- 0:01Speaker 1: I think it's fair to say the Democrats, and I'm
- 0:03Speaker 1: talking about those that are elected, are officially as unhinged
- 0:08Speaker 1: as the radical extremists in their party, those that are
- 0:12Speaker 1: out there that are unhinged fighting against ice agents for example.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Why would I say that, Well, let's just look at
- 0:19Speaker 1: the list of unhinged things Democrats have been doing. You know,
- 0:22Speaker 1: just over the last couple of weeks, they shut down
- 0:24Speaker 1: the government, leaving federal workers unpaid, to then demand free
- 0:30Speaker 1: health care to illegal immigrants, and now they've decided to
- 0:35Speaker 1: become even more unhinged. Democratic congress people gathering together with
- 0:42Speaker 1: local leaders in Los Angeles, and what do they say
- 0:46Speaker 1: they're doing now, Well, this is what they're doing about
- 0:50Speaker 1: ice agents being in LA.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I share this with the mayor.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Over the course of the next couple of weeks, the
- 0:56Speaker 3: Oversight Committee will be launching on their website a mass
- 1:00Speaker 3: sure ice tracker where we can We're going to be
- 1:04Speaker 3: essentially tracking every single instance that we can verify thats
- 1:08Speaker 3: the community will send, you will send us information.
- 1:10Speaker 4: On that is.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House
- 1:16Speaker 1: Oversight Committee, just announced that the committee's Democrats are creating
- 1:22Speaker 1: with your tax dours a master ICE tracker and they
- 1:26Speaker 1: will be placing it on their website to docks ICE agents.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Now you have to ask yourself this question, how dangerous
- 1:36Speaker 1: is this? All right, well, let me just give you
- 1:39Speaker 1: a documented timeline of notable and I want to be clear,
- 1:43Speaker 1: this is not all of them. This is just some
- 1:44Speaker 1: of the notable instances where ICE agents and offices have
- 1:48Speaker 1: been attacked ICE personnel or docks their personal info posts online.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Explicit threats were made towards agents as well, in several
- 1:57Speaker 1: cases even their families. And it is not literally every
- 2:01Speaker 1: single case nationwide. But what it does is I'm giving
- 2:05Speaker 1: you a example, a snapshot of just what ICE agents
- 2:10Speaker 1: are dealing with.
- 2:11Speaker 4: In fact, I'm going to go back all.
- 2:13Speaker 1: The way to June of twenty eighteen, the Department of
- 2:16Speaker 1: Homeland Security put out an alert about threats to employees
- 2:21Speaker 1: amid the family separation furor that was going on by
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Democrats there claims that these families were getting separated.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It was actually a policy that was put into place
- 2:32Speaker 1: by Barack Obama. No one was outraged then, by the way,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Department of Owned Security war in its workforce of
- 2:39Speaker 1: a quote heightened threat environment targeting homeland security personnel, which
- 2:45Speaker 1: includes ICE agents that coming from CBS News. Fast forward
- 2:49Speaker 1: to June nineteenth to the twenty second of that month,
- 2:54Speaker 1: mass docsing of ICE employees online.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Again. This is back in twenty eighteen.
- 3:00Speaker 1: The New York based artist scraped the work site LinkedIn
- 3:04Speaker 1: to compile and publish a data set of one thousand,
- 3:09Speaker 1: six hundred plus people who had listed ICE as their employer. Medium,
- 3:16Speaker 1: GitHub and Twitter remove the posts for violating anti doxing rules.
- 3:21Speaker 1: The list, with names, photos and titles was widely circulated,
- 3:26Speaker 1: including via an Antifa channel, and that's when the threats
- 3:30Speaker 1: got real against sixteen one hundred plus ICE employees. In
- 3:35Speaker 1: June of the same month, Occupy Ice protests surrounded ICE facilities.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Again.
- 3:42Speaker 1: This is back in twenty eighteen. In Portland, Oregon and elsewhere.
- 3:47Speaker 1: There were sustained blockades at the Portland ICE building that
- 3:50Speaker 1: prompted repeat law enforcement responses and major safety concerns. While
- 3:55Speaker 1: much of the activity was quote protests, officers documented heraunds,
- 4:00Speaker 1: thrown objects, and vandalisms around their workplace. You go to
- 4:05Speaker 1: the very next year, July thirteenth of twenty nineteen.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Remember we're in twenty twenty five.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Right now, this is how long the harassment has been
- 4:13Speaker 1: building and the doxing of ICE agents by the left.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You had an actual firebomb attack on ICE Attention Center Intocoma, Washington.
- 4:23Speaker 1: An armed attacker through insidiary devices and tried to ignite
- 4:28Speaker 1: a propane tank at the Northwest Attention Center. Police were
- 4:32Speaker 1: forced to shoot him. No officers in that attack were
- 4:36Speaker 1: actually injured. In August, a month later in twenty nineteen,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you had shots fired into ICE offices in San Antonio, Texas.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Multiple rounds were fired into ICE office windows. The FBI
- 4:50Speaker 1: called it a targeted attack on federal employees.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Thank goodness, no injuries were reported.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Then in June through septeb of twenty twenty five, so
- 5:02Speaker 1: you can move forward basically five and a half years,
- 5:05Speaker 1: masking policy debates were then tied to doxing threats. Following
- 5:10Speaker 1: a rise in doxing and harassment, more ICE teams conducted
- 5:14Speaker 1: operations wearing masks wine because they were trying to protect
- 5:18Speaker 1: their identity from this type of harassment and not just harassment,
- 5:22Speaker 1: putting their lives at risk. The worst part was in
- 5:26Speaker 1: the reporting is liberals acted as if it was okay
- 5:29Speaker 1: to docks and advocated for it, saying these individuals were
- 5:32Speaker 1: acting like they were Nazis, the Gestapo, and they deserved
- 5:36Speaker 1: what they got. You then go to June and July
- 5:40Speaker 1: of this year in Portland, Oregon, at an ICE facility,
- 5:44Speaker 1: you had vandalism, threats made and doxing reports as well.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Local police and DHS public statements described the arrests for vandalism,
- 5:53Speaker 1: including death threats, graffiti outside the building, and efforts to
- 5:57Speaker 1: publish the ice officers personal infameo. One officer even reported
- 6:02Speaker 1: threatening trash dumped on their lawn with his children at home.
- 6:07Speaker 1: In September of this year, you then had in Dallas, Texas,
- 6:11Speaker 1: the ICE facility that was ambushed, attacked on transport vans
- 6:16Speaker 1: and buildings.
- 6:17Speaker 4: The FBI and the Dallas.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Area authorities say the gunman, Joshua John, carried out a
- 6:24Speaker 1: planned ambush style attack aimed specifically at killing ICE agents.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Shots actually struck the transport vehicles and office windows. Federal
- 6:35Speaker 1: briefings em beside the attacker's explicit anti ICE intent. In
- 6:40Speaker 1: September this year as well, Dallas case details also came out,
- 6:45Speaker 1: and the AP reported the same week describing a rooftop
- 6:49Speaker 1: shooter targeting an ICE Dallas site, noting a detainee was
- 6:54Speaker 1: killed and others injured. Investigator said he intended to terrorize ICE.
- 6:59Speaker 1: This compliment the FBI's accounts and motive of targeting in September.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Later that month, the twenty sixth through the twenty ninth,
- 7:07Speaker 1: there was a federal indictment for doxing of ICE agents.
- 7:10Speaker 4: In Los Angeles, California.
- 7:12Speaker 1: A federal grand jury was forced to charge three radical
- 7:17Speaker 1: activists of the left who allegedly followed an ICE agent
- 7:21Speaker 1: from work to home, live streamed him, and posted his
- 7:25Speaker 1: home address while urging others to come to the location.
- 7:29Speaker 1: The DOJ and the PBS slash ap coverage underscored the
- 7:35Speaker 1: risk to the agent and his family, And then you
- 7:38Speaker 1: look at the arrests urging swatting of an ICE attorney.
- 7:43Speaker 1: This happening in September of this year. ICE reported the
- 7:47Speaker 1: arrest of a California man who's accused of posting an
- 7:51Speaker 1: ICE attorney's home address and encouraging others to quote swat her,
- 7:56Speaker 1: an attack tactic that explicitly endangers the attorney in the
- 8:00Speaker 1: family members and terrorizes them at their home.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Residents.
- 8:04Speaker 1: The scary part is this isn't all that has happened
- 8:07Speaker 1: to our ICE agents while Democrats are upping the Anne
- 8:11Speaker 1: and now saying they want to launch a master ICE
- 8:14Speaker 1: tracking site. Now, as I mentioned a moment ago, these
- 8:19Speaker 1: are just some of the horrific attacks and events that
- 8:23Speaker 1: have been happening since twenty eighteen against ICE agents because
- 8:29Speaker 1: of the radical Left. You go to October of this year,
- 8:33Speaker 1: the Department of Homeland Security had to issue public warnings
- 8:38Speaker 1: on dosing and assaults against ICE and other Department of
- 8:42Speaker 1: Homeland Security personnel. The number of attacks on ICE agents
- 8:46Speaker 1: have gone up more than a thousand percent because of
- 8:50Speaker 1: the Left implying that it is justifiable to attack, beat,
- 8:56Speaker 1: or even murder ICE agents. The Department of Homeland Security
- 9:00Speaker 1: he was forced to issue statements not only condemning the
- 9:03Speaker 1: massive surgeon dangerous boxing, but also stalking and family targeted
- 9:09Speaker 1: harassment of ICE and Border Patrol agents. They were even
- 9:13Speaker 1: going after their children, including newborns. All of this highlights
- 9:19Speaker 1: exactly what is happening now because of the radical Left,
- 9:23Speaker 1: whether it's live streaming and following the agents, threats against
- 9:27Speaker 1: their families, putting their addresses up there, going after them.
- 9:31Speaker 4: But even if you bring this up.
- 9:33Speaker 1: What's even more shocking is how the left is fighting
- 9:37Speaker 1: back on it. I was on CNN just the other
- 9:40Speaker 1: day and meta known as Facebook removed a page tracking
- 9:44Speaker 1: ICE movements amid DOJ pressure, and they lost their ever
- 9:49Speaker 1: loving minds on CNN when I talked about just how
- 9:53Speaker 1: dangerous these pages are, and they were implying that they
- 9:56Speaker 1: needed to stay up. I want you to listen to
- 9:59Speaker 1: the liberal panel at CNN coming after me for demanding
- 10:03Speaker 1: the ICE agents be protected. If there's a police officer
- 10:09Speaker 1: or an ICE agent whose picture is put up in
- 10:11Speaker 1: a group chat on Facebook that is about ICE and
- 10:14Speaker 1: it says, let's expose this person.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Somebody tell me who he is, where he lives.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Okay, I'm gonna be real with you.
- 10:21Speaker 4: I think that's not docs.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's definitely you don't think that that's the.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Dosing is when you actually pay somebody's personal identifiable information
- 10:28Speaker 5: p i I, which is an email phone number, or
- 10:31Speaker 5: I'm not saying that what you're saying.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Isn't that I'm saying it's dangerous.
- 10:34Speaker 5: I'm not saying it doesn't.
- 10:35Speaker 4: It's not.
- 10:36Speaker 5: When it comes to these policies.
- 10:43Speaker 6: Is not up to you, and not to mention that
- 10:45Speaker 6: was not a subjective definition.
- 10:47Speaker 4: If somebody and that's why I'm defending it. This is wrong.
- 10:53Speaker 6: And just one second, and just give me one second. Okay.
- 10:57Speaker 6: I have been doxed, I have had my personal identifying
- 11:01Speaker 6: information put on the internet. I've had my family's address.
- 11:05Speaker 6: They don't they don't work here at CNN. I put
- 11:07Speaker 6: on the internet. That is not a crime. It's not
- 11:10Speaker 6: a crime. And I'm asking you if you want the
- 11:14Speaker 6: government to be in a position where anytime that somebody
- 11:17Speaker 6: posts a picture, an address, public information, by the way
- 11:21Speaker 6: of people who are in law enforcement positions, they that
- 11:25Speaker 6: that information gets taken down. That's really the standard that
- 11:29Speaker 6: you want to set.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I will say this, if there was a page on
- 11:31Speaker 1: Facebook tonight that decided to put out all of our
- 11:34Speaker 1: family's information and let's go after these people in media
- 11:37Speaker 1: in a clear way of a threat to any of
- 11:39Speaker 1: our lives, I would.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Say that I would be taken I don't think that makes.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Me think that from a normative perspective. From a normative perspective,
- 11:49Speaker 6: sure we would all want that taken down. But the
- 11:52Speaker 6: question is what should the government be doing. And I
- 11:54Speaker 6: think that you've taken a stand against the government being
- 11:57Speaker 6: involved in taking down COVID misinformation or what you I
- 12:00Speaker 6: just it was outrage.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Then was going on, you're covering it.
- 12:06Speaker 6: There's a fun I don't understand how you can do that.
- 12:09Speaker 1: You condemn it was Meta and Google that he was pressuring,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and we were definitely.
- 12:19Speaker 6: Let me just answer your question, Kristen, and then we
- 12:21Speaker 6: have to go to answer your question. I'll read again.
- 12:23Speaker 6: This is Pam Bondi's tweet. She says, following outreach from
- 12:27Speaker 6: the Justice Department.
- 12:28Speaker 1: You listen to all that and it's very clear that
- 12:31Speaker 1: the left has no problem harassing and doxing ICE agents.
- 12:36Speaker 4: And by the way, now.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It has become the official line of the Democratic Party.
- 12:44Speaker 1: The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Robert Garcia,
- 12:48Speaker 1: in his own words, telling you that your tax hours
- 12:52Speaker 1: will be used to have an ICE tracker to track
- 12:56Speaker 1: and dox these agents.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Couple of weeks, the Oversight Committee will be launching on
- 13:02Speaker 3: their website a master ICE tracker where we can We're
- 13:07Speaker 3: going to be essentially tracking every single instance that we
- 13:10Speaker 3: can verify that the community will send you able to
- 13:13Speaker 3: send us information on.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Now, let's just talk about why they want to do this.
- 13:18Speaker 1: What would be the logic behind having a ICE tracker
- 13:22Speaker 1: officially put together by the Democratic Party. Number one, I
- 13:27Speaker 1: think it's because they want to put a very clear
- 13:30Speaker 1: target on the federal agents. They want them to be
- 13:34Speaker 1: terrified of actually doing their job. The other thing is
- 13:40Speaker 1: they want to endanger their lives. And if there are
- 13:44Speaker 1: other ICE agents that are targeted or shot or murdered,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think they believe that will help keep more illegal
- 13:52Speaker 1: immigrants in this country. I think there's no doubt about that.
- 13:58Speaker 1: This is not only putting a clear target on the
- 14:00Speaker 1: federal agents, but it is endangering their lives. It is
- 14:04Speaker 1: also an obstruction of justice, which is the other part
- 14:09Speaker 1: of this what Democrats have been advocating for with the
- 14:13Speaker 1: open borders. The entire policy of the Democratic Party is
- 14:18Speaker 1: they want to get around American laws, and now as
- 14:22Speaker 1: laws are being enforced, they want to obstruct that justice
- 14:26Speaker 1: by making it even harder, if not almost impossible. That
- 14:31Speaker 1: is their goal here, for Republicans to be able to
- 14:36Speaker 1: use the law enforcement to enforce law and order in America. Remember,
- 14:43Speaker 1: Donald Trump isn't passing new laws on immigration, He's just
- 14:48Speaker 1: enforcing the laws that are already on the books. And
- 14:52Speaker 1: what Democrats have decided is we don't have to abide
- 14:56Speaker 1: by the laws of the land. We can decide when
- 15:00Speaker 1: we want to use laws and when we want to
- 15:02Speaker 1: break them, when we want to look the other way.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Look no further than that moment.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And I want you to think about the Democratic Party
- 15:11Speaker 1: where they attacked a man that was on a horse
- 15:15Speaker 1: they then claimed was whipping an illegal immigrant. Now, the
- 15:19Speaker 1: picture was a picture that was taken where you couldn't
- 15:22Speaker 1: see the context of them actually using the reins of
- 15:26Speaker 1: a horse to move the horse. There was other pictures
- 15:30Speaker 1: that came out that reinforced this. But did Democrats apologize. Know,
- 15:35Speaker 1: they wanted to demonize border patrol agents that were on horseback.
- 15:40Speaker 1: They wanted them to turn them into racists, and they
- 15:43Speaker 1: wanted to put their lives at risk. This isn't just
- 15:47Speaker 1: a pattern, This is now the playbook of the Democratic Party.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Anybody they don't like, including presidents or former presidents or
- 15:58Speaker 1: their staff members, they want to lock them up, They
- 16:01Speaker 1: want to bankrupt them, they want to put them in jail,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and if that doesn't work, they want them dead. Why
- 16:07Speaker 1: do you think they keep referring to conservatives as Hitler's
- 16:10Speaker 1: and Nazis? Why do you think they keep saying that
- 16:13Speaker 1: we are fascists? Why do you think they keep having
- 16:16Speaker 1: rallies that are paid for by democratic elites like the
- 16:19Speaker 1: No King's Day.
- 16:22Speaker 4: All of this.
- 16:23Speaker 1: That I just described for you is well planned out,
- 16:26Speaker 1: well paid for, and orchestrated by the radical left.
- 16:32Speaker 4: So just know that.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Your tax dollars now have now gone to create a
- 16:38Speaker 1: master ICE tracker to track the movements of ICE agents,
- 16:44Speaker 1: putting a target on their back, endangering their lives and
- 16:47Speaker 1: their families' lives and the people that work with them
- 16:50Speaker 1: at the ICE facilities. And it is clearly an obstruction
- 16:55Speaker 1: of justice.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Did you see that.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Gold just hit an all time new high of over
- 17:01Speaker 1: four thousand dollars an ounce? And if you hear that
- 17:05Speaker 1: and you're like, are you kidding me? And you're thinking, gosh,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I missed my opportunity. Well, I don't know if you
- 17:11Speaker 1: missed your opportunity, But my friends at Kurt Elliott Precious
- 17:14Speaker 1: Medals they can answer that question for you.
- 17:17Speaker 4: You also may not.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Be paying attention to the incredible gains with silver that
- 17:21Speaker 1: are happening right now as well. And that's why I
- 17:25Speaker 1: trust the guidance of the team at Kirk Elliott. In fact,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I literally just got a hundred ounce bar of silver
- 17:32Speaker 1: the other day. And the reason why is because after
- 17:35Speaker 1: I talk to the team at kirk Elliott Precious Medals,
- 17:38Speaker 1: they let me understand exactly where I could have a
- 17:41Speaker 1: big upside in investing in silver. Now, the other part
- 17:45Speaker 1: that I love about them is this they have transparent pricing.
- 17:49Speaker 1: There are a lot of gold companies that you'll hear
- 17:51Speaker 1: about if you listen to talk radio or podcasts or
- 17:54Speaker 1: watch TV, but do they tell you how the pricing
- 17:58Speaker 1: actually works well. At kirk Elliott, they're real simple, just
- 18:02Speaker 1: eight percent when you buy and zero commissions when you sell,
- 18:07Speaker 1: with no hidden fees. Ever, that is the other reason
- 18:10Speaker 1: why I recommend them to all of you. They also
- 18:13Speaker 1: don't sell you quote rare coins or precious coins that
- 18:16Speaker 1: you pay insane markups on and then when you go
- 18:20Speaker 1: to sell them you find out they're really not worth
- 18:22Speaker 1: that much. They are a bullyon only approach. They focus
- 18:26Speaker 1: on investment grade metals, no overpriced collectibles, no gimmicks that
- 18:32Speaker 1: means you get more gold or silver for your money
- 18:35Speaker 1: at fair value when it's time for you to sell.
- 18:38Speaker 1: So if you're ready to find out if gold and
- 18:41Speaker 1: silver is right for you and your portfolio, then call

- 19:13Speaker 1: It is very clear that President Donald Trump is a
- 19:16Speaker 1: man who is on a mission to have peace through strength,
- 19:19Speaker 1: where every cannon stops senseless wars. We've seen the deal
- 19:23Speaker 1: that he's done in the Middle East, and we now
- 19:25Speaker 1: know that he's turned towards what's happening in Russia and Ukraine. Well,
- 19:30Speaker 1: there has been some late developments and the US has
- 19:34Speaker 1: announced new sanctions the target Russia's two largest oil companies,
- 19:40Speaker 1: Rosneff and Luke Oil, including many of their subsidiaries. These
- 19:46Speaker 1: sanctions mark the first time in Trump's second term that
- 19:50Speaker 1: his administration has placed new sanctions on Russia over the
- 19:54Speaker 1: Ukraine War. So much for Russian collusion, as the media
- 19:58Speaker 1: lied to you about for years. The US Treasury, through
- 20:03Speaker 1: the Office of the Foreign Assets Control explicitly said the
- 20:07Speaker 1: move is meant to degrade Russia's ability to fund its
- 20:11Speaker 1: war machine and hurt its economy because if you know
- 20:15Speaker 1: what's going on in Russia, you know they're barely staying
- 20:19Speaker 1: alive economically because of the oil that they're selling. Now,
- 20:23Speaker 1: the announcement came shortly after a planned meeting between Donald
- 20:27Speaker 1: Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin was canceled, signaling escalating
- 20:33Speaker 1: frustration by the White House and Donald Trump. He meant
- 20:37Speaker 1: it when he said it was time for peace. Now
- 20:40Speaker 1: Here are the implications and the likely effects of what
- 20:43Speaker 1: the President has just done. The economic pressure on Russia
- 20:47Speaker 1: is real because Russia's war is costing them a lot
- 20:51Speaker 1: of money, and by targeting Russia's biggest oil companies, the
- 20:55Speaker 1: US is going after one of the major revenue resources
- 20:59Speaker 1: that supports Russia's military and also is propping up its economy,
- 21:03Speaker 1: which is teetering. This could force Russia to either lower
- 21:07Speaker 1: the price of its oil, thus reducing revenue, or reduce
- 21:12Speaker 1: production and exports. Both of those options hurt its financial
- 21:16Speaker 1: stability and their ability to sustain large scale war for
- 21:21Speaker 1: an extended period of time. Now, there is also pressure
- 21:25Speaker 1: for diplomacy and a ceasefire. The Treasury Secretary's Scott Descent
- 21:30Speaker 1: said the sanctions are meant to support peace efforts, saying quote,
- 21:35Speaker 1: now is the time to stop the killing and for
- 21:38Speaker 1: an immediate ceasefire. So the sanctions are being framed partly
- 21:42Speaker 1: as a lever for diplomacy, not just punishment. Russia has
- 21:48Speaker 1: deep trade and energy links with major buyers. This includes
- 21:53Speaker 1: India and China, who is taking a significant amount of
- 21:56Speaker 1: their oil that might not be fully impact by the
- 22:00Speaker 1: US sanctions alone. Analysts say, we'll have to wait and see,
- 22:05Speaker 1: but what we do know is the sanctions depend heavily
- 22:09Speaker 1: on enforcement and also on US allies joining and coordinating
- 22:14Speaker 1: in the sanctioned effort. If other big buyers continue business,
- 22:19Speaker 1: the impact will be weaker than we need it to be,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and there are possible global market side effects as well,
- 22:26Speaker 1: spikes and all prices if russia supply is constrained. This
- 22:31Speaker 1: is part of the reason why the President said we
- 22:32Speaker 1: need to become energy independent, going back to Drill, Baby Drill.
- 22:37Speaker 1: The fact that this is the first new sanction in
- 22:39Speaker 1: Trump's second term also suggests there may have been internal
- 22:44Speaker 1: or strategic hesitations earlier on to give a chance also
- 22:48Speaker 1: for there to be real conversations that deal with peace.
- 22:52Speaker 4: It remains to be.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Seen if the pressure will persist or if Donald Trump
- 22:57Speaker 1: plans on ratcheting up the pressure, which brings me to
- 23:01Speaker 1: the announcement Center. Mullen on the new Russian sanction speaking
- 23:05Speaker 1: with Jake Tapper on CNN, this is what he had
- 23:08Speaker 1: to say about the new move.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Do you think that there needs to be even harsher sanctions?
- 23:13Speaker 5: And the reason I ask is because obviously August fifteenth,
- 23:17Speaker 5: I believe it was, was the summit in Alaska where
- 23:21Speaker 5: President Trump was hoping that Vladimir Putin would agree to
- 23:25Speaker 5: any sort of ceasefire, and not only did he not
- 23:28Speaker 5: get a cease fire, Putin since the US literally rolled
- 23:33Speaker 5: out the carpet for him in the United States of
- 23:36Speaker 5: America on American land, Putin has upped the tenor of
- 23:40Speaker 5: the war. Some of the worst attacks on Ukraine have
- 23:43Speaker 5: happened since then. And I'm wondering if President Trump you
- 23:47Speaker 5: think needs to be even more aggressive.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Well, this is step one. The President and Congress has
- 23:53Speaker 2: talked multiple times what the next step might be. We
- 23:56Speaker 2: have been in briefed or we have been in briefings,
- 23:58Speaker 2: we've been in classified said this is literally the first
- 24:03Speaker 2: step to put more pressure on Russia if we need to,
- 24:07Speaker 2: I believe we probably will. I don't think Putin is
- 24:10Speaker 2: someone is going to pay attention the first time his
- 24:12Speaker 2: hand has slapped. I think you're going to see this
- 24:14Speaker 2: get ratcheted up farther and farther to the point to
- 24:17Speaker 2: where either we're going to bring them to their knees economically,
- 24:21Speaker 2: or they're going to decide that fighting the Ukraine isn't
- 24:23Speaker 2: worth it. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised
- 24:26Speaker 2: if you start seeing us give the accessibility to new
- 24:31Speaker 2: weapons for Europe to buy for Ukraine to be able
- 24:34Speaker 2: to fight against Russia and their aggression in Ukraine. As
- 24:38Speaker 2: I said, Jake, this is just the first step. But
- 24:41Speaker 2: this is the first step of a lot of options
- 24:43Speaker 2: we have on the table.
- 24:45Speaker 1: It's very clear, as you can hear there from Center
- 24:47Speaker 1: Mullin that this is a new path forward. We tried
- 24:51Speaker 1: to have well diplomacy work, and obviously Vladimir Putin is
- 24:55Speaker 1: not working in that way. So as he described it,
- 24:57Speaker 1: we can bring them to their knees economic or they
- 25:01Speaker 1: can decide that fighting Ukraine isn't worth it. It's the
- 25:04Speaker 1: first step of a lot of options we have on
- 25:08Speaker 1: the table, and there also seems to be real unity
- 25:11Speaker 1: behind this idea, as you know that senators are behind it.
- 25:14Speaker 1: But what is the House side saying. Mike Johnson on
- 25:17Speaker 1: the Russian sanctions. Here's what he had to say as well.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Now, and thank you so much for being here, Speaker Johnson,
- 25:24Speaker 2: because you had said before that you thought sanctions on
- 25:26Speaker 2: Russia were long overdue.
- 25:28Speaker 7: In your words, do you think that these moves tonight
- 25:30Speaker 7: go far enough.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Well, it's a very important step.
- 25:33Speaker 7: We applaud the president. He's returning peace through strength, and
- 25:37Speaker 7: that's a common theme now that we've seen exhibited around
- 25:40Speaker 7: the globe, the strength of his personality. You heard the
- 25:42Speaker 7: UN Secretary General, who you caught earlier this afternoon, he said,
- 25:46Speaker 7: in his own words, President Trump is the only figure
- 25:48Speaker 7: on the planet strong enough to help bring an end
- 25:52Speaker 7: of that war. And you have to compel Russia to
- 25:55Speaker 7: engage in the peace process. They've shown they cannot be trusted.
- 25:58Speaker 7: There's a big appetite in Congress to have sanctions like this,
- 26:01Speaker 7: and I think it's a very important step.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yet again, you see unity between Republicans and the Senate
- 26:07Speaker 1: Republicans in the House and the President of the United
- 26:10Speaker 1: States of America, which brings us back to what Trump
- 26:13Speaker 1: has now said about these new sanctions. Trump said of
- 26:17Speaker 1: the sanctions, quote, it was time. He described the sanction
- 26:20Speaker 1: on Russia's oil giants as very big and tremendous. During
- 26:25Speaker 1: a meeting with the NATO Secretary General, he expressed that
- 26:29Speaker 1: the meeting with Putin was canceled because it didn't feel
- 26:33Speaker 1: right to me.
- 26:34Speaker 4: It didn't feel like we were going to get to
- 26:36Speaker 4: the place we have to get.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Earlier this year, Trump threatened tariffs and secondary sanctions if
- 26:44Speaker 1: Russia did not agree to a cease fire. For example,
- 26:47Speaker 1: he said he might impose a twenty five to fifty
- 26:50Speaker 1: percent tariff on oil from Russia on countries buying Russian oil.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Trump also expressed frustration.
- 26:58Speaker 1: With Vladimir Putin, saying, quote, we get a lot of
- 27:01Speaker 1: bull blank thrown at us by Putin.
- 27:04Speaker 4: We want a deal, but we weren't seeing it.
- 27:07Speaker 1: The president also has backing the majority of Republicans support
- 27:11Speaker 1: additional economic sanctions on Russia. For example, a recent poll
- 27:17Speaker 1: shows eighty six percent of Republicans back further sanctions to
- 27:22Speaker 1: force an end to the war. Now, some Republicans including
- 27:27Speaker 1: those in the White House, had also delayed pushing for
- 27:30Speaker 1: sanction legislation until a possible Trump Putin meeting, indicating hesitation
- 27:36Speaker 1: that if they did put the sanctions on beforehand, it
- 27:39Speaker 1: could actually hurt the talks. But now the President has
- 27:42Speaker 1: made it clear there's a shift, and it suggests that
- 27:45Speaker 1: Trump administration is moving or being pushed by conservatives for
- 27:51Speaker 1: a tougher stance on Russia that perhaps was not there
- 27:55Speaker 1: weeks ago. It also signals to Russia and to buyer
- 28:00Speaker 1: of Russian energy that the US is united and willing
- 28:03Speaker 1: to escalate economic tools, not just diplomacy, and for allies,
- 28:10Speaker 1: the US is implicitly inviting coordination. The Treasury statement, we
- 28:14Speaker 1: encourage quote our allies to join us, signaling that other
- 28:19Speaker 1: countries may want to do the exact same thing in
- 28:22Speaker 1: their country that America is doing right now. And finally,
- 28:26Speaker 1: for Ukraine, it may increase leverage by pressuring Russia, but
- 28:30Speaker 1: it does not automatically guarantee a cease fire or an
- 28:33Speaker 1: end to the war. When you're dealing with someone like
- 28:36Speaker 1: Vladimir Putin who doesn't even care about his own people,
- 28:39Speaker 1: this could drag on.
- 28:41Speaker 4: But for the global energy and trade flow.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Targeting Russia's oil sector, as President Trump has decided to do,
- 28:47Speaker 1: can affect global markets and hurt Russia significantly, which is
- 28:53Speaker 1: exactly why the President of United States of America is
- 28:56Speaker 1: leading in this way.
- 28:57Speaker 4: We also know that the US will follow up with more.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Sanctions Russian banks, on buyers of Russian energy or shipping
- 29:06Speaker 1: in transport to deepen the pressure. There's a very good
- 29:10Speaker 1: chance that is going to be needed. And then what
- 29:13Speaker 1: will happen to Russian oil buyers like China and India?
- 29:17Speaker 1: How will they respond. What we do know now is
- 29:20Speaker 1: this is a new pathway in negotiations with President Trump
- 29:24Speaker 1: and Vladimir Putin, and it's clear that Donald Trump isn't
- 29:28Speaker 1: messing around. Don't forget Share this podcast please with your
