- 0:00[SPEAKER_05]: I've been!
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Wife!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what we're doing today?
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we just got done doing a couple of Q&As and prior to that, we read Matthew Chapter 5.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: I really wanted you to comment on my brilliant show so we're doing a live discord tonight and what we've you've been noisy noisy all night so I No, I've got nothing left.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's already it's already gone You're just a guy's one of my responses you had to be here for the live discord earlier and you know You can do that by clicking on the link in the show notes and then you would have caught
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: my sign earlier.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: And no, no, no.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_05]: You don't even remember.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_05]: You just ignore me completely and carry on.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: So the last chapter we did with regard to Matthew was chapter five.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, little Matty chapter five Yeah, which was the beginning of Jesus and the sermon on the Mount.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, it wasn't the beginning of Jesus That's the beginning of the beginning of the sermon of the Mount.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_05]: It was the beginning of the sermon on the Mount and in the Mount was Mount Nibbo Probably maybe Probably no Oh no, I'm confusing that with the mountain that
- 1:13[SPEAKER_05]: Um, the devil took him up to and tempted him with.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_05]: Who was like, jump, jump, do it.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we covered that in the Q&A.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that was the knee bow.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I feel like to knee bow mountain be too high for the turn on the mountain.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: They'd be like, what did you say?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're way too fucking high up there, dude.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I don't know what mountain this.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_05]: There's never mind sure.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably just a small hill It's probably yeah, like it's you know what I mean like it's even be a balcony It's a vantage point from wherever the other people are let's be honest He'd probably just opened his doors and is like talking out his balcony could be who knows?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean we don't have video of it so we won't we'll never know for sure.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_05]: That's regrettable
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: It really is actually the fact that we don't have video of Jesus is one of the biggest travesties that there is.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_05]: If you could tell time, no, I can tell time.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_05]: If you could travel in time, would you go back to Jesus' time and try to catch that on video?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I even really believe that Jesus is the Jesus that we speak of.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't know that the Jesus that actually existed, which there's a lot in the count.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: There's, yeah, they're walking around.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's very questionable how much of this.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: if any of it actually happened the way it said to have happened.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: So like that aspect of things, I for clarity, given the how important this is to society, yes, obviously I would love to go back and find out what the fuck happened.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know that it would be easy to discern what is what?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's all.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: But for sure, yeah, I would go.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: I would check it out, see what's up.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: We're beginning the instrument of the mouth.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: What's the instrument on the mouth?
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: A few chapter five.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's where Jesus said is you said it's the the Piatitudes which I I don't even really fucking know what that means.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we'll get into it in our Q&A over chapter five six and seven Because that's like that's like Jesus speak.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's like it's all the ready and and I don't know those things I've heard the word before but I didn't know I don't I don't I don't really know what that means exactly
- 3:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I don't either.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: But we had a bunch of bumper sticker slogans.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_05]: We did, we did.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: We had Jesus telling us that our thoughts are crimes.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, thought crime.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_05]: I love that for me.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_05]: And I have lots of thoughts that they are all over the place.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And also Christians must hate this part.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: But he said that all of the old laws from the Old Testament still apply.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm going to have so much to say about that because I researched a lot of chapter five already and I'm so excited for when we do our Q&A.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so far, I've really enjoyed the Q&A's over this because it's been like, it's taking what we read in the Old Testament and we're digging in even further on a lot of this stuff because now they're trying to fulfill these fucking prophecies.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_05]: And sometimes it's like, no, that wasn't even a prophecy as, huh?
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: But it's it's been fun because like we actually have the the base knowledge of the Old Testament going into this.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: So reading this is is actually more fun than I thought it might be.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_05]: And I want to be fair.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_05]: The New Testament is eminently more readable, eminently more readable than the Old Testament.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_05]: It's much less boring and difficult to read.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's a little more ready.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's one of the biggest things to be complained about in the old testament was how unreadable it fucking was.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: It was bad.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of again, they, they, they've thrown out his way too.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's just so much wrong with it.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, that was Matthew chapter five.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Little Mac.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, the sermon on the mountain.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: And that means that today we're going to be reading little Maddie chapter six.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do this.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_05]: Don't keep.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_05]: All right, we are hopping into a little matty chapter six with my long suffering husband and I am going to read now about Jesus with what my long suffering Why am I your long suffering husband because I was harassing you
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: And when no one like him in between that no one heard that you're just jumping in and just saying that.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: And it sounds like no context.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_05]: No context.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, did you want the context?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, it definitely don't want the context.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_05]: The context is this.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_05]: I was harassing my husband and he was not here for it.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_05]: And then we had to record and so that's what we're doing.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, I love you husband.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but you wouldn't kind of have you're here at the live discord you would have that link down there You could you could have you could have heard the whole thing.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: You could have I went on a whole diet drive about football Texas.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, now we're gonna talk about Jesus and go Jesus.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_05]: Not no No, are you sure?
- 6:26[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure all right Here we go, okay, be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them
- 6:36[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I think the same mental image just popped up in both of our lives.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_05]: Every Christian ever basically all of them praying over their meal.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God, Wendy's so performant of like, no, it's not just that it's like when people say that they're going to pray for you.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, just shit like that.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like where they like inject themselves onto you in order to show how Christian they are or whatever.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's so off putting to me.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, apparently this shit works and gets people to go to church, but I don't I don't I don't like to me.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just like what the fuck guess what happens when you do that you're going to go to Jesus if you do you will have no reward from your father in heaven damn
- 7:23[SPEAKER_05]: I wonder if they know that.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the more we're reading this sermon on the mouth, the more I'm like, maybe most of the Christians I know are fucked.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_05]: They are fucked.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think they're getting their justice rewards.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_05]: All right, so when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do when the synagogues and on the streets to be honored by others.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_05]: I think that those are metaphorical trumpets.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think that those are actual, but, but, but, but, but.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: No, obviously, it just saying don't, and that like, you should, that's why some people give and don't want their name attached to things.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, which I think is, is noble in a way.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think that there is something to be said for just giving to give and to, you know, be good.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: And for the sake of being good, right?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: And not for the honor of the nation, right?
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, I kind of try to like, I'm not Christian, but I try to operate in my life in a way that is similar to that.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like I like to do things for people without.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_05]: Much do we might tell each other, but that's more of a this is how my day went.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, this is what I did Right and I like doing that good thing like it felt good to do that sure, but it's not to be late and so now you should totally suck my deck
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: No, but I just, I think it's nice, I think something that we don't do in this world as much as we should is to acknowledge other people's existence and to treat them with respect and just
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: even just acknowledging people.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my gosh, that makes me think of something that kid told me that like this haunts me.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_05]: This literally haunted me when they told me this.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_05]: They have a friend who had gone through homelessness.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_05]: And so this friend had um
- 9:22[SPEAKER_05]: done begging on street corners because they had no other options and something that that friend said was that 90% of the people that walk by try not to make eye contact with you and to avoid seeing you on purpose and I was like well you know that makes sense it's hard to
- 9:53[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I mean, it literally brought me to tears.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_05]: The person said, when people don't see you often enough and over and over, you start to wonder if you even exist and if you are real and if it's even worth getting up the next day because are you even alive?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_05]: I just, like, for whatever reason, like, the homelessness, I acknowledged that that happens and I hate it.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_05]: And the fact that my kid was in conversation with somebody who was enduring this, like that broke my heart and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, right?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_05]: But these are things I know intellectually.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_05]: For whatever reason, the...
- 10:40[SPEAKER_05]: do I even exist because nobody looks at me and they don't even see me like that was the part that drove home emotionally for me.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_05]: What people go through.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: And then that goes to my point is just acknowledging someone is.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: is something more than than what generally happens these days.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: Most people go through the world, even just normal people, and don't make eye contact, don't say hello, don't, you know, there's so much inability to reach out to that person that's just next to you in life that I feel like even that is something, you know, and we just don't do it nearly enough anymore.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's important to do those types of things and I guess I should point out for that matter that Jesus has a good point.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_05]: Jesus has a good point here.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_05]: He's saying, do be nice, do give to the needy, but don't be like ostentatious about it.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_05]: Just be good for goodness sakes.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_05]: Whoa.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with that.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_05]: Truly I tell you they have received their reward in full.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_05]: Those who just get forgiveness.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_05]: But when you get to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_05]: Then your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I think it's.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not sure what the left hand, I don't know what the right hand is doing.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_05]: I wonder if that's related to some kind of like administrative thing like
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it goes, it sounds to me like it's just talking more about don't do it with the intent of recognition, right?
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I agree with that.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like you shouldn't be doing it for even the, you shouldn't even be doing it for the things of the person.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: You should be doing it because it's something you genuinely want to do to help.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: She may have a show of human, you know.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_05]: And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites for they love to pray, standing in the synagogues and on the street corners and in the burger king.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they be praying all over the fucking place.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: 50 yard line, you know, I mean this.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's for lift everybody they're like, look at me.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_05]: Truly, I tell you, they have received their reward and full.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_05]: that's all I get.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_05]: They're done.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_05]: Jesus is having it.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now, and these are things that I kind of like understood to be true, right?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's nice to see these exact words, but like, I knew that these things were kind of in there somewhere, and when I see people doing these performative, like, religious acts out in the world, I'm like, you so haven't read,
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: And he's saying about your fucking religion.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I know you really need to read Matthew, guys.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_05]: Matthew is telling you and it's the literal, like, first book of the new testimony.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_05]: Like, just read Matthew and Jesus will tell you what to do.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_05]: You're doing it wrong.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if the other guys go against it and maybe those are the ones that they're following.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure they have built-in excuses to contradict why this is okay versus like they're like, why I am just praying to myself, but I'm, you know, I do that everywhere, and how do you argue that?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, they're going to come up with some reason why it's okay that they were
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, really?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Can I follow you around with a secret camera for like a year and just double check you on that?
- 14:28[SPEAKER_05]: Cause I don't, I don't believe you.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_05]: I really don't believe you.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_05]: And anyway, it doesn't matter if you do it in secret and at the, you know, football goal line.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_05]: Like, it says don't do the goal line.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_05]: Okay?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_05]: It says don't do that.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: And this is Jesus saying this.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus is saying it's in a fucking red.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_05]: It's in red, don't do that shit.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_05]: Stop praying in the fucking book.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, tell us that Paul wins in the end.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, but Jesus is saying this.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_05]: Well, no wonder Christians are like Jesus too woke.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, yeah, he's like telling you to fucking behave.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: That was a contradiction to you.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing even in the New Testament.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: He was too woke.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_05]: Wow.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know That's fine.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out down the road, but I mean I'm just I'm just saying like if you guys love Jesus so much and my Jesus is this Gee I mean Jesus is Jesus right apparently apparently they Pick which version they like and they don't like buddy Jesus the red Jesus word said, you know, don't do this shit
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's all I'm saying the bread that Jesus knows.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_05]: I like that song Jesus is just all right with me and so far in this chapter He's all right with me, but when you pray go into your room close the door and pray to your father who is unseen Then your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, this is don't be flat in yeah, keep it to yourself.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm liking this so far
- 15:58[SPEAKER_05]: And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, is this saying that?
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's hilarious.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_05]: It's just a wife.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_05]: They're doing all the time.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_05]: Don't be like that.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be babbling like wife.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_05]: It takes like stopping and noisy and singing and being silly, stop it.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_05]: Um, okay, do not keep on babbling like pagans.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_05]: For they think they will be heard because of their many words.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_05]: Oh god damn, this is an enemy in the heart.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_05]: This is hitting me in the heart.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: I can't hold air.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_05]: It's a whole man.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_05]: I do talk a lot.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_05]: I do babble.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_05]: And I do have a lot of work.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're goddamn pagan.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_05]: It's because I'm a pagan.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_05]: Do not be like them.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_05]: For your father knows what you need before you ask him.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: So why did you even have to pray at all?
- 16:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: If he already knows.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_05]: Where's the line between?
- 16:47[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, can I never mind?
- 16:53[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what are you supposed to be doing?
- 16:55[SPEAKER_05]: You're awesome.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_05]: And I fear you, the end.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Is that it?
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: this that oh here we go here we go okay this then is how you should pray oh we got a structure okay it's it's the our father it's who are in heaven yeah that one okay do you know it how will be I name the kingdom of calm I will be done on earth this isn't heaven give us the stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses we forgive those trespasses against us we this not attempt to attempt to attemptation but delivers from evil for that is the kingdom
- 17:27[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my gosh, I'm so impressed.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know you knew that.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I know it, but I had to learn it as a song in elementary school.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: I had to learn it because I was a scouts.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: It was something we said all the time in scouts.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_05]: Holy moly.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I was so embarrassed that I was like, when I first started scouts, they started saying this, I was just mumbling and like, what the fuck?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: Cause you didn't like it.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: What is going on?
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought you just told us.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought you just told us.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_05]: And everybody just knows it.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so I had to learn it in secret kind of.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, well, hold on.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_05]: Let me write that down.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_05]: Can you guys go slower?
- 18:04[SPEAKER_05]: What are those words again?
- 18:06[SPEAKER_05]: At least, it kind of like follows on itself, so it isn't difficult to learn, but...
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: True.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, so this then is how you should pray.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_05]: Our father in heaven, how it would be your name.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_05]: Sorry.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, okay.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_05]: Our father in heaven, how it would be your name.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_05]: Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_05]: It sounds like you and I learned the King James version.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_05]: probably add probably give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one for if you forgive other people when they send against you your Heavenly Father will also forgive you but if you do not forgive others their sins your Father will not forgive your sins
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I like the one that the other one rolls off the tongue better to me, but that's probably because I learned it.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, yeah, I the one I learned since it was like the song version it was very dramatic like I can specifically remember Mr. Bliss the piano teacher.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even know there was a song version.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I don't know if everybody knows this.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_05]: but that's what I'm telling you the story.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, when I was an elementary school, we had a music teacher in a Mr. Bliss, and he played the piano, and he was very serious about his piano play.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_05]: It's so we would do, do, do, do, do.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Father, who walked in heaven.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: Halloween be thy name.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: I came to come thy will be done.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, doesn't, isn't heaven.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're making me feel like it was down.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, rock.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_05]: It was so rock the way he played it.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is my dad should cover this.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I can like picture him in my mind.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_05]: Dunn-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_05]: like he played those Ivory's, he pounded them.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_05]: I can't tell you enough.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_05]: It was very, I don't feel like he was feeling the religiosity of it.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_05]: He was definitely into the piano of it, okay?
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: This was in school.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: You were learning the song for the first time.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_05]: In a department of defense school.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, because it was overseas.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_05]: It was a Dodd school.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Talk about like very conflicted separation of church and state issues.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_05]: And it was even, it wasn't even a thing.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, what is this?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_05]: And they're like the Lord's prayer.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, what's the Lord?
- 20:59[SPEAKER_05]: What's the prayer?
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about many, many years ago.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, yeah, I would have been through ladies.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: But I, I don't recall learning.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: there was one teacher that tried to read like a goddess book in Spanish to us because she was a Spanish teacher and she really wanted to real bad.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: So she did, but that's the most I remember like God entering into my education.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, that's the most
- 21:24[SPEAKER_05]: I recall and because it was it was for music class sure it wasn't specifically like we're learning religious stuff and that's the only religious stuff that we learned.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, we also saying best for a public.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_05]: Um, you know, Beth, I hear you calling, nope, but I can't come home right now.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, this me and the boys are playing.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_05]: And we just can't find the same.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_05]: No, I don't know what you're going to do.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_05]: No, it's rock ballad.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_05]: 80s hairband.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: I probably know that if I heard the actual song, I'm not going to pick you up on what you're singing sometimes.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 22:07[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe not because like it wasn't like one of their more famous ones, but yeah, it was a decent song, but yeah, we had to sing that at a concert.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: Now we've been singing Angie, I think got that one.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_05]: Angie!
- 22:23[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, this was best.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_05]: And what's really funny is that we've had this conversation before.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you're probably right.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_05]: And I've played it for you before.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're probably right about that too.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_05]: And the song like it starts off with like ten minutes of
- 22:38[SPEAKER_05]: Like, it opens with like this like airy, like beautiful, like, Dunna-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: So well, different words even.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 23:07[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_05]: Very important, apparently.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because there's different versions of it.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and because the Bible isn't always the same forever.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's the one that Jesus says in the book of Matthew, but apparently there's other versions of it in other chapters.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: Because obviously this is God's word.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_05]: But this is how you pray.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_05]: Did you pray?
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean either.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_05]: I say.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: I just
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: Be very good to be a mumble.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_05]: When you fast, you know, all those times that you do that?
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: Not often.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think I'd ever known you to fast.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_05]: That's not entirely true, but... Then I'd be for you to get blood drawn, maybe?
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right, yeah.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_05]: Like, get your annual physical?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, your brother'd be fast in all the time and telling you, you should fast.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: He does, he does.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's all about the fast.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_05]: He's all about the fast.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not quite sure why, but...
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: He says it's really healthy.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: Again, there's always this new, like, fat of, like, how to be the healthiest in the best way to eat, and I'm like, you guys have a new one every five minutes, so I don't know which one to follow.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're just gonna keep...
- 24:16[SPEAKER_05]: Give it a hamburger bitch.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_05]: So when you do fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: Quick look at somber.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, somber when I'm fast, and I'm gonna look somber.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_05]: For they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, this is the answer I get.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_05]: It's the arm across the forehead going,
- 24:39[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, what was me?
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's definitely on the show.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's the letting everybody know how.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_05]: You guys.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: But you're suffering for your religion.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, it's so hungry.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_05]: I'm fasting right now.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_05]: You know how.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_05]: You got a fast.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_05]: You know, because I'm such a fast ray.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_05]: I do be fasting all the time.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: I fast the best in the most.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_05]: I'm the my fasting is the strongest.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I have the biggest faster and I like to pound that fast right into your fast.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_05]: but they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting right truly I tell you they have received their reward and full that's all they get they don't get no more they're done i'm done with them bitches them them disfigure faced fasting bitches yeah i'm done with them that's Jesus don't like he don't even trip with that Jesus twenty twenty six
- 25:36[SPEAKER_05]: But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your fucking face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you're fasting, but only to your father who was unseen, and your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want to do?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Does it hide the fact that you're fasting?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Well, make you look like you're more, you know.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_05]: I think you think, go watch your normal business.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_05]: Watch your face as you do, oil your beard.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_05]: You know, don't make it obvious.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_05]: Like don't do anything different.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Got it.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_05]: Like you're normally oiling your beard.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_05]: Keep doing that.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_05]: Don't go about going.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_05]: It's done because I'm such a faster, you know?
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_05]: Home your home your hair, put on your hat.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_05]: Do you think you're a thing?
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: But you're pomade in.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, well you're beer, clean your ears, wash your hands after you pick.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: Try you and kid weren't here last night because you went with your parents and I was, so I watched your brother wear out though.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's fine.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's fine.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's why that's pomade.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's where we have pomade kid from.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, okay.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_05]: Pomade came from over there where I was.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's this Dapper Dan actually, but you know, okay.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't come from that, but that's why that's why you know it.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm not why I know it.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's why he came up today.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_05]: You knew Poemate from Eric.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, actually.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_05]: We know a guy named Eric and he was so 1950s rock and roll.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he was awesome.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_05]: You don't even know and he put Poemate in his hair.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_05]: That's what we were going to say.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_05]: Me too.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's so sad.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what happened to him.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_05]: Like I feel like we should do an internet search and way we should just, you know, say his name on our podcast.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: We should know.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: We should know.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_05]: He would not appreciate that.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_05]: It was very shy.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: But that would that would solve that might solve the problem.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_05]: And if there was a problem, you'll solve it.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_05]: Anyways, oil your fucking beard bitch.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_05]: Um, I'm getting old, so I'm starting to get like, um, whiskers on my chin as women of a certain age do.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_05]: So I've got to start oiling my beard.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_05]: What?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_05]: Wait, you look like you're embarrassed on my behalf.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, I'm not embarrassed when women hit their 50s.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_05]: They start going through menopause and growing beers.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_05]: And maybe if more women spoke up about it.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: Just to be clear, wife does not have a beard.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_05]: But it would be fine if I did which a lot of women do.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you're aware of this like no, I find with that a lot of women start having a lot of issues in their 50s They do start growing more hair and they need to get on hormone control sometimes because of it and I'm saying like it's an it's a fucking issue and so I I need to oil my beard too
- 28:22[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, that's all.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not fun making.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure literally pointing out a thing that I think would be better if more people were honest about that aging bodies start to do things unexpected and like why why should I be surprised that I'm growing more here's on my chin.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_05]: Honestly
- 28:42[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I feel like women should have been telling me this shit that, oh, you're going to find a few more hairs on your chin than you used to have, you know, as you age, as you get old.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_05]: And it's nothing to be ashamed about.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_05]: It just means I lived.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_05]: Hooray, I lived.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_05]: God damn, anyways, do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: Uh-oh.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: Uh-oh.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: I knew a lot of people that are kind of fucked on that.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_05]: Mm.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_05]: I know some people with airplanes, and islands, and... Run country.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_05]: Gold.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's a lot of problematic people with regard to that.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_05]: Sneakers and watches, and all kinds of merch.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, stop storing up for yourselves treasures on earth where mods and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_05]: You know, firstly things.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_05]: But store up for yourselves treasures and heaven, you know, good acts.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_05]: Where mods and vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, heavens pretty.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Also, if you're poor, and you, you know, then people tend to not break in a steal because you're poor.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, that is true.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's nothing to get.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_05]: We should know for where your treasure is there, your heart will be also homeless where your heart is.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_05]: And that's where your treasure is, too.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: I do say, yeah, that's, that's a nice sentiment, but I don't like the idea of saving up everything.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: for death right you know like this is this is the whole thing where you you're going to be your everything's going to be awesome in the afterlife yeah like no you there is there is no fucking afterlife just be awesome now you know you could have both Netflix and good deeds right is what i'm saying but there's no reason that you can't live a good
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: let's just go with wholesome as the word.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: The good wholesome life and not also have fun and enjoy your time, but a lot of people, but you don't have to get one for the other.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, there could be a nice medium where you have several
- 30:59[SPEAKER_05]: um, subscriptions to various streaming services and maybe you eat out a couple times a week and you have a nice decent car that runs with air conditioning.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know, you could have those things, but do you need three yachts?
- 31:16[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think you do.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the thing that you need in order to be a decent person is basically just empathy.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know like we kind of talked about that before actually I think we did a whole episode about empathy and and the whole the whole thing and that's just I think that distinguishing factor between
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: What I would consider a genuine, generally a good person versus not a good person is the level of empathy they have for other human beings and how they treat other human beings, you know, like it has nothing to do with how much money you have, how much, you know, whatever, but if you are able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and see what they're going through.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: that makes all the difference in the world.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it doesn't have, it doesn't have anything to do with how many toys you save after you die.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't have it.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: It just has to do with how you treat others in this work.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_05]: Look, I have a lot of washing tape.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: You do.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_05]: And a lot of stickers.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anybody would want to steal that.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_05]: But what I'm seeing is, I have a lot of it.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_05]: But I also use it in my arts and crafts.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm not just hoarding it, for hoarding sake.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: No, you genuinely get joy from those things.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see it.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's literally no value in those items.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, you're holding it.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're hoarding what most people would call junk.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_05]: No, I hoard so much junk y'all.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_05]: It's true.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_05]: One of my favorite things that I've hoarded is this Godzilla toy that, and I'm looking at it right now.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_05]: And it's got a push button.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_05]: And when you push it, it goes,
- 33:07[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah three times three times yeah and his eyes light up and he's next to a building and he kind of moves and shakes the building and you can hear the people
- 33:21[SPEAKER_05]: And it's, I love it so much, and battery ran out.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_05]: And we never, yeah, and we never replace the battery.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_05]: And so like the compromise is that I get to keep it out on display.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_05]: But it doesn't make noise.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, you just out of the new battery into a recently.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: It does work right now.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't work.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: It does.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_05]: It does.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_05]: Go try it.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't work.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_05]: It's not going to work.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_05]: It's not going to work because it's broken.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my God.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_05]: I told you that my life just changed you put the fucking battery in for whatever reason I thought I didn't work.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like I'm so happy right now.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_05]: That just changed my life.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_05]: And what really makes me happy is that like I had this keychain, I had the word love and so I hung that around his neck because that's just ironic and funny, okay, anyway, I'm a hoarder.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_05]: that guy's funny.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_05]: It's so funny.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_05]: I love that thing.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_05]: It brings me so much joy.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's why it's literally up on a shelf by itself, except for your Skellington mug.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Skellington mug.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: That was an entire shelf in our dining room.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's Godzilla and Jack Skellington mug.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_05]: toys.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_05]: If you're going to surround yourself, it should be with fun things, not fucking islands and airplanes and yachts.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_05]: Just find some toys you like, you know?
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what's been like, race cars?
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 35:08[SPEAKER_05]: No models, model cars, don't you like models, do you want to do a model I would do a model airplane?
- 35:14[SPEAKER_05]: That's what I was trying to say, model airplane.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't, I don't like cars.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_05]: No, you don't.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know why I said that.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but you would like to build model airplanes.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_05]: You told me you thought that would be fun.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I used to do when I was a kid.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: I enjoyed it.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_05]: That would be fun.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, you don't need a yacht much less three yachts.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_05]: That's too big.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I don't know where I was going with all of that.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: I have no clue.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's just kind of rambling.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_05]: Jesus doesn't like you to own an island.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_05]: I am convinced of that.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm sure that's probably correct.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: Because Jesus were real.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_05]: OK, yeah.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_05]: I was going with the book that we're reading.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_05]: Listen, the eyes, the lamp of the body.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_05]: OK.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_05]: If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_05]: But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_05]: If then the light within you.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: But the whole mind and your fact.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_05]: Probably.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_05]: If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness?
- 36:19[SPEAKER_05]: This sounds very ableist.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it really does.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_00]: But remember, they don't like people who are disabled.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you know, Jesus does someone need to be blind.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_05]: Blind people can go fuck themselves, of course.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus, can't he just heal you?
- 36:32[SPEAKER_05]: He has in the Bible that he's going around healing people.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: They said he healed people.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: The Jesus, it didn't say he's, I mean, but like, you got their demons out of them.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_05]: Surely he can cure their blindness.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_05]: But he's saying stopping blind stupid.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_05]: Like, that feels so ableist.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_00]: It really does.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not, I don't like that version of Jesus.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_05]: Jesus needs to get better.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_05]: I don't, Jesus people can't help their blindness and their eye problems.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_05]: And if you could solve them, Jesus, then maybe you should do that.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_05]: You know, that's my take.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, anyways, moving on.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_05]: No one can serve two masters.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, if you have two bosses, that is difficult, unless your bosses aren't idiots.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if there are two separate jobs, it's not as hard as you get it work more.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_05]: And like kids have a mom and a dad, and they've learned how to serve both of them, and play them off of each other.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you go and you ask mom something, and mom says, go ask your dad, and then you go ask your dad something, and he says, go ask your mom, and you're like, mom already said yes.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_05]: You know, right that that's serving to master's fine.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's a manipulating to master's.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, I work for a husband and wife who owned a company and that was not the funnest because she was the capable one and he was an idiot and by he was the owner.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_05]: And we weren't allowed to recognize that he was an idiot.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_05]: And you know, I have a problem with that, which I now understand is because I'm autistic and I don't understand social rules that make you not acknowledge things out loud.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite story from that job is that you got fired by the husband.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then the wife was like, we can't do that.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_05]: It was because I was late too many times, but then he he fired me in the middle of a giant project and like my jaw was just on the table and I was like I just kept saying, but after I finished this project though right like I just I couldn't fathom I was like, but after I finished this though right and he was like no pack your stuff and I was like,
- 38:49[SPEAKER_05]: Have you talked to her about this?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I don't, and she was like, hang on.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_05]: And so she took him back to the back office and talked about it.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_05]: And she came back and was like, okay, here's the thing.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you're gonna be my employee now.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, okay.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_05]: And she was like, so you need to stop being late.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, okay, but I didn't, though.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_05]: But it was fine because we're card.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_05]: Anyways, you can't you either you will hate the one and love the other as I did in my job.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_05]: Or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_05]: That's the same as hate the one and love the other.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think you's talking about God.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_05]: So whatever, but like you cannot serve both God and money.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's what he says.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_05]: That's what it says.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:36[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_05]: That makes sense, I guess.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_05]: So rich people need to get up off it.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_05]: They're not being Jesus's wife.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: This is not conducive to people keeping their money.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus wants you.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_05]: Jesus doesn't mind you being rich, but you need to give a lot of it away and stop hoarding it.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_05]: It's not hoarding wealth.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's in the red.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_05]: It's not my fault.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_05]: It's what Jesus said.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_05]: So you need to sell your island.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's in the red like my bank account.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_05]: Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_05]: What you will eat or drink or about your body, what you will wear, is life is not life more than food and the body more than clothes.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I have to worry about things like being dressed in public, because if I didn't worry about that, I would either be naked or wearing pajamas all the time.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_05]: because that's my speed.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_05]: Look at the birds of the fucking air.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_05]: They do not sew or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, that's not true.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes birds do store shit in barns.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_05]: I've seen your mom's barn.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_05]: And the herbord's story shit in there.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_05]: Are you not much more valuable than they?
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I mean,
- 40:57[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not quite sure.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's just trying to save, see how, but that doesn't, like, our birds going to heaven.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: I take care of birds.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_05]: I take care of birds.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_05]: Do you think I can't take care of you?
- 41:09[SPEAKER_05]: Is that what he's saying?
- 41:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's just like, they're doing it right.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: God's feeding them.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: And, but, you know, also, I don't know.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_05]: his eye is on the sparrow.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: He also killed a bunch of defeatists.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he's real like through the birds.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, he's like, oh, you want food?
- 41:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to kill a fuck ton of birds.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: And he threw a match.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he threw birds at down.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_05]: That was a thing in the desert.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I, I don't know.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: Those birds didn't get it real good from God.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: And what did they do?
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: What did they fucking do to deserve that shit?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_05]: I don't really understand, okay, I know that I'm just being silly, okay, but I really don't understand what he's saying there.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_05]: And I really, is it about storing, I think he's just sitting well.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: The things that you need are just, yeah, it's about wealth and it's about, because the bird, all you need is that his God will provide for you like the birds, the birds get their food, they don't need to store a bunch of shit to survive and God provides.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: Trust in me.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: Trust in God, right?
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's what he's trying to say.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_05]: Remember that Alfred Hitchcock movie the birds?
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_05]: That was scary.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_05]: I saw it when I was a kid and it was so scary and I think about it now, and it's like, no, that's still kind of scary.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_05]: And a bunch of birds are coming at you.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_05]: Come on.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_05]: You'd be a little twig down, wouldn't you?
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_05]: Like, different.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: I was driving by, I was driving on the road in the country and this, this,
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: I looked up on this tree, and there was like this.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: murder of crows all circle around this tree like they were in a circle it was a devil tree and one of the fucking crows was like had his wings spread out right shut up standing up and I was like what the fuck is happening there haven't a goddamn crochet on some there or something what is happening up there it was creepy was creepy like was there a witch or a crows are not small birds no they're not
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: Not yellow, not long, not like Sesame Street.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: No, yeah, they are not small birds and to see that.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_05]: A motor of crows surrounding one with his arms lifted.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was through the heaven.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_00]: Really, really weird.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: With their, with their, with their witch around, slay.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're really smart, right?
- 43:44[SPEAKER_05]: I kept asking you, was there a witch around?
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: A witch?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_05]: A witch?
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I didn't scour the fucking area for a witch, I don't know.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just curious because, like, that made me... What a witch do.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_05]: Because she would be, like, leading this... You think witch is so close?
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: Is that a thing?
- 44:03[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I didn't think Crow's would do a say on this, like, guys.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_05]: So what the fuck do I know?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what they're doing.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody's just been sitting around jabbering or jabbering to each other and then one dude stressed his arms out.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, ah, yeah.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_00]: And that was it.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: But it looked weird.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's all.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: OK. And as far as, you know, things go, crows just popping up and, you know, crows doing that thing.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: It was, it was, it was, it was, it was, they are very smart.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_05]: They are very smart.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_05]: They can be trained.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Crows are really smart.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, can any one of you by worrying at a single hour to your life?
- 44:45[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, sobly.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if I'm worried that the newscaster is correct, that there is a tornado coming at our house, and I worry about it.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_05]: And you get down in the basement.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: I get down in the basement.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: I might have added an hour to my life, or more.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_05]: I think what we have here is, and I'm going to communicate.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_05]: Hey.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_05]: I think he's trying to ask one question, and we're taking it literal.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: No, I know.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: I, that one, that one was maybe a step too far.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_05]: No, I just, like, I see what he's asking, but I also see, like, no, yeah, actually, like, what do you mean by worrying?
- 45:26[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_05]: Like, taking in the news.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: Ready?
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: And our discord is, he says that if you worry about your blood pressure and go to the doctor, yes.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_05]: That's what I'm saying.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what do you mean by worrying?
- 45:36[SPEAKER_05]: Do you mean, like, being concerned and proactive and taking good advice or do you mean, like, just having anxiety and running
- 45:47[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what do you mean by worrying?
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, because definitely there are things that could extend your life.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_05]: So let's assume that he is not using worrying in the sense of concern and that he is using it as ridiculous anxiety.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, that makes sense.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, because that goes better with what he's saying, because can concern make you have a longer life, yes.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_05]: you know, because you're concerned about.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: But the act of having concern does not extend your life.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: The the the the feeling of that anxiety does not miss that's that's that's probably what he's getting that.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: That and also they didn't have a good of medical care back then so probably it's like a matter whether you went there for a high blood pressure or not so.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, yeah.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't extend your life back.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_05]: So he's saying stop worrying so much.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even have a aspirin.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_05]: And why do you worry about clothes?
- 46:42[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I could tell you why because if you walk out naked,
- 46:46[SPEAKER_05]: true, especially if you're a woman and you dare to show your titties in public, I mean, sometimes you can't even breastfeed in public without being arrested.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_05]: So that's why you worry about clothes.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_05]: But I think he's saying like,
- 47:02[SPEAKER_05]: fancy clothes, which I don't worry about fancy clothes.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_05]: I just worry about the bare minimum being dressed.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_05]: Um, can any one of you by worrying at a single hour to your life?
- 47:14[SPEAKER_05]: And why do you worry about clothes?
- 47:16[SPEAKER_05]: See how the flowers of the field grow?
- 47:19[SPEAKER_05]: They do not labor or spin.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_05]: Yet I tell you that not even so women in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_05]: Even so women wasn't wearing pretty things.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: I see.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_05]: But the flowers are
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think he's comparing Solomon to the people of today that worry about their clothes.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: The people of that time that are worry about their clothes.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: Not the flowers.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's seen the flower.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_05]: The flower?
- 47:46[SPEAKER_05]: Look, listen.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_05]: See how the flowers of the field grow.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_05]: They do not labor or spin.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_05]: Yet I tell you not even Solomon and all his splendor was dressed like one of these flowers.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I see, oh, I see, oh, yeah.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: I see.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_05]: If that is how God closed the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, you of little face?
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, God's going to clothe us.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_05]: He sent trust me.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_05]: I got this.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't need to go close shopping.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: If he just believe in God, he'll provide you close.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_05]: I know that's not true because I need to order a new underwear.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: But we also don't believe in God.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_05]: That is true.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_05]: No, you're right.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: We should go ask somebody that believes in God.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, Hey, this God ship you guys close from Amazon or something.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, where do you get your clothes at?
- 48:41[SPEAKER_05]: I know that my mom buys clothes.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just saying.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: God God sent it to them.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_05]: Also, I know that Southern Baptists love to dress up for church.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_05]: Like they don't just wear clothes, they get dressed up for church.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I know they didn't get that from God Bay.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_05]: No, they did not, they did not.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_05]: And also, they put on makeup and they do their hair big and they wear earrings.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, they dress up in their Sunday finest.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_05]: It's a big deal, because you've got to dress your best for God.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_05]: But here, Jesus is saying, but why, though, why you get in fancy?
- 49:21[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: Stop.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, in my understanding, the Jesus was that he would always like...
- 49:24[SPEAKER_05]: Jeans are fine.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he was always looking out for the downtrodden, the lesser, whatever, things like that.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_00]: Seems like he won't delift them up.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it doesn't sound like he's overly concerned with the niceties of life, you know?
- 49:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a say that he's all good, but like that aspect of it is definitely not you're trying to impress me.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_05]: He's saying stop don't worry about trying to impress each other or me.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me with feelings and press me with thoughts and press me with you know devotion and press me with the things that matter.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: Also not your clothes and you're afraid.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like the better dressed you are on Sunday probably the shittier you are during the week.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: It generally seems to hold true.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna
- 50:10[SPEAKER_00]: It seems to be a good indicator.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I would have to follow you around during the week for a few years.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_05]: But I bet that there's a pattern.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_00]: I should do a study on that.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_05]: How expensive are your earrings and makeup versus how much of a shitty person are you?
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: I bet that's exactly, but there's got to be a way.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_05]: I bet it ratios out.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody get a whole P right now.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_05]: Right now.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_05]: So do not worry, saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what shall we wear?
- 50:45[SPEAKER_05]: for the pagans run after all these things and you're heavenly father knows that you need them.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_05]: I don't feel like that's fair.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_05]: I do run after food, cause I'm hungry.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_05]: And I do run after drink because you've got to have water or you'll die.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well yeah.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_05]: And no amount of spirituality, you're gonna change that basic.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this is Sam.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_05]: And honestly, what shall we wear?
- 51:09[SPEAKER_05]: Like, look, I understand you're talking about fancy clothes, but it sounds like you're saying walk naked and you will get arrested.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_00]: Right, probably even back then.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm gonna need you to stop being so metaphorical, as speak clearly and say, look, drinking is fine, eating is fine, we're including is fine.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_05]: I'm saying stop being so fancy and spending extra.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: I have a question.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: If Jesus is words are in red, right?
- 51:37[SPEAKER_00]: So Jesus is words, but there's different interpretations of the Bible and they're all in red.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: How do we know which ones are actually Jesus' words?
- 51:45[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I'm going to say that the publisher could tell you.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_05]: I bet the inventor of the printing press has some things to say about it.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, they just popped in my head.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_05]: It's all Jesus' word.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_05]: He spoke so many languages, including Shakespearean English with the thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie thie th
- 52:11[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, um, stop worrying about food and drinking clothes.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_05]: We're bringing this home ready.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_05]: Sure.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_05]: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_05]: And all these things will be given to you as well.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_05]: Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_05]: Each day has enough trouble
- 52:42[SPEAKER_05]: So how do you feel about this?
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean overall overall it was not a bad chapter with regard to the I feel like he has a good message.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like it's It certainly puts into question a lot of the ways that
- 53:01[SPEAKER_00]: of what we know about Christianity and the way it operates in the way they behave.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how they behave.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_00]: It puts in a lot of that is questionable based on what this book, this chapter of this book.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_00]: The sermon of the Mount, like people talk about the speech all the time, right?
- 53:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_00]: As though it's like this big thing that indicates what they mean Christianity is.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, I don't think we're talking about the same speech, maybe.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_00]: And yet,
- 53:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're sitting here, we kind of this back and forth on the discord, and people are, you know, in our discord or telling us, like, well, John's going to change all that, right?
- 53:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm hearing this, and at some point we're going to get to that point, but it's the sermon on the mount.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_04]: Like, we've heard of this.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is like a pillar of what Christian
- 53:54[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently, we're going to have to rethink all this at some point when we get later into the Bible.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_05]: And this is already different from like, God, our father who, yeah, you know, yeah, this is such a different message from the Old Testament that it's, it's night and day.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_00]: But so, but I'm hearing this.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: I have yet another topic.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_05]: It's not just going to change from book to book.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_05]: It's going to change from, um, not just from Old Testament to New Testament, but from one disciple to the next, what the fuck?
- 54:23[SPEAKER_00]: Right, one of those disciples being Jesus, the literal son of God, apparently, according to the Bible.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_05]: And they're arguing about what he is.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one that we don't take as strongly as this poll dude.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what he is.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: Really, in my mind, makes zero sense.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_00]: But who am I to judge, right?
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just a pagan with the fuck away now.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_00]: We just go, we always go after those clothes and stuff.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know shit.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_05]: Look, I don't go after fancy brand name things.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_05]: I don't.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_05]: And I don't think really people should worry about brand name stuff.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_05]: Is that what he's talking about?
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's, I don't know.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking about people trying to impress others with the way that they're dressing.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: And not trying to impress God is my take on that.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's what I'm talking about.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: It this message that we heard in this chapter specifically lines up with what?
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I was told that Jesus is, but it's not the practice of what Jesus is, right?
- 55:34[SPEAKER_00]: People like to pitch this as the opening.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: This is what Christianity is about.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_00]: This is what Christianity is about.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: This is what Christianity is about.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: But then they pitch a different message, which apparently is the John message once you get into the club.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, yeah, that's all cool and everything, but actually, this is what it really is.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_05]: It could be assholes.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't like that message as well as what Jesus is too woke.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, but Jesus is what you sell Christianity is.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_05]: And it's why I've always said Jesus is just all right with me.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is why, like this right here, this is the reason why I really struggle with Christianity.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_03]: because what even are you?
- 56:14[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_03]: Like honestly, what the fuck even are you?
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because this message for the most part sounds I, you know, like I'm like this sounds pretty good.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: Generally speaking, don't be a dick.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be a dick.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_00]: Crying thing, like I don't know, like there's some things I've got problems with in here.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_04]: But it's mostly don't be a dick.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, overall it's a dick.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_04]: Be nice to each other, don't be a dick.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_04]: Don't worry, sure.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_04]: Take care of each other, be nice.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, again, it's a nice, yeah, it's fine.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's fine.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I guess we'll find out.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: I guess we'll find out.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: And that's later stuff.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, that was Matthew chapter six.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_04]: Little Maddie.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_00]: Second part of the sermon on the Mount.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be doing next time we come.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_05]: do an episode is going to be a little Maddie chapter seven, which is the wrap up of the sermon on the mouth.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then after that, we'll be doing a Q&A might be Saturday, but it will be over the sermon on the mouth.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you all for joining us and we will see you next time.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.
- 57:23[UNKNOWN]: Bye.
