- 0:00Speaker 1: OK.
- 0:00Speaker 2: And then I said, yeah, he's a dumb guy. And
- 0:02Speaker 2: then I said he's a Democrat. And I don't know
- 0:04Speaker 2: if people are going to like that term or not,
- 0:06Speaker 2: but it's true that policies are insane and they would
- 0:10Speaker 2: drive our country into ruin. And we've got to do
- 0:13Speaker 2: great in the midterms, and if we don't, they will
- 0:15Speaker 2: do everything they can to destroy our country.
- 0:17Speaker 3: There's something wrong with them.
- 0:19Speaker 1: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Good Saturday morning.
- 0:24Speaker 4: It's nice to have you with us on the forty
- 0:25Speaker 4: seven Morning UPDAT, and we've got two major stories for you.
- 0:28Speaker 4: First up, the midterms are getting really close. So what
- 0:32Speaker 4: is it that the present needs you to do and
- 0:34Speaker 4: what does he have to do to sell the country
- 0:37Speaker 4: to make sure that we don't lose control of the
- 0:39Speaker 4: House or the Senator both in the midterm elections.
- 0:42Speaker 3: We break it down.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Up next in a shocking story, the Southern Poverty Law
- 0:47Speaker 4: Center may be putting their radical political agenda inside of
- 0:52Speaker 4: your kids and your grandkids' heads in our.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Public schools all over the country.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Just how much influence does their career kill him have
- 1:01Speaker 4: and where is it being used?
- 1:02Speaker 3: I'll give you that as well.
- 1:03Speaker 4: It's a forty seven morning update and it starts right now.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Story number one. President Donald Trump.
- 1:10Speaker 4: He is very concerned about the midterm elections, and it's
- 1:14Speaker 4: clear that he's trying to be president of the United
- 1:16Speaker 4: States of America. But he also understands that if he
- 1:20Speaker 4: doesn't turn into Donald Trump the campaigner right now, that
- 1:23Speaker 4: we could have major problems come November. Now, President Trump
- 1:28Speaker 4: is making it very clear that the Republicans better get
- 1:32Speaker 4: their act together, saying that the midterm elections are not
- 1:35Speaker 4: just another political fight, but in his words, they are
- 1:39Speaker 4: make or break for his presidency, his agenda in the
- 1:42Speaker 4: future direction of the country. We also are learning now
- 1:46Speaker 4: that behind closed doors, it's also getting really intense. Trump
- 1:52Speaker 4: has been warning Republicans that if they lose control of Congress,
- 1:56Speaker 4: Democrats will immediately move to cripple's second term with investigation, subpoenas,
- 2:01Speaker 4: and potentially even another impeachment effort. Democrats have said they're
- 2:05Speaker 4: actually willing to go further than Donald Trump and impeach
- 2:08Speaker 4: the Vice President j. D Vance and also go after
- 2:12Speaker 4: and try to impeach cabinet members as well. There was
- 2:15Speaker 4: a House Republican retreat that happened earlier this year. Trump
- 2:20Speaker 4: bluntly told the lawmakers, you gotta win the mid terms,
- 2:24Speaker 4: and he warned that if Republicans lose, they'll find a
- 2:27Speaker 4: reason to impeach me. Now, whether you love President Trump
- 2:31Speaker 4: or hate him, there's no denying the political reality behind
- 2:34Speaker 4: what he's saying. This is a party, and I'm talking
- 2:38Speaker 4: about the Democratic Party that's made it clear they are
- 2:41Speaker 4: going to weaponize government to subpoena and to destroy anyone
- 2:45Speaker 4: that is around Donald Trump.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Why. Because that's all they have to run on.
- 2:50Speaker 4: They hate Donald Trump, and it seems to make their
- 2:53Speaker 4: base want to show up to vote. The White House
- 2:56Speaker 4: knows that if Democrats retake the House, the next two
- 3:00Speaker 4: years will turn into non stop political warfare. And it's
- 3:04Speaker 4: exactly what they did back in twenty sixteen, twenty eighteen,
- 3:08Speaker 4: and really every year even when Joe Biden was in office.
- 3:11Speaker 4: There will be committee investigations. They will explode overnight. I'm
- 3:15Speaker 4: quoting Democrats. They've already said that hearings will dominate cable news.
- 3:21Speaker 4: It's not a legitimate agenda for America. It's a legitimate
- 3:25Speaker 4: agenda destroy the presidency of the United States of America,
- 3:29Speaker 4: and that's why Donald Trump has been aggressively pressuring Republicans
- 3:33Speaker 4: to unify around a simple message. We secure the border,
- 3:37Speaker 4: we strengthen the economy, we lower prices, we restore law
- 3:42Speaker 4: and order, and you compare that to the radical Democrat chaos.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:47Speaker 4: The President also saying this about the midterms at the
- 3:51Speaker 4: White House earlier.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Good then I said, you know, he's a dumb guy,
- 3:54Speaker 2: and then I said he's a Democrat. And I don't
- 3:56Speaker 2: know if people are gonna like that term or not.
- 3:59Speaker 2: It maybe catches and maybe it doesn't. But it's true
- 4:01Speaker 2: that policies are insane and they would drive our country
- 4:05Speaker 2: into ruin. And we've got to do great in the midterms,
- 4:09Speaker 2: and if we don't, they will do everything they can
- 4:11Speaker 2: to destroy our country. There's something wrong with them. The
- 4:13Speaker 2: flow of deadly fedonyl across our border is down, by
- 4:17Speaker 2: the way, by over sixty percent, which is a record.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Nobody ever thought it was even possible. And coming in
- 4:23Speaker 2: by sea, it's down by ninety seven percent. And again
- 4:27Speaker 2: we're trying to find the three percent because we consider
- 4:30Speaker 2: them to be among the bravest people anywhere in the world.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Anybody willing to get into one of those votes. After
- 4:35Speaker 2: what they've witnessed, we would consider them to be among
- 4:39Speaker 2: the bravest in the world. These gains have been the result.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And what a job our military and others are doing.
- 4:46Speaker 3: With respect is.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That right, Paul, With respect to drugs coming in by sea,
- 4:50Speaker 2: meaning drugs coming in by water, by the ocean, by
- 4:53Speaker 2: the say, a lot of people don't know what I
- 4:54Speaker 2: mean by sea.
- 4:56Speaker 4: President Trump talking at the White House and again making
- 4:59Speaker 4: it clear the control of the House is literally going
- 5:02Speaker 4: to come down to just a handful of districts in
- 5:05Speaker 4: states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, the swing states.
- 5:13Speaker 4: In many of those races, President Warrens will be decided
- 5:16Speaker 4: by suburban swing voters who have bounced back and forth
- 5:20Speaker 4: between Republican candidates and Democratic candates over the last several
- 5:25Speaker 4: election cycles. Trump is also facing another challenge presidents always
- 5:30Speaker 4: encounter in the midterms. There is a voter complacency. The
- 5:34Speaker 4: team that's in charge usually they stay home because they
- 5:38Speaker 4: feel like everything's fine, and the team that hates the
- 5:41Speaker 4: leadership in Washington, they show up, they're focused, they're angry,
- 5:45Speaker 4: and they want to get rid of conservatives. When your
- 5:48Speaker 4: side wins the White House, some supporters actually, well, they relax, right.
- 5:53Speaker 4: The opposition is energized, and as we know from the
- 5:56Speaker 4: Democratic leaders, they're angry now. Democrats are already organizing around
- 6:01Speaker 4: abortion rights, healthcare costs, and accusations of course, that Trump
- 6:06Speaker 4: is abusing his executive power. Republicans now fear that there's
- 6:12Speaker 4: a real enthusiasm gap. I'm one of those, and that's
- 6:16Speaker 4: why Donald Trump is making it very clear he may
- 6:19Speaker 4: not be on the ballot come November, but his agenda
- 6:23Speaker 4: certainly is. He's essentially telling Republicans, if you want this
- 6:28Speaker 4: presidency to succeed, you have to treat the midterms like
- 6:32Speaker 4: a presidential election. And behind the scenes, the stakes are enormous.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Trump's entire legislative agenda depends on Congress. We're talking about
- 6:43Speaker 4: things that matter to everyday Americans. The most incredible tax
- 6:47Speaker 4: cuts of our lifetime, energy independence and expansion in the US,
- 6:53Speaker 4: immigration reform, judicial appointments, which have been phenomenal for President Trump.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Budget fight, Yes, the President saying we're spending too much money,
- 7:02Speaker 4: getting rid of waste fraud and of use and military spending,
- 7:06Speaker 4: which Democrats always hate. You even have the fight over
- 7:10Speaker 4: the Save Act election law changes. All of it becomes
- 7:14Speaker 4: dramatically harder if Democrats regain power. In many ways, Donald
- 7:20Speaker 4: Trump is now saying the twenty twenty six is literally
- 7:23Speaker 4: the firewall protecting the rest of his presidency. And there's
- 7:28Speaker 4: another major factor here as well. Republicans like to stay
- 7:32Speaker 4: home when they're in power historically, and what the President
- 7:36Speaker 4: is saying is the Democrats aren't going to stay home,
- 7:39Speaker 4: so you shouldn't either.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Now.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Story number two.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Southern Poverty Law Center, Yeah, things aren't going well for them.
- 7:47Speaker 4: The far left quote anti racism group, right, Well, we
- 7:53Speaker 4: now found their curriculum has been found in classrooms as
- 7:56Speaker 4: early as kindergarten. A new watchdog group is exposing apparently
- 8:03Speaker 4: the Southern Poverty Law Center currently facing federal fraud charges
- 8:07Speaker 4: over an alleged covert paid informant program worth three million dollars,
- 8:12Speaker 4: well as the liberal activists organization is facing those charges.
- 8:17Speaker 4: An education watchdog group warned that the group continues to
- 8:21Speaker 4: integrate its far left content and its materials into your kids' classrooms,
- 8:29Speaker 4: and they're doing this as early as kindergarten in more
- 8:33Speaker 4: than forty states.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Across the United States.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Of America, the president of Defending Education, which was once
- 8:42Speaker 4: actually labeled this is not a joke, an extremist group
- 8:45Speaker 4: by the Southern Poverty Law Center, told Fox News Digital
- 8:49Speaker 4: that unbeknownst to parents, the Southern Poverty Law Center has
- 8:53Speaker 4: been poisoning your children's minds around the country for years
- 8:57Speaker 4: with its quote toxic curriculum. Defending Education published a new expose,
- 9:05Speaker 4: and it details how the Southern Poverty Law Center's education program,
- 9:09Speaker 4: called the Learning for Justice, formerly it was known This
- 9:13Speaker 4: is Not a Joke, as teaching tolerance is now heavily
- 9:17Speaker 4: integrated into K through twelve lesson plans and materials and
- 9:21Speaker 4: more than one hundred and sixty nine school districts not
- 9:23Speaker 4: schools school districts in forty two states plus washingt d C.
- 9:29Speaker 4: According to the report, the program's design is to reinforce
- 9:36Speaker 4: far left culture and political ideologies, including what they describe
- 9:42Speaker 4: as anti racism, black lives matter, gender ideology, and most importantly,
- 9:50Speaker 4: with your tax dollars, queer theory, with a side of
- 9:54Speaker 4: white privilege, white supremacy, whiteness, and then, of course, trans genderism.
- 10:01Speaker 4: This is in a one hundred and sixty nine school
- 10:04Speaker 4: districts and forty two states. What does that mean? More
- 10:08Speaker 4: than likely your tax dollars have been going to fund
- 10:10Speaker 4: this curriculum in our schools now. The watch Stock Group
- 10:14Speaker 4: said that due to the Southern property law centers integration
- 10:17Speaker 4: in schools, issues such as queer theory, white privilege, and
- 10:24Speaker 4: anti racism have well become traditional coursework in your kid's
- 10:30Speaker 4: history classes, your kids' social studies classes, and other core
- 10:34Speaker 4: curriculum classes, teaching children of you, themselves and others to
- 10:39Speaker 4: the lens of identity politics and that America is forever
- 10:43Speaker 4: stained by its quote original sin is part of the
- 10:46Speaker 4: curriculum now. According to the Watchstaw Group, the material intentionally
- 10:52Speaker 4: so division and mistrust between students at a formative stage
- 10:58Speaker 4: of their development, adding that is deeply disappointing that administrators
- 11:02Speaker 4: and educators believe this is an appropriate use of the
- 11:05Speaker 4: finite classroom time and resources. But let's be clear, the
- 11:08Speaker 4: majority of public schools in America are failing your kids
- 11:11Speaker 4: at reading, writing, and arithmetic. And you may wonder why, Well,
- 11:15Speaker 4: it's probably because of this type of radical ideology that
- 11:19Speaker 4: has now been indoctrinated in your kid's mind, claiming that
- 11:23Speaker 4: it's actually education when it really isn't now. The Southern
- 11:27Speaker 4: Property Law Center has not responded to requests or comment
- 11:30Speaker 4: for Defending Education's report. The report also reveals to the
- 11:35Speaker 4: Southern Property Law Center's website and documents can be found
- 11:38Speaker 4: actually on your school district web pages, also in teacher
- 11:43Speaker 4: professional development and Trainings, classroom lessons, district wide curriculum, social
- 11:49Speaker 4: emotional learning, social justice standards, and district anti racism and
- 11:55Speaker 4: equity policies and resources. The learning for just this program,
- 12:01Speaker 4: which the report said is focused on quote, Education for
- 12:04Speaker 4: Liberation encourages the implementation of a set of anchor standards
- 12:10Speaker 4: and then they call them age appropriate learning outcomes divided
- 12:14Speaker 4: into domains of number one identity, then diversity, then justice,
- 12:21Speaker 4: and then action. Now under the action category, they say
- 12:24Speaker 4: students are encouraged to commit to join the diverse people
- 12:30Speaker 4: to plan and carry out collective action against exclusion, prejudice,
- 12:35Speaker 4: and discrimination. And also the plan says you should be
- 12:39Speaker 4: thoughtful and creative in our actions in order to achieve
- 12:43Speaker 4: our goals.
- 12:45Speaker 3: And silly me, I thought that school was supposed to
- 12:47Speaker 3: just be.
- 12:47Speaker 4: About reading, writing, and arithmetic, but apparently not anymore. Defending
- 12:52Speaker 4: Educations to the New York State Education Department added equity
- 12:55Speaker 4: revisions to its New York Social Emotional Learning bench that
- 13:00Speaker 4: align the benchmarks with the Southern Poverty Law Centers Social
- 13:04Speaker 4: Justice standards. So they're not just doing the curriculum, they're
- 13:08Speaker 4: mandating and directing how it is actually being taught in
- 13:13Speaker 4: America's schools now. The report also notes that the Smithsonian
- 13:17Speaker 4: National Museum of the American Indian actually lists Learning for
- 13:22Speaker 4: Justice as a recommended resource in certain lesson materials, so
- 13:28Speaker 4: our government is backing it as well. It further points
- 13:32Speaker 4: to guidance and then curriculum resources for the California Department
- 13:36Speaker 4: of Education and the Illinois State Board of Education, as
- 13:40Speaker 4: well as Chicago Public schools that include or reference the standards.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Now let me just hit pause there, and I'm going
- 13:47Speaker 4: to give you some homework. I want you to Google
- 13:50Speaker 4: or use AI and ask AI or Google where does
- 13:55Speaker 4: California's education standards rate? Where does Illinois State Board of
- 14:01Speaker 4: Education standards rate? Where is the Chicago Public school system rate?
- 14:06Speaker 4: And you tell me that at the three places that
- 14:09Speaker 4: they're saying are amazing or so good that you should
- 14:13Speaker 4: be mimicking their lesson plans on all this woke ideology,
- 14:18Speaker 4: ask them. The question a simple question. Why are they
- 14:21Speaker 4: failing their kids so badly in the school system. That's
- 14:24Speaker 4: a question you should be asking right now.
