- 1:42Speaker 3: Turn? You probably got to turn the mouth, turn out
- 1:46Speaker 3: the water.
- 1:47Speaker 8: The mony cap, look me, come come on, you'll think that, Uh,
- 2:02Speaker 8: I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 9: You are listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 9: one and all its Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 2:13Speaker 9: particular me this morning. Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 2:18Speaker 9: filled with nothing but joy and hope about it too.
- 2:22Speaker 9: You know, it's a great thing to be able to
- 2:23Speaker 9: wake up in the morning with peace in your heart
- 2:26Speaker 9: and joy. Peace and joy is immeasurable. It has a
- 2:32Speaker 9: value attached to it, and I have no idea what
- 2:34Speaker 9: it is. It's invaluable. It is worth so much more
- 2:38Speaker 9: than any amount of money you can make. Peace and joy.
- 2:43Speaker 9: I have not always had that. I've not always been
- 2:48Speaker 9: a peaceful person or a person who lived his life
- 2:52Speaker 9: and enjoy spirit. It took an arrival at this moment.
- 2:56Speaker 9: Some people arrived sooner than others. I wish I had
- 3:01Speaker 9: arrived at this point sooner, but I think it was
- 3:05Speaker 9: necessary for me to learn a few things too. That's
- 3:09Speaker 9: the amazing thing I've learned about life is that instead
- 3:13Speaker 9: of reflecting on your past incidences and calling them failures,
- 3:19Speaker 9: instead of focusing on the negative and calling them bad times,
- 3:26Speaker 9: I look at them now as experiences. I had to
- 3:30Speaker 9: have those experiences that were negative, that were good, positive, wrong, evil.
- 3:36Speaker 9: I had to have all those experiences to become to
- 3:41Speaker 9: shape who.
- 3:43Speaker 2: We are today. We all have to have them.
- 3:46Speaker 9: If you look back at all the negative experiences you've had,
- 3:50Speaker 9: all the things that you called failures, all the businesses
- 3:54Speaker 9: I started that went under, all of the jobs I
- 3:57Speaker 9: had that I was fired from, all the shows that
- 4:00Speaker 9: were canceled, all of the times I thought I was
- 4:04Speaker 9: gonna get something happened in my way and turned out
- 4:07Speaker 9: I didn't get it at all.
- 4:08Speaker 2: When you look at.
- 4:09Speaker 9: All of it, all of it, hopefully along the way,
- 4:13Speaker 9: what you have done as a person is you've taken
- 4:16Speaker 9: those negatives and those failures and you've used them for
- 4:20Speaker 9: what they actually are. They are experiences, and they've now
- 4:25Speaker 9: created in you an experienced person, and you know that
- 4:31Speaker 9: is worth something that's then it becomes a positive. But
- 4:36Speaker 9: what too many people do is they let the negative
- 4:39Speaker 9: things that have happened in their life. They allow the
- 4:42Speaker 9: failures that have happened in them lives never to manifest
- 4:45Speaker 9: themselves as experiences.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And you sit up there.
- 4:49Speaker 9: And you dwell on it, and you dwell on it
- 4:51Speaker 9: until you have this woe is me attitude. Stop looking
- 4:55Speaker 9: at it like that, y'all. You go through things in
- 4:59Speaker 9: order to be come the person that you are today.
- 5:02Speaker 9: I tell you who you sometimes have to sit down
- 5:04Speaker 9: and talk to. Sometimes you ought to sit down to
- 5:06Speaker 9: an inmate that really gets it. An inmate that says, man,
- 5:11Speaker 9: I've actually heard inmates say it to me and write
- 5:14Speaker 9: to me, and they've said things like, man, come into prison,
- 5:18Speaker 9: save my life. Now, those of you have never got
- 5:20Speaker 9: how can he say a thing like that? But some
- 5:23Speaker 9: men know, man, I was so far out there that
- 5:27Speaker 9: if I'd have stayed out there, I wouldn't even be
- 5:29Speaker 9: here today. This actually allowed me to stop, spend some
- 5:32Speaker 9: time with myself and learn some things about me. Now
- 5:35Speaker 9: does that happen for everybody like that and all? But
- 5:38Speaker 9: here's a person who was taking an experience that could
- 5:41Speaker 9: be considered a failure or a negative and turn it
- 5:44Speaker 9: into a positive and using it to enrich their lives.
- 5:47Speaker 9: You can do it no matter what your set of
- 5:49Speaker 9: circumstances is. I recommend to everybody that you try changing
- 5:54Speaker 9: your outlook in order to change your outcome. Everything that
- 5:58Speaker 9: happens to you that's negative or you consider failure their experiences.
- 6:02Speaker 9: You've got to go through these things in order to
- 6:04Speaker 9: have the knowledge that you have today. So I wish
- 6:07Speaker 9: that I had come to this arrival that I'm in now,
- 6:10Speaker 9: this place of peace and joy, But then guess what
- 6:13Speaker 9: I will not know what I know. I couldnot share
- 6:17Speaker 9: some of the things that I'm able to share if
- 6:19Speaker 9: I had not gone through some of them. And sometimes
- 6:22Speaker 9: that's the purpose of them. It's to teach you a
- 6:24Speaker 9: lesson because you know, God has a plan for you,
- 6:27Speaker 9: He really really does. And eventually he can use you
- 6:30Speaker 9: no matter how old you are, and he can use
- 6:33Speaker 9: you no matter how young you are. If you just say, okay,
- 6:36Speaker 9: I'm ready to hear your plan. I've tried mine, mine
- 6:39Speaker 9: ain't worked out. What's your plan for me?
- 6:42Speaker 2: God? What do you want me to do?
- 6:45Speaker 9: That's why I say every day Steve already got radio show, y'all. Cause, man,
- 6:49Speaker 9: I ain't see it coming. I didn't see that coming.
- 6:51Speaker 9: I ain't see this book coming.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I ain't.
- 6:53Speaker 9: I ain't seen half of the amazing things that are
- 6:56Speaker 9: happened to me. I didn't plan them. I was sitting
- 6:59Speaker 9: down and asking God for some direction. And then I
- 7:03Speaker 9: got smart enough to stay watchful, be a hard worker
- 7:07Speaker 9: now because faithful, our works is dead, and it came.
- 7:10Speaker 9: And I'll remind you of this. God has given all
- 7:12Speaker 9: of you a gift. Every last one of you listening
- 7:15Speaker 9: has a gift. God has never created a soul that
- 7:18Speaker 9: he did not provide a gift to. God gives everyone
- 7:22Speaker 9: a gift, and a gift is not just singing, rapping entertainment.
- 7:27Speaker 9: The richer gifts are much more than that. Teachers are gifted,
- 7:31Speaker 9: people who really have the gift of sharing information. That's
- 7:34Speaker 9: a gift, you know, and in that you can become great.
- 7:40Speaker 9: You know, a lot of people think that successful and
- 7:45Speaker 9: greatness is the same thing. Cornell West said it at
- 7:49Speaker 9: my daughter's graduation. He was a spokesperson. He said something
- 7:52Speaker 9: so pointed. He said, don't ever confuse success with greatness.
- 7:57Speaker 9: The two have nothing to do with each other. See
- 8:00Speaker 9: people determine success about money and fame and all this here,
- 8:03Speaker 9: but greatness. Greatness ain't got nothing to do with your money.
- 8:07Speaker 9: It ain't got nothing to do with your fame. It's
- 8:09Speaker 9: how you conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant
- 8:13Speaker 9: you become in your community, at your church, on your job,
- 8:18Speaker 9: to the cub Scout unit that you run, to the
- 8:20Speaker 9: little girl's lives that you change, that that little center
- 8:23Speaker 9: in the hood where you just one place of hope
- 8:27Speaker 9: to so many people and they come back. And I
- 8:29Speaker 9: used the example of lou Danzler who passed away in
- 8:32Speaker 9: La who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club out
- 8:35Speaker 9: in La And he wasn't a rich man at all,
- 8:38Speaker 9: and if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know
- 8:39Speaker 9: who he was. But if you look at all the
- 8:41Speaker 9: people who have gone on to become politicians, who have
- 8:45Speaker 9: gone on to become CEOs, who have gone on to
- 8:48Speaker 9: become athletes, that have passed through this man's small building
- 8:52Speaker 9: in the hood in La, he was great. Trust me, man,
- 8:57Speaker 9: Pray changes things. I said at all the time. But
- 8:59Speaker 9: when you see people become successful or great, that somebody
- 9:02Speaker 9: praying somewhere may not even be them.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Maybe it's they. Mama.
- 9:06Speaker 9: You know, I think of Tiger Woods and all the
- 9:08Speaker 9: greatness he's accomplished. You know, they always talk about his
- 9:11Speaker 9: father and all this. Here somebody somewhere praying for Tiger Woods.
- 9:16Speaker 9: I got cash money riding on that Tiger Woods. Mama
- 9:19Speaker 9: is a praying woman or something. My mother was. She
- 9:22Speaker 9: prayed me into this place because she used to call
- 9:24Speaker 9: me all the time praying for you. Boy, and prayer
- 9:28Speaker 9: changes things. It really does. Try it today. It can
- 9:31Speaker 9: change you. It has changed millions of people. Open up
- 9:35Speaker 9: yourself to the greatness that's in you, because God is
- 9:38Speaker 9: giving you a gift matter fact that you ain't using it.
- 9:41Speaker 9: Who fought you think that is? I'm just telling you
- 9:44Speaker 9: you got one, and if you start praying about it,
- 9:47Speaker 9: it'll manifest itself and you can become one or two things,
- 9:51Speaker 9: successful or great or both.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You can make the decision.
- 9:57Speaker 10: Today you're listening to the Steve every Morning Show.
- 10:05Speaker 9: Ladies and gentlemen, Boys and girls, welcome to the ride.

- 11:09Speaker 11: you about this up because you said this, you know,
- 11:12Speaker 11: you know, you said God be having your name in
- 11:15Speaker 11: rooms you ain't even heard yet. And my question is
- 11:19Speaker 11: where these rules act? And I don't know which one
- 11:21Speaker 11: my name is in because I know it's a blessing
- 11:23Speaker 11: I need right now, where y'all where you heard your

- 11:41Speaker 9: this First of all, the favor that God has given
- 11:44Speaker 9: you is incredible.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Do you know how many people's life you touch?
- 11:47Speaker 9: Who has sickle sell you?
- 11:50Speaker 2: You get talked about in the rooms and you don't
- 11:53Speaker 2: even know nothing about it.
- 11:54Speaker 9: When you do that run out there in Houston every
- 11:57Speaker 9: year and you give all that money kid, kill care,
- 12:00Speaker 9: hope care, whatever it is, and then you go to
- 12:04Speaker 9: the hospitals and visit them kids.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Dog, they talk about you.
- 12:08Speaker 9: When you ain't knowing, when you ain't even around them. Yeah, man, dog,
- 12:13Speaker 9: You've been in so many rooms. I had a conversation
- 12:15Speaker 9: with you with the dude named doctor Corey. And you
- 12:18Speaker 9: don't even know nothing about that, do you No, sir?
- 12:21Speaker 2: You was in a room with.
- 12:22Speaker 9: A guy that's a specialist, and I was in that

- 16:14Speaker 5: You use you because you hater.
- 16:17Speaker 13: Hater, That's why you ain't getting no invite. I said,
- 16:21Speaker 13: you're a hater.

- 17:24Speaker 13: a party with my size twelve right up in your.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Hey, dude, it is what it is. It is what
- 17:31Speaker 5: I look for the police to be at your party,
- 17:34Speaker 5: all right, look for the people. Look for the police
- 17:37Speaker 5: to be at your party, because evidently you don't respect
- 17:40Speaker 5: your neighbors. It's what it is now.
- 17:42Speaker 13: You know what I do respect my neighbors because all
- 17:44Speaker 13: the neighbors in the neighborhood come except for you, because
- 17:46Speaker 13: we already know you're on You're on that list. Yet
- 17:49Speaker 13: I hate neighbor that be calling toe trucks and you know,
- 17:53Speaker 13: complaining about leaves in your yard and all that. You.
- 17:56Speaker 13: I know exactly who you are. That's why you never
- 17:58Speaker 13: got an invite to the party.
- 18:00Speaker 5: You do not even know me, dude. You use the
- 18:03Speaker 5: idea who I am use a buster? Use that Okay,
- 18:08Speaker 5: all right, I'm but I'm gonna be the buster that's
- 18:10Speaker 5: calling popoles to be over there on Sunday.
- 18:13Speaker 13: Listen, snitch snitching an I t h.
- 18:18Speaker 5: That ain't that ain't that's not snitching. No, it's controlling
- 18:23Speaker 5: the atmosphere and stopping it from being out of control.
- 18:26Speaker 5: You are especially, let me ask you something. So so
- 18:30Speaker 5: you think people that's going to your party ought to
- 18:32Speaker 5: be able to park in my driveway?
- 18:34Speaker 13: Listen, man, I'm gonna be real with you. I'm sorry
- 18:37Speaker 13: if anybody being parking your driveway, but nothing for you
- 18:40Speaker 13: to just knock on the door and say, hey, excuse me.
- 18:42Speaker 13: You know I'm trying to get out, you know whatever, whatever,
- 18:45Speaker 13: I make sure I put it on the fires that
- 18:48Speaker 13: we don't want people blocking driveways. But you know, obviously
- 18:51Speaker 13: it happened, and I apologize for that. But that's no
- 18:53Speaker 13: reason for you to be going on extra crazy and
- 18:56Speaker 13: going to extra mind talking about I'm calling the police.
- 18:59Speaker 13: You ain't calling nobody, man, Shut up. That right there
- 19:02Speaker 13: is what's wrong with black people today. Instead of coming
- 19:04Speaker 13: to me like a man, you coming to me like
- 19:07Speaker 13: a coward. Instead of coming to me like a man
- 19:09Speaker 13: and saying listen now, you know, because the first thing
- 19:12Speaker 13: you're talking about, oh, I'm gonna call the police, and
- 19:15Speaker 13: then when the police come and beat your black mass up,
- 19:18Speaker 13: you're gonna be on the other line complaining and talk
- 19:20Speaker 13: about what you want to be suing and doing this
- 19:23Speaker 13: and that, don't you know that's how you get up, man.
- 19:27Speaker 13: So as black people, we got to learn how to
- 19:29Speaker 13: stick together and come together. If you want to come
- 19:31Speaker 13: to the party, it sounds like you're silent hater on
- 19:34Speaker 13: the loaf for real, like you really want to come
- 19:35Speaker 13: to the party. But because you're the only person in
- 19:37Speaker 13: the neighborhood that hasn't been invited. Now you're talking about
- 19:40Speaker 13: calling the police. I know exactly who you are.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Who am I You? That dude that live up two
- 19:46Speaker 5: three streets over and you drive that that red pickup
- 19:49Speaker 5: truck with the flannel shirts and all of that. You're
- 19:52Speaker 5: the only person in the hood driving a red pickup
- 19:55Speaker 5: truck in flannel.
- 19:56Speaker 13: What's wrong with you? Man? That's why you ain't getting
- 19:58Speaker 13: no invite. And on top of that, all those dogs
- 20:00Speaker 13: you got running around in your backyard, you need to
- 20:02Speaker 13: clean them up. They'd be back there and and everything.
- 20:06Speaker 13: And then the other neighbors can't even have barbecues because
- 20:08Speaker 13: you're big, rusty dogs running around. You got a nerve
- 20:11Speaker 13: to be talking about you calling the police when we
- 20:14Speaker 13: need to be calling the city on you. All that
- 20:16Speaker 13: trash and you got in front of your house. Man,
- 20:18Speaker 13: get out of here. I'm gonna call the cops on
- 20:20Speaker 13: you right now. But if you ain't wearing the flannel
- 20:23Speaker 13: shirts and with the bread pickup truck and the dogs
- 20:25Speaker 13: running around with follow in the front yard and the
- 20:27Speaker 13: backyard and all over the place, fool are you tell.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Me say no more? I'm gonna tell you who I am.
- 20:34Speaker 5: This is nephew Tommy from the Steve Harby Morning Show. Yop,
- 20:38Speaker 5: just got pranked by your next dough neighbor, Brian. That's
- 20:42Speaker 5: who I am. You know what, you know what?
- 20:52Speaker 13: You know what now I'm definitely gonna kick you in
- 20:56Speaker 13: his You have me going, man.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I hope when I run this prank, I hope the
- 21:04Speaker 5: man with the red pickup truck and the flannel sway
- 21:07Speaker 5: that ain't listening to it? All right, man, I got
- 21:13Speaker 5: one more thing. You gotta tell me what's the baddest
- 21:16Speaker 5: and I mean the baddest radio show in the land Man.

- 22:25Speaker 10: got arrested for hitting her mom with a pork chop.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Plus what uh yeah, yes, we'll talk about it.
- 22:34Speaker 10: It's all coming up at the time of the hour, right,
- 22:38Speaker 10: exactly right. Now it's time to ask the CLO our

- 22:45Speaker 1: Ready, cno, yes.
- 22:48Speaker 10: All right, here we go. This is from Alicia in Orlando.
- 22:51Speaker 10: Alicia writes, my husband took my phone when he went
- 22:54Speaker 10: out for a run. He said his phone died and
- 22:57Speaker 10: he couldn't go out without a phone. He would absolutely
- 23:00Speaker 10: die if I ever took his phone. How do I
- 23:03Speaker 10: tell him that was foul without him thinking I'm hiding something?
- 23:08Speaker 2: He took your phone.
- 23:10Speaker 9: Why won't you just tell him that if you're not
- 23:13Speaker 9: hiding nothing, just say, hey, look, you can't take my
- 23:16Speaker 9: phone to get a vulnerable charge or do something. Charge
- 23:21Speaker 9: your phone up for twenty minutes, then go run do that.
- 23:25Speaker 9: Y'all gotta communicate with your husband and wife.
- 23:28Speaker 2: What is these conversations you can't have with your husband

- 23:36Speaker 2: See what? Yeah?
- 23:40Speaker 1: More all right?
- 23:44Speaker 10: Moving on to Tracy and Charleston, who writes, I was
- 23:48Speaker 10: on a date and my ex husband came over to
- 23:51Speaker 10: the table and introduced himself to my date as my
- 23:55Speaker 10: ex X and he told the guy he better treat
- 23:58Speaker 10: me right. My date told me that was our last date?
- 24:02Speaker 10: How do I get my ex to leave me alone
- 24:04Speaker 10: and move on?
- 24:06Speaker 13: What?
- 24:06Speaker 9: Yeah? That dude say, Hey, this is our last date.

- 24:18Speaker 2: You better right?

- 24:24Speaker 9: And let me tell you something, man, you better treat
- 24:26Speaker 9: it right, okay, or that dude went, let me get
- 24:29Speaker 9: on out of here before I get shot?
- 24:33Speaker 2: Right?

- 24:55Speaker 9: I'm out.
- 24:56Speaker 7: Yeah, we will tell you the old spot, y'all's old

- 25:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that dude said, right there, he won, and
- 25:19Speaker 2: you better treat her right.
- 25:21Speaker 10: Moving on to Robert in Manhattan, Robert writes, I was
- 25:25Speaker 10: having sex with my wife and she fell asleep. Her
- 25:29Speaker 10: only defense was that she told me up front that
- 25:32Speaker 10: she wasn't in the mood, but she did it for me.
- 25:36Speaker 10: What's going on with my wife?
- 25:38Speaker 1: Why would she go? Why is she do with your wife?
- 25:44Speaker 1: If she didn't want this?
- 25:45Speaker 2: Ain't got this?
- 25:46Speaker 9: Ain't got nothing to do with your wife, Homie. I
- 25:51Speaker 9: can't tell you the little effect you are having when
- 25:57Speaker 9: they go to sleep.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Bro, what is she that tired?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Bro? You ain't you ain't doing nothing?
- 26:09Speaker 9: Go ahead, go ahead, I'm sleep. I told you I
- 26:15Speaker 9: didn't want to. I just did it for you. But
- 26:17Speaker 9: why you was doing it? I went to sleep?
- 26:20Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 26:21Speaker 9: Hey, bro, you can. I'm gonna just tell your pardon.
- 26:23Speaker 9: You got to pick up your performance. You gotta do better.
- 26:32Speaker 9: You're not going to sleep based off the noise I'm
- 26:34Speaker 9: making on how to hear you're gonna go to sleep?
- 26:36Speaker 2: All this hollering I'm in here doing.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Let me ask you this.
- 26:39Speaker 10: Why did he not even consider that it could be
- 26:43Speaker 10: him that made her fall asleep?
- 26:46Speaker 2: Is he goose? And wrote in.
- 26:51Speaker 9: This is how disconnected he is. It can't possibly be me.
- 26:57Speaker 10: Right, no way earth Uh huh yeah, yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Because he wrote in right, Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 1: You're Robert Roberts in Manhattan.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Bro.

- 27:12Speaker 10: Robert in Manhattan. It's a dude for sure.
- 27:15Speaker 5: You know.
- 27:17Speaker 2: He wrote this letter that night. He was so convinced.
- 27:24Speaker 9: He got up, went in the bathroom, and he went
- 27:27Speaker 9: down on his computers. And I'm gonna tell Steve, old
- 27:30Speaker 9: her she just going to sleep and stuff, sitting up
- 27:34Speaker 9: in here sleeping while I'm in here doing my bed,
- 27:36Speaker 9: talking about she ain't want to and all this hell
- 27:40Speaker 9: and doing it for me hard enough by you ain't
- 27:44Speaker 9: doing nothing.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Nope, all right, last one.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Whole term, you ain't busting great?
- 27:50Speaker 10: Uh that that applies, last one, Steve.
- 27:56Speaker 1: It's from Jared and Albuquerque.
- 27:58Speaker 10: Jared writes, I'm going on a work trip in February
- 28:02Speaker 10: and my new girlfriend is worried because I met her
- 28:06Speaker 10: on one.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Of my work trips.
- 28:08Speaker 10: I want to assure her that it was meant for
- 28:11Speaker 10: us to meet, and I don't go out of my
- 28:13Speaker 10: way to meet ladies.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Is her insecurity? A red flag?
- 28:18Speaker 2: No, don't. That's a valid point.
- 28:22Speaker 1: That's how, that's a valid point.
- 28:24Speaker 2: She know, thats how y'all met. If you want to
- 28:26Speaker 2: squash all this, take on take a witch.
- 28:31Speaker 1: On a work trip though, Yeah, what a hell?
- 28:37Speaker 9: You know you gotta when he met her on the
- 28:39Speaker 9: work trip, wasn't he off work?
- 28:45Speaker 10: So take his girlfriend on the work trip and then
- 28:49Speaker 10: she won't have to worry.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah, be insecure about it?
- 28:52Speaker 9: Is this a red flag? And she insecured? Bro, that's
- 28:56Speaker 9: how she met you. It's like it's like if you
- 29:00Speaker 9: married and then you cheat with your side ship and
- 29:04Speaker 9: then you get a divorce and y'all in a relationship.
- 29:07Speaker 2: You don't think she thought about that? Mm hmmm, right, man?

- 29:26Speaker 9: You know, you know sometimes they let their heart overrule
- 29:29Speaker 9: what they know. They mind is telling them sometimes they
- 29:31Speaker 9: do that. But let me tell you something. Don't play
- 29:37Speaker 9: with them.
- 29:38Speaker 1: They just take her by the tic.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Bruh. I've tried everything with them.
- 29:46Speaker 1: None of it works.
- 29:51Speaker 2: What did you try?
- 29:52Speaker 1: One thing you tried that didn't work?
- 29:55Speaker 11: You know lies to.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how many.
- 30:01Speaker 9: A lot of them have worked, but the line, all right,
- 30:08Speaker 9: you can't quite make the cut.
- 30:11Speaker 1: All right, let's at it.
- 30:13Speaker 2: You got to keep practicing.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You learn from goodness. Okay, perfect, coming up?

- 56:37Speaker 10: right here, right now, and you never know it could
- 56:39Speaker 10: be yours. You just never know.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Buckle up and hold on type. We got it for
- 56:43Speaker 2: you here. It is the Strawberry letter.
- 56:46Speaker 10: Yeah, he's at work today, Thank you, nephew. Subject I
- 56:51Speaker 10: hate all of his family and friends. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 56:56Speaker 10: my boyfriend of two years has been talking about marriage,
- 56:59Speaker 10: but I hate all of his family and friends. We're
- 57:02Speaker 10: both thirty three years old and we met online. I
- 57:05Speaker 10: got offered a job promotion and a transfer to the
- 57:07Speaker 10: city where my boyfriend grew up. We decided I'd take
- 57:10Speaker 10: the job and we get married, so we relocated to
- 57:14Speaker 10: the city that he grew up in. We bought a
- 57:16Speaker 10: house within a week of moving, and it all happened quickly.
- 57:20Speaker 10: After we got settled, he decided it was time for
- 57:22Speaker 10: me to meet his parents. They don't live together, but
- 57:26Speaker 10: they are married. He said, it's complicated. I thought it
- 57:29Speaker 10: was strange that I'd never met them, but he always said,
- 57:32Speaker 10: there's no rush.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Now I know why.
- 57:35Speaker 10: So here's what happened to make me hate everyone. We
- 57:38Speaker 10: invited everyone out to dinner, and the only way to
- 57:42Speaker 10: get his family to go was to agree to go
- 57:44Speaker 10: to a buffet restaurant. I don't like eating at buffets,
- 57:48Speaker 10: and it's not because I'm bougie. It's because I got
- 57:51Speaker 10: very sick one time from eating at a buffet, and
- 57:54Speaker 10: that has scarred me for life. Two of my boyfriend,
- 57:57Speaker 10: two of my boyfriend's childhood friends came to dinner with us,
- 58:00Speaker 10: along with his mom, dad, sister, and a sister's four children.
- 58:04Speaker 10: His homeboy smelled like they work at a weed factory
- 58:07Speaker 10: and they were wrapping illicit lyrics at the table. His
- 58:10Speaker 10: parents got into an argument because his dad called his
- 58:13Speaker 10: mom a trick and she flipped him off. I won't
- 58:17Speaker 10: even mention the four little, filthy children that were running
- 58:20Speaker 10: all around the restaurant. My boyfriend pay the bill for
- 58:24Speaker 10: all these grown people, and he looks so embarrassed.
- 58:27Speaker 1: He's whispered that he hopes this isn't a deal breaker.
- 58:31Speaker 10: I don't want any of these people to ever come
- 58:33Speaker 10: to our house, But how do I tell him that
- 58:36Speaker 10: he's not at all like them? So do you think
- 58:39Speaker 10: he will understand if I'm honest, Well, yeah, I think
- 58:43Speaker 10: he'll understand.
- 58:44Speaker 1: But I don't think you should tell him that.
- 58:47Speaker 10: You definitely can't tell him in that way that you
- 58:49Speaker 10: don't ever want them to come to your house. You
- 58:53Speaker 10: got to remember you're marrying him and not his family,
- 58:55Speaker 10: and we know you hate all of them and you
- 58:59Speaker 10: don't care for them. But like I said, please don't
- 59:01Speaker 10: tell him that. I mean, you can think of other
- 59:04Speaker 10: ways to say it, you know, or if they're come
- 59:07Speaker 10: or if they're coming over you know you're busy, or
- 59:09Speaker 10: whatever the situation. I mean, there are still his family
- 59:12Speaker 10: no matter what. The great part, you know, look at
- 59:15Speaker 10: the positive. He wanted you to meet them. Okay, it
- 59:17Speaker 10: was about time you met his family. And that's pretty
- 59:20Speaker 10: big because here's a man taking you to.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Meet his family.
- 59:23Speaker 10: A lot of times that's what we want. To meet
- 59:25Speaker 10: his family and to see you know where he comes from.
- 59:27Speaker 10: So that means he, you know, wants you to be
- 59:29Speaker 10: a part of his family. Okay, so that's a good thing.
- 59:33Speaker 10: He is embarrassed by them, though, he is embarrassed, and
- 59:37Speaker 10: it doesn't sound like they'll be coming around because he's
- 59:39Speaker 10: embarrassed and it took you a while to meet them
- 59:41Speaker 10: in the first place. He knows how they are because
- 59:44Speaker 10: he said he hoped you weren't. They weren't a deal
- 59:47Speaker 10: breaker meeting them. So we can't pick our family members,
- 59:51Speaker 10: we know that, but we can decide how we deal
- 59:54Speaker 10: with them. So you decide, You make the decisions. Of
- 59:57Speaker 10: you know, if and when they come to your house
- 59:59Speaker 10: and how that's going to play out and all that.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:00:01Speaker 10: Otherwise, if you love this man, you know you're gonna
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: have to deal with his family at some point. So
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: you know your options are to what sell your new
- 1:00:10Speaker 10: house that you just bought in the town he grew
- 1:00:12Speaker 10: grew up in. I doubt if that's gonna happen, you know,
- 1:00:16Speaker 10: because you guys just bought it.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: The housing market is crazy all that.
- 1:00:21Speaker 10: The other thing is, you know, you guys can build
- 1:00:23Speaker 10: a life together, you know when you do get married.
- 1:00:26Speaker 10: Sounds like you're headed in that direction. This is the
- 1:00:28Speaker 10: man you love, build a life you together with this
- 1:00:31Speaker 10: man and have minimal contact with his family. Don't invite
- 1:00:35Speaker 10: them over, Steve.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: This one is interesting.
- 1:00:40Speaker 9: Everybody got some family members in their own family that
- 1:00:48Speaker 9: they don't really care for. So I can only imagine
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: that there's gonna be some people in their family, your spouse, mate,
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: for a friend, fiance, whatever, in their family that you're
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: not gonna like. Now, y'all been together two years, you
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: moving kind of quickie, thirty three years old. You met online,
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: but you know this was the dude. You know, y'all
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: got a job, you got off of a promotion. You
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: transferred to the city where your boyfriend grew up. You say,
- 1:01:23Speaker 9: right at the top, I hate all his family and friends,
- 1:01:27Speaker 9: every last one of them. We decided to take the
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: job that you got off of the promotion in we'd
- 1:01:33Speaker 9: get married. So we relocated to the city that he
- 1:01:36Speaker 9: grew up in. We bought a house within a week
- 1:01:38Speaker 9: of moving. It all happened quickly, and then right after
- 1:01:42Speaker 9: y'all got centered, he decided, who's time for me to
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: meet his parents. Now hit the tricky part. They don't
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: live together, but they're married. He said, it's complicated. We'll
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: get into that in a minute. I thought it was
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: strange that I never met them, but he always said,
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: ain't no rush because he knew he loved you.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: He can't let you meet his other side because you
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: ain't gonna understand it.
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: Now he's different. He knew this was coming. Here's what
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: happened that made me hate everyone. Wow, we invited everybody
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: out to dinner, and the only way to get his
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: family to go was to agree to a buffet restaurant. Now,
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: right here, we're talking about size.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Now size or sides?
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Size?
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: Okay, when the whole family insists the only way we
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: going out is got to be buffet.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: This ain't the first time they'd have made that decision.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: This is a family thing.
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: And if you go to buffets a lot, you have
- 1:02:53Speaker 9: some size on you. You'll get into the rest of
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: it when we come back.
- 1:02:58Speaker 10: People talking about well Steve Harvey's response coming up at
- 1:03:03Speaker 10: twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Okay, the subject of today's strawberry letter I.
- 1:03:08Speaker 10: Hate all of his family and friends. We'll get back
- 1:03:11Speaker 10: into it right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hey,
- 1:03:20Speaker 10: it's Carla Ferroll. Kick that old mop and bucket aside.
- 1:03:23Speaker 10: Are you ready for a mop and bucket clean in
- 1:03:26Speaker 10: half the time? Make the swap to Swiffer Power Mop.
- 1:03:30Speaker 12: The all in one cleaning Hero has a built in
- 1:03:32Speaker 12: solution that breaks down dirt and grime like magic. With

- 1:03:40Speaker 12: messes with ease. Plus it'll leave your home smelling great
- 1:03:44Speaker 12: for hours after cleaning. Get yours today and mop smarter
- 1:03:47Speaker 12: with the Swiffer Power Mop.
- 1:03:49Speaker 10: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter
- 1:03:52Speaker 10: and finish up your response.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Today's subject is I hate all of his family and friends.
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: You know, like I said, this is gonna be rough
- 1:04:00Speaker 9: because everybody got some family members they don't care for.
- 1:04:03Speaker 9: So once you get into a relationship with somebody else,
- 1:04:05Speaker 9: they gonna have some family members you don't care for.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: But your hatred for them came all at once. This
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: is why you hate.
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: You hate met him but one time, and you have
- 1:04:16Speaker 9: reached the conclusion that you hate all of them, everybody
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: you know. Now y'all have moved together, y'all relocated, y'all
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: bought a house. Y'all then moved in it. You got settled.
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: He told you it wasn't no rush to meet his parents.
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: Now you thought it was a little bit strange, but
- 1:04:35Speaker 9: he knew because this could be a deal break.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: First of all, they his parents, but they don't live together.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: We're gonna get into that.
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: As to why I figured this out in the letter,
- 1:04:49Speaker 9: here's what happened to make me hate everyone. We invited
- 1:04:52Speaker 9: everybody out to dinner. The only way to get his
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: family to go was to agree to go into a
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: buffet restaurant.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Now, when everybody say we have to go to a
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: buffet restaurant.
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: It's because they need more brought to the table, and
- 1:05:10Speaker 9: they want us to go get their own portion sizes
- 1:05:14Speaker 9: because they're unhappy with the portions and choices of the menu.
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: Some people like their gravy or run into their potato salad.
- 1:05:25Speaker 9: They won't they ham laying on top of their greens.
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: You gotta be able to go and fix your own plate.
- 1:05:31Speaker 9: These is big people we talking about now, And I
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: know they big people because they've decided.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: As a unit, we ain't going nowhere. Let's it's a buffet.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: These is big people.
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: Now.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: I'm just gonna tell you you don't like my answer,
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 1:05:47Speaker 9: I've come to the conclusion in this strawberry letter this
- 1:05:51Speaker 9: is a place full of big people that I've prove it.
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: I don't like eating the buffets because I'm not bullgies,
- 1:05:57Speaker 9: just because I'm very sad. I got sick one time
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: from eating a faith and that has scarved.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Me from life.
- 1:06:02Speaker 9: Nothing stops big people from eating out of buffet. They
- 1:06:06Speaker 9: had all been sick. They had all seen people pick
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: over the food. They didn't seen people talk under the
- 1:06:12Speaker 9: shield while they're getting their food. But big people can
- 1:06:16Speaker 9: they they have seen the sneezes. They have done all
- 1:06:20Speaker 9: that they coughed. They but big people don't give it
- 1:06:24Speaker 9: because buffets is for big people. Two of his childhood
- 1:06:28Speaker 9: friends came. They smell like a weed factor. That's because
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: they smoke weed. Thus the other reason we got to
- 1:06:37Speaker 9: go to a buffet cause we got the munchies.
- 1:06:40Speaker 10: Man.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: See this buffet is all coming together now, and they were.
- 1:06:48Speaker 9: Rapping explicit lyrics at the table. Hell because they high.
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: You thirty three, all his friends is all want to
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: be rappers that ain't never made it now at the
- 1:06:59Speaker 9: table rapping explicit lyrics because they.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: High and they hungry.
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: His parents got in the argument because her dad called
- 1:07:08Speaker 9: his mama a trick and she flipped him off. Nah,
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: we're getting into why they don't live together. Real big
- 1:07:17Speaker 9: people don't like staying together because it ain't a lot
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: of room. They at the buffet, they can't stay in
- 1:07:26Speaker 9: each other. See, the argument was a flip off, because
- 1:07:28Speaker 9: that's all she had the energy for.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: She was big.
- 1:07:32Speaker 9: She'd the guy up, walk around there and saying what
- 1:07:34Speaker 9: you say. But she crossed the table. She couldn't get up,
- 1:07:37Speaker 9: so she just flipped him off because she big. She
- 1:07:40Speaker 9: at the table, and that's and he knew she wasn't
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: gonna get up. That's why he called her a trick
- 1:07:44Speaker 9: in front of everybody. But he got the trick from
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: the two little rapper friends because they was probably doing
- 1:07:50Speaker 9: a trick, Daddy son.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: This is terrible.
- 1:07:54Speaker 9: See how it's working out right now. I put all
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: this together. They were doing a trick, daddy raps. So
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: that's where he got the turn trick from because he
- 1:08:03Speaker 9: didn't know it. Yeah, she didn't want to mention the
- 1:08:07Speaker 9: four little filthy kids. And I know they filthy because
- 1:08:10Speaker 9: fat people don't like bathing other people kids.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Is filthy? Yeah, because the people ain't got no time
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: to be watching them kids.
- 1:08:19Speaker 9: That's got being over the bathtub, breathing, losing your breath
- 1:08:22Speaker 9: and all this here. So just put some calls on
- 1:08:25Speaker 9: these little filthy kids and let them run round. My
- 1:08:28Speaker 9: boyfriend paid the bill for all these grown people. He
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: looks so embarrassed. He whispered that he hopes this isn't
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: a deal breaker. I don't want any of these people
- 1:08:37Speaker 9: to come over to our house. But how do I
- 1:08:39Speaker 9: tell him that he's not at all like them? So
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: do you think he will understand if I'm honest. What
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: Sureley said, you shouldn't be honest, and I can understand that,
- 1:08:47Speaker 9: and I respect that too, but you're gonna have to
- 1:08:49Speaker 9: be honest. But if you don't want to be honest,
- 1:08:51Speaker 9: there's some things you can do to keep that out
- 1:08:55Speaker 9: of your house. First of all, you let it be
- 1:08:59Speaker 9: known that none of your meals would be served buffet style.
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: That's the first thing. We don't put no plates out
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: where you can go around, scoop your own.
- 1:09:12Speaker 10: No.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: That'll keep their big out the house right there.
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: And then secondly, when they come over, tell them that
- 1:09:20Speaker 9: they have to select off a pre determined menu what
- 1:09:24Speaker 9: they want to eat when they come over. That fat
- 1:09:26Speaker 9: people don't like that, they not coming, and you can
- 1:09:30Speaker 9: keep them people out your house for.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Years like that.
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: For you look at the time or every time you
- 1:09:37Speaker 9: have a family gathering, canny big right back down to
- 1:09:40Speaker 9: that buffet and deal with it and then just go home.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: All right, Well, please set us up on Instagram and

- 1:25:49Speaker 11: call me the comeback kid up. I appreciate that, but
- 1:25:54Speaker 11: you know what, uncom it's just not me. Everybody has
- 1:25:57Speaker 11: a comeback ump, and I think we don't understand the
- 1:25:59Speaker 11: process coming back. I know, for me with his foreign
- 1:26:02Speaker 11: coming back.
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: From sickle cell Cris from sickle cell Christ.
- 1:26:05Speaker 11: But what about it in just your personal life coming back?
- 1:26:12Speaker 9: Well, for me, coming back is living proof that God
- 1:26:18Speaker 9: is still in your life, that God is still ever present.
- 1:26:25Speaker 9: Every time I come back, it's a reminder that He
- 1:26:29Speaker 9: got me. Every time I fall and get back up,
- 1:26:35Speaker 9: every time I've laid in it too long, every time
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: I've recovered from anything, every time I watch other people recover.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: It just lets me know that God still cares.
- 1:26:52Speaker 9: I mean, look, man, if you come back from anything,
- 1:26:56Speaker 9: like you know, when you lose a loved one and
- 1:26:58Speaker 9: you grieve and and it feels like it's the end
- 1:27:00Speaker 9: of the world for you. Somehow you survived that. You
- 1:27:08Speaker 9: don't think that was God.
- 1:27:10Speaker 15: I do.
- 1:27:12Speaker 9: Every time you break up with somebody and your heart
- 1:27:15Speaker 9: is broken and you feel like your life is in
- 1:27:17Speaker 9: shambles and in pieces, and you can't believe you got
- 1:27:20Speaker 9: done that way or deceived that way, or you can't
- 1:27:23Speaker 9: believe it's over. You happened real suddenly, or you didn't
- 1:27:25Speaker 9: see it coming, but you survive it, and you don't
- 1:27:31Speaker 9: think that was God.
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: I do.
- 1:27:35Speaker 9: Ever had a TV show counsel, ever had two of them,
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: counsel Ever had your whole TV career counsel at one time,
- 1:27:43Speaker 9: and somehow.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: I came back and got some more. You don't think
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: that was God.
- 1:27:52Speaker 13: I do.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: When you lose everything you have for whatever the reason.
- 1:27:57Speaker 9: You lost the job, you lost the com you lost
- 1:28:01Speaker 9: somebody and you end up losing all of your worldly possessions,
- 1:28:06Speaker 9: your money and everything.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: And now look at you, now you're back on your feet.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: You don't think that was God? I do. And you
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: know why I keep using examples like that.
- 1:28:20Speaker 9: I keep saying I do because when I can't explain
- 1:28:24Speaker 9: something that's happening in my life that all of a
- 1:28:26Speaker 9: sudden starts going right, and I can't explain it.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: As usually God because somethings.
- 1:28:34Speaker 9: Sometimes, some things happen to you you can't even take
- 1:28:37Speaker 9: credit for because He don't want you to see. Sometimes
- 1:28:41Speaker 9: God wants you to realize that it's really Him that
- 1:28:44Speaker 9: you need. So what he'll do is and oh, I'm
- 1:28:47Speaker 9: finna talk about myself. Now here we go, Here we go,
- 1:28:50Speaker 9: Here we go, here we go.
