  I'm thinking today of Matthew 13, 44. Jesus is

  speaking and he says, The kingdom of heaven is

  like a treasure hidden in the field, which a
• 0:09
  man found and hid again. And from joy over it,
• 0:13
  he goes and sells everything that he has and
• 0:16
  buys that field. Man, a whole sermon series preaches
• 0:20
  out of this one verse, that's for sure. But there's
• 0:23
  one thing in there that really ought to encourage
• 0:25
  us. What would you pay? What would you give?
• 0:30
  What would you lose and never be able to get
• 0:33
  back in order to have the kingdom of God? That
• 0:37
  is to say, the reign of God, the presence of
• 0:40
  God in your life. And the answer is literally
• 0:43
  everything that you have. Everything that I have,
• 0:47
  I would readily sell, give up in order to have
• 0:51
  the kingdom of God. Now, that's hard to think
• 0:53
  of when I think about... some of the intangibles,
• 0:55
  my feeling of peace, family, my loved ones, my
• 0:58
  jobs, my bills paid, things like that. But we
• 1:02
  would literally give all that up. If we understand
• 1:04
  the value of the kingdom of God and how God at
• 1:07
  work in us and God's presence in us, then we
• 1:09
  would never be providentially hindered. We would
• 1:12
  never have a job or a situation or a gift or
• 1:16
  a loss that would interfere with God's presence
• 1:19
  in our lives. We would let it all go. in order
• 1:22
  to have God and God alone at the helm. His control,
• 1:27
  his power, his purpose, his provision. Lord,
• 1:30
  we have everything to do to celebrate what's
• 1:33
  in you and all that you want to do in us. So
• 1:35
  we say, help us let you be first. Please, God,
• 1:39
  please make us able and to remember that this
• 1:42
  kingdom of God thing that is you in us, it's
• 1:45
  worth more than we have.
