- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time? I
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all all suit back down, giving them like
- 0:15Speaker 1: the million buck things in it sub good. Steve har
- 0:24Speaker 1: to the mother stole, I don't join joining. You gotta
- 0:59Speaker 1: use that turn. You gotta turn to turn them out.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Turn you got to turn them out, then turn the
- 1:47Speaker 1: water the water. Come come on your bahuh I show
- 2:03Speaker 1: will a good morning everybody you'll listening to the voice?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Come on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey
- 2:11Speaker 1: got a radio show. Y'all do took of me what
- 2:15Speaker 1: I said? But I do like I say always. It
- 2:18Speaker 1: just is a constant reminder of how good God has been.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So my question to you is what's stopping you from
- 2:26Speaker 1: having the life that you want? What's stopping you from
- 2:30Speaker 1: having the life that you want? I know a lot
- 2:35Speaker 1: of people who have given up on achieving the life
- 2:39Speaker 1: of their dreams, but I know they'd still want them
- 2:43Speaker 1: if they could get to them. But they just allowed
- 2:46Speaker 1: to settle for so many reasons. So who I'm talking
- 2:51Speaker 1: to is you today? What's really at the core of
- 2:55Speaker 1: stopping you? What is that? Is it your friends or
- 2:59Speaker 1: your associates? Is it the fear of what you think
- 3:03Speaker 1: somebody else will think of you if you decide to change.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Is it what I used to call the call of
- 3:09Speaker 1: the while? Is it the fact that you keep thinking
- 3:13Speaker 1: that the thing that you're doing that's providing you these
- 3:16Speaker 1: momentary moments of pleasure that really ain't really good or
- 3:20Speaker 1: healthy for you, You don't want to stop doing that
- 3:23Speaker 1: because you've got just a little bit more something else
- 3:26Speaker 1: you want to do. I call that the call at
- 3:28Speaker 1: a while. You know, it's just out there. Them streets
- 3:30Speaker 1: is calling you, Them lights is calling you. You know,
- 3:33Speaker 1: them girls is calling you. Them guys that's on the
- 3:36Speaker 1: wrong side keep calling you. You can't seem to make
- 3:39Speaker 1: a decision by the right guy. You keep picking the
- 3:42Speaker 1: wrong guy all the time. What is it that's stopping
- 3:45Speaker 1: you from having the life that you really want to have?
- 3:49Speaker 1: So whatever the reason you're choosing, that's the reason that's
- 3:53Speaker 1: stopping you from having the life that you want to have.
- 3:56Speaker 1: It's no good because at the end of the day,
- 3:59Speaker 1: here's the real deal. See, God is available, and God
- 4:03Speaker 1: is available for all of us, and God has a
- 4:06Speaker 1: plan for all of us, and God wants to vary
- 4:08Speaker 1: best for all of us. That's the truth of the matter.
- 4:12Speaker 1: So now what we're gonna do to get started having
- 4:15Speaker 1: that life? First of all, if it's your friends, I
- 4:19Speaker 1: want you to understand something your friends can't save you.
- 4:22Speaker 1: A lot of your friends offer no real help for you.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Most of your friends don't have the answer themselves. I mean,
- 4:30Speaker 1: it's just a wide range of reasons and misery love company.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So usually when your friends are in a bad position,
- 4:37Speaker 1: they kind of like company in that bad position. Your
- 4:40Speaker 1: friends ain't going to church. You're gonna be their friend.
- 4:43Speaker 1: They don't really want you to go to church. You
- 4:46Speaker 1: know your friends don't pray, so why would they offer
- 4:49Speaker 1: up prayer as a solution to you. You know, your
- 4:53Speaker 1: friends don't really really get the fact that if you
- 4:58Speaker 1: treat people better, people would treat you better. So what's that?
- 5:02Speaker 1: So your friends are a lot of times the reasons,
- 5:06Speaker 1: you know, to peer pressure of what and then the
- 5:08Speaker 1: thought in your mind of what they're gonna think once
- 5:11Speaker 1: they find out I don't do what they do anymore.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Who cares what they think other than you? I mean, really,
- 5:19Speaker 1: you can't let what somebody thinks if you stop you
- 5:22Speaker 1: from having the best life you wanted to have. If
- 5:25Speaker 1: I went by that theory right there. I wouldn't I
- 5:28Speaker 1: wouldn't even be on this mic this morning. I would
- 5:31Speaker 1: have never become a stand up I would have had
- 5:33Speaker 1: I listened to the people around me who clearly told
- 5:37Speaker 1: me when I quit my job to pursue this, boy,
- 5:40Speaker 1: don't you quit your job? You got a family, Boy,
- 5:43Speaker 1: don't you do this. You ain't got no bit dad,
- 5:45Speaker 1: ain't ain't no security in that. Get yourself a job,
- 5:48Speaker 1: Go down here and whet your brothers go to work
- 5:51Speaker 1: over here. I heard all of that. I didn't let
- 5:54Speaker 1: that stop me from pursuing this. Why would you allow
- 5:57Speaker 1: that to stop you from pursuing your relationship with God
- 6:01Speaker 1: so you can have the best life you could possibly have.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You gang bang because they've convinced you that this is
- 6:07Speaker 1: the family situation and love that you don't have, and
- 6:11Speaker 1: they've convinced you that this is your only way, your
- 6:15Speaker 1: only source of getting over And then you drum up
- 6:18Speaker 1: these ignorant reasons man for staying with it. But they
- 6:23Speaker 1: sound so good when you're listening to everybody else you
- 6:26Speaker 1: surrounded by telling you why we gang banging while we're
- 6:30Speaker 1: holding this blockdown? Why we slanging this thing here right here?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Why we're letting it go like this here? You keep
- 6:36Speaker 1: listening to them when all in your heart of hearts
- 6:40Speaker 1: you know this ain't right. You already know, but you
- 6:43Speaker 1: allow that form of the call of the wild, that
- 6:48Speaker 1: wanting to be accepted by a group of people who
- 6:51Speaker 1: trying to get you to accept the way so you
- 6:53Speaker 1: can further they progress. To even prove that you worthy
- 6:57Speaker 1: to be around them, you got to commit some type
- 7:00Speaker 1: a crime to even prove that you're worthy to be
- 7:02Speaker 1: around them. Then when you get busted on the crime,
- 7:05Speaker 1: what happens to that where your family had Now they
- 7:09Speaker 1: don't come down there to see you because guess what,
- 7:11Speaker 1: they can't turn any idea to death at a law
- 7:14Speaker 1: enforcement center, So now your homies can't come visit you.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And then you know your family back out here, they
- 7:20Speaker 1: ain't taking care of your family because it's all about them.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Then you learn that what is it that stopping you
- 7:26Speaker 1: from having a life that you always wanted to have?
- 7:29Speaker 1: What is it? Why are you a repeat offender? Why
- 7:33Speaker 1: do you keep checking yourself back into that institution? Why? Man,
- 7:39Speaker 1: why won't you get it together? Why won't you give
- 7:42Speaker 1: God a try? Why won't you disassociate yourself. Why would
- 7:46Speaker 1: you continue to be a part of a revolving door
- 7:49Speaker 1: system and becoming the farm system for these institutions that
- 7:53Speaker 1: ain't got nothing for you? But you keep going back
- 7:56Speaker 1: in there. And then every time you go in there,
- 7:57Speaker 1: and then your little homies or your gang ain't little
- 8:00Speaker 1: little silly little friends try to make you think that's
- 8:03Speaker 1: a badge of honor. There ain't no badge of honor. Man,
- 8:06Speaker 1: that's one mode. What's one more scratch on that record,
- 8:09Speaker 1: That's one mold, That's one more nail in that coffin.
- 8:12Speaker 1: That's one step closer to that third strike where you
- 8:15Speaker 1: ain't gonna ever get out. It's one step closer to
- 8:18Speaker 1: that graveyard you keep on. Why would you not give
- 8:22Speaker 1: God a try? Why would you not go and see
- 8:25Speaker 1: what your life could really be? What is it that's
- 8:28Speaker 1: stopping you? Because see, I got news for you. There's
- 8:32Speaker 1: nothing like waking up free. I don't care who you are.
- 8:35Speaker 1: There's nothing like waking up with the joy in your heart. Now,
- 8:40Speaker 1: if you ain't gonna be free, get the joy in
- 8:42Speaker 1: your heart, the satisfaction of knowing that you accomplishing something
- 8:46Speaker 1: with your life. Help somebody behind them bars get in
- 8:49Speaker 1: the program show these young cats when they come in
- 8:52Speaker 1: a better way. But don't you dare sit there man
- 8:55Speaker 1: and just ride it out, and man, just go and
- 8:59Speaker 1: get the fullest life that you can have. What you
- 9:02Speaker 1: know what it feels like to wake up and be
- 9:04Speaker 1: on your way somewhere knowing that you have something to accomplish,
- 9:08Speaker 1: that you can change somebody, that you can stop somebody
- 9:11Speaker 1: from going down the roads you went down. It's a
- 9:13Speaker 1: whole lot of ways to make your life better. But
- 9:16Speaker 1: why would you not go and have the best life
- 9:18Speaker 1: you can have? What is it that's stopping you? Really? Really?
- 9:23Speaker 1: So you think that Satan really has your best interests
- 9:27Speaker 1: at heart? That Dela thing your mama kept telling you
- 9:30Speaker 1: about praying, You wasn't listening. It was you. But you know,
- 9:33Speaker 1: it ain't ever too late to get back to that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: It ain't ever too late to turn around. It ain't
- 9:38Speaker 1: ever too late to get your life together, It ain't
- 9:40Speaker 1: ever too late to seek God, and it ain't ever
- 9:43Speaker 1: too late to pray. Don't forget to pray, don't be
- 9:47Speaker 1: ashamed to pray, and don't be too proud to pray,
- 9:50Speaker 1: because prayer changes things. Prayer change people too. I'm a
- 9:55Speaker 1: witness to that. You're ladies and gentlemen. Let me have
- 10:03Speaker 1: it now, undivided attention, Steve Harvey Morning Show, Live and color,
- 10:08Speaker 1: mostly color. Though. Oh boy, man, I feel good today,
- 10:13Speaker 1: so much better than yesterday. I don't know. I was
- 10:16Speaker 1: just a little off yesterday. Crew, I had to apologize
- 10:19Speaker 1: to you. Just wasn't myself yesterday. But I got it together,
- 10:22Speaker 1: prayed about it, got myself together. God gave me another date,
- 10:26Speaker 1: another chance. I had to write out, Look everything, man,
- 10:30Speaker 1: I'm on top. I'm on top, even if it don't
- 10:33Speaker 1: look like I'm on top, because I know when I
- 10:35Speaker 1: come through this, he gonna have me on the other
- 10:37Speaker 1: side and I'll be on top. All right, all right,
- 10:40Speaker 1: Hey Sherlon Stroke, Hey Steve, I'm glad to see and
- 10:43Speaker 1: here you're in such a good mood. Thank you. Yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 1: my train about to lose his damn mind, don't gonna
- 10:49Speaker 1: had talked to his young ass Colin for rell. Okay,
- 10:52Speaker 1: then a good morning, what's up crew? Got that damn
- 10:56Speaker 1: junior boy morning everybody, Morning crew, Morning up. Pemper, Nephew, Tommy, Yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 1: you ain't. I'm in the building. I'm him, I'm him. Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 1: So yeah, the trainer. He are twenty nine. He don't
- 11:14Speaker 1: we have a disconnect sometime, you know, just a difference. Yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 1: you know, I'll be gonna I'll be gonna do what. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 1: thirty in him? Thirty? Don't You're not even thirty and
- 11:27Speaker 1: you're asking me to do the thirty of him? Why?
- 11:32Speaker 1: But there's an element in me that's kind of ignorant.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't like for somebody to think I can't do
- 11:38Speaker 1: to something, So then I do the damn thirty even
- 11:41Speaker 1: if it killed me, and it do be killing me.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I've been sweating, been getting the end though I'm in joint.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Ain't got no where to go. I ain't got no job.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So hell, you do have a job. You're on it
- 11:53Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, this is when I meet him, though
- 11:56Speaker 1: I meet him after this, So you know, ain't like
- 11:59Speaker 1: I said, I got no where to go. I'll tell
- 12:01Speaker 1: you one thing, though, something happened to me that ain't
- 12:03Speaker 1: happened to me in a long time. After I got
- 12:06Speaker 1: through working out. Guess what I did, y'all? What I
- 12:11Speaker 1: took a damn naw do it? There you go. Don't
- 12:16Speaker 1: feel you're so regular now, dog, I fell asleep and
- 12:22Speaker 1: woke up. It was actually mad. Why. I don't know.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I thought it was a sign of weakness. Oh goodness,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I needed that nap so damn bad. But I got
- 12:35Speaker 1: mad at myself for taking a nap like a good nap,
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean, but that's just it though. That was the problem.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I had to realize, Steve, you can do that because
- 12:49Speaker 1: you ain't nothing else to do, right, get your Yeah, Junior,
- 12:57Speaker 1: I know, dog, but I'm wired to think different. I'm
- 13:01Speaker 1: I'm ignorant. Man. I gotta do I gotta do something
- 13:03Speaker 1: with muscle, said the man who watches the tree grow
- 13:06Speaker 1: every day. Okay, so yeah, that's how real it is.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Looking out the window. Look through the window to you.
- 13:22Speaker 1: All right, we'll listen, Steve. Coming up at thirty two
- 13:25Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, we're gonna do a little ask
- 13:28Speaker 1: the CLO. The people want to hear from you, Steve,
- 13:30Speaker 1: the Chief Love Officer. Right after this, he had a map. Yeah, baby,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you're listening to show. All right, Steve, here we go.
- 13:47Speaker 1: This is your time. Time to ask the CLO the
- 13:50Speaker 1: Chief Love Officer. This is from anonymous in the US. Okay,
- 13:55Speaker 1: he really yeah, they really don't want to know right
- 14:01Speaker 1: who they are? All right, here we go. I'm so
- 14:03Speaker 1: embarrassed for cheating on my wife, but I get so
- 14:06Speaker 1: turned on by my girlfriend being half naked and smelling good,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and her house smells good, and she's feminine and freaky
- 14:14Speaker 1: at the same time. Whenever I'm with her. This is
- 14:18Speaker 1: what I long for from my wife, but she no
- 14:21Speaker 1: longer gives me that. I want the same little, freaky
- 14:24Speaker 1: and fine women back that I'm married. Why do some
- 14:29Speaker 1: wives think it's cool to let the spark go out
- 14:32Speaker 1: of their marriage? Steve Harvey clo Well, dog, listen to me, careful.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I don't think that you can blame women for this.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Women are reactionary creatures, and I have found through experience,
- 14:51Speaker 1: if you dig deep behind it, its usually due to something.
- 14:58Speaker 1: If the spark is gone and your wife, could it
- 15:02Speaker 1: possibly be anything you've done to stop igniting the spark
- 15:10Speaker 1: and I'm doing look and look man, real, I'm just
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm just keeping it one hundred with you. Because women
- 15:17Speaker 1: are very reactionary people. They can't just hop into the
- 15:22Speaker 1: sack when you're ready. They have to have a reason,
- 15:25Speaker 1: and if we stop giving them the reason, then they
- 15:29Speaker 1: can affect that. Now, what you've done is the atypical
- 15:35Speaker 1: thing that a lot of men will do. If you're
- 15:38Speaker 1: not getting what you want at home, some men go
- 15:42Speaker 1: outside to find it. This will eventually backfire. Sad to say,
- 15:49Speaker 1: it will eventually backfire. Now, this woman who is feminine, freaky, fine, house,
- 15:57Speaker 1: always smelling good and all like this, she probably ain't
- 16:00Speaker 1: running behind no kids either, so she can be freaky,
- 16:05Speaker 1: feminine and fine. And you only come over that every
- 16:08Speaker 1: now and then, So all she got to do is
- 16:11Speaker 1: pull it together every now and then. You with your
- 16:14Speaker 1: wife on the day to day, year to year, especially
- 16:17Speaker 1: in the quarantine. And so bro, I know you want
- 16:23Speaker 1: it back. So in order to get it back, you
- 16:26Speaker 1: got to give back to her what you used to give.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And if you think about it closely enough, I can
- 16:32Speaker 1: almost assure you, if you retrace your steps, you can
- 16:35Speaker 1: find something that you stopped doing. All right, all right,
- 16:40Speaker 1: put it back on him, Steve. I like if this
- 16:41Speaker 1: one's from Carmen and Mobile, Alabama. It says, Steve, I
- 16:45Speaker 1: heard you talking about a man that got caught having
- 16:48Speaker 1: sex in a car with another woman. I have had
- 16:51Speaker 1: that same problem twice. The first time I got I
- 16:56Speaker 1: caught my husband and his mistress and a secluded parking
- 16:59Speaker 1: lot sex. We split for a second and then I
- 17:02Speaker 1: let him come home. He was dumb enough to do
- 17:05Speaker 1: it again and got caught again. I am divorcing him. Now,
- 17:09Speaker 1: why is it that men can't be honest and let
- 17:11Speaker 1: us know they don't want us walking over that? Well?
- 17:17Speaker 1: Where is he parking at first come? And where is
- 17:24Speaker 1: his money for a room? And who is this here for?
- 17:27Speaker 1: That life should get done in the car? Quass, There's
- 17:32Speaker 1: so many things I want to answer to that one.
- 17:35Speaker 1: You know you, it's not why men won't tell you.
- 17:38Speaker 1: They don't, won't you? You got a pretty trifle an
- 17:41Speaker 1: ass man that keep having sex in a car? How
- 17:44Speaker 1: old is he? And damn good riddence you should be
- 17:49Speaker 1: ready to get rid of him. You're getting rid of
- 17:52Speaker 1: a low class dude. Can I go back to the
- 17:54Speaker 1: first question? Yeah, the one about the man who's embarrassed
- 17:59Speaker 1: for cheating on his wife. But yeah, and so not
- 18:03Speaker 1: like I said. But now with that being said, me
- 18:07Speaker 1: and you have to retrace your steps. There are some
- 18:10Speaker 1: women who do stop and let themselves go because they
- 18:16Speaker 1: think it's okay because we're here, we married now, and
- 18:22Speaker 1: some women I have seen this with my own eyes.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Fortunately for me, that's not my case now, but I've
- 18:30Speaker 1: seen it with my own eyes, and I got a
- 18:31Speaker 1: lot of friends who complain about it. Not a lot,
- 18:34Speaker 1: but a few. And there are some women who let
- 18:37Speaker 1: themselves go, and that's a sad thing. And then you
- 18:42Speaker 1: expect your man that had the same fire, and it's
- 18:44Speaker 1: not there. And if you've been with a woman for
- 18:46Speaker 1: another a number of years, you know it's it's it's
- 18:50Speaker 1: the same. You know, ain't a whole lot of new
- 18:54Speaker 1: moves you can try. It's it's the same. I like
- 18:58Speaker 1: your first answer, Patt New Jersey blame the man, Patten
- 19:06Speaker 1: t next New Jersey CLO Steve says, I celebrated my
- 19:10Speaker 1: fifty ninth birthday over the weekend on Zoom with my girlfriends.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I am quarantined alone, so it made me feel special.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Most of my ex is texted and called me to
- 19:20Speaker 1: say happy birthday. Yes, I am friends with all of
- 19:23Speaker 1: my ex boyfriends, like Shirley. Uh wait a minute now,
- 19:28Speaker 1: but one of them took it a bit far and
- 19:34Speaker 1: he wants to come over and bring me a special
- 19:36Speaker 1: birthday gift. I've been very careful about staying in and
- 19:40Speaker 1: being safe, but a little sex would be nice. Right now.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Do you think it's too risky to let him come over. Well,
- 19:47Speaker 1: you know, here's a deal, tisia ex boyfriend, and you
- 19:51Speaker 1: already know him and you got feelings for him anyway.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Now here's the thing you got toothdays. You gotta protect
- 19:58Speaker 1: yourself because they have several diseases now and one of
- 20:05Speaker 1: them you can protect yourself with a condom. Now, this
- 20:10Speaker 1: other one they have no protection for it. Come over
- 20:15Speaker 1: there kissing. Next thing, you know, your ass in a
- 20:18Speaker 1: hospital with the gross in your damn lungs and we
- 20:22Speaker 1: don't have no cure for this right now, right, so
- 20:25Speaker 1: you can let his ass come over there, but you
- 20:27Speaker 1: don't know where it been. So you can have sex
- 20:30Speaker 1: and protect yourself with a condom, and you could just
- 20:33Speaker 1: invite that corona on over to the house. It's too risky,
- 20:37Speaker 1: ste Yea. Even with a mask on, y'all, we can't
- 20:40Speaker 1: give a damn the mask. A mask don't stop nothing
- 20:44Speaker 1: when you having sex. All right, thank you, Cla. We
- 20:47Speaker 1: appreciate most people. Ain't got to coming up next and
- 20:53Speaker 1: if you tell me, we'll run that break back right
- 20:55Speaker 1: after this. You're listening show coming up at the top
- 21:01Speaker 1: of the hour, Miss Anna standing by with today's national
- 21:04Speaker 1: coronavirus news update. Also an entertainment news, Kanye West is
- 21:08Speaker 1: now a billionaire, and basketball wife star Jennifer Williams said
- 21:13Speaker 1: she was a victim of a scam and her range

- 34:14Speaker 1: their classrooms instead of like a big, big luncheon where
- 34:16Speaker 1: there are around a lot of other young people. The
- 34:19Speaker 1: CDC is also looking meanwhile, at sending teams to three

- 34:30Speaker 1: and Delaware US Attorney General William Barr urging federal prosecutors
- 34:34Speaker 1: to take legal action, as he puts it, state and
- 34:37Speaker 1: local regulations. If state and local regulations are aimed at
- 34:40Speaker 1: stemming the corona infection rate but actually somehow violating the
- 34:43Speaker 1: constitutional rights of people or their civil rights, so William
- 34:47Speaker 1: Bars says people should take legal action. This story out
- 34:50Speaker 1: of runs with Georgia, an unarmed young black man shot
- 34:53Speaker 1: dead by two white men while merely jogging. Ahmad Arborry,
- 34:57Speaker 1: a twenty five year old former high school football player
- 35:00Speaker 1: reportedly an avid runner, but on a Sunday afternoon in February,
- 35:03Speaker 1: after passing the home of sixty four year old Gregory McMichael,
- 35:07Speaker 1: McMichael and his son Travis got guns jumped in their
- 35:09Speaker 1: truck followed him, eventually murdering him. They claim he looked
- 35:13Speaker 1: like someone who'd been breaking into houses, and that they
- 35:16Speaker 1: only shot him after calling out to him to stop.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Of course, there's no video of this. We don't know
- 35:21Speaker 1: if this is a true or not. Even so, he
- 35:23Speaker 1: had no burglars tools on him or stolen merchandise, and
- 35:26Speaker 1: the white cops accepted the story and filed no charges.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden received more endorsements, one from
- 35:32Speaker 1: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who says that Biden, with his
- 35:36Speaker 1: experience in Congress as well as Vice president, would be
- 35:39Speaker 1: quote a voice of reason and resilience amid the ongoing
- 35:42Speaker 1: coronavirus pandemic. Gay civil rights lead Bird Rustin being posthumously
- 35:47Speaker 1: pardoned by the Governor of California, who was also promising
- 35:50Speaker 1: to create a new process by which other people convicted
- 35:53Speaker 1: under outdated laws that punished homosexual activity by Rustin, a confident,
- 35:58Speaker 1: a confidant of revend Martin Luther and the key organizer
- 36:01Speaker 1: of the March on Washington. Finally, today is a buy
- 36:03Speaker 1: Logic clock day. My clock is ticking. Now back to
- 36:07Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning
- 36:11Speaker 1: Show and trending sports news. The Last Dance starring Michael
- 36:15Speaker 1: Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, the documentary. Well, Steve, we
- 36:19Speaker 1: know you watched episodes three. Yeah, I'll watch all of them.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I'm called out, all right, So you know that Michael
- 36:26Speaker 1: Jordan still holds a grudge against Isaiah Thomas for walking
- 36:29Speaker 1: off the court after the Bulls beat the Pistons back
- 36:31Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety one. Yeah, so take a listen to this.
- 36:35Speaker 1: You know it when his two actions then and there's
- 36:37Speaker 1: time enough to think about it, or the reaction of
- 36:40Speaker 1: the public, that's kind of changed his perspective at them. Yeah,
- 36:44Speaker 1: you can show him anything you want. There's no way
- 36:46Speaker 1: you can convince me. And you wouldn't until who said
- 36:50Speaker 1: he's still like him to day? Yeah, well, you know
- 36:53Speaker 1: it was unsportsmanlike thing to do. But too Isaiah's defense,
- 36:59Speaker 1: he said that's how it was done back then, that
- 37:02Speaker 1: the Celtics walked off the floor when the bad Boys
- 37:05Speaker 1: won didn't get him no love. They did the same
- 37:09Speaker 1: thing when Chicago won didn't get him no love. I
- 37:13Speaker 1: think either way, it was not the thing to do,
- 37:17Speaker 1: you know. But they walked off, you know, not Lebron
- 37:21Speaker 1: has done it, walked off in the tunnel, didn't shake
- 37:24Speaker 1: nobody's head, took his jersey off. So some of them
- 37:30Speaker 1: cats do it, and they all catch some type like
- 37:34Speaker 1: Mike was saying, they all catch some type of public thing.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Not what Isaiah said was true. It had happened to
- 37:41Speaker 1: them and they did it, but they should have gave
- 37:45Speaker 1: it to him though, you know them, they had been
- 37:47Speaker 1: beating them boys up bad. Yeah, well, Isaiah says, he responded.
- 37:54Speaker 1: He says he's paid a heavy price for not shaking
- 37:57Speaker 1: hands with Michael Jordans and the bulls. Some people feel
- 38:00Speaker 1: that is why Isaiah was not on the nineteen ninety
- 38:03Speaker 1: two A dream team for the Olympics back in Barcelona
- 38:06Speaker 1: when they went that time. Yeah, of course. But I'm
- 38:12Speaker 1: gonna tell you something too, man, after watching this special
- 38:14Speaker 1: so far, I am telling everybody y'all quit talking to
- 38:20Speaker 1: me about who the greatest basketball player of all time
- 38:24Speaker 1: is because it is Michael Jordan, thank you. And the
- 38:27Speaker 1: reason being y'all and I'm saying this. They played in
- 38:31Speaker 1: a different era of basketball, w no flagrant files, with
- 38:36Speaker 1: no neo technical there was none of that. There was hard,
- 38:39Speaker 1: vicious files and that's scoring in the paint. And if
- 38:42Speaker 1: you look at how Michael Jordan scores, it's a different
- 38:45Speaker 1: game now. Ain't no more hand checking. They're out there
- 38:48Speaker 1: dropping threes. Mike scored a lot of points with the
- 38:51Speaker 1: mid range jumper, driving to the hole, pulling up. You
- 38:54Speaker 1: don't even see players playing like that no more. This
- 38:57Speaker 1: dude right here after watching him six titles, Oh no, no,
- 39:03Speaker 1: distant right Hill and that damn Scottie Pippen. Oh Lord,
- 39:08Speaker 1: God almighty. All right. See coming up in thirty four
- 39:12Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, we'll talk more about The Last
- 39:15Speaker 1: Dance and Michael. Right, yeah, you're listening to the Steven Show.
- 39:23Speaker 1: The Last Dance documentary about Michael Jordan continues to be
- 39:27Speaker 1: a runaway smash for ESPN in this Sports Star of Climate.
- 39:32Speaker 1: You know, they were supposed to run this whole special
- 39:35Speaker 1: in the fall, but because there's no sports right now,
- 39:38Speaker 1: they're doing it now. And boy, we talk last break
- 39:41Speaker 1: about how Michael Jordan still holds a grudge against Isaiah
- 39:44Speaker 1: Thomas bad boys, you know, the Detroit Pistons back in
- 39:46Speaker 1: nineteen ninety one. We also learned in the dock that
- 39:49Speaker 1: Michael said his first NBA championship in nineteen ninety one
- 39:53Speaker 1: put him somewhere in the category with Larry Bird and
- 39:56Speaker 1: Magic Johnson take a listen, somewhere in the category of Laybury.
- 40:08Speaker 1: We also learned some things that we already knew, like
- 40:11Speaker 1: Dennis Rodman was and still is wild. We knew that,
- 40:15Speaker 1: right man, I didn't know they gave him some days
- 40:19Speaker 1: off and he went to Vegas and no, no, they
- 40:21Speaker 1: didn't give him. He took them, took them. Anybody giving
- 40:26Speaker 1: you no vacation. And Michael Jordan says he will donate
- 40:34Speaker 1: his entire share of the proceeds from the Last Dance documentary,
- 40:38Speaker 1: which is believed to be somewhere between three and four
- 40:40Speaker 1: million dollars, to charitable causes. I love that, Yeah, I
- 40:45Speaker 1: love that. So what did you learn about the documentary, Steve?
- 40:49Speaker 1: About Jordan like watching it? Well? I loved because you know,
- 40:52Speaker 1: you very rarely get to hear Jordan speak on racism
- 40:56Speaker 1: and his past, and I think it was it was
- 41:00Speaker 1: enlightening for me because I never you know, Jordan gets
- 41:03Speaker 1: knocked sometimes for not being an activists for causes, but
- 41:08Speaker 1: that's not what he's here for. That was not his
- 41:12Speaker 1: mission in life. And people have to understand that everybody
- 41:16Speaker 1: don't get called to the pulpit, everybody don't get called
- 41:20Speaker 1: for these public missions. But I think he's done so
- 41:24Speaker 1: much for the game of basketball, which has changed so
- 41:29Speaker 1: many lives, and I think we all have to accept
- 41:32Speaker 1: the different callings that we have in our life. So
- 41:35Speaker 1: but hearing him talk about the racism in Wilmington was
- 41:39Speaker 1: very insightful, how he felt about his parents, what his
- 41:44Speaker 1: parents did to keep him out of trouble, his relationship
- 41:47Speaker 1: with his brothers, and just his fight, man, his fight,
- 41:52Speaker 1: and how he got over. Very very inspirational story. Now,
- 41:56Speaker 1: with that said, I'm listening into this talk of Lebron,
- 42:04Speaker 1: Kobe and Michael, and please don't anybody take this in
- 42:08Speaker 1: any disrespectful way because Kobe's passed. I'm just talking from
- 42:13Speaker 1: the pure sense of basketball. We are talking about three
- 42:17Speaker 1: outstanding players and then the clutch. You can take any
- 42:21Speaker 1: wonderful Now when it comes to the game winning shot
- 42:26Speaker 1: in your hand, the game winning shot in your hand,
- 42:31Speaker 1: you want Kobe the head the ball. If you want
- 42:38Speaker 1: the man on the team that the team rises to
- 42:42Speaker 1: elevate themselves around, you want Jordan. If you want championship
- 42:50Speaker 1: basketball six six man against some vicious cats. He beat
- 42:57Speaker 1: the Lakers, he beat the Celtics, He'd beat damned Detroit.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Hold up, man, These these teams was gangsters all No
- 43:08Speaker 1: more teams like that. Do you understand what the Balton
- 43:12Speaker 1: Celtics was with McHale, Parish, Bird, Walton Johnson, Aimes, Tim
- 43:20Speaker 1: Boys was nasty? What was the guy named I had
- 43:24Speaker 1: freckles to play. Dennis Johnson, that boy man lord him
- 43:29Speaker 1: lock up shoot and and and and these cats and
- 43:32Speaker 1: they played. They beat the Lakers. Man, y'all listen to me.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Listen to me. He beat the best of the best, man. Yeah,
- 43:41Speaker 1: forget the road to get that was tough and seriously,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and they just they don't have teams like that anymore.
- 43:50Speaker 1: The game is not that way. This is a three
- 43:53Speaker 1: point game, or this is a jump shooter's game and
- 43:56Speaker 1: a dunker's game. Because yeah, you can go into pay
- 44:00Speaker 1: now and don't because don't nobody lea there. Coming up
- 44:03Speaker 1: next the nephew in the building with the prank call
- 44:06Speaker 1: for today. That's right after this you're listening show, coming
- 44:12Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, right about four
- 44:15Speaker 1: minutes after it's my Strawberry letter for today. Subject he

- 53:59Speaker 1: all right, This one said as the subject is, he
- 54:01Speaker 1: has the mama and the daughter hooked. All right. So,
- 54:05Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm writing for my friend because she
- 54:09Speaker 1: has lost her mind and I need her to realize
- 54:11Speaker 1: what she's doing is wrong. My twenty eight year old
- 54:15Speaker 1: friend has two children by her mother's fifty six year
- 54:20Speaker 1: old boyfriend, who I'll call Larry. Okay, her mother thinks
- 54:25Speaker 1: that she has been dating a guy that she met
- 54:27Speaker 1: in college, and she's never even asked to meet this guy.
- 54:31Speaker 1: I honestly can't stand Larry, and whenever I'm around him,
- 54:36Speaker 1: he seemed like a pervert. But my friend is old
- 54:39Speaker 1: enough and smart enough to know better. Larry is paying
- 54:42Speaker 1: her car note and her rent. Larry only sees her
- 54:45Speaker 1: children when they are visiting their grandmother, who happens to
- 54:49Speaker 1: be his girlfriend. I don't know what my friend sees
- 54:52Speaker 1: in him, but he has some kind of hold on her.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I told my friend that her mother will be devastated
- 54:58Speaker 1: if she finds out about her affair with Larry, and
- 55:01Speaker 1: my friend basically said that her mom is no fool.
- 55:04Speaker 1: My friend is college educated and doing well for herself,
- 55:08Speaker 1: but she doesn't have any positive role models in her life.
- 55:12Speaker 1: After she graduated from college, she moved back in with
- 55:15Speaker 1: her mom, and three years later she got pregnant. She
- 55:19Speaker 1: confided in me and I told her it was time
- 55:21Speaker 1: for her to move out and get her own apartment,
- 55:24Speaker 1: hoping that would end the affair with Larry. But she
- 55:27Speaker 1: told me that Larry is a real man and guys
- 55:29Speaker 1: our age do not know how to treat women. She
- 55:33Speaker 1: had the second baby recently and said Larry is planning
- 55:36Speaker 1: to move in with her to take their relationship to
- 55:39Speaker 1: the next level. I have been thinking about sending an
- 55:41Speaker 1: anonymous letter to my friend's mom to let her know
- 55:43Speaker 1: about Larry, but I don't want any of this to
- 55:46Speaker 1: be traced back to me. I love my friend, but
- 55:49Speaker 1: I can't stand what she's doing to her mom. How
- 55:53Speaker 1: can I get her away from Larry? Please advise? This
- 55:57Speaker 1: is horrible, I mean this is really bad. Yeah, your
- 56:01Speaker 1: friend's boyfriend slash I guess boyfriend step daddy whatever he
- 56:09Speaker 1: is to her. I mean, he's just disgusting and file
- 56:12Speaker 1: with it. And your friend is she crazy for real?
- 56:17Speaker 1: Because she's certainly acting like it. She doesn't get it.
- 56:20Speaker 1: And I feel really sorry for her mom. I mean,
- 56:22Speaker 1: this is the ultimate portrayal. Not only are they sleeping together,
- 56:27Speaker 1: but two kids came out of this. I mean they
- 56:30Speaker 1: didn't have to have the kids, They didn't have to
- 56:33Speaker 1: go that far with it. I mean, they use no protection,
- 56:36Speaker 1: had reckless disregard for everything and everyone, all because he's
- 56:41Speaker 1: paying your rent and giving you money. And then on
- 56:46Speaker 1: top of that, your friend is staying with her mom
- 56:48Speaker 1: and her mom's house. How disrespectful I mean. And the
- 56:52Speaker 1: poor babies don't know their own father. They will they
- 56:55Speaker 1: ever know? How can they know? Because if they know
- 56:58Speaker 1: who the father is, then you know the jig is
- 57:01Speaker 1: up at that point. And another thing that's puzzling in
- 57:04Speaker 1: this letter for me, Steve, this was I don't know
- 57:08Speaker 1: exactly what you meant when you said her mom would
- 57:11Speaker 1: be devastated, and then your friend said her mother is
- 57:16Speaker 1: no fool. I mean, what was she saying. Was she
- 57:19Speaker 1: saying that her mother knows or suspects something? I just
- 57:23Speaker 1: don't believe that could be it, because how could her
- 57:26Speaker 1: mother know or be no fool about what's going on
- 57:29Speaker 1: and then not do something about it or not react.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I don't get that part. But to you friend who
- 57:35Speaker 1: wrote the letter, I say, you know, I know you care,
- 57:40Speaker 1: I know you want to help, and I especially know
- 57:42Speaker 1: you feel for the mom because we all do. But
- 57:46Speaker 1: this is just not your business. It's just not You
- 57:49Speaker 1: have to stay out of this and let them work
- 57:51Speaker 1: it out for themselves. You have to, Steve, this is crazy. Wow.
- 57:59Speaker 1: This year old friend of hers that has these two children,
- 58:04Speaker 1: two children by her mother's fifty six year old boyfriend
- 58:09Speaker 1: named Larry. Her mother thinks that she's been dating a
- 58:13Speaker 1: guy that she met in college. She ain't even never
- 58:17Speaker 1: asked to meet this guy. You don't like Larry because
- 58:21Speaker 1: whenever you're around him, he seems like a pervert. Seems.
- 58:26Speaker 1: But your friend is smart and old enough to know better.
- 58:30Speaker 1: You say, Okay, well, let's just deal with that part
- 58:33Speaker 1: of it. Larry is paying her cardinal and her wrin.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Larry only sees their children when they are visiting their grandmother,
- 58:45Speaker 1: who happens to be his girlfriend. Okay, let's stop right here. Okay,
- 58:51Speaker 1: Larry is one trifling ass man. He's just a trifling dude.
- 59:00Speaker 1: First of all, you got two kids. The only time
- 59:04Speaker 1: he sees them is when they over at the house
- 59:07Speaker 1: visiting any grandmother. And who do they think Larry is?
- 59:11Speaker 1: How trifling can you be? I don't know what my
- 59:14Speaker 1: friend sees in him, but he got a hold on her.
- 59:16Speaker 1: I told my friend to be her mom would be
- 59:18Speaker 1: devastated and she finds out about her a fad with Larry,
- 59:21Speaker 1: and my friend basically said her mom is no fool.
- 59:24Speaker 1: My friend is college educated, doing well for herself, but
- 59:27Speaker 1: she doesn't have any positive role models in her life.
- 59:29Speaker 1: What do having a positive role model in your life
- 59:33Speaker 1: got to do? What? You're having a baby by two
- 59:36Speaker 1: babies by your mama, boyfriend, right, you need a role
- 59:40Speaker 1: model to not to do that to your mama, to
- 59:43Speaker 1: your own mother. You don't need a role model not
- 59:48Speaker 1: to do that, right man, you can know you know
- 59:52Speaker 1: not to do that from any damn body, right. Hell,
- 59:56Speaker 1: criminals no better than that. So I don't understand this
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: right here. I'm trying to make some sense of it.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: And she said, if you told her mother you're free,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: and basically said her, Mama, no food, we come back.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: I finished this ignorant answer that it is this Smith
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Rifling mess going on. All right, we'll have part two
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: of Steve's response coming up at twenty three minutes after
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: the our subject. He has the mama and the daughter hooked.

- 1:01:10Speaker 1: this opera ends Wednesday. Come on, Steve, Let's recap today's
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: most trifling letter. It says the subject he has the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: mama and the daughter hooked. Twenty eight year old girl
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: got two kids by her mama's fifty six year old boyfriend.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: They're gonna call him, lady. Your friend is old enough
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: to small enough, no better. But Larry's paying her car
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: note and her frind. Larry only sees these two children
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: when they are visiting their grandmother. So what is the
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: kids calling Larry, who is actually their daddy? But if
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: they calling him Paul, Paul, Uncle, Paul Paul, what is
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: they calling Larry? Because they damn show ain't calling him
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: daddy now. So y'all sitting over there with this disfunctional
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Land family, y'all got? And I told my friend that
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: her mother gonna be devastating when she finds out about
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: her affair with Larry. Your friend. Basically said, her mom
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: is no fool. My friend is college educated and doing
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: well for herself, but she doesn't have any positive role
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: models in her life. My last question before we left
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: was what does a positive role model have to do
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: with you sleeping with your mama's boyfriend and they had
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: two kids buying right, You don't need a role model
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: not to do that. All you got to do is
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: not be trifling. You don't need a role model not
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: to be trifling. Seems impossible here now. After she graduated
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: from college, she moved back in with her mama, and
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: three years later she got pregnant. She confided in me
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: and I told her it was time for her to
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: move out and get her own apartment, hoping that she
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: would end the affair with Larry. Now, I thought you
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: said in the letter that he was paying her a
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: cardinal and her rent, so she must be paying her
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: mama rent. So Larry is just recycling the money. So
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Larry give her the money for the rent. She get
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: the money to her mama, and he playing her fifty
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: sixty her mama, so he getting the money right back. Now.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: I think she moved into the apartment. Steve moved into
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: waterpartment I think when her when her friend suggested that
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: she moved, she moved, even though she don't say that
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: in the letter she confided in me. I told her
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: was timing her to move out and get her own apartment,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: hoping that with the end the affair with Larry. But
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: she told me that Larry is a real man, and
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: guys our age don't know how to treat women. Oh,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Larry's a real man, and guys your age don't know
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: how to treat women. You mean, the way he treating
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: your your mama. That's a real man, Because guys your
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: age don't know how to treat a woman. You mean,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: the way he treating your mama and you and them kids.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: You got a pispo definition or how a man on
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: to treat children, mothers, daughters and women. You have a
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: bad misconception because he ain't doing nothing for none of y'all.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: She had the second baby recently and said, Larry is
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: planning to move in with her. Okay, So I see
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: what you're saying. Okay, And Larry's planning to move in
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: with her to take that relationship to the next level.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Where is it going? So let me ask you something
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: you twenty eight he fifty six, that's twenty eight years
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: older than you. What is the future with this food?
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: And who the next you he gonna meet? Now? If
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: he isn't screwed around on your mama with you, you
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: don't think he'll screw around on you with your mama.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: I mean, are you nuts? He's seeing your mama now
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: it's her mama's boyfriend's girl. And then now this lady
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: that wrote the letter says, I've been thinking about sitting
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: an anonymous letter to my friend's mom to let her
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: know about Laric. You don't have to send a letter.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: There's no way this can stay hidden. There is no
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: way they can play this all the way out because
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: somebody at one point in time got to ask the
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: question where my daddy. Somebody at one point in time
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: has to be responsible for these children. Somebody gonna let
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: something slip, because all y'all stupid. If your mama and
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: a fool, she gonna find out the kids got to
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: look like somebody. I feel sorry for the children. Man.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: This trifling on so many novelsmen. Man, this letter is
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: a damn shame. But I don't want any of this
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: to be traced back to me. It's gonna come right
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: back to you. Everybody gonna blame you. Larry gonna blame you,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: your friend gonna blame you, The mama gonna blame you. You.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: This ain't gonna work out for nobody in the letter
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: and nobody that wrote the letter. How can I get
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: her away from Larry? You can't. She gotta want to
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: fix herself. Just be her friend and be there with
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: a bead, to be there for when she falls. She
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: gonna fall. This is hard, This is all. But don't
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: write that letter though, oh system, thank you, No, please
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: don't shut it out out of it all right. Post
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter at Steve Harvey FM
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: on Instagram and Facebook. Yeah that was the crazy one
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: right here Tommy saying god, do you know? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: and please check out the Strawberry Letter podcast to undermand
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: it now, coming up at forty six minutes after the hour.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Today is National, Say it isn't so, Today's National Poetry
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Reading Day. Say it's Shirley and our resident poet, Junior
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: is what else? Just had his last week national? Now
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: he's national with it. Now we'll be back right after this.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Morning Show. Today is National Poetry
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Reading Day. No it's not. Yeah it is, yea, yeah
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: it is. Yeah, dat, it's a national day, Steve. I'm
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: feeling improved. Maybe he's improved. You know what, I don't
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: feel a little to day. I really don't want I
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: don't want you to love you know. And the jus
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: here Junior is here on this National Poetry Day. Man,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: here go words, words work. I'm sorry, see there see
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: here though, words, words, words, That's what I'm all about.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: I mixed them all up in my head then I
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: spit them out. So here's to all the words. Smith,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: be a lady, old man. Just keep bringing that a
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: heat with your flowing rhymes, because I'm your biggest fan.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Some people think it's easy to take a word and
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: make it rhyme, but you need its imagination and a
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: bit cheap glass of wine. So here's all the Laurette's
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: linguist rappers and son of tears of all kinds lay
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: down those funky words and tracks and keep on blowing
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: their mind. So here's the National Poetry Day. You a
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: poet and you know it, Now go show it the end. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about. Boy, I didn't have a
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: poetry day for a minute, Little Rudy. Yeah, I know
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: you you words words, words, These is all that he
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: can say for. Junior thought that this was a good
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: title on National Poetry Day. We sat here and we listened.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: We tried to believe as hard as we could. I
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: knew as soon as he opened up his damn mouth
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: that was none of this is gonna be worth for
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: damn No, it would words words words is the name
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: of this poem? Why did he name it that? When
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: he knew where this was going, it was headed to
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: nowhere slowly but not too fast. But this is Junior's
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: last poem. I promise you from the bottom and the crack,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: so you flower keep going, keep flowing. Oh my gosh,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I've never experienced so much hate for poets. I love
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: about your poem is the way you end them. Coming
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, we'll we'll talk
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: about something good, the Harvey Foundation, the Virtual Mentoring experience.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to show a right Steve
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: in this tell me something good segment us something good. Yeah,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: we want you to tell us about the virtual mentoring
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: mondays from the Harvey Foundation. Yeah, I surprised. Some boys
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: um all over the country, different parts of uh. They
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: are all thinking that they're coming on to do the
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: interviews to see if they get selected for the camp
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: this year. And so I have some technical people talking
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: to him, and then in the middle of it, they say, hey,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: well I'm I got a technical difficulty. Let me bring
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: somebody in there straighten it out. And then usually ask
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: my son went and he gets up and walks off camera,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: and then I come and sit down. And then that's
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: when the boys used to go and their mouth be open,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Oh hell no, sty MoMA's Steve Harvey on my computer.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: And so then I asked the boys different things about
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: themselves so I can get to know him a little bit.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: And then we get into it and I ask them,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: is there anything you ever wanted to ask me? And
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: they all have questions. Man. One of the last week,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: this boy wanted to know how do I how do
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I become a man when I've been around all women,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: and you know, some of the questions are heart king,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: mister Harvard, do you think I can never find me
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: a role model? I ain't talk to my daddy in
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: seven years, you know, And so it's it's really uh,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: But I try to keep it lighthearted with the boys,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: but always give them at the end of it. I
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: give them computers. I gave a kid Monday ten thousand
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: dollars scholarship from me and my wife to go to
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: North Carolina at and T. I gave him scholarship to
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: go there. I gave these twins, these little boys that
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: was twins. Only one of them was on and he
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: wanted to go to the camp, and I took him
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: and his brother and then I get a parent some help.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: One of these dudes mothers was in really really bad shape.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: But she had college degrees and everything had just fallen
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: on hard times and she has a disabled child and
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: she just couldn't keep up with the medical bills and
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: she lost everything. And so you know, we gave her
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: a few thousand dollars and some stuff to help her
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: out with. And it's just a great program. Man. It's
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: what I've been wanting to do with some of my
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: downtime instead of doing you know, I get so many
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: requests to do so many things virally, you know, and
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I turned down most of them because I just try
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: to do stuff, stuff that's meaningful, because that's what I
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: try to do with my time now. And but I
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: think the Memory Mondays has been really really rewarding for
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: me in the foundation to help these young boys like this.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: And we're starting to get a lot of traction with
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: it too, get getting getting several hundred thousand views on it,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: so it could be affecting more boys than just the one.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Beautiful Yeah, yeah, how miss something good that you love me? Yeah,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: excellence that you continue to do that virtually, you know,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: even doing quarantine and lockdown, you know, the problem still
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: exists yet. How's the younger guy you told us which one? Oh,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: the one that got jumped on. Yeah, we're struggling with
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: that one man because you know, I mean, nobody can
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: get to him. You know, we're all on lockdown and quarantine.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: But so the good thing is he's not in school
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: right now, so that stopped. He has a really really
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: positive attitude. His heart just burst when I told him
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: he was coming to the mentoring camp. And then because
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: we got some cats down now that will stop all
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: that bullying. Yeah, when he lead a camp, he'll leave
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: with friends and thementum, we're gonna shed all that down.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: But you know, our program deals with bullying and we
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: get involved with these boys lives, and we got mentors
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: that go up to the schools and talk to the boys.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: That's produing the bullying. You know, we get a real
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: checking balance, a lot of success. That's awesome, Steve. All right, well,
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: coming up, thank you as always for giving back. Coming
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: up more of today's trending stories on the Steve Harvey
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Morning Show. We'll be back at twenty minutes after the hour.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: All right, So Steve Tyler Perry wants to get back
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: to work, but he's not doing it without putting some
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: provisions in place. Okay, so listen to this. Tyler won't
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: open his studios until he can implement a coronavirus testing
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: situation for his cast members and his crew members. Tyler
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: also wants everyone to live on site during shooting for
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: the record. The three hundred and thirty acre former army
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: facility has one hundred and forty one barracks, forty historic homes,
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: and an additional thirty houses Perry's company built on the
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: lot for various productions. He also plans to provide a
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: doctor and a nurse for a hospital building that is
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: also on the site that can be turned into a
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: functional clinic, and the compound includes a gym, bar and restaurants.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: At this point, Tyler is just reopening with his own productions.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: He's doing six TV shows, you know, and it takes
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: just under three weeks to film a season because he
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: knows I'll do it quickly. Yeah, he's really smart and
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: that's the way to do it. He's in Atlanta where
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: George is opening up. But he's very smart man, and
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: if he's going to take these type of precautions, he's
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: got enough land. I've been all over that studio. He
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: took me on a tour. He's got enough houses built
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: over there and enough lands for his crew can live
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: right there without getting infected by anybody else. Once you
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: take the test and you're cleard, wow, smart. Yeah, I
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: want to do family feud over there the rest of it.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Congratulations to Tyler Perry as always well of the Steve
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show and some trending news coming up at
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: thirty three minutes after the hour right after this your list.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: All right, Steve, here we go. This is your time.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Time to ask the CLO, the Chief Love Officer. This
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: is from anonymous in the US. Okay, he's yeah, they
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: really don't want to know right who they are? All Right,
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: here we go. I'm so embarrassed for cheating on my wife,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: but I get so turned on by my girlfriend being
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: half naked and smelling good, and her house smells good,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: and she's feminine and freaky at the same time whenever
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I'm with her. This is what I long for from
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: my wife, but she no longer gives me that. I
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: want the same little, freaky and fine woman back that
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: I'm married. Why do some wives think it's cool to
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: let the spark go out of their marriage? Steve Harvey
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: clo Well, dog, listen to me, careful. I don't think
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: that you can blame women for this. Women are reactionary creatures,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: and I have found through experience, if you dig deep
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: behind it, this usually due to something. If the spark
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: is gone in your wife, could it possibly be anything
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: you've done to stop igniting the spark? And I'm done?
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Look and look man, real, I'm just I'm just keeping
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: it one hundred with you. Because women are very reactionary people.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: They can't just hop into the sack when you're ready.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: They have to have a reason, and if we stop
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: giving them the reason, then they can affect that. Now,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: what you've done is the atypical thing that a lot
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: of men will do. If you're not getting what you
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: want at home, some men go outside to find it.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: This will eventually backfire. Sad to say, it will eventually backfire. Now,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: this woman who is feminine, freaky fine house, always smelling
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: good and all like this, she probably ain't running behind
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: noo kids either, so she can be freaky, feminine and fine.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: And you only come over that every now and then,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: So all she got to do is pull it together
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: every now and then. You with your wife on the
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: day to day, year to year, especially in the quarantine.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: And so, bro, I know you want it back. So
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: in order to get it back, you got to give
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: back to her what you used to give. And if
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: you think about it closely enough, I can almost assure you,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: if you retrace your steps, you can find something that
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: you stop doing. All right, coming up our last break
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: of the day, last break heart day. He's so sick,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: all right, and we'll have some closing remarks from the
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey and forty nine minutes after
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: the hour, right after this you're listening to show here
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: we are last break up the day as promised. It's
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: been a good day. Yeah, busy, good good. You heard
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: two two great, two different poems we heard today that yeah,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Strawberry Lettuce. Yeah, mister Larry, Yeah, a daughter was sleeping
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: with her mother's husband. I'me her mother's boyfriend and had
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: two kids by him. Doesn't get much crazier than that.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: These letters, I know right there it is ain't trying
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: to get to him at all. Right, Mamma do yeah,
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: all right, Steve, it's on you time for our closing remarks.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: You ready, Yeah, you know this is a different type
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: of closing remark because this is just a personal commentary.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: I don't know if this would be inspirational, more so
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: as it will be just for me to vent some
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: things that I've been thinking during this time that we've
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: all had to deal with. I think about our country, America.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: I grew up here, My family is here, my friends
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: are here, a lot of businesses here, some of my
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: closest relationships are here. So this country belongs to me
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: to a degree, and so I have every right to
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: say what I'm about to say about it. I'm just
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: curious though, as we go through this challenging time in
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: America and we are dealing with the leadership that's coming
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: from Washington, DC and the leadership that's coming from the
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: governor's mansions around this country and the mayor's offices. I
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: have a way that I've been looking at this. I
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: think the mayors overall are doing a fine job of it.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I think most of the governors get it. Some of
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: them don't. But when it comes to Washington and Pennsylvania Avenue,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I just don't know what's going on. I can't get
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: a bead on exactly what they're saying because there's so
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: many mixed signals. Now we are in an election year.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: Now me for me, every person only gets one vote.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: We as African Americans have got to start to valuing
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: our vote the way other people do. Because there's not
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: a candidate anywhere that does not think the Black vote
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: is important, The African American vote is important, and they're
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: leaning very heavily to understand the importance of the Latino vote.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: In other words, all minority votes count, and if we
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: started respecting it and taking care of it the way
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: they ask for it every four years, now they don't
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: care about us the rest of the time, but during
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: an election year or they're short because they need that vote.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: But the person that we have in the White House,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: you have a chance to vote for him, or you
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: have a chance to vote against him. That's really what
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: this is going to happen in November. And so whoever
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: you vote for, that's your business. I wanted to just
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: to ask you a question in the form of a
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: commentary the person that's in the White House now, I
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: wonder if you're really really a Trump's reporter. I'm just
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: asking you a question here. Is this the example of
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: who you want your kids to look up to as
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: a leader? Is this an example of how you would
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: act or behave as a leader? Would you do it
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: the way he's done it or would you do it differently?
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Would you say any of the things he said or
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: would you have phrased them differently? Would you? Would you?
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Would you try to convince people that nothing was your
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: fault when clearly it the blame has to be squarely
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: on your shoulders because you're the leader. If you were
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: his wife, would you be accepting of all of this?
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: This is just a weird time for me, and as
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: we go into this election, man, and he does rallies
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: and he as so many supporters. It kind of just
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: throws me off a little bit. And once again, if
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: you vote for him, that's your business. If you don't
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: vote for him, that's your business. But in my commentary,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: I'm just asking this question right here, is this who
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: you are? Because what's frightening to me is it's a
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: lot of good people who are conservatives, a lot of
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: good Democrats, a lot of good left wing, a lot
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: of good right wing. It's a lot of good socialist.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: It's a lot of good people on both sides of
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: the aisle. And in their own way, they both are
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: right to a degree, because there is no one or
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: no thing that's exact and right, so we all are
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: right to a degree. But in your righteousness, can you
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: really say that he's the person you wan't representing you,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: that he's the person that exemplifies the American way? And
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: if you can look back at all he's done and
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: said and claimed and changed and you could say this
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: is how we would like to be represented, then that's you.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: And that's scary. And that's the thing that saddens me
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: about this. It's because you can look at a person
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: and know he is ever so wrong, and you can't
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: look at everything he does and let it slide and
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: be ever so wrong and go along with it. Anyway.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: I'm not that guy. I'm just not that guy. And
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: I'm just wondering how many people are we got to vote?
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Your vote counts. That's my closing remarks. That's it for together,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: have a good one out. Normally I say, hey, look,
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: have a great weekend, y'all, but just have another day
