- 2:40Speaker 1: him my good friend from Texas US centor Tech Cruise. Senator,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I appreciate you coming on my show and I'm so
- 2:47Speaker 1: excited about doing this new podcast with you, Verdict three
- 2:50Speaker 1: days a week. Well, Ben, it is great to be
- 2:54Speaker 1: on your show right now, and I'm really looking forward
- 2:57Speaker 1: to our joining together in Verdict. We've been doing it
- 3:02Speaker 1: now just about three years and it's been great. Fund
- 3:05Speaker 1: The podcast was the number one ranked podcast in the world,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and it has been a tremendous experience of really trying
- 3:14Speaker 1: to take people behind closed doors, behind the curtain and
- 3:19Speaker 1: to understand what's really going on. What's going on in
- 3:21Speaker 1: the United States Senate, what's going on in the Capitol,
- 3:24Speaker 1: what's going on in the White House, what's going on
- 3:26Speaker 1: with foreign policy, what's going on with the economy, What
- 3:29Speaker 1: does all this stuff mean, and it's been you know.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We launched the podcast January three years ago, and it
- 3:38Speaker 1: was the very first night of the first impeachment trial,
- 3:43Speaker 1: and I spent the whole day on the Senate floor
- 3:46Speaker 1: as one of one hundred jurors in the impeachment trial.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And the trial wrapped up about midnight one in the morning,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and so I jumped at a truck and headed over
- 3:55Speaker 1: to the studio and recorded the very first episode of
- 3:58Speaker 1: Verdict that night. We put it out immediately, and we
- 4:03Speaker 1: did that every single night of the impeachment trial, and
- 4:06Speaker 1: it became real time commentary analysis explaining what's going on,
- 4:12Speaker 1: what is this all about? And you know, part of
- 4:15Speaker 1: the vision of the podcast was to have real substance.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I remember early on discussions and Verdict, some of the
- 4:22Speaker 1: team it was helping produce produce it said, well, dumb
- 4:25Speaker 1: it down a little more, it's too complex. And I
- 4:29Speaker 1: pressed back on that. I said, look, people don't want dumb.
- 4:32Speaker 1: They do want understandable. They want to know what you're
- 4:35Speaker 1: talking about. And the analogy I use is if you
- 4:38Speaker 1: go to the doctor and you've got some horrible disease,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you don't want the doctor to say, well, then you
- 4:43Speaker 1: got a boo boo. I mean, you want the doctor
- 4:45Speaker 1: to tell you, Okay, what's going on, tell me what
- 4:48Speaker 1: it is, but you don't want the answer to have
- 4:49Speaker 1: a bunch of medical jargon that you have to have
- 4:52Speaker 1: a medical degree to understand. So what we've tried to
- 4:54Speaker 1: do with Verdict is do the same thing. Take complex
- 4:57Speaker 1: issues and explain their real substance, but in a way
- 5:01Speaker 1: that you don't have to be an expert on any
- 5:03Speaker 1: of it to get it and know that's what's going on.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And I'm really excited you and I are going to
- 5:08Speaker 1: be doing that now three times a week for people
- 5:10Speaker 1: that may not have listened to your podcasts. This is
- 5:13Speaker 1: one of the best things about your your communications team
- 5:16Speaker 1: and your staff. You've made it easy. I was honored
- 5:19Speaker 1: and blessed to be with you in Vegas and got
- 5:21Speaker 1: to speak at your rally in Vegas on this bus
- 5:23Speaker 1: tour that you're doing, and I want to get into
- 5:25Speaker 1: that in a second, but we've made it easy for
- 5:27Speaker 1: people to grab Verdict now. You can obviously download it
- 5:29Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcasts, and like I said, we're
- 5:32Speaker 1: gonna be doing this three days a week, but you
- 5:34Speaker 1: can also just text grab your cell phone right now
- 5:38Speaker 1: wherever you are, and I want you sent her to
- 5:41Speaker 1: give out you know how to get that, how to
- 5:44Speaker 1: text you what to text and we'll send you a
- 5:46Speaker 1: link to the podcast and then you can subscribe for free,
- 5:50Speaker 1: auto download for free and get it every time we
- 5:51Speaker 1: put an episode out. So it's easy to do. You
- 5:55Speaker 1: can text the word Verdict to the number two four
- 6:00Speaker 1: zero zero five. Again, that's just the word Verdict to
- 6:04Speaker 1: two four zero zero five and what you get back
- 6:09Speaker 1: is a text with a series of links depending on
- 6:12Speaker 1: how you want to download the podcast. It just makes
- 6:14Speaker 1: it very easy for you to do it. It's the
- 6:17Speaker 1: easiest way to grab it, and again you can do it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: You can also tell Serial Alexa play Verdict with Ted
- 6:22Speaker 1: Cruz and it will do it automatically. One of the
- 6:25Speaker 1: things that I'm really excited about Center with us getting
- 6:28Speaker 1: to work together and do this is it's going to
- 6:30Speaker 1: give you an unfiltered place to go and respond to
- 6:36Speaker 1: some news when it whether it be foreign policy domestic policy,
- 6:42Speaker 1: are also issues that a lot of people I think
- 6:45Speaker 1: have been confused about. And I bring that up because
- 6:48Speaker 1: there was a hit piece and that's the only thing
- 6:50Speaker 1: I know to call It is a hit piece that
- 6:54Speaker 1: was put out by a conservative website where they said
- 6:59Speaker 1: that you had basically abandoned your values. This was I
- 7:04Speaker 1: think about a week ago, and my phone blew up
- 7:07Speaker 1: from people that knew that we knew each other, and
- 7:10Speaker 1: also it just blew up from people that were saying,
- 7:13Speaker 1: why did he sell us out on this quote? You
- 7:16Speaker 1: know liberal bill that was gonna not it was gonna
- 7:19Speaker 1: protect big tech and not actually hold them accountable for
- 7:22Speaker 1: censoring and silencing conservatives. And it was actually the complete
- 7:27Speaker 1: opposite of that. The reality was You're amendment that you
- 7:30Speaker 1: put in was backed by some of the most conservative organizations,
- 7:34Speaker 1: including The Washington Times, Newsmax. The list genuinely goes on
- 7:38Speaker 1: and on. But I want to talk about why did
- 7:41Speaker 1: Breitbart come after you that way and try to hit
- 7:44Speaker 1: you this way and explain that for listeners because it's
- 7:47Speaker 1: important I think they hear from you that their attack
- 7:50Speaker 1: on you was a flat out just in my opinion,
- 7:52Speaker 1: both faced lie. Yeah, Look, I'm happy to and and
- 7:56Speaker 1: it's a good example of some of the substance of
- 7:58Speaker 1: battles that are going on day in the Senate. So
- 8:01Speaker 1: this all started about a month ago in the Senate
- 8:04Speaker 1: Judiciary Committee, and we were marking up a bill that
- 8:08Speaker 1: Amy Klobuchar had introduced along with John Kenny. Kennedy Amy
- 8:12Speaker 1: as a Democrat from Minnesota, John as you know, as
- 8:14Speaker 1: a Republican from Louisiana. The bill they introduced is called
- 8:18Speaker 1: the Journalism Competition Protection Act, and what it's designed to
- 8:22Speaker 1: do is help smaller media outlets, small local TV stations,
- 8:28Speaker 1: local newspapers, help them fight back against big tech. So
- 8:33Speaker 1: what big tech does right now is it takes their content.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It takes a story your hometown paper rights, it takes
- 8:39Speaker 1: a story your hometown TV station puts up, and big
- 8:43Speaker 1: Tech puts it out there, doesn't pay them a penny.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So the local paper, the local TV station spent lots
- 8:50Speaker 1: of money producing that story. They don't get a penny.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Big Tech puts it out there on the Internet, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: then big Tech runs lots of ads and they make
- 8:57Speaker 1: all the money advertising on the content the small local
- 9:02Speaker 1: journalists produced. And so the little guys are really ticked
- 9:06Speaker 1: off about it. And what this bill does is it
- 9:09Speaker 1: allows smaller media outlets to join together and bargain collectively,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and it gives them an exemption from the antitrust laws
- 9:18Speaker 1: to bargain correct collectively with Big Tech. Australia passed a
- 9:24Speaker 1: very similar law and the effect of it. Big Tech
- 9:26Speaker 1: hated it. They screamed, they said it was terrible. And
- 9:29Speaker 1: after it passed, Big Tech started paying these smaller local
- 9:32Speaker 1: journalists outlets money for their stories and so it had
- 9:36Speaker 1: a real success record in Australia. Now, when it came
- 9:41Speaker 1: up for the market Markup, I was genuinely conflicted on it.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I think Big Tech is one of the most malevolent
- 9:48Speaker 1: evil forces on the planet. I think they abuse their power,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and I'm just about always interested in any effort to
- 9:55Speaker 1: weaken or strip away power from Big Tech. What I
- 9:58Speaker 1: said at the Markup, however, is that my number one
- 10:01Speaker 1: concerned with Big Tech his censorship. I think they blatantly
- 10:04Speaker 1: censor conservatives. I think they abused their power, and they're
- 10:07Speaker 1: getting worse and worse and worse. And at the Markup
- 10:10Speaker 1: I offered an amendment, and it was an amendment that
- 10:13Speaker 1: prohibited big Tech from colluding with local media to censor anybody,
- 10:19Speaker 1: to censor conservatives, to silence conservatives, to shadow band conservatives,
- 10:23Speaker 1: to throttle conservatives, and it created an exception. Well what
- 10:27Speaker 1: happened is My amendment passed at the markup because all
- 10:32Speaker 1: the Republicans voted for it, even John Kennedy, who was
- 10:35Speaker 1: a sponsor to the bill. John is a good friend.
- 10:37Speaker 1: He voted for it, said he thought it was a
- 10:38Speaker 1: great idea, and the Democrats screwed up. One of the
- 10:42Speaker 1: Democrats was missing that day, John oss Off from Georgia,
- 10:45Speaker 1: was in India and he had gotten COVID so he
- 10:48Speaker 1: wasn't physically there and he had not left a proxy
- 10:52Speaker 1: to vote. You can tell your staff how you want
- 10:54Speaker 1: to vote on a bill, but he hadn't done that,
- 10:56Speaker 1: so we voted on it. They're eleven Republicans, eleven Democrats
- 11:00Speaker 1: on the committee. Because Ausoff was missing, My amendment passed
- 11:04Speaker 1: eleven to ten. And people were shocked. They were stunned.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And Amy Klobuchar said, after hearing will of this amendments
- 11:12Speaker 1: in here, I can't support my own bill and I
- 11:14Speaker 1: withdraw it and listen, I've been serving ten years in
- 11:17Speaker 1: the Senate. I've never seen that happen. Yeah, I won't
- 11:20Speaker 1: vote from my own I won't vote from my own bill.
- 11:23Speaker 1: That's something you don't hear every day. It was. It
- 11:27Speaker 1: was an amazing moment. Well, What happened after that as
- 11:30Speaker 1: Amy came to me and said, listen, is there a
- 11:33Speaker 1: way we could work together on this? And I said, Amy,
- 11:36Speaker 1: my view is the same as I said at the
- 11:37Speaker 1: mark Up. If you include a prohibition on censorship, I'm
- 11:42Speaker 1: for it. If you don't, I'm against it. And Amy
- 11:45Speaker 1: and I sat down at a table together and wrote
- 11:48Speaker 1: an amendment. We wrote a new amendment, but it contained
- 11:51Speaker 1: an explicit carve out, and it says, the antitrust exemption
- 11:55Speaker 1: will not apply to any censorship, any efforts to throttle,
- 11:59Speaker 1: any effort to shadow band, anything that is restricting a
- 12:04Speaker 1: post based on content. It is the first meaningful prohibition
- 12:10Speaker 1: on big tech censorship that has ever been drafted. If
- 12:13Speaker 1: this becomes law, it will be the first meaningful prohibition
- 12:16Speaker 1: that's ever become federal law. At the Markup, Amy accepted
- 12:20Speaker 1: my amendment word for word, and so I voted for
- 12:23Speaker 1: the bill, and the bill passed with a pretty sizable margin.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So I thought it was a great victory. Big tech
- 12:29Speaker 1: hated the bill, and it was the first time we
- 12:31Speaker 1: were going to do something meaningful to stop censorship. Or
- 12:34Speaker 1: what happened is Brightbart wrote a really nasty hit piece
- 12:38Speaker 1: of actually a series of hit pieces. And the fascinating
- 12:42Speaker 1: thing that was not evident for many of the hit pieces,
- 12:44Speaker 1: and they didn't bother to tell their readers the reason
- 12:47Speaker 1: Brightbart is mad is Brightbart has a sweetheart deal with
- 12:51Speaker 1: big tech where they get a lot of revenue that
- 12:54Speaker 1: no other conservative publisher gets. So among the people who
- 12:58Speaker 1: were asking us to pass this were Newsmax, The Daily Caller,
- 13:03Speaker 1: the Washington Examiner, all of these right wing outlets that
- 13:07Speaker 1: very much wanted this to pass because it's critical to
- 13:12Speaker 1: their being able to survive. And all of them, by
- 13:15Speaker 1: the way, wrote offense and editorial saying what a fantastic
- 13:19Speaker 1: victory it was for conservatives. But because Brightbart is making
- 13:23Speaker 1: a whole bunch of money on the status quo, and
- 13:25Speaker 1: I guess they don't want other conservative outlets to be
- 13:27Speaker 1: able to do the same, they decided to write what
- 13:30Speaker 1: I thought was an incredibly dishonest hit piece, and it
- 13:34Speaker 1: confused a lot of people, and it went viral. And
- 13:36Speaker 1: I think that's one of the things that's scary about
- 13:38Speaker 1: social media is how quickly things can go viral. And
- 13:42Speaker 1: I said this even before you and I talked, I said,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you got to realize there's only one place that in
- 13:46Speaker 1: the conservative movement right now that's attacking Ted Cruz, and
- 13:49Speaker 1: it's Brightbart. Think about that. All the others right are
- 13:53Speaker 1: actually lobbying for this bill that you guys put together
- 13:58Speaker 1: that Big Tech genuinely did not like. And I do
- 14:02Speaker 1: think there were some and you mentioned it, Democrats understood, Hey,
- 14:05Speaker 1: this can work both ways. Right, you get out of
- 14:07Speaker 1: line and things can go the wrong way very quickly.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And this is one of the things I think it's
- 14:12Speaker 1: so important about your podcast what you just did. Giving
- 14:16Speaker 1: a deep dive into the actual bill, how it's being made,
- 14:20Speaker 1: where this, how this got from point A to point B,
- 14:22Speaker 1: is maybe one of the most important things that you
- 14:25Speaker 1: get to do with Verdict this podcast, and I say
- 14:28Speaker 1: it again to everybody listening, make sure you download it
- 14:31Speaker 1: auto subscribe to it because it's gonna it's an amazing
- 14:34Speaker 1: podcast that we're expanding to to three days a week.
- 14:37Speaker 1: All right. I want to get to the Hunter Biden
- 14:39Speaker 1: story and get your take on this center. But before
- 14:41Speaker 1: we get to that, I want to tell you about
- 14:43Speaker 1: our good friends over at Patriot Mobile. If you are
- 14:46Speaker 1: ready to have an impact every time that you use
- 14:49Speaker 1: your phone and I'm talking about have an impact by
- 14:51Speaker 1: supporting First and Second Amendment rights, supporting the rights of
- 14:55Speaker 1: the unborn, and fighting back every time you make a
- 14:57Speaker 1: phone call. You need to know about pay Treat Mobile.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile is America's only conservative Christian mobile phone provider,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and they are using your phone bill when you paid
- 15:10Speaker 1: every month, to actually fight for conservative causes while saving
- 15:14Speaker 1: you money. Now, this isn't any extra at onto your bill.
- 15:16Speaker 1: They take a portion of your bill every month and
- 15:19Speaker 1: they give it back to fund conservative causes in Canada
- 15:24Speaker 1: to believe in the sanctity of life, freedom of speech,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and the Second Amendment, and they are winning. Patriot Mobile
- 15:31Speaker 1: has now been attacked by the big media. Big tech
- 15:35Speaker 1: is now coming after them, and that's why I want
- 15:37Speaker 1: you to support them. If you want an affordable plan
- 15:41Speaker 1: and you want to get the same great coverage you
- 15:43Speaker 1: have right now, switch to Patriot Mobile. You're gonna save money.
- 15:46Speaker 1: They use the same exact towers you're using right now.
- 15:49Speaker 1: It's an affordable plan for you and your family, are
- 15:51Speaker 1: even your business or small business. They offer the same
- 15:55Speaker 1: nationwide coverage as the major carriers because they use the
- 15:58Speaker 1: same towers. If you haven't found out about Patriot Mobile.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Check him out patriotmobile dot com, slash ferguson. That's Patriot
- 16:07Speaker 1: Mobile dot com slash ferguson. Or call them nine to
- 16:10Speaker 1: seven to Patriot You'll get free activation with the offer
- 16:14Speaker 1: code Ferguson ninety seven to Patriot Check them out Centator.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I want to get into the other big story about
- 16:20Speaker 1: Hunter Biden and some of the breaking news with Hunter Biden.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It specifically deals with the FEDS that are now saying,
- 16:27Speaker 1: all right, we might charge him with some crimes. I
- 16:29Speaker 1: am worried now that they're going to charge him, which
- 16:34Speaker 1: is basically the equivalent of a slap on the risk,
- 16:37Speaker 1: hoping they don't have to deal with all the other
- 16:39Speaker 1: crimes that he may have committed from his own words,
- 16:43Speaker 1: from his own emails, from his own laptop, from Tony
- 16:45Speaker 1: bob Olinsky, and even more the information that he devoltes
- 16:48Speaker 1: this week on Fox News Channel, we keep seeing more
- 16:52Speaker 1: and more come out, and now it's almost like we
- 16:54Speaker 1: see this weird last minute adjustment where it's like a
- 16:58Speaker 1: rush to charge him with the bare minimum crimes and
- 17:02Speaker 1: maybe not all of the things he's been involved with.
- 17:05Speaker 1: How concerned are you over this? Because this has been
- 17:07Speaker 1: several years they've been sitting on this, and now we're
- 17:10Speaker 1: starting to hear this. Okay, let's run to the finish line.
- 17:14Speaker 1: We might charge him with tax crimes. We might fall
- 17:17Speaker 1: him with a false gun statement, a false statement. That's it.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I mean that if you look at his emails, that
- 17:23Speaker 1: is like the best case scenario if you're Hunter Biden.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Am I wrong? Yeah? You're not wrong. As I look
- 17:30Speaker 1: at it, I think it is good news and bad
- 17:32Speaker 1: news and good news and baddos. So what does that mean?
- 17:35Speaker 1: It's good news because look, at least if the reports
- 17:38Speaker 1: are true, they're gonna hold Hunter Biden accountable for something.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And at this point, the list of crimes he's committed,
- 17:44Speaker 1: it committed is pretty incredible. I'm glad to see him
- 17:47Speaker 1: if he is in fact indicted and prosecuted, and I'm
- 17:49Speaker 1: glad to see the law holding him to account. That's
- 17:53Speaker 1: that's that's worthwhile. The bad news is exactly what you
- 17:57Speaker 1: said that it sure looks like they're trying to pick
- 18:00Speaker 1: a couple of minor crimes to avoid prosecuting him for
- 18:05Speaker 1: the much more serious corruption. Look the stuff, they're the
- 18:08Speaker 1: videos that we've all seen of him with crack cocaine,
- 18:11Speaker 1: waiting around a god with prostitutes. I mean, on the
- 18:14Speaker 1: face of it, you've got multiple felony that this rocket
- 18:17Speaker 1: sciences videos and self committing. If you and I had
- 18:20Speaker 1: done that, the popo come knock on the door and
- 18:23Speaker 1: take us away. But you know if your Biden's son,
- 18:27Speaker 1: apparently that didn't apply. It does sure feel like these
- 18:34Speaker 1: are the charges they're looking at, because they don't want
- 18:36Speaker 1: to look at the corruption of Barisma, the Ukrainian natural
- 18:40Speaker 1: gas company paying him eighty three thousand dollars a month
- 18:45Speaker 1: despite the fact that he didn't speak the language, you
- 18:47Speaker 1: knew nothing about oil or gas, and it was it
- 18:50Speaker 1: seemed pretty obviously a payoff because his father was vice president.
- 18:54Speaker 1: They don't want to look at the Chinese corruption of
- 18:56Speaker 1: the Chinese investing billions in his venture, is paying him millions.
- 19:01Speaker 1: They certainly don't want to look in into ten percent
- 19:04Speaker 1: for the big guy and the stuff that really goes
- 19:07Speaker 1: to the heart of the corruption. That's bad news. If
- 19:09Speaker 1: that's a cover up, I will say, I told you
- 19:13Speaker 1: good news, bad news, good news, and bad news. The
- 19:15Speaker 1: good news also the fact that they're leaking this and
- 19:19Speaker 1: are expected to do the indictment now shows that DOJ
- 19:23Speaker 1: and Biden are worried that they are perceived as too
- 19:27Speaker 1: political and abusing DJ and the FBI. Now, they are,
- 19:31Speaker 1: of course too political, and they're brazenly abusing DOJ and
- 19:35Speaker 1: the FBI. But usually the Department of Justice has a
- 19:38Speaker 1: protocol in place that they don't bring a high profile
- 19:42Speaker 1: political indictment the month before an election, and so the
- 19:46Speaker 1: fact that they're proceeding now I think shows that they're
- 19:49Speaker 1: really scared. The voters in November are kicked off at
- 19:52Speaker 1: a bunch of politicized, weaponized federal agents being turned into
- 19:57Speaker 1: the stormtroopers for the DMC. That's good news that they're scared,
- 20:01Speaker 1: But here's the real bad news. I think the reason
- 20:05Speaker 1: why they are contemplating and they may well go through
- 20:08Speaker 1: with indicting Hunter Biden on something is they want to
- 20:12Speaker 1: use that to say, on the one hand, we in
- 20:14Speaker 1: Hunter Biden. Now, on the other hand, left invite Donald Trump.
- 20:18Speaker 1: And I see this as foreshadowing that these wild eyed
- 20:23Speaker 1: partisans are are getting ready to try to bring an
- 20:26Speaker 1: indictment against Donald Trump, and I think that would be
- 20:28Speaker 1: a wild abuse of power if they do. So. Let
- 20:32Speaker 1: me ask you, there are so many people that say,
- 20:35Speaker 1: all right, if Republicans get back the House and Senate,
- 20:39Speaker 1: you're on your bus tour right now. And I want
- 20:42Speaker 1: you to talk a little bit about the bus tour
- 20:44Speaker 1: and why you're doing it, But I want to connect
- 20:45Speaker 1: it to the payoff. And the payoff is if Republicans
- 20:49Speaker 1: get back control of the House and Senate, are we
- 20:51Speaker 1: going to whuss out or were we going to actually
- 20:54Speaker 1: look at this laptop? Are we going to actually look
- 20:56Speaker 1: at the abuse of power? Are we going to actually
- 20:58Speaker 1: look at the the I call it the Biden crime
- 21:01Speaker 1: family for a reason, James Biden, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Are we gonna look at all of these things? Or
- 21:07Speaker 1: are they going to get away with it again? Because
- 21:09Speaker 1: there's certainly a feeling out their center by so many
- 21:12Speaker 1: concerns that feel like every time we get power, we
- 21:15Speaker 1: screw it up and we don't actually do our jobs.
- 21:18Speaker 1: So what does it look like if you guys get
- 21:20Speaker 1: back control of the Senate and Republicans with Jim Jordan
- 21:23Speaker 1: and comer get back the House. What actually happens and changes? Well,
- 21:29Speaker 1: I think it will change dramatically, and there are lots
- 21:32Speaker 1: of ways in which it changes. One of the most
- 21:34Speaker 1: important as oversight, the ability to convene hearings, the ability
- 21:37Speaker 1: to issue subpoenas, the ability to interview witnesses, the ability
- 21:42Speaker 1: to drill down and get the facts right now, the
- 21:46Speaker 1: Democrats have the gabbles in both houses. That means they're
- 21:49Speaker 1: the only ones that can call a hearing, they're the
- 21:51Speaker 1: only ones that can issue a subpoena, and they have
- 21:53Speaker 1: no interest in oversight on anything Biden is doing, any
- 21:57Speaker 1: of the corruption, any of the terrible policies, one of
- 22:00Speaker 1: this they want to look at. I believe it's very
- 22:03Speaker 1: likely we're going to win back both the House and
- 22:05Speaker 1: the Senate, and if and when we do so, I'll
- 22:08Speaker 1: tell you what I'm going to be urging, my colleague,
- 22:10Speaker 1: is that we have vigorous oversight and every one of
- 22:13Speaker 1: the issues you mentioned that we have vigorous oversight into
- 22:16Speaker 1: also big public policy issues like Mike COVID, the origin
- 22:21Speaker 1: of COVID, the Wuhan Institute of Barology, the NIH's funding
- 22:25Speaker 1: of gain of function research, doctor Fauci's repeated false statements
- 22:30Speaker 1: under Owes to Congress that the blatant corruption within this
- 22:36Speaker 1: administration with big Pharma on the backs of COVID, I
- 22:41Speaker 1: think that needs serious systematic examination. Whether that happens will
- 22:47Speaker 1: depend on the chairman of various committees. You mentioned Jim Jordan.
- 22:51Speaker 1: If we retake the House, and it is very likely
- 22:53Speaker 1: that will retake the House, Jim Jordan will be the
- 22:56Speaker 1: Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Jim is a close friend,
- 22:59Speaker 1: He's a strong conservative. I have every confidence Jim is
- 23:03Speaker 1: going to be vigorous on this front. If we retake
- 23:07Speaker 1: the Senate, I am next in line to be Chairman
- 23:10Speaker 1: of the Commerce Committee. I can promise you from that chairmanship,
- 23:14Speaker 1: I intend to be vigorous in oversight of this administration.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I think that is a big, big deal, and I
- 23:20Speaker 1: hope every chairman in both the House and Senate uses
- 23:24Speaker 1: the full force and powered authority of the United States
- 23:27Speaker 1: Congress to hold this administration accountable. Let's talk about Commerce
- 23:31Speaker 1: for a second, my guests, Tomy is a US center
- 23:34Speaker 1: from Texas. Ted Cruz. He is. Now I get to
- 23:36Speaker 1: say this. I'm gonna it's gonna be fun to say
- 23:38Speaker 1: for hopefully a very long time. My coast on his
- 23:42Speaker 1: podcasts Verdict with Ted Cruz. Make sure you download Verdict
- 23:46Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcasts. So let's dive deep into
- 23:49Speaker 1: the how big of a deal it is if you
- 23:52Speaker 1: become the chairman of Commerce Committee. What is the responsibility
- 23:56Speaker 1: of Commerce Committee, Why is it so powerful in Washington,
- 23:59Speaker 1: and what can be done in that role. So the
- 24:03Speaker 1: committee is called the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation,
- 24:09Speaker 1: and so it has jurisdiction. I'll just read you what
- 24:12Speaker 1: the committee has jurisdiction over. It has jurisdiction over the
- 24:15Speaker 1: coast Guard, over coastal zone management. Over all communications, so
- 24:19Speaker 1: the SCC, televisions, telephones, the Internet, all communications. It has
- 24:25Speaker 1: jurisdiction over highway safety, inland waterways, interstate commerce, marine and
- 24:31Speaker 1: ocean navigation, marine fisheries, merchant marine and navigation, non military,
- 24:37Speaker 1: aeronautical and space sciences, so all of space, all of
- 24:40Speaker 1: NASA oceans, weather, and atmospheric activities, the Panama Canal. Regulation
- 24:47Speaker 1: of consumer products and services, including testing relating to toxic substances.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Regulation of interstate common carriers and that includes railroads, that
- 24:57Speaker 1: includes buses, trucks, vessels, pipeline and civil aviation, all airlines,
- 25:03Speaker 1: science engineering, technology research, sports. Regulation of sports squarely within
- 25:09Speaker 1: the Committee's jurisdictions. Standards of measurement, transportation, and transportation and
- 25:14Speaker 1: commerce on the outer kept Continental Shelf lands. That's the
- 25:18Speaker 1: jurisdiction of the committee. It's about fifty percent of the
- 25:21Speaker 1: American economy that falls under the jurisdiction of the Commerce Committee.
- 25:26Speaker 1: It's obviously very very very important, to say the least,
- 25:30Speaker 1: when you look at everything that's on there, and that's
- 25:32Speaker 1: what's up for grab in these midterms. Let's go to
- 25:35Speaker 1: the bus tour for a minute. Center. You're not up
- 25:38Speaker 1: for reelection in this midterm, but what you have done
- 25:41Speaker 1: has quickly committed yourself to making sure that other Conservatives
- 25:46Speaker 1: are getting elected to Congress. You understand how important it is,
- 25:50Speaker 1: I think as a team to make sure you have
- 25:52Speaker 1: the majority come November. Are really come January, but win
- 25:55Speaker 1: in November in the House and the Senate. And that's
- 25:58Speaker 1: why you're busing, barnstorming all over the country to help
- 26:03Speaker 1: others get elected. I think it's incredible work that you're doing.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Talk a little bit about the bus tour and how
- 26:08Speaker 1: people can find out more. Well. The bus tour has
- 26:11Speaker 1: been phenomenal. We are nine days into the bus tour.
- 26:14Speaker 1: We launched it just over a week ago, and my
- 26:17Speaker 1: objective is twofold number one retake the House and Senate,
- 26:20Speaker 1: which I think we have an historic opportunity to do
- 26:23Speaker 1: this election. But number two, I want to see strong
- 26:26Speaker 1: principal conservatives elected so that once we have majorities, we
- 26:30Speaker 1: do something with it. We follow through on our promises.
- 26:33Speaker 1: So the bus tour is a month long and it's
- 26:37Speaker 1: a seventeen state tour. We're doing thirty five stops all
- 26:41Speaker 1: over the country. So we started in tom Ball, Texas,
- 26:44Speaker 1: which is just north of Houston. Did a big rally there.
- 26:47Speaker 1: We went down to the Rio Grand Valley. We did
- 26:49Speaker 1: rallies in McCallan, Texas, and Harlingen, Texas, and Laredo, Texas.
- 26:53Speaker 1: From there, we went to New Mexico, did a big
- 26:56Speaker 1: rally into Mexico. Then we went to Arizona. Two rallies
- 26:59Speaker 1: in Area Zona one and Tucson one just outside of Phoenix.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Then we went to Nevada. Did a rally in Vegas
- 27:05Speaker 1: for two congressional candidates. You joined us for that, a
- 27:08Speaker 1: great opportunity to retake both the Senate and to win
- 27:13Speaker 1: three House seats in Nevada. From there, went to Utah,
- 27:17Speaker 1: did a big rally for Mike Lee. He'd got a
- 27:20Speaker 1: very important Senate race in Utah, and after Utah in
- 27:24Speaker 1: Utah right now. After that, we're headed to Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia,
- 27:35Speaker 1: North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and then back up to Michigan,
- 27:42Speaker 1: to Wisconsin and back down to Texas the day before
- 27:45Speaker 1: election day to close out the tour. It's so important
- 27:49Speaker 1: that we get the right people elected. And I do
- 27:51Speaker 1: think Senator one of the problems we've seen is there's
- 27:54Speaker 1: been a lot of distractions going into this midterms. People
- 27:58Speaker 1: trying to talk about January where six people trying to
- 28:01Speaker 1: talk about Donald Trump Tree. We're trying to make this
- 28:03Speaker 1: election about Donald Trump. And I think one of the
- 28:06Speaker 1: things that is that the reason why you've kind of
- 28:09Speaker 1: seen the numbers go back in favor of Republicans over
- 28:14Speaker 1: the last week week and a half is it seems
- 28:16Speaker 1: like a lot of conservatives are going back to the basics,
- 28:20Speaker 1: which is exactly what they should be talking about. They
- 28:22Speaker 1: should be talking about the economy, they should be talking
- 28:25Speaker 1: about energy independence, they should be talking about foreign policy.
- 28:30Speaker 1: And that brings me to this foreign policy I call
- 28:33Speaker 1: it a blunder, and I want to get your reaction
- 28:35Speaker 1: to Scott Kirby today try to go on TV and
- 28:38Speaker 1: clean up Joe Biden warning the world, warning America of
- 28:43Speaker 1: a nuclear armageddon amid Putin's threats. And this is what
- 28:46Speaker 1: he said on ABC this week, Folksman, John Kirby, Good morning, John.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Let's start with President Biden's comments saying we are facing
- 28:54Speaker 1: the potential of a nuclear armageddon. I know the White
- 28:57Speaker 1: House has said these are consistent with comments it's used
- 29:00Speaker 1: in the past, but he's never said anything quite as
- 29:03Speaker 1: stark as this. So as the president, right, are we
- 29:06Speaker 1: facing a potential nuclear armageddon? The President was reflecting the
- 29:12Speaker 1: very high stakes that they're in play right now, Martha,
- 29:15Speaker 1: when you have a modern nuclear power and the leader
- 29:18Speaker 1: of that modern nuclear power willing to use irresponsible rhetoric
- 29:22Speaker 1: the way that mister Putin has several times in just
- 29:25Speaker 1: the last week or two, as well as the high
- 29:29Speaker 1: tensions in Ukraine over just of course of the last
- 29:32Speaker 1: few days. So the President, I think was accurately reflecting
- 29:35Speaker 1: the fact that the stakes are very high right now. Senator,
- 29:38Speaker 1: you've been briefed, You get national security issues across your desk,
- 29:41Speaker 1: you get i'm sure classified briefings along the way, as well,
- 29:45Speaker 1: you hear the White House now saying in Biden warning
- 29:47Speaker 1: we got a nuclear armageddon amid these putin threats, and
- 29:50Speaker 1: then you got Kirby going out there trying to somewhat
- 29:52Speaker 1: clean it up without saying the President spoke out of line.
- 29:55Speaker 1: This is absurd. Let's go back to reality. What is
- 29:58Speaker 1: your reaction having the president it's America. I clearly think
- 30:01Speaker 1: that's a political ploy right before the election saying hey,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I'm saving you, I'm protecting you. The Democrats are great,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and there's armageddon. You don't want to switch and a
- 30:09Speaker 1: Republican's in charge. Now, how shocked are you by this,
- 30:13Speaker 1: these statements in the White House? You know, sadly, I'm
- 30:17Speaker 1: not not shocked at all. There are a couple of
- 30:20Speaker 1: things going on. Number one, everybody knows now that this
- 30:23Speaker 1: president is wildly diminished in terms of his mental capacity.
- 30:29Speaker 1: He's seriously unable to stay engaged, and so he says
- 30:34Speaker 1: things every single day the White House has to send
- 30:37Speaker 1: out staff to clean up something Biden said, you know,
- 30:41Speaker 1: it's the old clean up on Aisle six. That that's
- 30:43Speaker 1: what what Biden is doing. He just shoots off his mouth.
- 30:46Speaker 1: He doesn't you know, this is a guy that shakes
- 30:48Speaker 1: hands with the empty air. He's not. I've known Joe
- 30:51Speaker 1: Biden a long time. He was vice president when I
- 30:53Speaker 1: was first elected. Joe swore me in ten years ago.
- 30:57Speaker 1: He wasn't a rocket scientist, but he didn't have full
- 31:01Speaker 1: on dementia. What we see now is really dangerous because
- 31:06Speaker 1: nobody knows what he's going to say today or tomorrow
- 31:09Speaker 1: or the next day. And that is not a good
- 31:11Speaker 1: thing for the commander in chief. Now, put on top
- 31:13Speaker 1: of that the reality that this administration on foreign policy
- 31:19Speaker 1: has managed to get every single decision wrong for two years.
- 31:24Speaker 1: They've made such a mess of it. The disturbing thing is, look,
- 31:29Speaker 1: Biden is not crazily wrong. He is risky, nuclear armored
- 31:35Speaker 1: to get and he's messed up foreign policy to the
- 31:38Speaker 1: greatest extent since the Cuban missile crisis under JFK. And
- 31:44Speaker 1: this is Biden's fault. He's causing the crisis. You know,
- 31:48Speaker 1: before the election, Biden and all the Democrats said we
- 31:51Speaker 1: need to put the adults back in charge of foreign policy. Well,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I've got to say, these numbskull adults, they've surrendered to
- 31:57Speaker 1: the Taliban. Every region of the earth on Earth is worse.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Every enemy of America is stronger. They've abandoned and undermind
- 32:05Speaker 1: our friends and allies. And what's utterly bizarre, the Biden
- 32:09Speaker 1: policy is in many ways very simple on foreign policy.
- 32:13Speaker 1: All of our friends, nations like Israel, nations like the
- 32:17Speaker 1: United Kingdom, nations like Guatemala, nations like India. This administration
- 32:23Speaker 1: goes out of their way to undermine, to ridicule, to
- 32:27Speaker 1: attack Saudi Arabia. He said, We're gonna make Saudi Arabia pariah,
- 32:31Speaker 1: despite the fact that the Saudis have been longtime allies
- 32:35Speaker 1: of US. And on the flip side, the enemies of America,
- 32:39Speaker 1: nations like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, they bend
- 32:45Speaker 1: over backwards to surrender, to to send billions of dollars
- 32:49Speaker 1: to and the result is the chaos we have. You know,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I hear Biden saying that my reaction is boy, that's
- 32:56Speaker 1: the heck of an advertisement for the foreign polo See
- 33:00Speaker 1: under Democrats brings you to the break of nuclear armageddon.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That's really encouraging. My guest with me is a US
- 33:07Speaker 1: Senator from Texas, Ted Cruise. I am now co hosting
- 33:12Speaker 1: his podcasts with him Verdict with Ted Cruz in addition
- 33:16Speaker 1: to this show. So if you've not download a Verdict,
- 33:18Speaker 1: make sure you do it. And Senator, I want to
- 33:20Speaker 1: ask you about the economy in just a moment. Before
- 33:23Speaker 1: I get to that, I need to tell you about
- 33:24Speaker 1: my good friends at Legacy Precious Medals. If you're paying attention,
- 33:29Speaker 1: you've seen that the stock market has been plumbing. Many
- 33:32Speaker 1: economists are predicting this is just the beginning and we
- 33:35Speaker 1: could see a market pullback well into twenty twenty three.
- 33:39Speaker 1: If that happens, you're going to see tremendous losses in
- 33:41Speaker 1: your portfolio. Many of you have already seen those losses.
- 33:46Speaker 1: That is where there's an upside with gold. In the
- 33:49Speaker 1: two thousand and eight crash. When the market dipped, gold

- 34:30Speaker 1: Or you can even download their comprehensive goal guide at
- 34:33Speaker 1: Legacy PM Investments dot com. That's Legacy PM Investments dot
- 34:39Speaker 1: com center. Let's talk real quick about the economy. You
- 34:42Speaker 1: look at the foreign policy blenders, you bring it back home.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Even Larry Summers now from Harvard Kennedy School today he said,
- 34:52Speaker 1: and this made me laugh a little bit. I believe
- 34:55Speaker 1: if you look at the actual definition of recession, we're
- 34:58Speaker 1: in it right now. Larry's Summers is letting you know
- 35:01Speaker 1: how bad it's going to get by saying, well, it's
- 35:03Speaker 1: not a recession yet. But listen, I think it's more
- 35:07Speaker 1: likely than not that sometime in the next year or
- 35:10Speaker 1: eighteen months we will have a recession. I think that's
- 35:14Speaker 1: a that's a consequence of the excesses that the economy
- 35:19Speaker 1: has been through, and historical experience suggests that the kind
- 35:26Speaker 1: of inflation we have rarely returns to normal levels, to
- 35:32Speaker 1: target levels of around two percent without some kind of recession. Now,
- 35:37Speaker 1: I don't think that means we're going to have something
- 35:39Speaker 1: like we had after COVID or something like we had
- 35:43Speaker 1: during the financial crisis. But I do think that we
- 35:48Speaker 1: had a period of very substantial stimulus, and I think
- 35:52Speaker 1: the other side of that is likely to be a downturn.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I love how it gives us explanation and says it's
- 35:59Speaker 1: based of the people's fault when it's clearly the government's
- 36:02Speaker 1: fault in the leadership of Joe Biden, the policies of
- 36:05Speaker 1: Joe Biden that have gotten it's where we are. And
- 36:06Speaker 1: the scary part is he's basically saying, all right, for
- 36:09Speaker 1: the next two years, we're gonna be in a recession.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I think that's not going to come out of it,
- 36:15Speaker 1: probably anytime in the next eighteen months. But he refuses
- 36:19Speaker 1: to put this at the doorstep of the Biden administration.
- 36:23Speaker 1: And it's like he's not willing to tell you it's bad.
- 36:26Speaker 1: He's gonna say it's gonna be bad in the future,
- 36:28Speaker 1: but not right now because we've got to get through
- 36:29Speaker 1: the election before I can tell you the truth. Well, look,
- 36:34Speaker 1: I gotta say what Larry Summers has been saying is extraordinary.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I mean, Larry Summers is someone who's been a Democrat
- 36:39Speaker 1: his entire life. He was the Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton,
- 36:44Speaker 1: He was the director of the National Economic Council under
- 36:47Speaker 1: Barack Obama. He was president at Harvard University. I mean,
- 36:50Speaker 1: this guy is as much a Democrat as anyone on
- 36:54Speaker 1: the planet, and yet he's one of the few Democrats
- 36:57Speaker 1: who hasn't gone insane. There used to be rational Democrats.
- 37:02Speaker 1: They used to exist in Washington. What's happened in the
- 37:04Speaker 1: last two years is the Democrat Party has handed their
- 37:08Speaker 1: agenda over to the cuckoo birds, to the radical left.
- 37:12Speaker 1: And what Larry Summons has pointed out is said, look,
- 37:14Speaker 1: you can't spend fourteen trillion dollars and not have runaway
- 37:19Speaker 1: inflation when the government printing presses run twenty four hours
- 37:23Speaker 1: a day printing trillions and trillions of dollars. Every dollar
- 37:27Speaker 1: they print makes the dollar and your wallet or your
- 37:30Speaker 1: bank account worth less because they're more dollars chasing the
- 37:33Speaker 1: same goods. That has been basic economics one oh one
- 37:37Speaker 1: for a long long time. And these socialists who are
- 37:42Speaker 1: controlling the Democrat Party in Congress, in the Biden White House,
- 37:46Speaker 1: they want to ignore that reality. You look at a recession,
- 37:49Speaker 1: a long time definition of a recession is two consecutive
- 37:54Speaker 1: quarters of negative GDP growth. Now, it is a fact, indisputable.
- 37:59Speaker 1: At the last two quarters we have had negative GDP growth.
- 38:05Speaker 1: This White House is so craved and cynical they sent
- 38:08Speaker 1: out their mouthpieces to say, we're changing the definition of
- 38:12Speaker 1: recession so it's no longer two negative quarters of economic growth.
- 38:17Speaker 1: It's whatever this committee of expert says it is, as
- 38:20Speaker 1: long as it's not right now. And really what they're
- 38:23Speaker 1: saying is we're just not going to call it a
- 38:24Speaker 1: recession because we got an election coming up. Recession, in
- 38:28Speaker 1: their book, is only something that happens when Republicans are
- 38:31Speaker 1: in charge. I gotta say it's ridiculous. I'm glad Larry
- 38:34Speaker 1: Summers is one of the few people with the guts
- 38:37Speaker 1: to say, of course, the high cost you're paying at
- 38:41Speaker 1: the grocery store and the gas pump and everywhere else
- 38:45Speaker 1: is the result of this wild spending spree from the Democrats.
- 38:49Speaker 1: It is nice at least see some sort of reality
- 38:52Speaker 1: check their Senator. This is going to be really fun
