- 0:01Speaker 1: We had to fix it and rebuild public trust. One
- 0:04Speaker 1: of the ways to do it is these cases of
- 0:05Speaker 1: significant public interest that matter. You know, we had two
- 0:08Speaker 1: pipe bombs planted on January sixth, the cocaine in the
- 0:11Speaker 1: White House. Potentially hazardous material made its way into the
- 0:14Speaker 1: White House. Nobody seems to know how it got there,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and nobody seemed to investigate it fully, like you know,
- 0:19Speaker 1: what planet do we live on? Well, that's not a
- 0:20Speaker 1: public interest.
- 0:21Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Good Friday morning. Welcome, it is the forty seven Morning Update,
- 0:28Speaker 3: and a quick reminder, if you've not hit that subscribe
- 0:31Speaker 3: button to this podcast, make sure you do that now
- 0:34Speaker 3: so you do not miss a single day. First up,
- 0:37Speaker 3: Donald Trump's tariffs are back in effect after an appeals
- 0:41Speaker 3: court ruling. The White House fighting back and explaining exactly
- 0:45Speaker 3: how they got this big victory which will protect American
- 0:49Speaker 3: manufacturing and American workers. Up next, the FBI Deputy Director
- 0:54Speaker 3: Dan Bongino blowing the whistle, saying now the Bureau is
- 0:57Speaker 3: working to declassify a true documents from the James Comy
- 1:02Speaker 3: era that were intentionally hidden from the new leadership that
- 1:06Speaker 3: in just a second, and finally, RFK Junior's Health in
- 1:11Speaker 3: Human Services has canceled Maderna's seven hundred and sixty six
- 1:16Speaker 3: million dollar vaccine contract line. They say the technology actually
- 1:22Speaker 3: may not be safe for you at all. It's the
- 1:25Speaker 3: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Donald Trump's tariffs are back in effect after an appeals
- 1:34Speaker 3: court victory. The Appeals Court on Thursday stayed the ruling
- 1:39Speaker 3: of the US Court of International Trade that came in
- 1:42Speaker 3: to block President Donald Trump's Liberation Day tariffs, meaning the
- 1:47Speaker 3: tariffs are back in effect. The US Court of International
- 1:51Speaker 3: Trade issued an injunction on Wednesday night late, ruling that
- 1:56Speaker 3: President Donald Trump's Liberation Day tariffs were quote illegal. Well,
- 2:00Speaker 3: guess what. The White House and Donald Trump weren't having
- 2:03Speaker 3: any of it, and they filed the motion to stay
- 2:06Speaker 3: the ruling, and the tariffs were reinstated Thursday afternoon, the
- 2:11Speaker 3: White House Press Secretary lining up the courts and the
- 2:15Speaker 3: activist judges involved, saying this from the White House, the.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Trump administration faced another example of judicial overreach. Using his
- 2:24Speaker 4: full and proper legal authority, President Trump imposed universal tariffs
- 2:29Speaker 4: and reciprocal tariffs on Liberation Day to address the extraordinary
- 2:33Speaker 4: threat to our national security and economy posed by large
- 2:37Speaker 4: and persistent annual US goods trade deficits. The United States
- 2:42Speaker 4: has run a trade deficit of goods every year since
- 2:44Speaker 4: nineteen seventy five. In twenty twenty four, our trade deficit
- 2:48Speaker 4: in goods exceeded one trillion dollars. Everybody agrees this is unacceptable.
- 2:55Speaker 4: President Trump is delivering on his promise to fix this problem,
- 3:00Speaker 4: and he has taken a long overdue and much needed,
- 3:02Speaker 4: bold stance for American workers after decades of our manufacturing
- 3:07Speaker 4: base being hollowed out. The President's rationale for imposing these
- 3:12Speaker 4: powerful tariffs was legally sound and grounded in common sense.
- 3:16Speaker 4: President Trump correctly believes that America cannot function safely long
- 3:20Speaker 4: term if we are unable to scale advanced domestic manufacturing capacity,
- 3:25Speaker 4: have our own secure critical supply chains, and our defense
- 3:28Speaker 4: industrial base is dependent on foreign adversaries. Three judges of
- 3:33Speaker 4: the US Court of International Trade disagreed and brazenly abused
- 3:36Speaker 4: their judicial power to usurp the authority of President Trump
- 3:40Speaker 4: to stop him from carrying out the mandate that the
- 3:42Speaker 4: American people gave him. These judges failed to acknowledge that
- 3:45Speaker 4: the President of the United States has core foreign affairs
- 3:48Speaker 4: powers and authority given to him by Congress to protect
- 3:51Speaker 4: the United States economy and national security. Congress had created
- 3:56Speaker 4: the National Emergency Act to provide the congressional framework to
- 3:59Speaker 4: strike down a proper iepa use, and any questions over
- 4:02Speaker 4: whether President Trump improperly imposed these iepa tariffs were already
- 4:06Speaker 4: adjudicated in Congress. Following Liberation Day, Congress firmly rejected an
- 4:11Speaker 4: effort led by Senator Ran Paul and Democrats to terminate
- 4:14Speaker 4: the president's reciprocal tariffs. The courts should have no role here.
- 4:18Speaker 4: There is a troubling and dangerous trend of unelected judges
- 4:21Speaker 4: inserting themselves into the presidential decision making process. America cannot
- 4:25Speaker 4: function if President Trump, or any other president for that matter,
- 4:29Speaker 4: has their sensitive diplomatic or trade negotiations railroaded by activist judges.
- 4:34Speaker 4: President Trump is in the process of rebalancing America's trading
- 4:37Speaker 4: agreements with the entire world, bringing tens of billions of
- 4:41Speaker 4: dollars in tariff revenues to our country, and finally ending
- 4:44Speaker 4: the United States of America from being ripped off These
- 4:48Speaker 4: judges are threatening to undermine the credibility of the United
- 4:51Speaker 4: States on the world stage. The Administration has already filed
- 4:54Speaker 4: an emergency motion for a stay pending appeal and an
- 4:57Speaker 4: immediate administrative stay to strike down this degreeious to stay vision.
- 5:00Speaker 4: But ultimately the Supreme Court must put an end to
- 5:03Speaker 4: this for the sake of our constitution in our country.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Now, the White House wasn't done there. The Treasury Secretary
- 5:10Speaker 3: coming out saying this about the judges meddling in Donald
- 5:13Speaker 3: Trump's tariffs.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Well, britt it seems highly inappropriate for the judiciary to
- 5:19Speaker 5: weigh it in here when the Senate had the opportunity
- 5:23Speaker 5: to override the president and didn't. So, you know, in
- 5:27Speaker 5: terms of separation of powers, the Senate has chosen not
- 5:30Speaker 5: to exercise their powers, and the President absolutely has the
- 5:37Speaker 5: right to set the trade agenda for the US. We
- 5:41Speaker 5: are this administration is committed to fair trade and we
- 5:47Speaker 5: are striking the best deals for the American people, and
- 5:50Speaker 5: anything that the courts do to get in the way,
- 5:53Speaker 5: they both harms the American people in terms of trade
- 5:56Speaker 5: and in terms of tariff revenue.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Very clearly, the courts are trying to meddle in the
- 6:02Speaker 3: president's job and the White House continuing to fight back
- 6:05Speaker 3: and win on this issue.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Next story number two.
- 6:09Speaker 3: You can follow this next story under the category of
- 6:11Speaker 3: you don't hate the deep State enough and exactly what
- 6:15Speaker 3: they've been hiding from you. The FBI Deputy Director Dan
- 6:19Speaker 3: Bongino has announced the discovery of a previously undisclosed room
- 6:24Speaker 3: at the FBI headquarters containing a trove of documents from
- 6:30Speaker 3: former Director James Comy's tenure. Bongino described the room as
- 6:36Speaker 3: quote hidden from us, and noted that many of the
- 6:40Speaker 3: materials were not processed through standard FBI procedures, such as
- 6:46Speaker 3: digitization or proper cataloging. Some documents were reportedly found stored
- 6:52Speaker 3: in bags, raising concerns about potential mishandling of evidence during
- 6:58Speaker 3: Comy's tenure. Ban Gino also emphasized the FBI's commitment to transparency,
- 7:06Speaker 3: stating that efforts are now underway to de classify these materials.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Here is more James Comy talking about all of this
- 7:15Speaker 3: on Fox and Friends.
- 7:16Speaker 1: As of Jim Comy, because he cannot control himself and
- 7:20Speaker 1: his emotions, he is a child, he is a big child.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Then let me tell you one more thing. Jim Comey
- 7:25Speaker 1: who wants you to Jim Comy taking a shot at
- 7:28Speaker 1: the president. Oh look at me, I'm such a victim.
- 7:29Speaker 1: The President's going after me. He's making a ton of
- 7:32Speaker 1: money on this book. The only person that got prosecuted
- 7:35Speaker 1: was the president. Jim Comy. We're finding stuff even now,
- 7:39Speaker 1: wait till you read the stuff that's coming out.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Does he still have loyalists in the building, Because when
- 7:44Speaker 5: I hear the FBI director saying, you guys are finding boxes.
- 7:48Speaker 2: That are hidden. Okay, how does that happen in the bureau?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Well, we were there a couple of weeks and luckily
- 7:57Speaker 1: there are a lot of people up there who this
- 8:00Speaker 1: by the arm the mid we came in and said,
- 8:02Speaker 1: thank you for being here. You know, we need to talk.
- 8:05Speaker 1: There are people there who are really horrified at what happened.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And there was a room and we found stuff, a
- 8:13Speaker 1: lot of stuff hidden room. I wouldn't call it hidden,
- 8:16Speaker 1: but hidden from us at least and not mentioned to us.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And then we found stuff in there, and a lot
- 8:21Speaker 1: of it's from the Komi era. And we are working
- 8:24Speaker 1: our damn this right now to declassifying. Just so you know,
- 8:27Speaker 1: because I get the public, I totally understand people saying
- 8:30Speaker 1: we'll do it. Now, the process is not. All the
- 8:32Speaker 1: information is ours to the classify some as other intelligence agencies,
- 8:36Speaker 1: it's not. We literally can't do it. Once that gets
- 8:39Speaker 1: done and that gets out there and you read some
- 8:41Speaker 1: of the stuff we found that, by the way, was
- 8:43Speaker 1: not processed through the normal procedure digitizing it, putting in
- 8:46Speaker 1: FBI records. We found it in bags hiding under Jim call. Yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you're going to be stunned.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Now, there's one thing that Dan Bongino made very clear.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It is a process that he wants to be transparent
- 8:59Speaker 3: with the American piece, and the declassification of these materials
- 9:03Speaker 3: is underway. He as you heard him say, it's complex
- 9:06Speaker 3: because many of these issues involve other intelligence agencies and
- 9:11Speaker 3: the FBI does not have the right to classify their intelligence. Now,
- 9:16Speaker 3: I also assure you that once the appropriate processes are completed,
- 9:21Speaker 3: the findings will be shared, and he anticipates that the
- 9:25Speaker 3: revelations will be quote significant.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Now.
- 9:28Speaker 3: This development also aligns with broader insues by the current
- 9:31Speaker 3: FBI leadership, including the Director Cash Mattel, to revisit and
- 9:36Speaker 3: bring transparency to past investigations. These efforts encompass re examining
- 9:42Speaker 3: high profile cases such as the January sixth pipe bombs,
- 9:46Speaker 3: the twenty twenty two dob Supreme Court leak, and the
- 9:50Speaker 3: twenty twenty three discovery of cocaine at the White House. Now,
- 9:54Speaker 3: the actions from the FBI now reflect a renewed focus
- 9:58Speaker 3: on accountability and res storing public trust in the FBI.
- 10:03Speaker 3: The agency's provocative steps to uncover and address pass oversights
- 10:07Speaker 3: demonstrate a commitment to upholding the integrity of their operations,
- 10:13Speaker 3: something that Donald Trump promised every American if he was
- 10:16Speaker 3: re elected, and he's making good on that promise.
- 10:19Speaker 2: And here is story number three.
- 10:21Speaker 3: There's no other way to describe it but a major
- 10:23Speaker 3: victory for American taxpayers. The US Department of Health and
- 10:26Speaker 3: Human Services under Secretary RFK. Junior, has canceled a seven
- 10:32Speaker 3: hundred and sixty six million dollar contract with Maderna that
- 10:36Speaker 3: was intended to fund the development of an mRNA base
- 10:42Speaker 3: vaccine targeting pandemic influenza viruses, including the H five in
- 10:48Speaker 3: one bird flu The funding, awarded through the Biomedical Advanced
- 10:52Speaker 3: Research and Development Authority known as BARDA, comprised one hundred
- 10:57Speaker 3: and seventy six million granted and live of twenty twenty
- 11:01Speaker 3: four and five hundred and ninety million in January of
- 11:04Speaker 3: twenty twenty five. The cancelation occurred despite Madernay reporting positive
- 11:08Speaker 3: interim results from early stage trials involving three hundred healthy adults,
- 11:14Speaker 3: which demonstrated they claimed a robust immune response and favorable
- 11:18Speaker 3: safety profile. That's obviously coming from the company. Well, when
- 11:24Speaker 3: the announcement came through, this is what it sounded like
- 11:27Speaker 3: on MSNBC.
- 11:29Speaker 6: Administration has canceled a contract with Maderna for the development
- 11:34Speaker 6: of a bird flu vaccine for humans or Angelica peebles
- 11:39Speaker 6: joins us now with more and you could conjecture a
- 11:43Speaker 6: lot of things about this between RFK Junior and Vaccines
- 11:48Speaker 6: and mRNA. What's behind all this?
- 11:51Speaker 7: Yeah, good morning, Joe. So this is just the latest
- 11:54Speaker 7: in a string of events that we've seen related to
- 11:57Speaker 7: COVID vaccines over the last week. And what's happening here
- 12:00Speaker 7: is that the Trump administration is canceling a more than
- 12:03Speaker 7: seven hundred million dollar contract with Maderna to develop a
- 12:07Speaker 7: bird flu vaccine and other pre pandemic influenza viruses. And
- 12:11Speaker 7: so what's really notable about this is that obviously we've
- 12:13Speaker 7: seen this you know, we've seen bird flu tearing through
- 12:16Speaker 7: birds and also dairy cows and the risk to humans,
- 12:20Speaker 7: and so what we saw on the Biden administration is
- 12:23Speaker 7: that they really ramped up this work and they were
- 12:25Speaker 7: helping to fund They were going to fund a phase
- 12:27Speaker 7: through trial to see if we could use mRNA for
- 12:30Speaker 7: a bird flu vaccine if it indeed spills over to humans.
- 12:34Speaker 7: And now the cancelation of this vaccine is quite a surprise.
- 12:38Speaker 7: Maybe not a surprise now because we had been hearing
- 12:41Speaker 7: rumblings about this for the past few months. But you know,
- 12:43Speaker 7: we just saw this this contract ramp up right before
- 12:47Speaker 7: the last administration left, and now you have the Trump
- 12:49Speaker 7: administration saying that they felt like, after a rigorous review,
- 12:53Speaker 7: we concluded that the continued investment in Maderna's H five
- 12:56Speaker 7: and one mRNA vaccine was not scientifically or justifiable. And
- 13:01Speaker 7: they're saying that it's not just about efficacy, it's about safety,
- 13:04Speaker 7: and so it's interesting to hear them really casting doubt
- 13:07Speaker 7: on just the safety and the efficacy of mRNA vaccines
- 13:11Speaker 7: as a whole.
- 13:12Speaker 3: You go back to what the HHS official stated in
- 13:15Speaker 3: that decision, and you would think the media would have
- 13:18Speaker 3: spent more time on this, saying following a comprehensive review,
- 13:23Speaker 3: they concluded that continued investment in Maderna's H five N
- 13:28Speaker 3: one and mr NA vaccine was not scientifically or ethically justifiable. Now,
- 13:37Speaker 3: concerns were raised about the safety and testing rigor of
- 13:40Speaker 3: the mr NA technology, and the HHS emphasized the need
- 13:45Speaker 3: for safety number one, integrity number two, and public trust
- 13:50Speaker 3: in medical advancement, something that had all disappeared because of
- 13:54Speaker 3: the quote COVID vaccine. Remember when they promised you if
- 13:58Speaker 3: you got it, you're going to stop the spread and
- 14:00Speaker 3: you didn't have to worry about getting COVID nineteen. Well
- 14:04Speaker 3: that never happened, and we all know we were lied to. Now.
- 14:07Speaker 3: This move also aligns with Secretary Kennedy's long standing skepticism
- 14:11Speaker 3: towards mr NA vaccines. Since assuming his roll in February,
- 14:16Speaker 3: Kennedy has inputted several policy changes reflecting those views, including
- 14:21Speaker 3: rolling back COVID nineteen vaccine recommendations, as we mentioned yesterday,
- 14:25Speaker 3: for healthy children and pregnant women, something that's been celebrated
- 14:30Speaker 3: by quite a few Americans. Now, to be clear, no
- 14:35Speaker 3: one has banned vaccines. This is going back to giving
- 14:39Speaker 3: you the choice and a choice that many Americans had
- 14:43Speaker 3: taken away from them during the COVID lockdowns.
