- 0:04Speaker 1: a lot of drugs flowing. So you know, we want
- 0:07Speaker 1: to protect our country. We have to protect our country.
- 0:09Speaker 1: We haven't been doing it for four years, so you
- 0:13Speaker 1: know we're playing a tough game. But we'll have more
- 0:15Speaker 1: to say about that soon.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:22Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got three big
- 0:25Speaker 3: stories for you. First up, more than one hundred thousand
- 0:29Speaker 3: Americans have said we want to work for the President
- 0:33Speaker 3: and be ice agents. That's right. Nationwide, more than one
- 0:37Speaker 3: hundred thousand Americans have applied for just ten thousand jobs.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I'll give you the details on how big of a
- 0:43Speaker 3: deal that is in just a moment plus, in a
- 0:46Speaker 3: major move by the White House, it now looks like
- 0:48Speaker 3: it's time to hold the cartels accountable for what they've
- 0:52Speaker 3: been doing and torturing, killing, and overdosing American citizens. President
- 0:57Speaker 3: has designated them as terrorist organizations. And now how the
- 1:00Speaker 3: President is fighting back in Mexico out of nowhere, decides
- 1:04Speaker 3: to extradit twenty six top cartel leaders to the US
- 1:08Speaker 3: all because of Donald Trump putting America first. How safe
- 1:12Speaker 3: is this going to make America? I'll explain it as well.
- 1:15Speaker 3: And finally, Adam Schiff in big trouble, new accusations coming
- 1:20Speaker 3: out from a Democrat that he purposely leaked classified information
- 1:26Speaker 3: to undermine and overthrow the Trump presidency. Back in two
- 1:30Speaker 3: thousand and seventeen. It's the forty seven Morning Update and
- 1:34Speaker 3: it starts right now.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Donald Trump has done something that's truly incredible, allow law
- 1:41Speaker 3: enforcement to do their jobs, and now Americans are signing
- 1:44Speaker 3: up in record numbers to get in on law and order.
- 1:48Speaker 3: We now have found out that over one hundred thousand
- 1:52Speaker 3: Americans have submitted applications for jobs at the US Immigration
- 1:56Speaker 3: and Customs Enforcement known as ICE, following the launch of
- 2:00Speaker 3: a Department of Homelanned Security hiring campaign in late July.
- 2:04Speaker 3: The Trump administration initiatives seeks to add ten thousand more
- 2:08Speaker 3: ICE personnel. Because of the tens of millions of illegal
- 2:11Speaker 3: immigrants that are in this country, ICE agents are needed,
- 2:14Speaker 3: and now they're offering major perks as well and even
- 2:18Speaker 3: easing some of the qualification restrictions to make sure that
- 2:21Speaker 3: we get incredible people that are willing to work within ICE.
- 2:25Speaker 3: This is one of the best parts of all of
- 2:27Speaker 3: what Donald Trump has done. In a statement, the Department
- 2:30Speaker 3: of Homeland Security Secretary Christy Nomes stress the significance of
- 2:33Speaker 3: the hiring push, saying quote, this is a defining moment
- 2:37Speaker 3: in our nation's history. Your skills, your experience, and your
- 2:40Speaker 3: courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend
- 2:44Speaker 3: the homeland. No emphasize that ICE agents are responsible for
- 2:48Speaker 3: deporting the worst of the worst criminals from the United
- 2:51Speaker 3: States of America. To draw in applicants, ICE is providing
- 2:55Speaker 3: sign on bonuses as high as fifty thousand dollars, along
- 2:58Speaker 3: with programs for re paying or for giving student loans
- 3:02Speaker 3: and additional perks. This hiring campaign occurs amid DHS statistics
- 3:07Speaker 3: showing an eight hundred and thirty percent surge in attacks
- 3:12Speaker 3: on ICE agents, a number that no medicated has now
- 3:15Speaker 3: climbed to one thousand percent because the radical left demonizing
- 3:20Speaker 3: law and order. The acting ICE Director Todd Lyons has
- 3:24Speaker 3: drawn also attention to the difficulties ICE agents are enduring
- 3:28Speaker 3: and encountering in the public because of the open border
- 3:31Speaker 3: policies of the former Biden Harris government. The dedicated men
- 3:35Speaker 3: and women of ICE now face unprecedented challenges and removing
- 3:39Speaker 3: millions of criminal legal aliens from our country, and that's
- 3:42Speaker 3: exactly why they're trying to hire ten thousand new individuals now.
- 3:47Speaker 3: The ICE hiring portal features various positions such as deportation officer,
- 3:53Speaker 3: criminal investigator, and general attorney, and it also clearly responds
- 3:57Speaker 3: to the occupational hazard. It's noting that agents are quote
- 4:02Speaker 3: expertly trained and that all possible measures are implemented to
- 4:05Speaker 3: protect them. Every candidate for law enforcement position will be
- 4:09Speaker 3: subject to health evaluations, substance screenings, and fitness tests during
- 4:13Speaker 3: the recruitment. This is exactly why they've received more than
- 4:17Speaker 3: one hundred thousand applicants, because so many people are willing
- 4:20Speaker 3: to fight to protect this country when they know the
- 4:22Speaker 3: commander in chief is backing them up. And that's exactly
- 4:25Speaker 3: what you're getting from President Trump. Next story number two,
- 4:29Speaker 3: I want to take you back to February of this
- 4:31Speaker 3: year and something big happen at the White House. The
- 4:34Speaker 3: Trump administration designated several major drug cartels, including the Sinaloa Cartel,
- 4:41Speaker 3: MS thirteen and others as quote global terrorists organizations. Well,
- 4:46Speaker 3: now we know more about why that decision was made.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Donald Trump's executive authority has now been used and has
- 4:53Speaker 3: signed a directive empowering the Pentagon to prepare military options
- 4:58Speaker 3: on land and its see against Latin American drug cartels
- 5:03Speaker 3: that have been designated as quote foreign terrorists organizations. Preparedness
- 5:08Speaker 3: and non immediate action is what this is really all about.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Military plans are being drawn up, we're being told now,
- 5:16Speaker 3: including special forces, intelligence operations, naval operations, and surveillance. The
- 5:23Speaker 3: threshold for actual deployment has not been crossed yet. No
- 5:26Speaker 3: ground operations, we've been told, are imminent. But Mexico is
- 5:31Speaker 3: already responding to this. In fact, today Mexico extradited twenty
- 5:38Speaker 3: six top cartel leaders to the US and a Trump
- 5:42Speaker 3: administration deal. The transfer comes ahead of a twenty five
- 5:46Speaker 3: percent tariff on Mexican goods imposed by President Trump. Mexico
- 5:52Speaker 3: handing over these twenty six top cartel leaders in the United
- 5:54Speaker 3: States of America this week is massive. It's something that
- 5:58Speaker 3: Biden never even tried to do or Obama. The cartel
- 6:01Speaker 3: figures were scheduled to fly the US on Tuesday. We
- 6:04Speaker 3: were being told by reporters today is the latest example
- 6:08Speaker 3: of the Trump administration's historic effort to dismantle cartels and
- 6:13Speaker 3: foreign terrorist organizations. That's what Attorney General Pam Bondi said
- 6:17Speaker 3: to Fox News, saying, quote, these twenty six men have
- 6:21Speaker 3: all played a role in bringing violence and drugs to
- 6:24Speaker 3: American chores. Under the Department of Justice, they will face
- 6:27Speaker 3: severe consequences for their crimes against his country, and we're
- 6:31Speaker 3: grateful to the President of Mexico and the Mexican government
- 6:34Speaker 3: for their collaboration in this matter. Now, one of the
- 6:38Speaker 3: twenty six cartel members that was turned over the US
- 6:41Speaker 3: is a man that was wanted. His name was Gonzales Vallecina.
- 6:45Speaker 3: He was a leader of one of the top Mexican
- 6:47Speaker 3: cartels and he also is accused of participating in the
- 6:51Speaker 3: two thousand and eight killing of a Los Angeles sheriff deputy.
- 6:55Speaker 3: He's one of those that is among the twenty six
- 6:58Speaker 3: that are being handed over to the US. The Trump administration,
- 7:01Speaker 3: by the way, has classified that cartel, the CJNG, as
- 7:05Speaker 3: a terrorist organization. Mexico's Attorney General's office and the Security
- 7:10Speaker 3: Ministry confirmed the men were being handed over, saying the
- 7:13Speaker 3: deal was made after the US Justice Department said it
- 7:16Speaker 3: wouldn't seek the death penalty for any of the men.
- 7:20Speaker 3: The deal comes amid the Trump administration's focus on border security,
- 7:25Speaker 3: an attempt to crack down on Mexican cartels that's in
- 7:28Speaker 3: drugs across the border. President Trump's top priority is protecting
- 7:32Speaker 3: the homeland, which is why it took the bold steps
- 7:35Speaker 3: to designate several cartels and gangs as foreign terrorists organizations.
- 7:39Speaker 3: That's what the Deputy White House Press secretary said today
- 7:42Speaker 3: in a statement that was released Mexican president on Friday,
- 7:45Speaker 3: so the US military would not be entering Mexican territory
- 7:49Speaker 3: following reports that Washington could take action to combat the cartels, saying, quote,
- 7:55Speaker 3: we co operate, we collaborate, but there is not going
- 7:58Speaker 3: to be an invasion. It's off the table, absolutely off
- 8:03Speaker 3: the table, quote unquote, Which brings me back to the
- 8:06Speaker 3: White House. I want you to take a listen to
- 8:08Speaker 3: part of what was said about what the present is
- 8:11Speaker 3: planning to do and how serious he is about combating
- 8:14Speaker 3: these terrorists. Here he is, in his own words, You were.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Talking about sending military forces to fight against the drug
- 8:21Speaker 4: cartels in Latin America. Do you think it's worth sending
- 8:25Speaker 4: our forces or US forces there to take this.
- 8:28Speaker 1: On cartels where Central Latin America. Latin America's got a
- 8:32Speaker 1: lot of cartels, They've got a lot of drugs flowing. So,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you know, we want to protect our country. We have
- 8:38Speaker 1: to protect our country. We haven't been doing it for
- 8:40Speaker 1: four years. And we love this country like they love
- 8:44Speaker 1: their countries. We have to protect our country. So you know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: we're playing a tough game. But we'll have more to
- 8:50Speaker 1: say about that soon.
- 8:51Speaker 3: We'll have more to say about that soon. Clearly, the
- 8:54Speaker 3: President United States of America not messing around when it
- 8:57Speaker 3: comes to protecting the homeland. And here is number three
- 9:00Speaker 3: in a bombshell report. A Democratic whistleblower has come forward,
- 9:06Speaker 3: a long time staffer on the House Intelligence Committee and
- 9:10Speaker 3: told the FBI back in December of twenty seventeen, during
- 9:15Speaker 3: Donald Trump's first year in office, that then Representative Adam
- 9:20Speaker 3: Shift authorized the leaking of classified information during the Russia
- 9:26Speaker 3: Gate investigation to discredit President Donald Trump, believing that he
- 9:32Speaker 3: would be appointed CIA director under a potential Hillary Clinton presidency.
- 9:37Speaker 3: In meetings, Adam Shift allegedly stated the leaks would be
- 9:41Speaker 3: used to indict President Trump. When the whistleblower objected, others
- 9:47Speaker 3: reportedly reassured him that they would not quote be caught.
- 9:52Speaker 3: The whistleblower described a system where sense of material was
- 9:56Speaker 3: funneled to Shift and then selectively leaked to the press.
- 10:00Speaker 3: One document allegedly seen by a small group including Shift
- 10:04Speaker 3: and Representative Eric swallwell you remember the congressman that was
- 10:08Speaker 3: literally sleeping with a Chinese spy, was leaked almost verbatim
- 10:13Speaker 3: within a day. The whistle blower labeled these actions unethical
- 10:18Speaker 3: and potentially treason US and sought FBI involvement, though the
- 10:23Speaker 3: Department of Justice reportedly declined to pursue the investigation further.
- 10:27Speaker 3: The White House Press secretary calling the report a bombshell,
- 10:30Speaker 3: signing the newly released FBI documentation about the whistleblower's account.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Here's more of what Caroline Levitt had to say when
- 10:38Speaker 3: she was asked about it in the White House briefing room.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Okay, thanks Caroline. My question involves Russia Gate. A whistleblower
- 10:44Speaker 4: alleged that Congressman Adam Shift approved leaking classified information to
- 10:49Speaker 4: smear President Trump's image during the Russia guse scandal because
- 10:53Speaker 4: the president planned to investigate Adam shift and what would
- 10:56Speaker 4: accountability look like if more.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Information confirms The President has already said he wants to
- 11:02Speaker 5: see Adam Shiff held accountable for the countless lies he
- 11:05Speaker 5: told the American people in relation to the Russia Gate scandal.
- 11:08Speaker 5: I brought Tulsea Gabbert out to this podium to talk
- 11:11Speaker 5: to you about all of that, and this administration is
- 11:13Speaker 5: taking accountability very seriously. As for this new FBI whistleblower report,
- 11:18Speaker 5: I understand cash Ptel last night declassified a three h
- 11:22Speaker 5: two FBI document showing that a whistle blower who is
- 11:25Speaker 5: a Democrat, a career intelligence officer who worked for Democrats
- 11:29Speaker 5: on the House Intel Committee for more than a decade,
- 11:32Speaker 5: repeatedly warned the FBI in twenty seventeen that then Rep.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Adams Shiff had approved leaking classified information to smear then
- 11:42Speaker 5: President Donald Trump over the Russia Gate scandal. This is
- 11:45Speaker 5: obviously a bombshell whistleblower report. Hopefully more people in this
- 11:50Speaker 5: room will cover it as such. And I have a
- 11:52Speaker 5: quote from the FBI director for all of you. He
- 11:55Speaker 5: has said this for years to certain officials use their
- 11:57Speaker 5: positions to selectively leak classified in information to shape political narratives.
- 12:02Speaker 5: It was all done with one purpose, to weaponize intelligence
- 12:05Speaker 5: and law enforcement for political gain. Those abuses eroded public
- 12:09Speaker 5: trust in our institutions. The FBI will now lead the charge,
- 12:12Speaker 5: with our partners at DOJ and Congress will have the
- 12:15Speaker 5: chance to uncover how political power may have been weaponized
- 12:18Speaker 5: and to restore accountability. That's what the administration is focused on,
- 12:22Speaker 5: and hopefully we'll see some more media reports on this
- 12:26Speaker 5: whistleblower allegation. If this were reversed, If if this were
- 12:31Speaker 5: allegations against the President or any of these cabinet officials,
- 12:34Speaker 5: I'm sure everyone in this room would cover it. As such.
- 12:38Speaker 3: This is obviously a major story that the media doesn't
- 12:40Speaker 3: want to cover, but we're going to keep you informed
- 12:42Speaker 3: on it, and we're going to make sure you know
- 12:44Speaker 3: exactly what's happening every step of the way.
