- 2:00Speaker 1: Uh huh. I show will come morning. Everybody you're listening
- 2:05Speaker 1: to the voice, Come on dig me now, one and
- 2:08Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey got a radio show man. Oh man,
- 2:12Speaker 1: oh man? How many times I got to say that
- 2:16Speaker 1: before I get tired of it. M I think it's
- 2:20Speaker 1: gonna be a minute, folks. I gotta be real with you, because,
- 2:23Speaker 1: boy that Steve Harvey got a radio show man. Clear
- 2:27Speaker 1: indication of how God can do some unexpected, wonderful things
- 2:33Speaker 1: for you, how he leaves your life in directions that
- 2:37Speaker 1: you never ever saw coming. You know. I was talking
- 2:39Speaker 1: with somebody the other day and they were talking about
- 2:42Speaker 1: how man they were young and they were doing things
- 2:46Speaker 1: and they never knew that the things that they were
- 2:47Speaker 1: doing as a youngster would come and and he helped
- 2:53Speaker 1: form who they were today as an adult. This guy's
- 2:56Speaker 1: fifty years old, and uh, you know the same thing.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You If you look back on your life and all
- 3:03Speaker 1: of the things that you've done, it helps shape you
- 3:06Speaker 1: into who you are now. This is provided now that
- 3:11Speaker 1: you take the positive approach. Now when I say look
- 3:14Speaker 1: back at your life and see what you've done, that
- 3:16Speaker 1: doesn't mean doll on the misfortunate moments, because the misfortunate
- 3:21Speaker 1: moments were necessary. I know it. It's hard to see
- 3:24Speaker 1: that when it's happening to you, But the unfortunate moments
- 3:28Speaker 1: are necessary. You know, what really makes you appreciate summer
- 3:32Speaker 1: vacation is winter work. What really makes you appreciate a
- 3:37Speaker 1: walk on the beach, it's when it's cold as raining outside.
- 3:41Speaker 1: What really makes you appreciate when you're up, it's because
- 3:46Speaker 1: you've been down. See if you are up all the time.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Just the nature of us as human beings, we would
- 3:53Speaker 1: lose our appreciation for because it becomes case surah, whatever
- 3:58Speaker 1: it is, well, it is what it is. I'm is
- 4:00Speaker 1: what what what you take it for granted, it becomes expected.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But what happens in life's is it has so many
- 4:06Speaker 1: twisting turns, and then you learn how to deal with
- 4:10Speaker 1: those twisting turns, which makes you now a more experienced person.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And then when the sunny days come, man, you go wild.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's really nice outside. You really want to appreciate how
- 4:20Speaker 1: warm weather just stay in a bunch of cold weather
- 4:22Speaker 1: all the time. I'm you know, you know what I'm saying.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'm just this is really really simple and now analogies,
- 4:28Speaker 1: but it helps you along the way. Now here's what
- 4:31Speaker 1: I came to say today to everybody out there. And
- 4:35Speaker 1: this has helped me in my life. I can't tell
- 4:37Speaker 1: you what it's done for me. But a lot of
- 4:41Speaker 1: people are struggling with moving forward with their future, their
- 4:46Speaker 1: future plans, their future goals, their future aspirations, their future hopes,
- 4:53Speaker 1: their future dreams. Just simply that your future wants a
- 4:58Speaker 1: lot of people trying to have hard time mapping out
- 5:01Speaker 1: their future. Even what I'm gonna do, what I'm gonna be,
- 5:06Speaker 1: what I'm gonna make, how or go about it? What
- 5:09Speaker 1: do I do next? I want to share something with
- 5:12Speaker 1: you that I had to come to terms with the
- 5:14Speaker 1: quickest way to lose focus on your future is to
- 5:19Speaker 1: keep focusing on your past. You know, It's like I
- 5:22Speaker 1: said at the beginning. You know when I say it's
- 5:24Speaker 1: it's wonderful to look at your life and review it,
- 5:28Speaker 1: because if you look at it, it'll tell you, uh it.
- 5:31Speaker 1: It really helps shape inform you today as the person
- 5:35Speaker 1: you are now if you look at it in a
- 5:37Speaker 1: positive sense. But if you dwell in harp on the
- 5:41Speaker 1: negative that's happened to you, then that keeps you from
- 5:45Speaker 1: seeing the good in the incident. Every bad thing that's
- 5:48Speaker 1: happened to you, there was a silver lining behind it.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I know people who were on drugs who finally, man
- 5:55Speaker 1: just got sent to prison for still in because of
- 5:57Speaker 1: their habit. I know, Cat that's so dope. Well he
- 6:01Speaker 1: went to prison. He told me one time. He said, Steve,
- 6:04Speaker 1: it's a man. This is the best thing ever happened
- 6:06Speaker 1: to me to save my life. Now, most people would think,
- 6:10Speaker 1: how in the world is going to prison helpful for you?
- 6:13Speaker 1: The brother said, it saved my life. First of all,
- 6:17Speaker 1: it got me clean. He said, I've been cleaned for
- 6:20Speaker 1: five years from sitting in here. That's for starters. I'm cleaned.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I ain't stilling no more. I ain't putting myself in jeopardy,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and I ain't jeopardizing nobody else. He said. Now, man,
- 6:31Speaker 1: I don't went to college. I didn't got a college
- 6:34Speaker 1: degree while I'm in him. Then he was released from prison,
- 6:38Speaker 1: and the brother's life was completely turned around. He married,
- 6:42Speaker 1: he got a family, he got a great job, he
- 6:45Speaker 1: got to work every day. He's a productive citizen. I mean.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So he looks back on his incarceration, even his drug abuse,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and it taught him how to appreciate the things in
- 6:58Speaker 1: life that he had taken for ran it and was
- 7:00Speaker 1: missing because he said, man, my life was just in
- 7:03Speaker 1: a blur. I didn't even know what was going on.
- 7:06Speaker 1: He said, Now I appreciate every day I wake up.
- 7:09Speaker 1: That's what I mean. Even in your missteps in life,
- 7:13Speaker 1: there is a purpose for the missteps. Every time you fail,
- 7:17Speaker 1: there was a reason for the failure. See what I
- 7:20Speaker 1: had to do was I had to learn that all
- 7:23Speaker 1: of my failures taught me how to get back up.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So I became a very strong and tough person in
- 7:29Speaker 1: getting back up. And then I was down and out
- 7:33Speaker 1: so long that it taught me how to really appreciate
- 7:36Speaker 1: the up. And so I've taken all of that and
- 7:40Speaker 1: used it those experiences that happened to me, and I
- 7:43Speaker 1: became a more experienced person. So next time when people
- 7:47Speaker 1: talk about me who don't know me, it don't shake me.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Because everybody's not gonna like you. Man, you might as
- 7:54Speaker 1: well gonna get on this train right now. And so
- 7:57Speaker 1: what I'm saying to you out there is the quicker
- 8:00Speaker 1: way to lose focus on your future is to keep
- 8:02Speaker 1: focusing on your path. Let it go, man, go forward.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's over. You made it, you got through it, You're
- 8:10Speaker 1: beyond it. Yeah yeah, yeah he left. But like I
- 8:13Speaker 1: told us lady on my TV show the other day,
- 8:15Speaker 1: sometimes the breakup is the blessing. I know it's hard
- 8:19Speaker 1: to break up because now you're loaning you by yourself.
- 8:21Speaker 1: But man, but when you in misery, when you was
- 8:24Speaker 1: in that, weren't you in complete misery in that? Now
- 8:29Speaker 1: you kept asking God to fix it. But it takes
- 8:31Speaker 1: two people to fix a relationship. It don't just take one.
- 8:35Speaker 1: It takes two to make a thing go right. It
- 8:38Speaker 1: takes two to make it out of sight. Say you
- 8:41Speaker 1: know that's that's that's a song. But man, that's so true.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You really do have to have two people wanting a
- 8:48Speaker 1: relationship to work. It can't just be one person, one relationship.
- 8:51Speaker 1: So you can pray about the relationship all you want.
- 8:54Speaker 1: If the other person don't want you no more and
- 8:57Speaker 1: ain't gonna act right, you can't make him do that
- 9:00Speaker 1: or you can't make her do that. So man, the
- 9:03Speaker 1: relationship to break up sometimes it's a blessing. It's over.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Let it go go forward. Quit looking at how much
- 9:10Speaker 1: time you wasted. Man, that's that kills people from getting
- 9:14Speaker 1: the next if you're constantly dwelling on how much time
- 9:18Speaker 1: I gave him and how much time I gave her,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and now here I am lost in alone. Oh, you
- 9:24Speaker 1: ain't wasting no time. Some of the times was good,
- 9:28Speaker 1: a lot of them was bad. So what you're gonna
- 9:30Speaker 1: do now? You You ain't gonna have no future because
- 9:34Speaker 1: you're gonna keep focusing on your past. Are you serious?
- 9:38Speaker 1: So now you're asking God to give you another relationship
- 9:42Speaker 1: when you don't even have enough sense to appreciate the
- 9:46Speaker 1: fact that you are now available for another relationship. But
- 9:51Speaker 1: you steady asking God for a new relationship, but you
- 9:56Speaker 1: are yet to be grateful that you are in a
- 9:59Speaker 1: position to have a relationship, and you keep harping on
- 10:02Speaker 1: the past. You don't think you hear that. I'm just
- 10:05Speaker 1: a dude with a show and I hear it all
- 10:07Speaker 1: the time. Let it go go forward. It's over. You
- 10:12Speaker 1: made it, He bought you through it, you conquered, you
- 10:16Speaker 1: survived it. Why are you dwelling on it and making
- 10:20Speaker 1: it the cross around your neck when clearly he had
- 10:23Speaker 1: removed it for you. Now, all you got to do
- 10:26Speaker 1: is come on. So if you're sitting behind them walls,
- 10:29Speaker 1: brothers and sisters, I'm talking directly to you sometimes. Man,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you just got to get it right. All this repeat
- 10:36Speaker 1: offender business, that's for. Who is that for? How ignorant
- 10:40Speaker 1: can you be to keep giving your life back to
- 10:43Speaker 1: the penal system? Be free, man, walk the streets, do
- 10:46Speaker 1: the right thing. Ask God to help connect you. He
- 10:49Speaker 1: could do anything. You think he can't give you a job?
- 10:52Speaker 1: Are you serious? Man? Put some faith on it. Let's
- 10:55Speaker 1: move forward, y'all. Let it go. Let's move to show.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, parns and girls. Man, have your attention, please,
- 11:05Speaker 1: this is the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Before you're currently

- 11:54Speaker 1: to the march and look I heard you was down there?
- 12:03Speaker 1: Who's doing number five? He was dying? Are you ready now? No?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Not not really just looking. I'm looking, you know, going
- 12:12Speaker 1: to store, you flip over tags, the search with Jine
- 12:15Speaker 1: buying the damn thing, shopping, shopping stop doing dramatics had
- 12:21Speaker 1: a song like that, just shopping, Yeah, just shoping, not
- 12:30Speaker 1: buying because you know, saying what you Boh. They had
- 12:39Speaker 1: a song about everything. I want to go outside in
- 12:42Speaker 1: the rain. Hey you get off my mountains? Yeah? Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 1: like whirling round round, sinking down, spinning on the ground.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You I come fulling falling. A lot of things happened
- 13:16Speaker 1: this weekend. Jake, j what movie did you go? I
- 13:23Speaker 1: want to see dinner, Thieve and uh I kIPS Son
- 13:31Speaker 1: and some other the guys that were on the show, Steve,
- 13:35Speaker 1: really good movie. And the kill count is not as
- 13:39Speaker 1: high as the bullet count in this movie. They the
- 13:44Speaker 1: bullet count is real hot. If they weren't missing, they
- 13:48Speaker 1: were hitting people, but the bullet count is way up there.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We had to sweep up all them damn bullets to
- 13:56Speaker 1: shoot again. Yeah, take one. A really good movie. And
- 14:07Speaker 1: what did I do this weekend? Uh? You all ready
- 14:10Speaker 1: come on? Yeah? Nothing? You never not do anything, my partners,
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oh we'll have I got a story for y'all. Can
- 14:25Speaker 1: I do thirty something funny today? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 1: We're looking at the name on the wall and the
- 14:31Speaker 1: name of the hold. Listen to me, Junior, and well
- 14:36Speaker 1: took me out for my birthday. I have a story
- 14:39Speaker 1: for y'all. And the government is shut down. We'll be
- 14:42Speaker 1: back at thirty two after to talk about it all.
- 14:45Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Dave. Before
- 14:49Speaker 1: we went to break, you told us that you had
- 14:51Speaker 1: a story to tell us. Before we get into it,
- 14:54Speaker 1: let me just tell you this quickly. The government shut
- 14:56Speaker 1: down on Trump's one year anniversary. What was it at
- 15:00Speaker 1: midnight on Friday? Yeah, yeah, and there's nothing we can
- 15:03Speaker 1: do about it and nothing. They're just sitting they're doing
- 15:06Speaker 1: what they want to do. And he had a party
- 15:08Speaker 1: he didn't go to. Well, at least he did cancel
- 15:11Speaker 1: that he will. Someone got to him and said, now, yeah,
- 15:18Speaker 1: that ain't a good look. Party got me shutdown? You
- 15:23Speaker 1: down their party. But he did say the government needed
- 15:26Speaker 1: a good shutdown, and he said if it happened the
- 15:29Speaker 1: president president, Well, if you say who gets fired, it
- 15:33Speaker 1: always has to be the top. I mean, problems start
- 15:36Speaker 1: from the top, and they have to get solved from
- 15:38Speaker 1: the top. And the president's the leader, and he's got
- 15:41Speaker 1: to get everybody in a room and he's got to lead.
- 15:43Speaker 1: You know. The interesting thing is in five years and
- 15:46Speaker 1: fifty years and a hundred years from now, when they
- 15:49Speaker 1: talk about the government shutdown, they're going to be talking
- 15:52Speaker 1: about the President of the United States, who was the
- 15:54Speaker 1: president at that time. They're not going to be talking
- 15:56Speaker 1: who the head of the House was, the head of
- 15:58Speaker 1: the Senate, who's running things in Washington. So I really
- 16:02Speaker 1: think the pressure is on the president. But he said
- 16:05Speaker 1: it on Fox. So seeing in it's playing all the
- 16:09Speaker 1: Fox tapes of when he said the government shut down
- 16:12Speaker 1: the squarely on the president's shoulder. I mean, this has
- 16:15Speaker 1: to happen from the top. It's poor leadership. All of
- 16:18Speaker 1: the Fox people are sitting there listening to him. They're
- 16:21Speaker 1: showing it on seeing it Fox and mixing Fox. They
- 16:27Speaker 1: mention with Fox. Fox ain't played the tap, but they
- 16:31Speaker 1: made They got a Fox and the only Fox is
- 16:34Speaker 1: stuffing is show me the Carfax man. I mean, man,
- 16:41Speaker 1: they acting like this has never had and then they're
- 16:44Speaker 1: calling it the Schumer shutdown. They just blame it on
- 16:48Speaker 1: this and that's what it is because what they're saying
- 16:53Speaker 1: is the Republicans controlled the House, the Senate, and the
- 16:56Speaker 1: White House, so this is squarely on your shoulders. Here's
- 16:59Speaker 1: the part they're saying, but the Democrats wouldn't come over
- 17:02Speaker 1: and vote. But they're also not saying that. I think
- 17:05Speaker 1: it's two or three Republicans who didn't. So you can't
- 17:13Speaker 1: get all of your own party to keep it right.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It's your fault, all right. I'm gonna share something with you.
- 17:20Speaker 1: A couple of my boys, Will and Junior, from the show.
- 17:23Speaker 1: They decided for my birthday to take me out to
- 17:26Speaker 1: one of my favorite places. So they take me to
- 17:28Speaker 1: this place. It is famous. It is one of the
- 17:34Speaker 1: three scotch bars in the world. It has every the
- 17:38Speaker 1: rarest scotches in the world in it, everything served in Lali.
- 17:42Speaker 1: It's got a cigar menu, very very exclusive. So we
- 17:46Speaker 1: get up there. They say, uncle, this treat is on us.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But I told I said, listen to me, fellas. I
- 17:53Speaker 1: appreciate this man, love y'all for getting me out this
- 17:56Speaker 1: Friday evening, but I'm gonna pay for my own because
- 18:00Speaker 1: I want to try something I haven't had before. So
- 18:03Speaker 1: they pass out the drink menu. I'm sitting next to Junior.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Junior is in all of the whole place to presentation,
- 18:11Speaker 1: the different types of ice is you can get, the
- 18:14Speaker 1: different types of stones you can get, I mean all
- 18:18Speaker 1: of its. Junior is amazing. It's amazing. Okay. So we're
- 18:23Speaker 1: sitting there's the three of us in this little area fireplace,
- 18:27Speaker 1: going everything. We're just sitting there, just man, just chilling right, relaxing.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So the menu comes. The drinks they go by years,
- 18:35Speaker 1: whether it's cherry or rare cast and exclusive. This one
- 18:42Speaker 1: side is nothing but these scotches, and they go by
- 18:45Speaker 1: years and as you get closer to the bottom of
- 18:47Speaker 1: the year just gets more and more expensive. I'll give
- 18:51Speaker 1: you an example. The cheapest drink in there is forty dollars.
- 18:56Speaker 1: It's like, no, twelve years, so that's that's forty dollars.
- 19:05Speaker 1: They have McCallum in there that goes up to five
- 19:10Speaker 1: thousand dollars glass, and then they have another special shot
- 19:15Speaker 1: that you can buy for charity. That's sixty four thousand
- 19:19Speaker 1: dollars for one shot. Sixty four thousand. I'm telling the truth, right, Junior. Okay,
- 19:29Speaker 1: So it's just here. So Junior is in there looking
- 19:33Speaker 1: at the menu. A junior going WHOA what is this?
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm trying to explain to it. So when you order
- 19:40Speaker 1: your drink, you go by the year, So you say, hey, man,
- 19:45Speaker 1: like I'll have an eighteen. So they have from twelve fifteen, eighteen,
- 19:49Speaker 1: this is the year, older scotches to L thirty five forty.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Then they have a fifty fifty seven at a sixty five.
- 20:03Speaker 1: So Junior then looked at the menu. Junior has decided
- 20:08Speaker 1: that he wants the cheapest drink. Hold it out. So
- 20:13Speaker 1: I'm cool with that, I said, Junior. That's the way
- 20:17Speaker 1: you do it in here. I order first, and I
- 20:21Speaker 1: ordered a number six. So now this shot that I'm
- 20:26Speaker 1: gonna try is twelve hundred dollars. God uh huh. So
- 20:31Speaker 1: I told the fellas, I appreciate you'all taking, but don't
- 20:33Speaker 1: pay for my all because I'm gonna try something I
- 20:35Speaker 1: never had. They come out, they can make this big presentation.
- 20:39Speaker 1: We all orders his drink. Kire folds up the menu,
- 20:44Speaker 1: you know, like got it. Junior slaps the menu shot,
- 20:47Speaker 1: hands it to the man and said, I'm gonna have
- 20:50Speaker 1: that forty. I slapped this menu out of Junior's hand
- 20:55Speaker 1: so fast it fell on the float. I said, man,
- 20:59Speaker 1: hold of man, I said, Jor, you're going too fast.
- 21:02Speaker 1: You're going too fast. Don't you can't order this? What
- 21:06Speaker 1: you can't defty talking, said Jor. Thefty is five thousand
- 21:12Speaker 1: dollars a shot. He said, no, Uncle, I want the
- 21:16Speaker 1: one that cost. The man was standing that laughing so
- 21:23Speaker 1: had He said, you just made my night because I
- 21:30Speaker 1: was about to pull the shot I've been wanting to
- 21:33Speaker 1: buy for four weeks, defended poor glass of forty and
- 21:38Speaker 1: just smelling, Junior ordered the five thousand dollars. Reverend Motown
- 21:46Speaker 1: Deacon death Jammer up next with church complaints. Right after this,
- 21:52Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at
- 21:56Speaker 1: the top of the hour, Miss and will be here
- 21:58Speaker 1: with today's national news. Right now, we're gonna make you
- 22:01Speaker 1: laugh a little bit, as we always tend to do
- 22:03Speaker 1: on this show. Yes, it is Monday, and it is
- 22:06Speaker 1: time for Deacon deaf Jam and Reverend Motown here with
- 22:09Speaker 1: church complaints already. Ollo, Oh Lord, we we gavel on
- 22:28Speaker 1: this great Monday that should be the beginning of a
- 22:35Speaker 1: week for most should be open with gratitude, but not hell.
- 22:42Speaker 1: At the jackpot Joint of Jerusalem, all we have for
- 22:49Speaker 1: you is complaints. Speak some role with somebody around hill.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I never see the congregation more more ungrateful, more uncomplimentary,
- 23:11Speaker 1: more de mocolical. I'm sorry, more demore colical. What is
- 23:19Speaker 1: that in their approach? That just a that's the word
- 23:22Speaker 1: that means demon is the lead off and it's just
- 23:28Speaker 1: letting the devil take control and had them saying, go ahead,
- 23:32Speaker 1: deacon with it. Pass it here the situation the um
- 23:37Speaker 1: South Charleston ju believes are singing this coming Sunday. Last
- 23:42Speaker 1: year they came three of the sisters winded up pregnant. Um,
- 23:46Speaker 1: we want to find out who to find us are,
- 23:49Speaker 1: but they won't your help on this past three or
- 23:55Speaker 1: the South Charleston ju belie women is pregnant. Not no, no,
- 24:00Speaker 1: not that the South Charleston jib leese is that the
- 24:03Speaker 1: guy group listen past three of our sisters, three of
- 24:11Speaker 1: our members. Well the reason that is is because they
- 24:22Speaker 1: is the new addition of gospel. Now you don't let
- 24:29Speaker 1: Ralph Bobby Run and michael'neill up in your congregation with
- 24:38Speaker 1: a weak flock. Things like that. It's gonna happen. They're
- 24:44Speaker 1: coming back this shield again next week. Had maybe been
- 24:48Speaker 1: here Sandy, but they don't know who the father is.
- 24:52Speaker 1: So that's well that was a year ago, correct, Yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 1: the baby point. Oh then no, wonder we have it.
- 25:01Speaker 1: All these attorneys bought in child supported specialists. So just
- 25:07Speaker 1: telling the South Charleston, do you believe that they will
- 25:10Speaker 1: be unating in a cup for DNA purposes? Go ahead,
- 25:18Speaker 1: Sister La CRYSTALLYN Davis. His friend Nevanderland Davis, who was
- 25:23Speaker 1: twenty four I just received his high school g e. D.
- 25:27Speaker 1: She is asking that we give him a scholarship to
- 25:30Speaker 1: lawn mower university. The other deacons and the trustees don't
- 25:34Speaker 1: think this is a good uh idea Panther, but the
- 25:37Speaker 1: land the final decision would be yours. But he's trying
- 25:39Speaker 1: to go to lawn mower University. We look, we sponsored
- 25:44Speaker 1: this twenty four years or g E D program. We
- 25:48Speaker 1: paid that in this stied which or stopped me from
- 25:52Speaker 1: making several bits while in Vegas. Now, based on that,
- 25:59Speaker 1: in the fact that I was not able to flip
- 26:02Speaker 1: that money, there will be no more supporting of Vanderlin
- 26:09Speaker 1: at the university of what grass cutting you said the
- 26:15Speaker 1: same thing. We're not gonna do that because you ain't
- 26:19Speaker 1: got to go to school to do that. You know,
- 26:26Speaker 1: what he trying to do is avoid with starting with
- 26:28Speaker 1: an entry level position, which is just the edge. He
- 26:35Speaker 1: wants to go right into pushing lawn Moore. He needs
- 26:38Speaker 1: to start as an edge, alright, always trying to skip
- 26:47Speaker 1: a Still, We're having our second annual Kyla Green and
- 26:54Speaker 1: corn Bread eating contest on Saturday. The prize is set
- 26:59Speaker 1: at two. They want you to get Big Curby, who
- 27:04Speaker 1: was four hundred and thirty two pounds. To not be
- 27:06Speaker 1: allowed to be in the contest, we had to remodel
- 27:09Speaker 1: the entire bathroom last year because he exploded. The entire
- 27:13Speaker 1: room was green. Please have it a conversation. Well, that's
- 27:19Speaker 1: that's gonna be awful, hard Deacon, because Big Curby is
- 27:23Speaker 1: the defending champion and the titless he is until somebody
- 27:28Speaker 1: take it now, Big Curby. And plus I'm not removing
- 27:36Speaker 1: Big Curby because I also handled the sideline bets from
- 27:40Speaker 1: this space right there. Big Curby is the reigning champ.
- 27:49Speaker 1: And until you defeat that child, cannot take him out.
- 27:52Speaker 1: The contest just would not be fake. We just fixed
- 27:56Speaker 1: that bathroom up, so I'm just telling you now he could.
- 28:00Speaker 1: What I propose is that y'all put up a tent
- 28:04Speaker 1: outside and right after the contest, just have Big Curby
- 28:13Speaker 1: walking that tent naked and just whatever be beat. And
- 28:18Speaker 1: then that way, when he gets through, we just burning
- 28:22Speaker 1: to tip the ground. All that I would I would
- 28:27Speaker 1: make a note of that path. Brother. Manny Jenkins is
- 28:31Speaker 1: being released in two weeks from the mental institution. As
- 28:35Speaker 1: we know, man he thinks he's Bruce Lee and kicks
- 28:38Speaker 1: the members in the middle of service. Uh. The board
- 28:41Speaker 1: is asking that we put him in a strait jacket
- 28:43Speaker 1: when he returns past it. But we need you to
- 28:46Speaker 1: sign off on this. I think the best way to
- 28:50Speaker 1: do this it is right after the call it green
- 28:56Speaker 1: corn bread eating content us. Put Brother Man of Jenkins
- 29:01Speaker 1: in the tent with Big Curb and that'll be the
- 29:05Speaker 1: last time he kicked anybody and making can't you see it?
- 29:15Speaker 1: And making? But I don't like him in there and
- 29:18Speaker 1: big Caribbean there naked and just and he kicking. It's
- 29:22Speaker 1: just it's a mess. It's just not good. That's that's
- 29:25Speaker 1: gonna break the kicking. See when you kick and get
- 29:30Speaker 1: an explosion to what Curby gonna do, then you're gonna
- 29:34Speaker 1: That's that that's creates some memory. And it slowed down
- 29:40Speaker 1: all the kicking. What I'm trying, What I'm trying to
- 29:42Speaker 1: tell you, can't we move on? Please? All right? Rather
- 29:52Speaker 1: Jasper Davis, that's why you got the turn. I kicked
- 29:57Speaker 1: the sugar horn. All right? Then just let it help
- 30:04Speaker 1: pastor you don't notice. But as of last night, Brother
- 30:07Speaker 1: Jasper Davis had a crap game in the fellowship. How
- 30:11Speaker 1: late last night after everyone was gone, he lost the
- 30:15Speaker 1: church pews trying to roll a six. So as of
- 30:19Speaker 1: this coming sun of the time congregation will be standing
- 30:22Speaker 1: for service. So I don't know what you want to
- 30:25Speaker 1: do about this, but we have no pews because he
- 30:27Speaker 1: lost them in the crap game. Where the pews, I
- 30:31Speaker 1: don't know. I think somebody from another church won the
- 30:33Speaker 1: crap games so they got the pews. Oh h, we'll
- 30:36Speaker 1: give me them. I'm gonna go. You're listening to Steve
- 30:41Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Anger and frustration over the government shut down.
- 30:48Speaker 1: People want social and political change, of course, and millions
- 30:52Speaker 1: of women marched this past weekend for female empowerment, hoping
- 30:56Speaker 1: to create political movements that will elect more them into
- 31:00Speaker 1: government office. Uh. You know, and we can do it.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I mean, we're such great multitaskers. We can do it, absolutely,
- 31:07Speaker 1: And I think it would. I think it would take
- 31:12Speaker 1: some of the male bravado ego bipartisan ship out of it. Um,
- 31:22Speaker 1: you know, not saying that all curate. I just think too.
- 31:27Speaker 1: From my standpoint, I think that these women who are
- 31:32Speaker 1: so upset and wanting to be heard for their rights,
- 31:38Speaker 1: for their feelings, and a lot of anger is aimed
- 31:42Speaker 1: at the president because you know, this goes off into DOCTA,
- 31:48Speaker 1: this goes off into the immigration laws. They're up there.
- 31:52Speaker 1: They're upset because families are being torn apart because certain
- 31:56Speaker 1: people can't come back in the country. I had a
- 31:59Speaker 1: group of Syrian women who were at my show and
- 32:02Speaker 1: their mother was there and their two daughters. They were
- 32:04Speaker 1: in their twenties, but she had come from Syria to visit.
- 32:08Speaker 1: The question they had from me for Hey, Steve, was
- 32:11Speaker 1: my mom wants to know should she stay in this
- 32:13Speaker 1: country with us or go back to her husband in Syria.
- 32:17Speaker 1: If she goes back to her husband in Syria, she
- 32:19Speaker 1: can't come back because of the travel band and she'll
- 32:23Speaker 1: never see her daughters again. Or should she go back
- 32:27Speaker 1: to her husband. And the woman is torn because she's
- 32:30Speaker 1: over here visiting her daughters and she'll never uh and
- 32:34Speaker 1: she goes back to be with her husband. She can
- 32:36Speaker 1: never come back in the country again because she was
- 32:39Speaker 1: over here before the band. Her husband can't come to
- 32:43Speaker 1: see his wife or kids, and she's afraid if she's
- 32:46Speaker 1: going back, she'll never see her daughters again. Man, I mean,
- 32:53Speaker 1: it's nothing I could tell her. What can I say?
- 32:55Speaker 1: She has to make that decision, But to go to
- 32:59Speaker 1: go back could be to never come back. And I
- 33:03Speaker 1: think I said, well, you know, I mean your husband
- 33:06Speaker 1: could try to get in, but the way they got
- 33:08Speaker 1: them passports, you can't. And so these are the things
- 33:11Speaker 1: the women are fighting against because women are about families.
- 33:15Speaker 1: They're watching families getting torn apart. You're talking about if
- 33:18Speaker 1: you don't pass this Dreamers bill, all of these uh
- 33:22Speaker 1: kids who came here unbeknownst or not even of their
- 33:25Speaker 1: own but their taxpayers. And they're educated, and they've got
- 33:31Speaker 1: and this is all they know. If they're of a country,
- 33:33Speaker 1: is this one, and you want to send them back.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Women are fighting for so much more, and black women
- 33:39Speaker 1: to steve and you know, women have compassion for other people,
- 33:46Speaker 1: which is what these men in power don't have. They
- 33:49Speaker 1: don't zero understand no compassion, they don't they don't have it.
- 33:55Speaker 1: They're well, yeah we are. And I was gonna say
- 33:59Speaker 1: Black men are coming to the forefront because of our
- 34:02Speaker 1: our our voting power, what we did in Alabama. You know,
- 34:05Speaker 1: we want that to continue. People are recognizing that we're
- 34:08Speaker 1: the backbone, you know, yeah, the Democratic Party and all
- 34:12Speaker 1: of this, and so I mean it changes coming, which
- 34:15Speaker 1: is a great thing. Changes coming, and hopefully utilize that
- 34:18Speaker 1: this year we will carry this because now I think
- 34:21Speaker 1: we learned from the Alabama election that if you vote,
- 34:24Speaker 1: your vote does matter, Yes, does that it does count,
- 34:27Speaker 1: and that there are a lot of seats up coming
- 34:30Speaker 1: up in the House and Senate and that could change
- 34:36Speaker 1: and tip the power so that this White House that's
- 34:39Speaker 1: in here now can't just run them up with these
- 34:42Speaker 1: crazy decisions. They just they're doing some unheard of stuff.
- 34:47Speaker 1: This guy is so unpresidential man. And just you know
- 34:51Speaker 1: it's the women are making a great statement. We'll come on, Steve,
- 34:56Speaker 1: it's time. Uh, let's get she's here. Uh. The one
- 35:00Speaker 1: and only miss and Trip. Thanks Steve Shirley, everybody out there,
- 35:05Speaker 1: thank you very much. This is and Trip with today's news. Okay,
- 35:08Speaker 1: Today marks the third day the government's partial shut down
- 35:11Speaker 1: and the first regular work day. Hundreds of thousands of
- 35:14Speaker 1: federal workers around the country are affected. Me While Republican
- 35:16Speaker 1: and Democratic lawmakers are accusing each other of the legislative stalemate,
- 35:21Speaker 1: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says, though he's still talking,
- 35:24Speaker 1: I am happy to continue my discussion with the majority
- 35:28Speaker 1: leader about reopening the government. We've had several conversations. Talks
- 35:31Speaker 1: will continue, and a vote in a new measure, by
- 35:34Speaker 1: the way, is set for noon today. Meanwhile, the President
- 35:36Speaker 1: tweeted yesterday morning that quote, the Dems just want illegal
- 35:40Speaker 1: immigrants to pour into our nation unchecked, a reference to
- 35:44Speaker 1: the democrats demand that any new government funding bill also
- 35:46Speaker 1: protect the people who were brought here illegally as children,
- 35:49Speaker 1: those under DACA protection, the dreamers. Trump's reelection campaign, though,
- 35:52Speaker 1: puts out this ad stop illegal immigration. Now, Democrats who
- 35:57Speaker 1: stand in our way will be complicit in every murder
- 36:00Speaker 1: committed by a legal immigrant. That's what they put out.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Trump said he signed a renewal of doctor if the
- 36:05Speaker 1: Democrats supported his border wall. Democrats say they do support
- 36:08Speaker 1: shoring up the wall, but they say Trump's demands keep changing.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Here's what the shutdown means for US. Now, it's a
- 36:13Speaker 1: partial shutdown. Post offices are open. There's be mail delivery,
- 36:17Speaker 1: social Security check seal being mailed out. Passport agencies open, however,
- 36:20Speaker 1: passport applications could be delayed. The airports are open. All
- 36:23Speaker 1: the national parks are closed except the lip Statute of Liberty,
- 36:27Speaker 1: which the State of New York is paying to keep open.
- 36:30Speaker 1: All active duty military personnel working government functions related to
- 36:33Speaker 1: emergency or disaster assistance continue to operate. However, of the
- 36:37Speaker 1: more than two million civilian employees of the federal government,
- 36:39Speaker 1: about eight hundred fifty thousand are going to be furloughed.
- 36:42Speaker 1: If it's last until February, all this death benefit checks
- 36:45Speaker 1: of the families of deceased military members will not go out,
- 36:48Speaker 1: the military won't be paid. The processing of federal loans
- 36:51Speaker 1: and permit applications that we put on hold. Also, private
- 36:54Speaker 1: companies with government contracts could furlough their employees too. Size
- 36:59Speaker 1: of gatherings in New York working with several two days
- 37:01Speaker 1: of weekend women's marches, just not in this country, but
- 37:04Speaker 1: in cities around the world. It was called the Women's
- 37:06Speaker 1: March of seventeen, their official anniversary, and one Detroit activist
- 37:10Speaker 1: says the movement should be inclusive. Say we want to
- 37:12Speaker 1: work together, but we have to actually work together and
- 37:14Speaker 1: not just be all about to talk all about the
- 37:17Speaker 1: walk to We have to have to have to include
- 37:19Speaker 1: everybody in the process. And tops of the box office
- 37:22Speaker 1: this weekend, Drew Mangi Welcome to the Jungle for the
- 37:24Speaker 1: third week in a row. In both North America and overseas,
- 37:29Speaker 1: the Dwayne Johnson Kevin Hart Comedies fifth five week told
- 37:32Speaker 1: domestic total three hundred seventeen million dollars back keep twenty
- 37:36Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, you got Eugena the Butterfly coming.
- 37:38Speaker 1: So stay tuned the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening
- 37:42Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Steve, please introduced Jay,
- 37:45Speaker 1: then J You in turn introduced the Butterfly and let

- 38:40Speaker 1: done talking about that day? I'm talking ta go here?
- 38:47Speaker 1: So disrespectful, J. Anthony Brown. I never thought you wouldn't
- 38:50Speaker 1: come to this. It's been a very very frustrating weekend
- 38:53Speaker 1: for me. So good morning everyone. Shirley Carla Jr. What happened?
- 38:59Speaker 1: What happened to her? What outfit to Hi? No, he
- 39:06Speaker 1: did not allow me to be on stage this past weekend.
- 39:10Speaker 1: You didn't want He didn't allow me to perform. No,
- 39:14Speaker 1: he didn't. I didn't know. Was that bad one killing
- 39:19Speaker 1: his own career? Eugene? He did the whole show without you.
- 39:22Speaker 1: The entire shot me open and did not let any
- 39:25Speaker 1: of us on understand. He just did what he wanted
- 39:28Speaker 1: to do. Your head didn't just watch? Did you get
- 39:32Speaker 1: in an argument? I mean what, I don't know what happened?
- 39:35Speaker 1: Anybody leave? Did anybody ask y'all? Was it to read?
- 39:40Speaker 1: Anybody when their money? No one said where is Eugene?
- 39:49Speaker 1: And he just didn't in the room. Nobody he did.
- 39:54Speaker 1: He did not allow me to perform, and that when
- 39:57Speaker 1: he did, I just wanted to be upd he's not here.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I want my money. But would you have done? Yeah?
- 40:03Speaker 1: If you don't want to? Is this is last time
- 40:05Speaker 1: in uh West Palm? What would you have done? What
- 40:10Speaker 1: would say? Where is Tommy? We have take his side?
- 40:15Speaker 1: Yeah he hasn't. He hasn't spoken to me since Friday? Tommy, Yeah,
- 40:21Speaker 1: what's happening? What happened? Is this true? The butterfly said,
- 40:25Speaker 1: you didn't let him perform this weekend? I didn't need him,
- 40:28Speaker 1: just decided not to use him this week Well, I
- 40:32Speaker 1: usually what I want to I don't have to use it.
- 40:34Speaker 1: So what are we talking? Yeah? You just to use him?
- 40:39Speaker 1: He he he was under the impression if I feel
- 40:42Speaker 1: like I need you if I don't. Are you trying
- 40:44Speaker 1: to get away from those two characters? We stand out
- 40:47Speaker 1: on you? We gotta go. We'll discuss this later in
- 40:50Speaker 1: the show. Coming up. J Anthony Brown is here to
- 40:54Speaker 1: murder another hit. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Steve,
- 41:00Speaker 1: let's get your boy in here to make us laugh.

- 42:03Speaker 1: get up until the butterfly. If he comes, I'll give him.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I've decided, Steve, since you give me some much trouble
- 42:17Speaker 1: that I'm not going to insult any of your friends.
- 42:20Speaker 1: The last song that I did that didn't sult with
- 42:22Speaker 1: somebody from now, and I'm gonna do songs about subjects
- 42:25Speaker 1: I'm not gonna insult. I'm not. This song says I'm sorry.
- 42:31Speaker 1: I'm not gonna insult anybody. If they're in the news
- 42:33Speaker 1: and they do something stupid, I'm not gonna him do it.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I don't believe that I'm letting it roll. I don't
- 42:39Speaker 1: believe that hit it. I can't do what's like. I'm
- 42:55Speaker 1: always wrong about the words in my song. And I
- 42:59Speaker 1: wake up Benna read my text. All my friends see
- 43:02Speaker 1: I'm wrong. It ain't me at funk, don't make it
- 43:05Speaker 1: up singing what's in the news. Well, I must be
- 43:09Speaker 1: good because all my song is getting everyone not blues.
- 43:13Speaker 1: No matter what you think, let me tell you it
- 43:16Speaker 1: was I was done with love. I'm just the fun
- 43:18Speaker 1: of tell I've keeping it together and like that. It's
- 43:21Speaker 1: like that every little joker make be Bonne get scared.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Live thing I say, the man for ever, have little
- 43:33Speaker 1: joker make be Bone get scared? Loving the same the
- 43:39Speaker 1: man for ever and little can't take that. Joe and
- 43:49Speaker 1: litting nothing and can't take God, Joe the Man deep
- 44:06Speaker 1: and let your friends. Don't Steve, they do something stupid.
- 44:08Speaker 1: They say that's my favorite song you've done. Say they
- 44:13Speaker 1: say that was my favorite song you've ever done. I
- 44:18Speaker 1: don't care what they do. I'm not saying. I'm not
- 44:21Speaker 1: going about it. I could care what they do. You'll
- 44:23Speaker 1: never do another Trump, never never, never another Tyres. He
- 44:28Speaker 1: can cry whatever you wanna do, not touching it, turning
- 44:33Speaker 1: over a new leaf. You ain't gonna do a song
- 44:35Speaker 1: on mo me, Well, I might do a d that
- 44:40Speaker 1: wasn't gonna last. I knew I wasn't gonna last. I
- 44:44Speaker 1: was calling you jaw. I can see it. James Tops

- 45:06Speaker 1: You're doing too much. Jack. Yeah, I want you to
- 45:12Speaker 1: stop that right now, because you're setting my girl coming
- 45:16Speaker 1: there funny. Ain't gonna sitting there going Damn No. Shirley
- 45:22Speaker 1: isn't funny, She's just you. She's not. I'm trying to
- 45:27Speaker 1: co Sherley Strawberry is not funny. No, no, she's not.
- 45:33Speaker 1: She's funny on this show when she does that snip

- 52:56Speaker 1: of that. Thank you for coming to see me. You
- 52:58Speaker 1: hear that uncle Steve and he had a black You
- 53:00Speaker 1: haven't even you haven't even mentored him yet. I want
- 53:04Speaker 1: to hear about this show without Eugene. Yeah, what do
- 53:08Speaker 1: you do? What do you mean? What did I do?
- 53:10Speaker 1: I did though? What do you think I did? But normally, okay, Tommy,
- 53:15Speaker 1: we're not crazy. Normally when you do stand up, you
- 53:18Speaker 1: do it with Eugene. Eugene has a set because that
- 53:21Speaker 1: we're crazy. Hello, jam have a set. Yeah, that's not
- 53:29Speaker 1: a bad question. I'm asked. I got, I got tired,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I took a break. But he's he's just but warning you. Yeah,
- 53:37Speaker 1: but I knew I didn't give them a warning. Very upset.
- 53:41Speaker 1: And you do see one of them singers and they
- 53:42Speaker 1: won't sing the hits, you know, yeah, or they want
- 53:47Speaker 1: the audience. I know y'all know this. When I'm gonna
- 53:49Speaker 1: do something special tonight, I'm new I've been working happened. Frankly,
- 53:55Speaker 1: don't do before let go? It's the problem. Oh bless
- 54:01Speaker 1: your so tell me back to you. I mean, don't
- 54:06Speaker 1: you give him a warning or something clearly expecting We
- 54:11Speaker 1: brought all of his his gear and everything, and I
- 54:14Speaker 1: just I didn't. I just didn't feel like him. I
- 54:17Speaker 1: just didn't. You know, he's upset, right, but he'll get over, Shirley.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I mean, he'll have a shot sometime down the line,
- 54:23Speaker 1: sometimes year. We'll let him output. You know. Is this normal? Yes?
- 54:29Speaker 1: Felt refreshing, felt so good? Is Eugene? I mean, it's
- 54:34Speaker 1: the butterfly there is he? Because did you hear what happened?
- 54:40Speaker 1: I heard everything? But if I would, why build up
- 54:43Speaker 1: the whole week making me think I'm going to work,
- 54:46Speaker 1: making me think I'm going to my public is going
- 54:48Speaker 1: to see me? Why do that? And then't wait till
- 54:50Speaker 1: Friday to day? I'm not using you? Why? Well? I
- 54:57Speaker 1: guess we'll talk about this a little more coming up,
- 55:02Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, and good
- 55:06Speaker 1: Today's Strawberry Letter. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 55:13Speaker 1: The Strawberry Letter is up next. It is a good letter.
- 55:15Speaker 1: You don't want to miss this letter today. But first
- 55:19Speaker 1: you're waking up this morning, I know, frustrated, like we
- 55:21Speaker 1: all are about what's going on in g C, in Washington,
- 55:24Speaker 1: these politics, um and the climate everything. This past weekend,
- 55:29Speaker 1: the Women's March was a good thing though. You know,
- 55:32Speaker 1: women came out in droves. Yeah, I mean really really
- 55:37Speaker 1: to just protest and show how frustrated they are with
- 55:41Speaker 1: what's going on in Washington. Of course, the government shut down,
- 55:45Speaker 1: it was a big topic as well. Uh celebrities Viola Davis,
- 55:49Speaker 1: Whoopi Goldberg, and women march from coast to coast in
- 55:52Speaker 1: this country and all over the world, demanding social and
- 55:56Speaker 1: political change. Women rally for justice, immigration, racial and gender equality,
- 56:02Speaker 1: shouts after the government workers because they're really feeling it
- 56:06Speaker 1: and no idea what's gonna happen. Man, I mean, it's
- 56:09Speaker 1: just not a good time, you know. Like I'm like,
- 56:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man, I'm really done with politics. I'm
- 56:15Speaker 1: not done with voting, but I'm not involving myself in
- 56:19Speaker 1: the political process anymore. With self for voting, you know,
- 56:23Speaker 1: I will you know, I don't mind discussing the issues,
- 56:26Speaker 1: but I've I've found out what happens. Man. We put
- 56:29Speaker 1: these people in office, and there's just bipartisanship that they
- 56:33Speaker 1: have to abide by. And no matter how wrong it is,
- 56:36Speaker 1: if that's your party stands, that's the one you take.
- 56:40Speaker 1: And it's just ridiculous, man. It is ridiculous man, that
- 56:45Speaker 1: they do the things that they do and the people
- 56:48Speaker 1: that affect on us. This government shutdown affects a lot
- 56:52Speaker 1: of Republicans, Democrats, and independence. It's a lot of people
- 56:57Speaker 1: whose checks are gonna get messed over on all sides
- 57:01Speaker 1: of it. So, now, how do you explain this to
- 57:04Speaker 1: your constituents while they're up there playing politics? Why are
- 57:09Speaker 1: we even in a position? Why do we have to
- 57:12Speaker 1: even vote to keep the government open. Ain't that the
- 57:14Speaker 1: dumbest damn thing you've ever heard? Who? Who? Why are
- 57:19Speaker 1: we voting to keep the government open? It should be
- 57:23Speaker 1: an automatic thing. You have to fund the government. We
- 57:27Speaker 1: in it, and all of us who pay taxes all
- 57:31Speaker 1: the time, we have no say so in this. We're
- 57:34Speaker 1: just sitting up in here, and I'm telling you flat out, man,
- 57:37Speaker 1: we have a bunch of idiots in White House sitting
- 57:40Speaker 1: up in here playing politics. But that but see, guess
- 57:43Speaker 1: what the Senator's money The Senate's money does not change.
- 57:48Speaker 1: They still get paid, they still get this. You have
- 57:50Speaker 1: some senators that are refusing their paycheck right now. Something
- 57:53Speaker 1: that's bull crap. I heard him say that to one
- 57:56Speaker 1: senator time. Aw, he won't take his check. No, no, no, no, Spoolcraft,
- 58:01Speaker 1: you're rich. You you can mess a check because you're
- 58:05Speaker 1: not living check to check. But for the average person,
- 58:09Speaker 1: they're living check to check. Feel some type of way.
- 58:13Speaker 1: So and he's gonna he's gonna not take his check
- 58:16Speaker 1: for how long he noticed, only gonna last a long time.
- 58:18Speaker 1: That's just a little employ to get some type of attention.
- 58:22Speaker 1: But like this, one guy tried to put together this
- 58:24Speaker 1: proposal that when the Senate gets shut down, it affects
- 58:28Speaker 1: all of their money. But it don't. It affects eight
- 58:33Speaker 1: hundred thousand people. That's almost a million people, and that's
- 58:40Speaker 1: a lot of people whose money will get delayed. I
- 58:43Speaker 1: just think it's a bunch of crap. It's a bunch
- 58:46Speaker 1: of crap. Those people still go to work state, Well,
- 58:51Speaker 1: I'm not. They have to go to work time, and
- 58:56Speaker 1: they were told to go to work to be told
- 58:58Speaker 1: that they don't have to come to work. That's work
- 59:01Speaker 1: for the government they gotta go to so they can
- 59:03Speaker 1: tell them essential workers and none. Yeah, essential workers gotta go.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Then have to go essential work like the f A
- 59:11Speaker 1: traffic controllers. Those type of people are essential workers. They
- 59:14Speaker 1: have to go to work. But I'm not. But I'm
- 59:18Speaker 1: not getting my check. No, no, But but you have
- 59:22Speaker 1: the lives of so many people, you know. Well, yeah,
- 59:26Speaker 1: it's just you think twice because we know you're not
- 59:31Speaker 1: going And I just hate the blank get my money.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I'm not going down. I hate all right, nephew, Let's
- 59:40Speaker 1: take it to the letter. All right, buckle up, hold on, type,
- 59:43Speaker 1: we got it for you. If it is a Strawberry letter.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Strawberry letter, time, subject mother in law, subject, ye, hold on,
- 59:59Speaker 1: let me have I wrote it says, good morning everyone, Steve, Shirley,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Carla and Tommy. I'm having some issues. My mother in
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: law is going through some problems financial and needs some support. Now,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: let's start from the beginning. Steve. I married my wife
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: in ninety two, back from the First War in the desert.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Since then, I've been not the nine one one of
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: her family. My father in law broke camp and told me,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: son in law, you better leave while you got the
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: chance I didn't understand what was going on or what
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: he meant. Then my wife has four younger sisters, and
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: she's the only one that's married and stable. I've heard
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: it all and yes, even seen it too. I'm a
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: strong man and grew up without a father. I have
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: three beautiful babies, ranging from thirteen to nine, by my wife.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I love her to death, and I'll tell you why, Steve,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: I was a dog when she met me and married me.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: It took me about two years after marriage to realize
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: what I had. She stuck by me. I got myself
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: together and devoted myself to her to forsake all others. Now,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I've put up with the in laws, thinking that this
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: was punishment for all my infidelities. I've helped out with cars, rent,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: house payments, bills, bankruptcies, and even got an apartments in
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: my name. Now my wife will probably Now, my wife
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: will probably hear this. She listens to you, also, know
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: my wife. No, my wife will probably well, every every other, Yeah,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: it's every other. It's now. It means now you'll see
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: when you read the letter back. Uh, Now, my wife
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: will probably hear this. She listens to you also. But
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I married her not her family. My God, haven't I
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: suffered enough? Brett can't do it anymore. I've considered running away,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: but can't leave my babies, don't want to leave her.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: What should I do? Dazed and confused? Well, what I
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: don't know? Yeah, this is very easy. But I mean
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I'm saying who because he's up in it. Uh, you know,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: you can just say no, day sin confused, you know,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: just say you don't have it. Okay, as soon as
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: you start giving, they'll stop taking. Just say it, you know,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: cut cut her family off. You did marry her and
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: not the family. We'll have part two of Steve's response
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: to the Strawberry letter today at twenty three after the
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: hour you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Alright, Steve,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: come on, let's get to part two of your response
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: to today's Strawberry letter. Alright, Helle, okay, Hey, good morning everyone, Steve, Sherley, Carlin, Tommy.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I'm having some issues. My mother in law is going
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: through some problems financially needs some support. Now, let's start
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: at the beginning, Steve, I man and my wife and
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: back from the first one in the desert. Since then,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: I've been nine one one of her family. I've been
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: one of her family. My father in law broke camp
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: and told me, son in law, you better leave where
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: you got the chance. I ain't understand what was going
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: on or what he meant. Then, my wife has four
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: younger sisters and she's the only one that's married. And statement,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I've heard it all, yes, even seen it too. I'm
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: a strong man and grew up without a father. I
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: have three beautiful babies ranging from thirteen to nine, by
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: my wife. I love her to death, and I'll tell
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: you why, Steve, I was a dog when she met
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: me and married me. Took me about two years after
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: manage to realized what I had. She stuck by me.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I got myself together and devoted myself to her, forsaking
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: all others. Now I put up with the end. Now,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: I put up with the in laws, thinking this was
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: punishment for all my infidelities, out to help that would
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: cause rent, house payment, build bankrupts, even got an apartments
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: in my name. Now, my wife's gonna probably hear this.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: She listened to you also, But I married her, not
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: her family, my god. Having I suffered enough my family
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: of no I would have considered running away, but I
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: can't leave my baby, don't want to leave her? What
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: should I do? Days that confused? Well, days that confused? Listen,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: it is you cannot seek your family trying to hold
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: up everybody else. Your responsibility is only, and I mean
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: only and solely to your wife and them kids. Outside
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: of that, anything you're doing is above and beyond, and
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: it ain't necessary. You ain't saying one vibe of her
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: mom in law, her little three trifling sisters. You ain't
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: said if God didn't ask you when you cleave, only
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: up to them, forsaken all the others. He didn't ask
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: you nothing. They ain't innvised. He don't even mention them.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I can't really think too many Bible versions got some
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: people mentioned in there. You ain't got to do nothing
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: for them. But now a dog is stretching you out
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: because you got a little problem. Because she's gonna be
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: hearing it. She gonna hear this, and now you probably
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: then bought it too it before, But she can't stop them.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: What you want her to do. Trifling is trifle. You
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: got your trif and family members out here. So what
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: do I say to you to handle this? As a solution?
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Days and confused start dazing and confusing them. See, you
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: ain't got the only one got to be days and confused.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Turn around in days and confused them. On the first
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: of the month, starting in January, go over there and
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: ask them for your rent. Oh, I don't got it,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: but just go ask him for your rent next time
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: your com payment. Do just go down there, say man, man,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: think y'all beat them to the podcast. You gotta confuse
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: them for his hand that's going on? Why is he
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: called the US for money? And we how was you know?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I was just about to call you? Damn you mean
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: I beat you to it, beat him to the point.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: You gotta daze and confused people. And from now on
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: your answer is we ain't got it. Bottom. Matter of fact,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: here's here's what I've done a couple of times. Now.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: This is very helpful to you because I have been
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: in this position where I've been trying to beat old
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Saint Nick fair by the time, you know. And then
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: when I first started doing good, time and need is thing.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: So here I go. When I first started doing better,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: I wanted to let everybody know I was doing better.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: I want to show him I'm doing better. So whenever
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: somebody called, yeah, ahead and I gave it to him.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: You go here, you go here, you go here, but
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: see you get out of here because they don't know
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: how to stop because now all of a sudden they
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: outage you. And what I proposed to people often time
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: when you got people always begging you for money, if
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: they didn't know you, what would they do if they
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: could not come to you, what would they do? That's
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: why there's no answer machine on my phone and why
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: you can't leave message. That's why I got everybody, and
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: if I don't recognize your name, it don't get picked
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: up because here's the deal right here. See, I can't
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: fix it for you. That's why anybody called me, used
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: to call me with messages. Man, I need to have
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: let you always wait two weeks to call everybody because
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: because emergencies passed in two weeks, ain't nobody got no
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: emergency for two damn weeks after they gotta quit being emergency.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: All right, Steve, you know we gotta get out of here.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: You can email us or instagram us your thoughts on
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter at my girl surely and please join
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: me this coming Thursday because we are back on Facebook
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: live at one thirty PM for the after show Strawberry Letter.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: You can come this Thursday. Let's switching gears. Just because
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: the President made it okay for all the newspeople to
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: the news anchors to say that word, the S word.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: You think you can just do it now? Huh Hey, Steve,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: I have to ask you this question. Did you see
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: the NFL Division games yesterday? Did you see anything? As
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: hard as I was hoping that Jacksonville would be the
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Patriots of my disdain for the Patriots is I love
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Tom Brady because he is just a baller man, but
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: I can't stand it. Damn Patriots. I just can't man.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: And as hard as I wanted, I think it's Bella
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Jacksonville to win it. I knew good in Hell, well
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: in my heart of hearts, but I set that a
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: whole game. Come on, come on now, listen to Philly.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Just because of the city of Philly. I wanted Philly
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: to win, and they came through. Indeed, the dark old
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: things Eagles right, and they did it without wits, which
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: is really surprising. I felt good on week. I felt
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: good coming to the game. We have such a close
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: nick group of players that we all mean on each other.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: So it takes away for the nerves. You have the
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: natural nerves, but just coming out here and competing as
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: an offense tief and specialties, we felt great old day
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: and we were able to come away with a huge victory.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Nick Voles is a decent quarterback though, But they went
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: on their there and shot the boy. I'm you know,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: especially and you know Viking's head had written all over him.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: To day was gonna go, especially after that, after that
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Fantasy football play, that fat head poster he made, right right,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: all right, we gotta go. The big game is set
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: for Sunday, February fourth, at the US Bank Stadium in
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: where Minnapolis Men. Episode all right, coming up at forty
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: one after the hour, Monique wants you to boycott Netflix.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I can't watch rip Day. What is
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: you talking about? You're listening to Steve Harvey morning show
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: comedian and Oscar winning actress. Some people forget that she
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: has one in Oscar. She won one from Rush. Uh.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Monique went in hard on Oprah, She went in on
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Tyler Perry and of course producer and director Lee Daniels.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: She went on on them for for not paying her
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: failure treating her equally when they all collaborated to do
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the movie Precious and then after that as well. Now
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Monique wants fans to boycott Netflix. That's right after she
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: was offered half a million dollars that's five hundred thousand
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: dollars uh to do a special on Netflix. UH, citing
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: that comedian and actress Amy Schumer, Chris Rock, and Dave
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Chappelle received millions for their specials. For their comedy specials
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: on Netflix, Monique said Amy Schumer negotiated a deal for
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: thirteen million, while Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle each received
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: twenty million. Monique said in a video that the company
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: was being gender and color biased. Take a listen, hey
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: my loves I am asking that you stand with me
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: and boycott Netflix for gender bias and color bias. It
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: was also a five thousand dollars to last to do
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: a comedy special. However, Amy Schuman was off an eleven
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: million dollars, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle twenty million dollars.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Then Amy Shuman went back and renegotiated two more million
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: dollars because she said, I shouldn't get with the men
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: are getting their legends. However, I should get more, and
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Netflix agreed. When we asked Netflix to explain the difference
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: why the money was so different, they said, well, we
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: believe that's what Moniqua bring. We said, well, what about
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: my resume? They said, we don't go off of resumes.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Then we asked them what was it about Amy Schumer
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: and they said, well, she sold out Madison Square Garden
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: twice and she had a big movie over the summer.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Is that not Amy Schuman's resume? And the Netflix said,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: by the way, we believe Monique is a legend too.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Why shouldn't I get with the legends of getting Please
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: stand with me in this boycott of Netflix. I love
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: us for real. Okay, step now I'm gonna left y'all comment.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Go ahead. Well, that is a color difference. She pay
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: on them black anti Yeah, but Amy's white, so she
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: said gender. She said gender and color. I kind of
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: agree with her up until the boycoot because there's some
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: stuff on Netflix. I really like what you know and
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: this I understand her battles, understand her point, wouldn't understand
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: her point, but you know there's something you have. You
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: already paid my subscription, so you know what I'm gonna
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: do well. I think it was. I think it was
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: a business decision from Netflix because there was a telling
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: um thing in there that Monique said. When they went
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: back to to negotiate or to renegotiate, they said, five
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars is what we believe you would bring.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: So to me, they were basing it on that what
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: they told her, this is what we believe you Monique
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: would bring to Netflix. We believe it's five hundred thousand dollars.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: It didn't have anything to do with I guess who Monique.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: I think what Monique thinks she would bring. But that's
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: that's how you negotiate. You negotiated as to what you
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: think you right. And I understand and I support her
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: in that. I support her for she could do whatever
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: she wants to do. I definitely support her for going
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: in and trying to get whatever she could from Netflix. Yeah,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I'd be there that day. I'd signed at two feet
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: you give him chicken tips, I'm there. Yeah, But somebody
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: has to take a stand. I mean, she's taking a
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: stand for herself for what in Yeah, definitely she's got
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: taking a stand. What you paying the men a lot
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: of money and five hundred dollars. In her point of view,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: it's just not fair. But what you paying other people? Yeah?
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: Right right, yeah, and we all know life isn't fair.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: But she said it herself. Netflix told her this is
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: what we've leave. We're we came after you or whatever,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: but this is what we believe you'll bring. But I'll
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: tell you what, if she got one right now, everybody
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: will watch you. But you can go back and negotiate
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: without having the boycott something right right. See, here's here's
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: my opinion on and me and Mobien friends for a
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: long time. I think what has happened here now. First
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: of all, Netflix is a subscription based thing, right, they
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: have every right to set the parameters for what they
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: believe they can get on the return on their money.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: So that's their deal. What Monique is saying has some
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: validity to it. But here's the problem this Amy Schumer,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: who Monique is funnier than Amy Schum. Let's let's they're
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: not paying you for how funny you are. They're paying
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: you for how they think they can get their money back. Now,
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Amy Schumer, as however you feel about her comedy being
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: as funniest mode, which she's not to me personally. But
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: she sold out Madison Square Garden twice and a big movie.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: She has proven her draw ability. This is just about
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: your draw ability. Hey, Steve, let me. Can I ask
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: you one quick question before even has Monique I don't
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: know this, but has Monique sold out Madison Square Garden
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: er been to Medicine? Not not to my knowledge. It's
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: just a question, okay, because it would have been easy
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: for her to say, hey, look I sold out Madison
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Square Garden too. That would have been very easy. So
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: I don't think so. That would have been the first argument, Yeah,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I sold out Medicine Square Garden, you know. Man. Then
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: they could have said, oh wow, we didn't know that
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: that there's a way to go about it. I think
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: what has happened to my friend Mole is her reputation
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: precedes her. Now. Yeah, in this business is such a
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: small circle, and Hollywood is a gossip business, y'all. It's
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: a gossip business. They all know everything. They heard what
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: you said about Tyler and and and Lee and and
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: and over. They heard that, they heard about the business
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: would be et, They heard about that. They've heard about
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: the rants and they got pole star numbers. They know
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: what we sell in these concerts, so they know. And
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I just think that what has happened to more at
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: this point and sad because she's such a cool person. Man.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I think her reputation precedes her now coming up at
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: the top of the hour. It starts out like this,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: but what they really need is more money. You're listening
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Steve, So we were talking
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: about the Monique situation. She's called for us to boycott
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: stand with her in boycott Netflix because she feels she
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: was unfairly treated by them, giving way less money than um,
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle. She charged,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: she's charging them with race and gender bias. Well, look,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Tommy said, race is the two the highest paid people
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: on Netflix in comedy are black and Jior. They did
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: pay Amy Schuman, they may be paying somebody else. I
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: thought that the thing to do was to go back
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: in and renegotiate. I didn't know that the thing was
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: to be was to go back in boycott because I
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: don't think now Netflix is a play anymore. But I
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: thought she reading and that's what it was. She's boycotting.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: After she went in to renegotiate right and already I
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: don't know. The point is she was supposed to call
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: for the boycott. Well, she can call for the boy
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: because protests is a part of the American way, you know.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: And she has a fan base past weekend, and she
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: has a fan base that will stand with her and
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: will boycott Netflix. But it just something always seems like
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: she's always fighting somebody. And that's the point that Steve's making.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: That's the point of her reputation is preceding her now.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: So maybe she could take the five hundred thousand dollars
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: and start over. I don't. I don't. She's not going
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: to take the five hundred because it's an insult to her.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: She's not going to take the five hundred. You can't
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: call for a ball boycott and didn't turn around and go, well,
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: give me the money. So I think that door is closed.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: I think the movie business it's rough because the people
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: who are in the movie business. I don't. I don't
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: know if she's burned that bridge or not. It's just tough, man,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: because mo is such a talented, fights more bad girl man.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: At one point in time, someone has to say, hey baby, look, hey,
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: you really think that's a smart move. And I don't know,
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, this all could work out
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: for her, but I've just I just think her reputation
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: now precedes or when she goes into any meeting. You've
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: written this, We've all been this comedy. People seem to
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: have this leading about how they really want to ask
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: for money. It started we all been there, had we
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: all been there? It starts it starts off with one phrase,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: but what they're really saying is can I borrow some money?
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Like for instance, so you call this. It starts out
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: like this, but what they really need is some more money.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: What they really need is some more money. It starts
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: out like this, and they said, like this guy said, Lotte, Damn,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I'm I'm happy to get two new ties because these
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: two I got shot. Now what they really won't your money? Yeah,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: but they won't say I need time, and man, I'm
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: gonna have to. I'll take off the end of the day,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: go get too new times. You got one? Yeah, I
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: do I have one? Start out like, yeah, man, I'm
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: gonna negotiate this for you. Oh I'm working this out. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Do I have one? Sound effect pop? You know, you
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: know they they're saying, I need a root canal, and
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: that's they're saying, that's gonna be fox hunting. That's what
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: they're telling me. I don't know. I just gonna keep
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: putting this stuff on it. I'm man, well, I will
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: sit around and chop it up with y'all, but I
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: gotta get on in before it get dog. The lights
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: is off at the house. It starts out like this,
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: But what they're really saying is they need some money.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: His one here one. You know them kids, cool clothes.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: They came fit what they will last year. Baby, you
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: gotta cut the toe out and let them feet for
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: that's what you got to do. They grow, they grow,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: they came. We lash your stuff. No, man, it's tough
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: on him. You got you wow, tell you what I got,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: daddy your hand? No money for you on the show
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: is the time for teams. But he's this personal. Surely
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: look at the time. I know it's getting uncomfortable. I
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: know what's telling me what it needs some more money.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: What y'all want to do. Just I can't. I can't
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: pull it out to happen. All this stuff is always real, though, Junior, listen,
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: um uh, your dad at truck. I noticed he'd just
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: be sitting there. I know that's real right there, nobody.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Don't nobody really be driving? You know mine is down
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: and you know it's eight hunting for me to get man.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: So but if you're a man, uh you and jacket,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: let me use your dad at Trump Wow it come
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: on uncle man? Hey, you ever have somebody tell you
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: they were gonna kill you if you ain't paying? What? What?
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: That's the closing right down all the way down like
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: the government? Wait? Wait, wait, wait one more time, one
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: more time. You ever you ever have somebody tell you
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: they're gonna kill you if your own pay? I ask.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna die by fried. You think you
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: can help me more more of this craziness when we
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: come back at twenty after. You're listening to the Steve
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, you cannot miss a moment
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: of Steve's daytime TV show. Okay it is star studed,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I mean star studing, Oh Jackson Jr. Gerard Butler and
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: the one and only, the one and only fifty cents. Alright.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: They have a new movie. It's called Den of Thieves.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: It's a movie about a group of thieves who are
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: set on robbing the Federal Reserve Bank of Los Angeles.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: The movie top this weekend's box office, and fifty and
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: the cast stopped by to talk to you, Steve about
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: their new movie. You also ask fifty about him reinventing himself.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Take a listen. I've watched Mada so proud of your evolution. Man,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: You've really reinvented yourself. I mean when you go from
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: what what what started? To evolution for you? What what
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: made you? Like? Once I got really invested in music,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: you know, that's initially all I wanted to work, Steve,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: and then the film and television stuff, I started to
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: look close at it and it was exciting. It's a
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: challenge for me to be a part of those projects
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: because the process is a little different. Like instinctively, when
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: I'm writing music, it's right the first time. When they
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: write film projects, you can write how many times they
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: write the script before it's done right, over and over
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: and over. So I'm like, Okay, this is a lot
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: less pressure. And I could give it to another writer
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: and tell him give me a pass of what you think. Yeah,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: let's talk about being the things problem. What's it about? Oh? Man? Well,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: we got um. It's a movie, obviously it's about It's
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: about a gang of criminals that are set to rob
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: the Federal Reserve Bank of Los Angeles and the cops
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: that are chasing them. The cops are a little gritty,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: they'll they'll break the law to uphold it, so they
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: don't really command the on the audiences respect as much
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: as the criminals who have gone on to serve their
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: country with the military training and brought back a skill
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: set they don't know how to use. Uh and because
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: of life circumstances, they end up putting it into a
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: life of crime. So now we're taking down the biggest,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: biggest job we can and that's a federal reserve. Yeah.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: I'm not trying to amazing the movie. I'm so glad.
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: Yeah killing describing the movie. I'll tell you what I
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: did to prepare for it. The he that's doing broken
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: into two groups where we had to do military and
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: law enforcement tactical training so the movements and everything inside
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: the film would be accurate. And it came down you know,
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: this is my movie. No, if you can move these
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: camels to where they can focus on just so what
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: is all these ain't fall? What was right here. Can
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: we just move it all over here? Who is the
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: star of the movie? All fifty? All fifty? I really
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: have these buthers coming out, Steve to support me. I
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: already have my acceptance pictures together. I had to take that.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: We're all the stars, We're all the stars. Were all
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: the stars. Got a problem with all the because they
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: bean too? They all horn Man, he's a millennium between
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: those guys. Was pretty good man. Congratulations Steve on all
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: of your success on your talk show. All of that
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: and your talk shows you're seeing renewed for another season. Yes,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: but stuff this week even I'm help me. I got
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: some more money coming in. Yeah, I butt some things.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: Congratulations to all you guys on the show. Than they back,
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: they ordered and cars now I'm in negotiation right now.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Ninety seven level game. Yeah alright, yeah yeah, crawl before
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: you watch your you better buy yourself. Didn't you see
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: me all my order? Some McAllen? All right, we'll be back.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Morning Show. Hey, Steve, I
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: have to ask you this question. Did you see the
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: NFL Division games yesterday? Did you see anything as hard
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: as I was hoping that Jacksonville would beat the Patriots.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: Calls of my disdain for the Patriots, But what's crazy
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: is I love Tom Brady because he is just a
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: baller man. But I can't stand the damn Patriots. I
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: just can't, man. And as hard as I wanted, I
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: think it's Bella Jacksonville to win it. I knew good
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: in hell well, in my heart of hearts, but I
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: set that a whole game. Come on, come on, here
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: we go. You ain't that far back for it, right.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: It's fun to watch though. It was fun to watch
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: them in Foxborough cold. That's why they loved. Now listen
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: to Philly just because of the city of Philly. I
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: want a Philly to win. Yeah. And they came through
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: and died the dugold Things Eagles, and they did it
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: without wits. Yeah, it's really surprising. I felt good all week.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: I felt good coming to the game. We have such
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: a close nick group of players that we all mean
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: on each other, so it takes away from the nerves.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: You have the natural nerves, but just coming out here
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: and compete as an offensive special teams. We felt great
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: all day and we were able to come away into
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: the huge stector. Nick Volds is a decent quarterback though,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: yes she is. But they went on in there and
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: shocked them. Boy, you know, especially and you know uh
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: Vikings had it written all over them. That day was
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: gonna go, especially after that, after that fantasy football play.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Damn John Badden highlights. Man, that fat head poster he
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: made right right? Man? Hey man? You know who you
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: know who I really want to reach out to though,
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: the kid from SLINKs, Yeah, I do. Man, they're killing
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: him on the internet wearing because I want to call
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: him because I've been woe out on the internet that
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: that miss universe I can call. Congratulations to the Eagles.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: That means who ever sells kicking wings. But to make
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: some more, it's wing game. Your wings all flats, baby,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: fat man? There were flavor bone in always yeah my
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: own end baby, yeah, I don't think you can have flats.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: You know. If I'm really upset about the wing places,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: they don't sell the tips and I'm really upsetting. No, no, no,
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: no no, it's just kicking wing. I want that. I
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: want the whole man, that's man, don't you cut back
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: on my wings? Word? What about your stick that's bristle?
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: What part of the wing do you like? I mean,
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: I'm mostly a flat guy. Like flat, I don't know,
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: they're just more flavorful or something. I used to be
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: a drumstick man growing up. Tattle, Well, when is it?
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: It is? In the trash? You're listening to stry morning show. Wow,
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: what a morning? So much the world? We did? You
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: brought your clothing? Remarks back? What's you guy for us today? Sir?
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: You know, look, man, my haters there's nothing I can
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: do about them. But it's also okay to have haters, because,
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: I mean, you need them. It justifies your efforts and
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: your work. If you're not doing anything, you don't have
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: to worry about haters. But the moment you try to
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: accomplish something, the moment you try to be more than them,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: the more. The moment you decide that you're gonna come up,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: the moment you make the decision that you're gonna be
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: better than you were before, you could prepare yourself for
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: the haters, because the haters work for an evil force.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: You know. Look, if you're not doing good, you're doing bad.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: If you're not doing right, you're doing evil. If you're
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: not being positive, you being negative. The devil is busy, man,
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: The devil here's your prayers to God. He knows what
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: God is capable of doing for you. And so the
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: devil's job is to intercept and interrupt all of that.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: He wants to intercept and interrupt all the blessings that
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: God has for you. So he asked people that's at
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: work for him all the time. But the stunning thing
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: about it is these people that work for the devil
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: all the time his imps. They're busy, man, they're busy.
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: I had a guy told me. I asked, asked a
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: guy one time, a Manut, why are you always hating?
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: He said, Man, that's what I do. I'm a hater.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: He said, Man, but I'm gonna get a huge following
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: Steve because I hate because I had approached to doing
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: about something he has said about me one time, not
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: that I really cared. I just asked him why he
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: did it. He says, Steve, you cool man, but you
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: would draw you draw people to my site. So when
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: I'm mentioned you, I get more followers. I'm gonna turn
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: that into money. So he has made a conscious decision
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: to be a paid hater. The problem that haters don't
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: understand is that you may become a paid hater. But
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: it also comes with the cost to you. It's a
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: simple principle in the Bible. Even when you were a
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: little kid and used to go to Sunday School and
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: you heard the the golden rule, do unto others as
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: you would have them do unto you. That is applicable
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: to the day you leave this world. I don't care
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: what business you get into or anything like that. It
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: applies all the line. Do unto others as you would
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: have them do unto you. So, if you're gonna be
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: in the hate business, you must be prepared to be
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: hated on, and you must be prepared to suffer the
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: consequences of a negative behavior. It's amazing, man. I'm telling
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: you all, stop stopping your climb, stop stopping your journey
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: to address all of these haters, because they are sent
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: as a worker. They are in empt to try to
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: intercept and impede and block blessings and things that God
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: has for you. Keep moving. Somebody. One of the bishops
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: sent me uh a letter one time and it simply says, Steve,
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: stay on the wall. Stay on the wall, And I went, wow, man,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: what what was it? So I eventually, I mean, it
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: made sense to me, but I call him to ask him.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: He said, hey, man, stay on the wall. Don't climb
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: down off the wall where God has taken all this
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: time to place you, to get back down on the
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: ground to deal with some people that ain't him. Up
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: on the wall, I said, man, but they're throwing rocks
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: at me. He said, throwing rocks that are as any
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: of them knocked you off the wall. I said, no,
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: I said, He said to some of them to hit
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: you in the back, hitch you upside the head of
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: them rock. But he said, but don't you keep going
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: up the wall? He said, why would you stop and
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: come down off the wall? Steve. So I'm saying to
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: everybody out there listening, you got to stay on the
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: wall wherever you are. Don't stop your assent to address
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: these haters. It's okay, You're going to be fine. They
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: are hating for a reason. They hate you because you
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: are something that they are not capable of being, and
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: they wish they was, And now sis you are and
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: they ain't here. Come to hate, you know, the best
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: way to deal with hate. Love. Love is the only
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: thing that conquers hate. You cannot conquer hate with more hate. Marla.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: The King knew that as well as anybody. Gandhi understood
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: that as well as anybody. You cannot conquer hate with
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: more hate. The only way to conquer hate is with love.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: It works. Man. The problem with hate is hate is
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: so much louder than love. But here's the joy of it.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: Though love is stronger than hate, hate dwindles and withers away. Love,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: just love, love, just last. I'll tell you what. Here's
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: another example. If you're in darkness, complete and total darkness,
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: and you're tired of the darkness. To get out of darkness,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: you don't do You don't go to more darkness. You
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: need light. Only light can get you out of darkness.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Only love can bring you out of hatred. It's the
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: only way it works. Whatever they're doing to you, that's
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: on a negative, you have to do differently to them
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: on a positive. Now you're not gonna like that because
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: it's gonna seem like the soft approach, But it's the
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: only thing that works. You just got to keep loving
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: them when they keep hating you. And that's hard to do.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: I know it is. For me. It's hard to do,
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: but I just keep on. When I see him, I
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: just go hey, look man, no no hard feelings and
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: keep going. You want to get out of darkness. You
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: need light. You want to get out of hatred. You
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: need love. That's it, all right, I love that. Y'all.
