- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and welcome to very amusing.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: You're one stop shop for the story secrets and shenanigans of a popular fuel theme park journalist and I'm part of the way that I'll get you believe it!
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, my voice is back.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: My voice is back!
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: That was really loud, and I just saw like the whole soundbar flow out, but it doesn't matter because baby, I'm back.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: And not just in these throat-al-region, because I am physically back, I just got home from Walt Disney World, which is something I said into this might
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I basically whispered this and whispered that into the mic a couple of weeks ago because I have no been to Disney world Two weeks out of four.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: I basically spent half a month.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: It Disney world, which Friend anybody else would be extreme for me.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of like all right, buddy I'm on the horse.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm gonna be home for two more weeks and then I'm gonna go to Disney world And right, don't go to Disney world three weeks.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna feel quite upset because I sure enjoy spending a lot of time there
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: A friend today asked me, oh, are you like totally sick of Disney World now?
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, no, I was realizing, while I was there, that I don't like being there and not knowing what I'm coming back.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I know a lot of you know what that feels like, which is why today we are going to get into basically just like a lot of hot takes I have.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: And things I haven't really mentioned on the podcast yet, because I know we've talked a lot about Disney World lately.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Guess what?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's more.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: There's always more, because there's a lot of stuff that I really learned about myself and how I visit and how I want to visit in the future from this trip.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I really want to get into it.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just love
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just love it there.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know man.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I just love it there.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: I posted a dumb video being like like Disney world, like Disney adults.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is what it is like to like us.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm freezing this shortly.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: This is what it's like to enjoy sports team only like our finals are every single day.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: And the fact that we happen to love something that's open 365 days a year, we are so lucky.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: We're so lucky that the only thing keeping us from there is like finances and responsibilities.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Because a lot of times, you know, if you're a Nick's fan, you waited 4-bit Jillian years for them to get to the finals for us.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Did he always there?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's always there.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing that stopped it was COVID and for Florida didn't even stop it for that long.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: So we are just very lucky.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm feeling very lucky and appreciative that I love something that is...
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, accessible question mark in many ways of the word.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: But we are going to get into it this week.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about admission types.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about shocking food reveals we're going to talk about and truly like hot takes about things I never ever thought I would say a lot in a can't wait to get into it so stick around it's going to be wonderful and also depending on when you're listening to this there is a new segment with Becky right after this about discounts and we're going to talk about discounts in the episode but like truly like these like the discounts that they roll out they go quick these days do not miss them it's just a great way to save money.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get into one of the main episodes too.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: So stick around, um, it's another Disney World joint!
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Woo!
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: We, of course, are talking about the trip I just got back from.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: To refresh your memory in case you don't listen to this every week on the date comes on on Wednesdays also like, what are you listening to on your drives music.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: In case you have the listening lately, I a few weeks ago did also go to Disney worlds that was a work trip.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: I brought my child on that.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: My mom met us there.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Um, we stayed at Disney's Puerto Orleans River side.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I feel like I was in the podcast.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and it was a work trip.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: So we did a lot of new stuff.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of rides prioritized all the work I had to do.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: This trip, um, if you hear a clank in the background, that is me just de-clong taking off all my jewelry that makes noise in the background during
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: this episode because I should do this off-mic, but honestly, I'm very envious of those podcasts, which are like sitting on a couch with a microphone, and to me, like I want to just channel that energy of being chill, I like to stand when I record, I feel more, more alert when I'm sitting, I kind of slouch and I kind of fall asleep, so I stand, but I'm also wearing so much jewelry and it gets picked up in the background to take that off.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: So this is my, this is my version of sitting on a couch, just, oh, get in, get in comfy, we're in comfy, shoes, and we're in sneakers, just take it on a jewelry, okay.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, back to what we were talking about.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: This trip was pure vacation.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: And even though I travel for a living, I rarely end up going to Disney World on vacation.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's usually a work element to it.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Even if I add a day here and there, even if I do love what I do, and I love to go to Disney World almost more than anywhere else in the world, it is always a work.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Trip, it is rarely pure vacation and this was pure vacation because I got my husband to go back to Disney World for the first time in about four years.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: The last time he was there was when he caved when I was pregnant and wanted like a mini baby movie.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: We basically like planned like a mini baby moon and then there was, if you remember a few years ago, there was really severe weather and floor.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there obviously has been multiple times, but that was maybe severe weather.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: You weary march something like that?
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: No, because I haven't been pregnant.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's when I had baby I don't remember how time works, which is gonna come up in this episode Basically long story short.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it was the fall must have been the fall There was weather we had to cancel our trip and then we ended up going back in the little redoo For a mini baby mood We went to Orlando and it was the last time he had been there so it's about four years ago
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: Because it was vacation because we were there kind of for Ben's job, Noah's tour as you guys know kicked off in Orlando on my birthday when I saw the tour routing because we basically planned our entire summer travel and all of my work around all of our both of our works around the tour when I first saw the routing I was like cool so you're fully going to Disney world like sorry you have no excuse my birthday first night of tour
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: is happening.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: So we planned this whole trip around that.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: We were there for about a week.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was wonderful and as you probably know by now, which I've posted a little bit online by now by the time you listen to this, but we stated the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Um, which is something I think delicately because it is a no brainer to be like, wow, I had an incredible stay at the four seasons like yeah, you bet I did the freaking four seasons It's basically my favorite hotel on planet earth.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: It is wonderful.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: It is Disney and it is luxury and it is great and while I do have a couple of
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: things that I will get into about it because I do think there are some perks to staying with at Disney World at a proper Disney operated hotel.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: I talked about this a lot in subscribers last week, but I'm going to talk about it here also.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: It is exceptional.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: It is exceptional to be somewhere where like there's a concierge and there's a tablet in the room and you can schedule room service delivery.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And you can anything you need, you let them know.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: I looked, I was like, what do you mean?
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: There's a whole menu on this tablet.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: I ordered a body pillow.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I got to sleep with my body wrapped around like a six foot pillow tube.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was awesome.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just like a nice hotel is unlike anything else.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I've said it before and I'll say it again.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: If I was not doing this, I would likely be
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: fully reviewing luxury hotels period like that's all I would be doing because I have so many thoughts about them and I can be in them and I'll be wowed, but it'll still be like hmm there's not enough lighting in this closet like I just have this little like boom like this brain that just really homes in and critiques things and I just I just love doing it and it was wonderful I mean shocker but that's not what we're talking about this week that's not why this isn't a traditional recap episode because if it was it would basically be like we went to the park and then we came back and we were at the hotel and the hotel was great and that's not what
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: We won't talk about it a bit.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we're making a lot of social media videos.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm also just kind of wanted to focus on the fact that I went to Disney World for half the month.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Half the month.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember there was a time when I was like pregnant and had a baby and I didn't go to Disney World for like almost a year?
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, we are in the thick of it and I have so much to say about it.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: I have a lot of hot takes, but just from the jump, I want to let you know a little bit more about our trip from, you know, the macro view.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, I was at Disney World for a week, which is a lot for me when there is not a worked trip associated with it.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: We went to all four parks, which we will get into, and we spent a lot of time balancing between the hotel and the parks.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Typically, if I am there, my mom is there, my husband was there, my daughter was there and I was there.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: And typically if it's me, my mom, especially, but also me, my mom and Pearl, we will be running and gunning it to the theme first because that is what we do.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: That is what we like to do the most more than anything truly.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: But because Ben was with us, we didn't really want to torture him to be honest because that's how I tend to be.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: We spent a lot more time at the hotel than I usually would.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it was interesting because it was just naturally a different type of trip because of that.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't often reference what I post on Instagram subscribers that much, but before we get into it, I just wanted to talk about this from the jump because I think it's very, very important.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: So, someone, a few people are asking me similar questions.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: They're basically asking me like, what is the difference between four seasons and a Disney hotel?
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what is the, what is the absolute perk of Singapore seasons?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like, how do these two different beasts compare?
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: And basically, to reiterate what I said there because I do think it needs to be said here, is that four seasons is a luxury hotel.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: If you need anything at any time, they got you.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you can basically order any food and they will make it for you.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: You can do a, you can text them and they will take care of it.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I scheduled a capuccino to be delivered to me in honor of my birthday at a specific time in the morning.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it is just a high, high, high standard of quality.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: And how a four seasons resort Orlando compares with a Disney Deluxe Hotel is that Disney Deluxe hotels are really, in my opinion, luxury and brand only.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you don't have a concierge.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have additional access to the restaurants in your hotel if you're a paid guest there.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I've talked about this a lot about, especially about the Polly.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're staying at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort,
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: you should have access to the teaky bar.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like you should have better access to these locations than people who are just coming in.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: And the fact that you don't, to me, beyond like the 60 day booking window, well, not even for that, because it's different.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you should have better access to the things at the hotel you were staying at, which you absolutely do not.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's also the bedding, the Four Seasons bed is so nice that my mom is trying to buy one, like just the absolute most comfortable the pillows, it was just all, it was so wonderful, it was so wonderful and like at a Disneymer hotel, my magic kingdom for the comforter.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Give me a duvet, you know what I mean?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, why?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Why just a sheet?
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Why do they have the same bedding set up as my overnight camp in Wisconsin?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like their just needs, if there's no, like there's none of those touches even in a hotel room that you could be paying $900 for a night.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: And what really surprised me about this trip is that there are a lot of perks to four seasons resort Orlando obviously, but the Disney parks perks that you get with Disney hotels is actually pretty good.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: We did not have the seven day lightning lane booking window for our trip that you traditionally have when you stay with Disney and we felt it.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: It was a lot harder to book our lightning lanes.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't even purchase a tron lightning lane in advance.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: I could only purchase, we had different ticket types, which we will talk about, but I could barely get a guardian.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was very, very complicated to get our lightning lanes during summer, during a busy time, only three or so days out, because we were traditional guests.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: And while four seasons resort does have early morning entry, we're not using that, because we're from the West Coast.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: For me, the big perk of like a Disney hotel or a Disney Deluxe hotel, the best benefit, are those deluxe evening extended hours.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because while most people, the vast majority of people do kind of want to get their early and take advantage of that half an hour, but that is the perk available to many hotels, what like 25, maybe even 30 hotels when you count all the third party hotels, the swan, the dolphin, things like that, all the other hotels, all the Disney Springs area hotels, all of those.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: But if we're talking, that Disney Deluxe perk,
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that you basically have an after hours party in a theme park a couple nights a week, if it works for your schedule, that is a massive, like a massive, massive benefit to the point, where there was one night where it looked like it might, it wasn't going to, but like, you know, in my, in my head I was like, oh, we can make a work where we can make a deluxe evening, extended evening hour benefit, which by the way, for now familiar is two hours at night and select nights and select parks where you can go to the park and there's like basically nobody there's basically empty, it's absolutely wild.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I was considering buying a secondary hotel room just to gain access to that because that secondary hotel room would have been a comparable price to us getting like an after hours event ticket.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: It was my experience with these deluxe events have been that good where I just think they're incredible and I was a little sad.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: I was a little sad that we didn't get it and there is a lot of Disney magic at a Disney hotel.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: You
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: You get characters that just appear out of nowhere, which is something they've been adding more, which I think is fantastic.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Having transportation right there to a park, non-bus transportation, put a pin in that, we're going to loop back on it.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: That is really, really special.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: The cast members also aren't always incredible, and like the feeling, the feeling is fantastic.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: But when you were truly on a vacation,
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Something like, I mean, again, and like, oh, it's like, the sky is blue.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: The sun is bright for seasons rocks.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's just really not much more I can tell you about it here.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: But it really, um, they're even without the, you know, the lightning lane, even with the lightning lane difficulties, it was fantastic.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not even a hot take.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because we have 18 of them lined up for this episode.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I think we should just, we should just, we should just kick it up.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Because I spent so much time didn't even really can't be just all you about it.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: The first thing we gotta talk about,
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: I love Epcot without a festival.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I love Diet Epcot as many people call it.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: To feel emptiness, Morty's knocking on the, I can hear Morty scratching at the door because he's like, yeah, get me in on this.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: I also love MD Epcot.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know how nice it is to be in a theme park you love, and that's theme park feels empty, blissful.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: And this is obviously coming from somebody who calls Disney Land Resort home, where everything is jammed.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like you are fully jammed in every walkway, unless it's a random day where there happens to me not a lot of people there, which doesn't really happen anymore.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but to be at World Showcase and go,
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: Haa!
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: And to really be able to move freely is fantastic.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's obviously it's a, it's a, it's a written fact that I do not love a festival.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a festival, girly.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: However, even if you do love a festival, I feel like you've got to recognize that like,
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: having more easy, breezy move around space at Epcot where you can focus on the actual things that are there and not be distracted by a tiny plate of food.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: It is so lovely.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: It is so lovely.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I've mentioned this before, but not having to worry about being around drunk people when you are at a Disney theme park is fantastic.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: It is really, really nice because I do not like that feeling of being fully sober, walking around, being like,
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like that and here was just oh, and I know that means there's a little less entertainment But we actually saw a lot of characters out which feels like it kind of filled that void and there was a ton to do And it was just a lovely lovely time to be in Epcot sense festival.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was just a really good feeling
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, of the thing I gotta talk about, there's really nothing like non-bus transportation to a park.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: There's really nothing like it.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Staying near Apcot, Hollywood Studios, in that circle of Boardwalk Beach Club, yacht club Swan, Dolphin Swan Reserve, being there and being able to boat or walk over to either of those parks, mwah, impeccable.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Being off the Mongrail and going to the Magic Kingdom, fantastic.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Taking a boat to Magic Kingdom, also great.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm always gonna go with the Mongrail
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: But having a non-boss transportation where you're in a themed environment to get to the park is great.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I do feel similarly about Skyliner.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I would rather stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach than Portland's Riverside because you have Skyliner access.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, thanks Skyliner access is huge.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: But Skyliner access is always a little, like I always feel like you never, you never know.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: You never know if you're going to get held.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: Also, can you just talk about like, I don't like them.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so when you take the Skyliner,
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: and you're heading to Epcot, and you pass the river era, and you have the little switch back at the river era, and then there's the other switch back right before you pass over Epcot France and kind of like, boardwalk?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that, I don't like that.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: I, and like every time my mom is worried about it, and every time I'm like mom, we're not, like everything's fine, we're just like pulling into the station and pulling out.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: It still stresses me out.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I always stress me out when you're like going through that curve, you know that turn, I don't like it.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it, I love the skyliner,
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even have a little moment, I don't even have a moment.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, basically, as Stang somewhere where it was all bust twice in a row, I mean, we weren't going to Disney Springs, so the boat for Port Orleans is moot.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like, like, not, not, you know, not being a big bust, being bust or ready for the whole trip.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: I do miss being close to the park and just getting a taste, just getting a taste, being able to dip back in so easily is
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: incredible and we were kind of vehicle bound the entire time which can be a deterrent to getting back to the park later at night or going another time and just really made me appreciate how big of a perk it can be to be speed so close to the parks.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin?
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: This is, this is why I love them because I think it's a really good middle ground between a real hotel, which is four seasons as a real hotel, a real hotel that operates like a proper hotel that has things you may need, which we'll talk again.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: There's more of that coming soon, and having the Disney magic because you are right there.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now this trip, as I said, was vacation.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so we prioritized a lot of vacation over running and gunning it and theme parks.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: And while theme parks are always the highlight of my visit to Orlando, putting the vacation back into vacation was pretty good too.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: We took it quite easy most days of this trip and while we did cause me to fully crash out more than once.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: I actually had, I mean, I always have a secretite scenario.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: My theory, I had one night that was like, leave this night open for if Carly is short circuiting and needs to just get a theme park fix.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: I did not get to go to the theme park that night.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: which means that on my birthday, as you know, I went to Epcot for 35 minutes because I just needed, oh, I did a little taste, I need a little more.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: But some of our best memories were just the time we spent at the pool and I know the lore of Disney World is like the kids love the pool more than the parks.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I actually had a lot of fun at the pool too.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't expect it.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think one of the highlights of our entire trip was when Pearl and I went swimming at night.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: We were planning on going in the afternoon, but there was weather, so we had to wait.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: And we like had dinner, we hung out, and then the weather cleared, and she looked out the window, and was like, oh, I think the weather, I think we can go swimming.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: And so I called them and they're like the pool's nominal nine.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're good.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: And so with like 815 at night, we went, we must have been a little earlier, because we went under the pool, we saw sunset.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: We ended up swimming once the sun was down, and it was just so lovely.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like the time we spent at the hotel was lovely.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: I always do a hotel as secondary.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's always like the parks, and then the place I crash is secondary to that.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just so nice to spend time there.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we were at a glorious hotel.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Again, four seasons just being there is like an exhale.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I do feel this way for a lot of the Disney hotels because they are really an extension of the magic.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: We had a little time left over on our final day and I was like, what should we do?
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: And the only thing I craved was taking the monorail around the magic kingdom resort area hotels.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because,
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: it really is an extension of the magic.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Those Disney hotels really are special.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I think prioritizing more times at more time with hotel is something I'm going to do in the future even on a shorter trip because just having those few hours really soak up that different kind of Disney magic, a calmer Disney magic at your hotel, I think is really special.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: And for people who like
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: have a bunch of kids and go to the pool at the time.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm talking about but I'm not a sit by the pool person.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to lay on the lounge chair.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even want to do that at the hotel we were at.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like sitting.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: But just having a little time in the water and chilling out to balance our theme park day.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like we basically only went to the park mid-morning to early afternoon.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: They were short bursts.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: Even on our most packed day, we left.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: mid morning and then we got back mid afternoon and it really was so nice to have that mid afternoon through evening gap to be able to just do other stuff and recharge for the parts.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know I've changed.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: I've changed it.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: It took a lot of time to get me there but vacationing on vacationing was pretty good.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: And while I did say this online, I strongly believe this to be true that the best part of your trip will not be what you have a lightning lane for.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: However, when I have not said, is that the interactive experiences you book might actually be.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Let me explain.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: We went on a lot of rhymes and had a lot of memories made on these attractions, but we didn't walk away going, wow, all of us writing frozen ever after together was the highlight of our trip, not at all.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: But the things I keep thinking about as like the best perks of this past week, some some of those were meals and not just because of the food, because they were special meals.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: We had two sit-down meals, one at beer garden in Epcot, fantastic, and another at Cinderella's Royal Table.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, we went big this trip and we did both of them.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I do feel like each of those well very different.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: Beer garden is a buffet with live music and a show.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Cinderella's Royal Table is table service restaurant in Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom with princesses couldn't be more different, but both were so special.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: because they weren't just meals.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I, on our first trip to Disney World this month, we had dinner at 50s prime time, which is a lot of people's favorite restaurant.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: And it was fine, it was totally fine, we had a good meal, it was a long day, so we were pretty tired.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: But like, it was a totally fine experience.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, it wasn't the heightened experience of either of these restaurants.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just that there were characters at one of them.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: It was really that they got us like up and moving and interactive.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: And interrupts are interacting like being able to eat at beer garden and get up and dance and play that was so fun and that's something that is sometimes missing from the Disney experience.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: As you know, one of the most successful and best parts of cool consumer is that they have these interactive dance parties.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: You can move around and like physically be a part of the stuff happening in Disney world.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: And it made that beer garden meal so special that all of us were up and dancing and then watching music.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: and being able to like, I don't know like touch the arts while you're at a meal is really special.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_00]: And while Cinderella's Royal Table is not my favorite restaurant by any means, I did have the best meal of my trip.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're which I'm floored by.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of pieced together.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: You guys know I have a lot of tummy issues and they had stuff on the menu that worked for me but it wasn't all one dish.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, is it possible to get this salmon but with like this vegetable and this side?
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was like rice and asparagus and they were like, I think we can talk to the chef and do that.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was so good.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: The salmon was so good, so well cooked.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: shockingly good.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's in your oil's oil table.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: I find that restaurant to be quite chaotic.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: The seating is also beautiful or garbage.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: We were sitting garbage.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: We were on the sides where it's very dark.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's like weirdly dark like you're in a waiting room and then the middle is like beautifully well lit from the windows.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: But everyone we encountered was so lovely.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: It was just like it was a really, really nice experience and we hadn't been to a princess dying.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we were planning to go to Akashus, Akashus, Akashus, I want to say, Akashus.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, God, I don't know how I'm saying that, right?
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Akashus at Epcot, again, a princess meal.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: We were unable to go because it was the end of our trip, and it just, the toddler stuff didn't happen.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: So we went to this, this is Pearl's first princess meal, and it was just kind of, it was nice.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: It was just like nice, it was such a nice experience, such a memorable time.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: specifically because she encountered princesses she's never spoken to.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: She didn't know who Meredith was when we got there, but then later that week we ended up watching part of brave and she loved it.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I love that her entry point into these films was just meeting the princess and being like, she seems fun.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: What's her deal?
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Cinderella's, Cinderella's, Cinderella's
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't get that from a ride and we had a great time on rides.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like a mind blowing entry into cinematic art.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: And so for us, those two really, really worth it.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like the best part of your trip won't be lightning lane, but some of the other stuff you book might actually be the highlight.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: I gotta say, there's nothing I love more than having a stupid routine at Disney World, a stupid little gag routine at Disney World, because I've joked many times, then my child will only have her haircut, and what is the world, and harmony barbershop on Main Street USA because yeah, there's a barbershop inside the Magic Kingdom, and it's the only place my child has ever had her hair.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: Cut.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: She's almost three and a half.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's tricky to lie to line up.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's tricky to line up her hair is grown real fast.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: But nope, she's had two haircuts in her life, and both of them, boom, have been at the Magic Kingdom.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: That was something I booked 60 odd days out.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: I was determined to keep this dumb gag alive, and so far we made it.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to make it to probably at least four years with her only haircuts being inside Disney's magic kingdom.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's so funny.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's funny.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's funny to have like a dumb little routine that you always stick with.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: For me, now I have my my job resorter locked in, ready to go.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: I got to get a job freeze.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: If I can, I bring one back to the hotel room.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I gotta get me a job freeze.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like, for me, it's funny to me that like, I'm not, if I'm there, I gotta job freeze in my hand.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I just can treat myself to that.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: And treat myself to that six dollar ish cup of joy.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so fun.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so fun to have a stupid little gag.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, she got her haircut again.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Hermery Barbershop, they're running a tight ship there.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you, because what's the wildest thing to me is that I'd never been in there until I had a kid.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: You walk in and you're like, hi, I have an appointment.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like a restaurant where they pull it up and you know, there's like 15 names lined up for like all of the dinner reservations, it's like name name name name name name name name name name name name no dude.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's basically like TikTok toe.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a freaking quad square and they see do they want to point me in what every 15 minutes like there's no availability because there's literally nothing, there's like nothing available.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: They have, they have, there was like this big sheet of paper with squares and I think it was just like the cross one of the squares off and that was us and there were only a few squares left.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: It is a wild reservation game to get in there, but we did it.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: I booked it early enough.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: It worked out great.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's only like 10 minutes, which was fun.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: Pearl behaved wonderfully.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: Not like she's misbehaved, but like you know you always worry if like I don't want them to cry and I want her to be stressed like she's a little sensitive soul and I love her and I adore her.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: She did great and it was so fun and like to have that memory until like see It's like see her face and the end they put so much glitter in her hair and it was chalky glitter I'm talking like confetti.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: They have it's not the same as when you get pixie dusted at Baby Bobbie boutique boutique which is something we do at Disneyland where you walk in And you're like can we please me pixie dust and then I'll put some glitter in your hair and it's just thin little glitter No, it was like New Year's Eve confetti and it was it's still in her hair I've watched her a million times since still in there and it's fun a little take them souvenir.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mind it
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: But it was like chunky and so they put all this in and then they show them the mirror And you get to see her gives your kid look in the mirror and be like, wow my hair Brilliant for like ten minutes fantastic.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was so joyful and I love that I have made this happen Simply because I have a dumb gag where she has to get her hair cut there
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I just gotta tell you guys, another hot take.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: When Disney World has a discount, pounds, okay, pounds, pounds on it.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm gonna give you two reasons why.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: One, for this trip, my mom and I have annual passes where they're all the time.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: But Ben and Pearl don't.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't buy heart tickets a lot.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: And every time I do, I'm gobsmacked by what they cost.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: It is a lot of money.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: I am an annual pass.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I just pay one IP one time and I go, ooh, that hurt and then I don't think about it again for an entire calendar year.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's one bad day and then everything is fine.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's like doing taxes, which is something I don't do because I'm too stupid to do in my husband to smart.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm, it's just one bad day.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: One bad day when you find an annual pass.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: But the tickets are expensive.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: You all know this.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: So when I went to buy their tickets and it's especially painful when you have a three-year-old because it's like you were Three a hundred days ago like you were free a couple when you were just free you were free a second ago But I bought them the four-day ticket deal which they currently have it's a four-day ticket You get admission to one park each day and Everybody's saying like oh, it's a hundred nine dollars per day.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: It starts at a hundred nine dollars per day But you know what I found out in the middle of this trip, you know, and I found out
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually less than that now.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to look at up just to make sure nothing changed since when I looked at this two days ago, but the ticket deal is now $99.99 per day, which is bonkers.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this is not saying $109 per day, but I swear I saw it.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: Hold on.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: Hold on.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: I swear I saw it from $99.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: I took screenshots because I knew that I hadn't seen that before.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Was it a mistake?
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: Was it a mistake?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, they're just not advertising it.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, okay, so here's the deal.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: It is, yes, it's from, okay, okay, okay, I am right.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I am right Disney is not.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: The pricing on this ticket is actually lower than Disney is telling you.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: That is why I'm like, guys, plan your trip.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so there is this deal.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: You've probably heard of Becky and I've talked about it.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's from $109 per day.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: You get access to one theme park a day.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: When we bought it for June, it was more than $109 per day.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: Um, bend impulse tickets started on different days.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it was like 115 for each day for her and maybe like 120 something each day for him.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: But here's the deal.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_00]: This offer and like I didn't I should have fact checked with this, but I'm just I'm just going with the bikes.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: This offer is now through September 26th, which I didn't think was happening.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: This four-day magic ticket deal is now all the way through like deep into almost proper Halloween season.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: But it is what six or seven weeks of actual theme park Halloween season.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: And once you get into like September 9th through, what is this?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: 20 seconds.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: September 9th or 22nd.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: This ticket...
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: is $99.75 a day, which means that if you are getting a four day ticket, it is going to be $399 a person.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: That is the lowest it's going to be, and that is bonkers that they have that now for September.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: They also have it, this $100 range is also August 11th, on select dates August 11th through August 28th.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, absolutely, while if your school starts late, you can do a like a grab and go quick trip for a very, very affordable price.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: And even though ours was on actually the most expensive range of this ticket from what I can see, it was still cheaper for me to buy Ben a four day magic ticket than a proper
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: three day one park per day ticket like that's how good of a deal this ticket is and I'm telling you this because we saved hundreds of dollars just by planning our trip around this ticket instead of just being like we might want a park hopper like we might have to go to app cop twice by using this ticket we saved hundreds of dollars and that was only for two people like
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: This goes through September, you can easily plan a trip around this and spend way less than you're anticipating.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: When you pair that with some of the hotel deals they have, guys, just like, don't miss out.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to miss out because I'm always like, I'm just feeling like I can see the future.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: And once a bunch of new stuff opens and these parks are super busy and like maybe international travel goes back to one it used to be.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to have deals like this, like we got a pounce on me.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: and that doesn't just go for people who need tickets.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: This also goes for people like me.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Annual passholders.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because they currently have, during summer, this special 40% off-select restaurants on weekdays for a limited time, I'll give you all the dates in a second.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: But for a limited time, you get 40% off-select restaurants, and the savings will blow your friggin' mind.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's wild because I need to make a video about this because there's so much Disney noise lately There's so many news.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: There's like Savannah bananas and there's rides and there's videos like there's so much happening That it's really hard to grasp this stuff when it does happen But there are these things.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: There's like VIP passholder summer days Which I usually see and I'm like great.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna give me a magnet.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a magnet person.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mind No, no, ah, there are such good perks.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so Monday through Thursday may first through July 31
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you do have about five more weeks, but if you were going during the summer, listen up, Monday to Thursday, if you have a lunch at beer garden, lunch or dinner at Gordon Grill, character meal, dinner at Tiffins, lunch or dinner at Tuscarhouse, character meal, Kate May Cafe dinner, which I don't think dinner is a character meal, Toledo dinner, whispering, canning cafe, brunch and dinner, Hollywood and Vine character meal, any time of day, you get 40%
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: off, and I used this on both of my trips who went to Tusker House for lunch, and then on this trip, we went to Beergorn for lunch, and you will get the bill, and you will lose your freaking mind, because I swear my mom, Pearl and I, went to Tusker House for lunch, character meal, incredible food.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: Our bill was a little over $100.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: for three people to eat really good food, all you can eat, and to meet characters.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then we went to Beerkarten, which again, all you can eat really great food, entertainment, music, dancing, and our bill was around $100 again.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: I actually don't understand the math on that, because there were three adults, so maybe they didn't charge pro, but I also didn't pay the bill, been paid it, it's not realizing like, oh no, maybe I would've told them how I thought about it, but I'm so bad at math, I was just like,
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: 40% off.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even think about it.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oops.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry Disney.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: I owe you a few dollars, but I'm sure I'll get it from you in the future It is so nice to get a billback and be like, oh my gosh I saved a lot of money, which isn't a feeling you get a lot at a theme park Because they don't usually like this 40% 40% so again I know we talk about a lot about like feel bad money and feel good money This is this makes you feel so good when you realize how much you're saving when you're planning a trip getting tickets
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: Seating at one of these restaurants, it just felt so good to be like, oh, I got away with a little something and I want that feeling for all of you again now that I've said it out loud I probably will be contacting And the announcement travel about booking a September trip simply because oh my god for like I could bring someone to the park It doesn't have a pass for under $400 and we can have an entire week of fun
- 34:47[SPEAKER_00]: So again, when Disney has a discount, you've got to count!
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to count!
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to do one more, one more hot take before we go to break.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: And that is that we simply must be bringing back room service.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: We must be bringing back room service.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: Now that I have tasted room service after a theme park day, for the first time in a very long time, we need it back at Disney hotels.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: So much of my feed are people doing those nighttime routines in the Disney hotel room You know where they take all they accept all the shots it's like they come in and the clothes they boop in the door They close the door.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: They like get ready for bed They get in the love jammies.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: They like into the sheet not to do they not a comfort or boo in their Disney hotel They turn TV they're snuggly
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: I love those videos, but you know what make it so much better if they had a Mickey bar delivered to them if they were doing that Maybe I'm like a casual morning and getting Mickey waffles delivered to them Just give us the option to pay you a lot of money for food Disney.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: Just give us the option Give me the option to wait 45 to two hours 45 minutes or two hours just to get a Mickey waffle like
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: Please, please let me have room service back.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: Please, it is so special.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: They do what it Disneyland Hotel, they do to Disney's Grand Californian, but I was fact checking them on just stuff because post-COVID things are a little wonky and Grand Floridian appears to be the only proper Disney operated hotel that has room service.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: But even still, their breakfast starts at 7 a.m. which is madness.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't get a whole family to eat breakfast and get out the door for a rope drop.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: And if the only is the food will arrive and you know it's never going to arrive right 7 a.m. the only is because you can't remember an advance I assume because they don't have like towels as if the only a certain get it is a little after 7 not a chance not a chance apparently Grand Floridian and then Swan and dolphin which is or like the only kind of Disney area hotels that have room service and we need more of it.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_00]: We need more of it because every time I know someone fancy who stays at Grancal Farming and they post a cuteie little Instagram and they have their cuteie little Mickey Waffles delivered to the hotel room, I feel envy.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: I feel envy because wouldn't that be nice?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: Wouldn't that be nice?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: We need more of this Disney.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: The charge me a lot of money, I get it, but please!
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'll save the month, the money that I saved, eating it beer garden, Monday through Thursday, and told you, in the end of July, I will spend on waffles and send them to my room.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, a room coffee, whoop, a hot coffee in the room?
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, so lovely, and we used to have.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: We used to have all of this, and we don't anymore.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: I would say that Disney's Animal Kingdom, I got a Disney Animal Kingdom launch, and I got like banana bread delivered to my room.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we just want it back.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: We just want it back.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: Just give us room service back.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's all I ask.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: And a bunch of other stuff coming up after this break, but also a Mickey Waffle arriving to your door when you're getting ready, heaven.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: Heaven, I love, I love mobile ordering, but look what it's taken for us.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: A Mickey Waffle with a real fork in your room.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, bliss.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: We are talking about my my double dip Disney World trip.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, that's a fun way to put that.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, that sounds fun.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I went to Disney World twice in a month and I got a lot of things to tell you.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: And this is something I have been saying, but I mean, we really got included.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_00]: We really got included because now I can double down on it.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Do these time studios is good now?
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know, I just stood here just a few days ago on the bike, saying it was basically a trash pit.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: But now it's like weirdly a great park for toddlers.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: I had a day free where I couldn't about curling an extra ticket.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: I know we had the 40 ticket.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like I could have bought our extra ticket.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: We would have had we spent the day in the park.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: I would have had an excuse too.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: We chose to go to Hollywood Studios.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: We chose to go to Hollywood Studios, because Hollywood Studios is now a friend to toddler's question mark, question mark, question mark, question mark, how did we get here?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: And let me tell you, I have a toddler who started the day by saying, I don't want to meet characters.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, cool, cool, cool, cool.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to Hollywood Studios where there's essentially neary a ride for you.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like none of these rides are for you.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: You can't go on.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: You can go on Toy StoryMania, but we're not doing that.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know how.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing to do there except like sit and watch or meet a character.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: And my girls don't like to sit and watch and yet we had an incredible day.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: We met rules of characters because all of the characters milling about the animation corner in area.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now the Walt Disney Studios area, but that's confusing and you're saying a lot of that picture because you think I'm talking about the actual studio lot.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: They were just characters everywhere.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_00]: She went from starting the day saying, I don't want to meet a character.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: To about five hours later, pointing at a child with an autograph book and saying,
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: We bought her an autograph book, and she got her first autograph.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: In the same day, she said absolutely not, and yes, please to the most extreme level possible.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: We were of your mean, a freakin' super kitty?
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know what that is, but there was a bubble machine and we were dancing in the bubbles, and then all of a sudden, we were in the line, and she was running up to a cat and hugging them.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: that is how magical Hollywood Studios is right now it is just an explosion of characters it's the closest I felt to being a Disney land on one of those days where you just see everyone it was the closest I felt to that in a long time we met Daisy we met whoever that cat is we got in line to meet Olaf because there was nobody in line there was nobody in line
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: We hung out in animation courtyard.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: We saw goofy, pluto, uh, Mulan.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: We also saw, I think it was goofy or Donald.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: Take part in like a very Disney's boardwalk style, like entertainment outside show.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was like limboing or something.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't paying a lot of attention.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was very hot out.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_00]: I was not focused.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: but there was just like, it was just an explosion of characters everywhere we went and it really made the park feel so alive.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't go in a single ride and I absolutely think we got so much out of that park that day.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: We did it all, had some snacks, we went to go see the Frozen Show, the Frozen
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: Lovely, there was apparently an earthquake during it, didn't notice like literally an earthquake during the minute that they were singing Let It Go with the end and it's like, fake sewing.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like, wild.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: He was just a wonderful, wonderful day.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: Disney's Hollywood Studios is good now and it's only going to get better because once they reopen the former Star Wars launchbait, there's just going to be so much more to do and it's going to be so excellent.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: And like, to have, again, I don't, we're not gonna go too toddler-centric on this episode, but to be there with a child where it's like impossible to schedule anything for them.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, well, they fall asleep.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they just conquer the middle of the day.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: I have no idea.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_00]: Being there and having no plans and just playing it by ear and chilling and enjoying our life was so freeing.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the one thing I am gonna say.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: Which kind of actually puts me in a pickle because I am going to be, I told you this, I'm going to be writing a story about how Hollywood Studios is a friend to toddlers, which I went back to be like, is this true?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_00]: It is a fantastic part for children right now.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: It is basically like just going, it's just like a character, again, a character solution, it's the same.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: But part of the reason I was like, oh, they're fantastic is because they moved the baby care center over to animation courtyard, which means
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: within like two steps you can go to shows you can meet characters you can do all this stuff that's kid friendly all right there so i walk into the baby care center being like i love it here and i say hi where's your toddler potty and the look i get from the perplexed perplexed cast member is one of confusion and shock and they go um
- 42:09[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 42:10[SPEAKER_00]: And another parent who has multiple kids who like, isn't if you run into a parent, but specifically a mom, it's usually a mom.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_00]: You're into a mom who has children of multiple ages, they will answer any question you have.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_00]: There is nobody on this Earth, on our planet Earth, who knows more about how to navigate a situation than a parent of minimum two children.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you have three children,
- 42:31[SPEAKER_00]: You're an expert.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you have four, you're like way too busy to talk to me and I wouldn't want to take any of your time But if you have a few kids a small gag of kids, you know everything and so of course a mom of multiple kids was like There's no toddler potty in that bathroom There was like this for there's this there's no toddler potty and I was like of course like this mom knew and I was like How is there no ton of potty here and they were like I don't know there's the toddler potty at the baby care center Disney land also like
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: What you guys you guys this is a separate hot take.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: This is maybe like we're going to have to do 18 and a half Again, I'm sorry to anyone who doesn't have to deal with this skip ahead 15 seconds, but it is unfathomable that we are at a family friendly theme park and there's an entire theme park with not a
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: Toilet that a child can fit on.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry that doesn't make sense.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: That needs to change.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: Period the end.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: But besides that, does he tell you what studios?
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: I've enjoyed my time there.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: I've chosen to go back and spend time there.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: I never thought I would say that and they have made it absolutely wonderful.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the character situations in animation courtyard I anticipate will change once a lot of those characters are inside when they reopen the indoor space, but until then, it is thriving.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: It is bumping with characters and you can get so much out of your day just by hanging out in that space.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: Another hot take that I want to talk to you guys about.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, sometimes it's worth it to be a psychopath.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it's worth it to be absolutely un-
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because by husband who you know is the calm one in the family he is not obviously not obsessed with the stuff the way that I am he was like we're just going to chill it's going to be chill we're going to have fun it's going to be laid back you don't have to worry about anything it's just going to be a good time and I was like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah totally totally totally totally meanwhile had an entire schedule.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_00]: Because when you have a full day at somewhere like Magic Kingdom, that's multiple booking windows.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, aren't Magic Kingdom Day.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_00]: I have to in advance figure out what time that we would need to do Harmony Barber Shop where we can wake up, having adjusted for like East Coast West Coast timing, further on than the trip we can maybe wake up a little earlier so we're gonna have to
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Get a minivan to magic kingdoms that were able to make it in time so we can get to the appointment.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: I got a 10 a.m. appointment so it's built the day around that.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: We can probably get to Cinderella's Royal Table within an hour, but if the haircut goes battling, she's a meltdown, we have to wait a little longer and maybe we're delayed and maybe she wants to walk around after we don't want to go right from activity to activity because that'll be too intense.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll do 11, 20 Cinderella's Royal Table so we have a little time to move around if we want to say maybe squeeze a ride in and then
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: If we're booking lightning lanes, we should not book one between the hair cut and lunch.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's too much!
- 45:02[SPEAKER_00]: So we should book all of them in the afternoon, which does put us into disinvantages, but as long as we can book Peter, pants, flight, and small worlds, we're pretty good because those are the main things we wanted to do, and I will schedule those immediately after lunch, so that even it expires Walmart and lunch because lunch will probably run long.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Then we can just go, we'll scan into small worlds, and it'll still last a little bit after the time that you're allowed to go, and even though they say it's expired, it's not expired, you can still use it, so we'll do that, we'll go on Peter, and we'll go on small worlds.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: Then we'll people wait and go on a rollercoaster and we'll take around other things.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: that is what it takes to get eight Disney Day done.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, well my husband was like take it easy, take a chill, totally fine.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_00]: You can only really have chill fine on a day like that when you have schedule and you really want to hit certain things if you do the planning.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of feels like when an actor becomes famous and it's like, well they've actually been steadily working for 20 years.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: That is what a well planned day yields because we had magic kingdom one day there.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_00]: one day there.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: And it worked out great.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I kind of freaked out at nine in the morning, because I knew if we did not call a minivan by 9.05 a.m. a minivan can take up to 20 something minutes to arrive.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I knew that if we didn't call it by 9.05 a.m., then
- 46:08[SPEAKER_00]: Even if it took 20 minutes to get there by the time we get in, we get locked in load, we get dropped in Magic Kingdom, we get everything out, we get through security, we get through the main gate, we couldn't be late for this haircut.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: It was cutting it too close.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I was a psychopath from about 845 till 910 a.m.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: I was not nice that day, but you know what?
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: I set this up for success because the Domino's broke our way.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: They all fell our way and this thing can happen it Disney when you are planning.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_00]: I keep kind of leaning it to Plinco.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's like things can Plinco, you know, like the, you know, like the game, like, you know, Plinco.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Plinco.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, does anyone young listen to this not a Plinco?
- 46:41[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway,
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: When I like mung mung mung mung mung like like if things break in a wrong way your day can be bad but if things break the right way it is bliss and you set up for success and you try to do everything you can to make sure the day breaks the right way and that day broke the right way we got it all done in one day without trying too hard
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: We, we didn't even wake up early.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_00]: We left after 9 a.m. we left after 9 a.m. We did iconic furniture shop appointment.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: We had a full character meal.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: We did small worlds.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: We did Peter Pan.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't even use our really the Poo Lightning Lakers profile sleep.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: Then and I went on Tron.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: We went on Space Mountain.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: We got so much done.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then after my mom and I went on Carousel Progress.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: We did everything we wanted to do in Magic Kingdom.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_00]: Bing Bing Boom.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: No issue.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it's because
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: I am a psychopath and sometimes it's worth it to overplan because you can always peel away plants But you don't want to be standing in the middle of a magic kingdom being like it's our one day here There's a lot of stuff we want to do at this park.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: My kid wants me to princess I want to go on a roller coaster.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_00]: You guys want to go on small rolls and we can't get any of it done Sometimes it's nice to take it loose and free and easy like we did in Hollywood studios And for those big days you've got to be scheduling and it sometimes is worth it to be crazy about it But something I did learn on this trip that I never thought I would say out loud
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: I almost don't even want to say it all out now.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Park Hopping is bad.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Park Hopping is bad.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: If you only have a dare to with the parks, that's the only way you're gonna jam it all in, but maybe it's better to just do more in one of the parks, because we spent every night of this trip back at the hotel.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: Every single night.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we did go to the Noah Show, one of the nights more than I'm saying is if we didn't go to the theme park at night at all,
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: period.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_00]: And while it did make me a little, and see in the middle of the trip, it was someone restorative and nice.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_00]: Not having to be like, get out the door, second location, let's go, go, go.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: Now having to do that was blissful.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: Not having to like go from sweaty day to sweaty night was nice.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: We could just come back and like recalibrate and hang out and relax and then like be refreshed for our
- 48:44[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of nice!
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of nice as much as it pains me to say that.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe perk hopping isn't always worth it.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, maybe it's just nice to be like, today is our Epcot Day.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that four part ticket is what forced me to do this.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I weirdly kind of loved it.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: Then again, I'd expect to maybe because I really wanted to just go see Fantasmic one night and it was just not coming together and it didn't happen.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I bet if we did it, I would've been too strong out to go to the other but the rest of the trip.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe partying is not great.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's also more expensive.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_00]: And a short trip, it makes sense, but otherwise if you have time, maybe I don't need it.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I don't need it as much.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing, ooh, we're a flexion.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: And this isn't really a shocker to any of you.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: But after staying in two different hotels, after doing a lot of different transportation to these parks, I've never hated a Disney bus more.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: I've never hated a Disney bus more.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_00]: And this does differ from what I said earlier about loving non-bus transportation.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_00]: Similar vibe, but different.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's like fraternal twins.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_00]: I used to always like,
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: Look down on those non-Disney hotel buses.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'd see a coach bus coming in and be like, oh, those are the other hotels Like, oh, they're picking them up at like the reject lanes.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like they have the Disney bus lanes and they're like, oh, other hotels whatever Just pull up down there.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's always further.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's always like off to the side.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like the oh Just go over there.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like the real Disney hotel bus lanes and they used to be like, oh, I'm going in the Disney bus to my Disney hotel
- 50:09[SPEAKER_00]: but oh my gosh, a coach boss beats a Disney bus every single time.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I know some hotels that operate coach bosses to and from the parks, they make you tell them in advance that you are taking the bus.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, um, when I partnered with Caribe Royale,
- 50:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like I know their bosses to the parks you have to reserve like you have to tell them you will be on this bus there and this bus back For four seasons, we didn't have to do that.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: There was a schedule and advance that emailed it to me before I got there I had it on my phone so I could be in the park and be like, oh, we're not gonna make the 215, but I've ever make the 315 back So you know exactly when that bus is gonna be there gives you on both ends
- 50:45[SPEAKER_00]: at least 30 more minutes of your vacation because I know like they posted in your room whatever ah like no like you're like if you're even if you're checking the app like no like if you're saying it hotel no you're still panicking about it you're still panicking because the bus can come in and be waiting a long long long long long long time but like knowing the bus is we're so punctual they were like European trains they were boop on time and it was so good that I realized oh I don't hate a bus necessarily I hate it
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: Disney bus.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: And the coach bus set up for having a child with you was so extraordinary because carrying a stroller onto a bus should be illegal.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: It takes up too much space so that other people can't sit.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're trying to like hold this big object to make sure it doesn't fall on people.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_00]: They pack the buses with standing room because that's their design like city buses, which is like not good for anyone.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: You shouldn't be like holding onto a bus and in like the
- 51:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_00]: Coach Bus is comfy.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: Air conditioned.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: Lovely.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: It has made me look at third party Disney hotels in a completely different way to the point where I'm like, oh yeah, I may want to say somewhere that I didn't consider before simply because they have this easy breezy bus get up to get to the parks.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: It was so much better.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_00]: And like, just knowing when the bus was going to come, just knowing when the bus was going to come was so good.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: And this ties into my next point.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: which is that I am bad at everything, but brilliant at Disney World.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: I have extreme time blindness.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_00]: I did not wear my apple watch today.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know where I was all day.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_00]: It could be three hours later than I think it is right now when I would never know.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_00]: I just have no grasp on time.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's an ADHD thing.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's how my brain works.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_00]: However,
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: I excel at time management at Disney World to the point where I looked at the bus schedule, okay?
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: I looked at the bus schedule and I knew when the bus was going to be there.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_00]: I knew how long it takes, how long it takes to do things.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: I know in my bones how quickly I can walk.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_00]: And we were literally entering guardians with our lightning lane single pass, entering guardians, and I said to my mom, we will be out in exactly this many minutes.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: I need you to be at the exit waiting for us because we are going to have to walk quickly to get to the bus in time.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_00]: I was so good in my timing that I, in the first, like, you know, not the pre show, but like the room you wait in before you go into the Terry cruise room, like, in that room, I looked at Ben and I said, we will be out of this line, I'm going to say 350 to and I would have been like literally, we are not even in a pre show and I just knew I looked at it and was like,
- 53:17[SPEAKER_00]: We have to, like, I, we were on the right.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_00]: And three, four, eight.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_00]: And we got held in the station for a while, because I think someone puked the exit.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think someone puked at the unloved station.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_00]: We were held in the station for a uncomfortable amount of time.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_00]: We literally were in the seat, front row, ready to go, being like, oh, this might not happen.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, this plane may not take off.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: And like none of the people working on the ride would look at us, which was we were like, oh, no, that's a bad sign when the flight attendants won't look at you.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's a bad sign Sitting there waiting waiting waiting and we did eventually go which oh, thank goodness we waited and planned and plotted and did everything together And we couldn't go what have been so sad But we were there and so like we ended up pulling in at like 356 or seven because we waited so long, but I would have been correct I would have been absolutely correct and what was so great to tie it back to buses is that I knew like we were cutting and really close from when we had to be back
- 54:05[SPEAKER_00]: but I knew because of the schedule because it was organized because I had it.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: I knew like, if we walk as fast as possible, we can get there in time to get on the bus.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: We got there, the bus was there three minutes later, left almost immediately and we were back so quickly.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_00]: So again, I don't hate a bus.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_00]: I've never hated a Disney bus more.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm also really good at Disney timing.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you saw the video from what I went to, at Cot for 35 minutes,
- 54:29[SPEAKER_00]: I got so much done so quickly because I just, my brain works in that environment.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: I again, we walked into the park and I was like, okay, we have to leave it exactly.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: This time to be able to call a car to be able to get back at this time.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, we have to be back by one o'clock.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_00]: We were back at one o' one.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: We were back at one o' one.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I just knew it in my bones in advance and it was exactly how long it was going to take.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't check a Google map, no, no, no, no, no.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_00]: I just knew what my bones.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm bad at everything, but I'm brilliant at Disney World.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of, this is a little bit of a weird hot take, but we're going to go within any way.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_00]: The best way to enter app caught is via Uber to beach club, period, period.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_00]: The best, most efficient way to enter beach club, get dropped in beach club.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_00]: You can get dropped in boardwalk, but it's always a little chaotic there, and the fact you have to go like in and then down, and they have to take the right, I don't know.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the same vibe.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: I want to go to beach club.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: I want to cut through that small lobby.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: I want to take a left.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see the view on my right.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: See, everything, see the whole boardwalk, see the beach and go,
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, baby, I'm home.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: Then I want to do, do, do, do, do, do, do, walk past the skyliner and go right in the park.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: It is the best way to enter period.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: And they may give you a hard time in the morning, because they know what's up.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: But when I've gone like mid-morning, I've been like, no, no, no, no, here for beaches and creams.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: But we went mid-day and there was no issue.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: It was no issue.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: We were fine and it was so easy to get in and out.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_00]: Related.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_00]: The best way to get to Magic Kingdom is minivan, minivan dropping you off at that first spot on the bus loop.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_00]: Heaven.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_00]: It is, as you know, from my other trip, it is the only reason we got to see Starlight Parade.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: Is the only reason we got to see it.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: I almost said Starlight's starbreak.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: Starlight's starlight.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_00]: Starlight.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: Anything with a star in it.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: You guys know this from whatever.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then let's see how we can get the Game of Thrones coaster.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, anything with the start, it starts all start like, I, my brain cannot remember it.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_00]: Bring it on, remember it, but yeah, the best way to get to magic kingdom is many van or a monorail or boat, boat depending, boat from clan, from Gran Floreny and nice, both from wilderness kind of a long ride.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_00]: You sometimes stop in the contemporary, it's a lot, but monorail from like Gran Floreny, ooh, ooh, that's nice.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_00]: Just a little bit of monorail, mmm, I didn't get on them, I didn't really monorail this trip and I kind of miss it.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of miss it.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: I did last year, we got a lot of Monterail in, but I missed it.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, not into a big ferry boat.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_00]: I took it once when it was like winter outside my parents were like, why are you doing this?
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, maybe I like the ferry, I don't like the ferry.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: The best way to get to Disney's animal kingdom is not minivan.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: I can tell you that.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot that minivan's drive through the bus loop, and it is stick so long to get into that area way longer.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think that actually going through the regular parking lot, even though there is a war.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: I've turned into the parking lot.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_00]: But the best way to get to DAC is not minivan.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'd say anything else.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_00]: Anything else is pretty good to get to DAC.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like it takes so much longer.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_00]: Going five miles an hour feels so much lower in a car.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: And for Disney's Hollywood Studios, Uber or Skyliner, that's the best way to go.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I just feel it in my bones.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_00]: But as much as all of this is true, nothing beats nothing beats parking a car and one of these parks about like 90 minutes before it closes.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_00]: Pullin' in, they're usually not, at the end of the day, they're not even charging.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: And even though I get free parking, it is nice to just go, yeah, whoo!
- 57:39[SPEAKER_00]: And just like Mario Kart your way through.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_00]: Then, most people have left, so there's a bunch of free spots.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're not being directed into the last row.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_00]: You are in control of your own destiny.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_00]: You can choose where you park most of the time.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just nice to roll in.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's nighttime, you get a good spot.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's not as hot out moon your in.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing beats parking somewhere.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: between an hour and two hours for the close.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: And speaking of minivan, not a hot take, just something I feel, feel good money and feel bad money may have been the smartest thing I've ever articulated in my life because it comes up almost daily in my conversations and I'm curious it is the same for you because there is something about Disney, then when you spend money, it either feels good or feels bad.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_00]: Now if you haven't listened to older episodes,
- 58:28[SPEAKER_00]: Getting a $8, I think it was maybe $9.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_00]: It was so expensive.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_00]: Was it $10?
- 58:33[SPEAKER_00]: Might have been $10.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_00]: I got a very expensive latte at Cake Big Shop, but I savered it and I enjoyed it so much and it felt like such a special indulgence and a really, really fun treat.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 58:45[SPEAKER_00]: That is basically the same amount of money that I would spend on a Mickey pretzel, which would just be something that we would eat because we're hungry and you need to get food in our body.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_00]: Feel like I would buy that Mickey pretzel and feel like this is so overpriced and so annoyed.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when this was 625, I would be bitter about it.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's feel bad money, but the same amount of money, same amount of money can give me so much joy, feel good money, and I'm always trying to chase feel good money wherever I can go.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, we needed a car seat.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_00]: We had a tight window to go to Animal Kingdom.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_00]: The bus schedule, we didn't make it down for the bus there.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't make it out in time for the bus back.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was a whole mess.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_00]: We made many van's both ways.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_00]: Animal Kingdom, raw hearts on the Animal Kingdom, and I'm looking to back.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was, I don't even want to tell you this, but it was then was like, we're just doing it, just deal with it, just move on.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: It feels extreme, feel bad money.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was, I don't even want to tell you!
- 59:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, don't judge me.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_00]: He made the decision.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, start running.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna catch the hotel bus.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, I'm not running.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_00]: I will pay.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_00]: I will do the minivan.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: He was $60 each way.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hotel the animal kingdom.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: Animal kingdom and back.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_00]: We spent more on minivans to inform animal kingdom than we did on like a single day of admission for him to animal kingdom.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing feels that bad, okay?
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing feels that bad.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why it was so much money.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: It must be the distance because we were basically in Magic Kingdom area.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_00]: When we took one from our hotel to Magic Kingdom, which is I knew that was the only way we were going to get there in time.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_00]: The Four Seasons Hotel Bus, which I'm inferring that everyone knows but they don't.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_00]: When you have a third party hotel bus, the only buses that can pull up two Magic Kingdom are Disney's buses and many events.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you are taking a third party bus in Uber, anything else, you go to the ticket and transportation center and then you have to ferry or monorail your way in.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_00]: We simply did not have time for that one morning.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_00]: I knew that was an expense that I had planned for.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_00]: We were going to take a minivan the morning to go like the big morning of the haircut, the Cinderella's Rose Rose table, we were going to take a minivan.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_00]: That one was $42.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_00]: That is them now and there's an amount of comfortable spending for a one-time drop-off for a very big special day at the Magic Kingdom to make sure that none of us are waking up and upset that we're up early.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_00]: That was an expense that I thought was worth it.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_00]: $60 to go to Frick and Animal Kingdom to just fart around.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely not.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely not.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_00]: Feel good money and feel by money is the best way to ever explain what any of this feels like because many vans are so helpful especially if you need a car seat.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_00]: If I was a regular person, I would be taking me cheapest, lift, possible.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_00]: Anything under $10 and I've tip and a lot and we're good to go.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_00]: But we need that car seat and it's just so tricky and like I just don't get it you guys.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: So like on one hand, many vans saved both of our trips.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_00]: There's a video I'm going to post, which I'm scared to post because I don't want people to yell at me and say that I'm an actress, but like the key to going into this year old with the toddler is to spend money on many events because you need to go you're you're not going to be on a schedule you're listen you're on their watch, okay, you're on their time you're doing whatever they want to do and the only way to get somewhere if you can't go by bus and you don't have time to waste is a mini van because they can pick you up and take you all cross property and they have car seats.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's just easier.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: And like, you're always in a pickle when you need a car seat in your own car and there aren't buses available.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_00]: But why does a mini-man two in from the airport cost $249?
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I appreciate a mini-man because of the car seat of it all because it's easy, but why would that cost $249?
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's feel bad money.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_00]: You can get a suburban with car seats for, whew!
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh boy, unless you need a gigantic van for way less than that.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_00]: I really need to do like an airport transit guide with all the companies I've used and not just to rag on mirrors for taking two GD hours to get us from door to door, but like feel good money, feel bad money is the best way to explain this.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm a mini van has saved me many times, but that was in.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, that's $60 a trip, and kind of room to forever for me, and room to forever for me.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't know if you can hear my child screaming in the background, I hope not.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: But I do want to get into a few kids things real quick, which listen, beloved child free listeners do not leave me yet.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: I promise there's still worth to this podcast, I'm just going to go real quick.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's some kids stuff, there's one for you at the end.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry about it.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_00]: But two quick things.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_00]: It is so true what they say that you never take the same, never take a kid on the same.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_00]: No, never, they say it and I can't.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: You never take the same kid on the same trip twice.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_00]: Am I seeing one more intimate?
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_00]: You never take?
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: the same kid to Disney World twice.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the best.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm trying to say.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_00]: Why can't I get a word out?
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, you never take a kid on the same trip twice and you ever take the same kid on a trip twice.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_00]: You never take the same kid on a trip to Disney World.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna short circuit.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like a broken record.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm trying to say.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: I took my child twice within four weeks and it was a completely different child.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was a completely different child in every single way possible.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: Before she simply would not nap this trip,
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: fallen asleep in the stroller.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: Before, strung out desperate to watch TV, like, didn't want to be in the parks.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_00]: This trip so content in the park wanted to do everything.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_00]: That trip could not get her on a ride.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_00]: I could not get her on frozen ever after.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, girl, this is your jam.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: This is your jam.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: You love this.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: I had her walk me all had lightning links.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like the reason I took her on that work trip is because I was like, we're going to have lightning links for some stuff because I'm going to have access to it because I have to see it for work.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, come in the lightning link with me.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't want to go on, it's fine.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: Just like, come up and say bye to me as I leave.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_00]: Thinking she'd be like, bye-bye.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, I want to come.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_00]: I want to come.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't come on.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_00]: Said goodbye to me and then I was like, bye and walked away.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_00]: This time, got her on every ride.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_00]: This was a different child from the other trip.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, both trips were completely different.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_00]: Her priorities were different.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_00]: her interests were different.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_00]: Last time she did not want to go in the pool this time.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_00]: She wanted to go in the pool.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like we literally started out with her being like, at home, me like, I do not want to go on the frozen ride.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_00]: Every day it would be like, don't make me go on it.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, okay, I'm not going to make you go on it.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_00]: Dad wants to go with you, but I won't make you go on it.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_00]: This time, not even an issue.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't know.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_00]: But it is so true that you never take the same kid on the same trip twice or whatever they say because I can't remember the words.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: It is very, very true.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing, and again, again, if you don't have a kid keep listening, I got one more for you.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_00]: No more for you, the head.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I know you're probably not counting, but this is only number 17.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_00]: The more organized the stroller, the happier the parent.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_00]: Period.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like bending down and digging for stuff.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like going, huh?
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm gonna go, I don't want to do that.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_00]: I want my co-polder with my coffee, I want my sore candies, my water in it, I want everything accessible.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_00]: I want to know where all the heat stuff is.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_00]: On the side, I got sunscreen, like everything is bum bum bum bum bum, right there than I need.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_00]: And if I need anything else, like it's raining, I'm going to bend down.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, I'm not bending down and having the stroller locked in brought me so much joy.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_00]: Having the stroller packed ready to go to bypass security, I'm, again, I've been here half the month.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_00]: I know how to get through security.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_00]: with your stroller.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_00]: You got to put your big bulky stuff in the side sling or in the stroller caddy.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_00]: You got to put in your fans, your umbrellas, your sunglasses, the things that set off security, I did not get pulled aside by security.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_00]: One time this week, one single time never, never got pulled aside and that is a huge accomplishment for me because I packed so much stuff and I just knew how to do it.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_00]: Mesh pocket, all the bottles, all the stuff like the neck fans, the things like
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: went through, being being boom, they hand-inspected the stroller, everything was great, boom, the more organized the stroller, the happier I am.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_00]: And last but not least, this is a revelation, okay?
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is something I never thought I would say.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little scared to say it, but my mom is always right.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_00]: My mom is always right, my mom is always right because I'm gonna say it.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna declare it.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_00]: Maple popcorn in Canada is better than caramel popcorn from Germany.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I know I am lighter diverse and I still am.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_00]: But I gotta tell ya, the maple popcorn in the Canada pavilion at Disney's Epcot theme park will blow your mind.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_00]: We had.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_00]: So like,
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_00]: I had a twice and a twice a week, both times excellent.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_00]: I also had caramel corn.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_00]: I did not eat the caramel corn.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_00]: I did not eat, I had a few bites.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_00]: I threw the rest out because at the end of the trip, I just wanted to eat the maple popcorn.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what they're putting in it to make it so sticky.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is maple, but I know they're not just like dumping maple syrup on popcorn.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how scientifically they're getting it to be that sugary coating and not like so, it's not wet, it's not wet, whatever it is.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what they're doing.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have to do it when it is good.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_00]: And on my birthday, when we went to Epcot for 35 minutes, because I meant to leave, I just needed.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_00]: I needed a taste, I literally needed a taste.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_00]: My mom got popcorn for us.
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_00]: And she was like, oh, I'd love, like, I'd love the fresh batch.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'd love it to be hot.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_00]: It was, so it was boiling hot, we could barely hold it.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_00]: This is a good thing.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was boiling hot, and then when we ate it, there were like strings.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_00]: Then with these like strings of a crystallized maple, and it was so, it was one of the most delicious things I've ever had in Disney Park, and it just delivered.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_00]: It delivered.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_00]: And if you have not had the maple popcorn, I'm not really going to talk about the caramel one anymore because I actually think that maple is better.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_00]: my mom is right.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_00]: It is better and you can get it as a refill in a bucket.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_00]: So like you're saving money and you're having a better time.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_00]: That and there's a job freeze in your buy.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, Epcot is basically the so many job freeze.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many job freeze.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I walked in international gateway and then I saw the left.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's job freeze and then I kept walking and got me able popcorn.
- 1:08:12[SPEAKER_00]: And they kept walking to Mexico.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_00]: There was another jobries.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like I was drinking a jobries being like should I get another jobries?
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like the Spider-Man meme or they're all pointing at each other?
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_00]: Chopries everywhere.
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I love to live my life.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_00]: But the maple popcorn...
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_00]: Better than the caramel.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_00]: She was right.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_00]: She was right.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, those are all my hot takes of my trip from spending half a month at Disney World.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait to do it again.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, going back to look at September dates because those $400 tickets, like anyone who hasn't been and wants to go, ya got stuff, ya got stuff.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for listening to me and any questions about my trip about the hotel.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_00]: I have way more to share about the hotel, but we will get into it probably more on social media.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_00]: Um, let me know.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_00]: I just love Disney World.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_00]: I love this podcast.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_00]: I love all of you.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, bye.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_02]: I currently my name is Shelby.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm calling from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_02]: My family is about to go to Shanghai Disneyland.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's about three weeks here.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe two and a half.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I just sent two questions.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_02]: The first one is we have a one family member who's plus size and would really like to write tron.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm wondering if they have that same accessible back row that they have at the Disney World tron because I think that would make it a lot easier for her.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_02]: My second question is, is there anything a little tip-trick thing to see or do that wouldn't be obvious that we shouldn't miss out on?
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_02]: We have the eight, I think eight attractions, fast pass or whatever they call it, for the first day we're there, and then the second day we're just going to fly by the scene of our pants.
- 1:09:58[SPEAKER_02]: So if there's anything we need to see or do,
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Please let me know.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_02]: I love this show.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks so much.
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_02]: Bye.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, thank you so much for calling.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I got to say, hearing your Canadian accent live and well was thrilling, was thrilling.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_00]: Me here in America being like, Oh, tell me more.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_00]: I just love Canada so much.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I love my Canadian lifters.
- 1:10:18[SPEAKER_00]: So hello to all of you.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I haven't been to Shanghai in a minute, but I'm still able to answer both of your questions.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm very, very excited to do so.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now for your first question about Tron, as you all know, well, not all of you, not everyone knows the intricacies of ride vehicles and magic kingdom, but Tron and Magic Kingdom does have more chair-style seating on trains in the back.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: They have like the motorbike style seats in the front, and then there are options to sit just like a regular.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_00]: share.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: In Shanghai, I remember they did have those.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_00]: I have this like very vivid memory of the Lopez twins being there for the opening and sitting in those because they were obviously two-tulps in the motorbike.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_00]: That was before we knew each other.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_00]: So wow, it really has been a long time.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like 10 years, right?
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's wild.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I double checked just to make sure that those are still there and they are.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_00]: They are on some select trains and I actually stumbled across a thread where someone was wondering the same thing.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_00]: And they were advised by people in the comments to show the the right operators a photo of that chair seat.
- 1:11:19[SPEAKER_00]: So if you like, look online for, you know, basically like Tron regular seat, standard seat.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Not the motorbike seat.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_00]: You can find a photo like any photo of anyone in it and showing them at the front might be easier to communicate that you want to be using that chair and not the motorbike vehicle.
- 1:11:33[SPEAKER_00]: I would just say that on your phones, you have it and it's ready to go.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_00]: And you're good.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_00]: Second thing.
- 1:11:38[SPEAKER_00]: The fast past style like premier access stuff has changed since I was there.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I did double check to see what the premier access eight is.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm pretty sure from looking at this that.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_00]: You have purchased priority access to Buzz Lightyear, Tron, Zutopia, roaring rapids.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I loved that one.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Soaring over the horizon, parts of the Caribbean, Peter Pan's flight, envoaged the Crystal Grotto.
- 1:12:01[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have a blast.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_00]: But the one thing I'm going to tell you to do is that you got to do the challenge trails that camp discovery.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm seeing that it is on a certain set of premiere access 6, so there is some sort of premiere access to it, which means the standby line will be longer, however, challenge trails a camp discovery is something that has not previously existed in any theme park, and I would bet never will again, I mean, it's Disney theme park, like never will.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_00]: For as long as we live it is so rad like you're truly doing one of those kind of zipline things We're like dr dr dr dr dr you know you have like the the rope and you're like Duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh like trying to get get through and walk around You're doing that, but like there's one path that leads you to the side of a waterfall Check out YouTube videos of it if any exist when I'm went you had to put all of your devices away But I'm sure with those like meta class is somebody has a video of it somewhere or someone's like where in a phone or a GoPro or something It is so cool
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_00]: It is just so cool and it's just so Shanghai because I just remember walking around being like never would be have this in Florida Never would this be an attraction they built in Florida and it's so it's so unique to the park and also so fun and like a little scary
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_00]: and exciting, and I just also really, really like being at a theme park in a foreign country and doing something that is very emotional, like the rapid ride, growing rapids, like one of my favorite memories from the Shanghai Disney opening is that I was sitting in a raft with a bunch of people who didn't speak the same language, and we were all screaming and laughing and giggling together in Unison.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_00]: and something I really like about the challenge trails is that you're scared and you're like you're scared to go and it's exciting and that's a universal language even though you are in a country very far from home.
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I love that so much.
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is really like the main thing I'm gonna highlight to you in the park.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I have not been to Zootopia yet but please check out the puppets for me.
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_00]: Tell them I say hi and I hope you have an absolute blast.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_00]: We
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure to check out all of the furniture in the Pirates area.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm blinking on the adventure aisle, I think it's what it's called, because my friend Rachel, who's been a guest who also do we have an episode all about Centopio, you should listen to that!
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_00]: All about the Centopio hot percentage action!
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to that episode, I'll put in the show notes for you.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_00]: Rachel did a lot of the furniture for that area, she's close friend and so I always like to be like paying tribute to her benches and things, but yeah, check that out.
- 1:14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, that's it.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_00]: And if they still have that mini mouse ice cream bar, it's like strawberry with white chocolate.
- 1:14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, don't miss out on that.
- 1:14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Don't miss out on that.
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_00]: Have so much fun.
- 1:14:30[SPEAKER_00]: And let me know if you do the challenge trails because honestly, like core memory, core memory, have a blast.
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's our show!
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you all so much for listening and wow, I really like having my voice back.
- 1:14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's nice!

- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you work with anyone else, I'll tell you what you don't have to do with that!
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to do that.
- 1:15:39[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to spend hours and hours and hours of your life making a freaking presentation to show your family to like, rope drop and eat at a restaurant.
- 1:15:46[SPEAKER_00]: It also some of her information was incorrect.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_00]: She said, talk to concierge and I think she's a Caribbean beach and I went, but you know what will help you out of that pickle?

- 1:17:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's like half of the low-end streaming service.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_00]: But 99 cents a month, they feel really good about.
- 1:17:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm posting almost every day, there's a lot of fun there, and it's just like a dollar, like I don't like taking money from people, like a dollar, a dollar, a dollar.
- 1:17:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's a door.
- 1:17:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's like adding a flavor shot to your coffee.
- 1:17:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's a dollar.
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I think the price is good.
- 1:17:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a good time.

- 1:17:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, I love having my voice back.
- 1:18:02[SPEAKER_01]: He is so funny, he is not a disappointment.
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_01]: I burst out laughing, that's so not true, but it was funny.
- 1:18:09[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe that he has not been in your very busy podcast until now.
- 1:18:13[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe that.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_01]: I had no idea that you write books and you write about things parks and animation expert co-hosts of like the fews.
- 1:18:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he started a mission impossible podcast, which became like the number one.
- 1:18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Why is he not talking about this?
- 1:18:27[SPEAKER_01]: W, you have to have a mind again.
- 1:18:29[SPEAKER_01]: He was so great.
- 1:18:30[SPEAKER_01]: You have to have a mind again.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_01]: That was so much fun.
- 1:18:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love you so much, Carly, and I love you so much, Perley.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll talk to you next week.
