- 1:58Speaker 1: back at it. Uh huh, I shall will. Good morning
- 2:03Speaker 1: everybody you are listening to the voice, Come on now
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me but one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:11Speaker 1: radio show. Thank God for it all the time too. Well,
- 2:14Speaker 1: here we go today. Since it's this time of the year,
- 2:19Speaker 1: I want to share something with you that I'll help
- 2:22Speaker 1: you because it's helped me. You know. I was telling
- 2:28Speaker 1: the story once that this magazine called rob Report, that
- 2:33Speaker 1: that was the statue I used to see for years.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I started buying robb Report magazines um years ago. So
- 2:42Speaker 1: I just wanted to see what the fluent people did,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know. I just wanted to see what people with
- 2:47Speaker 1: means did, what type of investments they did, what they bought,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, what they traveled to. Rob report is just like, oh,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it's like a big boy toy magazine. You see what
- 2:59Speaker 1: causes out. You know, I didn't have money for none
- 3:01Speaker 1: of it. Just I was dreaming though, you know, I
- 3:03Speaker 1: just wanted to see. And there's a statue inside this
- 3:09Speaker 1: magazine of this man who was coming out of this
- 3:14Speaker 1: bronze rock. And he was completely bronze, and he was muscular,
- 3:19Speaker 1: and you know, he didn't look nothing like me, but
- 3:21Speaker 1: he was a man coming up out of a rock.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And he had a huge hammer and a chisel in
- 3:26Speaker 1: his hand. And as his body from the waist up
- 3:30Speaker 1: was coming out of this huge piece of stone, you
- 3:32Speaker 1: could see where it was him who had been chiseling
- 3:35Speaker 1: and forming himself. So the name of the statue was
- 3:38Speaker 1: self made Man. And for years man I said, Man,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna get a big house one day, and I'm
- 3:45Speaker 1: gonna put that statue in the backyard in the corner.
- 3:48Speaker 1: That's gonna be my little spot where I go chill
- 3:51Speaker 1: because I'm a self made man. Well, after years of
- 3:55Speaker 1: working at becoming somebody and having reached a degree of
- 4:03Speaker 1: success I have, I would have nothing to do with
- 4:07Speaker 1: that statue. There's nothing about that statue that appeals to
- 4:11Speaker 1: me anymore. Because on my journey and in my quest
- 4:16Speaker 1: to become what I thought would be this self made man,
- 4:20Speaker 1: why I could put this statue and had a statue
- 4:23Speaker 1: in the corner be kind of cold symbolizing it I
- 4:25Speaker 1: had made it. I realized on my journey there's no
- 4:29Speaker 1: such thing as a self made man. That we all
- 4:32Speaker 1: need help, and that God places people in our paths
- 4:37Speaker 1: along the way that benefit us oftentimes, and it's the
- 4:42Speaker 1: most unlikely person off the times, and it's the most
- 4:46Speaker 1: unlikely way that He presents these people in front of
- 4:49Speaker 1: you is crazy. How he does it, man. And so
- 4:52Speaker 1: this is a statue now that I look at and
- 4:54Speaker 1: I go, I see what the creator was saying. And
- 4:57Speaker 1: that's cool, but now not for me, because I needed
- 5:02Speaker 1: help and I've learned a lot of things like this
- 5:06Speaker 1: along the way. And at this part of the year,
- 5:09Speaker 1: the part I wanted to share with you all about
- 5:12Speaker 1: this is you've got to develop You've got to develop
- 5:16Speaker 1: a sense of purpose. Now, notice what I said, I said,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you have to develop a sense of purpose. I didn't
- 5:24Speaker 1: say you had to go out and figure out a purpose.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You have to develop a sense of purpose. That's different.
- 5:31Speaker 1: See your purpose, it's created for you by God. Because
- 5:39Speaker 1: when He created you as an individual from whatever two
- 5:43Speaker 1: parents you may have, that's not important here. When he
- 5:47Speaker 1: created you, he had something in mind for you. Mhmm.
- 5:53Speaker 1: You you follow me. Now, when he created you, he
- 5:57Speaker 1: had something in mind for you. It was a purpose.
- 6:01Speaker 1: God has not created a single soul to become a criminal.
- 6:05Speaker 1: God has never created a single soul to be a
- 6:08Speaker 1: drug dealer, to become an addict, to become an alcoholic,
- 6:13Speaker 1: to become an abuser, a molester, a cheetah. He didn't
- 6:17Speaker 1: create none of this. This came about through some decisions
- 6:21Speaker 1: we made as sinners, and we stayed in that place.
- 6:26Speaker 1: But see, when He created us, he had a He
- 6:30Speaker 1: has a wonderful idea for us. But God gives us
- 6:34Speaker 1: human beings this thing called choice, and we have the
- 6:36Speaker 1: power to decide. So you can decide if you're gonna
- 6:40Speaker 1: adhere to the purpose that God created you and made
- 6:43Speaker 1: you for, or you can go ahead and make some
- 6:46Speaker 1: choices on your own. So like if God wanted to
- 6:51Speaker 1: give your life and give it to come to you
- 6:53Speaker 1: and give you life more abundantly. And that's his promise.
- 6:56Speaker 1: If you come to him, if you choose him, then cool.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But if you say, well this ain't moving along fast enough,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna get my own life of abundance, I'm gonna
- 7:05Speaker 1: start slinging. Well, guess what. Now you've made a decision.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And see God's decisions and choices. The one thing I
- 7:15Speaker 1: learned about them from Bishop Kenneth Oma God's decisions, choices,
- 7:19Speaker 1: his voice, It has no sin in it. Ain't it
- 7:22Speaker 1: amazing how many people that came up to you and say,
- 7:24Speaker 1: the Lord wanted me to do this to you, and
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm doing it. That God is punishing you, and I'm
- 7:29Speaker 1: doing this to you because God gonna see that you
- 7:31Speaker 1: get your day. Who who is this person? Who is
- 7:35Speaker 1: this person that God all of a sudden gave this
- 7:38Speaker 1: authority and power to? God didn't get that to nobody man,
- 7:42Speaker 1: nobody's person or had a right to hold you to
- 7:45Speaker 1: your past, the right to make you pay. So who
- 7:49Speaker 1: makes them pay when they make mistakes? Because they all
- 7:52Speaker 1: make them. So when I say you have to have
- 7:55Speaker 1: a sense of you have to develop a strong sense
- 7:57Speaker 1: of purpose. That means you have too strong only get
- 8:00Speaker 1: in touch with your creator to find out what the
- 8:02Speaker 1: purpose you were created for. See it's it's it's two
- 8:06Speaker 1: things that I had to learn along the way my career.
- 8:11Speaker 1: My career was what I was paid for. My calling
- 8:16Speaker 1: is what I was made for. See, it's two different things, folks.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It took me a long time to learn it, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: some people never really. Some people think that they calling
- 8:28Speaker 1: is to be a performer. Well, that's what you paid for,
- 8:31Speaker 1: and a big part of your life is your performance
- 8:34Speaker 1: is tied directly to your gift. But what you made for, though,
- 8:38Speaker 1: what you made for is to bring about some significant
- 8:42Speaker 1: change in another human beings lives because we are all
- 8:45Speaker 1: linked together in this chain. That's what you are here for.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Everybody has a purpose to do something wonderful, meaningful, or
- 8:54Speaker 1: impactful for another person. Show me the person that's not
- 8:59Speaker 1: made for that. I just want to know who is
- 9:03Speaker 1: it made to do that? Who isn't made to do
- 9:07Speaker 1: something that will that will affect the life for the
- 9:11Speaker 1: betterment and improvement of another person or people. You think
- 9:17Speaker 1: the guy that invented the airplane was merely inventing the airplane,
- 9:21Speaker 1: so he could fly. No, his purpose. His purpose was
- 9:28Speaker 1: to become an inventor, to come up with this invention
- 9:31Speaker 1: so he could fly and we all fly. See. Sometimes
- 9:35Speaker 1: God will make you successful so you can become successful,
- 9:39Speaker 1: so you can turn around and teach other people how
- 9:41Speaker 1: to become successful. God save people, so you can turn
- 9:45Speaker 1: around it tell other people how wonderful it is to
- 9:47Speaker 1: be saved. You see how this thing work. That's what
- 9:51Speaker 1: we have to do with people. And it's nothing that
- 9:54Speaker 1: we have to go and discover. We have to go
- 9:56Speaker 1: and develop it. But if you haven't discovered your purpose,
- 9:59Speaker 1: it's simply be cause. Here's it. If you haven't discovered
- 10:02Speaker 1: your purpose is simply because you have not contacted the
- 10:09Speaker 1: creator and maker of your soul to ask and find
- 10:14Speaker 1: out why you were created. It's as simple as that.
- 10:22Speaker 1: If you buy Toyota, there's an owner's manual on the
- 10:26Speaker 1: inside that will tell you everything you know, how to
- 10:31Speaker 1: best operate your Toyota, how to make it work, how
- 10:34Speaker 1: how we to do and they got a trouble shooting section.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Your faith is the same thing as an owner's manual
- 10:42Speaker 1: in your car. Open up that book man, find out
- 10:46Speaker 1: how to jumpstart your life, how to troubleshoot it and
- 10:49Speaker 1: get on with your life and find out your purpose
- 10:52Speaker 1: and develop a strong sense of purpose this year. All right, okay, cool,
- 10:56Speaker 1: you're listening to a ladies and gentlemen, The Steve Harvey
- 11:07Speaker 1: Morning Show is about to begin. I'm is Steve Harvey.
- 11:15Speaker 1: She be cheering strawband, Come on, good morning, Oven was
- 11:23Speaker 1: calling for rel Hey, good morning, juice. Morning's air by
- 11:32Speaker 1: horned be about Jay Avony Brown. You can be calling

- 12:02Speaker 1: Never mad on the Frienday, No, you can never be
- 12:05Speaker 1: man on the Frinday. You got me? Yes, we got
- 12:07Speaker 1: paid yesterday. Even if you got yes, sir, you don't
- 12:15Speaker 1: know when wet You're just like you don't know when
- 12:20Speaker 1: you get paid. No, what's what's the date? No, you
- 12:26Speaker 1: don't know what Tommy's saying? Do you know when the
- 12:31Speaker 1: radio chick comes? No? That's rich right, there isn't it.
- 12:39Speaker 1: That's riches television every Thursday. But you don't know have
- 12:47Speaker 1: a clue when the radio chick? You know I got
- 12:51Speaker 1: this because it's it's it's every two weeks. Is that
- 12:54Speaker 1: what it is? Every two weeks? Hold on? Hold on?
- 12:59Speaker 1: He made it? Really doesn't know, damn you he first
- 13:06Speaker 1: and fifteen? Do you know do you know if the
- 13:08Speaker 1: first fall on Sunday? We actually get it on that Friday?
- 13:11Speaker 1: I got it down like that. Do you know? You
- 13:13Speaker 1: don't know this? No idea? Okay, Steve, let me ask
- 13:17Speaker 1: you this. Do you know it's a direct deposit or
- 13:20Speaker 1: do you just get your check your heart chat? No, No,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I get that direct deposit, so you don't go look
- 13:26Speaker 1: at it. You don't know when it's coming over. That's
- 13:29Speaker 1: rich right there. They could actually miss a couple of yas.
- 13:33Speaker 1: You know that you don't. You ain't got good man? No, really,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I mean I don't. I don't understand that time he
- 13:45Speaker 1: had he was walking in the room I walked room with.
- 13:47Speaker 1: He had a stack of envelopes in his hand. He
- 13:49Speaker 1: was all checks, But did you know where they come from? Where?
- 13:53Speaker 1: I'm just asking him? Do you know you come from?
- 13:55Speaker 1: They just get them to me? You need before we
- 14:05Speaker 1: go to break. I gotta say a happy birthday to
- 14:08Speaker 1: my baby Sheridan. She makes twenty yeah, twenty two today,
- 14:15Speaker 1: two years ago today, woman. I had her on a Friday.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Uh yeah, about about ten seconds. All right, coming up
- 14:29Speaker 1: at a thirty two after the hour, we're gonna talk
- 14:32Speaker 1: some politics and the Texas town hall meeting that happened
- 14:35Speaker 1: last night, Steve. We'll do that right after this at
- 14:42Speaker 1: thirty two after you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Alright,
- 14:47Speaker 1: November six is fastly approaching. It is the date of
- 14:50Speaker 1: the mid term elections. We got to encourage people, Steve,
- 14:54Speaker 1: to get out and vote. Can I say this, Yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: if you've become an anyway, feeling disenfranchise, feeling like you've
- 15:05Speaker 1: been hoodwinked, if you think that this guy, the commander
- 15:12Speaker 1: in chief that's in the White House right now, number
- 15:15Speaker 1: forty five, is not taking you into consideration in any way. Women,
- 15:23Speaker 1: the poor are, the way he treats families, the way
- 15:26Speaker 1: he doesn't show any interests at all in the common man.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You can change this by voting. Voting changes things. If
- 15:38Speaker 1: everybody who was disenfranchised, who felt frustrated, who sits up
- 15:43Speaker 1: and watches CNN and goes, Wow, how don't they get this?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Or you watch Fox and you go they're going along
- 15:51Speaker 1: with this. The part for me that's so amazing is
- 15:56Speaker 1: that the Republicans are called the moral Party, the geo.
- 16:00Speaker 1: He you all have put in the White House one
- 16:04Speaker 1: of the most immoral presidents we've ever had in my lifetime.
- 16:11Speaker 1: He doesn't even play the game. He doesn't pretend to
- 16:15Speaker 1: like anything. He doesn't pretend to care about women. He
- 16:19Speaker 1: talks about women crazy. It's just amazing, man. He talks
- 16:23Speaker 1: about disabled people, he talks about Native Americans, their heritage.
- 16:29Speaker 1: He's banned Muslims. He takes kids from their parents if
- 16:35Speaker 1: they come to seek asylum or they're trying to cross
- 16:37Speaker 1: the border. They're still kids that don't know where they're
- 16:41Speaker 1: mom at, and they don't even know how to put
- 16:42Speaker 1: these people back together. If you if you're having trouble
- 16:46Speaker 1: with any of that, you have to vote. If you're
- 16:50Speaker 1: in Texas, and what's the guy that's running in Texas
- 16:53Speaker 1: against Cruise, if he if you would just get out
- 16:59Speaker 1: and vote for him and just stop ted Cruise, who
- 17:03Speaker 1: is one of the biggest cowards of him. I have
- 17:06Speaker 1: no respect to him simply because of the way Donald
- 17:10Speaker 1: Trump did him in the primaries. He talked about his wife,
- 17:15Speaker 1: He put a picture up compared to his wife and Milania.
- 17:19Speaker 1: He talked about his daddy. Ted Cruise was done with him.
- 17:23Speaker 1: He said he never support a man like that. In
- 17:26Speaker 1: the White House. Ted Cruise is actively campaigning for Donald Trump,
- 17:31Speaker 1: and Donald Trump is actively campaigning for him. Why. Because
- 17:37Speaker 1: those two are tied together with their power, their position,
- 17:42Speaker 1: and their money. And if we don't get out and vote,
- 17:46Speaker 1: we're going to let that run our lives. Now, let
- 17:49Speaker 1: me explain to those of us who don't vote, You're
- 17:53Speaker 1: gonna let these people who are opting for their power,
- 17:56Speaker 1: position and money run your life. Guess what, They're gonna
- 18:01Speaker 1: make sure you don't never have no power, no position,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and no money, because they're gonna make sure you don't
- 18:07Speaker 1: because that's more for them. You have to vote in Houston,
- 18:11Speaker 1: you have to vote in Dallas, Fort Worth. These cities
- 18:15Speaker 1: have got to turn out. Amarillo got to vote, Waco
- 18:19Speaker 1: got to vote, Colleen got to vote, Blade Water got
- 18:22Speaker 1: to vote. Y'all got to get out of vote. Y'all
- 18:26Speaker 1: got to vote. In Georgia, you got to vote. Every
- 18:34Speaker 1: done every man have a line that doesn't every man
- 18:40Speaker 1: have a line that you can't cross. I mean to
- 18:42Speaker 1: say some about this man wife on national Absolutely, I mean,
- 18:45Speaker 1: I don't get that party. So you just gave forgave
- 18:48Speaker 1: all of that, y'all cool. He didn't forgive it. They
- 18:52Speaker 1: went to him and said, hey, you're gonna get on
- 18:54Speaker 1: board with this or you're gonna be out of power,
- 18:57Speaker 1: position and money. They did forgive nothing. But he likes
- 19:02Speaker 1: his power, his position, and his money more than he
- 19:06Speaker 1: liked you respecting his wife and his daddy. You can,
- 19:09Speaker 1: but I say that in front of him, he cares
- 19:12Speaker 1: more about his power, position of money than you calling
- 19:16Speaker 1: his wife ugly or you're talking about his daddy. Got something,
- 19:19Speaker 1: dude with assassination? But why would I not? He wouldn't
- 19:25Speaker 1: call it. No, he didn't even show up at the town.
- 19:30Speaker 1: How you I mean that? That right there is? It's
- 19:37Speaker 1: what's going on, guys. We have got to vote. My
- 19:41Speaker 1: wife posted a picture she just got in Atlanta this week,
- 19:45Speaker 1: posted she would early vote. You know, now, I may
- 19:49Speaker 1: be able to get that if they can vote on Saturday.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I may go in there and vote this Saturday if
- 19:53Speaker 1: I can vote. But I got my absentee valid too. Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: I registered in California, Steve, so I can here in California.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Early voters in Texas starts with it. Car You need
- 20:10Speaker 1: to start because Monday, the President and will be at
- 20:14Speaker 1: the Toyota Center having listen. Folks who listened to this show,
- 20:23Speaker 1: just think about this. If Donald Trump so desperately wants
- 20:27Speaker 1: to make America great again, and you are a minority,
- 20:32Speaker 1: ask yourself, what time period is he trying to get
- 20:35Speaker 1: back to. I just want you to think about that.
- 20:39Speaker 1: What he wanted to take it back to the fifties,
- 20:41Speaker 1: the sixties. Where was America great again? What time period
- 20:45Speaker 1: he trying to go to? Because he's showing it talking
- 20:47Speaker 1: about two thousand and eight when Obama got in. That
- 20:49Speaker 1: ain't when he's talking about so any time before that?
- 20:52Speaker 1: Where was it better for you then than it is now?
- 20:56Speaker 1: So now, you gotta be careful when a man tells
- 20:58Speaker 1: you what he's gonna do and then you sit by
- 21:00Speaker 1: and do nothing. He gonna make America to the point
- 21:03Speaker 1: where you have nothing if we're not careful. Did you
- 21:08Speaker 1: hear what's his name? What's that McConnell, McDonald. Wait, they
- 21:14Speaker 1: need to get bipartisan and get serious about this Medicare Medicaid.
- 21:19Speaker 1: We need to look at that entitlement that right there
- 21:22Speaker 1: is crazy. It's an entitlement. No, people pay into this
- 21:26Speaker 1: system all their life. Then when they get old they
- 21:29Speaker 1: want to get the benefits of it, they want to
- 21:31Speaker 1: take it out because they called it entitlement. No, it's
- 21:33Speaker 1: a right, it's not entitlement. That been paying years into
- 21:36Speaker 1: this system. Yeah, alright, Steve, we're gonna have to move
- 21:39Speaker 1: on here. Coming up next it is the nephew with
- 21:42Speaker 1: run that prank back right after this you're listening to
- 21:48Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, and entertainment news.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Kirk Franklin has taught us something about forgiveness. We'll talk
- 21:55Speaker 1: about it. And Rihanna this is why I love her
- 21:58Speaker 1: so much. She is not performing at the super Bowl.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Wait till you hear why? All right? Mapew what you got?
- 22:04Speaker 1: I got lunch time date? That's what I got, lunchtime day. Yeah?
- 22:10Speaker 1: Oh he love. Hey, I'm trying to speak to uh,
- 22:15Speaker 1: speak to Alan? This is Alan? Who is this? Hey? Alan? Yo?
- 22:18Speaker 1: This Derek Man. It took us out. Bro. You are
- 22:20Speaker 1: Rachel's Rachel's husband, right, Yeah, Yeah, that's something wrong. No no, no, no,
- 22:25Speaker 1: no no no, I work this like I said this, Derek.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Now I work with your wife Rachel, right you us
- 22:29Speaker 1: you're supervising something. I mean, you just this about work something.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I mean, she's doing a good job and everything. She
- 22:34Speaker 1: ain't back Oh no, no, no, everything is straight. Man,
- 22:36Speaker 1: Ain't nothing wrong with your job. Everything is cool at
- 22:37Speaker 1: the job. This this right here, man is like what

- 28:40Speaker 1: Don't calling this and disrupt. You don't do that. You
- 28:44Speaker 1: don't do that that's fine. You know, you know we're
- 28:48Speaker 1: sitting here and having learned. Why do you keep calling?

- 30:03Speaker 1: The nephew is coming to town tickets own sale, Red
- 30:07Speaker 1: Nah all right, thank you, nephew. Coming up at the
- 30:11Speaker 1: top of the hour and entertainment news. Kirk Franklin has
- 30:15Speaker 1: taught us something about forgiveness. We'll get into that, and
- 30:18Speaker 1: Rihanna ray Rea says no to halftime Super Bowl performance. Well,
- 30:24Speaker 1: we'll talk about all of that when we come back
- 30:27Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to Kirk Franklin has just
- 30:34Speaker 1: taught us something about forgiveness. He posted an Instagram video
- 30:39Speaker 1: telling us about the passing of his biological father recently.
- 30:42Speaker 1: What people may not know is that Kirk Franklin was
- 30:46Speaker 1: given up for adoption by his birth parents. He also
- 30:49Speaker 1: said it made him feel hate, plus it gave him
- 30:52Speaker 1: an inferiority complex, But after recently learning that his biological
- 30:57Speaker 1: dad was ill, he put those feelings aside and went
- 31:00Speaker 1: to see him. Dwight Allen died on Monday of a
- 31:04Speaker 1: terminal illness. He was just sixty six years old. Kirk's mother,
- 31:08Speaker 1: Deborah Franklin, was just about fifteen when she gave him
- 31:12Speaker 1: up for adoption, and he was raised by his aunt, Ms.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Gertrude Franklin, and today Kirk has four children, two girls
- 31:18Speaker 1: with his wife, Tammy Collins, and he also adopted her
- 31:21Speaker 1: daughter Carrington from a previous marriage. It's a great reminder
- 31:25Speaker 1: to us all that tomorrow is promised to no one
- 31:27Speaker 1: and that it's never too late to forgive. Yeah's thing
- 31:37Speaker 1: to do to man? Yeah, somebody else's job. Yeah, And
- 31:43Speaker 1: you know, man, that should be a day for men
- 31:49Speaker 1: who father children because their father won't be active in
- 31:56Speaker 1: their life. It's it's a great guy that comes along
- 31:59Speaker 1: and it's a lot of me and out there man,
- 32:01Speaker 1: Like she stepped up to the plate for for to
- 32:05Speaker 1: be fathers to children. It's not there because they daddy.
- 32:11Speaker 1: They father won't be a daddy. You know this minuting
- 32:14Speaker 1: programer Hall, do you know what, Man, if every father
- 32:21Speaker 1: would just be a daddy, I wouldn't have to have
- 32:25Speaker 1: mentoring programs. Fathers are so important, so important. It's like
- 32:29Speaker 1: I don't think they get it how important they are
- 32:31Speaker 1: to to the nucleus of that family. They are. You
- 32:34Speaker 1: can't just walk away. Yeah, yeah, it's important to boys
- 32:38Speaker 1: and two girls and girls. Yeah, very much so. But
- 32:42Speaker 1: you know the phrase that you use a lot, Steve,
- 32:44Speaker 1: that I like the one you're saying he might not
- 32:46Speaker 1: be a good boy. Friend. He might not be a
- 32:47Speaker 1: good husband, but he can make an excellent father. And
- 32:50Speaker 1: that's true. And that gets in the way of a
- 32:53Speaker 1: lot of relationships. Well, I ain't gonna let you see him,
- 32:55Speaker 1: but because I don't like you. But he could be
- 32:57Speaker 1: a good daddy going through something right now and would
- 33:02Speaker 1: They will not let him see his son because he
- 33:05Speaker 1: fell on hard times. He had an accident, he got
- 33:09Speaker 1: he got lost his job because he can't work, the
- 33:11Speaker 1: benefits ran out, nobody will hire him because of his
- 33:15Speaker 1: disability had and the wife won't let him see the child,
- 33:20Speaker 1: his children because he ain't paid child support in the
- 33:23Speaker 1: year m The man been out of work for two
- 33:28Speaker 1: and time. What about the time he could spend with
- 33:31Speaker 1: his children. The children don't don't know about the money
- 33:34Speaker 1: aspect of it, Yeah, they don't know about that. Just
- 33:37Speaker 1: spend time with the kids sometimes is all. They want
- 33:40Speaker 1: to see their dad and to be around their dad.
- 33:43Speaker 1: And it's it's a lot of men suffering like that, lots.
- 33:47Speaker 1: And I give you'll some good father news. Tonight, I
- 33:52Speaker 1: would be escorting my baby girl out on the football
- 33:55Speaker 1: field for homecoming. She is ninth grade homecoming court of
- 33:59Speaker 1: ninth grade. I get to congratulation. Sidney growing up all
- 34:10Speaker 1: right quickly. Another entertainment news, Rihanna turned down the gig
- 34:14Speaker 1: to perform at Super Bowl fifty three in Atlanta because quote,
- 34:18Speaker 1: she supports Colin Kaepernick. Uh, the NFL and this is
- 34:23Speaker 1: why we love you, Rihanna. NFL and Fox really run
- 34:26Speaker 1: at Rihanna to be the next year, to be the
- 34:28Speaker 1: performer next year in Atlanta. They offered it to her first,
- 34:32Speaker 1: but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She
- 34:34Speaker 1: doesn't agree with the NFL stands Uh, Steve. Time to
- 34:39Speaker 1: introduce ms Anne please, laies and gentlemen, MS and trip.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Thanks guys. This is and trop is the news. The
- 34:45Speaker 1: African American woman who lost nine family members this summer
- 34:49Speaker 1: in a voting accident Branson, Missouri. Remember that story. She
- 34:52Speaker 1: says that the two companies facing multiple lawsuits over that
- 34:54Speaker 1: incident are citing an eighteen fifty one slavery era maritime lord.
- 35:00Speaker 1: It out of pain, one thin dime in liability. Seventeen
- 35:03Speaker 1: people died that day back in July nine on the
- 35:06Speaker 1: duck boat tragedy, including nine members of Tia Coleman's family,
- 35:09Speaker 1: eleven members of her Indiana Indianapolis family were visiting the
- 35:13Speaker 1: vacation spot when a sudden storm blew across the lake,
- 35:16Speaker 1: causing the land water craft to capsize and sink. Eight
- 35:19Speaker 1: other people were killed that day. Tia Coleman says, the
- 35:22Speaker 1: owners of the boat are denying negligence, and they say
- 35:24Speaker 1: even if the court ends up finding negligence that according
- 35:27Speaker 1: to a law which was actually designed to protect the
- 35:30Speaker 1: owners of slave ships, by the way, their liability would
- 35:33Speaker 1: be zero because the vessel was a total loss and
- 35:35Speaker 1: of no value. In fact, Tia Coleman says, there have
- 35:38Speaker 1: been no settlement officers offers in this thing. The investigation
- 35:42Speaker 1: to the suspected brutal murder of Washington Post to journalists
- 35:45Speaker 1: Jamaica Shogi continue, as President Trump finally ready to admit
- 35:48Speaker 1: before a campaign appearance in Montana yesterday that Kashogi probably
- 35:52Speaker 1: was murdered in the Soudi consulate. It certainly looks that
- 35:55Speaker 1: way to me. It's very sad. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladim
- 36:00Speaker 1: Prutent says that the US government does bear some responsibility,
- 36:03Speaker 1: but because shows you apparently killing because he was a
- 36:05Speaker 1: legal US resident and should have been protected, Prutent says
- 36:09Speaker 1: he doesn't see why his country should end its relationship
- 36:11Speaker 1: with Saudi Arabia, though when Putent claims, it's not exactly
- 36:14Speaker 1: clear what happened to the dissident reporter. Over the past year,
- 36:18Speaker 1: Prutent has hosted visits by members of the Saudi royal family,
- 36:21Speaker 1: and earlier this week, a high ranking Russian delegation traveled
- 36:24Speaker 1: to yacht reportedly interested in selling weapons and buying oil.
- 36:28Speaker 1: The A c l U is suing President Trump, violating
- 36:31Speaker 1: the First Amendment. The suit accuses the commander in chief
- 36:33Speaker 1: of using the power of the government to retaliate against
- 36:36Speaker 1: the journalists and media organization he doesn't like. Get this.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Yesterday was the first day of in person voting in
- 36:41Speaker 1: uh Georgia. Dozens of black senior citizens was suddenly ordered
- 36:44Speaker 1: off a bus that was taking them from a senior
- 36:47Speaker 1: assistant to a polling place. The supposed anonymous caller claimed
- 36:50Speaker 1: the bus ride to constitute a political activity, which would
- 36:53Speaker 1: be prohibited. However, those who organized the right undaunted. They
- 36:56Speaker 1: say they'll find outther ways to get elderly African Americans
- 36:58Speaker 1: to the polls this year of black woman. Stacy Adams
- 37:01Speaker 1: is a Democrat running for Georgia governor against the Republican
- 37:04Speaker 1: Secretary State Brian Kemp and Associated Press reports at some
- 37:07Speaker 1: fifty three thousand voter applications and sent for black people

- 37:58Speaker 1: a song last week that the ladies a little upset about.
- 38:01Speaker 1: So the speak in fairness. There's a song for some
- 38:07Speaker 1: of the men, not me at me. I'm gonna answer

- 55:38Speaker 1: it for you. Here it is the strawberry letter subject,
- 55:47Speaker 1: I need it, and I need it now. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I have been with my man for two years and
- 55:52Speaker 1: we have lived together for the past year. We have
- 55:55Speaker 1: a really good relationship, but there's one problem. He will
- 56:00Speaker 1: not have any kind of sexual relationships with me sexual
- 56:03Speaker 1: relations with me, and this has been going on since
- 56:06Speaker 1: we started living together. He says he wants to wait
- 56:09Speaker 1: until we are married, but he has not even proposed.
- 56:13Speaker 1: We're not at that point in our relationship yet. He
- 56:16Speaker 1: told me that when God puts it in his heart,
- 56:18Speaker 1: he will ask me to marry him. When we first
- 56:21Speaker 1: started dating, we had sex all of the time. I
- 56:24Speaker 1: am fifty six years old and he is sixty years old,
- 56:28Speaker 1: and I think it's a little late in life for
- 56:30Speaker 1: him to be practicing celibacy. We sleep in the same
- 56:33Speaker 1: bed every night, and he won't even cuddle with me
- 56:36Speaker 1: because he says that leads to intimacy. He sometimes sleeps
- 56:40Speaker 1: in the guest room if he thinks I'm trying to
- 56:42Speaker 1: get frisky with him. He wants to He wants us
- 56:45Speaker 1: to go to a Christian counselor so I can think
- 56:48Speaker 1: see things from his point of view. I do believe
- 56:51Speaker 1: in waiting for sex before marriage, but at our age,
- 56:55Speaker 1: I have a stressful job and some days I just
- 56:58Speaker 1: want to come home and relieve some stress with some
- 57:00Speaker 1: good old sex. If he does not, he does not
- 57:04Speaker 1: give me a wedding date soon, I don't know if
- 57:06Speaker 1: I can stay in this sexless relationship. I am ready
- 57:10Speaker 1: to move out and move on with my life. What
- 57:12Speaker 1: do you think I should do? Please help now. It's
- 57:16Speaker 1: really hard to stop with the sex. It's hard once
- 57:19Speaker 1: you started, okay, but your man has managed to do
- 57:23Speaker 1: it for some reason, and for a very good one,
- 57:26Speaker 1: I might add, because he wants to be a good
- 57:28Speaker 1: Christian and it doesn't matter to him your ages. He
- 57:32Speaker 1: says he's waiting for God to put it in his
- 57:35Speaker 1: heart to propose to you. And here's the crazy part.
- 57:38Speaker 1: You agree with him on a certain level. You say
- 57:41Speaker 1: you believe in waiting for sex before marriage. Again, you
- 57:46Speaker 1: agree with him on that point. But it's not because
- 57:48Speaker 1: of God that you believe uh him, or you agree
- 57:52Speaker 1: with him. It's not because of Christianity that you believe
- 57:55Speaker 1: him agree with him. It's because of your ages. You're
- 58:00Speaker 1: fifty six sixty and I just say to you, you
- 58:03Speaker 1: cannot have it both ways. You can't. Either you're with
- 58:06Speaker 1: him on this or you're not. And like you say,
- 58:09Speaker 1: you're gonna move on, move out of this relationship and
- 58:11Speaker 1: move on with your life. You gotta make a decision here.
- 58:14Speaker 1: If you want the cuddle and if you want to
- 58:16Speaker 1: relieve your stress, if you've had a particularly stressful day
- 58:19Speaker 1: and you want to have sex with him, well, this
- 58:22Speaker 1: is not your guy because he doesn't want to. He's waiting. Okay, Uh,
- 58:26Speaker 1: he's cut you off. I mean he did offer you
- 58:29Speaker 1: a sort of an olive branch, and that's inviting you
- 58:32Speaker 1: to go to a Christian counseling with him so you
- 58:34Speaker 1: can see his point of view. So if you don't
- 58:36Speaker 1: see his point of view, if you're not feeling what
- 58:39Speaker 1: he's talking about, you have to move on. This is
- 58:41Speaker 1: not your man, Steeve. This letter is nothing but a
- 58:46Speaker 1: letter feel with contradictions. I could never get a bead
- 58:52Speaker 1: on what she wanted or what she was talking about.
- 58:55Speaker 1: She's been with a man for two years. They've lived
- 58:59Speaker 1: together other for the past year. We had a really
- 59:04Speaker 1: good relationship, but there's one problem. He would not have
- 59:06Speaker 1: any kind of sexual relationship with me. And this has
- 59:09Speaker 1: been going on since we started living together. So they've
- 59:12Speaker 1: been dating for two years. They lived together for one year.
- 59:16Speaker 1: After they move in, he stopped having sex with her.
- 59:21Speaker 1: He says he wants to wait until we are married,
- 59:25Speaker 1: but he ain't even proposed. So now he said he
- 59:30Speaker 1: wanted today get married, But then you say he hasn't
- 59:34Speaker 1: even proposed to you, And then you turn around and say,
- 59:37Speaker 1: we're not at that point in our relationship yet the
- 59:41Speaker 1: hell are you living with him? Fault. It's so much
- 59:46Speaker 1: that this block of information right here, not to mention
- 59:53Speaker 1: that they old and ought to know better on all levels.
- 59:57Speaker 1: She fifty six, he's sixty. This is some new stuff.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: You ain't never heard of this. You've been together for
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: two years. It had sex for one year, you moved
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: in together. He ain't had no sex. He say he
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: gonna wait till they married, but then he ain't proposed
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: to you. But then you turn it in and say
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: we ain't at that point in our relationship yet. Why
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: you live with him and want to have sex at
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: sixty and you don't want to marry He told me
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: that when God puts it in his heart, he will
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: ask me to marry him. Oh, now, you dragged the
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Lord into this, so I guess the Lord put it
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: in this hard to hear you move in? That was
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: the Lord. I'm just asking. When we first started dating,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: we had sex all the time. Women, Hold up, we
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: don't win from a se excellence marriage sexless relationship until
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: we have sex all the time. I'm fifty six, he's sixty.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I think it's a little late in life for him
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: to be practicing celibacy. Okay, now listen to that. I
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: think it's a little late in life for him to
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: be practicing celibacy. Let me mark that because we're gonna
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: come back to that. We sleep in the same bed
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: every night, and he won't even cuddle with me because
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: he said that lead to intimacy. He's sometimes sleep in
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: the guest room if he thinks I'm trying to get
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: frisky with it. He wants us to go to Christian
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: counseling so I can see things from his point of view,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Christian counselor y'all live together, you want sex? He don't, y'all,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: and had sex all the time for a whole year.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: He said, wait till he proposed to you. You don't
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: think y'all marriage at that stage yet? Man, I want
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: to come home and leave some stress with some good
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: old set. Now. Now hold up. If he does not
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: give me a wedding date, suit, didn't you just say,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: y'all relationship ain't that point yet? I don't know if
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I can stay in this sex situation. I'm ready to move.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I move on with my life. What you think I
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: should do? I think you should retype this damn. Now
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: we're freaking the rest of it that when I'm coming back.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: That's right. We'll have part two of Steve's response coming
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: up at twenty three after subjects I need it and
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I need it now. Right after this, you're listening to
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Steve Show. All right, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: and then to recap these is two old fools, just
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: two old fools that they got together and it's acting foolish.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: It's a letter of none but complex flix. You've been

- 1:04:25Speaker 1: if you ate it, though, and you stab somebody that
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: ought to be cool. I don't know if I can
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: stay in this sexless relationship. I'm ready to move out
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: and move on with my life. Lady you fifty six?

- 1:05:06Speaker 1: you till he get married, but he ain't proposed to you.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: But then you said, our relationship is not at that
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: point yet. But then you said, I don't know if
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I could say I'm ready to move out and move
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: on then he if he don't ask me to marry

- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Wade made way more since than this. Well, one thing

- 1:10:11Speaker 1: more confusing than the look of that Trump had on
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: his face after hearing Kanye talk. And may we add
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Jim Brown as well, his look was confusing as well. Okay,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: you right here, that's the same look I had on
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: my face when Donald Trump what told me the whole
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: that element. You're right about that, Steve, Well you can
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: say that again. You're right about that, Steve. Anyway, he

- 1:25:47Speaker 1: house something run old dawn quarterback and throw it to
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: itself so he can can't complaining. Man, great football man.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: The bangs out your head receivers in the game today,
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: and you just be killing it with that little blond
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: bang on. You know you ain't killing like that. Put
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: rollers setting your head. You know, he like you a pimp.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: He did have a temperature some a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: On the field. He be talking to himself, be hitting
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: the refrigerator on the wall. The man just catch rounds,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: all right, we'll see what happened. What do you think, y'all?
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: You think you're gonna get at least seven right this
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: this week? Now? Man? NFL crazy? Yeah. If I had
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: to pick last week, God damn, he wouldn't have won
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: a game. M hmm, I'm nervous, man, don't worry all
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I care about it. Cleveland, Before you go, this is
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: what it sounds like. When pimps cray alright, thank you,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: we'll be back. Hell you too, thank you. I love
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: you right back. I just kissed myself. Oh you're listening
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: to the Steve Hard Morning Show. Alright, November six is
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: fastly approaching. It is the date of the mid term elections.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: We got to encourage people, Steve to get out and vote.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: Can I say this, Yeah, if you've become in any
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: way feeling disenfranchised, feeling like you've been hood winked, if
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: you think that this guy, the commander in chief that's
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: in the White House right now, number forty five is
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: not taking you into consideration in any way. Women, the
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: poor are, the way he treats families, the way he
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: doesn't show any interests at all in the common man.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: You can change this by voting. Voting changes things. If
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: everybody who was disenfranchised, who felt frustrated, who sits up
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: and watches CNN and goals, wow, how don't they get this?
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: Or you watch Fox and you go they're going along
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: with this. The part for me that's so amazing is
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: that the Republicans are called the Moral Party, the GOP
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: you all have put in the White House. One of
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: the most immoral presidents we've ever had in my lifetime.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: He doesn't even play the game. He doesn't pretend to
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: like anything. He doesn't pretend to care about women. He
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: talks about women crazy. It's just amazing, man. He talks
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: about disabled people, he talks about Native Americans, their heritage.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: He's banned Muslims. He takes kids from their parents if
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: they come to seek asylum or they're trying to cross
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: the border. They're still kids that don't know where they're
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: mom at, and they don't even know how to put
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: these people back together. If you're if you're having trouble
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: with any of that, you have to vote. If you're
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: in Texas, and what's the guy that's running in Texas
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: against Cruise? If he if you would just get out
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: and vote for him and just stop ted Cruise, who
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: is one of the biggest cowards of them I have
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: no respect to simply because of the way Donald Trump
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: did at him in the primaries. He talked about his wife,
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: He put a picture up compared to his wife and Milania.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: He talked about his daddy, tared Cruise was done with him.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: He said he never support a man like that in
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: the White House Ted Cruise is actively campaigning for Donald Trump,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: and Donald Trump is actively campaigning for him. Why because
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: those two are tied together with their power, their position,
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: and their money. And if we don't get out and vote,
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: we're going to let that run our lives. Now, let
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: me explain to those of us who don't vote, You're
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: gonna let these people who are opting for their power,
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: position and money run your life. Guess what They're gonna
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: make sure you don't never have no power, no position,
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: and no money, because they're gonna make sure you don't
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: because that's more for them. You have to vote in Houston,
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: you have to vote, in Dallas, Fort Worth. These cities
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: have got to turn out. Amarillo got to vote, Waco
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: got to vote, Colleen got to vote, Blade Water got
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: to vote. Y'all got to get out of vote. Y'all
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: got to vote. In Georgia. You got to vote. All right, guys,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: you heard him, get out to the polls November six.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: We need your vote. Midterm elections coming up. You know
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: what else is coming up? Our last break of the
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: day and Steve's closing remarks right after this at forty
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: nine after the hour, you're listening to Hey, for my
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: closing remarks that Dad choose to keep encouraging people, uplifting
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: people in enlightening you all to some of the things
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: I've had to learn on my journey. And I'm not
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: claiming to know more than anybody else. I'm just talking
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: to people from a standpoint of just trying to be
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: an an encouraging person from my own standpoint, my own viewpoint.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: You don't have to agree with anything I say. You
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: have to right to your own opinion, your own line
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: of thinking. So this is not a forced thing. This
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: is just, you know, words of encouragement at the end
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: of the show. So when you start in your day
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: and you're thinking about your road to success and happiness.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: I had a lot of challenges along the way that
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: I've had to learn how to overcome, and I've had
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: to find different methods and learn from more successful people
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: than myself how to get it done. One of the
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: major things that I learned, and this is very difficult
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: for me to do because of the most useless emotion
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: in the human spirit, which is guilt. Guilt serves no one,
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: but because of guilt, I found it hard to implement
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: this that I'm about to share with you. You've heard
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: the old saying birds of a feather flock together. You've
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: heard association brings on participation. What that simply means is,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: if you of a goal in mind uh and aspiration
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: somewhere you're trying to get to, to get there better, quicker, faster,
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: more peacefully, you have to surround yourself with like minded people.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: Now this is hard to do, and I'm going to
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: tell you why it's hard to do for me because
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: I was held to a certain amount of accountability by
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: people who just didn't want to see me leave them.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: So as I began to change my life, change my direction,
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: leave Cleveland, move up, try to come up, do more,
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: try to become more. Try not to be the person
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: that I used to be. They have words to hold
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: you to them, like, man, you gotta keep it real. Man,
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: hey man, don't forget where you come from. Now, not
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: forgetting where you come from is important, but they're saying
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: it from the fact of What they really mean is
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: keep it real. Don't forget where you come from. A
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: lot of those people simply means don't leave us. And
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: it's not your obligation to take everybody with you. You've
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: got to understand that, don't get held to the emotion
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: of guilt and keep associating with people who don't mean
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: you well. Now, look, that goes to something my father
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: told me a long time ago. He says, son, everybody
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: come with you can't go with you. Some people are
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: in your life for certain periods of time, and that's
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: just it. You have to move on from them. Some
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: of your friends you just grew apart from some of
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: your associates. You just can't keep associating with him all
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: the time. Some of your people. You can meet him
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: at the gym and play ball, but you can't do
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: nothing else with him. That's okay. Stop thinking that because
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: a person labels you their friend, that you now owe
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: them a right. You don't stop thinking like I hurt
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: myself so many years hanging on to people suffering from guilty.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: What's gonna happen to the family, What's gonna happen today?
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Ability to get another job? And I've had people used
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: me for years and for years and for years. I
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: finally gotten to the point where I'm done with that.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: I finally gotten to the point I started learning it
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: a while back. But at sixty one, I'm telling you
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: I'm so through with that. I'm so through with feeling
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: obligated to people who ain't really obligated to me. And
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: don't y'all all have them people in your circle right now? Oh,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: you so obligated to them, but are they really obligated
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: to you? You always looking for their best interests, but
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: do they ever look out for your best interests? Association
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: brings on participation. If you hang with a bunch of
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: people that cuss all the time, eventually you're gonna be cussing.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: If you hang with a lot of people who do
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: drugs all the time, every time they get together and
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: you just gotta be with them, eventually you're gonna be
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: into drugs. It's just a part of the association brings
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: on participation. If you're somewhere and people playing ping pong
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: every day, you don't think you're gonna pick up the
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: padder one day, at least give it a shot. It's
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: how this works, man. So you owe it to yourself
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: to prune the tree. You owe it to yourself to
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: take inventory. You owe it to yourself to surround yourself
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: with like minded people, to find people who are going
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: the same direction you're going, who want the same thing,
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: same things you want. It's nothing wrong with that, And
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: I'll tell you something else too. It will show make
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: your life a little bit smoother. Now, that's not gonna
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: make it easier, but it will make it smoother. Wouldn't
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: it be good to have somebody to talk to that
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: wasn't always telling you why it won't work? Y'all can't
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: stand to have an idea and take it to somebody
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: in the first word out their mouth is why it
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: won't work. So then when they come up with howard
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: will work, all of a sudden, now it's they idea. Man,
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: how many times I've been around people like that. Birds
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: of a feather flock together. If you hang with people
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: who don't do nothing, eventually you're gonna think it's okay
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: not to do nothing. To take inventory, prune the tree,
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: separate yourself, and remember it ain't your job to give
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: nobody a free ride. It is not your job. They
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: will slow your progress down. All right, those are my clothes, remark, y'all.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Keep that week today, a drop the mics. That was good, baby,
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: that was yes home, have a great weekend alright for all.
