- 2:55Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversation. My man Cafe Award, Cafe Moke Award.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Swagger was on a re Jeff Klanagan, what's up my brother?
- 3:03Speaker 1: How you done hey man man, Jeff jeffs is year
- 3:07Speaker 1: three as usual? You know, you keep you posted, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 1: left them The first year when we came on the
- 3:13Speaker 1: show was the twenty seventeen That's when laugh Out was
- 3:17Speaker 1: busting out, and also the you was about to launch
- 3:20Speaker 1: the the Kevin Hard uh Serious radio Show. All that
- 3:24Speaker 1: stuff was in this early stages. Give us an update
- 3:27Speaker 1: on where yet right now. I mean, we're in a
- 3:30Speaker 1: really good place and that's because of what's happening in
- 3:33Speaker 1: the industry. Um and you know, streaming is obviously you're
- 3:39Speaker 1: you're seeing a lot of press about you know, people
- 3:41Speaker 1: are hanging streaming because a couple of nineteen celery but
- 3:44Speaker 1: it was it was already on on an upward trend. Unbelievable. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: the past is like it's now like it's on fire
- 3:52Speaker 1: because the people are home and they're watching content. But
- 3:55Speaker 1: what's changed since the last time we talked, which has been,
- 3:58Speaker 1: which has been, which has been very a beneficial for
- 4:02Speaker 1: what I've been doing and for obviously for a lot
- 4:04Speaker 1: of other people looking at get into space, is that
- 4:07Speaker 1: when we talked last time, when we talked about streaming,
- 4:11Speaker 1: the notion was okay, you got Netflix. We know Disney
- 4:14Speaker 1: Plus is coming, we know HBO Max is coming, we
- 4:17Speaker 1: know who is coming. But those are all those are
- 4:20Speaker 1: all subscription streaming challenge. And what's happened is that with
- 4:24Speaker 1: the proliferation of the subscription challenge, meaning that I'm paying
- 4:28Speaker 1: ten dollars, I'm paying exactly, what happened a whole new
- 4:35Speaker 1: wave of a different model called a bar which is
- 4:38Speaker 1: advertising the video man which which merely means is like,
- 4:41Speaker 1: if you're watching it, you can watch it for free
- 4:43Speaker 1: with a commercial. So then you saw companies like if
- 4:46Speaker 1: you have a smart TV, you'll see you probably sell
- 4:48Speaker 1: all these acts on the TV pool, TV to Be
- 4:51Speaker 1: and in Roku and Amazon Fire, like what is all that?
- 4:55Speaker 1: They're basically the streaming platforms with audiences, but you don't
- 4:59Speaker 1: have to subscrip, right, And what ended up happening is
- 5:02Speaker 1: that Pluto, which is by by by Climb for like
- 5:06Speaker 1: four million dollars, and then two Be was just really
- 5:09Speaker 1: by box Kid. I started getting all these calls from
- 5:14Speaker 1: Pludo and to Be that like Leo in boundary, like, wait,
- 5:16Speaker 1: what's called on here? Because I learned my phone just
- 5:19Speaker 1: started blowing up the back phone looking for content, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: I just figured I figured out what I have to be.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You don't need a d you don't need to just
- 5:32Speaker 1: stop here right now. This is content King right here. Okay,
- 5:35Speaker 1: this is black King King, content king I'm talking to
- 5:39Speaker 1: right now. And Jeff Clinic, you know, way back before
- 5:42Speaker 1: anybody thought about recording black people to put them over
- 5:45Speaker 1: on vhs, DVDs and blue rays or whatever, you were
- 5:48Speaker 1: doing it. So you are content King. So a lots
- 5:52Speaker 1: of want everybody know who I'm talking to right now,
- 5:54Speaker 1: continue stories, Jeff. Sometimes I got to interjective remind people
- 5:57Speaker 1: who I'm talking to him. Wasn't this as you know,
- 6:02Speaker 1: you know, I was the person the game for what
- 6:04Speaker 1: I call directed so with VH okay, so this is
- 6:09Speaker 1: that all over again. But here's what. Here's what when
- 6:12Speaker 1: when I started talking with the inbounds came out pretty
- 6:15Speaker 1: figured it out. Like I said, where you have all
- 6:17Speaker 1: these people, these companies running all the data, but here's
- 6:19Speaker 1: people when it comes to our people, is okay, the
- 6:22Speaker 1: average household for black folks, right, you probably have your
- 6:27Speaker 1: Netflix descriptions and you probably and you probably have an
- 6:32Speaker 1: Apple itubes for Spotify cause you're gonna listen to your music, right,
- 6:36Speaker 1: So you got you got me too, then if you have,
- 6:40Speaker 1: if you got kids kind of want to jump in
- 6:43Speaker 1: and Disney Plus it is Disney Plus also cousin with ESPN,
- 6:46Speaker 1: And so now you've got Now you've got three subscriptions.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Let's say you've got maybe one two other descriptions. But
- 6:54Speaker 1: then after that when you turn on your TV, you're
- 6:57Speaker 1: looking for free conquest. Absolutely, if you keep being on four,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you're living a good life. You're living a good life.
- 7:03Speaker 1: You shouldn't listen to my show. I'm sure you like you,
- 7:08Speaker 1: You're like you, You're good. What happened is that these
- 7:12Speaker 1: all these three AVI platforms that are now coming embedded
- 7:16Speaker 1: into the smart TVs are blowing up. I mean I
- 7:20Speaker 1: can tell you like right now, like so we so
- 7:22Speaker 1: we just launched l will well you know what I'm doing.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I do it to TV, dude. I like the test
- 7:28Speaker 1: to see what's going on. So I'm rolling out by
- 7:29Speaker 1: the end of ill be on everybody. We launched on
- 7:31Speaker 1: Pluto first, because that was a big one. Like in
- 7:34Speaker 1: our first like I said yesterday, we had two point
- 7:39Speaker 1: seven monvilling minutes of people watching shows on the on
- 7:42Speaker 1: the on the channel um our first thirty days, like
- 7:46Speaker 1: we were over sixty one million UM views on the thing.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So people are people are watching. The number the numbers
- 7:57Speaker 1: are the numbers are crazy. But what it is is
- 7:59Speaker 1: that here's what the kids versus versus you're trying to
- 8:04Speaker 1: You started like a standalone channel and bring everybody to you.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I just said, Okay, I'm gonna go to where I
- 8:09Speaker 1: know people that I know. They're on Roku, I know
- 8:12Speaker 1: they're on Amazon, I know they're in Pludo. You know
- 8:15Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So you go to where there's an
- 8:16Speaker 1: audience that But what's happened on all these platforms is
- 8:20Speaker 1: that black content is over indexing versus versus mainstream content.
- 8:25Speaker 1: On all the pre papcorn black content is just overperformance
- 8:29Speaker 1: like like period. So that that just kind of tells
- 8:32Speaker 1: you where the market is. But at the end of
- 8:35Speaker 1: the days, when you buy these new smart TVs, people
- 8:37Speaker 1: are buy the TV. You can see these acts on
- 8:40Speaker 1: the TV and and and that's where we're at. And
- 8:43Speaker 1: that's that's that's what we're a that's it. That's all
- 8:49Speaker 1: you need. That's so that's that's exactly where it says.
- 8:52Speaker 1: So it's now obviously with COVID nineteen the numbers now
- 8:55Speaker 1: are just like it's really started. It's it's accelerating everything. Well,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, it's really interesting that because that's that is
- 9:02Speaker 1: the case. Like you said, everybody got their little i G.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Talk shows. Now if you go at nighttime, the six o'clock,
- 9:09Speaker 1: it's like about forty fIF on my feet. You know,
- 9:11Speaker 1: everybody got a little talk show. You know, everybody tried
- 9:14Speaker 1: to get Steven A. Smith. Hey man gets Steven Smith
- 9:16Speaker 1: to come on my show. I don't even have to
- 9:17Speaker 1: book him no more. He just he's just he's just
- 9:19Speaker 1: he's self booking himself now. And so because people won't
- 9:23Speaker 1: that content now. But the beauty of it is that
- 9:25Speaker 1: this is what I like about it, is that you're
- 9:27Speaker 1: educating people to this form, this platform. And so because
- 9:31Speaker 1: once people when we're gonna get back to normal, well
- 9:33Speaker 1: this summer, people start going back to work, games to
- 9:36Speaker 1: start being played may not have fans, but there will
- 9:38Speaker 1: be games played this and so that means that these
- 9:41Speaker 1: athletes and these famous people who have all these at
- 9:44Speaker 1: night podcast at night i G. Platform, they're gonna go away.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Guess who gonna be left l O L l O
- 9:52Speaker 1: L left there wait knowing you come over here because
- 9:55Speaker 1: we're here every day, and and that I always love
- 9:58Speaker 1: talking to you because you have never been a person
- 10:01Speaker 1: to be stymied by the direction that you were going
- 10:04Speaker 1: to go, and seeing an opportunity to go over there,
- 10:07Speaker 1: you're quick to pivot. Why what? What? What? What makes
- 10:11Speaker 1: that work for you? Like that? You just are you're
- 10:12Speaker 1: a forecaster or you you have to say visionary in
- 10:15Speaker 1: some aspect, but you're not not afraid to pivot away
- 10:18Speaker 1: from the original plan. Well, I think you know, here's
- 10:21Speaker 1: the thing. What I find in an entertainment My background
- 10:27Speaker 1: is I have a business. Dogmen, I got an entertainment. Now,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I got an entertainment and learned business. So for me,
- 10:35Speaker 1: there's a bus the mindset. So I'm not attacked to
- 10:39Speaker 1: any one thing. If I'm doing this and you gotta go,
- 10:44Speaker 1: you gotta go from May to be at that, it
- 10:46Speaker 1: doesn't bother me. Where A lot of people will I
- 10:48Speaker 1: find out I gotta you know, even a lot of
- 10:50Speaker 1: business people. They get stuck in a box and if
- 10:53Speaker 1: you if it goes outside of the box, they have
- 10:56Speaker 1: trouble adjusting. I'm not like I'm gonna I'm gonna always
- 11:00Speaker 1: adjust to the business. But what happens is that with
- 11:05Speaker 1: you know, with technology and social media. Here's what people
- 11:07Speaker 1: are understand is that the consumer is going to drive
- 11:11Speaker 1: your business model. If they want to listen to rad Up,
- 11:13Speaker 1: they will listen. You have to go to what the
- 11:15Speaker 1: consumer saying. You can no longer push your business model
- 11:19Speaker 1: on the consumer because the consumer is going to tell
- 11:22Speaker 1: you how they want to consume content or or how
- 11:25Speaker 1: they want to even be entertained. And you have to
- 11:27Speaker 1: be able to be flexible and just. And you can't
- 11:29Speaker 1: be so caught up because you spent nine months putting
- 11:33Speaker 1: together a business plan and all of a sudden the
- 11:35Speaker 1: business change. You can't get so caught up. And then
- 11:37Speaker 1: you gotta be able to you gotta be able to
- 11:39Speaker 1: deflect and the justice I mean, I mean, look the
- 11:42Speaker 1: first thing, the first thing I did when when we
- 11:44Speaker 1: were in a quarantine, I put three animated projects in
- 11:48Speaker 1: productive and like, okay, I can't do the protectives who
- 11:51Speaker 1: animators said at all? I did, absolutely, absolutely, and that's
- 11:56Speaker 1: why I love it. But no, you know it is
- 11:58Speaker 1: my main master p days. You have to be able
- 12:00Speaker 1: to pivot up there, you know, n w A days,
- 12:02Speaker 1: you know, straight out of competent day so that whole
- 12:05Speaker 1: world and then the fact that you are one of
- 12:08Speaker 1: the vision areas behind, you know, going to comedians, gonna look,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I can shoot your video, I can shoot your comedy special,
- 12:15Speaker 1: and we can sell these stories back when stores because
- 12:17Speaker 1: remember you had Steve Harvey. Now we should go to
- 12:19Speaker 1: like and do like, go to these different record stores
- 12:22Speaker 1: when they will open, and do signing dates for all
- 12:24Speaker 1: these DVDs and all these three ways they were dropping
- 12:28Speaker 1: and so then then they became streaming. And so when
- 12:30Speaker 1: you look at all this competition and all these things
- 12:33Speaker 1: that you have out there, it really it's really important
- 12:35Speaker 1: that when I hear you go, look, Rosa, I'm frustrated,
- 12:38Speaker 1: just like everybody else. I didn't see the pandemic coming,
- 12:40Speaker 1: just like everybody else. But what I couldn't do it
- 12:42Speaker 1: just says I don't go oh always me okay. I
- 12:45Speaker 1: got animators, animators got computers, they got WiFi. Let's get busy.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Let's get busy. It's just like my staff. We do
- 12:53Speaker 1: zoom zoom meetings at eight thirty in the morning, and
- 12:56Speaker 1: we do zoom meets at four o'clock in the afternoon.
- 12:58Speaker 1: We do daily function big cause I'm in the digital
- 13:00Speaker 1: im in the social media. I'm into a podcast. I'm
- 13:03Speaker 1: into like right now, I'm just gonna recording my show.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Somebody at their house is gonna chop this show up
- 13:09Speaker 1: and then it's gonna go into syndicational radio on my
- 13:12Speaker 1: thirty radio stations. And that's how it works. But you're
- 13:15Speaker 1: not allowing yourself to be frustrated by the process. And
- 13:18Speaker 1: I say this because it's always funny when you come
- 13:20Speaker 1: on my show, Jeff Clanning, because you are the you know,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you're running Kevin Hart Brand, Laugh out Loud, the Heartbeat Digital.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And this is the side of the business that is
- 13:31Speaker 1: equally as powerful and equally as possible as popular as
- 13:35Speaker 1: Kevin Hart himself. And that's why it's important that people
- 13:38Speaker 1: understand that that, you know, you gotta surround yourself with
- 13:42Speaker 1: people who understand the business, are not frustrated by it,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and also have a history of success. And that's you,
- 13:47Speaker 1: Jeff Clanican, that's you all as you all day long,
- 13:50Speaker 1: my friend, all day long. Well, when we come back,
- 13:55Speaker 1: when we're talking about we got to talk about the
- 13:57Speaker 1: new TV show. When you come back on Quimby, gotta
- 14:00Speaker 1: about that, you know that program about the young people
- 14:03Speaker 1: that you had last year and I told my hey, man,
- 14:05Speaker 1: we need to turn in the TV show. We will
- 14:06Speaker 1: talk about that when you come back. Be right back
- 14:08Speaker 1: with more money making conversation with man Jeff Clanic. Have
- 14:11Speaker 1: been knowing him a long time and guess what, He's
- 14:14Speaker 1: a visionary. More money making conversation in a minute. It's
- 14:18Speaker 1: finally here, the season of celebration, and no matter how
- 14:21Speaker 1: you celebrate with family and friends, whether you're preparing for
- 14:25Speaker 1: reys magos or Karamu lighting the Manura, are going to

- 16:13Speaker 1: t E. R. Dot Ai. Hi, this is money making conversation.
- 16:20Speaker 1: And you're listening to Rashan McDonald and you're also listening
- 16:23Speaker 1: to a good friend of mine. His name is Jeff Clanagan. Um.
- 16:26Speaker 1: You know we just talked earlier about pandemic. The pandemic
- 16:29Speaker 1: is affecting the way a lot of people are living
- 16:31Speaker 1: their lives. People could stay at home, and stay at
- 16:33Speaker 1: home has called shows like The Tiger King on Netflix
- 16:37Speaker 1: to become the emost watch documentary and the history of documentaries.
- 16:41Speaker 1: That means that streaming is there. So what also means
- 16:44Speaker 1: that you better have your content radio because you got
- 16:46Speaker 1: the audience out there that's ready to watch. So explain
- 16:49Speaker 1: to us. You know, when you realize that this was
- 16:52Speaker 1: not going to be a short term stay at home,
- 16:54Speaker 1: did it cause you to move some production schedules up
- 16:58Speaker 1: or we arrange your content and to pull out old
- 17:00Speaker 1: content because you know, because people are watching more, that
- 17:04Speaker 1: means that you have to refresh a lot quicker. Correct
- 17:07Speaker 1: that that is correct. I mean, that's why I think
- 17:10Speaker 1: I had to make a real quick suggesting like I had.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I had six productions that were about to go into production,
- 17:18Speaker 1: like big production, and three of them were starring Kevin.
- 17:22Speaker 1: So what I did like it was it was it
- 17:26Speaker 1: was like a quick pivot. But so what I did
- 17:28Speaker 1: is in my said so in my two thousand one plan,
- 17:34Speaker 1: I had planned the boom moving to animation like a
- 17:37Speaker 1: big way from animates. Right, so I just okay, you know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: we have to the production the whole I call it
- 17:42Speaker 1: the animated up who were sitting at home with the
- 17:44Speaker 1: computers and internet, and we've got I've got I've got
- 17:47Speaker 1: three series in production, meaning and getting animated right now
- 17:52Speaker 1: because I already had writings and stuff right now. So
- 17:54Speaker 1: I just fast track. I put everything and everything in
- 17:56Speaker 1: fast track and started to focus on the animation right now,
- 18:02Speaker 1: right right now. And so that that's the part of
- 18:04Speaker 1: the platform that's working now now when I go to
- 18:05Speaker 1: the platform, because I'm gonna pull it up right here.
- 18:08Speaker 1: You know, you got colds Balls well season three, Kevin
- 18:15Speaker 1: Hard of course, and then you have you know, the
- 18:17Speaker 1: Kevin Best, the fresh episodes, your favorite episodes, Kevin's favorites.
- 18:22Speaker 1: You know, it's just it's just a it's just a
- 18:24Speaker 1: comedy in its finance. And so so are you chopping
- 18:28Speaker 1: up the specials? Are you are? You are you front
- 18:31Speaker 1: loading news specials, Where are you coming back? Because you know,
- 18:35Speaker 1: when they did that death Comedy jam, specially on people
- 18:38Speaker 1: doing comedy from their home, I was like, yeah, that
- 18:41Speaker 1: would work for me. So because everything everything's been shut down,
- 18:44Speaker 1: your live events been shut down, so that you know,
- 18:47Speaker 1: doing the animated is great, but you know, the hardest
- 18:50Speaker 1: soul of what you do is tied to audience interaction
- 18:54Speaker 1: exactly now. The thing about it, but I don't know
- 18:56Speaker 1: if I haven't talked to you, but the ither think
- 18:59Speaker 1: I had back into you may not. You probably don't
- 19:02Speaker 1: know because I was playing above them, but I was
- 19:04Speaker 1: actually producing um Nick Canon Wild Now Tour, which we
- 19:09Speaker 1: had on the road. Yeah, we were playing and we
- 19:12Speaker 1: were knocking out ten ten eleven us down. Yeah, we
- 19:18Speaker 1: had to shut it down, But part of that is
- 19:20Speaker 1: we were going to shoot that as a special at
- 19:23Speaker 1: the end of the tour. That was the whole thing.
- 19:24Speaker 1: We had cameras going during the tour. UM and I
- 19:27Speaker 1: had some other life, so so obviously I had to
- 19:30Speaker 1: put a pin in that UM Interns the special that
- 19:34Speaker 1: was probably if I had to say, if anything to
- 19:36Speaker 1: hit my business. The hardest was that because I was
- 19:38Speaker 1: really going aggressively into the live business, with the Wild
- 19:43Speaker 1: Now Tour being the first one. UM and and so,
- 19:48Speaker 1: like you just admit to something. What's not working on
- 19:51Speaker 1: social digital is comedians trying to do stand up comedy
- 19:55Speaker 1: on I G and then musicians can do it and
- 19:57Speaker 1: they can sing, but trying to do stand about our
- 20:00Speaker 1: audience and just people try it. So it's just it's
- 20:04Speaker 1: not working at all. It's just not UM. So my
- 20:08Speaker 1: thing is, I've got attendant. I believe there's a window
- 20:15Speaker 1: in gonna be July, Augusteptember. I gotta go back and shoot.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But we don't know what's gonna happen in the fall.
- 20:20Speaker 1: The food is gonna come back in the winter. So
- 20:22Speaker 1: I when when we when we have this potential window,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna knockout a budget productions, UM, stand
- 20:29Speaker 1: up and everything and live stuff. In terms of touring stuff,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I think that's gonna be a two thousand one because
- 20:36Speaker 1: I just don't see it by fall. Letting you know,
- 20:40Speaker 1: ten dialand people back in unless the league. I think
- 20:44Speaker 1: the league, the NBA and the leagues are gonna take
- 20:46Speaker 1: the front and they're the ones who gonna have to
- 20:48Speaker 1: break the ground in terms. Okay, we can now go
- 20:51Speaker 1: to an arena, we can go to a stadium and
- 20:53Speaker 1: if if, if it's safe, then then I think you'll
- 20:55Speaker 1: see the live touring stuff open. Baga. But I still
- 20:58Speaker 1: think that's twenty one absolutely, especially when uh California said, hey,
- 21:03Speaker 1: we canceling everything, everything, concerts, football, error, everything has a
- 21:08Speaker 1: crowd and we cancel it. But I do believe I've
- 21:11Speaker 1: been an advocate of Jeff of saying, hey, we gotta
- 21:14Speaker 1: get back out there. We just gotta have the what
- 21:16Speaker 1: are the rules to be able to socialize? You know?
- 21:19Speaker 1: You know that's what That's what nobody's giving us right now.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And so when I look at the program and it's
- 21:23Speaker 1: being put out there and I've seen these stand ups online,
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna stand up. When I see him online trying
- 21:28Speaker 1: to do stand up at the house, I go, this
- 21:30Speaker 1: is not working. Who is tapping the folks from this
- 21:33Speaker 1: just can't work. This can't work. And when they did that,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you know, and it's a couple of people have called me,
- 21:38Speaker 1: you know, we're sure you used to do that. Hey, hey,
- 21:40Speaker 1: used to, used to used to and definitely like coming
- 21:43Speaker 1: on on on your Instagram fee trying to do stand
- 21:47Speaker 1: up with no crowd. Okay, So I don't need that
- 21:51Speaker 1: level of an embarrassment in my life. So but but
- 21:57Speaker 1: you do have some great productions that you have complete.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It's the die Hard with you know, Jonathan and Kevin.
- 22:04Speaker 1: That's well, y'all, I know what I'll do, a play
- 22:06Speaker 1: on this man's last name, Kevin Hard die Hard talk
- 22:09Speaker 1: to us about Ted and then ye y'all silly man,
- 22:14Speaker 1: y'all you you silly Kevin Hard, silly, just silly people
- 22:18Speaker 1: out there making a lot of money. Man. That's all. Well,
- 22:22Speaker 1: you know what's funny was about that is that we
- 22:25Speaker 1: did that with Quimby. Quimby is the new swinging platform
- 22:28Speaker 1: that just launched about a month ago for promobile devices
- 22:32Speaker 1: and it's it's killing movies. So basically basically shot in
- 22:36Speaker 1: eighty minute narrative movie in chapel. So there's there's ten
- 22:39Speaker 1: chat there's ten eight minute chapters. Um. The we finished
- 22:45Speaker 1: I think you sinised the right in February. UM with
- 22:48Speaker 1: the dynamic with Kevin and John was hilarious. That was
- 22:52Speaker 1: to say, probably one of his best UM performances, just
- 22:57Speaker 1: because the interact with John really raised level of the
- 23:00Speaker 1: acting and the performance but it's it's once again we're
- 23:03Speaker 1: experimented with new format with Quimby, which is the short
- 23:09Speaker 1: short form exactly it was. It was, it was a
- 23:12Speaker 1: great experience. It is a great we're actually working on
- 23:15Speaker 1: die Hard too right now it came out the world
- 23:17Speaker 1: or working on Dick Team. But now let's explaining about
- 23:21Speaker 1: what Quimby really does. Okay, it could be like ten
- 23:23Speaker 1: to fifteen minutes, and so that's what you said. Now,
- 23:25Speaker 1: are they like um Netflix where you can just binge
- 23:28Speaker 1: all the episodes or or they come out on a
- 23:31Speaker 1: daily basis or a weekly basis. Well, we'll see. That's
- 23:35Speaker 1: so what happened when they first started Um it was
- 23:39Speaker 1: they want to do it on a daily basis of
- 23:40Speaker 1: weeks versus bend. But I think the audience, you know,
- 23:43Speaker 1: they're looking at the audience metics and request. I think
- 23:46Speaker 1: that because I'm seeing some of the shows where they
- 23:48Speaker 1: put them all up as ben and so once again,
- 23:50Speaker 1: the audience, it's gonna drive how they're going to release
- 23:54Speaker 1: the episode. So they came out with a model, but
- 23:57Speaker 1: then they're getting the audience feedback on how they want
- 23:59Speaker 1: to see. That's so I do believe they're gonna put
- 24:01Speaker 1: stuff out from a bench at that point, because that's
- 24:04Speaker 1: that's what the idea and how they used to watch
- 24:05Speaker 1: and stuff on from the scream at that point. Yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 1: that's really interesting because of the fact that you know, uh,
- 24:11Speaker 1: you know, Disney was like that when Disney, because I
- 24:13Speaker 1: have Disney Plus of course, and I got Disney Plus
- 24:15Speaker 1: and uh Mandalarian, Okay, it came out every manner. It
- 24:20Speaker 1: came out every week, so I had to wait the
- 24:22Speaker 1: next week to see the episode. And it was really
- 24:25Speaker 1: smart because it was a really good series. And so
- 24:28Speaker 1: so I'm sure pretty sure that worked for them because
- 24:31Speaker 1: guess what, every week I was right there. Otherwise they
- 24:33Speaker 1: just have me for one one weekend and I was
- 24:36Speaker 1: I was gone. And so but that was a really
- 24:39Speaker 1: really great series, The Mandalarian. Of course Netflix has started
- 24:42Speaker 1: the model of ben watching bench watching. But I think
- 24:45Speaker 1: that because of quimbies. It's a short form. It forces
- 24:48Speaker 1: you to want to see the next one to keep
- 24:50Speaker 1: your energy going. You know, it's like, okay, let's fifteen minute,
- 24:53Speaker 1: d I need to see something else here. I got
- 24:55Speaker 1: time on my hands and so so so that's that's
- 24:58Speaker 1: why it's really great. And when I look at Kevin
- 25:00Speaker 1: and what he's done. I saw him, of course, so
- 25:02Speaker 1: I mean Hobbs and Shaw and who's funny in that?
- 25:05Speaker 1: And and this guy is just this just a great person,
- 25:08Speaker 1: but a person who And I was doing some interview
- 25:10Speaker 1: and I told him, I said, I really believe that
- 25:13Speaker 1: Kevin will with an oscar in his career because he
- 25:15Speaker 1: really really can act. He has a he has an,
- 25:18Speaker 1: he has a. He said, He's like our version of
- 25:20Speaker 1: what Robin Williams was in that era, because Robin Williams
- 25:24Speaker 1: could be very funny, he could act and very serious,
- 25:27Speaker 1: and Kevin is to splaying those same qualities in his
- 25:30Speaker 1: own way. I'm not saying he's Robin Williams, but he's
- 25:33Speaker 1: Kevin Hot in his own way and with those qualities.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But one of the qualities I really liked about you
- 25:38Speaker 1: is that your ability to give back. And the last
- 25:40Speaker 1: time we've talked about the internship program you created at
- 25:43Speaker 1: l O L and how it would provide opportunities for
- 25:46Speaker 1: young people to build their resume and experience. What is
- 25:48Speaker 1: the update on that program, Jeff, Actually, since the last
- 25:52Speaker 1: time we talked, I actually kept for my summer intern program,
- 25:56Speaker 1: which is basically intern program for social media and market.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Um you y'all bringing like four to six students and
- 26:03Speaker 1: actually we're putting together our our team for this summer.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But I actually I actually kept two of them while
- 26:12Speaker 1: they were at school. Okay, okay, look they were doing
- 26:16Speaker 1: so good. So I had them doing you could kick
- 26:18Speaker 1: him to the curve, you could kick him to the curve.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I had to keep him going like they were doing
- 26:23Speaker 1: such a good job. They were doing such a good job.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I kept two of them school. What's obviously is helping
- 26:28Speaker 1: pay for their school. But they so they worked for me.
- 26:30Speaker 1: They do like ten hours a week from you know,
- 26:33Speaker 1: from school, and so they stayed on and then they're
- 26:35Speaker 1: coming back the summer. But they were doing really well,
- 26:37Speaker 1: they really picked up everything. Um, and I literally kept
- 26:42Speaker 1: them on so help. What happened is those two will
- 26:45Speaker 1: help lead this new team that I'm bringing in in
- 26:48Speaker 1: the summer, right right, right right, And now you got
- 26:50Speaker 1: to be the team leaders. Now is it the way
- 26:52Speaker 1: that Okay, they have my listeners and other people. How
- 26:55Speaker 1: could one can want participate to want to apply or
- 26:58Speaker 1: how does this work? Yeah? Well, well let me tell
- 27:00Speaker 1: let me tell you what I was I was on
- 27:03Speaker 1: the way to doing. Um, we so we when we
- 27:07Speaker 1: were shooting our Kenny the Baxtor. So when we finished
- 27:09Speaker 1: that hard we were in Atlantic. Kevin had another movie,
- 27:13Speaker 1: um he was gonna do, so he was gonna be
- 27:15Speaker 1: in Atlanta until until Jeanne and so we were gonna
- 27:19Speaker 1: shoot because we have an interview show that Kevin is
- 27:21Speaker 1: doing kind of like the Dave Letterman show called Heart
- 27:23Speaker 1: to Heart, and so we were gonna shoot these in Atlanta.
- 27:26Speaker 1: But what I was going to do was set up
- 27:28Speaker 1: a program at Spellman and more House to have students
- 27:32Speaker 1: work on the work, actually work on the productions. Hemple
- 27:36Speaker 1: was marketing like a whole curriculum because we were gonna
- 27:39Speaker 1: be there for three or four months. So obviously we
- 27:42Speaker 1: can't do that. So I gotta I gotta see some milk.
- 27:44Speaker 1: But I was I was going to accelerate, like because
- 27:48Speaker 1: we have a lot of productions and a lot of
- 27:50Speaker 1: people in school don't get production. I was going to
- 27:54Speaker 1: have a kind of a production internship program. Also. Um
- 27:59Speaker 1: now I just I don't know if we're gonna go
- 28:01Speaker 1: back on that, so we don't. Well, I have to
- 28:03Speaker 1: figure out something else to do during the summer on it.
- 28:06Speaker 1: But yes, there is the opportunity for other students to
- 28:08Speaker 1: do to do different things right now, be centered around
- 28:12Speaker 1: social media until I figure out what when the production
- 28:15Speaker 1: strategy is gonna be Jeff, Uh, you know every okay,
- 28:19Speaker 1: year four okay, I know it's gonna be a different
- 28:21Speaker 1: Jeff clinic and story of success and pivity and uh
- 28:25Speaker 1: and making a difference because I know that every year
- 28:28Speaker 1: you've you know, because you pitched some ideas of me
- 28:30Speaker 1: participating in certain formatics to reach on has changed and
- 28:33Speaker 1: that doesn't. And I understand that I would relate to that,
- 28:36Speaker 1: and I understand that you are clearly understanding that. Look,
- 28:40Speaker 1: when I walk in this room, it may be Tuesday,
- 28:43Speaker 1: but it may be a different tues than who it
- 28:45Speaker 1: was last Tuesday, and be prepared to make those adjustments.
- 28:48Speaker 1: And congratulations man. As always, I'm talking to Jeff Clanner,
