Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It is Vertic with Center, Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
- 0:03Speaker 2: It's nice to have you with us and Center. We've
- 0:05Speaker 2: got some data that has come back and it should
- 0:07Speaker 2: make every American excited, especially hard working Americans that are
- 0:12Speaker 2: working hourly wages, working over time. They are taking huge
- 0:17Speaker 2: advantage of the major tax cuts that were passed in
- 0:20Speaker 2: the Big Beautiful Bill.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Well, we have some stunning results in terms of how
- 0:24Speaker 3: nearly every American in this country got a meaningful tax
- 0:28Speaker 3: cut from the working family's tax cut.
- 0:30Speaker 4: We're going to break that all down for you.
- 0:31Speaker 3: We're also going to talk about bringing manufacturing and shipbuilding
- 0:36Speaker 3: back to America and in particular defeating Russia and China
- 0:40Speaker 3: in the Arctic with ice cutters, a big national security
- 0:44Speaker 3: step forward and a big step forward for jobs and
- 0:48Speaker 3: for the future of manufacturing in America. But before we
- 0:51Speaker 3: do all that, I need to ask you. For those
- 0:54Speaker 3: of you who are not watching the video. And by
- 0:56Speaker 3: the way, we do this on YouTube, we do this
- 0:57Speaker 3: on rumble. But if if you're not watching the video,
- 1:01Speaker 3: I need to ask you, man, are you trapped in
- 1:04Speaker 3: some sort of Paisley Hell? Like? It really does seem
- 1:09Speaker 3: like this prison cell of beige Paisley behind you that
- 1:16Speaker 3: I'm looking at you, going, what on earth are my
- 1:20Speaker 3: eyes gazing upon?
- 1:21Speaker 2: So I am more patriotic in love America more than
- 1:25Speaker 2: you do right now in this moment, because I am
- 1:27Speaker 2: in Boston and we are doing our family vacation, and
- 1:31Speaker 2: I am at the oldest hotel, like running, continuously running
- 1:35Speaker 2: hotel in American history. And this is the room that
- 1:38Speaker 2: they put me in to do the show tonight, which
- 1:40Speaker 2: is one of their meeting boardrooms, but it is the
- 1:43Speaker 2: oldest hotel in America. It's right where like everything happened
- 1:47Speaker 2: in Boston, all the history is out in the front
- 1:50Speaker 2: door and to the right, and so that's where I
- 1:52Speaker 2: am right now. Plus you know the park House roles,
- 1:54Speaker 2: because don't act like you don't know what a park
- 1:56Speaker 2: House role is. I know you love those, right, you
- 1:58Speaker 2: love those roles. You know what I'm talking about? The
- 1:59Speaker 2: East I'm waiting. You're a fan, right.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Trying very hard to do no carbs, So yes, I
- 2:05Speaker 3: love them, but I'm trying to do no carbs, so
- 2:07Speaker 3: I'm trying not to have them.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Okay, So I am at the hotel where those were created.
- 2:12Speaker 2: And so when you get here, they tell you they're like,
- 2:14Speaker 2: by the way, this is the park house.
- 2:16Speaker 1: That's yes, the roles.
- 2:17Speaker 2: You can go in the restaurant right here, and you
- 2:19Speaker 2: can get the original recipe that started and went all
- 2:22Speaker 2: over the country. So there you go. So I got
- 2:24Speaker 2: even that on you. And they were really good. If
- 2:26Speaker 2: you were here, I promise you would partake.
- 2:28Speaker 1: They're that good.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So I will say for the record, you're saying that
- 2:32Speaker 3: that for vacation with your family, you felt the need
- 2:36Speaker 3: to flee bright Red, Texas, to flee the land of liberty,
- 2:39Speaker 3: the land of individual rights, to go to Elizabeth Warren's hometown,
- 2:44Speaker 3: that you wanted to be surrounded by Marxists who want
- 2:47Speaker 3: to take your guns?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Is that right? Is that you're wrong your family vacation choice.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Well, the family vacation.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Was We're going to go to where America started in
- 2:57Speaker 5: the two hundred and fiftyth anniversary, and we wanted to
- 3:00Speaker 5: show them all of it America was and and where
- 3:02Speaker 5: it began and where everything where people fought and died
- 3:06Speaker 5: for this country.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And I figure they're old enough to do that. So
- 3:09Speaker 1: that is that is the amen.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Amen.
- 3:12Speaker 3: And And and as you know, I lived in Boston
- 3:14Speaker 3: three years during law school. And and and I will say,
- 3:18Speaker 3: I don't like the politics.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Of the name of that law school you went to.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Is we should make sure we get that out there right.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Uh uh it was Boston Community College. And uh.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Look, look, I don't like.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Their politics of of who they they elect uh into office.
- 3:36Speaker 3: But I will say Boston is a a beautiful city
- 3:40Speaker 3: and and be the history Boston, along with with with
- 3:44Speaker 3: Philadelphia and New York or are probably the most important
- 3:49Speaker 3: cities in the founding of our country. And and in
- 3:51Speaker 3: terms of of just where the founding. And also Virginia,
- 3:55Speaker 3: not sort of Richmond, but kind of all of Virginia.
- 3:58Speaker 3: You look at those collective they produced the most extraordinary
- 4:04Speaker 3: generation of statesmen between Thomas Jefferson and Virginia and the
- 4:09Speaker 3: author of the Declaration of Independence, an extraordinary leader, John
- 4:13Speaker 3: Adams from Boston, Samuel Adams from Boston, Alexander Hamilton from
- 4:19Speaker 3: from New York via the Caribbean, George Washington for Virginia,
- 4:23Speaker 3: like like those for anyone who knows American history, Boston
- 4:29Speaker 3: is an extraordinary place. And you know what, I still
- 4:33Speaker 3: have hope and call me listen. I mean, when I
- 4:36Speaker 3: was a kid. We referred to it as the People's
- 4:38Speaker 3: Republic of Taxachusets.
- 4:40Speaker 4: I still have hope.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I will tell you, I've spent real time campaigning, and
- 4:43Speaker 3: I've lived in Boston three years.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I spent time. There are good.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Conservatives there, and most of them are sort of beaten
- 4:48Speaker 3: down and they think, like the Harvard faculty, liberals will
- 4:51Speaker 3: run the state forever. I actually have hope, even for
- 4:54Speaker 3: bright blue states like that, that the pendulum can shift.
- 4:58Speaker 4: But that being said, it hasn't shifted yet, all right.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So, by the way, we have verdict listeners here. We
- 5:03Speaker 2: have had two thumbs up while we were walking a lot. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 2: and that's a lot for here. And then we've had
- 5:10Speaker 2: three middle fingers to me while walking around with a family.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So we're almost at like fifty to fifty, which is
- 5:15Speaker 2: a lot higher than I thought we'd be at this point.
- 5:18Speaker 1: You got to keep track of it, and you'll love this.
- 5:20Speaker 3: By the way, did I ever tell you, Okay, did
- 5:23Speaker 3: I ever tell you?
- 5:24Speaker 4: A couple of years.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Ago, I was down on the US southern border in Mexico,
- 5:28Speaker 3: in Texas, but coming in from Mexico, and it was
- 5:31Speaker 3: a border checkpoint where there were a lot of eighteen
- 5:34Speaker 3: wheeler truckers coming across, and I was just standing at
- 5:36Speaker 3: the checkpoint, and so there's just eighteen wheeler after eighteen
- 5:39Speaker 3: wheeler coming across.
- 5:40Speaker 4: And I got to say, if you're driving.
- 5:43Speaker 3: A truck across the US Mexico border, you're not expecting
- 5:48Speaker 3: to see like the Texas Senator standing there.
- 5:52Speaker 1: At the checkpoint. That's a fair point.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah, every truck truck driver is startled. And I actually
- 5:59Speaker 3: took an informal pole. Yeah, and almost every single truck
- 6:04Speaker 3: driver gave me a finger, either the thumb or the
- 6:07Speaker 3: middle finger.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Ah. And it was a beautiful informal pole.
- 6:12Speaker 3: And I got to tell you that that particular day
- 6:14Speaker 3: the survey, the ratio was about eighty twenty. I got
- 6:17Speaker 3: about eighty percent thumbs up compared to twenty percent middle fingers.
- 6:20Speaker 3: But almost nobody refrained from expressing a view and it
- 6:23Speaker 3: was just one finger or the other.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And I kind of laughed at all of them. I
- 6:27Speaker 4: said thank you and waved yeah.
- 6:28Speaker 2: You think you Yeah, God bless you, and be safe
- 6:30Speaker 2: on the roadways, right, so you'll like this. My oldest said, hey, Dad,
- 6:33Speaker 2: I want to see Harvard and I was like, we're
- 6:36Speaker 2: not going to go to it and waste her time.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I was like, Dad has spoken at the Kinning school
- 6:40Speaker 2: several times, so one day maybe if I do that again,
- 6:42Speaker 2: if they invite me back, then you can go. But
- 6:44Speaker 2: I said, we will drive and I'll show you where
- 6:46Speaker 2: it is, but you ain't going to college there that was.
- 6:49Speaker 2: That was like that not happening. You're not going to Harvard,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and I feel good about that. I feel good that
- 6:54Speaker 2: that was like good parenting.
- 6:55Speaker 3: One O one, All right, Ben, let me let me
- 6:58Speaker 3: ask you this quite seriously. Are world class golfers? Oh
- 7:02Speaker 3: my reaction be I gotta tell you admitted them and
- 7:05Speaker 3: asked them to play on the Harvard golf team.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Oh, I would say probably, not just no, but hell no,
- 7:10Speaker 2: that would just be because I don't want their mind
- 7:12Speaker 2: to just be totally corrupted. But I gotta tell you this.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I didn't I tell you this, So this is exact news.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Bradley yesterday, this is super fun. He was three over
- 7:22Speaker 2: through six holes. He knew that he was three off
- 7:26Speaker 2: the lead. He went Bertie Eagle to qualify for the
- 7:29Speaker 2: World Championships next year, went into a three way off
- 7:34Speaker 2: and in the three way playoff, he eagled the hole
- 7:37Speaker 2: to beat the other two kids who had par puttch.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So he's going to World next year. I just had
- 7:41Speaker 1: to tell you. It was like the.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Most fun moment being a dad caddying because he knew
- 7:45Speaker 2: what he had to do.
- 7:45Speaker 5: He went Bertie eagerly looked at me and he gave
- 7:47Speaker 5: me a fist pump and walked off the green.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It was so fun.
- 7:49Speaker 2: But if Harvard calls and says we got you a
- 7:52Speaker 2: full ride, I'm gonna be like, well, that's good news,
- 7:54Speaker 2: because that means a bunch of other schools are gonna
- 7:56Speaker 2: call and give you a full ride one day. And
- 7:58Speaker 2: I just I can't imagine sending them to Harvard knowing
- 8:02Speaker 2: how liberal and woke they are. Now, maybe it'll change.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I'd love for it to change, because when I was
- 8:06Speaker 2: in school, I would have gone to Harvard if I
- 8:07Speaker 2: would have gotten in, but I didn't.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But I also didn't apply. Let's be clear.
- 8:11Speaker 2: But I mean like I wasn't afraid of it in
- 8:13Speaker 2: two thousand when I was graduating. Then am I going
- 8:17Speaker 2: to college now? I would be terrified to send my
- 8:19Speaker 2: kid to Harvard.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Look, we'll see.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I hope those schools come back and I will say
- 8:26Speaker 3: my Alma Maters, Princeton, and Harvard. I think are probably
- 8:29Speaker 3: embarrassed that I graduated from there. That doesn't make me
- 8:34Speaker 3: terribly happy, But I do think that that there's a lot,
- 8:40Speaker 3: there's a lot to recommend them.
- 8:41Speaker 4: I had a wonderful time. I loved my time in college.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I loved my time in.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Law school, and I do you know, part of me
- 8:48Speaker 3: grieves at how woke higher education has gotten, particularly the
- 8:54Speaker 3: more elite academic.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Institutions, and I hope that changes.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I do think one of the things the Trump administration
- 9:00Speaker 3: is trying to do is to try and to take
- 9:02Speaker 3: on the woke culture. That's a hard thing to change, yes,
- 9:05Speaker 3: but listen, I would like many of our nation's leaders,
- 9:11Speaker 3: historically and probably in the future will continue to get
- 9:14Speaker 3: educations at the most exclusive schools, and I would like
- 9:19Speaker 3: them to be not communists and doctrination camp. So my
- 9:22Speaker 3: hope is they'll get better over time.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I don't know if they will.
- 9:25Speaker 2: All right senat So let's get into these incredible tax breaks,
- 9:28Speaker 2: and this is a story that the media is refusing
- 9:31Speaker 2: to cover because it's such incredible news for the average American,
- 9:34Speaker 2: hard working American. Before we get to that, though, I
- 9:37Speaker 2: do want to take a moment and talk to you
- 9:38Speaker 2: about the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and the
- 9:41Speaker 2: work that is continuing to be done for those in
- 9:44Speaker 2: need right now in Israel. When you hear about Israel
- 9:47Speaker 2: and the news, it's easy to think of headlines, politics,
- 9:50Speaker 2: or another conflict far away. But for families in Israel
- 9:54Speaker 2: and Jews around the world, this is incredibly personal. Anti
- 9:57Speaker 2: Semitic attacks in the Holy Land and across the globe
- 10:00Speaker 2: are happening right now. Elderly Holocaust survivors who endured so
- 10:05Speaker 2: much already again fear for their lives. Jewish families are
- 10:09Speaker 2: praying for the freedom to worship in safety, and in
- 10:12Speaker 2: moments like these, your voice matters because your voice can
- 10:16Speaker 2: remind them that they're not alone. The International Fellowship of
- 10:20Speaker 2: Christians and Jews inviting you to leave a personal prayer
- 10:24Speaker 2: or message of encouragement that will be delivered directly to
- 10:27Speaker 2: someone in Israel who needs hope right now, not filtered
- 10:31Speaker 2: through the media, not lost online, but personally delivered. A
- 10:35Speaker 2: simple prayer, a few heartfelt words they can lift the
- 10:38Speaker 2: spirit of someone facing fear, uncertainty, and isolation. This is
- 10:43Speaker 2: more than support, This is standing with Israel when it
- 10:46Speaker 2: matters the most. Go to PREYIFCJ dot org. That's Prey,
- 10:51Speaker 2: pr ay IFCJ dot org, and you can submit your
- 10:56Speaker 2: prayer today. That's Prey if CJ dot org. Center this
- 11:03Speaker 2: story of what Republicans did with a big, beautiful bill.
- 11:07Speaker 2: We are now seeing that the fruits of that legislation.
- 11:12Speaker 2: It had an amazing impact on tax day and filing
- 11:16Speaker 2: for so many Americans, especially those working hourly wages, those
- 11:20Speaker 2: working over time, just trying to get ahead for themselves
- 11:24Speaker 2: or for their families. And if you look at it
- 11:26Speaker 2: in comparison to what the tax bill would have been
- 11:30Speaker 2: for Americans if Democrats would have gotten their way, this
- 11:33Speaker 2: is a story that I can't believe that it's not being celebrated,
- 11:37Speaker 2: and yet the media is acting like it didn't even happen.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, if you're a taxpayer in America, the odds
- 11:43Speaker 3: are overwhelming that you got a tax cut as a
- 11:46Speaker 3: result of the Working Families tax cut last year that
- 11:48Speaker 3: President Trump signed into law the Republican Congress passed, and
- 11:52Speaker 3: the odds are significant that you got a big tax cut.
- 11:56Speaker 3: We're gonna break down the numbers, but it's worth understanding.
- 11:59Speaker 3: If you haven't heard that, that's not an accident. The
- 12:03Speaker 3: media doesn't want you to hear that. The Democrats don't
- 12:05Speaker 3: want you to hear that. They want you to believe
- 12:07Speaker 3: that nothing happened. Let's look at the data. Here's the data.
- 12:10Speaker 3: This is the story in the New York Post, the
- 12:13Speaker 3: headline of which is almost every US tax filer got
- 12:16Speaker 3: a cut this year, coming to a total of eighty
- 12:20Speaker 3: two billion.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Dollars in relief. This is from the Treasury Department.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Here's what the Post reported, quote, Nearly every person who
- 12:27Speaker 3: filed taxes this year received a tax cut, coming to
- 12:30Speaker 3: a whopping eighty two billion dollars in relief, according to
- 12:32Speaker 3: the Treasury Department.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Data release Tuesday.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Showed ninety seven percent of filers scored a cut. Ninety
- 12:39Speaker 3: seven percent. Have you seen that on ABC? Have you
- 12:42Speaker 3: seen that on CNN? Have you seen that MSNBC? Why
- 12:46Speaker 3: haven't you ninety seven percent.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Argument that liberals made to say noted this big, beautiful
- 12:52Speaker 2: bill was they said it was only going to affect
- 12:54Speaker 2: the wealthiest one percenters, the rich.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Bernie Sanders AOC was out alive.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Right, it was a lie because ninety seven percent means
- 13:03Speaker 2: the majority of Americans are not billionaires and millionaires, to
- 13:05Speaker 2: use Bernie Sanders line, So they just flat out lied
- 13:08Speaker 2: to you, and they knew it.
- 13:09Speaker 4: And the data are even more compelling. By the way.
- 13:12Speaker 3: The contrast, if we had not passed the Working Family's
- 13:15Speaker 3: Tax Hut, you know what would have happened on January first.
- 13:19Speaker 3: There would have been a five trillion dollar tax hike.
- 13:23Speaker 3: That's what Democrats wanted. Instead of ninety seven percent of
- 13:26Speaker 3: taxpayers having their taxes cut, you would have had I
- 13:29Speaker 3: don't know if it's ninety seven percent would it, but
- 13:31Speaker 3: it would have been virtually every taxpayer having a massive
- 13:36Speaker 3: tax increase. So that's the choice, either a tax cut,
- 13:39Speaker 3: which is what has happened, or a massive tax increase.
- 13:43Speaker 3: And and here here are the specific data. Treasury officials
- 13:48Speaker 3: said filers making one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand
- 13:53Speaker 3: who tapped the new brakes pocketed an average cut topping
- 13:59Speaker 3: one thousand, two hundred and fifty dollars. So if you
- 14:02Speaker 3: made between two hundred thousand dollars, you got over one
- 14:05Speaker 3: thousand dollars in tax relief, while those with incomes between
- 14:09Speaker 3: fifty thousand and one hundred thousand grabbed more than eight
- 14:14Speaker 3: hundred and fifteen dollars on average. That's additional money in
- 14:18Speaker 3: your pocket to pay for food, to pay for education,
- 14:21Speaker 3: to pay for the needs.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Your family has. What else?
- 14:27Speaker 3: More than seven point five million workers claimed the no
- 14:34Speaker 3: tax on Tips tax break. By the way, I am
- 14:36Speaker 3: the author of no Tax on Tips. If you're a waiter,
- 14:39Speaker 3: if you're a waitress, if you're a bartender, if you're
- 14:41Speaker 3: a taxicab driver, if you claim no tax on tips.
- 14:44Speaker 3: I wrote that law. Seven and a half million workers
- 14:47Speaker 3: benefit from it. The average deduction was seven thousand dollars. Now,
- 14:54Speaker 3: I got to say to a waiter or a waitress,
- 14:56Speaker 3: or taxicab driver, or bartender or barber, seven grand is
- 15:01Speaker 3: real money. You want to talk about delivering relief, that's
- 15:04Speaker 3: real money. But you know what, that is small in
- 15:08Speaker 3: terms of the number of filers compared to no tax
- 15:11Speaker 3: on overtime. How many filers do you think benefited from
- 15:14Speaker 3: no tax on overtime?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Oh, it's going to be astronomical number compared to what
- 15:18Speaker 2: the Democrats said. They said, Oh, this is not going
- 15:20Speaker 2: to work and no one's gonna care. Well, guess what
- 15:22Speaker 2: they did.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Well, more than twenty nine million filers YEP, benefited from
- 15:29Speaker 3: no tax on overtime. The average deduction was three thousand,
- 15:34Speaker 3: one hundred dollars. By the way, where do they fall.
- 15:37Speaker 3: The democrats of the media are going to say it's
- 15:38Speaker 3: all the rich. Three quarters of the people who benefited
- 15:42Speaker 3: from no tax on overtime, their income fell under one
- 15:47Speaker 3: hundred thousand dollars. You know how much? How many people
- 15:50Speaker 3: earned under two hundred thousand dollars?
- 15:52Speaker 1: How much?
- 15:53Speaker 4: Ninety six percent.
- 15:55Speaker 3: This was a targeted tax break to working class Americans
- 16:00Speaker 3: who needed it. By the way, the standard deduction was doubled.
- 16:06Speaker 3: That simplified life for one hundred and twenty seven million filers,
- 16:11Speaker 3: which is equivalent to ninety percent of all returns filed.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Have you seen that on the news? No you haven't.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, in fact, Treasury said that number will go
- 16:20Speaker 3: up because some people have filed extensions. They expect it
- 16:23Speaker 3: to be more than ninety percent of filers will benefit
- 16:27Speaker 3: from the double standard deduction.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You look at these number, center, and I go back
- 16:31Speaker 2: to something that we mentioned earlier. There wasn't a single Democrat,
- 16:35Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken, that voted in favor of this right.
- 16:38Speaker 1: They were all unanimously at.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Zero zero in the House, zero in the Senate.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was unanimous the Democratic Party. And this
- 16:45Speaker 2: should be a big issue I think in the mid terms.
- 16:47Speaker 2: They wanted a five trillion dollar tax increase on the
- 16:51Speaker 2: American worker. And they didn't want to pass no tax
- 16:55Speaker 2: on tips, They didn't want to pass no tax on overtime,
- 16:58Speaker 2: they didn't want to double the standard deduction. They said,
- 17:01Speaker 2: let's be clear, you elect us, and we're gonna raise
- 17:05Speaker 2: your taxes by five trillion dollars in the next tax
- 17:08Speaker 2: cycle if they had it their way. That is the
- 17:10Speaker 2: Democratic Party, which is why the media is not talking
- 17:13Speaker 2: about this. The candidates on the Democratic side aren't talking
- 17:17Speaker 2: about this like this affected almost every tax file in
- 17:20Speaker 2: America in a positive way. Why on earth is this
- 17:24Speaker 2: not getting more coverage than it is right now.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Look, it's up to us to share that. And that's
- 17:29Speaker 3: one of the reasons for every one of you that
- 17:30Speaker 3: listen to this podcast, that watch this podcast, share it
- 17:34Speaker 3: because your friends, your neighbors, your family, your colleagues, they
- 17:37Speaker 3: don't know this.
- 17:38Speaker 4: The media is lying to them.
- 17:40Speaker 3: They don't want them to know that they've gotten a
- 17:43Speaker 3: significant tax cut. Let's take the Trump accounts as you know,
- 17:46Speaker 3: I wrote the Trump accounts, the Trump accounts and the
- 17:48Speaker 3: school choice provision. Both of them, I wrote, I think
- 17:51Speaker 3: they're the two most consequential provisions of this entire bill.
- 17:55Speaker 3: To date, more than five point five million Trump accounts
- 18:01Speaker 3: have been opened for kids under eighteen, and one point
- 18:05Speaker 3: four million kids are eligible for the one thousand dollars
- 18:09Speaker 3: contributions that are there for newborn kids.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Incredible.
- 18:15Speaker 4: How many of the kids do you.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Think are from families earning less than two hundred thousand dollars.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I would bet a large percentage of them. And that's
- 18:21Speaker 2: exactly the way you guys wrote this.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Yep, eighty six percent. So when the Democrats of the
- 18:28Speaker 3: media say, oh, this is just a benefit for the rich,
- 18:31Speaker 3: that is a lie. Eighty six percent are going to
- 18:35Speaker 3: kids of families earning less than two hundred thousand dollars.
- 18:39Speaker 4: All right, let's take on top of.
- 18:42Speaker 3: That no tax on Social Security, that that is obviously
- 18:45Speaker 3: targeted towards seniors. Yeah, more than thirty million Americans claim
- 18:51Speaker 3: the deduction for no tax on Social Security. The average
- 18:55Speaker 3: deduction is more than seven thousand, five hundred dollars. Look,
- 18:59Speaker 3: many of our listeners are young. We've got a lot
- 19:02Speaker 3: of listeners who are at high school, who are in college,
- 19:04Speaker 3: who are young working professionals. But we also have we
- 19:07Speaker 3: have gen X listeners, and we have we have listeners
- 19:11Speaker 3: that are seniors. If you're a senior, if you're on
- 19:14Speaker 3: Social Security, no tax on Social Security provided real relief
- 19:18Speaker 3: to you. And by the way, if you have a
- 19:20Speaker 3: family member, if you have a mom or or grandfather,
- 19:24Speaker 3: or uncle or aunt or family members on Social Security,
- 19:28Speaker 3: send them this podcast. Let them know that their taxes
- 19:31Speaker 3: went down for one reason and one reason only because
- 19:36Speaker 3: President Trump was reelected and because we had a Republican.
- 19:38Speaker 4: House and Senate.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And if they like their taxes going down, they want
- 19:42Speaker 3: to continue to have a Republican House and Senate.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Now, what is it interesting?
- 19:47Speaker 3: Do you know what the benefit is to GDP from
- 19:52Speaker 3: the working family's tax cut?
- 19:54Speaker 1: What's the number?
- 19:56Speaker 3: The estimate is that the GDP is one point two
- 19:59Speaker 3: percent greater WOW in twenty twenty six this year. Next
- 20:04Speaker 3: year it will be one point four percent greater in
- 20:06Speaker 3: twenty twenty seven, and then in twenty twenty eight it
- 20:10Speaker 3: will be one point five percent greater before settling in
- 20:15Speaker 3: at a one point two percent long term gain. That
- 20:19Speaker 3: is real wealth that is impacting real families. And it's
- 20:23Speaker 3: not just a handful of gazillionaires. It is every worker
- 20:28Speaker 3: in America. That's real results, and the media desperately doesn't
- 20:32Speaker 3: want you to know about this.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I want to take a quick moment and talk to
- 20:35Speaker 2: you about an incredible organization and it is called Compassion International,
- 20:40Speaker 2: and how you can get involved.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I want to be.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Honest with you for a second about how an act
- 20:45Speaker 2: of compassion really feels. A couple of years ago, I
- 20:48Speaker 2: made the choice to partner with an amazing organization called
- 20:52Speaker 2: Compassion International. Why because I wanted to sponsor a child
- 20:57Speaker 2: in need. It was a nice idea, sure, but I
- 21:00Speaker 2: had no idea just how much that simple act would
- 21:04Speaker 2: change my life as well. I sponsored Nadia and got
- 21:08Speaker 2: to watch your life change right in front of my eyes,
- 21:11Speaker 2: going from starving literally alone on the streets to getting
- 21:15Speaker 2: the healthcare and education she needs to reach her God
- 21:19Speaker 2: given full potential. I got to be a part of
- 21:22Speaker 2: that change, and the light of that compassion not only
- 21:25Speaker 2: illuminates in her, it illuminates now in me. That is
- 21:30Speaker 2: the power of compassion. The light of Christ shines on
- 21:34Speaker 2: all of us. Feel it for yourself and change literally
- 21:38Speaker 2: a child's life, change the world, and you also change yourself.
- 21:42Speaker 2: You can sponsor child today. Visit Compassion dot com. That's
- 21:48Speaker 2: Compassion dot Com. I want to center on to another
- 21:52Speaker 2: really interesting story. It deals with national security, especially with
- 21:55Speaker 2: what's happening in Middle East. And I ran right now
- 21:58Speaker 2: and something that we've highlighted and talked about on this
- 22:01Speaker 2: show in the past, and that was that ship building
- 22:04Speaker 2: was not happening in the United States of America. That
- 22:07Speaker 2: is a national security issue, and it was a very
- 22:10Speaker 2: clear national security issue that was brought up. You were
- 22:13Speaker 2: one of those sounding the alarm on it, because when
- 22:15Speaker 2: you're dependent on your ships being made overseas and you
- 22:18Speaker 2: have things that happened, whether it's COVID, right, that's not
- 22:21Speaker 2: even a war, but with COVID and all of these
- 22:24Speaker 2: issues that we're now seeing in the Middle East, we
- 22:26Speaker 2: needed to bring ship building back to the United States
- 22:28Speaker 2: of America, and now we are seeing that actually happen.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Another one of the major provisions of the Working Families
- 22:35Speaker 3: Tax cut was the funding for the Coastguard and the
- 22:38Speaker 3: way it works in the Senate when you're writing a
- 22:40Speaker 3: bill in reconciliation, which is the process we used to
- 22:44Speaker 3: pass the Working Families tax cut. Each committee chairman writes
- 22:48Speaker 3: the portion of the bill that is within his or
- 22:51Speaker 3: her jurisdiction. I'm the chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science,
- 22:55Speaker 3: and Transportation. We've got jurisdiction over about forty percent of
- 22:58Speaker 3: the US economy. Every single provision that was in my
- 23:02Speaker 3: jurisdiction I was responsible for writing, and I did write.
- 23:06Speaker 3: One of the subjects that is within the jurisdiction of
- 23:10Speaker 3: the Commerce Committee is the Coast Guard. The Coastguard falls
- 23:12Speaker 3: within our jurisdiction. We funded more than twenty four billion
- 23:18Speaker 3: dollars billion with a B into.
- 23:21Speaker 4: The Coast Guard.
- 23:22Speaker 3: That is the largest single investment in the history of
- 23:25Speaker 3: the United States and the Coast Guard. I want to
- 23:28Speaker 3: give you a sense of the order of magnitude of that.
- 23:30Speaker 3: The annual budget of the Coast Guard is between eleven
- 23:33Speaker 3: and twelve billion dollars. In one year, we invested more
- 23:37Speaker 3: than double the annual budget of the Coast Guard to
- 23:40Speaker 3: rebuild their fleet, to rebuild to purchase new ships, to
- 23:44Speaker 3: purchase new helicopters, to purchase new capital and infrastructure. One
- 23:49Speaker 3: of the biggest elements of our investment was Arctic ice cutters.
- 23:55Speaker 3: So if you look at the Arctic, the near the
- 23:58Speaker 3: North Pole and all around the Arctic, that is a
- 24:01Speaker 3: major national security contested domain. Russia and China are both
- 24:07Speaker 3: killing us in the Arctic, and the United States has
- 24:11Speaker 3: fallen way behind. And we put in the funding to
- 24:14Speaker 3: build new Arctic ice cutters, and the Trump administration signed
- 24:19Speaker 3: a contract to purchase eleven new Arctic ice cutters and
- 24:23Speaker 3: in particular to build many of them here in the
- 24:26Speaker 3: United States. So I started this week Monday morning down
- 24:30Speaker 3: in Galveston, Texas. And in Galveston we had a groundbreaking
- 24:33Speaker 3: for a brand new shipyard where there's over a billion
- 24:37Speaker 3: dollars being invested. It's going to create more than two
- 24:40Speaker 3: thousand jobs to build Arctic ice cutters. And not only
- 24:44Speaker 3: is that important for that investment, those new jobs, but
- 24:47Speaker 3: that's an expertise that doesn't exist in the United States.
- 24:50Speaker 3: We're going to see more commercial ships built in the
- 24:53Speaker 3: United States and in Texas and Galveston and Port Arthur
- 24:57Speaker 3: because of this investment. I spoke at the ground breaking.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Give a listen to hear what I had to say
- 25:02Speaker 3: at the groundbreaking, and I was very proud when President
- 25:05Speaker 3: Trump announced that three and a half billion dollars was
- 25:08Speaker 3: going to Davy Defense to build five Arctic security cutters
- 25:14Speaker 3: and to build them here in the Texas Golf Coast.
- 25:24Speaker 3: That is going to produce over two thousand high paying
- 25:28Speaker 3: jobs here on the Texas Golf Coast. And and mark
- 25:38Speaker 3: my word, that's just the beginning, because that is going
- 25:41Speaker 3: to fuel a renaissance of shipbuilding right here on the
- 25:45Speaker 3: Texas Golf Coast. A final observation about Galveston. Folks here
- 25:56Speaker 3: are really particular about Galveston.
- 25:59Speaker 4: It's a thing you will learn.
- 26:01Speaker 3: There's a phrase that folks from Galveston will tell you,
- 26:04Speaker 3: which is bo I born on the islands. And it's
- 26:08Speaker 3: a little bit. There's an old line that you never
- 26:11Speaker 3: ask anyone if he's a Texan. If he is, he'll
- 26:15Speaker 3: tell you, and if he's not, you don't want to
- 26:18Speaker 3: embarrass the guy.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I love, by the way that that line there center
- 26:23Speaker 2: because it is, by the way, totally accurate. But this
- 26:27Speaker 2: is a really big, I think moment as you described it,
- 26:30Speaker 2: for national security. It also makes us not dependent on
- 26:34Speaker 2: foreign countries and foreign workforces for things that deal with
- 26:38Speaker 2: national security. This is part of what you've been advocating
- 26:41Speaker 2: for with America First policy is with the Trump administration
- 26:44Speaker 2: as well, and being able to do this and do
- 26:47Speaker 2: it quickly, and also to get these cutters back into
- 26:51Speaker 2: the Arctic where we need them from a national security standpoint.
- 26:54Speaker 2: This is a big win all the way around, and
- 26:57Speaker 2: it produces American jobs, and not just a few, as
- 26:59Speaker 2: you mentioned, You've got thousands, and then you have the
- 27:02Speaker 2: support jobs around those jobs as well.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Well, that's right, And let me tell you a little
- 27:07Speaker 3: bit of history. You look, you're a relatively new Texan.
- 27:11Speaker 3: You're from Memphis. So this is a bit of history
- 27:14Speaker 3: that I shared at the press conference that that that
- 27:17Speaker 3: that you may not know and that everyone in Galveston knew,
- 27:21Speaker 3: but but maybe other people don't. So Galveston used to
- 27:26Speaker 3: be the largest city in Texas.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Wow.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Galveston was called the Queen of the Gulf Coast. Galveston
- 27:35Speaker 3: was also called the Wall Street of the Southwest, and
- 27:40Speaker 3: Galveston was called the Ellis Island to the south. And
- 27:44Speaker 3: just like Ellis Island, when people came as immigrants, they
- 27:46Speaker 3: would come to Galveston.
- 27:48Speaker 4: That that that was the port.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Of entry where where vast numbers of people came to
- 27:53Speaker 3: America through Galveston, and and what happened is in nineteen hundred,
- 27:57Speaker 3: there was a devastating hurricane that killed between eight thousand
- 28:02Speaker 3: and twelve thousand people in Galveston, and they didn't have
- 28:04Speaker 3: the technology to have any early warning signs, so the
- 28:07Speaker 3: hurricane just hit and destroyed the city and it remains
- 28:12Speaker 3: the single most devastating natural disaster in US history. But
- 28:17Speaker 3: a really cool fact that I pointed out, and I
- 28:20Speaker 3: bet you you don't know this, ben In eighteen thirty six,
- 28:24Speaker 3: Galveston was the capital of the Republic of Texas. The
- 28:28Speaker 3: Republic of Texas, we were our own nation, and Galveston
- 28:31Speaker 3: was our capital right when we became our own nation.
- 28:34Speaker 3: And so I said, look, it's really special that we're
- 28:36Speaker 3: seeing thousands of new manufacturing jobs coming to Galveston, shipbuilding jobs.
- 28:43Speaker 4: And I mentioned in.
- 28:44Speaker 3: The clip you we just played the phrase BOI and
- 28:47Speaker 3: by the way, you'll meet people from Galveston who were fifth, sixth,
- 28:51Speaker 3: seventh generation BOI board on island. And what I called
- 28:54Speaker 3: for at the press conference, I said, listen, every Arctic
- 28:57Speaker 3: ice cutter you build there. I turned to the CEO
- 29:00Speaker 3: of the company Davies, that's going to be building them,
- 29:02Speaker 3: And I said, I hope and expect on every one
- 29:05Speaker 3: of those Arctic ice cutters, somewhere in the interior on
- 29:08Speaker 3: the hall, you will engrave the simple letters Boi, because
- 29:13Speaker 3: those Arctic ice cutters will have been born on the
- 29:16Speaker 3: island of Galveston. And that's an awesome thing. But it's
- 29:20Speaker 3: an awesome thing for American jobs. You look at what
- 29:23Speaker 3: President Trump is fighting to do, what I'm fighting to do,
- 29:27Speaker 3: it is bring jobs back to American manufacturing jobs. And
- 29:30Speaker 3: I'll tell you a little bit. Let me bring you
- 29:31Speaker 3: a little bit inside the story. So the bill we wrote,
- 29:36Speaker 3: we had the funding for what was likely to be
- 29:38Speaker 3: five to six Arctic ice cutters.
- 29:41Speaker 4: And there was a battle. There was a battle that went.
- 29:44Speaker 3: To the to the White House about where that contract
- 29:47Speaker 3: would go. And that battle was principally between Texas and Louisiana.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Now I love Louisiana. My parents met New Orleans. My
- 29:55Speaker 3: mom went to high school in Battery Rouge. Louisiana is
- 29:57Speaker 3: a great state. And to be clear, Louisiana as the
- 30:00Speaker 3: home of the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and
- 30:03Speaker 3: Steve Scalise, the House majority leader. They're both very good friends.
- 30:06Speaker 3: They were understandably fighting for their state and wanted the
- 30:10Speaker 3: ship building in Louisiana. I was fighting for Texas, and
- 30:14Speaker 3: I will tell you it was a knife fight at
- 30:15Speaker 3: the White House. I spoke repeatedly to the President of
- 30:18Speaker 3: the United States. I spoke to the senior staff in
- 30:20Speaker 3: the White House over and over and over again, and
- 30:23Speaker 3: it was a real fight. We didn't know who was
- 30:25Speaker 3: going to win Texas and Louisiana. And I want to
- 30:28Speaker 3: give the President real props here. Look, we all know
- 30:30Speaker 3: before he was in the White House, the President was
- 30:32Speaker 3: a businessman and he is very committed to getting more
- 30:37Speaker 3: for less. So the proposal, the legislation that had been
- 30:41Speaker 3: passed was funding to build five to six new ice cutters.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Trump said that's not enough. I don't want five to six,
- 30:48Speaker 3: I want eleven. And so they found new funding that
- 30:52Speaker 3: had been appropriated by Congress, and what they ended up
- 30:54Speaker 3: doing was approving both. So there's several ice cutters being
- 30:57Speaker 3: built in Louisiana. There are several being built in Texas.
- 31:00Speaker 3: And it was a win win, and it's a great example.
- 31:03Speaker 3: He went to the shipbuilding companies and he said, I
- 31:07Speaker 3: want you to cut your prices and deliver more ships.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And they did. And this was not staff driven. This
- 31:14Speaker 3: was you know, Trump is a builder, so he I mean,
- 31:17Speaker 3: he likes thats like negotiating a contract. And he leaned
- 31:21Speaker 3: in and instead of five to six ized cutters, we're
- 31:24Speaker 3: getting eleven. Instead of just one place Louisiana or Texas,
- 31:27Speaker 3: we're getting both. And we're getting thousands and thousands of
- 31:30Speaker 3: new jobs. And we're going to be able to compete
- 31:32Speaker 3: with and protect our national security the Arctic against Russia
- 31:35Speaker 3: and China.
- 31:36Speaker 4: It is a win win all around.
- 31:38Speaker 1: It really is an incredible story.
- 31:40Speaker 2: And again when you go back to fighting for America first,
- 31:43Speaker 2: this is what you get when you get the votes
- 31:45Speaker 2: to do it.
- 31:46Speaker 1: It's incredible.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Congrats and a big victory for American workers there.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Don't forget. We do this show Monday, Wednesday Friday.

- 31:55Speaker 2: episode and what we told you today. Please share it
