- 0:00Speaker 1: My next is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta
- 0:04Speaker 1: proud member Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She's a host, financial guru,
- 0:10Speaker 1: a bestselling author of financial self help books, and an
- 0:13Speaker 1: ordained minister. So you know I can't be too you
- 0:16Speaker 1: know too, you know me, I'll be edgy sometimes, you know.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I got all right on Becau stay right in that
- 0:22Speaker 1: lane with her. Her new book, The Symphony, A Guide
- 0:25Speaker 1: to Creating and Balancing Multiple Streams of Income, is published
- 0:30Speaker 1: and I have been reading it all weekend right here.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I cared on the plane with the Houston this weekend,
- 0:35Speaker 1: had in my bag, so I was reading on the
- 0:36Speaker 1: plane a lot of pages unfolded. To day on my show,
- 0:39Speaker 1: be sharing her secrets on how to monetize all of
- 0:42Speaker 1: your gifts to create a beautiful symphony of income streams.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Please welcome to Money Making Conversation for the very first time,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Dr Lynn Richardson. Well, good morning, and thank you so much.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Mr McDonald, thank you. I'm honored to be here with
- 0:57Speaker 1: you where I'm honored to have you because we met
- 0:59Speaker 1: men time. We talked other projects that you've been involved in.
- 1:02Speaker 1: She's been to the Hoodie Awards with my favorite person,
- 1:05Speaker 1: mc light, And that's how my girl my business parts.
- 1:10Speaker 1: You know how I feel about mc light now and
- 1:12Speaker 1: so yes, but it's all about legend. It's all about
- 1:19Speaker 1: you on this show right now. Dr Len Richardson, um Um,
- 1:23Speaker 1: I want you to talk about because I always talk
- 1:25Speaker 1: about multiple streams of income, and that's in your title
- 1:28Speaker 1: of your book. What exactly is multiple streams of income?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Just to the layman person, it's having more than one
- 1:37Speaker 1: way of making money. UH. And you know I wrote
- 1:41Speaker 1: this book, Mr McDonald because not many people have mastered
- 1:45Speaker 1: what you have mastered over your career, and that is
- 1:49Speaker 1: applying strategy to UH finances. And I was in my
- 1:54Speaker 1: twenties and I had a whole bunch of jobs. It
- 1:57Speaker 1: was like my name is Lenny, and I got plenty
- 1:58Speaker 1: from the time. I can tell you some lighters of insurance.
- 2:02Speaker 1: You could come to my house on a Saturday. I
- 2:03Speaker 1: could be your hair, your nails, nail tells you write it,
- 2:06Speaker 1: insurance policy, get a job, quit a job, whatever it was.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But I was like being on a treadmill. I was
- 2:12Speaker 1: running fast and going nowhere. I was unfulfilled, and I
- 2:16Speaker 1: certainly was not monetizing any of those income strains um
- 2:20Speaker 1: the way I thought I would uh. And the whole
- 2:22Speaker 1: idea that many of us are serial entrepreneurs, creative people
- 2:27Speaker 1: who come up with ideas and think it's the next
- 2:29Speaker 1: best thing to do, and you jump on board and
- 2:32Speaker 1: you get in there and you find out it's not
- 2:34Speaker 1: what you thought it was, or it's more work than
- 2:36Speaker 1: you think it is. And so I wrote this book
- 2:38Speaker 1: for people like me who needed to find their way, uh,
- 2:42Speaker 1: to find purpose, to find strategy, but more importantly, to
- 2:46Speaker 1: figure out that you can do it all, but you
- 2:49Speaker 1: just not. You can't do it all at the same time.
- 2:52Speaker 1: The step here because you was talking about you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: when you were doing insurance, you was doing hair, you're
- 2:57Speaker 1: doing you're doing you know, all these skill sets and
- 2:59Speaker 1: give out all this advice, but there was no check
- 3:01Speaker 1: tied to the given out the advice. Why well, there
- 3:07Speaker 1: was no check tied to them because I didn't have
- 3:08Speaker 1: a strategy, right, you know. I talked about the personality
- 3:13Speaker 1: of an entrepreneur and and that one of them is
- 3:16Speaker 1: the dreamer. The dreamer things everything is gonna be great.
- 3:19Speaker 1: The dreamers think that this idea is a great idea,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and it probably is. But if you don't have a thinker.
- 3:25Speaker 1: See see that's what you have said, Mr McDonald. A thinker.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The sinker is the strategist. The thinker is gonna ask
- 3:31Speaker 1: all the questions that the dreamer doesn't want to hear.
- 3:33Speaker 1: The thinker is gonna say, now, how are we gonna
- 3:35Speaker 1: do this, what is the plan, how are we going
- 3:37Speaker 1: to roll this out? Who are we in business with?
- 3:39Speaker 1: How much does it call? How much work does that
- 3:42Speaker 1: actually take? Uh? And so on. And then the other
- 3:44Speaker 1: part of it is the storyteller. Who's gonna tell the story?
- 3:48Speaker 1: You've said that to me many times. Who's gonna market it,
- 3:51Speaker 1: who's gonna put it out there, who's gonna get it
- 3:53Speaker 1: into the universe? And then of course that that that
- 3:56Speaker 1: last thing, who is the hunter? The hunter it's always
- 4:01Speaker 1: seeking new opportunities. So you can be a dreamer with
- 4:04Speaker 1: a great idea, but if you don't have a strategy
- 4:07Speaker 1: in place to build relationships, to get leads, to get
- 4:11Speaker 1: new business opportunities, to get new contract signed, then your
- 4:15Speaker 1: dream will become a nightmare. And so I think that's
- 4:17Speaker 1: the reason why people don't fulfill what it is that
- 4:20Speaker 1: they see, because they don't think of all of those
- 4:23Speaker 1: different steps. We really it's really great. Uh, we're talking
- 4:27Speaker 1: to Dr Lynn Richardson. We'll discovers her new book, The Symphony,
- 4:31Speaker 1: A Guide to create an imbalancing multiple streams of Income.
- 4:35Speaker 1: The reason I was excited about having you on the
- 4:37Speaker 1: show because to give where I'm at, you know, experience,
- 4:41Speaker 1: but just confidence, uh, the ability to say, hey, that
- 4:47Speaker 1: cost if you want me to talk about that, if
- 4:49Speaker 1: you want me to walk over there and talk to
- 4:51Speaker 1: you about that, and that comes with a fee, because
- 4:54Speaker 1: it's really tied to fear, because people need to understand
- 4:57Speaker 1: that a lot of times we like the attention, We
- 5:00Speaker 1: like people coming to us asking us for advice. But
- 5:04Speaker 1: guess what if you put a price tag on it,
- 5:06Speaker 1: they might stop coming. Well, well, guess what. You want
- 5:10Speaker 1: them to stop coming because you want to stop being free.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You want them to stop coming to you saying oh,
- 5:16Speaker 1: rou sean here, tell you guess what somebody around the
- 5:19Speaker 1: corner with lesser value, let's her experience. It's actually charging
- 5:23Speaker 1: for your services while you over there, Mr popular um
- 5:27Speaker 1: spread walcoming and all this all this busy work and
- 5:31Speaker 1: not getting paid for And that's why I wanted to
- 5:33Speaker 1: say when she was talking about all those different jobs,
- 5:35Speaker 1: all those different opportunities. Is a lot of us just
- 5:38Speaker 1: tied to she was popular, she was super popular, but
- 5:40Speaker 1: the income went tied to because sometimes deep inside you
- 5:44Speaker 1: don't know how to turn that corner, to turn that
- 5:47Speaker 1: corner to say, hey, I like being popular, but guess
- 5:51Speaker 1: what this is what's gonna cost? And then you would
- 5:54Speaker 1: agree to this as well. Dr Lemrick, So this that
- 5:57Speaker 1: what is that value? How does how does the person
- 6:00Speaker 1: get that value point of what their services are? Can
- 6:02Speaker 1: you expound on that? Yes, you know, it's interesting that
- 6:06Speaker 1: you say that, and I have to, you know, kind
- 6:08Speaker 1: of say amen to what you just said, because in
- 6:11Speaker 1: all too many cases, people think that they can call
- 6:14Speaker 1: and ask for advice and that if there's no price
- 6:17Speaker 1: tag attached to it. And I tell people this, it's
- 6:20Speaker 1: like if you call the attorney and you want the
- 6:22Speaker 1: attorney to give you some advice, don't you know that
- 6:24Speaker 1: that's what the attorney is selling at vice. If you
- 6:26Speaker 1: go to the grocery store, you're gonna get a local bread.
- 6:29Speaker 1: You cannot walk out of the store with the local
- 6:31Speaker 1: bread and not pay. So you're not gonna get a
- 6:33Speaker 1: local bread. At the attorney's office. You're not gonna get
- 6:36Speaker 1: a local bread at Rushan MacDonald's office. You're not gonna
- 6:38Speaker 1: get a local bread at my office. You're actually gonna
- 6:40Speaker 1: get a strategy. You're gonna get advice, You're gonna get
- 6:43Speaker 1: an idea, you're gonna get a new thought process. And
- 6:45Speaker 1: there's a cost attached to that. And this is so
- 6:48Speaker 1: funny because you know I always talk about I talk
- 6:50Speaker 1: about how you're in your kids to work in your
- 6:51Speaker 1: home based business. And my oldest daughter, she was in
- 6:55Speaker 1: her teens, and she was rebelling, and I was telling
- 6:57Speaker 1: her the same thing over and over again. Then one
- 6:59Speaker 1: day I decided, no, I'm gonna start charging you. I
- 7:02Speaker 1: made four hundred fifty dollars an hour to give people advice.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So when you do something that I have already told
- 7:08Speaker 1: you not to do, and now I have to tell
- 7:10Speaker 1: you how to undo what you did, you're gonna have
- 7:12Speaker 1: to pay me for my advice because this is no
- 7:14Speaker 1: longer parenting. This is now counseling, and you're gonna have
- 7:17Speaker 1: to pay a fee. And the first time I charged
- 7:20Speaker 1: her a fee a counseling see to talk to me
- 7:24Speaker 1: if it changed everything around. So I would start by saying,
- 7:28Speaker 1: if you if you're trying to identify your value, find
- 7:31Speaker 1: someone who's great at what they do in your area,
- 7:36Speaker 1: discover what their fees are, and then you adjust accordingly.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So if you know that you are into business strategy,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and you know that Rashan McDonald does X, Y and
- 7:46Speaker 1: Z for you are a beginner, you can't charge what
- 7:48Speaker 1: was Sean McDonald charges, but you can scale it up
- 7:52Speaker 1: or down depending on your level of expertise. The other
- 7:55Speaker 1: thing is to test it. You don't find people who
- 7:59Speaker 1: are since fairly interested in doing business with you, State
- 8:03Speaker 1: your feet and don't be afraid to have a conversation.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I'm quick to state my feet, but I'm also very
- 8:10Speaker 1: quick to say we can negotiate. Perhaps there's a reason
- 8:13Speaker 1: why we can have a see that's lower, or maybe
- 8:15Speaker 1: we can have a longer term partnership. So it's about
- 8:19Speaker 1: not being afraid to have the conversation, which is why
- 8:22Speaker 1: they show us so important. Absolutely, Dr Lenn Richardson's on
- 8:27Speaker 1: money making conversation. Let's talk about that because I'm enjoying
- 8:30Speaker 1: this conversation with you because of the fact that you're
- 8:32Speaker 1: hitting so many, so many of nuggets that I like
- 8:35Speaker 1: to talk about in this show. And one of the
- 8:37Speaker 1: things that's about charging your value, and so many people
- 8:41Speaker 1: are so nervous about that because it's all about does
- 8:45Speaker 1: the phone continue to ring? But I'm gonna just tell
- 8:48Speaker 1: you something about that. If you're gonna charge, make sure
- 8:51Speaker 1: that's that's your look now, you know, so you can't
- 8:54Speaker 1: come in you know, charging you're looking sloppy, or you
- 8:57Speaker 1: you got baby pictures on your social media, you're trying
- 9:00Speaker 1: a charge for attorney fees, or you're trying to start
- 9:02Speaker 1: for social media, or you got or you got party pictures.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Your image you have to start from day one starts
- 9:10Speaker 1: shaping that to be the person that you are. Correct. Absolutely,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I always tell people act the way you want to
- 9:17Speaker 1: be in sooner or later you will be the way
- 9:19Speaker 1: you act. When I started working with m l Uh, Yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 1: when I started working with her, uh spent eight years now.
- 9:26Speaker 1: We started working together seven years and two Falcon twelve.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I was running one of Russell Simmons companies and I've
- 9:32Speaker 1: really reached out to like just to help her start
- 9:34Speaker 1: a foundation, and our conversations started to grow beyond the foundation,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and she asked me to join her team. And the
- 9:42Speaker 1: very first question I asked her is what would you
- 9:44Speaker 1: do with your time if money wasn't an issue. When
- 9:47Speaker 1: she said she'd speak and inspire people and gift scholarships,
- 9:51Speaker 1: I said, that's what we're gonna make you look like. Today.
- 9:54Speaker 1: We changed the website. It went from being the website
- 9:58Speaker 1: of a rapper to being the website of mc light
- 10:02Speaker 1: that the person. Yes, we love her her wrapping kills
- 10:05Speaker 1: and she's one of the greatest of all times, but
- 10:07Speaker 1: she's so much more than that. So we created her
- 10:10Speaker 1: image to look like what she wanted to be, and
- 10:14Speaker 1: sooner rather than later. She actually that came across to
- 10:18Speaker 1: the world and we'd show up and people would say, Oh,
- 10:20Speaker 1: my goodness, I'm so inspired by what you're doing. I'm
- 10:23Speaker 1: so inspired by your work. I'm so inspired. So act
- 10:27Speaker 1: the way you want to be, and sooner or later
- 10:29Speaker 1: you will be the way you act. Do not go
- 10:31Speaker 1: out with business cards that say uh big John twenty
- 10:35Speaker 1: two at gmail dot com. They just we're gonna send
- 10:38Speaker 1: you some money. It's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Get your brand lined up, get your image lined up.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Be sure that your social media linked in Facebook, Instagram.
- 10:49Speaker 1: There is no face social media. It's all a part
- 10:52Speaker 1: of your brand. Line it up, just like you're saying, yes,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I love her. I just had that conversation with a
- 10:57Speaker 1: friend of mine other day. They had they had a
- 10:59Speaker 1: Gmail and they were attorney said you, you can't keep
- 11:03Speaker 1: doing business like this. You can't have a Gmail. You
- 11:07Speaker 1: in your practice always been working for me, it's been
- 11:10Speaker 1: working for you. But guess what it is. I'm sure
- 11:13Speaker 1: some places you've sent it they have not responded like
- 11:16Speaker 1: you wanted to because they saw Gmail. They didn't feel
- 11:19Speaker 1: that you had invested in the business. They had invested
- 11:21Speaker 1: in the brand. And that's all you're saying. You have
- 11:24Speaker 1: to be consistent with your message in or to get
- 11:26Speaker 1: consistent income, get a consistent brand out there, and it
- 11:29Speaker 1: consistent reputation that what you say you do, there's credibility,
- 11:32Speaker 1: credibility tied behind it. That's all you're saying right now.
- 11:37Speaker 1: That's right, absolutely yes. And you know people will buy
- 11:40Speaker 1: into whatever you're selling. Absolutely, no idea what people think
- 11:45Speaker 1: that people are not gonna buy. People will buy what
- 11:47Speaker 1: you're selling. So if you're selling that you're professional, that
- 11:50Speaker 1: you're suit, that you're ready, that you're together, that you
- 11:53Speaker 1: can you can attach a price tag to that and
- 11:57Speaker 1: people will buy what you're selling. Now those who are
- 11:59Speaker 1: not interested in what you have to offer, move on
- 12:02Speaker 1: the Dr. I love her. You talking to truth millions
- 12:09Speaker 1: of people in the world. You said about this one person,
- 12:11Speaker 1: and here's the other thing. Please do not rely on
- 12:14Speaker 1: your friends and your family member. He's preaching. She's a minister.
- 12:21Speaker 1: She's speaking to gospel of finances on My Hill money
- 12:24Speaker 1: Making Conversation. We're gonna be back with more. Dr Lynn Richard.
- 12:27Speaker 1: You know she's a regular. She was doing it just
- 12:28Speaker 1: like Steve Harper. Steve Harvey made her on his talk
- 12:30Speaker 1: that you're regular, what's your regular money making conversations? To Well,
- 12:35Speaker 1: my you're listening to money making conversation. I'm just off air,
- 12:38Speaker 1: just talking about staff, about how exciting, how motivated. Dr
- 12:42Speaker 1: Lennle Richardson left us on that last break off. You
- 12:45Speaker 1: don't know her. She's a financial guru or bestselling author
- 12:48Speaker 1: of financial health self health books. And don't know what
- 12:50Speaker 1: the managed because she preached before she left for that
- 12:53Speaker 1: break her new book, The Symphony A Guy to Create
- 12:56Speaker 1: an and Balancing the Multiple Streams of Income. It was
- 12:58Speaker 1: in my hands right now and reading it all weekend,
- 13:01Speaker 1: and I've got a lot of forward pages. I want
- 13:03Speaker 1: to talk about something that in your book that really
- 13:07Speaker 1: it really it was. Your book is common sense. First
- 13:09Speaker 1: of all, that's why you should buy her book. And
- 13:11Speaker 1: she talked about being an employee and being an entrepreneur
- 13:15Speaker 1: and the advantages of being an entrepreneur when it comes
- 13:18Speaker 1: to taxes. Can you expand a little bit without getting
- 13:20Speaker 1: with all the secrets of your book there, Dr Lynda, Oh, absolutely,
- 13:24Speaker 1: let me tell you. I love giving away the secrets.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I love I tell people as much as they want
- 13:30Speaker 1: to know. And this is the one thing everybody has
- 13:32Speaker 1: to know, Rashan. First of all, taxas is the single
- 13:38Speaker 1: largest expense for the average American and it exceeds what
- 13:44Speaker 1: they spend over a lifetime on housing and food and travel,
- 13:50Speaker 1: uh combined, combined, Texas. There are two systems in America.
- 13:55Speaker 1: There's one system for employees. There's one system for people
- 13:59Speaker 1: who own a business. It doesn't matter what kind of
- 14:02Speaker 1: business it is. It doesn't have to be Walmart, it
- 14:04Speaker 1: doesn't have to Beach this big company. It can be
- 14:07Speaker 1: your business in your house where you do hair or
- 14:10Speaker 1: you do consultant or whatever it is. The employee system says,
- 14:14Speaker 1: if you make a hundred thousand dollars, they're gonna take
- 14:16Speaker 1: thirty five thousand off the top the sixty five that
- 14:19Speaker 1: you get left over. You gotta figure out how to
- 14:21Speaker 1: pay for all your stuff, uh you know, school closed, school,
- 14:25Speaker 1: supplies for your children, cell phone bills, grant mortgage cardinals,
- 14:29Speaker 1: all of that stuff. And then at the end of
- 14:30Speaker 1: the year, when you have no money left and you're
- 14:32Speaker 1: trying to figure out how to ride people to pay Paul,
- 14:35Speaker 1: you still get taxed on the whole hundred thousand that
- 14:37Speaker 1: you ever got. The business system is very different, and
- 14:40Speaker 1: this is for all businesses. This is why everybody should
- 14:44Speaker 1: have a home based business. And my mentor, Sandy Baton,
- 14:47Speaker 1: was an I R S attorney. He left the I
- 14:50Speaker 1: R S about twenty years ago, and all he does
- 14:53Speaker 1: is teach people like you and I. The business system
- 14:56Speaker 1: says this, if you make a hundred thousand dollars and
- 14:59Speaker 1: you have a business, first, you get to expense your
- 15:02Speaker 1: car when you drive for business, your gas, your mileage,
- 15:06Speaker 1: your registration, when you travel for business. That's the reason
- 15:10Speaker 1: why I always travel for business. I never travel for
- 15:13Speaker 1: personal reasons. If I go to a family union. I
- 15:16Speaker 1: go a day early for business, and then on Saturday,
- 15:22Speaker 1: I get to go to the park and you know,
- 15:24Speaker 1: Washton burn up, the rib tips, play this way, you
- 15:26Speaker 1: know all of that. But it is a business trip
- 15:29Speaker 1: for me. So I get to write off the plane ticket,
- 15:31Speaker 1: the hotel, my meal, and when I come home the
- 15:34Speaker 1: clothes that I wore, I get to dry clean them
- 15:37Speaker 1: and write that off as well. So everything is business.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I have three children. The I R. S says you
- 15:43Speaker 1: can hire your children to work in your business. The
- 15:47Speaker 1: minimum age is zero, the maximum majors A T s.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You can pay each child up to twelve th dollars.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Some people say, lin, I don't have twelve thousand dollars,
- 15:56Speaker 1: It's okay. Whatever you were spending on them anyway, And
- 16:00Speaker 1: instead of paying for their lunch or paying for their activity,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you pay the child. You give them a job. That
- 16:06Speaker 1: money is a tax write off to you, and with
- 16:09Speaker 1: the money that they make, they can pay for all
- 16:11Speaker 1: of their things. So for me, I have three children
- 16:14Speaker 1: twelve times three, that's thirty six thousand dollars and additional
- 16:18Speaker 1: tax write off that I did not know prior to
- 16:21Speaker 1: understanding how the taxes them work. The last thing I
- 16:24Speaker 1: want to say is this. Everybody is concerned about being
- 16:27Speaker 1: about seeing the president tax returns. I believe you'll never
- 16:31Speaker 1: see it because I believe it's a blueprint for how
- 16:34Speaker 1: to write everything off. And it's perfectly legal. It's perfectly legal,
- 16:38Speaker 1: it's perfectly ethical. And our people sometimes we get afraid.
- 16:42Speaker 1: And I want to tell everybody this, Evading taxes is illegal.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That means you are not paying taxes that you actually owe.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Avoiding paying taxes is perfectly okay. It's okay to strategize
- 16:54Speaker 1: to figure out how to avoid paying more taxes than
- 16:57Speaker 1: you have to, like a Donald's talk, just like Warren Buffett,
- 17:02Speaker 1: just like Bill Gates and Mark Ruckelberg and Oprah and
- 17:05Speaker 1: everybody else. And that's what I have to say about
- 17:07Speaker 1: that the tax benefits of only your own business A lover.
- 17:11Speaker 1: That's right. You're you're hearing the Minister of Finances or
- 17:16Speaker 1: Lynton Richardson right here on money making conversation. Your book
- 17:19Speaker 1: is being passed around my studio. You know, people, you
- 17:23Speaker 1: know I'm tellous I've done I've been doing this show
- 17:26Speaker 1: to two years, all right, I've done least of over
- 17:30Speaker 1: a hundred books, interviews, nobody has ever grabbed the book
- 17:33Speaker 1: my hand. Dr Let richardson and and and and it
- 17:36Speaker 1: started taking notes, you know, getting getting their cell phone out, thinking,
- 17:39Speaker 1: take a picture of the page. Because I'm not giving
- 17:41Speaker 1: my books. I don't give up my book. You're send
- 17:42Speaker 1: the book to me when it goes and Rashaan, I'm
- 17:46Speaker 1: gonna send them back over. They're gonna gone, no, no, no, no,
- 17:51Speaker 1: just how we do business or money, make conversation. They're
- 17:53Speaker 1: gonna go online. Tell them out about the book. Dr Let,
- 17:57Speaker 1: Come on, this is how we do. You might make covers.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Come on, what about this book? Now? Amen? Amen? Because
- 18:05Speaker 1: we here to win. Were here to win about the
- 18:07Speaker 1: information you're given. But the commons inside because when I
- 18:10Speaker 1: was reading a book, you know, because you know I
- 18:13Speaker 1: say these things on a regular basis on the show,
- 18:15Speaker 1: but to hear break them down and I can say,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I I'm gonna write off everything. I have a firm
- 18:21Speaker 1: they take care of me. And I walk around and go, okay,
- 18:24Speaker 1: you about corporation escorps. So I know about writing off everything.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I know about clothes, I know about food. I know
- 18:31Speaker 1: I have one car that I used. I don't use
- 18:33Speaker 1: my personal car. I use my personal car if I
- 18:35Speaker 1: want to If if I'm eating anything, it goes on mine.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I don't care who I'm with, it goes on my
- 18:40Speaker 1: business car. When I travel, it goes on my business car. Okay, yes,
- 18:44Speaker 1: every every every dinner, uh meeting, Every dinner is a
- 18:49Speaker 1: business meeting. And I tell my sister to listen. I
- 18:51Speaker 1: don't care if your best friend calls because a man
- 18:54Speaker 1: quitter and she crying, and y'all gonna get together and
- 18:57Speaker 1: figure out if you're gonna put some sugar in his
- 18:59Speaker 1: tank or what ever. You go out to eat your
- 19:01Speaker 1: crime and your strategizic. At some point in that conversation,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk about business because I don't even know
- 19:07Speaker 1: how you're gonna get your money straight? What is your
- 19:09Speaker 1: financial situation? How did you how? What is your outlook
- 19:12Speaker 1: with the future. It's always business, It's always business. You
- 19:16Speaker 1: You are so absolutely correct, Mr McDonald's. Okay, let's talk
- 19:20Speaker 1: about a really a great opportunity that came your way
- 19:22Speaker 1: in your career. It was on the Steve Harvey talk show,
- 19:25Speaker 1: and I know about it. I didn't know he was
- 19:28Speaker 1: part of it, but you know, uh mfc light. She
- 19:30Speaker 1: shares your she posts every interviews you did on this show.
- 19:34Speaker 1: There were great interviews. What impact did those appearances on
- 19:37Speaker 1: his show have or your brand and your career? It
- 19:41Speaker 1: took everything from zero to one thousand um And this
- 19:46Speaker 1: is one of the things that I say took people
- 19:48Speaker 1: act to where you want to be uh and sooner
- 19:51Speaker 1: or later you will be the way you act. The
- 19:54Speaker 1: other part of that is be ready before you have
- 19:57Speaker 1: to be ready, Stay ready so you don't have to
- 20:02Speaker 1: get ready. Let me let me put it like that,
- 20:04Speaker 1: if I had not been ready, meaning if I did
- 20:08Speaker 1: not have the online coaching platform, if I did not
- 20:12Speaker 1: already have twenty years of business acumen, I had already
- 20:16Speaker 1: been a very successful mortgage professional, number one at Pardential
- 20:20Speaker 1: and insurance and investments, very successful in real estate. I
- 20:23Speaker 1: had already mastered all these areas. So what I was
- 20:25Speaker 1: able to do when I went on the Steve Harvy
- 20:28Speaker 1: Show is simply present my symphony. You can ask me
- 20:33Speaker 1: any question about money in any area, and I've worked it.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I've been a financial aid counselor, I've been in investments,
- 20:40Speaker 1: I've been an insurance and mortgages, so it was a
- 20:43Speaker 1: very natural experience. However, if people are ready to get
- 20:47Speaker 1: your service, and you are not ready to service them.
- 20:50Speaker 1: The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Everybody who
- 20:53Speaker 1: went on national television wasn't successful. I know one person
- 20:57Speaker 1: right now who went on Missus Harber Show, talked about
- 21:00Speaker 1: a service and got inundated with thirty six thousand phone
- 21:03Speaker 1: calls in one day. Didn't have a toll free number
- 21:06Speaker 1: to capture all those calls, didn't have a system in
- 21:09Speaker 1: place to make sure that if the person call, you
- 21:12Speaker 1: would get an email for the message, and the text
- 21:14Speaker 1: for the message, and the message on your phone so
- 21:16Speaker 1: you could figure out how to distribute the process of
- 21:19Speaker 1: answering those calls. So it was a massive It was
- 21:23Speaker 1: a massive influx of people inquiring how to get their
- 21:28Speaker 1: finances straight, buying books, wanting help, and rashan every single day.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'm I'm up at six am on days when I'm
- 21:35Speaker 1: not traveling, and I'm talking to regular everyday people about
- 21:39Speaker 1: regular everyday money problems because what happens. They see me
- 21:43Speaker 1: doing it for some family on television, but they want
- 21:46Speaker 1: to know how they can have that for themselves. So
- 21:48Speaker 1: I I set up a fast f a s T.
- 21:51Speaker 1: It's a financial assessment strategy session and it's ten minutes.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And if you send me your budget, I send you
- 21:58Speaker 1: all the steps what you need to do. I'll give
- 22:00Speaker 1: anybody ten minutes. I'll give anybody ten minutes of my
- 22:03Speaker 1: time to help change their life. And and so that's
- 22:06Speaker 1: what it's been. But the work is just beginning. That's
- 22:09Speaker 1: what it really showed me, Mr McDonald, that it's not
- 22:12Speaker 1: over and I have not arrived. The work is just
- 22:16Speaker 1: the beginning. Because there's so many millions of people who
- 22:19Speaker 1: are living check to check or worse, check to Monday,
- 22:22Speaker 1: which is my other book. I'm gonna send you that
- 22:24Speaker 1: one too, who need a plan to get out of
- 22:28Speaker 1: financial bondage. Well, this is amazing interview. I'm mad because
- 22:32Speaker 1: I don't know why I've not had you on this
- 22:34Speaker 1: show before. You're brilliant, You are, you are, You're entertaining you.
- 22:40Speaker 1: You have a common sense about you that the world
- 22:43Speaker 1: needs to hear on the regular basis. Definitely would be
- 22:45Speaker 1: posting your book. Go to Amazon uh dot com and
- 22:50Speaker 1: Dr Lynn Richardson. You can do a name search on
- 22:52Speaker 1: that as Lynn as l y n N Richardson Doctor UH.
- 22:56Speaker 1: The Symphony A God to Creating and balancing multiple income.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Um Wow, when we when you're in closing, we have
- 23:04Speaker 1: a made it left? What? What? What one point of
- 23:07Speaker 1: advice that people make a mistake? All that you wish
- 23:09Speaker 1: they would stop? I wish people will stop trying to
- 23:13Speaker 1: rush the process. And to your point, Mr McDonald, you
- 23:17Speaker 1: haven't had me on before because I didn't come out before.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I was very comfortable being behind the scenes. I was
- 23:25Speaker 1: as as a matter of fact, I was too comfortable
- 23:27Speaker 1: being behind me. Russell wanted me to come out and
- 23:31Speaker 1: see Light wanted me to come out. I didn't start
- 23:33Speaker 1: speaking and teaching on this level until I until it
- 23:38Speaker 1: was time. I didn't want to be trying to help
- 23:42Speaker 1: another person and then helping myself by helping them, I
- 23:45Speaker 1: am helping myself. It's ocarried. So that's a part of
- 23:49Speaker 1: the symphony as well. Stay in your lane, Stay in
- 23:52Speaker 1: your lane, master your lane. And what I showed that
- 23:55Speaker 1: I could do is I can help catapult a platform
- 24:00Speaker 1: to another level. And once I did that for Empty
- 24:03Speaker 1: Light and Brussell, Simmons and Mohama and Sheila and her
- 24:06Speaker 1: foundation and whatever the kids may be. Dr La, I
- 24:09Speaker 1: Gotta let you go. Is amazing. She's back
