- 1:38[SPEAKER_03]: should good man, two days in a row, I feel like we're making this approach change now.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_03]: You know, in the day, you know, this, this keeping me going, man.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_04]: Told you, got it, got it, talked to it.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_04]: So some of our guys, man, Anthony, like I said, is in here with us, Anthony, how are you feeling to go?
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Man, I'm good man, blessed and highly favored as they like to say, man.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, you know, when things are aligned, you know, it's a pretty good feeling, right?
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of times you just come behind, taking action, just taking a step, moving forward, and then next thing you know,
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I've been looking for the whole time, so I think I'm in that space right now in life, man, I'm loving it.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_04]: All right, you know what I'm saying?
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: How are you doing?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: How are you doing?
- 2:16[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Lord Jesus.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_04]: How are you doing?
- 2:21[SPEAKER_04]: Look, man, I'm, I'm, I'm doing okay, you know, uh, it's a tricky question right now for, for reasons that dream is aware of, so but at the end of the day, you know, I'm saying this is uh,
- 2:35[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad to talk to y'all, you know, this is a distraction.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_04]: I just came back from the gym, you know, got my little heavy lifts in with my trainer.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna decent space, you know, decent space, uh, below, let's talk with some borrowed, get all right, don't worry about me, where.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, check it.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, check it.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll check it.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'll check it.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: I do appreciate that, but I appreciate it and honestly even when you see it, what you see, that's a big deal.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_04]: I need to hear that.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_04]: So, congrats to you and whatever it is, it's you guys going on and you're in your real life, man.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: You're a receiver, Anthony.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: Let's cut through it, let's talk about it.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_04]: I think this receiver position heading into the training camp period is an interesting one, the dynamic of trying to battle if they should add or if they should keep who they currently have and roll with the punches and see where things, see how things unfold.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a very interesting one, because I am team ad veteran,
- 3:49[SPEAKER_04]: at teen veteran, depending on who that veteran is.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think about this receiver position, but then also that boy that's causing all that ruckus on the west coast, chirping, chirping, chirping in the fan base who is enamored by every single thing that happens surrounding that wide receiver on the west coast.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Man, let's just start in-house.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: We'll start with our own one, right?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: The ones that you can actually expect to show up at Training Camp in Ashburn and here at the beginning of August, okay?
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, for more us, look at it.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you can roll them to the season with this receiving cord.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest things that people are
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Generally looking at why receiver 2 in there, imagining having a top, you know, like 1-2 like Kuka and Devante Adams, you're looking at T-heagans and Jumar Chase, and frankly, you don't have to have that type of makeup to have a successful, you know, 1-2 punch.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: And frankly, I think the number 2 receiver in this offense is probably going to be just a multitude of players based on the matchup that week.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you get into a game and you have a week linebacker play and they can't cover tight ends and hey, it's Chica Cacuo, right?
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: But then there's another game where we're working a little more 11 personnel and Antonio Williams is Baldwin.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, having that that counter punch from people trying to say, we're trying to stop Terry, that's what the office has been missing.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: All right, it hadn't been a consistent player over there.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: And now you've got David Blau, I would assume it's going to be a lot more creative with how he gets people open.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: And you're going to see a multitude of players that can have success.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Now, when you talk about Terry getting 10 targets, but then you talk about bringing in a veteran receiver.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: Well, great, the venture receiver is going to be like, I want to at least eight, you know what I'm saying?
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like Terry Gintin, I want at least seven to eight.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: It does that limit you in the office, right?
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this would be one hell of a steady session to do.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: Just go look and see, just team one to options and see how their success is.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Is there something that you aligned with having some success?
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you have six of where you have to force the ball to somebody else these few other times, that puts more pressure on the OC to make sure you call certain plays and do certain things.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: What if everybody can run certain routes and you can easily more from one thing to another?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like that better.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other side of it, man.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Adding in another veteran, especially with how they talk about how much you have to know with this offense and how you have to understand what the quarterback's want you to do in their changing plays and formations and shifts, I need people that have been in this system as long as possible.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody that I bring in on August 1, they're so far behind the eight ball and then to assume that they're going to possibly be here over somebody who's been here since May, that's kind of tough, right?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then the last part of it is if you have to bring in that
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that means that you really weren't all the way happy with what you had in the receiver room already.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that's kind of scary.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like you can roll into it with this season.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think you kind of have to take that chance.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: And speaking about you, get every time I speak about it, man, I just always hope everything's cool up top, mentally, right?
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's a lot of outlandish activities, and people going to do it they want to do because we got free will.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: But he's not even on the roster.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's not even on the on a roster.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's on the list that frankly he has to get back reinstated and go through a whole process He doesn't cost the 49ers any money.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't hold up a roster spot.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: All he's doing right now is taking away time for our quarterback to take this new playbook and build continuity with his team So that's all I can say about it right now, man.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Would you add them?
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I can see I can see you can see the hopeful boss side where we say yeah.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I want to bring him in
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: but the antics don't match what you're building in Washington.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a guy's defundigs, there's a guy that's out there who will be, somebody who could probably plug and play, he'll be productive for you.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: And what made you receptionist?
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's a recession.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's a recession, but I think he's also, he's grown as a leader and you know, all the field in the locker room.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a little bit more maturity about him.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that's good to have
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: another person in there, you know, alongside Terry to try to be, you know, be that alphabet will.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: So Anthony, I mean, kind of staying there on the receiver topic because this is actually been a high topic amongst the fan bases listed into everyone talk about it.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_03]: But a lot of people within the fan base right now kind of think that the team is in Adam Peters and his crew is done a disservice to jay them what they surround them with.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: I personally don't agree, but that I'm kind of
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: kind of the minority opinion right down in the fan base.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: So it's kind of good to hear that assurance, but as of right now, so you're saying pretty much that you're okay.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like you, it's almost seems like you rather go into the season with what they have right now, like so that means you trust those guys or at least the train law burks they Antonio Williams, you think they're going to be ready to make that impact in that league this year.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I have to think Antonio Williams is really going to surprise some people.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: He seems like they call him a sponge.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: And the best phrase you can give somebody in the league is to call him a pro.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: And any industry, frankly, is to say, man, this person is a pro.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: And the way he handles himself, this lets me know he's going to be somebody that they lean on in key situations.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: a great run after the catch and then also I love seeing the sift blocks and he did going in blocking defensive ends that opens him up to be on the field in a lot more situations that maybe some other guys can't do it I think that puts him ahead of some of the guys you know
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the receiver position, it sounds good to just go and try to get somebody's homeboy.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that sounds all good, but this isn't mad.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and that's one attribute on the game that they do not have, where you have to try to build that continuity and start to get a connection with your- Columns and chemistry.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: They used to have it like way back in like mad in 1998 or somewhere you used to cut a player and the teams morale would go down, right?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have it anymore, so people are like, oh, you just cut him, trade him, bring him in.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you can't really do that.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: Cause now you think about these other guys that have been grindin' and working so hard.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're gonna bring in somebody else who's, you know, maybe not doin' some of the things that you'd expect and it opens up a can of worms.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think they need to go about, you know, going down that road right now.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Now they have to help Jade and enough.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, here's the thing, you can't make somebody sign.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Right, they went for Lyndon bomb, they didn't get him.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like they went after Alec Pierce, they didn't get him.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: And who else?
- 10:39[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, right.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: They took their shot.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, what you want to do?
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: Adam Peter says that he has a price that he's willing to pay for a player.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't want to overpay for that.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: So we can need to be sitting here and giving somebody a golden, you know, golden pair of shoes and a big old bag of money and be an upset with their performance pay.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes helping Jade and you heard kept Kurt Signetti, sometimes the best friend for a quarterback is a good running game, and in a good defense.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: So when you had a sunny style, you'd bring in a defense that is going to take the ball away.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I love adding residual Douglas.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: He did 21 career exceptions, three picks to the house.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to get his hand on football.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good thing.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: You want to help Jaden give him an extra possession.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Give him a short field.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right?
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: People think about how great quarterbacks are when they're defensive sets them up on the positive side of the 50.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: So if you put him in those spots or you have a coat that's going to run the ball more and give some counter punches and not be so predictable, you make it easy on Jaden Tan.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: You just go out there and have success.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think from the O.C.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_04]: standpoint, everything you say adds up, but also think like when I when I look at this staff both, uh, blouse and derontate, um, neither one of these coaching staffs or coaches excuse me on both sides of the ball really have.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: they don't owe anybody loyalty with a new system scheme coming in and that kind of emphasizes the need of like having that competition be at the forefront for for so many different roster spots.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_04]: Offensively one thing that I think about is like
- 12:25[SPEAKER_04]: but like a byproduct of an office that David Blows should bring like it it elevates the tight end group right and by default then Senate has an opportunity to to really like change the narrative behind his name but in that same vein like the opportunity is all on him boomer bust um what do you think about just uh first of all then in his
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: rough two years in the opportunity in front of him, but also just the competition standpoint, like who can be impacted about it, even thinking about the offensive line with the left-guard spots, and even the run-of-back spot where you have Dale and, you know, it's not like he's guaranteed a workhorse.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_04]: You got to figure out who's going to be able to take the load or even step up a
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: competition.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Competition is the lifeblood of it all, man.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's all you can ask for whenever you want to get into the league, right?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: I was old rookie and I'm getting up there going to get second round picks and old vets at a bit in the league for 14, 15 years.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: All I want to do is get a huddle.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's to all you can ask for, it's competition.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then you just go out there and put your best foot forward.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: And it makes you step your game up, right?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: It makes you step your game up.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: And the cool thing is when everybody is, you know, it's this weird type of competition, where we're on the same team, but there's like 12 of us, that think this technically 11 receivers, but there's only they only gonna keep five or six.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: So like, I got a cuss of body head off.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds crazy, but that's just how the game goes.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, if I see Terry make a play, then now trailing Berksa's like, I got to go make a play.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: I want to make a play, not the one up Terry, but it's like, yeah, we both about the way I hear ball and then Van Jefferson makes a play.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then you just build on it at the end of the day, it makes a difficult on the coaches to make those decisions.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and that's the best case scenarios to where
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Adam Peters and Dan Quinn are like, we don't know who to get rid of because both of these guys compete really well.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: And they've done a really good job of sprinkling in competition across the board, offensively and defensively.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned the offensive line, Chris Paul Brandon Coleman, that competition is going to, it's going to help this team, I think, because I think already the line has the most continuity and they can all grow together really benefit from running the ball a lot more.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: But then when you have that sixth offensive lineman, who's the who's to say that Brandon Coleman isn't a wing tied in in a formation in some sense?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: You get what I'm saying?
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now you can use him in more ways because he's so damn athletic.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: But that competition to get on the field is one thing, but also coaches, good coaches are going to sit there and say, man, this guy, we, he's not starting, but we can't, we use him.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: Where can he get on the field for us?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: So Brandon Coleman could do that.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the running back room, Rashad Whiten and Bill and Jerome Ford and,
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: everybody.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Nichols like that's a tight race.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I think everybody is probably right similar, right?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: Rashad's got that vet status and you know what he can do in the league.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Plus he's got the backstory with Jayden.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: Bill had the great last season, but they came out and they were saying these are the two things you need to get better at in the past game and then the kick return game.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: So basically the lines been drawn from him.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: So you got to watch and see what he does.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's able to come back from whatever was bothering him in the off season.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, I think Jerome Ford's a sneaky guy.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: He's somebody that can, you know, probably flash and make some plays.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: Who's going to jump out from that room and make nickels me block everybody off block everybody in the past game takes the third down and run out and take it to the house.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: So Dan Quinn's done a great job with the competition.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: Even the people that they've, they've side right.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: They get those guys that are
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: trying to prove something.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody got a little chip on their shoulder, right?
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: So it should raise the level of play across the board out here, man.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, oh man, this should be like good competition, healthy competition where you want the next man to do well.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: She shouldn't be a lot of toxicity out there.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_03]: Anthony, I want to have one name you did forget about in that run-and-back room.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's Kate Tron Allen, the rookie.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my bad.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_03]: And that makes too.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_03]: No, I only mention them because I wanted to kind of keep it there for a second with the run-and-back room because you mentioned earlier the best thing for it.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_03]: A quarterback is the run game and I do think David Blau is going to employ the run game a lot more this year.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_03]: Probably more so than Cliff King's very did.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_03]: But with that said, we just talked about it's going to be competition, but as of right now, there's not a guy like a guy that's standing out ahead of the packet.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's run it back by committee all year or maybe someone takes charge and ends up taking those carries.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_03]: But do you see this room being able to be that best friend that Jayda needs?
- 17:09[SPEAKER_03]: If that's what we're going to try to rely on this year in the run game.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it could be something that you can lean on and the guy you mentioned K-Try now in this him and I didn't want to forget him, but I think he brings a physical dynamic that you don't have in that room.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez was that guy last year, but I think now instead of going to Bill and short yard situations, it's not saying Bill can't do it.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: I got this big suck in the backfills, Nick name his fat man.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: Hand him the rock, you know what I'm saying?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: I could see games to where if you're going up against a weak front where you really want to pound and on them early, K-Trong could be to starter.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: He could be to guy to set everything up and then you bring in Bill and then you bring it a Rashad on third downs.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it changes the pace and how you handle things, you get some body blows, you get some uppercuts.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: So it changed how things happened.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: The play calling is what's going to be most, it's going to help with that and the cadence of the play calling.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: Are you predictable in when you're calling runs and different down in distances?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: And when you don't have a guy,
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to, you could see a whole lot of substitutions, just every single play, a new guy is coming in and out.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: It'll take a little while for people to kind of catch on to what each person does.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: But then sometimes, man, it's like, I need to be, you need to be out there for two, three plays at a row.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: And somebody can do that and you can trust them.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: That'll kind of separate some guys.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: But they're going to really need to help Jay now, just so that even in check-down situations be able to bail him out.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I got to go back to Ben's Senate because I know you mentioned him and I didn't talk about him.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: His first couple of years, it was rough just on production, but I think he was more off of this to usage.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: I committed him on his growth in blocking and physicality over those first couple of years.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: He just wouldn't be in utilized in a way that that brings out his best attributes to everything that was into draft profile So hopefully him sitting there watching shit work and you know being able to do some of those things Hell has great the David Blows been around so he's probably seen he's seen him run some routes and seen him do some things He's like hey, you know what I'm gonna do this with you this year rather than what you've been doing in the past
- 19:22[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think about emission blouse, but also like the rosy, we haven't heard from you while Anthony saw.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_04]: I would love to know like your thoughts on first time.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_04]: coordinators, especially in this situation, come off of five and 12 years.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_04]: And he chooses to go with two first-timers within their respective sides of the football.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_04]: And also respective levels of experience, because they're varies.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_04]: So what do you think about that decision, knowing that this is a pretty big year for them?
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's a bold decision.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the CBS report, he says, he favors those bold decisions and choices like that.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: And let me separate the two answers on the defensive side.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think with Durante, let me go overall overarching.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think Dan Quinn is banking on the fact that he is a great elevator of man, right?
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: He can help somebody get the most in the best out of.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's essentially going into this thing saying,
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: the offensive side and the defensive side to kind of give you the free reign to do your do what you got to do and help you be successful.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he's taken that approach much more and he's had success in doing that in the past, right?
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: You think about
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: having Kyle Shanahan who was a young offensive coordinator at the time and none of those young guys on his staff and then who was the offensive defensive coordinator then I can't recall but nonetheless I think he's been in that position before and so I love the fact that he went outside of history to get Durante Jones.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's trust and he's saying hey go do your thing with David Blau I think it's strategic that he was already on the staff because you kind of fast
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: right could you imagine bringing a whole brand new person who probably was going to want maybe change a few of the position coaches and change a few of you like it is probably awkward to elevate blouse to oc but then if you have the right guys on the staff they'll respect it they're not going to feel like they've been slighted or you know so that relationship it's probably helped him in that regard i think even when you're talking about how do you want jane to accelerate his game
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: David's been around him for two years.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's been the quarterback that's been sitting there throwing a rock to him.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: We've probably been sitting in meetings saying, what about this play?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: What about this play?
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pushing for this play.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pushing for that play.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: He knows things that Jane wants to do that they didn't get to do last year in the last couple of seasons.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's a very strategic hire, right?
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot of risk on it, but
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, hey, if he hits and he didn't, hey, we go here saying and happy to the commanders at the end of the day, because I mean, look, look at it on offense everybody's been younger, right?
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: They did a great job in hiring the right people and here's my big phrase about this whole setup is, then Quinn handles the person at him Peter's hand of the person now.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, DQ is going to get the best out of the player on the field.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's the motivator.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to put guys ready to be
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: and then Adam Peter goes and find those players and I think they've got a pretty good marriages here.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_04]: I think the biggest overall honestly or the biggest the most important piece this all season to help has been overhauled in a defense.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_04]: Bye.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: that was probably.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_04]: If you want to help, they're on to get him some people that you can work with.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_04]: Now, granted, for so I'm glad you put a resoul.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_04]: I had questions about the corner back position.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_04]: I'm, I dreamt notice.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_04]: I have was, I, they should have, they should have, they should have, they should have, resoul back in March.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_04]: But they got them.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_04]: But I also like, I felt like for a while, I was a little skeptical about the corner back position, resoul helps solidify a little bit, uh, way more than, than what it was, part and sign, and obviously,
- 23:14[SPEAKER_04]: can't say that they didn't figure out that there was some things wrong and we got to make sure the wrongs they don't come in here and flop because we didn't do enough.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, you can only do so much, you try to, you know, try to sign certain people.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think the way that the uncertainty of the draft, like, I think there was price seven different ways you could have went, right?
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, well, if this guy's available here, then we do trade, do we trade back and do we get this guy?
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: It was a little bit of an in Caleb, it would have been months or delaying.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there was a whole bunch of uncertainty there.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: Then you get to say, okay, well, let's,
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: roll the dice on who we get him for agency and let's just get out there and see what we got.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: And Rasul is a guy with nine-year vet.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: So he's expected to be in shape and can pick up whatever coaches trying to ask them to do.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: So you didn't necessarily need him around.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: in OTAs.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't need him around to be in many cancer things like that.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: You expected him to show up in training camp and then you know just kind of hit the ball roll.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: No give him a little bit of leeway to learn the system in the scheme but that's why you're three weeks ahead of that.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: But it was definitely a spot that needed some some need to address.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the biggest thing is height man.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: The guys are just a
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: You had, you know, professional work.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to me.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've been, I've been in about the sorrows, Brad.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, and I say that, and it's only because I'm, I'm picking on Mikey, and I'm picking on the meek.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: And they, and they, they're smaller guys, and then wrong with that, they're feisty.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: They play with the, the tenacity, their, their dogs, and their people that are going to play well for the team this year.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: But when you line up across from Seedy Lamb and George Pickins, and I'm glad that AJ Brown in here no more, but when you're talking line up against some taller receivers, they're going to go ahead and just say, hey, we're going to take that match up based off height.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I love the fact that you got a guy in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the biggest thing, but it also lets you know, hey, there was some room to improve from camp.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so we'll see what we get from this team once the pads come on.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because I'm honestly, that's the position group that's been worried me all offseason.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_03]: And there are a lot of people who have been on the virus, even, but the corner bags have been worried just more so because of the hype, because for not even just the hype tray aimless, like we don't really know, you know, when he's going to be 100% healthy, I don't think he's practiced at all this summer.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_03]: So you just have Mikey and Amika out there and then you had a color weather spoon as well, but I don't know where he sits on a rotation, even with a result of this, I don't know where he comes in his sits in the rotation, but it kind of makes you think that this team or at least Adam Pita's in crew.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_03]: They're expecting more out of a front seven.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_03]: And with that said, expect them more out of a front seven, you got one dude in the middle, I think this expected to start with the green dot and that's sunny styles, the first frown draft hit.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: And for you from what you've seen in a sunny styles, do you think he's writing the hand that that responsibility of the gate is a really good thing.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: Man, from everybody that I've spoken to, the answer to that is yes, and who was the young fellow he spoke with, not bearing Browning, but I'm a say, Brandon Brown, that's not his name.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: Young fellow Mr. Browning, he does the believe in book I show over there on the belief network, and we talked about study styles, and he said, man, running map Patricia's NFL style defense at Ohio State,
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he did, you know, handle some of those, you know, those are green dot duties, but you also had Caleb Downs out there as well to handle some of those things.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: So can he handle it?
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean you force him to do it just to prove a point?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: Because it could be a lot of information, and there's a lot of communication that goes on right now.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: His biggest attribute and his biggest, you know, skill and positive
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: fast.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: You remember we had a line back a few years ago that was very fast and very athletic and they put them in the middle and they made them think too much.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to do that with sunny styles.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: You get them saying, and I like Jamie.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: But when Jamie was like head down, I know where I'm going.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: He he's caused a lot of ruckus for teams, but when you slow them down with like checks and read this before you go and look at the guard, another man look.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: Give it to Leo, let Leo call it, and let Sonny just hit his spot and run.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you let him do it over time, but I think initially, I don't want to slow her down his thinking, just for the fact of saying he has greened out of his helmet.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, so many more things we could talk about Anthony and I want to respect your time.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate your joiners.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_04]: And we can spend the block on training camp once we actually get some real news and information.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_04]: I just want to get you to floor plug anything and everything that you've got going on.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_04]: You got to believe network and your podcast, believe in commanders, the floor is always anything else you want to plug, appreciate your joiners again.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man, appreciate the time.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, believe that work you said, I believe in Commander, anywhere you get that.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: Once a week, I'll be over there and locked on Commander Squad, Joe going live, Nick Ascution, David Harris, and Melissa Kim as well.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: So that's been pretty fun.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I've been also leaning into the speaking game.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna pour into students and athletes about the transition away from the game and kind of anything else in that regard.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're looking for that, check out my website, AnthonyRoshrongspeaks.com.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: He sent me a message, I'll reach out to you or put some on the books.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: See how we can uplift this youth, man.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_04]: Here it is.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_04]: Until next time, appreciate y'all watching this and all the good stuff, we're outta here, man.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
