- 0:01Speaker 1: Tampa dodges the storm surge. That is the good news.
- 0:06Speaker 1: But sixteen inches of rain in Saint Pete, more than
- 0:11Speaker 1: three million without power this morning. That is the latest numbers.
- 0:15Speaker 1: That we have multiple fatalities in Saint Lucie County from tornadoes.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hurricane Milton made its landfall and sees to key eighty
- 0:26Speaker 1: five mile per hour winds. And now the problem is
- 0:30Speaker 1: there are so many people that have flooding, there are
- 0:33Speaker 1: so many people without power, and it's still going to
- 0:40Speaker 1: be a major problem. More than three million without power.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Don't worry. The federal governments on it. Kamala Harris still
- 0:49Speaker 1: doing all of her interviews. She had time while this
- 0:53Speaker 1: hurricane was barreling down on Florida and others are hurting
- 0:57Speaker 1: from the last hurricane that just happened. What was she
- 1:00Speaker 1: doing hanging out with Howard Stern, the disgusting shock jock. Yes,
- 1:07Speaker 1: hanging out with Howard Stern having a conversation, trying to
- 1:11Speaker 1: get voters to vote for her instead of taking care
- 1:14Speaker 1: of people in this country. If you want to know
- 1:17Speaker 1: what you're gonna get when you vote for this is
- 1:19Speaker 1: what you are gonna get if you vote for her.
- 1:22Speaker 1: She's made it very clear. This is it Hurricane Milton
- 1:26Speaker 1: not her top priority, the American people not her top priority.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Why because Florida is a state she believes is going
- 1:32Speaker 1: to vote for Donald Trump. It's a conservative state with DeSantis,
- 1:36Speaker 1: so her opinion is not my problem. Let me get
- 1:40Speaker 1: you more of the latest that we understand as the
- 1:42Speaker 1: Hurricane Center has revealed new information this morning Hurricane Milton
- 1:48Speaker 1: making land fall near the city of cs t Key
- 1:50Speaker 1: in Florida, with wins up to one twenty at the time.
- 1:54Speaker 1: In a post on x the National Hurricane Center revealed
- 1:57Speaker 1: that around eight thirty PM, the d data showed that
- 2:01Speaker 1: the eye of the hurricane had made landfall near csta
- 2:04Speaker 1: Key in Sarasota County. I actually lived down in Sarasota,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Branden and Florida. This area is so nice and it
- 2:11Speaker 1: is going to have lots to rebuild. Maxustaine. Wins that
- 2:16Speaker 1: landfall are estimated one hundred and twenty miles an hour,
- 2:19Speaker 1: The National Hurricane Center said again this morning, the Doppler
- 2:24Speaker 1: radar indicated that the eye of the Hurricane Milton made
- 2:27Speaker 1: this landfall officially, and then the question was how bad
- 2:31Speaker 1: is it going to be with a storm searche. Video
- 2:34Speaker 1: footage also that has been put out showed that there
- 2:37Speaker 1: were some good things that happened. When I say good
- 2:40Speaker 1: compared to bad. That was a storm surge. We were
- 2:43Speaker 1: worried of ten to fifteen feet in some areas. That
- 2:46Speaker 1: did not materialize because the way that the hurricane was
- 2:49Speaker 1: circling it was actually in some parts taking the water
- 2:52Speaker 1: out to sea down five and six feets in some
- 2:55Speaker 1: area that thought they could get up to ten feet
- 2:58Speaker 1: of a storm surge. The water was actually sucked out
- 3:02Speaker 1: of Tampa Bay by Milton. It happened very very fast.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Videos being posted of shock as the water was taken
- 3:12Speaker 1: out of Tampa Bay and that was a blessing as
- 3:16Speaker 1: the water was taken out very quick. Hurricane Milton making
- 3:20Speaker 1: this landfall by Sarasota, Florida. It is an extremely life
- 3:24Speaker 1: threatening Category three when it hit. There are people that
- 3:28Speaker 1: have died. We know that people have died from the tornadoes,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and that is part of the hurricane. In the aftermath
- 3:35Speaker 1: and the sad part of all of this, I'll go
- 3:38Speaker 1: to that part now. This coming from ABC twenty five.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Wp BF officials say that there are now at least
- 3:46Speaker 1: four dead in Saint Lucie County from these tornadoes. The
- 3:49Speaker 1: Saint Lucy County officials confirmed the news that four people
- 3:54Speaker 1: died in the area. The fatalities reported in the Spanish
- 3:57Speaker 1: Lakes Country Club within the Spanish La community in northern
- 4:01Speaker 1: Port Fort Pierce. Officials said that multiple tornadoes touched down
- 4:06Speaker 1: in the Spanish Lakes community and that search and rescue
- 4:09Speaker 1: crews are on the way. Deputies and firefighters they are
- 4:13Speaker 1: going through the rubble in that community. Before Hurricane Milton
- 4:17Speaker 1: made landfall, more than one hundred and sixty tornado warnings,
- 4:22Speaker 1: not watches. One hundred and sixty tornado warnings were issued
- 4:26Speaker 1: for South Florida on Wednesday, and more than a dozen
- 4:30Speaker 1: tornadoes touchdown throughout the day. This obviously is part of
- 4:34Speaker 1: what happens when you deal with a hurricane at this level.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those
- 4:42Speaker 1: that are affected. This morning. The governor there has said
- 4:45Speaker 1: that in many ways we dodged a bullet, but there
- 4:48Speaker 1: is still major destruction in the state of Florida. There
- 4:53Speaker 1: are still many people that are reeling from the last
- 4:56Speaker 1: hurricane that came through. It was Mayor Liz Albert on
- 5:01Speaker 1: the Hurricane saying this on NBC this morning, and again,
- 5:05Speaker 1: it could have been worse. It could have been a
- 5:09Speaker 1: lot worse. But don't take that away from the suffering
- 5:12Speaker 1: that's happening down there right now. Listen to what the
- 5:14Speaker 1: mayor said.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Mayor, it's good to have you back with us. We
- 5:17Speaker 2: spoke to you twenty four hours ago. You were prepared
- 5:19Speaker 2: for the worst. What are you seeing this morning?
- 5:22Speaker 3: Well, surprisingly it's you know, at least from what we're
- 5:27Speaker 3: able to get to. It's not as bad on the mainland.
- 5:32Speaker 3: We have not been able to get out to the
- 5:35Speaker 3: Barrier islands. For in Sarasota, the Ledo Key of the
- 5:41Speaker 3: bridge going out to the island there, the small bridge
- 5:44Speaker 3: that we have, the westbound lanes are compromised, so we
- 5:50Speaker 3: are not going to be able to use those. The
- 5:53Speaker 3: Florida Department of Transportation has to get out and check
- 5:57Speaker 3: that out because the of the rising water. Lots and
- 6:01Speaker 3: lots and lots of trees down from what I'm hearing,
- 6:06Speaker 3: so our first and team has been out a lot
- 6:11Speaker 3: of power outages. You can see I've got some lights
- 6:14Speaker 3: are working, some night lights are not. No power in
- 6:18Speaker 3: my building, and about seventy six percent of the city
- 6:24Speaker 3: doesn't doesn't have power, and you know, it didn't seem
- 6:30Speaker 3: I lived just right across the street from Sarasota Bay. It's,
- 6:34Speaker 3: you know, not the Gulf, but the bay, and water
- 6:38Speaker 3: did not come over us forty one where I am.
- 6:44Speaker 3: We didn't get any water in our parking lot. But
- 6:48Speaker 3: you know, out on the Barrier Islands, we fear that
- 6:52Speaker 3: there was an awful lot a lot of wind blowing around,
- 6:57Speaker 3: you know, so it was really a pretty the horrific night.
- 7:01Speaker 3: And I think once we're able to get out there,
- 7:04Speaker 3: you know, we're going to find a whole lot of damage.
- 7:09Speaker 1: A whole lot of damage. That is how the mayor
- 7:11Speaker 1: described it this morning again, lots and lots of damage.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Mitch Landrew saying this this morning as well about water
- 7:20Speaker 1: rescues underway after Milton caused severe flooding in other areas
- 7:24Speaker 1: like Clearwater, Florida.
- 7:26Speaker 2: As a leader at this moment, what does one need
- 7:29Speaker 2: to do.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Well, If there was ever a time for us to
- 7:32Speaker 4: come together as a country, this is it. You have
- 7:34Speaker 4: to be on the same team. The president, the governor,
- 7:36Speaker 4: all the federal officials, the state officials, the mayors in
- 7:39Speaker 4: these areas, the police, chiefs and the sheriffs and the ems.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Everybody's got to stay really focused. The governor will help
- 7:45Speaker 4: lead that effort. As you said, Administrator Criswell will be
- 7:48Speaker 4: standing by his side. They're going to tell everybody what
- 7:51Speaker 4: they see, what they know, how they think they can help.
- 7:53Speaker 4: But the best thing that folks can do, even in
- 7:55Speaker 4: this incredible pain is listen to what it is that
- 7:58Speaker 4: they tell you. Based on they're gonna want to rush
- 8:00Speaker 4: back in. That's always a bad idea. There are three
- 8:03Speaker 4: million people that are out of electricity. The worst of
- 8:05Speaker 4: this storm is not necessarily over from everybody, because as
- 8:08Speaker 4: you said, John, this tournatic activity can really really be dangerous.
- 8:11Speaker 4: So we're not out of it yet, and the damage
- 8:14Speaker 4: is going to be catastrophic for many many families and
- 8:16Speaker 4: business owners and communities.
- 8:19Speaker 1: If there's ever a time for us to come together
- 8:21Speaker 1: as a country, this is it. I couldn't agree more.
- 8:24Speaker 1: The federal government needs to step up and make sure
- 8:28Speaker 1: they're taking care of everyone, not choosing which people to
- 8:32Speaker 1: take care of, not deciding because some area is a
- 8:37Speaker 1: Republican area. With the hurricane we just saw in the flooding,
- 8:41Speaker 1: the aftermat in the Carolinas, and in Tennessee, they we're
- 8:44Speaker 1: not going to pick and choose who we take care
- 8:47Speaker 1: of solely based solely based on who they think they're
- 8:53Speaker 1: going to vote for. Unfortunately, it looks like this administration
- 8:59Speaker 1: is playing politics and that's a big problem. October seventh
- 9:04Speaker 1: was the one year mark of the worst massacre of
- 9:07Speaker 1: the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Twelve hundred Israelis were
- 9:11Speaker 1: murdered and more than two hundred and fifty taken hostage. Yet,
- 9:16Speaker 1: the war in Israel rages on today, with a Ran
- 9:19Speaker 1: firing a massive barrage of nearly two hundred ballistic missiles
- 9:23Speaker 1: earlier this month. Israel and her people are facing attacks
- 9:27Speaker 1: from enemies on all sides. The International Fellowship of Christians
- 9:30Speaker 1: and Jews is on the ground providing food, shelter, and
- 9:34Speaker 1: safety to those in need during this crisis. Since the
- 9:38Speaker 1: war started, thousands of reservists every day Israeli citizens have
- 9:42Speaker 1: left their families to serve their country. Soldiers have been injured,
- 9:46Speaker 1: and their families now need your help. That's why I'm
- 9:49Speaker 1: asking for you to give one hundred and fifty dollars
- 9:52Speaker 1: to help the Fellowship provide food and other emergency necessities
- 9:57Speaker 1: for these families to help them survive. And this is
- 10:00Speaker 1: the other reason why I ask you for one hundred
- 10:02Speaker 1: and fifty dollars, because a generous donor has said that
- 10:06Speaker 1: they will match every gift of one hundred and fifty
- 10:09Speaker 1: or more, doubling your impact. So join me and letting
- 10:14Speaker 1: those families know that listeners like you stand with Israel.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You can call to make your one hundred and fifty
- 10:19Speaker 1: dollars gift right now to eighty eight four eight eight IFCJ.
- 10:24Speaker 1: That's eighty eight four eight eight four three two five.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You can give securely online as well at support IFCJ
- 10:34Speaker 1: dot org. That's one word support if CJ dot org.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Support IFCJ dot org or eight at eight four eight
- 10:44Speaker 1: eight if CJ. Flooding that is the number one issue
- 10:49Speaker 1: right now is what we are hearing. Flooding. That is
- 10:53Speaker 1: the problem that we are having with hurricane at Milton.
- 10:56Speaker 1: We are concerned, obviously they say about the water rescues
- 10:59Speaker 1: that are taking place. There are people right now that
- 11:03Speaker 1: are being rescued. As I am watching the latest reports
- 11:07Speaker 1: come in on our studio TVs here, the storm surge
- 11:10Speaker 1: was absolutely pouring into Venice, Florida as Hurricane Milton was
- 11:13Speaker 1: making the landfall, this was an area that was not
- 11:16Speaker 1: expected to be hit the same way. Florida Governor Ronda
- 11:19Speaker 1: Santus issued a statement in a post on x that
- 11:22Speaker 1: as the hurricane made landfall, it was time to shelter
- 11:26Speaker 1: in place, adding that as soon as weather conditions died down,
- 11:29Speaker 1: search and rescue efforts would begin. He then went on
- 11:33Speaker 1: to say it I'm going to read it to you
- 11:35Speaker 1: in its entirety, the statement by the governor. He said,
- 11:39Speaker 1: as Hurricane Milton makes landfall near Sarasota County, now is
- 11:42Speaker 1: the time to shelter in place. First responders are staged
- 11:46Speaker 1: and are ready to go as soon as the weather
- 11:48Speaker 1: conditions allow. Search and rescue efforts will well be underway
- 11:53Speaker 1: to save lives before dawn, and they will continue for
- 11:56Speaker 1: as long as it takes. There's also the the most
- 12:00Speaker 1: incredible staging alignment that I have ever seen, and they
- 12:04Speaker 1: have ever done in Florida right now. That certainly is
- 12:08Speaker 1: one of the things that's incredibly important right now, something
- 12:12Speaker 1: that's important for the people to get everything back on.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Governor DeSantis giving his final update on TV as the
- 12:22Speaker 1: storm was approaching yesterday afternoon. Here is what he had
- 12:26Speaker 1: to say.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Let's get the latest on Hurricane Milton and where the
- 12:29Speaker 5: state of Florida stands right now from Florida Governor Ron
- 12:32Speaker 5: De Santis, Governor, thank you for the time. I know
- 12:34Speaker 5: you're busy. What's your biggest concern at this hour.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Well, we want people to be safe. We've had a
- 12:41Speaker 2: massive evacuation. Most people heeded those calls. When you start
- 12:45Speaker 2: talking about ten to fifteen feet of storm serves, that's
- 12:47Speaker 2: just mother nature. You're not going to win that. But
- 12:50Speaker 2: we are prepared. We have the largest National Guard mobilization
- 12:53Speaker 2: in the history of the state to respond for search
- 12:56Speaker 2: and rescue. We also have our county and local responders
- 13:01Speaker 2: so that effort will be robust should it be necessary.
- 13:04Speaker 2: We've also staged over fifty thousand utility workers, so they
- 13:08Speaker 2: are in the state of Florida. They've been brought from
- 13:10Speaker 2: all over the country and so as soon as this
- 13:13Speaker 2: storm passes, they are going to be a beginning power restoration.
- 13:16Speaker 2: We did a very quick restoration after Helene two point
- 13:20Speaker 2: four million. We're likely to have more power outages on
- 13:24Speaker 2: this one. Now, this storm is likely going to arrive
- 13:27Speaker 2: quicker than what we were advised. A day ago, probably
- 13:30Speaker 2: between eight and nine o'clock yesterday it was maybe one.
- 13:33Speaker 2: It is going to cut across the state of Florida.
- 13:35Speaker 2: So I would just tell Faridians obviously on that west
- 13:38Speaker 2: coast that's been the focus, but this is going to
- 13:40Speaker 2: have impacts broader than that. We've already seen a rash
- 13:43Speaker 2: of tornadoes that have spun off in various parts of
- 13:46Speaker 2: the state of Florida. And when it exits on the
- 13:48Speaker 2: east coast of Florida, probably in like Brevard County, that's
- 13:51Speaker 2: going to produce some storm surge on the north side
- 13:54Speaker 2: of the storm going the other way. So people just
- 13:56Speaker 2: need to buckle up for the next twenty four hours.
- 13:59Speaker 2: And no, there's a lot of hazards out there.
- 14:01Speaker 5: Yeah, we talked to a bar owner, sent his wife
- 14:03Speaker 5: and kids up north and then he stayed with the dog.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Take a listen.
- 14:10Speaker 6: I have looked at to say, because my priority is
- 14:12Speaker 6: protecting our home. This is my house, this is for
- 14:16Speaker 6: my family. My business is down the road. We want
- 14:19Speaker 6: to make sure that we're here. We also want to
- 14:21Speaker 6: keep our properties safe. Our business is safe. After Helene,
- 14:25Speaker 6: there's a lot of uncertainty and a lot of fear.
- 14:28Speaker 5: So what do you say to him, governor, and at
- 14:30Speaker 5: this point it's too late.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Really, well, right, I think at this point you got
- 14:35Speaker 2: to hunker down. But if there are some people who
- 14:38Speaker 2: did not want to evacuate because they were worried about
- 14:40Speaker 2: the security of their property, we're a law in order state.
- 14:44Speaker 2: We will hold looters accountable. You're not going to want
- 14:47Speaker 2: to mess with this. We've brought in massive numbers of
- 14:50Speaker 2: law enforcement officers from out of state to supplement our
- 14:54Speaker 2: local municipal and county sheriff's departments, and they are going
- 14:58Speaker 2: to be present and people are not going to get
- 15:00Speaker 2: away with messing with anyone's property. I also in my
- 15:02Speaker 2: executive order for this one over the weekend, I said
- 15:07Speaker 2: you have a right to return to your property. We've
- 15:09Speaker 2: had issues with local governments saying, oh, you can't go
- 15:12Speaker 2: back to your house until we say so. No, you
- 15:14Speaker 2: have a right to go back if there's some major hazard,
- 15:17Speaker 2: like a bridge is not safe for something. That's one thing.
- 15:20Speaker 2: But we're going to get people back to their homes.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And so the folks that are concerned about their property
- 15:24Speaker 2: who did evacuate, just know we're going to have law
- 15:27Speaker 2: enforcement there. We are not going to let the inmates
- 15:29Speaker 2: run the asylum on the heels of this storm, and
- 15:32Speaker 2: you will be able to go back to your property
- 15:34Speaker 2: and inspected as soon as possible.
- 15:36Speaker 5: You've been around this block, You've done this before. You
- 15:38Speaker 5: obviously pre positioned a lot of things, as you've just
- 15:41Speaker 5: talked about. You've also talked to President Biden numerous times
- 15:44Speaker 5: and federal officials wondering what you feel about this focus
- 15:48Speaker 5: on misinformation and the comments about it. I know you
- 15:53Speaker 5: heard Jackie Hyndrick's peace about the president saying it was
- 15:55Speaker 5: on patriotic, it's un American, and he said form of
- 16:00Speaker 5: Trump was behind that.
- 16:03Speaker 2: So here's what I'd say. My job is to manage
- 16:06Speaker 2: this process and lead the state through this. I am
- 16:09Speaker 2: using every lever at my disposal, including federal government resources.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I've marshaled all the agencies in the state government, and
- 16:17Speaker 2: we're working like never before to supplement our local communities.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I've got to get the job done, and that's what
- 16:22Speaker 2: I'm focused on now. People have asked me about, you know,
- 16:25Speaker 2: is FEMA going to do this? Just let me be clear.
- 16:28Speaker 2: In Florida, we run the show. FEMA's not running the show.
- 16:32Speaker 2: We will utilize them to support some of the things
- 16:34Speaker 2: we're doing. But you are not going to see FEMA
- 16:37Speaker 2: running them up in Florida. I know that's been out
- 16:39Speaker 2: there on the internet. That is not going to happen.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I'm the sheriff that's in charge here and we will
- 16:44Speaker 2: make sure to protect you. Don't worry about it.
- 16:46Speaker 5: And I heard what you said about Vice President Harris
- 16:48Speaker 5: and the phone call. Did she ever get through.
- 16:52Speaker 2: You know, Brett? Like I said, my job is to
- 16:54Speaker 2: marshal resources and work with everybody to have an effective response.
- 16:59Speaker 2: And she thinks it should be about her. If I
- 17:01Speaker 2: honestly thought that there was something to be gained, I
- 17:04Speaker 2: would pick up the phone and call her. The fact
- 17:06Speaker 2: of the matter is she has no role in this process.
- 17:08Speaker 2: She's not part of the chain of command. I am
- 17:10Speaker 2: working with President Biden and FEMA and our state and
- 17:13Speaker 2: local partners, and we're getting the job done. She has
- 17:17Speaker 2: never been interested in any of the storms we've had
- 17:20Speaker 2: in the state of Florida for entire time as Vice president.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Now she's out there attacking me because I'm not catering
- 17:26Speaker 2: to her whims. All she's trying to do is inject
- 17:29Speaker 2: herself to be a part of her political campaign. I
- 17:31Speaker 2: don't have time for political games. We've got a job
- 17:34Speaker 2: to do. We got people's lives on the line, and
- 17:36Speaker 2: that is our sole focus.
- 17:39Speaker 1: You listen to governor there making it very clear one,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I'm protecting you as a property owner, your rights. The
- 17:45Speaker 1: FEMA is not running the show. We will take all
- 17:48Speaker 1: the help that they have to offer, but they're not
- 17:50Speaker 1: in charge. I'm the sheriff in charge. I've got people
- 17:54Speaker 1: out there ready to come get you. I've got people
- 17:56Speaker 1: out there that are going to get everything back together
- 17:59Speaker 1: as asked as we possibly can when it comes to
- 18:02Speaker 1: putting the power back on. This is incredibly important that
- 18:07Speaker 1: we have a governor who is taking charge like this,
- 18:11Speaker 1: a governor that is saying I'm not playing politics with
- 18:15Speaker 1: Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris is someone who, as he described it,
- 18:18Speaker 1: has never once got involved after any of the issues
- 18:22Speaker 1: we've had, not one single time, not one single time
- 18:27Speaker 1: has she called or asked when we've had other hurricanes.
- 18:30Speaker 1: But now she's running for president and she's like, oh,
- 18:33Speaker 1: I got to interject myself and then play politics and
- 18:36Speaker 1: try to start a war with a governor down there
- 18:38Speaker 1: for not taking my call. He said, I'd call her
- 18:41Speaker 1: if I thought you had anything to offer, that's a
- 18:43Speaker 1: pretty profound statement. I want to take a moment and
- 18:46Speaker 1: talk to you about crime in America and being able
- 18:49Speaker 1: to protect yourself. Increase. Crime and violence around the country
- 18:53Speaker 1: is well off the charts in many cities, and we

- 21:32Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty five active missions in twenty six
- 21:35Speaker 2: different counties. Over sixty five hundred soldiers are deployed throughout
- 21:38Speaker 2: the state. Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has made land
- 21:42Speaker 2: in water rescues in panelas Hillsboro and Pascoe County. The
- 21:45Speaker 2: State Guard has also been engaged in search and rescue,
- 21:48Speaker 2: assisting with floodwater evacuations as well as damage assessments. There
- 21:54Speaker 2: are currently three point one million accounts without power. There
- 22:00Speaker 2: have been six hundred and thirty five thousand restorations since
- 22:05Speaker 2: Hurricane Milton hit Florida. The areas that have the most
- 22:09Speaker 2: significant outages as of this morning are Hillsboro seventy five
- 22:12Speaker 2: percent out, Hardy ninety seven percent out, Manate eighty two
- 22:17Speaker 2: percent out, Penelis sixty eight percent out, and Sarasota seventy
- 22:22Speaker 2: five percent. Out of course, there are fifty thousand plus
- 22:25Speaker 2: linemen that have been pre staged. A lot of what
- 22:28Speaker 2: they'll do this morning is likely assess the damage and
- 22:32Speaker 2: then begin restoration operations very quickly. And we appreciate everybody
- 22:38Speaker 2: that's in that fight because that's very important for a
- 22:40Speaker 2: lot of people. Cutt and toss have begun at first
- 22:44Speaker 2: light by the Florida Department of Transportation. Three hundred and

- 22:53Speaker 2: One hundred and fifty Bridge inspectors were dispatched at first
- 22:56Speaker 2: light and have begun performing inspections to open bridges across
- 23:01Speaker 2: the impact areas. As I put in my executive order,
- 23:04Speaker 2: residents have a right to be back into their homes
- 23:07Speaker 2: as soon as the roadways are deemed safe. In Tampa,
- 23:10Speaker 2: the Gandy Bridge and Howard Franklin Bridge have been inspected,
- 23:13Speaker 2: cleared and are open, and inspections of the Sunshine Skyway
- 23:17Speaker 2: Bridge are underway. There is debris on the Sunshine Skyway
- 23:22Speaker 2: as well as the Courtney Campbell, but once that debris
- 23:26Speaker 2: is clear, we anticipate those bridges opening later this morning.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Other bridges are being opened as soon as the state
- 23:33Speaker 2: inspections are completed. The Tampa Airport is repairing minimal damage
- 23:37Speaker 2: and should be open no later than tomorrow. Seaports are
- 23:41Speaker 2: a waiting Coast Guard channel surveys to reopen Waterside, but
- 23:44Speaker 2: as of now, our initial assessments is they will likely
- 23:47Speaker 2: be able to resume operations very quickly. We still have
- 23:52Speaker 2: a lot of school closures for today. I think Floridians
- 23:55Speaker 2: should just keep in contact with their local officials about
- 23:58Speaker 2: what that's going to be aboul image and a lot
- 24:00Speaker 2: of the schools that were not necessarily in the direct
- 24:03Speaker 2: path of the storm will be open tomorrow. It may
- 24:06Speaker 2: take a few more days for some of the places
- 24:08Speaker 2: that were harder hit. Now, as you survey damage and
- 24:12Speaker 2: clean up, please be cautious of hazards. We have post
- 24:18Speaker 2: storm fatalities almost every storm, and a lot of these
- 24:22Speaker 2: fatalities are avoidable, so please be cautious of down power lines.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Don't touch them, don't remove tree debris that may be
- 24:31Speaker 2: entangled with down power lines. Standing water can conceal down
- 24:36Speaker 2: power lines and other hazards, so please be mindful and
- 24:40Speaker 2: never walk through storm waters. Standing storm waters can also
- 24:44Speaker 2: carry a bacteria that can lead to fatal infections. This
- 24:48Speaker 2: type of infection was responsible for a fatality following Hurricane Helene,
- 24:53Speaker 2: so please avoid wading through standing water. Please use proper
- 24:59Speaker 2: ladder safety. Please use proper generator safety. Do not operate
- 25:04Speaker 2: the generator inside your home. It must be outside a
- 25:08Speaker 2: safe distance from doors and windows. Visit Florida's emergency accommodation

- 25:25Speaker 2: type of shelter. So these models will continue to provide
- 25:28Speaker 2: real time hotel availability and lodging resources, making the experience
- 25:32Speaker 2: easier for users. If traffic lights are out in your area,
- 25:35Speaker 2: please drive with caution and treat each light as you
- 25:39Speaker 2: would a four way stop. And also remember if you're
- 25:42Speaker 2: going to use a chainsaw, be very careful with that.
- 25:44Speaker 2: We have mishaps on that. After every storm, we are

- 27:06Speaker 2: and fifty thousand are available for citrus and cattle operations. Again,
- 27:11Speaker 2: these are short term, zero interest loan.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Let me just say, this is what true leadership sounds like.
- 27:17Speaker 1: This is the reason why so many people move to Florida.
- 27:21Speaker 1: This is why Governor DeSantis, many people thought he would
- 27:25Speaker 1: be a great president. He went up against Trump, wrong
- 27:27Speaker 1: timing right, that was the problem. But as a leader
- 27:31Speaker 1: in general, this is exactly why so many people love
- 27:34Speaker 1: Governor DeSantis. He's talking about the loans that people are
- 27:38Speaker 1: gonna be able to get their hands on. He's talking
- 27:39Speaker 1: about the rescue operations that are already underway. He's talking
- 27:44Speaker 1: about getting those bridges up and anything that's washed out
- 27:46Speaker 1: to get people back to their homes. Talking about your
- 27:48Speaker 1: property rights, your rights as a citizen. FEMA is not
- 27:52Speaker 1: in darge. I mean, these are the things that Governor
- 27:55Speaker 1: DeSantis does. And if you're watching or listening to him
- 27:59Speaker 1: right now now, you're thankful that he's in charge. You
- 28:04Speaker 1: notice that everything that he talked about was about assisting.
- 28:09Speaker 1: It was about helping. It wasn't about dictating, it wasn't
- 28:12Speaker 1: about being a tyrant. It wasn't about stay out, stay away,
- 28:16Speaker 1: don't come back until we tell you can. He's like, no, no,
- 28:19Speaker 1: like it's your property. You can get back there. We
- 28:22Speaker 1: don't have an issue with this. We can like, you
- 28:25Speaker 1: guys can get back there, Like we're totally okay with that.
- 28:30Speaker 1: You guys can come back. We want you, like we
- 28:34Speaker 1: want you to come back to your property. This is
- 28:39Speaker 1: the part that I just think is so great, Like
- 28:44Speaker 1: it's this is the part that I just think is
- 28:48Speaker 1: so important. And I got to tell you, like, there's
- 28:55Speaker 1: who way can look at government. You can look at
- 28:58Speaker 1: government as government is a place to dictate to you,
- 29:02Speaker 1: or you can look at government in a way that
- 29:04Speaker 1: is like, hey, we are going to advocate for you.
- 29:08Speaker 1: There are two different thinkings here. And look at the
- 29:10Speaker 1: way that he's doing this. It's incredible. Like I am,
- 29:14Speaker 1: I am genuinely thrilled to see the response that we're
- 29:17Speaker 1: witnessing right now, Like this is this is the response
- 29:20Speaker 1: that people should be excited about. Pray for the people
- 29:26Speaker 1: in Florida today. Pray for everything that is going on
- 29:31Speaker 1: with them. They're going to need our help and hopefully
- 29:35Speaker 1: they're going to be able to rebuild quickly and get
- 29:37Speaker 1: back into this quickly. And that is I think the
- 29:39Speaker 1: most important part of this
