“Lemons”, the new track by midnight alpha. and Nothingtosay, represents a lesson in simplicity. Originally the two producers went wild, adding guitars, saxophone and various melodies throughout. However, they found the track most effective when stripped back to just the basics, allowing a spotlight to focus on the main synths and piano, then using the added melodic instruments sparsely to accentuate the beat, resulting in a smooth, jazzy and uplifting track.
