- 0:36Don't brag about taking my side piece. Don't
- 0:38brag about taking my side piece. The B -Side
- 0:40thing. This is the B -Side's boxing podcast.
- 0:44I left with his belt and his girl. Eddie Hearn
- 0:53potentially going to retire if Dana White's boxing
- 0:56league comes into fruition. I don't believe that
- 1:00for a second. I don't believe that either. Eddie
- 1:04Hearn has already said he doesn't give a shit.
- 1:07We were here before them and we'll be here after
- 1:09them type thing. Yeah, gimmicks come and go.
- 1:13Yeah. What's this Canadian boycotts? Oh, okay.
- 1:19Yeah, so the guys in Discord were talking about
- 1:22it and I had to go look into it because it's
- 1:24the most Canadian bullshit ever. So Canadian...
- 1:27Canadians are doing the don't buy American. Not,
- 1:31like, try and buy Canadian or just not American.
- 1:35Yeah, I know. The boycott general. Yeah. But,
- 1:39so people are going into the stores and taking
- 1:41American products and putting them upside down.
- 1:44So, like, all the Pringles are upside down on
- 1:48the shelf. Okay. And I went and found some, like,
- 1:54Instagram posts and shit. Everybody in the comments
- 1:58is discussing whether it's vandalism. What? They're
- 2:02not ruining them. They're not doing anything.
- 2:05They're just flipping them upside down. And I'm
- 2:08like, this is the most Canadian bullshit ever.
- 2:11Is this vandalism? Yeah, you guys are being so
- 2:16rude, and somebody has to go fix that, and you're
- 2:18costing hundreds of man hours in stores across
- 2:21the country. It's like, just leave it. Yeah,
- 2:24just leave it. It does not detract from the product
- 2:27one bit. No. They're still edible. The Pringles
- 2:31are. It's fine. Yep. Yeah, I thought it was so
- 2:37funny and so Canadian. Well, this tells people
- 2:42what not to buy. And I'm like, anybody who gives
- 2:46a shit is just going to go look it up themselves,
- 2:48guys. And I'm sure it's on the label somewhere.
- 2:53Yeah. Well, and then, so, a couple years ago,
- 2:56they were boycotting Lawson's. Not Lawson's.
- 2:59Oh, fuck. I forget what the company is that owns,
- 3:03like, Safeway. Ah, drawn a blank. Anyways, doesn't
- 3:06matter. They're fucking terrible. They've been
- 3:08price gouging for years and they own so many
- 3:10different grocery stores that they can basically
- 3:13monopolize it. And so they were boycotting them
- 3:17a couple years ago for good reason. And now those
- 3:20guys have started putting little, um, peas on
- 3:24all the products that are affected by tariffs.
- 3:28Peas? Tea, like tariff. Okay, I see. So now everybody's
- 3:36like, well, maybe we could shop there again.
- 3:37And I'm like, you guys are getting tricked. Like,
- 3:40fuck off with this bullshit. Is it Sobeys? Sobeys?
- 3:44Yeah. Who owns Sobeys, though? Empire Company?
- 3:49No. Lawtons? Lawtons. Not Lawsons, Lawtons. That's
- 3:55what I was getting. Lawtons is what it's called
- 4:00in the really populated places. Sobeys for the
- 4:05East Coast and the Prairies, and Lawton's is
- 4:09Ontario and Quebec. That's similar to here, like
- 4:14in the Southwest, Kroger. Kroger has name storefronts
- 4:20all over, but Fry's is the name of the one in
- 4:24the Southwest. Yeah, it's just like they used
- 4:29to be. Well, they used to be different companies
- 4:32and then Lawton's bought them. Or whoever owns
- 4:34Lawton's bought them. And they just didn't change
- 4:38any of the store names. Because you can't have
- 4:41new grocery stores, people wouldn't go there.
- 4:43Yeah, I wanted to go to Lawton's, not fucking
- 4:47Sobeys. Exactly. Or Dominion. My mom always shopped
- 4:54at Co -op, which is locally owned. I don't think
- 4:57there's any... problems with with that one but
- 5:02it's all owned by the same people yeah if you
- 5:05look up the grocery stores in canada it's crazy
- 5:07but the co -op is the cooperative cooperative
- 5:11the local cooperative yeah it'd be nice if we
- 5:15had like an actual storefront for a farmer's
- 5:18market yeah the cooperative isn't really like
- 5:23the co -op isn't really a farmer's market so
- 5:25much as um Well, it works like a credit union.
- 5:30You pay a very small membership fee, and then
- 5:34you get dividends every year type thing. Oh,
- 5:37yeah. Okay. So it's always owned by somebody
- 5:42that actually lives there, but it's also, like,
- 5:45community -owned, kind of. Turning products upside
- 5:50down is vandalism. Yeah, yeah. It's such a stupid...
- 5:55I think it was Americans coming in trying to
- 5:57stir the pot but then the like so Karens are
- 6:03definitely still a thing but I think Canada like
- 6:06the Midwest also has the exact opposite of a
- 6:09Karen like those really nice old ladies that
- 6:12are so afraid of um offending anyone or causing
- 6:17anybody trouble that they're like overly conscious
- 6:21of it Would it be a Karen with a C and an I?
- 6:26Yeah, or maybe like a Sharon. I picture them
- 6:30being Sharon. Sharon is Karen. Yeah, that's a
- 6:33good one. Sharon. See, hear that, people? You
- 6:38too can ditch your Karen. What's the male one?
- 6:42Is it Kevin or Kyle? I still just call them Karens.
- 6:46It makes it more funny that way, actually. i
- 6:50think so because they're also the ones that really
- 6:53don't like being called by a girl's name usually
- 6:55oh this is an interesting question that you have
- 7:01here what qualities do you consider for greatness
- 7:04of xx in boxing that's cool yeah like greatest
- 7:14of all time or greatest 130 pounder or whatever
- 7:18you're I personally have a couple things that
- 7:22kind of just disqualify you that really don't
- 7:25have anything to do with boxing. But I think,
- 7:29like, if you are well known to beat your wife,
- 7:34you might be the best boxer. But you aren't the
- 7:38greatest because you're a terrible human being.
- 7:43So you're saying that greatness transcends the
- 7:46sport? Well... I think you either have to completely
- 7:52ignore stuff outside the sport or factor it all
- 7:56in. Because a lot of people, when they talk about
- 7:59Muhammad Ali, talk about his activism and stuff,
- 8:02which is good things. I agree. But if you're
- 8:06going to factor in if they're good outside the
- 8:08ring, I think you should also factor in if they're
- 8:11bad. Yeah, I agree. So either it's a factor in
- 8:17whether they're the greatest, Or it's not a factor
- 8:20at all. And I hate that a lot of people who say
- 8:23Muhammad Ali is the greatest because of things
- 8:25in the ring and things outside the ring will
- 8:28put somebody like... I can't think of anybody
- 8:32off the top of my head that's really terrible.
- 8:34But like Errol Spence. Yeah, Tyson Fury or Errol
- 8:37Spence. Like Errol was drinking and driving and
- 8:42smashed his car at 200 miles an hour. Like poor
- 8:46life choices. yeah huh and like where do you
- 8:52draw that line if you're factoring it in then
- 8:54like does being a normal decent human being give
- 8:58you bonus points because lots of people in boxing
- 9:00aren't uh no i would say being a normal person
- 9:06is doesn't get you bonus points uh simply because
- 9:12like if we want to keep with the uh muhammad
- 9:15ali analogy he went above and beyond his normal
- 9:20circumstance to do good things whereas terence
- 9:25crawford is a good example he does a lot for
- 9:27his community we just don't hear about it but
- 9:31you can see it if you look if you can find it
- 9:33if you look for it he does yeah like clothing
- 9:35drives food drives like free memberships to the
- 9:39to the gyms that he is a part of for anyone who
- 9:43wants one. That, to me, is another example of
- 9:50going above and beyond. Somebody like Mikey Garcia
- 9:54was a pretty average dude. Didn't really care
- 9:59for boxing, but he did it because he was good
- 10:02at it. And outside of the ring, he just liked
- 10:05to drive cars. That's not bonus points. Fair.
- 10:10Okay. So, like, not being a fuck -up is neutral.
- 10:16Yes. Or I suppose there's, like, mild levels
- 10:20of fuck -uppery. That's okay. But, I don't know,
- 10:24then you get into, like, the mincing words of
- 10:27what's okay, what's acceptable, and what isn't,
- 10:30so. Yeah, like. I don't know. Getting a drunk
- 10:34in public, but not hurting anybody, probably
- 10:36fine. you were just drunk in public and you didn't
- 10:40drive home and all that stuff. But, like, those
- 10:45small fuck -ups, you probably don't even hear
- 10:47about them anyways. David Benavidez popping for
- 10:50coke. Yeah. Like, I don't know. I think this
- 10:55makes it way harder to make your list. Because
- 11:00how much, also, how much, like, are you going
- 11:03to dive into people's lives to figure it out?
- 11:06I didn't know David Benavidez popped for coke
- 11:08because I don't really follow it. He got his
- 11:13belt stripped twice. He missed weight once and
- 11:15then he popped for coke the second time. Right.
- 11:19And those two contributed in large part to him
- 11:22not fighting Canelo for a long time. Not to say
- 11:26that Canelo didn't turn into a little quacker
- 11:28later, which he did. Right. But in the beginning,
- 11:31Benavidez screwed himself with poor decisions.
- 11:35Even if you are just doing in -the -ring stuff,
- 11:38say your personal decision is only in the ring,
- 11:42what does missing weight count as? I would call
- 11:46that, I would say it's related to in -ring activity
- 11:49because making weight is a part of the sport.
- 11:52I agree. So if you blow weight, can you be the
- 11:58greatest? Depends if it happens a lot or no.
- 12:01Because if it happens once, then... you know
- 12:04and how close were you right like if you miss
- 12:06weight by 0 .2 pounds that's a lot different
- 12:09than fucking ryan garcia blowing it by three
- 12:12probably on purpose or who was that guy who was
- 12:16supposed to fight in japan had a very hispanic
- 12:20name that missed by like six pounds like you
- 12:22didn't even fucking try it's like jonathan gonzalez
- 12:25i think it was yeah something very hispanic you're
- 12:29right um there was another jonathan hispanic
- 12:33last name on the card as well so i think there's
- 12:36two people with the same name actually i think
- 12:38they were both jonathan gonzalez fun and then
- 12:42the other like if you're doing all time which
- 12:45i think is impossible and stupid i think all
- 12:47these greatest conversations they can be fun
- 12:51if everybody's having fun but when somebody starts
- 12:54getting like no there is a right answer not fun
- 12:57anymore i wonder who that's a reference to It's
- 13:01not just him. It's not just him. People do this.
- 13:04It's like, oh, well, how could you even possibly
- 13:06say that name? I think I threw out Marvin Hagler
- 13:10for whatever weight class that is. And they're
- 13:13like, well, he lost to Sugar Ray Leonard and
- 13:16blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I don't care.
- 13:18I just think he was the best. At 160, that was
- 13:21his weight class. And Sugar Ray Leonard moved
- 13:25up to 160. So I don't know if you want to. If
- 13:29you want to shit on him for anything, you would
- 13:31say he lost to that guy moving up. But I don't
- 13:36know. That happened to me once with Andre Ward.
- 13:40And I said, like, top 10 super middleweights
- 13:44and potentially light heavyweights. But I got,
- 13:49like, no, he doesn't even make the top 10. And,
- 13:52like, okay, name 10. Like, most of these are
- 13:56not even real fucking people. yeah but if you
- 14:00do all time then it's that argument of like well
- 14:04those guys in the whatever like 30s they would
- 14:10not compete today they didn't have the nutrition
- 14:12or training or dedicated camps like if you just
- 14:17took one of them and put them in a ring with
- 14:19a mediocre guy today i really think they'd lose
- 14:23the sport has evolved sports evolve it wouldn't
- 14:26even be close the modernly trained would smoke
- 14:31any any classical era boxer of any like even
- 14:37like jack johnson who is my favorite old -timey
- 14:40heavyweight would get his ass beat by usik or
- 14:45uh fucking maybe even joseph parker well yeah
- 14:49it's like it's every sport if you put an If you
- 14:55threw Bobby Orr into the NHL right now, without
- 15:00upgrading him and pretending he grew up with
- 15:04the modern training and stuff, Bobby Orr is getting
- 15:08fucked. And the goalies are stopping him. He
- 15:11couldn't skate as fast. Just look at track and
- 15:14field. The records keep going down or up, depending
- 15:18on which they are. There are very few things
- 15:21that the old guys could do better. because they
- 15:24don't have the dedicated life to it because they
- 15:29all had day jobs. Then, yeah, you get into too
- 15:32much of speculation, too many ifs, where you
- 15:36say, okay, we take Jack Johnson and we bring
- 15:39him to the modern era and we give him modern
- 15:41camps and he's a professional athlete. He does
- 15:44not do a single other thing with his life but
- 15:46prepare for fights. I mean, he'd probably be
- 15:50amazing, but maybe he wouldn't. Because maybe
- 15:53he was good because of who he was fighting. Yeah.
- 15:58Yeah. Like, maybe he was just naturally a little
- 16:03talented, but perhaps didn't have the dedication
- 16:06it would take for the modern camps and the weight
- 16:09cuts and the, you know. Given his time, his era,
- 16:13like the early aughts of the last century, like,
- 16:17man, it's not a... It isn't an exaggeration to
- 16:22say that he was definitely limited by his race.
- 16:26Yeah. He had a lot of trouble that was just trumped
- 16:30up nonsense simply because he was a black man
- 16:34that was successful. I always get him and the
- 16:37other one confused. Is he the one who was arrested
- 16:40for transporting white women across state lines
- 16:43or whatever the bullshit charge was? Yeah, that's
- 16:45the one. Yeah, okay. Because he was taking them
- 16:49for moral perversions. Yes, yes. I mean, probably.
- 16:55Well, yeah. The law was that he was making them
- 16:58into prostitutes. And that's why he got busted.
- 17:01That's why they wrote it, supposedly. But it's
- 17:03like, no. Man, they just liked him bigger. Sorry,
- 17:08buddy. It's not your fault. Not his fault either.
- 17:13But I don't know. I just... maybe it's because
- 17:16i'm more science oriented but you have to define
- 17:20your variables before you have these discussions
- 17:23because everybody has different characteristics
- 17:27that they're looking for in different ways they're
- 17:30thinking about it like i mean the the old uh
- 17:34discussions about who's the best weight jumper
- 17:38everybody always says pacquiao because he has
- 17:41the most belts and the most weight classes but
- 17:45Would he go up, like, 50 pounds? I think he went
- 17:50from 105 to 154, but he didn't fully make 154.
- 17:54So 45, 46? Okay. We'll be nice and just say it's
- 17:5950. Yeah, round number. There was more than 50
- 18:04pounds between Usyk and Fury when they fought.
- 18:07Like, in that fight, there was more than 50 pounds.
- 18:09So the person who's beat the most competition
- 18:11at, like, different weights, I think is probably
- 18:17either Usyk or somebody like Holyfield. That
- 18:21wasn't a heavyweight that went into heavyweight.
- 18:24Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Does that count
- 18:26as weight jumping though? Some people will say
- 18:29no, because it's all one weight class since it's
- 18:33unlimited, but that's ridiculous. Like that is
- 18:36the weight disparity. It should still be a factor
- 18:39that should count as a weight jump. Yeah. Somebody
- 18:42was being very. aggressive about it on the internet
- 18:47the other day, and I was like, no, like, just
- 18:49do the fucking math. Like, Usyk has beaten people
- 18:51from, and I looked it up, I can't remember the
- 18:54weights, but like, I think it was 190 pounds
- 18:59to whatever Fury was, 280? Yeah. Like, that's
- 19:03a 100 pound difference, 90 pound difference,
- 19:05whatever it is. That's a bigger difference than
- 19:07anyone Pacquiao ever beat, and Pacquiao has the
- 19:11quote -unquote benefit. of starting boxing when
- 19:15he was still growing and malnutrition. No, but
- 19:21legitimately, Pacquiao from a middle -class family
- 19:26never would have had that weight disparity because
- 19:29he wouldn't have been 100 pounds at 16. His frame
- 19:33was bigger. Yeah. He had famously put rocks.
- 19:40into his pockets at weigh -ins because he knew
- 19:42he wasn't gonna make the minimum yeah and like
- 19:47pacquiao's story is great and i love pacquiao
- 19:49i am not trying to take away from him at all
- 19:52but if you're doing these like imaginary lists
- 19:55you have to kind of define how you're saying
- 19:59it pacquiao is the greatest weight class jumper
- 20:03maybe because there's other people that have
- 20:05gone up and down more Yeah, they just fluctuate
- 20:10between a certain range. Yeah, well, and I mean,
- 20:13if you're doing ever, you have... Who was it?
- 20:17Somebody was four different weight classes champion
- 20:19back in the day and defended all four belts.
- 20:22Can't remember who it was. See if I can look
- 20:25this up real quick. This is when I start making
- 20:28up names. Yeah. It's somebody I've heard of.
- 20:34Charlie the Butcher Slinger. The meat slinger.
- 20:40Is that him? That's good, but that's not him.
- 20:46No, this is giving me people who've had four
- 20:49weight classes, but not at the same time. Simultaneously?
- 20:55I have found that Google is getting stupider,
- 20:59I think. Yeah, I was having that issue with the
- 21:03AI thing as well. That we had talked about last
- 21:07time. Well, and I have found that... Ah, okay.
- 21:11Most boxing world titles held simultaneously.
- 21:14Henry Johnson. Henry Johnson. Henry R... Henry
- 21:18Armstrong? That sounds familiar. Was featherweight,
- 21:23welterweight, and lightweight champion all at
- 21:26the same time in 1938. So I guess it was three,
- 21:30not four. Still a lot. Yeah. Like... But... Does
- 21:35that count? Because I don't think they were doing
- 21:38weight cuts back then. They didn't really have
- 21:41to. Yeah, well, nobody had time. Does it count?
- 21:51Yeah, I don't know. It's always... I always have...
- 21:57I have as much as I like. I love them. Sorry,
- 22:01I'm going to interrupt you. You were making up
- 22:02names, but... Henry Armstrong, a .k .a. Homicide
- 22:07Hank. Homicide Hank. That's amazing. Willie Thunder
- 22:12Road Pepperidge. He's a taxi driver by day. As
- 22:18much as I like him, it's my favorite trollish
- 22:24point to say, like, oh, he has the most titles.
- 22:27No, he didn't. The same. number of people. Other
- 22:31people have won titles in six divisions because
- 22:34Pacquiao didn't win titles in eight. Right. I
- 22:39just love throwing that one out because it makes
- 22:41me feel good. Yeah, he skipped a couple. You're
- 22:45right. He skipped a couple and two of them were
- 22:47secondary titles. Right. And yeah, before you
- 22:53come for me, I want you to look into it yourself.
- 22:56Do both of us a favor. before i embarrass you
- 23:00look it up for yourself and then then and only
- 23:05then you have my number but like i don't think
- 23:09i don't think they'd even let you try to have
- 23:12a belt in three different weight classes and
- 23:15defend them all now not in boxing no but greatest
- 23:20weight jumper i mean that has to factor in a
- 23:24little i think you'd have to in the discussion
- 23:28anyway i always wonder you brought up a good
- 23:33point of like do we consider in ring or out or
- 23:35not out of ring or in ring only and i wonder
- 23:42if like i would keep you could do both like they
- 23:46would just be really really similar because like
- 23:49in in rings in ring only i would have tyson fury
- 23:53included in heavyweights for just Top 10 heavyweights
- 23:57of the last 50 years. Sure. But if we're including
- 24:01out -of -ring antics, then absolutely not. Well,
- 24:06if we're including out -of -ring antics, I think
- 24:09Mike Tyson gets knocked out too. Absolutely.
- 24:11Quicker than Tyson Fury does. Yeah. I think the
- 24:15list would end up being quite a bit different.
- 24:17A lot of the top 10 guys have problems outside
- 24:20of the ring. I'm not a heavyweight person. I
- 24:23can't think of many. Tommy Morrison? Oh, geez.
- 24:26Yeah. Like, he's probably in the top 10 list
- 24:29in the last 50 years. He'd be out. I think that's
- 24:33why a lot of people try not to include out -of
- 24:36-ring stuff. You end up losing a lot of the top
- 24:39guys. A lot of flawed heroes. But if you don't
- 24:43include it, I don't think Muhammad Ali is as
- 24:46high up as everyone says. He's still up there,
- 24:51yeah, but probably not. He's still top 10, but
- 24:54I... I don't think strictly in -ring that you're
- 24:58going to put him at number one. He has a lot
- 25:01of losses, and I don't know. He was beatable.
- 25:07He was quite beatable. Yeah, and it's always
- 25:10a what -if question of that time he spent in
- 25:14prison because he refused to go to Vietnam. Okay,
- 25:17so let's do this comparison because I think they
- 25:21have... more similarities than people think muhammad
- 25:25ali and mike tyson in ring only i think mike
- 25:30tyson is better he was more unbeatable he was
- 25:34more scary at the time they both had their time
- 25:36in prison to like what what if and they both
- 25:41fought maybe a little too long and took a bunch
- 25:43of losses at the end of their career yeah um
- 25:46in ring only I think it does come down to a bit
- 25:51of style preference because Ali had a little
- 25:54bit more finesse versus the explosive onslaught,
- 26:00blitzkrieg type of shit. I don't know which.
- 26:04But everybody always puts Ali higher because
- 26:07he was a better guy. And I don't think that's
- 26:09necessarily wrong. I just think if you're using
- 26:13out of ring... Tyson shouldn't be on the fucking
- 26:16list at all. Either Tyson. Keep it consistent.
- 26:19Tyson Fury or Mike Tyson. But then you lose most
- 26:24of the best guys. It's a tough question. It is.
- 26:27It's an interesting one. I would have to actually
- 26:33sit down and look into people's life to see what
- 26:39they were like. I don't know. toyed with the
- 26:45idea like oh this was years ago not not recently
- 26:49but i had toyed with the idea of running for
- 26:51public office and then i thought about it i was
- 26:53like wait do i want people digging into my shit
- 26:56and stuff that i completely forgot i completely
- 26:59forgot about is gonna get you know brought up
- 27:02in my face again like i don't think so blackface
- 27:09Halloween costumes. Yeah, nothing like that.
- 27:14No. It made me think of Trudeau. This actually
- 27:20would be a question for the other show, if that's
- 27:25the case. Personally, I think you should just
- 27:29ignore out -of -ring stuff. Yeah. But I don't
- 27:34think it's fair to... Well... I mean, it's all
- 27:38just talking and bullshit anyways, but I don't
- 27:42like how people elevate people really high because
- 27:46of out of bring stuff, but they don't downgrade
- 27:48people because of out of bring stuff. Similar
- 27:52to our last time when we talked about pound for
- 27:55pound where everyone has to move up, but nobody's
- 27:58moves down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, so I guess I
- 28:04hadn't. talked about pound for pound stuff for
- 28:07a long time but yeah you're right everybody thinks
- 28:10of it as well if this guy was a heavyweight but
- 28:12in my head I always do it the other way because
- 28:16I like the lower weight classes better and I
- 28:19just every time I try and imagine a heavyweight
- 28:22shrunk down to a featherweight they just seem
- 28:26so slow and uncoordinated to me not all of them
- 28:31but like a lot of them Like, even Tyson Fury,
- 28:34if you just made him shorter and changed nothing
- 28:37else, he is too slow to fight anyone. Yeah, and...
- 28:42And Fury's one of the ones that they say is super,
- 28:45like... Limber. Athletic and fast and stuff is
- 28:49a heavyweight. But I'm like, yeah, but if you
- 28:51actually just take that speed and put it at featherweight,
- 28:55people would hit him 50 times before he even
- 28:57knew what the fuck happened. I think of someone
- 28:59like Artur Beterbiev. who is, of the last 20
- 29:05-something years or whatever, he's one of the
- 29:07better light heavyweights that we've seen. But
- 29:09moving him down to fight, say, Bam Rodriguez.
- 29:13Yeah, he's too slow. Everything being equal,
- 29:16you just move, you shrink down, better be it.
- 29:19And he gets his ass beat. His style lends to
- 29:23being pieced up by a guy like Bam perfectly.
- 29:26But if you move him up in weight, he fits in
- 29:29fine. Because... He hits hard and, you know.
- 29:34Yeah, he doesn't rely on athleticism nearly as
- 29:37much. This is why the small guys never get credit
- 29:42in the pound for pound unless they're getting
- 29:44knockouts. Because they're like, oh, well, he's
- 29:47got no power. Yeah, but he's got so much speed
- 29:51and angles and other stuff. Like, I hate this
- 29:56argument that boxing is just about hitting hard.
- 29:59Because it's not. Like, if you took Lomachenko
- 30:03and made him a heavyweight, he'd kind of look
- 30:06like Usyk, probably. And that's working. Usyk
- 30:11has shown you don't need one -hit power to run
- 30:15a division at the top. Interesting how you had
- 30:21mentioned it, because as far as I understand
- 30:24it... And this might be different because this
- 30:27is like scoring rounds, but it's supposed to
- 30:29be like that damage is the most important part.
- 30:33Even if the damage is like, so it's like, do
- 30:37you hit land three really clean, really damaging
- 30:41shots, or do you land 10 that are marginally
- 30:46damaging? Like not as nearly as much. Collectively,
- 30:49they add up to a lot, but then which one do you
- 30:53score for? I mean, I score for the more landed
- 30:58punches, usually. If the damage is equal, and
- 31:03you land two punches and I land ten punches,
- 31:07damage is equal, then I have shown more ring
- 31:11generalship, more accuracy, and more effective
- 31:14aggression. By landing ten punches, I think.
- 31:19Having one... one -hit power is always going
- 31:23to be good because you can win by knockout. But
- 31:28if you're not knocking people out, effective
- 31:31aggression is, like, the next thing. And if you
- 31:34have effective aggression, you usually are winning
- 31:36the ring generalship. Power versus a bunch of
- 31:39smaller, less damaging hits is e -ball versus
- 31:43better DM. Yeah, death by a thousand cuts or
- 31:46the guillotine. Yeah, like who's the pro box
- 31:52guy? Algeria? No, the little Japanese guy fighting
- 31:58on pro box who had never, yeah, had never had
- 32:01any knockouts, but he gets on pro box and he
- 32:04just stops people eventually. Yep. Like, I don't
- 32:10know. I think there would, I think if you imagine
- 32:14shrinking down the bigger guys. there's been
- 32:17too much emphasis on power at the high weight
- 32:20classes they would lose yeah they're also not
- 32:24used to people throwing that many punches because
- 32:26at the higher weight classes you're scared to
- 32:28get hit if you can get knocked out by one punch
- 32:31like if that's a real threat you don't open up
- 32:35as much but at the lower weight classes They're
- 32:38not scared of one punch. They're scared of a
- 32:41hundred punches. So you can let your hands go
- 32:45to start with because the chances of you getting
- 32:47knocked out right away are pretty low. Not impossible,
- 32:51but pretty low. It's just more fun. The lower
- 32:54weight classes are more fun. Yeah, when you're
- 32:57scared of getting knocked out. My favorite example
- 32:59of this is Mexican -style Triple G when he was
- 33:05all come forward pressure. Didn't really care
- 33:08if you hit him a few times. Yeah. Because he's
- 33:11going to get you with one really good one. The
- 33:13one time he didn't do that, though, he did not
- 33:15open up himself to any return fire was fighting
- 33:19David Lemieux. Because Lemieux could knock a
- 33:23bitch out. Yeah. Like, that's the only thing
- 33:25he could do, but he was good at it. It was that
- 33:28otherworldly... type of power that like deontay
- 33:31wilder gervonta davis those very rare that people
- 33:36have it yeah i don't know i just there is definitely
- 33:40a bias towards the the big guys of course and
- 33:45always it's all yeah and everybody's like arguments
- 33:50are always well it's more exciting because anyone
- 33:52can get knocked out at any time and Well, if
- 33:57the big guys fought the little guys, the big
- 33:59guys would win. Those are always the two arguments
- 34:01people give me when I ask why. And I just, I
- 34:05don't like when anybody can get knocked out at
- 34:08any point because they're too cautious. I just
- 34:11want to see two tiny little men punch each other
- 34:14a thousand times. Set the record for most punches
- 34:19thrown every other week. Yeah, it's awesome.
- 34:23It's way more exciting than the big guys who
- 34:25throw like 10 punches around. Yeah. Support for

- 37:29you have listed here. Go down to the other ones.
- 37:32I didn't see the Tsuboi, the debut guy. Yeah,
- 37:37so he was the very first fight on the broadcast,
- 37:42I think. SharksFanAbroad on the Discord was watching.
- 37:47I'm pretty sure he said that he saw that one.
- 37:50It was his debut, and he looked really good,
- 37:54and I should pull up who he fought. Because for
- 37:57a debut fight, it was a crazy opponent. He fought...
- 38:04A Thai guy who was 14 -3, yeah, 14 -4 now. When
- 38:10he fought him, he was 14 -3 -0. Wow, that's actually
- 38:13really damn good. For a debut, yeah. And this
- 38:18Homoya Suboi knocked him out in the second round,
- 38:24I think. Or was it the first? How many rounds
- 38:27was the fight? Give me two seconds, I'll grab
- 38:30my program. They say everything in Japanese,
- 38:34so I'm not sure. I've been keeping all my programs,
- 38:37and I filled up a whole box with boxing programs.
- 38:42I sent it home with my brother. It was eight
- 38:46rounds. Eight? Eight -round debut. Yeah. Who
- 38:49the hell is this kid? That is amazing. I have
- 38:52no idea. I've never heard of him, but he impressed
- 38:54the fuck out of me. He looked really good. I
- 38:57know nobody else can see it, but... that's him
- 39:01yeah he looks serious he impressed the out of
- 39:06me i actually missed that it was his debut because
- 39:09again everything's like he's introduced in japanese
- 39:11and stuff uh so after the fight i was like holy
- 39:15who is this guy like he's great and the discord
- 39:18guys are like yeah that was his debut and i was
- 39:20like i had to like pull up my program and double
- 39:23check you should find the fight yeah i want to
- 39:26see this i have a good idea of where i can catch
- 39:29it Does ESPN Plus not do rewatches? They have
- 39:37it up. That's where I was able to catch the last
- 39:41four fights or whatever. Yeah, he was the first
- 39:45of the four fights. He was fourth. He's the only
- 39:50other one that was broadcast except the world
- 39:52titles. I'll have to look again because I don't...
- 39:57He really didn't look like he was debuting. No,
- 40:00I'm really confused. Because I didn't see any
- 40:03debut level people at all. He was the first fight
- 40:08on the broadcast, though. Interesting. Okay.
- 40:12I don't know if ESPN picks up all of them, though.
- 40:15Well, if there's four fights, he's the first
- 40:18one. Because there was actually six fights in
- 40:22the arena. But he's only got... 37 amateur fights
- 40:28and 14 of those are losses. I don't know, man.
- 40:31I don't know who this kid is, but I was impressed
- 40:34and I think people should look him up. He was
- 40:37good. Kyo Gucci. Was it a knockdown? We had already
- 40:42started getting into this one on Instagram. Yeah.
- 40:46Was it a knockdown? I only saw the replay in
- 40:50the arena. But that's the replay. Like, I don't
- 40:53think you saw anything different. Probably not.
- 40:56I don't think it was a knockdown. He got hit
- 40:58with a punch. There was, like, another second.
- 41:01And then he missed with a punch and fell. And
- 41:04they were falling all over the place. I don't
- 41:06know what the fuck was up with those two. Yeah,
- 41:08they were slipping a lot. But nobody else slipped.
- 41:12Like, it wasn't the ring. No other fighters were
- 41:15having trouble. It was those two were just super
- 41:18off balance because Ola Squaga had absolute like
- 41:22cartoon style swing miss flip around and fall
- 41:27on his face too. He did. I remember that. Like
- 41:31it looked like fucking Looney Tunes. I'm trying
- 41:35to find the knockdown here. I don't remember
- 41:38what round or anything. Yeah. While you look
- 41:41for it, did you see a close -up picture of Ola
- 41:44Sklaga's gloves? No, but when I saw the one that
- 41:47you sent, they look really, really cool. Yeah,
- 41:51so he had a castle and cherry trees, and his
- 41:56gloves were pink. So I just thought they were
- 41:59the coolest gloves I've ever seen. I really like
- 42:02that he's leaning into the princess nickname.
- 42:05His t -shirts he had during the... press conference
- 42:10or the like open workout looked really cool too
- 42:13i kind of want to see if i can figure out how
- 42:15to buy a t -shirt from him uh he i think lives
- 42:18in japan now so does he yeah nice um because
- 42:23he's got the a for anthony and then the o kind
- 42:27of wraps around it and the front of the o is
- 42:29a princess tiara very cool i think it looks awesome
- 42:33they were talking about it on the broadcast he
- 42:36got the nickname from uh his previous coach or
- 42:43his previous camp or whatever and it was because
- 42:46the way he color coordinates everything uh he
- 42:49likes to get his nails done eyebrows waxed he's
- 42:54a metro metro kind of guy and i just i like it
- 42:59he seems very likable i was having trouble trying
- 43:02to figure out who to cheer for in this one yeah
- 43:04those gloves were really cool He also apologized
- 43:09that the pink dye had washed out of his hair
- 43:12a little bit before the fight. He's like, my
- 43:15hair isn't very pink, I'm sorry. Which I think
- 43:18confused the Japanese people. Do you know which
- 43:25round it is? I do not. BoxRec has that, right?
- 43:29No, they're not showing it to me, if they do.
- 43:31Really? Yeah. They usually say knockdowns and
- 43:35when. I'm logged in and everything too. It's
- 43:38usually why it doesn't show. Yeah. That's because
- 43:42it wasn't a fucking knockdown. Maybe it got overturned.
- 43:47You know? Wouldn't have changed anything. It
- 43:50didn't because they reviewed it in the ring.
- 43:54Yeah, it's not showing. No, it's not. Somebody
- 43:59will have it. Yeah, I'm checking the scorecards.
- 44:03It's the 11th. I knew it was late in the fight.
- 44:05Yeah, that's why I was fast -forwarding from...
- 44:07I was in the 10th when I stopped. All right.
- 44:13Did I... You must have skipped it. Yeah. There
- 44:17it is. There. Wow. The ref's in the way there.
- 44:21Yeah. Not a good angle. I think they probably
- 44:25have a replay in between the two rounds. They
- 44:27will. I just want to see it again from here.
- 44:31So this right hand lands. The left hand misses.
- 44:34Or the other way around. And Kiyaguchi misses
- 44:37with a punch. Yeah, he missed with the right
- 44:39hand. Alright, replay time. Yeah, I don't understand
- 44:42why these guys were falling so much. It was almost
- 44:46like their feet... Well, it's like their feet
- 44:48were clashing. Even though they're both orthodox.
- 44:53Alright, so he threw out a little pawing jab.
- 44:56Yeah. Another one. Leaps in. It hits him with
- 45:02the left. Misses with the right. And then Kiyoguchi
- 45:08misses with a right. And he's off balance and
- 45:11that's why he goes down. I really don't think
- 45:14that's a knockdown. The punch that landed just
- 45:16before he did it, though, that's got to be why
- 45:19they justified it as a knockdown. That's why
- 45:21they justified it. But the punch lands. It doesn't
- 45:24initiate the knockdown, or it doesn't cause it.
- 45:27It doesn't cause the knockdown. Yeah. And it
- 45:30doesn't land while he's falling. Yeah, he's straight
- 45:31up slipped. This was not a knockdown. Man, that
- 45:35is tough. That sucks for the judges. That is
- 45:39a tough one. And they announced that they were
- 45:42reviewing it, and I was like, okay, it'll be
- 45:46overturned. And they showed that replay, and
- 45:48I was like, excellent, overturn coming, and then
- 45:50the knockdown stood. It turned out it didn't
- 45:53matter on the cards, but that was not a knockdown.
- 45:57I don't think it was a knockdown. I guess it
- 45:59mattered in that it would have been a majority
- 46:01win instead of a unanimous decision, but it didn't
- 46:05change the outcome of the fight. Yeah. Man, that
- 46:11one is rough. Well, I think something very similar
- 46:17happened to Ola Squaga a few rounds ago, right?
- 46:19Like, a punch landed and then he missed and slipped.
- 46:23Yeah. Because it happened like six times in this
- 46:26fight, and I do not understand why, because nobody
- 46:29else was slipping. Oh, that's right. Actually,
- 46:32now that you put it that way. Like, the canvas
- 46:35wasn't the problem, because... I think there
- 46:39was one slip in one of the other fights. And
- 46:42the main event had no slips that came after.
- 46:45So it wasn't like water on the ring or anything.
- 46:48That's what I thought it was. It was like water
- 46:50getting on the shoes. And then when you go onto
- 46:53the advertisements, people always slip on the
- 46:56advertisements. But there wasn't any advertisements,
- 46:59was there? Just the one that you next in the
- 47:01middle. That was it. But that's not where they
- 47:03were slipping. They were slipping over on this.
- 47:06side like halfway between corners like right
- 47:10it was really weird and that that one that was
- 47:15counted and knocked down was in the the one corner
- 47:18but like i don't think it looks like the ring
- 47:21was wet or anything no it didn't man that is
- 47:25doo -doo yeah like i said it ended up not really
- 47:29mattering but at the time i was pissed i was
- 47:32yelling it's um It's hard, because I am usually
- 47:39of the mind that if you get tagged and then slip,
- 47:44or you slip and you get tagged as you're slipping,
- 47:46it's a knockdown, whether or not you slipped.
- 47:50Right. But if he'd have gotten hit while he was
- 47:54going down, it's a knockdown. But he didn't.
- 47:58Yeah, he got hit just before the knockdown sequence
- 48:02began. Yeah, but... That punch did not cause
- 48:06the knockdown. He was standing after that. I've
- 48:11seen situations where, like this, and then the
- 48:16punch that makes it a knockdown had nothing to
- 48:20do with the guy going down. It just so happened
- 48:22that he landed it right before he fell. Right.
- 48:27I mean, it's not the most atrocious call I've
- 48:29ever seen, but... That's a tough one to make.
- 48:33Like, you have to make that on the fly, too.
- 48:35Yeah, I'm not saying the ref did it wrong, but
- 48:38I thought the review would overturn it. I thought
- 48:41you were talking about planning for their public
- 48:44execution. No, no. I was just worked up because
- 48:49the fights were really good. The fights were
- 48:51really good. You know what wasn't good? Taraji.
- 48:55Fucking ref stoppage in the last one. Man, they
- 48:58saved Taraji. They saved his ass. They bailed
- 49:02him out. Yeah, they did. So bad. He was behind.
- 49:07He had to have been. He was behind, except he
- 49:10wasn't really on the judges' scorecard. Oh, yeah,
- 49:13right. But his corner told him you have to get
- 49:18a knockout. He came out in the 12th looking for
- 49:21a knockout. He was up on two cards. Yeah, I told
- 49:25you that. It's fucking madness. It makes no sense.
- 49:28Akui was winning that fight. They were robbing
- 49:31my boy either way, let's be honest. But Karadji
- 49:36came out looking for the knockout, which was
- 49:39great. Like, that was all exciting. But Akui
- 49:43had taken some damage, but he hadn't been knocked
- 49:46down at all in this fight. And the ref stopped
- 49:49it before he was knocked down. It's not... How
- 49:54do I put it? It's the last round. He's got a
- 49:57minute and a half. Let him take the knockdown.
- 50:00He's not going to take that much more damage
- 50:03if you wait until he falls on his ass to call
- 50:05it. He wasn't up against the ropes. No. It's
- 50:09not like he was up against the ropes getting
- 50:11beat up and hanging there. He was standing. It
- 50:16made no sense. Let him get knocked down at least.
- 50:19Like, this is the most clear you gotta save the
- 50:22favorite I have ever seen in Japan. And poor
- 50:26Akui, he cried so much in the ring. They did
- 50:30the, like, cover his head with a towel. He was
- 50:33just bawling his eyes out. I would be just out
- 50:37of a fit of rage. Yeah, well, so I think in Japan
- 50:42they don't yell and get angry. They do the, I'm
- 50:48so angry, I'm going to cry. Yeah, the man tears.
- 50:52Yeah, yeah. It's funny. It's much more acceptable
- 50:56here for men to cry than for men to yell. Fellas,
- 51:00it's completely fine to cry. There's nothing
- 51:02wrong with it. I wasn't making fun of them. I'm
- 51:05just saying that there's a cultural difference.
- 51:06No, I'm not telling you. I'm telling the boys.
- 51:08Like, get the fucking touch. That's why she doesn't
- 51:11text you back. Because you're an emotional fucking
- 51:13retard. But yeah, no, I thought that was a terrible
- 51:16fucking stoppage. I thought that was atrocious.
- 51:20I felt so bad for him. Yeah. Stop in the 11th.
- 51:23Okay, so we're right here. 54, 3, 2. No, no,
- 51:28he gets stopped in the 12th. Oh, does he? That's
- 51:30right. Yeah. 12 rounds completed. I'm not very
- 51:33smart. I just, because Taraji came out swinging
- 51:38in the 12th, which is what he had to do. I was
- 51:41sitting there like, he needs a knockout. Somebody
- 51:44was like, yeah, he needs at least a knockdown.
- 51:47And I was like, I don't think a knockdown will
- 51:49do it. Although the crooked fucking judges, it
- 51:52would have. But I think it's right around a minute
- 51:55and a half. So, yeah, Tarashi's really bringing
- 52:00the heat. Oh, and he's winning this round for
- 52:03sure. Yeah, he is. But winning this round alone,
- 52:06that wasn't going to be enough. Well, it was.
- 52:10Well, yeah, when you got the right people in
- 52:12your pocket. I felt so bad for Akui. Like, we're
- 52:17at 145, and he's throwing back a little here.
- 52:20Like, still losing, but he's landing punches.
- 52:23He's covering. He's defending. Ducking and weaving
- 52:26a little. Oh, come the fuck on. Right? What?
- 52:31What? Like, he was ducking and weaving, and the
- 52:35ref stopped it. Just because he got tagged while
- 52:37he was weaving doesn't mean that he was, like,
- 52:40out. Or anything? He was not out on his feet.
- 52:43No, he wasn't. There's people all over the internet
- 52:45going, he's out on his feet. He was actively
- 52:47defending himself. Just not, didn't have his
- 52:50hands up. I think the ref misread it. Thought
- 52:54that he, like the hands were down. Even though
- 52:57the hands were down to, he was kind of, it was
- 53:00a little showboaty putting his hands down thinking,
- 53:02I'm just going to head weave my way away from
- 53:06Taraji. And he got tagged anyway, multiple times.
- 53:09I think that's why. Sure, but he was standing,
- 53:13actively defending himself. It's a bullshit stoppage.
- 53:17It's a bullshit. Top to bottom, it's bullshit.
- 53:19I'm really trying to figure out what they could
- 53:22have possibly been thinking. Because it doesn't
- 53:25make sense. The ref was thinking that the favorite
- 53:27was losing. And that he has a big next fight
- 53:31lined up. And he's got to save that next fight.
- 53:35Is what he was thinking. There's no reasonable
- 53:39explanation. What, he fights Ola Squaga next?
- 53:42To unify titles? He called out Bam. Oh. I don't
- 53:47think that's going to happen. He called out Bam.
- 53:50Moving up from 112 to 115, it's not terrible.
- 53:55But, I mean, like, Taraji's the name. Nobody
- 53:58knows who Akui is. Of course. So, Taraji's getting
- 54:02a little bit of international fame, and they
- 54:04wanted to... rescue that i think keep it intact
- 54:08and instead job his ass on on espn for everyone
- 54:13to see that was a terrible stoppage it was i
- 54:16don't care what anybody says akui was not that
- 54:19damaged it was he was actively defending himself
- 54:22like even watching the replay you were like this
- 54:25is where they stop it like it actually looks
- 54:29worse on the replay than it did yeah that shit
- 54:33does not make sense It was terrible. I felt bad
- 54:37for him. Yeah. He looks like a goofball. Taraji
- 54:42or Akui? Taraji. Taraji's got a weird style.
- 54:48Somebody in Discord was just super rude. They're
- 54:51like, his face is terrible. I was like, what's
- 54:53that even mean? What does that have to do with
- 54:56anything? Yeah, I don't know. That was a jobbing.
- 55:03My man, that sucks, dude. Fuck. I felt bad for
- 55:07Kiyokuchi, too, but that was at least competitive
- 55:10and decently scored. He was the WBA champ. Akui.
- 55:16Yeah. Yeah. It's not listed on BoxRec, so I always
- 55:19forget. Oh, yeah. No, this was a unification,
- 55:23wasn't it? Dang. Should be fighting Ola Squaga
- 55:26next. I think Ola Squaga beat stuff. Fuck. Out
- 55:31of Taraji, I'm not going to lie. Taraji's there
- 55:34to be hit. All the time. Yeah. Yeah, I don't
- 55:38know. I was tore up about that stoppage. I was
- 55:41not happy. Well, we are at an hour -ish, just

- 57:04for the old outline here? Not unless you want
- 57:10to talk about the press conference. I didn't
- 57:13see it. You didn't see it? No. We don't have
- 57:16to talk about it very much, but Tio came in fucking
- 57:21crazy this time. Tio had a giant sword he was
- 57:25carrying around. He was wearing a vest with no
- 57:27shirt underneath and a cowboy hat and like a
- 57:32belt buckle. And at one point he stood up and
- 57:34walked a little ways away from the table because
- 57:36someone else was talking. But like you could
- 57:38hear him in the background on the mic. Look at
- 57:41my belt buckle. I got a huge cock. I got a huge
- 57:44dick. And I'm like, what are you doing, Tio?
- 57:47And what does your belt buckle have to do with
- 57:49any of this? And then he... The belt buckle's
- 57:54his symbol. Yeah. Who's Tio fighting? Barbossa?
- 57:58I think? He slapped him at the face -off. Like,
- 58:02just full from the ass slapped him. That's funny.
- 58:07And poor Jose Ramirez is just sitting there like,
- 58:09what the fuck? I am the only sane person on this
- 58:13stage. What have I gotten myself into? Yeah.
- 58:17Haney's dad was being crazy and giving... Who's
- 58:23the moderator guy? Him something, I think. Anyways,
- 58:27the guy who was running the thing, he gave him
- 58:32shit for introducing Garcia like normal instead
- 58:37of being like... PD cheat Brian Garcia. And the
- 58:43only one that was really kind of surprising was
- 58:46Roley didn't say anything. But he looked just
- 58:51kind of sad. But yeah, no, the full crazy was
- 58:55out on the second press conference. So I guess
- 58:58I'll have to watch the next one. I feel so bad
- 59:00for Jose Ramirez, though. He's just like, what
- 59:03the fuck is this? Oh, Barbossa got slapped, so
- 59:07he's going to come out acting up next time, too.
- 59:09Well, Barbossa was acting up, like, in a normal
- 59:12way, though. He was yelling shit and, like, insulting
- 59:16people. But, I mean, Tio came in full crazy.
- 59:21It was madness. Excellent. Yeah, well, everybody's
- 59:27debating. So full crazy usually means Tio's going
- 59:32to fight well, but his opponent isn't that good.
- 59:35So mid opponents means Tio fights like shit.
- 59:38Oh, so which one do we get? The mapping is difficult
- 59:43on this one. So, I don't know. I think if Barbossa
- 59:47beats Tio, his career might be done. For his
- 59:52sake? If he's going to continue to let his shit
- 59:55go unchecked like that, then yeah, it should
- 59:59be. And hopefully he'll get the help he needs.
- 1:00:03Yeah, I mean, I guess I shouldn't be laughing
- 1:00:05at T .O., but man, no shirt under the vest. Yelling,
- 1:00:12look at my dick. It's hilarious. That's like
- 1:00:17classic manic episode behavior. Yeah. you should
- 1:00:26go check out i think i will i think i'll have
- 1:00:27to check it out now it was kind of funny i listened
- 1:00:31to it at work and i was like because somebody
- 1:00:34said teo went crazy and i was like okay but like
- 1:00:37can i have the video and listen on headphones
- 1:00:40and not get in trouble at work and they're like
- 1:00:42i don't know teo's running around with no shirt
- 1:00:45on like swinging a sword well you watch fights
- 1:00:49with all the time don't you Yeah, and then somebody
- 1:00:54asked me why I was always watching half -naked
- 1:00:56men at work. I didn't tell you this? Yeah, you
- 1:00:59did. I thought, like, it's boxing. That's what
- 1:01:02they do. Yeah. That's how it is. My boss doesn't
- 1:01:07seem to care, but the girl beside me, I had to
- 1:01:10explain that it was a sport and not just me watching
- 1:01:13half -naked men. Which, if you were, like, mind
- 1:01:16your own fucking business. Yeah, pretty much.
- 1:01:20Living in Japan, my Instagram has been slowly
- 1:01:24infested with the Asian thirst traps. And I'm
- 1:01:27not mad about it. Some of those videos are fucking
- 1:01:31impressive. What those guys will do to get clicks.
- 1:01:36Like there was one guy, ripped ass Asian dude
- 1:01:40with no shirt on, riding a horse, shooting arrows
- 1:01:44in slow motion. And I was like, yes. This is
- 1:01:47what Instagram was made for. Yeah. That is objectively
- 1:01:51really cool. Yeah. Yeah. And then they do, like,
- 1:01:56back shots so you can see all the muscles pull
- 1:01:58the bow. I was like, yes. I will like this and
- 1:02:02interact with it so I get more of this. Yeah.
- 1:02:08Well, that's going to do it for the side piece.
- 1:02:11Oh, yeah. Are we sticking with that name? Yeah,
- 1:02:14I guess, until something better comes up. Okay,
- 1:02:17so I was thinking very hard. The only thing,
- 1:02:21and the reference is even older, so probably
- 1:02:23not going to work, but do you remember HBO Boxing
- 1:02:26After Dark? Yeah. It's where the Gaddy vs. Ward
- 1:02:32fights were broadcast. Yeah. So for me, it doesn't
- 1:02:38work for you, but for me, we record at like 9
- 1:02:42a .m. so besides boxing before brunch and it's
- 1:02:49not dark for me either so okay yeah boxing before
- 1:02:54dark even that that might work boxing before
- 1:02:57dark uh i mean boxing after dark looking at it
- 1:03:04looks like it's available I think Before Dark
- 1:03:07is funnier, though. Yeah. Actually, let me check
- 1:03:12that one just to be sure. Nope. Nope, it's not.
- 1:03:17All right, Boxing Before Dark. That's what we're
- 1:03:19going with. If you want to change it from Side
- 1:03:23Piece. I still think Side Piece is funny, but...
- 1:03:25It's, um... It's fine. It's just, like, finding
- 1:03:33a... Like, I have the Pauly Malignaggi video
- 1:03:36that I can put into the intro. Yeah. If I were
- 1:03:41to do boxing before dark. We'd have to record
- 1:03:45our own. I'd have to make up. I'd have to find
- 1:03:49something. I've also been thinking of, like,
- 1:03:52what kind of graphic do I want? Oh, yeah. Side
- 1:03:55piece graphic could be scandalous. I was thinking,
- 1:03:59honestly. Ring girls? No, pastel color, saved
- 1:04:04by the bell, sort of late 80s, early 90s type
- 1:04:08of radical graphics. Nice. So I was thinking
- 1:04:14that. Fair, yeah. I don't know. If anybody has
- 1:04:21any suggestions, they should hit up the Boxing
- 1:04:25B -Sides hotline. For sure. I am open to all
- 1:04:29of the suggestions. All right. I listened to
- 1:04:35the first one we recorded, and I do like the
- 1:04:40intro, the side piece intro. Yeah, it is pretty
- 1:04:42good. You know, we could keep the side piece
- 1:04:44intro and then still call ourselves Boxing Before
- 1:04:48Dark. That's true. And we could call ourselves
- 1:04:50Boxing Side Piece as well. Call ourselves whatever
- 1:04:53the fuck we want. Yeah, fuck it. Side piece before
- 1:04:57dark? We have nicknames. The before dark, yeah,
- 1:05:02the order is important there because the before
- 1:05:04dark side piece just sounds cheap. Before dark
- 1:05:08side piece? Side piece before dark? Yeah, the
- 1:05:11side piece that you see before it gets dark and
- 1:05:14you go see your real side piece. The like third
- 1:05:17side piece that isn't important enough. The Tuesday
- 1:05:22afternoon side piece. Not the A squad. the b
- 1:05:29squad hey all right we are out of here
