  Crisis. I think there's a battle today

  between good and evil. There's always been a battle

  between good and evil throughout human history, but today in

  particular, that battle is raging and the lines are drawn

  between a culture of death and a culture of life.

  We talked about this A. Lot on the show and you guys

  know that's why many of you are listening and because you're

  passionate about this and you want to be informed and.

  Be able to be activated the culture of death is.

  Alive and well in this country and in the West in.

  Particular because of. Abortion because of the

  sexualization and sexual objectification of human beings,

  the breakdown of families and marriages, all of these things.

  Well, this was all. In a way predicted by Saints and
• 3:25
  I would say Mystics of the faith in the 20th century.

  Mother. Teresa, She worked with the.
• 3:31
  Poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India, she was the founding nun
• 3:35
  who founded the Missionaries of Charity.
• 3:37
  She felt a call from God. To go and.
• 3:39
  Serve the poorest of the. Poor in Calcutta, India and she
• 3:43
  worked with the dying and she. Worked with those that were.
• 3:46
  Seen as unwanted and literally left to die in the slums.
• 3:50
  And so she founded these homes of love to.
• 3:52
  Care for those who are. Dying and be love to them.
• 3:56
  Show God's love to them. But I want to share a story.
• 3:59
  That one of live action supporters actually told me and
• 4:03
  it's a very incredible story. This is a gentleman who has
• 4:07
  invested in the work of live action to change hearts and
• 4:09
  minds on abortion and to save lives.
• 4:12
  But he was sharing about how he met Mother.
• 4:13
  Teresa several decades ago. And how he actually went to
• 4:18
  India? To work with her.
• 4:20
  Because she was a St. I mean, she was a living St.
• 4:22
  He wanted to meet with this amazing woman that was inspiring
• 4:25
  the world and, you know, reaching people of every
• 4:28
  culture. And so this wealthy American
• 4:30
  businessman went to Calcutta, India, to the slums to go meet
• 4:34
  Mother Teresa. And he told me about their
• 4:36
  conversation. He told her, Mother Teresa, what
• 4:40
  can I do? I want to help you.
• 4:42
  You know, I want to invest in you, Mother Teresa.
• 4:44
  I want to give you resources. You know, how can I, how can I
• 4:47
  help you? What can I give?
• 4:48
  What can I do and how and how can I pray?
• 4:50
  For you, he was very. Excited to help Mother Teresa,
• 4:53
  this wealthy American businessman, and little Mother
• 4:56
  Teresa's meeting with him in between her.
• 4:57
  Busy day of prayer. And her day of serving the
• 5:00
  poorest of the poor, and she looks at him in the eyes and she
• 5:03
  says you don't need to pray for me, she said.
• 5:07
  You need to pray. For yourself and.
• 5:09
  You need to pray for your country, America.
• 5:12
  Because of what you are. Doing to unborn babies and
• 5:16
  because of the judgement that God may have on you because of
• 5:19
  what you are doing for the to the unborn.
• 5:22
  Think about that. Incredible.
• 5:24
  He's here, he's there. Meeting her as this wealthy man
• 5:27
  who could give her money, who could help her in her.
• 5:30
  Work to serve the poorest. Of the poor physically in
• 5:32
  Calcutta, India. And she's saying you don't.
• 5:36
  I don't want your help. Because you have other.
• 5:38
  People, you need to help, and that's the unborn in your own
• 5:42
  country. I noticed that Mother Teresa
• 5:44
  didn't tell him. Oh, give your money to go help
• 5:47
  pregnancy resource centers. That wasn't her specific message
• 5:49
  to him. And it's not to say we shouldn't
• 5:51
  help pregnancy resource centers. Because of course we should.
• 5:53
  We should all be donating. To our local pregnancy resource.
• 5:56
  Center and serving moms and babies in need in this country.
• 5:59
  That is one of the core elements of our pro-life movement.

  But she was addressing something even greater than material
• 6:05
  poverty with this wealthy businessman.
• 6:08
  She was addressing something called.
• 6:09
  Spiritual poverty. She was saying you have to pray
• 6:12
  for mercy. Because of the.
• 6:14
  Choice that America has made to permit abortion and the choices
• 6:17
  that so many Americans are making for abortion and I want
• 6:21
  to make. This episode today of the Lila

  Rose Podcast about spiritual poverty and.

  About the legacy of Mother Teresa and some of the recent
• 6:28
  things happening in current events.

  That show our spiritual poverty. And what our response can be,
• 6:32
  because what is even greater than material?
• 6:34
  Poverty is spiritual poverty. What is spiritual poverty?
• 6:40
  Well, we all know what material. Poverty is right.
• 6:41
  It's the lack of something that we need.
• 6:44
  It's the lack of maybe food or shelter or clothing, things that
• 6:47
  every human being I believe needs and deserves.
• 6:50
  And we want to. Help those, you know clothes.
• 6:52
  The naked feed, the hungry How's the the homeless If these are
• 6:56
  some of the requirements even of our.
• 6:58
  Faith for us to be. The hands and feet of Jesus.
• 7:02
  But there's something else that people need beyond their food
• 7:05
  and their clothes and their homes.
• 7:07
  These things are of course important, but they need
• 7:10
  something even deeper, and that's spiritual food.
• 7:14
  They need love. They need hope.
• 7:16
  They need. Faith, these are.
• 7:18
  Our greatest supernatural virtues.
• 7:21
  To have faith, hope. And love.
• 7:23
  These are gifts that God. Gives the human person to help
• 7:27
  us ultimately be more like him and to be.
• 7:30
  Able to use. Our.
• 7:32
  Life, the gifts that we have. Whether there are other?
• 7:35
  Food. We have the.
• 7:36
  Clothing we have the shelter we have to then go and love and.
• 7:38
  Serve other people. What is the purpose?
• 7:41
  Of food, of clothing, of shelter, of all these things.
• 7:44
  Yes, protect the dignity of the person.
• 7:47
  Give them what they need. But for us to be able to love
• 7:50
  us, to be able to serve other people, and to be.
• 7:53
  Loved the vocation of every human being at the end of the
• 7:56
  day is not just to eat and to grow and to, you know, sleep and
• 8:01
  wake up again. It's to love.
• 8:03
  It's to. Love and be loved.
• 8:05
  This is what makes us different than anyone else in the animal
• 8:08
  Kingdom is that we are given free will and the ability to
• 8:11
  love, and so spiritual poverty is when we don't.
• 8:15
  Love spiritual poverty. Is when we are so materialistic.
• 8:19
  When we are so focused. On ourselves and our immediate
• 8:23
  pleasures or needs. That we forget that our purpose
• 8:26
  is to love. To want the good.
• 8:28
  For the other. Person to even sacrifice for the
• 8:30
  good and to experience the love of God and the love of.
• 8:33
  Others. That's what spiritual poverty
• 8:35
  is. And So what is abortion then?
• 8:37
  What is abortion and why are people having abortions?
• 8:42
  And abortion is rejecting love. It's saying I don't want to say
• 8:46
  yes to this person's life, this new life.
• 8:50
  Because of the. Responsibilities, the
• 8:52
  consequences, the cost of it. I don't want the love.
• 8:55
  And so I'm going to say no. I'm going to choose to.
• 8:57
  Reject the gift of this person's life.
• 8:59
  I'm going to say no. And that's why abortion is the
• 9:02
  antithesis. Of love.
• 9:04
  So let's listen to some quotes from Mother Teresa now.

  Some of her prophetic words that she had to say.

  To Americans during her time on this earth, I believe now that
• 9:14
  she's in heaven, she's praying for us and for.
• 9:16
  The spiritual poverty to be. Healed in this country and.
• 9:19
  Replaced with the spiritual riches of faith.
• 9:22
  Hope and love. Let's start with.

  Let's start with the. Speech that Mother Teresa gave
• 9:28
  speaking in Washington, DC in 1995 against abortion.

  That is why abortion such a great great in killing the child
• 9:39
  when aborting the child we really if you remember that we
• 9:44
  are doing it to Jesus. Jesus said whatever you do, the
• 9:47
  deadliest you give it to me. So the mother herself destroys
• 9:53
  the presence of Jesus in our heart nearby destroying the
• 9:57
  child. So let us pray and the gift of
• 10:01
  God that in this house with God's blessing.

  All right, so you just. Heard this was an.

  Event that Mother Teresa speaking at in Washington DC in
• 10:11
  1995 and she's speaking about abortion and how abortion, she's
• 10:16
  using these incredibly strong words.

  She's saying that whatever when you have an abortion, when
• 10:21
  mother has an abortion, it is like she's doing that to Jesus.

  She's actually rejecting. Jesus.
• 10:28
  Because Jesus says that whatever you do, to the least of these
• 10:30
  you. Do it to me.

  These are some incredibly powerful.

  Way to realize what what's at stake with that.

  Abortion, I said. Abortions.

  The antithesis. Of love it is.
• 10:41
  It's a. Rejection of God's own gift and
• 10:43
  mother. Teresa's saying it's a rejection
• 10:44
  of Jesus Christ himself because he's saying he takes on radical.
• 10:48
  Solidarity with the least of these, right?
• 10:51
  Jesus Christ says. Whatever you do, to the least of
• 10:52
  these, you do. It to me and whatever you do not
• 10:55
  do the. Due to the.
• 10:56
  Least of these you do not do it to me and if.
• 10:58
  The least of these is. The child in the womb who has no
• 11:00
  power, who has no ability to. Protect his or her life.
• 11:05
  Who's totally dependent on his or her mother?
• 11:08
  Jesus isn't that child. And so Mother Teresa's saying
• 11:11
  what you're doing to the child is what you're doing to Jesus.
• 11:14
  Rejecting that child is rejecting.
• 11:16
  Jesus. OK, we're going.
• 11:17

  speaking at the acceptance of her Nobel Peace.

  Prize. It's an incredible thing that
• 11:28
  Mother Teresa received a Nobel. Peace Prize She.

  Has been lauded by people of all faiths and across cultures as
• 11:36
  this defender of. Peace, but she used this.
• 11:39
  Opportunity upon accepting her gift.
• 11:42
  Of the prize. To say something very specific
• 11:45
  about what peace actually means. So let's play this clip next.

  He went home to God, for death is nothing but going home to
• 11:55
  God. And he having enjoyed that love,

  that being wanted, that being loved, being somebody to
• 12:04
  somebody at the last moment brought that joy in his life.

  And I feel one thing I want to share with you all, the greatest
• 12:16
  destroyer of peace today is the pride of the innocent unborn
• 12:25
  child. If a mother can murder her own
• 12:32
  child in her own womb, what is left for you and for me to kill
• 12:39
  each other? Even in the scripture it is
• 12:45
  written, even if mother would forget her child, I will not
• 12:54
  forget you. I have curved you in the palm of
• 12:59
  my hand, Even if mother could forget.
• 13:04
  But today millions of unborn children are being killed and we
• 13:14
  say nothing. In the newspapers you read
• 13:17
  numbers of this one, that one being, this being destroyed, but
• 13:21
  nobody speaks of the millions of little ones who have been, have
• 13:31
  been conceived with the same life as you and I, with the life
• 13:37
  of God. And we say nothing, we allow it.
• 13:44
  To me, the nations who have legalised abortion, they are the
• 13:50
  poorest nation, they are afraid of little one, they are afraid
• 13:56
  of the unborn child and the child must die because they
• 14:02
  don't want to feed one more child, to educate one more
• 14:06
  child. The child must die.
• 14:09
  And here I ask you in the name of these little ones.
• 14:14
  For it was that unborn child that recognised the presence of
• 14:22
  Jesus when Mary came to visit Elizabeth, her cousin.
• 14:30
  As we read in the Gospel, the moment Mary came into the house,
• 14:36
  the little one in the womb of his mother lived with joy,
• 14:41
  recognized the Prince of Peace. And so today, let us hear make a
• 14:49
  strong resolution. We are going to save every
• 14:53
  little child, every unborn child, give them a chance to be
• 14:58
  born. And what we are doing, we are
• 15:01
  fighting abortion by adoption. And the good God has blessed the
• 15:06
  work so beautifully that we are saved thousands of children and
• 15:11
  thousands of children have found a home where they are loved,
• 15:15
  they are wanted, they are care. We have brought so much joy in
• 15:19
  the halls that there was not a child.
• 15:22
  Wow, this was a speech. In 1979 was when Mother Teresa
• 15:29
  accepted the Nobel Peace. Prize.
• 15:31
  Keep in mind the context. America legalized abortion in
• 15:34
  1970. Three Roe V Wade.
• 15:37
  And throughout the West, abortion has been popping up.
• 15:41
  And she's speaking to. Very powerful.
• 15:43
  People in the room, she's speaking to the most powerful
• 15:48
  people in the world in this speech, many who support
• 15:52
  abortion, and she's using her opportunity in accepting the
• 15:57
  Nobel Peace Prize to tell everyone.

  What the greatest destroyer of peace is.

  And what she? Said is the greatest destroyer
• 16:06
  of peace. Back in 1979.

  Is the greatest destroyer of peace today?

  It's the greatest destroyer of peace today.

  And that as mother. Teresa says is the cry of the.

  Innocent unborn child that. Is the greatest destroyer of
• 16:24
  peace. And she talks about poverty.

  She talks about spiritual poverty.

  She says if a. Mother can murder her own child
• 16:35
  in her own womb. She uses the word murder.

  What is left but for you and for I to kill one another and she
• 16:42
  said that she believes that the nations who have legalized
• 16:44
  abortion are the. Poorest.

  They are the poorest. It's not the third world.
• 16:50
  Guys. It's not the developing world,
• 16:52
  it's America. It's California.
• 16:55
  Whose abortion? On demand through all nine
• 16:56
  months. That is the greatest poverty.

  And she says because they are afraid of the little one, they
• 17:02
  say that the child must die. And she said.

  It's because we have failed. To recognize the presence of

  Jesus. And she's urging us to make a
• 17:10
  strong revolution. She says to save every little
• 17:13
  child. She's telling us save every
• 17:16
  little child, not just some. I think it's also just
• 17:19
  incredible that she talks about how then there's all these
• 17:22
  newspapers and there's all. This talk about all these wars.
• 17:26
  She's saying in the newspapers is talk about, you know, wars.
• 17:30
  And she says, but no one speaks of the millions, she says, of
• 17:34
  little ones who have been killed in the nations that have
• 17:37
  legalized abortion. Incredible.

  These words are even more important for us.
• 17:43
  Today to hear. These are the most important
• 17:45
  words we could hear today when it comes to this election, this
• 17:48
  historic election, when it comes to.
• 17:51
  The causes that we care about our day-to-day lives.
• 17:54
  What is the most important news story?
• 17:57
  What should be headline news? There was a really tragic.
• 18:01
  Shooting this past week. Horrible, horrible shooting.
• 18:04
  The loss of several lives. A young 14 year old kid opened
• 18:08
  fire and his classmates. Rightfully so.
• 18:11
  That was headline. News.
• 18:12
  Rightfully so. The nation is angry, mourning,
• 18:14
  debating laws about guns, debating what this means, what
• 18:17
  we need to do to protect children.
• 18:20
  That's all. Rightfully so, that we have.
• 18:22
  That conversation that we learn and mourn about what is
• 18:25
  happening. But think of this.
• 18:28
  There's over. 3000 children being killed today. 3000
• 18:33
  eclipses any other death toll. It certainly eclipses deaths to
• 18:38
  guns. It eclipses death to car
• 18:40
  accidents, death to any other kind of homicide or murder,
• 18:43
  death to cancer. The leading cause of death in
• 18:48
  the world today and in America today is the killing of preborn
• 18:52
  children by abortion. Mother Teresa saw this
• 18:55
  prophetically and she spoke against it.
• 18:58
  And I think it's a requirement for all people of good
• 19:00
  conscience to speak against. This leading cause of death
• 19:03
  today, the. Murder of our innocent preborn
• 19:06
  brothers and sisters. This should be headline news.
• 19:08
  This is the leading cause of death and it's spiritual
• 19:12
  poverty. It is spiritual poverty that.
• 19:14
  At the core is driving the crisis.
• 19:17
  Yes, we need to be hands and feet materially and support
• 19:21
  women in need and families in need.

  devastating remarks recently that I think we need to know

  President Trump himself has come out and said he doesn't support

  campaign strategy is fear mongering about why you need

  abortion. And abortion is amazing.

  What is abortion? Mother Teresa just reminded us.

  Abortion is the cry of the innocent unborn child.

  Abortion is the killing, the murder, she said of an innocent

  unborn child. It is the worst poverty.

  It is spiritual poverty. It is darkness.

  Kamala is going to somehow unify us and then endorsing Kamala for

  Why was that so important for you to do?

  The reaction was great. There's also obviously a lot of

  noise in terms of any time you step into this lane, you know,

  it's going to be received, you know, in a lot of different ways

  and not for me. It's all about creating

  conversations that are about being decent human beings first
• 26:33
  and foremost. I think we've lost that a little

  bit to where obviously endorsing common is important for me, for
• 26:38
  my family. Why?

  What are the issues you care about most?

  So what? What are the issues you?

  Care, I just know from especially women's rights and
• 26:47
  thinking about, you know, what's at stake with this election and
• 26:51
  understanding like we need to be in a position where women have

  the right to choose what's right for them.

  And that's at the top of the list for me.

  I have amazing women in my life who, you know, have been a huge

  inspiration to me. But knowing Kamala and and

  having been around her, and I understand she's qualified for

  this job. She's, I think representing what

  it means to be a great leader and being a decent human being

  in terms of representing our country the right way.

  So it's an easy choice for me, but OK.

  So there's so much I want to believe.

  I, I, I pray that it's the case that Steph Curry.

  Is in a bubble and just has never heard anyone explain to

  him that women's rights and a women's right.

  To choose is really the the the lethal.

  Violence against the helpless developing human being.

  I hope that that there's a cognitive dissonance so strong

  in his mind just. Because of a lack of.

  Information and ignorance. I mean, he's surrounded by

  maybe. People that are just.

  Passionate Democrats. Who are always so pro?

  Abortion and use all this euphemistic language about how

  great abortion is that he's never connected the dots that

  what is an abortion do. It doesn't just magically make a

  pregnancy disappear. And abortion is the starving to

  death with an abortion pill, or the suctioning to death with the
• 28:08
  first trimester abortion, or the dismembering to death with a
• 28:10
  second trimester abortion of a baby of the image of God.

  That's what an abortion is. It is the antithesis.

  Of love, it is hate. It's the antithesis of hope.

  It's despair. That's what abortion is.
• 28:24
  And so I have. To believe that, Steph.

  Curry maybe just doesn't know. He doesn't know what abortion

  is. He's never.

  Really reckoned with it. He's always in this mindset of

  like, I want women to be free and happy and great and

  empowered. So surely that means choice,

  these empty sounding words that ultimately what do they mean?

  What does it mean choice to choose what Steph It means to

  choose the killing of A? Baby, that's what they're.

  Talking about, that's what Kamala supports.

  I wish people can just wake up to see the truth of this matter.

  People are so blind today. Blind to the point that he's

  even saying that, you know, women in my life have been an

  inspiration and we need to have decent human beings.

  I mean, he's talking about like, you know, we need decent, we

  need decent leaders. And so you know, the reporter's

  saying to. Head to Steph Curry, OK?

  What are the issues you care about?

  What are the policies? That you like that Kamala does.

  Like what do you like about her? And he's saying I like a woman's

  right. To choose, that's what she's.

  Defending So I think you know that the lesson here for those

  listening right now, because a lot of you guys listening, you

  know, you're pro-life, you're passionate about this or maybe

  you're on your journey of discovering more about abortion

  and all of these things. The lesson is that we have to

  speak out, we have to educate people.

  We have to challenge. The the, the the.

  Fake news. The narrative that abortion is

  empowering and good for women and a woman's right and choice.

  It's a complete falsehood. Abortion is the intentional

  taking of an innocent human life.

  And let me tell you, we cannot have decent human beings.

  We cannot have unity. Or.

  Hope some of these. Words that Steph.

  Curry is throwing around. If we allow the.

  The murder of 3000 babies a day in this country, it's just not

  going to happen. And so, you know, hearing this,

  it was so painful and disappointing to hear this from
• 30:13
  an incredibly wealthy, powerful, talented man who I think is
• 30:16
  admired. By a lot of people.

  Throwing his support behind a candidate, that is.

  Incredibly pro. Abortion and doing it because of
• 30:27
  the abortion issue because he apparently is pro abortion now
• 30:31
  again, I, I, I pray and I hope that he is just misled on this

  and. Severely deceived.

  And he just doesn't understand. But how do we get people like
• 30:39
  Steph? Curry to understand, right?
• 30:41
  How do we get people? To know what abortion is, we've
• 30:44
  got to tell them. We got to show abortion
• 30:46
  procedure content. That's why live action does that

  again and again and again. We do hold campaigns to get this
• 30:52
  in front of people, educate people on what happens during
• 30:54
  these abortion. Procedures talk about the.
• 30:56
  Humanity and the sanctity. Of the lives of these babies.

  To talk about the violence and the the evils of abortion and
• 31:02
  its impact, its toxic impact on relationships, on culture, on
• 31:06
  families, That's what we. Got to do, that's what we got to

  do. That is, the only way that we
• 31:12
  are going to change minds is by showing the truth and and by
• 31:17
  advocating for law. That protects life because the
• 31:21
  law is a. Teacher guys, law matters.

  It is a battle. For hearts and minds.

  But we also have to change. Laws to protect these babies.

  You know mother. Teresa specifically talked about
• 31:29
  the. Legalization of abortion and how
• 31:31
  bad that is. It's not just oh, get.

  People. Persuade them not to have them.

  Yes, we need to do persuasion, but we need.

  Laws that protect lives. And that's why the end game
• 31:41
  politically of the movement is complete abolition of abortion,
• 31:44
  complete legal protection of unborn babies.

  That's what we have to fight for.

  I think the the other thing that to note here that's really
• 31:52
  important is in the West, in the United States, we certainly have
• 31:57
  people who live at the poverty line.
• 31:59
  That is a real thing, right? And so we have programs and

  systems. To try to help those.

  People and I think that's why the pro-life movement kind of
• 32:06
  the first line of response is pregnancy resource centers are
• 32:09
  the people working in the adoption and foster care space,
• 32:12
  but separate from the material poverty.
• 32:15
  I think the bigger crisis, even bigger than that, that the West
• 32:19
  is struggling. With is the spiritual poverty is
• 32:21
  the fact that people. Don't know and don't.
• 32:25
  Fight for the value. Of another person's life.
• 32:28
  That they are caught up. In their own materialism that
• 32:31
  they're caught up in their own. Whatever pursuits that they
• 32:33
  would. Sacrifice a baby if things.
• 32:35
  Got to be for whatever. Reason difficult for them or it
• 32:40
  was inconvenient or they were struggling that they were be
• 32:43
  willing to make that choice of abortion.
• 32:45
  And so that's why I think, yes, we need to.
• 32:48
  Do all of that work? To care for women and children
• 32:51
  and serve them. But that's why live.

  Action's focus is so much on education and inspiration,
• 32:58
  encouraging people that we need to choose love, we need to

  embrace the child and upholding the.

  Stories of people who do. That showing the powerful.

  Stories of that baby who's. Maybe conceived in rape, right?

  Like Stevenson, he's actually going to be at the Live Action
• 33:12
  Awards gala in a month accepting one of the awards.

  And this is Stevenson Holland is this man who is an.
• 33:19
  Incredibly, beautifully. Soul, beautiful soul.

  He's a pro-life. Activist and.
• 33:23
  Speaker, But he was. Conceived in rape and his mother
• 33:27
  had a disability. He was conceived by a teenage
• 33:30
  mother. Who had a disability?
• 33:32
  In a violent rape, this is the origin of this man's life and
• 33:36
  story. And people try to get his mother
• 33:39
  who had intellectual disabilities to have an abortion
• 33:42
  because the narrative prevailing narrative is you need an
• 33:44
  abortion if you're raped, right? You should have an abortion if
• 33:47
  you're raped. And I think so many, even pro.
• 33:49
  Lifers are afraid to talk about this because it's so.
• 33:52
  Emotionally heightened. It's such a painful, horrible
• 33:55
  situation when you think about a young.
• 33:58
  Child A. Girl A.
• 34:00
  Young woman being raped. It's horrific, right?
• 34:03
  And so I think the opposition, the pro abortion.
• 34:05
  Side uses these heartbreaking stories.
• 34:07
  Of girls suffering the worst and most heinous crimes.
• 34:11
  To say, OK, you need abortion, you need to have an abortion.
• 34:14
  But the reality is. Abortion does not heal the rape.
• 34:17
  It does not take away the memory of the trauma of the rape.
• 34:20
  Abortion just adds an additional injustice on top of that first
• 34:23
  injustice of rape, which is abortion, which is killing a
• 34:26
  baby. The baby's an innocent third
• 34:28
  party, right? The baby didn't commit the.
• 34:30
  Rape the baby is completely. Innocent and the baby has human
• 34:35
  value too. This of course is the.
• 34:37
  Position that you're not allowed to have in politics, right how
• 34:41
  dare you say that a mom who is the victim or the woman who's a
• 34:45
  victim of rape will. Carry the baby.
• 34:47
  To term, How dare. You say that.
• 34:49
  And I would say. She is the.
• 34:51
  Victim. The abuser, the victimizer, the
• 34:55
  man who hurt her. He is the aggressor, the.
• 34:58
  Child is another victim. The child doesn't deserve the
• 35:01
  death penalty for the crimes of the father, right?

  And so Stevenson Holland, his mother, was told to get an
• 35:09
  abortion, this woman with intellectual disabilities, and
• 35:11
  she ran away. She literally ran away because
• 35:14
  she did not want an abortion. She wanted to protect her son.
• 35:17
  She had she had material poverty.
• 35:20
  But she had spiritual wealth. She had profound spiritual
• 35:24
  wealth, this incredibly courageous young woman.
• 35:28
  I think some of our. Greatest teachers will be the
• 35:30
  people. That have maybe material poverty
• 35:33
  and maybe even intellectual poverty.
• 35:35
  You know, she was, she had an intellectual.
• 35:36
  Disability, but she had spiritual wealth.
• 35:40
  She had spiritual richness, she had courage and love.
• 35:44
  And so she said no and she ran away.
• 35:46
  She ended up literally living homeless behind in a in a in
• 35:52
  sort of the outskirts of town behind somebody's house, like in
• 35:54
  the near near trash bin she she took.
• 35:57
  Up a a space to. Live.
• 35:58
  She was homeless. This young woman, this family
• 36:01
  saw this pregnant young girl alone.
• 36:04
  They took her in. They tried to help.
• 36:07
  Help her and when they found out she was pregnant and that she
• 36:10
  was running from people that wanted to.
• 36:12
  Abort her child because of. Course, a woman who's raped, who
• 36:14
  has intellectual disability should have an abortion.
• 36:16
  That's the prevailing narrative, right?
• 36:18
  And this family instead. Said we will adopt.
• 36:21
  The baby and we will basically, you know, love you too, the
• 36:24
  mother and and welcome you into our family.
• 36:26
  And so they adopted little Stevenson, and now Stevenson is
• 36:29
  traveling the world telling a story, and he's receiving a Live
• 36:32
  Action Life Award. It's our version of the Nobel.
• 36:34
  Peace Prize, right he's receiving.
• 36:35
  That in just a. Month in Los Angeles.
• 36:38
  And he'll tell his story at that event.
• 36:40
  So I share this because part of our job.

  At live action and as pro-life. Activists, part of our job is to
• 36:48
  address the spiritual. Poverty, right?

  And to inspire. People to see the.
• 36:52
  Richness and the. Beauty of every life.

  And to ultimately encourage. People to choose.

  Love and to reject abortion. That is the heart.

  background. But I remember being there and

  there were hundreds of thousands of people at her canonization in

  Rome in 2016, and people from every.

  Creed, every culture, multiple religious.

  Backgrounds. They were there because.

  They saw the spiritual wealth. Of Mother Teresa.

  They saw the. Spiritual richness of Mother
• 38:23
  Teresa. This is a nun who took a vow of
• 38:24
  poverty, right? She was personally poor.

  But she had the greatest wealth, which is love.
• 38:29
  And people just saw that and we're attracted to it like a
• 38:32
  magnet. So regardless of our.

  Circumstances we can always choose love and we can always
• 38:36
  choose to be that loving example of Jesus Christ wherever we go.

  And that at the end of the day is the ultimate message of the
• 38:44
  pro-life movement is love and and the the beauty and the
• 38:47
  goodness of human life. And that's what we are
• 38:49
  ambassadors for, all right. Let's pull up our.

  Be a St. and the only way that you're going to be a St.

  be Saints is by asking Jesus for his love in our hearts, because

  he's the one who's going to give us that.

  Supernatural virtue. Love, meaning we can't.
