- 1:01Speaker 1: turn hur you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn't
- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn them out to turn turn the water
- 1:47Speaker 1: the water go. Come come on your fat it, huh,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I show well, Hey, good morning everybody. You're listening to
- 2:05Speaker 1: the voice, Come on dig me now, one and only
- 2:08Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show. I've been saying it
- 2:12Speaker 1: like that since I got it too. All right, I
- 2:16Speaker 1: gotta go one for you today. Yesterday the other day,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I was talking to you about the most effective weapon
- 2:21Speaker 1: available to us as human beings I think is prayer.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I think prayer helps us in so many ways. But
- 2:29Speaker 1: right now what I want to do is I want
- 2:31Speaker 1: to show you how prayer pays off. I want I
- 2:35Speaker 1: want to show you what good it can do for you.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Even me, I use it every day, and and the
- 2:41Speaker 1: days I don't use it, I feel it that that
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know the days that I go, you know, without
- 2:47Speaker 1: talking to him as much I notice it, I feel it.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I feel a certain kind of way. You know, those
- 2:53Speaker 1: are those that doubt starts slipping in again, that uneasy
- 2:56Speaker 1: feeling of uncertainty slips in again, that wondering what I'm
- 3:00Speaker 1: gonna do start slipping in again. Happens to me, It
- 3:03Speaker 1: happens everybody. Man, I think, I really really do you know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: if people would just keep it real with each other,
- 3:09Speaker 1: stop being this Christian, this superman, because you ain't you ain't.
- 3:15Speaker 1: There's a scripture that says that's none perfect, no not one.
- 3:21Speaker 1: That's everybody that covered all of us thought. So sometimes
- 3:26Speaker 1: I think we're a little too hard on each other
- 3:28Speaker 1: with that too. Seeing this is how we're not perfect.
- 3:31Speaker 1: We immediately want to just just oh man, you just
- 3:35Speaker 1: want to kill when we find somebody do something wrong.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But if you go public, everything go public now called
- 3:40Speaker 1: social media. But anyway, I just want to talk to
- 3:43Speaker 1: you about how prayer pays off. It's called all eye
- 3:48Speaker 1: and money. People got money, call it all eyes a
- 3:51Speaker 1: return on investment. People are always looking for a return
- 3:55Speaker 1: on investment. You know, nobody, nobody in business really gives
- 3:58Speaker 1: you money. What out understanding the return on investment? They
- 4:02Speaker 1: don't even give moneys to charities unless they think it
- 4:06Speaker 1: can do something with the bottom line. A lot of
- 4:08Speaker 1: companies work like that, I found out out myself. Sad,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but it is true. So since everything is expected to
- 4:16Speaker 1: work on a return on investment as soon because we're
- 4:19Speaker 1: human beings. So since we're all human beings, whether you're
- 4:21Speaker 1: in business or not, you're still in the business of living.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think when you pray, you should expect a return
- 4:31Speaker 1: on your investment. You talk to him, you spend time
- 4:36Speaker 1: opening it up to him, You bowed your head to him,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you humbled yourself, you got on your knees. I mean,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but really we're talking God here, So really, what you're
- 4:46Speaker 1: doing ain't really about nothing. Be honest with You're a
- 4:49Speaker 1: little bit that you do do on his behalf. It
- 4:53Speaker 1: just pales in comparison with what he does. But let's
- 4:56Speaker 1: just say you want to call yourself investment, Well, let
- 5:00Speaker 1: me show you how it pays off. This because for me,
- 5:03Speaker 1: this is for me. Now, pray pays off in different ways.
- 5:06Speaker 1: That's what I had to learn. See, I was praying,
- 5:09Speaker 1: but I was asking him specifically for what I wanted.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I had the audacity, though, to turn around and tell
- 5:16Speaker 1: him how to do what I wanted. That's amazing, man.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many blessings I blocked coming
- 5:22Speaker 1: my way by putting my faith in what I said
- 5:26Speaker 1: I wanted and how I wanted him to do it.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I want you to give me this. I want that
- 5:32Speaker 1: person to go away. I want this person to accept
- 5:35Speaker 1: everything you say. Then I want to go over here,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I want this deal to happen like this, and
- 5:41Speaker 1: I want that person to just step aside and let
- 5:44Speaker 1: me let me through. And then I wanted I was.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I hadn't mapped out. God must have been chuckling really hard.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He hadn't been gon boy, I made you to be funny.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But boy, you're funny now. So you're gonna tell me
- 5:56Speaker 1: how to do it. And you've all heard this right here.
- 5:58Speaker 1: If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plan. Well,
- 6:01Speaker 1: that's what I did, And that's how we pray. A
- 6:03Speaker 1: lot of times we pray, and we pray in the
- 6:06Speaker 1: prayer with telling him how to work it out. Well,
- 6:11Speaker 1: here's the deal. This is what I've learned. Prayer pays
- 6:14Speaker 1: off in different ways. There's a different return of my
- 6:17Speaker 1: investment when I pray. See Sometimes when I'm praying for something,
- 6:23Speaker 1: a situation to dissolve itself or go away. Sometimes I
- 6:27Speaker 1: get courage out of the prayer. Prayer provides me courage
- 6:32Speaker 1: that's just to go on and look at it. I
- 6:36Speaker 1: guess face it. Then. Sometimes when I'm praying about a situation,
- 6:44Speaker 1: sometimes prayer gives me hanging power. Sometimes, man, it just
- 6:48Speaker 1: I look up and I'm just handling it better. Sometimes
- 6:52Speaker 1: prayer gives you laugh at off power. Sometimes, man, you
- 6:57Speaker 1: just got to laugh at off whatever. Man, you trip it?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Do you know what that is? If you could do that?
- 7:07Speaker 1: You know? Sometimes it it gives you a show of
- 7:11Speaker 1: strength power. Sometimes prayer allows you to have the appearance
- 7:16Speaker 1: that you got it all together. Nobody got to know
- 7:20Speaker 1: the world. When the tornado, the hurricane that's swirling in
- 7:24Speaker 1: your life, you're standing over that like the eye the
- 7:27Speaker 1: hurricane you and it's all swirling around you. But you
- 7:30Speaker 1: standing that like the eye, you just as calm. That's
- 7:33Speaker 1: what prayer does. So when you pray, man, it builds
- 7:37Speaker 1: up a lot of things in you. You know what
- 7:39Speaker 1: it's done for me. Prayer has built up character in me.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It's made me have more character because I'm able to
- 7:46Speaker 1: stand stronger on the things I say because I've been praying,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Because I've been asking God for all of those return
- 7:53Speaker 1: of investments. I've been asking God for courage. I've been
- 7:57Speaker 1: asking God for hanging that power. I've been asking him
- 8:00Speaker 1: to give me the power to walk away. I've asked
- 8:03Speaker 1: him to give me ignored power. I've asking to help
- 8:06Speaker 1: me laugh it off. I've asked him to show me strength.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But you know what I was doing, I was really praying,
- 8:11Speaker 1: not really for them things be real with you. I
- 8:13Speaker 1: was asking them to help me, Lord, help me. You
- 8:16Speaker 1: ever done that? You ever asked God for help? And
- 8:18Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, a list of these things
- 8:20Speaker 1: show up. See, sometimes how you want the problem to
- 8:24Speaker 1: be solved ain't the best way. There's a lesson to
- 8:26Speaker 1: be learned when we make mistakes. And sometimes you got
- 8:29Speaker 1: to stay in that fire and you got to learn
- 8:31Speaker 1: that lesson. But guess what, though, when you come out
- 8:35Speaker 1: of it, you're gonna be better for it. You're gonna
- 8:37Speaker 1: know more about it. Come on, y'all, pray. He's solid,
- 8:41Speaker 1: His word is true, it lasts forever. He do what
- 8:43Speaker 1: he's saying, Gonna do now, all day, all night. Twenty
- 8:48Speaker 1: four seven. He do it all day, all night, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: then some more. His word don't ever change. It's true.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It works for me, It worked for you. It worked
- 8:58Speaker 1: for Jake's It worked for Old Steam, It worked for
- 9:01Speaker 1: Kirk Franklin. It worked for Paula White, It worked for
- 9:05Speaker 1: Billy Graham, It worked for Mother Teresa, It worked for Gandhi,
- 9:10Speaker 1: It worked for the Princess Arabs. It worked, man, it
- 9:15Speaker 1: worked for you. What you're waiting for? Why don't you
- 9:19Speaker 1: put praying your game? Watch what happened to you? You're
- 9:22Speaker 1: sitting in that jail, celle, and you're struggling with it,
- 9:24Speaker 1: and they're telling you bloody and blood out, you can't
- 9:27Speaker 1: get in you. That's foolishness, man, What you mean God
- 9:30Speaker 1: can get you out of anything. Look, man, if you
- 9:33Speaker 1: didn't read your Bible, he didn't got some people out
- 9:35Speaker 1: of some sticky situations. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 9:37Speaker 1: If Daniel was in the lions den and Jonah was
- 9:40Speaker 1: in the belly of the whale, what you're talking about?
- 9:42Speaker 1: Where you are You just sitting in the sale with
- 9:43Speaker 1: some dudes round and you're talking about what they gonna do. Man,
- 9:46Speaker 1: you gotta be real. God it can't nothing to do nothing.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Nobody can't nobody do nothing to you. God won't give
- 9:52Speaker 1: you the strength to handle. Prayer changes things. Man, you're
- 9:56Speaker 1: listening tow Ladies and gentlemen, man, have your undivided attention.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Please are it looks like it's Monday morning. It feels
- 10:10Speaker 1: like it's Monday morning, and I gotta tell you about it.
- 10:13Speaker 1: It's good to be alive to say it's Monday morning,
- 10:18Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. That's how we feel about today.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Today is to day that the Lord has made. Let's
- 10:25Speaker 1: rejoice and be glad in it? Man, what you talking about?
- 10:29Speaker 1: Ain't you glad to be here? Sherley Strawberry, I'm so
- 10:32Speaker 1: happy I could cry. That's not happy. I am, Carlin Farrell. Yes, slod,
- 10:39Speaker 1: I'm happy to be here. Amen. Good morning, Yeah, yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: junior morning. Uh yeah, I'm glad to be here. And
- 10:46Speaker 1: not in a hospital either. Hello, and he's back into building.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Lads and gentlemen, My dog from way back at Anthony
- 10:57Speaker 1: Brown plan to go hospital in front of me. I mean,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I I don't even get that, but I'm glad to
- 11:03Speaker 1: be here. But if I would you say hospital, I mean,
- 11:09Speaker 1: he know I go to the hospital, so shade to
- 11:13Speaker 1: throw shade. I'm a sick man. He stole your thunder.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Can we both be grateful? What up, Steve Harvey? What's
- 11:23Speaker 1: up with your boy Bade and the crew? Why after
- 11:36Speaker 1: we y'all God every Monday we do? Yeah, this is
- 11:46Speaker 1: what happens. That mean we all had a good weekend. Yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 1: but just like Steve started off saying, we heard a
- 11:55Speaker 1: huh yeah, thank the Lord, good Lord. I had amazing weekend.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Spent it and I spent it in the Okavanga Delta
- 12:09Speaker 1: in Botswana. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
- 12:15Speaker 1: A matter of fact, the most amazing thing I've ever
- 12:19Speaker 1: seen in my life in terms of landscape and nature.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I've never seen it before. Amazing place. I'm going to
- 12:28Speaker 1: do something I don't know yet. I gotta figure out
- 12:32Speaker 1: what it is. But I gotta arrange a trip to
- 12:36Speaker 1: take as many people who would like to go. I
- 12:40Speaker 1: got I have to bring as many people as I
- 12:42Speaker 1: can to Africa. You have to see this, You have
- 12:46Speaker 1: to see it. That's gonna be one of my goals.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't know how I'm gonna do it yet. I'm
- 12:50Speaker 1: gonna pray about it. Work something out. But I've got
- 12:53Speaker 1: to arrange to get as many African Americans to come
- 12:58Speaker 1: see Africa as I can. I gotta work something out. Wow, nice,
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring the morning show. I'm gonna do something. Man,
- 13:08Speaker 1: I'm going before my first time you took me. So
- 13:11Speaker 1: I'm ready. I'm ready. Now can we go now? But
- 13:16Speaker 1: oh man, we're gonna lay it out. It's really really
- 13:19Speaker 1: nice man. And so today a broadcast alive from Johannesburg,
- 13:24Speaker 1: South Africa. Now, so over here just making some things
- 13:31Speaker 1: now Smith's to make today? All right? Well, listen, coming
- 13:33Speaker 1: up at thirty two after the hour, we'll do a
- 13:35Speaker 1: little weekend review. Find out how the weekend went for
- 13:39Speaker 1: everyone that's inside of something funny. We'll be back right
- 13:42Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to all right, it is Monday,
- 13:48Speaker 1: All right, Steve, you said you had an amazing weekend.
- 13:51Speaker 1: We want to hear about your weekend in the weekend review.
- 13:54Speaker 1: So come on, Steve. We're starting with you as always,
- 13:58Speaker 1: what happened the weekend if you went to the Okavanga Delta,
- 14:02Speaker 1: which is um a wetland area. Um it's wintertime there
- 14:09Speaker 1: though it's wintertime, and so uh it was it was
- 14:15Speaker 1: a little dry, but it was great because you could
- 14:17Speaker 1: see a lot of game that way. But man o,
- 14:21Speaker 1: man o, man, I gotta tell you something. It was
- 14:25Speaker 1: the most spectacular piece of nature I've ever seen. So
- 14:30Speaker 1: here's a deal. Uh, Marjorie and I were at a resort.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Uh what was her name of this place? Social media,
- 14:40Speaker 1: the Chief Sanctuary. We did not see. This is how
- 14:44Speaker 1: this is how hum unique and how far away it is.
- 14:49Speaker 1: We never saw a single other truck, no gaming truck.
- 14:54Speaker 1: We never saw another vehicle the entire time we were there.
- 15:00Speaker 1: That was only one other couple at the resort. We
- 15:03Speaker 1: were there with a group of people from all Botswana
- 15:08Speaker 1: Tourism board members and stuff like that. Wanted to introduce
- 15:11Speaker 1: me to it. But man, we never saw We saw
- 15:15Speaker 1: all of the big five in one day. We saw
- 15:18Speaker 1: the black rhino with the back with her baby. We
- 15:21Speaker 1: saw a white rhino that's almost impossible to see both
- 15:26Speaker 1: black and white rhino. We saw a leopard, We saw
- 15:31Speaker 1: the kate buffalo, and of course we saw elephants. Botswana
- 15:36Speaker 1: has the largest elephant population in the world. Did they
- 15:40Speaker 1: get along, she did. No. They don't even talking. And
- 15:47Speaker 1: that's the real deal because one of the questions Jake
- 15:51Speaker 1: that I asked him. I said, you black rhinos mate
- 15:54Speaker 1: with white rhinos. The man said, nope, right, didn't do it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But it was just an amazing weekend man. And like
- 16:14Speaker 1: I said, I've got to come up with the way
- 16:16Speaker 1: to get a lot of my listeners over to Africa
- 16:20Speaker 1: so you can experience it. And you've got to go
- 16:22Speaker 1: on the game drive so you can experience it. You've
- 16:26Speaker 1: got to you've got to see nature in its purious
- 16:29Speaker 1: form so you can experience it. It's just something, man,
- 16:33Speaker 1: And from the cultural standpoint for us as African Americans
- 16:41Speaker 1: to come back to the motherland. Look, America's home for us.
- 16:45Speaker 1: You know, we have homes there. You know, we have Look,
- 16:49Speaker 1: we have family there. So you know, I mean, we've
- 16:53Speaker 1: made homes here in America, no doubt about it. But
- 16:57Speaker 1: we should see where we're from. Every African American should
- 17:02Speaker 1: come and see this place. And before you start writing
- 17:06Speaker 1: it off talking about it's too expensive. Now, yeah, it's
- 17:10Speaker 1: gonna cost a little bit more than driving to the
- 17:13Speaker 1: family reunion, it is, but it is well worth your soul.
- 17:19Speaker 1: He knows. Yeah, I'm We're going down to jess Um
- 17:28Speaker 1: for the reunion. And it was seventy five dollars per person.
- 17:34Speaker 1: And you know that ain't what this is, but it
- 17:38Speaker 1: will your soul will feel so good if you do
- 17:43Speaker 1: this for yourself. It's an amazing trip trip. It's a
- 17:48Speaker 1: must trip. Every must trip should go to Africa one
- 17:52Speaker 1: time in their life. I've been, I've never been. Yeah, beautiful,
- 18:03Speaker 1: it's it's it's the most breath taking place because see,
- 18:10Speaker 1: you know, you can go skiing, a lot of places.
- 18:14Speaker 1: You can go to the beach, a lot of places. Yeah,
- 18:18Speaker 1: you can go see caves and caverns, a lot of places.
- 18:23Speaker 1: You can see waterfalls, a lot of places. You can't
- 18:27Speaker 1: see Africa nowhere but Africa. That this collection of wildlife
- 18:36Speaker 1: resides on no other part of the world. It is
- 18:41Speaker 1: unique to itself. It is the motherland it is. It's
- 18:47Speaker 1: unbelievably breathtaking. I mean you stopping, you go, wow, Okay, God,
- 18:54Speaker 1: what would you trip it? Yeah? Really, I just had
- 18:57Speaker 1: to say it this week. I told God, I said
- 19:00Speaker 1: you was on one with Africa. You was just over
- 19:03Speaker 1: here just sculpting and designing it. I mean, man, it's
- 19:07Speaker 1: hard for me that I can't really put it into words. Man,
- 19:11Speaker 1: And the Okavanga Delta is even more special. It's it's
- 19:18Speaker 1: how do you get to any question? How you get
- 19:20Speaker 1: to like okay, it's how do you travel to get there? First?
- 19:25Speaker 1: I took a jet to a place called my wound,
- 19:30Speaker 1: My Wound. Then you get off the jet and you
- 19:33Speaker 1: have to take a small smaller propeller play that still
- 19:37Speaker 1: seats like seven eight people. You could probably put more there,
- 19:41Speaker 1: but seven. Then we flew on that. You're not giving
- 19:50Speaker 1: us any type of how to get that for us?
- 19:55Speaker 1: Take this private jet and then another private jet. How
- 19:58Speaker 1: do hell do we get there? Let's not listen. No,
- 20:03Speaker 1: from goa Bone or from any other part of South
- 20:08Speaker 1: you can fly into my womb airport. But everybody that
- 20:13Speaker 1: goes to the Oka Bunga has to get off of
- 20:16Speaker 1: the commercial flight or private jet and get on a
- 20:20Speaker 1: smaller plane to take you directly to your lodge. But
- 20:25Speaker 1: why is trumm me mad? Though? Steve has an anger,
- 20:30Speaker 1: management anger, But give me the information I need from me,
- 20:35Speaker 1: not for you. Somebody gonna pick you up in the road.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Give me my information, all right, and we're gonna try
- 20:46Speaker 1: and end this right here and move on. Yeah, I
- 20:51Speaker 1: can see right now, everybody not going com me out
- 20:55Speaker 1: of Steacon death Jam, Reverend Motown with churchm there you go.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Right after this you're listening to coming up at the
- 21:06Speaker 1: top of the hour entertainment news. We'll talk fifty cents
- 21:09Speaker 1: to change powers theme song from Joe to trade songs
- 21:12Speaker 1: I do not know? Wow, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 21:18Speaker 1: We'll talk about that, plus an other entertainment news. The
- 21:21Speaker 1: MTV VMAs are tonight in Newark. But right now it
- 21:25Speaker 1: is Munday. You know what time it is. It is
- 21:28Speaker 1: time for church complaints with Deacon def Jam and Reverend Motown.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Come on, guys, let's see if we can do this together.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Will we already having a problem? This is turned from
- 21:52Speaker 1: church complaints to deacon complaint. We obviously have or repertosity
- 22:03Speaker 1: of congenial analytis going old Jack, this old reperprositorial comeback.
- 22:16Speaker 1: It's going to cost us in the long run. I
- 22:20Speaker 1: foretell Wow, I don't think so we'll go ahead. Or
- 22:25Speaker 1: deacon with church complaints? Hm, well, I get to my
- 22:29Speaker 1: complaints about you later. I guess you don't want to
- 22:32Speaker 1: hear that. Ever dam well, everly is true? What do
- 22:40Speaker 1: you mean it's true? What once? Do you have church complaints?
- 22:46Speaker 1: I have come down content. Candy, you're in ch watch
- 22:53Speaker 1: yourself for you don't be decon no more. I'm not
- 22:59Speaker 1: gonna be d decognized this situation. The first situation is
- 23:04Speaker 1: this show demotive, no custom pastor thank you side. I'll
- 23:13Speaker 1: be rutiful. I push the whole weekend. Yeah all right,
- 23:25Speaker 1: let's yeah, let's get down to business. To back that
- 23:28Speaker 1: thing up. Ministry wants to perform at the b ET
- 23:32Speaker 1: Sunday Best. They were going to audition. They need anybody
- 23:37Speaker 1: talk to Kirk. It's to back that thing up. Ministry
- 23:42Speaker 1: pastor and they want to perform at the bt Sunday Best.
- 23:44Speaker 1: They don't have money to get there, but they are
- 23:46Speaker 1: asking that the church fo the bells. So that's up
- 23:50Speaker 1: to you to decide um or awful, proud or the
- 23:54Speaker 1: back that thing up ministry. It's eight of them that
- 23:59Speaker 1: to do the farming path. I know our hand pick
- 24:04Speaker 1: six of them. I'm so proud of these girls, and
- 24:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna just say, okay, we will fund them. Really
- 24:17Speaker 1: or do we need to notify Kirk and let him
- 24:20Speaker 1: know they come in? What do we need to Kurt
- 24:23Speaker 1: Franklin don't need to know a damn thing all Kirk
- 24:29Speaker 1: got to do is bring them out. They qualified. What
- 24:31Speaker 1: would he see it? I'll bet hell alife donna get
- 24:37Speaker 1: some stumping for y'all. I'm moving moving along past that
- 24:43Speaker 1: somebody has been taking their shoes out, doing service and
- 24:46Speaker 1: stinking up the entire sanctuary. We have not hired somebody
- 24:50Speaker 1: for foot patrol to find out who it is. But
- 24:52Speaker 1: the foot patrol is gonna cout to us farted out
- 24:55Speaker 1: as an hour. So I need you to confirm that
- 24:57Speaker 1: it's all right. I wanted to say that the very
- 25:02Speaker 1: reason when Deacon Parnell had suggested that we do a
- 25:08Speaker 1: service or foot washing service, some he had dated a
- 25:12Speaker 1: girl that went to a Catholic church and they had
- 25:15Speaker 1: done a foot washing service. And I told him at
- 25:17Speaker 1: our church that wasn't gonna be a good idea causing
- 25:21Speaker 1: this very problem that you're saying we have, hey, because
- 25:27Speaker 1: because I know right now Clefler's or Naomi Husband's if
- 25:34Speaker 1: he pull his shoe off and spread his toe, man,
- 25:41Speaker 1: church service would be over there for after good Lord,
- 25:51Speaker 1: damn oh jam, that's what it was. I said, no, soft,
- 25:59Speaker 1: go ahead, deconsocial. We got a situation here, pastor the
- 26:03Speaker 1: scuba Diving Ministry went diving this past Saturday. They cannot
- 26:08Speaker 1: get brother Cyrus out of his wet suit. They have
- 26:11Speaker 1: tried and tried. He is missing work today due to
- 26:16Speaker 1: this issue and wants the church to cover his losses.
- 26:18Speaker 1: But they cannot get him out that wet suit. They
- 26:21Speaker 1: have pulled and pulled, and a Brother Cyrus is still
- 26:23Speaker 1: in that thing. The what you call it, the scuba
- 26:30Speaker 1: diving started by two white boys that joined the church
- 26:36Speaker 1: last summer. Ye who got lost. They got stuck here
- 26:40Speaker 1: from hitchhiking, because then hitchhike to the black neighborhood will
- 26:44Speaker 1: nobody to pick them up, So they stayed. They started
- 26:48Speaker 1: the hitching the or Scooba Diving Ministry. I told the
- 26:52Speaker 1: blacks not to go down now or who you say
- 26:57Speaker 1: gets stuck in the suit? Brother Syrus, Oh that's running now.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Cyberst and took his father ass down there, and now
- 27:05Speaker 1: he can't get out the which suit. So I think
- 27:09Speaker 1: what we need to do is with that paint or
- 27:11Speaker 1: shirt on the which suit and a bow tip just calling.
- 27:22Speaker 1: That's how he talks. Look for the anniversary that tight screw,
- 27:26Speaker 1: tight screen right lord, full of songs to all right,
- 27:37Speaker 1: uh here's another situation. Pasted the winning number of last
- 27:41Speaker 1: week's trait raffles one thirty seven, twenty two, forty eight
- 27:47Speaker 1: and nine. You are the winner. However, however, Deacon Rodney,
- 27:53Speaker 1: I didn't hear the numbers. I'm sorry, one thirty seven,
- 27:58Speaker 1: twenty two, forty eight and nine. That that's that's the
- 28:04Speaker 1: winning numbers. Back, I don't know. I'm wanting one thirty seven,
- 28:16Speaker 1: twenty two, forty eight and nine. Do you have these numbers?
- 28:28Speaker 1: I don't know how you got the knowing? What Hill
- 28:35Speaker 1: shot to be? Both? How much did Jack profold I
- 28:44Speaker 1: supposed to be? It got up to seventy five hundred
- 28:46Speaker 1: this time around? He past? My lord, my lord, what
- 28:56Speaker 1: a blessing, What a blessing? It is seventy five hold
- 29:03Speaker 1: and now to win? Allowed, All right, listen, thank you.
- 29:14Speaker 1: We gotta move on here. Coming up at the top
- 29:16Speaker 1: of the hour, entertain response for that entertainment and national
- 29:21Speaker 1: news on the way right after this. You're listening to

- 29:43Speaker 1: you to know. Well, let's ask it this way. Hotel
- 29:46Speaker 1: fifty cent to change the opening theme song, No Big,

- 29:55Speaker 1: us know that it was time for power. We could
- 29:57Speaker 1: sing along with this, trying to a love song. The song.
- 30:03Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, yeah, Now Trey Songs is doing it
- 30:08Speaker 1: the show, it does it really does. Think I think
- 30:14Speaker 1: he heard that Floyd Mayweather liked the song. That's why
- 30:22Speaker 1: we would really. I mean nothing against Trey Songs, nothing,
- 30:26Speaker 1: nothing against it, But we like the original song with Joe. Yes,
- 30:31Speaker 1: when it came on, I thought I had the wrong show. Yes,
- 30:34Speaker 1: I know that's what Rich just fits the whole narrative
- 30:38Speaker 1: of the show. And don't don't take us a big song,
- 30:44Speaker 1: No Jay, it's the same song. It's just fifty it's
- 30:46Speaker 1: just Tree singing it. It's got something to do with Joe.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Joe was just so smooth with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I mean nothing against the younger audience than Joe. This
- 31:02Speaker 1: season six, we got thet you still want to attract
- 31:07Speaker 1: the young I don't know the song, Yeah, I don't.

- 49:16Speaker 1: Morning Shot. Okay, little droppers, you know, a couple of
- 49:25Speaker 1: drops are stupid for y'all this morning on top of

- 49:29Speaker 1: want to do. Drop, sprinkle my stupid were here and
- 49:31Speaker 1: there wherever y'all need it. That's what I'm here for. Wow, well,

- 49:50Speaker 1: folk shows, baby too, Friday to Saturday. Yeah, little little blues,
- 49:55Speaker 1: little jazz, little supper and a little Tommy. He gets mad,
- 49:59Speaker 1: Steve when Jas plays the harmonica. He thinks Jay is
- 50:02Speaker 1: trying to take it. But he thinks Jay is trying
- 50:06Speaker 1: to take a shine. They don't come to rehearsal. I'm done,
- 50:17Speaker 1: finish up, nephew, I'm done. But that's the Blues Jazz.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I'll be there this weekend Friday and Saturday, two shows.

- 50:25Speaker 1: I'm just about out. Does that what I be doing?
- 50:30Speaker 1: Little blues, little jazz, little supple, and I even might

- 50:36Speaker 1: Thank you, all right, Nephew, thank you. Up next, it's

- 51:02Speaker 1: Steve Harvey FM and click submit Strawberry Letter. All right,
- 51:07Speaker 1: we could be reading your letter live on the air,
- 51:09Speaker 1: just like we're gonna be reading this one right here,
- 51:11Speaker 1: right now today. Yeah, buggal up, hold on tight, we
- 51:14Speaker 1: got it for you. Here. It is the Strawberry Letter, subject,
- 51:18Speaker 1: my best friend is just trying to help out. Dear
- 51:22Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, I've been married to my husband for eight
- 51:25Speaker 1: years and we have a five year old and a
- 51:27Speaker 1: two year old daughter. My husband has five other kids,
- 51:31Speaker 1: not including the two we have together. Yes, I know
- 51:34Speaker 1: this is a lot of kids. However, I want to
- 51:37Speaker 1: try for another baby next year. I am thirty two
- 51:41Speaker 1: and he is forty, and he says he is too
- 51:44Speaker 1: old to have more kids. I don't have a son
- 51:47Speaker 1: and would like to try for a son. I always
- 51:51Speaker 1: told him I wanted to have three children. We don't
- 51:54Speaker 1: have sex because he says he doesn't want to get
- 51:56Speaker 1: me pregnant, and if we do have sex, he buys
- 51:59Speaker 1: me the Plan pill to avoid any possible pregnancies. I
- 52:02Speaker 1: even asked if we can adopt, and he still said no.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I am starting to resent my husband and this is
- 52:10Speaker 1: causing a strain on our relationship because I want another baby.
- 52:15Speaker 1: We are financially stable enough to have another baby. I
- 52:19Speaker 1: confide it and my best friend, who happens to be
- 52:22Speaker 1: a man, and he offered me his sperm. As you know,
- 52:26Speaker 1: he would donate the sperm and sex would not be involved.
- 52:31Speaker 1: When I told my husband about my best friend's offer,
- 52:34Speaker 1: he flipped out and was highly upset. He said that
- 52:37Speaker 1: would be committing a sin, breaking the vows of marriage,
- 52:40Speaker 1: and he would not accept the baby as his child.
- 52:43Speaker 1: He also said he would divorce me if I even
- 52:46Speaker 1: brought it up again. I think it is very unfair
- 52:49Speaker 1: because he won't give me another baby. It's my body
- 52:52Speaker 1: and if I want another baby, I should be able
- 52:54Speaker 1: to get pregnant and have another baby. Am I wrong here?
- 52:58Speaker 1: Please help? Well? You know you're both wrong, and I'll
- 53:04Speaker 1: tell you why. You for going to another man outside
- 53:07Speaker 1: of your marriage to get another baby. I mean, that's
- 53:11Speaker 1: not the way you do it. And of course your
- 53:13Speaker 1: husband is wrong for just shutting you out, not even
- 53:16Speaker 1: hearing of your requests, for being so mean and close
- 53:20Speaker 1: minded about you. You're his wife. He should be, you know,
- 53:23Speaker 1: compassionate and understanding as to how you feel. I get
- 53:28Speaker 1: that he already has five children in addition to the
- 53:31Speaker 1: two daughters that you guys have together. But you have
- 53:36Speaker 1: to talk, and you should have talked to each other
- 53:38Speaker 1: before you got here to this place. He's only forty,
- 53:44Speaker 1: and while he may he may say that's too old,
- 53:47Speaker 1: it's not too old. I think it's just that he
- 53:50Speaker 1: is tired of having kids. Seven kids you said it
- 53:53Speaker 1: in a letter. That's a lot of kids by anyone standards.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Seven kids is a lot of kids. You say your
- 53:59Speaker 1: financial stable enough to have a lot of kids, to
- 54:02Speaker 1: have more kids. But you know, if your husband doesn't
- 54:06Speaker 1: want to have kids, you guys have to be on
- 54:09Speaker 1: the same page as far as it's concerned. You, on
- 54:11Speaker 1: the other hand, are only thirty two, you're still young enough.
- 54:14Speaker 1: You're you're you're perfectly within your rights to want more
- 54:17Speaker 1: children and to try for a boy if that's what
- 54:19Speaker 1: you want, But you can't do it with this husband
- 54:22Speaker 1: because he's not interested. You guys have a major issue
- 54:25Speaker 1: in your marriage. I don't see how you can come
- 54:28Speaker 1: to an agreement or a compromise. I really don't. He
- 54:31Speaker 1: doesn't want any more children. He doesn't want any more children.
- 54:34Speaker 1: You do. Period, Okay, period? You hear? I think I
- 54:39Speaker 1: can confidently say this that if you do have another child,
- 54:44Speaker 1: it won't be with your current husband unless you trick
- 54:47Speaker 1: him or trap him or something like that. And if
- 54:49Speaker 1: you go to your best friend and get his sperm,
- 54:55Speaker 1: you're going to be done with this marriage. This marriage
- 54:58Speaker 1: is practically over anyway, because as of your husband's rules,
- 55:01Speaker 1: he doesn't want another kid you do, He won't accept
- 55:04Speaker 1: the baby as his own. If you have another one.
- 55:07Speaker 1: He doesn't want to adopt. You have no options here?
- 55:10Speaker 1: You have no options here, Steve, Well, surely I have
- 55:15Speaker 1: different take on this. I believe that she does have options,
- 55:19Speaker 1: and I'll tell you why as soon as y'all ask
- 55:21Speaker 1: me why, Steve. She's been married to her husband for
- 55:25Speaker 1: eight years and they got a five year old and
- 55:29Speaker 1: a two year old together. They both girls. My husband
- 55:34Speaker 1: has five other kids, not including the other the two
- 55:38Speaker 1: we have together. Now, let's stop right here. Here go
- 55:40Speaker 1: the whole damn problem right here. It's them five other
- 55:44Speaker 1: damn kids. This is the reason he's struggling with another one.
- 55:54Speaker 1: So don't take it personal. It ain't you. It's still
- 56:00Speaker 1: damn other ones. That's where the problem come in. We
- 56:06Speaker 1: don't know where they strolled all out at. They could
- 56:10Speaker 1: be citywide, statewide, countrywide, they may be global international. We
- 56:22Speaker 1: don't know, but there's a lot of money. Now, if
- 56:26Speaker 1: he foughty, I'm a solman. He started having kids around
- 56:31Speaker 1: twenty eighteen. Maybe that means he's still paying child support.
- 56:40Speaker 1: That's why he don't want no more kids. See, y'all
- 56:43Speaker 1: may be financially stable, but that child support choking homie,
- 56:48Speaker 1: that's your problem right there. Now. You say, yes, I
- 56:52Speaker 1: know that's a lot of kids, but you want to
- 56:54Speaker 1: try for another one because you're thirty two, and he
- 56:56Speaker 1: fought it. He say too old to have more kids.
- 56:59Speaker 1: That's not true. You can have more kids path forty
- 57:02Speaker 1: and you don't got a boy, and you want a boy.
- 57:04Speaker 1: And always you always told him you wanted three kids.
- 57:09Speaker 1: And now y'all ain't having sex because he said he
- 57:11Speaker 1: don't want to get me pregnant if we do have sex.
- 57:14Speaker 1: He buy me to plan beat peel to avoid any
- 57:16Speaker 1: possible pregnancy. And you take the damn peep. But just man,
- 57:22Speaker 1: make buying a peal, making you take it? Standing there,
- 57:25Speaker 1: watch you swallowing. This ain't no marriage. All right, hang
- 57:29Speaker 1: onto that thought, Steve, Um, we have more. We'll have
- 57:33Speaker 1: part two of your response when we come back at
- 57:35Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters subject my
- 57:38Speaker 1: best friend is just trying to help out here. Okay,
- 57:41Speaker 1: we'll get back into it right after this. You're listening show,
- 57:46Speaker 1: all right, Steve, Let's recap today's Strawberry Letters subject my
- 57:50Speaker 1: best friend is just trying to help out. Yeah, you
- 57:54Speaker 1: got this husband you've been married to. Y'all got two
- 57:56Speaker 1: kids when he got five other kids. You want another
- 57:59Speaker 1: baby because you want to try for a boy. You
- 58:01Speaker 1: thirty two, he forty. He said he too old and
- 58:03Speaker 1: had kids. You told him when y'all got married, y'all
- 58:06Speaker 1: want to have three kids. He say he ain't having it,
- 58:09Speaker 1: and y'all don't hardly have sex because he don't want
- 58:11Speaker 1: to get you pregnant. Then when you do have sex,
- 58:14Speaker 1: he buy peal to Plan B pill and make you
- 58:16Speaker 1: take it to avoid any possible pregnancy. You asked this food,
- 58:23Speaker 1: could you adopt and he still said no. I'm starting
- 58:27Speaker 1: to resent your my husband. It is causing a strain
- 58:30Speaker 1: under your relationship because you want another baby. Now you
- 58:34Speaker 1: say you financially stable. Now here's the problem. You wun't
- 58:37Speaker 1: till your best friend, who happens to be a maid.
- 58:41Speaker 1: He offered his sperm. Let's stop right here. Anybody got
- 58:47Speaker 1: problem with this? Hill En will offer spern moost Man.
- 58:57Speaker 1: I know it's willing to offer sperm. I don't. That's
- 59:04Speaker 1: where the term sperm donor came from, by the fact
- 59:09Speaker 1: we like giving it up so much. We'll give it
- 59:11Speaker 1: to people we don't know. We don't even have to
- 59:15Speaker 1: care about you. We have extra we want to donate
- 59:21Speaker 1: it to you. Now, your damn best friend, who is
- 59:24Speaker 1: a man, then told you that he'll offer you his sperm.
- 59:29Speaker 1: And then you said in the letter, as you know,
- 59:31Speaker 1: he would donate the sperm and sex would not be involved. Lady,
- 59:36Speaker 1: that's what he said, but her best friend because he's
- 59:40Speaker 1: attracted to you, And now he's so attracted to you,
- 59:45Speaker 1: he said, I don't need my sperm. He's been wanting
- 59:48Speaker 1: to say this all alone. This just the topic that
- 59:52Speaker 1: then came up. And you said, as you know, he
- 59:56Speaker 1: would donate the sperm and sex would not be involved. Well,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: sex might not be involved, but you're gonna have to
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: get that sperm though. Hello church, say man, man might
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: not have that, but you gotta get it, and you
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: can't leave it where it is. To have it got
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: to come out. Hello man, how you think we're gonna
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: get it out of the little house he lived? You
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: serious right now? Now, I'm dead serious. Something got to happen.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: You stop all this. He we don't have to have sex.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: We're gonna have something now. Then your crazy ass went
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: in the house told your husband about your best friend's offer.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Your husband flipped, was holly upset. He said this would
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: be committing a sin sound like to me because he
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: really show what you mean. But he want to donate
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: some sperm because your husband got a real good idea
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: of what donating sperm me. You'd be breaking the vials
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: of the marriage because all he says all seas you
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: having sex or getting that sperm donated some kind of way,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: and said he would not accept the child as his.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Hell it ain't. It ain't his baby, it's your best
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: friend's baby. He also said he divorced you if you
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: brought it up again. Now you think it's very unfair
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: because he won't give me another baby. It's my body
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: and if I want another baby, I should be able
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: to get pregnant to have a baby. Lady, you are
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: one percent correct. Now, Shirley said this right here. It
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: won't be with this dude right here. Unless you just
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: go on and have sex with your husband and quit
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: taking that damn peel, then you're gonna have a baby.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Then what he gonna do? But then guess what, No
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: nobody really want to have a baby with somebody that
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: don't want a baby. But it happens all the time,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: and you can act like some women and go, well,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: he'll grow to love the child. He might, but he
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: might quit loving you though, because he will be resembling
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: because he has sold all his wilos with all these
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: other chicks that got the five other kids. Now he
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: want to shut it down, and you haven't told him
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you won't three. You should be able to get pregnant
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: and have a baby, but Shirley's right, probably won't be
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: with this dude. Right here? Am I wrong here? Please help? Well,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: if you want to have another baby and he don't,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: you're gonna have to go have another baby. And you
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: do have the right, but I think you told your
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: husband you wanted three kids in the beginning. Now somewhere
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: along the line it's child sport whooping his ass. He
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: won't see it, so now he is issuing ultimatum. But
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: the biggest mistake you made was this sperm donor conversation
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: with your husband, because now he got a platform to
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: stand on that ain't got nothing to do with the
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: pregnancy or the baby. Now, he didn't use this divorce
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: to really shut you down. It's a cold, tricky pulling
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: on you, but it's working because you don't wrote in
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: a letter. So I don't know what to tell you, man,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: But it don't look like you'll be having a baby
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: with your husband. And don't leave your husband for your
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: best friend, please, and do not take your best friend
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: spurn and your lung is some sperms like you don't
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: must that's all. You hold me some spurs, all right?
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Looking all right? Steve? Thank you. You can post your
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: comments on Today's Strawberry Letter on Instagram and Facebook at

- 1:04:27Speaker 1: big war. Now. Everyone has been debating over whose combination
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: of bun, chicken and pickles makes the best sandwich. The
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: memes are out of control on social media about the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: chicken sandwich war. It's like the best we've ever seen Okay,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: our very own Jay Anthony Brown was in a meme
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: using one of his scenes as a band director in
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: the movie Drumline. Okay, tell us about a Jay the
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: band up there directing the band and I turned around
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: and dude, you know to cover the mouse. I think
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Popeyes use that against churches, so against use it against
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Its crazy. It's crazy. I'm out of the country, so
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: I haven't seen it. Go ahead. I have not had
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: the Popeyes chickens chicken sand Who who's chicken sandwiches? I
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: haven't had Popeyes chicken sandwich. So let me just start
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: right there. I have Hey, lord, Lord, I don't see
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: how you can beat that sandwich. Yeah, I'm gonna get involved,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: but I don't see how you can beat that sandwich.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: Not Jay was talking about it. Off Jay, what do
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: you say? Hope? You hope? I just hope there's many
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: people who are standing in line and get a damn
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: chicken sandwich will be the same people standing in line
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: to vote. Come on, yeah, yeah, yeah, and get a
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: damn chicken salmon stand in line to vote? How about
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: standing pta meets? How about that? Yeah? I mean, seriously, man,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: if we are took the voting of judges and senators
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: and congressmen. Yes, and and and and all these county commissioners.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: If we took that as seriousness, this we could actually change.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: There's a lot of yeah, yeah, y'all want to do
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: chicken wards, Let's do some voting, let's make some local election.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: But yeah, a current ball. Don't even know who that's
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: senators and representatives. One, no idea. What were you saying, Tommy,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I said, Papas threw a curveball and say you can
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: get chicken over here on Sunday if you want to
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: say when you get out of church. All right, listen.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, guys uh
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: trending sports Talk, The Indianapolis Coats quarterback Andrew Luck announced
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: his retirement, and Coats fans booed him. We'll talk about
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: a junior coming up right after this. You're listening to show. Wow,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: we got to talk about this junior. Junior is here
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: with sports talk. What is going on in the NFL?
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: H disey, I have no idea that Tony o'brown helmet issue.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: He got denied a second time. Then all of a sudden,
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: now we have h Indian quarterback Andrew Luck retiring at
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: twenty nine, in the middle of his prime. He just retired.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: He just I've been just saying I can't do it.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: He said he's mentally fatigued. He has a lot of
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: physical injuries, like his ankles are swollen, shoulders, calf injuries,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: and even a lacerated kidneys. And he says he's had
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: blood in his Yearine so, and then they don't even
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: can in the aplace. The fans booed him at the game. Yeah,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: they booed him at the game when playing against the Bears.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: They just up and started booming. But I understand why
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: the fans is booming, You do, because they super Bowl
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: chances went out the window. Oh that's it. So their
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: new quarterback now is gonna be Kobe prict let's stay
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: backup quarterback. Now he's gonna have to be the guy.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: But at so the Indianapolis coach fans are buoying because
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: their Super Bowl chances have gone out the window. So
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: they would rather have the super Bowl chance has remained, right,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: and let this guy's chance of having a long healthy
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: lighting out on earth. You think that super Bowl ring
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: supersedes his living a long healthy life. To play with
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: his kids. He only twenty nine. You know, man, you
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: can't boot. Football is a violent sport. Man. I don't
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: think people understand what these guys, how all of them
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: play injured week after week after week, and how damaging
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: this game is to them. You know, we've talked about concussions.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Will Smith did a movie about it. This stuff is real,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: man in the NFL, and I applaud a guy who
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: wants to live longer more than he wants to play
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: the game of football. And you should be stealthy. You know,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: he wanted to play. They says his retirement was emotional,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: and fans start boring that's crazy, yeah, and no damn sense.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: So what you want him do you? You want to
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: wait till he can't walk right right right? And the
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: coach Ta're gonna let him keep his twenty four point
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: on his contract? Yeah, yeah, he still had time on
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: his contract. But you could see when that press conference, Uh,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: he thanked his wife and his family and he said that, Steve,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: he said that verbatim, that the NFL just long term
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: doesn't provide him let him live the life that he
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: wants to live, and live a lifestyle that he wants
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: to have. And you know, getting beat up every Sunday
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: and it was right. And you think that wasn't a
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: hard decision for him to make to quit the game.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: He loves you know, you know, but you know a
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: lot of these play comedians. Yeah, I know comedians. They
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: got out of the game because they just couldn't handle
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: them bad sex they was having. I know comedians that
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: should get out of the game now, Steve, They should
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: get out right. Yeah, you up on stage and you
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: ain't getting no damn last the game. Get after the
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: audience member is uncomfortable you up there, You ain't getting
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: no laughs. They squammling on, trying not to make eye contact.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: To come back, come back there and try to talk
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: to the rest of us. We don't know what the
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: tech ain't laughing laughing men rough out there? Yeah, it was.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: It was rough out there for you. Yeah, I gotta
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: standing over. Wow, man, how much time did you do?
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Seem like wasn't no laughs left in the room. Yeah,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: tough crowd. They ain't the type of all really asking everybody.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: You know, something going on? Man, It just don't seem
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: like they get to jokes and get them get mine. Hey,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: how you expect me now to go up here and
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: say something though, Wow, I don't have to bring this up. Well,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: thanks you guys. Coming up. More music, more fun, more ignorance.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: You know, we got it all right here on the

- 1:15:01Speaker 1: that I was a star dance floor, right, and you're
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: celebrating your birthday too, of celebrating her. Yeah, libras were celebrating.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: You know what I love about this whole thing though,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: It's nothing like seeing black people on vacation across the
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: water because when you soon as you pull up, you
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: know how to talk to everybody in there. What's up? Many?
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: We finished start this thing right now, going to the bar.

- 1:15:52Speaker 1: and join me. I'm gonna do somewhat of a uh well,
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: I was saying, I was gonna say a Q and A,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: but it's most me. Just gonna be sharing with you
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: some of the things I learned on vacation this year
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: about motivation, about life, about inspiration, about accomplishing your dreams.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: Everybody I know wants to be happy and successful. I've
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: learned so much over the years, but I really became
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: a new me out there on that boat this year,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: and I want to share that with people so you
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: can use some of these things I've learned and incorporated
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: in your life. After that, skip all this, the cigar line,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: climbing rolls from Cigars with your boy. We got real
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: rollers on deck, we got all the drinks that go
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: with it. Yeah, and one of my favorite events was
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: hosting the Sand and Soul version of Showtime and their
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: polym is involved, buoying is involved, just like it was
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: last year. I'm sorry down here and said you could say,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: but we found out you could. Steve Harvey saying thesoul
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: dot Com, y'all come on and join this man got
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: it straight out at Steve Harvey saying, thesoul dot Com
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: eight six eight four twenty eight twenty five operators are
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: standing back. All right, we'll be back with more and
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: our last break of the day at forty nine minutes
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: after the hour. Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, Steve, here we are last break
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: of the day. It's been a good Monday. It's been
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: a good Monday. Yeah, welcome back Jay. Yeah, and wow,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Jay's thinking about getting married again. I mean that was good,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: and I love itself. That was bit. He thought that
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: several times. I said, yes, said I need a wife something.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: How are you gonna get a wife without getting married? Okay,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: there's a way that you can do it without that,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: let me know anyway. All right, Steve, So time for
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: you now to leave us with some closing remarks, like
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: you always do, some good ones. As you know. I
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: was thinking the other day because this year my vacation
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: was more spiritual than it's ever been. And I kid
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: you not to keep saying it, but God really really
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: opened up my eyes to a lot of things. And
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: I have no problem sharing it, man, And I've learned
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: so much that I'm kind of aggravated at myself a
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: little bit that I didn't take the time to sit
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: down and really let his presence speak to me the
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: way I did this year. I'm kind of aggravated at
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: myself that I didn't do this years ago. And I
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: found out real quick that I was wasting a lot
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: of time being mad at myself, because how many times
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: have you seen it in your life? If I only
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: knew then what I know now, but you know what
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: I had to come to terms with, I just wouldn't
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: have taken this information and appreciated it the same way.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: And I think all of us when we sit back
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: and people ask us questions like if you could change anything,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: what would you change in your life? Or if you
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: were talking to your twenty year old self, what would
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: you say to your twenty year old self. I don't
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: mind answering that question what would I say to my
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: twenty year old self? But the question is often asked,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: if you could change anything, what would you change? Well,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I knew a lot of stuff in my life that
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: lasted a lot longer than I wanted to. I didn't
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: think I needed to live in a car for three
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: years after I learned what he was teaching me. It
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: took three years for me to get it. I didn't
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: think that I needed to get divorced, but after getting divorced,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: I learned what he was trying to teach me. Because
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: because what you gotta understand is behind, and I've said
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: this several times before, behind every moment of adversity, there's
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: a lesson and there's a blessing. And so all the
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: experiences that I've had in my life have led to
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: some incredible lessons and some incredible blessings. Now, the lessons
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: you don't like them all the time, because being disciplined
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: nobody likes that. But the blessings you do like. But
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: in every last one of those lessons, if I stayed
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: the course and paid attention, that was always a blessing behind.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: So I can't change anything that's ever happened to me
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: because that's how I became experienced. That's how you've become experienced.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: That's why you know what you know. That's why you
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: can cope with what you can cope with. A lot
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: of people complain about the hardships that they've had in
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: their life. For what people sometimes don't look at is
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: that in spite of those hardships. I mean, look at you.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: You survived every last one of them. Not one of
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: them took you out because you still him. So instead
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: of steady reminiscenting and talking about how hard you'dn't had it,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: why don't you show some gratitude for the fact that
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: he bought you through it. And I promise you you're
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: stronger for it. You get stronger because you've been challenged,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: you got you get tougher because you get you've been
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: whipped on. You know things because you are now experienced.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: You know how to fight because you've been beat You
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: know how to get up because you kept getting knocked down. Man.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: Ain't that amazing? Man? And that sometimes you have to
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: realize that you got to go through some things to
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: end up with some things. I just would not be
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: the person I am today, and you would not be
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: the person that you are today had you not gone
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: through what you're going through. I guess what I got
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: that you was uncomfortable with the fact that you didn't
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: meet your father or your mom passed early. I got
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: you uncomfortable with the fact that you were adopted. I'm
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: got that you're uncomfortable with the fact that you had
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: to go through falster care. I got you uncomfortable with
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: all of that, But ain't you still here? Though it
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: didn't break you. But see, if you don't move past
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: the lesson, if you keep going over the lesson, you'll
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: never make yourself available for the blessing. I had to
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: go through this, and then I went through that. You
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: keep going over the lesson. I can't leave the Lord,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: let me get a die. Then I never met my
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: mother and father. I got that. I can't believe they
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: put me in foster? Can they muster didn't want me
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: understand all of that. But when you get through saying
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: all of that, have you ever thought that just maybe
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: in there it made you a little bit stronger, made
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: you a little bit tougher, made your little bit wiser,
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: made you a little bit more experience, And in that
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: that is the blessing. So quick complaining and talking about
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: the lesson and focus, because behind every moment of adversity
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: there is a lesson and a blessing. So now we
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: can't none of us change what happened to us. It
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: probably shouldn't want to, because we wouldn't be who we
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: are today. Those are my closing remarks today ain't never
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: drop the mic done, have yourself a great we can't
