- 0:45Speaker 1: and eighteen. Her approach blends relaxation techniques with therapeutic methods,

- 1:03Speaker 1: Please welcome to the Money Making Conversation Masterclass the massage
- 1:07Speaker 1: therapists from Greenville, South Carolina, Jasmine Hood. How you doing, Jassin,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I'm doing good.
- 1:13Speaker 2: How are you doing today?
- 1:14Speaker 1: I had to say Greenville, South Carolina because a lot
- 1:16Speaker 1: of people may not know what Greenville, South Carolina at,
- 1:18Speaker 1: but I do because when I was doing stand up
- 1:20Speaker 1: comedy back in the day, I went to Greenville, South
- 1:23Speaker 1: Carolina played the Punchline comedy clubs. I don't think they
- 1:26Speaker 1: are theyven that'd be open there anymore. But I had
- 1:29Speaker 1: a lot of good times in Greenville, South Carolina. But
- 1:31Speaker 1: you started, you became a massage therapist in twenty and eighteen.
- 1:35Speaker 1: What were you doing prior to that decision making you
- 1:38Speaker 1: move in your life?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Correct?
- 1:39Speaker 3: I was a CNA in Greenville in twenty seventeen before
- 1:44Speaker 3: I decided to make the move to Atlanta. So I
- 1:46Speaker 3: was there helping people in the hospital, and then I
- 1:49Speaker 3: just felt like I just wanted something different, So I
- 1:52Speaker 3: moved here for a change, and I made that change.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So you did a change for just socially because there's
- 1:59Speaker 1: a different but also career wise. How does one make
- 2:03Speaker 1: a career decision like that?
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm just asking it really just I just jumped up
- 2:08Speaker 3: and just moved like I didn't know anyone, don't have
- 2:11Speaker 3: any family here, just said I'm just gonna move to
- 2:14Speaker 3: Atlanta and just started over.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And so a lot of people are that's fear, and
- 2:19Speaker 1: fear was obviously not an issue with you because you
- 2:21Speaker 1: didn't know anyone you was making the career change. What
- 2:25Speaker 1: makes you not worry about the consequences when it comes
- 2:31Speaker 1: to making the decision like that, because it is a consequence,
- 2:34Speaker 1: because you can't fail. You come move to a place
- 2:36Speaker 1: that's unsafe, and you may not meet anybody that likes you.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Well, I think for me it was easy because my
- 2:43Speaker 3: mom she did it. So she moved and she moved
- 2:46Speaker 3: to Myrtle Beach and so she left me and my
- 2:49Speaker 3: brothers in Greenville. So I'm like, well, so she left,
- 2:51Speaker 3: won't have nowhere to go back to. So I'm like, okay,
- 2:53Speaker 3: well let me just venture off as well. And of course,
- 2:57Speaker 3: you know, things happen, right, But Mom's a call away. Hey,
- 3:02Speaker 3: I'm in a situation.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Can you send me some money?
- 3:06Speaker 1: It's good they have that phone called you know now,
- 3:09Speaker 1: Adjasmine a massage therapist.
- 3:11Speaker 2: What exactly is that a massage therapist.
- 3:15Speaker 3: We are basically licensed people that helps you make you
- 3:19Speaker 3: aware of your body. We help loosen you up, get
- 3:22Speaker 3: out those kinks, the tension that you carry in your body.
- 3:25Speaker 3: A lot of us we carry problems, or I say just.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Trauma.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Basically, we all carry trauma in our lives. So when
- 3:35Speaker 3: you at work, you get stressed. It all it all
- 3:39Speaker 3: ends up in your body. So if you work at
- 3:41Speaker 3: this a lot of people will have tension in the
- 3:43Speaker 3: nick and shoulders because they're tense. Stuff like this, typing
- 3:46Speaker 3: all the time. And so I'm there to help release it.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And so if you don't release it, it's just keep
- 3:51Speaker 3: getting built up and built up, and it makes people angry.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Okay, so you're so, I'm not going to act like
- 3:57Speaker 1: I don't know, but I do know that I've had
- 4:00Speaker 1: massage and I can't say massage correct.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You can't say massage.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I want to make sure I'm using the right language.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And I've had the deep tissue which is painful. I've
- 4:14Speaker 1: actually told people to stop. Okay, oh wow, And because
- 4:18Speaker 1: that's where they get in with the thumbs. So please,
- 4:22Speaker 1: for my audience, explain to them the three popular massages
- 4:27Speaker 1: that people request and what exactly are you achieving with
- 4:30Speaker 1: each one of them.
- 4:31Speaker 3: So you have Swedish, which many people get for the
- 4:34Speaker 3: first time because they don't know what to expect. Then
- 4:37Speaker 3: they just want to relax. It's all head to toe.
- 4:41Speaker 3: You just want to relax, and like, I just I'm stressed.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I got all these issues going on at work at home.
- 4:47Speaker 3: It's like, just just relax me. So it's just gentle.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You're not really trying to work out any kinks or anything.
- 4:52Speaker 3: They just really just want.
- 4:53Speaker 2: To relax, so it's not that much pressure, okay.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And then deep tissue is like if you have ache
- 4:58Speaker 3: and pain, like you just have something is just bothering
- 5:01Speaker 3: you and I.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Need you to get in there. That's deep tissue.
- 5:04Speaker 3: So you might be working out a trigger point. But
- 5:06Speaker 3: the thing about the point a trigger point okay, So
- 5:09Speaker 3: a trigger point it's basically what's causing pain. Like you
- 5:12Speaker 3: feeling some pain, like I just can't get rid of it.
- 5:14Speaker 3: That's a trigger point. Like you may not feel it
- 5:17Speaker 3: in you're moving, but when you sit down you're like,
- 5:19Speaker 3: oh my gosh, I got this sharp pain right here. Okay,
- 5:21Speaker 3: it's a trigger point. So that's your body laying you know, hey,
- 5:24Speaker 3: something going on right here when it does work this out.
- 5:27Speaker 3: And so the thing with deep tissue is you can't
- 5:29Speaker 3: do a full body deep tissue. Is you just focus
- 5:31Speaker 3: on that one area that's bothering. But some people they
- 5:34Speaker 3: like more of a medium to firm pressure. Okay, so
- 5:38Speaker 3: it's not all this deep the whole time.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Right That was when I just said was very painful
- 5:42Speaker 1: to me because I had some body ache. So I
- 5:46Speaker 1: thought the deep tissue would get rid of it. It
- 5:50Speaker 1: just created more pain for me and I wasn't happy.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So what are some of the safe words that somebody
- 5:58Speaker 1: can use when they having a massaut.
- 6:00Speaker 3: We all, well, at least for me, I always say, well,
- 6:02Speaker 3: if it gets to be too much, let me know,
- 6:05Speaker 3: don't be afraid to speak up, because I want to
- 6:07Speaker 3: do the pressure that you're able to tolerate. And so
- 6:10Speaker 3: for a deep tissue, for some people, if it's hurting,
- 6:13Speaker 3: they might have went deep too fast because you have
- 6:15Speaker 3: to loosen the muscles up first to get the body
- 6:17Speaker 3: used to, especially if you haven't had a massage on
- 6:19Speaker 3: a long time. So for people that get massages on
- 6:21Speaker 3: the regular, which it could be bi weekly or monthly,
- 6:24Speaker 3: they can take deep tissue because that's what everybody is
- 6:26Speaker 3: used to. But if you haven't had one in over
- 6:28Speaker 3: a year or so, you need to just stick the su.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, just the sweetest because it's gonna hurt.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And the third one, the third one is sports massage, okay,
- 6:40Speaker 3: and so with that it includes more it's more fast
- 6:43Speaker 3: and stretching. If you play sports, so basketball, football, golf,
- 6:48Speaker 3: and you just really need to be stretched out and
- 6:49Speaker 3: loosened up. So it's a mixture of everything.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I tell you this. You know, I watch people walk
- 6:56Speaker 1: around a lot, you know, and I'm over sixty, and
- 7:00Speaker 1: I go, I don't walk like that, you know, they
- 7:03Speaker 1: walk leaning forward, or they they shrid, strides are short.
- 7:07Speaker 1: It is with my listeners, what what what are we
- 7:11Speaker 1: doing wrong? And how could you help us stand straight
- 7:14Speaker 1: and lengthen our strides.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Well, I always tell people in between massages, the best
- 7:19Speaker 3: thing you can do is stretch, okay, So if you
- 7:21Speaker 3: don't use it, you're gonna lose it. So you got
- 7:23Speaker 3: to lengthen your muscles. And the most people will.
- 7:25Speaker 1: When you say that, what do you mean lifting your
- 7:27Speaker 1: muscles stretching?
- 7:28Speaker 2: So they think that just doing theologize.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I guess I want some techniques.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Right, your example.
- 7:35Speaker 3: So most people think stretching is they're just doing this
- 7:38Speaker 3: and just moving around like, no, you gotta at least
- 7:41Speaker 3: hold it.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Thirty We're doing an audio podcast too. Now no, we
- 7:45Speaker 1: have cameras here, but can you're pulling your arm this?
- 7:49Speaker 3: Yeah, so you want to do head to shoulder like
- 7:52Speaker 3: the next stretch. Every stretch you do should be held
- 7:55Speaker 3: thirty seconds too. Many some people they think just doing rolls.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, stretching me not stretching.
- 8:00Speaker 3: You're just rolling your neck. Stretch is meant to be held.
- 8:04Speaker 3: So that's how you lengthen your muscles.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Okay, cool, So that was the like taking your arms, yes,
- 8:11Speaker 1: extremely to the right or to the left, yes, to
- 8:14Speaker 1: the left, holding.
- 8:15Speaker 2: It and that's the perfect stretch is.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Not a roll, but actually taking your hand and maybe
- 8:21Speaker 1: put add an additional pressure to pull it to the
- 8:23Speaker 1: right or to the left. That's the next stretching.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Correct.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Okay, now that's upper body. Okay, what about the core area?
- 8:31Speaker 3: The core well, I would say mainly the lower back.
- 8:33Speaker 3: When people have issuesky sitting a lot, I say I
- 8:37Speaker 3: always tell people cross your leg over, which men do,
- 8:41Speaker 3: and then just lean forward and it's going to stretch
- 8:43Speaker 3: all of your lower back, and I say, if you're
- 8:46Speaker 3: holding it long enough, you're going.
- 8:47Speaker 1: To feel the key is holding it.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yes, holding it.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Don't do one of these little one too. You're doing
- 8:55Speaker 3: nothing and the muscles haven't even engaged yet.
- 8:57Speaker 2: You already let go?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Okay, cool, now we got so that sounded like something
- 9:03Speaker 1: that I could actually do at my.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Desk, exactly, exactly.
- 9:07Speaker 3: So I always tell people to set a timer, especially
- 9:09Speaker 3: if you work at from home or sit at a desk,
- 9:11Speaker 3: set a timer every hour to stand up and stretch
- 9:13Speaker 3: because you need that. Because you get comfortable, you get
- 9:16Speaker 3: lost in work, you forget what time it is. Time slips.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Stretch is easy.
- 9:21Speaker 3: So you can either just cross your leg over, lean forward,
- 9:23Speaker 3: or you can turn left the right. Just hold it.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Cool Now, this is good because let me ask you this.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I fly a lot on a plane, which annoys because
- 9:37Speaker 1: everybody thinks, just you know, you can fly, you're sitting down,
- 9:40Speaker 1: that's what's what's the stress? What's the stress? But I
- 9:43Speaker 1: do feel stressed when I fly. So what techniques can
- 9:48Speaker 1: you offer the people who are sitting in a position
- 9:52Speaker 1: for a long period of time? Long periods of times
- 9:54Speaker 1: me like fifty minutes a longer. And that's basically on
- 9:58Speaker 1: a flight unless you get up and I try to
- 9:59Speaker 1: get periodical or in any flight, I do techniques of
- 10:03Speaker 1: what we can do from your experience being a massage therapist,
- 10:07Speaker 1: what we can help to make our life better on the.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Plane or off the plane.
- 10:12Speaker 3: On the plane, oh wow, well you know you don't
- 10:14Speaker 3: have that much room to stretch on the plane. So
- 10:18Speaker 3: mainly I'll say just stand up in the owl and
- 10:22Speaker 3: touch your toes so and like say hold it at
- 10:25Speaker 3: least thirty seconds to a minute, because that helps with
- 10:28Speaker 3: your lower back as well. Everything goes to your lower back.
- 10:31Speaker 3: As long as your.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Hips are loose, h you will be good.
- 10:34Speaker 3: So your hamstrings pull on your lower back, your quads
- 10:37Speaker 3: pull on your lower back. Everything leads to your lower back,
- 10:40Speaker 3: which makes everything tight. So stretch your hips because once
- 10:43Speaker 3: your hips are loose, everything else feels much better.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Let's let's just pull let's pull the cover off. You
- 10:49Speaker 1: are traveling barsage therapists, correct, So you rich and athletes
- 10:54Speaker 1: and you know, look, let's be real. Deshaun Watson made
- 10:58Speaker 1: the news. The kicking for the Altimore Ravens made the
- 11:01Speaker 1: news or how they was just they extended their their
- 11:05Speaker 1: ideas about what they wanted from a massage therapist. Then
- 11:09Speaker 1: the person wanted to both of them. One lost his
- 11:13Speaker 1: job in Baltimore and the other got a contract, but
- 11:16Speaker 1: he's a pariah in the community, and one has been
- 11:19Speaker 1: banned in all the Bazar therapy facilities in uh Baltimore.
- 11:24Speaker 1: How do you protect yourself, Jasmine?
- 11:27Speaker 2: With that?
- 11:28Speaker 3: If someone in books with me that I never met before,
- 11:32Speaker 3: I'll call them just to make sure. I'm like, hey,
- 11:35Speaker 3: what kind of massage are you looking for? And if
- 11:38Speaker 3: they start going.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Sideways, Oh yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I have people call and they're like do you They
- 11:44Speaker 3: just say do you provide neural or sensual massages?
- 11:47Speaker 2: And I just go ahead and say no, this is.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Therapeutic only, Okay.
- 11:52Speaker 2: So people are bold and they will call and ask.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Wow, yes. So so obviously if they're there are people
- 12:00Speaker 1: out there that's doing.
- 12:01Speaker 3: That exactly exactly. So it's been going on for a while.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I don't know if you heard, but a couple of
- 12:08Speaker 3: weeks ago and the Sandy Springs that it all arraid
- 12:11Speaker 3: at two massage parlors right because they were doing it Springs.
- 12:15Speaker 1: The location in Atlanta, Georgia kind of like an uploaded
- 12:18Speaker 1: mobile area of Atlanta, Georgia, and so they were doing
- 12:22Speaker 1: other things under just massage exactly. But that hurts your reputation,
- 12:27Speaker 1: doesn't hurt your business brand, doesn't it?
- 12:30Speaker 3: No, Because I'll let it out be known. That's not
- 12:32Speaker 3: what I provided my services, and people they respect that,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and like right now, I work a lot with the golfers.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I do the golf tournaments, and so they see me,
- 12:41Speaker 3: they get excited. They know everybody knows she's about her business.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Right right, right right. So I just won't get in
- 12:47Speaker 1: touch with you, Jazz.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You can call me, you can look me up on
- 12:52Speaker 3: Google Better Body's Massage and go on my website.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Talk really fast? What was that?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 12:57Speaker 3: You can go on my website Better bodiesatl dot com,
- 13:01Speaker 3: or you can google me at Better Bodies Massage.
- 13:05Speaker 2: You can find me there. You can say you can
- 13:08Speaker 2: call me.
- 13:08Speaker 3: My number is on there as well for zero four
- 13:11Speaker 3: five nine four eighteen thirty two, so I'm easy to find.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Really.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Now, you're a small business owner, we always have these
- 13:20Speaker 1: as you know, there's no guarantees. Can you talk to
- 13:23Speaker 1: my audience about being a small business owner and how
- 13:25Speaker 1: you started your business.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I started my business right after COVID during that time,
- 13:34Speaker 3: between twenty nineteen and twenty twenty one, I was working
- 13:37Speaker 3: at Hand and Stone and then I was like, okay,
- 13:39Speaker 3: during that time, I was building my own clientele up
- 13:43Speaker 3: and so on. How the COVID happened. I did that
- 13:46Speaker 3: last year and I said, all right, it's time to
- 13:48Speaker 3: branch out. And of course, you know, business is slow,
- 13:51Speaker 3: it has its moments, but you just continue to go
- 13:54Speaker 3: out there and network, introduce yourself, call around.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Let people notice what you do.
- 14:00Speaker 3: And right now I just use my network because a
- 14:03Speaker 3: lot of people know I know, either people either have
- 14:06Speaker 3: their own business or they work with someone that they
- 14:09Speaker 3: can use. So I'm like, hey, let me just call around.
- 14:12Speaker 3: And it's still constantly calling around, Hey can you use
- 14:15Speaker 3: my services? So some days it's easy and some days
- 14:19Speaker 3: it's like all right, I don't know.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Well, so when you travel, what do you travel with?
- 14:28Speaker 3: I have my table for the most part, always a
- 14:31Speaker 3: table for full body massages, but right now I'm leaning
- 14:34Speaker 3: more towards corporate events, so I do a lot of
- 14:37Speaker 3: chair massages, and I have a team that will go
- 14:40Speaker 3: out and do that as well.
- 14:41Speaker 2: You have a team, it's a small team.
- 14:44Speaker 3: I have contractors, Okay, So if I need extra hands,
- 14:47Speaker 3: I have contractors that all have come out with me.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So with that being said, what's the spa party?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Okay?
- 14:53Speaker 3: A spot party would be like if the ladies wanted
- 14:55Speaker 3: to do something for Mother's Day or Gallentine's They'll say, hey,
- 15:00Speaker 3: we want to do this. We're getting together and we
- 15:02Speaker 3: would love to have massages, and so I will come
- 15:04Speaker 3: or I have someone else come out and we will
- 15:06Speaker 3: do chair massages, and so they'll book us for like
- 15:09Speaker 3: two or three hours, so everyone will get maybe ten
- 15:11Speaker 3: or fifteen minutes, depending on how many women it is.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 15:17Speaker 1: money Making Conversations master Class. Now, I need for you

- 15:46Speaker 1: a seasonal up here where you're really hot everybody calling it?
- 15:50Speaker 1: Or is a slow periods?
- 15:53Speaker 3: I say, it's always slow between December and January, and
- 15:56Speaker 3: then of course February picks up because it's Valad we'll get.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Fined again exactly.
- 16:03Speaker 3: And then once April hits, I'm hitting the ground running
- 16:05Speaker 3: because it's golf tournament after golf tournament, so I travel
- 16:09Speaker 3: for those as well.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Okay, you know, I'm excited about this interview because first

- 16:19Speaker 2: Will travel, you know, you have follow the money.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You follow the money. Now, how were you able to
- 16:25Speaker 1: create these relationships when you say golf tournament?
- 16:30Speaker 2: I actually met a guy at the g s MBC.
- 16:34Speaker 2: What is that Georgia Minority?
- 16:37Speaker 1: What is the yes?
- 16:41Speaker 2: So I got because of the.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Fact that that's networking correct, Okay.
- 16:45Speaker 3: So I got certified in that. And then when we
- 16:47Speaker 3: had our was it the meeting, I met a guy
- 16:52Speaker 3: there that was also certified and he was like, oh,
- 16:54Speaker 3: we do golf tournaments.
- 16:55Speaker 2: You might be a good fit. And I was like, okay, well,
- 16:58Speaker 2: let me know what the event is.
- 16:59Speaker 3: So I started doing that last April, and so it's
- 17:02Speaker 3: about to be a year in and I've met so
- 17:05Speaker 3: had so many connections because every time I meet someone
- 17:07Speaker 3: at a golf tournament, someone else is in another golf
- 17:10Speaker 3: club or they know someone else and they're like, hey,
- 17:13Speaker 3: we want to we would love to have you out,
- 17:14Speaker 3: because we never experienced a massage therapist at the golf
- 17:17Speaker 3: course that the stretch us out before we t off.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I'm not a massage guy, you know, but I will
- 17:23Speaker 1: get a massage with the thought process that it's gonna
- 17:26Speaker 1: make me feel better exactly. Okay. Now when I say that,
- 17:30Speaker 1: here's the problem I have with the traveling massage people. Okay,
- 17:34Speaker 1: because I'm going to go to sleep, Okay, then I'm
- 17:37Speaker 1: gonna then any massage person let me. Then they gonna
- 17:41Speaker 1: wake me up. If somebody could just besides me and
- 17:45Speaker 1: just let me hang and just tap me on the
- 17:47Speaker 1: head and just walk out, I might be happy. What
- 17:51Speaker 1: bothers me a ruins. The moment for Rashan McDonald's is
- 17:55Speaker 1: to wake up, and you have to go up.
- 17:58Speaker 3: You have to wake up, okay, the only way that
- 18:00Speaker 3: will work.
- 18:01Speaker 2: And some of my clients and some of my clients
- 18:03Speaker 2: have this.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Okay, cool, so I'm not I'm not crazy.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I don't know, but some people have. This is if
- 18:11Speaker 3: you have your own massage table, I do. Okay, then
- 18:15Speaker 3: you have your al massage table.
- 18:17Speaker 2: You could stay there as long as you want to.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm gone, okay, cool.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Have your own table and you have your own everything.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Coolge. So how did you come up about setting your rates?
- 18:28Speaker 1: And then what are your rates?
- 18:29Speaker 2: Okay?
- 18:31Speaker 3: Well, of course you know, starting out, you're just trying
- 18:33Speaker 3: to build up your clientele, so everything.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Just start start out race.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Yeah, so I used to work hard, so I started.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I used to do I started with seventy five dollars,
- 18:42Speaker 3: and I used to do like fifty dollars, seventy dollars,
- 18:45Speaker 3: seventy five dollars for an hour and me coming to you,
- 18:46Speaker 3: that's a still.
- 18:48Speaker 1: That's I used and this was back there will flow exactly.
- 18:53Speaker 3: And you know, I was so surprised that people didn't
- 18:56Speaker 3: jump on it like I thought they would and I
- 18:57Speaker 3: would have a special fifty dollars Friday. I used to
- 19:00Speaker 3: work hard for the fifty dollars.
- 19:03Speaker 2: And so, you know, I thought a couple of years
- 19:05Speaker 2: went by.
- 19:05Speaker 3: You know, I know my worth and I want to
- 19:07Speaker 3: make sure everyone that I touch has a good massage
- 19:10Speaker 3: because I've had people complain and say, oh that was terrible.
- 19:13Speaker 2: All she did was just reblotion.
- 19:14Speaker 3: On me, and I'm like, oh yeah, no, everyone a massage.
- 19:18Speaker 3: They're going to have a great massage and you're going
- 19:20Speaker 3: to leave their happyople Whatever issue that you had, it's
- 19:23Speaker 3: going to be fixed.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Now. We talked about athletes and men. That's the preferred
- 19:27Speaker 1: choice of people you like the massage. Is there a
- 19:30Speaker 1: target audists the target age that you look at for
- 19:33Speaker 1: your clients, because it seems to me, it seems to
- 19:36Speaker 1: me like, first of all, I enjoy the way you're
- 19:38Speaker 1: talking approaching this. You know, when it's a bigger party,
- 19:41Speaker 1: bring contracted people to like at a spa party or
- 19:45Speaker 1: an event at a golf tournament where you need more
- 19:47Speaker 1: than just you. But it's under your umbrella, okay, under
- 19:51Speaker 1: your insurance. Everything is tied through your brand. But there
- 19:55Speaker 1: has to be a target audience that generally is the
- 19:58Speaker 1: people that you see out Who are they?
- 20:02Speaker 3: I want the big businesses that's where the money is
- 20:05Speaker 3: really No, yeah, so if the work work smarter than
- 20:08Speaker 3: not older. So my thing is to really do just
- 20:10Speaker 3: more corporate events where we just do chair massages. Okay,
- 20:13Speaker 3: because it's easy all that do just come in, set
- 20:15Speaker 3: up in and out. It's just you touch people for
- 20:18Speaker 3: ten maybe fifteen minutes and keep moving because most people,
- 20:21Speaker 3: most people, like I said, most people don't really get
- 20:23Speaker 3: massages like they should. So if I could just touch
- 20:26Speaker 3: them for that moment and still make my money and
- 20:28Speaker 3: go on by my way.
- 20:30Speaker 2: But everyone whatever is going.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I don't know, but I want to ask you this question.
- 20:39Speaker 1: You said in your my interview here or our introduce you.
- 20:43Speaker 1: You said alternative treatments. What exactly is that?
- 20:48Speaker 3: So with that they can do cuping, cupping. So I
- 20:52Speaker 3: don't know if you've ever seen like the athletes that
- 20:54Speaker 3: have like the circles on their back. Yeah, that's cupping.
- 20:59Speaker 1: So it's time to heat, isn't it.
- 21:03Speaker 2: You can do heat.
- 21:04Speaker 3: You can do it with heat, okay, But so it's
- 21:07Speaker 3: it's to help loosen up the blood.
- 21:09Speaker 1: So explain to my audience exactly what that is. I
- 21:13Speaker 1: gotta get you visual. You are just so just talking
- 21:17Speaker 1: a podcast. I know we got cameras because we do
- 21:20Speaker 1: video too, but I.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Got hands on. I should I should have brought my table.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:27Speaker 3: So cuffing is a form of where your muscles is
- 21:31Speaker 3: tight and it helps loosen it up, so it brings
- 21:34Speaker 3: out the bad blood and pulled in.
- 21:36Speaker 2: The good blood. So it's helping move it, flush it out.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But how do they do that? It's like, is it
- 21:40Speaker 1: one cup? It just moved through your what do you do?
- 21:43Speaker 2: You can do one cup and just move it up
- 21:45Speaker 2: and down the back or whatever the area.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Does it create a sumption?
- 21:49Speaker 2: It is? Ye, it's a suction.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Okay, okay, So so I got the cup right, and
- 21:54Speaker 1: then so what happens?
- 21:55Speaker 3: So you got the cup on there, so first you
- 21:57Speaker 3: pumped the cup. It's like air, that would normal. No,
- 22:03Speaker 3: so you help it suck so it'll suck to the body.
- 22:06Speaker 3: And so once you get in there, you can figure
- 22:08Speaker 3: out how tight or how loose you will want it
- 22:10Speaker 3: to be, and with that you can move it or
- 22:12Speaker 3: you can just sit it there and let the blood
- 22:13Speaker 3: come up.
- 22:14Speaker 1: So that so it just and you can just I'm
- 22:17Speaker 1: just using as an example. You create a suction and
- 22:21Speaker 1: you can just slide it down your back anybody just lifting.
- 22:26Speaker 1: It's almost like it's just kind of like lifting your
- 22:28Speaker 1: skin and recirculating stuff.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Yeah, in a way, it's helping that blood flow because
- 22:33Speaker 3: blood gets trapped and suck when you have like a
- 22:36Speaker 3: nod or adhesion. It's trapped there, so the blood is
- 22:40Speaker 3: trying to find another way to go through the body.
- 22:42Speaker 3: So that's just another form of loosening it I've never
- 22:45Speaker 3: heard of before.
- 22:46Speaker 1: That sounds interesting. Yes, oh wow, conversation massacree. Let me
- 22:53Speaker 1: ask you this question too, well, I'm asking you, just
- 22:55Speaker 1: ask me what is the what's the experience? I should say,
- 22:59Speaker 1: what is the jazz and the experience that you bring
- 23:02Speaker 1: to the table. Even though like if you sit in
- 23:05Speaker 1: the studio, you walk in, you hear the room with
- 23:08Speaker 1: the music. You know, they sit you in a room,
- 23:12Speaker 1: give you a little steal water, you got your little
- 23:15Speaker 1: sandals on, but you're not doing that. You're traveling, correct,
- 23:19Speaker 1: What experience do you bring?
- 23:21Speaker 3: So my experience is it's all about you. So we're
- 23:25Speaker 3: in the comfort of your home. So you can play
- 23:27Speaker 3: whatever music you want to play, whatever helps you relax.
- 23:29Speaker 3: You don't have to listen to the birds or water.
- 23:32Speaker 3: If you want to listen to some instrumentals, jazz or
- 23:34Speaker 3: whatever helps you relax, you can do that because you're
- 23:37Speaker 3: in the comfort of your home. Right And like I said,
- 23:40Speaker 3: once you do that and once you once we're done,
- 23:42Speaker 3: the best part is you don't have to get dressed
- 23:45Speaker 3: in and get out of traffic. You're at home, so
- 23:48Speaker 3: you just roll over in bed. Everybody is comfortable, and
- 23:51Speaker 3: so that's that's the experience. You just get to be
- 23:53Speaker 3: yourself at home.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Okay. Cool. Now a part of this whole process is
- 23:57Speaker 1: getting paid. Okay, how does that work with you? You know,
- 24:03Speaker 1: here's my whole thing. Now, First of all, I commend
- 24:05Speaker 1: you you you're a courageous person. And I got to
- 24:08Speaker 1: say that honestly, because in the world we live in,
- 24:11Speaker 1: there's a lot of crazy stuff going on out there.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And you're in a business where you're asking people to
- 24:16Speaker 1: take off their clothes, which is even more like really
- 24:20Speaker 1: that's what you do with jazz. Youre going to some people,
- 24:23Speaker 1: even though you know them or not, you still asking
- 24:25Speaker 1: them to take off their clothes so that one day
- 24:28Speaker 1: of the year they can be crazy. Okay, correct? And
- 24:30Speaker 1: then then now you're asking them for money. How does
- 24:34Speaker 1: the payment system work?
- 24:36Speaker 3: So I can get paid either if you book on
- 24:38Speaker 3: my website, you can go ahead and pay in advance,
- 24:41Speaker 3: use your card, I use tab zay'll cash up. I
- 24:46Speaker 3: pretty much take any form of payment itself.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Like I got it all. Thenomo I'm getting paid. I'm
- 24:53Speaker 2: leaving here with something.
- 24:58Speaker 1: That's very very funny. A And now again before we go,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I want people to understand how they can book you.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Once again, you can book me on my website, which
- 25:07Speaker 3: is Better bodiesatl dot com.
- 25:10Speaker 1: As we close out this interview, you know and you're
- 25:12Speaker 1: you're what's the future? What do you want to go?
- 25:15Speaker 1: You know you you an individual, but you do hire contractors.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Are you trying to create a franchise, a traveling franchise?
- 25:22Speaker 1: What's the goal? Because I know that you don't want
- 25:25Speaker 1: to be you know, you want mailbox money like everybody
- 25:28Speaker 1: else want mailbox money. What is the end goal for
- 25:30Speaker 1: Jasmine Hood?
- 25:31Speaker 3: Yes, I do not plan on being hands on forever.
- 25:35Speaker 3: The goal is right now, I'm putting in the sweat equity, okay,
- 25:38Speaker 3: building my brand up. And the goal is just to
- 25:41Speaker 3: have a team of contractors where I can just send
- 25:44Speaker 3: them out where they're needed, just for chair massage.
- 25:46Speaker 1: So what is what is your brain? What is your brain?
- 25:49Speaker 1: You said it? What is your brand up? What are
- 25:51Speaker 1: you building up?
- 25:52Speaker 3: I'm building no Better Bodies. Everyone is going to know
- 25:55Speaker 3: this is the Moba massarge therapist. She can come out
- 25:58Speaker 3: for the golf tournaments.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Corporate events.
- 26:00Speaker 3: I do schools, nursing homes, just anywhere that's needed.
- 26:05Speaker 2: That's that's bare the bodies.
- 26:06Speaker 1: And with that being said, so when they go to
- 26:08Speaker 1: the website, can they contact you through the website?
- 26:11Speaker 3: They absolutely can. They can fill out a form or
- 26:14Speaker 3: they can just call me or email me.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It's all there.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Okay, cool? With that being said, my friend, I've interviewed
- 26:22Speaker 1: uh massage therapists on the show before, but never a
- 26:27Speaker 1: traveling massage therapist before, which I when I saw it,
- 26:31Speaker 1: I'd say, I want to talk to her, because you know,
- 26:34Speaker 1: we live in a world that you know, you have
- 26:36Speaker 1: to be cautious about the environment you walk into and
- 26:40Speaker 1: if you have to get any any anybody advice, mail
- 26:43Speaker 1: off email, what were some of the downside of what
- 26:46Speaker 1: you're doing, which is not so much down that as negative,
- 26:49Speaker 1: but you know, there are some struggles we all encounter,
- 26:52Speaker 1: and then what makes you feel good about your job.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Luckily, I have not ran into too many crazy people
- 27:00Speaker 3: besides the ones that actually just call and ask about
- 27:03Speaker 3: the ahead of time. Yes, and so me being that,
- 27:06Speaker 3: I haven't been in a situation where it's like, oh,
- 27:08Speaker 3: you have been uncomfortable exactly, or my back is against
- 27:11Speaker 3: the wall. But I always say just always let the
- 27:14Speaker 3: people out. If it's someone new, I always make sure
- 27:16Speaker 3: I see them in the daytime. There's no evenings. I
- 27:19Speaker 3: take my last appointment at seven pm, so it's like
- 27:22Speaker 3: if i'd never seen you on massage before. It gotta
- 27:25Speaker 3: be early in the morning or early afternoon. That's just
- 27:28Speaker 3: to protect myself and I always have my location on
- 27:32Speaker 3: people going to know, hey, I'm seeing a new client.
- 27:35Speaker 2: If you don't hear back, check on me.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Well, my friend. Thank you for coming to my sh
