the Senate under Trump, the Democrats
- 14:27Speaker 1: didn't want to work with us. They voted no and
- 14:29Speaker 1: hell no on everything. The difference is when Republicans have
- 14:34Speaker 1: the majority, our current leadership believes it's a good idea
- 14:38Speaker 1: to pass bill after bill after bill with all the
- 14:41Speaker 1: Democrats and with ten or twelve or fifteen Republicans, and
- 14:45Speaker 1: so they end up organizing a small crew of Republicans
- 14:48Speaker 1: to suck up to the Democrats and give the Democrats
- 14:51Speaker 1: legislative wins. And by the way, Ben the Democrats never
- 14:55Speaker 1: ever ever do this when we have the majority. They're
- 14:58Speaker 1: not ten or twelve Democrats come give us wins. Nope,
- 15:01Speaker 1: they just vote hell no on everything. And I got
- 15:05Speaker 1: to say that I think there is a need for
- 15:09Speaker 1: a real reassessment of is this a good strategy for
- 15:13Speaker 1: the next two years. I think the American people expect
- 15:16Speaker 1: us to fight against these disastrous policies from the Democrats,
- 15:20Speaker 1: the policies that are producing rampant inflation and out of
- 15:25Speaker 1: control gas prices and crime that is skyrocketing, and open
- 15:28Speaker 1: borders and our current leadership. My single biggest disagreement with
- 15:35Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell over the last ten years is over and
- 15:38Speaker 1: over and over again when it comes to can we
- 15:41Speaker 1: stand up to Barack Obama or Joe Biden. His answer
- 15:44Speaker 1: is no. And I believe the answer is yes, that
- 15:46Speaker 1: we ought to stand and fight, not on everything. Look,
- 15:49Speaker 1: if you fight on everything, you're not being smart, you're
- 15:52Speaker 1: not being strategic, You're not actually fighting a real fight.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I think you pick real, significant fights that matter, and
- 15:59Speaker 1: then you develop a strategy to really fight on it. So,
- 16:02Speaker 1: for example, I think we ought to fight an epic,
- 16:05Speaker 1: knock down, drag out fight over stopping the Democrats from
- 16:10Speaker 1: funding eighty seven thousand new IRS agents to harass and
- 16:13Speaker 1: intimidate and persecute Americans and their political enemies. Now, to
- 16:18Speaker 1: do that, we will have to draw a line in
- 16:20Speaker 1: the sand and say we will not fund them. Here's
- 16:22Speaker 1: what will happen next, ben the Democrats and the media
- 16:26Speaker 1: will say Republicans are shutting down the government because the
- 16:28Speaker 1: only way to do it is on a government funding bill. Sure,
- 16:32Speaker 1: if past this prologue, our current leadership will agree with
- 16:37Speaker 1: the Democrats and the media and say, yeah, Republicans are
- 16:39Speaker 1: shutting down the government. It's terrible, so let's fund the
- 16:42Speaker 1: irs agents. I think the American people are pissed with
- 16:48Speaker 1: Republicans behaving like jellyfish. We need to stand up and fight,
- 16:54Speaker 1: and so one of the big reasons to delay the
- 16:56Speaker 1: election is to have time to have a debate about
- 17:01Speaker 1: what our strategy should be. And it ought to be
- 17:03Speaker 1: a strategy that involves every Republican, not one leader as dictator,
- 17:10Speaker 1: deciding the rules, and for those rules to be capitulation
- 17:13Speaker 1: to the Democrats. One of the things that I think
- 17:17Speaker 1: so many Americans are gonna want to have an answer to,
- 17:21Speaker 1: Senator is, if you take a step back, who's to
- 17:25Speaker 1: blame for some of the candidate selection has got us
- 17:27Speaker 1: into this situation that we're in now. Some of the
- 17:31Speaker 1: losses I think we're lack of funding from Mitch McConnell.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I think you would probably agree with me in that one.
- 17:37Speaker 1: But the other part of this is we had some
- 17:41Speaker 1: really bad candidates that were picked. Doctor Odz screams at
- 17:44Speaker 1: the top of my list, and I want to get
- 17:46Speaker 1: your take because so many Americans I've talked to over
- 17:49Speaker 1: the last couple of days, they're trying to figure that
- 17:51Speaker 1: part at this out of the math equation of how
- 17:53Speaker 1: we screwed this up so badly. So, Look, we had
- 17:57Speaker 1: some candidates who were not very good candidates. Mitch McConnell
- 18:01Speaker 1: said that two months ago. I disagreed with him strongly
- 18:05Speaker 1: at the time, not in the fact of it. Yes,
- 18:07Speaker 1: that there were some candidates who were not great candidates,
- 18:09Speaker 1: but it's really dumb for the Republican leaders to take
- 18:13Speaker 1: a two buy four to them while they're running once
- 18:16Speaker 1: there are damn nominees, like, don't stand up and kneecap
- 18:19Speaker 1: them while they're running. But the time to have done
- 18:24Speaker 1: that was in the primaries, to elect candidates who were
- 18:27Speaker 1: real and serious candidates. And you take Pennsylvania, listen. I
- 18:30Speaker 1: was all in for Dave McCormick. I went, I campaigned
- 18:33Speaker 1: for Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania the first week he announced.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I campaigned with Dave all over the state. If Dave
- 18:39Speaker 1: McCormick had been our nominee, he would have won Pennsylvania
- 18:44Speaker 1: and we would have been, I hope, on a path
- 18:46Speaker 1: to a Republican majority. He was clearly the strongest conservative
- 18:53Speaker 1: who can win, and yet he didn't win, and Trump
- 18:58Speaker 1: came in at the end endorsed doctor Oz, did big
- 19:02Speaker 1: rallies for Doctor Oz, and actually stood up in the
- 19:05Speaker 1: rally podium and blasted McCormick, which is amazing given that
- 19:09Speaker 1: he offered Dave McCormick the position of Deputy Secretary of
- 19:12Speaker 1: Defense and Dave's wife was the deputy National Security Advisor
- 19:18Speaker 1: to Donald Trump in the Trump White House. But that
- 19:22Speaker 1: had a real effect. And I gotta say, if we
- 19:26Speaker 1: had come together as a party and said we need
- 19:29Speaker 1: to win this race and we need a serious and
- 19:31Speaker 1: real candidate to do so, we would be celebrating a
- 19:35Speaker 1: victory instead of a loss. But that's not what happened.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Let's deal with Walker. There's a lot of people, and
- 19:42Speaker 1: you look at Georgia. That's the last place we're really
- 19:45Speaker 1: in a fight. You and I were just out there
- 19:48Speaker 1: on his tour on his campaign bus two days after
- 19:54Speaker 1: the election. He's in this runoff, and I'm really worried,
- 19:57Speaker 1: Senator that there's going to be a lot of people
- 20:00Speaker 1: in this country that are going to now think, well,
- 20:02Speaker 1: because we don't have the majority right or the chance
- 20:05Speaker 1: at the majority anymore than the Senate that this race
- 20:09Speaker 1: is pretty much who cares what really happens, right, because
- 20:12Speaker 1: they're gonna have control of the Senate, so so be it.
- 20:15Speaker 1: That is not the case at all, And I need
- 20:17Speaker 1: you to explain to everybody why this election in Georgia's
- 20:22Speaker 1: is still so extremely important. Yeah, it's a great question.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I want to say to everyone who listens to this podcast,
- 20:30Speaker 1: I want to call on you to do two things.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Number One, the battle this week to delay the leadership
- 20:37Speaker 1: election in the Senate is hugely important. I mentioned to
- 20:41Speaker 1: you the senators that have called publicly for delaying it,
- 20:43Speaker 1: me Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, Josh Holly, Rick Scott, Cynthia Alumbus,
- 20:52Speaker 1: Marco Rubio, and Lindsey Graham. If your senator is not
- 20:58Speaker 1: on that list, pick up the phone today and call
- 21:03Speaker 1: your senator and call on them to delay the majority
- 21:07Speaker 1: election the leadership election until after the Georgia runoff. That
- 21:15Speaker 1: is hugely important and the only way this will change.
- 21:18Speaker 1: The only way that election gets delayed is if a
- 21:21Speaker 1: gazillion phone calls come in two Senate Republicans in the
- 21:26Speaker 1: next forty eight hours. But secondly, the question you asked
- 21:30Speaker 1: Ben about Georgia there is a tendency among activists, among
- 21:34Speaker 1: donors to say, well, gosh, if the Democrats have the majority,
- 21:37Speaker 1: no matter what, Georgia doesn't matter. That is absolutely wrong
- 21:43Speaker 1: and let me explain why. So, as you know, right
- 21:47Speaker 1: after the election we go to the runoff, the very
- 21:49Speaker 1: first call the Herschel Walker campaign made was to me
- 21:53Speaker 1: and my team and they asked me to come rally
- 21:55Speaker 1: with Herschel. I was there on Thursday, two days after
- 21:58Speaker 1: the election, or the kickoff rally of the runoff. We
- 22:02Speaker 1: had over three thousand people come out. We had enormous energy.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It was fantastic. But let me tell you why, and
- 22:09Speaker 1: this is an important message to hear. This is why
- 22:12Speaker 1: the Georgia runoff matters immensely, even though Democrats are going
- 22:18Speaker 1: to have the majority regardless. And the reason is as follows.
- 22:22Speaker 1: If we lose Georgia, the Democrats will be at plus
- 22:27Speaker 1: one in the Senate. In other words, they will go
- 22:29Speaker 1: from fifty Democrats to fifty one Democrats. Why does that
- 22:33Speaker 1: matter Because the last two years, the Democrats tried repeatedly
- 22:37Speaker 1: to end the filibuster. They had forty eight votes to
- 22:41Speaker 1: end the filibuster. They were blocked by two Democrats Joe
- 22:45Speaker 1: Mansion of West Virginia and Kirsten Cinema of Arizona. Those
- 22:50Speaker 1: two stopped them from ending the filibuster. Between the two,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I think Cinema was the far stronger. I think Mansion
- 22:58Speaker 1: would have rolled over, but Cinema provided the backbone to
- 23:02Speaker 1: stop Mansion from rolling over. On that and I base Listen,
- 23:06Speaker 1: I've served in the Senate for ten years with Joe
- 23:08Speaker 1: Mansion prior to the last two years, one hundred percent
- 23:12Speaker 1: of the time when the stakes were high and Chuck
- 23:15Speaker 1: Schumer put the pressure on, Mansion gave in and did
- 23:19Speaker 1: what Schumer wanted, always one hundred percent without exception. Mansion
- 23:24Speaker 1: was never the deciding vote. It was Cinema that changed
- 23:27Speaker 1: the whole dynamic because she came in and had some backbone,
- 23:30Speaker 1: and suddenly it was like, Wow, they're really not ending
- 23:33Speaker 1: the filibuster. Now you might say, Okay, why do I
- 23:35Speaker 1: care about ending the filibuster. Here's what the Democrats want
- 23:39Speaker 1: to do. If they end the filibuster. Number one, they
- 23:41Speaker 1: will pass S one, the Corrupt Politicians Act, which would
- 23:45Speaker 1: strike down every voter integrity law in the country, would
- 23:48Speaker 1: strike down every photo ID law in the country. It
- 23:50Speaker 1: would legalize ballot harvesting all across the country. It would
- 23:54Speaker 1: immediately register to vote millions of illegal aliens. It would
- 23:57Speaker 1: register to vote felons all across this county. It is
- 24:01Speaker 1: designed to ensure that Democrats can never lose again. The
- 24:07Speaker 1: second thing they would do is add two new states
- 24:09Speaker 1: to the Union, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
- 24:12Speaker 1: They're doing that. They want to do that because it
- 24:14Speaker 1: would add they believe, four new Democrats senators so that
- 24:19Speaker 1: they believe Republicans could never take the Senate again. The
- 24:22Speaker 1: third thing they would do is grant citizenship and voting
- 24:26Speaker 1: rights to every illegal alien in America ten fifteen, twenty million.
- 24:31Speaker 1: We don't know the exact number, but a big number. Again.
- 24:35Speaker 1: They would do that to seize power forever. And the
- 24:37Speaker 1: fourth to the thing they would do is pack the
- 24:40Speaker 1: United States Supreme Court, add four new left wing Democrats
- 24:45Speaker 1: to the Supreme Court, take it from nine justices to thirteen,
- 24:49Speaker 1: which would critically injure and take away our constitutional rights
- 24:55Speaker 1: to free speech, to religious liberty of the Second Amendment.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It would strike down school choice all across the country.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I believe if the Democrats win in Georgia, and they
- 25:06Speaker 1: have a fifty one vote majority, that Joe Mansion will
- 25:10Speaker 1: fold under the pressure from Chuck Schumer and they will
- 25:13Speaker 1: end the filibuster. And I got to say, look, Ben,
- 25:17Speaker 1: by my nature, I'm a deeply optimistic person, but if
- 25:23Speaker 1: they go down that road, I don't know how we
- 25:27Speaker 1: come back from it. Well. And Democrats, they have shown
- 25:30Speaker 1: no restraint at all in undermining the rules or the laws,
- 25:36Speaker 1: or even the procedures with our government or our country.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I mean, they knew when they were impeaching Donald Trump
- 25:42Speaker 1: that they were trying to overthrow the world the people
- 25:44Speaker 1: on adociate that they knew that their party, the Democratic
- 25:47Speaker 1: National Committee and Hillary Clinton paid for They knew when
- 25:50Speaker 1: they were trying to overthrow the world the people that
- 25:52Speaker 1: it was done on information they created out of thin air.
- 25:56Speaker 1: So if they're willing to do that, I think they're
- 25:59Speaker 1: more than willing to do exactly what you're describing right now,
- 26:02Speaker 1: which ten fifteen years ago would have been you would say,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I think unimaginable. Yet now I think this is their reality.
- 26:11Speaker 1: The Democrats their priority is staying in power. Everything else
- 26:15Speaker 1: as secondary. They care about staying in power. Notice the
- 26:18Speaker 1: legislative agenda that I said they'd passed if they end
- 26:21Speaker 1: the filibuster the corrupt politician. That act is to stop
- 26:24Speaker 1: voters from voting Democrats out of office. Making DC in
- 26:28Speaker 1: Puerto Rico States is to put more Democrats in the Senate.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Giving illegal aliens the right to vote is to elect
- 26:34Speaker 1: more Democrats. Packing the Supreme Court is to give them
- 26:37Speaker 1: control over all three branches of government. They believe in power,
- 26:42Speaker 1: they don't believe in democracy. One of the great ironies
- 26:46Speaker 1: just about every single attack the Democrats use on Republicans
- 26:51Speaker 1: is what in fact they are doing. And so listen.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I would ask the folks who listen to this podcast,
- 26:58Speaker 1: you guys are passionate believers in our country. You're standing
- 27:03Speaker 1: up and fighting. I know you're angry, you're demoralized, you're frustrated.
- 27:07Speaker 1: How did we blow this? I promise you that that
- 27:12Speaker 1: frustration is volcanic on my part. Two things I would
- 27:17Speaker 1: ask you to focus on. Number One, pick up the
- 27:20Speaker 1: phone and call your senator and get your senator. Every
- 27:24Speaker 1: Republican senator needs to hear from thousands upon thousands of
- 27:28Speaker 1: their constituents. Delay the leadership elections. Let's have real leaders
- 27:32Speaker 1: who actually stand and fight and deliver number two. Georgia
- 27:39Speaker 1: matters enormously, and if you are in Georgia, make sure
- 27:42Speaker 1: you turn out. Make sure you turn your friends out,
- 27:45Speaker 1: your family out. If you have friends and family in Georgia,
- 27:48Speaker 1: call them. It is about turnout. And then it's also
- 27:51Speaker 1: about fundraising. It's about supporting well. And that one's going
- 27:55Speaker 1: to be the last thing I was going to ask you,
- 27:56Speaker 1: which I think is probably the most important. Senator. Money
- 28:00Speaker 1: is going to be needed in Georgia, and Democrats are
- 28:03Speaker 1: now betting on Republicans and Conservatives being in essence demoralized
- 28:08Speaker 1: over what just happened to the point where they just
- 28:11Speaker 1: don't give. Democrats are fired up because they had one
- 28:15Speaker 1: hell of a midterm that they didn't expect. It's like
- 28:17Speaker 1: they've won the game in essence, right, come back out
- 28:21Speaker 1: of nowhere. They want this seat in Georgia, and they
- 28:25Speaker 1: think they can grab it, and they think they have
- 28:27Speaker 1: what they need to grab this seat, and they're going
- 28:30Speaker 1: to be able to raise a ton of money because
- 28:32Speaker 1: they feel like there's some sort of momentum here for them.
- 28:36Speaker 1: If Republicans don't give, we're gonna lose this thing because
- 28:41Speaker 1: we just get out. The money is out raised and
- 28:44Speaker 1: you already talked about that. I call it corruption the
- 28:47Speaker 1: Republican Party. I mean, do we have any indication that
- 28:50Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell's going to open up his purse strings and
- 28:52Speaker 1: give some real money to herschel Walker. Oh look, I'm
- 28:55Speaker 1: sure he will raise money and invest in the race.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But if you look at this last site, well, Mitch
- 29:00Speaker 1: McConnell pulled the money out of Arizona. We could have
- 29:03Speaker 1: won Arizona, We nearly won Arizona, and abandoning Blake Masters
- 29:07Speaker 1: was indefensible. Mitch, why will that happen? I got to
- 29:10Speaker 1: ask you, because everybody's going to say the same thing
- 29:13Speaker 1: I am right now. Explain to me, Senator, why in
- 29:16Speaker 1: a race where the polling showed that we had a
- 29:18Speaker 1: legitimate chance of winning there, why did he pull out
- 29:22Speaker 1: that money from Masters who desperately needed it? Because Masters
- 29:27Speaker 1: said he would vote against Mitch McConnell, and so Mitch
- 29:31Speaker 1: would rather be leader than have a Republican majority. If
- 29:36Speaker 1: there's a Republican who can win who's not going to
- 29:39Speaker 1: support Mitch, the truth of the matter is he'd rather
- 29:42Speaker 1: the Democrat win. So he pulled all the money out
- 29:44Speaker 1: of Arizona. He put nine million dollars into Alaska. And Alaska,
- 29:48Speaker 1: we've got an election between Lisa Murkowsky, a Republican, and
- 29:52Speaker 1: Kelly Shabaka, a Republican. One of the two is going
- 29:55Speaker 1: to win. Right now, Shabaka is leading in the polls.
- 30:00Speaker 1: She is endorsed by the Alaska Republican Party, but she
- 30:04Speaker 1: said she'd vote against Mitch, whereas Lisa Murkowski will vote
- 30:09Speaker 1: for Mitch. And so Mitch spent nine million dollars in
- 30:11Speaker 1: essentially the primary in Alaska. Now, it may be that
- 30:15Speaker 1: Murkowski wins because they have this weird ranked choice voting there,
- 30:19Speaker 1: so the Democrat got a handful of votes. Those Democrat
- 30:21Speaker 1: votes will be reassigned, and you have to assume all
- 30:24Speaker 1: the Democrats are going to vote for Lisa Murkowski, which
- 30:26Speaker 1: may give her the win. But nine million dollars in Alaska. Look,
- 30:31Speaker 1: Alaska has a very small population. Nine million dollars is
- 30:35Speaker 1: like setting off Adam bomb. Yeah, that was nine million
- 30:40Speaker 1: dollars that was not spent in Arizona. If that nine
- 30:43Speaker 1: million dollars have been spent in Arizona, Blake Masters probably
- 30:46Speaker 1: would have won and we wouldn't be on the road
- 30:48Speaker 1: to a Republican majority. But Mitch made a decision it's
- 30:54Speaker 1: more important to him to have Republicans who will back
- 30:57Speaker 1: him than it is to have fifty one Republicans. I
- 31:03Speaker 1: understand why. There's a certain selfishness that justifies that. It
- 31:06Speaker 1: just doesn't make any sense if you give a damn
- 31:08Speaker 1: about the country. Mitch also pulled all the money out
- 31:11Speaker 1: of New Hampshire Bulldock. Look he ended up losing by
- 31:14Speaker 1: a significant margin, but Maggie Hassan, the Democrat, was way
- 31:19Speaker 1: under fifty percent, was vulnerable and a big part of
- 31:22Speaker 1: the reason Bulldock lost as he got massively outspent and
- 31:25Speaker 1: had no resources. I think there needs to be a
- 31:29Speaker 1: real discussion about where dollars are invested. I think we
- 31:34Speaker 1: will see significant dollars invested in Georgia. But I'm worried
- 31:38Speaker 1: that people will be demoralized and say it doesn't matter.
- 31:42Speaker 1: And if you say it doesn't matter, that's how you
- 31:45Speaker 1: get fifty one Democrats. That's how they knuked the filibuster,
- 31:47Speaker 1: that's how they enact the republic ending changes that destroy
- 31:54Speaker 1: our democracy. And so I get that you're pissed, but
- 31:59Speaker 1: go to Team Herschel dot com. Teamherschel dot com teamherschel
- 32:02Speaker 1: dot com. Make a contribution. If you're in Georgia, show up, work,
- 32:07Speaker 1: let's win that seat. But also today, call your senators.
- 32:14Speaker 1: You gotta call your senators on that leadership vote. By
- 32:17Speaker 1: the way, do you know that the Democrats are voting
- 32:20Speaker 1: the first week of December? So the Democrats have the
- 32:23Speaker 1: sense to delay because they're like, gosh, Raphael Wardock got
- 32:26Speaker 1: to be able to vote. We shouldn't have a vote
- 32:29Speaker 1: till we know who's in the conference. That actually makes
- 32:31Speaker 1: enormous common sense. And yet the Republican leadership is like,
- 32:34Speaker 1: screw the voters. Doesn't matter who's in the conference, we're
- 32:38Speaker 1: voting now. It makes no sense other than as an
- 32:42Speaker 1: exercise of raw political power. And yet there are acolytes
- 32:49Speaker 1: of Mitch McConnell who are going on national television saying
- 32:54Speaker 1: vote for Mitch and let's vote now. I gotta say
- 32:57Speaker 1: I just disagree with that. It's it's truly indible. Make
- 33:00Speaker 1: those phone calls. Call your senator the switchboard two two
- 33:04Speaker 1: two one three one two one. You can also google
- 33:07Speaker 1: your sender's name directly online and get their number. But
- 33:10Speaker 1: you need to be calling your centers this week. Here
