- 0:00Speaker 1: When we have good news, the market should go up,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and we have bad news, the market should go down,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and we'll take care of inflation as it comes. We
- 0:08Speaker 1: can take care of it. I took care of it.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I had the worst inflation in history with Biden. Aside
- 0:13Speaker 1: from borders and everything else that we had to take
- 0:15Speaker 1: care of, but we had the worst inflation in history.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And now for the last three months, as you know,
- 0:21Speaker 1: it was one point three percent.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning. It's so nice to have you with
- 0:29Speaker 3: us on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got
- 0:31Speaker 3: several big stories for you. They all involved Donald Trump
- 0:34Speaker 3: sitting down and talking about major issues that affect you.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Also talking about foreign policy with a ran talking about
- 0:43Speaker 3: no one coming to the borders, Trump talking about sanctuary
- 0:46Speaker 3: cities and also interest rates and how they could affect you,
- 0:50Speaker 3: and even talking about the fraud in Minnesota. It's the
- 0:54Speaker 3: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now. Story
- 0:58Speaker 3: number one, President Donald Trump doing it another sit down interview,
- 1:01Speaker 3: talking about a wide range of issues, and we're going
- 1:05Speaker 3: to get into many of those, but one of the
- 1:06Speaker 3: ones that was very important to the president was dealing
- 1:09Speaker 3: with Iran, saying that Iran would be foolish not to
- 1:13Speaker 3: make a nuclear missile deal. He also talked about sending
- 1:17Speaker 3: a second aircraft carrier to the region, Trump warning Iran,
- 1:22Speaker 3: don't be foolish and get a deal done now. The
- 1:25Speaker 3: comments landed hours after Axios reported that Trump is considering
- 1:30Speaker 3: sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East.
- 1:33Speaker 3: If negotiations collapse, either we will make a deal or
- 1:37Speaker 3: we will not have a deal, and we'll have to
- 1:39Speaker 3: do something very tough, like last time. Trump told Axos,
- 1:43Speaker 3: adding we have an armada that is heading there, and
- 1:46Speaker 3: another one might be going. A US official also confirmed
- 1:51Speaker 3: discussions about deploying another strike group, Axos reported, in addition
- 1:55Speaker 3: to the USS Abraham Lincoln in its strike group. And
- 1:58Speaker 3: this is clearly a that Trump is framed as both
- 2:02Speaker 3: leverage and the alternative to diplomacy. In that context, Last
- 2:08Speaker 3: Time is a direct reference to the Operation Midnight Hammer,
- 2:12Speaker 3: the US strikes on Iran's nuclear sykes roughly six months
- 2:15Speaker 3: ago to cap the twelve day Israel Iran War, a
- 2:20Speaker 3: precedent Trump is explicitly holding up as the consequences of
- 2:24Speaker 3: Iranian defiance that threat of escalation is colliding with Tehran's
- 2:31Speaker 3: declared red lines. Irana's publicly insisted negotiations be limited strictly
- 2:37Speaker 3: to nuclear enrichment levels, not enrichment itself, and has rejected
- 2:42Speaker 3: any discussion of missiles or regional proxy forces that would
- 2:47Speaker 3: be them supporting Hesblahamas and other terrorist organizations. And that's
- 2:52Speaker 3: where the fueling of the skepticism in Washington as well
- 2:55Speaker 3: as in Israel in Jerusalem that a comprehensive deal is
- 3:00Speaker 3: well maybe not even realistic with Iran. The Israeli Prime
- 3:04Speaker 3: Minister net yahoo is also set to meet with President
- 3:07Speaker 3: Trump today at the White House, with Iram being the
- 3:11Speaker 3: first and foremost issue on the agenda. Netnyahu said he
- 3:15Speaker 3: has departed for Washington, adding he will represent the essential
- 3:20Speaker 3: principles he argues are vital not only for Israel, but
- 3:25Speaker 3: to everyone around the world who wants peace and security
- 3:29Speaker 3: in the Middle East. Now. This also comes as US
- 3:32Speaker 3: Ambassador to Israel Mike Kakabi, speaking before boarding a flight
- 3:35Speaker 3: to Washington, Netnya, who said there is quote extraordinary alignment
- 3:40Speaker 3: between Israel and the United States on Iran, while stressing
- 3:43Speaker 3: the outcome ultimately depends on Tehran's choices. On the Iranian side,
- 3:50Speaker 3: officials moved quickly to reinforce their position. The Iranian Foreign
- 3:54Speaker 3: minister said Tuesday that Israel is attempting to sabotage diplomacy
- 4:00Speaker 3: and warned US officials not to allowed outside actors of
- 4:03Speaker 3: shape American foreign policy, while also criticizing new sanctions announced
- 4:08Speaker 3: after the Oman meetings took place. Now, this isn't all
- 4:12Speaker 3: that the President dealt with today. In the interview, he
- 4:16Speaker 3: also talked about the border and how important it is
- 4:19Speaker 3: that we have a secure border. Here's what President Trump
- 4:22Speaker 3: had to say on Fox Business with Larry Kudlow.
- 4:25Speaker 1: We have the strongest border in the history of our country.
- 4:29Speaker 1: We have democrat people giving us the statistics that no
- 4:34Speaker 1: people have come into a country illegally in the last
- 4:38Speaker 1: eight months. Even I can't believe that totally, but I'll
- 4:41Speaker 1: take it. But essentially, no people have come in. Nobody's
- 4:44Speaker 1: coming through a border. They only come in legally. We've
- 4:47Speaker 1: done an unbelievable job. I don't think we've given any
- 4:50Speaker 1: credit one of the problems.
- 4:51Speaker 4: That I find in politics.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So I got elected to a large extent on the border,
- 4:58Speaker 1: I've done such a good job in the border that
- 5:00Speaker 1: nobody wants to talk about it anymore. Like when I
- 5:02Speaker 1: mentioned border, sir, they don't want to hear about it.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You solve that problem. I don't get any credit for anything.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I mean, I do these things. You would say I've
- 5:09Speaker 1: done a great job at the border, right nobody coming in.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We have a strong border. Drugs are way down, you know.
- 5:16Speaker 1: By knocking out those boats. We have dropped drugs spent
- 5:19Speaker 1: about thirty three percent.
- 5:22Speaker 4: And now we're going to start on land.
- 5:23Speaker 1: We had to do the boats first because they would
- 5:26Speaker 1: go immediately to the boats. If you hit them on land,
- 5:28Speaker 1: they go to the boat. So we do the boats first.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Now there are no boats. Now we're going to hit
- 5:32Speaker 1: them on the land. We're going to hit them very
- 5:33Speaker 1: hard on land. We've knocked down drugs every one of
- 5:37Speaker 1: those boats. It's nasty, but every one of those boats.
- 5:39Speaker 4: That shut down in the seas you've.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Been watching it, we saved twenty five thousand American lives.
- 5:46Speaker 4: So we've done a great job. The problem is that
- 5:49Speaker 4: I'm not sure that people see it. Maybe we have
- 5:53Speaker 4: a public relations problem.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Because I don't know that we get it out the
- 5:57Speaker 1: way shop because I don't think anybody had a more
- 6:00Speaker 1: successful first year as a president than I have with
- 6:03Speaker 1: all of the.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Things we did.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And then in the previous administration, my previous my first term,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I rebuilt the military and that's why we had venezuela
- 6:14Speaker 1: tremendous success. As you know, we have a massive flotilla
- 6:18Speaker 1: right now going over to Iran.
- 6:21Speaker 4: We'll see what happens. I think they want to make
- 6:23Speaker 4: a deal. I think they'd be foolish if they didn't.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We took out their nuclear power last time, and we'll
- 6:28Speaker 1: have to see we take out more this time.
- 6:30Speaker 5: Do you think a deal with you Iran?
- 6:32Speaker 1: Now?
- 6:32Speaker 3: The President also talked about the issue with sanctuary cities
- 6:36Speaker 3: as well, And here's where you had to say about
- 6:38Speaker 3: the criminals that are being protected by so many liberals.
- 6:42Speaker 5: It just seems to me, in general, we're large. If
- 6:46Speaker 5: you abide by the immigration laws, stop all this sanctuary
- 6:51Speaker 5: city business, that's the most affordable thing possible you save.
- 6:56Speaker 5: I mean, I look at what's happened in New York, Okay,
- 7:00Speaker 5: what Mayor Adams had to spend. He's spent a fortune
- 7:03Speaker 5: on ten twelve billion dollars, maybe fifteen billion dollars because
- 7:07Speaker 5: he was giving money away to illegals, many of whom
- 7:10Speaker 5: are criminal illegals. I mean, it seems to me if
- 7:13Speaker 5: those laws are upheld, if sanctuary cities, for example, are
- 7:18Speaker 5: defunded some as you have talked about. Lindsay Graham has
- 7:21Speaker 5: talked about, that's an affordability issue. There are huge savings
- 7:24Speaker 5: there and you can go after the waste fraud of them.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So Linds is really hot on getting rid of sanctuary cities.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm backing them one hundred percent. We got to do it.
- 7:34Speaker 4: We're hot, and it's sort of the Security.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Act you could call it, but we have to do it.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You know, sanctuary cities are only good for people. It's
- 7:42Speaker 1: sanctuary for criminals. Okay, they are protecting criminals. Those states
- 7:46Speaker 1: could hand those people over to us, they crime would
- 7:50Speaker 1: go down. We'd get them out of the country. They
- 7:53Speaker 1: can't do what we could do. We can get them
- 7:55Speaker 1: out of the country. They can't do it. But there's
- 7:58Speaker 1: sanctuaries for criminals. They have the word, they killers, have
- 8:00Speaker 1: drug lords. They have trend de Iragua all over the place.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Now.
- 8:06Speaker 3: President Trump was also asked about the Minnesota fraud scandal,
- 8:10Speaker 3: and here's what he had to say about that.
- 8:13Speaker 5: So you're going to still go after the whole waste fraud.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, yeah, in Minnesota. Take a look at Minnesota. So
- 8:19Speaker 1: we think it's at least nineteen billion dollars of fraud, medical,
- 8:24Speaker 1: every fraud.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Somalia has come in here.
- 8:27Speaker 1: What they've done to our country, these people they've come
- 8:30Speaker 1: into our country, and what they've done with that fake congresswoman,
- 8:35Speaker 1: she's so bad. No, we're going to get to the
- 8:38Speaker 1: bottom of it. We have the best, We have the
- 8:40Speaker 1: best people in the maybe in the whole country looking
- 8:44Speaker 1: at that. We're looking at California too, because California is worse.
- 8:48Speaker 4: But you know, if we.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Find fifty percent, you know, look, they've been robbing and
- 8:54Speaker 1: ripping off this country for many years.
- 8:56Speaker 4: For decades.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Right, if we find fifty percent of what's happened, we
- 9:02Speaker 1: have a balanced budget without cutting anybody.
- 9:05Speaker 4: We have a balanced budget, and we'll find it.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Minnesota's very corrupt, California is very corrupt.
- 9:11Speaker 4: A lot of states are very corrupt.
- 9:14Speaker 3: You think about the tax issue there, He says, we
- 9:17Speaker 3: have a balanced budget. If we can just cut out
- 9:20Speaker 3: half of the corruption. That's how much is out there
- 9:24Speaker 3: that is being wasted of your tax dollars as we speak.
- 9:28Speaker 3: The President also had this to say about the future
- 9:32Speaker 3: in this country for Americans when it comes to home
- 9:35Speaker 3: ownership and interest rates. And also he was asked about
- 9:40Speaker 3: the FED chair pick.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Take a listen.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Do you know you wanted Kevin Warsh so officially it
- 9:46Speaker 5: was two fridays ago, but when did you Well.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I made a mistake. He was a runner up if you.
- 9:52Speaker 5: Want to see, he was a finalist.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Yeah, he was.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And I made a mistake because I had somebody that
- 9:56Speaker 1: was my secretary of the Treasury. I wanted him so badly,
- 10:01Speaker 1: so badly, and you know, I didn't feel good about him.
- 10:06Speaker 1: But sometimes you listen to people, and there was a mistake.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It was really a big mistake. But I think we're
- 10:13Speaker 1: going to do something that's really spectacular. And then Biden
- 10:15Speaker 1: renewed him, which was shocking to me. That was bad
- 10:17Speaker 1: because Biden renewed him. I said, oh boy, this is lousy,
- 10:20Speaker 1: because if I win, I'm going to inherit this guy for.
- 10:23Speaker 4: A period of time.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Can I just raise one point?
- 10:25Speaker 4: All he has to do his lower interest rates?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Interest rates should be lower, you know, every point is
- 10:31Speaker 1: six hundred billion dollars. Think of that six hundred billion
- 10:36Speaker 1: dollars all he has to do. If we went down
- 10:38Speaker 1: two points, we don't have a deficit anymore. And that's
- 10:42Speaker 1: without cutting and it's just a paper charge when you
- 10:44Speaker 1: think about it, it's a paper charge. We should be
- 10:48Speaker 1: the lowest interest rate in the world. The reason I
- 10:50Speaker 1: bring up the Switzerland because we should be lower than
- 10:53Speaker 1: We should be lower than everybody.
- 10:54Speaker 4: You know, Switzerland's like just about the lowest.
- 10:58Speaker 1: If I charge them tariffs, they would not be doing
- 11:02Speaker 1: very well.
- 11:03Speaker 4: They would not be doing very well.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I treated him very nicely, actually, but they would be
- 11:07Speaker 1: and many other countries would not be doing very well.
- 11:10Speaker 1: So I'm being very judicious to put it mildly, but
- 11:15Speaker 1: his country should.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Have the lowest interest rates in the world. We keep
- 11:18Speaker 4: the world going.
- 11:19Speaker 1: We allowed you know how many different When I got here,
- 11:21Speaker 1: almost every single country in the world that we did
- 11:25Speaker 1: business with made money off of us. We didn't make money.
- 11:28Speaker 1: We had deficits with everybody. And I call that a loss.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know, a lot of people say, oh, it doesn't matter,
- 11:33Speaker 1: it doesn't matter a.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Lot to me. I call it a loss.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So we are losing money with every single country in
- 11:39Speaker 1: the world, just about there are a couple.
- 11:41Speaker 4: I don't know what happened. Maybe we got lucky, but
- 11:44Speaker 4: we had the.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Worst negotiators, and we had presidents that were allows e
- 11:49Speaker 1: business people. And you know, I liked Ronald Reagan. But
- 11:51Speaker 1: Ronald Reagan was bad on trade. Everybody has problems. He
- 11:55Speaker 1: was not good on trade. He allowed Japan to come
- 11:57Speaker 1: in and Germany to come in. But we both like
- 12:00Speaker 1: and he was a good president, but he wasn't.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Good on trade.
- 12:02Speaker 5: To cut my teeth with him, but Bob Leithheiser would
- 12:05Speaker 5: disagree with you. I don't want to spend too much time.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Reagan was tougher than you think.
- 12:10Speaker 4: On you only on trade.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I think, well, he had the big, big shootout with
- 12:15Speaker 1: Japan and he folded and they came in and took
- 12:19Speaker 1: our car market.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Can I go back. I'm a fan of.
- 12:22Speaker 1: His and I thought he was just sort of had
- 12:25Speaker 1: a great presence. But on trade, if you look at
- 12:29Speaker 1: every president we have over the last fifty years was
- 12:33Speaker 1: bad on trade. Every single one.
- 12:36Speaker 5: Well they didn't understand.
- 12:37Speaker 4: But I'm not bad on trade. I'm real good on trade.
- 12:40Speaker 3: You're arguing the president talking there not only about trade
- 12:43Speaker 3: but also saying that US should have the lowest interest
- 12:46Speaker 3: rates in the world. Interest rates should be lower, and
- 12:50Speaker 3: that means more Americans can afford to buy homes and
- 12:53Speaker 3: other things. This is the Trump doctrine on full display.
- 12:58Speaker 3: And he's also doing interviews with whoever wants to talk to,
- 13:01Speaker 3: another example of the present being so open about what
- 13:06Speaker 3: he wants for this country.
