- 0:13Speaker 1: giving them just like the milling buck bus things. And
- 0:17Speaker 1: it's not good. Steve har to mother for stunt joy.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use that turn ar. You gotta turn to
- 1:41Speaker 1: turn them out. Turn got to turn them out to
- 1:45Speaker 1: turn turn the water the water. Come come on your back.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Uh huh. I shall will a good heart to everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, Come on dig me now
- 2:08Speaker 1: want it on to Steve Harvey got a radio show. Um.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Five things that I know successful people have to do
- 2:17Speaker 1: to be successful. The principles are the same. You can
- 2:20Speaker 1: apply it to anything, you know, if you want to
- 2:23Speaker 1: be happily married, you know, whatever it is. The principles
- 2:26Speaker 1: of success are the same. There are a series of
- 2:29Speaker 1: things that you have to do. You cannot skip the
- 2:32Speaker 1: steps of success. If you do, you're going to have
- 2:35Speaker 1: to go back and step on them anyway. So here's
- 2:38Speaker 1: here's here's here's a part man that I want you
- 2:41Speaker 1: all to understand about me and and and about how
- 2:45Speaker 1: to look at it. You know, you cannot underestimate faith
- 2:55Speaker 1: and prayer. You just can't. You cannot underestimate the power
- 3:03Speaker 1: of faith and the power of prayer. See for me,
- 3:09Speaker 1: this is just for me. Now, this ain't in the
- 3:11Speaker 1: scripture nowhere. This is just something I discovered. What prayer
- 3:15Speaker 1: did for me was was it tied me to my creator.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It gave me a sense and I'm describing it this way,
- 3:26Speaker 1: but I'm telling you it's deeper than this. But it
- 3:29Speaker 1: gave me a sense that I wasn't alone and an actuality.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I wasn't. But prayer helped connect me to the power
- 3:41Speaker 1: source that was available to me to get through, get around,
- 3:48Speaker 1: or get over whatever it was that was in a way,
- 3:53Speaker 1: whether it was just a period I stretched, I had
- 3:55Speaker 1: to go through hard work. It had a period I
- 3:58Speaker 1: had to go through to learn some less since some
- 4:01Speaker 1: periods I had to go through from having to pay
- 4:04Speaker 1: for some of the mistakes I've made. Whatever the case
- 4:06Speaker 1: may be, prayer gave me a decided advantage, especially oh,
- 4:17Speaker 1: here we go, Especially over my enemies. Now, the majority
- 4:23Speaker 1: of people in my life that were my enemies, I
- 4:25Speaker 1: didn't want them to be my enemies, Make no mistake
- 4:28Speaker 1: about this. But through the thing called life, some things
- 4:32Speaker 1: went down, Some things happened from here and then went
- 4:35Speaker 1: over here that way, and a person became my enemy.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The majority of enemies I had came out of nowhere.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I have no reason to even see why they are
- 4:47Speaker 1: my enemies. But you know, life goes on, man. It
- 4:51Speaker 1: happens from time to time. Some people just won't let
- 4:54Speaker 1: it go. See some people, in their quest to do
- 4:59Speaker 1: something to you or to make you pay, they just
- 5:02Speaker 1: won't let it go. But it may cause you some discomfort,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and some of them may be lies about you, and
- 5:08Speaker 1: all of this and all of that, but you that
- 5:11Speaker 1: that can't prohibit you from going forward. So what I'm
- 5:14Speaker 1: saying is prayer gave me the strength, wisdom understanding the
- 5:19Speaker 1: carriage to either go through it, go around it, or
- 5:24Speaker 1: go over it. But it happened. I do not know
- 5:30Speaker 1: how I could have made it. Without faith and without prayer,
- 5:35Speaker 1: it would have. Something would have got me. You two
- 5:40Speaker 1: would have got me. The bloggers would have got me.
- 5:47Speaker 1: My partners that I grew up with, that used to
- 5:49Speaker 1: laugh behind my back. They would have got me. My
- 5:54Speaker 1: friend that would over my mother's house one time and
- 5:57Speaker 1: told her. You know what Steve's problem is he out
- 6:00Speaker 1: there telling them jokes. He just lazy, he don't want
- 6:02Speaker 1: to work. That would have got me. They didn't know.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I ain't really mad at him, because they were just
- 6:11Speaker 1: All they was doing was basing their conversations and passing
- 6:14Speaker 1: judgment based on what they knew, based on what they believed.
- 6:20Speaker 1: They didn't believe I was gonna make it. But that's
- 6:23Speaker 1: them though. If it was not for the faith, which
- 6:27Speaker 1: is the belief in things that you cannot see, I
- 6:30Speaker 1: wouldn't have made it because I would have listened to
- 6:33Speaker 1: everybody else who didn't see me getting here and went
- 6:38Speaker 1: along with it. And then prayer. Oh my goodness, man,
- 6:43Speaker 1: how many times has prayer bailed me out? Prayer has
- 6:47Speaker 1: bailed me out? Prestiel belling me out. Tell you the truth, man,
- 6:53Speaker 1: quiet as his kelt prayer. That connection to your heavenly Father,
- 7:01Speaker 1: that connection to your creator, that connection to that source
- 7:04Speaker 1: of power and inspiration, that connection of never feeling that
- 7:08Speaker 1: you're alone. You know. I was watching a Bishop Jakes
- 7:11Speaker 1: on the TV yesterday and it was a repeat and
- 7:16Speaker 1: one of the things he was talking about, well, let
- 7:20Speaker 1: me just get to the gist of it. I was
- 7:23Speaker 1: going through a portion of my life and I and
- 7:28Speaker 1: I went through it for some years, y'all. I had
- 7:30Speaker 1: gotten myself into a jam that lasted for years, I'm
- 7:35Speaker 1: telling you, for years, with some serious consequences to follow.
- 7:40Speaker 1: For years. And I was so busy looking at who
- 7:48Speaker 1: I was at. I was sulking sometimes, Man, I'd get
- 7:54Speaker 1: on the radio, Man, I'd be just done. I was sulking.
- 7:58Speaker 1: My my spirit had gotten low. I had gotten tired
- 8:04Speaker 1: of the fight, and I would I would come on
- 8:08Speaker 1: some mornings, man, and I will try try not to
- 8:10Speaker 1: let on, but I was hurting. I was because I'd
- 8:12Speaker 1: been in it for years. Man, I had been in
- 8:14Speaker 1: this thing for years. And one thing I was doing.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I was so busy looking at where I was at.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And when I was watching Bishop Jakes, he preached this sermon.
- 8:27Speaker 1: He was talking about so busy looking at where you
- 8:34Speaker 1: at that you don't even realize that God has been
- 8:42Speaker 1: with you the entire time. And you know what, man,
- 8:49Speaker 1: just yesterday, just yesterday, I heard this and I text him.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I text Bishop Jakes, and I thanked him because it
- 8:56Speaker 1: was an old message I could tell. And I called
- 8:59Speaker 1: a text him up and I said, Man, thank you
- 9:01Speaker 1: so much. I was just watching you on TV and
- 9:04Speaker 1: you told me Man, something that I that I'll always
- 9:08Speaker 1: remember that whatever you're going through, that he's there with
- 9:12Speaker 1: you the whole time. But see when sometimes when you're
- 9:15Speaker 1: so busy looking at where you at, you don't even
- 9:17Speaker 1: notice where he is. And see sometimes, man, that that
- 9:21Speaker 1: helped me, and that's going to help me in the
- 9:24Speaker 1: future to realize that what I'm going through, that he's there.
- 9:27Speaker 1: He's there with me, and he gonna protect me, and
- 9:30Speaker 1: he's gonna let my enemies overcome me, and he ain't
- 9:32Speaker 1: gonna let nobody overtake me, and he ain't gonna let
- 9:35Speaker 1: me go under because he's there. It's just you can't
- 9:39Speaker 1: be so busy looking at where you at that you
- 9:40Speaker 1: don't take notice or where he at. God is always there,
- 9:44Speaker 1: He's always available, And the best way to tap into
- 9:47Speaker 1: that and know it is you got to pray. Prayer
- 9:50Speaker 1: has changed my life. Prayer can change your life. You
- 9:54Speaker 1: can become something if you just pray. You're listening to
- 10:02Speaker 1: here we are are we now were in it, ladies
- 10:08Speaker 1: and gentlemen, that it is the call of the greatest
- 10:13Speaker 1: morning show on Earth. Ringling Brothers once said, the greatest

- 12:35Speaker 1: boy Bourbon Bourbon and plans or either Bourbon and pecans
- 12:41Speaker 1: is one of the two. I just had it in
- 12:44Speaker 1: came it was good in Jerry's fan Yeah monkey, yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: like slap you behind, like like I have some of
- 12:58Speaker 1: my refrigerators house. Okay, I don't play, don't I like
- 13:03Speaker 1: a little? Ben and Jerry's cole Stone hurt my feelings
- 13:10Speaker 1: one time recently too. What happened because their version of
- 13:15Speaker 1: cookie dope? Uh huh, very disappointed. That's not a favorite flavor,
- 13:24Speaker 1: oh cookie dope? All No, it's not a favorite of mine. No, girl,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you ain't no ice cream person. Yes, I am all right. Listen.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Coming up in thirty two minutes after the hour, we're
- 13:38Speaker 1: gonna do Steve's favorite segment. It's called ass the CLLO,
- 13:41Speaker 1: the Chief Love Officer. Right after this, you're listening to
- 13:45Speaker 1: the stow coming up at the top of the hour,
- 13:49Speaker 1: guys c and ends Don Lemon. Yes, a very special
- 13:53Speaker 1: guest and you don't want to miss it. You do
- 13:56Speaker 1: not want to miss it. Uh, but right now it
- 13:59Speaker 1: is time for the cello. The Chief Love Officer, Steve
- 14:02Speaker 1: Harvey is here and this one. Steve is from Corey
- 14:06Speaker 1: in Birmingham. Corey says, I've been dating a girl for
- 14:10Speaker 1: four months and we are college singer seniors. I'm a
- 14:13Speaker 1: computer nerd and I'm slated to be valedictorian this year.
- 14:17Speaker 1: My girl is a cheerleader and she's in a sorority.
- 14:20Speaker 1: She's popular. I'm not. I feel like she's ashamed of me.
- 14:24Speaker 1: When we're at my place, she's all lovey dovey all
- 14:27Speaker 1: the time. When we're on campus, she barely acknowledges me.
- 14:31Speaker 1: She says she's falling from me and I'm perfect marriage material.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But we don't need people in our business, so it's
- 14:37Speaker 1: best to keep our relationship quiet. What do you think
- 14:40Speaker 1: is really going on? Is she ashamed of me? Yeah?
- 14:44Speaker 1: And now listen to me. It's okay, it's okay. Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 1: he's a nerd. Yeah, he's a nerd. He damned it
- 14:56Speaker 1: about valor victoria. Very few cute men are value victorious.
- 15:04Speaker 1: A lot of cute women be value victorious, but very
- 15:08Speaker 1: very you just say valor vic Hey, I have never
- 15:14Speaker 1: been up for it, the title. I wasn't fit to be,
- 15:21Speaker 1: no where near that. No, they didn't even let me
- 15:25Speaker 1: graduate in the front. So it's very few attractive men
- 15:30Speaker 1: that become that high level are smart now A lot
- 15:36Speaker 1: of women can do it? And so what didn't happen
- 15:38Speaker 1: to you? Bro? Is you marriage material? But you're not popular?
- 15:42Speaker 1: She don't. She ain't really flouncing with you in front
- 15:45Speaker 1: of nobody because you are nerved, but just accept its role.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You're being used, you're smart, you probably help her with
- 15:53Speaker 1: a school work, and you're being used for your body
- 15:57Speaker 1: and don't that's the yeah. Is flouncing a word? Well?
- 16:07Speaker 1: I my mom used to tell me that all the time.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Is you checking me? Now? I was just talking to
- 16:17Speaker 1: the ladies asking them with flower, saying flowncing you want
- 16:21Speaker 1: flouncing the word? Yes, ignorant. Let's get to Raven in Dover, Delaware, Clo.
- 16:29Speaker 1: She says, my best friend and our and I are
- 16:31Speaker 1: in our early thirties. I am single and she just
- 16:34Speaker 1: got divorced. Since her divorce, she loves to go out
- 16:37Speaker 1: and get sloppy drunk and have sex with old friends
- 16:40Speaker 1: or co workers and a few one night stands here
- 16:43Speaker 1: and there. I hate to see herself destruct like this.
- 16:46Speaker 1: One of our close male friends told me that I
- 16:48Speaker 1: will be judged by the company I keep because birds
- 16:51Speaker 1: of a feather flock together, Uncle Steve, Is this true?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Will guys think that I'm a drunk and an easy
- 16:58Speaker 1: lay if I keep hanging with her? Well? Yeah, I
- 17:01Speaker 1: mean he told you right, that's how guys do it,
- 17:03Speaker 1: y'all together. You with it all the time. You must
- 17:06Speaker 1: approve of this lifestyle and behavior. So yeah, quite naturally,
- 17:10Speaker 1: even though it may be so opposite from from the truth,
- 17:15Speaker 1: but the assumption it's going to be okay, all right,
- 17:21Speaker 1: just let me spend a little bit more time with
- 17:22Speaker 1: this one. See how we'll see what she wanted to
- 17:24Speaker 1: do because your girl just letting it go. Yeah, yea
- 17:31Speaker 1: one night stand. Yeah she's see. That's why like married
- 17:34Speaker 1: men can't go out with single men because your wife
- 17:37Speaker 1: eventually gonna ask you about something he did, because she's
- 17:40Speaker 1: gonna see her here's something crazy. Birds of fleather flock Together,
- 17:43Speaker 1: the association brings on participation will be applied to you.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Now that doesn't make it true, but it will be applied. Yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 1: so she should stop bringing her being her friend or
- 17:54Speaker 1: just hanging out with her. Well, you ain't gonna stop
- 17:56Speaker 1: being her friend. But you can't take all your friends everywhere. Now, Hello,
- 18:01Speaker 1: you have to categorize your friends. Yeah, see some of
- 18:05Speaker 1: my friends. I can go watch a baseball game with him.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I got some friends, but I got friends I can't
- 18:12Speaker 1: take around none of my jobs, not even this one's job. Yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 1: loose one. Yeah, a crazy one. There's some friends of
- 18:28Speaker 1: mine that can't come around Shirley. You know, Yeah, everybody
- 18:32Speaker 1: met a couple of my friends. Some because I know,
- 18:35Speaker 1: I can't call it the med one, because I know
- 18:37Speaker 1: call the hood. She'd be able to handle. You ain't
- 18:42Speaker 1: handle it. So I don't bring him up around you
- 18:44Speaker 1: because you're gonna say something, your little prim proper ass
- 18:46Speaker 1: and then you anyway, all right, So yes, so just
- 18:52Speaker 1: limit your your time. He is a g just yes,
- 18:56Speaker 1: shout out, Oh gee, you re all right, cello. This
- 19:08Speaker 1: is from Jericho and Monroe, Louisiana. She says, I'm a
- 19:11Speaker 1: newlywed twenty five year old woman, and I need your advice.
- 19:15Speaker 1: My husband is very sensitive and I can't stand making
- 19:19Speaker 1: love to him. During sex, he whimpers softly. If it
- 19:23Speaker 1: gets really good to him, he cries. Oh, this is
- 19:29Speaker 1: such a turn off. A few times I stopped in
- 19:32Speaker 1: the middle of sex and asked him just to be quiet.
- 19:35Speaker 1: When I asked my therapist about it, she says, it's normal,
- 19:38Speaker 1: and some men make macho noises and yell out, but
- 19:41Speaker 1: my husband is different and he makes softer noises. I
- 19:44Speaker 1: prefer more manly moaning. And I never ever want to
- 19:48Speaker 1: see a man crying after sex. How can I get
- 19:51Speaker 1: it to stop? Oh? You just can't help everybody, Come
- 20:01Speaker 1: on enough, it's that good. What are you doing? Oh? God, man,
- 20:21Speaker 1: shut up. I've never heard of a dude doing that before.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I just never have and I can't help you.
- 20:31Speaker 1: He didn't. He didn't cry for y'all got married. Well,
- 20:35Speaker 1: did you say that for when you got married? Yeah?
- 20:37Speaker 1: They may have. They're only twenty five, they're young. Yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 1: what are you crying for? He says what she says
- 20:44Speaker 1: when it really gets good? All right, we gotta move
- 20:47Speaker 1: on though. Coming up next, nephew Tommy is here to
- 20:50Speaker 1: run that breakback right after this you're listening show coming
- 20:57Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, CNN's Don Lemon
- 21:00Speaker 1: and we'll be our special guests. Yeah right now. Yes,
- 21:04Speaker 1: we can't wait for that right now, though, it is
- 21:05Speaker 1: time to have some fun. The nephew is here, would
- 21:08Speaker 1: run that prank back? What you got for us, nest
- 21:11Speaker 1: We got these three minute remarks, okay, and we're going
- 21:15Speaker 1: down here to do this funeral. There's gonna be three
- 21:18Speaker 1: minute remarks. Can't go over that, Let's go well, Yes,
- 21:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach your brother Keith, please. Yeah, this
- 21:27Speaker 1: is Keith Keith. How you doing this? Is Lawrence overhead
- 21:32Speaker 1: El Funeral Home. Okay. We are the ones that have
- 21:37Speaker 1: the um doing the funeral for sister Dolores. And that
- 21:42Speaker 1: is h y'all my understanding, right yeah, okay, And as
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know, the funeral is uh this coming Thursday. Yes,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I'll be that Thursday. I'm giving you a call because
- 21:59Speaker 1: it's been brought to my tension, uh that you are
- 22:04Speaker 1: going to be giving remarks for the funeral. Is that correct? Yes? Absolutely, okay.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I wanted to call you because we're getting ready to
- 22:13Speaker 1: print the programs for the funeral and let you know
- 22:17Speaker 1: that they have taken you off for the remarks because
- 22:23Speaker 1: they say that you're not going to be What do
- 22:28Speaker 1: you mean taking me off? Well, what I'm saying is
- 22:31Speaker 1: they say that you're you're not going to abide by
- 22:34Speaker 1: the two three minute rule that they have for remarks,
- 22:38Speaker 1: and they wanted they've they've taken you off. And uh uh?
- 22:42Speaker 1: Who who is they? Who come out? Come out? Who? Who?
- 22:47Speaker 1: What's the name is launch? I'm Launched, I'm the actual
- 22:51Speaker 1: funeral director lord? And who who told you to take
- 22:55Speaker 1: me off? One of the one of the family members.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna humans who who made the adjustment? And an
- 23:03Speaker 1: adjustment that ain't no adjustment, that's that's changing the whole program?
- 23:08Speaker 1: Who else is on the list? I mean there's quite
- 23:10Speaker 1: a few family members doing different things, uh throughout the funeral. Okay,
- 23:16Speaker 1: so how did you get to my name? Is what
- 23:18Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out that they said that let
- 23:21Speaker 1: listen to me. Listen, listen to me. Listen to me, brother,
- 23:24Speaker 1: keep listen to me. What they said it is that
- 23:26Speaker 1: you weren't going to abide by the time, you weren't
- 23:31Speaker 1: going to do your remarks in three minutes or less. Listen, listen, listen, listen.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Monty raised me, he put me through college. And you
- 23:41Speaker 1: think I'm I'm Beenna goes there in her funeral and
- 23:45Speaker 1: be under two minutes. Well, well listen for listen, brother,
- 23:50Speaker 1: keep brother, keep listen to me. Normally, when we have
- 23:53Speaker 1: these funerals, people who give remarks, we have them three
- 23:57Speaker 1: minutes or less. Okay, I'll tell you. I'll tell you what,
- 24:02Speaker 1: mister lord. Don't list the list. We have a shealer. Yes,
- 24:09Speaker 1: there's a ceiler that's singing your name off the list.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Take her off the list and put me where she
- 24:15Speaker 1: supposed to be with my current and her time is
- 24:19Speaker 1: Bobby Bobby, Yes, Bobby Junior is given remarks. That's a
- 24:28Speaker 1: that's that's Delores'. That's mister Laurs's son, right, Yes, that's son,
- 24:33Speaker 1: the one that been locked up. He just got out of.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Tell the truth, be told, he the one down. Then
- 24:38Speaker 1: put her in the cof. You needn't take him off
- 24:40Speaker 1: the list too. Give me all that time, because I mean,
- 24:43Speaker 1: if I gonna take nothing that Keith, let me let
- 24:46Speaker 1: me let me just say this to you. I cannot
- 24:49Speaker 1: take Sheila or Bobby Junior off I can't make any
- 24:53Speaker 1: alterations to this program unless they say that, actually, sir,
- 25:00Speaker 1: you already you already taking you already taking people name off,
- 25:03Speaker 1: you're taking my name off. But but they they orchestrated
- 25:07Speaker 1: this though. Who is they? Who is Dave? They for
- 25:12Speaker 1: having my problems? They try to take me off my
- 25:14Speaker 1: hockey program? Who is day? Sir? I'm not gonna get
- 25:19Speaker 1: into a family matter. But until they say that, you
- 25:22Speaker 1: can't matter. Sure, I'm not gonna. I don't want to.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I don't want to have this turn out to be bad,
- 25:29Speaker 1: and we want to have a great homegoing for sister
- 25:32Speaker 1: Deloyd's okay, damn right. And if I don't get to
- 25:36Speaker 1: say nothing, I guaranteese, I guarantee you it's gonna be
- 25:39Speaker 1: a toothful one in there. Somebody else don't get things
- 25:42Speaker 1: in the caff for tooth I guarantees that if I
- 25:45Speaker 1: don't get to say nothing, that my monkey funeral monthy
- 25:47Speaker 1: didn't pay for the college. I didn't put six thousand indunabal,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I bet you I tell you this. I'll tell you this,
- 25:55Speaker 1: mister lord. I bet you whether I don't want the program,
- 25:58Speaker 1: I'm doc. I bet you, I say, with the fool
- 26:01Speaker 1: I want to. I'll bet you that much. You tell
- 26:04Speaker 1: by that I didn't. I didn't put me through college.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I put money on the funeral. I called around a few.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Ain't putting no money on the Frindal tell in they
- 26:14Speaker 1: can't be on the program, man, Keith. They when they
- 26:20Speaker 1: decide who who Who's own it? If they changed the format,
- 26:26Speaker 1: then I will call you back. Who who the is they?
- 26:30Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to get. Get you understand who
- 26:33Speaker 1: is they? Can? I can? I tell you something? And
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't want you to get to I rate okay,
- 26:39Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, man. I just want
- 26:42Speaker 1: to say this, Keith, with them, This is nephew Tommy
- 26:45Speaker 1: from the Steve Harvey Mornin Show. You just got freaked. Dude,
- 26:49Speaker 1: You have gotten breaked by your cousin Bobby Junior. You bum,
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm Bobby Junior. I'm kicking Bobby. I know that my
- 27:06Speaker 1: pleasure is all. I ain't got Tundy playing man taking
- 27:10Speaker 1: me on damn program. I'm oh, Bobby said, y'all grew
- 27:20Speaker 1: up black brothers man, and you was you was basically
- 27:23Speaker 1: another son of mister Lord's. That's right, Yes, yes, I
- 27:26Speaker 1: was man. Oh hey, let me ask you this, man,
- 27:31Speaker 1: what is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio
- 27:34Speaker 1: show in the land, Steve Harvey Morning Show. That's it?
- 27:43Speaker 1: Three minute more? Man, ain't for three minutes? Just get
- 27:47Speaker 1: you know, because it bothers me called everything. You go
- 27:49Speaker 1: to a funeral, you sit back there and look at
- 27:51Speaker 1: your watch and say, they're not gonna make it three minutes,
- 27:55Speaker 1: five minutes, six minutes, seven minutes. Are you serious? Come on?
- 27:59Speaker 1: You had time to rehearse all these changing statements, they'd
- 28:02Speaker 1: be making time. And let me say one more thing. Yeah,
- 28:05Speaker 1: and then this one time I remember when do y'all know?
- 28:10Speaker 1: And I'm gonna say I'm gonna say this about Robert.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna say this because Robert and me And listen,
- 28:17Speaker 1: me and Robert, y'all got this bad with before me.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Robert and man, that's my boy right there. Y'all don't know.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Oh see, we will get ready to go to jail.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Oh hi, I think we get the picture. I don't
- 28:40Speaker 1: know how I'm coming about Robert, Robert thinking, nephew, our
- 28:46Speaker 1: special guests were in SNN don lemon. You're listening, hey,
- 28:54Speaker 1: listen up to everybody joining us this morning. As promise
- 28:57Speaker 1: we have an esteemed uh Emmy award winning journalists on CNN. UH.
- 29:03Speaker 1: He hosts his very own night the show it's called
- 29:05Speaker 1: CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, and he recently just launched
- 29:10Speaker 1: a new podcast. It's called Silence Is Not an Option
- 29:14Speaker 1: and it's on CNN Audio. We're gonna get to it.
- 29:17Speaker 1: We're gonna find out more about it. But I want
- 29:19Speaker 1: to introduce him in a way that he's never been
- 29:21Speaker 1: introduced before. But the dudes that Steve Harvey grew up with,
- 29:28Speaker 1: I can't even tell you the this collection of men
- 29:32Speaker 1: are different. This is what they call you, d D
- 29:37Speaker 1: D D Damn Don Lemon, lady, a gentleman that Damn
- 29:45Speaker 1: Don Lemon. Welcome, Welcome, Hey Don Don. I bet you
- 29:52Speaker 1: never knew that man, and laugh at the same time. Brother,
- 29:57Speaker 1: you your work. Shirley said it before we went on
- 30:02Speaker 1: the air, Man, how we feel about you, how you
- 30:06Speaker 1: your bravery on so many fronts. Man, It's just it's inspirational, man,
- 30:11Speaker 1: And we just wanted to say, man, we're huge fans
- 30:14Speaker 1: of yours, and please man, keep up the good fight
- 30:18Speaker 1: because he hates you and his people, which is the
- 30:27Speaker 1: greatest compliment. So I appreciate you, and I am honored
- 30:30Speaker 1: to be on and I look up to you, so
- 30:33Speaker 1: it's a mutual admiration all of you. Thank you for
- 30:35Speaker 1: inviting me on. Everybody. No, absolutely, Hey man, let's get
- 30:39Speaker 1: into this because last month you launched your podcast on
- 30:42Speaker 1: CNN Audio and it is an appropriately named to It's
- 30:46Speaker 1: called Silence is Not an Option? Tell us about it, man,
- 30:50Speaker 1: Why why a podcast and how and why the title
- 30:53Speaker 1: of it? Because you know, I guess you guys can
- 30:56Speaker 1: tell when you hopefully you can from watching the show.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I like, sometimes I want to continue on with conversations
- 31:03Speaker 1: and that I think are important, but but I have
- 31:06Speaker 1: to get to the next segment. You know, you do.
- 31:09Speaker 1: You have to get to the news of the day,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and you have so many topics to cover, and there's
- 31:13Speaker 1: sometimes I really want to dig in, and sometimes television
- 31:17Speaker 1: doesn't allow you to the intimacy that you have that
- 31:22Speaker 1: you have on radio quite honestly, that you have on
- 31:24Speaker 1: a podcast where you can really talk to people and
- 31:27Speaker 1: they let their guard down because that scary camera is
- 31:30Speaker 1: not right in front of their faith, you know what
- 31:31Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I wanted to drill down on these topics,
- 31:35Speaker 1: especially now after George Floyd's death, after COVID, where people
- 31:39Speaker 1: are sitting at home and they feel vulnerable and everybody
- 31:41Speaker 1: in some way can kind of relate to each other
- 31:43Speaker 1: through that vulnerability. And I said, now is the time
- 31:46Speaker 1: to do it? And I was. I had picked up
- 31:48Speaker 1: the phone to call the head of digital and I
- 31:51Speaker 1: opened my email and he sent me an email saying, hey,
- 31:54Speaker 1: let's do a podcast. And I went, well, it was
- 31:56Speaker 1: meant to happen. That was That's God. Yeah, yeah, hey,
- 32:00Speaker 1: And you know your stance, man, do you do you
- 32:03Speaker 1: get major support from CNN with the stance that you
- 32:07Speaker 1: take on so many different issues? Black Lives Matter? Is
- 32:11Speaker 1: Donald Trump? How do you feel the network behind you?
- 32:17Speaker 1: I do, but I still worry. Trust me every Listen.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of social media because, um,
- 32:26Speaker 1: you know, it was great in the beginning, but it's
- 32:28Speaker 1: become so toxic, right, you know, you know, when I
- 32:30Speaker 1: get off the air, I'll tech social media. It's like,
- 32:32Speaker 1: oh am, I canceled. Now I'll look and I'm like
- 32:35Speaker 1: that I go too far. But I listen, I've had
- 32:37Speaker 1: I haven't had support from any employer, any employee that
- 32:42Speaker 1: I've ever worked for more than I've had now and
- 32:45Speaker 1: our you know, our boss. We've Jest Sucker here, who
- 32:47Speaker 1: is just news a news person to the core, and
- 32:50Speaker 1: he is very supportive of his people and he understands that. Look,
- 32:55Speaker 1: everybody has a point of view, everybody has a lens.
- 32:58Speaker 1: That doesn't mean that you're biased. I bring my particular
- 33:01Speaker 1: expertise to the to the to the audience. And I'm
- 33:04Speaker 1: a black man who grew up in America, and if
- 33:07Speaker 1: I wasn't speaking the truth, especially now in this moment,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I would be derelict in my duties as a journalist
- 33:14Speaker 1: and as a black person telling that story in America.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, I see that. I see that in you.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Hey man, you okay. Now, this podcast it's called Silence
- 33:26Speaker 1: is not an option. And uh and uh, you're gonna
- 33:30Speaker 1: have today's podcast. You're gonna have on Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who,
- 33:34Speaker 1: by the way, one of my all time favorite basketball
- 33:37Speaker 1: players when I was a kid. I'm putting them at
- 33:39Speaker 1: thirty three on my sneakers. So I wanted to be him,
- 33:42Speaker 1: and I had the same lips he had, so I figured, cool,
- 33:45Speaker 1: let's go. Wow, I just do that just for color.
- 33:51Speaker 1: You know, when you smile yeah, yeah, So kind of
- 33:56Speaker 1: what did you all kind of cover on the podcast
- 33:59Speaker 1: What Can People Aspect Today? Well, you know he's brilliant. Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 1: and you just said that he's brilliant and he's an intellectual,
- 34:06Speaker 1: and you think, like, well, you know he's a sports
- 34:08Speaker 1: that he is an intellectual. He's one of the smartest
- 34:10Speaker 1: people I've ever interviewed. And after this whole thing started,
- 34:13Speaker 1: you know, he became a Muslim. He converted back in
- 34:17Speaker 1: at late sixties I think are early seventies. I forget,
- 34:19Speaker 1: I forget the exact day. Don't quote me on that,
- 34:21Speaker 1: but he converted because you know, you live in America
- 34:24Speaker 1: religious freedom, and so he had heard had been hearing
- 34:27Speaker 1: all these comments when people like Nick Cannon from the
- 34:30Speaker 1: Sean Jackson, Steven Jackson and so on and so on,
- 34:35Speaker 1: and they've apologized now so and listen, we believe in
- 34:38Speaker 1: redemption in America. But he was hearing all these things,
- 34:41Speaker 1: and so he wrote something and op ed telling people, hey, listen,
- 34:46Speaker 1: we cannot expect people to support us as marginalized people
- 34:51Speaker 1: and to understand black lives matter and racism if we
- 34:55Speaker 1: are going to make remarks that are insensitive to other
- 34:58Speaker 1: people of differentess the cities of different religions, and he
- 35:01Speaker 1: wrote this fantastic out ed. I called him up and
- 35:04Speaker 1: asked him to be on, and he had some really
- 35:06Speaker 1: profound things to say about it, about his relationship to
- 35:10Speaker 1: the Jewish community, about how he understands why people may
- 35:13Speaker 1: be saying anything, and how we need to move forward
- 35:16Speaker 1: and more importantly, have relationships with people and understand our connection,
- 35:22Speaker 1: our similarity to the Jewish people's flight. He is Kareem
- 35:26Speaker 1: abdul Jabar. He is a legend, and as I said,
- 35:28Speaker 1: he is brilliant. Hey, hey, don hang on one second. Hey, y'all,
- 35:32Speaker 1: we'll be back with more from Don Lemon right after this.
- 35:35Speaker 1: You're listening to show. All right, everybody, We're back with
- 35:42Speaker 1: the compelling D D D Dad damn Don limon. Okay,
- 35:49Speaker 1: this whole thing about the relationship between Blacks and Jews,
- 35:54Speaker 1: the one thing you said just a second Agod has
- 35:56Speaker 1: always kind of resonated with me. I just I don't
- 35:59Speaker 1: understand the division. And I guess some people have their reasoning,
- 36:03Speaker 1: but I just don't get it, because I think that
- 36:06Speaker 1: if any two people should be able to resonate with
- 36:10Speaker 1: one another and understand one another's feelings is it should
- 36:16Speaker 1: be our two communities, because between slavery and the Holocaust,
- 36:20Speaker 1: we're talking to the great atrocities against the human human kind.
- 36:25Speaker 1: And I just I don't, I don't, I don't even
- 36:28Speaker 1: understand how it started to begin with. So I'm going
- 36:32Speaker 1: to tune in because maybe Kareem can help put some
- 36:35Speaker 1: light on that subject. Yeah, well he will help you Listen,
- 36:39Speaker 1: genocide a genocide. Slavery's no doubt what genocide. The Holocaust,
- 36:43Speaker 1: the genocide. But you should tune in not only for Kareem.
- 36:47Speaker 1: I mean, he's a good reason, but also I had
- 36:49Speaker 1: the professor Mark Doling of the San Franciscocto University, who
- 36:54Speaker 1: is a professor of Jewish studies. He talks, he talks
- 36:58Speaker 1: about why there is this, you know, tension sometimes between
- 37:03Speaker 1: Jewish and black the black community because and he goes
- 37:06Speaker 1: into it again better than I can. He talks about
- 37:09Speaker 1: white Jews and how Jewish people basically assimilated and became
- 37:15Speaker 1: white in the late nineteen fifties and nineteen sixties, meaning
- 37:19Speaker 1: they could take advantage of education. People didn't necessarily know
- 37:22Speaker 1: that they were Jewish. They started living in suburban neighborhoods
- 37:25Speaker 1: and so on and so forth, opportunities that were not
- 37:27Speaker 1: afforded to African Americans because we're black or black people,
- 37:31Speaker 1: because you can see that we're black, we were red line.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Not that they didn't face discriminations, but discriminations started to
- 37:37Speaker 1: be different because we were all kind of the same
- 37:39Speaker 1: living in the same quote unquote ghettos, facing the same discrimination.
- 37:45Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, Jewish people started to
- 37:47Speaker 1: assimilate more. And I think on some level, African Americans,
- 37:50Speaker 1: some African Americans are some black quotes may resent that
- 37:54Speaker 1: and think that Jewish people cannot relate to their plights.
- 37:56Speaker 1: So again, the Professor Mark Dollinger explains it a lot
- 37:59Speaker 1: better than I do. But you're going to learn a
- 38:01Speaker 1: lot about how what he says about that and how
- 38:04Speaker 1: that has to change and even Jewish people, he said,
- 38:08Speaker 1: especially when I'm quoting him white Jews, he says, have
- 38:11Speaker 1: to um really that they have to learn that and
- 38:15Speaker 1: there are some things that they need to unlearn. Interesting, right, Yeah,
- 38:20Speaker 1: that's really you know, Hey, don look, I got you
- 38:25Speaker 1: on here for a couple of reasons. Yeah, talk about
- 38:28Speaker 1: the podcast. Get it out there. I think you deserve
- 38:31Speaker 1: to be heard on several platforms. Okay, so we're doing that. Hey, hey,
- 38:36Speaker 1: don hang on one second, man, hang on, hang on,
- 38:38Speaker 1: stay right there. We'll be right back. Everybody with the
- 38:41Speaker 1: compelling D D D dad, damn don limit you're listening. Hi, y'all,
- 38:50Speaker 1: we're back. Uh Okay, here it is here. Why I
- 38:54Speaker 1: really want you on this show. Let's go Trump and Biden.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Let me start with this question. Right here is the
- 39:04Speaker 1: Democratic Party, dude, they have the right messaging right now
- 39:09Speaker 1: as you see it is Biden getting his message out
- 39:13Speaker 1: there the right way. Listen. I'm not a Democratic Republican
- 39:17Speaker 1: or political strategists, but I will tell you these are
- 39:21Speaker 1: unusual times, obviously because we're in the middle of a pandemic.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I think Joe Biden is getting his message out obviously
- 39:26Speaker 1: to the best that he thinks he can, to the
- 39:28Speaker 1: best of his ability. He's doing the right thing, I
- 39:32Speaker 1: think personally, by socially distancing, wearing a mask and not
- 39:38Speaker 1: going to places that draw large crowds. That that's what
- 39:42Speaker 1: any responsible person and especially responsible leaders, should do. Obviously,
- 39:46Speaker 1: if Trump had his brothers, we would have been back
- 39:48Speaker 1: in church in April. He would have had major rallies,
- 39:52Speaker 1: which he did, and then you know, the number of
- 39:55Speaker 1: positive people started going up, and he's going to hot
- 39:57Speaker 1: spots all wrong. Now he's having to changes soon. I
- 40:00Speaker 1: think it's the right strategy for Joe Biden right now,
- 40:02Speaker 1: because when your opponent is doing the damage to themselves
- 40:07Speaker 1: themselves to themselves, you don't have to do it. At
- 40:11Speaker 1: some point, though, he's going to have to step up
- 40:14Speaker 1: and and come back the messaging coming from the president,
- 40:19Speaker 1: because the President has a fully quoll pit and Joe
- 40:22Speaker 1: Biden doesn't have that luxury. So at some point, in
- 40:26Speaker 1: some way, he's going to have to figure out how
- 40:27Speaker 1: to get his way his message out more forcefully and
- 40:31Speaker 1: to more people, rather than just on social media and
- 40:34Speaker 1: doing an interview here and there. And I think that
- 40:37Speaker 1: that time is going to come. He's gonna have to
- 40:39Speaker 1: do that the closer we get to the conventions, and
- 40:41Speaker 1: obviously the closer we get to the election. Okay, he
- 40:45Speaker 1: should come out after Trump gives a press conference and
- 40:48Speaker 1: says something about him, especially if he doesn't, if he
- 40:51Speaker 1: doesn't tell the truth about Joe Biden or his plan
- 40:53Speaker 1: or what have you, he should come out right away.
- 40:56Speaker 1: They need a rapid response team, like the Trump people
- 40:59Speaker 1: have to be able to come back that because people will.
- 41:02Speaker 1: If you tell a lie enough times, people believe it,
- 41:05Speaker 1: and if you tell it with conviction, people will believe it.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Oh and he on a daily basis, he just shoveled
- 41:11Speaker 1: doses of it down that throat. Man. It's like miss
- 41:14Speaker 1: and here's here's the thing. I'm curious about it, and
- 41:17Speaker 1: tell me your opinion in this right here. I would
- 41:20Speaker 1: think there's a group of former Trump supporters who have
- 41:24Speaker 1: looked at him over the past four years and went
- 41:27Speaker 1: and said to themselves, this is ridiculous. I can't keep
- 41:31Speaker 1: this up. Do you get a sense of that. I
- 41:35Speaker 1: do get a sense of that, and is that I
- 41:38Speaker 1: think there's a small group of people within that group
- 41:42Speaker 1: that will change over and neither vote for the other
- 41:45Speaker 1: candidate meeting Biden or just won't show up for the falls.
- 41:51Speaker 1: But for the most part, what they will say is
- 41:53Speaker 1: I don't like him, I don't like what he does,
- 41:56Speaker 1: but I'm voting for him because of the judges, because
- 41:58Speaker 1: of abortion. I don't like him, I don't like what
- 42:00Speaker 1: he does, but I'm voting for him because of the economy.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I don't like him, I don't like what he does
- 42:04Speaker 1: because I'm afraid that my streets are going to turn
- 42:07Speaker 1: into war zones with Joe Biden in, and you're gonna
- 42:09Speaker 1: start defunding the police. I don't like him, but I
- 42:13Speaker 1: like the policies he supports. That's what you hear from people,
- 42:16Speaker 1: and it's hard to get them to change, especially when
- 42:19Speaker 1: you want them to vote for a Democrat. And the
- 42:22Speaker 1: longer the president can come out and beat Joe Biden
- 42:27Speaker 1: down with his rhetoric and tell his truths about him,
- 42:30Speaker 1: it's going to work on some of those people. And
- 42:32Speaker 1: quite honestly, the more people who are out there in
- 42:35Speaker 1: our cities who are shooting each other and killing each other,
- 42:39Speaker 1: it's it's gonna have an effect, and Trump knows it.
- 42:42Speaker 1: On suburban especially women, suburban families who may be prone
- 42:46Speaker 1: to vote for Joe Biden, they're gonna say, Joe Biden
- 42:49Speaker 1: is not going to be the same with law and orders.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I don't law and order. I don't want, you know,
- 42:53Speaker 1: these people coming to my neighborhood. I don't want my
- 42:55Speaker 1: neighborhood to turn into that. He's going to play on

- 43:46Speaker 1: both have a side piece? Okay, why can't we both

- 43:54Speaker 1: nephew is here with today's praying phone. Call you. What's up, nephew?

- 44:28Speaker 1: the back. This is Wilton, your daughter, the bit my son.
- 44:34Speaker 1: You can't just call my house and tell me my
- 44:36Speaker 1: daughter bit your say and be cussing at me. Lady,
- 44:39Speaker 1: I just said, your daughter Sakira bit my son Joshua
- 44:43Speaker 1: on the back, and I just I just said, no,
- 44:45Speaker 1: two things. One my daughter wouldn't bite nobody, and two,
- 44:48Speaker 1: don't call my house with this tone. I called with
- 44:51Speaker 1: any kind of tone when I want to call with
- 44:53Speaker 1: all I'm saying is your daughter then bit my son
- 44:56Speaker 1: in the back, and I'm gonna tell you I'm saying
- 44:59Speaker 1: is don't call my house with this add to saying
- 45:02Speaker 1: some that my daughter bait your child in the back.

- 45:24Speaker 1: do you know how that damn well, I've been with
- 45:26Speaker 1: her for four years. What you being? My daughter does

- 45:41Speaker 1: with my child. But I don't think you got your
- 45:44Speaker 1: facts straight. So next time you call somebody to tell
- 45:46Speaker 1: them about their child, figure out everything about your child first.
- 45:50Speaker 1: All I'm saying is that the people at the academy says, so, Carol,
- 45:53Speaker 1: bit my son Joshua were in the back. Well, I

- 46:08Speaker 1: back down. Hello is this Carol? This is why you
- 46:13Speaker 1: ain't up on me. Why are you still calling me?
- 46:15Speaker 1: And why are you yelling at me? My child didn't
- 46:18Speaker 1: bite your child in the back. When I picked up
- 46:20Speaker 1: my child, they didn't say to me your child is
- 46:22Speaker 1: fighting in the back. My child with my child every day.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Like I said in the first, lady, you must be
- 46:28Speaker 1: some kind of weekend daddy. How can I know my child?

- 47:13Speaker 1: Guess what Shakira got her? Daddy? You talking about whipping somebody? Daddy? No,
- 47:18Speaker 1: you have else to say. You can't call my house

- 47:34Speaker 1: you're gonna be talking about when the fake facts she

- 48:36Speaker 1: baby sha gonna whoop? Yo? Can I say something to you?
- 48:40Speaker 1: Say something to me then, Nephew timing from the Steve

- 49:47Speaker 1: to take the mask down and it won't be happen
- 49:51Speaker 1: this year because ain't nobody going to school? Isn't this crazy? Yes?
- 49:58Speaker 1: In such a short period of time too, that's gonna
- 50:01Speaker 1: crush my kids if they can't go to school. They
- 50:03Speaker 1: want to go to school, man, Yeah, my kids want
- 50:06Speaker 1: to go to school. How do you feel about it? Though?
- 50:08Speaker 1: I want them to be healthy. I don't want to
- 50:10Speaker 1: be putting my kids out there. They can catch anything
- 50:13Speaker 1: and come home and they say rather, I'd rather them
- 50:16Speaker 1: be here until we know. How are you though? Tommy?
- 50:20Speaker 1: As a home school teacher. Oh, I'm oh, they're not
- 50:25Speaker 1: gonna pass nothing that what you're talking struggling with that?
- 50:31Speaker 1: So they just gonna be safe. They're gonna be safe.
- 50:35Speaker 1: They't nobody for in the pass. Not No, this boy
- 50:39Speaker 1: going back to the third grade. If it's up to me, repeat,
- 50:43Speaker 1: you find to repeating their heads listening to this. Yeah,
- 50:51Speaker 1: Tommy getting mad at Jodan because he wouldn't listen what
- 50:53Speaker 1: the teacher say. I can't help and math changed too.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I can't help you man. Yeah, yeah, you're the one.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I remember years ago you told me that they didn't
- 51:05Speaker 1: carry the one anymore your younger. Yeah, yeah, you gotta
- 51:11Speaker 1: carry the one. She said, where we can? I said,
- 51:16Speaker 1: you can't it to the next column. She said, I don't.
- 51:20Speaker 1: I don't understand what. I don't know how you add
- 51:23Speaker 1: without that one? Daughters in all AP classes? Yeah, what
- 51:33Speaker 1: does that mean? Honest honest side like GT Gifted and Talented,
- 51:39Speaker 1: those type of classes. Once again, I didn't know what
- 51:43Speaker 1: Valley Victoria was. And three years I had twelve credits
- 51:52Speaker 1: in three years? Yeah graduate? So you took three three
- 51:59Speaker 1: uh credits each semester? H no, no, no, you took
- 52:04Speaker 1: eighteen hours in college three years but old, Yeah six weeks.
- 52:17Speaker 1: I mean most of us do We took what fifteen hours? Yeah? Eighteen?

- 53:12Speaker 1: but thank you nephew. Subject why can't we both have
- 53:17Speaker 1: a side piece? Dear Stephen Shirley, My husband and I.
- 53:20Speaker 1: I know. My husband and I have been married for
- 53:23Speaker 1: three years. Our marriage was good. It was going good
- 53:26Speaker 1: until a year ago when he told me he was
- 53:29Speaker 1: having an affair. Shortly after we met. He told me
- 53:33Speaker 1: about a female friend of his that lives out of
- 53:36Speaker 1: town and she's like a little sister to him. I
- 53:39Speaker 1: met her five days ago when she came to town
- 53:41Speaker 1: for homecoming. We got along great, but I don't trust
- 53:44Speaker 1: any females around my man. He and this woman texted
- 53:48Speaker 1: and called each other often, and when I asked what's
- 53:52Speaker 1: up with her or what they had talked about, he
- 53:54Speaker 1: would say it was just small talk. Last June, she
- 53:58Speaker 1: moved to our city, and my husband was so excited.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Last July, I found a ten pack of condoms in
- 54:04Speaker 1: his car and there were really and there were only
- 54:08Speaker 1: two left in the pack. My female intuitions mmmmmmmm, my
- 54:14Speaker 1: female intimi intuition told me that he was messing with
- 54:18Speaker 1: this woman that he called his little sister. I asked
- 54:21Speaker 1: him about the condoms, and he admitted that he was
- 54:23Speaker 1: having sex with her. He told me to say have
- 54:26Speaker 1: a history and he can't get her out of his system.
- 54:29Speaker 1: I told him that he needed to stop the affair
- 54:32Speaker 1: and we could go to counseling to fix our marriage.
- 54:34Speaker 1: He said there was no need for counseling because he
- 54:38Speaker 1: wants us both. I haven't had sex with him in
- 54:41Speaker 1: over a year, but we still keep up appearances in
- 54:44Speaker 1: public like we're a happy couple. His affair is still
- 54:47Speaker 1: going on, and I don't plan to leave him because
- 54:50Speaker 1: I love seeing him stressed out trying to keep two
- 54:53Speaker 1: women happy. My only problem now is that I've started
- 54:56Speaker 1: dating a new guy and my husband is being overly
- 54:59Speaker 1: possessive and tried to fight him. If he can have
- 55:02Speaker 1: a side piece, shouldn't I be allowed to please advise? Well,
- 55:07Speaker 1: wouldn't that just be perfect if we lived in a
- 55:09Speaker 1: perfect world, you know, where we could do whatever we
- 55:12Speaker 1: wanted to do and you know whatever. But it's not
- 55:15Speaker 1: like that. And you know that you already know there's
- 55:18Speaker 1: a double standard in the world, and that they're just
- 55:21Speaker 1: things that men do that are acceptable in the world.
- 55:23Speaker 1: But if a woman were to do the same thing,
- 55:25Speaker 1: she'd be talked about and judged harshly. And that's when
- 55:30Speaker 1: this is one of those things. This is one of
- 55:32Speaker 1: those times. Okay, the double standard. That's why he tried
- 55:36Speaker 1: to fight your so called side piece. Okay, because he
- 55:40Speaker 1: can do it, but he doesn't want you doing it.
- 55:43Speaker 1: You know, I do give him credit, I guess for
- 55:45Speaker 1: coming clean finally, you know, I mean after he got
- 55:48Speaker 1: busted out with the tim packet condoms and only two
- 55:51Speaker 1: in there. But I mean, your husband's way out of
- 55:54Speaker 1: line here. You know that he has no plans of
- 55:56Speaker 1: giving her up after only three years marriage. He's already
- 56:01Speaker 1: lying and cheating and won't stop. But but to you,
- 56:06Speaker 1: I just say, this is not a joke. I mean,
- 56:08Speaker 1: you say you just want to stick around because you
- 56:10Speaker 1: love seeing him stressed out. I mean, I suppose you
- 56:12Speaker 1: can get some sort of satisfaction and seeing that since
- 56:16Speaker 1: of the way he's treating because of the way he's
- 56:18Speaker 1: treating you. But I mean, you know this is this
- 56:22Speaker 1: is a crazy arrangement here. I think, don't you think
- 56:25Speaker 1: it would be better if you just left him and
- 56:28Speaker 1: went on with your man that you have now and
- 56:31Speaker 1: lived a happier life. You know, two wrongs do not
- 56:34Speaker 1: make a right, you know, I guess don't you want
- 56:37Speaker 1: a happier life? I don't get this. Why why you're
- 56:40Speaker 1: still there doing this? You know you could just move
- 56:43Speaker 1: on and do better with your life and let him
- 56:46Speaker 1: to do her and to be miserable. That's my response,
- 56:50Speaker 1: Steve Well, surely great response. The problem. The woman asked
- 56:56Speaker 1: a question of why can't we both have a side piece? Well,
- 57:04Speaker 1: let's just try this. Your first sentence is the answer
- 57:09Speaker 1: to that my husband and I have been married for
- 57:16Speaker 1: three years? Subject, Why can't we both have a side piece? Answer?
- 57:25Speaker 1: Because you and your damn husband have been married for
- 57:30Speaker 1: three years? Yea, our marriage was going good till a
- 57:34Speaker 1: year ago. Oh no, no, it wasn't. You thought it
- 57:37Speaker 1: was when he told me he was having an affair.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Now that's interesting. Why would he do that? And I'm
- 57:48Speaker 1: gonna tell you why. Shortly shortly after we met, he
- 57:51Speaker 1: told me about a female friend of his that lives
- 57:53Speaker 1: out of town, and she's like a little sister to him.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Most regular people ain't sleeping with their little sister. I
- 58:01Speaker 1: just want to throw that out there as to why
- 58:05Speaker 1: this whole letter reeks of false information? Why can't we
- 58:10Speaker 1: both have a side piece? Because we've been mad three years?
- 58:15Speaker 1: Madge was going good till a year ago. He told
- 58:17Speaker 1: me he's had a female friend out of town and
- 58:21Speaker 1: she's like a little sister to him. That's what he
- 58:23Speaker 1: told you. I met her five years ago when she
- 58:26Speaker 1: came to town for homecoming. We got along great, But
- 58:29Speaker 1: I don't trust any females around my mad here and
- 58:33Speaker 1: this woman text and called each other often, and when
- 58:35Speaker 1: I asked what's up with her? What they talked about?
- 58:39Speaker 1: He would just saying small talk. Okay. Last June she
- 58:43Speaker 1: moved out city and my husband was so excited. Last
- 58:47Speaker 1: July she only been here a month. Right, you found
- 58:52Speaker 1: a ten pack of condoms in this car, Tommy said
- 58:56Speaker 1: out loud. Condom coming to twelve Path, and it's two
- 59:01Speaker 1: left in the pack. In thirty days, they've been together
- 59:09Speaker 1: at least ten damn times. Whoa this out? Yeah? From
- 59:17Speaker 1: she got here in June. In July he was down
- 59:20Speaker 1: ten bam. All right, hang on, hang on, Steve, because
- 59:25Speaker 1: I got most of you when we come back this
- 59:27Speaker 1: high long I've been on this show. That's right at
- 59:30Speaker 1: twenty three minutes after the our subject today? Why can't
- 59:33Speaker 1: we both have a side piece? We'll get back into
- 59:36Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 59:40Speaker 1: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today strawberry letter.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Why can't we both have a side piece? Well, the
- 59:47Speaker 1: reason you can't have a side piece, first of all,
- 59:49Speaker 1: because y'all been married three years. Side pieces don't ever
- 59:52Speaker 1: work out. I'm just sharing something with you. The marriage
- 59:56Speaker 1: you thought was good till a year ago when he
- 59:58Speaker 1: told you he was having another fact. He just came
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: out and told you that, I'm we're gonna get to that.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Shortly after we met, he told me about a female
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: friend of his and live out of town, and she
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: like a little sister to him. I met her five
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: years ago when she came to town for home coming.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: We got along great, but I don't trust any female around.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: My man here and this woman text and called each
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: other often. When I asked him what's up and what
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: they talked about, he would say, small talk. What you want?
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: You know what I want? That's small talk. You got it,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: you want it, that's small talk. Last I asked, what's up?
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Small talk? Last June she moved to the city, and
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: your husband was so excited. Last July you found a
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: ten pack of condoms in his car. Tommy pointed out
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: that condoms coming to twelve pack. I happened to agree
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: that was only two left in the pack, which mean
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: ten times who in thirty days. That's every three days.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: He over there with his little sistem, small talking, small
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: talking chatting. Huh. My female intuition told me he was
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: messing with this woman that he called his little sister.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Pump your brakes, your female intuition, you know what told
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: me he was messing with him, And I don't have
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: female intuition. That twelve pack of columns you found that
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: ain't had but two left? You ain't got to have
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: intuition and know that all you gotta do is be
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: able to count. Yeah. Now, if you got a twelve
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: packer in your car, fellas and your girl find a
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: twelve pack still in now you picked him up for
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: your boy, or your boy left him in the car
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: when you picked him up, and you threw it in
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: your glove compartment till you see him again. That's a
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: conversation you can have. What you can't do is have
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: an open box of condom and they mix it? Who
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: put them in the car? Stupid as you dumb, Let
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: me explain this part to you. That's really gonna throw
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: you into something. Come on, my female intuition told me
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: he was messed with this woman. I asked him about
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: the condoms. He admitted that he was having sex with her.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Just like that. You just came out with that information
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: because just because we found some condoms. Oh, naw, Pardner. Oh,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I got a list of stuff I'm gonna throw out
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: at you for I tell y'all was having sex with somebody,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: and I care about you and I man, but he
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: just flat out and told you he hav another fair
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: because he don't care that, you know, because of that,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: that affair obviously means something to him. He told me.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: He told me that they have a history, which means
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: they've been doing this for a long time. He can't
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: get out of her system. When she came from home coming,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: she was in the system. When he introduced you, he
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: was in that. She was in the system. I told
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: him he needed to stop the affair. We could go
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: to counseling to fix our marriage. This where you got
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: in trouble. You know what he said after you told
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: him that, He said, ain't no need for counseling because
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I want both of y'all. What counseling go help that? None?
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: I want both of y'all. Now hear where you started me,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I haven't had sexual with him in over a year. Well,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: how many condoms you think he didn't went through in
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: a year. Let's just go eight in a month, times, twelve,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: seventy two times whoa dud that mask seventy two damn time,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: you're brilliant because you ain't having sex with him. But
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: guess why you ain't having a sex with him, because
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: you didn't meant a new dude that you're dating. Why
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: can't we both have side pieces? Because y'all two foods
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: is married now, but when you're in public, you act
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: like a happy couple. His affair still going on? This
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: one a letter get twisted like Shirley said, I don't
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: plan to leave him because I love seeing him stressed out.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: He that damn stressed out. He ain't that damn stressed
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: out because he ain't moved out and he's still seeing her. Yeah,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: he ain't that damn stressed out stress trying to keep
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: two women happy. He don't give a damn if you're happy.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: He keeping one woman happy. He just trying to keep
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: the other one quiet, which is you got He ain't
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: tripping with try nothing. He just wants you to shut
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: the hell up so he can going back over there.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: The only problem now is ill to start dating the
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: new guy, and my husband is being overly possessed and
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: tried to fight him. He want it all, he does. Yeah,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: they're young because they're still going home coming and all that. Yeah,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: he's being possessive and tried to fight him. If he
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: can have a side piece, should not be allowed to
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: please advise? Of course you can. If he got a
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: side piece, you have your side piece. Now he going
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: with his ass every time you see double standard? Why
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: don't you jump on home one time? Even we got
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: to get out of here. Listen, Thank you, Steve. Post
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: your comments on today's trade at Steve Harvey on Instagram
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: and Facebook. Please check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Why don't y'all get a divorce and then just go
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: see who you want to see? Yes, let's be free
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: with it. Thank you. Coming up at forty six after
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: the hour, our girl from the Talk, the one and
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Only Cheryl Underwood. Right after this, you're listening to Steve
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: it's Carla's Reality Update. But right now, Steve, please introduce
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: our girl from the Talk. Sure, that's what I'm talking
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: about now. Listen, people need to understand why this election
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: is more important than any election in our lifetime because
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: the president is of him wilding out, don't know what
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: he's talking about. When you don't know what you're talking
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: about on Fox News and they supposed to be your backups.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, your team, that's your team. Man.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Did you see Chris Wallace? His daddy would have been
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: proud of him? Mike Wallace? Yes? Or whatn't he? Whatn't
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: he he was? He was roping open them questions. I
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: ain't never seen nothing like that since boxing back when
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: me and Joe Frazier you hang out us, we already
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: knew that the police had been militarized. We already knew
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: that white supremacy had infiltrated law enforcement on all levels.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: We already know that we want good police in our community.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Now the press as it dead with his eye alone
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: can fix it. I believe he's violated the constitution when
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: you decide that you're gonna send some federal troops in,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: but you also sending people don't have no insignia, don't
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: have no name tag, You don't know what's really going on.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: And yes, the president has an authority under the Department
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: of Homeland Security and everything to protect federal land. They
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: can protect federal things, but that's all they can do.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: But when you start wilding out like some of these
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: things that we're seeing in Portland, and then you say
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: you're gonna send troops to Abuquerque, New Mexico, You're gonna
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: send troops to Chicago. You are now violated not just
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: the First Amendment, Peace for protests, what's the Fourth Amendment?
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: You do not have to subject yourself to unnecessary or
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: illegal search and seize her. That's why he's violated the
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Constitution and need to be in peach again. Okay, And
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I like Maya Lightfoot. I like her. She said, listen,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: We're not gonna have tyranny here. We don't need our
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: troops to be out here. We don't need We didn't
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: ask you for this help, So why are you sending
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: this help? And my thing is, does the mayor's gotta
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: stand strong? The governor's gotta stand strong, and we must
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: be ready to vote Trump out of office. I'm saying
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: this as a Republican. I am a never Trumper. He
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: is violating the Constitution, the First Amendment, and the Fourth Amendment,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: so he can no longer be the commander in chief.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: He could no longer be the President of the United States.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Get ready, because we vote you out? Did I say that, right, Carla?
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: For First and fourth Amendment violation of the Constitution. Anybody
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: else they would have rolled him out on the rail. Well,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Trump got to go, You got to go, all right, Cheryl.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: If Carla's reality update that's coming up right after this,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: you're listening, all right, Temmy, let's go. Let's get to it. Baby,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: she is here. It is third Carla Farrell with what
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: reality update? All right? Thank you, nephew. Well, let's just
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: talk about a reality star. Kim Kardashian West and her husband,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Kanye West. They've been in the news all week, you know,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: talking about his campaign rally, his Harriet Tubman's statement, those
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Twitter rants. Dave Chappelle flew to Wyoming to check in
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: on him. Well, yesterday, Kim broke her silence and released
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: a statement about Kanye's mental health, especially with all of
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: those hurtful comments that he has made about her, her mom,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: you know, and just the family altogether. Kim, she talked
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: about Kanye's struggle with bipolar and she and the family
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: are struggling with him, and she asked for compassion and empathy.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: Kim posted, as many as you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: Anyone who has or has a loved one in their
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: life who knows exactly incredibly complicated and aiful it is
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: to understand. She went on to say that those that
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: understand mental illness know that the family is powerless unless
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: the member is a minor. Kim said that Kanye is brilliant,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: but complicated, and on top of being a black man
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: and an artist who has experienced the painful loss of
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: his mother, Donda West back in two thousand and seven,
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: he has to deal with the pressure and isolation that
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: is heightened by his bipolar disorder. She went on to
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: say how the media and the public have to have
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: compassion and empathy when it comes to mental health issues,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: and she thinks those that express concern, you know, true
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: genuine concern of Kanye's well being and that's it. You know,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: it's just really really sad. Yeah, you know, yeah, it
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: is in the whole Fami everyone everyone. Yeah, you don't
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: want to see her husband go through things like that.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Then they're meltdown. No, no, no, no quoting its history.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: That's just wrong, though, Jesus, it's just a lot, he said,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: a lot of her for things about her. He you know,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: yesterday or the day before yesterday, he was talking about
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: divorcing her, saying she had a private meeting with Meek
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Mill to talk about prison reform. And then she came
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: back and said the meeting wasn't private, it was public.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: He talked about wanting to divorce her. So it is heavy.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: It is heavy. What is going on with them? Yeah,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: just dude. But see, I don't know anything about bipolar.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I don't know anything about it. So maybe it causes
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: you to do some things that I think is not smart.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: But I don't see discussing your private life publicly on
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: social media repeatedly. That's not smart. Has what they got
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: to do with anything? I mean, look, man, that's got
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: to be not the place to vent. I mean who
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: you trying to prove it to? You know, and you
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: got to take care of your business at home. Yeah,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: I don't care who you are. Yeah, And it's just unexcusable.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: It's a sad thing. I mean, you know, like Don
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Lemon talked about earlier, you know, to social media used
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: to be a good thing then all of a sudden
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: became toxic. So since we all who have good sense
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: not that it's toxic, why are you putting your life
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: on the toxic platform. And then Kim got to come
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: in and say, please be understanding. Well, women hold up,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: women hold up. I understand what she's saying that that's
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: perfectly right. But this ain't the social media ain't a
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: place of understanding. Yeah, that ain't what that is. People
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: can be harsh again very much. Ye judgment, they don't
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: stop to they tell you completely down, then they go
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: on to the next target. Yeah, yeah, for sure. So
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: we're praying for them, praying for Kanye as well. You know,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: we don't see nobody going through that. And finally, before
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: I run out of town, I run out of time,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: let me shout out the Real Housewives Ode of Town,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It was so cool
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: to see them against their boss, Andy Cohen on Celebrity
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Family Feud. Posted by Mary on Steve Harvey. I watched
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: that episode. It was so cool and Andy Cohen and
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: his team they won big money for Big Brothers and
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Big Sisters of America. So make sure you watch Celebrity
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Family Feud Sunday nights, eight pm, seventh Central, hosted by
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: my boss, Steve Harvey. We'll be back at twenty afters.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show all right
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: time now for Steve Harvey celebrity birthdays. M Junior, take
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: it away because this is near and dear to your heart.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Right here, I'm gonna let you do your thing. Go ahead,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: Oh do my birthdays celebrity birthdays. Oh, y'all already know
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: what to day is? What do tell us? Mister down
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: and Joda is what this is? This actually, Joda is
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: the whole birthday today as a group, as a group,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: we celebrate as a group. Fact, matter of fact, many
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: concerts right now, just for y'all. Hitty, I've been watching
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: you so so very long, trying to give him a
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: nerve build up to be so strong. I really won't
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: to meet you, but I'm kind of scared. You're a
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: kind of lady ass. We're so much class. I'm getting
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: my thoughts to get the the very next day. But
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: when I see you, lady, I forgid what to say
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: your eyes and have. It's a beautiful tune. The way
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: you're dressing walk today. It really turns me. Oh oh, Joe,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: come on, come on, come on, everybody, come and come
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: home to me. I can't duds no more, Jonah saying
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: some trending news coming up at thirty three minutes after
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: the hour. Have you birthday? Mister Dalvin from Don't scow
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: me back right after this you're listening to the Steve
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Hey, listen up to everybody joining us
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: this morning. As promise, we're having the steam Emmy Award
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: winning journalists don Lemon, let's go Trump and Biden. Let
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: me start with this question. Right here is the Democratic Party?
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Do they have the right messaging? Right now as you
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: see it is Biden getting his message out there the
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: right way. Look, I'm not a I'm not a Democratic
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Republican our political satadast, but I will tell you these
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: are unusual times, obviously because we're in the middle of
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: a pandemic. I think Joe Biden is getting his message out,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: obviously to the best that he thinks he can, to
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: the best of his ability. He's doing the right thing,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: I think personally by socially distancing, wearing a mask and
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: not going to places that draw large crowds. That's what
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: any responsible person and especially responsible leaders, should do. Obviously,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: if Trump had his brothers, we would have been back
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: in church in April. He would have had major rallies,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: which he did, and then you know, the number of
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: positive people started going up, and he's going to hotspots
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: all wrong. Now he's having to change his tune. I
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: think it's the right strategy for Joe Biden right now,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: because when your opponent is doing the damage to themselves
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: themselves to themselves, you don't have to do it. At
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: some point, though, he's going to have to step up
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: and come back the messaging coming from the president, because
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: the president has a fully full pit and Biden doesn't
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: have that luxury. So at some point, in some way,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: he's going to have to figure out how to get
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: his way his message out more forcefully and to more people,
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: rather than just on social media and doing an interview
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: here and there. And I think that that time is
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: going to come. He's gonna have to do that the
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: closer we get to the conventions, and obviously the closer
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: we get to the election. Okay, he should come out
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: after after truth is a press conference he says something
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: about him, especially if he doesn't if he doesn't tell
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: the truth about Jill Biden or his plan or what
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: have you. He should come out right away. They need
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: a rapid response team like the Trump people have to
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: be able to come back that because people will If
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: you tell a lie enough times, people believe it, and
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: if you tell it with conviction, people will believe it.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Oh and he on a daily basis. He just shoved
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: the doses of it down that throat. Man. It's like
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: vill And here's here's the thing. I'm curious about it,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: and tell me your opinion in this right here. I
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: would think there's a group of form Trump supporters who
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: have looked at him over the past four years and
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: went and said to themselves, this is ridiculous. I can't
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: keep this up. Do you get a sense of that.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: I do get a sense of that, And is that
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I think there's a small group of people within that
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: group that will change over and either vote for the
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: other candidate meeting Biden, or just won't show up for
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: the poll. But for the most part, what they will
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: say is I don't like him. I don't like what
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: he does, but I'm voting for him because of the judges,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: because of abortion. I don't like him, I don't like
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: what he does, but I'm voting for him because of
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: the economy. Coming up, it's our last break of the day,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: last break of the day, and we'll have some clothing
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey coming up
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: in forty nine minutes after the hour. Right after this,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: you're listening to Rvey Morning Show. All right, here we
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: are our last break of the day, and the one
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey is here with some closing remarks for Steve.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: You know what I've been talking about voting, and I
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: said I wasn't gonna stop, and I'm not. But I
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: want to say something else too, because doing times like these,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: the thing that keeps me afloat with all of the
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: challenges that's in front of me, that's in front of you,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: with all of the bits and pieces of good news
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: and bad news that you receive from time to time,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: because this thing is called life. And you know, I
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: don't care what you've planned, what your dreams are, you
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: can be going along and up pops this incredible thing
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: called life that goals, you know, kind of just awry.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: And so what I try to do is I try
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: to remember some things about my faith in moments like this,
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: because God never changes. He just never does. He was
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: this way before we got here, he'll be this way
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: before after we leave. He was here before all of this.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: And God gives us some things that can really help
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: us in times like this, and I think the thing
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: that He's provided for me the most that has helped
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: me is just comfort. I mean there are days, man,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: where you can really really feel completely unsettled. I have
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: news for you, a conversation with God and an incredible
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: sit down. Just open up, give him all you all
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: you all you, all your troubles, give him all your thoughts,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: all of your challenges, hand them over to him. It's
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: amazing the comfort level that comes with that. It's called prayer.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: It really is a comforting thing. And you know, for
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: people who are not believers, I feel sorry for you,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: but nothing against you. And I'm not talking to you
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: because I'm not really in the conversion business, but I
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: am in the strong suggestion business when it comes to
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: your faith. Whatever you choose or whatever you want to
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: call God is cool. But man, what a comfort prayer
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: is because it's the one thing that I can do
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: and I can get results instantly. See, let me tell
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: you what happens if I have a problem and I
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: take it to God. He may not solve the problem
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: for me the day I give it to him, which
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: is how I would love for it to go. But
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: what He provides for me in the interim is he
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: gives me such a calm peace that it's gonna be okay,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: that I have now the mind set to wait and
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: trust and realize that God is coming, that he will
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: fix it for me eventually, even if it's not on
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: the time frame that I want. Do you know how
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: cool that is to know that it's coming even when
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: it's not here. But the stress factor that we created
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: in our lives is when we never take it to
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: God and we just try to deal with it on
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: our own, day after day after day, and sometimes we
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: just ain't got no answers, no solutions, we don't know
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: where the next one coming from. And then on top
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: of all of that, here comes something else. Oh man,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: you have got to start unloading some of this to
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: your companion, to your creator, to your savior, to your
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: heavenly Father, and allow him to carry this. See. I
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: read a slogan nor time somebody sent me months ago
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: that says it ain't ain't the load that breaks you down.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: It's the way you carry it. See if if you're
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: carrying it wrong, that's what breaks you down. You know.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: It's so many things that you get from prayer, It's
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: so many things that it provide. But if as long
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: as God steals me, just makes me be steal that's
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: what helped. Look. I got some bad news the other day,
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: and let me tell you something. When I first got it,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: I was rocking and reeling with it. But you know
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: what I did, man, I took it to God and
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: I gave it to him. It was nothing I could fix,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: It was nothing I could do about it at the
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: particular moment. But as soon as I turned it over
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: to Him and said, hey, this is what I need.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: I need your help Lord, because I ain't got no
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: answer for this one right here, but I bet you do,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: he put my mind at ease immediately. And guess what,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: all of a sudden, it wasn't as daunting as it was.
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: It didn't. It didn't it didn't seem like there was
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: no answer, because God got an answer for you for
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: whatever it is. Because I ain't got no problem bigger
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: than my God. I just don't. I just don't, man,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: And I'm just strongly suggesting it to you all, especially
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: during this time. Look, we're dealing with the COVID, we're
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: dealing with the administration. We're dealing with unemployment, We're dealing
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: with with with with with with people being sick of quarantine.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: We're dealing with people not wearing masks. We're dealing with
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Black Lives Matter, We're dealing with a rise in white supremacy.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: We're dealing with the death of Floyd, the depth of
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: all breath of death of Brianna. We got all this,
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: we're dealing with. We've been screaming about this for years.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: And on top of all that, on top of all that,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: some of us got to wake up and have color
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: on us, on top of all that, and then guess what, then,
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: your president just told you you got sending your babies
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: back down to the school and it ain't even safe.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: All that all of that, Man, you better hand some
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: of that to God. You really do need some help,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: all right. That's just a strong suggestion, now that I've
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: said that, when we all vote dot org, ye Scott
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: to happen, y'all register go now to we all vote
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: dot org and register to vote and tell everybody you know,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: the vote. Those are my clothes remarks. Keep the faith, y'all.

- 1:25:30Speaker 1: That's it, well all right, thank you Sang Junior singer
