- 0:00Speaker 1: Let me begin by congratulating the team at NASA and
- 0:04Speaker 1: our brave astronauts on the successful launch of Artivists too.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It was quite something. It would be traveling further than
- 0:11Speaker 1: any manned rocket has ever flown and will very substantially
- 0:15Speaker 1: pass the Moon, go around it, and come back home
- 0:19Speaker 1: from a distance that has never been done before. It's amazing.
- 0:23Speaker 1: They are on the way, and God bless them, these
- 0:26Speaker 1: brave people.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:33Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. We've got one big story
- 0:36Speaker 3: for you, and that is President Trump addressing the nation
- 0:39Speaker 3: in prime time talking about where we are when it
- 0:43Speaker 3: comes to the war in Iran, what happens next, and
- 0:47Speaker 3: what are his demands so that we can move on
- 0:49Speaker 3: past this with those in charge in Iran. I've got
- 0:53Speaker 3: it all for you and the highlights of what the
- 0:55Speaker 3: President said. It's a forty seven Morning Update and it
- 0:58Speaker 3: starts right now. Number one, President Trump addressed the nation
- 1:03Speaker 3: in prime time giving an update on Operation Epic Fury
- 1:07Speaker 3: and where things stand after thirty one days of fighting.
- 1:10Speaker 3: The bottom line was pretty clear, according to the President
- 1:13Speaker 3: the latest operation, well, it is a mission that is
- 1:16Speaker 3: not just working, it's dominating. From the very beginning, the
- 1:20Speaker 3: objectives of Operation Epic Fury we're clearly defined, and now
- 1:24Speaker 3: more than a month into the conflict, officials say those
- 1:27Speaker 3: objectives are being executed with overwhelming force and potentially nearing
- 1:32Speaker 3: completion within weeks not months. So let me break down
- 1:36Speaker 3: exactly what that means. The first objective the President talked
- 1:40Speaker 3: about was this to destroy a RAN's missile threat. Now,
- 1:43Speaker 3: this was priority number one, taking out the regimes ballistic
- 1:47Speaker 3: missiles and crippling their ability to produce them. So far,
- 1:50Speaker 3: the results are staggering. Ballistic missile attacks down ninety percent,
- 1:56Speaker 3: Drone attacks also down ninety percent. The US military has
- 2:01Speaker 3: now struck more than eleven thousand targets inside of Iran.
- 2:05Speaker 3: At the same time, American forces have established overwhelming air dominance,
- 2:11Speaker 3: flying deeper into Iranian territory and launching coordinated strike packages
- 2:16Speaker 3: literally every hour, and perhaps most importantly, over sixty six
- 2:21Speaker 3: percent of Iran's missiles, drones, and naval production facilities have
- 2:27Speaker 3: already been damaged or completely destroyed. The second objective was
- 2:32Speaker 3: to eliminate Iran's Navy, and again the numbers whether hard
- 2:36Speaker 3: to ignore. More than one hundred and fifty Iranian vessels
- 2:39Speaker 3: have been destroyed or sunk, including over forty four mine layers.
- 2:44Speaker 3: In fact, the Iranian Navy has now been assessed as
- 2:47Speaker 3: being what is described as combat ineffective, with roughly ninety
- 2:52Speaker 3: two percent of its largest ships completely wiped out. At
- 2:57Speaker 3: this point, Iran has effectively lost the ability to project
- 3:00Speaker 3: naval power in the region. There are currently no Iranian
- 3:04Speaker 3: vessels operating in major regional waterways. Military officials say this
- 3:09Speaker 3: is the largest elimination of a navy in a three
- 3:12Speaker 3: week period since World War II, and a key focus
- 3:16Speaker 3: remained securing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most
- 3:19Speaker 3: critical energy choke points in the world. The third objective
- 3:23Speaker 3: was to neutralize Iran's terrace proxies. Groups back by Iran,
- 3:29Speaker 3: long known for destabilizing the region, are now described as
- 3:33Speaker 3: barely putting up resistance. That's a major shift in the
- 3:37Speaker 3: balance of power. And the fourth objective, and this is
- 3:40Speaker 3: the big one, ensure Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.
- 3:45Speaker 3: President Trump made it clear on this point and has
- 3:48Speaker 3: for decades, reiterating it over and over again. In the
- 3:51Speaker 3: last thirty days, Iran will never be allowed to obtain
- 3:55Speaker 3: a nuclear weapon. Now, as for what comes next, this
- 3:58Speaker 3: is where things got even more interesting, as the President
- 4:02Speaker 3: started to lay out why his doctrine is very different
- 4:04Speaker 3: from what we've seen in the past. You start out
- 4:07Speaker 3: talking about Barack Obama giving Iran one point seven billion
- 4:12Speaker 3: in cash.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And then very importantly, I terminated Barack Hussein Obama is
- 4:17Speaker 1: a rand nuclear deal, a disaster. Obama gave them one
- 4:21Speaker 1: point seven billion dollars in cash, green green cash, took
- 4:26Speaker 1: it out of banks from Virginia, DC and Maryland. All
- 4:31Speaker 1: the cash they had, flew it by aeroplanes in an
- 4:34Speaker 1: attempt to buy their respect and loyalty. But it didn't work.
- 4:38Speaker 1: They laughed at our president and went on with their
- 4:41Speaker 1: mission to have a nuclear bomb. His Ran deal would
- 4:45Speaker 1: have led to a colossal arsenal, massive nuclear weapons for Iran,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and they would have had them years ago, and they
- 4:52Speaker 1: would have used them. Would have been a different world.
- 4:56Speaker 1: There would have been no Middle East and no Israel
- 4:58Speaker 1: right now, in my opinion, the opinion of a lot
- 5:00Speaker 1: of great experts, had I not terminated that terrible deal,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I was so honored to do it. I was so
- 5:07Speaker 1: proud to do it. It was so bad right from the beginning. Essentially,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I did what no other president was willing to do.
- 5:14Speaker 1: They made mistakes, and I am correcting them.
- 5:18Speaker 3: The President talking about correcting those major mistakes that were
- 5:21Speaker 3: made by past leaders who knew there was a threat
- 5:25Speaker 3: but refused to act. The President also praised the US
- 5:28Speaker 3: Armed Forces, saying this.
- 5:30Speaker 1: As I stated in my announcement of Operation Epic Fury,
- 5:35Speaker 1: our objectives are very simple and clear. We are systematically
- 5:40Speaker 1: dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America or project power
- 5:44Speaker 1: outside of their borders. That means eliminating Iran's navy, which
- 5:49Speaker 1: is now absolutely destroyed, hurting their air force and their
- 5:55Speaker 1: missile program at levels never seen before, and annihilating their
- 6:00Speaker 1: defense industrial base. We've done all of it. Their navy
- 6:03Speaker 1: is gone, their air force is gone, their missiles are
- 6:06Speaker 1: just about used up or beaten. Taken together, these actions
- 6:10Speaker 1: will cripple Iran military, crush their ability to support terrorist proxies,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and deny them the ability to build a nuclear bomb.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Our armed forces have been extraordinary. There's never been anything
- 6:24Speaker 1: like it militarily. Everyone is talking about it, and tonight
- 6:28Speaker 1: I'm pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are
- 6:33Speaker 1: nearing completion. As we celebrate this progress, we think especially
- 6:38Speaker 1: of the thirteen American warriors who have laid down their
- 6:41Speaker 1: lives in this fight to prevent our children from ever
- 6:45Speaker 1: having to face a nuclear Iran.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Clearly, President Trump understands that the message he has to
- 6:52Speaker 3: explain to not only the US but to the world
- 6:54Speaker 3: is that it's unacceptable for rand to ever get a
- 6:56Speaker 3: nuclear weapon. There also is another part of this story, though,
- 7:00Speaker 3: that's extremely important, and that is the strait of hormos
- 7:04Speaker 3: and what will happen next. With the President saying this
- 7:08Speaker 3: not only to every American but also to other countries
- 7:11Speaker 3: around the world, including our allies.
- 7:15Speaker 1: The countries of the world that do receive oil through
- 7:18Speaker 1: the hormone strait must take care of that passage. They
- 7:21Speaker 1: must cherish it. They must grab it and cherish it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: They can do it easily. We will be helpful, but
- 7:29Speaker 1: they should take the lead in protecting the oil that
- 7:31Speaker 1: they so desperately depend on. So to those countries that
- 7:35Speaker 1: can't get fuel, many of which refuse to get involved
- 7:39Speaker 1: in the decapitation of our n we had to do
- 7:41Speaker 1: it ourselves. I have a suggestion. Number one, buy oil
- 7:45Speaker 1: from the United States of America. We have plenty, We
- 7:48Speaker 1: have so much. And number two, build up some delayed courage.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Should have done it before, should have done it with us,
- 7:55Speaker 1: as we asked. Go to the strait and just take it,
- 7:59Speaker 1: protect it, use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated.
- 8:05Speaker 1: The hard part is done, so it should be easy.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And in any event, when this conflict is over, the
- 8:11Speaker 1: strait will open up naturally. It'll just open up naturally.
- 8:15Speaker 1: They're going to want to be able to sell oil
- 8:17Speaker 1: because that's all they have to try and rebuild. It
- 8:20Speaker 1: will resume the flowing, and the gas prices will rapidly
- 8:25Speaker 1: come back down.
- 8:26Speaker 3: President Trump also said that the US is prepared economically
- 8:31Speaker 3: to confront the effects of Iran's terror attacks on the
- 8:34Speaker 3: Strait of Hormuz on the oil takers. And this is
- 8:37Speaker 3: what the President said, you can expect.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Many Americans have been concerned to see the recent rise
- 8:43Speaker 1: in gasoline prices here at home. This short term increase
- 8:47Speaker 1: has been entirely the result of the Iranian regime launching
- 8:51Speaker 1: de range terror attacks against commercial oil tankers and neighboring
- 8:55Speaker 1: countries that have nothing to do with the conflict. This
- 8:59Speaker 1: is yet more proof that Iran can never be trusted
- 9:03Speaker 1: with nuclear weapons. They will use them, and they will
- 9:05Speaker 1: use them quickly. It would lead to decades of extortion,
- 9:10Speaker 1: economic pain, and instability worse than we can ever imagine.
- 9:15Speaker 1: The United States has never been better prepared economically to
- 9:19Speaker 1: confront this threat. You all know that now.
- 9:22Speaker 3: The President also wanted to make it very clear to
- 9:25Speaker 3: everyone that was watching, that would include the bad guys
- 9:28Speaker 3: in Iran, that America is not done. This also is
- 9:32Speaker 3: very similar to the wording that we've seen used by Israel.
- 9:36Speaker 3: They're not done yet either. One thing does seem to
- 9:39Speaker 3: be clear. We are going to wrap this up within weeks,
- 9:43Speaker 3: not months, And as the President closed things out, this
- 9:46Speaker 3: is what he had to say to the world.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Yet if during this period of time no deal is made,
- 9:51Speaker 1: we have our eyes on key targets. If there is
- 9:55Speaker 1: no deal, we are going to hit each and every
- 9:57Speaker 1: one of their electric generating very hard, and probably simultaneously.
- 10:03Speaker 1: We have not hit their oil, even though that's the
- 10:06Speaker 1: easiest target of all because it would not give them
- 10:09Speaker 1: even a small chance of survival or rebuilding. But we
- 10:14Speaker 1: could hit it and it would be gone. And there's
- 10:17Speaker 1: not a thing they could do about it. They have
- 10:20Speaker 1: no anti aircraft equipment, Their radar is one hundred percent annihilated.
- 10:26Speaker 1: We are unstoppable as a military force. The nuclear sites
- 10:31Speaker 1: that we obliterated with the B two bombers have been
- 10:34Speaker 1: hit so hard that it would take months to get
- 10:37Speaker 1: near the nuclear dust, and we have it under intense
- 10:41Speaker 1: satellite surveillance and control. If we see them make a move,
- 10:46Speaker 1: even a move for it, will hit them with missiles
- 10:50Speaker 1: very hard. Again, we have all the cards, they have none.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's very important that we keep this conflict in perspective.
- 10:58Speaker 3: So there you have it in the United States of America,
- 11:01Speaker 3: laying it out thirty one days in Operation Epic Fury.
- 11:06Speaker 3: It's abundantly clear. Despite some in the media pretending otherwise,
- 11:09Speaker 3: this has been a resounding military triumph. The objectives are
- 11:13Speaker 3: clear as well from the start, and the President says
- 11:16Speaker 3: we're executing it with overwhelming force. We expect to wrap
- 11:20Speaker 3: it up in a matter of weeks, not months, and
- 11:24Speaker 3: that is exactly what the President wanted you to hear
- 11:27Speaker 3: from the White House.
