  I'm thinking today of a verse in Joshua. It is

  chapter 7, verse 12. Joshua 7, 12. It says, So

  basically what's going on here is there are those
• 0:23
  amongst Israel who have transgressed against
• 0:25
  God. They took exactly that which God told them
• 0:28
  they could not take. They did exactly that which
• 0:30
  God told them they could not do. So what this
• 0:33
  verse reminds us is that God will not stand with,
• 0:36
  stand for, bless, provides strength for the one
• 0:39
  who overtly sins against God. If a person intentionally
• 0:43
  stands against God, then they will not have his
• 0:46
  strength to fight their battles. Without God's
• 0:48
  strength, we tend to run or fail. Do we have
• 0:51
  enemies? Of course we do. We deal with evil spirits,
• 0:54
  demons, the world's system, temptation, our flesh.
• 0:58
  Even government at times can be an enemy. But
• 1:00
  the truth is, if we want to stand up against
• 1:02
  our enemies, we had better honor God the way
• 1:05
  we know how to. And when it's very clear from
• 1:07
  God what we are to do, that's what we're supposed
• 1:09
  to do. And when it's very clear from God what
• 1:11
  we are not supposed to do, that's what we're
• 1:13
  not supposed to do. What we're not supposed to
• 1:15
  have, we're not supposed to have it. What we
• 1:17
  are supposed to have, we're supposed to have
• 1:19
  it. And so on. God said they turned their back
• 1:22
  on their enemies because they have become accursed
• 1:24
  and I will not be with them anymore unless you
• 1:27
  destroy the things under the ban from your midst.

  God help us be faithful to you in this crazy
• 1:32
  day that we live.
