- 0:00This is that moment of excitement where all creation is looking forward, apprehensive
- 0:06maybe, excited, a little scared about the coming of the Messiah and the beginning of
- 0:11the redemption and all creation groans for the true redemption of God which is yet to
- 0:16come.
- 0:17I'm thinking today of Luke chapter 2.
- 0:20It says in verse 15 of Luke chapter 2, when the angels had departed from them into heaven,
- 0:26the shepherds began saying to one another, let's go straight to Bethlehem then and see
- 0:33this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.
- 0:36A couple of things I love about this verse.
- 0:38The first one is the certainty.
- 0:41After having seen the angels singing in the sky and declaring the birth of a savior and
- 0:45even the pronouncement of a sign that it would be found as a babe wrapped in a manger in
- 0:49swaddling cloth, wrapped in swaddling cloth in a manger, there you go, even though they
- 0:55had heard all that, they said, let us go and see this thing that has happened that the
- 1:00Lord has made known to us.
- 1:01And that's a pretty significant statement that they believed what they had been told
- 1:06and of course they would because it was told in such a flashy way but they said, let us
- 1:10go and see.
- 1:12On Christmas Eve every year, we have a Christmas Eve service at New Heights and it's been faithful
- 1:17every year for over two decades and we're doing it again at seven o'clock on Christmas
- 1:22Eve and you're welcome to come and join us and we always close out with candlelight.
- 1:25One of the things that just has amazed me is just the reverence and the excitement in
- 1:32the room as we recognize that only God could do this.
- 1:37Get in your local church and see what God is doing.
- 1:39He is busy in our day making an impact.
