State limits local interaction with feds The Nelsonville Village Board on July 15 approved a resolution supporting a new state law that prohibits municipalities from sharing residents' personal information with federal immigration officials without a judicial warrant. The prohibition is one of several immigration-related restrictions placed on cities, towns, villages and school districts in the 2026-27 budget signed in May by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
