- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm never gonna lie to you. The red wave was
- 0:02Speaker 1: not a red wave as it's been described by several
- 0:05Speaker 1: people I know well. It was a low tide. Election
- 0:08Speaker 1: night was more of a shock than it was exciting.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Republicans are, at least at this point this morning, favored
- 0:17Speaker 1: to take the House. The Senate is very very tight.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Why Democrats one in Colorado, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington State.
- 0:31Speaker 1: GOP had good wins in the Senate in North Carolina, Ohio,
- 0:37Speaker 1: in Florida. Then there's four states, so this is all
- 0:40Speaker 1: going to come down to It's gonna come down to Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and Alaska. The Dems are also ahead in Arizona. Let's
- 0:52Speaker 1: look at the map when it comes to where we
- 0:54Speaker 1: are right now. Republicans are at forty eight seats in
- 0:58Speaker 1: the Senate. Democrats are at forty eight seats in the Senate.
- 1:04Speaker 1: On the House side, there are sixty four seats left
- 1:07Speaker 1: in play. That is of seven o'clock am Central time.
- 1:13Speaker 1: These numbers will change, but there are sixty four House
- 1:16Speaker 1: seats left in play that the Democrats have one hundred
- 1:18Speaker 1: and seventy two seats, Republicans one hundred and ninety nine.
- 1:23Speaker 1: So let's look at the takeaway of pickups. In the House.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Democrats have flipped three seats from Republican to Democrat. Those
- 1:33Speaker 1: mostly are connected to redistricting where there were districts that
- 1:38Speaker 1: were changed, and that's why they were able to pick
- 1:41Speaker 1: up two of the three, not necessarily upsets. Want to
- 1:44Speaker 1: make that clear. Then you have Republicans that so far
- 1:49Speaker 1: I have flipped nine different seats in the House side.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You need two eighteen for the majority. In the House,
- 1:57Speaker 1: we sit at one ninety nine Republicans to one seventy
- 1:59Speaker 1: eight Democrats. What's shocking is where we are on the
- 2:03Speaker 1: Senate side. You have forty eight seats for the Democrats,
- 2:07Speaker 1: forty eight seats to the Republicans, and at this point,
- 2:11Speaker 1: the day after election day, right now, Democrats are the
- 2:15Speaker 1: ones that actually have picked up a seat in the Senate.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Let's talk about the biggest shock of the night, and
- 2:25Speaker 1: I think that's the only way that we can describe
- 2:27Speaker 1: what this is. Fetterman winning that race there over, Doctor
- 2:34Speaker 1: Oz tells you something significant about this election cycle. It
- 2:41Speaker 1: tells you that if you pick a bad candidate, you
- 2:44Speaker 1: might be able to get him through the midterms by
- 2:48Speaker 1: coming in and really getting people partisan. And what I'm
- 2:53Speaker 1: referencing is Donald Trump. Donald Trump wanted fetterman, and he
- 2:57Speaker 1: wanted to flex his muscles improve that he can turn
- 3:00Speaker 1: a guy that's not even willing to give up his
- 3:02Speaker 1: American citizenship unless or excuse me, his citizenship in another
- 3:07Speaker 1: country to solely be an American citizen. Unless he won
- 3:12Speaker 1: the Senate race, which is a problem. He wanted to
- 3:16Speaker 1: prove that he could get him over the finish line
- 3:17Speaker 1: in the primary, and he did it. Donald Trump's able
- 3:20Speaker 1: to pick candidates in primaries. The problem is he wasn't
- 3:24Speaker 1: able to get his candidates over the line in the
- 3:26Speaker 1: general election. He went to war with a Republican and
- 3:30Speaker 1: Colorado for example there, Yes, that was a problem, and
- 3:36Speaker 1: now the Democrats have control of Colorado. But the cautionary tale,
- 3:41Speaker 1: the takeaway from the night for me is the Doctor
- 3:43Speaker 1: Oz race. Just because you can get a guy to
- 3:48Speaker 1: win a primary doesn't mean he's gonna win a general.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Doctor Oz was a bad candidate. The other candidate that
- 3:55Speaker 1: ran against him in the primary, which barely lost It
- 3:57Speaker 1: was down to a handful of votes a thou and
- 4:00Speaker 1: votes in the state where there were millions of votes.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Casts I think clearly would have overwhelmingly beat Fetterman. But
- 4:07Speaker 1: Oz was a guy that did not excite Republicans. Why
- 4:11Speaker 1: because they just didn't trust him. They didn't think he
- 4:13Speaker 1: was very authentic. They thought he might be wolf in
- 4:16Speaker 1: sheep's clothes. The voters had major concerns over Oz because
- 4:22Speaker 1: they didn't believe he was a true conservative. Yes, he
- 4:27Speaker 1: got through the primary, but the fact that he couldn't
- 4:31Speaker 1: beat someone that was clearly mentally mentally incapacitated due to
- 4:35Speaker 1: the stroke. A guy that started off a debate by
- 4:39Speaker 1: saying goodnight in one maybe not one of the worst
- 4:44Speaker 1: debate I have ever seen in my entire life, tells
- 4:49Speaker 1: you that candidate's election is extremely important. Now, before I
- 4:54Speaker 1: get into more of this story, I want to say
- 4:55Speaker 1: thank you and tell you about our good friends at Turtlebox.

- 5:41Speaker 1: man in your life. If you want to blow them away,

- 5:54Speaker 1: code Ben. That's Turtlebox Audio. Turtlebox Audio dot Com used
- 6:00Speaker 1: the promo code Ben. There were other candidates, and we
- 6:05Speaker 1: saw this around the country that yes, you could get
- 6:08Speaker 1: them through a primary with the endorsement Donald Trump, but
- 6:11Speaker 1: did they get you to the victory. Another example of
- 6:15Speaker 1: that is the Michigan governor's race. You had a very
- 6:18Speaker 1: vulnerable whit Whitmer was a governor who locked down kids
- 6:23Speaker 1: in school for more than two years. She locked them
- 6:26Speaker 1: out of school. I should say she's someone who shut
- 6:29Speaker 1: down businesses and destroyed her economy. She's someone that wanted
- 6:32Speaker 1: to take away the rights of parental rights, and she's
- 6:35Speaker 1: one that wanted to demandate vaccines and masks. The lockdowns
- 6:39Speaker 1: with COVID there were really more intense than maybe anywhere
- 6:43Speaker 1: else in the country. There was an opportunity in Michigan.
- 6:47Speaker 1: This was a big opportunity. Tudor Dixon got through the primary.
- 6:53Speaker 1: The problem is she did not get through the general election.
- 6:57Speaker 1: In fact, it wasn't even close. This is another example
- 7:01Speaker 1: of just how bad candidates election can be. In primaries.
- 7:06Speaker 1: You might be able to win a primary, that doesn't
- 7:08Speaker 1: mean that you are going to be able to win
- 7:10Speaker 1: a general election. It doesn't mean that. Now you look
- 7:15Speaker 1: at these takeaways, and again, Fetterman is the one that's
- 7:19Speaker 1: rocking the world right now because even Democrats cannot believe
- 7:25Speaker 1: that Fetterman was able to defeat the Republican doctor osmany
- 7:30Speaker 1: believe was not a real Republican. This was a seat
- 7:34Speaker 1: that we held the retiring center Pat Toomey made it
- 7:38Speaker 1: easy for Republicans to win. That we screwed it up
- 7:42Speaker 1: with our candidates selection. And that's the only way you
- 7:44Speaker 1: can look at this now. If you look at where
- 7:47Speaker 1: Republicans did well last night, and that there's a roadmap
- 7:50Speaker 1: for success You need to look no further than Florida.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Florida had their act together. Florida was a place with DeSantis,
- 8:00Speaker 1: he was the projected winner very early in the in
- 8:04Speaker 1: the night. And the fact that DeSantis was able to
- 8:08Speaker 1: pull off what Rhnda Santis was able to do there,
- 8:10Speaker 1: and the other Republican candidates that went there very quickly.
- 8:14Speaker 1: In Florida, look a look at Marco Rubio's race. Democrats
- 8:18Speaker 1: thought they might be able to make in ways there
- 8:20Speaker 1: or that race. No, they didn't get even they didn't
- 8:24Speaker 1: get close at all. But you look at the federal
- 8:27Speaker 1: you look at what happened in Florida, and they picked
- 8:30Speaker 1: solid candidates. In Florida, De Santis won by almost almost
- 8:35Speaker 1: twenty points fifty nine point four to forty percent over
- 8:39Speaker 1: Charlie Chris. That is a massive victory and it went
- 8:43Speaker 1: all the way through, all the way down the ballot.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You look at Georgia, for example, you had a solid
- 8:50Speaker 1: candidate in Kemp, and what happened with Kemp there? The
- 8:54Speaker 1: governor there beat the living crap out of Abrams. Abrams
- 8:58Speaker 1: had massive amounts of money, folks, mounts of cash that
- 9:02Speaker 1: no one could have imagined in that race, and she
- 9:05Speaker 1: wasted the donor money. Stacy Abrams wasted over a hundred
- 9:11Speaker 1: and five million dollars in donor moneyed in her failed campaign.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Good candidates win elections. You look at what's happening, for example,
- 9:22Speaker 1: in the election there for the Senate, and it may
- 9:25Speaker 1: have literally the weight of the Senate may go to
- 9:28Speaker 1: the Republicans of the Democrats. Based on another race in Georgia,
- 9:33Speaker 1: that is the race between Warnock, a guy that was
- 9:36Speaker 1: extremely vulnerable, and Warnock was up against the guy that
- 9:40Speaker 1: Donald Trump also picked. If a football player that had
- 9:45Speaker 1: a lot of baggage came down at the end to
- 9:48Speaker 1: hurt him that baggage, yeah, you can get him through
- 9:52Speaker 1: a primary, but can you get him through a general.
- 9:55Speaker 1: We're now headed for what looks like a runoff in
- 9:57Speaker 1: Georgia and that could cost us the in it. So
- 10:01Speaker 1: just because the Kennett can get through a primary with
- 10:04Speaker 1: a big Trump rally doesn't mean that it's the best
- 10:08Speaker 1: candidate for the job, and it doesn't mean that in
- 10:11Speaker 1: the general election it's going to work. That's the takeaway
- 10:14Speaker 1: from last night. Because Stacy Abrams lost again to the
- 10:18Speaker 1: Republican Brian Kemp, who did it on his own he
- 10:21Speaker 1: didn't have a bunch of backing from the Trump team.
- 10:25Speaker 1: She wasted over one hundred million dollars in campaign funds
- 10:30Speaker 1: one Georgia. This is the Abrams campaign. Leadership committee brought
- 10:35Speaker 1: in a combined one hundred and five million for a
- 10:38Speaker 1: campaign big donors from all over the country. One hundred
- 10:41Speaker 1: and five million, got a big loss. It was not
- 10:45Speaker 1: competitive there for her. The Kemp campaign, for example, they
- 10:50Speaker 1: raised eighty one million in their re election cycle. Abrams
- 10:54Speaker 1: wrote a dramatic wave of democratic support after her close
- 10:58Speaker 1: loss to Kemp in twenty eighteen and became an election
- 11:01Speaker 1: denier who refused to say that she lost the race.
- 11:03Speaker 1: She now has lost that race last night again. And
- 11:06Speaker 1: before I get into the second part of this, I
- 11:08Speaker 1: want to remind you about our good friends over at
- 11:10Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile. If you've got a cell phone, you need
- 11:13Speaker 1: to switch the Patriot Mobile because they are America's only
- 11:16Speaker 1: Christian conservative mobile phone provider and they use the same
- 11:21Speaker 1: towers that you're using right now. Why do you want
- 11:24Speaker 1: to switch? Because they are a force for conservative values.
- 11:28Speaker 1: They take a portion of your bill every month at
- 11:31Speaker 1: no extra cost to you, and they use that money
- 11:34Speaker 1: to fund conservative causes. To back conservative candidates who believe
- 11:39Speaker 1: in the sanctity of life, freedom of speech, the Second Amendment,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and they are winning big time. Patriot Mobile will save
- 11:47Speaker 1: you money as well over what you're spending right now.
- 11:50Speaker 1: They have affordable plans for not only you, but your
- 11:53Speaker 1: family and even your businesses. And they offer the same
- 11:57Speaker 1: exact nationwide coverage as the major carriers. If you're using
- 12:03Speaker 1: your phone every day, why not make a difference with
- 12:05Speaker 1: every phone call? Switch to Patriot Mobile that support our
- 12:09Speaker 1: conservative values. Go to Patriotmobile dot com slash ferguson, Patriot
- 12:15Speaker 1: Mobile dot com slash ferguson, or call them nine seven
- 12:19Speaker 1: to Patriot. That's nine seven to Patriot. You'll get free
- 12:24Speaker 1: activation with the offer code ben that's free activation plus
- 12:27Speaker 1: special discounts free activation Patriotmobile dot com slash ferguson or
- 12:33Speaker 1: nine seven two Patriot. This is something we have to
- 12:39Speaker 1: learn from. Just because Donald Trump can come in and
- 12:42Speaker 1: win you a primary to stick it to the Republican leadership,
- 12:46Speaker 1: doesn't mean that he can get you across the finish
- 12:48Speaker 1: line in a general election. That is the reality of
- 12:52Speaker 1: the takeaway of these midterm elections. We screwed it up
- 12:55Speaker 1: with bad candidates. Now we're gonna go to what looks
- 12:59Speaker 1: like a runoff in Orgia because you have to have
- 13:01Speaker 1: fifty plus one percent in Georgia. And everybody that I know,
- 13:06Speaker 1: as I woke up this morning, all the text messages
- 13:09Speaker 1: are like, all right, now, what happens in Georgia. The
- 13:13Speaker 1: Democrats will go all in on Georgia if they're gonna
- 13:16Speaker 1: need it, right, if they know that they could this
- 13:18Speaker 1: is the balance of power in the Senate, they will
- 13:21Speaker 1: jump in. You look at Georgia right now, and neither
- 13:27Speaker 1: of the candidates are above the fifty plus percent. They've
- 13:31Speaker 1: got ninety six percent of the vote that is in
- 13:35Speaker 1: As of seven twenty four am. Warnock is at forty
- 13:40Speaker 1: nine point two, Walker forty eight point seven, Oliver the
- 13:47Speaker 1: Independent at two point one percent with eighty thou twenty votes,
- 13:51Speaker 1: So that that is going to be interesting to see
- 13:53Speaker 1: who that breaks for. The other question is going to
- 13:55Speaker 1: be turnout right. Warnock had massive wins in the Atlanta area,
- 14:00Speaker 1: also around Augustus, Savannah and Columbus. That's where the main
- 14:04Speaker 1: part of his voters came from. Walker was in the
- 14:07Speaker 1: rest of the state. But you go to Walker and
- 14:09Speaker 1: you look at him as a candidate, and we should
- 14:12Speaker 1: have easily been able to beat Raphael Warnock, especially because
- 14:15Speaker 1: we had all the issues that were at our advantage.
- 14:18Speaker 1: The other thing is there are people, and make no
- 14:21Speaker 1: mistake about this, all right, because I'm not a cheerleader
- 14:24Speaker 1: when I give you the data, all right, I'm this
- 14:26Speaker 1: is just the data. You had a governor's race there
- 14:32Speaker 1: that looks different than the Senate race. What that means
- 14:37Speaker 1: is there were people that pushed a button for the
- 14:40Speaker 1: Republican Kemp who did not push the button for Walker.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That tells you something about candidate selection, how important it
- 14:49Speaker 1: is you go to, for example, Colorado. We had a
- 14:55Speaker 1: chance there in Colorado to do something that disappeared because
- 15:00Speaker 1: there was a war between O'Day and Donald Trump, and
- 15:03Speaker 1: O'Day got beat there badly fifty four to forty two.
- 15:09Speaker 1: That was a screw up. You look at what's happening
- 15:12Speaker 1: in Arizona. Arizona has had some voting issues, many of you.
- 15:17Speaker 1: We talked about that on the show yesterday. Mericoba County,
- 15:20Speaker 1: only sixty eight percent of the vote is in as
- 15:22Speaker 1: of seven twenty five Central time am on Wednesday morning,
- 15:26Speaker 1: and you have a Democrat there who is up fifty
- 15:30Speaker 1: one point nine to forty five point nine Overmasters in
- 15:34Speaker 1: Arizona car the governor's race, there also another one that's
- 15:38Speaker 1: going to be a key indicator there that makes me nervous.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Some of the winds that I love. And again I
- 15:43Speaker 1: go back to how solid of a campaign they ran
- 15:47Speaker 1: in Florida. It was an incredibly solid campaign top to
- 15:51Speaker 1: bottom with solid candidates in Florida, top to bottom on
- 15:54Speaker 1: the Republican side, and Democrats thought they were gonna be
- 15:57Speaker 1: able to come after Rubio. They were wrong. Rubio and
- 16:01Speaker 1: a Santists had big victories, Rubio overwhelmingly winning their fifty
- 16:06Speaker 1: seven point seven to forty one point three percent. This
- 16:11Speaker 1: clearly mimics the governor's numbers there with the Santists is
- 16:16Speaker 1: big win. So when you look at what happened and
- 16:20Speaker 1: the takeaway, we have to be honest about what happened here.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You look at Nevada and the Senate race there eighty
- 16:27Speaker 1: percent in right now too close to call. The good
- 16:31Speaker 1: news is at this point the Republican lasall is at
- 16:36Speaker 1: forty nine point nine and to forty seven point two.
- 16:41Speaker 1: That's a twenty two thousand vote lead in Nevada that's
- 16:44Speaker 1: a good that's a key race, a very important race
- 16:47Speaker 1: that we're gonna need and hopefully that will break our way.
- 16:53Speaker 1: We had North Carolina an exciting race there where Bud
- 16:58Speaker 1: won that Senate race. There, a good candidate was chosen
- 17:01Speaker 1: in a tough race in North Carolina over Beasley. We
- 17:04Speaker 1: won fifty point seven to forty seven percent. That is
- 17:08Speaker 1: a huge victory for the Republicans that we needed. Let's
- 17:11Speaker 1: talk about candidate selection with DJ Vance. Now, this is
- 17:14Speaker 1: where DJ Vance was a very good candidate. He was
- 17:17Speaker 1: endorsed by Donald Trump. Donald Trump came in, got him
- 17:20Speaker 1: through that primary, kept going for him in the general.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And Vance, who is a very good candidate, right, he
- 17:26Speaker 1: was way better than a Doctor Oz, way better than
- 17:30Speaker 1: herschel Walker for example. And DJ Vance was a solid
- 17:34Speaker 1: candidate who had backing of the Republican leadership and Donald Trump.
- 17:38Speaker 1: He was able to win that fifty three forty six.
- 17:42Speaker 1: You gotta be a smart candidate, you gotta be a
- 17:45Speaker 1: good candidate. The Doctor Oz race is the one that's
- 17:47Speaker 1: going to go down in history. Is one of the
- 17:49Speaker 1: biggest screw ups in the history of the Republican Party.
- 17:53Speaker 1: In the history, I would say of this of this primary,
- 17:57Speaker 1: you know, fight right between the Republicans and the Donald
- 18:01Speaker 1: Trump faction of the party. Donald Trump came in there.
- 18:05Speaker 1: He wanted to prove a point that he could take
- 18:07Speaker 1: somebody like Oz who by the way, it was a
- 18:09Speaker 1: Democrat who was a TV star, and get behind him
- 18:17Speaker 1: and push him through the primary. And he did it.
- 18:20Speaker 1: It costs us a Senate seat in Pennsylvania. That's just
- 18:23Speaker 1: the truth. We have to learn from these mistakes. You
- 18:28Speaker 1: look at Mike Lee in Utah. Mike Lee was able
- 18:31Speaker 1: to win that race there. Think goodness. He was behind
- 18:33Speaker 1: early on, people started realizing he was behind, they came back.
- 18:37Speaker 1: He won overwhelmingly, fifty five to forty one. Thank goodness
- 18:41Speaker 1: had happened there. In Washington, we had a chance there
- 18:46Speaker 1: and it disappeared quickly, even though the issues were on
- 18:50Speaker 1: our side. Murray beating Smiley there fifty six to forty two.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And lastly, think goodness. Johnson is up Ron Johnson, who
- 19:01Speaker 1: is the incumbent. He is up in Wisconsin fifty point
- 19:06Speaker 1: five to forty nine point three with ninety four percent
- 19:08Speaker 1: of the the vote in that's a thirty one thousand vote lead. Johnson.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I believe we'll hold on to that seat there. That's
- 19:15Speaker 1: going to help us tremendously. So was this a red wave? No,
- 19:19Speaker 1: I always will tell you the truth, it was not.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Was this a disappointment, yes, should we've had bigger wins
- 19:25Speaker 1: with all the issues that were on our side in
- 19:27Speaker 1: the economy. Yes. Candidate selection, my friends, is everything. Republicans
- 19:34Speaker 1: at this point still need two Democratic seats to flip
- 19:38Speaker 1: to Republicans to gain control the Senate. And losing that
- 19:42Speaker 1: odd seat that Oz election, that is that that could
- 19:47Speaker 1: be catastrophic to the Republicans gaining control of the Senate
- 19:53Speaker 1: and now having a bad candidate choice in Georgia and
- 19:57Speaker 1: that sentence to race there herschel Walker. We could done better.
- 20:01Speaker 1: That one could hurt us. Their candidate selection is everything,
- 20:06Speaker 1: all right? But first let me tell you real quick
- 20:07Speaker 1: about my good friends ever at Legacy Precious Metals. You've
- 20:10Speaker 1: seen what's going on the economy and the stock market
- 20:13Speaker 1: and inflation. It's just ridiculous. Now, what's going on? So
- 20:16Speaker 1: the question is are you diversified? Are you prepared to
- 20:20Speaker 1: weather this storm? Well? Do you have any investments in
- 20:25Speaker 1: gold and silver precious metals? Did you know that gold
- 20:28Speaker 1: and silver is actually used as a headge against inflation.
- 20:32Speaker 1: It is to diversify you so that when they're all
- 20:36Speaker 1: terrible days and now weeks and months on Wall Street,
- 20:39Speaker 1: that your assets are diversified so that they are not
- 20:43Speaker 1: affected in such a negative way. If you are not
- 20:47Speaker 1: investing in gold and silver, now is the time to
- 20:49Speaker 1: look at Legacy Precious Metals. Call them and they will
- 20:52Speaker 1: send you a free investor's guide so that you can
- 20:56Speaker 1: see what you can do with your retirement. You're four
- 20:58Speaker 1: one k your IRA with gold and silver to the

- 21:30Speaker 1: step back and you look at the takeaway here, Florida
- 21:36Speaker 1: seems to be the only big bright spot for Republicans
- 21:43Speaker 1: in a mid term election year where inflation is so
- 21:46Speaker 1: high and lockdowns were so unpopular. It is disturbing there
- 21:52Speaker 1: were not more pickups for Republicans nationwide Florida did it right.
- 21:59Speaker 1: They had solid conservative candidates that worked together to make
- 22:06Speaker 1: sure that everyone got elected. Ronda Santis winning re election
- 22:11Speaker 1: by twenty points in Florida incredible. Marco Rubio won by
- 22:17Speaker 1: almost as much. Incredible. Each of them won hardcore liberal
- 22:23Speaker 1: Miami Dade County by ten plus points. That means Hispanics
- 22:30Speaker 1: were willing to listen to Republican candidates if they said
- 22:33Speaker 1: the right things. Seventy percent of Miami Dade is Hispanic
- 22:37Speaker 1: and they are not all Cuban Americans anymore. De Santis
- 22:43Speaker 1: even won Palm Beach County, which is liberal, because he
- 22:47Speaker 1: made sure he talked the issues, and he took a
- 22:50Speaker 1: stand and stood on what he believed was right and wrong.
- 22:54Speaker 1: During all of the lockdowns and all of the covid
- 22:58Speaker 1: Democrats and hire media one to take down to Santis,
- 23:03Speaker 1: that didn't happen. Twenty the twenty eight congressional seats in
- 23:08Speaker 1: Florida are now Republicans. Both US Senate seats in Florida
- 23:14Speaker 1: are now Republican. The entire Florida cabinet, every statewide race
- 23:21Speaker 1: went Republican by more than a dozen percentage points. That
- 23:25Speaker 1: is unheard of. The candidate selection down there was phenomenal.
- 23:32Speaker 1: That is the bright spot for Republicans. Joining me now
- 23:36Speaker 1: to talk about where we are when it comes to
- 23:38Speaker 1: the Senate is US Senator from Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn, Senator.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I appreciate you coming on this morning. I think you
- 23:46Speaker 1: probably feel like I am. You're a little bit in
- 23:49Speaker 1: shock that we're at forty eight. Forty eight as you
- 23:51Speaker 1: and I speak this morning, the Democrats were actually able
- 23:54Speaker 1: to pick up a seat in the Senate at this point,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I am very concerned about the Senate right now. What's
- 24:00Speaker 1: your take? Well, I am very concerned about it. And
- 24:05Speaker 1: one thing you were just talking about with Florida, let
- 24:08Speaker 1: me kind of start there. I think you can look
- 24:10Speaker 1: at Florida and say leadership matters and having elected leaders.
- 24:16Speaker 1: You're talking about Rhonda Santis, You're talking about Marco, and
- 24:21Speaker 1: they have delivered on the issues where the people want
- 24:24Speaker 1: to see action. They've told people what they were going
- 24:28Speaker 1: to do, they talked them through it while they were
- 24:30Speaker 1: doing it. They've shown them what they've done. They've let
- 24:33Speaker 1: the results speak and the outcomes speak, and thereby the
- 24:38Speaker 1: people have responded. You saw that same thing in Mike
- 24:44Speaker 1: Lee's race out in Utah. You've seen it in Wisconsin
- 24:49Speaker 1: with Ron Johnson. So leadership does make a difference, and
- 24:54Speaker 1: it matters now. I think one of the things we
- 24:57Speaker 1: do have to look at with all the talk that
- 25:00Speaker 1: there about the red wave, and the media really drove
- 25:06Speaker 1: this issue of the red wave, and as I repeatedly said,
- 25:11Speaker 1: the red wave could be there, but you've got to
- 25:14Speaker 1: make sure it comes to your state, your congressional district,
- 25:17Speaker 1: to your state Senate and state house seats. You have
- 25:22Speaker 1: to make certain that that red wave arise. And what
- 25:26Speaker 1: we had and some of these races was the narrative
- 25:30Speaker 1: that was put in place that the candidates could not
- 25:34Speaker 1: meet that expectation. So that is a good lesson for Republicans.
- 25:40Speaker 1: And then today we have to pick ourselves up. We
- 25:44Speaker 1: have to get back to the business of blocking Joe
- 25:47Speaker 1: Biden's agenda. We have to make certain that we are
- 25:52Speaker 1: going to focus on the issues because the twenty four
- 25:56Speaker 1: election cycle begins today. There's no doubt it begins today.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Let's talk about these Senate races that are still left
- 26:07Speaker 1: I am. I think the most disappointing and shocking for
- 26:11Speaker 1: me was obviously the race in Pennsylvania. You know Cannet
- 26:17Speaker 1: selection matters. Doctor Oz was rejected by the voters after
- 26:23Speaker 1: winning that primary. That primary, as you know, was a
- 26:26Speaker 1: very divided, very tight primary there. Doctor Oz clearly was
- 26:32Speaker 1: the weaker candidate. I would argue, it's clear that the
- 26:34Speaker 1: voters said he was the wrong candidate for the Republican
- 26:38Speaker 1: party there. We have to learn from these mistakes. You
- 26:41Speaker 1: look at Georgia right now, what looks like we're going
- 26:43Speaker 1: to be going into a runoff there. Neither candate Warnox
- 26:46Speaker 1: at forty nine point two, Walker is at forty eight
- 26:49Speaker 1: point seven, and yet you have a governor's race there
- 26:53Speaker 1: overwhelmingly won by a Republican. That means there was people
- 26:56Speaker 1: that walked in and voted for the Republican for governor
- 26:59Speaker 1: and did not for Walker, maybe didn't even vote in
- 27:01Speaker 1: that race altogether. What we're seeing there and now we're
- 27:05Speaker 1: going to be heading towards this this runoff, we've got
- 27:08Speaker 1: to learn that Cannet's election is so vitally important when
- 27:13Speaker 1: looking in these primaries moving forward, well, that is very true.
- 27:19Speaker 1: You always want the most I want the most conservative
- 27:23Speaker 1: candidate that can win. And what we have to make
- 27:26Speaker 1: certain is that we move forward as a United Party,
- 27:30Speaker 1: that we are not running against ourselves and the Democrats,
- 27:35Speaker 1: that we are united because the environment was right for us.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But you know, one of the things that Haley Barber
- 27:44Speaker 1: used to say, and I always appreciated this, he would
- 27:49Speaker 1: talk about when we focus on personalities, we lose. When
- 27:53Speaker 1: we focus on issues and principles, we win. And we
- 28:00Speaker 1: remember that we should all remember that. That's an important
- 28:05Speaker 1: lesson for us to keep in mind. A look at Arizona,
- 28:11Speaker 1: for example, there was so much emphasis there on personalities
- 28:15Speaker 1: and that is I think gotten us in some trouble
- 28:18Speaker 1: in Arizona right now, those races there with Kelly and Masters,
- 28:22Speaker 1: and now you look at the governor's race there that
- 28:25Speaker 1: was very much a personality driven race, a lot of press,
- 28:28Speaker 1: a lot of national press. But the voters when they
- 28:31Speaker 1: went in did that did not play well for us. Well,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you're right about that. And what seems to have happened
- 28:40Speaker 1: as we're looking at results this morning, is that people
- 28:44Speaker 1: that traditionally voted Democrats when these candidates, when these Democrat
- 28:51Speaker 1: candidates separated themselves from book White House and started to
- 28:57Speaker 1: move to the middle on the issues of inflation, of crime,
- 29:03Speaker 1: of the open border, and you can see this. You
- 29:05Speaker 1: know Texas and you know South Texas, and you know
- 29:10Speaker 1: that a lot of those races you had Democrats moved
- 29:16Speaker 1: back and support the Democrats who said, oh no, no, no,
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'm not one of those Biden Democrats. I'm going to
- 29:22Speaker 1: be a moderate and I'm going to go work with
- 29:26Speaker 1: everybody so that we can get things done. And we
- 29:30Speaker 1: have to remember when you're in elective office, you are
- 29:34Speaker 1: there to represent everybody who has sent you, everybody that
- 29:40Speaker 1: is in that district, whether they go to for you
- 29:42Speaker 1: or not, whether they're a Democrat, Republican, independent, Green Party,
- 29:47Speaker 1: you are there to represent your area senor. We just
- 29:52Speaker 1: got some good news and I just got this that
- 29:55Speaker 1: the new ballots are just updated in Nevada. Lasal there
- 30:00Speaker 1: has just moved up to forty nine point nine. Cortez
- 30:05Speaker 1: Amasso is at forty seven point two with eighty percent
- 30:11Speaker 1: now in there. That's a twenty two thousand and five
- 30:14Speaker 1: hundred ninety five vote lead for the Republican Lacks out
- 30:19Speaker 1: there that race, and Nevada is vitally important to the
- 30:24Speaker 1: Senate possibly being in control of the Republicans. That's encouraging numbers.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Those are encouraging numbers, and I get fully believe when
- 30:37Speaker 1: everything is counted that we're going to have that slight
- 30:40Speaker 1: majority for Republicans. The lesson is, we have to be
- 30:46Speaker 1: focusing on the issues. We have to be holding this
- 30:50Speaker 1: administration to account, and we have to deliver for the
- 30:56Speaker 1: American people. Yeah, if there's any one exciting piece of news,
- 31:00Speaker 1: somebody that you served with, senator for quite some time
- 31:04Speaker 1: when you're in the House, if there's any headline now
- 31:07Speaker 1: that I think we can all get excited about. It
- 31:09Speaker 1: looks like that Nancy Pelosi will no longer be the
- 31:11Speaker 1: Speaker of the House and very well may decide to retire.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Do you think she'll retire? And how excited are you
- 31:17Speaker 1: that at least we are going to be done with
- 31:18Speaker 1: Nancy Pelosian leadership. I don't know what her plans are.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I've seeing some of the press releases. What I am
- 31:29Speaker 1: so pleased for is that the Republicans will in the House.
- 31:34Speaker 1: We'll be able to take the lead in blocking the
- 31:38Speaker 1: Biden agenda. You know, Ben, there some things that Kevin
- 31:43Speaker 1: McCarthy is Speaker of the House, needs to immediately do.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Number one is to freeze federal spending, federal hiring, and
- 31:51Speaker 1: federal employee salaries. That has to be done immediately. And
- 31:59Speaker 1: the other thing is to get rid of these eighty
- 32:01Speaker 1: seven thousand IRS agents and turn that into on the
- 32:06Speaker 1: streets and border security personnel. And the third thing is
- 32:10Speaker 1: to push back on the White House so that we
- 32:13Speaker 1: moved to energy independence and dominance. We have to go
- 32:17Speaker 1: back to drilling in the US, go back to fracting.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Those are going to be imperative steps for us in
- 32:25Speaker 1: order to get inflation under control. Senator I wish it
- 32:29Speaker 1: was more exciting this morning. You and I were hoping
- 32:31Speaker 1: for a big red wave. That's not what we're getting.
- 32:33Speaker 1: But we do have some victories that are going to
- 32:35Speaker 1: be vitally important for the direction of the country and
- 32:37Speaker 1: holding this administration accountable. I appreciate you coming on as always,
- 32:41Speaker 1: and hopefully we'll start getting some better news today. The
- 32:45Speaker 1: Senate is going to be so important. I know you're
- 32:47Speaker 1: going to be watching it, and I'll have you back
