- 0:29Speaker 1: For you and maybe decide to your Aham, it's time

- 0:43Speaker 1: She's Reverend doctor Adrian Booth Johnson. And the one of
- 0:46Speaker 1: the things we don't talk about a lot of things.
- 0:48Speaker 1: One of the things that you're doing that's really noteworth
- 0:50Speaker 1: is that you've created over three hundred and twenty five
- 0:53Speaker 1: That's right, women entrepreneurs in Ghana, West Africa as please,
- 0:56Speaker 1: Welcome to Money Making Conversation Master Class. Reverend Doctor Adrian
- 1:00Speaker 1: Booth Johnson.
- 1:00Speaker 2: How you doing.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I'm blessed.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm blessed in hoighly favored should I should I do
- 1:04Speaker 1: doctor Johnson of Reverend Johnson?
- 1:06Speaker 3: How about Reverend John's.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna ride off that Reverend John's, which I'm
- 1:09Speaker 1: comfortable with saying because of the fact that, you know,
- 1:12Speaker 1: a friend of mine at the studio brought some information
- 1:15Speaker 1: about you to me and said, Raean, she'll be a
- 1:17Speaker 1: great guest.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Good And.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Why are you doing something? And God, where are you from?
- 1:25Speaker 4: I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. My daddy was in
- 1:28Speaker 4: the Navy for twenty five years whatever, and he graduated
- 1:31Speaker 4: from Norfolk State University, and my mama went to Saint
- 1:35Speaker 4: Paul's College hbc US and we moved to Louisville, Kentucky.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Daddy became an internal revenue agent.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I don't know what was he was there people like you.
- 1:43Speaker 4: No, no, no. If you're doing right, he did. But
- 1:47Speaker 4: if you're doing wrong, no, well great. So I'm from
- 1:50Speaker 4: Harris Creek, Kentucky.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Harris Creek here, little Kentucky.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I tried to drop it out something.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And then so so so you you was in Kentucky? Ye,
- 2:01Speaker 1: what type of life did they leave for you? Did
- 2:03Speaker 1: you do education there or what happened?
- 2:05Speaker 4: So you know, if you want to make God laugh.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Tell them what your plans are. So my plans I
- 2:10Speaker 4: was running track for Mayl High School. I thought I
- 2:12Speaker 4: was gonna go to Tennessee and I run for the
- 2:14Speaker 4: Tiger bells. But instead I got pregnant, seventeen pregnant. So
- 2:19Speaker 4: my daddy was into education. He said, well, they put
- 2:21Speaker 4: you out of day school back in the day, in
- 2:24Speaker 4: nineteen sixty nine, they put you out of day school.
- 2:25Speaker 4: So I went to night school, parent's trade school, got
- 2:28Speaker 4: a GED. But I always dreamed of going to Africa,
- 2:31Speaker 4: and so I said, God, I don't know how you're
- 2:33Speaker 4: going to do this with a ged, but okay, but.
- 2:35Speaker 2: You always dream of going to Africa.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I always dreamed of going to Africa.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You know, it's funny.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I for some reason, I always dreamed of working offshore,
- 2:44Speaker 1: and that came true. I did work off shore eighty
- 2:46Speaker 1: five miles out in the Gulf. And because I was
- 2:49Speaker 1: a Jaques Cousteau fan, so I got that Jaques Cousta
- 2:53Speaker 1: got me off eighty five miles out in the golf.
- 2:55Speaker 2: What got you to Africa?
- 2:57Speaker 4: I can't tell you that it was a TV show
- 2:59Speaker 4: or anything. Maybe it was daddy being in navy traveling
- 3:02Speaker 4: coming home with all these great and wonderful gifts from
- 3:05Speaker 4: going these far away places. I just always wanted to
- 3:08Speaker 4: go to Africa. But I also I know the three p's.
- 3:11Speaker 4: You got to know what your passion is so you'll
- 3:13Speaker 4: know what your purpose is and then persevere. My passion
- 3:17Speaker 4: is helping women, helping women in Africa, and so that's
- 3:20Speaker 4: what I do. That that was my passion and that
- 3:23Speaker 4: is my purpose in life. So I said, God, what
- 3:26Speaker 4: do you need to do? So God said, with that
- 3:28Speaker 4: GED and I'm married seventeen divorced at twenty two. Well
- 3:35Speaker 4: that okay, So it's just billing out son, I'm a
- 3:38Speaker 4: single mom. I'm a single mom, and I'm just grinding
- 3:41Speaker 4: and GED with a GED divorce and divorce.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:45Speaker 4: So I started as a secretary and I saw where
- 3:47Speaker 4: my boss was always going to lunch, and I said,
- 3:49Speaker 4: wait a minute, you going to lunch. And the only
- 3:51Speaker 4: reason why you going to lunch and I'm sitting there
- 3:52Speaker 4: typing up your papers is because you got a college degree.
- 3:55Speaker 4: And I got a GED. I grabbed my purse. He said,
- 3:57Speaker 4: where you going, Adrian? I said, I'm going to college.
- 4:00Speaker 4: And so that's when I went to I went to
- 4:02Speaker 4: community college first because I didn't have the confidence in myself.
- 4:05Speaker 4: So I went to Jefferson Community College got my socials degree,
- 4:08Speaker 4: and then I went to University of Louis who graduated
- 4:10Speaker 4: for the School of Business. And I said, Bill, you
- 4:13Speaker 4: stick with me. We're gonna go to the moon. We
- 4:15Speaker 4: just might land on a star.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Now. So wow, that's right.
- 4:20Speaker 1: There is inspiring, Okay, because we've got to build a story. Okay,
- 4:23Speaker 1: seventeen seventeen, Mom got married, got married. You know, back
- 4:28Speaker 1: then people get married just just a reputation. It's a
- 4:30Speaker 1: clean up of reputation. Yeah, it's a pregnancy. They're gonna
- 4:33Speaker 1: be a wedding, right, marriage over with ged ged And
- 4:37Speaker 1: then you sitting there her being a secretary secretary and
- 4:39Speaker 1: then you typist, and you said, look, I'm I'm gonna
- 4:43Speaker 1: carve out some time to change my life.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going for it.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I said, for me to do what God wants me
- 4:49Speaker 4: to do, and I for me to get to Africa,
- 4:51Speaker 4: for me to have my son go to college and
- 4:53Speaker 4: be somebody. I got to set the tone. I got
- 4:57Speaker 4: to pave the way, and other women have gone and
- 5:00Speaker 4: pay the way ahead of me. I got to go
- 5:02Speaker 4: because I got to go help the women in Africa.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So so now we we got our degree. Business got So
- 5:08Speaker 1: I'm assuming you're not a clerk typist anymore. No, I
- 5:12Speaker 1: got clerk type is working for me. So where were
- 5:15Speaker 1: you working at that time?
- 5:16Speaker 4: I went to work for Westinghouse Newklean Energy in Pittsburgh. Okay,
- 5:19Speaker 4: so Bill and I went to Pittsburgh. We left Pittsburgh,
- 5:22Speaker 4: a friend of mine, Darnell Johnson, told me about a
- 5:24Speaker 4: job with US Department of Energy. They were looking for
- 5:27Speaker 4: black women in energy. I was like, that's me, right.
- 5:31Speaker 4: I was at Western House. I was a project matter.
- 5:37Speaker 4: I said, that's me. I went to Washington, d C.
- 5:40Speaker 4: US Department of Energy. I was in solar energy. I said,
- 5:42Speaker 4: come on, Bill, We're going to Washington DC. Bill said, Mama, great,
- 5:46Speaker 4: because you know what we got to Washington. It was
- 5:49Speaker 4: all single women. I found a village of professional women
- 5:52Speaker 4: and we all had children, and so we just helped
- 5:55Speaker 4: each other. We helped raise our sons.
- 5:57Speaker 2: That this is a beautiful story.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And I'm smiled because you you exude that that love
- 6:04Speaker 1: that I can do it, and then your story is
- 6:06Speaker 1: so simple, but it's so honest.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I'm saying that's that's the see.
- 6:09Speaker 1: A lot of people tell their story and I go, now, no,
- 6:11Speaker 1: you missed something, but I want to get to the
- 6:13Speaker 1: next story with you. Okay, So so when did you
- 6:16Speaker 1: your resumes said Coca Cola.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yes, So when did you get to Coca Cola?
- 6:19Speaker 4: Well, I was working for the by then I left
- 6:22Speaker 4: the Department of Energy federal government, went to local government.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I was at DC Public Schools. But I always wanted to,
- 6:28Speaker 4: you know, work in corporate America. So one of my
- 6:30Speaker 4: girlfriends told me about that Ed Washington was hiring somebody.
- 6:34Speaker 4: There was a group out of Boston called New Audition
- 6:36Speaker 4: was just starting and they were coming from Boston, and
- 6:38Speaker 4: she said they look for somebody to hire them.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I said, I'm the woman for the job. So by
- 6:42Speaker 3: the daytime I.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Was working at DC Public Schools and in the evening
- 6:46Speaker 4: I was Adrian.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I was a public relations firm.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Ed Washington call said I need somebody to do a
- 6:52Speaker 4: promotion for this group New Addition. I said, okay, great,
- 6:55Speaker 4: I'm a woman for the job.
- 6:57Speaker 3: He hired me. I did the promotion.
- 7:00Speaker 4: A year later, he called me, he said, Adrian, he said,
- 7:02Speaker 4: would you like to go to work at cocoa cola.
- 7:03Speaker 4: I said, if you're not joking, listen to take me
- 7:06Speaker 4: about ten minutes to find my boss here the school system,
- 7:09Speaker 4: about five minutes to tell me where you out in
- 7:11Speaker 4: Silver Spring, Maryland? What about fifteen? What about twenty minute drive?
- 7:14Speaker 4: What is it one o'clock? I can start at three
- 7:16Speaker 4: this afternoon.
- 7:19Speaker 1: You are so engaging, so's you're the job for me.
- 7:24Speaker 2: That's when you look in the mirror and you.
- 7:26Speaker 1: What I I always talk about people who are fear change. Yes,
- 7:30Speaker 1: they fear, they are known, right, that is not part
- 7:33Speaker 1: of your.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Mom because I have God in my life. So when
- 7:35Speaker 4: you have fear, then you don't have faith. And if
- 7:38Speaker 4: you got faith, then you don't have fear. So I
- 7:42Speaker 4: call it a dark room religion. When I walk into
- 7:46Speaker 4: a dark room, I don't look for a light because
- 7:48Speaker 4: I know God is there. So when God tells me
- 7:50Speaker 4: to go preach in Kenya, he said, I got a
- 7:53Speaker 4: message for the women people in Kenya. I tell my husband.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I said, look, I got to run to Kenya this weekend.
- 7:58Speaker 4: He said, well, we don't know anybody in Nairobia. I said,
- 8:00Speaker 4: I know. But then me called Delta. I'm getting ready
- 8:02Speaker 4: to go to Nayloba this weekend. God gave me a
- 8:04Speaker 4: message to give and I go. I traveled Africa by myself.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Now, now when you when you went to the whole process,
- 8:11Speaker 1: because we I wanted to see when you were because
- 8:13Speaker 1: you said early on Africa was the.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Vision for Africa? Okay, Now when did then in.
- 8:19Speaker 1: The steps because of your life? When did you first
- 8:21Speaker 1: go to Africa?
- 8:22Speaker 4: I went to Africa in two thousand and one. My
- 8:24Speaker 4: niece Adria Green was twenty two years ago. Three years ago,
- 8:29Speaker 4: Adria was doing some type of study of broad program
- 8:31Speaker 4: something and she was at Wellesley College and Pearline. My
- 8:34Speaker 4: sister call and said, let's go to South Africa. Adriana
- 8:37Speaker 4: is there. I was like, Adria is named after me.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I'm out going.
- 8:41Speaker 3: We went to South Africa, fell in love with it.
- 8:43Speaker 2: From too far to South Africa.
- 8:45Speaker 3: We went to a durban South Africa.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Been there. Now, I'm gonna tell you something. You know,
- 8:49Speaker 1: because you have to go through Johannesburg and then connecting
- 8:53Speaker 1: you drive down and so uh and uh. When I
- 8:56Speaker 1: was doing Steve hard Morning Show, they asked us to
- 9:00Speaker 1: broadcasting Durban and for the life of me, and we're
- 9:03Speaker 1: talking about two thousand and eight something like that. For
- 9:07Speaker 1: the life of me, I could not wrap my head
- 9:09Speaker 1: around that there was the technology there in durbing to broadcasts.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I'm talking about.
- 9:16Speaker 1: That's how simple My mind had been dumbed down to
- 9:18Speaker 1: the stereotypes of technology and Africa period, let alone South
- 9:23Speaker 1: Africa and also South Africa apartheid. So I was dealing
- 9:27Speaker 1: with a lot of confusion and so and finally when
- 9:30Speaker 1: I went over there, I was ashamed because it was
- 9:33Speaker 1: like I landed into Atlanta. Yes road, smooth car, new
- 9:37Speaker 1: car dealerships, everything was beautiful, black people running things. I
- 9:41Speaker 1: was really taken aback. But of course you've been to Africa,
- 9:44Speaker 1: You've dealt with these stereo types that I'm supposed to
- 9:47Speaker 1: be a person, a learned person, educated person, a liberal person.
- 9:51Speaker 1: But still I was saddled with the stereotypes. That's a problem, correct.
- 9:56Speaker 3: It's a problem for people that don't go.
- 9:58Speaker 4: See I started in two thousand one and I've been
- 10:00Speaker 4: going to Africa every year since two thousand and one.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I go.
- 10:04Speaker 4: So I've created women empowerment programs in Durban and South Africa,
- 10:08Speaker 4: Liberia and Monrovia, Liberia, and now I'm in Ghana and
- 10:13Speaker 4: Sarah Leone and I'm on my way to Mozambique in Tanzania. So, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 4: you can't watch what TV says. See, you got to
- 10:21Speaker 4: go for yourself. So you have to. I say, you
- 10:24Speaker 4: have to inspect what you expect, right.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And so but you but you can. I say, you're unique,
- 10:31Speaker 1: You're an inspiration. You you because that's you're You're not afraid. Now, know,
- 10:37Speaker 1: if an opportunity to comes your way, you're gonna raise
- 10:39Speaker 1: your hand.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You told your son, Bill, let's go.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And your son had to be one of the most
- 10:45Speaker 1: motivated individuals because he's seen motivation. Motivation is his mama.
- 10:49Speaker 1: That's right, his mama, you know, you know, walk through
- 10:52Speaker 1: a brick wall is his mama.
- 10:53Speaker 4: That's Bill Green knows that Bill went Howard University's Alpha.
- 10:57Speaker 4: So I had my SNI I'm an Aka. Bill was seventeen,
- 11:01Speaker 4: and then I prayed to God. I said, God, look
- 11:03Speaker 4: I'm getting old. I want to get married again. I
- 11:05Speaker 4: want to have another baby twenty five years later to
- 11:08Speaker 4: see because God does answer your prayer.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I met him in the airport.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Joe Johnson attorney Joe Johnson out of Detroit, Michigan and
- 11:15Speaker 4: at forty three I had another baby, Jala Johnson. So
- 11:18Speaker 4: now I have a fifty five year old and I
- 11:20Speaker 4: got a thirty year old. I love man in Africa.
- 11:24Speaker 4: When I go, they say, here comes Granny, Reverend Granny.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Now with that being said, Reverend Granny, okay, we go
- 11:33Speaker 1: stick with now you have this time in front of
- 11:34Speaker 1: Reverend Reverend doctor Granny.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Adrian Booth Jones.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Okay, please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with
- 11:43Speaker 5: more money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money
- 11:49Speaker 5: Making Conversations master Class hosted by Rashaan MacDonald. Money Making
- 11:54Speaker 5: Conversations Masterclass continues online at Moneymakingconversations dot com and follow
- 11:59Speaker 5: My Making Conversations Masterclass on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- 12:05Speaker 1: The whole program that I talked about earlier and I
- 12:08Speaker 1: want to get into it before the break of Women
- 12:12Speaker 1: Entrepreneurs that's right in Ghana, West Africa.
- 12:14Speaker 2: What is that all about?
- 12:16Speaker 4: So it's start of Joe and I bought a thousand
- 12:19Speaker 4: reusable sanitary paths because we know the period poverty is
- 12:22Speaker 4: an issue. So we bought a thousand reusable sanitary pads.
- 12:25Speaker 4: We took them to London to give them a jalo
- 12:27Speaker 4: while she was at the London School of Economics, said,
- 12:28Speaker 4: jaale go do a feasibilities to study in Ghana. See
- 12:31Speaker 4: if that really is a need. Jala's my daughter.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:34Speaker 4: So Jala's came back. She said, Mama, they really need
- 12:37Speaker 4: the pads. So we decided instead of giving them fish,
- 12:40Speaker 4: let's teach them how to fish. So instead of giving
- 12:42Speaker 4: a fish, we created women entrepreneurs who make and sell
- 12:45Speaker 4: reusable sanitary pads. Because what we found is that ninety
- 12:48Speaker 4: five percent of the girls and living in villages in
- 12:51Speaker 4: Ghana miss twenty percent of the of the school of
- 12:54Speaker 4: being out of school due to lack of access to
- 12:56Speaker 4: sanitary pads. So now they don't have to because now
- 12:59Speaker 4: my three hundred and twenty five women are making paths
- 13:02Speaker 4: so girls can go to school.
- 13:04Speaker 1: So now to get to that point, you had to
- 13:06Speaker 1: create structure. Yes, okay, and you in the country. Okay,
- 13:09Speaker 1: how did that get set up?
- 13:11Speaker 4: So I set it up by creator. You know, God
- 13:14Speaker 4: sends people. Now he gives you the vision. He will
- 13:17Speaker 4: give you the provision. So I have a team over there,
- 13:19Speaker 4: Ellen Aduba and Jennifer Moffatt. So I have a team
- 13:22Speaker 4: on the ground, team who does things, and I do
- 13:25Speaker 4: the fundraising. So I'm gonna raise the funds here in
- 13:27Speaker 4: America and Ellen and Jennifer we go through the churches.
- 13:30Speaker 4: So we'll go to They'll go to a village and say,
- 13:32Speaker 4: pick ten women who've done one of two things. Either
- 13:35Speaker 4: they're asking God for a miracle or they're asking God
- 13:38Speaker 4: for a second chance. If they're doing one of those,
- 13:40Speaker 4: they can be in my Woey bra program and Woey
- 13:42Speaker 4: bra in America. When you say I'm on my period,
- 13:45Speaker 4: in Africa, they say I'm on my woey bra h.
- 13:48Speaker 4: So that's how we started.
- 13:49Speaker 2: The name of the business.
- 13:51Speaker 1: That's the name of the WOA nonprofit woe Ye Bra
- 13:54Speaker 1: Wye BRR.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Okay, by now you're not from the country, so I
- 13:59Speaker 4: probably ain't staying it, but.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I want everybody to hear because of the fact that
- 14:02Speaker 1: you're doing something, and you're doing something you know you
- 14:05Speaker 1: know what. Let's say you know walk, you talk, you know,
- 14:08Speaker 1: you walk, your fly because you're flying over there and
- 14:11Speaker 1: making it every year. When we come back, we're gonna
- 14:13Speaker 1: continue this conversation with Granny, Reverend doctor Granny who Adrian
- 14:20Speaker 1: Booth justin making a difference, roll your broad Foundation, Amen,
- 14:25Speaker 1: speaking of Reverend doctor Adrian Booth Johnson aka Granny, where
- 14:30Speaker 1: she goes over to Africa. Over here, she's just my
- 14:32Speaker 1: friend because she's making a difference. And when you make
- 14:35Speaker 1: a difference some place else, that means you're making a
- 14:37Speaker 1: difference where you are. That's on a regular basis. In
- 14:39Speaker 1: this case, three hundred and twenty five women have become
- 14:42Speaker 1: entrepreneurs in Ghana, West Africa. Now, when you was at
- 14:46Speaker 1: Coca Cola, that's right, with any programs, any relationships you created,
- 14:52Speaker 1: and when you exited that you took back over to Africa.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Talk about your exit plan.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Well, Coca Cola was a great company to work for,
- 14:58Speaker 4: and a lot of the marketing skills I learned, I
- 15:01Speaker 4: now teach them to my three hundred and twenty five women.
- 15:04Speaker 4: So I teach them marketing sales, customer service. I teach
- 15:08Speaker 4: them financial literacy because most of my women are uneducated,
- 15:12Speaker 4: and so I teach them. And that's why I go
- 15:14Speaker 4: twice a year. I go once just to teach them.
- 15:17Speaker 4: I go the next time to go and train more women.
- 15:20Speaker 4: So I gather more money, collect more money, and I
- 15:23Speaker 4: go back and forth. Because like I said, if you
- 15:25Speaker 4: want to do you don't ever want to send money
- 15:27Speaker 4: to a country that you have gone. You have to
- 15:29Speaker 4: inspect what you expect, right, and that's what I do.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And so by going there, there's a physical presence, which
- 15:34Speaker 1: means creates accountability. That's right, that's accountability. And so when
- 15:37Speaker 1: you go there, so have you taken people or taking
- 15:41Speaker 1: students or taking individuals from HBCUs over there with you
- 15:44Speaker 1: just to see this experience.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Or its culture.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Well, the last promotion I was able to help execute
- 15:50Speaker 4: for the Coco Cola company was called the Open Happiness
- 15:52Speaker 4: Store and we took twenty one HBCUs students to South
- 15:55Speaker 4: Africa for the World Cup in twenty ten.
- 15:58Speaker 3: And we took but also it just.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Went you can say, mcdot, anybody gonna blink it out.
- 16:08Speaker 1: We gotta slow down.
- 16:11Speaker 3: It was a blessing.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And so when you went over there with him being
- 16:14Speaker 1: over there, right, and I'm mistaken he has African roots.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Right, he does.
- 16:19Speaker 4: So he went and a lot of the twenty one
- 16:21Speaker 4: students I still stay in touch with him now because
- 16:23Speaker 4: I teach them business etiquette, right, because it was it's
- 16:26Speaker 4: one thing like when you go for a job and
- 16:27Speaker 4: if you're there now, doctors lawyers. But when you go
- 16:30Speaker 4: for a job interview, when you go and try to,
- 16:32Speaker 4: you know, work in corporate America, there's certain things you
- 16:35Speaker 4: discussions you shouldn't have knowing about dining, how to order,
- 16:39Speaker 4: what to eat, where to sit at a corporate table.
- 16:41Speaker 4: So I do that now in Detroit, because I live
- 16:43Speaker 4: in Detroit, and so I do that now and I
- 16:45Speaker 4: teach that now like a cast Tech high school. I'm
- 16:48Speaker 4: working with girls there, teaching them about Woa Yebra. They
- 16:51Speaker 4: cut out the sanitary paths and when I go back,
- 16:53Speaker 4: I take them to Africa, so they have a connection.
- 16:56Speaker 4: And I did a zoom call thanks to the Detroit
- 16:59Speaker 4: Rotary Club. They sponsored it, and I did a zoom
- 17:01Speaker 4: call so that the girls that cut out the paths
- 17:03Speaker 4: get to see the girls in Ghana. So they are
- 17:05Speaker 4: now friends.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Wow.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Wow, maybe they will make that journey, that travel and
- 17:10Speaker 1: that cultural connections. Now, you know, let everybody know cast Tech,
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm very familiar. Well, when I did the Hoodie Awards,
- 17:17Speaker 1: they won best high school every year in the country
- 17:20Speaker 1: and for sixteen years, I believe they won fourteen times.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And so casts take very prominent high school in the
- 17:27Speaker 1: city of Detroit. And now when you talk about what
- 17:31Speaker 1: you're doing entrepreneurship, leadership. Let's go back to you, because
- 17:38Speaker 1: when I'm fascinated by your energy, I'm fascinated by people
- 17:44Speaker 1: hearing this, this motivational voice and you go.
- 17:49Speaker 2: We shout. I go twice a year, I go tright
- 17:51Speaker 2: to ye.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So you say that like you're going, like if we're
- 17:54Speaker 1: in Atlanta, you going from another neighborhood. But how many
- 17:57Speaker 1: what's that flight journey? What's the flight journey.
- 18:00Speaker 4: From Atlanta to uh Let's say a craw you sometimes
- 18:04Speaker 4: you have to fly through Amsterdam and stop switch planes,
- 18:06Speaker 4: or you go through New York. It's about ten hours,
- 18:08Speaker 4: twelve hour or something like that, fourteen hours. I don't
- 18:10Speaker 4: know something, and just do it.
- 18:13Speaker 3: You just do it.
- 18:13Speaker 4: You just see when God gives you something to do,
- 18:16Speaker 4: you have to do it. See people sometimes they hesitate
- 18:18Speaker 4: and they pull back. But if he gives you something
- 18:20Speaker 4: to do, so it's just like an Isaiah six eight
- 18:22Speaker 4: when he says, I heard the voice of the Lord.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I said, who will go for us? Whom shall I send?
- 18:28Speaker 4: And who will go for us? I raised my head,
- 18:30Speaker 4: I said send me, send me Lord. I go by myself.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I don't care well you raise your hand enough for
- 18:36Speaker 2: these jobs. Okay, you need a nuclear woman that you've.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Got me, I've got and so, and you know the
- 18:41Speaker 4: blessing is like people like the Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
- 18:44Speaker 4: One hundred and seventy of them went and I was
- 18:46Speaker 4: able to bring one hundred and twenty of my women,
- 18:49Speaker 4: and they trained them right, They taught them. One hundred
- 18:51Speaker 4: and seventy zadas. The aka's alpha capital Alphas. They help
- 18:55Speaker 4: sponsor me. I mean, it's just the Lynx. Oh my god,
- 18:58Speaker 4: the Lynks Incorporated. They help. So there are a lot
- 19:01Speaker 4: of people here. But what I need everybody now to
- 19:03Speaker 4: do is go right. You gotta go. You got to
- 19:06Speaker 4: step out of the boat, just like when Peter when
- 19:08Speaker 4: the disciples within the water and Jesus told him go
- 19:10Speaker 4: way out, and they saw Jesus coming out of water,
- 19:13Speaker 4: and only Peter said, Jesus, that's you. Let me come
- 19:16Speaker 4: out of the boat. I'm Peter led me out of
- 19:19Speaker 4: the boat. I'm going to be with him right now.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Now.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Hey, I'm ready to walk. I'm ready to walk. We
- 19:25Speaker 1: got two minutes? Is the fingure of two minutes?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Figure? And is there woe e bra Yes, what's the foundation.
- 19:33Speaker 2: That's right. Is there a foundation website?
- 19:35Speaker 3: Yes?
- 19:36Speaker 4: Well, our nonprofit is Infinity Global Empowerment. Well, Yeebra is
- 19:41Speaker 4: just one of our programs. So Wollyebra. Our website is www.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Dot Woe Yeebra w o y e b r a
- 19:49Speaker 4: dot org because it's the organizations, that's our website.
- 19:54Speaker 3: So you can go make donations there.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Right, and so the and so as we as we
- 19:59Speaker 1: leave one note of inspiration. You know, first of all,
- 20:03Speaker 1: we're trying to kill stereotypes. Yes, we're letting people know
- 20:07Speaker 1: that by effort and passion, yes, and love, Yes, that
- 20:12Speaker 1: you can take people quote unquote uneducated and turn them
- 20:14Speaker 1: into entrepreneurs. That's correct, and you use your lessons to
- 20:18Speaker 1: do that correct.
- 20:18Speaker 2: That's right.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Well, I want people, especially single moms, I want them
- 20:22Speaker 4: to know that sometimes you go to run and stuff,
- 20:24Speaker 4: it's just the bend on the road.
- 20:26Speaker 3: It's not the end of the road. You gotta stay positive.
- 20:29Speaker 4: And I want you to know this too, that the
- 20:31Speaker 4: question is not who is going to let you be successful,
- 20:35Speaker 4: but who is going to stop you?
- 20:38Speaker 2: M m mmmmmm. And you're a reverend the right red.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Because I say that because of the fact that I've
- 20:48Speaker 1: just been inspired with that because y'all didn't know what
- 20:50Speaker 1: she pointed the finger at me.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I would you know, I mean pulling out my pocket.
- 20:54Speaker 2: I could be to open the Bible because you're preaching
- 20:56Speaker 2: to me.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Because because you know, when I do this show, yeah,
- 21:00Speaker 1: money making Conversations master class. Right, you know, I'll tell
- 21:03Speaker 1: you I get it before thirty in the morning. This
- 21:05Speaker 1: is the last thing I do on Tuesday. And I
- 21:08Speaker 1: am exhausted. But and I'm exhausted when I say goodbye
- 21:13Speaker 1: because then when I'm talking to individuals like it, lets
- 21:15Speaker 1: me know you can.
- 21:17Speaker 4: See the God in me. And that's what you have
- 21:19Speaker 4: to understand. Sometimes when I'm in the village and villages
- 21:22Speaker 4: in Africa, the only God they see is the God
- 21:24Speaker 4: in me.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Wow. Now this is what you got to do, my
- 21:27Speaker 2: favorite's career. When the next time you go to.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Africa, I'm going in May and September.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Okay, September, before you go back on the show, I'm coming, Okay, cool.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I know if you always look at me off, I
- 21:37Speaker 1: ask you, we're sure you coming with me one time,
- 21:39Speaker 1: which means I gotta come. Okay, just person right here, Granny.
- 21:43Speaker 1: You don't tell her no, you know, it's not a negative. No,
- 21:46Speaker 1: she is telling you come see the right thing done
- 21:48Speaker 1: and you will help do it too. Thank you for
- 21:50Speaker 1: coming on Money Making Conversations master Class.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Bless you, Thank you for allowing me to be here.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Appreciate you.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And next week we're going to continue this journey. And
- 21:57Speaker 1: I thank everybody for listening because every time I bring
- 22:00Speaker 1: a guest, they changed my life. I got my gut
- 22:03Speaker 1: health right, I got my religious right because the reverendend
- 22:06Speaker 1: told me I'm doing some right things with my show.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Money Made Conversation Master Class. Talk to you all next week.
