- 2:12Speaker 1: what radio show man? What you're doing with it? Trying
- 2:17Speaker 1: to do the very very best I can with it?
- 2:19Speaker 1: I really am. You know I get tired sometimes on
- 2:23Speaker 1: my journey. I'm not gonna kid you. UM. Trying to
- 2:28Speaker 1: make something about yourself is a task. Um. If you
- 2:34Speaker 1: want to attempt to do something and and and understand
- 2:38Speaker 1: going in that that. If the thing you're trying to
- 2:42Speaker 1: do is to improve yourself, to better your position, to
- 2:47Speaker 1: better your relationship, your family, anything, you're trying to be
- 2:52Speaker 1: a better you. You're trying to make more money, you're
- 2:57Speaker 1: trying to get it together. You're trying to change. If
- 3:01Speaker 1: any of those things are in your hopes and dreams,
- 3:06Speaker 1: know this right here, you are about to face some challenges.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But you might as well go ahead anyway and face
- 3:15Speaker 1: those challenges, because if you don't, you have a whole
- 3:19Speaker 1: other set of challenges to face. You know, it's a
- 3:22Speaker 1: it's a It's an amazing thing. Man, How people sit
- 3:26Speaker 1: around and they watch other people strike out to become successful.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And they sit in the stands watching these people play
- 3:33Speaker 1: out these games, and they and they and they criticize,
- 3:37Speaker 1: They boo, they laugh at their efforts and everything, and
- 3:41Speaker 1: they talk about the fairies. He missed that game when
- 3:43Speaker 1: it shot. Boy, he sucked. Man, he did this. He
- 3:46Speaker 1: ain't worth that. I hear people who sit and stands
- 3:52Speaker 1: who criticize people who are out there on the playing field. Now,
- 3:58Speaker 1: when you're on the plane, feel you have a set
- 4:02Speaker 1: of challenges in front of you, You're going to be
- 4:04Speaker 1: open to criticism. You're going to be open to ridicule.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You're going to be talked about when you don't know
- 4:12Speaker 1: the people who are talking about you. Now, here's the
- 4:19Speaker 1: upside to being the player on the field that's facing
- 4:23Speaker 1: all the challenges to criticisms, the laughing, the joke, to
- 4:27Speaker 1: being talked about. He has something going for him. This person, boy, woman, child, girl,
- 4:37Speaker 1: man has an opportunity to win. They have an opportunity
- 4:44Speaker 1: to win. And then the game of life. Just because
- 4:49Speaker 1: you lose one of the games, or you lose one
- 4:52Speaker 1: of the matches, it don't mean you've lost. You don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: get put out. You keep playing. And when you're playing,
- 5:01Speaker 1: here's the upside. You have the opportunity to win. And
- 5:05Speaker 1: but guess what, You're gonna win some of the matches.
- 5:08Speaker 1: You're gonna win some of the points. You're gonna make
- 5:10Speaker 1: some of the dunks. You're gonna hit some of them
- 5:11Speaker 1: over the wall. You're gonna hit some of them out
- 5:13Speaker 1: the park. You're gonna score some goals. You will if
- 5:18Speaker 1: you're playing the game. Here's the problem with the people
- 5:23Speaker 1: who don't face the criticism, who nobody boos or cheers for,
- 5:28Speaker 1: who sits in the stands and knows neither victory nor defeat.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Those people, without realizing it, are facing a set of
- 5:41Speaker 1: challenges also. And the challenges they're facing is how I'm
- 5:46Speaker 1: gonna live with myself? What I'm gonna do now? What
- 5:53Speaker 1: direction am I going in Where am I gonna live?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Wonder what job will hire me? Wonder if I can
- 6:05Speaker 1: get paid for criticizing? Oh woe is me? I can't
- 6:12Speaker 1: find the purpose in my life. And man, I'm just
- 6:17Speaker 1: waking up in a state of confusion. I don't know
- 6:19Speaker 1: what to do. Now, let me ask you something which
- 6:23Speaker 1: one of them said, of challenges you rather be faced with.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Because if I'm on the flow playing, if I'm on
- 6:29Speaker 1: the field playing, if I'm out on the court playing,
- 6:33Speaker 1: then guess what I got a chance at winning? But
- 6:37Speaker 1: guess what I'm doing every day while I'm playing. I'm strategizing.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm waking up with a purpose. I'm waking up trying
- 6:44Speaker 1: to come up with another angle. I'm in pursuit of
- 6:49Speaker 1: a goal every single day. Versus the people in the
- 6:55Speaker 1: stands who know neither victory nor defeat. Get in the game.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Face the challenges. Better yourself, better your wife, better your children,
- 7:10Speaker 1: better your condition, better your employment status, better your job,
- 7:13Speaker 1: better your career. Take a shot. Come on, man, what
- 7:16Speaker 1: you're waiting on? Because the alternative is to watch other
- 7:21Speaker 1: people play the game? You know, and I just do
- 7:24Speaker 1: Sometimes Sometimes I just I get Forbes magazine or Money magazine,
- 7:29Speaker 1: or sometimes I still grab a copy of rob Report.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I just flipped through it just to see. I used
- 7:36Speaker 1: to get these this book called Unique Homes. Unique Homes
- 7:40Speaker 1: is a magazine that just has a lot of extravagant
- 7:43Speaker 1: houses that's on sale across the country, across the world.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I used to just flip through. Man, let me just see, Man,
- 7:50Speaker 1: what the people that's playing the game out there doing.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Stop watching other people become successful when you could very
- 7:58Speaker 1: easily be you if you make the decision. But when
- 8:01Speaker 1: you make the decision to become successful, get ready for
- 8:05Speaker 1: a series of challenges. I think it's more difficult not
- 8:09Speaker 1: to accept the challenge. I think it's for me. This
- 8:13Speaker 1: is just for me. It may not be the case
- 8:15Speaker 1: for you. For me, I think it's far more difficult
- 8:17Speaker 1: to wake up and just see how life gonna go today,
- 8:20Speaker 1: because man, it could just deal you any kind of
- 8:22Speaker 1: hand today. You understand I don't like you know, spades.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Let's let's talk a card game, folks, down the game
- 8:32Speaker 1: of spades. Really, man, it ain't a whole lot you
- 8:35Speaker 1: can do if you don't get no spades. Really, it's
- 8:38Speaker 1: a little couple of little strategies you've gotta do. But
- 8:41Speaker 1: you can have all this age keen, queen, diamond all
- 8:43Speaker 1: you want. But man, you ain't got no spades. They're
- 8:45Speaker 1: cutting them. You're in trouble. Be it whist. Different game.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You can create what's in your hand. You got dealt
- 8:53Speaker 1: a hand too, But you can create a hand. You
- 8:56Speaker 1: can call a trump. You can make diamonds you're spades.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You can make hard to clubs your spades. That's what
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm saying. That's what it is. You can do something
- 9:04Speaker 1: with it. It's a different game, man, you can strategize.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I would rather have a say so in my life
- 9:10Speaker 1: than to wake up every day and just see how
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's going. I think it's more difficult to not accept
- 9:16Speaker 1: the challenge to be something than it is to accept
- 9:19Speaker 1: the challenge to be something. I think it's more difficult
- 9:22Speaker 1: to sit around and not be nothing. I think it's
- 9:24Speaker 1: harder to watch everybody's life going somewhere but mine. I
- 9:28Speaker 1: think it would be very difficult for me to sit
- 9:30Speaker 1: here and hear them talking about other people that never
- 9:33Speaker 1: mentioned my name. I would be difficult for me to
- 9:35Speaker 1: see everybody rise and getting promotions accept me. That would
- 9:39Speaker 1: be difficult for me. It may not be for you,
- 9:42Speaker 1: but for me it would be quite challenging. I would
- 9:44Speaker 1: rather accept the challenge of making something out of my
- 9:48Speaker 1: life than to sit there and criticize those and then
- 9:51Speaker 1: watch and see how my life just may go. Okay,
- 9:55Speaker 1: just a thought. Today you're listening, ladies and gentlemen, might
- 10:03Speaker 1: have your undivided attention. Please. This is a Steve Harvey
- 10:06Speaker 1: Morning Show today. I've decided to dedicate the morning show
- 10:14Speaker 1: as I've done this before, but I think today we
- 10:17Speaker 1: do we just do. Today is dedicated to the ignorant,
- 10:22Speaker 1: to those people who spend portions of their lives saying
- 10:28Speaker 1: ignorant things intentionally and sometimes unintentionally, but all designed for
- 10:35Speaker 1: the uplift, levity and laughter of the masses. This is
- 10:41Speaker 1: for the ignorant, Ladies and German one who is not ignorant.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Charley Strawberry to yourselves, and yeah, hell y'all go watch
- 10:51Speaker 1: this today. Embarrassed me? Good morning. I ain't gonna let
- 10:56Speaker 1: you down today. Carlifrell, another non ignorant, Good morning, and
- 11:00Speaker 1: what's up? Crew? This is what it's fun Junior, more
- 11:04Speaker 1: than uncle. If you ever sat in the fire, you
- 11:05Speaker 1: should be running out of the funerals. To go to right,
- 11:09Speaker 1: that was ignorant. Wow, see right there, that was early ignorance.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Wasn't even call for you don't put a time limit
- 11:18Speaker 1: on it though, What do you mean time? I mean
- 11:22Speaker 1: you didn't say when it can start or anything. He
- 11:24Speaker 1: just did it. No, that's why. That's why I appreciate it. Huh,
- 11:28Speaker 1: that's you're timing your side. Yes, sir, I do not
- 11:31Speaker 1: think before I talk because I want to be just
- 11:33Speaker 1: as surprised everybody else. Hello, stupid, wow, wow, say something.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I want to be just as surprised everybody ready for
- 11:44Speaker 1: my first ignorance statement on the day. Come on, Come on?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Just because you darker than me, don't mean you blacker
- 11:50Speaker 1: than me? Whoa? I like him exactly deep. You still
- 11:57Speaker 1: ain't blacketed me, No way out match discount. Good morning everyone?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Good morning? Yeah, well, good morning. What's happening now? Every
- 12:14Speaker 1: random you know this is I don't know if may
- 12:19Speaker 1: or may not elicit an ignorant answer, but I usually
- 12:24Speaker 1: ask you this every fall, and I didn't yesterday about
- 12:27Speaker 1: your um, I know how you love the fall and
- 12:29Speaker 1: clothes and dressing and everything. Have you changed your closet
- 12:32Speaker 1: over and all that? Yet you know what, Shirley, Because

- 12:38Speaker 1: do it this year, now, you know, because you know
- 12:41Speaker 1: I've been out of Chicago for two years and sold
- 12:44Speaker 1: my summer vacations. When I buy my fall wardrobe, I
- 12:47Speaker 1: ain't buying. No, I ain't bout no coach or nothing,
- 12:52Speaker 1: because I was celebrating being out of the vortex. Yes
- 12:57Speaker 1: that is Chicago. Yes, yeah, so I did, and I
- 13:00Speaker 1: didn't buy no Winner stuff. So it's sort of crazy.

- 29:26Speaker 1: dollar donation to the UNCF in Charlotte, the Queen City. Yes,
- 29:31Speaker 1: uh huh at the Maya Angelo women who lead luncheon. Okay,
- 29:36Speaker 1: Maya Angelou was a great mentor of Oprah's And Oprah
- 29:40Speaker 1: announced she was going to match the donation that Charlotte
- 29:43Speaker 1: community did. Me for a minute, she was there, We'll
- 29:45Speaker 1: go ahead. No, well, I thought she was gonna say that.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I don't know where imaginary sorright this conspiracy thing. Well,
- 30:03Speaker 1: Oprah announced she was going to match the donation that
- 30:06Speaker 1: the Charlotte community had already raised. A woman named Sonja,
- 30:09Speaker 1: who was a key figure in raising the million dollars
- 30:12Speaker 1: before Oprah's match donation, was too excited. She ran on
- 30:16Speaker 1: stage to thank Oprah. She tripped, but she kept going
- 30:20Speaker 1: to get on stage and thank Oprah. Wow, man, I
- 30:24Speaker 1: guess what Carla? Sonya is my cousin? Do you when
- 30:29Speaker 1: used Charlotte. No, that is yes, that is my cousin,
- 30:37Speaker 1: Sniah Nichols. Well at least she wasn't there for a
- 30:40Speaker 1: free ticket, which is usually how we meet your cousin. No,
- 30:45Speaker 1: Sonia is very big in the Charlotte community. She has
- 30:49Speaker 1: the first million dollars. So that is awesome. That's really good. Yeah,
- 30:53Speaker 1: she's trending on CNN. My whole family, we're cracking up.
- 30:58Speaker 1: She's good though, she tripped, but she's okay. She got
- 31:02Speaker 1: right on stage. What have we learned from this story?
- 31:07Speaker 1: You can get up. You have not read in a hai.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Don't let it be the first time towards your stage
- 31:16Speaker 1: in front of people. I got a rich person question
- 31:23Speaker 1: when when you're about to donate one point five me?
- 31:25Speaker 1: And do you walk change or do you have anything?
- 31:27Speaker 1: Do you feel good about it? How you do that? Well, yes,
- 31:30Speaker 1: it's pretty good. You know, when you can help people,
- 31:33Speaker 1: I think that's powerful man. People don't understand that's that's
- 31:37Speaker 1: a lot of money. I don't care who yet, And
- 31:40Speaker 1: thank you? Thank you Sonia was shout after my cousin. Yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 1: misus all right, so another entertainment news Steve. We have
- 31:52Speaker 1: to say congratulations to friend and family member Tyler Perry. Uh.
- 31:57Speaker 1: He received his start in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
- 32:00Speaker 1: His friends carry Washington Interests, ELBA, they were all there
- 32:03Speaker 1: to support him. Tyler thanked all of his supporters and
- 32:06Speaker 1: posted on Instagram his mother would have been proud. Yeah
- 32:12Speaker 1: a moment. Honestly, I thought he already had one. Honest
- 32:18Speaker 1: to God, I did. No, that was mine too, well.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I was there for yours, Steve. Yes, there's about the
- 32:27Speaker 1: only thing I've done before Tylers. Yeah. But congratulations to Tyler.
- 32:36Speaker 1: So desert because this weekend, on top of that, he's
- 32:39Speaker 1: doing his big studio grand opening and reception. Are you
- 32:43Speaker 1: going on? No, I'm speaking in Jamaica this weekend, so
- 32:47Speaker 1: I won't be there. Oh look at you being all
- 32:50Speaker 1: international again. You better look at God now. Oh yeah,
- 32:56Speaker 1: you know you better look at what God. Look at him?
- 33:05Speaker 1: Feel feel like preciate it. But we out of time. Yeah,
- 33:09Speaker 1: so preach the introduction to the headline. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 33:14Speaker 1: fi fu miss ain't trip. Well, everybody, this is a
- 33:22Speaker 1: trip with the news. President Trump is now calling the
- 33:24Speaker 1: House impeachment inquiry into doing his doings of his particular
- 33:28Speaker 1: administration a coop. The White former Dallas cop accused of
- 33:32Speaker 1: murdering her black upstairs neighbor after accidentally getting into his apartment.
- 33:36Speaker 1: She's been found guilty. The jury has found amber Gager
- 33:38Speaker 1: guilty of a lesser could have found amber Geger guilty
- 33:42Speaker 1: of a lesser charge of manslaughter, but they didn't. The
- 33:44Speaker 1: panel apparently didn't believe the defense's argument that Gaga was
- 33:47Speaker 1: basically standing her ground and fatally shooting botham Jean, since
- 33:51Speaker 1: Gaga was in Jee's apartment, not the other way around.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Amber Gager now faces between five and one hundred years
- 33:57Speaker 1: in prison when sentenced. Attorney Benjamin and Crump, one of
- 34:00Speaker 1: the lawyers who represented the victim in botham Jean's family,
- 34:03Speaker 1: says the jury's thoughtful verdict sets a powerful precedent for
- 34:06Speaker 1: future cases, telling law enforcement officers they cannot hide behind
- 34:10Speaker 1: a badge, but will instead face justice for their wrongful actions. Again,
- 34:14Speaker 1: Ambergager found guilty of murder, non manslaughter. The now former
- 34:18Speaker 1: US Congressman Chris Collins pled guilty yesterday to various charges
- 34:21Speaker 1: involving inside of trading. Collins told the judge that he
- 34:23Speaker 1: regretted his actions and that he realized that his behavior
- 34:27Speaker 1: was not that of a model citizen, an assessment that
- 34:29Speaker 1: US Attorney Jeffrey Burman totally agrees with. By virtue of
- 34:32Speaker 1: his position, Collins helped write the laws of this country,
- 34:35Speaker 1: yet acted as if the law didn't apply to him.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Chris Collins, a Republican represented parts of western New York,
- 34:41Speaker 1: was the first GOP representative to announce support for Donald Trump.
- 34:45Speaker 1: A federal judge in Boston has ruled at Harvard University's
- 34:47Speaker 1: admission policy does not discriminate against Asians. Asian Americans have
- 34:51Speaker 1: brought a suit. However, the judge upheld Harvard's race conscious admissions,
- 34:55Speaker 1: saying that while the system not perfect, that the court
- 34:58Speaker 1: is not prepared to dismantle a fine program just because
- 35:00Speaker 1: it could be better. The plaintiffs say they're going to appeal.
- 35:03Speaker 1: This one looks like enough is enough. Prince Harry forcefully
- 35:06Speaker 1: coming to the defense of his wife, Megan Marco. The
- 35:09Speaker 1: Princes issued a public letter staying that he's taking legal
- 35:12Speaker 1: action against the publishers of The Daily Mail. The Daily
- 35:15Speaker 1: Mail apparently released one of the couple's private letters, which
- 35:18Speaker 1: the Prince says it violates the Data Protection Act of
- 35:20Speaker 1: twenty eighteen. Is no secret the British press have consistently
- 35:24Speaker 1: demonized the Duchess of Sussex for every little thing, down
- 35:27Speaker 1: to even the way she holds her son. And the
- 35:29Speaker 1: Prince says, the rude way that they've been treating her
- 35:32Speaker 1: reminds him of how they treated his mother, and he
- 35:34Speaker 1: said he'd lost his mother. We've had a lot of
- 35:37Speaker 1: sad news out of the world of entertainment lately. Unfortunate
- 35:39Speaker 1: is now worth The Jamaican reggae artists and actor Louis
- 35:42Speaker 1: Rankin has been killed in a traffic accident in Ontario, Canada.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Louis Rankin appeared in a lot of films, including Belly,
- 35:48Speaker 1: where he called himself the original Dan Dada used to
- 35:51Speaker 1: get there be opportunity and I see it. So we'll
- 36:02Speaker 1: come to JOm me a cop Shoder. We're the reburn
- 36:05Speaker 1: of Kingstone's Firemans. Louis Rankin was fifty five years old.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening show,
- 36:15Speaker 1: all right, we all watched this pretty closely, the trial
- 36:18Speaker 1: of Amber Geiger. She was convicted of murder for killing
- 36:21Speaker 1: both of them. Jean She was fired Dallas police officer.
- 36:25Speaker 1: She now faces five to ninety nine years of life
- 36:29Speaker 1: in prison as punishment because you know she was found
- 36:35Speaker 1: guilty of murder in the trial. Yeah, in her trial,
- 36:40Speaker 1: who decides the years? Who does that? Judge? The judge? Yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 1: always a judge. Yeah, we haven't been in the court.
- 36:46Speaker 1: And have I ever been to court? Tommy? He tom
- 36:49Speaker 1: Who decides the years? Yeah? So Geiger again faces five
- 36:55Speaker 1: to ninety nine years of life in prison as a
- 36:57Speaker 1: punishment phase of her trial begins, and then Texas the
- 37:00Speaker 1: charge is not eligible for parole. Take a listen, Yes,
- 37:06Speaker 1: what happened she walk into the wrong sale when she
- 37:08Speaker 1: get in there. What happened in well, I was asking,
- 37:12Speaker 1: you can't just walking Nobody say let me, She'd be
- 37:16Speaker 1: walking in the wrong places all time. Okay, I didn't
- 37:20Speaker 1: get it. Get your hands on this commissary. Wow uh anyway, um,
- 37:36Speaker 1: I was gonna say, yeah, take a listen. As a
- 37:38Speaker 1: judge read the verdict, the jury having reached the verdict,
- 37:42Speaker 1: miss Geiger and your team, would you please stand We
- 37:46Speaker 1: the jury unanimously find the defendant Amber Geiger guilty of
- 37:51Speaker 1: murder as charged in the indictment no outburst, and it
- 37:56Speaker 1: is signed by the presiding juror, who is juror number eleven,
- 38:01Speaker 1: mister Rogers, would you like to have the jury poll?
- 38:04Speaker 1: All right, you may be seated. Miss Geiger, I like yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Both of Jean's mother raised her hand and cheers broke
- 38:14Speaker 1: out in the hallway outside of the courtroom. It took
- 38:17Speaker 1: the jury five hours to deliberate. Finally some justice for
- 38:21Speaker 1: both of Jean. The prosecution said that murder and not
- 38:24Speaker 1: manslaughter was the right charge because Geiger didn't accidentally discharge
- 38:29Speaker 1: her weapon, she intended to shoot mister Jehan, and the
- 38:33Speaker 1: jury agreed. You know, this man is still dead. Yeah,
- 38:38Speaker 1: but it's it's a bit of a relief to have
- 38:42Speaker 1: a jury see the same thing that we see. That
- 38:46Speaker 1: appears to be rather obvious. And when a deliberation is
- 38:50Speaker 1: five hours in a murder trial, that's somebody who saw
- 38:54Speaker 1: the facts as they were. Yes, and it's very simple,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and to all of us it seemed cut and dry anyway.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Any other verdict for us would have been a disaster.
- 39:03Speaker 1: So justice is when you get what you deserve. Coming
- 39:07Speaker 1: up in thirty four minutes after the hour, we're gonna
- 39:09Speaker 1: talk more about justice for both of Jehan. Right after this,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you're listening to Steven Show all right, so Steve. After
- 39:18Speaker 1: Amber Geiger was found guilty of murderer and the prosecution
- 39:21Speaker 1: and civil attorneys said that the jury made history. Yesterday,
- 39:25Speaker 1: attorney Benjamin Crump, also a friend to the show, said
- 39:28Speaker 1: the conviction of Amber Geiger is a victory for other
- 39:31Speaker 1: unarmed people of color color who were killed by police.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Take a listen. This verdict is for trey ViOn Martin.
- 39:39Speaker 1: It's for Michael Brown. It's for Sandra Bland, It's for
- 39:43Speaker 1: Jamil Rice. It's for Eric Gardner. It's for Antoine Rolls,
- 39:50Speaker 1: Jamail Robots from E. J. Braffett, for Stefan Claude, Jeffrey Dean,
- 39:57Speaker 1: jene Vise Dalls, for Pamela Turner, for so many unarmed
- 40:02Speaker 1: black and brown human beings all across America. This verdict today,
- 40:08Speaker 1: it's for them. Everybody can raise their hand. This verdict
- 40:13Speaker 1: is for them. This verdict is for them. It's a
- 40:18Speaker 1: long list, man, You know that list. It is shocking
- 40:25Speaker 1: when you hear these names of the lives of black
- 40:29Speaker 1: and brown people who die at the hands of police officers,
- 40:33Speaker 1: and nothing happens. Nothing right, Listen, man, nothing happens on
- 40:42Speaker 1: the wrist for the police. It's unthinkable in this country
- 40:47Speaker 1: we live in that a young white person or a
- 40:53Speaker 1: white person period gets murdered and nothing happens to the murderer.
- 40:59Speaker 1: It's it's unthinkable if you can't even if you murder someone,
- 41:08Speaker 1: something has to happen to you for doing it. It's
- 41:13Speaker 1: unthinkable in this country that that can happen. But to
- 41:16Speaker 1: black and brown people, it happens far too often. Man,
- 41:21Speaker 1: It's just far too often, you know. And this is
- 41:24Speaker 1: like listening to that list for me is like a
- 41:26Speaker 1: bitter sweet because I'm so glad this woman was convicted.
- 41:30Speaker 1: But the sad part is, man, when you hear these names,
- 41:32Speaker 1: you go damn, yeah, damn, and you just keep saying damn, yeh, damn, man,
- 41:39Speaker 1: I forgot damn. Hold up, damn. And let me tell
- 41:43Speaker 1: you something. These ain't no names, not in your lifetime.
- 41:49Speaker 1: They didn't go back to Immitill and Mega evers, and
- 41:53Speaker 1: they didn't go back down that list. They bought it
- 41:57Speaker 1: up to modern day. Every body knew these names. You
- 42:02Speaker 1: know how long it's been going on? Have any idea
- 42:05Speaker 1: how long it's been going on? Man? And do you
- 42:08Speaker 1: know how long that it's finally getting natural attention because
- 42:11Speaker 1: of cyberspace. Do you know how many countless people have
- 42:15Speaker 1: died at the hands of brutality simply because it could
- 42:19Speaker 1: get pushed under the rug and hidden because what no Internet?
- 42:23Speaker 1: What no phone cameras? Man, you have any idea? So
- 42:28Speaker 1: when you hear these names, y'all, it ain't just them names,
- 42:32Speaker 1: it's thousands of names. It's like that museum they created
- 42:37Speaker 1: with all them nooses in it. It's thousands, brother, it's
- 42:42Speaker 1: it's it's thousands. This is this is you know what, man,
- 42:47Speaker 1: it's kind of crazy because when I was in Ghana
- 42:50Speaker 1: and I went to the slave castles, which is just
- 42:53Speaker 1: beyond emotion, and it's just beyond you know what I
- 42:57Speaker 1: learned in the slave castles. That's what I want you
- 43:00Speaker 1: all to understand how difficult it was for African Americans.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Twenty the guy the tour guide taught us twenty million
- 43:11Speaker 1: slaves departed from the coast of Africa over a four
- 43:16Speaker 1: hundred year period. Do you know what it ain't but
- 43:18Speaker 1: thirty five million black people in this country? Twenty million?
- 43:22Speaker 1: That number is staggering million millions slaves. According to the
- 43:29Speaker 1: slave rolls at the at the yards, at the castles.
- 43:34Speaker 1: We were in twenty million slaves left the continent of Africa.
- 43:38Speaker 1: It's thirty five million black people in this country. Yeah,
- 43:43Speaker 1: that's staggering. Twenty millions, and in four hundred years then
- 43:46Speaker 1: flipped it into thirty five million. Hold up, y'all, m wow, wow,
- 43:54Speaker 1: All right, Well, you could post your comments on this
- 43:58Speaker 1: story to Steve Harvey FM on Instagram and Facebook. Yeah,

- 44:37Speaker 1: high school reunion? What did you stop it? I stopped
- 44:40Speaker 1: at the twenty field, went that was it? Nobody wild?
- 44:47Speaker 1: I said, Oh, ain't no sense and showing up for
- 44:49Speaker 1: thirty everybody looks different. Yeah, Oh, you're gonna hang. You

- 45:06Speaker 1: it's definitely that was rough. That was rough that I mean,
- 45:09Speaker 1: I cannot give y'all a clue on attending twenty five
- 45:14Speaker 1: and over reunions. If you ain't, if you if you
- 45:21Speaker 1: at the reunion and you ain't shocked, it's because your
- 45:26Speaker 1: ass is doing the shock. That's perfect. Perfect if you
- 45:38Speaker 1: ain't shocked. Dog. If you're just walking around, man, ain't
- 45:42Speaker 1: just nice meeting people. You're grinning the whole time. But
- 45:47Speaker 1: what are people saying that? What are they whispering? Steve?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Oh shit, minute, nod. That's that's there. Ain't noname? Man?

- 46:43Speaker 1: my knowledge, that's the first I ever heard about a reunion. Okay,
- 46:46Speaker 1: well there it's a reunion. Man. She's actually I think
- 46:49Speaker 1: signed up for it. I'm not sure that's why I
- 46:50Speaker 1: asked you, but I think I saw her name was
- 46:52Speaker 1: that she was signed up to. Come. Okay, let me

- 47:48Speaker 1: if it was all right for you, if you didn't
- 47:50Speaker 1: mind if I escorted her to the twenty five year
- 47:54Speaker 1: class reunion. Are you related to No? I mean no,
- 47:59Speaker 1: I'm not related to I just oh, y'all go to

- 49:40Speaker 1: it ain't interested in you. Man. This is not about

- 51:43Speaker 1: to hit it quicking your heel round. I got one
- 51:46Speaker 1: more damn thing to say to you. And then I'm
- 51:47Speaker 1: gonna get off the phone. I'm gonna be thui with it, manten.
- 51:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna be about to say to me, say what

- 53:51Speaker 1: you here. It is the Strawberry Letter. Thank you, nephew.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Dear Steve and Shirley. I am a young man who
- 53:56Speaker 1: is in love with my girlfriend and I feel a
- 53:59Speaker 1: need to protect her. We've been dating for two years
- 54:02Speaker 1: and I've met her family and I love them all,
- 54:05Speaker 1: except for her father. I don't know where to begin.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Her father argues with everyone in the family and he
- 54:12Speaker 1: has started a few fistfights with the other men in
- 54:15Speaker 1: the family. He smokes weed constantly, and he does it
- 54:18Speaker 1: in front of the family. My girlfriend told me that
- 54:21Speaker 1: since she was a little girl, her dad has talked
- 54:24Speaker 1: down to her and was very strict and mean. This
- 54:28Speaker 1: was all before I met her, of course, and he
- 54:30Speaker 1: has never done it around me. As her man. I
- 54:34Speaker 1: swore on everything to protect her and I told her
- 54:37Speaker 1: that if he ever talks to her crazy in my presence,
- 54:40Speaker 1: I will handle it. What her dad doesn't know is
- 54:44Speaker 1: that I'm a fourth degree black belt in martial arts
- 54:47Speaker 1: and I'm licensed to protect other people. Over the weekend,
- 54:51Speaker 1: my girl went to visit her family without me, and
- 54:54Speaker 1: afterwards she came to my house. She said her dad
- 54:57Speaker 1: was high as usual and he held at her a
- 55:00Speaker 1: few times, so she left. Now I feel like I'm
- 55:04Speaker 1: failing her as her boyfriend and as a man by
- 55:07Speaker 1: not being there for her. I could knock this dude's
- 55:11Speaker 1: lights out, But my girl says she will stop sharing
- 55:14Speaker 1: things with me if I cannot control my temper. She's
- 55:18Speaker 1: afraid that I may end up in jail for hurting
- 55:21Speaker 1: her father. I am working really hard to get enough
- 55:24Speaker 1: money to propose to her, and once she's my wife,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I really won't be able to tolerate any disrespect from him.
- 55:31Speaker 1: So should I try talking to her dad now, man
- 55:34Speaker 1: to man or should I just surprise him and body
- 55:37Speaker 1: slam him if he gets out of line again? Okay,
- 55:42Speaker 1: I got this as your girl, and you want to
- 55:44Speaker 1: protect her and all of that, But I mean, are
- 55:46Speaker 1: you crazy? For real? You can't get into any kind
- 55:50Speaker 1: of altercation with this girl's father. I mean, she doesn't
- 55:53Speaker 1: even want you to. She's just telling you out of
- 55:56Speaker 1: her own frustration and what she's been going through. She
- 55:58Speaker 1: doesn't you know, she doesn't like the way that her
- 56:01Speaker 1: dad treats her. But you know, like her most recent
- 56:05Speaker 1: family visit, when she went over to visit her family,
- 56:08Speaker 1: when he gets going and starts acting crazy, she just
- 56:11Speaker 1: walks away. I mean, I know you're her man. You
- 56:14Speaker 1: don't like any of it. I get that. I get that.
- 56:17Speaker 1: But he hasn't put his hands on you. He hasn't
- 56:19Speaker 1: put his hands on his own daughter. He talks to
- 56:22Speaker 1: her crazy. But so you know, this talk of you
- 56:26Speaker 1: knocking his lights out because you have a fourth degree
- 56:30Speaker 1: black belt black belt and all of this, well, you know,
- 56:33Speaker 1: I just think it's a bit premature knocking his lights out.
- 56:37Speaker 1: He hasn't done anything yet, you know. I mean, you
- 56:41Speaker 1: can let her know, of course, that she has your
- 56:44Speaker 1: protection and all of that, and she doesn't have to worry.
- 56:47Speaker 1: But all he does is get high and talk to
- 56:50Speaker 1: her crazy, and she doesn't have to be around that.
- 56:52Speaker 1: You're both grown. She can walk away. He hasn't put
- 56:54Speaker 1: her hands his hands on her, like I said, he
- 56:56Speaker 1: hasn't put his hands on you. You know, is her
- 57:00Speaker 1: father out of order? Most definitely? Should he be doing this,
- 57:04Speaker 1: Absolutely not. But to you, I say stand down for now,
- 57:08Speaker 1: because you know you guys can still just walk away
- 57:11Speaker 1: from this situation. You don't have to be around her dad.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Steve Well, I agree with you, Shirley, because young man,
- 57:22Speaker 1: he keeps disrespecting my girl. As the topic of the letter.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Now you're young, you're in love with your girl and
- 57:28Speaker 1: you feel a need to protect her. I take my
- 57:31Speaker 1: hat off to you. Congratulations. That's what you're supposed to
- 57:34Speaker 1: be towards a woman. Now you've been dating it for
- 57:37Speaker 1: a couple of years and you've met the family and
- 57:39Speaker 1: everybody you get along. You're like everybody, all except her father,
- 57:45Speaker 1: because you say he argues with everybody in the family
- 57:50Speaker 1: and has started a few fist fights with the other
- 57:53Speaker 1: men in the family. He smokes we constantly, and he
- 57:57Speaker 1: doesn't in front of the family. And the girl said
- 58:01Speaker 1: that she since she was a little girl, her dad
- 58:03Speaker 1: didn't talked down to her and very strict in me. Okay,
- 58:07Speaker 1: listen to me. That happens in some families sometimes you
- 58:11Speaker 1: gotta all over strict father, talking crazy and all this hell.
- 58:16Speaker 1: But like Shirley said, he not beating this girl. Now,
- 58:20Speaker 1: does he have a problem. Yeah, he got a real problem.
- 58:23Speaker 1: He got an angle management problem. He got a dope problem.
- 58:28Speaker 1: You know, y'all gonna say smoking weed ain't a dope problem,
- 58:30Speaker 1: but it is when you can't come when you handling
- 58:32Speaker 1: it like this. Everybody don't weed don't affect everybody saying well,
- 58:36Speaker 1: this is one of the people that need a quick
- 58:38Speaker 1: smoking weed. This one of them. I know people that
- 58:41Speaker 1: should not be drinking socially or no other damn weeds.
- 58:46Speaker 1: It just don't affect everybody the same way. Now listen
- 58:50Speaker 1: to me. You said that he has started a few
- 58:54Speaker 1: fist fights with the other men in the family. Now
- 58:58Speaker 1: here's your chance. You got this foth degree black belt.
- 59:03Speaker 1: Now if after you married this girl like you say
- 59:06Speaker 1: you want to, and you say you're not gonna take
- 59:09Speaker 1: no disrespect. Now when you get into when you become
- 59:11Speaker 1: one of the men in the family, and then he
- 59:16Speaker 1: started a fight with you, this could be the time
- 59:19Speaker 1: to end all this because a good ask whopper stops
- 59:24Speaker 1: a lot of argument talking bad A good one. Maruncle
- 59:32Speaker 1: Rayford got his ass whoops so good one time we
- 59:36Speaker 1: an't know had him on trouble out, Uncle Rayford. But
- 59:40Speaker 1: to the ass whipper to do it now, just by
- 59:43Speaker 1: your time get into family married a girl and asked
- 59:46Speaker 1: whopper could happen any day now, But right now, Shirley's
- 59:52Speaker 1: right settled down. I'll come back. I'll give you the rest,
- 59:55Speaker 1: all right. See coming up, we'll have part two of
- 59:58Speaker 1: your response twenty three after the hour. Today's subject he
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: keeps disrespecting my girl. We'll get back into it right
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right, Come on, Steve, let's
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: recap today's Strawberry Letters. Subject he keeps disrespecting my girl.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: All right, dude, listen, young, you love with this girl.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: You want to protect her. You've been dating um. You
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: love a family scepter father, your father August with everybody
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: in the family, talks bad to her. He smoked weed constantly.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: He then started some fights. Now I've told you in
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: this letter, I think since you want to marry this girl,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: the key did this whole letter. He has started a
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: few fist fights with the other men in the family.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Nayless letter, We've discovered that you are fourth degree black
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: belt in martial arts, and I'm licensed to protect other people. Well,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: this could be just the opening that the family. This
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: is dope. This is the gift that you can give
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: to the family. This could be a gift that keeps
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: on giving. Don't tell nobody you got this damn black day.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Keep that to yourself. Over there after family, everybody laughing,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: he coming in smoking. You look at that punk and
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: then you say, excuse me, are you freeing to me,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: mister Johnson. Yeah, I'm talking to you. You look young,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: young ass, punk said mister mister Johnson. No disrespect, but
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I really don't want you disrespecting me or my wife anymore.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Don't tell me this is my daughter I disrespect if
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: I want to. Well, now, while I'm here, I knocked
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: your ass out. I wish you would. Your next statement
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: is I wish you would. That usually provokes high people.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: High people like granting wishes. I don't know why they
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: all think their genius, but as soon as the person
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: get high, they take on the genie mentalityity. You know,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: you'd say I wish you wasn't here what I'm here?
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: So now you say I wish you would. He gonna
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: swing on you, so does he swan let all foe
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: degrees out on his ass at once. But I mean,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: do it quick. You can't pound on him. You just
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: got it's gotta be real quick. Fuck, it's gotta go
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: like that, and didn't go back to talk. Yeah, and
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: then just gonna look now, mister Johnson, I didn't want
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: to do that, but you came up on me and
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: you scared it, and then everybody in fairly gonna be man.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: He'd knocking ass man, man knock with assha. Then the
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: grandmamma be over there. That's good. Falls about time somebody
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: knocked him out. I liked Lord Dar Savior. He took
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: lood Dar Savior to come to Dar Savior. Wow, that's
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Spanish for savior of people, Dar Savior. And that's your chance. Now,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: what didn't happened to you is over the weekend, your
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: girl want to visit her family. And afterwards she came
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: in your house and she said her dad was high
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: as usually yelled at a few times, so she left.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Now I feel like I'm feeling her as a boyfriend,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: as a man by that being there for her. That's
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: a good feeling. Man. You should always maintain these feelings.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I could knock this dude's lights out, But my girl
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: says she will stop sharing things with me if I
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: cannot control my temple because she everybody know pretty much
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: he pretty much harmless, really though. Now you're not from
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: no family like that, but his families like that. And
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: you gotta respect her wishes because the man ain't put
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: his hand on her, and he just yelling at her
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: because here's something wrong with him. And now it's two
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: ways to fix him with three ways therapy. Christ And
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I asked, whooping. Now, a lot of people don't go
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: to church, so you can get this last one quicker
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: at an ass whipping. You ain't got to go to
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: church to get it. You ain't got to hand on
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: money for therapy. You just get his ass whipping and
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: settle it all. She said, she's afraid that I may
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: end up in jail for hurting her father. I'm working
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: really hard to get enough money to propose to her,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: and once she's my wife, I really won't be able
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: to tolerate any disrespect from him. Well, see's son, So
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: here's what you said. Should I try talking to her
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: dad now, man to man or should I just surprise
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: him in body slam even if he gets outlined again.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I liked that in you boy, but that ain't the way.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: But Steve Harve I likes that, an't you? But this
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: hatred her mama gonna be mad at you. The grandmama
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: probably gonna be mad because you're gonna break it back
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: or something. Then they got to roll his tripping ass
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: around in a chair. See it's too much can go
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: bad with this. So what I need for you to do?
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: I think you should talk to him, man to man,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: but you have to talk to him when he ain't high. Johnson,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: can I have a word with you? It just really
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: sounds so crazy when I hear you talking to the
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: family like this, and when you're yelling at Hoo, it
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: really bothers me. Man. Do you think, man, you could
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: look at that a little bit better and be a
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: little kind of because she's really hurt. She wants to
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: have a great relationship. She feels like she never had
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: a chance to because you just keep cussing at him
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: and talking to him, and she really loves you. You
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: can go that route. That's the route Shirley saying, And
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: that's the route I recommend. Then if all that don't
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: work litten to skip this ass, y'all. It might not,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: it might not young playoff, but that's the way to go.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: But if it don't get them both degree as whip out.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: All right, we gotta go, Steve. Listen, email us guys
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: or instagram us your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter at
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Steve Harvey FM, and check out the Strawberry Letter podcast
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: on demand coming up at forty six after the hour.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: There was a mouse in the White House. I believe
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: we'll be back right after this to talk about that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steven Show. In trending political news,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: the leaks coming from the White House are now crossing
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: into the animal kingdom because a mouse fell out of
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: a ceiling, sending reporters into a friend. Wow, mouse on
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: your shoulder, A damn who y'all shot it through a
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: whole camera at this round. A mouse in the White
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: House at sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue. It was yesterday morning
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: when a mouse plunged through the ceiling in the press
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: booth and landed. Steve, you're gonna laugh and a reporter's lap.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: God man. Everybody started running and reporters took off from
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: their seats. There's a video that shows a mouse running
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: behind tables and equipment. One reporter even busted out a broom,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: but the mouse got away. Uh man, damn this budget.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: I thought it was Dad at first, not coming through
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: the ceiling. Yeah, he's alive, and well, yeah that's all.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: I'm not gonna hamburger he over there eating. Ain't throwing
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: that stuff weight up with that? Man never heard about this?
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Why now he now? He nasted to find it out
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: so much, didn't I ain't know. He was nasty, too stupid,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: too much, too much? Man, Oh, I promise you he
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: gonna try to blame this on little babble old Noah, homie,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: you're right. See if you're right, he's flamed everything else
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: on him. Why not this? This? Probably if you told
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: us the story one time. Remember that story you told
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: us about your friend you spent the night over his house?
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Oh man, yeah, we ain't got time to do that
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: story right now. We can't way different from this one
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: mouse or out the white house. We can't. Hell no,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: we can't do it in a minute. And don't ask
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: me too. But I'm not shorten it up. But I
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: tell you right now, way motor, that one damn mouth
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: dropping out of seal. And I'll tell you what, sitting
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: up in this house at three o'clock in the morning
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: was like sitting on the four o five in that
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: you gotta tell us the story when we tell when
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: we come back, I ain't telling you. Hey, I don't know.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: I'm boycotting the story. Let's just let this mouse in
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: the White House be the story for three days. Don't
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: catch it? All right? Well, oh no, ain't got to
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: catch it. Oh hein't buy myself. I was gonna I
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: was gonna promote the fact that Steve's gonna tell us
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: his mouth story. But I ain't gonna do that. He
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: has parents, he's protesting too much. So we'll be back
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to Steve Morning Show. All right, Steve.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: At the beginning of the show, you promised us some
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: ignorance today. Well, I want to ask a question about
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: the r. Kelly thing, because oh, okay, I didn't know
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: he was in jail or anything. It's such a sad story.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Let me ask you a couple of questions. He's in
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: jail in Chicago, yeah, he's in Chicago. You know what jail,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: he's in metropolitan Metropolitan, got but it is Mentropolitans. Yeah,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: and what's the story you was doing another day about
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: this show? Oh yesterday. Well, he wants to um, he's
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: complaining that his health is failing. He says he has
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: numbness in his hand. Um, you know, and he I mean,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: he's been in there for a while. He just he
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: wants to get out. He has anxiety. He was saying,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: there's gonna be some more numbness. Yeah, did that answer
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: your question? Yeah? Anxiety is everybody in prison has anxiety. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: You know untreated hernia remember that? Oh yeah the hernia. Yeah,

- 1:11:35Speaker 1: whenever you want it? Yeah yeah yeah laugh, went half
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: from lunch, Actually took time to decide what treatment I wanted.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: State wasn't paying for choices. Yeah, well, you know I
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: couldn't weight on that. They told me if I waited
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: two weeks, that might go back. You know, didn't you
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: have a herding you two child? Yeah? Yeah, I had one.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I actually did it playing golfing us swinging too damn hard.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I remember that time. What the hell I'm doing? Say
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: what I'm doing? I had one when I was carrying
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: my daughter. So where her when? Hell, we don't know. Yeah,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: now we don't know that time. What songs? Can't he
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: not saying? Jails, Probably gotta probably don't see nothing wrong. Yeah,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: honey love that ain't good. One. Yeah, he can't do
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: that one. No, no more a nisition, he say. My
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: body keeps telling me, yeah, can't do that pro twel
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: play twel player can't do that. Probably don't want to
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: holler that one out. He don't want to say, this
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: is mister big, how you do when mister still want?
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: He can't do that either? Hell no, because we are
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: everybody in the closet. Every dope open is a damn
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: surprise in jail. Yeah, he he don't't do none of them,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: hits him. He really had? What about I believe I fly?
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Can he? Yeah? Fly your ass over that wall? Nothing
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: off the chocolate factory? Is it real chocolate. Yeah, like
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: you know that? So you made me love you. He
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: can't do that one. Oh man, you might be young,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: but I probably I don't even think that's his song.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Sweat jail well, sweat ain't in prison for it. He
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: can't do nothing off TP two dot com not one. Yeah,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: well sweat. When he said young, he was thinking like
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: twenty three. Yeah right, he meant grown grown one more? Ye?
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: What about feeling on your boot? Do that? That's a song?
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Who there's a song called feeling on your boy? Got
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: a song called on your boot. You can't do that one.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: I know what he can do? Can you remind me
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: of my cheek? I can't do that. He can't do that.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: People in prison head jeeps much affection. They might have
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: been really in the name jee well. I think he
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: just down the step in the name of love. All Right.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: We got more of ignorance on the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Show coming up at twenty minutes after the hour, right
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: after say hanging Now you're listening to show? All right, guys.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: So it turns out that Donald Trump and Vladimir is
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: the Lensky, the president of Ukraine, weren't the only ones
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: on that July phone call when Trump asked him to
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: investigate Joe Biden and his son. Secretary of State Mike
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Pompeo was also on the call. This is according to
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: a senior State Department official. The July twenty fifth phone
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: call is the focus of an impeachment inquiry by House
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Democrats following a complaint by a whistleblower about Trump's misconduct.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: While it's not out of the norm for the Secretary
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: of State to be on the call with the President
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: and a foreign leader, Pompeo had not volunteered that he
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: was on the call. He didn't say anything. Pompeo was
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: against He didn't say anything. No. I followed this story
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: shirty as a matter of fact a week ago when
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: he was on CNN and they asked him about it.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: He says, you're asking me something about a report I
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: haven't even seen. Jo ass was on the call, didn't
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: volunteer anything. He acts like he didn't know none of this.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: But you know, they did this thing on CNN of
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: the day, called all the President's men. They were showing
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: the pitch of the president had Juliane Pompey, you know,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: bar all his dudes. These are all old white who
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: have been doing this for years. They're going to band
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: together and come up with a conspiracy theory and these
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Americans gonna believe it, and these damn senators is gonna
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: ride with it and they know he lying. Yeah, especially
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Lindsey Graham. Yes, all right, we got more of the
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up and some trending news
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: at thirty three after the hour. Right after this, you're
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, So, Steve.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: After Amber Geiger was found guilty of murder and the
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: prosecution and civil attorneys said that the jury made history. Yesterday,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: attorney Benjamin Crump, also a friend to the show, said
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: the conviction of Amber Geiger is a victory for other
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: unarmed people of color color who were killed by police.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Take a listen. This verdict is for trey ViOn Martin,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: It's for Michael Brown, It's for Sandra Bland, It's for
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Tamir Rice, It's for Eric It's for Antoine Rolls, Jamara
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Robots from EJ. Bradford, for Stefan Clarde, for Jeffrey din
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: As Genevise dogs, for Pamela Turner, for so many unarmed
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: black and brown human beings all across America. This verdict today,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: it's for them. Everybody can raise their hand, this verticute
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: for ten, This vernicute for ten. It's a long list, man,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: you know that list. It's it's shocking when you hear
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: these names of the lives of black and brown people
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: who die at the hands of police officers and nothing happens.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Nothing right, listen, man, nothing happens. Flap on the police,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: on the risk for the police. It's unthinkable in this
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: country we live in that a young white person or
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: a white person period gets murdered and nothing happens to
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: the murderers. It's unthinkable if you can't even if you
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: murder someone, something has to happen to you for doing it.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: It's unthinkable in this country that that can happen. But
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: to black and brown people, it happens far too often. Man,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: It's just far too often, you know. And this is
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: like listening to that list for me is like a
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: bitter sweet because I'm so glad this woman was convicted.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: But the sad part is, man, when you hear these names,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: you go damn, damned, and you just keep saying damn, yeh,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: damn man, I forgot damn. Hold up, damn, and let
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: me tell you something. These ain't no names, not in
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: your lifetime. They didn't go back to immetill and Mega elbows,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: and they didn't go back down that list. No, they
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: bought it up to modern day. Everybody knew these names.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: You know how long they've been going on? Have any
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: idea how long it's been going on? Man? And do
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: you know how long that's finally getting national attention because
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: of cyberspace? Do you know how many countless people have
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: died at the hands of brutality simply because it could
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: get pushed under the rug and hidden because what no internet,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: what no phone cameras? So when you hear these names, y'all,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: it ain't just them names, it's thousands of names, all right.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Coming up, our last break of the day and some
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: closing remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey at
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: forty nine minutes after the hour, right after this, you're
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: listening all right? Here we are last break of the
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: day before we turn it over to Steven. It's been
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: a good day, by the way, been a great day.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Right before we turn it over to Steve for his
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: closing remarks, Tommy, you wanted to say one last thing
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: before we get out of here? Did I wanted to
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: say this? And y'all tell me from right now. George
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Bush found Saddan Hussein, right, and Barack Obama found being
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: locked and Donald Trump can't find the snitch in his
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: own damn house? Am I right wrong? Keep talking about
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: whistle blow? Whistle blow? You can't find here in your house.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: I don't want him to find him? Goods? Yeah, the
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: situation really? Yeah? All right, Steve, take us home. You
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: know this is a really encouraging thing for people. Um.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: I just want to talk to you about keeping the faith. Um.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: You know, it's gonna be a lot of turns in
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: your life. You know. I was. I was doing this
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: thing with Publishers clearing House the other day. We were
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: going over to some people's homes and we were giving
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: away these ten thousand dollars checks. I mean, this is
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: really real. And they not only have the big check
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: with your name on it. When we get ready to
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: walk away, we actually hand the person the actual check.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: They get a check with their name on it. They
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: can take it to the bank right the end. And
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: that and I was leaving and this one Hispanic couple
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: stopped me, and this woman had a cast on her arm,
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: and she said, mister Harvey, can I speak to you
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: for a minute. You're such an inspiration to me. I'm
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: listening to your radio show all the time. And I said, well,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: I'll thank you well. The publishers clearing house cameras kept rolling,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: and I knew they were over my shoulder, but I
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: had to talk to this lady because she was sad.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: She said, how do you keep the faith when things
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: are going wrong in your life? I said, well, something
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: going wrong right now? She said yes. I said, hasn't
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: something gone wrong before? And I was just being real
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: nice and encouraging to the lady, and I was just
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: talking to him. And as I was talking to I
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: started thinking that and and and I'm gonna share with
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: you what I shared with her. I said, you know what,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: if you remain faithful, it always turns around. Now, it
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: may not turn around in the time frame you have
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: in mind, but it always turns around. As a matter
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: of fact. God is so good and so merciful, even
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: when you don't remain faithful to it, he turns it
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: around for you anyway. It's so crazy, man, how he works.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: You know, the fact that you have given up hope
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: does not stop him for issuing out his grace and
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: him doesn't stop him from issuing his mercy. He does
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: it to the just, he does it to the unjust,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: He does it to evil people, he does it to
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: the righteous. He just gives us all breaks all of us.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: And I was telling the lady, I said, you know,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: if you remain faithful, it's gonna turn around. She said,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: but it seems like it never does. And I said
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: something to her that I've said something on the radio
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: of quite a few times now. I said, let me
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: ask you something. I said, I don't know you man.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: She said, I'm thirty two. I said, okay, I'm sixty two.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: In sixty two years, i've had I got to thinking,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: probably at least a thousand really bad days. Out of
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: my sixty two years, I've had about a thousand really
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: bad days. Probably a little bit more than that, but
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: some of my forgot about it. So I said, thirty two,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I said, you've probably had off. Can you think of
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: a hundred bad days that you had? She said, oh, yes,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I've had more than a hundred bad days. I said, okay,
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. Of those hundred bad
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: days that you've had and of the thousand bad days
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: that I have, Can I tell you something that you
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: and I have in coming? She said, mister Harvey, I
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: don't have anything in coming with you. I said, yes,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: you do. I said, I've survived a thousand bad days.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: You've I've had a thousand bad days. You've had a
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: hundred bad days. I said, guess what, we've both survived
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: all those bad days. I said, young lady, your track
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: record for surviving bad days is one hundred percent. All
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: of y'all out there is having bad days. Think of
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: all the bad days you've ever had, you survived them all.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: You're gonna survive the this one too. Now, imagine this
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: with not even realizing that God was taking care of
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: you in your past, with just faith in mercy. Imagine
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: this suppose you actually thought, faithfully, Wow, thank you Lord
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: for all that you've gotten me through, and therefore I
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: know you're gonna get me through this. Imagine if you
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: made that simple step, what would it hurt you? I mean, really,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: it couldn't hurt you at all, because without you asking
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: him before, he's gotten you through it, and he brought
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: you through it so smooth. Some days you woke up
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: and it was just gone and you didn't even know it.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: You don't even have enough sense to thank him. You
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: just got up and all of a sudden you had
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: survived it. Well, guess what suppose you applied that little
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: piece of faith to it and just said, you know what, Lord,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: I know today is a rough day, but I want
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: to thank you for all the rough days you got
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: me through before, and I just I'm anticipating that you're
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: gonna get me through this one. That little act of
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: faith right there, acknowledging God for what he's done for
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: you in the past and expecting him to do it
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: for you again. That's the relationship he's looking for from us, man,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: and he keeps providing us with proof that he's available
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: all the time for us. So y'all stay faithful, because
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: every time it's gone wrong in the past, you survived
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: that one too. Don't you see that He has never
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: left you, that he's always been there, don't you see? Man?
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: Wake up, everybody. God is good. All right, it's my
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: closing remarks to day. Stay faithful, y'all have a great weekend.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Talk to God because he's learn to hear from you.
