- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know, y'all back all looking back to back down,
- 0:13Speaker 1: giving them like theming bu bu things and it's not good.
- 0:21Speaker 1: String to mother, stay, don't join me. You gotta use
- 0:59Speaker 1: that turn out, very you gotta turn to turn them out.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Love got the turnout to turn turn the water the water. Come,
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your baby, I share will a good marning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, come on, dig me now.
- 2:07Speaker 1: One and only. Steve Harvey got a radio show. Oh man,
- 2:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show because God. Because God
- 2:15Speaker 1: is simply amazing. Because God is off the chain, because
- 2:20Speaker 1: God is over the top, because God is all that
- 2:23Speaker 1: in a bag of chips. God is amazing. Man. God
- 2:27Speaker 1: will take you places that you never ever thought you
- 2:30Speaker 1: would go. Oh you know what? It Sometimes it amazes
- 2:34Speaker 1: me when I'm watching all people talk about themselves and
- 2:38Speaker 1: their careers and where they're adding life and things and
- 2:41Speaker 1: they and I hear people say, you know, always dreamed
- 2:44Speaker 1: of being him. You know, I can understand when a
- 2:48Speaker 1: person says that I've always dreamed of something like this
- 2:52Speaker 1: would happen to me. But I want you to think
- 2:54Speaker 1: about that for a second. Did you really see it
- 2:59Speaker 1: just like that though? Did you really really see it
- 3:04Speaker 1: just like that? Did you really know that God was
- 3:10Speaker 1: gonna bring you through all he bought you through to
- 3:13Speaker 1: get you to this place? Did you know that, in
- 3:16Speaker 1: spite of the losses along the way that would crumble
- 3:20Speaker 1: the average person, that somehow He kept you through it
- 3:23Speaker 1: all and that's how you got here? Did you think
- 3:28Speaker 1: of you know? I mean, you know, you know. I mean,
- 3:30Speaker 1: since you're so busy talking about yourself now, have you
- 3:34Speaker 1: forgotten all the times He was bringing you through when
- 3:38Speaker 1: you didn't see no way that you was gonna get through?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Do you remember that? So when you sit there and
- 3:45Speaker 1: you say, I dreamed of this, this is what I
- 3:49Speaker 1: always saw happening, I don't really think. So, I don't
- 3:52Speaker 1: really think. If you take inventory, or real close inventory
- 3:56Speaker 1: of your life and you look back on it all,
- 3:59Speaker 1: stop looking at the moment right now, remember where you
- 4:02Speaker 1: come from. See, that's what gets me emotional sometimes, that's
- 4:05Speaker 1: what makes me tear up, because when something is happening
- 4:08Speaker 1: to me in the moment, it ain't the moment for me,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it's the memory of how I got there. It's the
- 4:16Speaker 1: recollection of all the things, all the nights, all the
- 4:21Speaker 1: days in that car, all the times by myself when
- 4:25Speaker 1: I felt like I wasn't gonna make it. But somehow
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm standing somewhere and somebody passing out an the ward
- 4:31Speaker 1: to me or somebody calling my name, that's that. Did
- 4:35Speaker 1: you really think you was gonna make it? Then? So
- 4:38Speaker 1: so so, since you're talking about this is what I
- 4:40Speaker 1: always dreamed of? Did you really think in those moments
- 4:44Speaker 1: right there that you would even be standing here today?
- 4:46Speaker 1: That's why I try. I try to give people understand
- 4:49Speaker 1: you know, and and and and this is kind of
- 4:51Speaker 1: for young people today what I'm about to say. But
- 4:54Speaker 1: then guess what I sometimes I have to remind myself
- 4:57Speaker 1: of it. So I guess it's still kind of for everybody,
- 5:00Speaker 1: you know, because I work with a lot of young people,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and so many times, man, young people just don't understand
- 5:08Speaker 1: what all it takes. And I know, and if you're
- 5:12Speaker 1: a full grown a dot, if you're forty, you you
- 5:14Speaker 1: really understanding where I'm coming from, because you know, it's
- 5:20Speaker 1: listen to me, young people or anybody that don't understand this,
- 5:24Speaker 1: that you got to do some things that you don't
- 5:27Speaker 1: want to do. In order to do what you want
- 5:30Speaker 1: to do, you have to understand this principle of success
- 5:35Speaker 1: or else you are not going to become successful. I
- 5:39Speaker 1: got what you want to do. I got your ultimate goal?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Is this, that, and the other? I got all of that.
- 5:45Speaker 1: But in the meantime, though, there are some necessary steps
- 5:50Speaker 1: that you have to take in order to become successful,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and you cannot skip these steps. You can't jump over
- 5:56Speaker 1: these steps just because you want to be rich, Friday,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I got that. I got that. Everybody got that. But
- 6:04Speaker 1: if you want this, whatever you're talking about, whether it's
- 6:07Speaker 1: money or success or fame or climbing the corporate letter
- 6:11Speaker 1: or this is the position or you all, that's fine,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and Danny, please hold on to your dreams. Dreams come true.
- 6:19Speaker 1: But in the meantime, let me remind you of something
- 6:24Speaker 1: that you gotta do some things you don't want to
- 6:26Speaker 1: do in order to do what you want to do.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Let's say you want to be rich and famous. Let's
- 6:32Speaker 1: just say that's it for you. Let's sit It's a
- 6:35Speaker 1: lot of other ways of being successful. Please don't think
- 6:37Speaker 1: that's the only one. But I'm just saying, let's just
- 6:39Speaker 1: say yours is rich and famous, And let's say some
- 6:43Speaker 1: miraculous way God made you rich and famous. Next Friday,
- 6:50Speaker 1: you rich and you famous? Next Friday? Can I share
- 6:53Speaker 1: something with you? This is not going to last for you.
- 6:56Speaker 1: You know why because you have not done the things
- 6:59Speaker 1: next Sinceary, you have not done the things that you
- 7:04Speaker 1: have to do in order to do the things you want.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So now you're rich and famous. How you gonna know
- 7:11Speaker 1: how to budget money? How are you gonna know how
- 7:15Speaker 1: to get up and keep clawing towards the top when
- 7:17Speaker 1: you fall off your pedestal? See, it's so many things
- 7:22Speaker 1: you got to know about something, and you think because
- 7:25Speaker 1: it's what you want right now, it's supposed to happen
- 7:27Speaker 1: just now. It's a process when you ask God for something.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Please know God know the process. He knows the necessary
- 7:35Speaker 1: steps to take you through. Don't lose your patience with
- 7:38Speaker 1: God because your dreams ain't coming true right now? Man?
- 7:44Speaker 1: You know you know I think the best way y'all
- 7:46Speaker 1: is for me. I just use myself as an example.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I really do understand why God has given me the
- 7:52Speaker 1: life he's giving me so far. I understand it being
- 7:55Speaker 1: homeless part. Now I get the not being successful when
- 7:59Speaker 1: I want it too. Now I get it. I got
- 8:01Speaker 1: the delayed entry into the field of choice for myself.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I got it now. I've been wanting to be on
- 8:07Speaker 1: TV and a little comedian since I was nine years old.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But guess what, I didn't get there until I was
- 8:12Speaker 1: twenty eight. But see I didn't get it. Then I
- 8:16Speaker 1: was mad at God. You know what, I won't np
- 8:19Speaker 1: sending them in here. I got exactly what you want,
- 8:21Speaker 1: But I got this process. I want you to go
- 8:23Speaker 1: through to get here too, because see I'm fit to
- 8:26Speaker 1: take you somewhere. You don't know nothing, but one day
- 8:28Speaker 1: you're gonna have a radio show with You're a little
- 8:30Speaker 1: stupid behind. You don't know this yet. I'm gonna bless
- 8:32Speaker 1: you with a radio show. You don't even know it.
- 8:35Speaker 1: That's why I say every morning, Steve Harvey got a
- 8:37Speaker 1: radio show because see I didn't. I didn't see this
- 8:40Speaker 1: one coming. But see God had a plan for me.
- 8:42Speaker 1: It was in the blueprint of my life. So God said,
- 8:44Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna make your life
- 8:46Speaker 1: a little rough for you. I'm gonna toss you up
- 8:49Speaker 1: a little bit. I'm I'm gonna let you make some
- 8:52Speaker 1: of these stupid decisions you wanna make it, I'm gonna
- 8:54Speaker 1: make you learn from them. I'm I'm I'm gonna let
- 8:57Speaker 1: you be homeless for a little while. I'm I'm gonna
- 9:00Speaker 1: let you not get into your field of choice until
- 9:02Speaker 1: you're twenty eight. I'm gonna have people talking about if
- 9:05Speaker 1: we had only seen him when he was younger. I
- 9:07Speaker 1: ain't gonna let you get your first can your name
- 9:09Speaker 1: till your thirty eight. I'm gonna make you go through
- 9:12Speaker 1: some things because one day I'm gonna put a microphone
- 9:15Speaker 1: in front of your mouth, and I want you to
- 9:17Speaker 1: honor me. I want you to talk about me. I
- 9:20Speaker 1: want you to tell people what I bought you through.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I want you to give people inspirational moments where they
- 9:25Speaker 1: can see that your life was jacked up for a
- 9:27Speaker 1: minute and I turned your life around for you. That's
- 9:30Speaker 1: God dealing with me. See. So now I finally understand
- 9:35Speaker 1: why I went through the life I went through, so
- 9:37Speaker 1: I can have something to say. See, I ain't over
- 9:40Speaker 1: here telling you about what I think a happened. I'm
- 9:42Speaker 1: telling you what I know can happen. That God does
- 9:46Speaker 1: make dreams come true, but sometime it take a minute.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Sometimes You're gonna have to do some things you don't
- 9:51Speaker 1: want to do in order to do what you want
- 9:54Speaker 1: to do. All right, all that you I'm gonna be
- 9:56Speaker 1: tripping a day. You're listening. Morning ladies and gentlemen, bear
- 10:05Speaker 1: with me. This is the beginning of the Steve Harvey

- 10:47Speaker 1: what it is. Nephew Tommy, you know what time it is?
- 10:52Speaker 1: Time to give it? Pit of people. In the words
- 10:55Speaker 1: of my dear friend, the living legend Biggie Weed, tell
- 11:02Speaker 1: they mouth out visual. It's visual. Everybody good, Yes, good happening.
- 11:22Speaker 1: You know what beat from yoga? Oh? Every day? I
- 11:29Speaker 1: just I can't do none of them poses. Man, I
- 11:34Speaker 1: just being there for ninety minutes suffering. And you know
- 11:39Speaker 1: what the instructor tells me, if you just show up
- 11:42Speaker 1: and breathe show up and breathe. You know, I can
- 11:47Speaker 1: do a couple of the poses a little bit. That's good,
- 11:51Speaker 1: just a cut, the hardest one, all of them. But
- 11:56Speaker 1: don't you think if you went more offensive? Well that's
- 11:59Speaker 1: what they said, they say, if they say if I
- 12:01Speaker 1: go all the time to yoga, that you'll be able
- 12:05Speaker 1: to do all of this in a year. I can't
- 12:08Speaker 1: see it stretching. You don't see. Yeah, you don't know.
- 12:14Speaker 1: It's a couple of things I know I'll never do.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I didn't tell her that, but I can tell you
- 12:19Speaker 1: right now there's nothing that's a couple of these moves
- 12:22Speaker 1: in beat from yoga that I'll never ever. I don't
- 12:25Speaker 1: even want to because, yeah, well why would I do that.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out why I would sit between
- 12:33Speaker 1: my legs with my butt on the floor and then
- 12:36Speaker 1: laid my head back on the floor for what. Just yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 1: the same reason you're doing all the other poses. It's
- 12:46Speaker 1: all right, right, it's beyond the stretch. That ain't what
- 12:50Speaker 1: to see. It ain't stretched stretching. That touch your toes,
- 13:02Speaker 1: that's stretching. This that they're doing in beak room. Beyond
- 13:07Speaker 1: that ain't stretching. That's like you you're this erupturing and tearing,
- 13:12Speaker 1: removing displacement. You were pretzel? Do you wave pass? I
- 13:18Speaker 1: don't even understand. I told him maybe one time. I said, look,
- 13:21Speaker 1: I can't do all this. I need I need my
- 13:23Speaker 1: rectum for God. All right, thank God. Times up coming up.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Just keep tearing this thing every time I come in here. Yeah,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I need mine for other things coming up in thirty
- 13:37Speaker 1: two minutes after the hour at the ClOH Chief Love Officer.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 13:47Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour. Guys, CNN's
- 13:50Speaker 1: Don Lemon. Don Lemon will be our very special guest,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and we cannot wait for Don to join us. He
- 13:57Speaker 1: has a lot to say, But right now it's time
- 14:00Speaker 1: to ask the CLO Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey. See
- 14:05Speaker 1: if this one is from Dana in the Bronx. Dana says,
- 14:08Speaker 1: I'm forty two and I just let my mother move
- 14:10Speaker 1: in with me, and it's already a problem. She drinks
- 14:13Speaker 1: a lot and has had men come by my house
- 14:16Speaker 1: all hours of the night to drink with her. One
- 14:19Speaker 1: of her visitors was coming out of my guest bathroom
- 14:21Speaker 1: the other day and I was still in my nightgown.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The guy propositioned me, and I was furious. I told
- 14:27Speaker 1: my mother she is not allowed to have men in
- 14:30Speaker 1: my home anymore. She said, I can't tell her what
- 14:32Speaker 1: to do? Well, how do I respectfully get my mother
- 14:36Speaker 1: in line while she's in my home? See it? Well,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you know, see you can't tell her what to do
- 14:45Speaker 1: in light, but you can have rules in your house
- 14:50Speaker 1: and respect goes both ways. You're old enough. Now, how
- 14:54Speaker 1: does she say forty two? Forty two? Who's forty two?
- 14:58Speaker 1: The daughter? The daughter two? And she just let her
- 15:01Speaker 1: mom move in? Well, her mama got to go by
- 15:04Speaker 1: the rules or else, Mamma, where you want to stay?
- 15:08Speaker 1: But these men coming to me proper proposition to me
- 15:10Speaker 1: in my own house, that's sounding acceptable. I can't be
- 15:13Speaker 1: in my home and be uncomfortable. You can go out
- 15:15Speaker 1: with me and just go meet them at to tavern
- 15:17Speaker 1: because that's what they are on the tavern doing tavern.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I love tavern. Yeah, where tavern shout? Always have some
- 15:33Speaker 1: nice mit is. Yeah, Well, you can tell she's a
- 15:36Speaker 1: nice woman because she wants to know how to do
- 15:38Speaker 1: it respectfully. Meanwhile, you have to establish us, yeah, and
- 15:44Speaker 1: she can you can't tell her what to do, but
- 15:46Speaker 1: you can. You can decide what happens in your house.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You can't tell her not to see me, but you
- 15:51Speaker 1: can't see them in here though. That's right, right, period,
- 15:54Speaker 1: right to see all right? Uh, you're gonna love this name.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Out of Charlotte Colfax Henry Cold Friends straight out of Cleveland.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Colfax says, my girlfriend and I had a weekend getaway
- 16:10Speaker 1: in neighboring city, and my girlfriend made all of the plans.
- 16:13Speaker 1: She booked the hotel. When we checked in, the girl
- 16:16Speaker 1: at the front desk said welcome back and offered my
- 16:20Speaker 1: girlfriend and I a discounted massage because of her loyalty point.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'm looking sideways at her all weekend. After that? Do
- 16:27Speaker 1: I question her about being a regular at this hotel
- 16:31Speaker 1: or do you think it will come out eventually? Yeah?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Well no, Dog, when you meet people, people have histories,
- 16:39Speaker 1: that's right. Ain't no need a you digging up the history.
- 16:43Speaker 1: So she'd been to the hotel before welcome back? Maybe
- 16:46Speaker 1: she liked the massages down there, Yeah, ain't. She could
- 16:49Speaker 1: have went down there on girls weekends. Ain't nothing to
- 16:51Speaker 1: say she was down there with some dudes, So dog,
- 16:54Speaker 1: what you tripping falls colfax? Now you know he wants
- 16:58Speaker 1: the facts. Now, these is the cold facts. Everybody had
- 17:03Speaker 1: a life folded. They met you and like you had
- 17:06Speaker 1: one too. Yeah, So don't blow a good thing trying
- 17:10Speaker 1: to dig up dirt, because whatever you dig up it
- 17:13Speaker 1: ain't really dirt. She didn't know you. I like how
- 17:18Speaker 1: you think. No, man, you can't blame nobody for nothing
- 17:21Speaker 1: that that didn't have nothing to do with you, right
- 17:24Speaker 1: right right. It wouldn't bother you all weekend though, you
- 17:26Speaker 1: wouldn't be Yeah hell yeah, Ok, I like it. Are
- 17:38Speaker 1: you being a hypocrite right now? Yeah? I might have
- 17:41Speaker 1: to be sitting in the car, That's all it is.
- 17:49Speaker 1: She's just like, yeah, man, that's probably all it is.
- 17:51Speaker 1: You know, we don't look still looking crazy, all right?
- 17:55Speaker 1: Moving on a mirror in East Saint Louis says, I'm dating.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm hating a man. This is crazy right here. This
- 18:04Speaker 1: one too. I'm getting a man that is married and
- 18:06Speaker 1: his wife is a lunatic. She's been knowing about us
- 18:09Speaker 1: for a while, so I'm shocked she still cares. I
- 18:12Speaker 1: think she needs to take all of her anger out
- 18:15Speaker 1: on her husband, because he seeks me out, not the
- 18:17Speaker 1: other way around. I've had to get a restraining order
- 18:21Speaker 1: on her, and I had to put cameras on the
- 18:23Speaker 1: front of my house because I'm sure she was the
- 18:26Speaker 1: one that tried to slash my tires once. I've asked
- 18:29Speaker 1: her nicely not to bother me. Would I be wrong
- 18:32Speaker 1: to beat her ass one good time? I'm surprised she
- 18:37Speaker 1: ain't beach a s s one good time? PLU in
- 18:41Speaker 1: the wrong? You're sleeping with this woman's husband. You're talking
- 18:46Speaker 1: about he the one that seeks me out. He ain't
- 18:48Speaker 1: got to look too hard, right, You're right, you're responding.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You know what I mean? He seeks me out? Or well,
- 18:56Speaker 1: you know you could put a stop to that, right,
- 18:59Speaker 1: he seeks you because you're wanting to be sought after,
- 19:05Speaker 1: not a woman, know about y'all. She might be trying
- 19:07Speaker 1: to fight for her husband, and yeah she was one.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Tryslit your tie? That ain't all. Should I beat her for? What?
- 19:16Speaker 1: Do you know? The prison time you could do for that?
- 19:20Speaker 1: You sleeping with a woman's husband, And now you won't
- 19:25Speaker 1: do something to her because she over there to get
- 19:27Speaker 1: her husband. That ain't just gonna work in the quarter
- 19:30Speaker 1: of law. Wait a minute. Has she asked you leave
- 19:34Speaker 1: her husband alone? Nicely? How you ask me nicely? Right?
- 19:43Speaker 1: All right? This is from Johnson and Omaha. Johnson says,
- 19:47Speaker 1: my kids and I moved to a different city after
- 19:49Speaker 1: I divorced their mom. I got full custody and unmoved
- 19:53Speaker 1: so I would uh that I would have my family
- 19:55Speaker 1: support raising them. My toxic ex wife has decided to
- 19:59Speaker 1: move closer to to us, and I don't think she's
- 20:01Speaker 1: fit enough to have visitation with our children. I don't
- 20:04Speaker 1: want to say what's wrong with her, but she has
- 20:06Speaker 1: some bad habits and our children are all under ten
- 20:09Speaker 1: years old. I can't stop her from moving closer, but
- 20:12Speaker 1: I can, But can I stop her from seeing them
- 20:14Speaker 1: at all? Will this impact my kids later? I don't
- 20:18Speaker 1: know them because I'm not aware of the problem, but
- 20:22Speaker 1: I do know that in a divorce, they rarely take
- 20:27Speaker 1: a child away from a mother unless she's unfit. They
- 20:31Speaker 1: don't normally do that. Women got DIBs on them kids, man,
- 20:36Speaker 1: and so I don't know what she did that caused
- 20:39Speaker 1: the court to allow you to have full custody of them.
- 20:42Speaker 1: But if they did that, you can get some You
- 20:45Speaker 1: don't deny them visitation but you can get supervised visitations.
- 20:50Speaker 1: That's for shell all right, thank you, Celo and brilliant
- 20:55Speaker 1: as usual. Coming up next, the nephew would run that
- 20:57Speaker 1: prank back right after this. You're listening. Coming up at
- 21:04Speaker 1: the top of the hour, CNN, Don Lemon will be

- 26:45Speaker 1: real stupid. Let me figure out who I'm gonna do
- 26:49Speaker 1: it on. That's all I do it. Process ain't hard time.
- 26:56Speaker 1: See like this, you have to you know what You're
- 26:58Speaker 1: supposed to capitalize on him? Like right now. It's wrong,
- 27:02Speaker 1: it's wrong, but right now, yeah, it is a perfect
- 27:07Speaker 1: time for me to prank Kirk Franklin. I mean it

- 27:40Speaker 1: the father of a young son. Yeah, man, I know
- 27:45Speaker 1: what you're going through. I stomped one of my sons. Okay, Steve,
- 27:48Speaker 1: you don't no, no, you think that cussin was bad.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You disrespect me and I and I and I see
- 27:56Speaker 1: you that you can't with my ass. I bet you
- 28:00Speaker 1: that I can tell you my sons can't because they
- 28:03Speaker 1: don't even know how to fight. They ain't even been anyone.
- 28:05Speaker 1: They don't even know already hurt because Stone and then
- 28:11Speaker 1: Place stop at the same time. You know what I'm saying,
- 28:14Speaker 1: go ahead and do it. And I don't know, but
- 28:20Speaker 1: the boy's gonna have to lay down pretty flat though,
- 28:22Speaker 1: for Kurt to be able to stomp somebody on TikTok
- 28:29Speaker 1: due the revolution. Oh my goodness, bru dog. You know
- 28:38Speaker 1: what my father had said to me, by man dog,
- 28:43Speaker 1: what Kirk said. I was sitting I'm trying to figure
- 28:45Speaker 1: out what what's wrong? Why the dog man? My father? Who?
- 28:53Speaker 1: And then what he did after that? My father hit
- 28:57Speaker 1: me in the thoat so hard one time. I'm talking
- 29:01Speaker 1: about in the thoat. Yeah, yeah, no, No, when you
- 29:07Speaker 1: get hit in it, you don't need that all all right,
- 29:13Speaker 1: we gotta get out of here. Guys were coming up
- 29:15Speaker 1: at the top of the hour as promise CNNs don
- 29:18Speaker 1: lemon right after this you're listening show. Everybody has promise
- 29:26Speaker 1: joining us this morning is our friend. He's an esteemed
- 29:30Speaker 1: Emmy Award winning journalist. He's the host of CNNs Tonight
- 29:35Speaker 1: that bears his name, comes on weeknights at ten pm
- 29:38Speaker 1: easton He recently launched a new podcast. It's called Silence
- 29:43Speaker 1: Is Not an Option on CNN Audio. In addition to
- 29:47Speaker 1: all of that, my friend has a new book and
- 29:51Speaker 1: the title of it is This is the Fire. What
- 29:56Speaker 1: I Say to my friends about racism. Old boy. He's
- 30:00Speaker 1: joining us today to talk about the book and a
- 30:03Speaker 1: host of other subjects. Ladies and gentlemen, The one and
- 30:06Speaker 1: only mister Don Lemony. Welcome by Don. How you doing man,
- 30:15Speaker 1: I'm doing well. And look, you know I'm working from home.
- 30:17Speaker 1: As soon as you introduced me, the dogs start barking.
- 30:23Speaker 1: They heard it. They know who I am. Yeah, the
- 30:28Speaker 1: greatest introducer is bringing out and Danny hey man, the
- 30:36Speaker 1: dogs for the great introduction. And you know the book.
- 30:39Speaker 1: His name is This is the Fire. It's after James Baldwin,
- 30:42Speaker 1: the Fire next time. And so now we are in
- 30:45Speaker 1: the fire, after the Capital Insurrection, after George Floyd. This
- 30:49Speaker 1: is the Fire right now, you know, man, that's what
- 30:52Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about this because you opened the book
- 30:56Speaker 1: with the heartfelt letter to your young nephew what's his name, Trusha, Trisha, Yeah, Trisha,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and you're trying to help him make sense of all
- 31:04Speaker 1: the racial unrest in twenty twenty, tell us about that.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Don Well, you know, James Bowan opened his book The
- 31:11Speaker 1: Fire Next Time with a letter to his nephew, and
- 31:13Speaker 1: it was one hundred years after the Emancipation Proclamation and
- 31:16Speaker 1: he said, you know, we're celebrating this one hundred years
- 31:18Speaker 1: too soon. And so this is I started writing the book. Well,
- 31:21Speaker 1: let me back up just for a second. You know,
- 31:23Speaker 1: during the Trump administration, if you're in the news and
- 31:25Speaker 1: the President talks about your tweets about you, everybody wanted
- 31:28Speaker 1: you to write the book. If you're reporting on the
- 31:30Speaker 1: Trump administration, right between sixteen and twenty, everybody and their
- 31:34Speaker 1: mama was asking me to write a book. And I said, no,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I don't want to write a political book. I don't
- 31:38Speaker 1: want to be connected to this administration. And then Steve
- 31:42Speaker 1: George Floyd happened and I was at home in quarantine.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I couldn't go to my family, I couldn't talk to them. Yeah,
- 31:50Speaker 1: and I started by saying to my nephew that I
- 31:53Speaker 1: was worried. I said, Trishade, I saw a man die
- 31:56Speaker 1: to day and he called out to his mama and
- 31:58Speaker 1: cried for his mama and nephew, he's fourteen. He's thirteen then,
- 32:03Speaker 1: and you know, and I was worried about the world
- 32:06Speaker 1: that he was about to inherit, that those those young
- 32:09Speaker 1: people are going to inherit this world that we have
- 32:11Speaker 1: set up and created for them. And this was my
- 32:14Speaker 1: way of showing love to him. And I said, if
- 32:17Speaker 1: James Balwin could write a letter to his nephew and
- 32:19Speaker 1: start off a book, that's how I want to start
- 32:21Speaker 1: off my book to It's actually my great nephew. And
- 32:24Speaker 1: I helped to raise his mom and you know his
- 32:28Speaker 1: aunts and which are my nieces, and they're growing women
- 32:31Speaker 1: now they're doing great in the world. But he needed
- 32:34Speaker 1: to know that I love him and that there were
- 32:36Speaker 1: people like me. Even though we may not have done
- 32:37Speaker 1: a perfect with Seve, I think you'll admit that we tried.
- 32:40Speaker 1: And I was trying to tell him he hits my
- 32:42Speaker 1: support and whatever he needed to carry on this world
- 32:45Speaker 1: a better way. And that's what I was. That's why
- 32:47Speaker 1: I did it. You know that that's an interesting take
- 32:50Speaker 1: down because I think that so many people don't understand
- 32:55Speaker 1: that as African Americans, the burden that were battle with
- 33:01Speaker 1: in terms of helping to raise our younger generation, our
- 33:04Speaker 1: children our nephews, our young people. I don't think they
- 33:07Speaker 1: understand what all comes with that, because, like you said,
- 33:13Speaker 1: you were home doing COVID when George Floyd died. You
- 33:17Speaker 1: you have you, you all, you donate a chapter to this.
- 33:21Speaker 1: What were your thoughts man, when you watch this on
- 33:24Speaker 1: film because you had to cover it? Oh my godness,
- 33:27Speaker 1: I mean, I mean over and over and over. What
- 33:28Speaker 1: were your thoughts when you when you watch the video?
- 33:32Speaker 1: What was Don Lemon thinking? It was Steve? It was
- 33:36Speaker 1: the weirdest out of body experience that I can't It
- 33:40Speaker 1: was like it was like me, watch me reporting, but
- 33:44Speaker 1: watching me watch somebody else reporting. And let me tell
- 33:49Speaker 1: you why I say that. First of all, it enraged me.
- 33:52Speaker 1: It was as a person of color, It just it
- 33:55Speaker 1: just honestly pissed me off. You guys can beat me
- 33:57Speaker 1: and do whatever you want, but honestly, I was so
- 34:00Speaker 1: angry at the administration. First of all, they were gassed
- 34:04Speaker 1: and people would you remember they did that in front
- 34:06Speaker 1: of the White House. And then they were pretending that
- 34:09Speaker 1: it was somehow the people who were oppressed, that it
- 34:11Speaker 1: was George Floyd's fault, of the protester's fault. About what
- 34:15Speaker 1: was happening in the country. They were turning the tables.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And then there was one night where I happened not
- 34:22Speaker 1: to go into the city into the CNN because I
- 34:24Speaker 1: like to go, especially when we have big stories like this.
- 34:27Speaker 1: I like to go in where the company has a
- 34:29Speaker 1: setup where you know the line's not going to go down,
- 34:32Speaker 1: the camera's not going to go down, the audiences are
- 34:34Speaker 1: not going to go out. And so but this one night,
- 34:38Speaker 1: all hell broke loose and my boss said, get on
- 34:40Speaker 1: the air, and I got on. I was at home
- 34:42Speaker 1: speed reporting on fires on the West Coast, in Chicago,
- 34:47Speaker 1: in New York, in LA in Washington, DC, and I'm
- 34:51Speaker 1: crying out. I'm like I felt like I was and
- 34:54Speaker 1: I felt like I was the only person left on earth,
- 34:57Speaker 1: and I'm trying to explain to every whoever's left, whoever's watching,
- 35:02Speaker 1: look at what's happening. And basically I was saying, help, help,
- 35:05Speaker 1: and I said some dumb thing that I regret that
- 35:07Speaker 1: I said because I was, and I was. I was
- 35:11Speaker 1: crying out for people that I know, who I know
- 35:14Speaker 1: had influenced to help because I felt like I was
- 35:17Speaker 1: a man on an island all by myself, and I
- 35:20Speaker 1: was saying, look at what's happening to America, y'all, please please,
- 35:24Speaker 1: please do something. So I felt like I was the
- 35:26Speaker 1: only one doing it. Um And because I was the
- 35:29Speaker 1: only one on the air at the time. You know,
- 35:32Speaker 1: that's interesting, man, because I often wondered how you felt,
- 35:39Speaker 1: because I understood where you were coming from when you
- 35:42Speaker 1: were calling people out, because man, you just wanted those
- 35:45Speaker 1: of us who had a voice to raise up and
- 35:48Speaker 1: use it. Because what you had been watching happening was
- 35:51Speaker 1: like it was almost the rebirth of the civil rights movement.
- 35:55Speaker 1: What happened the Red Matter? Oh it's crazy. Hey, hang
- 35:59Speaker 1: on right there, gonna writ there, We're gonna come back.
- 36:01Speaker 1: We got more with Don Lemon right after this. We
- 36:03Speaker 1: got a lot to talk about with Don right after this.
- 36:06Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, everybody, We're back. We're back with
- 36:12Speaker 1: Don Lemon from CNN. He's got a new book out
- 36:14Speaker 1: called This is the Fire and Uh. It's a compelling book.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Uh and and and it's all about relationships, race relations
- 36:23Speaker 1: in this country and some of his takes on it.
- 36:25Speaker 1: And when we left, we were talking about the George
- 36:27Speaker 1: Floyd incident. And you've dedicated a chapter in this book
- 36:32Speaker 1: when you what what did you want this chapter to
- 36:35Speaker 1: speak to to your audience who read? Who reads the book?
- 36:38Speaker 1: I wanted it to speak to just how dire the
- 36:43Speaker 1: situation is when it comes to what when when when
- 36:47Speaker 1: people speak about black lives mattering? We know what Black
- 36:50Speaker 1: lives matter means, and we know what the people who
- 36:52Speaker 1: try to denegrate and downgrade black lives matter. We know
- 36:56Speaker 1: what they mean, and we know that they don't care
- 36:58Speaker 1: about our about our lives, and quite frankly, the entire book, look,
- 37:04Speaker 1: let's see, this book is so honest. I don't know
- 37:06Speaker 1: if I'm going to get in trouble about it, but
- 37:09Speaker 1: I'm honest with what we all need to do, and
- 37:11Speaker 1: especially white people need to do. If we want to
- 37:14Speaker 1: fix this problem, you got to do the work. You
- 37:16Speaker 1: can't say when something like George Floyd happens. The reason
- 37:19Speaker 1: that was one of the reasons I wrote the books.
- 37:21Speaker 1: So many people calling me things, what do I do?
- 37:22Speaker 1: I feel like I left by black friends down. I
- 37:24Speaker 1: didn't know that this happened, right, And I'm sure you
- 37:26Speaker 1: had some of that too with people you know who
- 37:28Speaker 1: are of a different ethnicity. And so that's why I
- 37:30Speaker 1: wrote the book. But then when you tell them what
- 37:32Speaker 1: they need to do, they say, well that's hard. I
- 37:33Speaker 1: don't know, but it's practical. That means what they don't
- 37:36Speaker 1: want to do the work. So you have to do
- 37:37Speaker 1: the work. And guess what, You got to know a
- 37:40Speaker 1: black person. You gotta know a Hispanic person. You got
- 37:43Speaker 1: to know a person of color. You have a type
- 37:44Speaker 1: of relationship with someone if you're if you truly want
- 37:47Speaker 1: to make the saint, you can't just call your one
- 37:49Speaker 1: black friend or someone you're one black coworker when something
- 37:53Speaker 1: like this goes down and expect like, oh okay, and
- 37:56Speaker 1: then donate some money. That's not what it's about, right,
- 38:00Speaker 1: That's why I'm dedicated. You gotta be real. Let's be real.
- 38:03Speaker 1: We got to know each other and talk to each
- 38:05Speaker 1: other and have relationships with each other. See, that's the
- 38:07Speaker 1: perfect way to put it down, because you cannot sit
- 38:11Speaker 1: around each other as non African Americans and talk about
- 38:16Speaker 1: a problem when you don't know all the idio secrecies
- 38:20Speaker 1: of the problem. It's the same thing that we keep
- 38:23Speaker 1: running into over and over. We have the wrong people
- 38:27Speaker 1: trying to define the word racism, and they think if
- 38:30Speaker 1: they just don't use the end word that they're not
- 38:33Speaker 1: a racist. They don't even know the understuff. I was
- 38:36Speaker 1: watching a woman interview Tony Morrison online the other day
- 38:40Speaker 1: and she asked, Tony Morrison, you write so eloquently, will
- 38:44Speaker 1: you ever write stories about whites? And she says, I do,
- 38:49Speaker 1: but you don't know how inherently racist that statement is
- 38:53Speaker 1: you just made. And the white lady was sitting there
- 38:56Speaker 1: just bit funnel because she didn't get it. But why
- 38:59Speaker 1: does Tony moore us and have to write story about
- 39:01Speaker 1: white people? You don't ask a Spielberg or I mean,
- 39:04Speaker 1: you don't ask Spelling or nobody when they're gonna write
- 39:06Speaker 1: some story about some black people. You just take their stories. Hey,
- 39:10Speaker 1: don hang on again, man, we got don lemon I
- 39:13Speaker 1: got some topics when we come back. I want to
- 39:16Speaker 1: get his opinion on what's happening on the Talk. When
- 39:21Speaker 1: we come back, what's going on on the Talk. We'll
- 39:24Speaker 1: be right back. You're listening to everybody. We're back, and
- 39:35Speaker 1: we're keeping him over because we get to talk with
- 39:38Speaker 1: a guy who, first of all, all of us on
- 39:41Speaker 1: the show, Shirley Carler, Tommy Junior, Monica, we're all fans.
- 39:46Speaker 1: You don I mean, bro, we we talk often about
- 39:52Speaker 1: what the hell did Don say? Yeah? Becausis man, we were, well,
- 39:58Speaker 1: all right, what did Don say? Damn? We're everybody else
- 40:00Speaker 1: say because Don got that attitude we need because you know, Don,
- 40:05Speaker 1: The thing about you, man, is you're very authentic. And
- 40:09Speaker 1: the thing that makes you a great reporter is like
- 40:12Speaker 1: it or not, You're gonna say what you feel, and
- 40:15Speaker 1: if it makes you uncomfortable, it's okay. But the thing
- 40:18Speaker 1: about it is you don't lie. So right, well, here
- 40:25Speaker 1: as I as I read if you read The Fire
- 40:27Speaker 1: next time by James Bowing, he talks about people going
- 40:32Speaker 1: to their grave, you know, judging people keeping the status
- 40:37Speaker 1: quo in order not really doing what they want to do.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I don't want to go to my grave and not
- 40:41Speaker 1: get everything out that I need to get out. And look,
- 40:44Speaker 1: you know, Steve, when you're first starting out and you
- 40:46Speaker 1: first get a position, you gotta be careful like, okay,
- 40:48Speaker 1: I gotta do this, and I don't know, I don't
- 40:49Speaker 1: want to think anybody else. And then once you get
- 40:51Speaker 1: there and you established that you can do it and
- 40:54Speaker 1: you're successful, then that's my mom that you can show
- 40:57Speaker 1: your ad. So not my hand, but what I'm doing
- 41:03Speaker 1: I'm comfortable enough, and I know that I have a platform,
- 41:05Speaker 1: and I'm in a position where I can speak with authority.
- 41:09Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying, and I and I represent
- 41:13Speaker 1: my people. And as you said so eloquently, that people
- 41:17Speaker 1: are speaking about race and racism and they had no
- 41:20Speaker 1: idea what it is. People are becoming more offended about
- 41:24Speaker 1: the possibility of someone thinking they may have a racial
- 41:27Speaker 1: blind spot of their racist or their bias than the
- 41:30Speaker 1: actual act itself. And what does that say? That says
- 41:34Speaker 1: you're entitled, That says that you have a privileged where
- 41:37Speaker 1: you can think, I don't want anybody to call me racist,
- 41:40Speaker 1: and therefore that I don't want anybody to call me
- 41:43Speaker 1: racist supersede the actual racism, and then you make it
- 41:47Speaker 1: all about you and you're grieving. So that so we're
- 41:52Speaker 1: talking about the talk right now, Yes, because we talk
- 42:00Speaker 1: to each other via text about this of how we
- 42:03Speaker 1: really felt. Now the radio version and the CNN version
- 42:08Speaker 1: of how we really feel is we're going to share
- 42:12Speaker 1: that with you now. When you saw what transpired on
- 42:15Speaker 1: the talk, what were your initial thoughts? My initial thoughts was, Wow,
- 42:23Speaker 1: there's going to be repercussions and ramifications for this that
- 42:27Speaker 1: beyond what people are thinking right now, and nobody knew.
- 42:29Speaker 1: And if you've ever worked in the world of television,
- 42:33Speaker 1: where you are when you get to share your opinion,
- 42:35Speaker 1: there's a difference between sharing your opinion and insulting someone
- 42:40Speaker 1: you work with and calling someone really outside of their
- 42:47Speaker 1: name without even saying it. So here's what I thought.
- 42:50Speaker 1: The nerve to tell someone when to cry and when
- 42:54Speaker 1: to not. Yes, that's entitlement. That's privilege. You don't get
- 42:58Speaker 1: to do that. The nerve for you to make it
- 43:01Speaker 1: all about you. It's not about you, it's the actual
- 43:04Speaker 1: act of racism. That's entitlement. That's privilege. The nerve of
- 43:09Speaker 1: you to sit there next to a black woman who's
- 43:12Speaker 1: talking to you about racism and discrimination and you try
- 43:15Speaker 1: to define the moments for her and what it means
- 43:18Speaker 1: to her. The nerve and then for you to say,
- 43:21Speaker 1: I am not racist. How the hell can I be racist?
- 43:23Speaker 1: And they beat that because I'm an effing whatever, you
- 43:26Speaker 1: know what she said. The nerve of you to sit
- 43:29Speaker 1: there in your entitlement, in your privilege, and be more
- 43:32Speaker 1: uncomfortable and more aggrieved about someone actually thinking you're having
- 43:36Speaker 1: a racial blind spot and you are sitting there on
- 43:38Speaker 1: national television and proving the point that you do come
- 43:46Speaker 1: so much more eloquent and is really imagine if that
- 43:56Speaker 1: was Sheryl Steve, I'm sorry, I don't mean, I know
- 43:58Speaker 1: it's your show. Can you imagine if that was Cheryl?
- 44:00Speaker 1: Sure would not have laughted through the commercial break if
- 44:02Speaker 1: she did that as the black woman on Bro. You
- 44:08Speaker 1: you ain't never lied. Listen, hang on, Don, We got
- 44:10Speaker 1: Don Lemon. This has a big great He's got a
- 44:15Speaker 1: new book out everybody, and it's called This Is the Fire,
- 44:19Speaker 1: and we want everybody to pick up a copy. It's
- 44:21Speaker 1: gonna be great. We'll be right back with more Don
- 44:23Speaker 1: Lemon right after this. You're listening, I went back everybody
- 44:30Speaker 1: with Steve Harvey Morning Show. A special guest this morning
- 44:33Speaker 1: is Don Lemon from CNN oh Man, and we are
- 44:36Speaker 1: getting into it. The book everybody is called This is
- 44:40Speaker 1: the Fire. Now listen to me, Steve Harvey Nation. Here's
- 44:44Speaker 1: the deal. We make hits. We sent a lot of
- 44:48Speaker 1: stuff to Number one. This brother right here has been
- 44:54Speaker 1: on the front line for us for years now. He
- 44:58Speaker 1: has taken chances, he has made statement, he has been angry.
- 45:03Speaker 1: When it is time to be angry, but most importantly
- 45:06Speaker 1: he has been authentic and truthful. That's all this book is.
- 45:11Speaker 1: So what we're gonna do is we're gonna We're gonna
- 45:13Speaker 1: buy it on Kindle, We're gonna buy it on Amazon.
- 45:17Speaker 1: We're gonna go to bookstores. We're gonna run it up
- 45:19Speaker 1: charge best seller lists. Number one, less Go Nation. This
- 45:25Speaker 1: is the Fire by Don Lemon Black Lives Better. We're
- 45:29Speaker 1: gonna spend money. This this is how we do each other. Now. See,
- 45:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna treat you like an artist that come in
- 45:34Speaker 1: with a new song on my show. We'd have made
- 45:37Speaker 1: some hits on this show. Don oh, we got nine
- 45:40Speaker 1: million listeners. I'm talking to all of them, and a
- 45:44Speaker 1: lot of avid readers too. So that's it. Hey, we
- 45:47Speaker 1: were talking before a lot of stuff than what the
- 45:54Speaker 1: gods is under this much stare. Look, I'm telling you,
- 45:58Speaker 1: I'm keeping family feud on the air. My TV stays
- 46:01Speaker 1: on the fans. I'm like, oh, that was season that. No,
- 46:05Speaker 1: that's a couple of seasons ago. That suit. Now this
- 46:07Speaker 1: is a modern season right here. Yeah, I've seen this
- 46:10Speaker 1: family before. Yeah, anyway, all right, Yeah, you're watching the
- 46:15Speaker 1: evolution of Steve Harvey's wardrobe. I looked back at the
- 46:20Speaker 1: first season. I go, sus was pretty big. Hey, listen,
- 46:27Speaker 1: we were talking about the Sheryl Underwood incident on on
- 46:32Speaker 1: the Talk. The thing that Uh and we both talked
- 46:36Speaker 1: about this dog was how Sheryl handle it was was
- 46:40Speaker 1: sheer grace and like you said in your text to me,
- 46:44Speaker 1: she handled it like a queen. I was really disturbed
- 46:49Speaker 1: because I don't like it when people become a victim.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I'm the one that should be crying. Why why why
- 46:57Speaker 1: should you be crying? First of all, this ain't about you,
- 47:00Speaker 1: just about podcasts, Pierce Mellisson. Now we'd have said this now,
- 47:03Speaker 1: I said this over and over, this about piss market.
- 47:06Speaker 1: This ain't about nobody else. This is what he said.
- 47:10Speaker 1: And you know what amazes me about this whole situation,
- 47:14Speaker 1: don If Megan Markle was not black, we're not even
- 47:19Speaker 1: having this discussion at all about the baby or nothing.
- 47:23Speaker 1: The only reason we're having this discussion is because this
- 47:28Speaker 1: woman is black. This is it, now, How to have
- 47:33Speaker 1: that ain't racist? It's the only factor involved him. Well,
- 47:39Speaker 1: and it's also because you're doubting somebody else's story, Steve,
- 47:42Speaker 1: That's what it's about doubting someone else's story. Now, I
- 47:46Speaker 1: always I hate to make this comparison, but it's a real,
- 47:48Speaker 1: true comparison of that. Think it's fair anytime if someone
- 47:51Speaker 1: says that someone felt uncomfortable in the workplace because I
- 47:55Speaker 1: was a woman, that this man the first What are
- 47:58Speaker 1: people's reactions. It's always, oh my gosh, we should listen
- 48:01Speaker 1: to this, let's figure out understand how these individuals feel.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah blah. But for some reason, when
- 48:07Speaker 1: it's racism, there's always a different reaction and a doubt. Well,
- 48:12Speaker 1: I can't believe that that would happen, and of course
- 48:14Speaker 1: this person can't be that, and I can't be that
- 48:17Speaker 1: way because I've lived on this earth this many years
- 48:20Speaker 1: and I've never no one has ever called me that. Well,
- 48:22Speaker 1: maybe you've never had to deal with it. That's what
- 48:23Speaker 1: privilege is. If you have never had to deal with something, right,
- 48:28Speaker 1: then it does not exist for you. That is why
- 48:32Speaker 1: that's why the term privilege came about, because you have
- 48:36Speaker 1: the privilege of not having to think about it or
- 48:39Speaker 1: worry about it because it doesn't exist for you. It
- 48:42Speaker 1: doesn't happen to you. So I think that we should
- 48:47Speaker 1: the way that we I always say when we have
- 48:49Speaker 1: these allegations of impropriety in the workplace that we should
- 48:53Speaker 1: take everyone seriously and it should be investigated. The same
- 48:57Speaker 1: thing for issues of race. So as much as women
- 49:01Speaker 1: have had their meed to moments, it's time for black
- 49:04Speaker 1: folks to have our us two moments, because discrimination in
- 49:09Speaker 1: the workplace can be just as detrimental as harassment in
- 49:13Speaker 1: the workplace, especially if you have something that that hands
- 49:17Speaker 1: out in the workplace, maybe you and the boss get along.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm not going to try to govern
- 49:20Speaker 1: human behaviors, but racism never works out for any of
- 49:23Speaker 1: the victims. Ever. You don't get a job because your
- 49:27Speaker 1: boss is racist. You don't get a promotion because your
- 49:30Speaker 1: boss is racist. What it causes you is to It
- 49:34Speaker 1: causes paranoia, causes you to doubt yourself. It causes you
- 49:37Speaker 1: to have make less money to provide for your family,
- 49:41Speaker 1: less to move around to different jobs instead of staying
- 49:44Speaker 1: at the same job because you're trying to promote. There
- 49:46Speaker 1: are so many things that aspects about discrimination that black
- 49:50Speaker 1: people and marginalize people and people of color feel that
- 49:53Speaker 1: happens to them in the workplace. That have not been explored.
- 49:56Speaker 1: So I say it's time now for a hashtag us
- 49:59Speaker 1: to moment for black people when it comes to workplace discrimination.
- 50:03Speaker 1: And I think that's sure. Underwood is helping to us
- 50:07Speaker 1: show that in and let's pray and stand behind her,
- 50:10Speaker 1: and I hope that she does. Wow, that TV show
- 50:16Speaker 1: that he's good. She thought God had her on a
- 50:22Speaker 1: bigger mission, So this could be it. You know, yeah,
- 50:27Speaker 1: I think you know the name of the book. Everybody
- 50:30Speaker 1: is this is the fire. I mean, we are in
- 50:33Speaker 1: it right now. We are in the fire. And this
- 50:37Speaker 1: is a great time for us because since the civil
- 50:41Speaker 1: rights movement, I haven't seen anything like I've seen over
- 50:44Speaker 1: the past year and a half. I just haven't seen
- 50:47Speaker 1: it in my life. I'm sixty photo suppression, Oh, insurrection
- 50:51Speaker 1: on the Capitol? Who's trying to overturn an election? Why
- 50:59Speaker 1: is it that the Republican Senate who know that this
- 51:04Speaker 1: man has lied about this election being stolen? What do
- 51:08Speaker 1: you think is the reason why they won't just call
- 51:12Speaker 1: it the way it is? Are they that afraid of him?
- 51:16Speaker 1: What is it? Oh? Okay? So I wish I had
- 51:21Speaker 1: the direct quote, but the quote that James Bolland says
- 51:24Speaker 1: is that it doesn't It doesn't require that anyone has
- 51:29Speaker 1: to be evil. What it requires is that you have
- 51:31Speaker 1: to be spineless. And they are spineless, is what it is.
- 51:36Speaker 1: They're afraid to stand up to him number one, because
- 51:39Speaker 1: they're afraid of him, but not so much as they're
- 51:40Speaker 1: afraid of him as they're afraid of losing power. People
- 51:44Speaker 1: are intoxicated with power, and what else are they going
- 51:48Speaker 1: to do. What they're doing is exploiting the division in
- 51:52Speaker 1: this country among the racists and politically, and they know
- 51:55Speaker 1: that they're doing it. And so Trump it was just
- 51:58Speaker 1: the one that came along and allow them to be
- 52:00Speaker 1: able to do this, so now they can do it
- 52:02Speaker 1: with impunity. So he is as I say in the book,
- 52:06Speaker 1: and see if I say it, it burns my tongue
- 52:10Speaker 1: to say this, but Donald Trump was probably the president
- 52:13Speaker 1: we deserved. I know who's the president we deserve because
- 52:15Speaker 1: you know we didn't, we weren't paying attention, but probably
- 52:20Speaker 1: the one we needed. And I hate to say that,
- 52:23Speaker 1: but he exposed the racist in our society and the
- 52:26Speaker 1: racism because we were living in this and this mindset
- 52:29Speaker 1: that oh everything is okay and it's okay. Yeah, we
- 52:31Speaker 1: have racism, so we can deal with it. And then
- 52:34Speaker 1: there were people amongst us. Yes we didn't know, Yeah
- 52:38Speaker 1: we didn't see. And now we know and we see
- 52:43Speaker 1: and now we can deal with all of it. Thank
- 52:47Speaker 1: you for taking me into the doctor's office to diagnose
- 52:50Speaker 1: my cancer. And now I could either have it excite
- 52:55Speaker 1: or I can have the treatment that's going to take
- 52:59Speaker 1: care of that cancer. And that's what we need to
- 53:01Speaker 1: do right now. That's why this is the fire. Wow,
- 53:04Speaker 1: this is the fire, everybody. This is Don Lemon. This
- 53:08Speaker 1: is the book Amazon Kindle, download it, buy it, order it.
- 53:15Speaker 1: I don't care how you do it, but I need
- 53:17Speaker 1: everybody to get a copy of this book. This is
- 53:20Speaker 1: the fire. It's available now by mister Don Lemon. Don.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Man. We love you, brother, We
- 53:27Speaker 1: love you, Thank you so much. Thank you. Wow, we
- 53:31Speaker 1: love Don Lemon. Always knows what to say, when to
- 53:34Speaker 1: say it, and how to say it. Yeah, I'll standing interview, Steve,
- 53:38Speaker 1: I'll stand yes, great jack job. Yeah yeah, all right.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Coming up next Today's Strawberry Letter. We follow that up

- 54:11Speaker 1: this one right here, right now. Buckle up and hold
- 54:16Speaker 1: on tight. We got it for you here. It is
- 54:18Speaker 1: Growberry Letter all right. Subject the Bartender's Big Tip. Dear
- 54:22Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley. I've been married for twelve years, and my
- 54:26Speaker 1: husband and I are in our mid thirties and our
- 54:28Speaker 1: regulars at a local bar by our house. We've met
- 54:32Speaker 1: most We've met a lot of great people at this
- 54:34Speaker 1: bar and look forward to seeing them weekly for karaoke night.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I like the sense of community we have there, and
- 54:41Speaker 1: we can hang out with the other couples we've befriended.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Everything was fine until recently when I found out that
- 54:49Speaker 1: my husband has been sleeping with the twenty two year
- 54:52Speaker 1: old bartender that always serves us. I was devastated and
- 54:58Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it because when we would go there,
- 55:01Speaker 1: she's always serving us with a smile, and she's such
- 55:05Speaker 1: a sweet girl. I never thought about the large tip
- 55:09Speaker 1: my husband left for her weekly. We believe in giving
- 55:12Speaker 1: money for great service, and she was giving him really,
- 55:15Speaker 1: really good service behind my back. The thought of her
- 55:19Speaker 1: having my husband's tiny little private part to herself has
- 55:23Speaker 1: hurt me to no end. She told me that my
- 55:27Speaker 1: husband has given her money for college, helped her with
- 55:30Speaker 1: bills at times, and keeps her hair and nails done.
- 55:34Speaker 1: She told me that she's been to my house, which
- 55:36Speaker 1: is conveniently around the corner from the bar. We dealt
- 55:39Speaker 1: with it in house, and argued and cried. He stopped.
- 55:43Speaker 1: He begged me for forgiveness, and he promised that he
- 55:47Speaker 1: was going to stop seeing her. The problem is he's
- 55:50Speaker 1: still going to the bar once a week for karaoke night,
- 55:53Speaker 1: and even though he sits in another section now, she
- 55:55Speaker 1: still works there. I miss having fun with our regular crew,
- 56:00Speaker 1: and I want to go back at some point, but
- 56:01Speaker 1: I'm not there mentally. I'm still monitoring his phone and
- 56:05Speaker 1: his whereabouts. And he said it's getting old and I
- 56:07Speaker 1: need to trust him. How do I ever trust him again?
- 56:12Speaker 1: I don't know on this one. First of all, I
- 56:16Speaker 1: gotta say I'm really sorry. That's happened to you. It
- 56:19Speaker 1: is nothing worse than someone laughing and cheese and all
- 56:23Speaker 1: up in your face and everything while they're sleeping with
- 56:25Speaker 1: your husband behind your back. And because of that, that's
- 56:28Speaker 1: why the trust is darned near and possible to get
- 56:31Speaker 1: back if at all. I mean, I don't think I could,
- 56:34Speaker 1: because of who it is and how it was done,
- 56:37Speaker 1: and the fact that he's had her all in your house,
- 56:39Speaker 1: probably in your bed, and all of that. Come on
- 56:41Speaker 1: now and excuse me. Did your husband have the nerve
- 56:46Speaker 1: to tell you to stop going through his phone and
- 56:50Speaker 1: checking his whereabouts? Did he have the nerve to say
- 56:52Speaker 1: that was getting old and that you need to trust him? Really, dude,
- 56:58Speaker 1: I don't know how you came, and I just don't
- 57:00Speaker 1: know how you can. He's right back at the scene
- 57:04Speaker 1: of the crime, and the girl still works there. This
- 57:07Speaker 1: is compounding the situation, the trouble that he's in. He's
- 57:12Speaker 1: back there already. How can you trust that? I mean,
- 57:17Speaker 1: that's how it happened in the first place. So who
- 57:21Speaker 1: cares that he's in a different section. What does that
- 57:24Speaker 1: even matter? Why is that even in this letter, I
- 57:27Speaker 1: wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him period.
- 57:30Speaker 1: He's done nothing to try and win back your trust. Okay,
- 57:33Speaker 1: so you guys cried and argued and all of that.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Come on, he doesn't even have sense enough just to start.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Stop going back to the bar. You know he could
- 57:43Speaker 1: have started there. This is crazy. I don't know if
- 57:45Speaker 1: you'll ever trust him again. I know you want to
- 57:48Speaker 1: and you want to go back there, but how can
- 57:50Speaker 1: you ever trust him with all of this going on? Steve?
- 57:54Speaker 1: You know, fellas, I know y'all think, man that I
- 57:58Speaker 1: side up with women a lot of time times, but
- 58:00Speaker 1: I just come from the true standpoint of it. I
- 58:04Speaker 1: just don't like it when men do stuff that's stupid,
- 58:08Speaker 1: and then the rest of us have to baar the
- 58:11Speaker 1: brunt because of your mistake. A lot of us get
- 58:16Speaker 1: distrusted because you stupid. You know, a lot of us
- 58:20Speaker 1: can't get past we deal with women with baggage because
- 58:24Speaker 1: you gave them the baggage. And now here we go again.
- 58:28Speaker 1: I'm just this thirty, this couple been married for twelve years.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Y'all in your mid thirties. Your regulars at a local
- 58:35Speaker 1: bar by our house. It meant a lot of great
- 58:38Speaker 1: people go there. You saying, carryoker, You meet people, hang
- 58:43Speaker 1: out with other couples. Everything was fine, and too recently
- 58:47Speaker 1: you found out that your husband had been sleeping with
- 58:50Speaker 1: a twenty two year old bar tender that always serves y'all.
- 58:54Speaker 1: This lady said. I was devastated. I couldn't believe it
- 58:57Speaker 1: because when we would go there, she's always serving us
- 58:59Speaker 1: with a smile, and she's such a sweet girl. Well,
- 59:02Speaker 1: it's very sweet, sweet as hell, sweet hay, So you
- 59:14Speaker 1: never thought about the large tip your husband left for
- 59:16Speaker 1: her weekly. We believe in giving money for great service,
- 59:20Speaker 1: and she was giving him really, really good service behind
- 59:23Speaker 1: your back. The thought of her having my husband's tiny
- 59:27Speaker 1: little private part to herself has hurt me to no end.
- 59:32Speaker 1: And you decided to get him back by telling everybody
- 59:36Speaker 1: he got a very tiny little private part him. So, well,
- 59:41Speaker 1: you just hurt him back. I guess he had that
- 59:44Speaker 1: coming though. She told me, Now this is why I
- 59:48Speaker 1: don't know hunting here. We doesn't help. She told me
- 59:51Speaker 1: my husband has given her money for college, helped her
- 59:54Speaker 1: with bills, keeps her hair and nails done. She told
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: me that she hadn't been to my house, which is
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: around the corner from the bar. Now we dealt with
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: it in the house and aging and cried. Now who cried?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Was he cried? Because this sound like shan going right now,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: turn yourself. Why is his ass crying? It's terrible. I'm
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: don't I'm confused. How did she tell you all this?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: When we come back, I'm gonna tell you what I think.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I right, Steve, Thank you. We'll have parts coming up
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: at twenty three minutes after the hour, subject the Bartender's
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Big Tip. Will get back into it right after this.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Steve, Come on, let's recap
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: today's Strawberry Letters. Subject the Bartender's Big Tip. Yeah, couple
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: been married twelve years in the mid thirties, been going
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: to a local bar for carryoke and everything. Got friends
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: down there having a good time until she found out
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: that the husbands were sleeping with the twenty two year
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: old bartender. Never suspected anything because the girl is really
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: really sweet, and she's super sweet to your husband because
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: he leaves a big tip. Now, we want to make
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: sure that we got this right. We did say big
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: tip because we couldn't have mistaken it for anything, because
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: you said the thought of her having my husband's tiny
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: little private part to herself. Has hurt me to no end,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: which gets us back to all he had to do.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: All he had was big tips. See, when you got
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: a little small, tiny private parts, you got to tip big.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: You got to have big tips. Of course, you ain't
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: got nothing else. You got to pay for college because
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: you ain't doing nothing. Now you got to get your
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: head done and nails done and all this because ain't
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: nothing else happening. You got to have a big til
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: because your wife got hit in the letter that you
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: got the little bitty private part. Damn. Now everybody down
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: at the ball listening to this letter, No, it's you
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: all right. Now, here's a part that threw me a
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: little bit. She told me, women, this woman who wrote
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: the letter, say that. The girl told her that my
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: husband has given her money for college, helped her with
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: bills a time, keeps her hand nails DOWNE told me
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: she'd been to my house, which is conveniently around the
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: corner from bar. How did that conversation come about? Who?
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: She went out there and approached the girl, and the
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: girl said, yeah, he do this, he do that, he
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: do that. The see dude got them young girls. She
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: all on Instagram, posting her nails all in the story.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: In the story, yeah, every time you go down there,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: get a bag or something. She posted. Now we dealt
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: with it in the house, augur and cried. He begged
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: me for forgiveness, and he promised he was gonna stop
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: seeing her. The problem is he's still going to the
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: bar once a week for karaoke night. And even though
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: he sits in another section now, she still worked there.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I miss having fun without regular crew, and I want
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: to go back at some point, but I'm not there mentally.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: So let me ask you a question. He told you
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: he's sitting in another section because you ain't been back
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: down there, because you can't bring yourself to go back.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: But see, I would go down Now, I go down there,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I'd have myself a good time because you know what
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I do. Well, I don't want to say that because
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: she don't say it. Well, I ain't gonna go down there,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: miss kaoke. I'm gonna tell her boss now, she just
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: slept with my husband. And if you don't get rid
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: of her, me and my friends gonna take karaoke night
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: somewhere else. Okay, Okay, Now you ain't got to worry
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: about your husband going down that seeing her because she
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: gonna be gone. See, lady, you don't you letting everybody
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: live like they used to live except you. She's still working,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: she's still getting tips. He's still going down there, he's
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: still sanging karoke. Everybody goes back to life as usual.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: But you, I don't know how you didn't go to
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: the balls that on the club to say this is
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: gonna stop right here. Either she go or we go.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: But Steve, what Why is the husband still going down there? Why?
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: And I agree with you on that, that's stupidness. The
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: last thing I'm gonna do is go back down. I
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: ain't that good. Do you have to be able to
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: stay away from her? Ain't no man that's strong. Y'all
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: can stop all this? Now, this terrible. She'll never be
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: able to trust him again. He looking over the top
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: of his straw everytime she goes back. What are you doing?
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: You know he's sitting where he can see her. Come on,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: and she can see him every time she come about this?
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: What he do? He's a section photo. He's not at
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: the bar. Norm he got he got his little bear,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: a little ball of bear. Keep putting his tongue down.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: This is really bad and you're right, I don't see
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: how he still what? Yeah? How are you still going
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: down there? Paula? How this work? And she let him?
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: But how you letting him go down there? Go down
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: there again and see what happened? Everybody goes back to
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: life is usual, except her because she's not mentally ready.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: She said, oh, I'll be down I'm saying you can't
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: get this Friday because guess who ain't gonna be there? Right?
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Because she ain't gonna be here. I can tell you
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: this right now. But what's her name? Because she docause
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I told her we're gonna we sang in karaoke Friday.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: If I come in there and your asses in there,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna bush you dead in your damn head that
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: come to work Friday, Dog, I'm not gonna be the
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: only one I'm comfortable in my life. Right. She's too nice.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: I promise you I won't see her no more. Go
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: down to that ball again. But she's down there. How
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: are you not gonna see her? Well, you can go
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: down there, but when he come home, his whole big
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: gonna be on fire soon as you sho hear that?
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: All right, listen, we gotta get out of here. Um
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: post your comments on today Strawberry Letter and Steve Barby
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: FM on Instagram and Facebook. Check out the Strawberry Letter
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: podcast on demand now coming up in forty six minutes
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: after the hour, We're gonna talk to Junior about you know,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: this story about the Norman High School girls basketball teams.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back at forty six minutes after
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the hour. Right after this you're listening to. All right, guys,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: it is time for Junior in sports taught Junior what
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: you got for us today? Please surely, okay, we have
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: to deal with this story. I'm really proud of these
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: girls do. But several players from the Norman High School
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: girls basketball team have broken their silence about the racist
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: game announcer Mark Rowand, who called them the F bomb
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: and the INN word for their decision to take a
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: knee during the national anthem. Take a listen to the
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: young woman speaking out. I took annie the standing against
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: social injustice and racism, and when I first heard the
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: news that our team was called the N word, I
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: was just in disbelief. And the broadcaster should be held
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: accountable so something like this doesn't happen in the future.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I'm like, so proud of all of us were standing
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: up for something so big. It's bigger than all of us.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: It's bigger than a basketball game to us. And that's
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: why we decided to knael, because racism is so much
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: bigger than everything. We wanted to have a part in
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: making a change. High school girls, well you know some
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I do support them, young sisters. Here's what Americans don't understand.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Whose forefathers stole this country, this national anthem. It's not
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: more important to us than to fight against racism. Yeah,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: and to draw attention to it. We've chosen to kneel
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: during the playing of the national anthem to draw attention
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: to it. That's all it is. We don't boo when
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: it's playing, We don't try to sing over it. You
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: can do that. But in protests that this flag does
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: not represent all of us, sometimes they choose to kneel. Yeah,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: can we get your attention on that, But oh no,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: you don't want to address that. Now this food then
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: call them an in word. And now he didn't blame
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: that on his diabetes. He had a spike. Yeah that's disgusting. Yeah,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: yeah that's what he said. Yeah, yeah, so your your
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: your disease, diabetes caused you to have racism remarks? Is
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: that what you're saying, that's what you're blaming. That's exactly
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: what he's saying. Exactly what he's saying. That's inexcusable, that
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: he's a race from the beginning, and that's another insult
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: exactly there. That's another. Yeah, if you're insulin go up,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: it caused its racism. Yeah, damn. We had a lot
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: of trouble now, y'all. Yeah, really ever solved this now?
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Now your sugar causes it? Right. So also, the players
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: have teamed up with civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, although
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: they're not planning to sue at this time. So we
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: just want to say on the Steve Hardy More the show,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: we want to say congratulations to the normal high school
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: girls basketball taking a stain in racism right there. Oh yes,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: and they want state Yep, those girls. All right, junior,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: thank you. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: it is awards season. Oscar nominees are in. We'll talk
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: about it right after this. You're listening, all right, guys,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: it's awards season, and all hail the Queen. We are
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: still riding high on Beyonce making history with her twenty

- 1:17:22Speaker 1: I was still in my nightgown. The guy propositioned me,
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: and I was furious. I told my mother she is
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: not allowed to have men in my home anymore. She said,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I can't tell her what to do. Well, how do
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I respectfully get my mother in line while she's in
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: my home? See, well, you can't tell her what to
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: do in life, but you can have rules in your
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: house and respect goes both ways. And you're old enough. Now,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: how does she say, two forty two? Who's forty two?
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: The daughter? The daughter's forty two and she just let
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: her mom move in. Well, her mama got to go
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: by the rules or else, Mama, where you want to stay?
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: But these men coming to me properly proposition to me
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: in my own house. That's unacceptable. I can't be in
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: my home and be uncomfortable. You can go out with
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: me and just go meet to them at the tavern,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: because that's what they are. The tavern. Do I love tavern? Yeah?
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: Where shout always have some nicem is. Yeah. Well you
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: can tell she's a nice woman because she wants to
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: know how to do it respectfully. Mean you have to
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: establish rules. Yeah, you can't tell her what to do,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: but you can you can decide what happens in your house.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: You can't tell her not to see men, but you
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: can't see them in here though. That's right. You're gonna
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: love this name out of Charlotte cold Fax, Henry cold Facts,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: straight out of Cleveland. Come on here, Colfax says. My
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: girlfriend and I had a weekend getaway in neighboring city,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: and my girlfriend made all of the plans. She booked
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: the hotel. When we checked in, the girl at the
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: front desk said welcome back and offered my girlfriend and
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I a discounted massage because of her loyalty point. I'm
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: looking sideways at her all weekend After that? Do I
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: question her about being a regular at this hotel or
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: do you think it will come out eventually? Well? Nah, dog,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: when you meet people, people have histories, right, Ain't no
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: need to you digging up the history. So she'd been
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: to the hotel before welcome back. Maybe she liked the
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: massages down there. Yeah, she could have went down there
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: on girls weekends. Ain't nothing to say. She was down
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: there with some dudes. So, dog, what you tripping fall? Colfax? Now,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: these is the cold Fax. Everybody had a life they
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: met you, and like you had one too. Yeah, So
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: don't blow a good thing trying to dig up dirt,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: because whatever you dig up, it ain't really dirt. She
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: didn't know you coming up. It is our last break
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: of the day, and of course we'll have some closing
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey at forty
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: nine minutes after the hour right after this you're listening show,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: all right, guys, here we are, last break of the day. Uh,
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: it's been a great day. And before we get out
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: of here, we've got to say thank you, thank you
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: so much to Don Lemon. He always knows how to
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: shed light on what's going on, you know, in the
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: world at this truth. Yeah, yeah, at this moment. And
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: like his book says, this is the fire. He said
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: it best. We are in the fire right now, right, Yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: I'm really pulled up for Sheryl Underwood. I hope, I
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: hope this is to me. How listen to me. You
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: don't even have to worry. This is not about Sheryl Underwood.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Everybody from the top of CBS to the bottom. No,
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: she handled it with nothing but grace and a queenly
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: stately manner. Is to find out the backlash they're getting
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: from Sharon Osborne and how they're gonna handle that. Yeah,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: so that's what the whole hiatus is for. To Tommy
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: the next day, they came on an A and did
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: not mention it. The republic is going, oh really, yeah,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: apologize to Ryl. I've watched it. See the very next episode.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: I said, that's it. That's right. But see she gonna
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: go to Sheryl's dressing room on her own and apologize.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: See that da't how this worked. You humiliate me publicly,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: but you want to apologize to me behind doors. No no, no,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: take your ass on TV like you did when you
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: was dogging me and make your apology. Don't write a
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: news story about me. Then the correction be on the
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: end of classified. Yeah yeah, no. Hey. That leads me
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: to my closing remarks today because yeah, I wanted to
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: share something spiritual, what you are, or something that really
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: really helped me out. Oh. I was listening to Joel Olstein.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: It's really old. But you know, since I can't go
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: to church, I go online and listen to sermons and
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: messages and stuff like that. That's just mine to keep
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: my spiritual side just fed. I'm not saying I do
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: it every day, because I don't, but it just so happened.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: The other day, I was watching a film from Joel Oldstein,
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: and what I do is when I go to YouTube,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I kind of look for the subjects that I think
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: might apply to me, because I always ask God to
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: show me what he wants me to learn today. And
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I don't know if this was a subject, but it
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: was something to the effect of controlling your atmosphere. And
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: I said, Okay, that's something I might need, and I'll
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: be dog gone if it wasn't true. And I show
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: needed it and I wanted to give it to you today.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot going on in this world
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: today that you cannot control. You can't control the news.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: You can't control what people say, what people do, how
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: people act. You can control what you allowed to come
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: into your atmosphere. Because you have absolute control over your atmosphere,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: you have control over your thoughts and your emotions. You
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: can choose to be angry or you can stop being angry.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: You can be mad or you can decide to not
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: be mad. You can you can decide to look at
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: it positively or negatively. You can decide to listen to
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: gossip and He'll say or you can decide to block
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: it out. You have a say so and what you
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: allow into your atmosphere. He told the story about a
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: man who was listening to talk radio every day before
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: he went to work, and he would get into some
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: spirited arguments, and he would be in his car just
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: arguing his point with this talk radio show, not that
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: he was calling in, just getting mad at people's viewpoint,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: to the point where he came to work every day
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: and he was in a bad attitude and people at
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: the job didn't want to hang around him, didn't want
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: to talk to him at lunch because he kept bringing
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: up all these controversial topics that he had heard on
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: talk radio and he wanted to voice his opinion, and
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: people stopped hanging around him. And then one day he
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: was looking for the talk radio on series and he
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: messed around and he stumbled across Joel Oldstein and he
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: started listening. And so then the next morning he listened again,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: and then he just started making it a habit, and
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: all of a sudden, one of his friends at the
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: office asked him, Hey, man, what is it different about you?
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: What are you doing? And he said, you know what,
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: I stopped allowing outside interference to enter into my atmosphere,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: and it changed the way our acted, behaved, and perceived things.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: And you have the right to do that. And I'm
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: saying to everybody, what are you allowing in your atmosphere?
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: You don't need toxic relationships. You don't. There's no reason
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: for you to allow a toxic relationship to exist in
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: your life. And I don't care if they family. If
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: they toxic, they toxic. There's nothing in the Bible that
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: says you have to deal with toxic people. There's nothing
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: that says as a Christian you have to tolerate toxic relationships.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: You have every right to remove yourself from it so
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: you can make room for something else to enter into
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: your atmosphere. So the more all of the story, what
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I learned is but Steve, you gotta control and to
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: say so of what enters into your atmosphere. You have
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: a say so in that. I don't have to deal
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: with you. If you're negative, if you are naysayer, if
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: you are a hater, if you spread gossip in lies,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: you can't get in my circle. I'm trying to live
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: a positive life. I'm trying to do the right thing.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: I don't need you in My day's hard enough trying
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: to be successful. No, I got missnectivity, mister nectivity just
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: coming along in my own do that. Look, Man, control
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: what you allow in your atmosphere. It will make a
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: huge difference in how you function and deal in life.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: The Bible says a man is as he thinking. So
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: what have you forced yourself to think about? Good or bad?
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: Negative or positive? You make the decision. It's your atmosphere,
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: keep it clean and going about your life. All right?
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: Those are my closing dogs today. I hope you got
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: something out of that because I showed did. Oh, we'll
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: see y'all tomorrow. Hey, y'all talk to God. He'd love
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: to hear from you for real. Y'all do that For
