- 3:06[SPEAKER_03]: Let me sat in it.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_03]: I can't tell you about Saturday night on here, but good little bread like you know, it was crazy.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_03]: That's not even as I like an average amount on a night out for me.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_04]: Did you have more than the week before the weekend before we were out?
- 3:24[SPEAKER_03]: No, because I wasn't drinking my first drink.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_03]: was when I'm at a frack, my last glass of cut water or my last cut, I only had the cut water, and I went out and cut water's frack.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's not that much alcohol in there, but it's strong enough, just to have a little bit.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_03]: I only had one cut water, then I went out.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_03]: And that, but yeah, like last on A to the birthday weekend, I was a drink in before we went out.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: I, and this week was referred with you, because we stayed out a little bit later, though.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_04]: No, bro, what you would you tell me soon is I got a pity he was a dreamy to catch up.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm more shot number 14.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_04]: There.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 4:18[SPEAKER_07]: my own remember how many shots that that's why I eat the text and probably this weekend like I'm not going to shot some more burn like because like over over the weekend it was just too many shots because I went out at six o'clock Saturday.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_07]: I was like I got to do some.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_07]: And I went out by myself to the roof.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_07]: Just grab some food.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_07]: And then ended up deciding to go by lucky bar.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_07]: And
- 4:45[SPEAKER_07]: That's when I ran into one of my promoter friends.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't know he does the party there.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_07]: And as soon as he seen me like a shot, I got your shot, my damn friend.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_07]: And then that just continued for the rest of the evening, right?
- 4:58[SPEAKER_07]: the rest of the evening.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_07]: So we're all conditioned.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_04]: You can't do shots AJ from what you told me that night or what you told that.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_04]: You're like, who shots?
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: I saw him that I called him.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_03]: I said, bro, like, now I know if AJ ever say that he's like, as long as he's ever said, like, when he's been drinking, that he feels good, now I recognize it because AJ this weekend, I was like, oh, yeah, he hit this, this one, this, this is
- 5:28[SPEAKER_06]: What are you saying?
- 5:30[SPEAKER_04]: No, what you say would you call shorty that night like I wouldn't have it But you but I'm saying it in person.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_03]: I like this.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I'm seeing age They're moving.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: I was like you this ain't it?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_06]: I still I still stand I still stand on that What have you didn't have to say that if you didn't have the chance would you have said that if you might have thought it but what you had said it
- 5:53[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I think like, at the end of the day, we all know when she started drinking like your thoughts come out a little differently, or yeah, and true some thoughts.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_03]: Um, it was when, it was when, it was when, it was when Adley said, no, he said, no, I fucked that man.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that shit.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I said, you said that he said, man, yeah, fuck me.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_03]: I mean it, bro.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_03]: She is.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, bro.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_03]: I can't even say about to the ladies, bro.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: Like they just end up, they add the Uber.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_03]: They said, come on, let's go.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_03]: I said, bro.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's just like, No, it's over.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_03]: That's it, bro.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_03]: It's like a 30 minute walk to get to my truck, bro.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_07]: I ain't mean to pack it up like that, but that's the side.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_07]: That's just how I felt, man.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_07]: And most people that know me, no, I'm pretty like direct where I feel about things.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_07]: And it just came out even more than night.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_07]: The word that was used is something that I really don't use.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_07]: But, you know, was a lot of drink.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_07]: And then when attempted to get food, when it's a grand evening, they talking about, they don't have no chicken to go in our frito.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_07]: And they're like, okay, substitute it.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_07]: There's some difference in state.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_07]: Then as I'm waiting for the steak Alfredo, all of a sudden chicken come out.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_07]: Like all of a sudden chicken come out and then the chicken brick, like I'm talking about ice cold, the noodles ice cold.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_07]: So it was like, I couldn't even eat food or really like sober myself or bottle.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_07]: Or not even sober myself or be like, just get me back into the game.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_07]: You film me to rehydrate my body.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but at the end of the day, that's what happened and yes, I was I had some food not I think about it.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: I do know one thing though, I'm I'm snapping this because good love drinks like they prices.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't really find places in the city that I can tolerate their their their their prices for drinks.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_03]: Jerry and AJ if you tell me to kill it and find Apple is only 15 dollars in the city.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a good establishment.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and shout out shout out to you guys.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_07]: We can shout out to good look at either they actually uh just got nominated top five like Best new restaurant in DC Which is a huge Wayne it ain't like base sponsor in us.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they not I mean, they nice They nice boss.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_03]: You ain't got a shot them out.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_04]: I guess my opinion was a little skewed, but that's because mall cat telling me We had to order double so I only got like that one drink.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: I said it
- 8:25[SPEAKER_04]: You told me that you have to get a double with you order.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_04]: So I got one drink that should be I must have been bored.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, if you got a double cuz it the one is up.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah He was trying to catch me.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_04]: I I would only get the single of that was the case.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_04]: You were going to get doubles
- 8:48[SPEAKER_04]: I got one on my tab and then with AJ was like, no, just give the rest on my tab.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, I'm all of you.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, you got one on your tab and I was definitely, I was trying to get you to call it up.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_03]: That's the show because that's probably when you just came in there.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, my, yeah, I clearly was breath on these my, these my boys breath.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: Um, we're going to have to pop out for the joy if not it, you know, our our situations a little different but, um, where we had a month money ball.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_03]: What's that money ball?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_03]: Um, there was a quote, I'm afraid to show it on my, on my side because I don't want my, my computer to freeze, but I think what I can do.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_03]: is that I know a bookmarked it.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_03]: This was, I thought it was a quote, but I don't think it is actually.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: Where was, I love that sweet.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_03]: I actually did a bookmarked it.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: I bookmarked some other things, but most of all it is great.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like, I wish I could find an exact quote and maybe one of y'all can help me.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I know.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have it straight up, but I think was a sand though or somebody one of those ESPN writers.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_04]: He said that Washington, well, and a team exactly around the league said that Washington was pretty much making a revolving door sign is in free agency and they sing panic, which is a super weird to me because it's like
- 10:33[SPEAKER_04]: You had to do something, right?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: Like Washington had to go out there and make some moves this off season.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_04]: Now, if Washington didn't do anything this off season, as far as defensively, especially on that side of the football, then you would have said that they don't have any urgency.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: Then when they go out there and sign guys on a defensive side of the football is panic, like what else were they supposed to do with that defense?
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: They tried it out there for the 2020-25 season.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_04]: I just don't get it.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_04]: It just seems like sometimes it's damn if you do damn, if you don't.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I, I did forcefully like try to figure out from a, from a different perspective, like why somebody would say that, um, I do understand why a commander's, like a commander's fan base would push back on that sentiment, um, one is from an anonymous, it's anonymous sources, right?
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: Um, it's executives or GM, I think specifically what it was, some anonymous GM, who says something that nature, right?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: So you can, you can imagine like why there's some pushback to it.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so I can understand from the commander standpoint, but also try to put myself in like the shoes of somebody who's not so, uh, local right.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like, one of the things that we said, or we've come to know since we've interviewed somebody from KC, um, on a trapper that we did a film session on Odafe, Owe, we have our opinion on these guys.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_03]: Um,
- 11:56[SPEAKER_03]: And just overall, like some of the pieces defensively, Chego Conco was in the Senate Island, but defensively as well, you signed some of these bigger guys in all way in Leo, Chanel, right?
- 12:08[SPEAKER_03]: I want to say premiere contracts, but like we believe in you contracts.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if like the category how you would describe it, right?
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: But like we we we're betting on you type of money.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: And that's not breaking the bank, right?
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: But it's also like these are the guys that we chose.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: So from the, from that standpoint, like these are role players, Lucian, not only played 40% of the snaps for Kansas City, compared to Nick Bowen in the other guy who was playing 80% in higher.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: for putting a lot of backers, right?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: And we're, we're asking in the ocean, oh, not necessarily because we don't know what his role is going to be per se, right?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: But we're asking him to take an elevated role and whatever capacity that is, right?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: So that's one aspect.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: And then what I feel away,
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: Got the same thing.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: We want you to be our premier pass rusher.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_03]: And he was primarily a specialist for San Diego or Los Angeles, but like it wasn't like he was a full time player for them.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: And he didn't always play on rundowns, right?
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: So those are two elements that I think about.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, all right, those are your bigger sign as defensively.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: Cheg is somebody that you're betting on.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's not a complete player, but he is what Washington needs.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and that's kind of where I think about things like, you didn't really get the guys as you wanted that you reportedly wanted you missed out on Alec Pearson, Romeo Dobs.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_03]: Um, you're going to, to the draft with not necessarily, um, uh, a really good receiving receiving depth.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I can understand a perspective of like they didn't have a really good free agency.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_03]: And this is me again clarifying.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_03]: you got to put yourself in their shoes like there are ways to look at this and you say about you evaluate and say what could Washington have done better or where did they drop the ball or what are your concerns and I think that's fair do I agree on that side?
- 14:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think that Washington I tried to put myself in their shoes and like I understand your approach
- 14:18[SPEAKER_03]: And that's I say this with the last regime, if I understand your approach, the question after that is did it work.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'll understand it.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_03]: And I appreciate it.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: I have nothing wrong to say.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_03]: I like what they did.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a matter of doesn't work.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_03]: And we're by the find out.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I think so many times, like, especially in sports.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_07]: And if you come from a certain background, we think like, you know, in the streets, you know, if you gossip, you spread rumors, it's not like that you look the certain way, but man, these executives and most professions in the industry of the world, like whatever industry, they gossip.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_07]: And some like each other, some don't like each other.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_07]: You just really don't know what that person has been that it could be against Adam Peters.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_07]: You don't know
- 15:11[SPEAKER_07]: What it is, it could have been from back a days in Denver, New England, San Francisco, maybe they drafted a plan that they really sought out and thought they would get a gem.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_07]: And you know, 49 is right, but it's good that person.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_07]: So, okay, really read too much into it.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_07]: It's free agency.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_07]: You film me.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_07]: It's not like you had miles carried.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_07]: Micah Parsons, Max Crosby, Lamar Jackson on the block.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_07]: You've got guys that teams are
- 15:40[SPEAKER_07]: scared to really invest further funds into that they previously were on.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_07]: And, you know, he just hoped for the best.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_07]: That's the gamble.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_07]: That's the beauty of for agency.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_07]: That's why, you know, the tempering period was such a high drawn aspect for fans saying, Gaze bit, and a couple of weeks, we got another portion of that, but it's not called for agencies
- 16:09[SPEAKER_07]: Like, this is the reality of it.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_07]: So, you know, I wouldn't pay any attention to what the executive said, because at the end of the day, I also hate the anonymous stuff.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_07]: Like, if you feel that boldly about what you got to say, put your name on it.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_07]: Like,
- 16:24[SPEAKER_07]: If you, the GM, the New York judge or the Detroit lines or whatever the case is, you put your name on it.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_07]: If you feel that confidently, because at the end of the day, you also were doing a job.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_07]: That's someone got to look you in the mirror and see what the results are as well.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_07]: And I just think that everyone's not going to be a fan of you.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_07]: Some people just
- 16:48[SPEAKER_07]: Um, you know, if, if they don't work, somebody else don't begin interview for the job that don't be put in the same hot seat.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_07]: So, uh, you just hope that the guys that they did, and that's, you know, whether it be a one or three-year contract with, that they hit the mark and they reached the potential that they visualized for like a dafe over a Leo Chanel, uh, me, Robinson, Sugar Quarko, uh,
- 17:17[SPEAKER_07]: whoever is supposed to play their role, because football really, you know, have some key play, some elite guys, but most of the time is role players.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_07]: Like, look at this, you obviously don't just want to zoom on.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_07]: A lot of the guys that helped them achieve that goal and the championship with role players, they don't necessarily have, like, unleashed guys, they got guys that contributed, that may not have worked out at other places from a Leonard Williams to Ernest Jones.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_07]: The Mark is Lawrence.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_07]: You drafted some guys in a biomership, Devon Weatherspone.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_07]: You also had what Julian love.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_07]: He came over from the Giants and other places offensively samedonna.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_07]: you drafted you hit on Jason you film me so it's just it's all a collection of guys but you know most things that end up winning it all don't necessarily have a lead family thing more so that world players that do they damn job.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: Um let's go ahead and get into some draft talk right.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: I do think we we said we had to say about that um about anonymous
- 18:31[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, a opinion of the free agency, right, but Peter Schrager.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, he did a mock draft, right, and and his mock draft, he says that he only do, he only does two mock drafts every year.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_03]: Um, one, the week of March, I mean, April 4th and then the next one is going to be the week of the draft.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_03]: right so he's had weeks of conversation and he outlined everything to the way in which he had conversations.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_03]: I won't barely, he has Washington Commanders, draft and sunny styles on the lineback of the Ohio State and for those who are interested in the other popular names
- 19:25[SPEAKER_03]: David Bailey is number two goes to the New York Jets.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: Ruben Bane goes to the Saints right behind Washington.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_03]: Jordan Tyson goes to the chiefs at number nine, Mansour Delane, number 10 to LSU, Carnell Tate, number 11.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_03]: to Miami and two more Caleb Downs to the Dallas Cowboys number 12.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: And the Los Angeles Rams gets my Kyle Lemon at number 13.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: So for Washington,
- 20:05[SPEAKER_03]: Um, sunny style, she says, I believe Washington is going defense, uh, it gave up six yards per plan 2025 tile for the third worst styles shows a lot of the same trace that Fred Warner has displayed in San Francisco and Adam Peters, who came from San Francisco knows what Warner is meant for the Niners and all these years.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_03]: Styles had 77 tackles as a side line, a side line defender last season and a little bit combined with those measure rules that he did half he said he's like, he likes to fit.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_03]: Sunny Styles overall, it's funny.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: I was just listening to a conversation and I think it was with John Common, the linebacker coach for Ohio State.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_03]: And this crazy, I just knew his name because he just
- 20:56[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, I think was interesting with sunny, it also goes ties back to like the conversation that we just had about the all season.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the old Chanel is like, they're banging on him, but, you know, he's not a person who's played a heavy percent or a big role in the defense.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_03]: He's kind of like a versatile guy and Laura Knightess,
- 21:25[SPEAKER_03]: also mentioned that sunny style is kind of the same way, but he's played more awful, right?
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: So like you can kind of identify like what you want to do with them, but he can also if you wanted to just half him, watch the past and more.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's depends on how you want to use them.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_03]: Why still needs it?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_03]: You need as much help as you can get it on defense.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_03]: And also think that they shouldn't have to be able to stop as soon as the answer to replace Bobby Wagner.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_03]: If you can get more bodies in there at that position group, I say go for it.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think you can go wrong with sunny styles.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I mean, I think when you hear guys like Peter Schreger, who has a great philosophy on how he approach his mock drafts, if you think about it, he does a mock draft after the annual team owners meeting, where the coaches, the executives and owners are at, he gets to sit around those guys and in politics, go to their, get them, get them, like how long, how long was trying to get dragged last week.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_07]: and getting the soda beans and then he utilized the week of the draft because that's when even more talk is going on your hand about guys possibly trying to move up move back your hand about veterans on scenes possibly getting moved like those things so Peter is amazing at the way that he connects with not just the not just the executives but the coaches of these
- 23:03[SPEAKER_07]: so they trust him and they know that they could tell them certain things that he lives on those items.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, I think you should take credence to some styles.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_07]: It just makes sense.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, it's not too many for everyone.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_07]: It's just walking around the NFL, but the crazy thing about it is Fred was maybe a third or fourth round pick.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_07]: Where is any is possibly going to be one of these
- 23:34[SPEAKER_07]: Who do we have unless we we have somebody we don't for wrong?
- 23:38[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, we had on Doug where I asked him to you feel like, you know, sunny styles is worth a top 10 pic because you only see guys at that position middle line that could get him selected that high over the recent years has been a rock on Smith and then that one way you got two different career paths for those guys.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, you really don't see that then you also have, you know, the talks, I think was very intriguing as George Jeremiah love to Tennessee types.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_07]: That kind of tells you where he's getting a feel from like Robert Sala in their organization on where they depend on where they're deciding to go.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_07]: Who was the Giantspeak?
- 24:28[SPEAKER_07]: Mike, those things can shake up the board, even the pick I think he had with you.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Francis, you're more of a fool from Miami.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, too office alignment in the road here.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and then I think Cardinals he had are built Reese.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_07]: Like, yeah, all those, those, those three picks, like, can change the whole way the draft is played out.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_07]: Like, it can change everything, because now you put really,
- 24:55[SPEAKER_07]: only an option in my opinion for Washington is to go defense.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_07]: I don't see Cardinal take going that high and funny enough Peter doesn't see it either.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_07]: You've got him going with a level to Miami.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, I just think that you should take Credence into it and then also the the week of the draft.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see how that changes up from you know from back then to to now.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_04]: For me.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_04]: There's not a defensive hit that's kind of slotted in that area.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_04]: I watched tennis picking them would make me upset because outside of a Jeremiah love who falls in a spot like I want to go defense like I mean I understand we address defensive free agency, but I still think you can do more.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_04]: on that side of the football, and don't give me wrong.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_04]: I do still, you know, what more help for Jaden Danes on that office is a side of the football.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_04]: But in the same token where you talk about helping Jaden Danes on that side of the football, helping him out on the defense have been helps him out tremendously as well.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: But like he doesn't feel like he has to go out there and go out 40 points again.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_04]: If he knows he has a defense that can go out there and get stops and give him the ball back
- 26:11[SPEAKER_04]: And when you talk about a sunny stiles and I know Doug Ferrari, he also mentioned the same thing that a trigger mentioned when he talks about a frail warning when he mentions a sunny stiles.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_04]: Now obviously frail warning is a guy that Adam Peters was there for and San Francisco when they drafted him.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_04]: So it does make sense when that standpoint if they go that route.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_04]: And I know that Fred Warner was a meat-round draft pick for Frown Pick.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_04]: I think he was somewhere around there.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_04]: But if you had the chance to do a red draft and a draft, you'll take Fred Warner in the top 10 every time.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_04]: If you know what that Fred Warner's been going to become Fred Warner.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_04]: So if you think sunny styles can be a Fred Warner, you take him in the top 10 and you'll be happy with it.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_04]: You'll be just fine with it, especially if that's the outcome that comes to be.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_04]: My personal favorite of the divas of guys is Caleb Downs.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's still Caleb Downs.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I just think he, you know, you could you talk about the production where you talk about Caleb Downs.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_04]: You talk about a guy you've seen do it in so first and so.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you just can't go wrong with that player.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I know it's a safety.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_04]: I know you talk about positional value, but again, if he becomes what you think he becomes if he becomes top three to top five in his position in the NFL, you're damn happy.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_04]: we talked about a man sort of the lane.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_04]: I will be damn happy with a man sort of the lane.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, because you're supposed to help them put it back on.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to talk about a man sort of.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll be quick because Scott's of being doing this shortly.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like, Dre, you know what actually bothers me sometimes, because like,
- 27:41[SPEAKER_03]: I don't understand why, because Dorontaine Jones, this because he didn't have the talent at the corner of that position, I don't know if that drives, I don't, I think that helps support the narrative more so than like, I think if there was an actual talent, we're drafting in the top 10 or top 15 at corner back.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think they'll draft them.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like if they were good enough to draft, they would draft them and I think for however we say things worked out for the Vikings, I think that's the only way that kind of fits the narrative.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_03]: It's not like they chose against a cornerback, but what was probably better for the team?
- 28:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I think for Washington, if Mansour was available and they loved Mansour or even another cornerback that came from Miami, I know he was being talked about.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: So that may be like a tradeback option who knows.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_03]: If they grabbed the corner back in the first round, I think that says precedents, but at the same time, I don't, I think people are missing a mark with saying like, that's not what he needs.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_03]: If there's a top, if there's a elite talent, he's going to take it.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, my I agree 100% and you know, I talked about the line back in the safety positions.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_04]: People complained about those positions when they talked about positional value, but cornerback is a premium position and cornerback is still when you look at watch at 10s cornerback room.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_04]: That's what they need.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_04]: So if man sort of the lane, if you figure that he's the best that have a bunch, I
- 29:08[SPEAKER_04]: I'm taking him, you know, I'm not upset at all when I, if that's where you're going to go, and that's a guy that you probably can plug and play and start day one, because right now, as far as I look at it,
- 29:27[SPEAKER_04]: We still don't know what we're going to do with Mikey's service field.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_04]: We still don't know what Amik Robinson's for role is.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I assume they assigned them to be the slot corner back, but we kind of thought Mikey might be that, but again, Mikey says, I mean, I know he's better on the outside, but do you feel comfortable starting him for a four year on the outside?
- 29:45[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they just, they still need to upgrade that room.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_04]: And if a man sort of the lane is there, you take him.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_04]: I'm happy with it because I do think you're upgrading that room if you take a man sort of the lane.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_04]: So again, I'm happy, whatever direction they go, if they go on a defensive side of the football, the one and the only picks that I will be a little iffy it.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: And I know a lot of fans like him is, a carnail tape, like I just don't see that in the top 10 for me.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_04]: That doesn't excite me in the top 10.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_04]: Unless you can just like convince me this guy's a bonafide number one.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: He's just in Jefferson and a making or something like that then maybe I can see it But right now, I don't see that and I just think that'll be a little bit of a stretch for me to kind of go there and that's not one that will make me excited but again Outside of a German love for running that I will prefer to go on a defensive side of the ball and any of the guys we mentioned on that side that I will be extremely happy with Well, let's um
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: I'm bringing an office of that, you know, I'm sure we were to ask a former office of coordinator who they would prefer in the top 10.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_03]: Matter of fact, let's just ask them.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_03]: Joining us right now is a former commanders football team.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: offensive court.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_03]: I was trying to think for his games was before before it's no, he was here.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's yeah.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: Three.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Three.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: Three.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: Three, even around for three, nine changes.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_03]: But, but former Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner is joining this right now.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_03]: Scott, welcome to the chop of that podcast.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate you joining us and taking some time to talk to involved with this.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_03]: How are you doing this evening?
- 31:27[SPEAKER_08]: doing well.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_08]: Thanks for, thanks for having me.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_08]: You got me.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_08]: Everything good?
- 31:32[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, sir.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: Good, man.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_08]: No, I heard you on the intro.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_08]: So I never actually coached for the Redskins.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_08]: So I got hired by the Redskins in 2020 and then the name change happened.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_08]: You know, there was COVID and the name change happened.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_08]: So I coach two years for the football team and then and then one season, first season for the for the commanders, but it is
- 31:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, okay, you know what that was here when he was the race.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_04]: You won't say a line a couple of times.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_08]: Oh yeah, I was on the sideline a bunch, yeah.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_08]: And now that was seven, seven years, seven years of culture for the Red Tins and BNB and they're obviously living in the area.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_08]: So I've got a lot of history with the organization.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_03]: But before we get to how your time was here, I love to know like from a coach and perspective and what you've come to know from being around coaches, being around professional football up until that moment, you started getting your own opportunities as you got older.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_03]: Like what is one of the bigger lessons that you just held on to from a young Scott Turner
- 32:43[SPEAKER_03]: before he was getting those employment options, employment opportunities to like as a coach.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: What are some of those things you just held on to as you got further into your career?
- 32:52[SPEAKER_08]: You know, the biggest thing about coaching is it's a relationship business, you know, and, and these are people, you're human beings that you're dealing with and you want to get the boasts.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, that's the job of a coach is to get the most out of a player and get those guys to perform at their best and then ultimately, you know, that that leads to wins and in order to do that, you know, you got to build relationships with people, whether it's.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_08]: You know, the other coaches understand that the players, and that's that's the one thing that stuck with me, which is watching other coaches or how people operated is like the best coaches were the guys that You know engage your players the best and got the most out of them through the relationship.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_08]: Sometimes that that that looks at different whether it's you know chewing somebody out or or.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_08]: Or the opposite of that, you know, there's different ways to do it based on the individual, but just the relationships.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_08]: And then the other part of it was just never never stop learning.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_08]: You know, never stop learning.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_08]: Never stop growing.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_08]: This game is is changing.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_08]: We all know like there's fun.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_08]: The metals involved and there's certain things that are going to.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_08]: You know, tackling and and throwing and catching and all that kind of things, the physicality that comes with football, but you know, scheme wise, there's a lot of new things going like I said with people people change, you know, these the younger generations, you got you reach them differently.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_08]: So never stop learning, never stop growing.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_08]: And then just value the people, you know what I mean, and make sure they know that you value them.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_08]: And that's how you're going to, that's how you're going to get the most out of people.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_08]: I believe and you know, I've seen.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'll just add right quick because I think one thing that you mentioned was interesting Scott is like the scheme aspect and just like the evolution of football, right?
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: Washington had an office of coordinated in the last two years in Cliff Kingsbury.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: uh and you know his offense ultimately from Dan cleanse perspective and and how he said it just it they just wanted to go a different direction right um one of the bigger things is just like an undercenter approach um and i mean
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: You just pay attention and not you literally but you just notice one thing.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_03]: He just doesn't do it doesn't do it that's not do it that much Wanted to lower in the league in terms of race and and I think what's important here for Washington Like they they make a big deal about being under center now The fan base in the the media like they they harp on it and they zero in on that thing But I mean it's kind of normal around the way I like to know from your perspective
- 35:22[SPEAKER_03]: Just how much evolution or diversity can you have in an offense when you're able to like change that alignment in the backfield from under center to pistol to shotgun and the frequency of it.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I think the under center part of it and obviously it's really popular in the league and you see a lot of different schemes.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_08]: A lot of the shenan, the floor, McVay, those that scheme obviously has moved through the league.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously Ben Johnson, it was what you guys, David Blow and he's gonna take a lot of different, I'm sure, a lot of different things from,
- 36:02[SPEAKER_08]: other coaches he's learned, but being under center just gives you the threat of the run game, you know, I think a lot of it has to do with your quarterback and what his comfort level is.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_08]: I know they're going to be under center more, but like Jaden Day is like playing in the gun.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_08]: So they're going to still be in the gun quite a bit.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_08]: They probably won't be the number one gut rate gun team in the league, you know, like they were, but they were still over.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_08]: They third in the league and rushing.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_08]: So it's not like, you know,
- 36:26[SPEAKER_08]: it's not like they didn't have a rushing attack, you know, I think they're going to have the, you know, I'm sure they're already started the process and other players aren't in the building yet, you know, for phase one, but I'm sure there's some bent conversation and communication with, with Jayden and you got to build the, you got to build it around, around him.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_08]: He's obviously the most important part of the organization and, and offense and, you know, you want to push him and you want to get him to learn new things and get out of his comfort,
- 36:53[SPEAKER_08]: zone and you know make up a better player.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sure playing under center at some point, but you also want him to do the things that got him, you know, to have that outstanding rookie year.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_08]: And even with playing, it's not like he was playing bad he had some injury issues.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_08]: And I think that ultimately, you know, I don't know this.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_08]: I'm speculating, but I think that some of that, you know, being able to protect him had to do with some of the decisions that were made as well.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, Cliff did a great job.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you look at what he did two years ago.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_08]: going to the university championship game and the success day on offense and then even this past season like with a lot of injuries, you know, they were pretty formidable on offense.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_08]: So and again, you know, if it was a they didn't see eye to eye and and cliff decided, you know, they parted ways.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_08]: But there's a lot of different ways to move the football on score points as we've seen, you know, right now, again, like you said, the under center is popular.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_08]: And you know how fans are.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_08]: And I'm not trying because I caught a lot of the brunt of it, too.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_08]: you know, everybody wants what they don't have, you know?
- 37:59[SPEAKER_08]: So it's like you see these teams play an under center and Sean McVay and Seattle and they're the answer to the championship game and they create explosive plays with the hard play acts from a runner center, which you don't really get from the shotgun and the fan base, you know, they want that, you know what I mean?
- 38:15[SPEAKER_08]: So, and now all of a sudden, you know, you just, you get next year and James if he's under center and I'm sure he'll adapt well, but if he doesn't,
- 38:23[SPEAKER_08]: If it doesn't translate, people are going to say, well, why isn't he in gun more, he was had so much success playing in gun, you know, so ultimately like you win games, you score points, people are people are going to be happy and and and and then always of all, you know, there's there's different ways to do it, whether it's under center gun or or the pistol.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_07]: So, Scott, I'm very intrigued, you know, I really want to see if we can get an in-depth answer for you for our listeners because not too many times, you know, they get this opportunity to be in front of an office coordinator on an NFL level, and especially one of your, your caliber, you kind of started in what you're, you've made 30s when you first got the job as OC for Washington,
- 39:13[SPEAKER_07]: what prepares you for that moment of becoming an office coordinator and what things you think you could have done differently as far as like situational aspects of game planning or the preparation of entering, you know, the phase one, the phase two training camp and
- 39:30[SPEAKER_07]: different installs like what things you think that they've applied was going through in his mind now being the new coordinator for Washington Commanders.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_07]: He's never ever called plays before aside from being in the hardware as an NFL quarterback.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I think, you know, I've heard a lot of really good things about him.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sure he's learned a lot from the different coaches.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_08]: He's been around whether as a player or as assistant coach.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, I'm sure, like, like I did, I'm sure he's doing a lot, like leaning on those guys and asking a lot of questions.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_08]: I'm fortunate, you know, my dad obviously was a call plays in the NFL.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_08]: It was actually weird joking about it with, I was joking on somebody that he called plays in the NFL from 1991.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_08]: to 2019 he missed 2017 but other than that he called plays like and that's that's crazy that's a long stretch you know I mean and so for me in 2020 when I took over is the you know the play car and Washington like I had always had him the lean on I watched so many games whether is you know just as his son and like as a fan or
- 40:35[SPEAKER_08]: then us coaching together, you know, I was fortunate to be involved that heavily involved in game planning both with him and then also with other coaches that I've been with in the past.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_08]: And you, you kind of, it doesn't just happen overnight.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_08]: in this profession, like you have an idea that like, you know, you want to be a coordinator someday.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_08]: So as you're around these other coaches, like you take things and you kind of, you know, jot it down to your notes or take a mental note of like, this is something I really like.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_08]: I'm going to do that or this is, I don't really like that.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_08]: I think it's a waste of time.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not going to, I'm not going to do that if I, if I get my opportunity.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_08]: And then when your time comes,
- 41:13[SPEAKER_08]: you try to be as thorough as you can.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_08]: The thing that I always did, and I tried to improve on every year, and I still think you fall short of it, it's just focusing on what's important.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_08]: You only have so much time with the players, especially in the off season, and you have all these grand ideas.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_08]: You know, all of a sudden, like, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're done and the, the meetings over and you don't, you know, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you
- 41:54[SPEAKER_08]: You know, the third down or the red zone or two minute clock management, making players aware that was something that like I got I worked for Josh McDaniels at the Raiders at the situational things that we went over as a team and it was all the situations that I knew but we didn't like in Washington we didn't necessarily like expose our players to it and much so like I feel like we didn't like like we got in the
- 42:19[SPEAKER_08]: You know, there's 15 seconds left and there was no timeouts like a down down situation where like you completed all you got to get down as fast as you can so we can get up and spike it like we would hit on those situations, but I think we could have been a lot more thorough and then I have been more thorough at the different places that I've been you know, since then and that that's something that I that I learned really being in around that exposed that patriot system, which was I was at the Raiders at the time, but it's you know, Josh McTans who learned it from.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_08]: from Bill and just how thorough that part of it was.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_08]: That was something that I wasn't necessarily exposed to until I got around those guys.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_07]: Did you and your dad ever like role play like when you did take on the job?
- 43:00[SPEAKER_07]: Because I think if I'm not mistaken, when you did get the job, that's the first time when your father returned back to the Washington like off in general.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, it's starting at the 43 yard line.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_07]: What are you going to call it here?
- 43:21[SPEAKER_07]: Did you guys have any type of conversations?
- 43:24[SPEAKER_08]: Not really.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_08]: We would talk more about just specifically what a defense was doing or he would watch film and he would give me ideas and it would stuff that I already seen.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_08]: A lot of times when you talk about third night on the 40, if you don't know, if you haven't,
- 43:41[SPEAKER_08]: You don't know what you're going to call if you don't know like what the defense is like what like you know What was their coverage is break what's our coverage break that one surplus percentage in 3rd and 7 to 10 and then you're going to you know You got it think about the protection and the routes and all that kind of stuff So we didn't necessarily do that, but we would just kind of brainstorm he would watch film on his own and give me some ideas and I would run some things by him that I was thinking about as well as obviously leaning leaning on my like my staff
- 44:08[SPEAKER_08]: But no, he was always involved.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_08]: He had a, we sent him an iPad to watch all our practices and games and everything that and teams run up league and so we always kind of open, open conversation that way.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_08]: But yeah, no, he, it was crazy because I got hired and then we didn't even have an off season because of COVID and then he ended up, you know, coming back, he couldn't come in at all that whole 2020 season and then in 2021, once everyone got the vaccine and everything.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_08]: Then.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_08]: uh, then he was able to to be around.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_08]: Um, but it was obviously that was a really, uh, I was a weird time.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_08]: This is the, I don't know if you see, I got my, the Alex Smith jersey.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_06]: That was the one he actually was.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_08]: He was, that's the one, that's the one that, that game was, that he actually wore that, that was it from the Thanksgiving game.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_08]: We blew out the Cowboys, um, in that, that COVID year.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_04]: Great moment.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_04]: And, um, for me,
- 44:57[SPEAKER_04]: You know, what a new coordinator like a David Blow coming in fans, I'm going to speculate like what's he going to do?
- 45:03[SPEAKER_04]: How's he going to adjust to a jaded or what's the system going to be?
- 45:07[SPEAKER_04]: But from your experience and you can kind of lean into some of your experience, especially from your time of Washington, how important is it for coordinated to adapt to the quarterback versus kind of the quarterback fit into a system?
- 45:21[SPEAKER_08]: 100% like it 100% is and I'm not I'm not saying that I always did it, but I always tried to do it.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_08]: Like when we had Alex or like even, you know, we had Alex and then, you know, we had a bunch of different guys that season, but like fits fits Patrick and then when Taylor came in, like I knew it was going to be a different type of different type of game, you know, with with those two players and you got to try to play to your guys strengths and do what he does well while at the same time, like.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_08]: as a coach like you got to put and that's what the lot of times with the off-season foreign training camp is like all right this quarterback hasn't necessarily done this but because of his skill set you think he can be really good at it so you put it in in the off-season and sometimes the player thrives and it's great and other times it doesn't work and you say all right well you know we tried it you know I mean this isn't a fit for for our guy but you know I think you have to you have to build
- 46:15[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, you have your scheme and you have the foundation of your offense and everybody in the league.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_08]: I've been around a lot of different offensive systems.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_08]: Everyone's got too much offense.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, everyone's got a ton of players.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_08]: There's no way you could run all of them.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_08]: But what it does is then you take that.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_08]: When you do your installation and you see your team and your quarterback and you're running back and your receivers or whatever and you recognize what they do well and then that that scheme evolves, you know, based on, you know, your player skill sets and then when they start doing a lot of things well, that's when you start getting really good.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_08]: Because you continue to grow and grow, you know, with that.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_03]: So I got two things.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: You.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: around Terry McClure for a long time and I would love to know first, you're just a opinion on your experience working alongside and coaching Terry, but also a
- 47:23[SPEAKER_03]: and a Scott Turner system, like, what do you want out of your number one X receiver?
- 47:29[SPEAKER_03]: What do you need out of this person and how would you like to use them?
- 47:33[SPEAKER_03]: So, Terry McClellan and then, like, your ideal bill for a receiver.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_08]: You know, Terry was outstanding for me.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, you know, 3,000 yard seasons, you know, we played a lot.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_08]: We played the first, if we had played at least three quarterbacks every year.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, he, it was hard for him to, that's crazy.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, I'm sorry, but that's just, that's insane.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_08]: Well, he started, yeah, we started four in 2020.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_08]: And that was the year we actually went to the playoffs.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_08]: And then we started three in 21 and then three again in 22.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, it is, it's crazy.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, it's just part of the,
- 48:08[SPEAKER_08]: part of the business you know and but Terry was always able to find success you know Taylor obviously really trusted him and would give him opportunities to go make plays and and Terry like it doesn't always look exactly like it's supposed to but like he always like he he's so tough and competitive.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_08]: that he just, you know, he fights for the ball and he makes contests to catch his, you know, and he always shows up and plays through injury and, you know, I got a lot of respect for Terry and really appreciate everything he did for me.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_08]: When I was able to work for, you know, work with them and coach him and, um,
- 48:44[SPEAKER_08]: You know, the ideal X, you know, receiver, you know, just, you know, it doesn't, like we, I've had different guys and we had Terry McClaro, we had, we had digs still on digs play X for us, we are Minnesota, you know, we had DJ more play X for us in Carolina, there's different, you know, different size, but the one number one thing is they got a win versus one on one coverage, like,
- 49:06[SPEAKER_08]: they got to be able to win versus one-on-one consistently, you know, because in the, you know, our offense, like if you get, if you get the X-one-on-one, like you want to throw in the ball, like that's your guy.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_08]: So, and then it forces teams to, you know, whether they cloud them or play special attention, which again, will open up the run gamer opportunities for other people opportunities to throw the ball in the middle of the field.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I guess the number one guy
- 49:32[SPEAKER_08]: that I could tie.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if they make it and make it any better than him was, you know, I had Josh Gordon in 2013.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_08]: I was a receiver.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_08]: I was a receiver coach and, you know, he was, you're going to go high weight.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, he was 6, 3 or 6, 3, 2, 37 and like 7% body fat.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_08]: just unbelievable.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_08]: He's a 400 runner.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_08]: He was just so strong.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_08]: I was actually down at my brother then coach.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_08]: He works at University South Carolina and I take it sales.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_08]: I was down there and I went to practice and I was talking to Kindle Briles, who had Josh at Baylor and we were talking about him how much of a freaky he is and unfortunately had some issues off the field in this career.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_08]: But the year that I was a chief coach for in 2013, he had led the league receiving and
- 50:17[SPEAKER_08]: I was almost 20 yards of catch, which is which I'm believable with you.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_08]: We have almost 1700 years of receiving, but that size and being able to separate and run away from people, but they don't, you know, they don't make it.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, there's not a lot of people like him walking the face of the earth, but the biggest thing is just, just got to be able to win and, and separation really is.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_08]: is the the name of the game and you got to you got to be able to get open because the contestant catches you know they're they're they're the two low percentage you know ultimately like you got to be able to create separation if you're going to be a true number one receiver
- 50:51[SPEAKER_07]: So Scott, Washington also is hiring a new defensive coordinator at first time NFL as well, the Rotate Jones who we expect to run a similar system to Brian Flores.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_07]: I know that back in your days as the office coordinator, yes, you probably didn't call the plays, but you have a league where involved with Johnson and Daniel.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_07]: in the game plan, Raiders did play the Vikings.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_07]: It was a three nothing game, that was a hard to bring that up.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_08]: But it's okay, Josh, Josh had been like, go at that point.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, that was we we we lost three nothing and then on Sunday and then we played on Thursday and we won 63 to 21.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_08]: So we said, well, we average 36 points a game over our last two games.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, it didn't.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you like to win, but the, but the,
- 51:47[SPEAKER_08]: No, the Brian Forers, I mean, he creates so many problems and they're only getting better and better there because they're getting the players that fit his personnel and you know, I don't know if Washington I'm assuming Washington's gonna do a similar scheme.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_08]: What he does such a great job of is he gets those guys that are kind of like
- 52:06[SPEAKER_08]: the tweeners.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_08]: You know what I mean?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_08]: They're like a linebacker slash defense alignment or like a safety slash linebacker.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_08]: You know what I mean?
- 52:15[SPEAKER_08]: 44, you know, Michele, what does it tell us exactly?
- 52:21[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, who's like a Swiss army knife because he could do so much and I'm not.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_08]: I know the roster's changed, I'm not totally up today with the defense of personnel with Washington, but I'm sure that that's what they're doing right now is figuring out who we're going to be those guys, because for us, what his deal is he'll give you the same look, and he might be bringing seven, or he might be bringing three and dropping everybody out getting to some form of cover two.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_08]: He does an outstanding job.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_08]: They're self-scout must be
- 52:54[SPEAKER_08]: you know, making it all look the same, you know what I mean?
- 52:57[SPEAKER_08]: Because you try to do it with cadence and try to see who's popping out and adjust the protection obviously you only got a 42nd clock.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_08]: But that's the beauty of his system is just, you know, create and have it.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, when you do that, like you're going to give up some explosive plays.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_08]: But then you got it, you're going to create some negative plays as well.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_08]: And you just can't be afraid to keep, you know, firing the gun as a defense coordinator and that system if you get.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_08]: You know, if you get gashed, I mean, because it's, if you're going to, you know, you're going to play that aggressively.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_08]: It's going to happen and you just got to make, you know, at the end, you got to hopefully, you make more big plays, where they're, it's sacks, turnovers, you know, whatever force fumbles, those types of things, you got to make more plays than.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_08]: than the offense does and it's exciting for football and it's tough to go against.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_08]: It's really tough to prepare against, going through the week as far as, especially you get to the third down packages and what floor has done a good job of is like, he'll get into those third down packages on like second and eight, second and nine, like, you know, passing situation.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_08]: because, you know, whatever the tendency is that the offense is going to be thrown in the ball there.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_08]: So he doesn't wait, you know, and he creates a lot of problems, a lot of free hitters on the quarterback.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_08]: And I think it's going to be exciting for Washington and the fans to have that type of defense.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_07]: So what I was, what I was trying to get to with the draft in Washington being the seventh pick overall and you already seeing a Brian Flores defensive use just for the past, the past game coordinator for the judge so you seeing guys like a Kyle Hamilton recently over the years or whatever, what defensive archetype, especially with Washington being on the board at seven possibly being able
- 54:40[SPEAKER_07]: came with down from Ohio State at safety at some styles, lineback or from Ohio State, or even a cornback like Mansour Delane.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_07]: With you, it having the knowledge of a B-flow system, and you having the office regain plan against that, what position, if at a lead level, would give you more issue.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_07]: The cornback, the versatile safety, or the versatile lineback,
- 55:05[SPEAKER_08]: I think in the Florida system, I think that that lineback or safety kind of hybrid or like the lineback or D-line hybrid, I think that's going to give you more of an impact than necessarily a cornerback just because he's not like his man coverage is a lot of like zero where you're going to get an extra ruster where the corners are on the island.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_08]: the balls expected to come out quick.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_08]: I think you want guys that can play in the box, but also drop back in coverage that are going to affect the quarterback and get to them again.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_08]: If the corner, if he ends up being a much better player,
- 55:43[SPEAKER_08]: like if they have a higher grade on them than those other two positions, I don't think that's necessarily the case.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_08]: Then you take the corner, but I just think purely in that defensive scheme, the players that are going to be closer to the ball in affecting it more.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_08]: than a true like cover corner because they're not like a four-man rush cover one team where it's just you expect them to go lock it up like they want guys that are going to create issues inside the scheme and a versatile type player is someone that like Van Ginkl you know that he's been a fricking terror for the Vikings and he's that hybrid de-in blind backer type and I think he's been had more of an impact than even than some of the you know
- 56:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, in my last question, Scott, and this kind of goes to kind of Washington's care situation, but you have a David Blau, he's working under a defense of mind, a coaching and day in clean.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_04]: You worked under similar circumstances with a robber of error who was more defense of mind it.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_04]: Do you feel like in your situation, you know, as the office of court, maybe that you have like full autonomy to kind of do what you want it on the office of in order to ask where Ron kind of was like, hey, Scott, you know, I want to kind of do this, and you know, maybe you weren't able to do
- 57:00[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, so, you know, that's an interesting question because, you know, there was, you know, I did get as far as like I ran the offense, like no, he didn't tell me like what plays to run or anything like that.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_08]: Now, like.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_08]: There were times where it's like we need to run the ball more.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_08]: We need to, you know, and a lot of times just it is what it is.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_08]: Like defensive, cold coaches like they want that because they want the clock to run.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_08]: You know what I mean?
- 57:32[SPEAKER_08]: So they don't, you know, and that's where the thought process is.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, sometimes it's offensive, it coach.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_08]: Like, you know, you want to run the ball, you want to control the ball too.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_08]: But you want to create explosive plays.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_08]: Like, you're an offensive coordinator.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_08]: Like the way to winning football games is
- 57:46[SPEAKER_08]: creating explosive.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_08]: That's how you score points.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_08]: You're not going to consistently go on 12 to 15 play drives.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_08]: You've got to eat up chunks of the field and it's just hard to create explosive plays with a lot of, with just consistently running the ball.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_08]: Eventually, you're going to have a zero-yard run.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_08]: Now you're behind the sticks.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_08]: Divas knows if you're doing, you know, whatever you get some of those crazy exotic pressures I was talking about with, with Flores, you know, and this is a long, you know, a discussion, but like the best time to throw the football is first and ten because that's when the defense is playing for everything, right?
- 58:19[SPEAKER_08]: Like it's the, you know, first and ten or second and sure, but, you know, that's when, you know, you kind of, you have all the ammo at your disposal because
- 58:30[SPEAKER_08]: You know, and and that's certainly sometimes deep as closer to see it that way, but to answer question, um, yeah, I mean, I installed the offense.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_08]: I wanted to that we're meeting with our office staff with what we thought fit our players, you know, again, we, we like we talked about playing different quarterbacks.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_08]: But my last year in Washington, we put us are five different centers over the course of a 17 game season.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_08]: So like,
- 58:50[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we had some injuries and you had, you know, sometimes, you know, the offensive line maybe we wanted to run some more outside zone, but our guys weren't great at it.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_08]: So we became more of a downhill running team and play action off of that.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_08]: But, you know, the only thing I got and it's pretty common for my think defense coaches is just.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we need to write more, we need to write it more and it just gets you into a style play and that's kind of why we had some of those lower scoring games and that year in 2022, you know, our defense played the few stuff stuff so we didn't give it to the league and we'd let the league in time to position and, you know, again, we went 181 that didn't help us offensive stat wise, but it gave us some opportunities in games and.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_08]: Ultimately, it came down to those two giant games that we tied and lost or we would have been in the playoffs, but you know, again, those are long long memories that prior life, but, but no, I mean, and I don't know like the dynamic with with Dan Quinn and Dave Wow, you know, I think,
- 59:47[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I'm sure that he trusts him and that's why he hired him, you know, any time you're in the head coach at your team and it's your, it's your, but that, the way that that works, the best I feel like is when there's conversation beforehand, the head coach is aware of the offensive game plan.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_08]: And then, you know, there's no, there's no surprises.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I mean, like this is what we're going to do and this is how we plan to tackle and then, you know, you talk in between series if those, if those things change.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_08]: You know, if the plan has to have to change, I should say.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_07]: Just pulling it out there real quick, because you were also with another defensive minded head coaching with the jet just last year.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_07]: As the past the coordinator, did he have the same philosophy as Romna Veres, like I want to run it all in, or was he above more modern approach of those big talk of yards?
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_08]: No, I mean, he wanted to get exposed to the past.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_08]: We knew that we were going to have to lean on the running game.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_08]: We didn't do a great job of it.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_08]: Early in the season, we did all right.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_08]: But we had to, you know, the strength of our team was offensive line and breeze.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_08]: So it was a little bit of a different circumstance, too.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_08]: And then, you know, with Justin, you know, we wanted to be ahead of the sticks.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_08]: Let him play a, you know, plaques and past.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, there were some of that, too.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_08]: It was a little different, just because the reasons were a little bit different.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_08]: Um, but, but no, there was some of that too with the defensive guys of, you know, about it, but it's not all bad.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_08]: I don't say it negatively because there's a physicality was running all like the offensive line, like they, they want to run the box.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_08]: They want to be able to set their pads and come off the ball and, and they want the defensive line.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_08]: to not just have their ears pinned back rushing the passer all the time and that's what that's where like I've gotten into conversations with guys like I'm not anti-run the ball but the problem is if you don't throw the ball on early downs early in the game and get lead
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_08]: Then in the second half, you need to run at the ball.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_08]: You're losing and you're throwing it all the time.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_08]: And now you're going to get sack all the time because they know you're one dimensional.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_08]: So you've got to create those explosive plays in the past game early in the game so that you set the tempo.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_08]: And then you could run it.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_08]: It's a little expression you throw to score and you run to win.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_08]: A lot of the great rushing teams, they're running the ball in the fourth quarter with a 10 point lead because they want to shorten the game and get out of there with the win.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_08]: It's not that they're running the ball, the whole game, it's they have established a lead and then they're able to impose their will on guys.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_03]: Ladies and gentlemen, Scott Turner.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_03]: You can find him on socials at his name at Scott Turner.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_03]: So you mentioned Coach Elash here, you were taking some time with the spending with the family and doing young people a little bit.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, so I got like, you know, I got like over the jets and, you know, I looked at their explosive options and nothing really came up or just just didn't work out.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, I, this year is going to take this year and spend with my family and then get back in it, you know, after the season, I'm going to visit some people.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_08]: And again, like I said, try to keep learning.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_08]: And you know, do some stuff like this.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I appreciate you guys having me on this as good.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_08]: I was like, always like talking ball.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_08]: And it'll be interesting to see what happens in this draft.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_08]: There's a lot of variance.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_08]: It's not like some years, you kind of know how it's going to fall.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_08]: And this year, other than the first pick, like it's pretty wide open.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_08]: And you know, so, but yeah, no, it's good to talk to you guys.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_08]: And yeah, I'm going to do some more stuff like this.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_08]: And yeah, I got my two young kids.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_08]: So I love in your old boy, 9-year-old girl.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_03]: And see what the spring break spring break just came around in it for the last time.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we just had it.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_08]: So that's why we went down and saw my brother and down in South Carolina and we got in and then like I said, I went and I can't get away from it always though.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_08]: I went and watch practice.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_08]: What's just what South Carolina practice with those guys.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_06]: I was going to say what you thought about a Nick Harbour in the North Seller's.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_06]: They look good on John's board.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_06]: Nick Harbour, I must mean at the same body type of a Southwood.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_08]: He's not quite like the thing about Josh was like for being as big as he was.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_08]: He's so fluid.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_08]: You know what I mean?
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_08]: Nick Harbour, like he's a really good player, but he's a big straight line guy.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_08]: And no, it was exciting.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_08]: And Seller was good to see him, to see him in person.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_08]: You know, it'll be a good evaluation coming out and I had a little bit of a rough year last year, but he's got all the, you know, all the ability, so it'll be good to see and it's just so crazy like every year.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, this time last year when we're talking about, well, this quarterback class is all right, but the 26 last going to be better.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_08]: And now everyone's like, well, this quarterback class is all right, but the 27 class, it's going to be, you know, I mean, everyone like, you know, because you, what happens is that it happens with like young rookie quarterbacks too.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_08]: is like you see a small sample size and the positive play is really stick out and then the more they play like I don't know who you are like you're going to get some negative play and then these guys just start getting they start getting picked apart you know I mean you start picking these guys apart and it's happened it happens every year I mean it's like it's and people like forget that it happens every year too which is which is kind of get a kick out
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_03]: Scott Scotty saying this I'm saying is but it's not like a guy a UT that you know they found the small place that they loved and when that exposure came he had that full of time a starting role I mean yeah and I don't know and I actually think and I agree with you that it did but he actually played great down the stretch and I think in another year and cars would be good for him
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_08]: But no, I mean, even what's his every buddy, I mean Carson Beck was supposed to be the one picking the draft through a lot of our true love was going to be it was not somewhere.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, how many that's where how many like all these guy, I mean, we've even knew for who Fernando and then those of was very few people did at this time last year, you know, so and they were talking about how good the class was going to be and they didn't even know who the guy is going to be first overall is and now the class is bad.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_08]: You know, it means so like, you know, it just, it always changes and the evaluation is always ongoing and it's a hard position to play.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I mean, quarterback's the hardest position to sports and, you know, and it's a lot that goes into it, other than just playing too.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, being able to deal with the pressure of of that position is tough.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_08]: It's not for everybody, you know, and that, you know, the more that they have that pressure on, I mean, even in college nowadays with the expectations, like,
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_08]: you know, sometimes they can't handle your players can't handle it and and and that kind of that kind of gets exposed to you know, so Yeah, it's gotten just for me my last thing.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, just my unsolicited advice because I think I think your bro your mind just like your dad But if ever given the opportunity, I think you kill it at the college level man.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_04]: You could some kind of opportunity at that level.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_04]: I think you kill it, man.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I appreciate it and you know, I'm open to it.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_08]: Like I said, I did the good thing, you know, the thing about, you know, when you coach in NFL, like, when, when I, by the time I got, you know, let go and there's another direction, like the college job cycle was over.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_08]: So now I've been able to take a year off like, and stuff starts happening around Thanksgiving or whatever, like, I'm open to that and, you know, just kind of see what what fits and what's right for me and, and my family at the time, but,
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_08]: No, I just love football man.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you think you guys can tell just talk in and whether it's college or pro and just be in a part of the game and it's obviously done a lot for me and my life and my family and just be able to give back to people and be around the game is what is what I ultimately want to do.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_07]: And I can speak from, I can speak from my colors.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_07]: I think this has been one of the more refreshing conversations that we've had in the years that we've been doing.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_07]: And we've had a lot of marquee people on here.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_07]: But it's very rare that we've been able to have like an office of coordinator that is still in the grind of it up.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_07]: Like I said, you're just with the jet last year's past game coordinator.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I hope that we can have you on even more when you get some time away from the family.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe, are you still in North Virginia?
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_08]: No, I mean, I'm in Jersey still, but we're actually my family and my wife from Pittsburgh.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_08]: So we're going to move back there at the beginning of May.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_08]: We're going to spend, you know, we're going to get a house out there and kind of get a home base where we'll probably keep it forever and my wife's whole family's out there.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_08]: So we're going to get over it and get out there.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_08]: But I mean, I come back to Northern Virginia a bunch.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_08]: I got a bunch of friends down there and come down and play golf forever.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_08]: So I'll be around and yeah, you guys keep a touch with.
- 1:08:36[SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_03]: Well, uh, well, all the beer rounds got in the meantime and enjoy your family.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_03]: Best of luck this offseason and everything that you want to get out of this offseason for your boss man.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_03]: Take care.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_08]: All right, appreciate you guys.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, sir.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_03]: There is Scott Turner and we can go here.
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_03]: Boom.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_03]: And boom.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_03]: All right, hey, Brad.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_03]: What an interview, as you're not lying, it's, I think somebody who's enthusiastic to talk about football in the way in which Scott Turner was, um, everybody who was listening live, uh, I hope you all was able to take some nuggets from that, um, and I did see some of the comments, Kevin was appreciating checking in, um, and definitely was a good conversation,
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_03]: uh, Barack, I'm gonna need you to show a little bit more respect though.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't want to call.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't want to say none in the moment, bring attention to what you were saying, but uh, I don't know.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't gauge your tone through the text.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna come on, Brad.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you got it.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_03]: Just keep that in mind when we get against them.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_03]: I know you mess with the show.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, it's, it's no, you, you, you good with us.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_03]: Just keep that in mind.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_03]: Cause that's, that's it.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_07]: We just, we just, we just, they can see the comments just
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_07]: at the end of the day, as I even just stayed on here, it's very rare that you get to have an office coordinator come on to a show, especially like our platform and have these in-depth conversations about the exes of OZ and touch on their football acumen.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, just imagine his dad was fucking north-turned.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_07]: Like all these Dallas Cowboys fans that y'all love, I mean, that a lot of people,
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_07]: Our fans of he's the brain trust behind that office with Michael Irvin, Troy Eggman and Smith.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_07]: You know.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_07]: Some of the other offices, yeah, like being was living and breathing that as a kid and then elevated to this position.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, maybe things didn't look the greatest in Washington, but that's still a guy that is respected among the lead.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_07]: He's only 43 years old.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_07]: I'm 39.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_07]: So just to put that in perspective, it's only 43.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, a on on Drake, tell you what this man did this weekend, Brad.
- 1:10:54[SPEAKER_04]: I already know you're some.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_06]: Man, so I'm talking to you.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking to you.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_06]: No, Brad.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_07]: I'm talking to this little bad joint at the bar.
- 1:11:03[SPEAKER_07]: Like we re-engage and everything good, right?
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_07]: And she's like, oh, her birthday was recently, I think, the 27.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_07]: And I said, oh, my birthday was the 25.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm 39.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_07]: She's like, there's no way you're from the 39.
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_06]: So I said go ask my man like he go ask my man like he'll tell you I'm 39 So she goes to ask him and this idiot says he's 41 Right, we're not so he did shift in the whole energy Between me so he died, I didn't talk to you He was lying Yeah, he didn't talk she didn't talk to you I said I said it won't know man She taught me to talk to me to the rest of the evening because she thought I was right
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know what I was doing.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like I don't even think the friends got there yet.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I think I went back to the one that came to the food spot with us and just got some more drinks.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I can't play the room, but as you know, my ex happened to be there and she just brought an attic.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_06]: She brought another situation.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to say that's really, that's really the reason you guys ain't trying to blame me.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_06]: No, he had a little friend, so you tell your man to confirm your age.
- 1:12:14[SPEAKER_06]: He's gonna say you two years older.
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's gonna say you're on your bread like he'd like 35 or something.
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_03]: So, I mean, I thought AJ was, I thought AJ was lying.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_03]: What she was?
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, man.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_06]: All right.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_03]: All right, all right.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, Black Moses, eight, thirty nine, eighty, seven, four.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_06]: Poor boy, man.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_06]: Poor boy, man.
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_03]: No, that's crazy, bro.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_03]: Mop, a first of all, I don't know why you co-sign in this, but that's actually, that's a little wicked breath, and on top of that, if she couldn't tell a sarcasm, that's what I heard.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_03]: I need you messing with the girl, Mop, I need you messing with her, I'm just cracking the joke, that's it, but you won't go, right?
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_03]: Like you ain't to say I'm playing, but I gave it a little time, I didn't like literally say you're just walking, I played around a little bit, and then I just won't go.
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_07]: When I tell you perfect conversation like everything going good as it's meant to confirm my age where we talked the rest of the evening.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I got it.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm missing.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_03]: So we're still saying those.
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_04]: We need to go to the herbal story next time.
- 1:13:27[SPEAKER_04]: Next time we get on the show.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_04]: It's a herbal story.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_06]: Man.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_04]: What's your saying?
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I
- 1:13:47[SPEAKER_06]: And it is what is we we're going to run back later on this month, but yeah, matter Yeah, I don't know why you want to see what's up, bro.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_03]: We coming out for the first time.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_03]: We don't we don't the draft What he's a more damn all come on home, you know, but I was going to stay on the serious note from the interview.
- 1:14:03[SPEAKER_07]: There's a lot of nuggets if if you didn't watch it
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_07]: I hope that when we reshare it tomorrow that you or even later on today, if you're going YouTube, whatever platform you watch it back, there was a lot of nuggets that we should pay close attention to.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_07]: And that's why I'm mentioning the Raiders game when he was the office coordinator going against beefloat like the score was three to nothing.
- 1:14:27[SPEAKER_07]: He just touched on the fact that
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_07]: a corner, essentially, a corner in that scheme doesn't necessarily affect the gain that much is more so guys that have the versatility would be Swiss knives.
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_07]: So that's where it's just like, you know, they really bind into this whole deflow system and what the wrong thing wants to do defensively on the clock at seven and if Jeremiah loves it there,
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_07]: I don't see them going corner.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_07]: And a lot of people have been suspecting corner.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_07]: Our last guest last week, Doug Fraud.
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_07]: He might mess or correct if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I just don't see corner being a top seven pick.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_07]: I see them maybe addressing it later down the road.
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_07]: But yeah, I can't.
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_07]: I'm also see safety or sudden styles at that position.
- 1:15:20[SPEAKER_07]: It's loving there.
- 1:15:24[SPEAKER_03]: All right, and that's gonna wrap it up for us.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_03]: We are not done with the content now granted.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_03]: I noticed it's an exclusively draft, but again, like as they say, like we all reiterated, it's plenty of nuggets especially coming around draft time and that kind of even the one that he just mentioned in terms of defensive talent.
- 1:15:45[SPEAKER_03]: If you're looking at that first round, you can kind of get an idea if what the round tape made one on that first and second level versus that third level as well.
- 1:15:52[SPEAKER_03]: Next week, we're looking, we're going to tell it this towards, again, more draft center.
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking to have a scout on, a actual NFL scout, someone that I work closely with, and then we'll try to get another draft analyst on as well, maybe three.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_03]: man.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how we're going to work out.
- 1:16:16[SPEAKER_03]: We may have the redboard Peter Sherry bomb.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_03]: So, so we're going to see.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_03]: But next week is more draft talk, more content with guests.
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_03]: And that's going to wrap it up for us tonight.
- 1:16:30[SPEAKER_03]: Brock, I don't know.
- 1:16:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like I said, I don't know.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know your just ask your question.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know your tone.
- 1:16:38[SPEAKER_03]: But asking, you just just let you know, you had mentioned.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think you asked,
- 1:16:43[SPEAKER_03]: Wow, you're not doing your job in the pain, and then you say something about what is your actual, what's your, what's your, your title or something like that.
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_03]: So so those are the two things just to let you know, I mean, you just got to be honest.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_07]: You just have a Korean still got it that's been off as a coordinator in the league.
- 1:17:03[SPEAKER_07]: He literally was a past game coordinator just a couple of months ago for the day like, not even that.
- 1:17:08[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just, I'm just, I was just saying, I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:17:11[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:17:12[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:17:13[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why I was like, if somebody reads that, they can take it a certain type of way.
- 1:17:19[SPEAKER_03]: That's, that's, that's the idea.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_03]: So if you ain't made nothing by just keep in mind like, it can't be perceived some type of way.
- 1:17:25[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't say it in the show anyway.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_07]: Well, let's just add this conversation about Z Wheatley and Caleb Dowes on Twitter if you want to.
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_07]: I'm down ahead and I'm conversation with you.
- 1:17:38[SPEAKER_01]: All right, hey, we out of here appreciate about checking a lot back next week same time
- 1:18:08[SPEAKER_01]: This is jumping down.
