- 0:00Speaker 1: Easter is special and it's one of our favorite days.
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's one of our favorite periods of time. We're honoring
- 0:07Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, and we're gonna honor Jesus Christ very powerfully
- 0:11Speaker 1: throughout our lives.
- 0:12Speaker 2: All throughout our lives.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We're bringing religion back in America. We're bringing a lot
- 0:17Speaker 1: of things back, but religion is coming back to America.
- 0:21Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Good Tuesday morning. It is the forty seven Morning Update
- 0:27Speaker 2: from Washington, d C. At the White House, and it's
- 0:30Speaker 2: nice to have you with us. We have three major
- 0:33Speaker 2: stories for you, including a big lie from the media
- 0:36Speaker 2: claiming that Donald Trump's looking to replace Pete Headseth at
- 0:41Speaker 2: the Department of Defense. Well, we've got the answer on
- 0:44Speaker 2: that from the President himself, and I'm gonna give you
- 0:47Speaker 2: a hint. It's a big lie. Also, Pope Francis has
- 0:51Speaker 2: passed away and now there are conservatives they are among
- 0:55Speaker 2: the top candidates to be the next pope. We'll break
- 0:58Speaker 2: down what this could mean for the Catholic faith. And finally,
- 1:02Speaker 2: the President spent some quality time at the Easter egg
- 1:04Speaker 2: role at the White House with family and friends and
- 1:07Speaker 2: made it very clear what the meaning of Easter is
- 1:10Speaker 2: and why it's important to this country. But he was
- 1:13Speaker 2: also doing work for the American people by meeting with
- 1:15Speaker 2: retail CEOs talking about the tariffs. And I'll give you
- 1:19Speaker 2: the latest from those conversations. It's the forty seven Morning
- 1:23Speaker 2: Update and it starts right now.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 1:26Speaker 2: So apparently there's no better place to start a live
- 1:29Speaker 2: than at the Easter egg roll with all the kids
- 1:32Speaker 2: having a grand time at the White House. Full disclosure,
- 1:35Speaker 2: I was there for it, but the media was doing
- 1:37Speaker 2: their thing, including starting the nasty rumor that Donald Trump
- 1:41Speaker 2: had lost all confidence and is looking to replace the
- 1:45Speaker 2: man in charge at the Pentagon. Pete Headset. Now, the
- 1:48Speaker 2: US Secretary of Defense and former Fox News host, is
- 1:52Speaker 2: quote facing mounting pressure amid reports that he shared since
- 1:56Speaker 2: the military information in private signaled chats. You saw this
- 2:00Speaker 2: gets spun up a few weeks ago by the media
- 2:03Speaker 2: now in this news story at the Easter egg roll
- 2:05Speaker 2: that apparently his wife and brother and a personal attorney
- 2:09Speaker 2: were also on some of the chats. This now is
- 2:13Speaker 2: leading quote a bipartisan attack criticism and speculation about his
- 2:19Speaker 2: quote unquote potential dismissal. Now, let's go back to the
- 2:23Speaker 2: core of this controversy. It began when it was revealed
- 2:26Speaker 2: that had set that shared details of a US military
- 2:29Speaker 2: operation in Yemen in a private signal chat. One of
- 2:33Speaker 2: those chats included apparently a reporter that we know that
- 2:38Speaker 2: that Atlantic journalist was very excited to tell all the
- 2:41Speaker 2: details to anyone that would sit down and interview him.
- 2:44Speaker 2: They were hoping that would undermine the present and make
- 2:46Speaker 2: the American people lose faith in Donald Trump and Pete
- 2:50Speaker 2: at the Pentagon. Well, it didn't work. In fact, the
- 2:53Speaker 2: American people were in pressed. They were killing terrorists and
- 2:56Speaker 2: they weren't too worried about well the mean girls club.
- 2:59Speaker 2: So fast forward to the Easter Egg role. And now
- 3:01Speaker 2: there's a new controversy that his brother and his personal
- 3:04Speaker 2: attorney his wife may have been on one of those
- 3:06Speaker 2: signal chats as well. And apparently this is a huge
- 3:10Speaker 2: rift between the President and Pete. And now there's a
- 3:13Speaker 2: potential dismissal. Well, guess what it's all live. How do
- 3:17Speaker 2: we know the President of the United States of America
- 3:19Speaker 2: was asked about the man he put in charge of
- 3:21Speaker 2: the Pentagon at the East dreg role. Yes, you're gonna
- 3:24Speaker 2: hear families being normal, having fun, kids laughing, You're gonna
- 3:28Speaker 2: hear music in the background in tubas, and then you're
- 3:31Speaker 2: gonna hear the president roll his eyes and laugh at
- 3:34Speaker 2: the media. Here's what it sounded like in real time, coffing.
- 3:40Speaker 1: A trumping on why why do you even ask your questions?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a two important this weeka that he
- 3:45Speaker 2: uses in a supper chat that I put in some family.
- 3:48Speaker 2: That's it's the same old stuff from the media.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's an old one. Try finding something new.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I love how the President says at the very end,
- 4:00Speaker 2: it's just the same old stuff from the media. That's
- 4:03Speaker 2: an old one. Try something new. He's absolutely right. The
- 4:06Speaker 2: media trying to regurgitate a story that failed a few
- 4:09Speaker 2: weeks ago to try to get back up again and
- 4:11Speaker 2: act like there's a new controversy. And if you go
- 4:14Speaker 2: to the beginning of what the reporter said, he said, quote,
- 4:16Speaker 2: do you remain confident in pete Headseith? What did Donald
- 4:19Speaker 2: Trump say? Oh? Totally? Why do you even ask a
- 4:23Speaker 2: question like that? So if you want to know what
- 4:25Speaker 2: the fact checkers need to do, they need to rate
- 4:28Speaker 2: this new story as nothing but false. But don't worry,
- 4:30Speaker 2: they won't because, let's be honest, it's the liberal media
- 4:33Speaker 2: doing everything they can to undermine Donald Trump and yet
- 4:36Speaker 2: again failing at that job.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Next story number two.
- 4:40Speaker 2: In the wake of Pope Francis passing on Easter Monday,
- 4:43Speaker 2: the Catholic Church will begin the process of selecting the
- 4:47Speaker 2: next Bishop of Rome, thereby saying the future course of
- 4:50Speaker 2: the church and it's one point three billion followers, Now,
- 4:55Speaker 2: how does this work. Within fifteen to twenty days of
- 4:58Speaker 2: the death of the Pope, a concl of the College
- 5:01Speaker 2: of Cardinals will be convened within the Assistant Chapel in
- 5:05Speaker 2: the Vatican, where they will hold a secret ballot vote
- 5:08Speaker 2: to elect the next leader of the Catholic Faith. Now,
- 5:12Speaker 2: during his twelve years at the helm of the Church,
- 5:14Speaker 2: Pope Francis played a heavy focus on social justice issues
- 5:19Speaker 2: such as tolerance towards the LGBTQ plus community, as well
- 5:24Speaker 2: as activating and advocating for climate change in the church,
- 5:28Speaker 2: as well as advocating for mass migration in what some
- 5:32Speaker 2: regarded as a split from the church doctrine. Well, now,
- 5:36Speaker 2: this could be a big change, as there are several
- 5:39Speaker 2: conservatives there apparently in the running to take over in
- 5:43Speaker 2: the new role. Now President Donald Trump has publicly expressed
- 5:47Speaker 2: his condolences following the death of Pope Francis and confirmed
- 5:51Speaker 2: that he and the First Lady Milannia Trump will attend
- 5:53Speaker 2: the funeral in Rome and a true social post, Trump said,
- 5:57Speaker 2: rest in peace, Pope Francis. Make God bless him and
- 6:01Speaker 2: all who loved him. Later that day, he added, Melanie
- 6:04Speaker 2: and I will be going to the funeral of Pope
- 6:06Speaker 2: Francis in Rome. We look forward to being there. At
- 6:09Speaker 2: the White House easterg Roll, Trump describe Pope Francis as
- 6:12Speaker 2: a very good man who loved, loved, loved the world,
- 6:16Speaker 2: and he especially loved people that were having a hard time.
- 6:20Speaker 2: He also ordered that all US federal and military flags
- 6:24Speaker 2: be flown at half staff until sunset on the day
- 6:27Speaker 2: of the Pope's internment. Now, Pope Francis, as I mentioned,
- 6:31Speaker 2: passed away at the age of eighty eight due to
- 6:33Speaker 2: complications from a stroke and heart failure. His funerals expected
- 6:37Speaker 2: to take place at Saint Peter Square within the next week,
- 6:40Speaker 2: following then a nine day morning period. Despite past ideological differences,
- 6:46Speaker 2: particularly over the issue of immigration, policies. Trump's tributes have
- 6:50Speaker 2: emphasized respect for Pope Francis, compassion, and global influence. What
- 6:55Speaker 2: we also know is this could be a new day
- 6:58Speaker 2: for the Catholic Church as now many of the church
- 7:01Speaker 2: say it's time to bring someone who is back to
- 7:03Speaker 2: the more traditional values, and there are several individuals on
- 7:08Speaker 2: that list that are currently apparently in the running. Currently,
- 7:12Speaker 2: one of the favorites is a sixty seven year old
- 7:15Speaker 2: Tangle would perhaps best represent a continuity papacy, having been
- 7:19Speaker 2: described as the Asian Pope Francis. If elected, the Filipino
- 7:24Speaker 2: cardinal would become the first pope chosen from Asia after
- 7:28Speaker 2: Francis became the first Pope from South America. Now, the
- 7:32Speaker 2: question is what will the Church do when it comes
- 7:35Speaker 2: to listening to the people. There are many out there
- 7:38Speaker 2: that are saying it's time for the people in the
- 7:41Speaker 2: faith to be listened to much more than they have
- 7:43Speaker 2: in the past, and so now with social media in
- 7:47Speaker 2: so many other ways for people to make their voices heard,
- 7:50Speaker 2: the question becomes will the Vatican listen to what the
- 7:54Speaker 2: people around the world in the Catholic Faith say they
- 7:57Speaker 2: want from their next pope?
- 7:58Speaker 3: And finally, story number three.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Monday was a very big day at the White House,
- 8:02Speaker 2: not just because it was the Easter egg role, but
- 8:04Speaker 2: Donald Trump also met with major US retailers to discuss tariffs.
- 8:09Speaker 2: This time, the President set down with major retailers including Walmart,
- 8:14Speaker 2: Home Depot, Low's, and Target to discuss the broad based
- 8:18Speaker 2: tariffs likely to raise the cost of everyday goods that
- 8:21Speaker 2: they import. Now, big US chains like Walmart and Target
- 8:25Speaker 2: they rely heavily on imported goods, and tariffs including one
- 8:29Speaker 2: hundred and forty five percent levies on China, are expected.
- 8:33Speaker 2: They claim to add strain on Americans already burdened by
- 8:37Speaker 2: prolonged inflation. That is obviously their talking point is they
- 8:41Speaker 2: want everything to go back to cheap Chinese goods, regardless
- 8:45Speaker 2: of what it means for American workers. Now, this meeting
- 8:49Speaker 2: was important and it adds to what we have seen
- 8:52Speaker 2: over the last several weeks as prominent CEOs of express
- 8:56Speaker 2: support for President Donald Trump's economic policies, highlighting potential benefits
- 9:01Speaker 2: for their industries as well in the long term. The
- 9:04Speaker 2: CEO of JP Morgan Chase has acknowledged the strategic use
- 9:08Speaker 2: of Terriss's economic tools, stating that if they are slightly
- 9:12Speaker 2: inflammatory but beneficial for national security, then it's acceptable. The
- 9:17Speaker 2: CEO of Goldman Sachs know that the business community understands
- 9:20Speaker 2: the administration's engagement and appreciates the efforts to involve them
- 9:25Speaker 2: in policy discussions, which is exactly why the President decided
- 9:29Speaker 2: to bring in companies like Low's and Walmart and home
- 9:32Speaker 2: Depot and Target. The CEO of Bank of America also
- 9:35Speaker 2: highlighted that favorable regulatory changes under Trump's administration could provide
- 9:40Speaker 2: companies with the certainty to be more aggressive as interest
- 9:43Speaker 2: rates decrease. Additionally, as you know, tech leaders like Elon Moss,
- 9:48Speaker 2: Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos have showed interest in engaging
- 9:52Speaker 2: with Trump's administration, drawing to his pro growth agenda and
- 9:56Speaker 2: favorable economic policies such as tax cuts and and major
- 10:01Speaker 2: issues of deregulation. Now, these developments indicate a trend among
- 10:05Speaker 2: corporate leaders to align with President Trump's economic policies, focusing
- 10:10Speaker 2: on potential benefits such as tax reductions, deregulation, and increase
- 10:15Speaker 2: capital investment. Now, as for these new companies that have
- 10:18Speaker 2: come to the table like Walmart and Home Depot, one
- 10:21Speaker 2: of the things the President has made clear things are
- 10:23Speaker 2: going to change. It may not be what's best for
- 10:26Speaker 2: your company the short term, but it's what's best for
- 10:29Speaker 2: Americans in the long term, including American workers. He's also
- 10:33Speaker 2: making it clear to these companies that Liberation Day included
- 10:38Speaker 2: allowing American workers to get back into manufacturing, and that's
- 10:42Speaker 2: exactly what the message need to be to so many
- 10:44Speaker 2: of these companies that were relying on cheap goods and
- 10:48Speaker 2: cheap labor in China. Trump's tariff policies have obviously sent
- 10:52Speaker 2: ripples across numerous industries around the world, and the President
- 10:56Speaker 2: said that was all part of the strategy. Now, US
- 10:59Speaker 2: styles are going up and down, as many are expecting
- 11:02Speaker 2: with benchmark tenure, Treasury notes and the US style are
- 11:05Speaker 2: also coming under some pressure, but the present made it
- 11:09Speaker 2: clear this is short term for a massive shift in
- 11:12Speaker 2: how this country works when it comes to importing goods
- 11:15Speaker 2: from countries, especially that are adversaries to the United States
- 11:18Speaker 2: of America, and having these important conversations the White House
- 11:22Speaker 2: clearly means that the conversation is moving forward and getting
- 11:26Speaker 2: closer to resolution.
