Latest / Neighbourly: Real Stories of Care and Community / JeoPARTY | Behind the Mic with Johan & Wendi
Transcript
- 0:02What does loving your neighbor actually look like? This
- 0:06is Journey with Care, where curious Canadians get inspired to
- 0:10love others well through real life stories and honest
- 0:13conversations.
- 0:19I think the thing you're most excited about is me being
- 0:23on. You don't have to do all the intros.
- 0:28Which is my first three words? So if you don't
- 0:32know what we're talking about here, I'm Johan Heer on
- 0:35with Wendy on with the Journey with Care podcast,
- 0:39And I'm gonna be joining as more of
- 0:43a presence on the podcast as a secondary host.
- 0:47I'm so looking forward to it. Yes. And if if you caught that that those
- 0:50first few, banters, I often have hard
- 0:54time starting my intros, and you've been, coaching me on how to do
- 0:57podcasting. And so, I'm glad that you're on this side of the mic
- 1:01now. Yeah. So it's gonna be a little bit more fun just to have
- 1:05another perspective, and maybe I can bring Wendy down sometimes
- 1:08when she's on with a guest and, you know, she takes over, that sort of
- 1:11things. Good luck with that. Yeah. You might have noticed that we are calling this
- 1:15series Jet Party. We want to do something a
- 1:19little bit lighter because we've had some heavy topics, and we got some
- 1:23heavy topics coming. And because I'm jumping on as a secondary host
- 1:26for more episodes, it's not gonna be every episode. Sometimes one of us will be
- 1:30away. But for more episodes, we wanna just give our
- 1:34listeners an opportunity to get to know us a little bit better, being able to
- 1:38connect with us as hosts. And along with that, we
- 1:41created this group forum on our website for our listeners
- 1:45to come on and chat with us, ask questions, get to know other
- 1:49listeners, and have those conversations. So you can already check that out
- 1:53and join that group discussion at journey with care dotca.
- 1:58That is up and running, and we're excited about that. So
- 2:02Yeah. I really hope people, jump on that because we do
- 2:05listen to our listeners. We do read every comment that they they
- 2:09write, and and I'm looking forward to maybe getting some of the
- 2:13questions that, some of you in the audience are are listening to and might have
- 2:15for us. It's gonna be good. And just to make it a little bit more
- 2:26return for their labor. If either of them falls down, Wendy,
- 2:30one can help the other up. I fell yesterday. And
- 2:34where were you? You weren't being very spiritual. I I tripped on my stairs.
- 2:37But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them out. So
- 2:41we got each other to help each other out. So sorry for myself. Yep. Yeah.
- 2:45It's often used, misquoted for a wedding text. I'm glad
- 2:48that, we are both happily married to different people. But,
- 2:52it is important that we work together. And I'm a little nervous actually
- 2:56because we haven't, rehearsed this, haven't seen each other's questions.
- 2:59So this jeopardy game is you're gonna get the authentic
- 3:03us. Yeah. And back to the group discussion, it's called the Sojourner's
- 3:07group. That's what we've called it. So if you join the group, you are an
- 3:10official Sojourner of Journey with Care. Anyway, we're
- 3:13gonna be splitting this up into 3 episodes. It's gonna go back and
- 3:17forth for the first two episodes, questions that Wendy and I have prepared
- 3:21for each other without knowing the questions in advance.
- 3:25And then for the 3rd episode, this is where our listeners
- 3:28come in. We need you to submit questions. It could be for us personally.
- 3:33It could be fun questions. It could be for Care Impact. It could be about
- 3:36the podcast, previous conversations. Anything that's just
- 3:40been bothering you or you just wanna know a little bit more
- 3:44about us, you can submit those questions in the Sojourners group, or
- 3:48we also have a link on our website again to submit questions for
- 3:51that specific episode. But you need to have your questions
- 3:55in before April 13th
- 3:582024 dating the podcast here. But please submit those
- 4:02questions so that we have something to talk about in the 3rd episode, and
- 4:06it should be fun. Alright. We are gonna move
- 4:10into our back and forth discussion. First of all,
- 4:14maybe we should just introduce ourselves. Maybe some people don't even
- 4:17know a little bit about us. I mean, Wendy, probably a
- 4:21little bit more because she's been on the podcast and kinda throwing tidbits
- 4:25here and there on her conversation. So you might already have a bit of a
- 4:28connection to Wendy. I've been on for a few episodes. You would have
- 4:31learned about my daughter Danica. We did a series of
- 4:353 episodes there. So, yeah, I have 4
- 4:39kids. I have a son who's 17, almost 18, graduating
- 4:42this year. My daughter is turning 16. She's 15.
- 4:46And a son who's turning 14, who's 13. So, yeah,
- 4:50everybody turns a year older every year. So You too.
- 4:53Hey? Yeah. But they all have birthdays coming up. And my wife, we've been
- 4:57married for 21 years. And yeah. Oh, you
- 5:01beat us. My wife, Corey, she hasn't been on the podcast yet, but, yeah, maybe
- 5:05someday. We're gonna have to get her, on here sometime. I would love
- 5:09to to get her story. Yeah. For my family, for
- 5:12those of you that don't know me, my name's Wendy Park, and I'm the,
- 5:17cofounder for Care Impact along with my husband, Harold. He has been
- 5:20on the podcast once before. So he and I started
- 5:24Care Impact, out of just a love for the church
- 5:28and, for our community and across Canada,
- 5:32seeing the church in community. But we have a bustling
- 5:35family of we're 10 people together. I have 6
- 5:39kids, most of them older. The youngest is, like, still a
- 5:42teenager and, and up, and 2 grandkids.
- 5:47We live in here in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 territory. And
- 5:52what else is there to know about me, Johan? I guess they're gonna find out
- 5:55in this game. I don't know what kind of questions you've asked me. Say what
- 5:59I do at Care Impact or anything. I mean, I've been there for, what, a
- 6:02year and a half now, I think. Yeah. Just over that. I'm producing
- 6:06the podcast with Care Impact. I am the content development
- 6:09specialist for the last year and a half, helping work on the
- 6:13LMS to learning and equipping online,
- 6:17creating the school, which I've I've done in my previous employment
- 6:20where I where I built up an internship and our
- 6:24school and our online classes and all that sort of thing, which I'm bringing into
- 6:28Care Impact. So let's get into our jeopardy party. Jeep
- 6:31party. Alright. Let's do this.
- 6:37Okay. Well, I think we should probably explain the 4
- 6:41categories for today, so it's not like classic jeopardy. We're
- 6:45gonna ask the question, and the other person's gonna answer. These are questions that we
- 6:48haven't, shared with each other, but there's 4 categories,
- 6:52from 100 to 500 value and easy
- 6:56to harder. The first category is fun and whimsy.
- 7:00The second category is faith and purpose, and the third category
- 7:04is would you rather, and the 4th category is learning. And so I'm gonna maybe
- 7:05turn category is learning. And so I'm gonna
- 7:09maybe turn it over to Johan. You can choose your first
- 7:12category, for whichever dollar amount that
- 7:16you want. Alright. Let's go let's just start with something fun. Let's
- 7:20go fun and whimsy for 300. Alright.
- 7:24Let me reveal this because I have not seen it. So,
- 7:27Johan, fun and whimsy for 300. Can you share a guilty
- 7:31pleasure TV show or movie that you enjoy?
- 7:35Well, I have to say I love
- 7:39the Indiana Jones movies. Ever since I was a little kid, it it's
- 7:43always fed that that adventure part of me
- 7:47and my love for history. So growing up, like, I loved
- 7:50history. I would like, I was on the search for the Ark of the Covenant
- 7:54with my head in the in books because of Raiders of the Lost Ark. So,
- 7:58like, I love that stuff Okay. And The Office. Oh, good to know. And The
- 8:01Office, you said. I have still not watched that series. I I it just
- 8:05bores me. Wendy, what's your first one you wanna pick
- 8:08here? Okay. I'm going to I'm gonna get spiritual
- 8:12here. I'm gonna do faith and purpose for 100, please.
- 8:16How do you define living life on purpose? That's a
- 8:20deep one. Oh, sheesh. That should be a $500
- 8:23one. How do you define living life
- 8:27on purpose? K. You're gonna cut out the silence.
- 8:30Right? This is a hard one.
- 8:34Well, when I think of life on purpose, I think of intentionality. Are we
- 8:38just letting life slip through our fingers, or are we gonna actually do some
- 8:41things? And so for me, living life on purpose is being
- 8:45intentional about what I do, even doing hard things, whether that's
- 8:48learning or traveling or saying goodbyes or having
- 8:52new hellos. I think that to me is living life on purpose,
- 8:56and it also has to do with knowing who I am and who I am
- 9:00becoming and who god has created me to be and aligning
- 9:04those choices to that. We'll go with that. Okay.
- 9:08If our listeners have more questions on that specifically, journey
- 9:12with care dotca, and you'll get that in the 3rd episode. Alright.
- 9:15Let's go with learning for 200. I'm teaching you a really
- 9:19complicated board game. So if you had to choose between
- 9:23reading the instructions, listening to the instructions,
- 9:27watching me play it, or doing it, simply playing it, how would you
- 9:30learn best? This one hits close to home
- 9:34because I have family members that love board games,
- 9:37and explaining complicated board games to me makes me wanna
- 9:41run and hide. They I usually need warning ahead
- 9:45of time so I can go on YouTube and watch how the game is played.
- 9:48So I would have to say watching and then also just Okay.
- 9:51Getting on with it, playing this chitter chatter. Yeah. None
- 9:55of that. Let's get at her. Yeah. Yeah. No. I'm with you. You you taught
- 9:59me a board game at our last, staff retreat, and, I learned by
- 10:03doing actually. I don't think you liked that game, though. It's too
- 10:07it it wasn't black and white for you. I did. I did
- 10:11because it challenged me. Dixit. Dixit. Yep. Was
- 10:14the game, and I actually bought that game for my family after for
- 10:18Christmas. So it just took me a little while to warm up to it. It
- 10:21was way too whimsical for me and abstract, but, you know, I'm I'm
- 10:25willing to learn new things. My wife hates that game. Oh, well,
- 10:29we don't play it anymore for that matter, but, alright, I'm
- 10:32gonna go for would you rather for
- 10:36300, please. Would you rather engage in a
- 10:40deep theological discussion or participate in vibrant
- 10:44worship? Well, I would I do
- 10:47like good worship music and being in a service
- 10:51where there's good worship in that way, but I am
- 10:54gonna lean towards, theological discussion any
- 10:58day. It it depends though who I'm talking with, but I I
- 11:02do enjoy theology. I do discussing things not just for the
- 11:05cerebral exercise, but I I could even be devil's advocate
- 11:09in challenging where we go with our discussion
- 11:13and and understanding the depths of God. I think there's always
- 11:17a mystery there that intrigues me. So, yeah, I'm
- 11:20definitely leaning towards the theological discussion. Alright.
- 11:24I I bet you would do the music because you're a musician. I really enjoy
- 11:28a good theological discussion. Me and my son go and walks, and we duke it
- 11:31out all the time talking about theology and videos we've watched on theology. We
- 11:35love that stuff. As far as worship, yeah, I'm a worship leader too,
- 11:38but theology is great. You can't have good worship without good
- 11:42theology. So What I don't enjoy about theological discussions
- 11:46is if we're just really rigid on when we say
- 11:49theology, are we talking just white theology? Because that's often what we reduce
- 11:53it to. Or are we looking at liberation theology and all these other
- 11:57different ways and perspectives and world views? That's what intrigues me
- 12:00because there that's what challenges me to get out of my white box
- 12:04and encompass more ways of looking at who god is and what the bible
- 12:08says. So that's what I mean by by theology, not just
- 12:12western theology. Alright. I'm gonna try a would you rather
- 12:15for 400. Alright. Would you rather
- 12:19retire early and enjoy life on the beach or work as long as you
- 12:23possibly can in what you love to do? Definitely
- 12:27the second one. I I don't even enjoy the beach, and
- 12:30maybe I I don't know how much I have set aside for retirement anyway,
- 12:34so that's not really an option. You did sign your
- 12:38life away with Care Impact, I hope. If you wanna support our work, careimpact.ca.
- 12:43There we go. Shameless plug here. Okay. I'm gonna go fun and
- 12:46whimsy for 100. Alright. If
- 12:50you were a superhero, what would your superpower
- 12:54be? Oh, goodness. Now I'm gonna reveal some of my childhood upbringing.
- 12:57I was very sheltered, and I didn't really watch TV or really get into
- 13:01it even when I could. You can invent 1. Oh, I could
- 13:05I like inventing. Okay. So I think I would love
- 13:09to be I'm a networker, and there's a lot of times where
- 13:12I'd like to be many places at once. Because I get FOMO. I I
- 13:16like to be at a lot of places not because I feel like I need
- 13:19to be at all those places, but I want to. I love networking and being
- 13:23part of some of the things that are happening across Canada.
- 13:27And I do like a good travel too, so I'd love to jump all over
- 13:31the globe. So, yeah, that's my answer. And when I look at your calendar,
- 13:34sometimes looks looks like you are omnipresent. So
- 13:39I try. I try. How is she in this city and this city all on
- 13:42the same day? Does it make any sense? Yeah. No. I I get around.
- 13:46I I make it work. Alright. Faith and
- 13:50purpose for 300. Okay. Let's
- 13:54see if you got an easier one. I I kinda shied away after that one.
- 13:57You you scared me after the first one. Okay. Faith and
- 14:01Purpose for 300. Can you share a favorite bible
- 14:04verse or quote that resonates with you? Oh,
- 14:08I'll I'll do quote and a and a verse. My favorite quote
- 14:12is probably by Tozer and most people know it. The first thing
- 14:16that comes to your mind when you think of god is the most important thing
- 14:19about you. That is Mhmm. My favorite quote by
- 14:23Tozer. And my favorite verse is actually
- 14:27an obscure one, which I've kind of run with for a few
- 14:30decades now. It's Amos 5 4, a part of it. It's
- 14:34simply seek me and live. Seek the Lord and
- 14:38live. So Oh, I like that. Amos
- 14:41isn't usually the the quotable that people come up with so that that you
- 14:45get, an extra point for originality. Alright. I'm gonna
- 14:49go with faith and purpose for 200, please.
- 14:53Can you recall a moment where your faith was tested and how
- 14:57did you overcome it? That's a deep one. Well, I can recall
- 15:01many moments where my faith was tested and how I
- 15:04overcame it. Many of you will already know I'm an Enneagram
- 15:088, and I love a good challenge. And sometimes I walk into these challenges,
- 15:12and and those are the things that have tested me. But if you're wanting an
- 15:16example well, there's many examples that I could think of,
- 15:19but I I think my mind jumps to the time where my
- 15:23husband and I really heard from the Lord about
- 15:27quitting our jobs that we really loved in in ministry, and
- 15:40to let go of something that you actually really enjoy that gives
- 15:44life and purpose, and yet he's called you into something deeper,
- 15:48That was a test of faith for me to not know what I
- 15:52was jumping into. It's not like we had Care Impact on the back
- 15:56burner, a a glossy brochure in the making. We didn't know
- 15:59what it was that we were jumping into when traveling across
- 16:03Canada, just god chasing it and seeing what is this that we were to
- 16:07do and, seeing how god clearly revealed
- 16:10himself through that. Not only that, but the practicality of
- 16:14giving up 2 incomes when you're raising a family, it took
- 16:18active faith and just trusting in god. But I've learned through
- 16:22that. I've grown through that, and I often refer to it because now
- 16:26it gives me more boldness to do other crazy things. When god says it, he
- 16:29provides and and how he's been so faithful. Can you believe it? It's been 10
- 16:33years since we we've started this journey with Care Impact,
- 16:36and god has been so faithful in in adding people
- 16:40to our team and in our resources. I just can't describe
- 16:44how faithful he has been, but, I definitely was
- 16:47tested because Harold and I are not that type of
- 16:51spontaneous people to just simply do that. But
- 16:55Especially with the family. Yeah. And it it tests me actually now
- 16:59as I do a lot of fundraising and, and needing to to bring in
- 17:03resources to add to our team. The faith journey for me
- 17:06right now is that it's not only my family on the line. I
- 17:10have other people's families that are dependent on none of us
- 17:14are here, I don't think, for the money, but we are
- 17:18dependent on Care Impact flourishing so
- 17:21that we can provide for our family and do the work that god has called
- 17:25for us. So so now I feel a different kind of weight as I
- 17:29look at how do I support and grow our team as we have
- 17:32more positions to come that need filling in. So I'm like, k. You want
- 17:36this to happen? So we create the job description and the god stories that
- 17:40come out. You're one of those examples that that really was a
- 17:44response to to prayer and you heard God's voice and,
- 17:48we keep growing that way. Amen. Alright. We haven't
- 17:51had any 5 100 yet. Even though when I put these questions together, I
- 17:55didn't put them in any particular order of difficulty.
- 17:59I could tell. It's pretty random. But
- 18:03let's go fun and whimsy again. We'll go for 500.
- 18:07Fun and whimsy for 500, it is. If you could swap
- 18:11lives with any fictional character for a day, who would it be?
- 18:15Well, that is a hard one though. I would say Indiana Jones
- 18:19because it's my favorite movie. But Indiana Jones. Yeah. He's
- 18:23a true inspiration. But, you know, I tried
- 18:27creating whips as a kid so I can swing from things, and it it always
- 18:30ends a disaster. So, like, I you try to swing
- 18:34and you fall on your back. It doesn't work the same way. Well, I'm I'm
- 18:37gonna go for, fun and whimsy for 200, please. Oh,
- 18:41I like this question. If you can only eat one food
- 18:45for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- 18:48Oh, this is a great question. I have
- 18:52different genres of food depending on who's the cook
- 18:56is maybe a a curve in in that answer.
- 19:00But I would have to say if they were a good Mennonite cook, I would
- 19:04want varenikiya and schmonfat for the rest of my life. Like, I
- 19:08could live on that. I would probably die sooner too because of a heart attack,
- 19:12but it would be vranikil, which is like Mennonite pierogis
- 19:15with the the cottage cheese in there and then the cream gravy.
- 19:19Oh my goodness. I could eat that. If I was in Korea, it would be
- 19:22dolsup bibimbap. If I was in Ethiopia, it would be
- 19:26definitely injera and what? A good cup of coffee.
- 19:29Yeah. Depends which country, but, right now, I'm feeling the
- 19:33varenikiya. If that sounds good to our listeners, I think we
- 19:37still might have some recipe books out there available
- 19:41to make it My mom's recipe, she has it in the cookbook.
- 19:46Let me know. Alright. Let's do,
- 19:50would you rather for 100?
- 19:54Would you rather for 100? Would you rather fundraise
- 19:57or speak at a conference? There were 2 things
- 20:01that I don't like doing.
- 20:052 things that I do. Honestly, I think I'd
- 20:09rather speak at a conference. I don't like the stage very much,
- 20:12but maybe it's a control thing. I have control over
- 20:16what I say at a conference, but I don't have control on whether
- 20:20someone gives or donates. And convincing
- 20:23people is not True. Is not a fun thing. It's
- 20:27just easier to speak for. I think I think fundraising, I feel a
- 20:31little more vulnerable there than if I'm speaking. I can
- 20:34be vulnerable from the stage. No problem. But
- 20:38fundraising, I think that's a Canadian thing too. It means that we
- 20:42need other people to join us, and there's, it requires
- 20:46a dose of humility to and I think there's good ways of doing it.
- 20:50You do fundraising. I do fundraising. But,
- 20:53it's not easy when we ask for money. We but we do
- 20:57want partnership for sure. It's my turn. Right? So I'm
- 21:01gonna do would you rather for 200, please?
- 21:05Would you rather participate in a lively Sunday church service
- 21:09or a quiet spiritual retreat in nature? That's
- 21:13an easy one. Easy for you. See,
- 21:17I I like the omnipresence. I'd wanna do both. I
- 21:20do like both, but right now,
- 21:24I could definitely go for this quiet spiritual retreat in
- 21:27nature. I'm an extrovert, but I deeply love
- 21:31nature and just being in the quiet, maybe because I live in a lively
- 21:35household and work networking with people all day. So
- 21:39right now, I'm feeling the retreat in nature, definitely.
- 21:43Being by myself. Is that weird as an extrovert? I
- 21:47like I could really hermit. I did that for holidays this last
- 21:50year. I I had a silent retreat in Cuba,
- 21:55with loud Cuban music, but it was all by myself. It was wonderful.
- 21:59Okay. Your turn, Johan. What what's it gonna be? Let's keep it
- 22:03rolling. Learning for 400. Okay. This is fun. A
- 22:06rich uncle just offered to pay for a learning experience.
- 22:10K. You should get him to, support you. What is one thing
- 22:14that you would love to learn if he paid for it?
- 22:18How to easily fundraise?
- 22:21No. How to hire a fundraiser?
- 22:25I mean, I've always wanted to take the
- 22:29podcast engineering course. I'm pretty good at what I do. I'm a
- 22:33professional. Engineer. But if you Do you like to
- 22:36do more? Yeah. Act actually, you know what? I would I would say
- 22:40maybe business because it's the business side of things which I'm
- 22:44kind of learning on my own. Mhmm. And with
- 22:48the enhancements with AI and all this stuff, I like, you
- 22:51gotta learn how to pivot in this business pretty quickly too.
- 22:55So probably running the business side of things. I mean,
- 22:58I I only do it part time as just
- 23:02to supplement my work at Care Impact, but it's still something I wanna get
- 23:06better at. So k. Well, now that we're on the learning
- 23:09theme, I'm gonna stick with that column as well. I'm gonna do learning for
- 23:13100, please. What is one hobby you would love
- 23:17to learn to do? Oh, gee. This is hard, actually, because my husband
- 23:21Harold always tells me I need to find a hobby, and I always tell him,
- 23:25like, well, Care Impact is my hobby. I love doing this. I wake up every
- 23:28day thinking, wow. I get to do this for a job, but this should be
- 23:31really a 500 question for me because sometimes I
- 23:35don't see the point of a hobby. I'm not judging people who have them,
- 23:39but, I think I'd like to learn how to fly a plane, actually.
- 23:43So if I had a hobby that I could go on a Saturday and
- 23:47just fly around somewhere, that would be really good.
- 23:50And that would be actually very practical too. See, every hobby has to have some
- 23:54practicality with me of, like, it could get me places too. Right?
- 23:58I could, It's you wanting to be omnipresent. Yeah. Yeah.
- 24:01It's it's helping me towards a bigger goal. Yeah. So flying
- 24:05a plane. Alright. Faith and purpose for 400.
- 24:09Can you share a moment when you felt a sense of fulfillment
- 24:14in living out your purpose? Well, that's that
- 24:17should be 1,000. That's a tough one. Yeah. That's a that's a
- 24:21deep one. I hope that's how I
- 24:25feel when I meet the Lord. Mhmm.
- 24:29That I fulfilled the purpose in bringing this glory. Answer.
- 24:33Jesus is the answer? I'm
- 24:36gonna close off faith and purpose. We have one question
- 24:40left for 5 100. So faith and purpose for 500, please.
- 24:45Who or what inspires you to keep going when things get
- 24:49tough besides Kathy?
- 24:53Yes. She she is an inspiration for me doing all of my admin, which is
- 24:57great. No. This one's easy, actually. Who or what inspires
- 25:01you? I would say the who inspires me to keep going
- 25:04other than the obvious, Jesus, because he got me on this path to begin
- 25:08with. But I have to say the children in my life
- 25:12and those in my community who are in
- 25:15hard places, hands down, they inspire me to keep
- 25:19going when things get tough because it's not easy helping the church
- 25:23and social services and all of these sectors work together and come
- 25:27up with a new way of moving forward in in connecting and equipping
- 25:31the church. Church can be a hard space sometimes to
- 25:35navigate in helping them being effective in community.
- 25:39And when things get really tough, I have to say, but who is this
- 25:43for? I have to say it's worth it when
- 25:46community is created and and those that are marginalized
- 25:50or in hard places get supported because we had some of
- 25:54those tough conversations, had those tough faith moments, and,
- 25:58they're definitely worth it. That justice side of me goes.
- 26:02Awesome. Well, I think we're running out of time for this first episode,
- 26:06so we might just have to skip the rest of these questions. Right?
- 26:10What do you think? Well, we've got more questions for next episode. So
- 26:14let's save some of them. Absolutely. Okay. So for next
- 26:17episode, our categories, they're gonna be we're gonna do another
- 26:21would you rather. We'll do life reflections. We'll do
- 26:24questions on character and community and
- 26:28connection. So still some fun ones to come.
- 26:32Make sure you tune in next week to check those out. And, again, go to
- 26:35our website journey with care dot ca. I think I'm gonna put a big button
- 26:39on there or banner that says send in a question so that you can get
- 26:43those in before April 13th, I think we said, for that episode
- 26:46in a in a few weeks. So next week, we're gonna do part 2 of
- 26:50this one. Get to know us a little bit better. But before that, I wanna
- 26:54do a rapid fire with you, Wendy. You you can do a rapid fire
- 26:57with me next week. For me? But what Okay. Fine. I'm on the hot
- 27:01seat. So quick, really short answers, but here
- 27:05we go. Dogs, cats, or fish? Dogs and cats.
- 27:09Can I say 2? Nope. Gotta pick 1.
- 27:13Caramel and cappuccino. Forgive me, but I'm gonna choose cream, the our dog.
- 27:17K. Beach vacation or mountain retreat?
- 27:21Mountain retreat. Coffee or tea?
- 27:25Definitely coffee. A nod to the Enneagram.
- 27:29Favorite ice cream flavor? Oh, I would
- 27:32probably go with the dark chocolate with a tons of toppings
- 27:36and, a little scoop of everything.
- 27:39Early bird or night owl? Both. Can
- 27:43I say both? Because I stay up late and I get up early. That's how
- 27:47I go. You just don't sleep. Comedy or drama?
- 27:51I'm gonna go with drama because comedy isn't always very funny. And you
- 27:55always say you don't like drama. I don't like drama, but I like
- 27:59you know what? I like Korean drama. Some of them. Okay.
- 28:03Okay. That's weird. I'm married to Korean. He he
- 28:06gives me my own k drama. Pancakes or
- 28:10waffles? Waffles with my mom's white
- 28:14pudding sauce on top. Also in the recipe book, I
- 28:18believe. It's also in the recipe book. I'm a big fan of all
- 28:21her her cooking. Okay. Bacon or sausage?
- 28:26They're both unhealthy, but if it's farmer sausage, I'm Mennonite through
- 28:30and through, so farmer sausage. Favorite season of the year?
- 28:34Summer. Books or movies? Books.
- 28:38I love my books. 5 at a time. Would you rather travel to the
- 28:42past or the future? Definitely the future.
- 28:46Past is history. Sunrise or sunset?
- 28:49I think a sunset. Pizza.
- 28:53Pineapple or no pineapple? I love pineapple on
- 28:57my pizza. I don't care if people judge me for it, but it tastes so
- 29:00good. Sweet or savory snacks?
- 29:04Both. If I had to choose, I probably would
- 29:07go towards the sweet in the
- 29:11chocolate ice cream area. Would you rather have the
- 29:14ability to fly or be invisible? Superpowers again. Fly.
- 29:18That'd be fun. It helped me in my omnipresence. Summer or
- 29:22Winter Olympics? Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:25I'm there for the food. Either. Either is fine. I don't mind either. I I
- 29:29do watch. Okay. Camping or glamping?
- 29:34Well, if it was just up to me, it would be camping. So I like
- 29:37to go camping with Janet who's on our team, also my cousin, and
- 29:41we go camping camping. My family is not going
- 29:45even glamping. I tried that, so I I ain't gonna stick with camping.
- 29:49Alright. Last one. Would you rather have a rewind button or a
- 29:53pause button? I would go with pause
- 29:57because I think we make good life choices and we can breathe when we
- 30:00pause, but rewind its its history. We can learn from it. I I
- 30:04don't like to live in regret. Alright. That's the last of our
- 30:07questions. So part 2 next week, again, head over to
- 30:11journey with care dotca. Send in your questions because we need
- 30:15we need some. We look forward to hearing from you. I hope you've
- 30:19had fun with us. That or you can have an episode of Complete Silence and
- 30:23that would be you can use it as reflective time. Hey. I also
- 30:26wanted to remind our listeners, actually, if you head to the website, you can get
- 30:30Journey with Prayer a few days early, the same time our episode
- 30:34releases. So if that's something that you want, head over to
