Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Ted Cruz. Week in Review
- 0:04Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you, and this week there were some
- 0:07Speaker 1: major stories that you may have missed it.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I want to make sure you know about.
- 0:12Speaker 1: First up, in a shocking move, Biden and Harris have
- 0:16Speaker 1: expanded access for legal immigrants in Mexico trying to come
- 0:20Speaker 1: into the United States of America.
- 0:22Speaker 2: This as they lie and tell you. Now they want
- 0:24Speaker 2: a border wall.
- 0:25Speaker 1: And a secure border after claiming it was already secure.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We're going to break that down for you. Also, there
- 0:33Speaker 1: was an attack on Donald Trump at Arlington National Cemetery.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Now I'm talking about a political attack for him sitting
- 0:40Speaker 1: down to honor their loved ones that gave the ultimate
- 0:43Speaker 1: sacrifice for their country in the exit from Afghanistan. Well,
- 0:47Speaker 1: the gold Star families have come together to attack the
- 0:51Speaker 1: media and their lies.
- 0:52Speaker 2: We'll have that for you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And finally, CNN doing something we haven't seen in years,
- 0:58Speaker 1: holding Harris to a cat on her lies on the
- 1:02Speaker 1: border wall footage now using Trump's wall in her own
- 1:05Speaker 1: campaign ads. It's the weekend Review and it starts right now.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Centat.
- 1:11Speaker 1: We have had so much news that's been breaking, and
- 1:13Speaker 1: we've been covering it on the show, but there is
- 1:17Speaker 1: a story that it combines with a story from a
- 1:20Speaker 1: little over a week ago, and there was an announcement
- 1:24Speaker 1: that happened about a week ago that the US government,
- 1:26Speaker 1: specifically under Biden Harris, have decided to expand access to
- 1:31Speaker 1: the Customs and Border Patrol one application into southern Mexico.
- 1:37Speaker 2: So, in other words, we're.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Expanding a program to bring more immigrants into the United
- 1:43Speaker 1: States of America. This happening while Kamala is also making
- 1:49Speaker 1: a move to accelerate the overall invasion at our southern
- 1:54Speaker 1: border at the same time trying to act like she's
- 1:57Speaker 1: in favor of building a wall.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Understand, Joe Biden wants more illegal immigrants in America, Kamala
- 2:06Speaker 3: Harris wants more illegal immigrants in America. Just about every
- 2:11Speaker 3: single congressional Democrat and the Senate in the House, they
- 2:14Speaker 3: want more illegal immigrants in America. They are actively encouraging, facilitating,
- 2:21Speaker 3: and accelerating the invasion at our southern border. They look
- 2:25Speaker 3: at the eleven and a half million illegal immigrants that
- 2:27Speaker 3: they have invited into this country and they view them
- 2:30Speaker 3: as future Democrat voters. Even so, even with all of that,
- 2:34Speaker 3: the story that broke this week. But and by the way,
- 2:36Speaker 3: I'm sure you didn't see this on CNN. I'm sure
- 2:39Speaker 3: you didn't see this on ABCNBC or CBS. But let
- 2:42Speaker 3: me read a headline. And the headline actually is from
- 2:44Speaker 3: the AP quote Mexico offers escorted rides north from southern
- 2:53Speaker 3: Mexico for migrants with US asylum appointments.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And here's the article.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Mexico will offer u S escorted bus rides from southern
- 3:01Speaker 3: Mexico to the US border for non Mexican migrants who
- 3:04Speaker 3: have received a United States asylum appointment, the government announced Saturday.
- 3:09Speaker 3: The National Immigration Institute said the buses will leave from
- 3:11Speaker 3: the southern cities of Villa Hermosa and Dapachula. It appeared
- 3:18Speaker 3: to be an attempt to make applying for asylum appointments
- 3:21Speaker 3: from southern Mexico more attractive to migrants who otherwise would
- 3:26Speaker 3: push north to Mexico City or the border. And here's
- 3:30Speaker 3: the nut graph. The announcement came one week after the
- 3:37Speaker 3: US government expanded access to the CBP one application in
- 3:42Speaker 3: southern Mexico. Access to the app, which allows asylum seekers
- 3:46Speaker 3: to register and await an appointment, had previously been restricted
- 3:50Speaker 3: to central and northern Mexico. So now the government of
- 3:54Speaker 3: Mexico is actively aiding and assisting the human traffickers. They
- 3:58Speaker 3: will provide bus rides throughout Mexico along with armed escorts
- 4:07Speaker 3: from police and soldiers to bring illegal immigrants to the
- 4:11Speaker 3: border to invade this country. And they're doing this because
- 4:15Speaker 3: Kamala Harris wants them to do this. This is right
- 4:18Speaker 3: after by the way, Kamala Harris is claiming she's going
- 4:22Speaker 3: to secure the border, but they just change the C
- 4:25Speaker 3: one app to invite even more illegal aliens. They want
- 4:29Speaker 3: eleven and a half million to be twenty million, to
- 4:32Speaker 3: be thirty million, to be forty million, because in their view,
- 4:35Speaker 3: if that happens, Democrats win every election forever and ever.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You also look at at the idea that Kama Harris
- 4:42Speaker 1: now is trying to be tougher on the border, advocating
- 4:46Speaker 1: for policies that Donald Trump has had. This is just
- 4:50Speaker 1: look at what they actually do, look at what they're
- 4:53Speaker 1: actually saying, and then you understand the game plan. In fact,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I think part of so what Mexico's response here is, Hey,
- 5:02Speaker 1: they're hedging their bets, are they not?
- 5:04Speaker 2: That Donald Trump could win?
- 5:05Speaker 1: And then we can actually have go back to the
- 5:07Speaker 1: border conditions we had when he was the president. So
- 5:09Speaker 1: let's really accelerate and get as many people across the
- 5:13Speaker 1: border as we can. That seems to be their prerogative,
- 5:15Speaker 1: but it also seems that they're number one person that's
- 5:19Speaker 1: working to facilitate this is the Biden Heirs administration by
- 5:22Speaker 1: expanding this program, and they're going, hey, you expand it
- 5:25Speaker 1: and will pay for the bussing, We'll pay for the escorts,
- 5:29Speaker 1: will pay for the trip. This doesn't happen without the
- 5:32Speaker 1: two countries working hand in hand.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Am I wrong that they both have mutual interest?
- 5:38Speaker 3: M Low, the president of Mexico, wants as much illegal
- 5:42Speaker 3: immigration as possible to go into America, and Kamala Harris
- 5:46Speaker 3: wants as much illegal immigration as possible to go into America,
- 5:50Speaker 3: both for the same reason, which is to fundamentally shift
- 5:54Speaker 3: the policies of the United States of America and to
- 5:57Speaker 3: move them dramatically to the left.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Well, let's also remind people of what Kamala Harris said
- 6:02Speaker 1: during the twenty twenty presidential debate. This was technically in
- 6:07Speaker 1: twenty nineteen. Take a listen.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Being incarcerated for a couple of days is traumatic, much
- 6:12Speaker 4: less the weeks, months, and years that we're seeing that happen.
- 6:15Speaker 4: And so part of my plan is also a reduction
- 6:18Speaker 4: of that. And then also again what we need to
- 6:21Speaker 4: do about taking demilitarizing our schools and taking police officers
- 6:28Speaker 4: out of schools. We need to deal with the reality
- 6:32Speaker 4: and speak the truth about the inequities around school discipline.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I mean, this is a woman, and I play this
- 6:40Speaker 1: because I think it's an important point. She says she
- 6:42Speaker 1: wants to pull officers out of our schools. She wants
- 6:45Speaker 1: to have a wide open southern border. She doesn't believe
- 6:48Speaker 1: that illegal immigrants are criminals. This is a defund the
- 6:52Speaker 1: police at woman who says wide open.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Borders, no law and order anywhere.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Whether it's our schools or the border or illegal coming across,
- 7:01Speaker 1: it doesn't matter.
- 7:02Speaker 2: This is what she's in favor of.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And by the way, it is difficult to imagine a
- 7:07Speaker 3: policy that would endanger children more than pulling police officers
- 7:12Speaker 3: out of schools. Look, you and I are both parents.
- 7:15Speaker 3: We certainly don't want our kids like like we would
- 7:17Speaker 3: like police officers protecting our children, protecting schools, keeping kids safe.
- 7:23Speaker 3: That the number one way you prevent someone from committing
- 7:27Speaker 3: an act of violence is you have a police officer
- 7:29Speaker 3: there to protect them.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And yet, to the.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Radical left, if we just take all the cops away,
- 7:36Speaker 3: then suddenly give piece of chance violence goes away.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That's that's truly radical. Yeah.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Over the holiday weekend, there was also a story, and
- 7:44Speaker 1: it's sad because it had to be broken basically outside
- 7:47Speaker 1: the US with the Daily Mail of a migrant gang
- 7:50Speaker 1: that took over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. This
- 7:55Speaker 1: is Venezuela and migrant gang that took over the apartment complex,
- 7:59Speaker 1: intering that it was Venezuela and migrant gang that did this,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and the video that we witness that went viral on
- 8:05Speaker 1: social media, them knocking on doors with guns.
- 8:08Speaker 2: These are few others aren't supposed to have guns.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And then if you go back just a few weeks ago,
- 8:13Speaker 1: there was warnings that in Venezuela they had started to
- 8:17Speaker 1: empty out some of their prisons as long as the
- 8:19Speaker 1: people they were letting out decided to go to America.
- 8:23Speaker 1: So hey, we'll let you out of our system being
- 8:25Speaker 1: a drain on us, but you can't stay in Venezuela.
- 8:27Speaker 1: You got to go to another country and sure enough
- 8:30Speaker 1: their consequences for allowing the members of society that are
- 8:34Speaker 1: in prison in another country to come to America and
- 8:37Speaker 1: think that they're going.
- 8:37Speaker 2: To be law abiding citizens. The Daily Mail helped expose
- 8:40Speaker 2: a lot of this well.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Maduro, I believe is absolutely doing that. He is deliberately
- 8:46Speaker 3: sending criminals to the United States. He's sending murderers and
- 8:49Speaker 3: rapists and child molesters, He's sending gang members. And it's
- 8:53Speaker 3: the same thing Fidel Castro did in the Mario boat
- 8:55Speaker 3: lift coming from Cuba, where he emptied out his jails,
- 8:58Speaker 3: and he emptied out his lunatic asylums, and he sent
- 9:00Speaker 3: dangerous people to the United States. These are enemies of
- 9:03Speaker 3: America that want to undermine America. The question you have
- 9:07Speaker 3: to ask yourself is why is Kamala Harris aligned with them?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Why does Kamala Harris when they send Venezuelan murderers to
- 9:15Speaker 3: America and the Biden Harris administration has them in custody,
- 9:20Speaker 3: why does Kamala Harris release the murderers? And I think
- 9:28Speaker 3: there's no more important question in this election than that question.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You mentioned a moment ago center that the media doesn't
- 9:35Speaker 1: like to cover these stories that are affecting Americans. I
- 9:38Speaker 1: want to end with this one, and it was a
- 9:41Speaker 1: group of illegal immigrants in San Diego County, California that
- 9:47Speaker 1: actually tried to hijack not one, but two school buses
- 9:52Speaker 1: full of elementary and middle school students. The local media,
- 9:58Speaker 1: not the national media, covered this story. Here's what they said.
- 10:02Speaker 5: A group of migrants tried to board a school bus
- 10:05Speaker 5: this morning while it was traveling to a school. The
- 10:07Speaker 5: superintendent for the Humul Delsurra Union School District informed parents
- 10:11Speaker 5: of that incident earlier today. It happened at one of
- 10:14Speaker 5: the stops on the school district's bus route that heads
- 10:17Speaker 5: to Oak Grove Middle School and Homul Primary. Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon,
- 10:21Speaker 5: in a similar area along another route, the superintendent says
- 10:25Speaker 5: that a group of migrants tried to stop another bus.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Border Patrol CCHP in the Sheriff's office have now been
- 10:31Speaker 5: informed of these incidents. The superintendent says that for the
- 10:34Speaker 5: safety of everyone, if a driver sees a group of
- 10:37Speaker 5: migrants at a bus stop, they will drive past it
- 10:40Speaker 5: on and move on to the.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Next This is a story that should be national news.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's sad that we're the ones that are having to
- 10:49Speaker 1: turn it into national news center. But I don't want
- 10:52Speaker 1: to live in a world where we got to have
- 10:54Speaker 1: armed guards on every school bus because the legal immigrants
- 10:56Speaker 1: might tie to take over a school bus for whatever
- 10:59Speaker 1: they're in.
- 10:59Speaker 2: The favarious reason may.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Be, Look, our families are in danger because Kamala Harris
- 11:08Speaker 3: and Joe Biden and congressional Democrats have chosen to allow
- 11:13Speaker 3: violent criminals into this country eleven and a half million people.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It is a profound threat to public safety.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I mean, at some.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Point you can't make it up. Trying to kidnap school
- 11:25Speaker 3: buses full of school kids. That is, it underscores the
- 11:33Speaker 3: level of the threat. And it also underscores Look, as
- 11:38Speaker 3: you noted, the national media completely ignores the threat.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:45Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:47Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, Senata.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I also want to talk about another story, and it
- 11:56Speaker 1: may be one of the most pathetic, vile attacks that
- 12:01Speaker 1: we have seen from the Harris campaign so far. And
- 12:05Speaker 1: it was a fake story, a fictitious story that was
- 12:10Speaker 1: clearly I think drawn up a play by the Harris
- 12:14Speaker 1: campaign to, hey, let's make people not like Donald Trump.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Let's attack Donald Trump for standing at Arlington Cemetery with
- 12:23Speaker 1: the family members of those that lost loved ones on
- 12:26Speaker 1: the pullout from Afghanistan, on that arbitrary date that Joe
- 12:31Speaker 1: Biden and Kamala Harris wanted to say, we ended America's
- 12:34Speaker 1: longest roar. We don't care and when we're pulling out,
- 12:36Speaker 1: who dies or how many people that helped America are
- 12:39Speaker 1: left behind to be attacked and tortured by the terrorists.
- 12:42Speaker 1: We were literally taking orders from the Taliban at the
- 12:44Speaker 1: very end. And Afghanistan gold Star family members have come
- 12:49Speaker 1: forward united in an incredible way, and I think it's
- 12:53Speaker 1: sad that they had to come forward. They just wanted
- 12:56Speaker 1: to honor their loved ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice
- 13:00Speaker 1: for their country. They asked Donald Trump to come and
- 13:04Speaker 1: be with them. The Harris campaign accused Donald Trump in
- 13:08Speaker 1: a direct tweet that Kamlayer's put out of using this
- 13:12Speaker 1: as a basically a publicity stunt, and these gold Star
- 13:18Speaker 1: families came forward and said, no, that's not true. We're
- 13:21Speaker 1: not going to let you do this to Donald Trump.
- 13:23Speaker 1: We're not going to allow the media to do this
- 13:25Speaker 1: and drag him through the mud. He was our guest.
- 13:28Speaker 1: We asked him to come. This was not a Publissy's sun.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And not only that, they said he knows our family members' names.
- 13:36Speaker 1: That's more than we can say for you, Kamwa, who
- 13:38Speaker 1: have not talked to us, don't know our kids' names,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and have not reached out.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Well, I have to say this whole thing has been
- 13:46Speaker 3: utterly disgraceful how Kamala Harris and her campaign has handed
- 13:49Speaker 3: handled it. It started with Donald Trump went to Arlington
- 13:53Speaker 3: Memorial Cemetery to honor the thirteen servicemen and women who
- 13:58Speaker 3: were murdered who were murdered in Afghanistan. He went and
- 14:00Speaker 3: lay a wreath at their tombs to honor their death.
- 14:05Speaker 3: And he did so at the invitation of the gold
- 14:07Speaker 3: Star families who wanted him there. They also invited Kamala Harris.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Kamala Harris declined to come. Kamala Harris was in DC,
- 14:14Speaker 3: she was at a residence, she was just a few
- 14:16Speaker 3: miles away, but she was not willing to come to
- 14:18Speaker 3: Arlington Cemetery to acknowledge their deaths. And to be clear,
- 14:22Speaker 3: that's consistent with the pattern of Kamala Harris and Joe
- 14:24Speaker 3: Biden of ignoring these thirteen fallist servicemen and women. In fact,
- 14:30Speaker 3: Joe Biden claimed that no servicemen and women had fallen
- 14:33Speaker 3: under under his presidency, which is just a brazen lie.
- 14:38Speaker 3: And so instead of look, Kamala kan't defend the absolute incompetence,
- 14:45Speaker 3: the disaster that was the withdrawal from Afghanistan. So she
- 14:49Speaker 3: wants to change the subject. And so she immediately blasted
- 14:53Speaker 3: Trump because while he was there, he took photographs with
- 14:57Speaker 3: the families of the fallen servicemen and women, and he
- 15:01Speaker 3: did so at their request. And she tried to say,
- 15:04Speaker 3: this is a political stunt because he took photographs with
- 15:06Speaker 3: the families. Now, to be clear, the families asked him
- 15:09Speaker 3: to take photographs. I guess in her view, you should
- 15:12Speaker 3: tell the grieving mother of a soldier who was killed, no,
- 15:18Speaker 3: I'm not willing to take a picture with you. That
- 15:20Speaker 3: would have been insane. In response, families of seven of
- 15:26Speaker 3: the thirteen fallen servicemen and women put out a joint statement.
- 15:30Speaker 3: And this joint statement powerful doesn't begin to cover.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Let me just read it. It's not very long. Quote.
- 15:37Speaker 3: We the families of the brave service members who were
- 15:40Speaker 3: tragically killed in the Abbey Gate bombing are appalled by
- 15:44Speaker 3: Vice President Kamala Harris's recent attempts to politicize President Trump's
- 15:49Speaker 3: visit to the Arlington National Cemetery. President Trump was invited
- 15:53Speaker 3: by US the gold Star Families to attend the solemn
- 15:57Speaker 3: ceremonies commemorating the three year anniversary of our children's death.
- 16:02Speaker 3: He was there to honor their sacrifice. Yet Vice President
- 16:06Speaker 3: Harris has disgracefully twisted this sacred moment into a political ploy.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Vice President Harris bears responsibility for the deaths of our
- 16:16Speaker 3: sons and daughters. Let me read that again. Vice President
- 16:20Speaker 3: Harris bears responsibility for the deaths of our sons and daughters.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Her administration's catastrophic mishandling of the Afghanistan withdraw directly led
- 16:34Speaker 3: to the murder of thirteen service members, including our children.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Despite our multiple requests for a meeting to discuss the
- 16:44Speaker 3: loss of our loved ones, Vice President Harris has repeatedly
- 16:48Speaker 3: ignored us, showing a complete lack of empathy and accountability.
- 16:54Speaker 3: This refusal to face the consequences of her administration's decisions
- 16:59Speaker 3: is a deep betrayal to us as gold Star families.
- 17:04Speaker 3: President Trump, on the other hand, has been the only
- 17:07Speaker 3: commander in chief to consistently recognize the heroism of our children.
- 17:13Speaker 3: His attendance at Arlington was not for political gain, but
- 17:17Speaker 3: to stand with us, to grieve with us, and to
- 17:20Speaker 3: honor the legacy of those who gave everything for this nation.
- 17:25Speaker 3: His leadership during his time in office was strong, and
- 17:29Speaker 3: we have no doubt that if he were still commander
- 17:32Speaker 3: in chief, our children would be alive today. Vice President
- 17:37Speaker 3: Harris has proven herself unfit to serve as commander in chief.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Her actions, both in the failure of the Afghanistan withdrawal
- 17:48Speaker 3: and in her disgraceful politicization of this anniversary have shown
- 17:53Speaker 3: that she lacks the judgment, compassion, and leadership required for
- 17:58Speaker 3: the position. We will continue to hold her accountable for
- 18:02Speaker 3: the role she played in the deaths of our children,
- 18:06Speaker 3: and we will not stand by as she disrespects their memory.
- 18:11Speaker 3: America deserves better, Our children deserved better.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You see, these families come together, and this is not
- 18:21Speaker 1: a fight they asked for. This was not publicity they
- 18:24Speaker 1: asked for, This was not a moment they asked for.
- 18:26Speaker 1: These gold Star families have also now come out saying
- 18:29Speaker 1: that Kamala's attack on Trump made us a target for
- 18:32Speaker 1: a lot of hate. They weren't wanting this hate and
- 18:37Speaker 1: all because when you're the vice president, your words have power.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And when you have Vice President Harris, who's the leading
- 18:47Speaker 1: candidate right for the Democratic Private by the way, no
- 18:49Speaker 1: one's ever voted for, but she's a nominee attacking and Trump,
- 18:53Speaker 1: accusing him of playing politics by going to a cemetery
- 18:56Speaker 1: to honor the thirteen fallen service members who lost their
- 18:59Speaker 1: lives as a result as you just read there Biden's
- 19:03Speaker 1: administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. But they say, yes, this
- 19:10Speaker 1: has made us a target of a lot of hate
- 19:13Speaker 1: because now people are hating them for defending Trump, saying, oh, well,
- 19:18Speaker 1: they're just Trump supporters, you know, the heck with them,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and attacking them on social media, all because they were
- 19:24Speaker 1: trying to honor the memory of their sons and daughters,
- 19:28Speaker 1: their husbands and their wives, their family members that were killed.
- 19:33Speaker 2: And Vice President Harris.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I think it's important to read part of what she
- 19:37Speaker 1: put out on x which started all of this, and
- 19:40Speaker 1: clearly this is my opinion. I want to know what
- 19:43Speaker 1: you think about this, Senator. I think this was written
- 19:45Speaker 1: by a campaign staff who said, let's start this thing.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And she said quote as Vice President, I've had the
- 19:52Speaker 1: privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is
- 19:56Speaker 1: a solemn place, a place where we come together to
- 19:58Speaker 1: honor American heroes made the ultimate sacrifice in service.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Of this nation. It is not a place for politics.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And yet, as we reported this week, Donald Trump's team
- 20:11Speaker 1: chose to film a video there, resulting in an altercation
- 20:15Speaker 1: with cemetery staff that apparently never happened. Let me be clear,
- 20:19Speaker 1: she writes to former President, disrespected sacred ground, all for
- 20:24Speaker 1: the sake of a political stunt. So a woman who
- 20:27Speaker 1: says this is not supposed to be about politics literally
- 20:30Speaker 1: makes it a political stunt on her behalf to try
- 20:34Speaker 1: to make people hate Donald Trump, which then in turn
- 20:37Speaker 1: brought in these families and now they're hating on them
- 20:40Speaker 1: as well.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Look, this was just a cynical attempt from the Kamala
- 20:44Speaker 3: Harris campaign to shift the attention to one of the
- 20:48Speaker 3: most egregious and catastrophic foreign policy failures of Joe Biden
- 20:54Speaker 3: and her leadership. And this is a failure that led
- 20:57Speaker 3: directly to the deaths of thirteen servicemen and women. And
- 21:01Speaker 3: let me make Claire that joint statement that I read
- 21:03Speaker 3: a minute ago, it didn't just come from one or
- 21:06Speaker 3: two family members. It came from Misty Fioka, who is
- 21:11Speaker 3: the sister of Sergeant Nicole Lg. It came from Cheryl Jules,
- 21:16Speaker 3: who is the aunt of Sergeant Nicole Lg. It came
- 21:20Speaker 3: from Christy Shamblin, who is the mother in law of
- 21:23Speaker 3: Sergeant Nicole Lg. It came from Mark Schmitz, who is
- 21:27Speaker 3: the father of Lance Corporal Jared M. Schmidz. It came
- 21:31Speaker 3: from Jacqueline Schmidz, who is the stepmother of Lance Corporal
- 21:34Speaker 3: Jared M. Schmidz. It came from Hermit Lopez, who is
- 21:38Speaker 3: the father of Corporal Hunter Lopez. It came from Jim McCullum,
- 21:43Speaker 3: who is the father of Lance Corporal Riley J.
- 21:46Speaker 2: McCullum.
- 21:48Speaker 3: It came from Steve Nicooey, who is the father of
- 21:52Speaker 3: Lance Corporal Kareem M. Nicoey. It came from Coral Doolittle,
- 21:57Speaker 3: who is the mother of Corporal Humberto A. Sanchez. It
- 22:03Speaker 3: came from Darren Hoover, who is the father of Staff's
- 22:06Speaker 3: Sergeant Darren T. Hoover, and it came from Kelly Barnett,
- 22:11Speaker 3: who is the mother of Staff's Sergeant Daran T.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Hoover.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Now you want to talk about people who have moral gravity,
- 22:19Speaker 3: They've given the ultimate sacrifice of their own children who died.
- 22:26Speaker 3: And yet you know what they also have said. So
- 22:30Speaker 3: Christy Shamblin, who was one of the people who signed it,
- 22:34Speaker 3: she is the mother in law of Sergeant Nicole lg.
- 22:37Speaker 3: She has said that Kamala Harris's behavior shows that she
- 22:43Speaker 3: believes quote, service members are disposable, and it is striking.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Here's what she said. She said, quote, I think it
- 22:56Speaker 3: shows that she believes our service members are disposable. And
- 23:00Speaker 3: that's exactly the feeling that we've got from the White
- 23:02Speaker 3: House is that our heroes, our children, my daughter in
- 23:07Speaker 3: law was disposable and replaceable and not important. And I
- 23:13Speaker 3: can't live with that. It's not acceptable. Our service members
- 23:17Speaker 3: are the most important people in our society. And Nakoui,
- 23:23Speaker 3: another one of the gold Star Family members, said, not
- 23:27Speaker 3: hearing from Harris is quote just typical from this whole administration.
- 23:33Speaker 3: You know, they want to sweep this under the rug.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Never talk about it again. Never honest. For them to
- 23:38Speaker 3: honor and recognize the sacrifice of our children would force
- 23:42Speaker 3: them to recognize that there was a mistake. And so
- 23:45Speaker 3: they won't bring it up. You know, they'll keep it
- 23:48Speaker 3: under the rug, and we're I'm pretty much used to it,
- 23:51Speaker 3: but I'm gonna fight it, you know, I'm going to
- 23:54Speaker 3: call that out every step of the way. And McCullum
- 24:00Speaker 3: added that Harris utterly ignored them, never gave them a call.
- 24:04Speaker 3: And here's what McCullum said, quote complete lack thereof to
- 24:09Speaker 3: just abandon the thirteen, to never reach out, no condolences,
- 24:15Speaker 3: no I'm sorry, no explanation, just absolutely ignore us and
- 24:20Speaker 3: basically shut us up. She's lacking character, she has no respect.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Wow.
- 24:28Speaker 1: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 24:30Speaker 1: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 24:32Speaker 1: dow the podcast from earlier this week to hear the
- 24:35Speaker 1: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 24:39Speaker 1: story number three of the week. You may have missed Center.
- 24:42Speaker 1: There was also something else that happened and it was
- 24:45Speaker 1: just weird. When I say weird, like a next level
- 24:49Speaker 1: weird CNN. And I've got two theories. I want your
- 24:53Speaker 1: take on this, came out and did a three and
- 24:56Speaker 1: a half minute segment attacking Jamala Harrison primetime, attacking her
- 25:03Speaker 1: for using Trump's wall in her new border ads. They
- 25:07Speaker 1: actually went back years, all the way back to twenty seventeen,
- 25:12Speaker 1: and they were proud of themselves, patting themselves on their
- 25:15Speaker 1: back for finding more than fifty instances of Harris slamming
- 25:19Speaker 1: Trump's border wall, and they put this story together. Now
- 25:23Speaker 1: I want to play it, but there's two things here
- 25:25Speaker 1: that I think could be a possibility. A CNN has
- 25:29Speaker 1: become so irrelevant with no one watching and the ratings
- 25:31Speaker 1: back up that point that they're desperate to get their
- 25:35Speaker 1: ratings back. Having Trump in office delivers that to them.
- 25:40Speaker 1: The highest ratings that CNN's had in years was when
- 25:42Speaker 1: Donald Trump was in office and they were attacking him
- 25:44Speaker 1: twenty four to seven, and that brought the crazies end
- 25:47Speaker 1: to watch them. That's option number one. Option number two
- 25:52Speaker 1: is are they doing this center because they're realizing that
- 25:56Speaker 1: Harris and this big bump she was supposed to have
- 25:58Speaker 1: for the convention didn't actually happened.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Are they hedging their beds?
- 26:03Speaker 1: They think she might lose and so they want to
- 26:05Speaker 1: look like they're actual journalists, or could.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Both of those be true at the same time.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Well, let's play this first, because it really is a
- 26:14Speaker 3: stunning piece, and it simply takes the fact that she's
- 26:17Speaker 3: spending millions of dollars advertising and featuring the border wall
- 26:21Speaker 3: as something she now supports, and it contrasts that with
- 26:24Speaker 3: her record for years and years and years viciously, passionately
- 26:29Speaker 3: emphatically opposing the border wall. And I'll tell you the
- 26:33Speaker 3: contrast is striking. Give a listen, and remember this is CNN.
- 26:38Speaker 6: Tonight, K File investigates in a new report you'll see
- 26:41Speaker 6: first out Front. The K File team scoured Kamala Harris's
- 26:45Speaker 6: tweets and statements going all the way back to twenty seventeen,
- 26:48Speaker 6: and what they found was more than fifty instances of
- 26:52Speaker 6: Harris slamming Trump's border wall. But now new Harris campaign
- 26:57Speaker 6: ads actually showcase that very wall.
- 27:01Speaker 3: As a border state prosecutor, she took on drug cartels
- 27:05Speaker 3: and jail gang members for smuggling weapons and drugs across
- 27:08Speaker 3: the border.
- 27:09Speaker 6: And on top of critical tweets, Harris also wrote in
- 27:13Speaker 6: her twenty nineteen book quote, there was a bigger reason
- 27:16Speaker 6: to oppose the border wall.
- 27:17Speaker 2: A useless wall on.
- 27:18Speaker 6: The southern border would be nothing more than a symbol,
- 27:20Speaker 6: a monument standing in opposition to not just everything I value,
- 27:23Speaker 6: but to the fundamental values upon which this country was built.
- 27:26Speaker 6: How could I vote to build what would be little
- 27:29Speaker 6: more than a monument designed to send the cold, hard
- 27:31Speaker 6: message keep out well p files Andre Kaczinski joins me. Now, so, Andrew,
- 27:36Speaker 6: I mean you and you all have gone through, I mean,
- 27:40Speaker 6: scoured an incredible amount of material. Tell me more about
- 27:43Speaker 6: what you found.
- 27:44Speaker 7: Yeah, that's right. We found more than fifty of those
- 27:46Speaker 7: those tweets criticizing the border wall before she used that
- 27:49Speaker 7: in her ad, and I want people to take a
- 27:51Speaker 7: look at just a few of what she said here.
- 27:54Speaker 7: She called it wasteful, useless, a waste of taxpayer money,
- 27:58Speaker 7: a vanity wall project, a wasteful border wall, a stupid wall,
- 28:03Speaker 7: a medieval vanity project, and an unnecessary wall. And those
- 28:07Speaker 7: are really just I mean, there were more of It
- 28:09Speaker 7: was just like ten or fifty, but there was really
- 28:12Speaker 7: there was really a lot of. This was the common
- 28:14Speaker 7: refrain during the campaign. You read that quote where she
- 28:16Speaker 7: said it was against everything that not only she stood
- 28:18Speaker 7: for everything, America stood aborder. But and she brought this
- 28:22Speaker 7: up a lot. Take a listen to just one instance
- 28:25Speaker 7: of that in twenty nineteen.
- 28:28Speaker 4: It's the president's vanity project, his multi billion dollar vanity
- 28:32Speaker 4: project called a wall, is nothing more than a distraction
- 28:37Speaker 4: from the fact that he actually has it focused on
- 28:39Speaker 4: working people in America. He contrived in national crisis around
- 28:47Speaker 4: his big distraction.
- 28:49Speaker 6: All right, so you go through all of that, You've
- 28:51Speaker 6: got all the tweets, and yet all of a sudden,
- 28:53Speaker 6: in the ads there's.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Pictures of the wall.
- 28:55Speaker 6: And then you went through to look at that wall, like,
- 28:57Speaker 6: what is that specific wall that's in her her campaign ads?
- 29:01Speaker 4: Now?
- 29:01Speaker 6: And you found something very interesting about this specific portion
- 29:04Speaker 6: of the wall.
- 29:05Speaker 7: And what's I think what's also really remarkable at this is,
- 29:07Speaker 7: like I mean, you heard her talking about it. There
- 29:09Speaker 7: the Trump's wall in his campaign. During his presidency, there
- 29:12Speaker 7: was really no greater symbol of Trump's presidency than the
- 29:15Speaker 7: wall in the way that Democrats were attacking him over
- 29:17Speaker 7: the wall and his restrictive immigration policies. So we looked
- 29:20Speaker 7: in that ad and if you look at it, that
- 29:23Speaker 7: exact area of wall is in Sasabe or Sasabe Arizona,
- 29:27Speaker 7: and that is a portion of wall that was actually
- 29:29Speaker 7: built by Donald Trump. It was built in an area
- 29:33Speaker 7: where there was not previous wall. Its actually pretty controversial
- 29:36Speaker 7: when they were building it at the time. So just
- 29:39Speaker 7: to see that, and then there are others he.
- 29:41Speaker 6: Was using his wall that he built to say look
- 29:43Speaker 6: at what I did basically.
- 29:45Speaker 7: And the other images of the wall we weren't able
- 29:48Speaker 7: to pinpoint, but there's there's telltale signs that that was
- 29:50Speaker 7: a Trump wall because there's an anti climbing plate on
- 29:53Speaker 7: top that became popularized during the Trump years.
- 29:56Speaker 6: It's really incredible reporting and important, right, Andrew Krisinski in
- 30:00Speaker 6: K file, Thank you very much.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Now there's also another theory center, and that could be
- 30:04Speaker 1: they were just.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Hold on before the theories, before the theories. I do
- 30:08Speaker 3: want to take the very end the comment. It's really
- 30:10Speaker 3: incredible reporting. So actually, no, it's not. It's not incredible
- 30:15Speaker 3: reporting to say one nominee for president is spending millions
- 30:22Speaker 3: of dollars running ads claiming to support something that she
- 30:26Speaker 3: spent her entire entire professional career denouncing over and over
- 30:31Speaker 3: and over and again. Like, that's not incredible reporting. That's
- 30:35Speaker 3: called just actually doing your job that that is, in fact,
- 30:38Speaker 3: what reporters are supposed to do. And this is a
- 30:42Speaker 3: story that illustrates that her campaign is built on deception,
- 30:46Speaker 3: it's built online. Understand this goes back to why is
- 30:51Speaker 3: it in the six weeks since Kamala Harris became the
- 30:54Speaker 3: presumptive Democrat nominee, she's done precisely one media interview, actually
- 30:58Speaker 3: with CNN, the fake interview she did with Dana Bash
- 31:02Speaker 3: that we broke down. If you didn't listen to the
- 31:04Speaker 3: podcast analyzing the Dana Bash interview, you ought to because
- 31:06Speaker 3: it was not an interview, it was a campaign commercial
- 31:09Speaker 3: that protected her. But other than that, she's done no
- 31:15Speaker 3: media interviews. She's done zero press conferences. And it's because
- 31:19Speaker 3: her strategy is to hide from everything she's ever said,
- 31:23Speaker 3: everything she's ever done, every vote she's ever cast, to
- 31:27Speaker 3: hide from her record and instead to claim to claim
- 31:33Speaker 3: that she supports things she does not support. Now listen,
- 31:36Speaker 3: her left wing supporters are not upset that she is
- 31:41Speaker 3: running ads picturing the border wall. Why because they.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Know she's lying.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Everyone knows she's lying, but CNN called her out and
- 31:50Speaker 3: and it that is in fact the job of journalism
- 31:54Speaker 3: to call people out when their record is directly contrary
- 31:59Speaker 3: to what they're saying the campaign trail.
- 32:02Speaker 1: You look at the CNN interview that you mentioned, and
- 32:04Speaker 1: that was my third. My third possibility is it really
- 32:09Speaker 1: seemed to do some damage to CNN. They were embarrassed
- 32:13Speaker 1: at how much they were called out for just propaganda
- 32:17Speaker 1: that night, even from putting live. You and I talked
- 32:20Speaker 1: about this putting up live on the screen when the
- 32:24Speaker 1: interview was taped.
- 32:26Speaker 3: So let me tell me something, Ben, so Ben, you
- 32:29Speaker 3: spent a lot of years as a paid CNN employee.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Yes, seven years in hell, so what I call it?
- 32:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you said they were embarrassed. Do you think they
- 32:38Speaker 3: actually were embarrassed. I'm not sure they can be embarrassed.
- 32:41Speaker 3: I'm actually curious about your thoughts on this.
- 32:43Speaker 1: So I actually think they were because they were just ridiculed.
- 32:47Speaker 1: It was daylight outside, it was primetime at night when
- 32:50Speaker 1: they aired it. It was obvious that it wasn't live.
- 32:54Speaker 1: And when you do something that egregious, I think even
- 32:58Speaker 1: people that are left of center are like, come on,
- 33:03Speaker 1: like really, like you think we're dumb enough to believe
- 33:06Speaker 1: that it's daytime right now while we're watching it at
- 33:09Speaker 1: night time and we're dumb enough to believe that it's live,
- 33:11Speaker 1: and we've already we already know it's been taped, and
- 33:14Speaker 1: it's been well publicized it was taped.
- 33:16Speaker 2: But I also think the other.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Part that hurt them and embarrass them was the interview
- 33:20Speaker 1: was incredibly short compared to what normal interviews of this
- 33:24Speaker 1: magnitude are. I mean, you look at the town hall
- 33:27Speaker 1: last night that happened with Trump and Hannity. I mean,
- 33:31Speaker 1: it's solid hour plus on these things, and her interview
- 33:35Speaker 1: taped edited in the daytime, and then you know, claiming
- 33:39Speaker 1: it's live at night. I think that that is a
- 33:42Speaker 1: point where they're like, Okay, maybe we have to bring
- 33:44Speaker 1: the pendulum back here a little bit because we look
- 33:46Speaker 1: so much like we are a mouthpiece for a campaign,
- 33:49Speaker 1: and if she loses, that puts us in a really
- 33:52Speaker 1: bad situation.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Look, that's possible. And you asked a minute ago if
- 33:56Speaker 3: they're trying to cover their bases, you know, I actually
- 34:00Speaker 3: you know, I'm I'm a believer in Occham's razor that
- 34:03Speaker 3: sometimes the simplest explanation is is the best. I actually
- 34:07Speaker 3: think in this instance, the dissonance, the the the contrast
- 34:12Speaker 3: between what Kamala Harris is campaigning on and what she
- 34:17Speaker 3: has said for her entire career. It is so massive
- 34:24Speaker 3: that I think they just ended up saying, all right,
- 34:27Speaker 3: let's let's say it. I actually think, even though they're propagandists,
- 34:31Speaker 3: it to see her embracing Trump's border wall is a
- 34:40Speaker 3: level at which, you know, I asked a minute ago
- 34:42Speaker 3: if they could get embarrassed. I think for a brief
- 34:45Speaker 3: moment in time, they actually wanted to be journalists. And
- 34:50Speaker 3: and and and I have a and and By the way,
- 34:53Speaker 3: let's be clear, this is a remarkable podcast and maybe
- 34:55Speaker 3: the only podcast we've ever done where twice now I
- 34:59Speaker 3: praise CNN.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I praise CNN at the beginning.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Of the podcast for Jake Tapper's question of Kamala Harris.
- 35:05Speaker 3: That was a real question. It was a good question, Jake.
- 35:08Speaker 3: It was a question a journalist would and should ask
- 35:12Speaker 3: and listen this story, this story is a question a
- 35:16Speaker 3: journalist would and should cover. By the way, has ABC
- 35:19Speaker 3: run the story? No, NBC, CBS, MSNBC Nope, Like wait
- 35:26Speaker 3: that they say their journalist, I mean CNN doesn't have
- 35:29Speaker 3: it exclusive. Do you think MSNBC knows that she's lying
- 35:35Speaker 3: when she runs an ad saying look at this border wall.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Well look, there's also another possibility that you and I
- 35:41Speaker 1: have been having this discussion. It could be this is
- 35:43Speaker 1: their way of slapping com on the hand for not
- 35:46Speaker 1: being radical enough, like no, no, no, we don't go to
- 35:49Speaker 1: border wall, and if you do it, we're gonna embarrass you.
- 35:52Speaker 2: You're supposed to You're supposed to hate the border wall.
- 35:55Speaker 2: That's who you are.
- 35:56Speaker 1: We're gonna remind you of who you are, and we're
- 35:59Speaker 1: gonna make you look bad when you when you pander
- 36:01Speaker 1: this way on an issue we disagree with that. That
- 36:03Speaker 1: also could be part of what the executive producers at
- 36:07Speaker 1: CNN were so mad about.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah look, maybe you know I years ago one of
- 36:14Speaker 3: my very first bosses, uh had had a bit of
- 36:17Speaker 3: advice for me that I think was really insightful, and
- 36:19Speaker 3: it was about government and it was never ascribed to malice.
- 36:24Speaker 3: What can be explained with incompetence in this instance, at
- 36:29Speaker 3: least to me, I'm not reading a whole lot of
- 36:32Speaker 3: machiavellian uh you know positioning in CNN doing this. I
- 36:39Speaker 3: think it was just there were like, holy crap, this
- 36:42Speaker 3: is BS. I hope that is. I mean that's actually
- 36:48Speaker 3: a human instinct, and it is an instinct of journalists
- 36:52Speaker 3: is supposed to have.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Now, maybe I'm being naive.
- 36:54Speaker 3: I mean, Ben, maybe you're you're more cynical than I
- 36:57Speaker 3: am on this, and maybe I'm not cynical enough.
- 37:00Speaker 1: But wait, I would say this way. I wish that
- 37:04Speaker 1: I thought the way you thought on this. I just
- 37:07Speaker 1: think this is too big of a one to eighty
- 37:09Speaker 1: from them sucking up to Kamala Harris a week ago.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Like it's like what depends, yes, But to be clear,
- 37:16Speaker 2: it is different. Okay, it is different. Listen. One of
- 37:20Speaker 2: the reasons that we didn't talk about this, I think.
- 37:24Speaker 3: In in our podcast analyzing the Dana Bash fake interview.
- 37:29Speaker 3: But I do think a component is CNN desperately wanted
- 37:35Speaker 3: that interview, Like the Kamala Harris campaign put it out there, Hey,
- 37:39Speaker 3: we're going to do an interview with someone, and we
- 37:42Speaker 3: want to see who will kiss our ass the most.
- 37:44Speaker 3: If you're just doing it a little, no, that's not enough.
- 37:47Speaker 3: We want both lips full pucker. We want enthusiasm. And
- 37:52Speaker 3: I do think there was a level of just corporate
- 37:55Speaker 3: servility that we want this interview and we will abase ourselves.
- 38:01Speaker 3: We will abandon any pretense of journalistic ethics. We'll do
- 38:07Speaker 3: anything we can to get this interview. And so I
- 38:13Speaker 3: think it's easier in a story where you don't have
- 38:16Speaker 3: Kamala Harris, and particularly the context where they won't give
- 38:19Speaker 3: anyone an interview with Kamala Harris. When you don't have
- 38:22Speaker 3: her there, it is easier to actually run one real
- 38:26Speaker 3: story for three minutes out of the twenty four hours
- 38:28Speaker 3: a day you're on TV.
- 38:30Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center,
- 38:33Speaker 1: Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson with you don't forget to dial
- 38:36Speaker 1: with my podcast, and you can listen to my podcast
- 38:38Speaker 1: every other day you're not listening to Verdict or each
- 38:40Speaker 1: day when you listen to Verdict. Afterwards, I'd love to
- 38:43Speaker 1: have you as a listener to again the Ben Ferguson podcasts,
- 38:46Speaker 1: and we will see you back here on Monday morning,
