Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / PANIC Continues: Democrats are Freaking, Pressuring Biden to Drop Out
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is a verdict with center, Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson
- 0:04Speaker 2: with you, and I hope you had a fabulous fourth
- 0:06Speaker 2: of July. And it was a interesting fourth of July
- 0:09Speaker 2: at the White House. Now the White House saying that
- 0:12Speaker 2: the President did see a doctor days after the debate,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and they're also saying we ain't dropping out at least
- 0:20Speaker 2: as of now.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Well, let me first of all say, for the fourth
- 0:23Speaker 3: of July, Happy birthday America. What an incredible country we
- 0:28Speaker 3: live in. What an extraordinary nation. I think, the most
- 0:31Speaker 3: consequential nation in the history of the world. I think
- 0:34Speaker 3: we were built with God's blessing, with divine providence. I
- 0:38Speaker 3: think America has been a force for good, for freedom,
- 0:41Speaker 3: for liberation, for peace, the greatest force for liberation, peace
- 0:47Speaker 3: and justice on the face of the earth. And so
- 0:50Speaker 3: July fourth is a great time to celebrate our nation,
- 0:53Speaker 3: to hug your children, to eat hot dogs and hamburgers
- 0:59Speaker 3: and backyard barberue, thank you, and play with your kids
- 1:02Speaker 3: and lovely. So that's number one. I hope your fourth
- 1:05Speaker 3: was fantastic. But number two, politics continues to roll on,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and in particular we're in day eight now of debate
- 1:15Speaker 3: mcgeddon the aftermath of the most consequential presidential debate in
- 1:20Speaker 3: American history eight days ago, the night of the debate,
- 1:24Speaker 3: Ben and I did a special podcast that evening. That evening,
- 1:28Speaker 3: we discussed how the disastrous performance from Joe Biden demonstrated
- 1:33Speaker 3: to the world this man is not fit to be
- 1:35Speaker 3: commander in chief. For many people, that raised the question
- 1:38Speaker 3: whether he was fit to tie his own shoes or
- 1:41Speaker 3: to drive an automobile. My prediction then, and that's what
- 1:45Speaker 3: I said the night of the debate, I think the
- 1:48Speaker 3: odds have risen to eighty percent that the Democrats will
- 1:53Speaker 3: pull Joe Biden off the ticket, They will abandon him
- 1:57Speaker 3: as their candidate, and they will place him with Michelle Obama.
- 2:03Speaker 3: This is something that I had predicted nine months ago.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Nine months ago, I said it was a possibility, it
- 2:08Speaker 3: was a real possibility. I now think the odds are
- 2:11Speaker 3: greater than eighty percent. And I also made another prediction
- 2:13Speaker 3: on Thursday night. I said I thought it was likely
- 2:16Speaker 3: to happen within the next twenty one days. We are
- 2:20Speaker 3: on day eight today. That means we have thirteen more
- 2:23Speaker 3: days within the window of when they are likely to
- 2:26Speaker 3: do it. And I think We're seeing every day growing
- 2:29Speaker 3: momentum as more and more Democrats are jumping ship and
- 2:33Speaker 3: saying we got to do something different.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and the excuses are getting truly incredible. We're going
- 2:37Speaker 2: to play one of them in just a moment that
- 2:40Speaker 2: deals with jet lag as the new excuse about why
- 2:43Speaker 2: he had a bad debate night. Before I tell you
- 2:46Speaker 2: about that, I want to remind you about what's going
- 2:49Speaker 2: on in Israel. The people in Israel right now still
- 2:52Speaker 2: very much desperately need your help. They are absolutely under attack,
- 2:58Speaker 2: this time with a massive rocket attack came in from Hesbla.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Since October the seventh, attacks on Israel have increased with
- 3:05Speaker 2: a Ran and its proxies launching attack after attack, hundreds
- 3:09Speaker 2: and hundreds of drones and missiles. Israel and the Israeli
- 3:13Speaker 2: people are living with the harsh reality of terror every day,
- 3:17Speaker 2: and the need right now is bomb shelters. The International
- 3:20Speaker 2: Fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the ground right
- 3:23Speaker 2: now addressing all the urgent needs. And that's why I
- 3:27Speaker 2: want you to partner with IFCJ today. While praying for
- 3:31Speaker 2: the best, IFCJ is also preparing for the worst by
- 3:34Speaker 2: packing emergency bomb shelter kits that can be delivered immediately
- 3:38Speaker 2: to those in desperate need, and your life saving donation
- 3:41Speaker 2: today will help assemble and place these kits with enough
- 3:43Speaker 2: food and life saving emergency supplies for twenty people huddled
- 3:48Speaker 2: in a bomb shelter. The cost to put together and
- 3:51Speaker 2: distribute these kits is just two hundred and ninety dollars,
- 3:54Speaker 2: and your gift will help save lives. And thanks to
- 3:58Speaker 2: a matching challenge from a generous IFC supporter, your gift
- 4:02Speaker 2: will be doubled in impact to help provide twice the support. Now,
- 4:06Speaker 2: all you have to do is call them triple eight
- 4:09Speaker 2: for eight eight IFCJ. That's eight eight eight for eight
- 4:15Speaker 2: eight IFCJ eight A eight for eight eight IFCJ. You
- 4:20Speaker 2: can also go online to support IFCJ dot org to
- 4:24Speaker 2: give that's one word, support IFCJ dot org to stand
- 4:30Speaker 2: with the people in Israel. I mentioned a moment ago
- 4:33Speaker 2: that this White House is floundering on a level I
- 4:37Speaker 2: didn't even know was imaginable in their response to this debate.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And every time you think they can't get any worse,
- 4:43Speaker 2: they then do something that is even more incompetent in
- 4:46Speaker 2: the response.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I want to play for you Center. This.
- 4:49Speaker 2: This is the White House Press secretary floating the idea
- 4:53Speaker 2: that the reason why Joe Biden had a bad night
- 4:55Speaker 2: the other night is that he was suffering from jet
- 4:58Speaker 2: lag almost two two weeks, fourteen days after traveling. Here
- 5:04Speaker 2: is the White House Press secretary trying to sell this
- 5:06Speaker 2: to the American people.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Okay, thank you. There's no question that international travel can
- 5:12Speaker 4: be rigorous. I think the confusion is that he's still
- 5:15Speaker 4: suffering from the effects of that nearly two weeks later.
- 5:18Speaker 4: So he articulated a little bit about like, do you
- 5:22Speaker 4: guys usually have accommodations for him after he does a trip,
- 5:25Speaker 4: that he's going to have jetlag for that long a
- 5:28Speaker 4: period of time.
- 5:29Speaker 5: So can you can you when you say two weeks later,
- 5:31Speaker 5: what do you mean the debate?
- 5:32Speaker 4: He arrives back in the United States twelve or thirteen
- 5:35Speaker 4: days before the debate, So his explanation for a for
- 5:38Speaker 4: debate performance is jetlag.
- 5:40Speaker 5: So what I want to say is it's the jet
- 5:43Speaker 5: lag and also the cold, Right. It is the two things,
- 5:47Speaker 5: and that occurred, and you all heard it in his
- 5:52Speaker 5: voice when he did the debate, right, And it is
- 5:54Speaker 5: not even something that we shared ahead of time. You
- 5:57Speaker 5: heard it in his voice and we confirmed it, and
- 5:59Speaker 5: I think that's important to note as well, like it
- 6:02Speaker 5: is the jet lag and the cold. But I want
- 6:04Speaker 5: to be really I want to be really clear here.
- 6:06Speaker 5: This is not an excuse, right, This is not an excuse.
- 6:09Speaker 5: You all asked for an explanation, and we get we're
- 6:11Speaker 5: giving it an explanation. It is not an excuse. I
- 6:14Speaker 5: don't want that to be the leading piece of this
- 6:18Speaker 5: ask for the only reason we're sharing this because it
- 6:20Speaker 5: was asked of me here and the President certainly wanted
- 6:22Speaker 5: to give an explanation himself, and that's what he did yesterday.
- 6:26Speaker 5: We want to We understand that it wasn't his best night.
- 6:31Speaker 5: It wasn't a great debate. We understand that, and we
- 6:34Speaker 5: understand what supporters saw, what the American people saw, and
- 6:38Speaker 5: what you all saw, and so we wanted to give
- 6:40Speaker 5: an explanation. So I don't want to get into this
- 6:43Speaker 5: or are you giving this excuse? Not an excuse, We're
- 6:46Speaker 5: giving you what our explanation was. We want to continue
- 6:50Speaker 5: to make sure that we do everything that we can
- 6:54Speaker 5: to deliver for the American people. That's what we're going
- 6:56Speaker 5: to continue to want it.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I mean Senator, you hear this, we're just you ask.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So we're just telling you fourteen days after international travel,
- 7:04Speaker 2: the president was suffering from jetwag.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So there's the story.
- 7:09Speaker 6: You know.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I got to say every time I hear kareein John Pierre,
- 7:12Speaker 3: I think she is the opposite of William Jefferson Clinton.
- 7:16Speaker 3: William Jefferson Clinton, you'll recall, was referred to as an
- 7:20Speaker 3: unusually good liar that he could lie and it was believable,
- 7:24Speaker 3: and he'd bite his lip and he'd you know, pointed,
- 7:28Speaker 3: pushes thumb together, and you just you believed he felt
- 7:31Speaker 3: your pain. He could lie better than anyone. I think
- 7:35Speaker 3: Kareem John Pierre is an unusually bad liar. Like when
- 7:40Speaker 3: she does it, it's laughably false. One of the things
- 7:44Speaker 3: if you're going to be in a job as a
- 7:46Speaker 3: media hack and trying to spend people, typically you learn
- 7:50Speaker 3: not to tell just brazen lies that are absurd. When
- 7:54Speaker 3: Kareean John Pierre stood in the White House Press briefing
- 7:57Speaker 3: room and said, you know, people are not just coming
- 7:59Speaker 3: across the border. It's not happening. They're not walking across
- 8:02Speaker 3: the border, it doesn't happen. That was such a wild
- 8:05Speaker 3: lie literally every reporter could pull up on their phone
- 8:08Speaker 3: videos of it happening while she was talking. That's a
- 8:12Speaker 3: bad lie here. This jetlag thing is a really bad lie.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Like anyone who's actually flown internationally. Look, jetlag is a
- 8:20Speaker 3: sith thing. It's a reasonable thing. You feel it a
- 8:23Speaker 3: day maybe two when you fly from one place to
- 8:27Speaker 3: the other. You know, he was in Europe. He was
- 8:29Speaker 3: there for Normandy. I was there for Normandy. I got
- 8:32Speaker 3: to say the idea that I'd be complaining now you
- 8:34Speaker 3: know I've still got jetlag because several weeks ago I
- 8:37Speaker 3: was in Europe. That's just obviously stupid. And they don't
- 8:42Speaker 3: want the explanation to be the explanation that every person
- 8:46Speaker 3: with eyeballs and common sense saw, which is this is
- 8:49Speaker 3: an old man who's suffering from dementia. That's the answer.
- 8:52Speaker 3: And so well, you know he wasn't a plane a
- 8:54Speaker 3: few weeks earlier. Let's call it jetlag. Yeah, yeah, maybe
- 8:58Speaker 3: people out there are dumb enough to believe that.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Well, and they went on TV like a full court
- 9:02Speaker 2: press to try to sell this at the White House.
- 9:05Speaker 2: This was another one of their interviews outside of Jean Pierre,
- 9:08Speaker 2: where they're like all right, guys, everybody got on TV
- 9:10Speaker 2: and sell that the president is jet lagged.
- 9:12Speaker 7: Apparently, the President apologized to everyone in the room saying,
- 9:16Speaker 7: this is not an excuse, but it is an explanation,
- 9:19Speaker 7: and he blamed the extensive foreign travel that he did
- 9:23Speaker 7: in the lead up to the CNN debate for his
- 9:25Speaker 7: poor performance. Just a reminder for everyone. He did go
- 9:28Speaker 7: to France for the D Day anniversary, and then he
- 9:31Speaker 7: turned right back around and went to Italy for the
- 9:33Speaker 7: G seven summit. And he told the room, I didn't
- 9:36Speaker 7: listen to my staff, so the suggestion there being his
- 9:38Speaker 7: staff did not think this was a good idea. And
- 9:41Speaker 7: then he apparently said I almost fell asleep on stage.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I just want to unpack this.
- 9:47Speaker 7: New explanation for a second as the explanation for why
- 9:50Speaker 7: his debate performance was so bad. I find it a
- 9:53Speaker 7: little bit puzzling, and frankly, I'm not sure that a
- 9:56Speaker 7: lot of people are going to find this reassuring. If anything,
- 9:59Speaker 7: some folks might hear this and be even more concerned. Yes,
- 10:03Speaker 7: there were two foreign trips in the lead up to
- 10:06Speaker 7: the June twenty seventh CNN debate, but he returned from
- 10:09Speaker 7: Italy on June fifteenth. The debate again was on June
- 10:12Speaker 7: twenty seven, so we're talking about roughly twelve days in
- 10:15Speaker 7: between when he was back in the States. And remember
- 10:18Speaker 7: a part of those twelve days, about a full week,
- 10:21Speaker 7: he actually spent with his advisors at Camp David for
- 10:24Speaker 7: the sole purpose of really focusing on debate preps. So
- 10:28Speaker 7: why is the president falling asleep on the debate stage
- 10:32Speaker 7: at the hours of nine pm to ten thirty?
- 10:35Speaker 2: I can't believe by the way that CNN saying that
- 10:38Speaker 2: they have all turned on him, like they have just
- 10:40Speaker 2: completely turned on him. With Mjlee, they're saying, I find
- 10:43Speaker 2: it a little bit puzzling that this guy's at Camp
- 10:46Speaker 2: David for a whole week and you've done debate preps.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So let's pull back the curtain on that. When you've
- 10:51Speaker 2: done your most vigorous debate prep, Senator, and I've been
- 10:53Speaker 2: blessed to be in several different debate preps for different
- 10:56Speaker 2: major races, it doesn't last twelve hours a day, are
- 11:00Speaker 2: the ones I've done. Certainly not for seven days straight.
- 11:02Speaker 2: It's usually two or three hours of intense debate prep
- 11:04Speaker 2: and then you take a legit break.
- 11:06Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Look, and I've never done a week of debate prep.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Typically what I do debate prep, it is one to
- 11:11Speaker 3: two days. Is what's involved.
- 11:13Speaker 8: You know.
- 11:13Speaker 3: The irony of the of their jet lag explanation is
- 11:16Speaker 3: the fact that we know he spent a week at
- 11:18Speaker 3: Camp David where the only thing on the plate was
- 11:21Speaker 3: getting ready for debate prep. And I am certain he
- 11:25Speaker 3: slept a lot of hours that week, and listen, he
- 11:28Speaker 3: should one of the things I do for debate prep.
- 11:31Speaker 3: You know, you know there are studies that have been done.
- 11:33Speaker 3: This is something when I was arguing cases at the
- 11:35Speaker 3: Supreme Court, I looked at there were medical studies that
- 11:39Speaker 3: are done that show the more sleep you get, the
- 11:43Speaker 3: faster your brain thinks, the faster your neurons fire. Before
- 11:48Speaker 3: a Supreme Court argument, I used to the night before
- 11:52Speaker 3: try to get nine to ten hours sleep, which is
- 11:54Speaker 3: a lot more sleep. I typically get six to seven
- 11:57Speaker 3: hours sleep a night. Before a Supreme Court argument, I
- 12:00Speaker 3: would try to get nine to ten hours sleep a night,
- 12:03Speaker 3: and I'd do that both the night before the argument,
- 12:06Speaker 3: and I'd do that two nights before the argument.
- 12:09Speaker 8: The reason two nights before the argument.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Years ago in college, I used to teach at Princeton
- 12:15Speaker 3: Review the test prep class that helped students. I taught
- 12:19Speaker 3: the SAT and I taught the l SAT, and when
- 12:22Speaker 3: I was teaching at Princeton Review, we would teach teach
- 12:25Speaker 3: students to do the same thing. Get a ton of
- 12:27Speaker 3: sleep the night before your exam, and get a ton
- 12:30Speaker 3: of sleep two nights before your exam, because there's scientific
- 12:34Speaker 3: studies that show the sleep you get two nights before
- 12:37Speaker 3: an event affects your brain speed. And what I found
- 12:41Speaker 3: in Supreme Court arguments is that if I had two
- 12:44Speaker 3: nights of supercharging sleep, nine to ten hours of sleep,
- 12:47Speaker 3: two nights in a row, that when I'd stand up
- 12:50Speaker 3: there for the argument at the podium, my brain was
- 12:53Speaker 3: a half second faster, a half second quicker to respond
- 12:56Speaker 3: to a question, to think about a line of argument,
- 12:58Speaker 3: to anticipate where the other side was going, to anticipate
- 13:02Speaker 3: where a justice was going. When I prepare for political debates,
- 13:06Speaker 3: I do the same thing. I try to have two
- 13:08Speaker 3: nights of nine to ten hours sleep the two nights before,
- 13:11Speaker 3: and it makes a real difference. Your brain is fast
- 13:14Speaker 3: and quick. Biden had an entire week where he could sleep.
- 13:18Speaker 3: He could have slept twelve hours a day every day
- 13:21Speaker 3: for a week, and so the idea that they're saying, well, yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 3: but two weeks earlier, he was on a plane, so
- 13:25Speaker 3: it's jetlag.
- 13:27Speaker 8: Nobody who's ever flown an airplane believes that.
- 13:31Speaker 2: There's also this big interview that's about to take place,
- 13:34Speaker 2: and it's become actually even bigger since when you and
- 13:37Speaker 2: I mentioned it. There is George Stepanopolis, and I think
- 13:41Speaker 2: we should remind people who he is. He is a
- 13:43Speaker 2: hardcore lefty that acts like he's now some sort of journalist,
- 13:46Speaker 2: even though he was best known for defending Bill Clinton
- 13:49Speaker 2: and giving Bill Clinton some of the best spin lines
- 13:51Speaker 2: in history.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It's the friendliest person I look.
- 13:54Speaker 3: He was basically Kareem John Pierre for Bill Clinton. Yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 3: he was a press staffer, staffer. He was in the
- 14:01Speaker 3: White House. He was on the Clinton White House staff.
- 14:03Speaker 3: I think his title is communications director. So he wasn't
- 14:06Speaker 3: actually the press secretary, but he was the press flack.
- 14:08Speaker 3: He was the person, he was the Jensaki. He was
- 14:11Speaker 3: the one who was in charge of communications for Bill
- 14:14Speaker 3: Clinton for years. He was very close to Bill Clinton.
- 14:17Speaker 3: And then he jumped over, as many dem communication hacks do,
- 14:21Speaker 3: they leave that role and they jump over and they
- 14:24Speaker 3: become like Jensaki, they get their own show. Well, George
- 14:27Speaker 3: Stephanopoulos went from being the official spokesperson for the Democratic
- 14:32Speaker 3: president to being at abs ABC acting as effectively the
- 14:37Speaker 3: official spokesperson for the Democrat president.
- 14:40Speaker 2: And he's the guy that's going to get this interview.
- 14:42Speaker 2: We now have word that they've decided to change this
- 14:47Speaker 2: interview to a quote prime time special on Friday night
- 14:52Speaker 2: to save in essence. I think his presidency and Democrats
- 14:57Speaker 2: aren't even buying that. MSNBC and one of the hardcore
- 15:01Speaker 2: lefties out there, Debbie Dingle, she said this on MSNBC
- 15:06Speaker 2: on July fourth.
- 15:07Speaker 9: They've been after Joe Biden all week. So he's got
- 15:12Speaker 9: one thing to do, which is to get up and
- 15:13Speaker 9: go out to prove to people that he can do
- 15:15Speaker 9: the job.
- 15:16Speaker 5: We'll do the job, and.
- 15:17Speaker 9: Has the stamina. Took too long to make some of
- 15:19Speaker 9: the phone calls he showed up. I think he's in
- 15:21Speaker 9: a bubble wrap. I'm men Seamen's dad, and I think
- 15:25Speaker 9: he's starting to do what he has to do. One
- 15:27Speaker 9: interview tomorrow, he's not going to fix this.
- 15:30Speaker 2: One interview tomorrow is quote not going to fix this.
- 15:34Speaker 2: This is one of the most extreme lefties on MSNBC
- 15:37Speaker 2: saying that.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Well and listen, one of the most revealing things that
- 15:41Speaker 3: ABC interview is taped. It's not live. If they were
- 15:46Speaker 3: real journalists, you know what ABC should do. You know
- 15:48Speaker 3: what George Stephanopolis should insist on doing. The debate was live.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Let's have this interview be live. The American people need
- 15:55Speaker 3: to see how you answer real time, which means we ABC,
- 15:59Speaker 3: We're not going to edit out when you stare blankly
- 16:01Speaker 3: out at the wall and don't know what I say.
- 16:03Speaker 3: We're not going to edit out when you stumble. The
- 16:06Speaker 3: fact that it is taped means that George Stephanopolis can
- 16:09Speaker 3: go in and say, okay, oh, this exchange looked really
- 16:12Speaker 3: bad for Joe Biden.
- 16:13Speaker 8: Let's cut that out. Hmm.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Okay, he's staring off at the ceiling and doesn't know
- 16:17Speaker 3: what's going on. Let's definitely not air that. And let's
- 16:20Speaker 3: find snippets where he seems cogin and let's piece them together. Now,
- 16:25Speaker 3: if George Stephanopolis was wearing his hat as Democrat operative
- 16:31Speaker 3: putting together a TV campaign for Biden, that would be
- 16:34Speaker 3: a reasonable thing to do. But he's at least pretending
- 16:37Speaker 3: to be a journalist, and ABC is pretending to be
- 16:40Speaker 3: an actual news organization, and so anyone who actually cares
- 16:45Speaker 3: about journalism or news should insist the thing be live.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Let the American people see how he acts in real time.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Let's take a step back from this, and I want
- 16:55Speaker 2: to ask you another question. You and I actually haven't
- 16:57Speaker 2: even talked about this yet, so I'm intrigued to know
- 17:01Speaker 2: what you think, and that is, are we going to
- 17:03Speaker 2: look back weeks, months, years from now and are we
- 17:08Speaker 2: gonna look at this moment in history and say, was
- 17:12Speaker 2: this the biggest political cover up in history? That we
- 17:16Speaker 2: had an incapacitated president, that the American people were sheltered from,
- 17:23Speaker 2: that the White House was covering for and lying for,
- 17:26Speaker 2: that the media was covering for and lying for. I
- 17:29Speaker 2: go back to November, Okay, not that long ago. White
- 17:33Speaker 2: House pres Secretory Jean Pierre said this to the American people.
- 17:36Speaker 5: I would put the president's domina, president's wisdom ability to
- 17:41Speaker 5: get this done on behalf of the American people against anyone,
- 17:46Speaker 5: anyone on any day.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Of the week.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I mean that was that was November, Senator, And I
- 17:51Speaker 2: think this is one of the biggest polists.
- 17:53Speaker 1: That she's really witness.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yes, she is a really bad liar, But I mean
- 17:57Speaker 2: this is this is one of the biggest political cover
- 17:59Speaker 2: ups I've ever witnessed.
- 18:02Speaker 8: Yes and no.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Of course it's a cover up. Of course everyone is
- 18:06Speaker 3: complicit in. And of course the Democrats all know and
- 18:09Speaker 3: they're lying. Of course the media all know and they're lying.
- 18:12Speaker 3: But at the same time, it's not a cover up.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Anyone whose head is not plunged into the sand. You
- 18:19Speaker 3: knew before the debate last week that Joe Biden was
- 18:21Speaker 3: mentally incapacitated. You knew that it was obvious. Anyone who's
- 18:26Speaker 3: ever had an elderly relative, a loved one, dealing with dementia,
- 18:31Speaker 3: dealing with Alzheimer's, You've seen that distant look, that shuffle,
- 18:35Speaker 3: that look of confusion. We see that every week. It's obvious. Look,
- 18:39Speaker 3: we've never seen a president do what Joe Biden does,
- 18:41Speaker 3: which is not talked to anyone in the Senate. In
- 18:45Speaker 3: three and a half years, I've had no conversations with
- 18:47Speaker 3: Joe Biden. He has had no conversations with virtually any
- 18:51Speaker 3: Republican senator. We sit around at lunch and talk about
- 18:54Speaker 3: how weird that is because a major part of the
- 18:58Speaker 3: job being in the Senate is dealing with the President,
- 19:00Speaker 3: working with the president. You know, just over a month ago,
- 19:06Speaker 3: I passed the FA Reauthorization Bill. That is a huge bill,
- 19:10Speaker 3: one hundred and ten billion dollars investment in infrastructure, in
- 19:15Speaker 3: safety for aviation, Enhancing safety for the flying public, Hiring
- 19:20Speaker 3: new air traffic controllers to keep people safe when they fly,
- 19:24Speaker 3: Investing billions in airports, putting collision detection technology on runways
- 19:29Speaker 3: to keep people safe, also expanding competition. Just Texas alone,
- 19:34Speaker 3: hundreds of thousands of jobs depend upon aviation. We have
- 19:39Speaker 3: major airlines based in Texas. Millions of jobs depend indirectly
- 19:44Speaker 3: on aviation. It was a huge bipartisan victory. I was
- 19:48Speaker 3: the lead author along with Maria Cantwell. We passed it,
- 19:51Speaker 3: We passed it on the floor of the Senate eighty
- 19:53Speaker 3: eight to ford. Includes within it, finally, finally, finally, a
- 19:57Speaker 3: direct flight from San Antonio to Reagan Washington National Airport,
- 20:02Speaker 3: something San Antonio that entire community has been fighting for
- 20:06Speaker 3: for twenty years. That was a victory I wrote into law,
- 20:09Speaker 3: and we want it now. You know what would normally
- 20:12Speaker 3: happen when you pass major bipartisan legislation.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I'm assuming you'd say the President might get in contact with.
- 20:19Speaker 3: You, you'd have a signing ceremony. In a typical, normal
- 20:23Speaker 3: functioning administration when there's big bipartisan legislation, the next step
- 20:29Speaker 3: is the White House contacts you and says we're gonna
- 20:31Speaker 3: have a signing ceremony. The signing ceremony, you go. Both
- 20:35Speaker 3: the Democrats and Republicans who are the authors of the
- 20:37Speaker 3: bill go and the President signs the bill into law
- 20:40Speaker 3: in the Oval office, and there are people there'd be
- 20:43Speaker 3: in this instance, you would have people from the airlines there.
- 20:46Speaker 3: You'd have people from airports there, You'd have the pilots
- 20:49Speaker 3: unions there, you'd have the flight attendance unions there, You'd
- 20:51Speaker 3: have everyone impacted by the bill there in the Oval office.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I've been to a lot of signing ceremonies. It's pretty typical.
- 20:58Speaker 3: You know what the Biden White House said.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Well, I wouldn't even be surprised. They didn't even know
- 21:03Speaker 1: you guys were doing it.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Oh no, no, they knew. They knew, and Biden signed the
- 21:07Speaker 3: bill when it came over. He signed it into law.
- 21:10Speaker 3: But there was no ceremony. And the reason there's no
- 21:13Speaker 3: ceremony They cannot have him interact with other people because
- 21:17Speaker 3: it is blazingly obvious this man is incapacitated. That has
- 21:22Speaker 3: been the way the administration is operated from day one.
- 21:25Speaker 3: They don't do signing ceremonies like other administrations. They hide him,
- 21:30Speaker 3: and so, yes, it's a cover up, but at another level, no,
- 21:34Speaker 3: it's not really a cover up because everybody knows the
- 21:38Speaker 3: thing that is studing Ben.
- 21:40Speaker 8: On the Democrat side of the aisle, nobody cares.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I have yet to speak to a single Democrat senator
- 21:47Speaker 3: or a single Democrat House member who's expressed genuine concern
- 21:52Speaker 3: that the commander in chief does not know what type
- 21:55Speaker 3: of day it is, that the commander in chief can't
- 21:59Speaker 3: find his way out of a locked box. I haven't
- 22:02Speaker 3: heard any concern from a single Democrat that America is
- 22:07Speaker 3: much less safe because our commander in chief is mister Magoo.
- 22:12Speaker 8: He is a confused.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Individual with serious disabilities who is not able to handle
- 22:21Speaker 3: a difficult situation. Look when you see the g eight
- 22:24Speaker 3: leaders gathered together and Joe Biden starts wandering off and
- 22:29Speaker 3: the Italian Prime Minister has to go and grab his
- 22:31Speaker 3: hand and lead him back. That's not good. It's not
- 22:36Speaker 3: good for the American president to be treated as the
- 22:40Speaker 3: elderly uncle everyone needs to take care of and cut
- 22:43Speaker 3: his food for and make sure they're no big pieces
- 22:45Speaker 3: so that he can, you know, we can steer the
- 22:48Speaker 3: airplane into the mouth. That is horrible for America and frustratingly,
- 22:53Speaker 3: ben no Democrat cares. The only reason anyone's discussing this
- 22:57Speaker 3: now is suddenly on the debate. The American people saw it,
- 23:01Speaker 3: and the Democrats are afraid they might lose. If they
- 23:04Speaker 3: didn't think they were going to lose, every Democrat would
- 23:06Speaker 3: say stick with them forever.
- 23:07Speaker 8: We're great. Doesn't matter if the president is competent or not.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and there seems to be a real divide now
- 23:14Speaker 2: is now Democrats are coming out elected officials publicly saying
- 23:17Speaker 2: it's time for him to step down and not or
- 23:20Speaker 2: at least not run for reelection. Other Democrats that are
- 23:23Speaker 2: close to him trying to save him. I'm going to
- 23:24Speaker 2: play one of those in a moment. But let me
- 23:26Speaker 2: tell you about Patriot Mobile. If you have a cell phone,
- 23:29Speaker 2: and probably nine nine percent of you do, you may
- 23:32Speaker 2: not know that when you pay your monthly bill every month,
- 23:34Speaker 2: the big mobile that you were giving big donations by
- 23:37Speaker 2: default to democratic causes, candidates, and organizations, including organizations like
- 23:44Speaker 2: Planned Parenthood. That is why Patriot Mobile was started about
- 23:48Speaker 2: ten well over ten years ago, more than a decade ago.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Patriot Mobile is America's only Christian conservative wireless provider. And
- 23:56Speaker 2: when I say only, I mean it now. Patriot Mobile
- 23:59Speaker 2: is incredible because they actually take about five percent of
- 24:02Speaker 2: your bill every month, that no extra cost to you,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and they give it back to conservative causes and organizations. Yes,
- 24:10Speaker 2: that support your First and your Second Amendment rights, support
- 24:14Speaker 2: the free speech, support this sanctity of life. And that
- 24:18Speaker 2: is why I love Patriot Mobile. Now I switch to
- 24:20Speaker 2: Patriot Mobile. And look, there's a lot of people that say,
- 24:22Speaker 2: I don't know about switching. I need my great coverage
- 24:25Speaker 2: I have. Now, look in twenty twenty four, you're using
- 24:29Speaker 2: the same exact cell towers.
- 24:31Speaker 1: When you switch to Patriot Mobile, you're.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Gonna get the same coverage that you're used to, and
- 24:36Speaker 2: when you pay your bill every month, you know you're
- 24:37Speaker 2: sending up for the values that you believe in. Switching
- 24:40Speaker 2: has also never been easier. You don't even have to
- 24:43Speaker 2: go to a store. You just have to call them
- 24:45Speaker 2: and they do everything over the phone.
- 24:48Speaker 1: It is easy.
- 24:48Speaker 2: They have one hundred percent US based customer service team
- 24:52Speaker 2: because they believe in actually employing great Americans, and they
- 24:57Speaker 2: make switching that much easier. So keep your same cell
- 25:00Speaker 2: number you have now, keep your phone you've got, or upgrade.
- 25:03Speaker 2: The team will help you find the best plan for
- 25:05Speaker 2: your needs and you make a difference in what you
- 25:07Speaker 2: believe in every time you make a call. Just go
- 25:10Speaker 2: to Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict that's Patriotmobile dot com
- 25:15Speaker 2: slash verdict or nine seven to two Patriot that's nine
- 25:19Speaker 2: seven to two Patriot get free activation when you use
- 25:22Speaker 2: the offer code verdict.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Join me.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Make the switch today and make a difference with every
- 25:27Speaker 2: phone call you make. Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict or
- 25:30Speaker 2: nine seven to two Patriot. One Democrat that went on TV,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I guess he's like the sacrificial lamb is representative Democratic
- 25:39Speaker 2: Representative Dan Goldman. He said this about the President trying
- 25:44Speaker 2: to reassure Americans he's really fine, there's no cognitive decline, and.
- 25:47Speaker 10: The people who are with him every day have indicated
- 25:50Speaker 10: as well that it.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Was an aberration, that it is an anomaly.
- 25:54Speaker 6: And if that is the case, then we will see that,
- 25:58Speaker 6: and we will see that over the next week, and
- 26:00Speaker 6: he will restore our faith and confidence in his fitness,
- 26:04Speaker 6: and then everything else between the two of them.
- 26:07Speaker 8: Cuts in favor of Joe Biden.
- 26:09Speaker 10: So people are right to have some concerns after that performance.
- 26:13Speaker 10: And I don't think there's any excuse that Joe Biden offered.
- 26:16Speaker 10: I think he was trying to explain how he had
- 26:21Speaker 10: such a poor performance. But he's accepted it, he's owned it,
- 26:24Speaker 10: he's acknowledged it as we all have. And what we
- 26:28Speaker 10: need to see from him is that vibrant and whip
- 26:31Speaker 10: smart president that we have had for the last three
- 26:35Speaker 10: and a half years.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And the people, I mean, you listen to him, and
- 26:38Speaker 2: then you go to the facts. Biden's post debate checkup
- 26:42Speaker 2: actually contradicts what the White House said. They have now
- 26:47Speaker 2: confirmed that and President Biden confirmed and again I'm quoting
- 26:52Speaker 2: reports coming out of the White House to the Democratic governors.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Remember they had this nine to one to one, you know,
- 26:56Speaker 2: all hands on deck meeting with Democratic governors to try
- 26:59Speaker 2: to reassure them that he had a medical checkup following
- 27:02Speaker 2: the president of debate. Despite earlier statements from the White
- 27:04Speaker 2: House pres secretary on multiple occasions that he had not
- 27:07Speaker 2: received any medical exam since February. We played some of
- 27:11Speaker 2: that in the last show. The White House later clarified
- 27:14Speaker 2: that Biden was seen by a doctor for a brief
- 27:16Speaker 2: quote brief checkup due to the lingering symptoms from a cold,
- 27:20Speaker 2: which did not include any major tests. So even when
- 27:25Speaker 2: they lie to you, they still can't. They're now lying
- 27:27Speaker 2: to either the governors or the American people, or they're
- 27:30Speaker 2: just lying about all of it.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Your thoughts, Yeah, Look, the cold is nonsense, the jet
- 27:35Speaker 3: lag is nonsense. Everyone knows that the issue is that
- 27:39Speaker 3: he's too old and he's suffering from dementia. That that
- 27:42Speaker 3: is blazingly true. They're trying to distract from this. Look,
- 27:46Speaker 3: I'll give you a sense of how bad it is.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Even the Praetorian Guard, even the most zealous defenders of
- 27:54Speaker 3: Joe Biden, the Democrats, and by that I mean the
- 27:56Speaker 3: New York Times, even there turning on her. On Wednesday
- 28:01Speaker 3: of this week, The New York Times wrote a story,
- 28:03Speaker 3: the headline of which is Biden tells allies he knows
- 28:06Speaker 3: he has only days to salvage candidacy. Here's what The
- 28:11Speaker 3: New York Times wrote, by the way, this is not
- 28:12Speaker 3: an editorial, This is a news story. President Joe Biden
- 28:15Speaker 3: has told key allies that he knows the coming days
- 28:18Speaker 3: are crucial and understands that he may not be able
- 28:20Speaker 3: to salvage his candidacy if he cannot convince voters that
- 28:23Speaker 3: he is up to the job after a disastrous debate
- 28:26Speaker 3: performance last week. According to two allies who have spoken
- 28:29Speaker 3: with him, Biden has emphasized that he is still deeply
- 28:32Speaker 3: committed to fight for his reelection, but understands that his
- 28:35Speaker 3: viability as a candidate is on the line. The President
- 28:40Speaker 3: sought to project confidence Wednesday in a call with campaign staff,
- 28:44Speaker 3: even as White House officials were trying to calm nerves
- 28:47Speaker 3: inside the ranks of the Biden administration. Quote, no one's
- 28:52Speaker 3: pushing me out, Biden said in the call, I'm not leaving.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Vice President Kamala Harris was also on the line. Quote
- 28:58Speaker 3: we will not back down and we will follow our
- 29:00Speaker 3: president's lead. She said, we will fight and we will win.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Rah rah rah. Still, Biden allies said the President had
- 29:08Speaker 3: privately acknowledged that his next few appearances heading into the
- 29:11Speaker 3: July fourth holiday weekend must go well, particularly in an
- 29:16Speaker 3: interview scheduled for Friday with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News
- 29:20Speaker 3: and campaign stops in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Quote, he knows
- 29:24Speaker 3: that if he has two more events like that, we're
- 29:27Speaker 3: in a different place by the end of the weekend,
- 29:28Speaker 3: said one of the allies, referring to Biden's halting and
- 29:31Speaker 3: unfocused performance on the debate. That person who talked to
- 29:35Speaker 3: the President in the past twenty four hours spoke on
- 29:37Speaker 3: the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive situation. The
- 29:42Speaker 3: accounts of his conversations with allies are the first indication
- 29:46Speaker 3: to become public that the president is seriously considering whether
- 29:50Speaker 3: he can recover after a devastating performance on the debate
- 29:55Speaker 3: stage in Atlanta last Thursday. A new poll from The
- 29:58Speaker 3: New York Times in Siena College, the former President Donald
- 30:01Speaker 3: Trump now leads Biden forty nine to forty three percent
- 30:05Speaker 3: among likely voters nationally, a three point swing towards the
- 30:09Speaker 3: Republican from just a week earlier before the debate. This
- 30:14Speaker 3: is they're terrified, and note they're terrified about one thing.
- 30:20Speaker 3: They think Biden's going to lose. If they thought a
- 30:24Speaker 3: mentally incompetent person was going to win, they'd be fine,
- 30:28Speaker 3: but they're terrified that there at least some people who say, gosh,
- 30:32Speaker 3: maybe the commander in chief should should be aware of
- 30:36Speaker 3: what's going on around it.
- 30:39Speaker 1: So let me ask you this.
- 30:41Speaker 2: In the poll numbers that you just mentioned also connect
- 30:44Speaker 2: to some other polls that have come out, and that
- 30:46Speaker 2: is they're pulling every name against Donald Trump. There is
- 30:51Speaker 2: only one name right now that in the polling shows
- 30:55Speaker 2: that it could that they could quote beat Donald Trump.
- 30:59Speaker 2: That is the name that you gave nine months ago
- 31:02Speaker 2: that we've been talking about ever since. In Michelle Obama.
- 31:06Speaker 2: There have been pretty queer messages coming from her camp.
- 31:10Speaker 2: She's not interested. And then the next person that everyone
- 31:13Speaker 2: now seems to be thinking is probably the one that
- 31:16Speaker 2: would replace them is Kamala Harris. And that's just from
- 31:20Speaker 2: the money aspect of things. She's the one that can
- 31:23Speaker 2: use the money they've raised. She's the one that's already
- 31:25Speaker 2: set up to just keep walking forward. The same team
- 31:28Speaker 2: would be there, the same campaign manager, all the staff
- 31:32Speaker 2: is around there, so she would be the quote easiest choice.
- 31:36Speaker 2: You look at this, it doesn't say she could win,
- 31:39Speaker 2: but is she the front runner or is it Michelle
- 31:42Speaker 2: Obama or who is it in your opinion.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Look, I still think it's Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama is
- 31:48Speaker 3: the only candidate the Democrats could push Kamala aside for.
- 31:53Speaker 3: They know Kamala is a terrible candidate. They're really scared.
- 31:56Speaker 3: They don't want her at the top of the ticket.
- 31:59Speaker 3: But they're bean counters. The way their party is. Whatever
- 32:03Speaker 3: your race, whatever your gender, whoever you are, that is
- 32:05Speaker 3: the dominant feature about you. It matters more than anything else.
- 32:09Speaker 3: The people who talk about putting Gavin Newsom in and
- 32:13Speaker 3: pushing Kamala aside, the Democrat Party would would would spontaneously
- 32:18Speaker 3: explode if they pushed a black woman aside for a
- 32:22Speaker 3: rich white man.
- 32:24Speaker 8: They're not going to do that.
- 32:26Speaker 3: There is the number of people who can push Kamala
- 32:30Speaker 3: aside in the Democrat Party. It is a set of
- 32:32Speaker 3: one and the only one is Michelle Obama. She too
- 32:35Speaker 3: is an African American woman. She could push Kamala aside.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Look the polling we've seen where there's a poll that
- 32:42Speaker 3: came out this week that showed Michelle Obama with a
- 32:45Speaker 3: double digit lead over Donald Trump. She would be a
- 32:49Speaker 3: very very dangerous candidate. If it's not Michelle Obama. If
- 32:54Speaker 3: Michelle says no, she might I hope she says no.
- 32:58Speaker 3: You know, I want to speak directly to Michelle. Well, hey,
- 33:00Speaker 3: you're really rich. You're enjoying the life of a movie star.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Private jets are fun, the Hamptons are fun. You're palide
- 33:06Speaker 3: around with people who are famous, with rock stars. You
- 33:09Speaker 3: don't need to go to work. You don't need to
- 33:11Speaker 3: bother yourself with pushing a Marxist agenda to destroy America.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Leave it to others to destroy America. You and your
- 33:18Speaker 3: family have done enough to damage the world. Enjoy the
- 33:22Speaker 3: life of a gazillionaire. I don't know that my pitch
- 33:24Speaker 3: is persuasive, but I hope it is because it would
- 33:27Speaker 3: be very good if she decides not to run. If
- 33:30Speaker 3: she does decide not to run, then I think the
- 33:33Speaker 3: person that replaces Biden probably is Kamala because I don't
- 33:36Speaker 3: think anyone else can. I think Kamala is a really
- 33:41Speaker 3: weak candidate. She is a very unpopular vice president. There's
- 33:46Speaker 3: a reason when she ran for president in twenty twenty
- 33:49Speaker 3: she got zero delegates. She couldn't even make it to
- 33:52Speaker 3: Iowa and get any support. But if she becomes the nominee,
- 33:59Speaker 3: they probably plugs someone in there as a VP to
- 34:03Speaker 3: try to balance it. It wouldn't surprise me to see
- 34:05Speaker 3: I could see Gavin Newsom as a VP to either
- 34:09Speaker 3: Kamala Harris or to Michelle Obama. I think Gavin Newsom
- 34:12Speaker 3: is very much on the VP train, you know. I
- 34:15Speaker 3: could see a Gretchen Witmer, the governor of Michigan, as
- 34:19Speaker 3: a VP to either one of them as well. Both
- 34:21Speaker 3: of those I think are real possibilities. But at the
- 34:25Speaker 3: end of the day, I think the only two nominees
- 34:28Speaker 3: who have a credible chance replacing Biden or Michelle Obama
- 34:33Speaker 3: and Kamala Harris. And if I were a Democrat, I'd
- 34:36Speaker 3: be all in on Michelle because the polling shows she
- 34:39Speaker 3: wins and Kamala loses.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Final two questions for you.
- 34:43Speaker 2: One, when do you think the media has to stop
- 34:46Speaker 2: this onslaught of attacks on the president because they're going
- 34:49Speaker 2: full court press is in another week and then they
- 34:51Speaker 2: got to dial it back in case he does continue
- 34:55Speaker 2: to be the nominee, they can't push him out. And
- 34:57Speaker 2: number two, how important is this prime time taped interview
- 35:02Speaker 2: Friday night for Joe Biden's future?
- 35:08Speaker 3: Well, I mean, let me start with number two. The
- 35:11Speaker 3: interview on Friday is very important. If he goes and
- 35:15Speaker 3: just craps the bed, that could be fatal. I think
- 35:20Speaker 3: ABC and Stephanopoulos are going to do everything they can
- 35:24Speaker 3: to prevent that from happening. I think they're going to
- 35:26Speaker 3: edit the heck out of the interview. They should run
- 35:30Speaker 3: it live, and anyone who cares like ABC should be
- 35:33Speaker 3: embarrassed about itself that it's not running it live because
- 35:36Speaker 3: their editing will be designed to create a false impression,
- 35:41Speaker 3: to protect Joe Biden, to turn it into a campaign video.
- 35:45Speaker 3: If they're a real journalistic outlet. You know when I
- 35:47Speaker 3: do interviews, I do them live, and if I say
- 35:50Speaker 3: something dumb, you know what, the camera catches it and
- 35:52Speaker 3: all the world can hear. And it's not ABC's job
- 35:57Speaker 3: to be doing the pr and damage control for the Democrats,
- 36:01Speaker 3: but that's what they're doing. I think the interview matters
- 36:04Speaker 3: a lot. I also think it's interesting you're seeing Democrats
- 36:09Speaker 3: publicly breaking ships. So Lloyd Doggett, very liberal Democrat from Austin, Texas,
- 36:14Speaker 3: became the first Democrat member of Congress to say the
- 36:17Speaker 3: president should step aside. Two others, Jared Golden and Maine
- 36:23Speaker 3: and Marie Glosen camp Perez of Washington, both Democrats, both
- 36:28Speaker 3: said they believe Biden will lose in November. That's significant
- 36:33Speaker 3: that you're seeing elected Democrats coming out saying that. Another one,
- 36:40Speaker 3: Seth Moulton, another Democrat from Massachusetts, raised real questions about
- 36:45Speaker 3: whether Biden can win. He said, quote, I deeply respect
- 36:48Speaker 3: President Biden and all the great things he's done for America,
- 36:51Speaker 3: but I have grave concerns about his ability to defeat
- 36:54Speaker 3: Donald Trump. Winning will require prosecuting the case in the media,
- 36:58Speaker 3: in town halls and at campaign stops all over the country.
- 37:01Speaker 3: President Biden needs to demonstrate that he can do that.
- 37:04Speaker 3: The unfortunate reality is that the status quo will likely
- 37:08Speaker 3: deliver us President Trump. We're seeing that happening more and
- 37:13Speaker 3: more and more.
- 37:14Speaker 10: Now.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Your first question was how long will the media continue
- 37:17Speaker 3: to attack? Listen on the debate night, I predicted if
- 37:21Speaker 3: this is going to happen, it's going to shake out
- 37:23Speaker 3: in twenty one days. So we're a week into it.
- 37:26Speaker 3: I think we have two more weeks ahead of us.
- 37:29Speaker 3: We will go into the Republican Convention in two weeks.
- 37:32Speaker 3: I think we'll know what happens by then a final
- 37:36Speaker 3: point in one that has not been discussed a great deal.
- 37:39Speaker 3: I think all of this drama impacts President Trump very significantly,
- 37:43Speaker 3: and in particular, it impacts his vice presidential choice. Trump
- 37:50Speaker 3: is in the middle of presumably picking who he wants
- 37:52Speaker 3: to be VP. Lots of names have been floated, there
- 37:54Speaker 3: are lots of short lists, lots of things discussing. Well, normally,
- 37:58Speaker 3: when you're picking a VP, can you know who your
- 38:01Speaker 3: opponent is? You know what you're fighting against. In this instance,
- 38:06Speaker 3: it's a very difficult situation for Trump because the kind
- 38:11Speaker 3: of VP he might pick if he's running against Joe
- 38:15Speaker 3: Biden and Kamala Harris could be a very different VP
- 38:19Speaker 3: than if he's running against Michelle Obama. I think right
- 38:22Speaker 3: now the Trump team is feeling incredibly confident. I think
- 38:26Speaker 3: they think they're gonna win, They're gonna beat Joe Biden.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I think they're feeling on top of the world. I
- 38:30Speaker 3: can tell you if the news broke tomorrow that Biden
- 38:34Speaker 3: was not the nominee anymore and it was going to
- 38:36Speaker 3: be Michelle Obama, the Trump team, if it were not
- 38:40Speaker 3: at a major emergency mode level of this is serious,
- 38:47Speaker 3: then they'd be misreading the situation because Michelle Obama's the
- 38:50Speaker 3: Democrat nominee is incredibly dangerous and that could easily impact
- 38:55Speaker 3: the vice presidential nominee. So, for example, if it's Michelle Obama,
- 38:59Speaker 3: may Trump picks Tim Scott deciding that he wants to
- 39:03Speaker 3: go fight and fight more aggressively for African American votes.
- 39:06Speaker 3: That's one possible consideration that maybe that's a little bit
- 39:10Speaker 3: less of a consideration if Joe Biden is at the
- 39:12Speaker 3: top of the ticket. So there are complicated, complicated chess
- 39:17Speaker 3: moves that are playing out right now because of the
- 39:21Speaker 3: uncertainty of who's going to be the nominee.
- 39:25Speaker 2: We're gonna keep covering it all. Don't forget. We do
- 39:27Speaker 2: this show Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. We have our weekend
- 39:30Speaker 2: review on Saturday for what you may have missed during
- 39:33Speaker 2: the week.
- 39:33Speaker 1: We're gonna be covering this.
- 39:34Speaker 2: We'll have a lot to say, I'm sure after this
- 39:36Speaker 2: interview on Friday night with the President and George Stepanopolis.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Don't forget.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Share this wherever you are on social media and the
- 39:45Speaker 2: Center and I will see you back here in a
- 39:46Speaker 2: couple of days.
