- 1:43Speaker 1: I have with her when she comes on this show.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Please welco with the money Making Conversation master Class. Melody Chari,
- 1:49Speaker 1: How you doing? Melody? Hey, Hey, hi everyone, how are
- 1:53Speaker 1: you doing? Look at this? Look? You know, I always
- 1:56Speaker 1: enjoy getting a chance to come and talk with you. Well,
- 1:59Speaker 1: you know, because been a journey with us, you know,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and throughout that journey, you know, when when I met you,
- 2:04Speaker 1: you guys were a couple and inspiring to get into
- 2:07Speaker 1: this lane of television. But you had aspirations always about
- 2:11Speaker 1: what you want, and that's what I've always loved about
- 2:14Speaker 1: you know when I always tell people when you are
- 2:16Speaker 1: a couple, that doesn't mean you have to deny your
- 2:19Speaker 1: dreams and your aspirations and your opportunity to be successful.
- 2:22Speaker 1: A couple doesn't mean you have the couple. It means
- 2:25Speaker 1: that they're shared opportunities and once your support the other
- 2:29Speaker 1: in the process. But don't ever deny your dreams when
- 2:32Speaker 1: you are married, or you're in a relationship or in
- 2:34Speaker 1: a partnership, because it only works if both people are
- 2:38Speaker 1: giving max effort, and it only works if both people
- 2:41Speaker 1: respect each other's aspirations or dreams and in turn helped
- 2:45Speaker 1: support each other getting to the next level. Talk about
- 2:48Speaker 1: your dreams and talk about so far the journey that
- 2:51Speaker 1: you're making. Right now, we're gonna talk a lot. We're
- 2:53Speaker 1: gonna slow this down because she has a lot to
- 2:54Speaker 1: talk about. I feel very honored to have Melody takes
- 2:58Speaker 1: since aside twenty five minutes of time to talk her
- 3:00Speaker 1: career and the future. So where are we at right now? Melody?
- 3:05Speaker 1: You know I will to payback off of what you
- 3:08Speaker 1: just stated, I will say that you know, I've always
- 3:12Speaker 1: you know, loved and enjoyed singing. My first performance was
- 3:15Speaker 1: when I was five, and from there i was always
- 3:19Speaker 1: singing on television, doing padgets talent shows, playing keyboard at
- 3:24Speaker 1: the church and in the prey on the praise and
- 3:26Speaker 1: worship team. And so I've always had a love for
- 3:30Speaker 1: the arts being in place, right, I've always had a
- 3:33Speaker 1: love for the arts, and so what I am seeing
- 3:36Speaker 1: right now is literally the thing that God gifted me with,
- 3:40Speaker 1: um that started in my early years. I'm seeing it
- 3:42Speaker 1: come to fruition. Um, I'm seeing me God opening doors
- 3:46Speaker 1: for me in the same arena of arts and entertainment
- 3:49Speaker 1: and me being able to you know, pursue my music career,
- 3:53Speaker 1: acting and hosting, producing, and so for me right now,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I'm in a phase and stage of thankfulness and gratefulness.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I am just super super excited about everything that God
- 4:06Speaker 1: has in stored despite the obstacles that I've gone through
- 4:10Speaker 1: and I've experienced. As you mentioned, it is important that
- 4:15Speaker 1: you know when you're a spouse, when you're married to
- 4:18Speaker 1: still support one another in your dreams and your you
- 4:21Speaker 1: know your aspirations which includes as well making sure that
- 4:25Speaker 1: your mate is in the best place when it comes
- 4:28Speaker 1: to their mental well being, their emotional well being, because
- 4:31Speaker 1: it's something about what you can do when you are
- 4:34Speaker 1: in a great space mentally and emotionally, Melanie. Because you
- 4:40Speaker 1: know when people I always tell people are calling multi
- 4:43Speaker 1: level or multi tier levels of income, multi tier levels
- 4:46Speaker 1: of opportunities. And when I say that, some people say
- 4:49Speaker 1: we shouldn't stop now. I'm sure some people go, you know,
- 4:52Speaker 1: Melani needed to go somewhere and sit down. Now, she's sanking.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Come on now. That's why it's important that people need
- 4:57Speaker 1: to hear that this is not something you thought of
- 4:59Speaker 1: last week. This is part of your d N, a
- 5:01Speaker 1: part of your life. So I didn't know you had
- 5:04Speaker 1: a skill, a skill outside of thing. I know you
- 5:07Speaker 1: can see, but you go about that. You know, I
- 5:08Speaker 1: can get it the keyboard and do my thing too.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So really, I've said this many times on my show
- 5:14Speaker 1: that you know, the eighteen forty and sixty a key
- 5:19Speaker 1: aide key parameters as far as what you want to
- 5:22Speaker 1: do with your life, because eighteen that's when you're in
- 5:23Speaker 1: free spirit, you know, that's when you want to do
- 5:26Speaker 1: all these things and somewhere Aloneline in your kids. You
- 5:28Speaker 1: got married, and sometimes when you get married, became a
- 5:31Speaker 1: parent positive the parents, you supported, your husband, and y'all
- 5:34Speaker 1: were still doing things together, but still not the things
- 5:38Speaker 1: that you could do. So right now in your life,
- 5:41Speaker 1: am I saying it correctly? You're now doing the things
- 5:43Speaker 1: that you want to do and can do and should do.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Correct Absolutely absolutely. And it's funny that you get at
- 5:51Speaker 1: those different age ranges because I'm thirty six, and so
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know, I still have a few more years to
- 5:56Speaker 1: go before I hit forty. But I'm closer to forty
- 5:59Speaker 1: than i am eighteen our thirty, that's for sure. Um.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And you know, many of us have many talents. You know,
- 6:06Speaker 1: we have a story in the Bible where it talks
- 6:08Speaker 1: about where people were given different talents, right, and so
- 6:13Speaker 1: even sometimes when you know, I've gone on social media
- 6:16Speaker 1: and I've been playing the keyboard while I'm singing, and
- 6:18Speaker 1: people are like, oh my gosh, I didn't know she
- 6:20Speaker 1: knew how to play. You know, Um, we all have talents.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And I feel like in due time and in due season,
- 6:29Speaker 1: you know, those things show their head again and they show, hey,
- 6:32Speaker 1: look this is here, this was instilled in you. This
- 6:36Speaker 1: is a gift that was God given. And so me
- 6:38Speaker 1: walking in my purpose and walking in that and being
- 6:42Speaker 1: you know, using that, you know to help other people,
- 6:45Speaker 1: specifically women who can relate to my music. You know,
- 6:48Speaker 1: for me, that's exactly where I'm supposed to be now
- 6:52Speaker 1: now when you talk about your music, because the beauty
- 6:54Speaker 1: of when I say that, we're beauty, because you are
- 6:56Speaker 1: a beautiful person. And sometimes people will use that against you,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you know, and say that, you know, oh, she's just
- 7:04Speaker 1: getting that because she's attractive. Of she's just getting that.
- 7:07Speaker 1: My whole thing is that I have six sisters, so
- 7:09Speaker 1: I get really sensitive when people start getting into that
- 7:13Speaker 1: that that that gender bending about this is why they
- 7:16Speaker 1: are successful. I love the fact that I've seen you
- 7:19Speaker 1: grow and I want to be in a relationship with
- 7:21Speaker 1: you with the next twenty years so I can see
- 7:23Speaker 1: that hopefully that the next end game, because I do
- 7:26Speaker 1: feel that when I said the word eighteen and forty,
- 7:29Speaker 1: well she's doing everybody is that a lot of times
- 7:32Speaker 1: when people have not accomplished their dreams or not living
- 7:35Speaker 1: their dreams, when they get the forty, they feel depressed.
- 7:37Speaker 1: They feel that they feel that they can't do anything
- 7:39Speaker 1: other than what they're doing at that time. At forty,
- 7:42Speaker 1: they feel that there's no future. She's said the word
- 7:45Speaker 1: thirty six. She's four away from forty. But guess what
- 7:48Speaker 1: she's not doing what she wants to do in her
- 7:49Speaker 1: life and can do. That's important And I really I
- 7:53Speaker 1: want to use this episode of interviewing you as a
- 7:55Speaker 1: motivating factor, not only for your fans, because a lot
- 7:58Speaker 1: of people who will be hearing this interview Melody Schari
- 8:01Speaker 1: for the first time. Let's write Shari for the first time.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We'll understand she's an independent thinker, and you are a
- 8:06Speaker 1: brand now officially called Melody Shari. Correct. Absolutely yes, And
- 8:11Speaker 1: you know, speaking of that, you know, I spent many
- 8:14Speaker 1: years where of course when I was married, building a
- 8:17Speaker 1: brand as this power couple, power duo in business together
- 8:21Speaker 1: and so now me having to rebrand myself solo, and
- 8:26Speaker 1: then of course after being divorced, going from Melody Hole
- 8:29Speaker 1: to Melody Shari and UM. I will tell anyone that
- 8:33Speaker 1: hard work is definitely where it's at. UM. You know,
- 8:37Speaker 1: you have to have a strong work ethic with anything
- 8:39Speaker 1: that you do. I literally had a conversation UM yesterday
- 8:44Speaker 1: and I told them, yeah, I actually did my song
- 8:47Speaker 1: on Sunday. I went in the studio, recorded my song Sunday,
- 8:51Speaker 1: did the cover shoot on Tuesday, dropped it on Saturday.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And they said, WHOA, you did all that in a week.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I said absolutely, And I went and recorded my other
- 8:59Speaker 1: song on that Wednesday and they were like wow. UM.
- 9:03Speaker 1: To say my work ethic is unmatched, um, that would
- 9:06Speaker 1: be an understatement. I don't look or expect anything to
- 9:10Speaker 1: be handed or given to me, um. But I believe
- 9:13Speaker 1: in working hard and my my mindset is as long
- 9:17Speaker 1: as I'm moving, God will meet me where I need
- 9:20Speaker 1: to be meant to make sure I get to where
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm trying to go. So I wake up early three
- 9:25Speaker 1: or four o'clock in the morning. I'm there every day
- 9:31Speaker 1: for the weekends, absolutely even for me, even all the weekends,
- 9:35Speaker 1: and I utilize every minute, every second of the day, um,
- 9:39Speaker 1: to make sure that I don't feel like something didn't
- 9:42Speaker 1: get handled because I decided to, you know, not put
- 9:46Speaker 1: my all into the day. And so you have to
- 9:49Speaker 1: be willing to make those sacrifices you have to. But
- 9:53Speaker 1: that comes from it being in your heart and something
- 9:56Speaker 1: in your heart, and UM, it means a lot to
- 9:59Speaker 1: you your gonna put in the work. You know, when
- 10:01Speaker 1: you're passionate about it, you're gonna put in the world.
- 10:04Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more Money Making Conversations Master

- 11:07Speaker 1: m LS Consumer Access Dot or now let's return to
- 11:11Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. Well, you know,
- 11:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna back up a little bit here and your
- 11:17Speaker 1: journey and the journey watching you become who you are today,
- 11:21Speaker 1: and believe me, there is a even brighter future for her.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I don't want to limit like this is her. She's
- 11:26Speaker 1: gonna drop a single, drop another single. Her heart entrepreneurship
- 11:29Speaker 1: and her giveback has always been strong. In fact, you've
- 11:31Speaker 1: seen it and some of the episodes of Loving Marriage
- 11:35Speaker 1: Holly Huntsville when she was starting her own podcast type
- 11:38Speaker 1: set up and trying to get her voice out there
- 11:40Speaker 1: and trying to tell everybody her story. And that started
- 11:43Speaker 1: with the master classes. And I remember you said, Rashan,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna start these masterclasses and you start rolling it
- 11:48Speaker 1: out on your Instagram account. Why was there that? I
- 11:52Speaker 1: think that was the first foray until you really starting
- 11:55Speaker 1: establishing your brand and then we're gonna talk about the
- 11:57Speaker 1: makeup line. But that was the first part of stepping
- 12:00Speaker 1: out of the entrepreneurs and out of the entrepreneur entrepreneurship
- 12:03Speaker 1: lane as yourself and sharing your knowledge with other people,
- 12:07Speaker 1: especially women correct well, yes, especially women. You know, I've
- 12:11Speaker 1: had UM a situation where I'd actually been heavily a
- 12:15Speaker 1: part of UM a friend getting into this industry called
- 12:19Speaker 1: property preservation, and so it was successful, and UM, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 1: there was something in me that says, you know what,
- 12:24Speaker 1: if I can do it once, I can do it again.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And you know, I had this idea of taking the
- 12:30Speaker 1: time to teach others how to get into into this
- 12:33Speaker 1: white male dominated industry and showing them the way. It's
- 12:37Speaker 1: a multibillion dollar industry, so showing them the way, showing
- 12:40Speaker 1: them how they could get another level of financial freedom
- 12:44Speaker 1: and build well. And so I launched my first class
- 12:46Speaker 1: in JUNI. To date, I've had over four hundred students
- 12:50Speaker 1: who have gone through my course, UM, mostly African American females.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I've had people who've been able to resign from their
- 12:57Speaker 1: nine to five. I've had people who are already teaching
- 13:01Speaker 1: their sons and their nephews about the industry to build
- 13:04Speaker 1: that generational wealth and that family business. And so it's
- 13:07Speaker 1: been great for me and fulfilling for me. To be
- 13:10Speaker 1: quite honest, UM, to have my master class where I
- 13:13Speaker 1: am able to pour into others and teach them the game.
- 13:17Speaker 1: That honestly helped me to resign. To be able to
- 13:20Speaker 1: resign from teaching in April eleven. Awesome. Now when you
- 13:23Speaker 1: go in a little detail exactly what that those courses are,
- 13:27Speaker 1: so my listeners and my viewers can get a clear
- 13:29Speaker 1: understanding of how they can be a part of that
- 13:31Speaker 1: and also register and are is it is it just
- 13:34Speaker 1: a period where you can join online or is it's seasonal?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Can you update them a little bit more with more detail. Absolutely? So.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Property preservation is the process of maintaining for clost properties
- 13:45Speaker 1: for banks. So when the property is for close on
- 13:48Speaker 1: as a property preservation is you know, you changed the lout,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you maintain the lawn, you clean the property, any issues
- 13:54Speaker 1: that happened, theft, vandalism, storm fire, you take care of
- 13:57Speaker 1: those things for the bank and the bank page shoes. UM.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I covered seven states at one time, so it is
- 14:03Speaker 1: a national industry. I've had students from all over the country,
- 14:06Speaker 1: from California to New York, Okay to Florida. And so
- 14:10Speaker 1: what I will say is that, UM, if you are
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know good at project management. This is definitely an
- 14:17Speaker 1: industry that you can get in because what you're doing
- 14:19Speaker 1: is you're managing these different projects, these different work orders.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I actually usually have the class about every three months.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I currently have the most recent class I just started.
- 14:29Speaker 1: We started two weeks ago. It was a five week program.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And if you're interested, of course, follow me on social media.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I always post one I'm having in a class coming
- 14:38Speaker 1: up and the website to register is Masterclass with Melody
- 14:43Speaker 1: dot Com. Right, all a while, y'all listen to me.
- 14:46Speaker 1: She's doing all this, still doing love and marriage hunt Field,
- 14:50Speaker 1: still being a great parent, dealing with a lot of
- 14:52Speaker 1: social media issues out there, personal life, she's building her brand,
- 14:57Speaker 1: she's working, she's focused. Now let's go to the seventh Avenue,
- 15:00Speaker 1: Premier skin Care. That's the second lane that you brought
- 15:03Speaker 1: into my life. You know you said we're shine and
- 15:06Speaker 1: work because up there our relationship is fun. And she
- 15:08Speaker 1: has she has she had direct message me what working up?
- 15:10Speaker 1: What do you think about it? Right now? I've always
- 15:12Speaker 1: been like a mentor to her. I'd like to believe
- 15:14Speaker 1: I've always been there to give a positive advice and
- 15:17Speaker 1: I've always been there to uplift her because that's what
- 15:19Speaker 1: people need. I'm just tell you, if you want to
- 15:22Speaker 1: win in life, surround yourself with people who believe and
- 15:25Speaker 1: share your journey. Understand what I'm saying, not participating it,
- 15:29Speaker 1: share your journey, which means they're willing to advise you
- 15:32Speaker 1: or physically assist you in some ways financially aid you
- 15:36Speaker 1: to make sure your dreams come true because they understand them.
- 15:38Speaker 1: So tell us about Seventh Avenue Premiere skin Care. So
- 15:42Speaker 1: at Seventh Avenue Career Skincare. I actually grew up on
- 15:45Speaker 1: Seventh Avenue, so that's why it's called Seventh Avenue. And
- 15:49Speaker 1: nothing to do with New York, nothing to do with
- 15:50Speaker 1: New York. There's nothing to do with New York. No,
- 15:55Speaker 1: nothing to do with New York. And so actually a
- 15:59Speaker 1: small talent in Alabama, running Alabama. But that is where
- 16:05Speaker 1: I started to learn the importance you know, as a
- 16:08Speaker 1: young girl, the importance of care, taking care of myself,
- 16:11Speaker 1: taking care of my skin, my body, and so um,
- 16:14Speaker 1: that's why it's name Seventh Avenue Career Skincare. But I
- 16:17Speaker 1: was blessed to work with you know, a black female
- 16:21Speaker 1: chemists and formulate my products. I knew I didn't want
- 16:25Speaker 1: to get products from overseas and just throw a label
- 16:27Speaker 1: on them. And I knew that I wanted to include
- 16:30Speaker 1: some of the things that my great grandmother taught me
- 16:32Speaker 1: to help me come back. Pete right, pet rss rosatio,
- 16:36Speaker 1: which is a skin condition that I had growing up.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And so, um, it has been doing phenomenal, been doing phenomenal.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Is clean, natural, vegan, um animal cruelty free, and I've
- 16:48Speaker 1: already gotten opportunities for it to go into retail, and
- 16:51Speaker 1: so the sales are phenomenal, the support is phenomenal, and um,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I mean this is gonna be a brand to stick
- 16:57Speaker 1: around for quite some time for sure. Okay, cool, Now,
- 17:00Speaker 1: listen to what she's doing, y'all. She's taking advantage of
- 17:03Speaker 1: all the things that God has introduced her life mentally, physically. Okay.
- 17:07Speaker 1: She talked about the skin care, this was something she
- 17:10Speaker 1: had to deal with personally, Okay, her singing career, she's
- 17:13Speaker 1: been doing this since she was a kid in church, okay.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And then the preservation business, the on line five week course.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It's something that she's doing so she's not stepping out
- 17:24Speaker 1: of her comfort zone, she says, expanding the opportunities. That's
- 17:27Speaker 1: been built into her DNA. So that's what I really
- 17:30Speaker 1: want people to understand about it. Now. When we're talking
- 17:32Speaker 1: about launching a product like this, you know, I don't
- 17:36Speaker 1: want people just to hear because everybody wants to launch
- 17:38Speaker 1: your product. Everybody wants to launch some muffins, they want
- 17:42Speaker 1: to launch some some some food products, they want to
- 17:46Speaker 1: all kinds of products. How did you get to the
- 17:48Speaker 1: point to be able to say, I got this idea?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Did you get with the chemists? What was what enabled
- 17:54Speaker 1: you to bring this brand, which is fantastic by the way,
- 17:58Speaker 1: to where it is right now. Well, I will tell
- 18:01Speaker 1: you this. It took three years. It took three years, um,
- 18:05Speaker 1: pretty much three and a half. I started working on
- 18:08Speaker 1: it in two thousand and eighteen. I didn't lunch it
- 18:10Speaker 1: until two I had to go through the process of
- 18:14Speaker 1: rebranding it, you know, because of my divorce, and so
- 18:18Speaker 1: I had to see what that looked like, what did
- 18:20Speaker 1: that feel like? What felt good to me? How was
- 18:22Speaker 1: I supposed to move with the new what what was
- 18:24Speaker 1: gonna be the new name, what was gonna be the colors?
- 18:26Speaker 1: I had to come up with all of that again,
- 18:29Speaker 1: and so, um, three and a half years of work UM,
- 18:34Speaker 1: which meant patience, because I do believe that things happened
- 18:37Speaker 1: when they're supposed to how they're supposed to UM. So yes,
- 18:41Speaker 1: definitely during my research UM getting with the chemist, because
- 18:46Speaker 1: I you know, you have to decide those things that
- 18:48Speaker 1: are absolute meaning, this is what has to happen. And
- 18:50Speaker 1: so for me, one of those things was it had
- 18:52Speaker 1: to be um USA made, and I knew that I
- 18:55Speaker 1: wanted to be a part of the formulating process. And
- 18:58Speaker 1: so what I will say is no, when you're starting
- 19:02Speaker 1: a brand or starting a skin care line, hair care,
- 19:05Speaker 1: whatever it may be, stick to UM those core things
- 19:10Speaker 1: that you're saying that can't be changed or can't be moved,
- 19:13Speaker 1: don't be so easily been, you know, don't being so
- 19:16Speaker 1: easily with what others may say. True enough, it may
- 19:19Speaker 1: have cost less if I just got something from overseas
- 19:21Speaker 1: and through a label line, but that's not what I
- 19:23Speaker 1: wanted to do, and that's not what I felt my
- 19:25Speaker 1: supporters UM what they deserved, And so stick to no
- 19:29Speaker 1: matter what, you know, what feels good to you in
- 19:32Speaker 1: your hearts, and then go after it, go full force,
- 19:36Speaker 1: full fledge after it, and allow nothing, no hindrances, no delays.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I say, all the time delayed does not being denied.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Um let none of that stop you from building the
- 19:48Speaker 1: brand or building the company that you know you're supposed
- 19:51Speaker 1: to be building. We'll be right back with more Money
- 19:54Speaker 1: Making Conversations Masterclass with ru Sean McDonald. Now, let's return
- 20:00Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. Well, you
- 20:05Speaker 1: know the interesting point that then this is the transition
- 20:07Speaker 1: to a TV hosts. You know when she got the
- 20:10Speaker 1: opportunity to host this series. I remember she because she
- 20:13Speaker 1: came on the show and I interviewed about it, and
- 20:15Speaker 1: she was she at that point, she wasn't sure that
- 20:18Speaker 1: that was something that she could do, but she pushed
- 20:21Speaker 1: past the fear. And I'm not saying anything. We not
- 20:23Speaker 1: talked on the air and interview and she went, Rushan,
- 20:26Speaker 1: this is something I want to do on the regular basis.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I want to act. I want to produce that that
- 20:32Speaker 1: last step because I went through the because we're gonna
- 20:34Speaker 1: get back to parenting. Because that because when you're doing
- 20:36Speaker 1: all this, people want to what the kid is it?
- 20:38Speaker 1: What the kid is that? So after you asked this question,
- 20:40Speaker 1: we're gonna get back to parenting and then we're gonna
- 20:42Speaker 1: slide back over to Love and Marriage hunt Field, which
- 20:45Speaker 1: airs every Saturday night a pm Eastern Pacific on the
- 20:48Speaker 1: own network. We wnta find out what's happening this season?
- 20:51Speaker 1: What was important on this interview, because I know they
- 20:54Speaker 1: dived straight into that all the time. She has to
- 20:56Speaker 1: kind of like squeezing this, squeezing this. This is about
- 20:59Speaker 1: money making conversation. Magic Class is about talking to individuals
- 21:02Speaker 1: like her who are making the difference in our community
- 21:05Speaker 1: as an entrepreneur, especially females who are the largest and
- 21:08Speaker 1: the fastest growing popular special women of color in the
- 21:12Speaker 1: entrepreneurial field. Now answer that lad, next question, and then
- 21:15Speaker 1: we're gonna get the parents. Being a host absolutely, So
- 21:20Speaker 1: hosting gives me a nice break from reality. You know,
- 21:25Speaker 1: we all know that reality TV has to have some
- 21:28Speaker 1: drama and a lot of times, you know, the cameras
- 21:31Speaker 1: are there when you're in situations that you may normally
- 21:35Speaker 1: wouldn't being as quickly or you know, as soon, but
- 21:38Speaker 1: you gotta go ahead and have that conversation sometimes. And
- 21:41Speaker 1: so reality hosting gives me a break from that and
- 21:45Speaker 1: it allows me, you know, to just show another side
- 21:48Speaker 1: of me. So I definitely enjoyed hosting. You know, I
- 21:51Speaker 1: hosted Girlfriends Check in her own, I hosted Behind every
- 21:54Speaker 1: Man for own, and I hosted something recently. Most recently
- 21:58Speaker 1: was for Essence in Coca Cola. And so I will
- 22:01Speaker 1: say that for me, that is definitely a comfort. Comfort
- 22:04Speaker 1: zone for me is hosting. Well, she's a brand ladies
- 22:07Speaker 1: and gentlemen. You know, I met her. She was just
- 22:10Speaker 1: a young lady who's married, which is nothing wrong with that,
- 22:15Speaker 1: but I love the fact that she's always been focused.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And when you watch the show Love and Marriage hunts Field,
- 22:21Speaker 1: like I said, ares every Saturday night a pm Eastern
- 22:24Speaker 1: Pacific on their own network, you know you're doing all
- 22:28Speaker 1: these things NonStop. Where does the time for the kids
- 22:32Speaker 1: fall in? Like, how do you align their relationship because
- 22:35Speaker 1: there's a lot of moms out there who want to
- 22:37Speaker 1: do what you do. How are you able to be
- 22:39Speaker 1: able to manage the love, because the and the need
- 22:42Speaker 1: Because I always tell people, these kids didn't ask to
- 22:44Speaker 1: come in this world. We brought them into the world. Absolutely. So,
- 22:49Speaker 1: for one, it's very important that you have an amazing
- 22:51Speaker 1: support system. It's important that um, you know, you also
- 22:56Speaker 1: communicate and talk with your children so my children know
- 22:59Speaker 1: what I'm when they know what I'm working on. I
- 23:01Speaker 1: have those real conversations with them, you know, I have
- 23:04Speaker 1: conversations with them about what it is that they want
- 23:07Speaker 1: to do as they get older. Right, and so my
- 23:10Speaker 1: hope and prayers always that I'm knocking down doors that
- 23:12Speaker 1: they will then be able to easily walk through. So
- 23:15Speaker 1: everyone in the family understanding the assignment, so to speak,
- 23:19Speaker 1: it's super real important. Um, I can tell you that
- 23:23Speaker 1: my children, they still get their mom. We still go
- 23:27Speaker 1: on vacations. I still you know, pack them up. We'll
- 23:31Speaker 1: go to the indoor water park, We'll go to the beach,
- 23:33Speaker 1: We'll go to David Busters. I still cook. You cook
- 23:37Speaker 1: the other night, their favorite chicken pope pie. I still cook.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I still take them to school. Um, you know, they
- 23:45Speaker 1: come first, regardless period, they come first. Well, I'm talking
- 23:49Speaker 1: to the brand Melanie to the star Loving Marriage and Producer.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Let me put that back. Let's lap back Star and
- 23:57Speaker 1: Producing Loving Marriage hutch Field, which airs every Saturday night
- 24:01Speaker 1: a PM on the own network. What is going to
- 24:04Speaker 1: happen this season? You know, I'm gonna let you kind
- 24:07Speaker 1: of tell it because you know, I might get to
- 24:09Speaker 1: tell out too many details and then I want to
- 24:12Speaker 1: let you back on much show. But it's still high power.
- 24:16Speaker 1: You're brought up in to Africa, you know. He coming
- 24:19Speaker 1: back with all these ideas, social media posts getting people
- 24:22Speaker 1: fired up. Uh, infidelity questions, relationship questions, WHOA just let
- 24:29Speaker 1: everybody know, why did you do the show and how
- 24:32Speaker 1: did you guys come to come together as a couple
- 24:35Speaker 1: before we start talking about what's happening in this season.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Absolutely so. We pitched the show to Carlos King my
- 24:44Speaker 1: X and I, I and UM had a consultation with him,
- 24:47Speaker 1: pitched the show to him and UM in the midst
- 24:50Speaker 1: of that, and once we agree, you know, to go
- 24:52Speaker 1: with his production company to get us a show. It
- 24:54Speaker 1: took us about three years of us selling Huntsville to him.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I would test Carlos all the time and let him
- 25:00Speaker 1: know what was going on in the city and what
- 25:02Speaker 1: was going down in terms of the how the city
- 25:05Speaker 1: was growing and UM. Eventually he sent us a contract.
- 25:08Speaker 1: He was like, look, we put together a sizel for him,
- 25:11Speaker 1: send it to him and he said, oh my gosh,
- 25:12Speaker 1: I want to sign you guys. I don't want you
- 25:13Speaker 1: to sign with anybody else. I want to work with you.
- 25:16Speaker 1: He sent a contract that day we signed it. It
- 25:19Speaker 1: gave him a certain time frame to get the show
- 25:22Speaker 1: picked up. Um. The next conversation we had was, Hey, look,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I'm getting some great feedback, but I am really great
- 25:29Speaker 1: at getting unsemble soul. What do you guys think about
- 25:32Speaker 1: doing it unsemble? Um, do you have any friends that
- 25:35Speaker 1: you maybe want to bring along? And so at that
- 25:37Speaker 1: point we presented several friends to him. You know that
- 25:40Speaker 1: we do several couples that we knew, and they went
- 25:44Speaker 1: through the process of interviewing them and talking with them
- 25:46Speaker 1: and you know, deciding how they wanted to go. And so, um,
- 25:51Speaker 1: you know, that's where we are. That's how we're here
- 25:53Speaker 1: with Love and Marriage Huntsville. I think for me, the
- 25:57Speaker 1: the idea from the beginning was really to show young,
- 26:00Speaker 1: young black couples who were successful doing things in the community,
- 26:06Speaker 1: working hard to you know, enhance the community as much
- 26:10Speaker 1: as possible, while also showing real life issues that are
- 26:13Speaker 1: happened in relationships and that happened with friendships, and just
- 26:16Speaker 1: being transparent, transparent, honest and open um about life like
- 26:22Speaker 1: a reality TV show that is actually real, that is transparent.
- 26:27Speaker 1: That was the goal. And authentic, and and you also
- 26:30Speaker 1: changed the game because you went from that big city format.
- 26:33Speaker 1: And I'm not gonna I'm not being negladant I say that,
- 26:35Speaker 1: you know, And am I calling Huntspital a small town
- 26:37Speaker 1: for the smaller city? You know? But if you ever
- 26:41Speaker 1: go to the Huntsville which is the home of NASA,
- 26:44Speaker 1: very well educated, you go there, they got everything it is.
- 26:47Speaker 1: It is a baby version of Atlanta, you know. When
- 26:50Speaker 1: I'm talking about the the the the the lifestyle, the
- 26:54Speaker 1: education level and the and their job availability. It's a
- 26:58Speaker 1: beautiful city. I went that many times. I was fortunate
- 27:00Speaker 1: to go there when I was when I was being
- 27:02Speaker 1: an entertainer. And so with that being said, what should
- 27:06Speaker 1: we expect, Melody sheari? What is season for? And why
- 27:11Speaker 1: should we look? I know why because I'm watching you,
- 27:14Speaker 1: But why should we look some season for us? In
- 27:19Speaker 1: one word, it would be whirlwinds whirlwind Yeah? Um, and
- 27:24Speaker 1: you thought last season was something else after that reunion
- 27:28Speaker 1: that has happened and everything else that's going on, honey,
- 27:30Speaker 1: you better buffle up for season four. Okay. You know,
- 27:36Speaker 1: like I said, you know, that's why I wanted to
- 27:37Speaker 1: let everybody here how they started so you can see
- 27:40Speaker 1: that you know some of the manipulations, some of the production.
- 27:44Speaker 1: You know, you get into these projects and you don't
- 27:45Speaker 1: know your journey and their journey. Unfortunately, and melody situation
- 27:50Speaker 1: has led to a divorce, situation played out in the
- 27:52Speaker 1: public side, played out in the social media. But it
- 27:55Speaker 1: didn't break her. It didn't break her spirit, didn't break
- 27:58Speaker 1: her relationships. And know that that's important because you got
- 28:01Speaker 1: a lot of haters out there, and these haters are
- 28:03Speaker 1: trying to manipulate the system and make people feel that
- 28:06Speaker 1: they're wrong. Again, Melanie Shariad, as always, you bring good.
- 28:11Speaker 1: You dropped the gems, you dropped the enthusiasm, and just
- 28:15Speaker 1: watch our relationship grow. And you know you have a
- 28:18Speaker 1: home here, have money making conversations masterclass. I was the
- 28:20Speaker 1: board show. Tell them to send those those videos. Tell
- 28:23Speaker 1: me now, I said, you can tell me about the
- 28:27Speaker 1: song drop out wise how to put that in my
- 28:28Speaker 1: news letter? But that's all right. I'm gonna with a
- 28:30Speaker 1: little hate knowing you you could have thrown your bar. Uh, Richard,
- 28:33Speaker 1: can you drop this first? I say you need to apologize.
- 28:35Speaker 1: You need the apologize. D D E M me on
- 28:38Speaker 1: everything else. But again, tell them to send me some
- 28:41Speaker 1: videos so I can drop them in next week's newsletter.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Because I've got no banners to promote that. I got
- 28:46Speaker 1: a hundred and five thousand fan club members go out
- 28:49Speaker 1: every Wednesday, and I dropped him every week the sizzles
- 28:52Speaker 1: that go out to promote the upcoming episode. Because I
- 28:54Speaker 1: believe in you. I love the people on the show.
- 28:57Speaker 1: You are my number one on that show. I will
- 28:59Speaker 1: protect you, I would support you keeping who you are.
- 29:03Speaker 1: You are a blessing and uh what can I say?
- 29:07Speaker 1: A star of what we needed, what we were. You know,
- 29:10Speaker 1: you represent a lot of great things and keep winning. Okay,
- 29:13Speaker 1: thank you for coming my show, Melodisary. You're wonderful. If
- 29:18Speaker 1: you want to hear or see any of my interviews
- 29:19Speaker 1: or Moneymaking Conversations, please go to money Making Conversation dot com.
