- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million buck things in the stubbing me true good star
- 0:24Speaker 1: to other fort. Please I don't join jo. You gotta
- 0:59Speaker 1: use that turning you are you gotta turn to turn out? Turn?
- 1:43Speaker 1: You got to turn out turn, turn the water to
- 1:47Speaker 1: the water? Go? Come, come on your thing now. I
- 2:02Speaker 1: shall well a good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice,
- 2:07Speaker 1: come on dig me now wanted only Steve Harvey got
- 2:10Speaker 1: a radio show. Okay, I want to talk to you
- 2:17Speaker 1: today about success. But I want to talk to you
- 2:23Speaker 1: about it like I usually do in terms of a
- 2:27Speaker 1: principle of it, but I want to share something with
- 2:30Speaker 1: you about it. And I was talking to my daughter
- 2:34Speaker 1: about it. I've talked about my son in law about it,
- 2:38Speaker 1: talking about it with all my children, and I'm really
- 2:41Speaker 1: starting to express it to them now because I'm talking
- 2:44Speaker 1: to a wide range of people constantly. But I want
- 2:48Speaker 1: to share something with you. If you have any aspiration
- 2:51Speaker 1: of being successful, I want you to realize, starting right now,
- 2:57Speaker 1: the effort that is going to require. And that's why
- 3:01Speaker 1: I think it stops a lot of people I think
- 3:03Speaker 1: a lot of people are never told or don't understand
- 3:08Speaker 1: the sheer effort that's that it takes to become successful
- 3:12Speaker 1: at anything in any area of your life. If you
- 3:16Speaker 1: think that doing your best is enough, that I got
- 3:19Speaker 1: news for you. It's not. Well, Steve, what if you've
- 3:24Speaker 1: done your best, though, and your best ain't good enough? Well,
- 3:29Speaker 1: let me ask you that same question. Hold on. If
- 3:32Speaker 1: you want to be successful and you've done your best
- 3:35Speaker 1: and best isn't good enough? What you through? That's it?
- 3:39Speaker 1: But Steve, it was my best? No, no, no, no.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It was the best you had at that time, in
- 3:45Speaker 1: that particular day. But tomorrow add something to it. You've
- 3:52Speaker 1: you've never done everything. There is no you can't go
- 3:55Speaker 1: no more, you can't add no more. I've seen marathon
- 4:00Speaker 1: run us end up crawling across the line. I've seen
- 4:03Speaker 1: triath line people man just staggering in the street and
- 4:06Speaker 1: didn't want nobody to help them because they knew that
- 4:09Speaker 1: would disqualify them from the race. You got more? Have
- 4:15Speaker 1: you ever dipped into your reserve tank? That's what we're
- 4:19Speaker 1: talking about now. See all of us have a reserve tank.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You know, I you know, on my ranch, I like
- 4:26Speaker 1: to ride four wheelers. I have all terrain vehicles and
- 4:30Speaker 1: all of them have a gas tank on it and
- 4:33Speaker 1: a gas tank and most of mine, let me see
- 4:35Speaker 1: all of them. Yeah, all of them have gas tank
- 4:37Speaker 1: needles on them, and it lets me know when I
- 4:40Speaker 1: get down towards eat there's a little lane that's read
- 4:44Speaker 1: that lets me know. Okay, Steve, you're in the danger zone.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Now you're riding into the lowest part of your tank.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But if I keep riding and I forget to get
- 4:53Speaker 1: some gas in there, guess what when it runs out
- 4:56Speaker 1: of gas. All of my all terrain vehicle, all of them, Honda, Polaris,
- 5:03Speaker 1: all of them. Those are the makers. There's a button
- 5:07Speaker 1: on the gas tank itself that I can click and
- 5:10Speaker 1: it says reserve. That means they know that for the
- 5:16Speaker 1: hardcore riders, they're gonna ride somewhere and they're gonna get
- 5:20Speaker 1: themselves in a situation and they're gonna run out of everything.
- 5:24Speaker 1: They're gonna run out of road, they're gonna run out
- 5:26Speaker 1: of gas. They've prepared because they know for the hardcore rider,
- 5:31Speaker 1: every hardcore rider needs a reserve tank. And so there's
- 5:35Speaker 1: a button that you can click on the gas tank
- 5:38Speaker 1: that clicks it into a reserve, and it will give
- 5:41Speaker 1: you about fifty miles or twenty miles worth of gas
- 5:45Speaker 1: in that Now, guess what in that reserve That may
- 5:49Speaker 1: be all you need to get you to where you're going,
- 5:52Speaker 1: or get you back to safety so you can refuel.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Don't tell me you've done your best. When your best,
- 5:59Speaker 1: don't cut it. What you're gonna do. See when best
- 6:03Speaker 1: is possible, then good enough ain't enough. See that's good enough.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But if the best is possible, why would you not
- 6:11Speaker 1: shoot for that? And you are all capable of making it.
- 6:16Speaker 1: But you've got to change your mindset and realize the
- 6:19Speaker 1: effort that has to be put forth in becoming successful.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You've got to do it relentlessly, over and over and
- 6:27Speaker 1: over and over and every day. I try to do
- 6:30Speaker 1: something to progress my life for the better. I try
- 6:34Speaker 1: to do something every day. I wake up every day
- 6:37Speaker 1: with the plan. Some phone calls, some meetings, some some
- 6:41Speaker 1: some interviews. Something man that's going to advance and move
- 6:45Speaker 1: the brand forward. Because here's what's gonna happen. You are
- 6:49Speaker 1: Let's say you reach your goal. Let's say your goal
- 6:52Speaker 1: is to make one hundred thousand dollars. Well, I got
- 6:56Speaker 1: news for you. Listen to this. When you make the
- 6:59Speaker 1: one hundred thousand dollars, you can't go nowhere and go
- 7:03Speaker 1: on vacation and put your hand behind your head and
- 7:05Speaker 1: say I made a hundred thousand dollars. Guess what you
- 7:08Speaker 1: got to do? You got to find a way now
- 7:11Speaker 1: to maintain that one hundred thousand, to keep it coming in.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So you can't just get there and stop and rest
- 7:18Speaker 1: and whoa. It is harder to maintain your success that
- 7:22Speaker 1: it is to get successful. See, let's say, let me
- 7:26Speaker 1: let me show you this. Supposed it takes you five
- 7:30Speaker 1: to eight years to find a way to make fifty
- 7:35Speaker 1: thousand dollars. Let's say it takes you five to eight
- 7:38Speaker 1: years to find a way to make an extra fifty
- 7:40Speaker 1: thousand dollars, and you finally, through work and effort, you
- 7:44Speaker 1: get to the fifty thousand dollars. More. That's that's it's
- 7:49Speaker 1: only just begun now, because guess what, in order to
- 7:53Speaker 1: keep the fifty coming in, you got to duplicate what
- 7:57Speaker 1: you did to get there. And then, oh, here's what
- 8:02Speaker 1: you're going to have the audacity being a human being,
- 8:05Speaker 1: You're gonna want another fifty because you're a human being,
- 8:10Speaker 1: because you gotta have something else to shoot for. Now
- 8:12Speaker 1: you're gonna want another fifty. Well, now that guess what
- 8:14Speaker 1: you gotta do. Now, Now you gotta do what you
- 8:16Speaker 1: did before, plus you gotta come up with something else.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Then after that you're gonna have the audacity. Because you're humans,
- 8:24Speaker 1: you're gonna want another fifty. Says how this works? And
- 8:30Speaker 1: see that that's that that's the importance of your relationship
- 8:33Speaker 1: with God, because you're gonna constantly need it and ain't
- 8:37Speaker 1: other point where you're gonna be through needing it. But
- 8:39Speaker 1: there ain't gonna become a point in your life where
- 8:41Speaker 1: you're gonna through. Won't through, be through, won't nothing unless
- 8:43Speaker 1: you just gave up. And if you don't gave up,
- 8:46Speaker 1: who wants that? Come on, y'all, this is going to
- 8:49Speaker 1: take quite a bit of effort, and if you think
- 8:54Speaker 1: it will come to you any other way, you're sadly mistaken.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Because of all the successful people I know, I know
- 9:00Speaker 1: that the effort they put out on a daily basis
- 9:03Speaker 1: is daunting, and I think that the average person just
- 9:05Speaker 1: doesn't understand the requirement of time and effort that it
- 9:09Speaker 1: takes to get that and willingness to put it out.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You gotta cut a lot of monkey business out your life.
- 9:17Speaker 1: All that hanging out, all that late and all that
- 9:20Speaker 1: club and all that drinking, all it. You gotta cut
- 9:22Speaker 1: a whole lot of monkey business out to be successful. Man,
- 9:27Speaker 1: if you're planning on being successful, get up early, stay
- 9:31Speaker 1: up late, work, try, think, meet, greet, smile, attract. It
- 9:38Speaker 1: takes a lot, let's go, but you can do it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: God is pressed to passing out blessings all day long.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Why are you not in line for yours? I'm telling
- 9:46Speaker 1: you right now, I want everything God got for me
- 9:49Speaker 1: because what he's shown me so far. Who if he
- 9:52Speaker 1: got some more? Man on man, how good is God hunts?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, let me have it your undivided attention.
- 10:04Speaker 1: It's a Steve Harvey Morning Show. It's morning time. Watch
- 10:08Speaker 1: how we work Shirley Strawberry, and it's Friday time to Steve.

- 11:05Speaker 1: can tell I know when you off script. What you say, Steve,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I can tell when he off script because he's then
- 11:15Speaker 1: was it half the time? Yes, it was a little
- 11:18Speaker 1: bit more than half. Well does Tyler encourage that or what?
- 11:21Speaker 1: What does he say about that? Charge it a lot? Yeah, mister,
- 11:24Speaker 1: I don't know who Tyler is. I don't know that person,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you know, mister Harry, mister Harry, I don't even go
- 11:33Speaker 1: by that name. But he encouraged allows us to have
- 11:37Speaker 1: a certain freedom yet but we have a script. So yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 1: you're killing it, Benny, Yeah you are. You really do
- 11:45Speaker 1: your thing. I've never seen a Glenn father cuss a
- 11:51Speaker 1: grandchild album. I said he was an honorary old pastor
- 12:00Speaker 1: not much of it, you know, goes. I think I
- 12:04Speaker 1: speak for every grand parent who wants to cut their
- 12:07Speaker 1: grandkids out, but they don't, so I would be in
- 12:12Speaker 1: that group, Jay, But my oldest one is five, so
- 12:17Speaker 1: probably ain't a good look for me. Now they mom
- 12:23Speaker 1: and daddy. Oh yeah yeah, let them ahead it. So
- 12:27Speaker 1: tell the people when they can catch the show, since
- 12:29Speaker 1: we're talking about it. It's so Wednesday night, right after
- 12:32Speaker 1: House of Pain. It's been two House of Pain this
- 12:35Speaker 1: week on Wednesday night he comes on and then two
- 12:37Speaker 1: more of Assistant Living and mister David Mann I think
- 12:41Speaker 1: shows up this week. If you think it's ignorant, so Jake,
- 12:45Speaker 1: So Jay, it was only the premier, I mean the
- 12:49Speaker 1: pilot episode so far, just being one. It's one of
- 12:53Speaker 1: No we've show, we show, we show the four episodes,
- 12:56Speaker 1: four episodes today on Wednesday, Wednesday. Yeah, yeah, what do
- 13:03Speaker 1: you mean? Wait wait wait it comes on more than
- 13:06Speaker 1: once a week. No, it came on the week before
- 13:09Speaker 1: it premiered, the week book before, and then this past
- 13:12Speaker 1: Wednesday with two new episodes. It's two episodes. That's where
- 13:17Speaker 1: you're you're struggling. It's two two episodes per night, yea
- 13:21Speaker 1: per week until this showing one two a week until Yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 1: just watch Wednesday night. Okay, this did Living starring Jayathony
- 13:33Speaker 1: Brown has Benny All right coming up at thirty two
- 13:36Speaker 1: minutes after the hour as the CLO the cloth the
- 13:40Speaker 1: Chief Love Officer in the building. Right after this, you're
- 13:44Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up at
- 13:48Speaker 1: the top of the hour, our special guest will be
- 13:50Speaker 1: Congressman Cedric Richmond from Louisiana, who is one of Joe
- 13:54Speaker 1: Biden's campaign co chairs. We're going to discuss the importance
- 13:57Speaker 1: of this election, the black vote versus Biden, the difference,
- 14:03Speaker 1: voter suppression, and whole lot more. Congressman Richmond will be
- 14:06Speaker 1: our special guest at the top of the hour. But
- 14:09Speaker 1: right now it is time for ask the c l O. Ready,
- 14:14Speaker 1: CLO Gritter, all right, here we go. This one is
- 14:18Speaker 1: from Harriet. You'll love that name, Harriet in Florida. Harriet says,
- 14:23Speaker 1: I have a fifteen year old stepson and he's chosen
- 14:25Speaker 1: to do virtual classes, so he's home alone during the day.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I left work early on Tuesday and I walked in
- 14:33Speaker 1: on my stepson about to have sex with his girlfriend.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I was so embarrassed, and they were too. I gathered
- 14:42Speaker 1: myself and after they got dressed, I sat them down
- 14:45Speaker 1: and talked to them about safe sex and sneaking around.
- 14:49Speaker 1: My stepson said, he appreciates me for being cool about it,
- 14:52Speaker 1: and he asked me not to tell his dad. I've
- 14:55Speaker 1: been trying to create a bond with this boy, but
- 14:58Speaker 1: I feel his dad should know. Should tell his dad? Wow, WHOA?
- 15:04Speaker 1: That really is hard because this could be your chance
- 15:08Speaker 1: to form a real bond with him and gain some trust.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Here's the deal. Telling his dad accomplishes what. I know.
- 15:17Speaker 1: You shouldn't have secrets in your marriage, but you talk
- 15:20Speaker 1: to him. He said, he appreciated it. It probably won't
- 15:25Speaker 1: happen again. I mean it probably won't happen again to
- 15:29Speaker 1: her knowledge. So yeah, yeah, it's gonna happen again, right,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Telling his father accomplishes what for the boy? If you
- 15:39Speaker 1: think he may have gotten a message and your point
- 15:41Speaker 1: went across, Well, you have a chance to build a
- 15:45Speaker 1: little bit of bond with him, and you also have
- 15:48Speaker 1: something that can you can use as AMMO. It's always
- 15:53Speaker 1: good to have a little something to hangover a boy,
- 15:55Speaker 1: especially a boy. If you've got something on the boy,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you can get a little bit. You know, I'm gonna
- 16:01Speaker 1: need you to take better care of your room, I'm
- 16:03Speaker 1: gonna have to tell your daddy what you did. Oh,
- 16:06Speaker 1: that's called blackmail. No, one can't keep you can't keep
- 16:09Speaker 1: holding it over now and she should watch for to
- 16:13Speaker 1: see if his behavior is going to change. It's he
- 16:15Speaker 1: more respectful, right, can I can I say this about it? Yeah?
- 16:21Speaker 1: She did write me about my response. Y'all think holding
- 16:26Speaker 1: it over his head is wrong, then that's fine, But
- 16:32Speaker 1: we're gonna hang it. I think having that AMMO for
- 16:35Speaker 1: her as the step mom trying to build a relationship
- 16:39Speaker 1: could be a good way to get him to trust
- 16:41Speaker 1: her and a good way to you know, have a
- 16:44Speaker 1: little bit of leverage. I just don't see how that hurts.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Do you think do you think his daddy would get mad?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Or do you think his daddy and say that's my boy?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Which one of you see that? You don't? He don't
- 16:57Speaker 1: want his dad to know because his dad, you know,
- 17:00Speaker 1: dad gonna bust him up. Now in my house, all
- 17:05Speaker 1: is here. But you know, when when that moment hit you,
- 17:08Speaker 1: you don't really give a damn what an address that?
- 17:13Speaker 1: And for sure if it had been the daughter, it
- 17:15Speaker 1: would be handled quite differently. All right, Oh totally, yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 1: All right, we're moving we're moving on. This one's from
- 17:25Speaker 1: Sean in Southfield, Michigan. I am a thirty three year
- 17:28Speaker 1: old married woman and I've been in church my whole life.
- 17:31Speaker 1: So I married a man that I met at church.
- 17:34Speaker 1: He had a reputation for being a ladies man, and
- 17:37Speaker 1: all I ever heard about him was how good he
- 17:40Speaker 1: was in bed. We waited until we got married to
- 17:43Speaker 1: have sex, and I just knew I was in for
- 17:46Speaker 1: a treat. But he did not handle his business at all.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I asked him if he was okay. He said, he's
- 17:55Speaker 1: saved now and he values me as his prize, so
- 17:58Speaker 1: he will not dishonor my body. He's acting like Christians,
- 18:02Speaker 1: ain't freaky. I'm tired of doing it in one position?
- 18:05Speaker 1: How can I get through to him? Wow? Come on?
- 18:09Speaker 1: See all up? Well, probably just gonna have to go
- 18:12Speaker 1: on in there and bring it one evening. You know,
- 18:16Speaker 1: are you talking to him? I mean, you know, no,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm talking to her. Oh you know I ain't doing
- 18:22Speaker 1: that tonight. It is right here, you know, over hell
- 18:31Speaker 1: now stop, come on overhill and you know, just dragging
- 18:36Speaker 1: around the room put him into positions you won't Oh
- 18:39Speaker 1: it all snapped back, you know you saying he eat
- 18:43Speaker 1: new saved You know what I'm saying. You know, you
- 18:46Speaker 1: got to get through that new phase. Not saying you're
- 18:49Speaker 1: gonna seeing all of a sudden, but it's just saying
- 18:51Speaker 1: that sometimes new Christianity is a bit stressful. You know,
- 18:55Speaker 1: you're trying to be perfect when what God really wants
- 18:57Speaker 1: you to be consistent. Yeah. Yeah, Like I bought some
- 19:02Speaker 1: stuff with me into my savedness. Care to share, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 1: like custom You know I bought to any end women.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I've been working on it. But you know, sometimes people
- 19:12Speaker 1: need to get off you as a Christian, So I
- 19:14Speaker 1: use it. You know, I bought dice shooting into my safe. Oh.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I got to get these ties. You got to lease
- 19:24Speaker 1: give me the opportunity to win it. Task. But let
- 19:28Speaker 1: me see if I can get a little ceremony like that,
- 19:32Speaker 1: you know, help us Lord. Okay, this is from Lunika
- 19:37Speaker 1: and Memphis. I'm twenty nine years old. I'm an engaged
- 19:40Speaker 1: female and my fiance has been in jail for sixteen
- 19:43Speaker 1: months for a white collar crime. He's scheduled to be
- 19:45Speaker 1: released in December and we're getting married. I found out
- 19:49Speaker 1: his ex girlfriend has been visiting him after she posted
- 19:51Speaker 1: a picture of them on her Facebook page. He said
- 19:54Speaker 1: she was there to visit someone else and he was
- 19:56Speaker 1: in the visiting room talking to his mom, so she
- 19:59Speaker 1: asked for a selfie with him. I have a problem
- 20:02Speaker 1: with his ex before. I've had that problem, so I
- 20:04Speaker 1: don't really believe him. Should I call and tech and
- 20:07Speaker 1: talk to her woman to woman or should I trust
- 20:10Speaker 1: my fiance and let it go? Quarter prison is y'all elected? Y'all?
- 20:16Speaker 1: Take his self? What what? What prison? You ran up
- 20:25Speaker 1: into him in the waiting room? Is you had a
- 20:30Speaker 1: work release house or someone because you just can't go
- 20:33Speaker 1: to prison and visit with other people's tables? All right,
- 20:37Speaker 1: thank you Ciello. Coming up next, the nephew in the
- 20:40Speaker 1: building with run that prank back right after this, you're listening.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, our special
- 20:50Speaker 1: guest will be Congressman Cedric Richmond from Louisiana. He is
- 20:54Speaker 1: one of Joe Biden's campaign co chairs. He's going to
- 20:57Speaker 1: discuss the importance of this election Trump Vers, says Biden,
- 21:01Speaker 1: talk about the difference there voter suppression and Madam VP
- 21:05Speaker 1: nominee Senator Kamala Harris again. Congressman Cedric Richmond will be
- 21:09Speaker 1: our special guest at the top of the hour. But
- 21:12Speaker 1: before we get really serious, the nephew is here to
- 21:14Speaker 1: make us laugh. We'll run that prank back. What you
- 21:17Speaker 1: got for us? An ass baby chick, baby crazy. Let's
- 21:24Speaker 1: go cat do. Thank you. I'm trying to reach warn
- 21:28Speaker 1: the manage hut for one second place, which is one,
- 21:32Speaker 1: thank you for calling help you? Yeah? You are you
- 21:34Speaker 1: the manager there? Yes, sir? Your name Warren, Yes, sir,
- 21:37Speaker 1: this is one. Okay, I need to actually file a
- 21:40Speaker 1: lawsuit on y'all, and I'm actually calling you first to
- 21:44Speaker 1: let you know that I'm getting ready to file a
- 21:45Speaker 1: lawsuit on the whole grocery store for what did happened
- 21:49Speaker 1: to me? Sir? Let me let me get hold on
- 21:53Speaker 1: a second. So let me do this. Let me let
- 21:55Speaker 1: me what what did you say? Your name was? My
- 21:57Speaker 1: name is Evans, Evans is my ain't so Evans is
- 22:01Speaker 1: your last name? Let me let me write this down.
- 22:04Speaker 1: And you came into my store? Did you have an
- 22:06Speaker 1: accident in my store or something? I know you just
- 22:08Speaker 1: have to show what you're calling about. I ain't had
- 22:11Speaker 1: no accident. What alpum was? I came in there yesterday
- 22:14Speaker 1: and I bought a bunch of grocers, and I bought
- 22:16Speaker 1: a card in the eggs right now. When I got home,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I was checking to make sure the eggs didn't didn't
- 22:22Speaker 1: break on the way home. When I got home, it
- 22:25Speaker 1: was a baby chick inside the egg carding man. One
- 22:29Speaker 1: of the eggs had it had a hatch, and got
- 22:31Speaker 1: my kids traumatized. And now they don't even want to
- 22:33Speaker 1: eat breakfast or nothing around here because it's a baby
- 22:36Speaker 1: chick inside caught the eggs. That don't make no man, um,
- 22:42Speaker 1: I don't mean to let me, so you tell me
- 22:45Speaker 1: it was a chicken, a baby chicken, actual chicken, and
- 22:48Speaker 1: then a baby chick inside the cart and the eggs man,
- 22:52Speaker 1: and you got my kids traumatized. Man, don't nobody what
- 22:55Speaker 1: you got the eggs here the curse. If you just
- 22:58Speaker 1: calmed down for one second, listen what I told y'all,
- 23:03Speaker 1: put that chicken down, and then put it down, it
- 23:06Speaker 1: might have ray b say what. I don't even think
- 23:09Speaker 1: that that's possible. First of all, if you had any
- 23:13Speaker 1: idea how this thing comes from the farm to the store,
- 23:16Speaker 1: it is. They go over these eggs a countless summertimes,
- 23:20Speaker 1: and the temperature and the freezer. First of all, wasn't
- 23:23Speaker 1: even allow for a chicken to be allied if you
- 23:26Speaker 1: had a baby. I don't know I did this one.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I don't know how this one got tasked the system, okay,
- 23:33Speaker 1: But what I do know is we got a baby
- 23:36Speaker 1: chick over here running around because y'all show ain't doing
- 23:40Speaker 1: what y'all's supposed to do. Man, and I got it,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and now my kids are traumatized behind this. When did
- 23:45Speaker 1: you say you were in here? So I was in
- 23:46Speaker 1: there yesterday. I bought the eggs just today. Man, down here,
- 23:51Speaker 1: and I'm free. Yes, I bought him up, said the
- 23:54Speaker 1: grocery stove. I sure did. Okay, let's do this. Why
- 23:58Speaker 1: don't you bring the eggs into me and the chick?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Don't want me to transport a baby chick back to
- 24:05Speaker 1: the grocery store, I ought, Look, we already traumacized over here,
- 24:09Speaker 1: already behind this dog bone baby chick. Man, I'm I'm
- 24:12Speaker 1: not exactly sure what you're trying to pull here, but
- 24:16Speaker 1: I just don't I don't think that. First of all,
- 24:19Speaker 1: any anyone a common sense will tell you that that's
- 24:22Speaker 1: not possible. First of all, you can't have a baby
- 24:25Speaker 1: chick living in a dozen eggs. There is no possible
- 24:29Speaker 1: way that this The temperature and my freezers are right
- 24:33Speaker 1: above freezing. There's no chickens or fragile creature in the
- 24:36Speaker 1: first place. You can't have a little bird is not
- 24:39Speaker 1: gonna survive the transport from the farm to the factory
- 24:43Speaker 1: to my store. I'm not wed. Look, hey, hey, hey,
- 24:49Speaker 1: I'm not gonna go back and forth. But you remember
- 24:51Speaker 1: that babyshit you boy, If you want to bring me
- 24:53Speaker 1: a dozen eggs, bring the dozen eggs in. If you
- 24:56Speaker 1: can catch the chick, catch the chick. Hey, man, you can't.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You you're supposed to be manager. You're not supposed to
- 25:01Speaker 1: talk to me like this. So I mean, I don't
- 25:02Speaker 1: tell you, as politely as possible, if you want to
- 25:05Speaker 1: bring in the leven eggs and a chick, I will
- 25:08Speaker 1: gladly refront your money, give you another car, and ask
- 25:12Speaker 1: whatever you want to do. But I'm not. I don't
- 25:13Speaker 1: even tell you what I don't happen. But I'm got
- 25:15Speaker 1: all a lawsuit because y'all to traumatize me and my chick.
- 25:19Speaker 1: So listen, right, let's just bring this time a lawsuit, sir.
- 25:23Speaker 1: It over a dozen eggs, dozen eggs that got a
- 25:29Speaker 1: baby chick in it. Man, But let me let me
- 25:32Speaker 1: get your phone number as some information, and I will
- 25:34Speaker 1: talk to my manager and we will figure this thing
- 25:37Speaker 1: out for you, because I just I just don't believe
- 25:40Speaker 1: that this would be possible. I just I don't understand
- 25:43Speaker 1: how you would have a chick let him, let just
- 25:47Speaker 1: leave him over that, don't touch the chicken. I just
- 25:50Speaker 1: don't believe that this could possibly be happy. So this
- 25:53Speaker 1: is it's unbelievable to me to even get this phone call.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I don't have time to go back and forth with
- 25:59Speaker 1: you about hid something happened. All I know is it
- 26:02Speaker 1: maybe some fluit accident, Okay, but it happened. My kids
- 26:06Speaker 1: are old here put in with a baby chick, and
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm trauma tid. I don't even want to ever have
- 26:12Speaker 1: brekfas up again. And I'm gonna to make shoke. I
- 26:15Speaker 1: file a lawsuit on your show, and your show me,
- 26:19Speaker 1: I don't scise anything to do with me. I didn't
- 26:22Speaker 1: do anything except coming to rug today. You understand what
- 26:26Speaker 1: I'm saying. If you're an a fall lawsuit, filing a lawsuit,
- 26:30Speaker 1: I'm throwing up on the grocery stow and I'm filing
- 26:32Speaker 1: a lawsuit on the manager Warren, which is your for
- 26:36Speaker 1: giving me a hard time about what I'm telling you
- 26:39Speaker 1: Donna happened. I don't even got a hard time on
- 26:41Speaker 1: a meal as you say. I'm saying you are a
- 26:43Speaker 1: hard time. Comes down here. I'm bringing the bags down here,
- 26:47Speaker 1: and I'm bringing that baby chick that back up down
- 26:50Speaker 1: there too. I'm bringing out all of it or proofs is.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm like to sue it. How much if you pay
- 26:55Speaker 1: for those days? I'm paid my two down and it
- 26:57Speaker 1: ain't blod how much I paid for the edge. That's
- 26:59Speaker 1: what you have Troma kid. Yeah, because I'm gonna give
- 27:01Speaker 1: you just got much back and out when you're doing you,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I'm saying I don't give it. I'm not cut out
- 27:07Speaker 1: here and lind legitmate people offline senses and not something
- 27:11Speaker 1: drop from the telephone telling about some chicken and a
- 27:13Speaker 1: dramming head. Okay, well let me let me tell you
- 27:16Speaker 1: this too. Do you have a guy that works at
- 27:18Speaker 1: the check out our name Tyrant? Yeah, okay, Tyrant got
- 27:23Speaker 1: me the break phone call you. This is nephew Tommy
- 27:26Speaker 1: from the Steve Harvey Morning show warn you just got
- 27:29Speaker 1: pray what you couldn't move? Hey, look, man, I need
- 27:42Speaker 1: come out. Chicken. Chicken is going through a man. Man,
- 27:47Speaker 1: I'm like, I swear gas. Got people looking at me
- 27:49Speaker 1: in this story like I'm craming. Hey one, I gotta
- 27:51Speaker 1: ask you, man, what is it? The baddest that, I mean,
- 27:54Speaker 1: the baddest radio show in the land, man, the Steve
- 27:58Speaker 1: Harvey Warning Show. You check out got tyring? He got
- 28:04Speaker 1: you bad. Yeah, I'm gonna get it too. I'm gonna
- 28:06Speaker 1: put him back and produce. I'm gonna take it off
- 28:08Speaker 1: the rebster about get him stacking. There you go. I
- 28:12Speaker 1: got stupid own lock baby, yeah, own lock. That's true.
- 28:19Speaker 1: So I mean I went to the grocery store yesterday, laughing.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I got to open him up and look at him.
- 28:33Speaker 1: That's funny. I don't know how he thinks of this stuff.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I really don't. I love it. I know you gotta
- 28:44Speaker 1: do it. Somebody gotta do it. Well, you're perfect for
- 28:48Speaker 1: this job. I'm telling perfect, all right, Thank you, nephew.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, as promised,
- 28:56Speaker 1: our special guests will be Congressman Cedric Richmond from the
- 29:00Speaker 1: Great State of Louisiana. We'll talk to him right after this.
- 29:04Speaker 1: You're listening show, Hey, everybody, our special guests represents Louisiana
- 29:12Speaker 1: second Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. Now,
- 29:16Speaker 1: he's currently the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and most importantly, Biden's campaign has named him as the
- 29:24Speaker 1: co chair of Joe Biden's presidential transition team. Let's get
- 29:28Speaker 1: into it, please, Welcome back Congressman Cedric Richmond. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, sir.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Thank you all for having me. Thank you for what
- 29:36Speaker 1: you do, and the crew for putting it down for
- 29:38Speaker 1: so long and being able to tell Joe to keep
- 29:41Speaker 1: it serious all at the same time. That's special, you know, Congressman,
- 29:44Speaker 1: this is all I feel like. It's such a pivotal
- 29:47Speaker 1: year for us. And after Joe Biden came in fifth
- 29:50Speaker 1: place in New Hampshire primary, I understand that you said,
- 29:53Speaker 1: Biden an email and then the email and it said,
- 29:56Speaker 1: if you really believe that you're fighting for the soul
- 29:58Speaker 1: of this country, then got like it. Shortly after that,
- 30:01Speaker 1: Joe Biden named you as one of his key advisors.
- 30:04Speaker 1: What made you send the email? And then what was
- 30:08Speaker 1: the connection between you and Joe Biden, Well we've been closed.
- 30:12Speaker 1: He really helped us went back to the house in
- 30:14Speaker 1: twenty eighteen, and when we lost in twenty sixteen, he
- 30:18Speaker 1: didn't retreat. He really stayed on the battlefield. So I
- 30:20Speaker 1: called him before the twenty eighteen mid terms. I said, look, man,
- 30:23Speaker 1: we got to take back the House, and with your help,
- 30:26Speaker 1: we can do it. And he participated in about forty
- 30:28Speaker 1: race or thirty six of them. We won, And after
- 30:30Speaker 1: that he thought I had a talent for it. But
- 30:32Speaker 1: he didn't realize that I was pushing him to run
- 30:34Speaker 1: for president. So a little while after that, I said,
- 30:36Speaker 1: you have to run. First of all, my kids can't
- 30:39Speaker 1: afford to lose. I said, even if my kids could,
- 30:41Speaker 1: it started a position win with NBA players and other celebrities.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Right now, our kids are gonna be all right. But
- 30:46Speaker 1: it's the unnamed unknown kids and brothers and mothers and
- 30:50Speaker 1: sisters that won't be okay. And I told him, I
- 30:52Speaker 1: said you have to run. We need you to run.
- 30:54Speaker 1: So when he ran, I told him I'd be with him.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And then we finished low and iowalls. But it was
- 31:00Speaker 1: the big fact that I was just not that diverse
- 31:02Speaker 1: of a state. I was like, man, look, we're running
- 31:04Speaker 1: for all the marvels. We all bet the house on it.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Let's just throw caught him to the winning do what
- 31:08Speaker 1: we do. And that was his sentiment, And he and
- 31:11Speaker 1: I were spending a lot of time together, so I
- 31:13Speaker 1: was only channeling him in the first place to just
- 31:16Speaker 1: tell him, you've been scrappy Joe your whole life. Let's
- 31:19Speaker 1: go out as scrappy Joe. Hey, now look, I believe
- 31:21Speaker 1: our first debate is coming up soon. What's the plan here?
- 31:26Speaker 1: I'm not asking for strategy, but what are you all
- 31:29Speaker 1: wanting to accomplish when these two candidates finally meet face
- 31:33Speaker 1: to face head to head, we'll see. That's a good question.
- 31:36Speaker 1: And I'll tell you this one. I think that keeping
- 31:38Speaker 1: the Vice president calm is key because the one thing
- 31:42Speaker 1: he hates fully, you know, really that cowards that mask
- 31:45Speaker 1: themselves as fully. And so you're talking about a guy
- 31:48Speaker 1: in the White House that makes fun of disabled people,
- 31:50Speaker 1: to make fun of veterans and calls them losers. And
- 31:53Speaker 1: that is probably Vice President Biden's biggest pet. See, the
- 31:58Speaker 1: people who pick on vulnerable people. So you just have
- 32:01Speaker 1: to make sure that the Vice President knows that, you know,
- 32:04Speaker 1: it's a bigger issue, and although this guy is a
- 32:07Speaker 1: coward and a bullet, just stick to the facts and
- 32:10Speaker 1: don't let him get under your skin. And then the
- 32:12Speaker 1: other big part of it is making sure that we
- 32:14Speaker 1: fact check him as he talks, because he's he's into
- 32:18Speaker 1: lie number eighteen thousand, four hundred and fifty one probably today.
- 32:23Speaker 1: So we just have to me right. So you just
- 32:26Speaker 1: have to make sure when he said something. It's that
- 32:28Speaker 1: old thing that right before you insult somebody, you say,
- 32:31Speaker 1: with all due respect, though he's just gonna have to say,
- 32:33Speaker 1: with all due respectments the president, you're lying again, because
- 32:37Speaker 1: that's what he does. And that's the challenges of debate.
- 32:40Speaker 1: But I think the biggest challenge, and I think this
- 32:43Speaker 1: is important for the black community. People know who Donald
- 32:45Speaker 1: Trump is, and we don't have to keep showing a
- 32:48Speaker 1: telling our people who he is. We need to tell
- 32:50Speaker 1: people who we are and what we stand for and
- 32:53Speaker 1: what a country under Joe Biden would look like, a
- 32:56Speaker 1: unified country with everybody sticking together to raise everybody's income
- 33:01Speaker 1: and prosperity level. And so I think that's the biggest
- 33:05Speaker 1: challenge because we have to tell people what we want
- 33:07Speaker 1: to do and what we stand for, because I think
- 33:09Speaker 1: our story is great as opposed to just telling people
- 33:12Speaker 1: that the guy in the White House is sick. Everybody
- 33:14Speaker 1: knows that by now here's a problem. We all know it.
- 33:18Speaker 1: But the thing that's concerning me here and we're pushing
- 33:22Speaker 1: really hard on this show for Joe Biden. I want
- 33:24Speaker 1: you to understand that every day on this show, for
- 33:28Speaker 1: ten minutes out of the show, we press vote dot Org,
- 33:32Speaker 1: we press early vote. We are making them aware of
- 33:36Speaker 1: voter suppression all over democratic districts. We are making them
- 33:40Speaker 1: aware of this so we get to go and vote.
- 33:42Speaker 1: We are pushing really hard. What concerns do you all
- 33:46Speaker 1: have as a campaign about this election overall? Because Donald
- 33:51Speaker 1: Trump's base is going to vote. They send stuff to
- 33:55Speaker 1: my phone all the time. Make sure your early vote.
- 33:58Speaker 1: We gonna get him in. Listen, man, I want to
- 34:01Speaker 1: make sure that we, the ones that are behind Biden,
- 34:05Speaker 1: are doing the same kind of fight because man, you
- 34:09Speaker 1: write this, man he just lies repeatedly. But man, is
- 34:12Speaker 1: there anything you would like to see us do that
- 34:15Speaker 1: can help move the needle closer? Thank you for that.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Let me just start with that this election will not
- 34:21Speaker 1: be the first time that black people had to risk
- 34:23Speaker 1: their lives to go vote. And they do it because
- 34:25Speaker 1: they're not worried about their lives. They're worried about the
- 34:27Speaker 1: next generations lives, that children and their grandchildren and make
- 34:30Speaker 1: sure it's better. But what we have to do is
- 34:33Speaker 1: for those black people that are older and worried about COVID,
- 34:37Speaker 1: that we really educate them on how to fill out
- 34:40Speaker 1: that early ballot. Some states require black ink instead of
- 34:43Speaker 1: blue and look, we have a website, I will vote
- 34:46Speaker 1: dot com that educate you on how to fill out
- 34:49Speaker 1: that mail in ballot and we'll have videos up there
- 34:52Speaker 1: soon with people showing them exactly how to do it.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Because the Republicans, you know, they practice in these midterms.
- 34:57Speaker 1: You now, they have thirty lawyers in a small black
- 35:00Speaker 1: precinct and people are like, why are y'all here. They said,
- 35:03Speaker 1: we're getting practiced because they're going to challenge all of
- 35:06Speaker 1: the mail and ballots that we have to make sure
- 35:08Speaker 1: every eye is dotted, tears crossed, the ink is right,
- 35:11Speaker 1: and whether you need a lawyers to are somebody to
- 35:14Speaker 1: notarize it, or you need to witnesses, we just need
- 35:17Speaker 1: to make sure that we do it the right way
- 35:20Speaker 1: so they don't throw out our ballot because we far
- 35:23Speaker 1: too hard to let people take it from us. And
- 35:25Speaker 1: that is the message. So look, but if you're asking me,
- 35:29Speaker 1: and I'm gonna go out on a limit, if you're
- 35:30Speaker 1: asking me if I'm worried about African Americans coming out
- 35:33Speaker 1: to vote this November third, I absolutely am not. They
- 35:36Speaker 1: know what their future looks like and they want a
- 35:38Speaker 1: piece of this guys behind because he has been so
- 35:41Speaker 1: disrespectful from the whole country, to talking about Mandela to
- 35:44Speaker 1: talking about John Lewis. He just can't help himself. Hey, congressman,
- 35:49Speaker 1: hang on for a second. We'll be right back. Everybody,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you're listening, all right, We're back with more. We're sitting
- 35:58Speaker 1: here with a congressman us Cedric Richmond. You know now now,
- 36:02Speaker 1: like I was saying, as the president of the United States,
- 36:05Speaker 1: his behavior has been unacceptable. The scary thing is his
- 36:11Speaker 1: base goes along with whatever, which is the most disheartening
- 36:15Speaker 1: thing about this whole election. Man, they're letting this guy
- 36:18Speaker 1: get away with it. And I want Joe Biden to
- 36:21Speaker 1: check him. Not after the debate is over and the
- 36:25Speaker 1: fact checkers go where we checked and he lied fifteen
- 36:28Speaker 1: times every time he opened his mouth. You got to
- 36:32Speaker 1: crack him dead in the team. That's like you said, Cedric,
- 36:36Speaker 1: that's another lie. That's not how it is, you know.
- 36:40Speaker 1: It's it's like boxes say, Centric. Everybody gotta get him,
- 36:44Speaker 1: gotta plan till you get hit in the mouth. You understand.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Come on, boy, he got to hit Donald Trump dead
- 36:52Speaker 1: in his mouth and then watch him go off the
- 36:56Speaker 1: records and if Joe can stay cool, he gon he
- 37:00Speaker 1: gonna this dude is not a debate real talking. See.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Let me just thank you for making the whole debate
- 37:07Speaker 1: team's job harder because you have now sold franton Joe
- 37:11Speaker 1: to go in there and punch him in the mouth,
- 37:13Speaker 1: and that is exactly what he wants to do, and
- 37:15Speaker 1: we're trying to keep him from doing that. So I
- 37:18Speaker 1: just want to say for making our job just a
- 37:20Speaker 1: little bit harder. But the point is right, we got
- 37:23Speaker 1: to show America who he is and that you know,
- 37:26Speaker 1: all of these people. First of all, he just lies.
- 37:29Speaker 1: So when he ran, remember he said, we're gonna keep
- 37:31Speaker 1: winninguntil we get tired of winning. The farmers, we're gonna
- 37:34Speaker 1: bring your jobs back. They've been more farm bankruptcies in
- 37:37Speaker 1: America under Donald Truth than anybody else. We've lost more
- 37:41Speaker 1: jobs under Donald Trump than anybody else. Barack Obama created
- 37:46Speaker 1: more jobs than Donald Trump has in his entire presidency
- 37:50Speaker 1: in a couple of months. So we will stick to
- 37:54Speaker 1: the fact. And I think that's the part that's important.
- 37:56Speaker 1: But the people who Donald Trump keeps hood wink and fooling,
- 38:01Speaker 1: at some point, we're just gonna have to keep telling
- 38:04Speaker 1: you gotta wake up. No, just because your little rule
- 38:08Speaker 1: America and you think it's cool to have a Donald
- 38:10Speaker 1: Trump sign on your pharm. The fact that our trade
- 38:14Speaker 1: deficit is the worst it's ever been in the history
- 38:18Speaker 1: of the United States, should buy the farmers. And by
- 38:21Speaker 1: the way, there's great walls that he spent twenty billion
- 38:24Speaker 1: dollars building four miles. I thought he said Mexico was
- 38:28Speaker 1: gonna pay for That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
- 38:30Speaker 1: But we're paying for it, So that's what I'm saying. Look,
- 38:33Speaker 1: we're gonna call him out, all right, Congressman Richmond, hang
- 38:37Speaker 1: on one more second. Man, you got some good stuff here.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Just hang on one second. We'll be right back. Everybody,
- 38:42Speaker 1: you're listening, all right, we're back with more, and we're
- 38:47Speaker 1: sitting here with a Congressman Cedric Richmond, and you know, Congressman,
- 38:52Speaker 1: like I was saying, we gotta hit him in a mouth.
- 38:54Speaker 1: We gotta stay calm doing it because we gotta keep
- 38:57Speaker 1: putting the facts out and show the difference between a
- 39:00Speaker 1: Joe Biden America and a Donald Trump America, because we're
- 39:04Speaker 1: sickening to me it is Donald Trump is pushing their
- 39:07Speaker 1: plan that Joe Biden's America won't be safe. Hold up, man,
- 39:11Speaker 1: the America you got right now? This is your America youtvision. Yeah,
- 39:16Speaker 1: you're the president. Man. We're gonna have two hundred thousand
- 39:19Speaker 1: deaths by the time we get to the election. Hey, dog,
- 39:21Speaker 1: just on your watch. You can't blame this on Joe Biden.
- 39:25Speaker 1: This is your watch man. You're absolutely right. You can't
- 39:28Speaker 1: say violence in the streets is gonna be under Joe
- 39:30Speaker 1: Biden when the violence in the streets is because of you.
- 39:33Speaker 1: You empower white supremacists to come meet people protesters with guns,
- 39:37Speaker 1: and then I have a whole crazy congressman in Louisiana
- 39:40Speaker 1: said he liked to drop ten protesters. See, we can't
- 39:44Speaker 1: really fall for that. We have to at least recognize
- 39:47Speaker 1: that we have an HBCU grad because you know, I'm
- 39:50Speaker 1: a more houseman. Y'all can't hate this early, but I
- 39:54Speaker 1: am a more houseman. Can we have an eighth BCU
- 39:58Speaker 1: woman that is dominated to be the vice president of
- 40:02Speaker 1: the United States of Americans? And I don't care if
- 40:05Speaker 1: Trump to never pronounced a name right, because it ain't
- 40:07Speaker 1: what they call you, it's what your answer to. And
- 40:09Speaker 1: I'm telling you that woman sin of the Tamala Harris,
- 40:13Speaker 1: it's the real deal. Look, I think it's a good ticket.
- 40:16Speaker 1: I think it's a good combination. I think it's something
- 40:18Speaker 1: that can move the country forward in terms of empowering people.
- 40:21Speaker 1: So I just like the fact that see that you
- 40:24Speaker 1: all can Joe taking serious, but you figure out a
- 40:28Speaker 1: way to really touch people's conscious and to make them
- 40:31Speaker 1: realize what's important for their families. And so I just
- 40:34Speaker 1: I really thank you for that, just just doing what
- 40:37Speaker 1: you're doing. Hey man, listen to me. You calling me
- 40:39Speaker 1: in has helped us greatly because I'm gonna tell you something.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I was talking with some young black voters and I
- 40:45Speaker 1: was trying to get them to understand the importance of voting.
- 40:47Speaker 1: They said, well, we don't really care for either one. Okay, Well,
- 40:50Speaker 1: but well, what has what is body gonna do for
- 40:53Speaker 1: black people? Well, listen to me. I can't make no
- 40:56Speaker 1: promise of what he gonna do when he gets there.
- 40:58Speaker 1: But let me tell what he already does. He has
- 41:00Speaker 1: already put on the ticket the first African American woman
- 41:04Speaker 1: to ever run on a presidential ticket in the history
- 41:07Speaker 1: of this nation. Now, I don't know how else to say.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I'm with y'all better than that right there. Now, if
- 41:17Speaker 1: you want to be president of this United States, you
- 41:20Speaker 1: can't stand up on the box and say I'm gonna
- 41:23Speaker 1: do this for black people, that for black people, just
- 41:25Speaker 1: for black people, now for black black because you can't
- 41:27Speaker 1: alienate everybody. You got to talk about us and we
- 41:30Speaker 1: and we got to stop thinking that somebody gonna single
- 41:33Speaker 1: us out make us feel special, because the person that
- 41:35Speaker 1: wins the president United States has to say us and
- 41:38Speaker 1: we continually, because he's trying to appeal to a multiple
- 41:42Speaker 1: group all people. So I got that, But for every
- 41:45Speaker 1: black person is listening to the damn show right now
- 41:49Speaker 1: with all this foolishness, what has he done for us?
- 41:53Speaker 1: Let's start with putting the first African American woman on
- 41:57Speaker 1: a presidential ticket in the history of this country. Now
- 41:59Speaker 1: it's just you're absolutely right. But then he doubled down
- 42:03Speaker 1: by saying, I'm gonna put the first black woman on
- 42:05Speaker 1: the United States Supreme Court, which is an appointment for life.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Then he said, look, I'm not gonna talk about criminal
- 42:11Speaker 1: justice reform and policing reform is the only issue that's
- 42:14Speaker 1: important for Black Americas. I'm going to make sure that
- 42:17Speaker 1: we increase home ownership. We create a fund with thirty
- 42:20Speaker 1: billion dollars from the federal government with five to one
- 42:23Speaker 1: match from private industry. So you're talking about a hundred
- 42:26Speaker 1: and fifty billion dollar fund for black entrepreneurs to create
- 42:30Speaker 1: their businesses and pursue their dreams. Look, we have a
- 42:33Speaker 1: great spacific message, not rate neutral, that we are going
- 42:37Speaker 1: to empower the black community. Our school districts that are
- 42:40Speaker 1: in four neighborhoods, and school districts are funded by property tax,
- 42:44Speaker 1: so those school districts are usually eight times underfunded than
- 42:48Speaker 1: wealthy school districts. We're gonna triple Title one funding directly
- 42:52Speaker 1: to those schools to make sure that we even the
- 42:54Speaker 1: funding gap, so that we even the achievement gaps. We're
- 42:58Speaker 1: going to start school now at three instead of five,
- 43:01Speaker 1: so that our black babies are learning school material at three.
- 43:05Speaker 1: So look, we're not all about just writing those other wrongs.
- 43:08Speaker 1: We want to make sure that we empowered the black
- 43:10Speaker 1: community to achieve that wildest dreams. So that's why I'm there,
- 43:14Speaker 1: and that's why I'm with him. And look, I would
- 43:15Speaker 1: not put my street cred on the line if I
- 43:17Speaker 1: did not one believe in the job that Joe Biden
- 43:21Speaker 1: would do. Thank you so much, your powerful brother. We
- 43:24Speaker 1: enjoyed you, and now we understand the mission that Joe
- 43:27Speaker 1: Biden is on and we're gonna support your brother. We
- 43:29Speaker 1: appreciate you that. Thank y'all for doing this, and keep
- 43:31Speaker 1: up the good work. And God bless y'all too. Coming
- 43:33Speaker 1: up next, we're gonna switch gears. Nephew Tommy will be
- 43:36Speaker 1: here with a brank phone call right after this. You're

- 51:27Speaker 1: But that's all I can do. I ain't coming down there,
- 51:30Speaker 1: I ain't coming down now. I ain't got nothing to

- 51:36Speaker 1: me to do? What ver? What you want me to do?
- 51:45Speaker 1: I don't know how you come up with him? Tell me,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I really don't let side. Surely, let me explain something
- 51:49Speaker 1: to you. A lot of people use the right side
- 51:51Speaker 1: of the bright. Yeah, I used the majority of the time, Okay,
- 51:56Speaker 1: And that's where all the creative stuff is. It's on
- 51:58Speaker 1: the left, and a lot of people don't it. A
- 52:00Speaker 1: lot of people don't know how to go there and
- 52:02Speaker 1: use that side. Some people are just stuck on the right.
- 52:05Speaker 1: And you know, I'm just happening to be blasted like that. Well,
- 52:09Speaker 1: thank you for breaking that down in your brain to
- 52:12Speaker 1: the left. Okay, what's everything he does in his brain
- 52:20Speaker 1: to the left, that's all right, Thank you left brained people.

- 53:09Speaker 1: It is Strawberry Letter, Thank you. Nephew's subject, she had
- 53:12Speaker 1: my clothes on when he walked in. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 53:16Speaker 1: I just got into a bad fistfight with my best
- 53:19Speaker 1: buddy because of a woman that he is secretly in
- 53:22Speaker 1: love with. I had a house party recently and we
- 53:25Speaker 1: all had a lot to drink, so I offered to
- 53:28Speaker 1: let a few people stay over all night. My boy
- 53:31Speaker 1: was trying to talk to the finest girl that was there,
- 53:34Speaker 1: and she was not really receptive to him. He told
- 53:37Speaker 1: me that she asked about me but she's not my type,
- 53:40Speaker 1: so I didn't pay it any mind. She ended up
- 53:42Speaker 1: staying at my house because she lives in the suburbs
- 53:45Speaker 1: and had been drinking. In fact, two other girls that
- 53:48Speaker 1: came with her also stayed, and the three of them
- 53:51Speaker 1: slept in my guest room. The fine girl asked for
- 53:54Speaker 1: a pair of basketball shorts and a T shirt to
- 53:56Speaker 1: sleep in because she had on a dress. I had
- 53:59Speaker 1: an other girl in my bed that night and we
- 54:01Speaker 1: had a great time. Let me be clear, it was
- 54:04Speaker 1: not the fine girl that my buddy has a crush on.
- 54:07Speaker 1: The Next morning, my buddy popped up at my place
- 54:10Speaker 1: and the girls were still there and making breakfast, so
- 54:13Speaker 1: his crush still had on my clothes. I could tell.
- 54:16Speaker 1: He assumed that something went down between us. He asked
- 54:19Speaker 1: me to step outside, and without saying a word, he
- 54:22Speaker 1: punched me in the face. And then we start and
- 54:26Speaker 1: then we started tussling. The girls ran out and broke
- 54:29Speaker 1: up the fight, and he told the fine girl she
- 54:31Speaker 1: was trash. She was puzzled because she had no idea
- 54:35Speaker 1: he was crazy about her. All I care about now
- 54:38Speaker 1: is getting him back for punching me. He has messed
- 54:41Speaker 1: up my any possibilities of getting with the girl and
- 54:44Speaker 1: it was all over nothing. So should I try talking
- 54:48Speaker 1: some sense into him? Or should I beat his ass
- 54:51Speaker 1: first and then see what happens with our friendship? Let
- 54:55Speaker 1: us say it. Should I beat his ass first? Yeah?
- 54:59Speaker 1: And spelled it? Same thing, all right? Yeah? Should I
- 55:03Speaker 1: beat him up first and then see what happens with
- 55:06Speaker 1: our friendship? Please help? Okay? How old are you? Guys?
- 55:09Speaker 1: Are you seven and eight? Because I don't know any
- 55:12Speaker 1: grown men who act like this. I just don't, and
- 55:15Speaker 1: your friend more so than you. I think you know
- 55:19Speaker 1: he's immature. He sucker punched you and for no reason. Yeah,
- 55:26Speaker 1: but now he was so wrong. He had no proof.
- 55:30Speaker 1: He didn't catch you guys doing anything. He didn't he
- 55:33Speaker 1: didn't see anything. I mean, all he saw was her
- 55:36Speaker 1: wearing your shorts and tea. He just came to his
- 55:40Speaker 1: own wrong conclusion. Okay, I just none of the stuff
- 55:44Speaker 1: that would make a man just haul off and put
- 55:45Speaker 1: his hands on you. And they don't go together, they're
- 55:48Speaker 1: not sleeping together, and the woman has no idea that
- 55:51Speaker 1: he feels a certain way about her. I don't think
- 55:54Speaker 1: this guy is really your friend. He sounds like a
- 55:56Speaker 1: little hater to me and just a little child. I
- 55:59Speaker 1: wouldn't waste my time trying to explain to him what
- 56:01Speaker 1: happened or what didn't happen. I think he should have
- 56:05Speaker 1: at least asked you when he asked you to step outside.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Why couldn't he ask you what happened? Why does she
- 56:10Speaker 1: have on your clothes? Whatever? Before he just hauled off
- 56:14Speaker 1: and swung on you. I think at this point fighting
- 56:17Speaker 1: him as a waste too, especially since time has gone by.
- 56:21Speaker 1: I just think he needs I just think he needs
- 56:24Speaker 1: to grow up. I just think he needs to grow up. Steve. Yeah,
- 56:27Speaker 1: come on, I know you want to fight, because that's
- 56:30Speaker 1: what you do. But you know, surely yesterday I agree
- 56:35Speaker 1: with you. Okay, we don't always agree. Now, well, just
- 56:40Speaker 1: I'm right here. The only reason we don't agree is
- 56:42Speaker 1: because I know you're missing a key element you said
- 56:47Speaker 1: in the letter. Men don't do that. They do it
- 56:49Speaker 1: all the damn time, grown men, but men do. It's
- 56:54Speaker 1: asked what was going down about some sex? Now? But
- 56:57Speaker 1: there was no sex? Were to see the thoughts that
- 57:02Speaker 1: sex in this letter? Ship? Ain't nobody missed no sex? Yes? Right?
- 57:08Speaker 1: Not the people? Yeah, but surely here's what happens? Sea's
- 57:12Speaker 1: what happened? Sweet it? Because I don't want you to
- 57:14Speaker 1: miss this house party. We all had a lot to drink,
- 57:18Speaker 1: so you let a few people stay over. You didn't
- 57:20Speaker 1: really give damn about no dude staying over. You wanted
- 57:23Speaker 1: some girls to stay over, so the few people just
- 57:25Speaker 1: having to be girls. Now, all night, your boy was
- 57:29Speaker 1: talking to the finest girl that was there, and she
- 57:32Speaker 1: wasn't having it. She wasn't feeling it. But now he's
- 57:35Speaker 1: crazy about it. Right. He told me that she asked
- 57:39Speaker 1: about me. But then this dude say, she ain't my type,
- 57:43Speaker 1: so I ain't paying no mind. Hold up, dog, hold up,
- 57:46Speaker 1: see that like him? Baddest girl at the party, ain't
- 57:53Speaker 1: ain't your damn tight boy. Oh that's the liar saying
- 57:59Speaker 1: he's not sure, Shelley. This is Dzy's young dudes. Now
- 58:03Speaker 1: they are there because you said my boy was trying
- 58:07Speaker 1: to talk to the finest girl that was there. She
- 58:10Speaker 1: was not really receptive to him. Now, how did you
- 58:14Speaker 1: know that unless you observed it. He told me that
- 58:18Speaker 1: she asked about me. Now, this fine girl asked about you,
- 58:24Speaker 1: but she's not my type, so I ain't paying no mind.
- 58:27Speaker 1: What so she ended up staying at my house because
- 58:31Speaker 1: she lived in the suburbs and had been drinking. And
- 58:34Speaker 1: two other girls came with a state, and the three
- 58:36Speaker 1: of them slept in your guest room. The fine girl
- 58:39Speaker 1: asked for a pair of basketball shorts and a T
- 58:42Speaker 1: shirt sleeping because she had a dress on. I am
- 58:45Speaker 1: now I had another girl in my bed that night.
- 58:47Speaker 1: We had a great time. Now right there, the fine
- 58:51Speaker 1: girl in your basketball short, the little time girl in
- 58:56Speaker 1: the bed with you. Now. The only reason this fine
- 58:59Speaker 1: girl ain't you type, it's cause she don't jump into
- 59:01Speaker 1: bed right away, cause you were in there with shock attack,
- 59:06Speaker 1: in there going at it. Okay, well, come up home
- 59:11Speaker 1: and got some draws. All right, Let's hold that, hold that,
- 59:15Speaker 1: hold that, hold that where you're going, Steve boy, we'll
- 59:20Speaker 1: come back, and I have part two of Steve's response
- 59:22Speaker 1: to this letter coming up at twenty three minutes after
- 59:25Speaker 1: the the hour subject she had my clothes on when
- 59:28Speaker 1: he walked in. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 59:31Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Steve, come on, let's recap
- 59:36Speaker 1: the Strawberry letter. Today's subject she had my clothes on
- 59:40Speaker 1: when he walked in. Yeah, dude got a best friend
- 59:43Speaker 1: talking to this part of their head. They got to
- 59:45Speaker 1: drink and he decided to let some people stay over
- 59:48Speaker 1: the house. His boy was talking to the finest chick
- 59:51Speaker 1: at the party. She wasn't really feeling them, so he
- 59:53Speaker 1: came and told him, hey, man, she feeling you. Findest
- 59:57Speaker 1: girl in party? Now, he said, I ain't paying no
- 59:59Speaker 1: attention call. She ain't my tight. They spent the night.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: You gave the fine girls some basketball shorts and a
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: T shirt, but you was in another room with another
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: girl having a great time. Now the reason the fine
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: girl ain't your type. It is called the fine girl
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: might have had some standards and maybe she won't just
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: jump in the rack white away. But you were in
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: there with mighty Joe Young all night long. I do
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: not say that. Yeah, and a little mighty Joe Young.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: You're wearing your ass out a good ass time all
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: right now. Now, then you said in the letter, let
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: me be clear, it was not the fine girl that
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: my body was had a crush on. Which is cool, bro,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I ain't mad at you at all. This was not
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: the fine girl you gave the basketball shorts too, that
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: your boy got a crush on. Next morning, your boy
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: popped over the girls was there making breakfast. So his
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: crush was still there making breakfast and had on your clothes.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Your boy know your basketball shorts because y'all at the
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: gym in them same shows. So now then here what
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: a letter took a turn? I could tell he assumed
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: that something went down between us because he came in.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Hey man, was that it? Man? Oh? Y'all still here? Still? Hey?
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Hist are crushed? Yeah? Yeah, oh yeah, oh oh? She
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: and there with his bass washer. What you what you
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: what you're doing? We're cooking breakfast. Bast all night got
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: his shots, got his shots on it. So now to
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: do he spots this? He said. I could tell he
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: assumed that something went down. He asked me to step outside,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: no dog, and you already know now how he feeled
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: about this girl. You saw the you you still here? Yeah?
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: You still now? He asked you to step outside. What
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: you think y'all was going out there? Force the fresh air.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: He wanted to talk, and he asked me to step outside.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Without saying a word, he hauls off, sucker, punch me
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: dead in my damn mouth, right, and we got to
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: tuss it. The girls ran out and broke up the fight,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: and he told the fight you piece of trash. You
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: know I liked it at you, not a girl, the
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: girl what what is? What is wrong with you? Because
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: she had no idea the fire girl that note that
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: he was crazy about him? Right, but why would he
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: go tell his boy? Did he sucker punch? She asked
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: about you because she let me tell you something. She
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: asked about you because you the one got the house
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: and she acts like she drunks and she could spend
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: the night there and wake up and fix breakfast. She
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: know your stupid ass was in the back with Mighty
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Joe Young back then, making jungle noises all damn night.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: And now you said, if it tell me about all
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I care about now it's getting him back. He has
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: messed up any possibilities of getting with the girl. Dog.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: But he told you that the girl was asking about you.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: But since you said that ain't yo tight, he figured
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: he's still in the hunt. But now he can't be
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: cause you you'dn't been in the bed with him with
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: the clothes on. That's what it looked like. That's why
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: you got sucker punch. And now he didn't messed up
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: any possibility of getting with the girl because she think
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: he crazy and it was all over nothing. So should
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I try talking some sense of to him? Or should
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I beat his ass first and then see what happens
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: without friend show? Yeah, because all I care about now
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: is getting back at him for punching me. Well, he
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: tagged your ass nice, you got touched. Now you know
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: your friend something wrong with it, Strawberry. Now I let
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: this go. Thank you. Now. What I don't understand though,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: is how you was in there with Mighty Joe Young
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: and the fine ship got your clothes on, he said
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: to define this girl in there ain't your type. What
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: he said he had a good time when he said
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: he had a great time with another girl with because
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: he was getting that wrestling with God's jealer. What he
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: said if she wanted to find this girl after party?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: What was she did? Third, we gotta go you back
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: in the end, the bad sleeping with eighth Place and
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: now you hell. Post your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter

- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Watson in the Houston Texas and they had Patrick Mahomes
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: and the world champion Kansas City Chiefs. Now due to
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: the coronavirus, there was only seventeen thousand fans at Arrowheads Stadium,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: which had a Yes, seventeen thousand. The coronavirus ain't had
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: nothing to do with that ass. Who I'm not going
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: there with him. Yeah, I'm not doing it. You know.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Last night Rockets already, you're not gonna let them. Rockets
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: is lost. They all up in our head getting their
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: ass quilp arrow Head. They had the whole head of
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: that arrow Ain't dead up in the Center Park or
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: the Texas. Man. I looked up, Man, I was watching
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: the game and it was seven zero. I said, oh, man,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Houston in the ass. I wouldn't made a coup covering
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: camera sting seventeen seven. You know all went to hell
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: that well the Texas hot out of Rockets doing they
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: lost last night? You know, don't see shut well they lost.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: I was waiting on sports. Go ahead, and Jake, I'm
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: gonna answer. When both teams los in the big city,

- 1:07:25Speaker 1: We go to work, I'm here, ain't. Yeah, they trying.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: They trying to act like like like their jobs. I
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: didn't bring it up. You saw who brought it up? Jake.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: You don't want to do spokes. I just asked, y'all wait, wait,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: wait he saw are the rocket down? The Rockets down?
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Listen to me. It's spokes when you're getting your ass sports,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: when you have good news. Yeah, it's spokes right now
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: because the Rockets down three one, So basically we've talked
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: about three ass livings on this show already. The right
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: hold up, Junior, the Rockets is down three to one, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: I thought it was two to one. All right, we
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: gotta go. Yeah, coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: We'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: after this. You're listening. Today is September eleventh, the National
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Day of Service and Remembrance. We will never forget the
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: lives and the families left behind, the first responders who
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: bravely fought to save lives, and the members of the
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: military who have served in response. Thank you to our heroes.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: We will never forget you never. I mean, that's just
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: an historic day, you know, for the US. Yeah, and
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: it is today, September eleventh. Yea, remember it. Yeah, we
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: love our heroes, our first thank you, thank you so much.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, cly yes, all right, An, would you say, Junior,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: I thought it wasn't move. I didn't believe it's real.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: That's true, Yeah, it was, it was. It was so shocking, Yeah,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: because it never happened on our soil beach. No, we
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: were on the when we were on the air, when
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I thought it was a twin engine plane that flew
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: into the side of the building. Yeah, it was horrible. Yeah,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: because we were burying Jackie's mom that day. Wow, your
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: mother in law. Yeah yeah, yeah, yep. Well, um, okay,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: we're gonna truck. Couldn't believe what was happening, right, Yeah,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: it was. It was hard to process what was going on.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, So, um, we're gonna try and switch gears here.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: This is according now to the Black Information Network. It's
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: been revealed that President Trump knew in February that COVID
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: nineteen was quote deadly stuff, but wanted to quote play
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: it down to the American people. Now. This is according
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: to a new book that has been released by fame
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: journalists Bob Woodward. In Woodward's book called Rage, it is
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: set to be released next week. Trump told Woodward in
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: a February seventh phone call that this virus is more
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: deadly than even your strenuous flew this while outwardly sang
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: to the American public that it was a hoax. We
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: all remember that well. Joe Biden reacted to the news
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: that President Trump knew back in February how deadly COVID
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: nineteen was, and Biden called it disgusting that Trump knew
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: and didn't do anything about it. Biden also said that
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: by Trump downplaying the severity of the virus, he cost lives. Also,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: during the same interview with Bob Woodward, President Trump dismissed
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: white privilege and accused Woodword of drinking the kool aid
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: on racism. Wow, people are waiting for that book to
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: come out. I don't need the book. He's thoroughly convinced
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: me who he is. Yeah, I mean, you know, I
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: forgot who would say. But there's often said when a
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: person tells you who they really are, believe them. You know. Yeah,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: I mean whoever it was, that's that's just yeah, we
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: heard his own voice, so Bob. Yeah. And Bob Woodword
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: is a respected journalist. Remember he was the one that
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: brought Nixon down and for water Gate. You know, sad
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: part about it, The so so sad part about this
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: is that this country is a little bit sicker than
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: we think because and I'm gonna tell you two reasons.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Number one, I used to think it was only a
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: few bad police officers. I think it's more than just
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: a few. There are a lot of great men and
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: women that are police officers. I grant it, but this
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: happens too frequently for it just to be only a few.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I think the number of bad police officers are too high.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: And it has a lot to do with the training,
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: the background checks, and the and the and the racial
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: sensitivity training which doesn't exist for a lot. Yeah, one
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: hundred and six and what is been killed by police
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: eight months in eight months this year? This year? Right? Wow,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: that I meant really hard. Yeah, we we have to.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I mean, at least we can do what we can do,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: and that means voting. All right, coming up, we'll have
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show at twenty minutes
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: after the alumal Trump, y'all gonna mess up my weekend.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: I want to talk about Well, he's still the president
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: until we vote him out. We got that's right. We
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: don't want to talk about it. But he talking about us? Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: all right, we'll be back with more right after this.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Corlin's here with Carlin's Music News.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: What you got for us, Carla? The versus Battle, The

- 1:13:46Speaker 1: years of performance. Now when you talk about number one
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: hits and hits, Gladdys Night has monster hits all the
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: way back to the Pips. Hattie LaBelle has been one
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: of our greatest living female artists to see live. Yes,

- 1:16:55Speaker 1: trying to say that's not that's not glad, it's not
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: I'll be damn if that's not gonna lead up. That
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: is glad. It's nice and in the pits. First of all,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: you don't even know who the hell or Nita Adams.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Let's just go there and you don't know who that is. Second,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: that is her damn song. I can't leave, Okay, give me,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: give us another pack. I'm trying to tell you my mom,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: whatever it tastes to make you happy, Patty hands so
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: many would she do that with dog? I'm telling you,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: I'm just gonna turn my computer all I can't watch
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: you every t to make who I have a pie
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: in my head, Patty pie. You can have a pie
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: in your head when they play that Manna pull my
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Patty Patna Baker. Yeah, all right, look, I ain't no
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Anita Baker. That's We'll smile. We'll be back coming up.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: It's the last break of the day. Thank god you're
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: listening to well, Steve. Here we are fifty three days
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: left until election day, November third. Uh. If you want
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: to register to vote right now, go to vote for
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: one one dot org. You can find out information on
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: early voting in your state. Early voting has started. It
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: has begun all across the nation. Most states have begun.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Go to vote for one one dot org or go
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: to vote dot org. Go to either one of those sites.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: Early voting has started. Hey man, Trump is busy. His
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: campaign is busy. He's telling all of his voters now
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: to vote, to mail in your ballots. That's the best
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: way to get him counted. He's telling them that, and
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: then at the same time he's discrediting the mail service. See.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: I don't know if you notice what he did, but
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: all those mailboxes he removed was in predominantly democratic districts.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: The majority of polls that were closed to condense it
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: down was in predominantly democratic districts. This man is trying
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: to steal the election. He is doing all the most
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: dishonorable things you've ever seen. Listen to me, black people.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I'm talking directly to black people right now, because if
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: you don't get out and vote, stop all this complaining
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: about what ain't happening for us and what he's doing
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: in all this here. If you don't vote, out, shut
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: your damn mouth. If you don't get out and vote,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: just shut your damn mouth. If you don't vote, this
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: is a chance that you have to change the direction
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: of this country by getting out to vote. This is critical.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: The NBA players are begging you to vote. The NFL
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: players are begging you to vote. The Black Lives Movement
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: is begging you to vote. I am begging you to vote.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: My brother d L. Hugely is begging you to vote.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: My brother Ricky Smiley is begging you to vote. I've
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: been on the phone with Charlemagne to God. Charlemagne is
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: begging you to vote. All of us who control the
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: airways have been on phones discussing, drumming this message into
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: our viewers heads. We have got to vote, young people.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: If you have the attitude that you don't like either candidate,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: so you're not gonna vote for either one. If you
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: don't vote, Donald Trump stays in office, that's just flat
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: out of fact. If you do not vote, Donald Trump
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: stays in office. The way Donald Trump won before, he
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: did not win the popular vote. He won the electorial vote.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: But if we had turned out in large numbers, the
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: eluctorial vote would have had to sway the other way.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: So in Florida, five over five hundred thousand black people
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: didn't vote. That would have changed Florida. In Philly alone,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: two hundred and forty eight thousand black people didn't vote.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: That would have changed Philadelphia. In Michigan, just Detroit alone,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: three hundred some thousand black people didn't vote. That would
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: have changed the election. I'm talking to black people. Ain't
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: nobody playing with you no more. This is our life,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: this is our business, damn it. This is our country.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: It ain't vague country. It's our country, meaning all of ours.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: And you gotta start acting like it, man, And we
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: got to vote. Congressman Lewis died fighting for our rights.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: All of these people gave up their life. Rosa Parks
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: refused to sit in the back of the bus so
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: we would have rights to ride in the front of
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: the bus. Marty Luther King ain't here no more because
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: he went to Memphis to support the sanitation workers who
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: carried signs and said I am a man. In the
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: year twenty twenty, we got basketball players with T shirts
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: on it that say I am a man. Now we
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: got new sheet T shirts that say I can't breathe.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: We could have been having T shirts out years ago.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Stop hanging me, Stop lynching me, stop tying, feathering me,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: stop dragging me behind trucks, stop hunting me down like dogs,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: stop selling me, stop enslaving me, stop whipping me, flogging me,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: stop hunting me down, stop trading me. You got a
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: chance to vote. Man, just been going on two damn long.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: And now when you have the right to vote. We
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: have the audacity act like we're gonna sit it out.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: You don't have the right to sit it out, man.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: Just try to understand your history just a bit, y'all.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: We got to vote. Early voting has begun. Early voting
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: has begun. You can get a ballot and send it in.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: But when you get this ballot, I want you to
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: read it carefully because some ballots require you to have
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: black ink, not blue ink. Some will only accept blue ink.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Some will accept it if it's notarized. They got rules, man,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: They trying to suppress our vote, and they specialize in this,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: come up with new laws every year to keep us
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: away from the polls because they know if they keep
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: us away from the polls, they can control the narrative.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: And who is in power? Do you understand, as black people,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: you have an opportunity to decide who goals and who
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: stays and who plays. If you are tired of direction
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: of this country, if you are tired of watching us
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: get gunned down by the police and nothing happened, is
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: up a president that supports blue power. I am not
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: against police at all, not at all. I need them.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: I call them all the time. But We got to
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: get rid of the ones that's killing us man, and
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: the only way to do it is get some right
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: leadership that will help put laws into place. He is
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: not the one. You have got to vote. Early voting
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: has begun. Do your Paul. Thank you for all Steve
